- 0:05My name is Julio. I am currently fifty- eight years old and are
- 0:10an engineer. During all the years I have worked I have had different events,
- 0:16but especially fasting that marked me and that I remember clearly until today.
- 0:21It happened when he was thirty and lived in Puebla, specifically in Tehuacán.
- 0:28One of my friends, who also worked in the construction field, called me
- 0:32one morning and told me they needed a construction supervisor for a house in a
- 0:36place called San Diego. The land was my friend' s cousin' s,
- 0:42who had decided to make the house of his dreams in that place where
- 0:46he was born. That' s where we started the play on a Monday.
- 0:50That day I met the workers and liked them very well. In addition,
- 0:55they were very respectful and responsible, especially the maestro Albañil, who carried
- 0:59the money of the others, as he was accompanied by his twelve- year
- 1:04- old son, named Hector, who did the errands that his father entrusted
- 1:07to him. They made breakfast that morning. They invited me politely and I
- 1:14accepted gratefully. I gave them instructions on how we would work and what we
- 1:19had to accomplish for that week. It was big land and the house we
- 1:23were asked for was huge, so we had a lot of work to do.
- 1:29When I was about to leave, Hector approached me and started talking to
- 1:33me. He told me that for the holidays he had decided to help his
- 1:38father and thus raise some money to buy his mother some very nice flowers and,
- 1:42in addition, to buy his list of school supplies, which I found
- 1:47something very nice on the part of the child, who also told me that
- 1:52his dream was to be an engineer like me and that he was wanting to
- 1:57be able to achieve it. I was happy to talk to him, because
- 2:00he was very polite and kind. Then I said goodbye and went to the
- 2:04office, where I had several earrings. A few hours later I went back
- 2:09to check that everything was all right and noticed that they had moved very fast
- 2:15and, as it was late, I told them that they could leave,
- 2:19as they had all left. I took the time to thoroughly review every detail.
- 2:23I was focused on checking that everything was okay, when suddenly I heard
- 2:28someone say my name. The truth surprised me because it was a loud voice,
- 2:34because it belonged to a woman. In that I responded by inertia,
- 2:38but silence reigned in the place for a few minutes until again I heard someone
- 2:43pronounce my name. I didn' t think of something paranormal, honestly,
- 2:49because it was just six o' clock in the afternoon and those things,
- 2:53as far as I knew, happened at night, but not at that time.
- 2:55I heard they might scare you in the daytime, too. I realized
- 2:59that it was a bad thing when my skin got chinita and the fear took
- 3:02over my body because my hands began to tremble. The voice began to become
- 3:09more and more serious and repeated my name non- stop until it reached the
- 3:15point where it said so. About fifteen times almost no spaces and it was
- 3:19heard as if it was whispering directly into my ear. I stood still and
- 3:23when I finally stopped running, I made my car and drove as fast as
- 3:28I could until I got home. In that I told my wife and she
- 3:32told me that maybe I had only imagined that, maybe, the stress had
- 3:36earned me and that' s why I had heard those things. Of course
- 3:40I was sure it had happened, and so was she, but I knew
- 3:46she was telling me that to try to calm down and I tried to tell
- 3:51myself that maybe I was just too tired. At about eight o' clock
- 3:54at night, I went to sleep, but it took me a lot,
- 3:59because you couldn' t get that woman' s voice out of my head
- 4:02it was like I heard her again. In those moments, as I wandered,
- 4:06I fell deeply asleep and the next morning I went to the play to
- 4:12supervise. That' s where I greeted everyone and got to work. I
- 4:16preferred not to count the experience I had the previous afternoon because I didn'
- 4:21t want to scare them, or maybe it was rather that I didn'
- 4:26t want them to think that their authority figure was a fearful or superstitious one.
- 4:29Hector told me that the next day would be his father' s birthday
- 4:33and that he didn' t know what to give him because he didn'
- 4:38t have money, and I told him not to worry, that we would
- 4:42prepare something for his dad and that, sure, he would be very happy
- 4:47In that he thanked me and we paused our talk, because his father called
- 4:50him to help him with some things. That day I stayed longer in the
- 4:53play, I went for several things that were needed and in the afternoon I
- 4:58ordered a cake for the birthday of Master Mason. In the morning I didn
- 5:02' t even remember the incident of the first day, because we were very
- 5:06happy. Celebrating, we had cake and at noon I brought food for everyone
- 5:13and Hector thanked me very much, seeing that his father was very happy with
- 5:16the surprise and I felt very good. So they spent many days supervising and
- 5:23talking with the workers, who by then were already good friends of mine.
- 5:28Everything was going great until one day something happened that disturbed me a lot.
