  they

• 2:08
  And
• 2:09
  these
• 2:09
  are
• 2:09
  the
• 2:09
  things
• 2:10
  that
• 2:10
  people
• 2:10
  think
• 2:11
  are
• 2:11
  the
• 2:11
  old
• 2:11
  wives
• 2:12
  tales,
• 2:12
  as
• 2:12
  they
• 2:12
  say,
• 2:13
  or
• 2:13
  just
• 2:13
  those
• 2:14
  things
• 2:14
  that
• 2:14
  maybe
• 2:15
  somebody's
• 2:15
  grandpa
• 2:16
  said
• 2:17
  that
• 2:17
  doesn't
• 2:17
  work
• 2:17
  anymore.
• 2:18
  Maybe
• 2:19
  it
• 2:19
  worked
• 2:19
  50
• 2:19
  years
• 2:19
  ago,
• 2:20
  but
• 2:20
  it
• 2:21
  sure
• 2:21
  doesn't
• 2:21
  now.
• 2:23
  So
• 2:23
  let's
• 2:23
  dive
• 2:23
  headfirst
• 2:24
  into
• 2:24
  my
• 2:24
  top
• 2:25

• 2:25

  myths.
• 2:26
  Number
• 2:27
  one
• 2:27
  is
• 2:27
  a
• 2:27
  big
• 2:27
  one.
• 2:28
  You
• 2:28
  hear
• 2:28
  it
• 2:28
  on
• 2:28
  the
• 2:28
  show
• 2:28
  a
• 2:29
  lot,
• 2:29
  but
• 2:29
  I
• 2:30
  had
• 2:30
  to
• 2:30
  put
• 2:30
  it
• 2:30
  on
• 2:30
  here.
• 2:30
  Just
• 2:31
  because
• 2:31
  it's
• 2:31
  in
• 2:31
  the
• 2:31
  home
• 2:32
  center
• 2:32
  doesn't
• 2:33
  mean
• 2:33
  that
• 2:33
  it
• 2:34
  meets
• 2:34
  building
• 2:34
  code
• 2:35
  and
• 2:35
  you
• 2:36
  should
• 2:36
  use
• 2:36
  it.
• 2:37
  Things
• 2:37
  like
• 2:38
  vent
• 2:38
  hoods
• 2:38
  that
• 2:39
  recycle
• 2:39
  air,
• 2:39
  that
• 2:40
  push
• 2:40
  it
• 2:40
  back
• 2:40
  in
• 2:40
  your
• 2:41
  face,
• 2:41
  as
• 2:41
  we
• 2:41
  call
• 2:41
  them
• 2:42
  forehead
• 2:42
  dusters.
• 2:43
  To
• 2:44
  many
• 2:44
  things
• 2:44
  on
• 2:45
  the
• 2:45
  shelf
• 2:46
  might
• 2:46
  not
• 2:47
  meet
• 2:47
  building
• 2:47
  code
• 2:48
  in
• 2:48
  your
• 2:48
  area.
• 2:48
  So
• 2:49
  just
• 2:49
  because
• 2:49
  you
• 2:49
  can
• 2:49
  buy
• 2:50
  it
• 2:50
  doesn't
• 2:50
  mean
• 2:50
  it's
• 2:51
  the
• 2:51
  right
• 2:51
  way
• 2:51
  to
• 2:52
  do
• 2:52
  it.
• 2:52
  And
• 2:53
  that's
• 2:53
  the
• 2:53
  issue
• 2:53
  so
• 2:53
  many
• 2:54
  times
• 2:54
  these
• 2:54
  national
• 2:55
  retailers
• 2:55
  have
• 2:56
  no
• 2:56
  idea
• 2:56
  what's
• 2:56
  legal
• 2:57
  and
• 2:57
  not
• 2:58
  and
• 2:58
  it's
• 2:58
  on
• 2:58
  the
• 2:58
  shelf
• 2:59
  anyway.
• 2:59
  There
• 3:00
  are
• 3:00
  some
• 3:00
  new
• 3:00
  products
• 3:01
  out
• 3:01
  there
• 3:01
  that
• 3:01
  work
• 3:02
  well.
• 3:02
  There
• 3:02
  are
• 3:02
  some
• 3:03
  out
• 3:03
  there
• 3:03
  that
• 3:04
  if
• 3:04
  you
• 3:04
  put
• 3:05
  it
• 3:05
  in
• 3:05
  and
• 3:05
  had
• 3:06
  a
• 3:06
  house
• 3:06
  inspection
• 3:07
  right
• 3:07
  afterwards,
• 3:07
  they'd
• 3:08
  throw
• 3:08
  it
• 3:08
  away
• 3:09
  and
• 3:09
  tell
• 3:09
  you
• 3:09
  to
• 3:09
  do
• 3:09
  it
• 3:09
  over
• 3:10
  again.
• 3:11
  So
• 3:11
  things
• 3:12
  like
• 3:13
  those
• 3:13
  vent
• 3:13
  hoods
• 3:14
  or
• 3:14
  even
• 3:15
  shark
• 3:15
  bike
• 3:15
  fittings.
• 3:16
  Yeah,
• 3:16
  they
• 3:16
  might
• 3:17
  meet
• 3:17
  building
• 3:17
  code.
• 3:17
  It
• 3:18
  doesn't
• 3:18
  mean
• 3:18
  that
• 3:18
  you
• 3:18
  should
• 3:18
  be
• 3:19
  using
• 3:19
  them.
• 3:19
  I'm
• 3:19
  a
• 3:20
  big
• 3:20
  proponent
• 3:20
  of
• 3:21
  not
• 3:21
  using
• 3:21
  those.
• 3:22
  They're
• 3:22
  great
• 3:22
  temporary
• 3:23
  fittings.
• 3:24
  But
• 3:24
  if
• 3:24
  you
• 3:24
  want
• 3:25
  to
• 3:25
  fix
• 3:25
  it,
• 3:25
  do
• 3:25
  it
• 3:26
  right.
• 3:26
  Sweat
• 3:27
  the
• 3:27
  copper
• 3:27
  on,
• 3:28
  use
• 3:28
  the
• 3:28
  crimp
• 3:29
  or
• 3:29
  expanding
• 3:30
  connections
• 3:30
  with
• 3:31
  pex.
• 3:31
  Those
• 3:32
  are
• 3:32
  great
• 3:33
  for
• 3:33
  capping
• 3:34
  off
• 3:34
  a
• 3:34
  line
• 3:34
  when
• 3:34
  you're
• 3:34
  working
• 3:35
  on
• 3:35
  a
• 3:35
  remodel
• 3:35
  or
• 3:36
  something
• 3:36
  like
• 3:36
  that.
• 3:37
  But
• 3:37
  it's
• 3:37
  temporary.
• 3:38
  I've
• 3:38
  seen
• 3:38
  way
• 3:39
  too
• 3:39
  many
• 3:39
  things
• 3:40
  fail,
• 3:41
  especially
• 3:42
  the
• 3:42
  shark
• 3:43
  bite
• 3:43
  fittings
• 3:43
  on
• 3:44
  CPVC
• 3:45
  is
• 3:45
  where
• 3:45
  I
• 3:45
  see
• 3:45
  the
• 3:46
  most.
• 3:46
  They'll
• 3:46
  slide
• 3:46
  off
• 3:47
  right
• 3:47
  off
• 3:47
  the
• 3:47
  end
• 3:48
  and
• 3:48
  you've
• 3:49
  got
• 3:49
  a
• 3:49
  huge
• 3:49
  problem.
• 3:50
  I've
• 3:50
  seen
• 3:50
  hundreds
• 3:51
  of
• 3:51
  thousands
• 3:51
  of
• 3:52
  dollars
• 3:52
  of
• 3:52
  damage
• 3:52
  by
• 3:53
  these
• 3:53
  things
• 3:53
  failing
• 3:54
  that
• 3:55
  were
• 3:55
  installed
• 3:56
  correctly.
• 3:58
  So
• 3:58
  these
• 3:58
  are
• 3:58
  the
• 3:58
  things
• 3:58
  you
• 3:59
  need
• 3:59
  to
• 3:59
  be
• 3:59
  careful
• 3:59
  for.
• 4:00
  And
• 4:00
  I
• 4:00
  think
• 4:00
  that's
• 4:01
  why
• 4:01
  a
• 4:01
  lot
• 4:01
  of
• 4:01
  these
• 4:01
  companies
• 4:01
  have
• 4:02
  re
• 4:02
  engineered
• 4:02
  these.
• 4:03
  They've
• 4:03
  made
• 4:03
  some
• 4:03
  changes,
• 4:04
  they've
• 4:04
  done
• 4:05
  it.
• 4:05
  But
• 4:05
  be
• 4:05
  careful
• 4:06
  out
• 4:06
  there.
• 4:06
  Just
• 4:07
  because
• 4:07
  it's
• 4:07
  in
• 4:07
  the
• 4:07
  home
• 4:08
  center
• 4:08
  doesn't
• 4:09
  mean
• 4:09
  you
• 4:09
  should
• 4:09
  be
• 4:09
  using
• 4:10
  it.
• 4:10
  Or
• 4:10
  even
• 4:11
  better,
• 4:11
  that
• 4:11
  it
• 4:11
  meets
• 4:12
  building
• 4:12
  code.
• 4:13
  Now
• 4:13
  the
• 4:13
  next
• 4:14
  one
• 4:14
  here
• 4:15
  is
• 4:15
  if
• 4:15
  you
• 4:15
  post
• 4:16
  up
• 4:16
  a
• 4:16
  picture
• 4:16
  on
• 4:16

• 4:17

• 4:18
  This
• 4:18
  will
• 4:18
  happen
• 4:19
  all
• 4:19
  the
• 4:19
  time.
• 4:19
  I
• 4:20
  could
• 4:20
  test
• 4:20
  it
• 4:20
  right
• 4:21
  now.
• 4:21
  If
• 4:21
  I
• 4:21
  jump
• 4:21
  into
• 4:21
  one
• 4:22
  of
• 4:22
  my
• 4:22
  favorite
• 4:23

• 4:24
  groups
• 4:24
  on

• 4:26
  If
• 4:26
  I
• 4:26
  post
• 4:26
  up
• 4:27
  a
• 4:27
  picture
• 4:28
  of,
• 4:28
  let's
• 4:28
  say
• 4:29
  it's

• 4:35
  there'll
• 4:36
  be
• 4:36
  somebody
• 4:36
  on
• 4:36
  there
• 4:36
  that
• 4:37
  says,
• 4:37
  don't
• 4:37
  worry
• 4:37
  about
• 4:38
  it.
• 4:38
  Yeah,
• 4:38
  it
• 4:38
  might
• 4:38
  be
• 4:38
  asbestos.
• 4:39
  I've
• 4:39
  dealt
• 4:40
  with
• 4:40
  asbestos
• 4:40
  for
• 4:40
  30
• 4:41
  years
• 4:41
  on
• 4:41
  job
• 4:41

