- 0:01Could the timing of this chapter be any more coincidental?
- 0:05This is very, very interesting. The date today is September
- 0:1112th, 2025 and that we are going to be covering Joel chapter 3.
- 0:20So let's get started. Dear God, there is so much going
- 0:24on in the world and we need you so badly.
- 0:29We really need to take Your Word seriously and take it to heart.
- 0:38Please give us wisdom as we read through this chapter.
- 0:42Please let the Holy Spirit open our eyes.
- 0:47Let us see what You have shared so many thousands of years ago
- 0:53with the prophet Joel and let us learn from this and let us apply
- 0:58it to our lives and do to come away with being in a good
- 1:07relationship with you. I ask for this in Jesus name,
- 1:11Amen. So this is talking about the
- 1:14nation's being judged. Chapter 3.
- 1:19In those days, at that time when I restore the fortunes of Judah
- 1:27and Jerusalem, OK, stop right there.
- 1:32Have the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem been restored?
- 1:38You know, some might say, yes. I mean, they're doing well.
- 1:41They're very prosperous right now and.
- 1:44That could be. That some of it has.
- 1:47But then as we read further it, this is a future time.
- 1:51This is not now. This is still in the future.
- 1:54And let's go back again to say when Joel was written, it was
- 2:02written around 8:35 to 796 approximately BC.
- 2:08So this is almost like 3000 years ago when this was written.
- 2:13And so he's a he's a prophet and he saw something or received the
- 2:19word from God and he documented this and you know, all these
- 2:24years people have set seen this. But when you when we start going
- 2:29through this and I start bringing out some of the details
- 2:33of this, you will probably be a little.
- 2:37Is this coincidence that so? Many things are happening right
- 2:42now. It's really it's it's.
- 2:45It's going well. Did it?
- 2:47Did me. It's just like, whoa.
- 2:49This is this is very timely right now, like I said,
- 2:51September 2025, OK, So in those days, at that time, when I
- 2:58restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all
- 3:02nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
- 3:09There I will put them on trial. This is judgment.
- 3:14So that hasn't happened yet. God hasn't brought all nations
- 3:19to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. This is still in the future.
- 3:24So this still has not been fulfilled yet.
- 3:27There, I will put them on trial for what they did to my
- 3:32inheritance, my people Israel. God is still calling His people
- 3:40Israel. We there.
- 3:42Is a a wave of anti-Semitism coming across regarding Israel
- 3:53and Israel is being hated by many nations.
- 3:58In fact, this is really interesting that just I just
- 4:02received OK on Friday. Today is actually Friday,
- 4:05September 12th. On this day there was, I'm going
- 4:09to read what just happened because like I said, this timing
- 4:14is so crazy. So today the UN General Assembly
- 4:20a approved a declaration initiated by France and Saudi
- 4:25Arabia calling for support of the two state solution.
- 4:32The assembly convened today, Friday and passed the New York
- 4:37declaration. That's what it's called the New
- 4:40York Declaration by a vote of 142 in favor, 10 against and 12
- 4:53absence sanctions. The declaration addresses the
- 4:57Israeli Palestinian conflict and the implementation of A2 state
- 5:03solution. The proposal introduced by
- 5:08France and Saudi Arabia was first adopted at the New York
- 5:13conference held in July. It outlines an action plan
- 5:18intended according to its sponsors, sponsors to establish
- 5:23UN quote, irreversible path toward the creation of a
- 5:29Palestinian state. So a few of the highlights here.
- 5:37There is, there are most of the nations are in favor 142,
- 5:41there's ten against it and 12 that are abstaining from voting.
- 5:45So the majority is saying we need to do this, we need to
- 5:50divide the land and do A2 state solution in the name of peace.
- 5:57Really, you know, they want to do this so that they can
- 6:00establish peace because there's been these wars that are going
- 6:03on in the Middle East. And so they have these
- 6:06intentions and they are pushing this forward.
- 6:10And whether it happens, I don't know.
- 6:13But if it does happen, we could very well be in this time that
- 6:17I'm about to read in this chapter 3.
- 6:20So in it talking about a quote, irreversible path toward the
- 6:24creation of a Palestinian state. Now when I read Joel chapter 3,
- 6:30pay attention to the countries that are named here because
- 6:38you're going to find this really eye opening right now.
- 6:42When I did, I just was like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 6:47OK, so let's go back into what scripture.
- 6:50First of all, it says what time does this refer to?
- 6:52Here's question and answer from the Study Bible.
- 6:55The final cosmic struggle between good and evil when
- 7:00Christ returns like the the study Bible says this.
- 7:05Now remember, this was written almost 3000 years ago.
- 7:09What time does this refer to? The very first statement in
- 7:13those days and at that time. And this refers to the final
- 7:17cosmic struggle between good and evil when Christ returns.
- 7:22We need to be watchful and not only do we need to be watchful,
- 7:26but we need to be prepared and we need to prepare other people
- 7:31too, so that if this is. Happening because we're seeing
- 7:36the signs. If this has happened, we don't
- 7:40want. People to be subject to the
- 7:43wrath of God, because if your relationship with God if if you
- 7:49are. Rebelling against him.
- 7:52If you are keeping on sinning, you are subject to the wrath of
- 7:57God. Scripture says that.
- 7:59Scripture says those who keep on sinning are subject to the wrath
- 8:04of God. So this is a.
- 8:07Warning, you know they thank God if you're hearing this and you
- 8:10have time before Jesus returns that you can get your life in
- 8:14order so that you don't go through wrath.
- 8:18There may be consequences of whatever sin it is that you
- 8:22still have to deal with, but at least it won't be the wrath of
- 8:26God. And it does say in the Bible,
- 8:30and nobody likes to say this, but the fear of God is the
- 8:34beginning of wisdom when we comprehend the power that God
- 8:40has and that he will not be mocked.
- 8:44These words that he's given us, they aren't just fluff.
- 8:48They aren't just for our optional use.
- 8:52They are to warn us, but the God behind this is a loving God.
- 9:00But he's also. Just and when he says something,
- 9:04he means it. And there are warnings
- 9:09throughout Scripture and we as the world continue to ignore
- 9:16God's warnings. This Bible has been around for
- 9:19thousands of years. We don't read it.
- 9:23I'm not. I mean, not, not everybody.
- 9:25I mean, as the everyday person out on the street that you pass
- 9:30by, how many people do you think have read this Bible, have read
- 9:35this, who have studied this? It's not common for people to do
- 9:39that. The majority of the people have
- 9:42not the the majority of people might be just going to church
- 9:47every great once in a while. With Christians, I mean all
- 9:50Christians, then there's some, you know, who go every week and
- 9:55but those who go into the word of God and study it daily.
- 10:00There's smaller and smaller numbers when you get down to it.
- 10:04But the ones who read it daily and who study it and who live by
- 10:08it, they, they have more wisdom from God because they're reading
- 10:16what he gave to his prophets. They're reading the history and
- 10:23they're gaining an understanding of what is to come and a
- 10:28warning. And we who go through this, who
- 10:33read the Bible, who study the Bible, we will be blessed
- 10:36because if we listen to God's Word, if we pay attention to
- 10:40what he's saying, if we do what it says, like this is the answer
- 10:44book. And if we go to the answer book
- 10:48and we listen and we apply. What it says we're?
- 10:53Going to be fine. There's nothing to fear.
- 10:56But if we don't, it tells us we do have to fear because it will
- 11:02not go well. So I, I mean, OK, I've talked a
- 11:07little bit about this, so let's go.
- 11:09What is the Valley of Jehoshaphat?
- 11:11The city of Jerusalem overlooks this valley, which cuts a swath
- 11:15north of the Mount of Olives southward past the old city of
- 11:20Zion. This valley eventually joins the
- 11:23Valley of Hinnom, located southwest of Jerusalem.
- 11:28So this is this is very clearly in the Middle East, in
- 11:34Jerusalem, and God is going to gather all nations and bring
- 11:39them down to this valley. Then I won't, he says.
- 11:43And Joel then there, I'm sorry, there I will put them on trial
- 11:49for what they did to my inheritance, my people, Israel.
- 11:52There is punishment for all nations for what they did to
- 11:59Israel. Now, here's the reason why it
- 12:03says because. So God's giving a reason why
- 12:06he's going to bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
- 12:09Here's why he's going to do that.
- 12:11Because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up
- 12:19my land. Divided up my land.
- 12:23Listen to that. Divided up my land.
- 12:26What is being discussed right now apparently in New York, I
- 12:32thought this was going to be saved honestly for September
- 12:3522nd through 24th, that this was going to be talked about and
- 12:39maybe it will be talked about again and maybe this division of
- 12:42the land doesn't happen right now, but if at some point it
- 12:48will. Happen because prophecy says it
- 12:51will. But prophecy also says that
- 12:56that's when judgments going to come, sometime after the land
- 12:59gets divided. How soon after the land gets
- 13:03divided? It doesn't say here, but it says
- 13:05that God is not happy with this. So we have 142 nations right now
- 13:11that God is not happy with. There are 10 who said no to it.
- 13:15God's still happy with them. And then there's 12 who
- 13:20abstained. Whether or not they're for it or
- 13:22against it or just want to remain neutral, who knows?
- 13:25But God will judge those nations.
- 13:29And so if you, you should probably look up and see if
- 13:32you're a nation now, God isn't going to, I mean.
- 13:35He will judge the nation's. But if we are God's children, if
- 13:39we are obedient to God, we don't have to worry about this, we
- 13:41don't have to fear. So even if we belong to one of
- 13:44those nations, who? Is doing something against God
- 13:48voting against God? Essentially.
- 13:50God knows the person like. He it it's all on a personal
- 13:55basis that that we will be judged.
