  [SPEAKER_00]: They want to have the fifth round pick for Travis Houtin and they want to have the sixth round pick for Greg Newsom.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Those are 20, 27 draft picks, but they can help the Jaguar's be aggressive and trades at any point, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I made this list yesterday and I do believe overnight, one of the players on this list signed with the Eagles and that was Arnold Evercetti

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Arnold Ebiketti signed a 1 year 7.3 million dollar deal with the Eagles, max deal with the Eagles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that was the kind of contract that would not impact the Comp formula, Comp Egg formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: With Danny Strigger, with BJ Green, somebody who has a little bit more experience in those guys, maybe a little bit more past rush prowess right now than those two guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I want to see them develop in the Jaguar system, but the jacks are in a season in which they should be pushing for a title.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so I do think getting another high quality, whether it's edge or interior defense of Lyman or both, it is still very much a priority.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So as I mentioned, there's a lot of other vets out there that don't have specific connection points

  [SPEAKER_00]: He obviously has a big connection with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would not be shocked if the Jaguars end up bringing him back at some point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did not have a great year for the Jaguars, but I do think he executed certain assignments very well, and he also was very versatile for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He lined up in the B-Gap and over the Tackle often, he also lined up outside, often, outside the Tackle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you're talking about several different spots that he was helping the Jaguars execute what they were trying to execute.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't a prolific past-wrestier last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't really, in my opinion, asked to be a prolific pastor.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was asked to execute assignments and in a lot of situations help free up other guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think in that regard, he did a pretty good job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But overall, you don't look at the numbers and say, this guy was incredibly effective and explosive and all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think when you just watch him on a given play, you can see how that play is working and how to want to smooth helps in that regard.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not only did he play almost all of his career in Jacksonville, the one year he wasn't in Jacksonville, 2024, he was coached by Matt Edwards, the Jaguar's defensive line coach who also coach him in 2025 in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that they obviously like him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's possible he could return and I say edge defender.

  [SPEAKER_00]: really is just a versatile defensive lineman at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think with the Jaguars roster be better right now, if Smoot was on it, then then it currently is, I do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's just a glue player at this point, but I would like to see somebody who could provide a little bit more past-rush juice personally.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so there's a couple guys there that I do think make a good amount of sense that also have connections to the Jaguar's current coaching staff slash front office.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Los Angeles ramps, less need James Gladstone in company, and he's mostly like when he's gotten reps throughout his career, productive player, like highly productive past Russia throughout his career, as a rotational player, like that's pretty much exactly what you're looking for.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I remember when he played for the Texans, I thought he was a demon.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was a problem to deal with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And now, he's a type of player coming off of a tricep stair, where maybe it could be a signing after the draft,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know, don't know what his markets look like right now, but maybe similar to like a Dennis Gardeck who was coming off injury, you could add him later on and he could actually be like an impact player for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And there will be Ed Dressers after the draft that can help you in free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a premium position, but there's a lot of guys who can execute in different roles.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And at this point, there will still be signings, like Arnold Ibucaddi last night.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There will still be signings, but a lot more teams are also gonna be more willing to say, let's go into the draft, see what we can accomplish there, and then circle back to free agency after the draft if we don't get done what we wanna get done in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Cleveland in 2024 was his least productive year, but still he had 24 pressures on 275 pass rush naps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Year before that in Cleveland, 2023, 33 pressures on 287 pass rush naps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Year before that, 36 pressures on 268 pass rush naps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These are solid numbers, especially for a rotational guy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: throughout this offseason for the Jaguars and then a much bigger name but still somebody who has connection points to this this group Leonard Floyd he's going to be 34 years old up there in age certainly but he spent time with the Los Angeles Rams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and was a big part of some pretty damn good Los Angeles Ram's teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now he is becoming more of a rotational edge at this point in his career.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In 2023, double digit sacks, 45 pressures on 425 pass rush snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: In 2024 with the 49ers, he had 11 sacks, 44 pressures on 373 pass rush snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then this past year, and Atlanta, he had 36 pressures for sacks on 287 pass rush snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is the type of guy that I mean, can really help you in my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever the number would be, it needs to be in the threshold underneath what would impact the compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, there are other players in that mold, but these were the ones with specific connection points to the Jaguars.