• 4:42
  and
• 4:42
  I've
• 4:42
  been
• 4:42
  perfectly
• 4:43
  fine.
• 4:44
  Here's
• 4:44
  the
• 4:44
  problem,
• 4:45
  guys.
• 4:46
  These
• 4:46
  people
• 4:47
  that
• 4:48
  will
• 4:48
  tell
• 4:48
  you
• 4:48
  that
• 4:48
  are
• 4:49
  that
• 4:49
  40
• 4:49
  years
• 4:50
  in
• 4:50
  the
• 4:50
  contracting
• 4:51
  industry
• 4:52
  have
• 4:52
  been
• 4:52
  doing
• 4:52
  it
• 4:53
  wrong
• 4:53
  for
• 4:53
  decades.
• 4:54
  These
• 4:54
  are
• 4:54
  generally
• 4:55
  also
• 4:55
  the
• 4:55
  people
• 4:55
  that
• 4:56
  don't
• 4:56
  show
• 4:56
  up
• 4:56
  to
• 4:56
  the
• 4:56
  doctor
• 4:57
  for
• 4:57
  15
• 4:57
  or
• 4:58
  20
• 4:58
  years
• 4:59
  and
• 4:59
  they
• 4:59
  haven't
• 5:00
  seen
• 5:00
  a
• 5:00
  dentist
• 5:00
  in
• 5:00
  20
• 5:01
  years.
• 5:02
  So
• 5:02
  they
• 5:02
  haven't
• 5:03
  caught
• 5:03
  anything
• 5:03
  that
• 5:04
  they
• 5:04
  don't
• 5:04
  know
• 5:04
  about
• 5:04
  already.
• 5:05
  This
• 5:06
  is
• 5:06
  usually
• 5:07
  horrible
• 5:07
  advice.
• 5:09
  So
• 5:09
  you
• 5:09
  want
• 5:09
  to
• 5:09
  make
• 5:10
  sure
• 5:10
  that
• 5:11
  asbestos
• 5:11
  is
• 5:12
  dealt
• 5:12
  with
• 5:12
  correctly.
• 5:13
  Because
• 5:13
  it's
• 5:13
  not
• 5:13
  only
• 5:14
  you,
• 5:14
  it's
• 5:14
  the
• 5:14
  people
• 5:14
  that
• 5:15
  are
• 5:15
  working
• 5:15
  at
• 5:15
  the
• 5:15
  landfill
• 5:16
  or
• 5:17
  the
• 5:17
  transfer
• 5:17
  station.
• 5:18
  If
• 5:18
  you
• 5:18
  go
• 5:19
  in
• 5:19
  there
• 5:20
  and
• 5:20
  spray
• 5:21
  some
• 5:21
  water
• 5:21
  on
• 5:22
  that
• 5:22
  basement
• 5:22
  floor,
• 5:23
  pop
• 5:23
  up
• 5:23
  that
• 5:24
  tile
• 5:24
  and
• 5:25
  put
• 5:25
  it
• 5:25
  in
• 5:25
  a
• 5:25
  single
• 5:26
  garbage
• 5:26
  bag
• 5:26
  and
• 5:26
  throw
• 5:27
  it
• 5:27
  in
• 5:27
  your
• 5:27
  trash
• 5:27
  can
• 5:28
  and
• 5:28
  it
• 5:28
  goes
• 5:28
  to
• 5:28
  the
• 5:29
  recycling
• 5:29
  place
• 5:29
  or
• 5:30
  goes
• 5:30
  down
• 5:30
  there,
• 5:30
  guess
• 5:31
  what?
• 5:32
  You
• 5:32
  could
• 5:32
  be
• 5:32
  putting
• 5:33
  those
• 5:33
  workers
• 5:33
  at
• 5:34
  risk
• 5:34
  by
• 5:35
  feeding
• 5:35
  them
• 5:35
  asbestos.
• 5:36
  So
• 5:36
  it's
• 5:37
  not
• 5:37
  just
• 5:37
  only
• 5:37
  about
• 5:37
  you.
• 5:38
  You
• 5:39
  can
• 5:39
  do
• 5:39
  your
• 5:39
  Own
• 5:39
  thing.
• 5:40
  First
• 5:41
  off,
• 5:41
  it
• 5:41
  could
• 5:41
  be
• 5:42
  a
• 5:42
  serious
• 5:42
  issue
• 5:43
  in
• 5:44
  your
• 5:44
  state,
• 5:44
  city
• 5:45
  or
• 5:45
  wherever
• 5:45
  else.
• 5:45
  By
• 5:46
  doing
• 5:46
  it
• 5:46
  incorrectly,
• 5:47
  that
• 5:48
  could
• 5:48
  open
• 5:48
  you
• 5:48
  up
• 5:48
  to
• 5:48
  liability.
• 5:49
  I
• 5:49
  have
• 5:50
  seen
• 5:50
  homeowners
• 5:51
  do
• 5:51
  this
• 5:51
  incorrectly
• 5:52
  and
• 5:52
  contractors
• 5:53
  do
• 5:53
  this
• 5:53
  incorrectly
• 5:54
  and
• 5:55
  I
• 5:55
  have
• 5:55
  seen
• 5:55
  them
• 5:55
  get
• 5:56
  hit
• 5:56
  with
• 5:57
  hundred
• 5:57
  thousand
• 5:57
  dollar
• 5:58
  fines
• 5:58
  for
• 5:58
  this.
• 5:59
  So
• 6:00
  yeah,
• 6:01
  asbestos
• 6:02
  can
• 6:02
  be
• 6:02
  ignored,
• 6:03
  but
• 6:03
  you
• 6:03
  run
• 6:03
  a
• 6:04
  massive
• 6:04
  risk
• 6:05
  by
• 6:05
  doing
• 6:05
  it
• 6:06
  that
• 6:06
  way.
• 6:07
  So
• 6:07
  test
• 6:08
  it,
• 6:08
  understand
• 6:09
  what
• 6:09
  you're
• 6:10
  working
• 6:10
  with
• 6:11
  and
• 6:11
  deal
• 6:11
  with
• 6:11
  it
• 6:12
  correctly.
• 6:12
  If
• 6:13
  you
• 6:13
  want
• 6:13
  to
• 6:13
  do
• 6:14
  it
• 6:14
  as
• 6:14
  a
• 6:14
  DIY
• 6:15
  project,
• 6:16
  you
• 6:16
  better
• 6:16
  understand
• 6:17
  it
• 6:17
  like
• 6:17
  you're
• 6:17
  an
• 6:18
  asbestos
• 6:18
  contractor
• 6:19
  so
• 6:19
  you
• 6:19
  know
• 6:20
  what
• 6:20
  to
• 6:20
  do.
• 6:20
  Because
• 6:21
  here's
• 6:21
  the
• 6:21
  problem.
• 6:22
  Asbestos
• 6:22
  fibers
• 6:24
  are
• 6:24
  so
• 6:24
  small,
• 6:25
  if
• 6:26
  they're
• 6:26
  floating
• 6:26
  around
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  air,
• 6:27
  you
• 6:28
  can
• 6:28
  get
• 6:28
  multiple
• 6:29
  exposures
• 6:30
  to
• 6:30
  this.
• 6:30
  Being
• 6:31
  in
• 6:31
  that
• 6:31
  same
• 6:31
  house.
• 6:32
  So
• 6:33
  many
• 6:33
  times
• 6:33
  I
• 6:33
  tell
• 6:34
  people
• 6:34
  if
• 6:34
  they've
• 6:35
  had
• 6:35
  somebody
• 6:36
  come
• 6:36
  in
• 6:36
  and
• 6:36
  do
• 6:36
  this
• 6:36
  wrong,
• 6:37
  you
• 6:38
  really
• 6:38
  need
• 6:38
  to
• 6:38
  have
• 6:39
  a
• 6:39
  professional
• 6:39
  cleaner
• 6:40
  come
• 6:40
  in
• 6:40
  and
• 6:40
  get
• 6:41
  everything
• 6:42
  cleaned
• 6:42
  up
• 6:42
  in
• 6:42
  their
• 6:43
  HEPA
• 6:43
  filtration.
• 6:44
  Everything
• 6:45
  needs
• 6:45
  to
• 6:45
  be
• 6:45
  wiped
• 6:46
  down.
• 6:47
  Clean
• 6:47
  out
• 6:47
  the
• 6:47
  ducts,
• 6:48
  anything
• 6:48
  you
• 6:49
  can
• 6:49
  do
• 6:49
  to
• 6:49
  get
• 6:49
  this
• 6:50
  out
• 6:50
  of
• 6:50
  the
• 6:50
  air.
• 6:50
  Because
• 6:51
  this
• 6:51
  could
• 6:52
  be
• 6:52
  a
• 6:52
  long
• 6:52
  term
• 6:52
  issue
• 6:53
  down
• 6:53
  the
• 6:53
  road.
• 6:54
  Those
• 6:54
  things
• 6:54
  can
• 6:55
  stay
• 6:55
  in
• 6:55
  the
• 6:56
  air.
• 6:56
  I've
• 6:56
  heard
• 6:56
  tests
• 6:57
  that
• 6:57
  have
• 6:57
  shown
• 6:58
  it
• 6:58
  can
• 6:58
  be
• 6:58
  a
• 6:59
  year
• 6:59
  later
• 6:59
  that
• 6:59
  stuff's
• 7:00
  still
• 7:00
  floating
• 7:00
  around
• 7:00
  the
• 7:01
  house.
• 7:01
  Then
• 7:01
  you've
• 7:02
  got
• 7:02
  multiple
• 7:02
  exposures.
• 7:03
  So
• 7:04
  make
• 7:04
  sure
• 7:04
  you
• 7:05
  be
• 7:05
  careful
• 7:06
  with
• 7:06
  asbestos
• 7:07
  and
• 7:08
  like
• 7:08
  lead
• 7:08
  paint,
• 7:09
  deal
• 7:09
  with
• 7:09
  it
• 7:09
  correctly,
• 7:10
  follow
• 7:11
  the
• 7:11
  rules,
• 7:11
  follow
• 7:12
  the
• 7:12
  law
• 7:12
  and
• 7:12
  the
• 7:13
  best
• 7:13
  practices
• 7:14
  and
• 7:14
  you'll
• 7:14
  be
• 7:14
  good.
• 7:15
  Now
• 7:15
  this
• 7:16
  next
• 7:16
  one
• 7:17
  is
• 7:17
  a
• 7:18
  big
• 7:18
  one
• 7:18
  and
• 7:18
  I'm
• 7:18
  gonna
• 7:18
  give
• 7:18
  this
• 7:19
  one
• 7:19
  a
• 7:19
  little
• 7:19
  more
• 7:19
  time
• 7:20
  so
• 7:20
  I
• 7:20
  can
• 7:20
  help
• 7:20
  you
• 7:21
  understand
• 7:21
  what's
• 7:21
  going
• 7:22
  on
• 7:22
  here.
• 7:23
  And
• 7:23
  it's
• 7:23
  all
• 7:24
  plumbers
• 7:25
  and
• 7:25
  electricians
• 7:26
  rip
• 7:26
  you
• 7:26
  off.
• 7:27
  Here's
• 7:28
  the
• 7:28
  thing,
• 7:29
  the
• 7:29
  trades
• 7:29
  can
• 7:30
  be
• 7:30
  expensive.
• 7:31
  But
• 7:31
  many
• 7:32
  of
• 7:32
  these
• 7:32
  people
• 7:32
  that
• 7:32
  you're
• 7:33
  calling
• 7:33
  to
• 7:33
  fix
• 7:33
  problems
• 7:34
  are
• 7:34
  local
• 7:35
  small
• 7:35
  business
• 7:35
  owners.
• 7:36
  If
• 7:37
  you
• 7:37
  live
• 7:37
  in
• 7:37
  a
• 7:38
  high
• 7:38
  tax
• 7:38
  state
• 7:39
  with
• 7:39
  lots
• 7:39
  of
• 7:39
  business
• 7:40
  taxes
• 7:41
  and
• 7:41
  expensive
• 7:42
  rules
• 7:42
  to
• 7:42
  follow,
• 7:43
  you
• 7:44
  are
• 7:44
  going
• 7:44
  to
• 7:44
  pay
• 7:44
  more.
• 7:45
  Add
• 7:46
  even
• 7:46
  more
• 7:46
  to
• 7:46
  this.
• 7:47
  If
• 7:47
  you
• 7:47
  have
• 7:47
  eliminated
• 7:48
  all
• 7:48
  the
• 7:48
  trades
• 7:48
  programs
• 7:49
  from
• 7:49
  your
• 7:49
  high
• 7:49
  school,
• 7:50
  if
• 7:50
  there's
• 7:51
  no
• 7:51
  auto
• 7:51
  shop,
• 7:51
  if
• 7:52
  there's
• 7:52
  no
• 7:52
  woodworking,
• 7:53
  if
• 7:53
  there's
• 7:53
  none
• 7:54
  of
• 7:54
  that
• 7:54
  stuff
• 7:54
  again,
• 7:55
  you've
• 7:55
  now
• 7:56
  created
• 7:56
  more
• 7:57
  of
• 7:57
  our
• 7:57
  shortage
• 7:58
  of
• 7:58
  skilled
• 7:58
  workers.
• 7:59
  And
• 8:00
  many
• 8:00
  people
• 8:00
  in
• 8:01
  the
• 8:01
  trades
• 8:01
  now
• 8:02
  that
• 8:02
  are
• 8:03
  journeyman
• 8:03
  type
• 8:04
  plumbers
• 8:04
  and
• 8:04
  electricians
• 8:06
  are
• 8:06
  well
• 8:06
  into
• 8:07
  the
• 8:07
  six
• 8:07
  figure
• 8:08
  average
• 8:09
  of
• 8:09
  income.
• 8:10
  So
• 8:10
  when
• 8:10
  you
• 8:10
  put
• 8:11
  in
• 8:11
  the
• 8:11
  expensive
• 8:12
  business
• 8:12
  costs
• 8:13
  on
• 8:13
  top
• 8:13
  of
• 8:13
  that,
• 8:14
  you
• 8:14
  can
• 8:14
  be
• 8:15
  paying
• 8:15
  hundreds
• 8:16
  of
• 8:16
  dollars
• 8:16
  an
• 8:17
  hour
• 8:18
  for
• 8:18
  that
• 8:18
  pro
• 8:18
  to
• 8:18
  work
• 8:19
  and
• 8:19
  to
• 8:20
  make
• 8:20
  money.
• 8:20
  So
• 8:21
  let's
• 8:21
  walk
• 8:21
  through
• 8:22
  how
• 8:22
  this
• 8:22
  breaks
• 8:22
  down
• 8:23
  here
• 8:23
  because
• 8:23
  it's
• 8:23
  an
• 8:23
  important
• 8:24
  one.
• 8:25
  So
• 8:25
  let's
• 8:25
  say
• 8:26
  you're
• 8:26
  looking
• 8:26
  at
• 8:26
  a
• 8:26
  plumber.
• 8:27
  And
• 8:28
  in
• 8:28
  my
• 8:28
  area
• 8:28
  here,
• 8:29
  I
• 8:29
  think
• 8:29
  their
• 8:29
  average
• 8:29
  is
• 8:30
  about
• 8:30
  $53
• 8:31
  an
• 8:32
  hour
• 8:32
  is
• 8:32
  what
• 8:32
  they
• 8:33
  make
• 8:34
  and
• 8:34
  their
• 8:34
  paycheck's
• 8:35
  up.
• 8:36
  So
• 8:36
  if
• 8:36
  you're
• 8:36
  paying
• 8:36
  them
• 8:36
  by
• 8:36
  the
• 8:37
  hour,
• 8:37
  let's
• 8:37
  say
• 8:37
  it's
• 8:37
  $53.
• 8:39
  There's
• 8:39
  more,
• 8:40
  there's
• 8:40
  less.
• 8:40
  But
• 8:40
  let's
• 8:41
  go
• 8:41
  with
• 8:41
  that.
• 8:42
  You
• 8:42
  have
• 8:42
  the
• 8:42
  additional
• 8:43
  labor
• 8:44
  related
• 8:44
  expenses,
• 8:45
  payroll
• 8:46
  taxes,
• 8:47
  taxes,
• 8:47
  workers
• 8:48
  compensation
• 8:49
  benefits
• 8:49
  like
• 8:50
  their
• 8:50
  health
• 8:50
  insurance
• 8:51
  for
• 8:51
  1K.
• 8:52
  These
• 8:53
  numbers
• 8:53
  like
• 8:53
  that
• 8:54
  typically
• 8:54
  add
• 8:55
  20
• 8:55
  to
• 8:55
  30%
• 8:57
  to
• 8:57
  the
• 8:57
  base
• 8:58
  wage.
• 8:59
  So
• 8:59
  in
• 8:59
  assuming
• 8:59
  there's
• 9:00
  a
• 9:00
  25%
• 9:00
  markup
• 9:01
  for
• 9:01
  these
• 9:01
  costs,
• 9:02
  now
• 9:02
  you've
• 9:03
  gone
• 9:03
  from
• 9:03
  53
• 9:04
  to
• 9:05
  let's
• 9:06
  say
• 9:06
  66,
• 9:07
  $67
• 9:08
  an
• 9:08
  hour.
• 9:08
  Now
• 9:09
  you've
• 9:09
  got
• 9:09
  overhead
• 9:09
  costs.
• 9:10
  You've
• 9:11
  got
• 9:11
  business
• 9:12
  expenses
• 9:13
  like
• 9:13
  vehicle
• 9:13
  insurance,
• 9:14
  vehicle
• 9:14
  maintenance,
• 9:15
  fuel,
• 9:15
  tools,
• 9:15
  office
• 9:16
  rent,
• 9:16
  utilities,
• 9:17
  marketing,
• 9:18
  administrative
• 9:18
  stuff,
• 9:19
  all
• 9:19
  that
• 9:20
  stuff.
• 9:20
  And
• 9:20
  with
• 9:21
  our
• 9:21
  high,
• 9:21
  if
• 9:22
  you
• 9:22
  have
• 9:22
  a
• 9:22
  high
• 9:22
  cost
• 9:23
  of
• 9:23
  overhead,
• 9:24
  like
• 9:24
  living
• 9:25
  expenses,
• 9:25
  that's
• 9:25
  even
• 9:26
  more
• 9:27
  so
• 9:27
  if
• 9:28
  you
• 9:28
  start
• 9:28
  to
• 9:28
  look
• 9:29
  at
• 9:29
  that
• 9:30
  and
• 9:30
  start
• 9:30
  dividing
• 9:31
  the
• 9:31
  total
• 9:31
  monthly
• 9:32
  overhead
• 9:32
  by
• 9:32
  billable
• 9:33
  hours,
• 9:34
  let's
• 9:34
  say
• 9:35
  that
• 9:35
  monthly
• 9:35
  overhead
• 9:36
  is
• 9:36
  $4,000
• 9:37
  and
• 9:37
  the
• 9:37
  business
• 9:38
  has
• 9:38
  500
• 9:38
  billable
• 9:39
  hours
• 9:39
  per
• 9:39
  month.
• 9:40
  That
• 9:40
  adds
• 9:41
  about
• 9:41
  $8
• 9:41
  per
• 9:42
  hour
• 9:42
  to
• 9:43
  that.
• 9:44
  So
• 9:44
  when
• 9:44
  we
• 9:44
  come
• 9:45
  back
• 9:45
  here,
• 9:45
  I
• 9:45
  want
• 9:45
  to
• 9:45
  talk
• 9:46
  more
• 9:46
  about
• 9:46
  this
• 9:46
  and
• 9:46
  we're
• 9:47
  going
• 9:47
  to
• 9:47
  continue
• 9:47
  this
• 9:47
  conversation
• 9:49
  because
• 9:50
  in
• 9:50
  many
• 9:50
  big
• 9:50
  cities,
• 9:51
  for
• 9:51
  instance
• 9:51
  here,
• 9:52
  you've
• 9:52
  got
• 9:52
  a
• 9:53
  higher
• 9:53
  urban
• 9:53
  cost
• 9:53
  here
• 9:54
  to
• 9:54
  this.
• 9:55
  So
• 9:55
  that
• 9:55
  could
• 9:55
  add
• 9:55
  $10
• 9:56
  per
• 9:56
  hour
• 9:57
  for
• 9:57
  a
• 9:58
  small
• 9:58
  plumbing
• 9:58
  business.
• 9:59
  Now
• 9:59
  when
• 10:00
  we
• 10:00
  come
• 10:00
  back,
• 10:00
  we're
• 10:00
  going
• 10:00
  to
• 10:01
  finish
• 10:01
  this
• 10:01
  math
• 10:01
  so
• 10:01
  you
• 10:02
  can
• 10:02
  understand
• 10:02
  it
• 10:02
  because
• 10:02
  I
• 10:02
  really
• 10:03
  want
• 10:03
  everybody
• 10:03
  to
• 10:03
  understand
• 10:04
  why
• 10:04
  things
• 10:05
  are
• 10:05
  so
• 10:05
  expensive.
• 10:06
  We'll
• 10:06

