- 0:02This is Bill make live. I heart radios.
- 0:06Talk for the Space Coast with today's Common Sense on common
- 0:13radio. Here's Bill Mitch Welcome to our
- 0:26three of our Monday, October 11th Edition, a bill Mick live
- 0:29is being brought to you by the McPherson Financial Group, and
- 0:32as is our tradition on a Monday at 8:00, Dave Bowman, joins us
- 0:38from Washington and the good news is, well, I'm sitting here
- 0:42doing the jobs of what on some shows are four or five people.
- 0:46I don't have time to do research in the middle of show.
- 0:48I'm busy dealing with phones and you and discussion and trying to
- 0:51keep a train of thought on track, but that doesn't always
- 0:54happen either. Davis able to do a little bit of
- 0:56research, and he was doing some during that last hour as we were
- 0:59discussing. This local impact of the Biden
- 1:04Administration. Mandate that thou shalt be
- 1:06vaccinated or Thou shalt you lose.
- 1:08Thy government contractor job morning.
- 1:12Dave Bowman. How are things in Silverdale,
- 1:13Washington this morning? Happy Columbus, Day Monday to
- 1:17you. Indigenous peoples day.
- 1:20I was born here pal. Well, you know, it feels like
- 1:23the old days when you used to make us come in on holidays and
- 1:25working at five in the morning. Anyway, so here I am.
- 1:28Yeah, we used to do that. That's true.
- 1:30Yeah, so it's just like recognized holiday.
- 1:33It's apparently not been mandated by the government that
- 1:36we take it yet. It's a Federal holiday.
- 1:37When you talking about, it's a Federal holiday.
- 1:40They haven't mandated it. You recognize it as such a
- 1:44people not to work though. Well, it's misnamed anyway, so
- 1:47there you go, but I'll talk. Back tomorrow on my show.
- 1:49So anyway, yeah, it's kind of like the old days when you would
- 1:53be on the air and I would be on the board and I just, you know,
- 1:55had your stuff while you were talking, those were the good old
- 1:57days, so they were and they were a blast that I miss them.
- 2:01It was, you know, it was an interesting, our last hour
- 2:04listening to people make a sir tations and counter assert
- 2:08ations and you know it started with the New South Wales thing
- 2:12with the gal that resigned. She didn't resign because of
- 2:14covid, she resigned because apparently some years ago she
- 2:17was sleeping with a career. Up state legislator who was who
- 2:21stands accused of listen to follow this now, it's Australia.
- 2:26Giving certain gun clubs, you know, like shooting clubs,
- 2:30special privileges. And and so he's in trouble for
- 2:34that. She was sleeping with him some
- 2:35years ago. So she resigned we at the top
- 2:39story in Victoria where she resigned over covid because she
- 2:42doesn't like the oppressive things they're having to do to
- 2:45the citizens of Australia and and conversely.
- 2:48Laramie. Wyoming Police, one of your
- 2:50favorite places on the planet because they make some kind of
- 2:53whiskey, that's really good or something.
- 2:55They arrest a High School Junior because she's not wearing a mask
- 2:58at school. It's like duh.
- 2:59That's interesting, because both of my brothers graduated from
- 3:02that high school. So, and and that, right?
- 3:04Yeah, and I like, all things like that belie approach that
- 3:07with some trepidation we had a story here last week about kids
- 3:11being sent home because their clothing was heavily, Carhartt
- 3:15brand clothing and they were told that it was racist and they
- 3:18Or this that and the other well, come to find out there was
- 3:21obviously more to the story, which was that they were wearing
- 3:23Trump flags as capes. They were screaming, make
- 3:27America great again. They were being very disruptive,
- 3:29I suspect with that story in Laramie when we dig a Little
- 3:33Deeper, we'll find that there's more to the story, but we
- 3:35haven't gotten there yet so we'll wait.
- 3:37Well, and the girl and her family basically say, we're
- 3:39pushing this to the Limit simply.
- 3:42Because our lawyer said, that's the way to do it to get a court
- 3:46decision on it. And if you don't have this
- 3:48disability, In play, if you don't have a citation from the,
- 3:51from the police or in, and now an arrest since she pushed it
- 3:54further, then you don't have any way to get it into court.
- 3:58So she is intentionally pushing the issue.
- 4:00Yeah, and, and that doesn't surprise me, that somebody's
- 4:03lawyer told them to use their children to, to make their
- 4:06parents. So at any rate, so then I'm
- 4:09loose on this mandate from the administration though and I
- 4:12appreciate you being able to do it while we were so busy.