- 13:59But this is generality speaking and maybe because people are,
- 14:04you know, like the the generalization of the nation's
- 14:08all or majority are agreeing with us.
- 14:11You know, maybe that's it. So anyway, let's go back to
- 14:13Scripture. They cast lots for my people.
- 14:17Now that's casting. Lots is kind of like rolling the
- 14:20dice and, you know, making decisions.
- 14:22That's what they did back at that time to make decisions on
- 14:25things. But I'm just wondering like
- 14:29dividing up the land, casting the lots, is it also like?
- 14:32Casting a vote like this just happened.
- 14:35Like casting a lot. I don't know, that's just
- 14:38speculation right there. They cast lots from my people
- 14:42and traded boys for prostitutes. They sold girls for wine to
- 14:48drink. Don't really know how that
- 14:51applies and I don't know if that symbolism.
- 14:55Because a lot of times prostitutes are referred to as
- 14:59idolatry and it could be a literal or it could be symbolic,
- 15:04I don't know. And sold girls for wine to
- 15:07drink. I know there's been a lot of
- 15:08talking about the, I guess like sex trading too, that's occurred
- 15:16in this community that came to in.
- 15:18Not in this community, in this world, sex trafficking and, and,
- 15:23and so there's that, you know, maybe this is referring to that,
- 15:27I don't know. But those, those topics are
- 15:31certainly topics that are in the news that are being talked about
- 15:34today. And it's it's interesting that
- 15:38the all this stuff is mentioned right here and it about the
- 15:42judgment of the nations. Now here's where it it's like
- 15:47whoa, now what you have now what have you against me, Tyre and
- 15:56Sidon and all you regions of. Philistia OK, today that means
- 16:02like, what do we? You know, like Tyre, we might
- 16:05recognize Sidon maybe, but it's like, OK, these are names from
- 16:10like, if you're not in the Middle East and you're in the
- 16:12United States, you may not have any idea like where are these
- 16:16places? Well, Tyre and Sidon is in
- 16:18Lebanon in the modern day Lebanon.
- 16:22So God is saying now what have you against me?
- 16:26If you want to say Lebanon, but he talks about two cities,
- 16:29Lebanon and all you regions of Philistia.
- 16:33Well, where is Philistia? Philistia is Gaza, so that's the
- 16:38land of the Philistines, That's the land of Gaza today.
- 16:43So he's talking about Lebanon and Gaza.
- 16:45What have you against me? Lebanon and Gaza.
- 16:48What kind of turmoil's happening right now?
- 16:51Right now we're seeing turmoil in the Middle East and Lebanon.
- 16:54We're seeing it in Gaza. Now it even gets more in Gaza.
- 17:00It would like Ashdod, Ashkelon, Ekron, Gath, Gaza, Jaffa, all of
- 17:06those are part of the lands of Philistia.
- 17:09And so here's what God says. Are you repaying me for
- 17:13something I have done? If you are paying me back, I
- 17:17will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have
- 17:24done. Have you noticed what's been
- 17:27going on with this? Like October 7th, 2023, the the
- 17:32people of the land of Gaza came into Israel and slaughtered
- 17:37people and God's calling Israel my inheritance, my people in
- 17:44verse 2. And he's saying for what you
- 17:47have done to my people, you are going to pay for this, this.
- 17:51And he mentions Philistia, he mentions Gaza and he's like, are
- 17:56you paying me back? I'm going to bring back on your
- 17:58own heads. And then I'm thinking about what
- 18:00has happened recently in the war between Israel and Hamas.
- 18:05And a lot of leaders of Hamas have been eliminated.
- 18:10A significant number of leaders have been significant, have been
- 18:16eliminated. And and so it's very interesting
- 18:21to me that God says if you are paying me back, I will swiftly
- 18:26and speedily return on your own heads, heads what you have done.
- 18:31Israel was killed. Now those who perpetrated who
- 18:34were the perpetrators of Israel are now being killed.
- 18:38So is this in fulfillment for you took my silver and my gold
- 18:45and carried off my finest treasures to your temples.
- 18:52That's really interesting. And I, I do wonder if it said
- 18:54like I, I don't know about the temples.
- 18:57I mean, like that's the worship of a, a false God, but I don't
- 19:02know if it was that. Again, I don't know if that's
- 19:04translation. I want to find that in the blue
- 19:06letter Bible. It's verse 5.
- 19:11It says to your temples or palaces.
- 19:15OK, so again, these translations sometimes can get us mixed up on
- 19:19what it's actually saying. So it says, you know, in another
- 19:24version, it says you carried off my treasures to your palaces.
- 19:31So they've taken and and again, this can be a silver and gold
- 19:36and carried it off to your palaces.
- 19:40I I'm going to look at the deeper to your temples and I
- 19:45want to see what it says. It says, hey call.
- 19:49I don't know how to pronounce this, so I'm going to have to
- 19:51listen to it. Hopefully you can hear this.
- 19:54Strong's H 1964 Hehal Hehal so it it's it's translated to mean
- 20:04a temple or a palace, so. Whatever this is, is God is not
- 20:12happy about this happening. So anyway, it says you you sold.
- 20:23The people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, that
- 20:29you might send them far away from their homeland.
- 20:32Well, I've been through this. Before in the Bible where I've
- 20:37seen it. You know, when we hear Greeks
- 20:40modern day today, we think of Greece.
- 20:42Well, that's a bad. Translation, a really bad
- 20:46translation and it doesn't give us the right information.
- 20:51So to find the correct information, go to
- 20:56blueletterbible.org. Look up Joel chapter 3.
- 21:02Go to verse 6. When you get there, click on the
- 21:06button on the left that says tools and then Scroll down to
- 21:12where it says the Greeks. I'm in the new international
- 21:16version and it's Strongs H3125 and it's Yevon or Yevoni.
- 21:27I will let them pronounce it too.
- 21:32Strong's Age, 3125 Yevadi Yevani, second entry.
- 21:42So it's Yevani and it is Grecian comma Ionian.
- 21:49OK, so again we get the word Greek and it was like a a
- 21:52descendant of Yevon and it's like a proper name of a people
- 21:58and it. You know it.
- 22:00Goes into a lot of detail. There's the Hebrew Chaldean
- 22:03lexicon, it says Ionia from this province being more to the east
- 22:09and better known as the rest of Greece to the Orientals.
- 22:13Its name became applied in their languages to the whole of
- 22:16Greece. So again, it talks about all
- 22:19these things in these different place, places here.
- 22:24And then it says like also in Ezekiel, it says it's perhaps a
- 22:28city of Arabia compared to Yevon, a city of Yemen.
- 22:34But so then I looked up in just Google where was Ionia because
- 22:41it talks about Ionia. Ionia is, is much bigger than
- 22:45what it is. And I'm going to read to you
- 22:47what this says. Ionia was an ancient region on
- 22:53the central West Coast of Asia Minor, so that matches up with
- 22:58what the Bible says, which is now modern day Turkey.
- 23:04Isn't that interesting? It's Turkey, so we could be
- 23:08thinking this is Greece, but in reality, because of the ancient
- 23:13territory it is. What was modern day Turkey?
- 23:17So that significantly changes like you sold the people of
- 23:20Judah and Jerusalem to Greece. No, you sold them to Turkey that
- 23:27you might send them far from their homeland.
- 23:31Now has this happened? I don't think so.
- 23:35Is there something coming about where they will be brought into
- 23:38Turkey? I don't know.
- 23:40I mean, but it's something that this is in prophecy and the rest
- 23:44of this has not happened yet. I think we should pay attention
- 23:47and watch. And when these things happen, we
- 23:50will know that these things are true.
- 23:52Like everything will come to pass that God talks about in in
- 23:56the Bible. That's in the Bible and he's the
- 24:00he God says, See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to
- 24:05which you have sold them. And I will return on your own
- 24:10heads what you have done. I will sell your sons and
- 24:15daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them
- 24:20to the Sabians, a nation far away.
- 24:24The Lord has spoken. So again, the Sabians, who are
- 24:29the Sabians? Because we don't have any people
- 24:31that I don't know who the Sabians are.
- 24:34So let's look that up. The Sabians were an anti-Semitic
- 24:39people of South Arabia who founded the wealthy Kingdom of
- 24:44Saba or Sheba, known for controlling trade routes,
- 24:49especially for incense and precious goods.
- 24:53From its capital at Merab, mentioned in the Bible, an
- 24:57ancient Assyrian and else they were known for their strong
- 25:01economy, organized monarchy and eventually.
- 25:04Collapsed due to internal conflicts and civil war, so
- 25:09again. This is prophesied way back
- 25:12when, so the people of that time would know what area it is.
- 25:16But then like if this is talking about the future, if that's
- 25:19already collapsed, then people would say well this already
- 25:22happened before, but because of the context of the rest.
- 25:25Of the chapter. This hasn't happened already
- 25:27before. This is something that is coming
- 25:30up and you'll see even more so how it is coming up.
- 25:33It has not happened yet. So where is this place?
- 25:38This is where it gets very interesting.
- 25:43Who were they? Ancient S Arabians.
- 25:46The Sabians were inhabitants of the Kingdom of Sabah or Sheba in
- 25:52what is now Yemen. Is Yemen active right now with
- 25:57Israel? I'm just saying these, this is,
- 26:02you know, this is all happening right now.
- 26:04We've got Yemen, we've got Turkey.
- 26:07We've got Gaza, we've got Lebanon.
- 26:10These are all mentioned in Joel chapter 3 and the nations are
- 26:14going to be judged. So I think we just need to pay
- 26:17attention to these things. OK, then it continues on in
- 26:21verse 9. Proclaim this among the nations.