• 10:06
  that
• 10:06
  just
• 10:06
  as

• 14:14
  I'll
• 14:14
  get
• 14:14
  back
• 14:14
  to
• 14:15
  you.
• 14:15
  So
• 14:16
  we
• 14:16
  were
• 14:16
  talking
• 14:16
  earlier
• 14:16
  in
• 14:17
  the
• 14:17
  first
• 14:17
  segment
• 14:17
  here
• 14:18
  this
• 14:18
  hour.
• 14:18
  Just
• 14:19
  because
• 14:19
  it's
• 14:19
  in
• 14:19
  the
• 14:19
  home
• 14:19
  center
• 14:20
  doesn't
• 14:20
  mean
• 14:20
  it
• 14:20
  meets
• 14:21
  building
• 14:21
  code.
• 14:22
  We
• 14:22
  talked
• 14:22
  about
• 14:22
  asbestos
• 14:23
  and
• 14:24
  then
• 14:24
  we
• 14:24
  were
• 14:24
  talking
• 14:25
  about
• 14:25
  that
• 14:25
  myth
• 14:25
  that
• 14:26
  plumbers
• 14:27
  and
• 14:27
  electricians
• 14:27
  and
• 14:28
  these
• 14:28
  trades
• 14:28
  people
• 14:28
  rip
• 14:29
  you
• 14:29
  off.
• 14:29
  So
• 14:30
  we
• 14:30
  were
• 14:30
  going
• 14:30
  down
• 14:31
  here
• 14:31
  through
• 14:31
  the
• 14:32
  math,
• 14:32
  breaking
• 14:32
  it
• 14:32
  down
• 14:33
  so
• 14:33
  you
• 14:33
  can
• 14:33
  help
• 14:33
  understand
• 14:34
  where
• 14:34
  this
• 14:34
  stuff
• 14:34
  comes
• 14:35
  from.
• 14:36
  And
• 14:36
  for
• 14:36
  instance,
• 14:36
  in
• 14:37
  my
• 14:37
  area,
• 14:38
  the
• 14:38
  average
• 14:38
  from
• 14:38
  what
• 14:39
  I
• 14:39
  did
• 14:39
  my
• 14:39
  research
• 14:39
  on
• 14:40
  is
• 14:40
  about
• 14:40
  53
• 14:41
  bucks
• 14:41
  an
• 14:41
  hour
• 14:42
  for
• 14:42
  what
• 14:42
  a
• 14:42
  plumber
• 14:43
  is
• 14:43
  paid
• 14:43
  on
• 14:43
  their
• 14:43
  paycheck.
• 14:44
  What's
• 14:45
  their
• 14:45
  base
• 14:45
  pay?
• 14:46
  So
• 14:46
  we
• 14:46
  were
• 14:46
  going
• 14:46
  through
• 14:47
  the
• 14:47
  base
• 14:47
  labor
• 14:47
  cost,
• 14:48
  the
• 14:48
  overhead
• 14:49
  cost
• 14:49
  and
• 14:50
  all
• 14:50
  of
• 14:50
  those
• 14:51
  things
• 14:51
  right
• 14:51
  there.
• 14:52
  So
• 14:52
  if
• 14:52
  you're
• 14:53
  combining
• 14:54
  the
• 14:54
  labor
• 14:55
  cost
• 14:55
  and
• 14:55
  overhead,
• 14:57
  so
• 14:57
  we
• 14:57
  were
• 14:57
  up
• 14:57
  to
• 14:58
  6625
• 14:59
  for
• 14:59
  labor
• 14:59
  plus
• 15:00
  $10
• 15:00
  for
• 15:00
  overhead.
• 15:01
  Now
• 15:01
  we're
• 15:02
  up
• 15:02
  to
• 15:02
  about
• 15:02
  76,
• 15:03
  25
• 15:03
  per
• 15:04
  hour.
• 15:05
  That's
• 15:05
  the
• 15:06
  break
• 15:06
  even
• 15:07
  cost.
• 15:08
  So
• 15:08
  if
• 15:08
  we
• 15:08
  go
• 15:09
  in
• 15:09
  that
• 15:09
  15
• 15:09
  to
• 15:10
  35%
• 15:11
  profit
• 15:11
  margin,
• 15:12
  with
• 15:12
  25%
• 15:13
  being
• 15:13
  a
• 15:13
  common
• 15:14
  number
• 15:15
  for
• 15:15
  that,
• 15:16
  now
• 15:16
  we're
• 15:16
  talking
• 15:17
  about
• 15:17
  the
• 15:18
  7625
• 15:19
  divided
• 15:20
  by
• 15:20
  75.
• 15:20
  So
• 15:20
  now
• 15:21
  we're
• 15:21
  at
• 15:21
  1
• 15:21
  on
• 15:21
  1.67
• 15:22
  per
• 15:23
  hour.
• 15:24
  So
• 15:25
  we
• 15:25
  start
• 15:25
  looking
• 15:26
  at
• 15:26
  these
• 15:26
  numbers
• 15:27
  now.
• 15:27
  If
• 15:28
  you're
• 15:28
  going
• 15:28
  to
• 15:28
  go
• 15:28
  for
• 15:28
  emergency
• 15:29
  after
• 15:29
  hours
• 15:30
  work
• 15:30
  like
• 15:30
  it's
• 15:31
  a
• 15:31
  holiday,
• 15:31
  it's
• 15:31
  a
• 15:32
  weekend,
• 15:32
  you're
• 15:33
  now
• 15:33
  doing
• 15:33
  a
• 15:33
  1.5
• 15:34
  to
• 15:34
  3
• 15:34
  times
• 15:35
  the
• 15:35
  standard
• 15:35
  rate.
• 15:36
  So
• 15:37
  you
• 15:37
  can
• 15:37
  now
• 15:37
  be
• 15:37
  at
• 15:38
  1:57-315
• 15:40
  an
• 15:41
  hour.
• 15:41
  So
• 15:42
  that
• 15:42
  starts
• 15:42
  to
• 15:42
  add
• 15:42
  up.
• 15:43
  Now
• 15:43
  you've
• 15:44
  got
• 15:44
  additional
• 15:45
  things
• 15:45
  to
• 15:45
  think
• 15:45
  about.
• 15:45
  Trip
• 15:46
  and
• 15:46
  service
• 15:46
  call
• 15:46
  fees.
• 15:47
  Many
• 15:47
  plumbers
• 15:47
  charge
• 15:48
  a
• 15:48
  flat
• 15:48
  service
• 15:48
  call
• 15:49
  feed
• 15:49
  from
• 15:49
  50
• 15:49
  to
• 15:49
  150
• 15:50
  bucks
• 15:50
  an
• 15:50
  hour.
• 15:51
  That's
• 15:52
  going
• 15:52
  to
• 15:52
  cover
• 15:52
  travel.
• 15:53
  And
• 15:53
  initial
• 15:53
  diagnostics
• 15:55
  could
• 15:55
  even
• 15:55
  include
• 15:55
  the
• 15:56
  first
• 15:56
  hour
• 15:56
  of
• 15:56
  labor,
• 15:57
  those
• 15:58
  kind
• 15:58
  of
• 15:58
  things.
• 15:58
  Now
• 15:58
  you
• 15:59
  got
• 15:59
  material
• 15:59
  costs,
• 16:01
  so
• 16:01
  you've
• 16:01
  got
• 16:02
  pipes
• 16:02
  fittings
• 16:03
  or
• 16:03
  in
• 16:04
  the
• 16:04
  electrical
• 16:04
  world,
• 16:05
  you
• 16:05
  got
• 16:05
  all
• 16:05
  the
• 16:05
  pieces
• 16:06
  there
• 16:07
  and
• 16:07
  they
• 16:08
  mark
• 16:08
  those
• 16:08
  up
• 16:08
  20
• 16:08
  to
• 16:09
  50%.
• 16:10
  So
• 16:10
  now
• 16:11
  we
• 16:11
  start
• 16:11
  seeing
• 16:12
  how
• 16:12
  these
• 16:13
  numbers
• 16:13
  come
• 16:13
  together.
• 16:14
  So
• 16:15
  the
• 16:15
  retail
• 16:15
  hourly
• 16:16
  late
• 16:16
  rate,
• 16:16
  let's
• 16:17
  say
• 16:17
  in
• 16:17
  my
• 16:17
  area,
• 16:17
  would
• 16:17
  be
• 16:18
  105
• 16:18
  per
• 16:18
  hour,
• 16:19
  which
• 16:20
  accounts
• 16:20
  for
• 16:20
  everything
• 16:21
  else.
• 16:22
  Now
• 16:22
  when
• 16:22
  you
• 16:22
  start
• 16:23
  getting
• 16:23
  into
• 16:23
  the
• 16:24
  higher
• 16:24
  cost
• 16:24
  of
• 16:24
  living
• 16:25
  and
• 16:25
  city
• 16:25
  stuff
• 16:26
  and
• 16:27
  the
• 16:27
  shortage
• 16:28
  out
• 16:28
  there,
• 16:28
  we
• 16:29
  can
• 16:29
  now
• 16:29
  get
• 16:29
  to
• 16:30
  the
• 16:30
  120
• 16:30
  to
• 16:31
  $150
• 16:32
  an
• 16:33
  hour.
• 16:34
  Now
• 16:34
  some
• 16:34
  places,
• 16:36
  plumbers,
• 16:36
  they'll
• 16:37
  charge
• 16:37
  you
• 16:37
  like
• 16:37
  drain
• 16:38
  cleaning.
• 16:38
  Sometimes
• 16:38
  they'll
• 16:39
  have
• 16:39
  a
• 16:39
  flat
• 16:39
  rate
• 16:39
  option.
• 16:40
  So
• 16:41
  it
• 16:41
  could
• 16:41
  be
• 16:42
  an
• 16:42
  estimate
• 16:42
  where
• 16:43
  they
• 16:43
  go,
• 16:43
  hey,
• 16:43
  we're
• 16:43
  going
• 16:43
  to
• 16:43
  do
• 16:44
  this
• 16:44
  for
• 16:44
  this.
• 16:44
  That's
• 16:45
  a
• 16:45
  whole
• 16:45
  thing.
• 16:46
  So
• 16:46
  think
• 16:47
  about
• 16:47
  how
• 16:47
  these
• 16:47
  numbers
• 16:47
  are.
• 16:48
  These
• 16:48
  guys
• 16:48
  aren't
• 16:48
  ripping
• 16:49
  you
• 16:49
  off.
• 16:50
  How
• 16:50
  we've
• 16:50
  done
• 16:50
  our
• 16:51
  businesses,
• 16:51
  how
• 16:51
  we've
• 16:52
  done
• 16:52
  our
• 16:52
  taxes,
• 16:53
  how
• 16:53
  our
• 16:54
  cost
• 16:54
  of
• 16:54
  living
• 16:54
  is
• 16:55
  in
• 16:55
  our
• 16:55
  communities
• 16:56
  all
• 16:57
  add
• 16:57
  up
• 16:57
  to
• 16:57
  this.
• 16:58
  So
• 16:59
  think
• 16:59
  about
• 17:00
  the
• 17:00
  next
• 17:00
  time
• 17:00
  you're
• 17:00
  out
• 17:01
  voting
• 17:01
  for
• 17:01
  these
• 17:01
  kind
• 17:01
  of
• 17:02
  things,
• 17:02
  when
• 17:02
  you
• 17:03
  start
• 17:03
  to
• 17:03
  see
• 17:04
  the
• 17:04
  taxes,
• 17:05
  all
• 17:05
  those
• 17:05
  kind
• 17:06
  of
• 17:06
  things,
• 17:06
  this
• 17:07
  is
• 17:07
  going
• 17:07
  to
• 17:07
  affect
• 17:08
  your
• 17:08
  projects.
• 17:08
  When
• 17:09
  it
• 17:09
  comes
• 17:09
  to
• 17:09
  plumbing,
• 17:10
  when
• 17:10
  it
• 17:10
  comes
• 17:10
  to
• 17:11
  H
• 17:11
  Vac,
• 17:12
  when
• 17:12
  it
• 17:12
  comes
• 17:12
  to
• 17:13
  electricians,
• 17:14
  anything
• 17:15
  in
• 17:15
  the
• 17:15
  trades,
• 17:16
  all
• 17:16
  these
• 17:16
  little
• 17:17
  expenses
• 17:17
  add
• 17:18
  up
• 17:18
  to
• 17:18
  a
• 17:18
  higher
• 17:18
  cost
• 17:19
  for
• 17:19
  you.
• 17:20
  And
• 17:21
  because
• 17:21
  there's
• 17:21
  a
• 17:21
  shortage
• 17:22
  out
• 17:22
  there
• 17:22
  for
• 17:22
  plumbers,
• 17:23
  I'm
• 17:23
  seeing
• 17:24
  plumbers,
• 17:24
  electricians,
• 17:25
  H
• 17:25
  Vac
• 17:25
  techs,
• 17:26
  still
• 17:26
  to
• 17:27
  this
• 17:27
  day
• 17:27
  where
• 17:28
  Companies
• 17:28
  are
• 17:29
  offering
• 17:29
  20
• 17:29
  or
• 17:30
  $30,000
• 17:31
  signing
• 17:31
  bonuses
• 17:32
  because
• 17:32
  they
• 17:33
  need
• 17:33
  them,
• 17:34
  that's
• 17:34
  coming
• 17:34
  out
• 17:35
  of
• 17:35
  that
• 17:35
  business's
• 17:36
  numbers
• 17:36
  as
• 17:36
  well.
• 17:37
  So
• 17:37
  it's
• 17:38
  going
• 17:38
  to
• 17:38
  be
• 17:38
  even
• 17:38
  more
• 17:38
  expensive.
• 17:40
  So
• 17:40
  until
• 17:40
  we
• 17:40
  decide
• 17:41
  to
• 17:41
  get
• 17:42
  more
• 17:42
  kids
• 17:42
  into
• 17:42
  trade
• 17:43
  programs,
• 17:43
  we're
• 17:44
  going
• 17:44
  to
• 17:44
  see
• 17:44
  this
• 17:44
  120
• 17:45
  to
• 17:46
  $150
• 17:46
  an
• 17:47
  hour
• 17:47
  price.
• 17:47
