Ep 1207 | The Rooney Rule Is Dead And The NFL Won't Let ESPN Save It | Todd Bowles & Aaron Glenn In Trouble

Fearless with Jason Whitlock · Jul 29, 2026 · 1h 16m

Baker Mayfield's contract decision puts Todd Bowles on the hottest seat in football AND exposes the death of the Rooney Rule and why the NFL won't let ESPN try to save it. Jason Whitlock connects the dots: the NFL's 10% ESPN stake, Ryan Clark out, Pat McAfee up, Stephen A. Smith turned down. With three black head coaches left after 10 openings and zero hires over the off-season, Whitlock makes the biblical case for meritocracy over identity politics: God is no respecter of persons. The NFL's grievance era is over.