- 26:25Prepare for war. Rouse the warriors.
- 26:30Let all the fighting men draw near an attack.
- 26:33Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into
- 26:37Spears. Let the weakling say, I am
- 26:39strong. Come quickly all you nations
- 26:43from every side, and assemble. There, he's talking about
- 26:48bringing them all into the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
- 26:51These nations do surround Israel.
- 26:54Bring down your warriors, Lord. Let the nation's be roused.
- 26:59Let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will
- 27:05sit. To judge all the nations on
- 27:08every side. There's prophecy in Daniel when
- 27:12it says like when you see the nation's surrounding army like
- 27:15to pay attention. This also like happens around
- 27:18the abomination of desolation when all of the nations are
- 27:23surrounding Israel and come against Israel.
- 27:26So this is certainly a time to just be watching and sometimes
- 27:31these things take years to eventually escalate to the level
- 27:35of a war. But certainly all the players
- 27:39are in position right now. All the ones who are talked
- 27:42about in Joel are right there. And there's like conflict going
- 27:46on. So this could be the very early,
- 27:47we don't know how quickly this will accelerate.
- 27:49But then it also says in here it's it talks about this all of
- 27:53a sudden like happening very quickly.
- 27:56And there's also that verse in Scripture that says when they
- 27:59say peace and safety or peace and security, then comes sudden
- 28:03destruction. So really, you know, there's a
- 28:08lot of talk about peace. There's this meeting coming up
- 28:11September 22nd or 23rd and 24th and they're talking about
- 28:17dividing up the land of Israel maybe, you know, and it
- 28:21certainly looks like 142 nations are saying yes, do it.
- 28:26There's only a few who are abstaining from it.
- 28:27How is that going to come out? What's going to be the reality
- 28:30that? Unfolds after that.
- 28:33That's yet to be seen. Will God pause this?
- 28:36Will he give people more time? Or is he going to accelerate?
- 28:39And we're going to be in the book of Joel in a matter of
- 28:42weeks, perhaps. Seriously, we need to think
- 28:45about this stuff and. And and realize that this stuff
- 28:51is talked about in the Bible. Now it says.
- 28:54For there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side.
- 28:58Now verse 13 Listen to this swing the sickle, for the
- 29:02harvest is ripe. Come trample the grapes, for the
- 29:07winepress is full and the vats overflow, so great is their
- 29:12wickedness. Does that sound like anything
- 29:16that you've heard before? If you ever read the Book of
- 29:18Revelation, which it says, those who read the Book of Revelation
- 29:22will be blessed, That should make you think about Revelation
- 29:27chapter 14 verses 14 through 20, which I will read.
- 29:31I looked and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the
- 29:36cloud was one like a Son of man. That's usually referred to Jesus
- 29:43and it's also referred to in Daniel Chapter 7 verse 13.
- 29:49OK with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his
- 29:55hand. Then another Angel came out of
- 29:58the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on
- 30:02the cloud. This is a heavenly temple.
- 30:05Take your sickle and reap because the.
- 30:08Time has come, the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the
- 30:13earth is ripe. So he who was seated on the
- 30:18cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was
- 30:22harvested. Another Angel came out of the
- 30:25temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
- 30:29So again, pay attention. There were, there's one
- 30:31harvesting that came out, there was, you know, something that
- 30:35already happened, but then there's another one.
- 30:38So still another Angel who had charge of the fire.
- 30:42So last chapter, weren't we talking about fire coming also?
- 30:47So that's just another interesting detail.
- 30:49So another Angel who had charge of the fire came from the altar
- 30:53and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle.
- 30:57Take your sharp sickle and gather the cluster of grapes
- 31:01from the earth's vine because its grapes are ripe.
- 31:05The Angel swung his sickle on the the earth, gathered its
- 31:09scrapes, and threw them into the great winepress of God's wrath.
- 31:18This is God's wrath. They were trampled in the
- 31:21winepress outside the city. Could that be in the Valley of
- 31:25Jehoshaphat? And I added that could that be
- 31:28in the valley of Jehovah's fat? OK, so they were.
- 31:31They were trampled in the wine press outside the city, and
- 31:34blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horse's
- 31:40bridles. For a distance of 1600 stadia.
- 31:44That translated is about 180 miles or about 300 kilometers.
- 31:52So this is like a bloodbath. This is like very, very severe.
- 31:58And this is saying like when these nations are coming against
- 32:02Israel and we're talking about Yemen, Turkey, Lebanon, Gaza,
- 32:11just listen, pay attention. It says multitudes, multitudes
- 32:16in the valley of decision, for the day of the Lord is near.
- 32:22In the Valley of Decision, the sun and moon will be darkened
- 32:27and the stars no longer shine. OK, that's a big clue right
- 32:33there. Because many times in.
- 32:36Scripture. It talks about the sun and the
- 32:39moon darkened and the stars no longer shining, no longer giving
- 32:44light. And so I want to read these.
- 32:47There's not a ton of verses that I'm going to read, but this is
- 32:51repeated throughout Scripture. And this is the day that the
- 32:54Lord comes. So Isaiah chapter 13, verse 10,
- 33:00the stars of heaven and their constellations will not show
- 33:03their light. The rising sun will be darkened
- 33:06and the moon will not give its light.
- 33:10In Joel chapter 2 before them, the earth shakes, the heavens
- 33:18tremble. God said he was going.
- 33:20Remember, God said He was going to shake the earth and the
- 33:23heavens one more time. So then it continues.
- 33:27The sun and moon are darkened and the stars no longer shine.
- 33:32Like how many times does God have to repeat this?
- 33:34First He said it with Isaiah, then he said with Joel, and then
- 33:37again in Joel chapter 3 that we're reading right now.
- 33:40The sun and moon will be darkened and the stars will no
- 33:42longer shine. Now Jesus says in Matthew 24,
- 33:47verse 29, immediately after the distress of those days.
- 33:53Now he when he's talking about that, he's talking about the
- 33:56abomination of desolation that happens and, and the people in
- 34:00Judah are supposed to flee to the mountains at that time.
- 34:04And there's going to be great distress that has never ever
- 34:08happened from the beginning of time and never will be as bad in
- 34:16the future. Like this is going to be the
- 34:18worst time time and it's called the great tribulation.
- 34:23And so there's going to be extreme tribulation that happens
- 34:27during this time. There's going to be an
- 34:30abomination. Of desolation.
- 34:31That's set up on the holy place, which is probably the Temple
- 34:35Mount somewhere. I don't.
- 34:37We don't know what it is, but someday we we will know.
- 34:41And it's going to be very evident and if all of these
- 34:44things are like happening like these vote, I don't know this
- 34:47timing like really this chapter is very odd that we came upon it
- 34:52right now within this week where.
- 34:56Just be watchful. Just get right with God is all I
- 35:00can say. Because if these events unfold
- 35:03like what it's saying, Jesus has returned, I mean.
- 35:06I, the other thing is I don't, I, I'm so hesitant to believe
- 35:11this like, but I don't want to be one of those same doubting
- 35:14people that when Jesus came the first time, they doubted that he
- 35:17was the Messiah And so they missed him.
- 35:19And they're, they're still like the Jewish people are still
- 35:22waiting for the Messiah because they denied Jesus being that
- 35:26Messiah. And so just because things don't
- 35:29happen the way I thought they might, I don't want to be
- 35:32somebody who is, I don't, well, I don't care if I'm wrong about
- 35:37it, but I don't want to like, miss, not like be ready for
- 35:42that. And, and so there's, there's all
- 35:45these people, which I'm very skeptical of, but more and more
- 35:50people, if you want to like search on YouTube and find
- 35:52people who have been having dreams or you'd find the dates
- 35:56that this Rosh Hashanah is coming up or Rosh Hashanah is
- 36:00coming up September 22nd through 24th, somewhere in that time
- 36:05range. The Jewish feast, it's the feast
- 36:07of trumpets. And every year people, you know,
- 36:12say, usually say like, oh, could this be the year that Jesus
- 36:15returns? Because a lot of people think
- 36:17that's when it's going to happen.
- 36:19And I, I do think that it's going to happen some year.
- 36:23And I didn't think this year, but all sorts of people are
- 36:27getting very bold about saying a specific date.
- 36:32Does that contradict Scripture? It says no one knows the day or
- 36:35the hour. So, you know, only the Father
- 36:40knows Jesus nor the angels know. So yeah, you know, you got to be
- 36:46like, is this a mass deception that's happening right now?
- 36:50Could the enemy of God be letting people think this is
- 36:54going to happen? Like, I think these people had
- 36:57these experiences and they're telling of all these quote
- 37:00confirmations that they've received from the Lord after
- 37:03prayer that they said, yes, this is the date.
- 37:06This is the date. I mean, there are so many people
- 37:09who have said this and I am skeptical, like I said.
- 37:16And but at the same time, I'm not going to be so prideful as
- 37:21to think that they didn't get this word.
- 37:24But this only gives us a few weeks.
- 37:26Like if you are not right with God, get right with God now
- 37:31because you can't afford to ignore this in my opinion,
- 37:37because if it does come and you are not prepared, you are just
- 37:41subject to the wrath of God. And I would not want to go
- 37:44through the wrath of God. And anyway, so this is really
- 37:51just for people's protection, like people who take this
- 37:53seriously. And and all along all throughout
- 37:56history, like nobody, you know, everybody kind of mocked the
- 37:58prophets anyway, like back in this day, they, you know, they
- 38:02just blew them off just like the days of Noah, you know, nobody
- 38:05knew what was coming up. And then all of a sudden the
- 38:07flood happened. And then people were, you know,
- 38:09only eight people were survived. Only eight people survived in
- 38:14the ark because they listened to God and they prepared.