  When
• 17:48
  you
• 17:48
  call
• 17:48
  up
• 17:48
  that
• 17:48
  tradesperson,
• 17:49
  pretty
• 17:49
  easy,
• 17:50
  could
• 17:50
  be
• 17:51
  a
• 17:51
  little
• 17:51
  less
• 17:51
  in
• 17:51
  your
• 17:51
  community,
• 17:52
  could
• 17:52
  be
• 17:52
  a
• 17:52
  lot
• 17:53
  more,
• 17:53
  but
• 17:54
  that's
• 17:54
  how
• 17:54
  that
• 17:55
  changes
• 17:55
  things.
• 17:56
  So
• 17:56
  something
• 17:56
  to
• 17:57
  consider
• 17:58
  now,
• 17:58
  the
• 17:58
  next
• 17:58
  one
• 17:59
  here
• 18:00
  online
• 18:00
  saves
• 18:01
  you
• 18:01
  money
• 18:01
  on
• 18:01
  purchases.
• 18:03
  It
• 18:03
  might,
• 18:04
  it
• 18:04
  could
• 18:05
  really
• 18:05
  save
• 18:06
  you
• 18:06
  money.
• 18:07
  But
• 18:07
  here's
• 18:07
  where
• 18:08
  the
• 18:08
  buyer
• 18:08
  beware
• 18:09
  starts
• 18:09
  out
• 18:09
  with.
• 18:10
  Online
• 18:12
  can
• 18:12
  save
• 18:12
  you
• 18:12
  money,
• 18:13
  but
• 18:13
  you
• 18:13
  might
• 18:13
  not
• 18:13
  be
• 18:14
  getting
• 18:15
  what
• 18:15
  you
• 18:15
  think
• 18:15
  you're
• 18:15
  getting.
• 18:16
  Great
• 18:17
  example.
• 18:17
  If
• 18:18
  you
• 18:18
  walk
• 18:18
  into
• 18:19
  a
• 18:19
  home
• 18:19
  center
• 18:19
  many
• 18:20
  times
• 18:20
  in
• 18:20
  the
• 18:20
  plumbing
• 18:21
  aisle,
• 18:21
  you'll
• 18:22
  see
• 18:22
  a
• 18:22
  name
• 18:22
  brand
• 18:23
  there
• 18:23
  and
• 18:23
  it'll
• 18:24
  be
• 18:24
  in
• 18:24
  this
• 18:24
  flashy,
• 18:25
  pretty
• 18:25
  box
• 18:26
  with
• 18:27
  high
• 18:27
  gloss
• 18:27
  on
• 18:28
  it
• 18:28
  with
• 18:28
  pictures
• 18:29
  and
• 18:29
  everything
• 18:30
  else.
• 18:30
  Now
• 18:31
  if
• 18:31
  you
• 18:31
  walk
• 18:31
  over
• 18:31
  to
• 18:32
  your
• 18:32
  local
• 18:32
  plumbing
• 18:33
  store
• 18:33
  retailer,
• 18:34
  that
• 18:34
  made
• 18:35
  in
• 18:35
  America
• 18:35
  type
• 18:36
  brand
• 18:36
  that
• 18:36
  you
• 18:36
  saw
• 18:36
  there
• 18:37
  when
• 18:38
  you
• 18:38
  walk
• 18:38
  in
• 18:38
  there
• 18:38
  could
• 18:38
  be
• 18:39
  in
• 18:39
  a
• 18:39
  brown
• 18:39
  box
• 18:40
  with
• 18:40
  even
• 18:41
  sometimes
• 18:41
  the
• 18:41
  same
• 18:42
  model
• 18:42
  number.
• 18:43
  But
• 18:43
  if
• 18:43
  you
• 18:43
  were
• 18:44
  to
• 18:44
  tear
• 18:44
  that
• 18:44
  one
• 18:44
  in
• 18:44
  the
• 18:44
  plumbing
• 18:45
  store
• 18:46
  apart
• 18:47
  and
• 18:47
  compare
• 18:47
  that
• 18:47
  faucet
• 18:48
  to
• 18:48
  maybe
• 18:48
  the
• 18:48
  one
• 18:49
  that's
• 18:49
  over
• 18:49
  at
• 18:49
  the
• 18:49
  home
• 18:50
  center,
• 18:50
  you're
• 18:51
  going
• 18:51
  to
• 18:51
  see
• 18:51
  the
• 18:51
  home
• 18:51
  center
• 18:52
  one
• 18:52
  sometimes
• 18:52
  have
• 18:53
  all
• 18:53
  these
• 18:53
  plastic
• 18:54
  parts
• 18:55
  and
• 18:55
  the
• 18:55
  one,
• 18:56
  and
• 18:56
  that
• 18:56
  one's
• 18:57
  made
• 18:57
  in
• 18:57
  China
• 18:58
  and
• 18:58
  the
• 18:58
  other
• 18:58
  one,
• 18:59
  same
• 18:59
  model
• 19:00
  number,
• 19:01
  but
• 19:01
  different
• 19:02
  retail
• 19:03
  place.
• 19:04
  That
• 19:04
  one
• 19:04
  could
• 19:04
  be
• 19:05
  all
• 19:05
  brass
• 19:05
  and
• 19:06
  heavy
• 19:06
  duty
• 19:07
  and
• 19:07
  be
• 19:07
  more
• 19:07
  expensive.
• 19:08
  Home
• 19:09
  centers
• 19:09
  are
• 19:09
  great
• 19:10
  at
• 19:10
  pushing
• 19:11
  the
• 19:11
  numbers
• 19:11
  down
• 19:12
  for
• 19:13
  products,
• 19:14
  especially
• 19:14
  with
• 19:15
  name
• 19:15
  brands.
• 19:16
  So
• 19:16
  the
• 19:16
  thing
• 19:17
  to
• 19:17
  consider
• 19:17
  with
• 19:18
  all
• 19:18
  of
• 19:18
  this
• 19:19
  is
• 19:19
  that
• 19:19
  yes,
• 19:20
  going
• 19:20
  into
• 19:20
  a
• 19:20
  home
• 19:20
  center
• 19:21
  or
• 19:21
  going
• 19:21
  online
• 19:22
  could
• 19:22
  get
• 19:23
  you
• 19:23
  the
• 19:23
  cheaper
• 19:24
  piece,
• 19:24
  but
• 19:24
  it
• 19:24
  could
• 19:25
  get
• 19:25
  you
• 19:25
  a
• 19:26
  lower
• 19:26
  quality
• 19:26
  product,
• 19:28
  even
• 19:28
  for
• 19:28
  name
• 19:28
  brand
• 19:28
  stuff.
• 19:29
  Now
• 19:29
  here's
• 19:30
  the
• 19:30
  bad
• 19:30
  thing.
• 19:31
  Now
• 19:31
  the
• 19:32
  government's
• 19:32
  been
• 19:32
  doing
• 19:32
  a
• 19:33
  decent
• 19:33
  job
• 19:34
  of
• 19:34
  trying
• 19:34
  to
• 19:34
  track
• 19:34
  this
• 19:35
  down.
• 19:36
  But
• 19:36
  I
• 19:36
  could
• 19:37
  walk
• 19:37
  in
• 19:38
  and
• 19:38
  this
• 19:38
  is
• 19:38
  how
• 19:38
  crazy
• 19:39
  it
• 19:39
  is.
• 19:39
  I
• 19:39
  could
• 19:40
  walk
• 19:40
  into
• 19:41
  my
• 19:41
  local
• 19:41
  plumbing
• 19:42
  retailer.
• 19:43
  Let's
• 19:43
  say
• 19:43
  it's
• 19:43
  Chown
• 19:44
  Hardware
• 19:44
  here
• 19:45
  in
• 19:45
  Portland,
• 19:45
  Oregon.
• 19:45
  They've
• 19:46
  been
• 19:46
  around
• 19:46
  for
• 19:46
  144
• 19:47
  years
• 19:48
  or
• 19:48
  so.
• 19:48
  I
• 19:49
  walk
• 19:49
  in
• 19:49
  there
• 19:49
  and
• 19:49
  I
• 19:49
  order
• 19:50
  a
• 19:50
  specialty
• 19:50
  faucet
• 19:51
  I
• 19:52
  get
• 19:52
  that
• 19:52
  shows
• 19:53
  up,
• 19:53
  I
• 19:53
  pick
• 19:53
  it
• 19:53
  up,
• 19:53
  I
• 19:54
  take
• 19:54
  it
• 19:54
  home.
• 19:55
  If
• 19:55
  I
• 19:55
  ship
• 19:55
  that
• 19:56
  over
• 19:56
  to
• 19:56
  many
• 19:56
  places
• 19:57
  over
• 19:57
  in
• 19:57
  China,
• 19:58
  I
• 19:58
  can
• 19:59
  get
• 19:59
  knockoffs
• 20:00
  made.
• 20:01
  I
• 20:01
  could
• 20:01
  get
• 20:01
  pallets
• 20:02
  of
• 20:02
  that
• 20:02
  stuff
• 20:03
  and
• 20:04
  it
• 20:04
  shows
• 20:04
  up
• 20:04
  for
• 20:05
  pennies
• 20:05
  on
• 20:05
  the
• 20:05
  dollar.
• 20:06
  And
• 20:06
  then
• 20:07
  I
• 20:07
  throw
• 20:07
  it
• 20:07
  up
• 20:07
  on
• 20:07
  ebay.
• 20:08
  I
• 20:08
  throw
• 20:08
  it
• 20:08
  up
• 20:08
  online
• 20:09
  and
• 20:10
  you've
• 20:10
  got
• 20:10
  something
• 20:11
  that's
• 20:11
  packaged
• 20:12
  the
• 20:12
  same.
• 20:13
  It
• 20:13
  looks
• 20:13
  very
• 20:14
  similar.
• 20:15
  But
• 20:15
  here's
• 20:15
  the
• 20:16
  issue.
• 20:16
  The
• 20:17
  problem
• 20:17
  that
• 20:17
  I
• 20:17
  see,
• 20:18
  and
• 20:19
  this
• 20:19
  is
• 20:19
  the
• 20:19
  big
• 20:19
  one,
• 20:20
  is
• 20:21
  that
• 20:21
  the
• 20:21
  knockoff
• 20:22
  ones
• 20:22
  out
• 20:22
  there,
• 20:22
  the
• 20:23
  replacement
• 20:23
  parts
• 20:24
  don't
• 20:24
  fit
• 20:24
  because
• 20:24
  they
• 20:25
  made
• 20:25
  their
• 20:25
  own
• 20:25
  thing
• 20:26
  of
• 20:26
  it.
• 20:27
  So
• 20:27
  it
• 20:28
  looks
• 20:28
  just
• 20:29
  like
• 20:29
  that
• 20:29
  Delta
• 20:30
  or
• 20:30
  Brizo
• 20:31
  piece
• 20:32
  looks
• 20:32
  the
• 20:32
  same,
• 20:33
  but
• 20:33
  the
• 20:33
  parts
• 20:33
  don't
• 20:34
  fit.
• 20:35
  So
• 20:35
  what
• 20:35
  that
• 20:35
  means
• 20:36
  is
• 20:36
  you're
• 20:36
  going
• 20:37
  to
• 20:37
  have
• 20:37
  an
• 20:37
  issue
• 20:37
  down
• 20:38
  the
• 20:38
  road.
• 20:39
  So
• 20:39
  what
• 20:39
  I
• 20:39
  say
• 20:39
  is
• 20:40
  when
• 20:40
  you're
• 20:40
  working
• 20:40
  on
• 20:40
  stuff
• 20:41
  out
• 20:41
  there,
• 20:42
  know
• 20:42
  the
• 20:43
  source
• 20:43
  of
• 20:43
  where
• 20:43
  you're
• 20:43
  getting
• 20:44
  stuff
• 20:44
  through.
• 20:44
  If
• 20:44
  you're
• 20:44
  getting
• 20:44
  it
• 20:44
  through
• 20:44
  the
• 20:45
  home
• 20:45
  center,
• 20:45
  awesome.
• 20:46
  But
• 20:46
  I
• 20:46
  prefer
• 20:47
  to
• 20:47
  buy
• 20:47
  through
• 20:47
  my
• 20:48
  local
• 20:49
  plumbing
• 20:49
  store
• 20:50
  because
• 20:50
  I
• 20:50
  get
• 20:50
  the
• 20:51
  higher
• 20:51
  quality
• 20:51
  piece.
• 20:53
  And
• 20:53
  you
• 20:53
  might
• 20:53
  pay
• 20:54
  a
• 20:54
  little
• 20:54
  bit
• 20:54
  more
• 20:54
  for
• 20:54
  it,
• 20:54
  but
• 20:55
  you're
• 20:55
  getting
• 20:55
  the
• 20:55
  real
• 20:55
  one,
• 20:56
  the
• 20:56
  one
• 20:56
  they
• 20:56
  designed,
• 20:57
  not
• 20:57
  the
• 20:57
  cut
• 20:57
  down,
• 20:57
  cheaper
• 20:58
  one.
• 20:58
  So
• 20:59
  it's
• 20:59
  the
• 20:59
  one
• 20:59
  that
• 20:59
  they
• 20:59
  stand
• 21:00
  behind
• 21:00
  for
• 21:00
  the
• 21:00
  plumbers.
• 21:01
  And
• 21:02
  it's
• 21:02
  worth
• 21:02
  that
• 21:02
  extra
• 21:03
  20
• 21:03
  or
• 21:03
  30
• 21:03
  bucks
• 21:03
  or
• 21:04
  whatever
• 21:04
  it
• 21:04
  is
• 21:04
  to
• 21:04
  get
• 21:04
  something
• 21:05
  good.
• 21:06
  So
• 21:06
  you've
• 21:06
  got
• 21:06
  something
• 21:07
  that's
• 21:07
  going
• 21:07
  to
• 21:07
  hold
• 21:07
  up
• 21:08
  year
• 21:08
  after
• 21:09
  year.
• 21:10
  So
• 21:10
  sometimes
• 21:10
  spending
• 21:11
  a
• 21:11
  little
• 21:11
  bit
• 21:11
  more
• 21:11
  money
• 21:11
  to

