- 0:48Sean McAllister: The Oakland A's announced that the team has reached a deal to buy a plot of land near Allegiance Stadium, where the team plans to build a brand new retractable roof stadium.
- 1:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, this is the most significant sign yet that the team will relocate to the desert from the Bay Area in California and become the Las Vegas A's.
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: The team hopes to break ground next year and probably start playing ball sometime in 2027 here in Las Vegas.
- 1:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this is not a done deal just yet, but it is a very promising step forward to have Major League Baseball here in Las Vegas.
- 1:28Sean McAllister: Of course, we're gonna stay on top of developments and bring you details as they happen.
- 1:33Sean McAllister: Did you know that Las Vegas visitors can walk up to eight miles per day?

- 2:59Dayna Roselli: Hey everyone, welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 165.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you know, every, I don't know, like 20 episodes, I always like to reset and let people know who we are.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: It's something that we read about a lot when folks start a podcast or continue to do a podcast.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: We always have new listeners.
- 3:21Sean McAllister: Well, and we've noticed over the past several weeks that that there have been new people tuning in.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: So we want to say welcome and thank you, and I'll try also let you know who we are and why we're doing this.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: And we always kind of check like our top markets too in the United States.
- 3:36Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, hey, Phoenix, hey, Houston, and hey, Los Angeles, um, some of our top three cities right now.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: So we got a bunch of people listening from over there.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: Something about us is we've been in in TV broadcasting for a very long time and a large portion of our careers in Las Vegas.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: We have interviewed a lot of people, we do a lot of things, we know a lot of people.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: And so when we decided to do this podcast, we thought, gosh, we have so much knowledge and so much experience here and continue to live here, and it's a part of our lifestyle.
- 4:10Dayna Roselli: Let's share some of that with the world.
- 4:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, and obviously, Las Vegas is uh one of the top tourist destinations in the entire world, obviously here in the US too.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: So it is of interest.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: The the entertainment that's coming here, the hotel experiences, uh, the attractions that you can take part in while you're here in Las Vegas, and some interesting tidbits from stuff outside of the Las Vegas Strip Corridor, too.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: So now we do so many things, but anything in the media world.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: Um, if anyone needs any services, is interested in chatting about that, you can always email us.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: You know where to find us, hit our socials.
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: Um, but we also have social media across the board for our company, and our website is insightfulmediaco.com.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Let's move on to what I did last week.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: I had a little bit of a jury duty week, not a day, a week, because I actually got put on a trial.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: I was serving on a civil trial here in Las Vegas.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: So you were like juror number three?
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: That was juror number nine.
- 5:15Sean McAllister: Number nine, okay.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Um, it was very interesting.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: I'm not going to get into the details.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: Some of it, I know that you can talk about it, but some of it I almost feel like is a little private.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: Uh just because I don't know.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: It was a certain case between two people, and I don't think anyone needs to hear about their personal business.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: But it was a civil trial.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: It did involve some injury and an accident and a lot of witness testimony, experts flown in from out of town.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: Extremely interesting to hear both sides of a story, and in many ways have the honor of being part of coming up with the final decision in that case.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: It's it's a lot of pressure, and you take that, you know.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: For me especially, I just, you know, I took that very seriously.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: I and I know I've served on one jury before and, you know, made it all the way through to the end until you know something happened at the end.
- 6:10Sean McAllister: But this was your first time on jury duty, wasn't it?
- 6:13Sean McAllister: First time serving, yes.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: I've been on jury, I get picked all the time, but I never make it.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: Oh, you never make it into the jury box.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: No, and it was different this time too.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: In the past, I filled out like a form about the like we we got brought in and we had to got like a packet of what the case was about.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: And do you know any of these people, this and that?
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Um, and I remember in a few instances I did know people that were testifying and I knew I would be, you know, let go.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Um, but this time we got moved right into a courtroom and were asked one-on-one, face to face, with a group of people and the attorneys representing the plaintiff and the defendant questions.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: And then they kept weeding out, weeding out, you know, until it got to, and I kept getting moved over.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh boy, I'm gonna get chosen to be on this trial.