- 38:18And, you know, they probably look crazy building this big ark
- 38:22on land for this flood that encompassed the whole earth.
- 38:28You know, sure, ahead of time they'd be like, OK, what's this
- 38:31nut doing? He's building this big ark.
- 38:33But it turned out that he was the only one that was saved.
- 38:37You know, it's as broad as the path that leads to destruction
- 38:41and narrow is the road that leads to salvation and few find
- 38:44it. So all throughout the Bible it
- 38:48tells us there are, you know, it's not a big number of people,
- 38:52but there are warnings there. It's a matter of whether we heed
- 38:55the warnings and we listen to what God says and do we apply it
- 38:59to our lives? Do we listen to God or do we
- 39:02just say it's not going to happen like I?
- 39:05Said I'm skeptical of this, but at the same time I'm not going
- 39:09to be in a compromised. Relationship with God, you know,
- 39:15this is really a critical time and it's not like you can just
- 39:19like say, OK, well, I'm only going to be good for this period
- 39:22of time because God's coming and we're not saved by our quote
- 39:26good works at all. But we are saved because of what
- 39:30Jesus did on the cross. Jesus made it possible for us to
- 39:35be in God's Kingdom. Just because he died on the
- 39:38cross doesn't mean that every single person is going to be in
- 39:40God's Kingdom because we either accept Jesus as Lord of our life
- 39:48as Lord. When I say Lord he's, do we
- 39:51accept him to rule over us? Will we submit to what he says
- 39:58we should do? Do we say, OK, Jesus, you would
- 40:02want me to do this and you know, or to not do?
- 40:06This. Or to not do, yeah, you know,
- 40:09whatever it is like, are you willing to do this?
- 40:12Are you willing to say, you know, I want to do this, but I
- 40:15know that the Bible says I should not do this.
- 40:19Are you willing to stop doing what you want to do because the
- 40:23Bible says don't do it. You don't get to heaven that
- 40:27way. You don't get into God's Kingdom
- 40:28that way. That's not your ticket to the
- 40:30Kingdom. The only thing that.
- 40:31Does is shows? God that you love him.
- 40:34So that's kind of affirming your relationship with God.
- 40:38If you say I don't care what you said, God, I'm going to do what
- 40:42I want to do. Do you think God feels love
- 40:45there? Do you think he's he?
- 40:48He feels like you valued his death on the cross so that you
- 40:53could just keep on sinning. Do you think God appreciates
- 40:58that? Do you think God feels like you
- 41:01love him if you choose that? I mean, we need to wake up
- 41:05people like this is real. We're not talking about some
- 41:07myth. We're not talking about some old
- 41:09story. This God is real and we just
- 41:16it's been so long ago that this this was that he was here on
- 41:21earth that, you know, we've kind of gone so far away where maybe
- 41:26to some it doesn't feel real, like it doesn't feel.
- 41:29But there were witnesses, people documented, people gave up their
- 41:33lives and would not deny that he was the Son of God, that he died
- 41:41on the cross, that he resurrected.
- 41:44They gave up their lives. They were beheaded, they were
- 41:47crucified upside down. They were tormented.
- 41:51They most, I think, except for one of the 12 disciples, maybe
- 41:57there was a couple, they, they died very horrible deaths
- 42:02willingly because they would not deny Christ.
- 42:06So those kinds of actions that people take, you know, to give
- 42:11up your life to say, no, I'm standing by this is true.
- 42:16Like I'm willing to die because this is true.
- 42:18They aren't killing other people because that's what other
- 42:20religions do. They'll just wipe out other
- 42:22people that don't agree with them.
- 42:23No, these people were like letting their own lives be taken
- 42:30from them because they wouldn't because of the because of his
- 42:34name, because of Jesus, their lives were taken from them and
- 42:40they believed so strongly that they would, they would suffer
- 42:45that because they know that life does continue.
- 42:50We do have eternity there. It isn't.
- 42:53You only live once. I mean, it is, but it isn't.
- 42:56It's not like our life here on earth is the only thing that
- 43:00matters because the earth is going to pass away, the heavens
- 43:04are going to pass away, God is going to create a new creation
- 43:07and nothing evil will ever enter it, and we will have eternity
- 43:12forever. I mean eternity.
- 43:15I mean, that's what it is forever.
- 43:17Anyway, I'm just, I, I went way off the path, which I do often,
- 43:21but it's just like where my thoughts come to mind.
- 43:25But this, the sun and the moon will be darkened and the stars
- 43:27will no longer shine. That's what Joel says.
- 43:30The Lord will roar from Zion and Thunder from Jerusalem.
- 43:34The earth and the heavens will tremble.
- 43:37OK, I want to read about these things, about the darkening.
- 43:40We talked about Isaiah. We talked about Joel and Jesus
- 43:43saying immediately after the distress of the those days, the
- 43:47sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the
- 43:50stars will. Fall.
- 43:51From the sky and the heavenly bodies will be shaken, but in
- 43:57those and then in Mark he documents Jesus saying this
- 44:01chapter 13 verse 24. But in those days following that
- 44:06distress, that's the great tribulation.
- 44:09The sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
- 44:14And there's more to it, but that's verse 24 and.
- 44:21Let's. See there's I want to read this
- 44:26is not related to the sun and the moon getting darkened.
- 44:29But when I searched darkened in the blue letter Bible this verse
- 44:33came up and I was like wow I need to read this though because
- 44:38this. Is.
- 44:39For. All of us.
- 44:42This is a warning. It's in in Ephesians chapter 4
- 44:46verse 18, and it says they are darkened in their understanding
- 44:55and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance
- 45:03that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
- 45:09So the point I'm making from here, it says separated from the
- 45:14life of God because of hardening of their hearts, refusal to
- 45:20listen, like no, I don't want that.
- 45:23So you say, no, I don't want that.
- 45:25They're separated from life of God.
- 45:29I think that's really important to don't let your heart be
- 45:33hardened towards God. Like turn to him in a humble way
- 45:39and ask him for forgiveness and ask him, tell him that you want
- 45:45to be a child of God and you want him to guide you and you
- 45:49want and you accept his leadership, his authority.
- 45:54So I just felt strongly about reading that part.
- 45:58But then you know, when it gets again about the sun in the sky
- 46:01darkened. I don't know if this is the same
- 46:03time frame or if it's just a coincidence that there's another
- 46:07darkening because it talks about it's darkened because of the
- 46:10smoke. Now, whether the sun and the
- 46:13moon were darkened. But this OK so Revelation
- 46:16Chapter 9 verse 2, when he opened the abyss, smoke rose
- 46:22from it like the smoke of a gigantic furnace.
- 46:26The sun and the sky were darkened by the smoke from the
- 46:31abyss. Now this is when the Angel
- 46:36releases something that is deep in the earth, the abyss like
- 46:41somewhere deep in the earth. This is like evil things that
- 46:44are released into the earth and they come out to torment people
- 46:50of the earth. And this happens during all the
- 46:53trumpets. So I'm not certain about the
- 46:57sequence of events here and whether this darkening is the
- 47:01same. It it does, it does look a
- 47:03little bit different, but it could be the same time.
- 47:06I'm just not sure. I, I don't know.
- 47:12And so I, I'm going to qualify it with that because it just
- 47:16says the sun and the sky were darkened from the smoke from the
- 47:18abyss. Now, is this the same event
- 47:20where the sun and the moon are darkened and the stars no longer
- 47:23shine? Is it, is it, is that how it
- 47:25gets darkened? Because there's this smoke from
- 47:27the abyss that happens that, you know, like it, it talks about
- 47:31people having this fear that makes them grow pale, like they
- 47:34are pale, like they're just horrified or terrified from what
- 47:38they see. And just like this is what the
- 47:43Bible's telling us is, is sometime in the future, the
- 47:48trembling. So this, you know, talks about
- 47:51the earth and the heavens will tremble often when God's
- 47:55presence is there, there's a trembling like people, you know,
- 48:00we, we haven't seen God in the sky.
- 48:04But when there's something like astonishing that happens, I'm
- 48:10sure there will be this kind of like, wow, it's so big, so huge
- 48:15and so impressive that we will like tremble in the presence of
- 48:20God. And, and it says like in Psalm
- 48:24114, it says tremble earth at the presence of the Lord, at the
- 48:30presence of the God of Jacob in Isaiah 13 verse 13, it says,
- 48:37therefore I will make the heavens tremble and the earth
- 48:41will shake from its place at the wrath of the Lord Almighty in
- 48:48the day of his burning anger. So there's going to be like it
- 48:53sounds like an earthquake. The earth will shake from its
- 48:56place. It's probably a big earthquake.
- 48:59There was an earthquake when Jesus died on the cross because
- 49:03the tombs opened up and several people came out of them.
- 49:06It doesn't really. The Bible doesn't go into detail
- 49:08about who those people were, but they walked around the city of
- 49:10Jerusalem, which I find very interesting.
- 49:13Like why is there not more information about that?
- 49:15What happened to him afterwards? The Bible doesn't say.
- 49:19So it's a mystery. But a lot of times when God's
- 49:23presence is there, there is an earthquake, there is a
- 49:25trembling, there is a shaking and God said, I will shake the
- 49:29heavens and the earth one more time.
- 49:34So there's an Isaiah 19 verse one, it says a prophecy against
- 49:38Egypt. OK, this wasn't in and this
- 49:42country was not named in Joel chapter 3, but in Isaiah chapter
- 49:4719, it is a prophecy against Egypt.
- 49:50See, the Lord rides on a swift cloud.
- 49:53Now remember, we said he was the Son of man, was on this cloud
- 49:57and he had a sickle and it was about to, you know, use the
- 50:02sickle to gather the grapes and trample them.
