- 0:20Speaker 1: Good morning. Thank you for joining us today as we
- 0:22Speaker 1: get ready for our morning devotion. This morning's devotion is
- 0:26Speaker 1: for anyone who really struggles with trying to understand everything
- 0:32Speaker 1: all at once before you make a decision or before
- 0:35Speaker 1: you can really move forward. You just feel like you
- 0:37Speaker 1: have to understand everything all at once. I'm sure on
- 0:41Speaker 1: some level all of us are kind of guilty of that.
- 0:44Speaker 1: So that's this morning's devotion that comes to us out
- 0:47Speaker 1: of Isaiah chapter fifty five, verses eight and nine. And
- 0:52Speaker 1: we know these scriptures are many of us do, but
- 0:55Speaker 1: I want you to listen to them this morning, as
- 0:57Speaker 1: those are fresh revelations from the Lord Lord, because he says,
- 1:01Speaker 1: for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your
- 1:06Speaker 1: ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens
- 1:11Speaker 1: are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
- 1:15Speaker 1: than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. See,
- 1:21Speaker 1: there are some things in life that simply don't make
- 1:24Speaker 1: sense to us at the time, especially while we're living
- 1:27Speaker 1: through those moments. We pray for one thing and then
- 1:30Speaker 1: something completely different seems to happen. Maybe a door that
- 1:34Speaker 1: you were certain would open suddenly doesn't open the way
- 1:37Speaker 1: you thought it would. Plans change, people change, even circumstances
- 1:42Speaker 1: can take an unexpected turn, and what happens is we
- 1:45Speaker 1: find ourselves wondering how any of it could be possibly
- 1:49Speaker 1: fit into what God was we thought what God was
- 1:53Speaker 1: doing in our lives at the time. See, the problem
- 1:56Speaker 1: isn't always that God isn't giving us an answer. Sometimes
- 2:01Speaker 1: the problem is that we're trying to understand the whole
- 2:04Speaker 1: picture while only being able to see a small part
- 2:08Speaker 1: at the moment. I'm reminded of this, and I thought
- 2:12Speaker 1: about this this morning as I was reading that. On
- 2:16Speaker 1: our recent trip to Colorado, of course, you know, we
- 2:19Speaker 1: used the GPS like most people do, and on two
- 2:22Speaker 1: different occasions, I thought I knew more than the GPS knew.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm sure I'm not the only one that's ever done that.
- 2:31Speaker 1: It seemed to be leading me in a direction that,
- 2:35Speaker 1: in my mind I knew was not the right way
- 2:37Speaker 1: to go, only to realize that in those two instants
- 2:44Speaker 1: that GPS was seeing further down the road that there
- 2:47Speaker 1: was some construction and there were some things going on
- 2:49Speaker 1: that it would be quicker and easier to navigate me
- 2:53Speaker 1: around those circumstances. So I had to learn to trust
- 2:58Speaker 1: what I could not see at the moment. And so
- 3:02Speaker 1: as I begin to look at that and I think
- 3:04Speaker 1: about that, if that were true for that situation, how
- 3:08Speaker 1: much more does God's positioning system? No more than I do?
- 3:14Speaker 1: God said through Isaiah, from my thoughts are not your thoughts,
- 3:17Speaker 1: Neither are your ways my ways? What's the Lord trying
- 3:22Speaker 1: to tell us? I see down the road further than
- 3:25Speaker 1: you do. I know what's coming, and I know what
- 3:29Speaker 1: you need to avoid. So all we needed And now
- 3:33Speaker 1: that's humbling to us, but it's also very comforting because
- 3:37Speaker 1: God sees what we cannot see see. We see what's
- 3:41Speaker 1: going on today, but God already sees tomorrow. We see
- 3:45Speaker 1: that closed door we just talked about, but God sees
- 3:48Speaker 1: what was on the other side of that door. And
- 3:51Speaker 1: while we were not ready for that yet, we see
- 3:54Speaker 1: the delay. But God sees what he's developing during our
- 3:59Speaker 1: waiting process. So I hope he understand that this morning
- 4:03Speaker 1: that we see something that appears to be falling apart,
- 4:08Speaker 1: God may see something that he already knows that he's
- 4:11Speaker 1: putting the pieces together that's going to be a masterpiece.
- 4:15Speaker 1: If we could just be patient and wait on the Lord,
- 4:19Speaker 1: have you ever looked back over your life and realized
- 4:22Speaker 1: that something you once questioned actually worked out for your
- 4:26Speaker 1: good and even better than you thought it would. Maybe
- 4:31Speaker 1: there was a disappointment in your life, but it redirected
- 4:34Speaker 1: you the delay that protected you an unexpected change in
- 4:39Speaker 1: your life that eventually led somewhere that you would have
- 4:42Speaker 1: never gone on your own had the Lord not redirected
- 4:46Speaker 1: you into that position. You couldn't see it then, but
- 4:51Speaker 1: God saw it, and that's what we need to rejoice
- 4:54Speaker 1: in this morning. We don't have to understand everything. We
- 4:58Speaker 1: just have to trust the one who does understand everything.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Please hear this truth this morning. Faith does not mean
- 5:07Speaker 1: that we will always understand what God is doing. Sometimes
- 5:11Speaker 1: faith simply means trusting the one who sees more than
- 5:15Speaker 1: we do. Maybe you're holding one small piece of your
- 5:19Speaker 1: life today and wondering, God, where does this belong? You
- 5:23Speaker 1: prayed about it, You've thought about it from every angle possible,
- 5:29Speaker 1: You've tried to make sense of it, but you still
- 5:32Speaker 1: can't see the whole picture. That's okay this morning, you
- 5:36Speaker 1: don't have to understand it yet. Place that piece into
- 5:40Speaker 1: the hands of the one who already has the complete picture.
- 5:44Speaker 1: In mind, and this morning, just keep praying, keep walking,
- 5:48Speaker 1: keep trusting, keep being obedient, day by day, moment by moment,
- 5:53Speaker 1: decision by decision. Just trust the Lord. And God never
- 5:58Speaker 1: asks us to understand and everything. He just asked us
- 6:02Speaker 1: to trust the one who has everything under his control.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Perhaps one day you'll look back and finally see how
- 6:10Speaker 1: the pieces fit together. But until then, I want you
- 6:14Speaker 1: to remember what doesn't make sense from where you're standing
- 6:19Speaker 1: looks completely different from God's view. So today you be safe,
- 6:25Speaker 1: you be strong, and you be blessed. Lord's will will
- 6:29Speaker 1: see you back here again tomorrow. Have a great day.