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: Anyway, I did.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: And listen, I think everyone likes a good journalist, right?
- 7:04Sean McAllister: We listen to the facts, it's true and ask a lot of questions.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: Um, I must say though, you know, I enjoyed meeting new people.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: You're with this this jury for a week and you get to know them, and you get to know new people that may not we we run we know a lot of people, but we run in a lot of the same circles.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: We know the same people, we meet people in our industry, we meet people who do so.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: It was so nice to be with a variety of people who do different things for a week and get to know them.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: So made some friends off of that.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: And Sean, I got my check yesterday.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Oh, and and it was$160.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: You get$40 a day.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: And I got a little emotional.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: It was a little letter in there saying thanking, you know, thanking me for being a part of the process that everyone has a due right to take advantage of.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: So I was like, oh, it made me feel good.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: Well, here's the thing, you know what?
- 8:01Sean McAllister: As much as it can be a pain and a time suck to serve on jury and go down, even if you're called for jury and you never make it to trial, if you were on the flip side of it, if you were the plaintiff or defendant, like you really hope that the people who are sitting there listening to your case are going to take it seriously, are going to listen, and are are going to, you know, act fairly in their decision.
- 8:31Sean McAllister: So, you know, when you think of it like that, it is a big responsibility to go and sit in that box.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: And they treat you, you're right.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: And the way that they treat you almost makes you feel that way even more than you should.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: You know, it's like all rise for the jury.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: It's like, oh my gosh, like what?
- 8:48Sean McAllister: Like And now Dana expects everybody to stand up when she walks into a room.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: So I enjoyed it.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: I won't go on and on because I know we've got to move on, but um, some people were asking, like, where have you been on social media and stuff?
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: So that's where I was uh serving on jury duty.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: Um, but now that I'm out of jury duty, we had a birthday to celebrate this week.
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: It was Sean's birthday.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: Happy birthday, Sean.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: Thank you very much.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: And we decided to celebrate at a place that I recommended called Brew Dog.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: Now they had an opening a while ago.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: You couldn't make it, but I went.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: And I was raving about it.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: And I said, the patio is 360 degrees, they've got fire pits going, it's beautiful, the food was good, the the beer was good.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: I know you love a good brewery.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: I do love a good brewery.
- 9:36Sean McAllister: So And this is a three-level brew house and restaurant.
- 9:42Sean McAllister: And after you know, hearing everything, I was excited.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: I was like, yeah, let's do this.
- 9:46Sean McAllister: I like this idea.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: And I also recommended it on the podcast.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: So whenever I recommend something because I have a good experience, and I tell people to go there, I really feel obligated to get on here and tell you if I've had a bad experience.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: Um, and uh bad is a strong word.
- 10:03Dayna Roselli: Uh was a little disappointed this time when we went to brewdog.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: Let's put it that way.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna run down just some of the reasons.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: We called to reserve a table because we had a bunch of us.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: Um, in that reservation, we were never told the patio was bought out for the evening.
- 10:18Sean McAllister: So we Which is like the starring attraction of the establishment.
- 10:23Sean McAllister: And if you even go to their website, the only pictures that they have scrolling across the top are of the patio.
- 10:29Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: And, you know, for locals, it's a fee to get on.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: This is a difficult place to get to, I'll be honest.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: You've got to find that back lot that only allows a few cars.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: And if not, you've got to park at a strip casino garage and walk, or you can park at the showcase mall parking garage.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: There's a fee.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: I think it was$14.99.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: There was also some service fee to park there, uh, kind of get down to the ground floor, walk out, find it.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: So it's not easy to get to.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: So we made the effort for the patio vibe so that we could celebrate your birthday and make it special and do, you know, something different, very Vegasy.
- 11:11Dayna Roselli: We did not get that because we were told the patio was closed, we could not go up there at all.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: But that was never said when we called to make the reservation.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: Then when we went to check out, we were told on our little app that to pay for the parking garage, you can get your you know, like vet your parking ticket validated if you, you know, kind of like ate nearby or utilized.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: And so um we asked, and we so we paid the bill, and then we asked, can we get our parking validated?