- 4:15In the last hour. What did you find out?
- 4:17Number one? It's very Very, very confusing.
- 4:20That's the first thing you got to understand.
- 4:22Any time you're dealing with the government.
- 4:23They are not going to come out and say yes, we have a vaccine
- 4:27mandate. They're just not going to say
- 4:29that because they would rather use 10,000 words where we're ten
- 4:32would do so that so that everything is coverable.
- 4:36There is a September 9th, executive order, 1404 to from
- 4:42President Biden, which outlines something.
- 4:46This is where it gets weird. That is Not actually from OSHA.
- 4:50It's actually from a committee called the safer, Federal
- 4:53Workforce tax task force, which I'm sure includes OSHA and some
- 4:58other folks. This is issued as a September 24
- 5:022021. It's 7, 14 pages in length and
- 5:05you I'll I'll link it up in the chat room.
- 5:08So if anybody wants to see it, they can't.
- 5:10This is based on the Dave, Bowman show.com.
- 5:13By the way, I've shared that with you on the wmm, be Facebook
- 5:16page. If you're looking for a while
- 5:17puts also a bill makes. Uh, cam, I'll put this in your
- 5:19chat room here on the show today.
- 5:21This is based on Biden's path out of the pandemic covid-19
- 5:24action plan. And this is where you get that
- 5:27set up that December 8 date from, where contractors Federal
- 5:32contractors Federal subcontractors.
- 5:34Anybody that's taking on a new government.
- 5:36Contract has to be fully compliant with the vaccination.
- 5:39This is not OSHA per se, although I'm sure OSHA's
- 5:44involved with it. Nor is it, you know, a law.
- 5:48It passed by Congress. It's simply a task force that
- 5:51came up with some rules that the president then said, in
- 5:54executive order, these rules apply and you will abide by
- 5:57them. So, that's where the whole thing
- 5:58comes from. And it's kind of one of the
- 6:02things, we're Scott's, right? It's not on the OSHA website.
- 6:05But the other guys, right in the sense that there is an executive
- 6:07order saying this. So it's like the government is
- 6:10intentionally, trying to obfuscate everything and
- 6:13contractors are caught in the middle of this saying, you know,
- 6:17at some point, Aunt, it's just easier to make our employers,
- 6:20get the vaccination than it is to try to.
- 6:22Please these government overlords and I think that's the
- 6:24point we've reached. I've been thinking Dave though.
- 6:30What if Grumman and Harrison in Lockheed and these other Federal
- 6:34contractors that are relied upon heavily for much.
- 6:38If not all of our military hardware and software these
- 6:41days. What if they just said, you
- 6:43know, what you've gone a step too far.
- 6:45We're not going to get involved in our employees, medical
- 6:48decisions between them and their doctors.
- 6:50What's the government going to do?
- 6:51If these contractors? Say, you know, what?
- 6:52No, where did you not go to do it?
- 6:55Well, I mean in principle, you might Say that but keep in mind
- 6:59that the government can then lean on the courts to find in
- 7:01their favor for this stuff and I would love to see it.
- 7:05I would love to see the entire country.
- 7:07Basically stick stick up the middle finger and say.
- 7:10No, let's go Brandon. But yeah, the problem though is
- 7:14that 50% of this country, almost fifty percent of this country is
- 7:19scared bleep, less over covid and thinks that this is the
- 7:23entirety of the end of the world and they're going to bleat like
- 7:26sheep and do whatever. The government tells them to do.
- 7:30That's sad, but it does appear to be where we are.
- 7:33Today we are seeing some protests in front of these local
- 7:36contractors offices and work locations.
- 7:40I don't know how huge they're getting but there are.
- 7:43There are pocket protectors mechanical pencils compasses
- 7:46protractors and the occasional slide.
- 7:48We will all over the street. Well, you're just just leaning
- 7:53on the Nerds today, aren't you? Well, you what can I tell you?
- 7:57Dave? Bowman with us.
- 7:58You can be two or three, two, one, seven six. 12:40, we pick
- 8:01it all up in one minute here on wmm, be Insider, email comes out
- 8:06each day about 4:00. This.

- 8:11scripts from last week's McNugget so you can catch up
- 8:13with those. If you missed any of those, make
- 8:15sure you're signed up top of the page at build.

- 8:20especially if you're a new collar, no call Springer in
- 8:23play. So, answer the call put you on
- 8:25hold you need to listen on the phone and I'll get your calls as
- 8:28quickly as we can as Dave Bowman.