• 21:13

• 21:13
  you
• 21:13
  from
• 21:13
  doing
• 21:14
  it
• 21:14

• 21:14
  And
• 21:15
  nobody
• 21:16
  wants
• 21:16

• 21:16
  do
• 21:16
  that.

• 21:18
  do
• 21:18
  that

• 21:26
  Not

  we're

  Just

• 25:36

  you

  can

  an

  even

  the

• 25:58

  is

• 26:19
  And

  I

  It's
• 26:25
  just
• 26:26
  like
• 26:26
  finding
• 26:26
  duck
• 26:26
  cleaning
• 26:27
  on
• 26:27
  Facebook.
• 26:28
  I
• 26:28
  tell
• 26:28
  you
• 26:28
  what,
• 26:29
  those
• 26:29
  will
• 26:30
  just
• 26:30
  be
• 26:30
  all
• 26:31
  over
• 26:31
  the
• 26:31
  page.
• 26:31
  And
• 26:31
  what's
• 26:31
  funny
• 26:32
  is
• 26:32
  when
• 26:32
  I
• 26:32
  travel
• 26:32
  around,
• 26:33
  I
• 26:33
  can
• 26:33
  see
• 26:33
  the
• 26:33
  same
• 26:33
  people
• 26:34
  posting
• 26:34
  up
• 26:34
  as
• 26:35
  scams
• 26:35
  with
• 26:35
  the
• 26:36
  same
• 26:36
  pictures.
• 26:37
  It's
• 26:37
  funny
• 26:37
  if
• 26:38
  you
• 26:38
  look
• 26:38
  there.
• 26:38
  Here's
• 26:38
  a
• 26:39
  little
• 26:39
  tip.
• 26:39
  When
• 26:39
  you're
• 26:39
  searching
• 26:40
  for
• 26:40
  that.
• 26:40
  If
• 26:40
  somebody
• 26:41
  comes
• 26:41
  up,
• 26:41
  look
• 26:41
  at
• 26:41
  the
• 26:41
  pictures
• 26:42
  so
• 26:43
  many
• 26:43
  times.
• 26:43
  If
• 26:43
  I'm
• 26:44
  in
• 26:44
  the
• 26:44
  Pacific
• 26:44
  Northwest,
• 26:46
  I'm
• 26:46
  seeing
• 26:46
  houses
• 26:47
  with
• 26:47
  palm
• 26:47
  trees
• 26:47
  that
• 26:47
  look
• 26:48
  like
• 26:48
  they're
• 26:48
  in
• 26:48
  the,
• 26:48
  well,
• 26:49
  south
• 26:49
  Florida
• 26:50
  coast.
• 26:51
  Nothing
• 26:51
  like
• 26:51
  what
• 26:52
  you
• 26:52
  see
• 26:52
  here.
• 26:52
  So
• 26:53
  take
• 26:53
  a
• 26:53
  look
• 26:53
  at
• 26:53
  those
• 26:53
  pictures.
• 26:54
  Sometimes
• 26:54
  those
• 26:55
  will
• 26:55
  tell
• 26:55
  you
• 26:55
  before
• 26:55
  you
• 26:56
  even
• 26:56
  talk
• 26:56
  to
• 26:56
  anybody
• 26:57
  what
• 26:57
  kind
• 26:57
  of
• 26:58
  a
• 26:58
  hot
• 26:58
  mess
• 26:58
  you
• 26:59
  might
• 26:59
  be
• 26:59
  dealing
• 26:59
  with.
• 27:00
  The
• 27:00
  next
• 27:01
  one
• 27:01
  here
• 27:01
  is
• 27:01
  social
• 27:02
  media
• 27:03
  and
• 27:03
  I
• 27:03
  have
• 27:04
  all
• 27:04
  the
• 27:04
  answers
• 27:05
  for
• 27:05
  your
• 27:06
  home
• 27:06
  improvement
• 27:07
  projects.
• 27:08
  Now
• 27:08
  here's
• 27:09
  the
• 27:09
  thing,
• 27:10
  we're
• 27:10
  going
• 27:10
  to
• 27:10
  get
• 27:10
  really
• 27:11
  honest
• 27:11
  with
• 27:11
  here
• 27:11
  and
• 27:12
  we're
• 27:12
  getting
• 27:12
  the
• 27:12
  nitty
• 27:12
  gritty
• 27:13
  on
• 27:13
  this.
• 27:14
  There
• 27:14
  are
• 27:14
  some
• 27:15
  home
• 27:15
  improvement
• 27:16
  social
• 27:16
  media
• 27:17
  people
• 27:17
  out
• 27:17
  there.
• 27:18
  One
• 27:18
  of
• 27:18
  them
• 27:19
  is
• 27:19
  based
• 27:19
  in
• 27:19
  Canada.
• 27:20
  These
• 27:20
  guys
• 27:22
  put
• 27:22
  up
• 27:22
  wrong
• 27:23
  information
• 27:24
  and
• 27:24
  they
• 27:25
  make
• 27:25
  money
• 27:25
  off
• 27:26
  of
• 27:26
  your
• 27:26
  clicks
• 27:27
  and
• 27:27
  views.
• 27:28
  Now
• 27:29
  you
• 27:29
  can
• 27:29
  find
• 27:29
  these
• 27:30
  because
• 27:30
  here's
• 27:30
  what
• 27:31
  you
• 27:31
  do.
• 27:32
  Read
• 27:32
  through
• 27:33
  the
• 27:33
  page,
• 27:34
  read
• 27:34
  through
• 27:35
  the
• 27:35
  post.
• 27:36
  You
• 27:36
  will
• 27:36
  see
• 27:37
  70,
• 27:39
  80,
• 27:40
  90%
• 27:42
  of
• 27:42
  people
• 27:42
  going,
• 27:43
  what
• 27:43
  are
• 27:43
  you
• 27:43
  talking
• 27:44
  about?
• 27:44
  You
• 27:44
  were
• 27:45
  so
• 27:45
  not
• 27:45
  there.
• 27:45
  You're
• 27:46
  so
• 27:46
  not
• 27:46
  right.
• 27:47
  That
• 27:48
  feeds
• 27:48
  the
• 27:48
  algorithm
• 27:49
  and
• 27:49
  they're
• 27:50
  making
• 27:50
  money
• 27:50
  off
• 27:51
  giving
• 27:51
  you
• 27:51
  bad
• 27:52
  information.
• 27:53
  So
• 27:53
  what
• 27:53
  happens
• 27:53
  is
• 27:54
  you're
• 27:54
  watching
• 27:54
  somebody
• 27:55
  do
• 27:56
  a
• 27:56
  horrible
• 27:56
  job
• 27:57
  at
• 27:57
  waterproofing
• 27:58
  a
• 27:58
  basement,
• 27:59
  but
• 27:59
  then
• 27:59
  you
• 27:59
  don't
• 28:00
  know
• 28:00
  any
• 28:00
  better
• 28:00
  and
• 28:00
  you
• 28:00
  go,
• 28:01
  wow,
• 28:01
  this
• 28:01
  guy's
• 28:01
  got
• 28:02
  all
• 28:02
  these
• 28:02
  people
• 28:03
  following.
• 28:04
  I
• 28:04
  bet
• 28:04
  it's
• 28:05
  a
• 28:05
  good
• 28:05
  source
• 28:05
  and
• 28:06
  you
• 28:06
  do
• 28:06
  it
• 28:06
  that
• 28:06
  way
• 28:07
  and
• 28:07
  it's
• 28:07
  wrong.
• 28:08
  AI
• 28:09
  can
• 28:10
  be
• 28:10
  right.
• 28:11
  It
• 28:12
  also
• 28:12
  can
• 28:12
  make
• 28:12
  stuff
• 28:13
  up
• 28:13
  and
• 28:13
  be
• 28:13
  completely
• 28:14
  wrong.
• 28:15
  So
• 28:15
  that's
• 28:16
  the
• 28:16
  problem
• 28:16
  when
• 28:16
  you
• 28:16
  jump
• 28:17
  on
• 28:17
  YouTube
• 28:18
  and
• 28:18
  you
• 28:18
  jump
• 28:18
  on
• 28:19
  some
• 28:19
  of
• 28:19
  these
• 28:19
  pages
• 28:20
  out
• 28:20
  there,
• 28:21
  that
• 28:21
  information
• 28:22
  can
• 28:22
  be
• 28:22
  bad.
• 28:22
  And
• 28:23
  here's
• 28:23
  the
• 28:23
  bad
• 28:23
  part.
• 28:23
  With
• 28:24
  AI,
• 28:24
  it
• 28:24
  gets
• 28:24
  sources
• 28:26
  across
• 28:26
  the
• 28:26
  web
• 28:27
  if
• 28:27
  it's
• 28:28
  grabbing
• 28:28
  source
• 28:29
  as
• 28:29
  truth,
• 28:29
  because
• 28:30
  it's
• 28:30
  a,
• 28:31
  to
• 28:31
  them,
• 28:31
  a
• 28:32
  verified
• 28:32
  source.
• 28:33
  And
• 28:33
  it's
• 28:33
  one
• 28:33
  of
• 28:34
  these
• 28:34
  click
• 28:34
  bait
• 28:36
  YouTubers
• 28:36
  or
• 28:36
  Instagrammers,
• 28:38
  they
• 28:38
  take
• 28:38
  that
• 28:39
  as,
• 28:40
  wow.
• 28:40
  This
• 28:40
  person
• 28:41
  said,
• 28:41
  here's
• 28:41
  the
• 28:41
  right
• 28:42
  answer.
• 28:43
  So
• 28:43
  you've
• 28:43
  got
• 28:44
  all
• 28:44
  of
• 28:44
  these
• 28:44
  social
• 28:45
  media
• 28:45
  people
• 28:46
  that
• 28:47
  are
• 28:47
  trying
• 28:47
  to
• 28:47
  get
• 28:47
  clicks,
• 28:48
  they're
• 28:48
  trying
• 28:48
  to
• 28:48
  make
• 28:48
  money,
• 28:48
  they're
• 28:49
  trying
• 28:49
  to
• 28:49
  get
• 28:49
  views
• 28:50
  and
• 28:50
  you
• 28:50
  have
• 28:51
  AI
• 28:52
  grabbing
• 28:52
  that
• 28:52
  as
• 28:53
  a
• 28:53
  trusted
• 28:53
  source
• 28:54
  and
• 28:54
  then
• 28:54
  you
• 28:55
  get
• 28:55
  the
• 28:55
  information.
• 28:56
  So
• 28:57
  we're
• 28:57
  gonna
• 28:57
  do
• 28:57
  some
• 28:57
  more
• 28:57
  stories
• 28:58
  on
• 28:58
  this.
• 28:58
  I
• 28:58
  think
• 28:58
  maybe
• 28:59
  one
• 28:59
  time
• 28:59
  we'll
• 28:59
  start
• 29:00
  asking
• 29:00
  questions
• 29:01
  and
• 29:01
  see
• 29:02
  how
• 29:02
  good
• 29:02
  AI
• 29:03
  gives
• 29:03
  the
• 29:03
  answers
• 29:03
  to
• 29:04
  that.
• 29:04
  Could
• 29:04
  be
• 29:04
  a
• 29:04
  fun
• 29:04
  one.
• 29:05
  Maybe
• 29:05
  we'll
• 29:05
  do
• 29:05
  that
• 29:05
  in
• 29:05
  an
• 29:05
  upcoming
• 29:06
  episode.
• 29:07
  But
• 29:07
  be
• 29:08
  very
• 29:08
  careful.
• 29:09
  Social
• 29:09
  media
• 29:10
  can
• 29:11
  be
• 29:11
  helpful,
• 29:12
  but
• 29:13
  it
• 29:13
  can
• 29:13
  also
• 29:13
  lead
• 29:13
  you
• 29:14
  down
• 29:14
  a
• 29:14
  very
• 29:14
  expensive
• 29:15
  and
• 29:16
  wrong
• 29:16
  path.
• 29:17
  So
• 29:17
  be
• 29:17
  careful.
• 29:18
  The
• 29:18
  next
• 29:19
  one
• 29:19
  here,
• 29:20
  number
• 29:20
  seven.
• 29:21
  This
• 29:22
  is
• 29:22
  a
• 29:22
  big
• 29:22
  one.
• 29:23
  Big
• 29:23
  box
• 29:23
  stores
• 29:24
  save
• 29:24
  you
• 29:24
  money,
• 29:25
  usually
• 29:26
  with
• 29:26
  home
• 29:27
  improvement
• 29:27
  projects.
• 29:28
  Maybe
• 29:28
  you
• 29:29
  get,
• 29:29
  you
• 29:29
  see
• 29:29
  the
• 29:29
  H
• 29:29
  Vac
• 29:30
  person
• 29:30
  when
• 29:30
  you
• 29:30
  walk
• 29:31
  into
• 29:31
  your
• 29:31
  Home
• 29:31
  Depot
• 29:31
  or
• 29:32
  Lowe's
• 29:32
  store.
• 29:33
  They're
• 29:33
  at
• 29:33
  the
• 29:33
  end
• 29:33
  cap.
• 29:34
  Maybe
• 29:34
  it's
• 29:34
  a
• 29:35
  carpeting
• 29:35
  installer,
• 29:36
  maybe
• 29:36
  it's
• 29:37
  the
• 29:37
  gutter
• 29:37
  people,
• 29:38
  maybe
• 29:38
  you're
• 29:38
  in
• 29:38
  Costco
• 29:39
  and
• 29:39
  You
• 29:39
  see
• 29:39
  this
• 29:40
  here's
• 29:40
  the
• 29:41
  issue
• 29:41
  you
• 29:41
  have.
• 29:42
  Anytime
• 29:43
  you
• 29:43
  put
• 29:43
  a
• 29:43
  middle
• 29:44
  person
• 29:44
  in
• 29:44
  a
• 29:44
  middleman
• 29:45
  in
• 29:45
  the
• 29:45
  middle
• 29:45
  of
• 29:45
  this,
• 29:46
  things
• 29:46
  are
• 29:47
  usually
• 29:47
  more
• 29:47
  expensive
• 29:48
  because
• 29:49
  that
• 29:49
  retailer
• 29:50
  is
• 29:50
  going
• 29:50
  to
• 29:50
  take
• 29:50
  what
• 29:51
  the
• 29:51
  contractor's
• 29:51
  charging
• 29:52
  and
• 29:53
  mark
• 29:53
  it
• 29:53
  up
• 29:53
  30,
• 29:54
  40,
• 29:54
  50%
• 29:55
  to
• 29:55
  cover
• 29:55
  their
• 29:56
  losses.
• 29:57
  Now
• 29:57
  when
• 29:57
  it
• 29:57
  comes
• 29:57
  down
• 29:58
  to
• 29:58
  the
• 29:58