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: They're like, Oh, you should you could have told your waiter and they would have given you 10% off your bill if you paid for parking.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: And I said, Well, we didn't know that.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: And she's like, sorry.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: So they didn't care.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: Um, they weren't the waiter was fine, but he was kind of, I was like, Oh, so we can't go up to the pet.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: He's like, I don't know.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: You'll have to it just wasn't like a great experience overall.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: And I was disappointed because I tell people to go there, and so I wanted to say, hey, here's what you need to do if you want to expect the first evening that I told you about.
- 12:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 12:14Sean McAllister: Well, I and I think each of those is is a fair critique.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: Very fair.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: And if you want uh a local audience to you know patronize your establishment, you you do need to make it easy for them.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: You do and let them know the things that are available, especially when it comes to like discounts and parking.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, the the food is good there, the beer is good, it's a great atmosphere, the three levels are nice, but if you're going there for that experience, um, I guess just what what we recommend is if you call to reserve first of all, do call, reserve a table and uh or an area and ask if the patio will be open for the evening.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: If you park nearby and you paid to park, tell your waiter before you cash out the check, and apparently you can get 10% off.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: All right.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: Well, with all that said, we were in good company and I had a great time.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was fun.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: No, we did have a nice time, and that's the thing.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: In the end, we made the best of it because we celebrated Sean.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: We had great conversation and a lot of laughs.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: So that's all that matters in the end.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: But really would have loved to sit on that patio.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: While we were there, um, so anyway, at the end, we did kind of sneak up to the patio just so I could show you what it looked like from up there.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: Um, and I snapped a quick picture of the polo towers behind me.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: And I posted something online that said, Hey, you know, it's it's one tower that I hasn't been here since I moved here, since I moved here in 2004, is the polo towers.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: I've never, being so such a Vegas cheerleader and person who's been everywhere, I've never been inside the polo towers.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: Like, what's it like?
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: And it created this whole conversation.
- 14:03Sean McAllister: Well, and apparently, this was uh in a time before either of us lived in Las Vegas.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: The Polo Towers was like the place to be.
- 14:13Sean McAllister: Before all these mega resorts were built up, apparently Polo Towers was one of the tallest buildings on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: And because of this kind of glass rotunda, this round glass thing that juts out of the front where there's a lounge, it was one of the best views in Las Vegas for years.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: I know, and you can see it, and I always wondered.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: And so, like everyone was commenting saying, Hey, I used to go to if we had a special event, we would go there.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: Um we went there after, you know, or we had our like holiday party there, or oh my gosh, I used to go up there with friends for drinks.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: One girl wrote that the people she would meet in her AOL chat rooms, she would meet up there at the lounge at the polo towers.
- 15:03Sean McAllister: That's not a sign of the times.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: I don't know what is.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: But and then people were saying the rooftop pool was amazing, and that at one point it was a club, a nightclub called Hush.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: They were saying, like, before there was Pure Nightclub and Omnia, there was Hush.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, really?
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: So it was interesting to read all about that.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: You and I finally like dug in a little bit and we noticed it's a timeshare now, right?
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: A Hilton timeshare?
- 15:26Sean McAllister: I believe so, yeah.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: And people were saying that um they don't think the lounge is open to the public anymore, even if it still exists.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: So it's not something you can go to.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: But I'm like, man, bring it back.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: Bring back Hush, bring back the polo lounge.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: It sounds great.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: And one person said that that uh lounge they thought might have even been converted into a meeting room.
- 15:45Sean McAllister: It's like, no, when you have a great place like that, yeah, you gotta keep it.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: I wonder, and I just, you know what I really wondered is that we have so many places in Las Vegas where we talk about the history.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: Uh, remember this, remember that, and this person and that.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: And I just feel like no one really ever talks about the toll polo towers until I asked.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: Well, and here's the thing if anybody is listening and you went there and have any pictures from inside, yeah, you know, I would love to see that because even the things that we, you know, when we were looking online, I could find no pictures from back then.