- 5:33That day, everyone worked as usual. I was in the office at the
- 5:39time, but one of them realized something weird. When the excavator removed the
- 5:44earth, he noticed something strange sticking out of the floor, so he decided
- 5:48to go and investigate what it was. In that he pulled the object and
- 5:53took a surprise when he saw that it was a human bone and that there
- 5:57was more under the ground, but instead of being scared, he took it
- 6:01as a funny thing and began to throw them. While he was mocking.
- 6:04The masons were surprised by his attitude and rebuked him for that by asking him
- 6:11to stop, but he listened to me. Then whoever was running the excavator
- 6:15didn' t realize that the mason had moved from there and placed the land
- 6:19exactly where he was burying it. I' m surprised and scared. The
- 6:26workers tried to help him, but he was useless in that. One of
- 6:31them called me and I went right away to see what had happened and when
- 6:36I arrived they had already taken him out of there with the help of the
- 6:40machine, because he was very scared and I told him that he could go
- 6:43home. When he left, he told me what had happened and I couldn
- 6:47' t believe it. One of them said that surely that had happened to
- 6:53him because he had mocked the person who had been those bones and the spirit
- 6:57had avenged itself. We didn' t tell anyone about the bones, because
- 7:02we knew that would give us trouble or could delay the work and the most
- 7:08convenient thing for everyone was to finish as soon as possible. We were all
- 7:12very nervous, but we kept working, although among them they kept muttering about
- 7:16what had happened. After a few hours, exactly seven o' clock I
- 7:20told them they could get out. I stayed to give one last review and
- 7:26we were on winter time, so by that time it was getting dark.
- 7:31I walked around the place watching everything be okay. When I stumbled upon something,
- 7:36it wasn' t a big fall. I had only hurt my ankle
- 7:40a little, but that was not what worried me, but the way I
- 7:44slipped. It was a very strange thing, a glass bottle full of what
- 7:49seemed to be blood and had a black ribbon rolled up and a staff saying
- 7:55in the middle. I thought it was impossible for any of the workers or
- 7:59to have seen it, because it was in the middle of the place.
- 8:03At that I raised him with some fear and inspected him more closely and the
- 8:07substance inside him looked very strange. It was a dark red liquid combined with
- 8:13black hair. My face denoted repulsion and the darkness began to stalk me by
- 8:20making me narrow my eyes to see better, for it was obvious that it
- 8:26was something related to witchcraft, but I didn' t understand who could do
- 8:31something like that and worse still I didn' t understand why I spent a
- 8:37few minutes looking at that object until I heard something. When I turned my
- 8:41eyes opened like plates. When she saw a woman peeking out behind the earth,
- 8:46her eyes were deformed, tears of blood came out of her eyes,
- 8:50and her expression was of absolute hatred, the figure that seemed not to be
- 8:56of this world. When he saw me, he went out and ran to
- 8:58me like that. When I saw the glass jar, I fell to the
- 9:01floor and covered my eyes with my hands waiting for the worst. I'
- 9:05ve never been so scared in the background I knew something would happen to me
- 9:11and that I probably wouldn' t come home anymore. But after several minutes,
- 9:15with his eyes covered, nothing happened. So I decided to take my
- 9:20hands off slowly. Terror was running through my veins, but I couldn'
- 9:24t stay there forever. When I finally saw it I realized there was no
- 9:30one, but the substance in the bottle was lying everywhere and it looked disgusting
- 9:33and terrifying. I wasn' t going to stay there another minute, so
- 9:41I ran the car like this and left while driving my heart, beating quickly
- 9:46reminding that woman of her eyes full of hate and blood. Watching me,
- 9:52I put on some music to try and calm down, because I knew if
- 9:56I didn' t, I might have an accident. When I finally felt
- 10:01a little calmer, something else happened, as the road that took me from
- 10:05San Diego to my house was somewhat lonely and dark. That' s why
- 10:11I drove fast and when I breathed a breath of tranquility, I heard the
- 10:16same voice that had said my name on the first day. I didn'
- 10:18t say that this time. This time he was warning me to leave the
- 10:22play, that we all leave it. If he didn' t get revenge,
- 10:26he' d take a soul. When I heard this, tears began
- 10:31to roll down my cheeks, crying in horror and screaming at him to leave
- 10:35me alone. One of my tears fell on my shirt and I realized it
- 10:39was blood. I thought I' d stop and pee somewhere on the road,
- 10:46but it would be worse, so I better turn up the volume of
- 10:50the muisca so I wouldn' t hear anything else and drove straight home.