- 50:05And that's what Jesus does. He tramples the grapes, not the
- 50:09real, I mean, it's the symbolic grapes.
- 50:12He brings out the wrath. Jesus's return is going to be
- 50:16for wrath, for justice, a prophecy against Egypt.
- 50:21See the Lord rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt the
- 50:26idols of Egypt tremble before him and the hearts of the
- 50:31Egyptians melt with fear so that's very interesting like the
- 50:34idols to me that that is like a spiritual thing that they
- 50:38worship those spirits are submitting to the Son of God
- 50:47let's. See.
- 50:50I don't know if this is before or after, but it says the Lord
- 50:53has stretched out his hand over the sea and made its kingdoms
- 50:55tremble. So again, this is just like a
- 50:58the Lord's presence and trembling happen.
- 51:02Then in Isaiah 32 verse 10, it says in in little more than a
- 51:07year, you who feel secure will tremble, the grape harvest will
- 51:13fail and the harvest of fruit will not come.
- 51:18So I don't know if that was past prophecy or not.
- 51:23So that may not even be relevant.
- 51:25But let's see. Isaiah 44 says do not, do not
- 51:34tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and
- 51:38foretell it along long ago? You are my witnesses.
- 51:42Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other rock.
- 51:47I know not one. So God's children should not
- 51:52tremble. If we have a good relationship
- 51:54with God, if we are not in rebellion towards Him, we don't
- 52:00have anything to fear. It says, like God, we are not
- 52:03subjects of wrath. When we have a good relationship
- 52:07with God, we are not appointed to wrath.
- 52:10So we don't have to fear. He's not coming to hurt us, but
- 52:13he's coming to hurt his enemies, not to hurt.
- 52:17He's coming to take make justice happen on his enemies for what
- 52:21they did. So that's what he's coming for.
- 52:25But if we are against God, then we are.
- 52:32Subject to wrath. Let's see, you know it just this
- 52:38is an exclamation to God. Oh, that you would rend the
- 52:41heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before
- 52:45you. I mean this, the presence of the
- 52:47Lord is something that people would tremble.
- 52:53You know, should this is in Jeremiah chapter 5 verse 22.
- 52:58Should you not fear me, Declares the Lord.
- 53:02So again, God, God's like, you know you should fear me.
- 53:06You know He's not saying he goes.
- 53:08Should you not tremble in my presence?
- 53:12I have made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting
- 53:16barrier. It cannot cross.
- 53:18The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail.
- 53:21They may roll, but they cannot cross it.
- 53:24Like think about what God has done.
- 53:26He put the sand on the beach and and it's like, no, the waves are
- 53:31going to stay in that area. That's where I told the waves to
- 53:34stay. Like who else can do that?
- 53:36This is God doing this it. But again, they there's a lot of
- 53:42things about God and trembling at the day or at when in his
- 53:50presence. That.
- 53:53Here's Joel chapter 2. It says, Blow the trumpet in
- 53:56Zion, sound the alarm on my holy hill.
- 53:59Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord
- 54:04is coming. It is close in hand before them.
- 54:09The earth shakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and moon and
- 54:13darkened, and the stars no longer shine.
- 54:17So this is that, that similar verse that's in chapter 2, verse
- 54:2210 from Joel and Joel chapter 3, verse 16, The Lord will roll,
- 54:29roar from Zion and Thunder from Jerusalem.
- 54:32The earth and the heavens will tremble, but the Lord will be a
- 54:36refuge for His people, a stronghold for the people of
- 54:41Israel, like the people of Israel will not have to fear at
- 54:44this. Those are the Lord's people.
- 54:50And it says like when a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the
- 54:54people tremble? When disaster comes to a city,
- 54:58has not the Lord caused it? That's an Amos.
- 55:02He's another prophet, which we haven't read yet or yet maybe we
- 55:05did chapter 3, verse 6. So I think I've kind of made the
- 55:10point about God's presence and trembling and Romans.
- 55:22Paul says Chapter 11, verse 20. Granted, but they were broken
- 55:27off because of unbelief. And you stand by faith do not be
- 55:34arrogant but tremble. So he's talking about the tree
- 55:40on how I guess the olive tree. I'll have to go back to that
- 55:43chapter. But this is AI think this is
- 55:47probably when he's talking about Israel being broken.
- 55:50Yeah, like so there this is symbolism about this engrafted
- 56:00branches that and I'll I'll just read this.
- 56:03OK, so this is Romans Chapter 11 verse 11 through 24.
- 56:08I'll read again. I ask this is talking about
- 56:12Israel. Did they stumble as so to fall
- 56:15beyond recovery? Not at all.
- 56:18Rather because of their transgression, salvation has
- 56:22come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
- 56:28So all this anti-Semitism, it's God hasn't turned away from
- 56:37Israel. He's, you know, obviously he's
- 56:41not. I mean, they're, they're being
- 56:42successful in their battles currently.
- 56:45And are they, you know, have they denied Jesus?
- 56:49Yes, they've been blinded, they've chosen other things.
- 56:53But did they stumble so far as to fall beyond recovery?
- 56:57Paul says no, not at all, but because of their transgression,
- 57:02because of their their sinful ways, salvation came to the
- 57:07Gentiles, to all those who are not Jewish people, to make
- 57:13Israel envious, like God's Kingdom is going to be for all
- 57:17nations. And OK, I'll go on.
- 57:20But if their transgression means riches for the world and their
- 57:24loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater
- 57:28riches will their full inclusion bring?
- 57:33I am talking to you, Gentiles, in as much as I am an apostle to
- 57:37the Gentiles. I take pride in my ministry in
- 57:40the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and
- 57:45save some of them. For if their rejection brought
- 57:50reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be
- 57:55but life from the dead? If part.
- 57:58Of the dough offered as first fruits as holy, then the whole
- 58:03batch is holy. If the root is holy, so are the
- 58:08branches. So a lot of stuff that Paul says
- 58:11is really hard to understand and the symbolism in there, but you
- 58:15know. Jesus is like the root.
- 58:18And he and he also says like I am the vine, you are the
- 58:20branches and apart from me, you can do nothing.
- 58:23There's, there's all these things like we, if we are in
- 58:25Christ, if we are connected to the vine, if we, if we have the
- 58:30Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God is that that shared when we
- 58:35receive the Holy Spirit, when we believe in Jesus and we repent
- 58:40of our sins and we receive the Holy Spirit.
- 58:43That is how we become one with the Father and the Son through
- 58:48the Holy Spirit. And that's what Jesus promised
- 58:51his followers that he would send an advocate who would be with
- 58:54them. And that's the Holy Spirit.
- 58:57And when we believe and we truly repent and we make him our Lord
- 59:04and we are in obedience to him. You know, we are willingly
- 59:07obedient. We might mess up here and there,
- 59:09but we don't let that go on. We don't continue to keep on
- 59:13sinning. We just, we, we go back to God
- 59:17and we're like, he's, he's our boss.
- 59:19You know, he's, he's, he's our, he's our authority.
- 59:24I should say more, whatever you want to call it, but he's the
- 59:27authority. And so if we're connected to
- 59:30him, then we become holy. If we don't show fruit of the
- 59:36Holy Spirit, I don't think we can be confident that we have
- 59:44the Holy Spirit. If we're not showing fruit, if
- 59:47there's no change in our life, that's that's something that's
- 59:51evident evidence of it. And it it does begin to make us
- 59:56change, to become more holy like God.
- 1:00:00We will never become, we will never be perfect, but we do
- 1:00:05start to change. As a result of the Holy Spirit,
- 1:00:09not by our own works, but what God does in US.
- 1:00:13And it's that humbling of us, like we're not doing it on our
- 1:00:16own. We're letting, letting God
- 1:00:18change our lives and we're willfully submitting to him to
- 1:00:22say, OK, I'm going to do what you want me to do.
- 1:00:24I'm not just going to be selfish and do what I want to do.
- 1:00:28So if some of the branches have been broken off and you, though
- 1:00:31a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among others, and now
- 1:00:35share in the nourishing SAP from the olive root, do not consider
- 1:00:39yourself to be superior to these other branches.
- 1:00:42If you do consider this, you do not support the root, but the
- 1:00:46root supports you. You will then say branches were
- 1:00:50broken off so that I could be grafted in granted, but they
- 1:00:54were broken off because of unbelief and you stand by faith.
- 1:00:59Do not be arrogant but tremble. That's the other thing is we
- 1:01:03have to remember that this in Scripture says pride comes
- 1:01:06before the fall. So we when we are like grafted
- 1:01:11in, we weren't supposed to be anyone chosen.
- 1:01:14Israel was chosen and if we are in Christ and he has, you know,
- 1:01:21accepted us or called us and we responded in a positive way to
- 1:01:25him, then we are grafted in. We become a part of him.
- 1:01:31Like Jesus prayed to the Father before he died on the cross.
- 1:01:35He said like Father, make them one as we are one.
- 1:01:38He wanted that that wonderful relationship that he has with
- 1:01:42the Father for all of us to have as well.
- 1:01:45And that happens through the Holy Spirit.
- 1:01:48And like Jesus said in John chapter 3, that you cannot enter
- 1:01:52the Kingdom of heaven unless you were born again, born of the
- 1:01:56Spirit. So if we don't have the Holy
- 1:01:58Spirit, we can't get into the Kingdom of heaven.
- 1:02:03So for God, if God did not spare the natural branches, he will
- 1:02:08not spare you either. So like don't get, don't get too
- 1:02:12cocky because if he didn't do this for his own people in
- 1:02:18Israel and he broke them off because they had unbelief, don't
- 1:02:22think he will not do the same to you.