- 16:23Sean McAllister: Like there were some current, more current pictures, but nothing of like the nightclub days or anything.
- 16:30Sean McAllister: And I mean, really, did anybody really take cameras out to the club?
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Oh, you're right.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Back in the day, nobody had phones or anything.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: So when you went out like at night, there were like if there was a show or event or something like that.
- 16:41Sean McAllister: Right, but you wouldn't normally just like throw your disposable camera in, or like maybe if you had one of those digital cameras, but even that's a stretch.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: Um, I know when we were talking, uh, somebody here, uh yeah, I thought this was a good comment.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: This is from Doug Brawley.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: He said, I worked as a bellman and a valet and a parking attendant back in 1995.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: He said it was mainly a timeshare back then and monthly residence, but he said actor George Hamilton lived there.
- 17:08Sean McAllister: Oh.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: And he said he met Robbie Kneevel there as well.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: Huh?
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: Isn't that interesting?
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: He said the rooms had kitchenettes and a living room and up to three bedrooms.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: It was a nice place.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: Used to be a Diamond Resort's property run by the Klubex, but um, like we mentioned now, it looks like it's changed hands to Hilton.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: So that's our update on the polo towers.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: I want to like go in there and tour it now, but I don't know if we'd be able to.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: Maybe we do like a we can talk our way in.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: Knock on the door and film it kind of there.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: We're here to see the inside of the polo towers.
- 17:39Sean McAllister: But it's not an expose, we promise.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: Unless it turns into one.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: Hey, you know, uh, spring has sprung here in Las Vegas.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: If you are an allergy sufferer, you will know it when you are here right now, especially with the wind we've been having.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: Uh, but something else that's been popping up all over town, aside from flowers, are traffic cones.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 18:01Sean McAllister: And they are, if you follow the traffic cones down on Las Vegas Boulevard, you are pretty much going to be following the course of the Formula One race that is coming up this fall.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: And those road cones are out because the construction is in full swing along the entire race course, and it is slowing down traffic big time.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: It is, and we told you it was coming, and and it they started quickly.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: So Sean and I both, well, when we were going to brew dog, got caught in some traffic.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: It's it's torn up, they are in full force, which is smart because it's cooler right now.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: Because I do think about those construction crews in the heart of the summer tearing up that road.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, maybe they're getting a big lead on it, but um, it's for the you know, the F1, the Formula One race that's coming here in the fall.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: A lot of adjustments to be made around the strip.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: So no matter what, always add in 20 minutes to your trip if you need to be somewhere on time for sure, because it's gonna take you longer.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: You can see a map at Vegas-revealed.com and some information there.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: But just a heads up that traffic at the construction that we were talking about is now happening.
- 19:16Sean McAllister: Now through September, yeah, they'll be paving.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind.
- 19:21Sean McAllister: Add in some extra time.
- 19:23Sean McAllister: Uh, shall we get to some music news?
- 19:25Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: Um, I love when you and I get a press release and then we Google the group person, whatever it is.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: Who is, and then we go, oh, I know them.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: But we noticed this was kind of a big deal.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: And everyone who's a fan of Blackpink is gonna be upset with us that we didn't know who they were.
- 19:45Sean McAllister: But we do know who they are now that we Google now that we know, now that we listen to the music, we're like, oh, okay.
- 19:52Sean McAllister: So I do know black pink.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: We went right to iTunes.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: So they're coming to Allegiant Stadium.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Uh really cool.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: They've been headlining over at Coachella.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: So apparently, you know, global superstars, Blackpink, they announced this world tour, Born Pink, and it's gonna be in North America.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: This kind of encore to that world tour is gonna be in North America.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: They're not doing that many stops, Sean.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: And I love that Las Vegas made the list.
- 20:18Sean McAllister: Well, I think it's a perfect, a perfect place to do especially this kind of music where it is like that kind of festival kind of vibe that really gets people like moving in a in a rhythm, yeah, excuse me, in a rhythm together.