• 29:59

  they're

  gonna
• 30:01
  mark
• 30:01
  that
• 30:02
  up.
• 30:02
  But
• 30:03
  the
• 30:03
  problem
• 30:03
  is
• 30:03
  there's
• 30:03
  not
• 30:04
  a
• 30:04
  discount
• 30:05
  of
• 30:05
  30
• 30:05
  or
• 30:06
  40%
• 30:06
  that
• 30:06
  you're
• 30:07
  getting
• 30:07
  from
• 30:08
  that
• 30:08
  person.
• 30:09
  So
• 30:09
  really
• 30:10
  the
• 30:10
  only
• 30:10
  place
• 30:11
  that
• 30:11
  really
• 30:11
  making
• 30:11
  sense
• 30:12
  at
• 30:12
  the
• 30:12
  big
• 30:12
  box
• 30:13
  stores
• 30:13
  of
• 30:13
  buying
• 30:13
  direct
• 30:14
  with
• 30:14
  them
• 30:15
  is
• 30:15
  that
• 30:15
  if
• 30:15
  you're
• 30:16
  gonna
• 30:16
  put
• 30:16
  it
• 30:16
  on
• 30:16
  one
• 30:16
  of
• 30:16
  their
• 30:16
  cards
• 30:17
  and
• 30:17
  get
• 30:17
  the
• 30:17
  financing,
• 30:18
  other
• 30:19
  than
• 30:19
  that,
• 30:19
  you're
• 30:19
  probably
• 30:20
  gonna
• 30:20
  get
• 30:20
  a
• 30:20
  better
• 30:20
  price
• 30:21
  from
• 30:21
  somebody
• 30:21
  else.
• 30:22
  So
• 30:23
  be
• 30:23
  careful
• 30:23
  with
• 30:24
  those
• 30:24
  big
• 30:24
  box
• 30:24
  stores
• 30:25
  with
• 30:26
  that
• 30:26
  extra
• 30:26
  markup
• 30:27
  and
• 30:27
  that
• 30:27
  extra
• 30:28
  middleman,
• 30:29
  you
• 30:29
  could
• 30:29
  have
• 30:30
  a
• 30:30
  project
• 30:30
  that
• 30:30
  takes
• 30:30
  longer
• 30:31
  because
• 30:32
  now
• 30:32
  you've
• 30:32
  got
• 30:32
  a
• 30:32
  salesperson
• 30:33
  working
• 30:33
  with
• 30:34
  them.
• 30:34
  Many
• 30:34
  times
• 30:35
  those
• 30:35
  big
• 30:35
  box
• 30:35
  stores
• 30:36
  are
• 30:36
  either
• 30:36
  a
• 30:36
  national
• 30:37
  company
• 30:37
  or
• 30:38
  if
• 30:38
  they're
• 30:38
  local,
• 30:38
  they're
• 30:38
  new
• 30:39
  contractor.
• 30:39
  Because
• 30:39
  if
• 30:40
  they
• 30:40
  don't
• 30:40
  already
• 30:40
  have
• 30:40
  that
• 30:40
  book
• 30:41
  of
• 30:41
  business,
• 30:41
  it's
• 30:41
  an
• 30:41
  easy
• 30:42
  way
• 30:42
  to
• 30:42
  keep
• 30:42
  busy
• 30:42
  and
• 30:43
  to
• 30:43
  keep
• 30:43
  their
• 30:43
  people
• 30:43
  paid.
• 30:44
  Now
• 30:45
  usually
• 30:46
  when
• 30:46
  those
• 30:46
  guys
• 30:46
  get
• 30:46
  good,
• 30:47
  they
• 30:47
  leave
• 30:47
  because
• 30:47
  they
• 30:48
  can
• 30:48
  make
• 30:48
  more
• 30:48
  money
• 30:48
  on
• 30:48
  their
• 30:49
  own
• 30:49
  and
• 30:49
  don't
• 30:50
  have
• 30:50
  the
• 30:50
  big
• 30:51
  box
• 30:51
  store
• 30:51
  headaches
• 30:52
  that
• 30:52
  go
• 30:52
  with
• 30:52
  it.
• 30:53
  So
• 30:53
  take
• 30:54
  some
• 30:54
  time
• 30:55
  and
• 30:55
  compare
• 30:56
  those
• 30:56
  numbers.
• 30:56
  You
• 30:57
  might
• 30:57
  be
• 30:57
  surprised
• 30:58
  at
• 30:58
  how
• 30:58
  much
• 30:58
  you
• 30:59
  can
• 30:59
  save
• 30:59
  dealing
• 30:59
  with
• 31:00
  your
• 31:00
  local
• 31:01
  person.
• 31:01
  Whether
• 31:02
  it's
• 31:02
  a
• 31:02
  plumber,
• 31:03
  a
• 31:03
  roofer,
• 31:04
  an
• 31:04
  H
• 31:04
  vac,
• 31:05
  whatever.
• 31:06
  Take
• 31:07
  a
• 31:07
  look
• 31:07
  at
• 31:07
  that.
• 31:08
  You'll
• 31:08
  probably
• 31:08
  save
• 31:09
  some
• 31:09
  money
• 31:09
  there.
• 31:09
  It's
• 31:10
  amazing.
• 31:10
  We
• 31:11
  assume
• 31:11
  that
• 31:12
  those
• 31:12
  numbers
• 31:13
  are
• 31:13
  saving
• 31:13
  you
• 31:14
  money.
• 31:14
  Great
• 31:14
  example.
• 31:15
  I
• 31:15
  was
• 31:15
  in
• 31:15
  Costco
• 31:16
  yesterday,
• 31:16
  walking
• 31:17
  through,
• 31:17
  doing
• 31:17
  some
• 31:18
  stuff,
• 31:18
  grabbing
• 31:18
  some
• 31:18
  stuff
• 31:19
  and
• 31:19
  I
• 31:19
  looked
• 31:19
  at
• 31:19
  these
• 31:19
  totes.
• 31:20
  People
• 31:20
  are
• 31:21
  loading
• 31:21
  them
• 31:21
  up
• 31:21
  because
• 31:21
  they
• 31:21
  think
• 31:21
  they're
• 31:22
  a
• 31:22
  better
• 31:22
  deal.
• 31:23
  I
• 31:23
  can
• 31:23
  get
• 31:23
  them
• 31:24
  2
• 31:24
  bucks
• 31:24
  cheaper
• 31:24
  off
• 31:25
  Home
• 31:25
  Depot
• 31:26
  than
• 31:26
  what
• 31:26
  they
• 31:26
  are.
• 31:27
  Same
• 31:27
  brand
• 31:27
  totes,
• 31:28
  $2
• 31:29
  less
• 31:29
  money,
• 31:30
  but
• 31:30
  people
• 31:31
  are
• 31:31
  buying
• 31:31
  them
• 31:31
  at
• 31:31
  Costco.
• 31:32
  That
• 31:32
  was
• 31:32
  going
• 31:32
  to
• 31:32
  be
• 31:32
  a
• 31:32
  great
• 31:32
  savings
• 31:33
  if
• 31:34
  they
• 31:34
  hadn't
• 31:34
  been
• 31:34
  to
• 31:34
  Home
• 31:34
  Depot
• 31:35
  and
• 31:35
  saw
• 31:35
  the
• 31:35
  price
• 31:35
  that
• 31:35
  it's
• 31:36
  their
• 31:36
  regular
• 31:36
  everyday
• 31:37
  price.
• 31:38
  Guess
• 31:38
  what?
• 31:39
  They're
• 31:39
  moving
• 31:39
  a
• 31:39
  lot
• 31:40
  of
• 31:40
  totes
• 31:40
  out
• 31:40
  of
• 31:40
  that
• 31:40
  big
• 31:41
  box
• 31:41
  store.
• 31:41
  But
• 31:42
  Costco
• 31:42
  there
• 31:43
  was
• 31:43
  not
• 31:43
  the
• 31:43
  savings
• 31:44
  you
• 31:44
  thought
• 31:45
  you
• 31:45
  were
• 31:45
  paying.15%
• 31:46
  more
• 31:46
  cost
• 31:47
  at
• 31:47
  that
• 31:47
  place.
• 31:48
  So
• 31:49
  be
• 31:49
  careful,
• 31:49
  do
• 31:50
  your
• 31:50
  research,
• 31:51
  compare
• 31:51
  those
• 31:52
  prices.
• 31:53
  But
• 31:53
  many
• 31:53
  times
• 31:54
  that
• 31:54
  big
• 31:54
  box
• 31:54
  store
• 31:55
  is
• 31:55
  not
• 31:55
  going
• 31:55
  to
• 31:55
  save
• 31:56
  you
• 31:56
  money.
• 31:56
  Now
• 31:57
  here's
• 31:57
  another
• 31:57
  little
• 31:57
  side
• 31:58
  note
• 31:58
  too
• 31:58
  on
• 31:58
  this.
• 31:59
  A
• 31:59
  lot
• 31:59
  of
• 31:59
  people,
• 31:59
  it's
• 32:00
  a
• 32:00
  myth
• 32:00
  as
• 32:00
  well,
• 32:01
  with
• 32:01
  the
• 32:01
  big
• 32:01
  box
• 32:01
  stores,
• 32:02
  oh,
• 32:02
  the
• 32:03
  lumber
• 32:03
  in
• 32:03
  the
• 32:03
  home
• 32:04
  centers
• 32:04
  is
• 32:04
  not
• 32:04
  as
• 32:05
  good
• 32:05
  is
• 32:06
  what
• 32:06
  in
• 32:06
  the
• 32:06
  local
• 32:06
  lumber
• 32:07
  yards.
• 32:08
  Now
• 32:09
  it's
• 32:09
  not
• 32:09
  because
• 32:09
  of
• 32:10
  the
• 32:10
  bad
• 32:10
  lumber
• 32:10
  grade.
• 32:11
  Many
• 32:11
  times
• 32:11
  maybe
• 32:12
  that
• 32:12
  same
• 32:12
  lumber
• 32:13
  is
• 32:13
  showing
• 32:13
  up
• 32:13
  at
• 32:14
  the
• 32:14
  lumber
• 32:14
  yard.
• 32:15
  But
• 32:15
  here's
• 32:16
  the
• 32:16
  problem.
• 32:17
  Anytime
• 32:17
  that
• 32:18
  you
• 32:18
  take
• 32:19
  wet
• 32:19
  lumber
• 32:20
  and
• 32:20
  you
• 32:20
  put
• 32:20
  it
• 32:21
  inside
• 32:21
  of
• 32:22
  a
• 32:22
  building
• 32:23
  that
• 32:23
  is
• 32:23
  air
• 32:23
  conditioned,
• 32:24
  that's
• 32:24
  going
• 32:24
  to
• 32:24
  dry
• 32:24
  out
• 32:25
  and
• 32:25
  you
• 32:25
  have
• 32:25
  people
• 32:26
  high
• 32:26
  grading
• 32:27
  every
• 32:27
  stick
• 32:27
  through
• 32:27
  there.
• 32:28
  By
• 32:28
  the
• 32:29
  time
• 32:29
  you
• 32:29
  show
• 32:29
  up
• 32:30
  and
• 32:30
  you
• 32:30
  look
• 32:30
  at
• 32:31
  that
• 32:31
  half
• 32:31
  looked
• 32:31
  at
• 32:32
  lumber
• 32:32
  bunk
• 32:32
  that
• 32:32
  no
• 32:33
  one
• 32:33
  has
• 32:33
  gone
• 32:33
  through
• 32:33
  and
• 32:34
  culled
• 32:34
  out,
• 32:35
  yeah,
• 32:35
  it
• 32:35
  looks
• 32:36
  horrible.
• 32:36
  You
• 32:36
  got
• 32:36
  a
• 32:37
  lot
• 32:37
  of
• 32:37
  junk
• 32:37
  in
• 32:37
  there.
• 32:38
  The
• 32:39
  lumberyard
• 32:39
  tends
• 32:39
  to
• 32:40
  throw
• 32:40
  what's
• 32:40
  on
• 32:40
  the
• 32:41
  pile
• 32:42
  on
• 32:42
  the
• 32:42
  truck
• 32:42
  and
• 32:42
  out
• 32:42
  it
• 32:43
  goes.
• 32:43
  So
• 32:43
  nobody's
• 32:44
  picking
• 32:44
  through
• 32:44
  it.
• 32:45
  Many
• 32:45
  times
• 32:45
  it's
• 32:46
  outside
• 32:47
  so
• 32:47
  it's
• 32:47
  a
• 32:47
  little
• 32:47
  more
• 32:48
  acclimated
• 32:48
  to
• 32:48
  what's
• 32:49
  going
• 32:49
  on.
• 32:49
  So
• 32:50
  there's
• 32:50
  the
• 32:50
  problem.
• 32:51
  Many
• 32:51
  times
• 32:52
  it's
• 32:52
  the
• 32:52
  hand
• 32:53
  picking
• 32:54
  and
• 32:54
  the
• 32:54
  lumber
• 32:55
  drying
• 32:55
  out
• 32:55
  prematurely,
• 32:56
  especially
• 32:56
  in
• 32:56
  the
• 32:56
  summertime
• 32:57
  in
• 32:57
  an
• 32:57
  air
• 32:57
  conditioned
• 32:58
  space
• 32:58
  inside
• 32:59
  a
• 32:59
  big
• 32:59
  box
• 32:59
  retailer.
• 33:01
  So
• 33:01
  it
• 33:01
  could
• 33:01
  be
• 33:01
  a
• 33:01
  good
• 33:02
  grade
• 33:02
  of
• 33:02
  lumber,
• 33:03
  but
• 33:03
  it's
• 33:03
  just
• 33:04
  been
• 33:04
  picked
• 33:04
  through.
• 33:05
  If
• 33:05
  you
• 33:06
  go
• 33:06
  to
• 33:06
  bunk
• 33:06
  to
• 33:06
  bunk
• 33:07
  and
• 33:07
  open
• 33:08
  them
• 33:08
  up,
• 33:08
  many
• 33:08
  times
• 33:09
  it's
• 33:09
  the
• 33:09
  same
• 33:10
  lumber
• 33:10
  grade.
• 33:11
  It
• 33:11
  just
• 33:11
  hasn't
• 33:12
  been
• 33:12
  picked
• 33:12
  through
• 33:12
  like
• 33:13
  your
• 33:13
  local
• 33:13
  big
• 33:14
  box
• 33:14
  store.
• 33:15
  Now
• 33:15
  when

• 36:32
  We
• 36:32
  don't
• 36:32
  see
• 36:32
  the
• 36:33
  big
• 36:33

• 36:33
  name
• 36:34

• 36:34

  there,
• 36:35
  and
• 36:35
  that's
• 36:35
  just
• 36:35
  because
• 36:36
  of
• 36:36
  the
• 36:36
  size
• 36:36
  of
• 36:37
  those
• 36:37
  big
• 36:37

• 36:37
  They've
• 36:38
  got
• 36:38
  it
• 36:38
  dialed
• 36:38
  in,
• 36:39
  it's
• 36:39
  consistent.
• 36:40
  They've

• 36:40
  the
• 36:40
  money
• 36:41
  on
• 36:41
  the
• 36:41
  gear
• 36:42
  and
• 36:42
  they've
• 36:43
  spent
• 36:43
  the
• 36:43
  million
• 36:44
  dollars
• 36:44
  on
• 36:44
  the

• 36:45
  and
• 36:45
  all
• 36:45
  that
• 36:46
  stuff.
• 36:46
  So
• 36:47
  really
• 36:47
  be
• 36:48
  very
• 36:48
  careful.
• 36:49
  Extra
• 36:49
  research
• 36:50
  on
• 36:50
  custom
• 36:51
  cabinetry
• 36:51
  because
• 36:52
  as
• 36:52
  we
• 36:52
  know,
• 36:53
  the
• 36:53
  word
• 36:54
  custom
• 36:55
  says
• 36:55
  nothing
• 36:56
  about
• 36:56
  the
• 36:56
  quality.
• 36:57
  If
• 36:58
  you
• 36:58
  want
• 36:58
  custom
• 36:58
  cabinetry
• 36:59
  that's
• 36:59
  made
• 36:59
  local,
• 37:00
  awesome.
• 37:00
  There's
• 37:01
  probably
• 37:01
  somebody
• 37:02
  that
• 37:02
  is
• 37:02
  absolutely
• 37:03
  amazing
• 37:04
  in
• 37:04
  your
• 37:05
  area.
• 37:05
  You
• 37:05
  just
• 37:06
  need
• 37:06
  to
• 37:06
  go
• 37:06
  find
• 37:06
  them.
• 37:07
  And
• 37:07
  it's
• 37:07
  going
• 37:07
  to
• 37:07
  be
• 37:08
  weeding
• 37:08
  through
• 37:08
  a
• 37:08
  bunch
• 37:09
  of
• 37:09
  custom
• 37:09
  cabinet
• 37:10
  shops
• 37:10
  to
• 37:11
  find
• 37:11
  it.
• 37:11
  Now,
• 37:12
  I
• 37:12
  don't
• 37:12
  want
• 37:12
  to
• 37:12
  find
• 37:12
  the
• 37:12
  one
• 37:13
  that's
• 37:13
  doing
• 37:13
  the
• 37:13
  big
• 37:14
  entry
• 37:14
  level
• 37:15
  builders
• 37:15
  out
• 37:15
  there
• 37:15
  that
• 37:16
  are
• 37:16
  kicking
• 37:16
  out
• 37:16
  cheap
• 37:17
  cabinetry.
• 37:17
  I
• 37:17
  want
• 37:18
  to
• 37:18
  find
• 37:18
  somebody
• 37:18
  that's
• 37:18
  going
• 37:19
  to
• 37:19
  put
• 37:19
  something
• 37:19
  that's
• 37:19
  going
• 37:19
  to
• 37:19
  fit
• 37:20
  your
• 37:20
  house
• 37:20
  correctly.
• 37:21
  So
• 37:22
  find
• 37:22
  out
• 37:22
  who
• 37:22
  does
• 37:22
  the
• 37:23
  medium
• 37:23
  and
• 37:23
  remodels
• 37:24
  in
• 37:24
  your
• 37:24
  area
• 37:24
  who
• 37:25
  uses
• 37:25
  custom
• 37:26
  like
• 37:26
  that.
• 37:26
  And
• 37:26
  then
• 37:27
  do
• 37:27
  all
• 37:27
  the
• 37:27
  research
• 37:27
  that
• 37:28
  we
• 37:28
  talked
• 37:28
  about
• 37:28
  last
• 37:29
  hour
• 37:29
  and
• 37:30
  you
• 37:30
  should
• 37:30
  be
• 37:30
  good
• 37:30
  to
• 37:31
  go.
• 37:32
  Now,
• 37:32
  the
• 37:32
  next
• 37:32
  one
• 37:32
  here,
• 37:34
  and
• 37:34
  this
• 37:34
  is
• 37:34
  one
• 37:34
  of
• 37:34
  my
• 37:35
  favorite
• 37:35
  and
• 37:35
  most
• 37:35
  controversial
• 37:36
  ones
• 37:37
  here
• 37:37
  on
• 37:37
  the
• 37:37
  list.
• 37:38
  That's
• 37:39
  why
• 37:39
  it's
• 37:39
  on
• 37:39
  number
• 37:39
  nine.
• 37:40
  They
• 37:40
  sure
• 37:41
  don't
• 37:41
  make
• 37:41
  things
• 37:41
  like
• 37:41
  they
• 37:42
  used
• 37:42
  to.
• 37:43
  Now
• 37:43
  here's
• 37:43
  the
• 37:43
  thing.
• 37:44
  I
• 37:44
  love
• 37:45
  old
• 37:45
  houses.
• 37:46
  I
• 37:46
  love
• 37:47
  them
• 37:48
  Craftsman,
• 37:48
  that
• 37:49
  green
• 37:49
  and
• 37:49
  green
• 37:50
  arts
• 37:50
  and
• 37:50
  crafts,
• 37:51
  the
• 37:51

• 37:53
  the
• 37:53
  mid
• 37:53
  century
• 37:53
  modern.
• 37:54
  Absolutely
• 37:55
  love
• 37:55
  it.
• 37:56
  Those
• 37:56
  classic
• 37:57
  colonials
• 37:57
  on
• 37:58
  the
• 37:58
  east
• 37:58
  coast.
• 37:59
  Beautiful.
• 38:00
  But
• 38:00
  here's
• 38:00
  the
• 38:01
  problem.
• 38:01
  Those
• 38:02
  houses
• 38:03
  had
• 38:03
  beautiful
• 38:04
  finishes
• 38:04
  on
• 38:04
  the
• 38:05
  inside,
• 38:05
  but
• 38:05
  many
• 38:05
  of
• 38:06
  those
• 38:06
  homes
• 38:06
  had
• 38:06
  Achilles
• 38:07
  heels
• 38:07
  to
• 38:07
  them.
• 38:08
  You'll
• 38:08
  see
• 38:08
  the
• 38:09
  tornado
• 38:09
  that
• 38:09
  went
• 38:10
  through