- 8:30Owen from the day, Bowman Show podcast.
- 8:32Joins us this morning. Dave with protests in the like
- 8:38I'm guessing. This is not going to be
- 8:39extremely effective and it's a shame.
- 8:42I would like to see something effective happen here.
- 8:44It's not going to be effective until the day that it's much
- 8:48more, massive and less informational.
- 8:51But, you know, I mean, everything starts small bill.
- 8:54That's that's the line from one of my favorite movies,
- 8:57everything starts small, and maybe I think the momentum let's
- 9:01get a quick call in. We go to line one your up with
- 9:03Bill and Dave. Good morning.
- 9:06Hey guys, one of the things, the scariest things I ever saw was.
- 9:12They had another scientist Chinese scientists that turn and
- 9:15says, oh, oh, oh this this virus.
- 9:19And and he was, he was a minute about about them intentionally.
- 9:24Releasing it and knowingly, spreading it all over the world,
- 9:28which is probably true. Look in the actions, the China,
- 9:31I mean, they isolated their capital and then they were okay.
- 9:35The points they okay, okay. The point is they have another
- 9:39virus on hand nothing to do with this one, but it's 80% kill,
- 9:45roadkill, kill Factor. Okay.
- 9:48Not exactly where we're living today, but I appreciate you
- 9:51throwing it out there. David does raise the question
- 9:53watch next. What's the next vaccine?
- 9:55They're going to mandate for you me or otherwise.
- 9:57Well Lord, what's the next virus to come along?
- 9:59What's the next thing to scare us?
- 10:00I mean this is, this is the point we've reached now with
- 10:03government is we go Governed by fear and we need control.
- 10:09And so I don't know. I mean is it going to be AIDS
- 10:12like the caller suggested last hour?
- 10:15I don't know that it would be AIDS, I think people have kind
- 10:17of gotten past that and you know, the survivability of AIDS
- 10:20has become fairly High anyway now.
- 10:22So there's going to come a time though.
- 10:25When there's going to be something that scares everybody
- 10:28and that's what it will be. I don't know.
- 10:31I'm not a fortune tellers, I don't really know.
- 10:35Yeah, yeah, I get that. And I understand what tell you
- 10:37what I'm going to try to take us in a lighter direction, if you
- 10:42will. We've got some other things that
- 10:44came up over the weekend that I have shared with you and we'll
- 10:47find and choose those that we wish to talk about and we'll
- 10:50kick those around as we continue and we do invite you to play
- 10:53along with those as well at 32, 1768 1240 coming up next week.
- 10:59It is a grant in your hand. Yet again, multiple
- 11:01opportunities each day Monday through Friday for you to pick
- 11:04up. Dollars as we head into the
- 11:06holiday season, good opportunity for you as you listen right here
- 11:09on W. MMB.
- 11:10That'll start next Monday? Fun morning, straight ahead.
- 11:15You know, I'm a big, Dave Chappelle fan.
- 11:18I really like what he's been doing lately and he's taking a
- 11:20lot of heat and we'll see where that all takes us.
- 11:22When we continue the time is 826.
- 11:41McPherson Financial Group, bringing you the our day Bowman
- 11:43with us from the day Bowman, Show podcast also known as
- 11:47plausibly live. You can link up to it from my
- 11:51page of Bill mc.com. Also shared the link on the wmm
- 11:54be Facebook page and while we're kicking around some of those
- 11:57This Governor government contractor angst and and
- 12:01mandates on their employees is the employee angst.
- 12:04Not the tractors. I think they, let's get a quick
- 12:07call in on that before. We move to some of these other.
- 12:09Things Olin is in Palm Bay Olin. Good morning.
- 12:13Hey, good morning, Dave. And good morning to you too,
- 12:16Bill. Yes, sir, Bill.
- 12:18We've been discussing the covid and the vaccine and the
- 12:22government response to it and it got me to thinking about Last
- 12:28American hero. Ronald Reagan, I got to thinking
- 12:31what would Ronald Reagan had done in the similar situation
- 12:35when he was elected? The economy was in a shambles
- 12:38and one of his most famous speeches was when he said, you
- 12:43know, in our certain circumstances, the government is
- 12:48not the answer to our problems. The government is the problem.
- 12:53Uh-huh. I think I think Reagan would
- 12:55have handled this much. Differently and the American
- 13:00people don't trust our government.
- 13:03They don't like our government and they probably never will.
- 13:07So whatever the government wants you to do.