- 20:35Sean McAllister: And you know, I'm sure that when they're on stage, they can see the crowd, you know, bopping.
- 20:40Sean McAllister: Um, so I mean, making doing it here in Las Vegas makes sense, especially given that we, you know, have EDC and you know, lovers and friends like all these music festivals, life is beautiful.
- 20:52Sean McAllister: Um, so this is a good stop.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: It is, and they're doing uh Metlef Stadium in uh New Jersey, they are doing Oracle Park in San Francisco and Los Angeles uh the Dodger Stadium, they're doing it there, and then Allegiant.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: That's it.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: So our show is August 18th, and tickets will go on sale to the public on April 28th.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: Um, I have a feeling this will fill up quick.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: They have so many hits.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: Fantastic.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: We were even watching some videos.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: I think this is gonna be a really fun show.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: So August 18th, if you want to go see Blackpink.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: Uh, throwing it back a little bit for this next act, Morris Day and the Time are coming here to Las Vegas.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: Uh and it's for the coinciding with the 39th anniversary of Purple Rain.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: So if you don't know, Morris Day and uh Prince go way back to like high school days.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: And so they worked together uh as they were both coming up in in music.
- 21:56Sean McAllister: So there's a very strong connection there.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And we were looking up some of the old videos, and I was like, listen, this song, Jungle Love, is so good, right?
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: Ohie, OE, oh.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: And um, so anyway, that's gonna just rock the house.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: I know that the strat is gonna be uh packed for this show.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: They're doing two shows, actually.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: It's July 28th and July 29th.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: It's Morris Day and the time at the Strat.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: It's their exclusive Las Vegas performances, and like you said, um coinciding with the Purple Rain anniversary.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: So um, and then we looked it up and you know, we we realized that Morris Day is actually in Purple Rain, and he had that kind of scene-stealing breakout performance in the movie where he's actually performing the other song that they're very, very well known for.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: They're well known for so many songs, but the one that I know best, and I can't think of the name of it.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: Oh, the bird.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: So um, they are going to be performing over at the Strat.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: Look forward to having that show here.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: I have never heard of them performing here before, but I could be dismissing that.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: Uh, I know that he uh he's come through several times.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: I remember uh we used to have him in on our our show quite a bit.
- 23:08Sean McAllister: Um so yeah, he's no stranger to Las Vegas.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but I don't know, did he come with the time?
- 23:13Sean McAllister: I believe the time was around.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Could okay, got it.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: So it was, yeah.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: Like I said, I might have missed that one.
- 23:20Sean McAllister: So but it was years ago.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: It was not recent.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: Well, two very different things from Blackpink to Morris Day in the Time.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: We have variety here in Las Vegas.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: Um, also coming up, the chicks are gonna be performing over at the backed theater at Planet Hollywood.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Their show's coming up, and then David Spade and Nikki Glacier are kicking off their comedy show over at the Venetian soon, and they've got a number of dates coming up.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: They're kind of doing like two, two, two, like all separated.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: So plenty of chance to see them.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna go check out that show and I look forward to it.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: I met Nikki on a red carpet recently, and she just seemed fabulous and funny.
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: And I started following her on Instagram, and she makes me laugh.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Oh, that'll be good.
- 23:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, there'll be a good duo, a good night.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: Hey, and a quick mention if you go into our show notes, we have a link there that says support the show.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: And now they're allowing us to do monthly subscriptions.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: So basically, you would pick a small amount and we would actually get that every month.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: You would show your support and it would allow us to be able to do this weekly podcast and put as much time into it that we do because it's kind of, as we've mentioned before, a little bit of a hobby for us.
- 24:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, for as little as$3 a month, which is less than a cup of coffee, let's be real.
- 24:33Sean McAllister: Uh, your support can help us continue doing what we do each week.
- 24:39Sean McAllister: More support equals more time and energy that we can put toward Vegas Revealed.