• 38:10
  and
• 38:11
  that

• 38:12

• 38:12
  is
• 38:12
  sitting
• 38:13
  there
• 38:13
  perfect
• 38:13
  in
• 38:14
  the
• 38:14
  middle
• 38:14
  of
• 38:14
  a
• 38:14
  street.
• 38:15
  Blew
• 38:15
  it
• 38:16
  off
• 38:16
  the
• 38:16
  foundation
• 38:16
  and
• 38:16
  set
• 38:17
  it
• 38:17
  right
• 38:17
  out
• 38:17
  in
• 38:17
  the
• 38:17
  middle
• 38:17
  of
• 38:17
  the
• 38:18

• 38:18
  And
• 38:19
  it
• 38:19
  looks
• 38:19
  like
• 38:19
  it
• 38:19
  didn't
• 38:20
  even
• 38:20
  get
• 38:20
  hurt,
• 38:20
  except
• 38:20
  it
• 38:21
  got
• 38:21
  lifted
• 38:21
  and
• 38:21
  placed
• 38:22
  over
• 38:22
  there.
• 38:23
  That's
• 38:23
  because
• 38:23
  in
• 38:23
  the
• 38:23
  1920s
• 38:25
  usually
• 38:25
  wasn't
• 38:26
  an
• 38:26
  engineer
• 38:26
  involved.
• 38:27
  They
• 38:27
  weren't
• 38:28
  tied
• 38:28
  down
• 38:28
  to
• 38:28
  the
• 38:29
  foundation.
• 38:29
  So
• 38:29
  there
• 38:29
  was
• 38:30
  no
• 38:31
  earthquake
• 38:31
  retrofitting
• 38:32
  where
• 38:32
  you
• 38:33
  put
• 38:33
  the
• 38:33
  Brackets
• 38:33
  in,
• 38:34
  they
• 38:34
  didn't
• 38:34
  have
• 38:34
  bolts
• 38:35
  coming
• 38:35
  up
• 38:35
  through
• 38:35
  the
• 38:35
  foundation.
• 38:36
  And
• 38:37
  older
• 38:38
  homes
• 38:38
  had
• 38:38
  balloon
• 38:38
  framing,
• 38:39
  which
• 38:39
  means
• 38:39
  the
• 38:40
  studs
• 38:40
  went
• 38:40
  all
• 38:41
  the
• 38:41
  way
• 38:41
  up
• 38:41
  through
• 38:41
  the
• 38:41
  second
• 38:42
  floor,
• 38:43
  which
• 38:43
  creates
• 38:44
  that.
• 38:44
  If
• 38:44
  you
• 38:44
  have
• 38:44
  a
• 38:45
  fire
• 38:46
  in
• 38:46
  a
• 38:46
  stud
• 38:46
  bay
• 38:47
  down
• 38:47
  below,
• 38:47
  that
• 38:48
  gives
• 38:48
  no
• 38:48
  fire
• 38:48
  blocking.
• 38:49
  So
• 38:49
  that
• 38:49
  goes
• 38:50
  all
• 38:50
  the
• 38:50
  way
• 38:50
  up
• 38:50
  to
• 38:50
  the
• 38:50
  roof
• 38:50
  and
• 38:51
  you
• 38:51
  lose
• 38:51
  a
• 38:51
  house.
• 38:52
  So
• 38:52
  yes,
• 38:53
  we
• 38:54
  lost
• 38:54
  a
• 38:54
  lot
• 38:54
  of
• 38:54
  old
• 38:55
  world
• 38:55
  craftsmanship,
• 38:56
  but
• 38:57
  you
• 38:57
  didn't
• 38:57
  have
• 38:57
  engineering
• 38:58
  tables
• 38:58
  and
• 38:58
  sheer
• 38:59
  tables
• 38:59
  and
• 38:59
  things
• 38:59
  like
• 39:00
  that.
• 39:00
  For
• 39:00
  in
• 39:01
  new
• 39:01
  buildings
• 39:01
  where
• 39:01
  an
• 39:02
  engineer
• 39:02
  stamped
• 39:02
  it
• 39:03
  many
• 39:03
  times
• 39:04
  that
• 39:05
  custom
• 39:05
  house
• 39:05
  was
• 39:06
  built
• 39:06
  by
• 39:07
  a
• 39:07
  guy
• 39:07
  looking
• 39:07
  at
• 39:07
  plans
• 39:09
  by
• 39:09
  an
• 39:09
  architect
• 39:10
  or
• 39:10
  building
• 39:11
  designer
• 39:11
  that
• 39:11
  knew
• 39:11
  what
• 39:11
  they
• 39:12
  were
• 39:12
  doing
• 39:12
  and
• 39:13
  they
• 39:13
  framed
• 39:13
  it
• 39:13
  and
• 39:14
  built
• 39:14
  it
• 39:14
  beautifully.
• 39:15
  So
• 39:15
  many
• 39:15
  times
• 39:15
  I
• 39:16
  get
• 39:16
  into
• 39:16
  a
• 39:16
  house
• 39:16
  and
• 39:16
  go,
• 39:17
  wow,
• 39:18
  I
• 39:18
  can
• 39:18
  tell
• 39:18
  they
• 39:18
  didn't
• 39:19
  have
• 39:19
  a
• 39:19
  level
• 39:19
  on
• 39:19
  this
• 39:19
  job
• 39:20
  site,
• 39:20
  they
• 39:20
  just
• 39:20
  built
• 39:21
  it,
• 39:21
  they
• 39:21
  eyeballed
• 39:22
  it.
• 39:22
  Now
• 39:23
  if
• 39:23
  you
• 39:24
  have
• 39:24
  a
• 39:24
  builder
• 39:24
  that
• 39:25
  cares,
• 39:25
  they
• 39:26
  can
• 39:26
  build
• 39:26
  a
• 39:26
  much
• 39:27
  stronger,
• 39:28
  better
• 39:28
  built
• 39:29
  home.
• 39:30
  Now
• 39:31
  the
• 39:31
  good
• 39:31
  thing
• 39:32
  with
• 39:32
  the
• 39:32
  old
• 39:32
  homes
• 39:32
  is,
• 39:33
  if
• 39:33
  you
• 39:33
  remember
• 39:33
  we
• 39:33
  talked
• 39:33
  about
• 39:34
  it
• 39:34
  earlier,
• 39:34
  is
• 39:35
  that
• 39:35
  these
• 39:35
  things
• 39:35
  were
• 39:35
  designed
• 39:36
  to
• 39:36
  breathe.
• 39:36
  So
• 39:36
  you
• 39:36
  didn't
• 39:37
  have
• 39:37
  the
• 39:37
  mold
• 39:37
  issues
• 39:37
  and
• 39:37
  the
• 39:38
  things
• 39:38
  we
• 39:38
  have
• 39:38
  with
• 39:38
  modern
• 39:39
  energy
• 39:39
  efficient
• 39:39
  houses.
• 39:40
  So
• 39:40
  you
• 39:41
  have
• 39:41
  to
• 39:41
  take
• 39:41
  into
• 39:41
  all
• 39:41
  the
• 39:42
  building
• 39:42
  science
• 39:42
  and
• 39:42
  stuff
• 39:42
  that
• 39:43
  goes
• 39:43
  with
• 39:43
  it.
• 39:44
  So
• 39:44
  yes,
• 39:44
  energy
• 39:45
  efficiency
• 39:46
  has
• 39:46
  caused
• 39:46
  many
• 39:47
  of
• 39:47
  our
• 39:47
  new
• 39:47
  issues
• 39:47
  in
• 39:47
  homes
• 39:48
  today.
• 39:48
  But
• 39:49
  still
• 39:50
  strength
• 39:50
  by
• 39:50
  strength,
• 39:51
  many
• 39:52
  times
• 39:52
  these
• 39:53
  new
• 39:53
  houses
• 39:54
  are
• 39:54
  stronger
• 39:55
  than
• 39:55
  the
• 39:55
  old
• 39:55
  ones
• 39:56
  and
• 39:56
  are
• 39:56
  going
• 39:57
  to
• 39:57
  be
• 39:57
  more
• 39:57
  resilient
• 39:58
  to
• 39:58
  earthquakes,
• 39:59
  high
• 39:59
  wind
• 40:01
  and
• 40:01
  things
• 40:01
  like
• 40:01
  that.
• 40:02
  So
• 40:03
  this
• 40:03
  is
• 40:03
  going
• 40:04
  to
• 40:04
  be
• 40:04
  always
• 40:05
  an
• 40:05
  issue.
• 40:06
  But
• 40:07
  with
• 40:07
  houses,
• 40:08
  yeah,
• 40:08
  the
• 40:08
  new
• 40:09
  ones
• 40:09
  are
• 40:09
  better
• 40:09
  built
• 40:10
  as
• 40:11
  long
• 40:11
  as
• 40:12
  you
• 40:12
  followed
• 40:12
  and
• 40:13
  used
• 40:13
  all
• 40:13
  the
• 40:13
  recent
• 40:14
  technology.
• 40:15
  Now
• 40:15
  when
• 40:15
  it
• 40:16
  comes
• 40:16
  to
• 40:16
  thing
• 40:16
  buying
• 40:16
  things
• 40:17
  at
• 40:17
  a
• 40:17
  home
• 40:17
  center,
• 40:17
  for
• 40:17
  instance,
• 40:18
  yeah,
• 40:19
  finishes
• 40:19
  are
• 40:20
  better.
• 40:21
  You
• 40:21
  used
• 40:21
  to
• 40:21
  have
• 40:21
  chrome,
• 40:22
  brass
• 40:23
  and
• 40:23
  they
• 40:24
  put
• 40:24
  a
• 40:24
  lacquer
• 40:24
  coat
• 40:24
  over
• 40:25
  the
• 40:25
  top.
• 40:25
  Now
• 40:25
  you
• 40:25
  got
• 40:25
  these
• 40:26
  PVA
• 40:26
  finishes.
• 40:27
  Cabinetry
• 40:27
  finishes
• 40:28
  are
• 40:28
  so
• 40:28
  much
• 40:28
  better
• 40:28
  than
• 40:28
  they
• 40:29
  used
• 40:29
  to
• 40:29
  be.
• 40:29
  Those
• 40:30
  old
• 40:30
  lacquer
• 40:30
  finishes
• 40:31
  that
• 40:31
  some
• 40:31
  custom
• 40:31
  shops
• 40:32
  still
• 40:32
  use
• 40:32
  today
• 40:33
  are
• 40:33
  well
• 40:34
  outshined.
• 40:34
  Because
• 40:35
  think
• 40:35
  about
• 40:35
  it,
• 40:36
  1950s
• 40:37
  and
• 40:37
  60s
• 40:38
  and
• 40:38
  70s,
• 40:39
  if
• 40:39
  you
• 40:39
  grew
• 40:40
  up
• 40:40
  during
• 40:40
  that
• 40:40
  time
• 40:41
  or
• 40:41
  you
• 40:41
  were
• 40:41
  alive
• 40:41
  during
• 40:42
  that
• 40:42
  time,
• 40:43
  on
• 40:43
  a
• 40:43
  Saturday
• 40:43
  morning,
• 40:44
  all
• 40:44
  the
• 40:44
  neighborhood
• 40:44
  people
• 40:45
  are
• 40:45
  out
• 40:45
  there
• 40:45
  washing
• 40:46
  and
• 40:46
  waxing
• 40:46
  their
• 40:46
  car
• 40:47
  and
• 40:47
  doing
• 40:47
  that
• 40:48
  every
• 40:48
  few
• 40:49
  weeks.
• 40:49
  You
• 40:50
  don't
• 40:50
  see
• 40:50
  anybody
• 40:50
  doing
• 40:50
  that
• 40:51
  anymore.
• 40:52
  You
• 40:52
  might
• 40:52
  see
• 40:52
  some
• 40:53
  hot
• 40:53
  rod
• 40:54
  person
• 40:54
  working
• 40:54
  on
• 40:55
  it.
• 40:55
  But
• 40:56
  now
• 40:56
  that
• 40:56
  they've
• 40:56
  gone
• 40:56
  to
• 40:56
  these
• 40:57
  better
• 40:57
  finishes,
• 40:57
  you
• 40:57
  don't
• 40:58
  have
• 40:58
  to
• 40:58
  wax
• 40:58
  them.
• 40:58
  You
• 40:58
  don't
• 40:59
  have
• 40:59
  the
• 41:00
  lacquer
• 41:00
  finish
• 41:01
  breaking
• 41:01
  down
• 41:01
  where
• 41:01
  you
• 41:01
  had
• 41:01
  to
• 41:01
  wax
• 41:02
  it
• 41:02
  and
• 41:02
  buff
• 41:02
  it
• 41:02
  all
• 41:02
  the
• 41:03
  time.
• 41:03
  So
• 41:03
  now
• 41:03
  people
• 41:04
  are
• 41:04
  running
• 41:04
  through
• 41:04
  that
• 41:04
  instant
• 41:05
  car
• 41:05
  wash,
• 41:05
  getting
• 41:05
  the
• 41:06
  car
• 41:06
  clean,
• 41:06
  they're
• 41:06
  good
• 41:06
  to
• 41:06
  go.
• 41:07
  And
• 41:07
  that
• 41:07
  10
• 41:07
  year
• 41:08
  old
• 41:08
  car
• 41:08
  looks
• 41:09
  just
• 41:09
  like
• 41:09
  it
• 41:09
  did
• 41:09
  when
• 41:10
  it
• 41:10
  came
• 41:10
  off
• 41:10
  the
• 41:10
  finish
• 41:10
  line.
• 41:11
  That's
• 41:12
  the
• 41:12
  way
• 41:12
  cabinetry
• 41:12
  finishes
• 41:13
  are
• 41:13
  today.
• 41:13
  Those
• 41:14
  old
• 41:14
  lacquer
• 41:14
  finishes.
• 41:15
  Yeah,
• 41:15
  they
• 41:15
  peel,
• 41:16
  they
• 41:16
  turn
• 41:16
  yellow,
• 41:17
  they
• 41:17
  come
• 41:17
  apart.
• 41:17
  If
• 41:18
  they're
• 41:18
  on
• 41:18
  maple
• 41:18
  by
• 41:19
  the
• 41:19
  sink,
• 41:19
  they
• 41:19
  flake
• 41:19
  off,
• 41:20
  they
• 41:20
  look
• 41:20
  horrible.
• 41:21
  A
• 41:21
  lot
• 41:22
  of
• 41:22
  technology
• 41:22
  has
• 41:22
  gone
• 41:23
  into
• 41:23
  new
• 41:23
  stuff
• 41:23
  today
• 41:24
  on
• 41:24
  the
• 41:24
  finishes
• 41:25
  and
• 41:25
  it
• 41:26
  just
• 41:26
  outperforms
• 41:27
  a
• 41:27
  lot
• 41:27
  of
• 41:27
  that
• 41:27
  old
• 41:27
  stuff.
• 41:28
  It's
• 41:28
  just
• 41:29
  like
• 41:29
  number
• 41:30
  10
• 41:30
  here,
• 41:30
  which
• 41:31
  is
• 41:31
  a
• 41:31
  good
• 41:31
  one.
• 41:31
  Old
• 41:32
  toilets
• 41:32
  work
• 41:32
  better
• 41:32
  than
• 41:33
  new
• 41:33
  ones.
• 41:34
  Wrong.
• 41:35
  It
• 41:35
  was
• 41:35
  great
• 41:35
  in
• 41:35
  the
• 41:35
  1990s
• 41:36
  and
• 41:36
  2000s.
• 41:37
  You're
• 41:37
  right.
• 41:37
  The
• 41:37
  old
• 41:38
  three
• 41:38
  or
• 41:38
  three
• 41:38
  and
• 41:39
  a
• 41:39
  half
• 41:39
  gallon
• 41:39
  toilets
• 41:39
  work
• 41:40
  better
• 41:40
  than
• 41:40
  the
• 41:40
  1.6
• 41:41
  gallon.
• 41:42
  But
• 41:42
  technology's
• 41:43
  come
• 41:43
  a
• 41:43
  long
• 41:44
  way.
• 41:45
  Right
• 41:45
  now
• 41:45
  you
• 41:46
  can
• 41:46
  go
• 41:46
  buy