- 13:09You want to do the opposite. You know what, Owen, Dave?
- 13:11And I were talking about that in the break, Dave.
- 13:13I'll let you speak to that for just a minute before we move on
- 13:15to other things. Well, and, and, and while
- 13:19there's some truth to that, I think Reagan would have handled
- 13:21a different, but then again, pretty much every president
- 13:23would have handled it differently.
- 13:25We've never had a president. Okay, let me back that up.
- 13:30We've had presidents but they were restrained by other
- 13:32elements. We've never had a president who
- 13:34feels like he can get away with some of the things he's getting
- 13:38away with and it's all based on fear bill.
- 13:41It's 100% based on the fact that he has a an electoral plurality
- 13:47that is living in fear if he ever loses that plurality his
- 13:52ability to win an election, things will change.
- 13:55That's why I mean I I hate the phrase, the twenty two twenty,
- 13:59twenty two, midterms are important.
- 14:01They're not the most important election ever but that's going
- 14:04to be the seminal moment that really is that will tell us
- 14:07whether this country is going to get its head on straight or
- 14:10whether we're going to continue to operate as essentially, a
- 14:15dictatorial to tyranny. I mean that's that's where we're
- 14:18headed King Joseph, the first as we look at this, the other
- 14:24element that I think Owen mentioned that is important is
- 14:27Because of what's occurred in the how the government has
- 14:30mishandled. This coronavirus thing we have
- 14:33lost faith in the government Health machine in government, in
- 14:36general. If we had much Faith there to
- 14:38start with, it has eroded horribly during the last 18
- 14:42months, or so faster, than its been eroding in the previous,
- 14:46you know, generation to Generations.
- 14:48This is a common complaint Among Us government types.
- 14:51And media types is that the public is losing trust in us.
- 14:54Well, instead of blaming the Flick for losing trust in you.
- 14:58Why don't you analyze why they're losing trust in you and
- 15:02and deal with it? Yeah, right.
- 15:04But there's an inability in government.
- 15:07There's an inability in everybody bill, but particularly
- 15:10in government to not really be able to admit a mistake.
- 15:14And when you're the size of the federal government of the United
- 15:18States, you figure you can buy your way out of anything.
- 15:22So I they're unlikely to ever look at this and go.
- 15:24Hey, maybe we should get rid of some of these people who are
- 15:26causing people. Lose trust in US.
- 15:29It's like they've never heard of a PR firm.
- 15:31I mean it really is. Yeah, or yeah, exactly.
- 15:36Right. Dave.
- 15:37I'm going to go ahead and take an opportunity to remind
- 15:39everybody that this hours being brought to them by the McPherson
- 15:42Financial Group and in planning for your retirement is as
- 15:46important as anything to you, because you're in essence and
- 15:50planning the rest of your life. And the McPherson Financial
- 15:52Group, realizes this, and they've got knowledge tools and
- 15:56experience that helps them help you craft a plan.
- 15:59Going to have you where you want to be, when those retirement
- 16:01years come for you, you want to be able to do the things you
- 16:03like to do. Whether it's travel or time with
- 16:06the kids and grandkids or golf or tennis, whatever it may be.
- 16:10You also need to be ready for the things you don't like to
- 16:12think about injury and illness, recovery, long-term care, maybe
- 16:15something you need at some point or assisted living is even
- 16:18possibility. Is the plan your building?
- 16:20Now getting, you ready for all of those things.
- 16:23Well, talk to Art and the folks at the McPherson Financial
- 16:25Group, three, two, one, two, five, three 2016.
- 16:29In 253 2016 or online at McPherson Financial group.com.
- 16:34Let them compare the plan. You've got now with one that
- 16:36they would help you craft and see what's going to work best
- 16:39for you. Don't forget their show.
- 16:41Each weekend on wmm, be called The Art of money.
- 16:44Every Saturday at 4:00 Sunday mornings at 9:00 and Sunday
- 16:46afternoons at three. By the way, the McPherson
- 16:48Financial Group, LLC is a financial services firm offering
- 16:52a broad array of products, and services, including insurance
- 16:55and annuities. They're licensed in Florida.
- 16:57And yes, I am compensated for The endorsement de Beaumont is
- 17:01with us, Dave, you gave us a good opportunity to transition
- 17:05into this story talking about the government and its reaction.
- 17:08And what it's doing, we are reacting in large part to the
- 17:11squeaky wheel, the group that wins that they're being
- 17:14oppressed or whatever. And I don't know about you, but
- 17:16I'm a big, Dave, Chappelle fan when it comes to comedian.