- 24:44Dayna Roselli: And listen, we are going to give you a shout-out if you do that.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: So if you do support us, we get an alert and we'll make sure to give you a little shout out.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: And also feel free to write us ideas at vegas-revealed.com.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: Let us know.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: Hey, you know, I donated, and here's what I do.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: Could you give me a shout-out about my business or anything?
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: Or I'm a fan of Las Vegas.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: I visit from Germany every year, whatever you'd like us to say.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: Just click the link that we have down in our show notes and support Vegas Revealed.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 25:22Sean McAllister: You know, Dana, anyone who spent time in the desert knows that we have some of the most spectacular sunsets anywhere.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: They're just beautiful.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: They are.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: And now the cosmopolitan is taking advantage of those sunsets by having a sunset cocktail hour at the Boulevard Pool.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: Isn't this a great idea?
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 25:42Sean McAllister: I mean brilliant.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: First of all, the pool, Boulevard Pool, that patio is great.
- 25:48Dayna Roselli: And it's something that they have actually done a really good job utilizing, but I love that they've thrown this into the mix, you know.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: Totally.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: And it's from 6:30 to 8:30.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: It's already started.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: It's gonna run through September 22nd.
- 26:03Dayna Roselli: They have a DJ, uh, live music, cocktails, light bites, all that stuff.
- 26:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this is a great way as you know, the sun is dipping down over the horizon just to, you know, cheers with your mates and uh then either go to bed for the night or just start your night.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: Or just start right.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: And also it's every Friday.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: So just uh so you don't show up on a Wednesday.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: It's Fridays, 6 30 to 8 30.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: We went, check our social media.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: We'll have some videos up there to kind of show you the vibe and everything like that.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: But we enjoyed it so much.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: And like you said, Sean, sunset hour is one of the best, sunset hours, one of the best hours uh of Las Vegas.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: And I always wondered, I think it's because we don't have a lot of high trees and it's not like a hilly because the because we sit in the you know in the bowl.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: It's flat, the bowl is what we get to see our sunsets, you know, so well.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: Um, so yeah, sunset cocktail hour at the cosmopolitan, go there until September 22nd.
- 27:07Sean McAllister: Something else we wanted to let you know about is uh a new art experience that is happening over at Resorts World.
- 27:17Sean McAllister: It's called Transfix.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: It's now open, and this is gonna be here through the fall as well.
- 27:23Dayna Roselli: So I love this.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: Like the all these things that are kicking off, they're gonna be going all summer.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: Um, and Transfix is actually stopping in Las Vegas first.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: So we're kind of like the starting ground, and they plan to tour with this globally.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: Um, it's a massive space.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: It's gonna it includes over 50 installations across this venue.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: It's an indoor-outdoor space at Resorts World, and the installations are really interactive.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: Some were like even breathing fire.
- 27:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 27:54Sean McAllister: So these are the the art installations that we're talking about are the kinds of things that you would see at EDC, the Electric Daisy Carnival, uh, Coachella, Burning Man.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: And actually, some of them have come from those festivals, but there's new sculptures and art installations as well.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: There's also 10 bars throughout, including a speakeasy.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: And apparently, even uh like this is art inspired.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: So, like the bars are art inspired.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: Like everything has like an art inspiration, and there's so many artists on board for this.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: Anyway, you and I actually um I'm gonna have to say we did go, but uh we we will talk more in detail about this at a future date.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: Um, and you can check our again our our social media for videos on this because I think we can probably describe a little more, but it is open, and we wanted to let people know that it's open, it exists, and it's probably something you want to add to your list if you're coming here this summer.
- 28:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, and if uh we'll have the link down in our show notes, but it's transfixart.com uh for tickets.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: Set aside about two hours for this experience, so it'll take some time, which is good.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: Kills time to get you away from the slot machine for a little bit.
- 29:06Sean McAllister: Uh that is episode 165 of Vegas Revealed.
- 29:10Sean McAllister: Remember, if you'd like to uh support the show monthly, there is a a link down in our show notes where you can do that.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
- 29:24Sean McAllister: We got bills to pay, packing up a suitcase, let's take a holiday.