- 1:02:25So it says, consider therefore the kindness and stemness of
- 1:02:29sternness of God, sternness to those who fell, but kindness to
- 1:02:35you, provided that you continue in his kindness.
- 1:02:42Otherwise you also will be cut off.
- 1:02:46And God hates pride. So if somebody's getting
- 1:02:48prideful, that's a warning because it says pride comes
- 1:02:51before the fall. And if God's going to say, hey,
- 1:02:54I'm going to cut you off, you, you don't represent me.
- 1:02:57You're not showing the fruits of the Spirit.
- 1:02:59The fruit of the Spirit is not prideful.
- 1:03:01So that's a word of warning to people who are like, I'm this
- 1:03:06perfect religious person and you know, I'm a child of God and I'm
- 1:03:11righteous and all this. I mean, no, that's not what what
- 1:03:14God wants. He wants, you know, mercy,
- 1:03:18compassion, love out of people, not pride.
- 1:03:22And so Paul also says like, and if they, and if they do not
- 1:03:27persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in for God is able to
- 1:03:33graft them in again. So this is a message to the
- 1:03:36Jewish people. Like right now, the Jewish
- 1:03:38people who are Orthodox Jew do not believe that Jesus is the
- 1:03:42Messiah, and right now they are. They are cut off because of
- 1:03:47unbelief, but they will be grafted in.
- 1:03:52God is able to graft them in. So when they recognize Jesus as
- 1:03:58the Messiah and accept him, then they will be grafted back in
- 1:04:05after all. OK, so Paul goes on to say,
- 1:04:07after all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is a is
- 1:04:12wild by nature and contrary to nature were grafted into a
- 1:04:17cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these the
- 1:04:22natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?
- 1:04:27So we have to remember that Israel will definitely be
- 1:04:31granted in God is not, you know, he Israel is still God's chosen
- 1:04:38people. In fact, that is what Paul
- 1:04:43continues to say all it says all Israel will be saved in my book.
- 1:04:48I do not want you to be ignorant of those mystery brothers and
- 1:04:52sisters so that you may not be conceited.
- 1:04:55Israel has experienced a hardening in part until until
- 1:05:03the full numbers of the Gentiles have come in.
- 1:05:06So God's putting this hardening on Israel because of their
- 1:05:11choice, like he's letting it happen, letting it continue,
- 1:05:14continue to happen. They have this blindness about
- 1:05:16who Jesus is until in part until the full number of Gentiles has
- 1:05:23come in the non Jews until they have come into belief.
- 1:05:28He's allowing this to happen, and in this way all Israel will
- 1:05:34be saved. As it is written, the deliverer
- 1:05:37will. Come from Zion, He will turn
- 1:05:41godlessness away from Jacob, and this is my covenant with them
- 1:05:47when I take away their sins. As far as the gospel is
- 1:05:52concerned, they are enemies for your sake, but as far as
- 1:05:56election is concerned, they are loved on account of the
- 1:06:02patriarchs like God's promise to Abraham.
- 1:06:07For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable.
- 1:06:14Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now
- 1:06:21received mercy as a result of their disobedience, so they too
- 1:06:28have now become disobedient in order that they too may now
- 1:06:33receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.
- 1:06:38For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that He may
- 1:06:44have mercy on them all. So I'll just read the very end.
- 1:06:51Oh, the depth of riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
- 1:06:55How unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out
- 1:07:02who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his
- 1:07:06counsellor? Who has ever given to God that
- 1:07:09God should repay them? For from him and through him and
- 1:07:14for him are all things. To him be the glory forever.
- 1:07:19Amen. So that was a letter written to
- 1:07:22the Romans and explains some things, but probably creates
- 1:07:26confusion for a lot more too. So anyway, let's go back to Joel
- 1:07:33in verse 16. The end of it the.
- 1:07:36Lord will roll. From roar, from Zion and Thunder
- 1:07:39from Jerusalem, and the earth and the heavens will tremble,
- 1:07:42but the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for
- 1:07:47the people of Israel. Then you will know that I, the
- 1:07:53Lord your God, dwell in Zion. My holy hill, Jerusalem will be
- 1:08:00holy. Never again will foreigners
- 1:08:03invade her. So I'm going to say that's not
- 1:08:06today. Never again will foreigners
- 1:08:09invade Jerusalem. I mean, we're talking about
- 1:08:12dividing up that land right now. So it and it's going to be holy.
- 1:08:19This is God's chosen place. He chose Jerusalem.
- 1:08:22So in that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the
- 1:08:27hills will flow with milk. All the ravines of Judah will
- 1:08:30run with water. A fountain will flow out of the
- 1:08:36Lord's house and will water the valley of Acacias.
- 1:08:44But Egypt will be desolate. Edom, a desert waste.
- 1:08:49That's southwest Jordan. Edom, a southwest Jordan.
- 1:08:52A desert waste. Why?
- 1:08:54Because of the violence done to the people of Judah, in whose
- 1:08:59land they shed innocent blood. Sounds like there's going to be
- 1:09:05some tragedy that occurs that some will be, you know, when
- 1:09:10this abomination of desolation happens.
- 1:09:12That's why God says get out of there, go to the mountains.
- 1:09:15There's probably going to be some people that'll be killed.
- 1:09:17This is going to be like something horrific that comes
- 1:09:20up. We have a lot of horrific things
- 1:09:22happening right now, but there's one more that's going to be the
- 1:09:29worst in all history and the worst ever to happen and will
- 1:09:36never happen again. But this is something that
- 1:09:41nobody can prepare for this. We don't even know what to
- 1:09:43expect. But this is not a time to be
- 1:09:47playing around with with God. This is a time to be sincere
- 1:09:53with God and to come to him in a humble way and get right with
- 1:09:59him because you don't. You don't want to experience the
- 1:10:03wrath of God. You don't want to be his enemy
- 1:10:05when Jesus returns, and it's because of the violence done to
- 1:10:10the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.
- 1:10:15Judah will be inhabited forever. Forever is eternity and
- 1:10:21Jerusalem through all generations.
- 1:10:23Shall I leave their innocent blood unavenged?
- 1:10:29No, I will not. The Lord dwells in Zion.
- 1:10:36This is Jesus is going to reign from Jerusalem as king for 1000
- 1:10:44years during the Millennium. In fact, this temple where it
- 1:10:48says in this verse a fountain will flow out of the Lord's
- 1:10:51house and will water the valley of Caius.
- 1:10:53That's what in Revelation 22 it talks about this temple.
- 1:11:00Listen to what it says here. It says in Revelation 22 verse
- 1:11:04one, then the Angel. This is talking about an Angel
- 1:11:07that's showing this to John, the disciple of Jesus, one of the
- 1:11:10apostles who was on the island of Patmos when he had this
- 1:11:14vision. The Angel showed me.
- 1:11:16The river of the Water of life. As clear as crystal, flowing
- 1:11:22from the throne of God and of the Lamb, down the middle of the
- 1:11:29great St. of the city, on each side of the river stood the Tree
- 1:11:34of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every
- 1:11:39month. And the leaves of the tree are
- 1:11:42for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any
- 1:11:47curse. See, there is a curse right now.
- 1:11:49The throne of God and the end of the Lamb will be in the city,
- 1:11:54the throne of God and Jesus. Jesus is the Lamb of God, the
- 1:11:59sacrificed Lamb. The throne of God and of Jesus
- 1:12:04will be in the city and his servants will serve him.
- 1:12:09They will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads.
- 1:12:14You know, is that symbolic of having, you know, that's, that's
- 1:12:18their first thought. He's their priority.
- 1:12:21There will be no more night. I think again, this is a
- 1:12:24translation thing. It's just there will be no more
- 1:12:27darkness. I think is really what it says.
- 1:12:29You will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun,
- 1:12:34for the Lord will give them light and they will reign
- 1:12:37forever and ever. Maybe it is literal, I don't
- 1:12:39know. I mean, again, we don't have a
- 1:12:41perfect interpretation of this, but there is a restoration
- 1:12:45coming and and I should probably just read the this other.
- 1:12:50I want to read the rest of this chapter because this chapter is
- 1:12:52kind of beautiful. The Angel said to me, these
- 1:12:56words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires
- 1:13:00the prophets, like we're reading about Joel, he inspired Joel,
- 1:13:04sent his Angel to show his servants the things that must
- 1:13:08soon take place. Look, I am coming soon, bless.
- 1:13:13It is the one who keeps the words of this prophecy written
- 1:13:19in the scroll. I, John, and the one who heard
- 1:13:24and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen
- 1:13:28them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the Angel who had
- 1:13:31been showing them to me. But he said to me, don't do
- 1:13:34that. I'm a fellow servant with you
- 1:13:36and with your fellow prophets, and with all who keep the words
- 1:13:42of the scroll. Worship God.
- 1:13:45Then he told me, do not seal up the words of the prophecy of
- 1:13:51this scroll, because time is near.
- 1:13:53God wants to warn everybody. Let the one who does wrong
- 1:13:59continue to do wrong, let the vile person continue to be vile.
- 1:14:05Let the one who does right continue to do right, and let
- 1:14:10the holy person continue to be holy.
- 1:14:13Look, I am coming soon. My reward is with me and I will
- 1:14:20give to each person according to what they have done.
- 1:14:24I am the alpha and the Omega, the 1st and the last, the
- 1:14:29beginning and the end. Blessed are those who wash their
- 1:14:33robes. That's like getting rid of sin,
- 1:14:38that they will have the right to the tree of life and may go
- 1:14:43through the gates into the city. Listen to this.
- 1:14:47This is this is kind of, yeah, this is something that really
- 1:14:51pay attention. Outside are the dogs.