- 17:19I find that as though he is vulgar in much of what he says.
- 17:23He's also very honest and his observations about society.
- 17:27And one of the things that he has Adan he's even received
- 17:30accolades from some in the transgender Community, for being
- 17:34honest about this is what gender is and one transgender activists
- 17:39used to go see his shows as he would perform them in clubs
- 17:42around California. Getting it ready to take to the
- 17:44Big Show's. As said, look, when you make fun
- 17:46of me, you validate me. You make me an actual part of
- 17:50society. Others are calling him
- 17:52transphobic because he stands on the idea.
- 17:55That gender is a two-person thing MBC news hit.
- 17:59Talked about government and media and that they
- 18:01responsibility, they have, they're calling him transphobic.
- 18:05They, they cite things that are very miniscule in nature.
- 18:09And we're going after honest, speech, including some of the
- 18:12funniest in the land. How are you reading that?
- 18:14Landscape pancakes, Bill pancakes.
- 18:18I love dick Chappell. I have to be careful about
- 18:22watching him though because I it's not something I want been,
- 18:26you know, exposed to yet someday.
- 18:28Yeah. Yeah, right.
- 18:30So I've had a couple of times in here work, but watching him and
- 18:33just falling on the floor, laughing and had to stop because
- 18:35he comes in. What's so funny.
- 18:36Dad. Yeah, but but really, this is
- 18:41surprise anybody bill right now. They're going after Dave
- 18:45Chappelle because he's daring to say something that we believe.
- 18:49If he was saying something we didn't believe what would our
- 18:52reaction being our reaction would be who cares.
- 18:56But yeah people and I laugh at Laughs, but comedy directed at
- 19:00people like you and me and those of us on the right, it can be
- 19:03funny. There are some creative people
- 19:06across the Spectrum and I find humor where humor exists, you
- 19:09know, I used to love Doonesbury and and people get mad at me.
- 19:12You're a conservative trout. Drill holes.
- 19:14How can you love Doonesbury? Because it's funny.
- 19:17Yeah, but the bottom line is, at no point.
- 19:20Is that ever occurred to me to make somebody else shut up
- 19:23because I didn't like what they were saying, but we live in a
- 19:26society where at least 50% of the people or poor.
- 19:29Morality of people think that that's the solution.
- 19:31Well, if I don't like what they're saying, we should just
- 19:34make them shut up. And to the degree that Dave
- 19:38Chappelle is resisting. This is fantastic.
- 19:41I support him. I would buy his DVDs to continue
- 19:45to support him except that, you know, I really don't like to
- 19:47spend money on stuff I can get for free.
- 19:49So yeah at what point do we reach where people start saying
- 19:54to themselves? Just go away, just shut up.
- 19:58Who cares. It's a Joke, it's funny.
- 20:02But you can't even enjoy from humor and move on.
- 20:06Stop being ready to be offended at the slightest thing.
- 20:09Let's cancel, Columbus, never quit.
- 20:11Couple of notes here, before we have to break the whole Urban
- 20:14Meyer thing has gone. Plumb stupid.
- 20:15Now as the mom of the grinding girl, dancing on Urban's, lap
- 20:21has decided that her daughter's now in Jeopardy because of this,
- 20:24and she's really concerned about her daughter.
- 20:27I wonder if she was concerned. When she was raising a daughter
- 20:30who would decide she would approach a guy who's 30 years
- 20:33older than she is and start doing what she can to arouse him
- 20:36at a club. Yeah, boy.
- 20:38There's so many questions about this but at the end of the day,
- 20:42it's Urban Meyer. Who's you know, he's asleep
- 20:46back. His job may be in Jeopardy.
- 20:50Anyway, I can't believe he still has a job.
- 20:52Think it's already what? 9:00 almost on the East Coast.
- 20:55I can't believe he has a job still.
- 20:58I was fully Expecting him to be fired this morning.
- 21:01Yeah. And then, of course, we had
- 21:02Madonna crawling on, Jimmy Fallon's desk.
- 21:05On The Tonight Show, we are a society that's eating up with
- 21:08this kind of stuff, and we watch it.
- 21:10So, why are we not? Why are we surprised at all?
- 21:13Dave, Bowman with us. We've got one more segment to
- 21:15get to and we're back in moments on Bill, make live.
- 21:36Billy Joel's, We Didn't Start the fight or be more
- 21:40appropriate, Bumper Music, as we come back into the show, Dave
- 21:43Bowman with us from Silverdale Washington, the host of
- 21:45plausibly live today Bowman Show podcast available on the
- 21:49iHeartRadio at make sure you catch up with that.