- 10:54I took a bath and thought about what had happened that day, in the
- 10:58bones, in the mason buried, in the bottle with blood and in the
- 11:03strange woman who tormented me and I wanted to convince myself that, maybe everything
- 11:07was coincidence and that it meant nothing. But he couldn' t stop the
- 11:13work, because not now, when it wasn' t long enough, because
- 11:18all the time, money and effort would go to waste and he couldn'
- 11:22t allow it for something he couldn' t explain. That night I didn
- 11:26' t tell my wife what had happened. I didn' t want to
- 11:31worry her, so I told her it had been a great day, even
- 11:33though it was the worst. I tried to sleep and because of physical and
- 11:37mental tiredness. It didn' t cost me anything to fall asleep, although
- 11:41all morning I had nightmares. I dreamt of the place where we were building
- 11:46the work, but years earlier I noticed it because of people' s clothes
- 11:52and because there was a house. The house was very large and very old,
- 11:56seeing a very beautiful, white and black- haired woman come out,
- 12:00who got into a car and later left with her boyfriend. They went into
- 12:07the place, but soon afterwards, tearful screams flooded the place. I didn
- 12:13' t understand what was going on, but I was so scared. Soon
- 12:16the people would gather and someone would come into the house screaming for help and
- 12:22immediately coming to the police and arresting the man. Then the nightmare ended,
- 12:26but now I dreamt in my room I saw the place in third person and
- 12:31I saw me and my wife that we were completely asleep. The awfully scary
- 12:37thing was that next to me was the woman who had appeared on the ground
- 12:41and was staring at me while I was sleeping. Fear made me wake up
- 12:46sweating cold and very scared. I opened my eyes slowly and the nightmare had
- 12:54come true, because the woman was at my side and on her horrible face
- 12:58she was drawn in no time. A demonic smile. In that I screamed
- 13:03with all my might and my wife woke up alarmed. He hugged me and
- 13:09tried to calm me down, but it was impossible. It was completely cold
- 13:13and stared at. A while later I was better, but I couldn'
- 13:18t forget that woman' s face and mainly what she was transmitting to me
- 13:24that night I couldn' t sleep. I was too scared and I'
- 13:28d rather be alert in case that thing showed up again. At eight in
- 13:31the morning I arrived at the work very tired, with remarkable shiners and a
- 13:37lot of sleep. I didn' t tell anyone what happened to me,
- 13:41but Hector came to me and asked me if I was okay. I lied
- 13:46to him and said yes, that I had only been a little unwarranted by
- 13:50reviewing some contracts, but he didn' t believe me. He told me
- 13:54that I looked too bad, that it couldn' t be just for that.
- 13:58I told him not to worry about it, he was fine, and
- 14:01he told me he had to tell me something. We walked away a little
- 14:05and told me that the truth was very afraid, that since he started working
- 14:11there he had felt strange and that he had had very ugly nightmares, because
- 14:16he said that he dreamed of a woman crying blood and that just that morning
- 14:20his father and he arrived before the others and saw what appeared to be blood
- 14:26on the floor. They cleaned her up and said nothing, but it was
- 14:30really weird everything, and even though she was just a kid, she was
- 14:33very smart. I told him that it was probably nothing, that it was
- 14:39coincidences, that he should not worry In that he looked at me attentively and
- 14:45broke the silence, telling me that he could notice that I too was terrified
- 14:50and that he was likely to also suffer from nightmares. I answered by denying
- 14:52his head and stirred his hair with my hand and went to the master to
- 14:58ask him how the whole truth was going. Hector liked me very much,
- 15:03but I didn' t want to tell him that the same thing happened to
- 15:07me and that I had even seen the woman on the ground and next to
- 15:11my bed, because I didn' t want to scare him anymore or tell
- 15:15his father and think he was crazy. So the best thing was to do
- 15:16as if nothing happened and finish as soon as possible so that I would never
- 15:22go back to that place again. However, that day we had to stay
- 15:26longer because we needed to end the week by fulfilling its goal. So I
- 15:31told the boys we' d be out at about eight o' clock at
- 15:35night, not without first telling them they' d be paid the extra time
- 15:39if they stayed. Most of them were from San Diego, so they had
- 15:43no problem staying a while longer. That night something happened that would bring to
- 15:48light everything that had happened before, for this time it would be a terrible
- 15:54thing for a worker to witness. They were all doing what they had to
- 15:58do and in a moment, the maestro mason asked one of them to go
- 16:03for a tool that was back where the yard would be. In that the
- 16:07worker obeyed and went to look for her, but a moment later they heard
- 16:12her screams. We went to see what had happened and saw him covering his
- 16:17eyes. He was bilge and his gray jacket had a few drops of blood.