- 1:14:55Now, the dogs was a a word back then for male prostitutes.
- 1:15:00It was an idiom, I guess. Outside are the dogs, those who
- 1:15:05practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers,
- 1:15:13the idolaters, and everyone. Who loves and practices
- 1:15:18falsehood? It it just OK that that
- 1:15:22sentence? Revelation 22 verse 15.
- 1:15:27Really. I mean this.
- 1:15:29Is this is? Jesus, it'll say it next
- 1:15:31sentence, it'll say I, Jesus have sent my Angel to give you
- 1:15:36this testimony for the churches. So this is this is.
- 1:15:41For the churches. This is these are for believers.
- 1:15:44This is not for others who don't believe.
- 1:15:47This is for the believers. I am the root and the offspring
- 1:15:51of David and the bright Morning Star.
- 1:15:54So it's saying outside are the dogs, those who practice magic
- 1:15:58arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and
- 1:16:03everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
- 1:16:06If you don't want to be in God's Kingdom, continue to do all that
- 1:16:10stuff that was just mentioned. If you want to be in God's
- 1:16:15Kingdom, you need to repent. You need to ask for forgiveness
- 1:16:19for those things that were just mentioned in Revelation 15.
- 1:16:24Ask God to change you. Ask God to make you new, make
- 1:16:28you a new creation, because He will.
- 1:16:32But He's only going to do it if you ask Him.
- 1:16:37You can't just keep on doing it and expect that nothing's going
- 1:16:41to happen to you. It's a warning.
- 1:16:45The Spirit and the bride say, come, and let the one who hears
- 1:16:50say come. Let the one who is thirsty come
- 1:16:55and let the one who wishes to take the free gift of the water
- 1:17:00of life. This is free.
- 1:17:02It's free to us because Jesus paid the ultimate price by his
- 1:17:07life. He died on the cross so that we
- 1:17:10can enter this Kingdom of God. Revelation 22, verse 18.
- 1:17:16I warn everyone who hears the prophecies, the words of this
- 1:17:21prophecy of the scroll. If anyone adds anything to them,
- 1:17:26God will add to that person the plagues described in the scroll,
- 1:17:33And if anyone takes words away from the scroll of prophecy, God
- 1:17:38will take away from that person any share in the tree of life
- 1:17:43and in the holy City which are described in the scroll.
- 1:17:47He who testifies to these things says, yes, I am coming soon,
- 1:17:53Amen. Come, Lord Jesus, the grace of
- 1:17:57the Lord Jesus be with God's people.
- 1:18:00Amen. I think we need to heed the
- 1:18:04warnings and make ourselves prepared.
- 1:18:09Who knows when that day is going to come?
- 1:18:11And I do know that there's a concern that I have is that
- 1:18:19this, this, this wrath of God and this fear of God, people
- 1:18:24don't like hearing about it and they don't want to acknowledge
- 1:18:32that they I've heard so many times before, like.
- 1:18:36Oh well, the God of the old. Testament he's mean and he's
- 1:18:39he's like crabby and he's he's full of wrath and he's, you
- 1:18:43know, all this whatever people have said that and they're like,
- 1:18:47and then Jesus like he's love and he's yeah, well, Jesus came
- 1:18:52in a very loving, kind way, but his return is going to be with
- 1:18:57wrath. There's another verse in
- 1:18:58Scripture that says that he's got like blood on his robe
- 1:19:04because he was fighting. I think it's in Edom, actually,
- 1:19:07southwestern Jordan. There must be some people who
- 1:19:11are actually going to be like imprisoned there are captured
- 1:19:15there are taken to that place and nobody's there with him.
- 1:19:19He alone fights against them and his own clothes are blood
- 1:19:25stained. That's not the Jesus that is
- 1:19:29documented in the New Testament and well, no, I take that back.
- 1:19:33That is in the New Testament. It says that's what he's going
- 1:19:35to do. It's not the Jesus that people
- 1:19:38already met when he was here originally and and churches
- 1:19:45don't like to, I guess it's maybe, well, if you talk about
- 1:19:48that, people may not want to be a part of this religion.
- 1:19:51I don't know why churches do this, but they don't want to
- 1:19:56talk about this part of it. They want to talk about love and
- 1:20:02only love. But then what we have, what I'm
- 1:20:07concerned about is that there are a lot of Christians and they
- 1:20:10all, you know, say love would just be loved, just be loved,
- 1:20:13just be loved. But they might love and they
- 1:20:16might just keep on sinning. But what does the Bible say
- 1:20:20about that? You don't keep on sinning and
- 1:20:24and if you do, you're subject to wrath.
- 1:20:27And it does say that I would need to find it in here.
- 1:20:29It says I, I don't know. But I mean, that's like what I
- 1:20:33think is that there's a disservice that the the church
- 1:20:36is doing to people by not telling them everything.
- 1:20:44Like yes, God is love and yes, he wants us to be in his Kingdom
- 1:20:50and he will do everything possible, even give us the Holy
- 1:20:53Spirit so that we can overcome. The Holy Spirit gives us power,
- 1:20:59gives us courage, gives us wisdom.
- 1:21:02It enables us to overcome what we can't overcome as just human
- 1:21:07beings. In our quote fleshly self that
- 1:21:10the Bible talks about. And churches are not encouraging
- 1:21:14people, not preparing people to overcome sin.
- 1:21:22They're making people comfortable in their sin because
- 1:21:26things that are like clearly called out as not being in the
- 1:21:32Kingdom of God. Like I didn't read Revelation
- 1:21:3521, but Revelation 21 kind of is another warning, just like that
- 1:21:40one sentence that talked about those who, you know, weren't
- 1:21:43going to be in the Kingdom or outside, you know that part.
- 1:21:48So there's, this is in the Book of Revelation and then in
- 1:21:51chapter 21, verse 8, this is what it says about I, I think
- 1:21:57there's even more too, but it, it talks about the cowardly, the
- 1:22:04unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral,
- 1:22:11those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars.
- 1:22:16They will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
- 1:22:21This is the second death. So we need to take that to
- 1:22:29heart. Like God doesn't say, oh, OK,
- 1:22:33it's sin, you know, like I died on the cross for you.
- 1:22:35So you can keep on doing that. That's no big deal.
- 1:22:39If it was no big deal, then why did he have to be tortured and
- 1:22:44crucified on the cross? He did it to break the curse.
- 1:22:49Yes, he did that to save mankind and yes, he knows that we're not
- 1:22:53going to be perfect. But I want to read something
- 1:22:56else that's in Scripture. So it says like that.
- 1:22:59It says those people are not going to be in the Kingdom.
- 1:23:03And in Hebrews chapter 10, verse 26, pay attention to this
- 1:23:08because every church should remind people of this.
- 1:23:14If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received
- 1:23:21the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.
- 1:23:29No sacrifice for sins is left, and listen to what it says,
- 1:23:33verse 27, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of
- 1:23:42raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
- 1:23:50I want to go over that slowly because this is talking about
- 1:23:55people who received the knowledge of the truth.
- 1:23:58These are like we all were sinners to start with and we
- 1:24:03didn't have the knowledge, but once you have the knowledge and
- 1:24:06then choose sin over obedience to God, you, you might think you
- 1:24:14have grace. But this Hebrews chapter 10,
- 1:24:18verse 26 and 27 says no sacrifice for sins is left.
- 1:24:24And then now you've become an enemy of God and you can only
- 1:24:29expect judgment and raging fire that will consume the enemies of
- 1:24:37God. And so people say, well, Oh my
- 1:24:41gosh, I mean, OK, Hebrews is that's in the New Testament.
- 1:24:44Will people say, well, that, you know, that must be the Old
- 1:24:46Testament God, not the New Testament God.
- 1:24:49I mean, how many times have we all heard that?
- 1:24:52I want to remind people of that. There's probably like 5 verses
- 1:24:56that I'm going to read in Psalm 15.
- 1:25:00Four who despises A vile person but honors those who fear the
- 1:25:05Lord, who keeps an oath even when it hurts and does not
- 1:25:10change their mind. Actually that's not appropriate
- 1:25:15verse I was in when I put does not change that came up.
- 1:25:19So actually that's about a person.
- 1:25:21It's not about the Lord. So scratch that one.
- 1:25:25I read it without pre reading it.
- 1:25:28So let's go to Psalm 55 verse 19.
- 1:25:31God who is enthroned from of old who does not change, he will
- 1:25:39hear them and humble them because they have No Fear of
- 1:25:42God. So God, he's enthroned, he
- 1:25:48doesn't change, He's going to humble people because they have
- 1:25:52No Fear of God. I got, I got humbled myself.
- 1:25:56And God disciplines his children and he disciplines his children
- 1:26:00out of love because he doesn't want us to continue down that
- 1:26:02path. So when bad things start
- 1:26:05happening to us, when we are doing things against God's will,
- 1:26:10those are warnings from God, warnings to stop, turn to him.
- 1:26:15So nothing like Jesus. OK, he said this just came to
- 1:26:19mind right now. Jesus said to the woman, I think
- 1:26:23he was going to be stoned. He said like go and sin no more.
- 1:26:28She was going to be stoned because she was caught in the
- 1:26:31act of adultery and Jesus didn't stone her.
- 1:26:34Nobody else stoned her. He.
- 1:26:35Goes you without. Sin be the first to cast the
- 1:26:37stone and nobody could because they all knew they had sin.
- 1:26:41And Jesus said I'm not going to do it either, but go and stop
- 1:26:45sinning. And he said that many times to
- 1:26:50people. He healed people and he he said,
- 1:26:53I don't remember where this is in scripture, but I remember
- 1:26:56reading it where he told the man like stop sinning or something
- 1:27:01worse will happen to you. There is never.