- 21:51When you can't I've given you a link that bill mc.com and on the
- 21:53wmm be Look, Paige. Davis actually posted some links
- 21:57to the video of the show this morning regarding our topic in
- 22:01the first segment of the, our one of move on to something
- 22:04else. So that's in Dave's wheelhouse.
- 22:05As the McPherson Financial Group brings you this hour the show,
- 22:10Dave is a former. Well, he's a Navy submarine
- 22:14veteran. Dave.
- 22:14How long did you spend working in on around submarine?
- 22:20Wow, I know, you enjoyed that time and you often lament, you
- 22:23would like to be doing it again. A little Beyond us these days,
- 22:27but I can understand the love of something like that.
- 22:31We've got a story that ties your former submarine life and my
- 22:36native land of West Virginia and submarines together.
- 22:39Although I doubt there's ever been a submarine in West
- 22:42Virginia anywhere other than a little one-man job in a river
- 22:44somewhere. And it's an interesting story
- 22:49apparently from appalled socket. The Blaze linked up for you.
- 22:52Bill mc.com a u.s. Navy nuclear engineer and his
- 22:56wife now charged with trying to sell nuclear submarine secrets,
- 23:00to what they thought was a foreign power and they were
- 23:04doing it electronically. Apparently, initially sending
- 23:06messages to what they sent messages to what they thought
- 23:10was a foreign power and it ended up in the hands of the FBI.
- 23:13And this couple has now, been arrested in West Virginia for
- 23:16doing It there were using West Virginia as at least a couple of
- 23:19dead drop locations for the secret or restricted information
- 23:24that they had about nuclear subs.
- 23:27I know you had a chance to look at the story.
- 23:28Give me your thoughts. Oh, submarine.
- 23:30Are you? Well, let me caveat anything.
- 23:33I say as completely unofficial and unclassified.
- 23:38It's all open source, so I have no special knowledge, but we can
- 23:43go with that. That works.
- 23:44I have a particular. For spies I was in.
- 23:50I was actually at Sea when they arrested John Walker back in the
- 23:5480s, and it wasn't until years later that I really understood
- 23:59the damage that he caused. And I'm not sure people today,
- 24:04really understand that the funny part about, that was my
- 24:08executive officer commanders name was John Walker as well.
- 24:12So we used to give him crap about that on a pretty regular
- 24:15basis, but There's something just despicable about a person
- 24:19who would sell secrets for money.
- 24:22And what we're going to find out is that this guy and this is
- 24:25pure speculation on my part. This guy and his wife got in
- 24:28over their head financially and the only thing he had of any
- 24:33value is knowledge about nuclear reactors.
- 24:35Sorry, nuclear reactors. And he, he, you know, he didn't
- 24:42learn the lesson from anybody else that didn't get away with
- 24:44this and thought, well, I'm smarter than they are.
- 24:46And So that's why he's sitting in jail right now and he's
- 24:49probably going to rot there for the rest of his life and good
- 24:52riddance. As far as I'm concerned.
- 24:53It was the guy at the FBI. Robert something-or-another that
- 24:57did the spying and was driven. At least from what I've seen and
- 25:01understood about it by a wife. He was trying to financially
- 25:04keep happy. Yeah.
- 25:05I mean that's that's what happens a lot of times as these
- 25:08guys get into financial distress.
- 25:10They get they they overextend themselves.
- 25:13And then and the thing they think is that they're going to
- 25:16make millions. He's doing this and and they're
- 25:18not there. The Russians, particularly are
- 25:20notoriously cheap. They don't they don't like to.
- 25:23They don't like to pay people a lot of money because they
- 25:26figure, they got people lined up to give them information, you
- 25:28know, supply and demand. It's just, it's just sad in a
- 25:33lot of ways, but it's angering in a lot of ways.
- 25:36It's easy to say, well, his wife, you know, he was just
- 25:39using his wife as a lookout. But, you know, I'm just going to
- 25:42go out on the limb and say she's probably is involved in this as
- 25:45anything else because She knew what they were spending.
- 25:49My wife knows what I spend. So there's no way she didn't
- 25:52know what he spent. It is a question, Dave.
- 25:55Yeah, I have access to her accounts to.
- 25:56So, so, yeah, let me, let me throw out the beginning of this
- 26:01thing. Because I think it's kind of
- 26:02interesting how these people who think they're smarter than
- 26:05everybody else who've done. It aren't really smart at all.
