BODY & SOUL month has given us a week of worthy modern noir and today is no exception in this discussion of British director Steve McQueen’s web of Chicago crime and politics. Three women are forced to pay back some money stolen by their husbands in a heist that led to them, and the money, going up in flames. The blackmail leads to them picking up where their men left off and plotting a heist that one’s husband mostly already laid out.