- 16:22We asked him what had happened and he told us that he was looking
- 16:26for the tool and that he suddenly felt something had fallen on his forehead and
- 16:30when he touched him with his fingers to see what it was, he realized
- 16:33that it was blood and when he looked up in one of the columns was
- 16:38a woman sitting in a black dress, with her mouth dripping with blood and
- 16:42with an ear smile He says that he felt the temperature started to go down
- 16:48and that at that moment he screamed and crouched and covered his eyes trying to
- 16:53protect himself from that spirit. We were shocked and Hector looked at me as
- 16:59if telling me he was right and I just nodded. That' s where
- 17:03we got away from there and I went to buy them some dinner to lower
- 17:07the tension that felt. We had coffee and had a cake while we were
- 17:14talking, and one of them told us that when he was little, his
- 17:18uncle had told him what happened in that place. He told us that many
- 17:22years ago there was a very large and beautiful house where a newlywed couple lived.
- 17:29The woman was named Rossió and was only eighteen years old and the man
- 17:33was Don Saul, who was fifty- eight, for Roseola' s parents
- 17:38had forced him to marry the lord to end his poverty. Unfortunately, the
- 17:44young woman was not happy with that man, as well as being very old
- 17:48for her. He also beat her and wouldn' t let her go out
- 17:52just to the market or the church where he met David. David was a
- 17:56very friendly and friendly young man I l l. As soon as he saw
- 18:00it sprayed, he was totally flung and sent him a flower or chocolate with
- 18:06a child. The young woman was very excited about him, as no one
- 18:11had had such tender details with her. One night after the end of the
- 18:15last Mass, David dared to talk to him and talked for a while.
- 18:19Although people whispered when they saw them, they did not think it would reach
- 18:25older, but the people of the village told Saul that they had seen his
- 18:29wife speak to another man and as soon as dew came to the house,
- 18:33her husband hit him so hard that he ended his life. Neighbors heard the
- 18:37screams and called the police and broke into the marriage house. They found him
- 18:44spraying lifeless with his mouth full of blood, just like his head. They
- 18:48put Saul in jail and years later, that house was demolished, as those
- 18:52who bought it said they saw a woman crying blood, because no one had
- 18:57built there until that day we arrived. When the story ended, I was
- 19:03very nervous because I knew that then everything I had seen and heard was real,
- 19:10because it was not in my imagination. Nobody said anything about that.
- 19:14They kept their things and each went home. I had a hard time sleeping
- 19:19thinking about whether it was a good idea to go on with the play,
- 19:23because the paranormal activity. I kept on tormenting, but I finally fell asleep
- 19:27with the idea of continuing in the early morning. One call woke me up.
- 19:32I answered numbly, but the dream was taken away from me when I
- 19:36heard the agitated voice of Hector' s father, who desperately told me that
- 19:41they had had an accident and that Hector was in the hospital. I didn
- 19:45' t doubt it for a second and went to where he told me.
- 19:48When I arrived, the gentleman told me that an hour earlier he had received
- 19:52his mother' s call, that he told her that he felt very bad
- 19:56and that he would go to see her. In that he asked him to
- 20:00accompany him and together they were on their way to see her. The father
- 20:03was driving the truck and Hector was a co- pilot. They went quietly
- 20:07until they heard something in the back seats and when they turned around, they
- 20:12saw a woman with a blood- filled smile who told them that they had
- 20:17not listened to their warnings and that if she had not been happy, no
- 20:21one would be happy. At that point, they lost control of the steering
- 20:26wheel and crashed. He was fine, but the boy didn' t respond,
- 20:30so he quickly called emergencies. If they took him, then he dialed
- 20:36his mother and she told him he' d never dialed him. On that
- 20:40point, the doctors said Hector was very bad and they didn' t know
- 20:44if he was going to survive. And when I heard this, I collapsed.
- 20:47I couldn' t believe what he was saying to me, because I
- 20:51just gave him a hug and told him everything would be fine, trust him,
- 20:56but nothing made him feel better. I sat down and my wife dialed
- 21:00me and told her what had happened. I told him I felt guilty because
- 21:03I should have stopped the play. She told me it wasn' t my
- 21:07fault, that I just did my job. The talk was interrupted by a
- 21:12tearing cry from Hector' s father, as the doctor told him that his
- 21:18son had died. After that, the guilt tormented me every night, because
- 21:22that entity had taken Hector for not listening to him and that shattered my soul.
- 21:30Then I decided to give up the work and the workers, when they
- 21:34knew what had happened, they also did it, because the voice got out
- 21:38and no one wanted to go on with the work and the sacrifice for being
- 21:44on the field was Hector' s life.