- 26:07The Espionage investigation began in December of 2020.
- 26:11When an FBI official received a package sent to a foreign
- 26:14country that contain Documents a desire to begin a covert
- 26:19relationship and instructions on using encrypted Communications,
- 26:24according to the report from the New York Post.
- 26:27So here's this rookie wannabe spy telling an intelligence
- 26:32agency, how to communicate and sending it to the FBI not where
- 26:38he thought it was going to go. If you are a rookie in this
- 26:42world given instructions to people who spy for a living
- 26:46thing. Like a really bad way to start
- 26:48the relationship. Yeah, it just the amateur label
- 26:53is all over this guy and yet at the same time.
- 26:56He what is he 42? So he's either, he's either just
- 26:59retired or close to retiring as an engineer.
- 27:03I just I'm appalled by it. And what I'm really what I
- 27:06really hate about it is again, the information that they're
- 27:09leaking might seem on the surface to be innocuous, but
- 27:14it's a, it's a data point and when you start Putting the data
- 27:17points together, you can achieve a lot of information and this is
- 27:20what happened with Walker and all of a sudden our deterrent
- 27:25systems and our Naval systems that protect us.
- 27:30Or at risk. And that that's the definition
- 27:34of a traitor. That's the definition of of that
- 27:37sort of thing. And I just it's it.
- 27:41I'm not a huge supporter of the death penalty, but it might be
- 27:43time to bring back firing squads.
- 27:46You know, for things like this, I would be wholeheartedly in
- 27:49agreement day, Bowman with us. You want in its three, two, one,
- 27:52seven, six, eight, twelve forty. We'll pick it up in just a
- 27:54minute, but I will remind you the West Cocoa.

- 28:55Dave, when you, when you see a story like this, is it make you
- 28:59wonder how much of this is going on, how many people are trying
- 29:02to are either manipulated into this because they have
- 29:06vulnerabilities that a foreign government would like to exploit
- 29:10or for the financial reasons that we were talking about with
- 29:13this couple that it appears you. How many people are getting
- 29:17involved in something like this, you know, in my day, I was
- 29:19pretty optimistic about it. And until the Walker thing
- 29:23happened. In my time.
- 29:25We had a thing called, The PRP personal reliability program.
- 29:29There was a lot of emphasis on security.
- 29:32There was a lot of emphasis on well, I joke about this, but
- 29:36there was a time when I went three months without getting a
- 29:39speeding ticket. Okay, and that was unusual for
- 29:43me. I actually got an interview with
- 29:45the diligence people because they wanted to know what had
- 29:48changed in my life that I wasn't getting speeding tickets
- 29:51anymore. Okay, and there was a lot of
- 29:56that kind of mentality about security.
- 29:59You didn't talk about things, you didn't, you didn't discuss
- 30:02these things nowadays. I don't get that same sense.
- 30:06I have some contact with Sailors today because I live near the
- 30:08base and I'm, there are times when I'm just appalled, with
- 30:12what gets posted on social media and likes it out.
- 30:15I Just the just the speculation about what happened to
- 30:19Connecticut. The other day is, is it's scary
- 30:22to me. But there's there's also so much
- 30:26more Temptation these days financially than there was when
- 30:31I was younger, I guess I don't know.
- 30:32And the whole get-rich-quick schemes The Tick-Tock element of
- 30:38this the social media elements of this.
- 30:41It's not even necessarily evil intent.
- 30:45It just sloppy. Us in some cases and that
- 30:47terrifies me when it comes to talking about National Defense,
- 30:52Yeah, I can understand it. You mentioned the Connecticut.
- 30:55We had a sub last week. For those of you who weren't
- 30:58clued in that hit something while submerged in traveling, at
- 31:03whatever rate of speed. It was traveling at, that was
- 31:04some matter of speculation in the initial stories.
- 31:07Dave. I know you follow these kind of
- 31:09stories closely. And again, we're in the realm of
- 31:11speculation here, but there are possibilities another sub
- 31:17wreckage or something that is down.
- 31:19There may be a poorly mapped. Area of the ocean floor that
- 31:24they could have been close to debris in the water, like, I
- 31:28guess plastic, or what? Or even a biological type thing
- 31:33a whale or other sea creature. That could have been part of the
- 31:36contact here. You were down there.
- 31:38You live. This a what's it like when this
- 31:41occurs and be just speculation on what you think?
