- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so what do you do when you're in the middle of a
- 0:33project? Or at the end of a project?
- 0:35I should say not the middle to the end and you realize your
- 0:41plan is not going to come in when you thought it was going
- 0:45to. And there's a little bit of a
- 0:47shift and you have to make a decision.
- 0:50That's a difficult decision. Well, I'm telling you this
- 0:53because this is happening real time in my life and I thought it
- 0:56would be an interesting thing to share with everybody because
- 0:59this has been Like the process. So we are in the middle of
- 1:04working in our garage and creating a recording studio for
- 1:08classes. And we knew that this was going
- 1:12to be a little bit of a longer process to do this little bit of
- 1:15a renovation here, planned on, having it done.
- 1:19Started the process in January planned on having it done and to
- 1:22March and one thing after another just kind of kept
- 1:27happening not necessarily on our end but on the End of supply
- 1:31chain, couldn't get doors, couldn't get the windows that
- 1:36matched had to wait and things that match the house had to
- 1:40wait, to have certain things shipped in couldn't get on the
- 1:46schedule with the contractor. Contractor is the most talented
- 1:51guy. Very blessed to have him but he
- 1:54is in high demand and you have to share him and then he hurts
- 1:59himself. Gets his hand hurt, couldn't
- 2:03find. He had subcontract just coming
- 2:06in to do certain things. They had delays, it was just one
- 2:10thing after another. So during this process obviously
- 2:14someone who's doing this every day for everybody else myself.
- 2:20I have to learn to control myself because I am possibly one
- 2:24of the most impatient people on the planet.
- 2:27And I have a very, very, very I don't want to say difficult time
- 2:33doing that, but I definitely have a time doing that.
- 2:36So here I am working on this. Going through this process
- 2:40trying, very hard to be patient with myself and again that's
- 2:45never something that I do easily being patient with myself that I
- 2:48realized, okay? It's not just about me.
- 2:50It's about the process of this and I have been and I let it go
- 2:53and I let it go. And, you know, everything was
- 2:56coming down to the wire and it is coming down to the wire and
- 3:00we get to putting the Or down which is this really cool thing.
- 3:05Idea that I came up with not something he had done before and
- 3:10he was experimenting with it and he put the first coat down and
- 3:14it looked great in this and they did the finishing coat and we
- 3:16were like, okay, it looks great but it doesn't look like the
- 3:21exact way. We thought it was going to look.
- 3:24So in the process of this, like, okay, well, I could let it go.
- 3:29I could just say, hey, you know what?
- 3:31This Is totally fine. I could completely do that and I
- 3:35could just leave it there. But in my gut, in my heart, I
- 3:38knew there was just a little bit more that I wanted.
- 3:42And I had to make this decision about.
- 3:44Okay, do I do I push it forward, do I go ahead and push it
- 3:48forward? Do I say to myself?
- 3:50Okay, like let's just take that extra week.
- 3:54Take the last step order another top coat and put in more of the
- 3:58solution of these because the floor is sparkled, I should have
- 4:01said that the Floors and putting sparkles on the floor and the
- 4:04first round is boggles looks great, but it's just not quite
- 4:07as intense as I anticipated. It would be.
- 4:11So it would need another round and of course, that cost more
- 4:15money. Of course, it costs more time.
- 4:18And I had to sit there and think about it and, you know, I'm
- 4:22sitting there, mulling it over, mulling it over, mulling it
- 4:25over, and I'm not in my coaching brain.
- 4:27I'm in my human brain. Now, I'm just being Kim.
- 4:30And I'm standing in the space and my husband walks in and he
- 4:35says, to me, well, you've come this far.
- 4:38Why would you stop now? That's not like you and the
- 4:42second. He said, it hit me in the back
- 4:44of the head, like a bat. And I went, yeah, you're right.
- 4:47He's like so what if it's another week, so what, you know
- 4:51what, you've waited this long, you might as well, wait to get
- 4:55it and have it feel amazing? And I was like, yeah, he's
- 4:59right. So That's what happened.
- 5:02But the point is and why I'm telling you, this is you have to
- 5:07recognize sometimes even in your humanness you have to really,
- 5:11push yourself to say. Okay, what do I really want is
- 5:15my goal in? Am I willing to just do that
- 5:17little bit extra just that little bit extra to go from good
- 5:20to Great to outstanding and it's a very small difference between
- 5:24those spaces and you know what? It's worth every bit of it.
- 5:27So I hope you guys have a very blessed day.
- 5:30I hope this Helpful. And I will see you all tomorrow.
- 5:34Bye. Helpful.
- 5:31And I will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