• 41:46
  a
• 41:46
  Toto
• 41:47
  one
• 41:47
  gallon
• 41:48
  flush
• 41:49
  that
• 41:49
  will
• 41:49
  outperform
• 41:50
  your
• 41:50
  1970s
• 41:52
  avocado
• 41:53
  green
• 41:54
  three
• 41:54
  and
• 41:54
  a
• 41:54
  half
• 41:54
  gallon
• 41:55
  flush.
• 41:55
  They
• 41:56
  have
• 41:56
  coatings
• 41:56
  on
• 41:57
  the
• 41:57
  toilets.
• 41:58
  They
• 41:58
  have
• 41:58
  everything.
• 41:59
  So
• 41:59
  it's
• 41:59
  almost
• 41:59
  self
• 42:00
  cleaning.
• 42:01
  And
• 42:01
  yes,
• 42:02
  they
• 42:02
  have
• 42:02
  engineered
• 42:03
  with
• 42:04
  science
• 42:05
  a
• 42:05
  self
• 42:05
  cleaning
• 42:06
  toilet
• 42:06
  that
• 42:06
  uses
• 42:07
  a
• 42:07
  gallon
• 42:08
  of
• 42:08
  water
• 42:09
  and
• 42:09
  you
• 42:10
  don't
• 42:10
  have
• 42:10
  to
• 42:10
  double
• 42:10
  flush
• 42:11
  it.
• 42:11
  Now
• 42:11
  here's
• 42:11
  the
• 42:11
  thing.
• 42:12
  If
• 42:13
  you're
• 42:13
  putting
• 42:13
  that
• 42:13
  toilet
• 42:14
  in
• 42:14
  a
• 42:14
  basement
• 42:14
  of
• 42:14
  an
• 42:15
  old
• 42:15
  home
• 42:15
  with
• 42:15
  old
• 42:15
  plumbing
• 42:16
  that's
• 42:16
  sketchy,
• 42:17
  you
• 42:17
  might
• 42:17
  want
• 42:17
  a
• 42:18
  1.6
• 42:18
  gallon
• 42:18
  flush
• 42:19
  to
• 42:19
  do
• 42:20
  that
• 42:21
  because
• 42:21
  a
• 42:21
  little
• 42:21
  water
• 42:22
  can
• 42:22
  help
• 42:23
  alleviate
• 42:24
  those
• 42:24
  plumbing
• 42:24
  issues
• 42:25
  in
• 42:25
  a
• 42:25
  house.
• 42:26
  But
• 42:27
  as
• 42:27
  far
• 42:27
  as
• 42:28
  toilet
• 42:28
  performance
• 42:29
  and
• 42:29
  needing
• 42:30
  a
• 42:31
  plunger
• 42:32
  or
• 42:32
  having
• 42:32
  a
• 42:33
  partial
• 42:33
  flush,
• 42:34
  yes,
• 42:34
  one
• 42:35
  gallon
• 42:35
  will
• 42:36
  work
• 42:36
  very
• 42:37
  well
• 42:37
  if
• 42:38
  you
• 42:38
  get
• 42:38
  the
• 42:38
  right
• 42:39
  one.
• 42:40
  So
• 42:40
  that's
• 42:40
  the
• 42:40
  key
• 42:40
  right
• 42:41
  there
• 42:41
  guys,
• 42:41
  making
• 42:42
  sure
• 42:42
  that
• 42:42
  you've
• 42:43
  got
• 42:43
  the
• 42:43
  right
• 42:44
  toilet.
• 42:45
  And
• 42:45
  here's
• 42:45
  the
• 42:45
  thing,
• 42:45
  if
• 42:46
  you
• 42:46
  go
• 42:46
  in
• 42:46
  and
• 42:46
  buy
• 42:46
  the
• 42:46
  home
• 42:46
  center
• 42:47
  brand,
• 42:47
  their
• 42:47
  knockoff
• 42:48
  Glacier
• 42:49
  Bay
• 42:49
  or
• 42:49
  whatever
• 42:50
  brand
• 42:50
  that
• 42:50
  you
• 42:50
  see
• 42:51
  out
• 42:51
  there,
• 42:51
  yeah,
• 42:52
  it's
• 42:52
  not
• 42:52
  going
• 42:52
  to
• 42:52
  work
• 42:52
  as
• 42:52
  good
• 42:53
  as
• 42:53
  the
• 42:53
  other
• 42:53
  ones.
• 42:53
  Sure,
• 42:54
  the
• 42:55
  name
• 42:55
  brand
• 42:55
  ones,
• 42:56
  the
• 42:56
  people
• 42:56
  that
• 42:56
  have
• 42:56
  spent
• 42:57
  the
• 42:57
  money
• 42:57
  on
• 42:57
  the
• 42:57
  engineering
• 42:58
  like
• 42:58
  Toto,
• 43:00
  that's
• 43:00
  my
• 43:00
  favorite
• 43:00
  brand
• 43:01
  out
• 43:01
  there.
• 43:01
  They
• 43:01
  don't
• 43:01
  pay
• 43:01
  me
• 43:02
  to
• 43:02
  say
• 43:02
  that,
• 43:03
  but
• 43:03
  I
• 43:04
  have
• 43:04
  used
• 43:04
  their
• 43:04
  toilets
• 43:05
  for
• 43:05
  over
• 43:05
  a
• 43:06
  decade
• 43:06
  in
• 43:07
  most
• 43:07
  of
• 43:07
  my
• 43:08
  customers
• 43:08
  homes
• 43:09
  and
• 43:09
  they
• 43:09
  work
• 43:09
  great.
• 43:10
  They
• 43:10
  make
• 43:11
  more
• 43:11
  toilets
• 43:11
  than
• 43:11
  American
• 43:12
  Standard
• 43:12
  and
• 43:12
  Kohler
• 43:13
  combined.
• 43:13
  Usually
• 43:14
  you
• 43:14
  just
• 43:15
  can't
• 43:15
  see
• 43:15
  them
• 43:15
  in
• 43:15
  the
• 43:15
  home
• 43:15
  center.
• 43:16
  And
• 43:16
  that's
• 43:16
  one
• 43:17
  thing
• 43:17
  here
• 43:17
  that
• 43:17
  we
• 43:17
  have
• 43:18
  to
• 43:18
  think
• 43:18
  about
• 43:18
  when
• 43:19
  we're
• 43:19
  thinking
• 43:19
  about
• 43:19
  the
• 43:20
  home
• 43:20
  centers.
• 43:20
  And
• 43:20
  I'm
• 43:20
  not
• 43:21
  here
• 43:21
  just
• 43:21
  to
• 43:21
  bash
• 43:21
  on
• 43:21
  them,
• 43:22
  but
• 43:22
  the
• 43:22
  home
• 43:22
  centers
• 43:23
  are
• 43:23
  the
• 43:24
  bottom
• 43:25
  third
• 43:26
  to
• 43:26
  maybe
• 43:27
  bottom
• 43:28
  half
• 43:28
  of
• 43:28
  the
• 43:29
  home
• 43:29
  improvement
• 43:29
  market
• 43:30
  out
• 43:30
  there.
• 43:31
  That's
• 43:31
  why
• 43:31
  you
• 43:31
  don't
• 43:32
  see
• 43:32
  a
• 43:32
  lot
• 43:33
  of
• 43:33
  high
• 43:33
  end
• 43:34
  custom
• 43:34
  projects
• 43:35
  going
• 43:35
  to
• 43:35
  the
• 43:35
  home
• 43:35
  centers
• 43:36
  because
• 43:37
  they
• 43:37
  are
• 43:38
  done.
• 43:38
  They
• 43:39
  have
• 43:39
  just
• 43:39
  focused
• 43:40
  on
• 43:41
  that
• 43:41
  lower
• 43:41
  third
• 43:42
  to
• 43:42
  maybe
• 43:43
  lower
• 43:43
  half
• 43:44
  of
• 43:44
  the
• 43:44
  home
• 43:44
  improvement
• 43:45
  market.
• 43:46
  So
• 43:46
  if
• 43:46
  you're
• 43:47
  looking
• 43:47
  for
• 43:47
  that
• 43:47
  nicer
• 43:48
  home,
• 43:48
  you
• 43:49
  might
• 43:49
  not
• 43:49
  be
• 43:49
  wanting
• 43:49
  to
• 43:50
  shop
• 43:50
  at
• 43:50
  the
• 43:50
  home
• 43:50
  centers
• 43:51
  for
• 43:51
  your
• 43:52
  faucets,
• 43:52
  your
• 43:52
  toilets.
• 43:53
  If
• 43:53
  you've
• 43:54
  got
• 43:54
  that
• 43:54
  higher
• 43:54
  end
• 43:54
  home,
• 43:55
  you
• 43:55
  should
• 43:55
  be
• 43:55
  over
• 43:55
  at
• 43:56
  your
• 43:56
  plumbing
• 43:57
  retailer
• 43:58
  where
• 43:58
  the
• 43:59
  plumbers
• 43:59
  go
• 44:00
  to
• 44:00
  deal
• 44:00
  with
• 44:00
  that.
• 44:01
  So
• 44:01
  that's
• 44:01
  the
• 44:01
  key
• 44:02
  right
• 44:02
  there.
• 44:03
  So
• 44:03
  let's
• 44:03
  review
• 44:03
  our
• 44:04
  list
• 44:04
  we
• 44:04
  were
• 44:04
  just
• 44:04
  talking
• 44:05
  about.
• 44:05
  Old
• 44:05
  toilets
• 44:05
  work
• 44:05
  better
• 44:06
  than
• 44:06
  new
• 44:06
  ones.
• 44:07
  Yeah,
• 44:07
  that's
• 44:08
  a
• 44:08
  myth.
• 44:09
  They
• 44:09
  don't
• 44:09
  make
• 44:09
  things
• 44:09
  like
• 44:10
  they
• 44:10
  used
• 44:10
  to.
• 44:10
  Yeah,
• 44:11
  lots
• 44:11
  of
• 44:11
  finishes
• 44:12
  and
• 44:12
  even
• 44:12
  homes
• 44:13
  are
• 44:13
  better
• 44:13
  built
• 44:14
  today
• 44:15
  because
• 44:15
  of
• 44:15
  engineering
• 44:15
  and
• 44:16
  things
• 44:16
  like
• 44:16
  that.
• 44:17
  Custom
• 44:17
  cabinetry
• 44:18
  is
• 44:18
  better
• 44:18
  than
• 44:18
  a
• 44:18
  big
• 44:19
  box
• 44:19
  store.
• 44:20
  Yeah,
• 44:20
  that's
• 44:20
  a
• 44:20
  myth.
• 44:21
  Many
• 44:22
  times
• 44:22
  there's
• 44:22
  exceptions.
• 44:23
  There's
• 44:23
  a
• 44:23
  lot
• 44:23
  of
• 44:23
  great
• 44:23
  custom
• 44:24
  shops
• 44:24
  out
• 44:24
  there.
• 44:24
  Number
• 44:25
  seven.
• 44:25
  Big
• 44:25
  box
• 44:25
  stores
• 44:26
  save
• 44:26
  you
• 44:26
  money.
• 44:27
  Sometimes
• 44:27
  they
• 44:28
  have
• 44:28
  lost
• 44:28
  leaders.
• 44:29
  Sometimes
• 44:29
  you
• 44:29
  can
• 44:30
  buy
• 44:30
  better
• 44:30
  off
• 44:30
  even
• 44:31
  Amazon
• 44:31
  than
• 44:31
  you
• 44:32
  can
• 44:32
  there.
• 44:32
  Especially
• 44:33
  when
• 44:33
  it
• 44:33
  comes
• 44:33
  to
• 44:33
  wire
• 44:34
  and
• 44:34
  things
• 44:34
  like
• 44:34
  that.
• 44:34
  Big
• 44:35
  box
• 44:35
  stores
• 44:35
  used
• 44:36
  to
• 44:36
  be
• 44:37
  that
• 44:37
  loss
• 44:37
  leader
• 44:37
  with
• 44:38
  that
• 44:38
  now
• 44:38
  because
• 44:38
  of
• 44:39
  theft
• 44:39
  and
• 44:39
  things
• 44:39
  like
• 44:39
  that,
• 44:40
  they're
• 44:40
  not.
• 44:40
  You
• 44:40
  can
• 44:41
  find
• 44:41
  better
• 44:42
  prices
• 44:42
  on
• 44:42
  some
• 44:42
  of
• 44:43
  those
• 44:43
  things.
• 44:43
  Social
• 44:44
  media
• 44:44
  and
• 44:44
  AI
• 44:44
  have
• 44:45
  all
• 44:45
  the
• 44:45
  answers.
• 44:45
  Yeah,
• 44:46
  sometimes
• 44:46
  it
• 44:46
  can
• 44:46
  be
• 44:46
  right,
• 44:47
  sometimes
• 44:47
  they
• 44:47
  can
• 44:47
  be
• 44:48
  very
• 44:48
  wrong
• 44:48
  depending
• 44:49
  on
• 44:49
  the
• 44:49
  source
• 44:49
  that
• 44:49
  they're
• 44:49
  basing
• 44:50
  off
• 44:50
  of.
• 44:51
  Any
• 44:51
  contractor
• 44:52
  can
• 44:52
  handle
• 44:52
  any
• 44:53
  job.
• 44:53
  No,
• 44:54
  you
• 44:54
  want
• 44:54
  the
• 44:54
  specialty
• 44:54
  ones
• 44:55
  to
• 44:55
  figure
• 44:55
  it
• 44:55
  out.
• 44:56
  And
• 44:56
  we
• 44:56
  dove
• 44:57
  into
• 44:58
  a
• 44:58
  common
• 44:59
  myth
• 44:59
  that
• 44:59
  all
• 44:59
  plumbers
• 44:59
  and
• 45:00
  electricians
• 45:00
  are
• 45:00
  rip
• 45:01
  off.
• 45:01
  And
• 45:01
  we
• 45:01
  explained
• 45:02
  where
• 45:02
  these
• 45:02
  costs
• 45:02
  come
• 45:03
  from
• 45:03
  and
• 45:03
  how
• 45:04
  we
• 45:04
  can
• 45:04
  affect
• 45:04
  that
• 45:04
  with
• 45:05
  the
• 45:05
  decisions
• 45:05
  we
• 45:05
  make
• 45:06
  in
• 45:06
  the
• 45:06
  future.
• 45:07
  And
• 45:07
  then
• 45:07
  before
• 45:07
  that
• 45:08
  asbestos
• 45:08
  can
• 45:08
  be
• 45:08
  ignored.
• 45:09
  No,
• 45:10
  that's
• 45:10
  a
• 45:10
  health
• 45:11
  hazard
• 45:11
  you
• 45:11
  need
• 45:11
  to
• 45:11
  be
• 45:11
  careful
• 45:12
  with.
• 45:12
  And
• 45:13
  number
• 45:13
  one,
• 45:13
  just
• 45:13
  because
• 45:13
  if
• 45:14
  it's
• 45:14
  a
• 45:14
  home
• 45:14
  center
• 45:14
  doesn't
• 45:15
  mean
• 45:15
  it
• 45:15
  meet
• 45:15
  doesn't
• 45:16
  mean
• 45:16
  that
• 45:16
  it
• 45:16
  meets
• 45:17
  building
• 45:17
  code.
• 45:17
  These
• 45:18
  are
• 45:18
  all
• 45:18
  issues
• 45:19
  that
• 45:20
  home
• 45:20
  center
• 45:20
  will
• 45:21
  sell
• 45:21
  you
• 45:21
  stuff
• 45:22
  because
• 45:22
  that's
• 45:22
  a
• 45:22
  good
• 45:23
  buy
• 45:23
  for
• 45:23
  them
• 45:23
  and
• 45:24
  it's
• 45:24
  a
• 45:24
  good
• 45:24
  buy
• 45:24
  for
• 45:24
  you.
• 45:25
  But
• 45:25
  it
• 45:26
  might
• 45:26
  not
• 45:26
  meet
• 45:26
  building
• 45:26
  code.
• 45:27
  You
• 45:27
  got
• 45:28
  a
• 45:28
  comment
• 45:28
  on
• 45:28
  any