- 1:27:05Because of the. There's never this Jesus died on
- 1:27:09the cross, so I can keep on sinning.
- 1:27:11That's not true. That's that's false.
- 1:27:14I mean, that's an abuse of the grace that God gave to us.
- 1:27:19Grace is the power to overcome sin, the power of the Holy
- 1:27:24Spirit. It doesn't mean that it's a
- 1:27:28license to sin. Paul even says that no, it isn't
- 1:27:31a license to sin. So if someone is saying, well,
- 1:27:34I've got grace, I can keep on doing this.
- 1:27:36God's grace covers me. You know what you have actually,
- 1:27:40if that's your opinion, here's what Second Timothy chapter 4,
- 1:27:46verse 3 says for the time will come when people will not put up
- 1:27:51with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own
- 1:27:55desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers
- 1:28:01to say what their itching ears want to hear.
- 1:28:06It's not going to be sound doctrine, but they're going to
- 1:28:08say I like. What they have to say.
- 1:28:10Yeah, that's true. Like or even miss applying
- 1:28:14verses in Scripture and putting them to say something they were
- 1:28:18not intended to say, but to justify their sin, to make them
- 1:28:24comfortable in their own sin. And there's a lot of this, you
- 1:28:28know, like someone who doesn't, I mean, God doesn't change.
- 1:28:31He does not sin separates us from God.
- 1:28:38God doesn't want to be separated from us.
- 1:28:40We do it to ourselves. We separate ourselves from God.
- 1:28:44He doesn't separate from us. We separate ourselves from him.
- 1:28:49And God is good. This is such a this is a
- 1:28:52reminder too. Like every good and perfect gift
- 1:28:57is from above. Do we acknowledge that?
- 1:29:01Do we acknowledge every good thing that we get is from God
- 1:29:06coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights who does not
- 1:29:11change like shifting shadows? God doesn't change.
- 1:29:15He's always been good. God is always been love.
- 1:29:20God has always been just. And he also said, you know, like
- 1:29:26Christians are not supposed to take vengeance on one another or
- 1:29:30anyone. God says the vengeance is mine.
- 1:29:33He's the one who's going to who has the who's going to take care
- 1:29:39of the judgement? Not us.
- 1:29:41And then in Numbers Old Testament, there's a couple
- 1:29:45things. God is not human that he should
- 1:29:48lie, not a human being that he should change his mind.
- 1:29:53Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
- 1:30:02God is a God of his word. He's not like the human beings
- 1:30:05that we know. We can't compare him to a human
- 1:30:08being. He's not a human being.
- 1:30:10He doesn't change his mind. He doesn't change.
- 1:30:12He is the same today as he ever was.
- 1:30:16So in first Samuel 1529, he who is the glory of Israel does not
- 1:30:24lie. So this is something that just
- 1:30:30came to mind. There's another religion where
- 1:30:35it it talks about that says like Allah is the greatest of
- 1:30:40deceivers. So that's another piece of
- 1:30:44evidence that it contradicts Scripture.
- 1:30:48It was written 600 years after the Bible was written, the Bible
- 1:30:54says. If an Angel or anyone else
- 1:30:56gives. You a gospel other than what we
- 1:30:58had preached. Let them be accursed.
- 1:31:02I think it might say, but it's it's false.
- 1:31:05It's false. And so when you when everybody,
- 1:31:09not everybody, but when some people say that we all worship
- 1:31:13the same God, it's just we call them different names.
- 1:31:16Why does it say that Allah, Allah is the greatest of
- 1:31:20deceivers. But in first Samuel 15 verse 29,
- 1:31:24it's talking about God and it says he who is the glory of
- 1:31:28Israel does not lie. He does not lie or change his
- 1:31:35mind, for he is not a human being that he should change his
- 1:31:39mind. God doesn't change.
- 1:31:42He's the same. There isn't a different God.
- 1:31:46Jesus said if you've seen me, you've seen a reflection of the
- 1:31:49Father. Jesus, like I said before, he
- 1:31:53prayed that we would be one with him as he is one with the
- 1:31:57Father. There is that unification in
- 1:32:03spirit between the Father and the Son, and Jesus asked the
- 1:32:08Father for that, for all of us. Jesus didn't want to be
- 1:32:14separated from the Father and there is pure joy in that
- 1:32:19connection to the Father. People who've had near death
- 1:32:23experiences, they have, they have mentioned that there has
- 1:32:28been this like overwhelming joy and peace in the presence of
- 1:32:32wherever they went, whatever they saw in spirit and they
- 1:32:37didn't want to come back to this earth.
- 1:32:41And there's like that's a very common theme from people who
- 1:32:47have had the spirit experience in their lives.
- 1:32:49Usually like everybody who added something like that, I mean,
- 1:32:52their lives changed as a result of it because they actually got
- 1:32:57to experience something of the presence of and then they all
- 1:33:01said about the love of God, like this just unbelievable amount of
- 1:33:05love that they felt. So anyway, I, I, there's
- 1:33:11probably things that I need to read about and this is gone.
- 1:33:14Oh my gosh, I can't believe how long I've talked.
- 1:33:16But OK, there's there's questions and answers.
- 1:33:20I will get into it just to complete this because we're
- 1:33:23wrapping up this book of Joel. But we need to be watchful.
- 1:33:27We need to be in a good relationship of God.
- 1:33:30And here's the last of the questions and answers.
- 1:33:34What had Tyre and Sidon done? They had invaded and plundered
- 1:33:37Judah repeatedly, taking Israelites captive and selling
- 1:33:40them in Greek slave markets across the Aegean Sea.
- 1:33:43They treated their captives inhumanely, holding them in in
- 1:33:47the bellies of the overcrowded ships and selling them like
- 1:33:50cattle to the highest bidder. Did God challenge the nations to
- 1:33:54battle? In a sense, yes.
- 1:33:56The theme is still judgement. But now Joel's prophecy extends
- 1:34:00far into the future. As the great final battle, all
- 1:34:04the armies of darkness, according to Revelation 1919,
- 1:34:09will March against God and his armies of righteousness.
- 1:34:13In the end, there will be utterly crushed by God's total
- 1:34:17final victory. What kind of harvest does God
- 1:34:20intend to take? Soldiers, or perhaps nations
- 1:34:23will be mowed down as grains cut down by a sickle.
- 1:34:26The harvest is the. Slaughter.
- 1:34:28Those cut down by God's judgement in the final battle
- 1:34:31between good and evil. What is the Valley of Decision?
- 1:34:35The Valley of Jehoshaphat, where the final battle will take
- 1:34:39place. The decision may reflect the
- 1:34:41outcome of the battle God will win decisively.
- 1:34:46On the other hand, this may speak of God's judgement as a
- 1:34:49decision handed down by a judge. What is the day of the Lord?
- 1:34:53This refers to any time God deals with a nation or
- 1:34:57generation so that it will return to its spiritual senses.
- 1:35:02The final day of reckoning, however, will be when Jesus
- 1:35:05returns. How will the sun, moon, and
- 1:35:09stars be darkened? We can only guess, but it seems
- 1:35:12that Joel was describing a cataclysmic event that will
- 1:35:16obscure the skies and contaminate the atmosphere.
- 1:35:19When will Jerusalem finally be holy and safe?
- 1:35:24Some say Jerusalem's security will occur as soon as Jesus
- 1:35:28returns to route Satan and his evil armies.
- 1:35:32Others, those who believe in a literal 1000 year peaceful reign
- 1:35:36of Christ on earth according to Revelation chapter 20 verse 4,
- 1:35:41think Jerusalem will be secure in the end.
- 1:35:44So I don't know. In Matthew 24, verses 30 through
- 1:35:5031 is when Jesus returns to route Satan as armies.
- 1:35:53So Jesus is present when peace will be there.
- 1:35:56That's bottom line. In summary, what is this
- 1:36:00fountain? This is a picture of a flowing
- 1:36:02source of freshwater that washes away filth and contamination.
- 1:36:06It also depicts a freshwater spring invigorating all who
- 1:36:10dwell by it and drink from it. See Ezekiel chapter 47.
- 1:36:15And as we mentioned, there's also this temple, there's the
- 1:36:18throne of God where the water is flowing from there out of the
- 1:36:22Lord's house. And so it's there's a lot more
- 1:36:26in the other prophecies that talk about this period of time.
- 1:36:31And this is something in our future.
- 1:36:33So bottom line is make sure that your relationship is good and
- 1:36:40that you've repented for anything that would separate you
- 1:36:43from God and ask God for the Holy Spirit if you haven't
- 1:36:48already received the Holy Spirit.
- 1:36:49If you have the Holy Spirit, stay in the word, stay connected
- 1:36:53to God. This is not a time to be quote
- 1:36:56backsliding because we don't know when our time is up when
- 1:37:01God says that's it. And that's when there's no
- 1:37:05change after that, whenever our life is here on earth, if it
- 1:37:09ends, I say if it ends because those who are alive when Jesus
- 1:37:15is here, when he comes back, they will not experience death.
- 1:37:20They'll just be changed into an immortal.
- 1:37:22So there's going to be people who don't die, but most people
- 1:37:26will have a a death at least one.
- 1:37:29And that's what the Bible calls being, you know, falling asleep.
- 1:37:32But the second death is when people get thrown into the
- 1:37:35burning lake of sulfur. If in judgement, they are judged
- 1:37:39that way by God. So anyway, just it's not a time
- 1:37:44to play around with your faith with God.
- 1:37:48There's too many things that are happening right now that sound
- 1:37:51like what's described in this book of Joel.
- 1:37:54I don't know, what do you think?