- 31:45The likelihood is what happened under water with that summer,
- 31:48you know, I didn't know this until the other day, but since
- 31:52February in the South China Sea 2,900 of those shipping
- 31:57containers that that ship stuff from China to here, have been
- 32:00lost overboard and they don't necessarily sink depending on
- 32:06what's in them. They might float.
- 32:08They might sink to the bottom or they might achieve some sort of
- 32:10neutral buoyancy, and being floating somewhere in the
- 32:13middle. The speculation, is that?
- 32:17That's a possibility. I mean, again, I wasn't there.
- 32:19I don't know my purse. Pet Theory because I think it's
- 32:23so cool. And and the hockey season starts
- 32:27tomorrow, is I'm rooting for the Kraken.
- 32:29I'm really hoping that this was a giant squid that just grabbed
- 32:32her and said, hey, let's let's dance because I think how cool
- 32:38funny. But beyond that.
- 32:40No, I don't, I don't think we ever hit was the surface when
- 32:43you hit a, a biological entity down there.
- 32:47No. Because at that speed, biologic
- 32:49whales are smarter than that, they get out of the way doll.
- 32:51Orphans love to swim along with us, especially on the surface.
- 32:55You post the other day, that was great.
- 32:57Now whales are smarter than that.
- 32:59The only rumor I've ever heard about a submarine hitting a
- 33:02whale was during the 80s. There was a rumor that a Soviet
- 33:07Alpha class submarine, the fastest submarine ever built was
- 33:11running at full speed, which essentially makes you blind.
- 33:14You can't hear anything and, and caught a whale, you know,
- 33:18broadside do the, they hit the whale head on Sideways.
- 33:22But you know, I have nobody has any way of confirming that
- 33:24nobody is and but that's that's the only rumor I've ever heard
- 33:29of a biologic actually being hit by a submarine.
- 33:32Now they'll occasionally bump you they like to come up to you
- 33:36and talk to you and like so that but but they're not really
- 33:39interested in in running into you or being run over by you.
- 33:44And for those of you who haven't heard Des podcast, the de
- 33:47Beaumont show.com, you can find it on the iHeartRadio app.
- 33:50You did a very interesting. Podcast regarding submarines in
- 33:54the like last week. And I really enjoyed that.
- 33:56Well, I appreciate that. I don't remember which one it
- 33:58was. The time goes so fast.
- 34:00They'll sometimes I don't remember what I talked about
- 34:02yesterday sometimes and I lost it.
- 34:04I lost the topic just as I was bringing it up, but if you are a
- 34:08veteran yourself, if you are interested in these types of
- 34:11things go research Dave's podcast last week and there are
- 34:16a long list on the website. You can you can find the one I'm
- 34:19referencing here and I'm trying to remember ago, you were
- 34:21talking Out to Soviet sub that had surfaced after an incident
- 34:25where you can already talk to your commander into not having
- 34:27to do this training anymore and all of a sudden seems like you
- 34:30need to do that kind of training.
- 34:32Yeah. That was that was a whale of a
- 34:33day, October 5th 1986. Now that's Soviet Boomer
- 34:37surfaced off Bermuda, and there's a lot of other there.
- 34:41There's a lot of things in that story that are underlying the
- 34:45surface that people don't catch like hey, there's a Soviet
- 34:50Boomer off. Bermuda.
- 34:53And if you're thinking about that, you kind of go, it's not
- 34:56Bermuda. They were interested in is the
- 34:58point. Yeah, and there's some other
- 35:01elements of that, that I mean, what's the flight time of a
- 35:03missile, from Bermuda to Washington DC, and it's a lot
- 35:08shorter than then, the normal 36 minutes of nominal flight time.
- 35:13So there's a lot of things in that story that were never
- 35:17really fully discussed, but man for me I tell you that was And
- 35:22then with what happened with us, you know, less than three weeks
- 35:25later. It was it was a little unnerving
- 35:28time for me, and you can catch the story at Dave Bowman
- 35:32show.com, Dave. We are at the end of the hour my
- 35:35friend. Thank you.
- 35:36Always enjoyable. Look forward to talking to you
- 35:38next week, holiday or not pal. All right.
- 35:41Enjoy your Columbus Day tomorrow, everybody.
- 35:42That's what I'm talking about on my shows.
- 35:44There you go. That'll be good.
- 35:46Catch up with him and you can link to it.
- 35:47It Bill mc.com. Thanks to the MacPherson
- 35:49Financial Group for this hour catch.
- 35:51The podcast at bill mc.com, when you get the opportunity and
- 35:55we'll see you in the morning at six.
