- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:11Enough. I have had it with these
- 0:14motherfucking snakes on this. Motherfucking plane.
- 0:18Welcome to What's Your Least Favorite Scary Movie?
- 0:21The podcast where we talk about the good, the bad, the ugly, and
- 0:25most importantly of all, the absurd and all of our.
- 0:27Favorite and least favorite scary movies?
- 0:29Because we believe every horror movie rifely has as fanbase.
- 0:32Even if we don't always get it. My name is Travis.
- 0:35My name is Jesse and we're finishing up the busiest travel
- 0:38month of the year with the most stressful travel movie of the
- 0:42odds. We're talking Snakes on a Plane.
- 0:46So excited. One quick announcement before
- 0:49that is we will have our Patreon bonus episode up.
- 0:54If it's not already up, it'll be up over this weekend.
- 0:57We are going to be playing a game, one of those games for
- 1:02Travis and I write prompts for each other and the person.
- 1:05The other person has to guess. This time we are doing horror
- 1:10movie tripadvisory reviews, so essentially we're going to be
- 1:15riding what we assume somebody would feel and review about
- 1:19their own unpleasant trip in a horror movie.
- 1:23Yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:25That should be fun. Looking forward to it.
- 1:26OK, cool. Well, I don't have polis.
- 1:29Yeah, it's been, it's been weird.
- 1:32I guess in that case, we'll just jump right in.
- 1:34Yeah, let's just jump into it. OK, so Snakes on a Plane.
- 1:38It released August 18th, 2006. We watched it on Prime.
- 1:42Right now, you can only rent it either from Prime, YouTube,
- 1:46Google TV, Apple TV, or Fandango at home.
- 1:49Written by John Heffernan, who did this story and the
- 1:52screenplay, Sebastian Gutierrez, who helped with the screenplay,
- 1:56and David Dalessandro, who wrote the story directed by David R
- 2:01Ellis, music by Trevor Rabin. And I'm just going to pull up
- 2:05the IMDb page because I couldn't find a specific special effects
- 2:09company associated with this movie, at least not on the
- 2:12Internet, and there are a lot of people involved.
- 2:15And because there were so, so many different effects done with
- 2:19the likes, the snake bites and everything, I want to make sure
- 2:22that everybody gets their credit for it, yeah.
- 2:24There's a lot going on in this movie.
- 2:25Yes. So Prosthetic makeup effects by
- 2:27Anthony Allen Barlow. Prosthetics by Ken Culver.
- 2:32Special effects makeup by Christopher Dooley.
- 2:35Additional prosthetics by Mark Garberino.
- 2:38Special effects makeup by Selenga Doe, Prosthetic makeup
- 2:43by Greg Johnson. Prosthetic makeup by Todd
- 2:47Masters. Special effects makeup by Anne
- 2:49McClain, Aaron, prosthetic makeup by Sarah Pickersgill,
- 2:53prosthetic makeup by Sam Paulin, prosthetic makeup by Brad
- 2:57Proctor, Brad Proctor, prosthetic makeup by Dan Revert,
- 3:03prosthetic makeup by Jamie Salmon and special effects
- 3:06makeup by Dave Snyder. God damn that's that's a team.
- 3:10It is quite a team and it's because we've got quite a cast
- 3:16as we will go into starring Samuel L Jackson as Neville
- 3:20Flynn, Julianna Margulis as Claire Miller, Nathan Phillips
- 3:24as Sean Jones, Rachel Blanchard as Mercedes Flex, Alexander's
- 3:283GS, Kenan Thompson as Troy Keith, Dallas as Big, Leroy Lynn
- 3:33Shea as Grace, Bryce James as Ken, Sonny Mabry as Tiffany,
- 3:38Bobby Cannavale as Hank Harris and Byron Lawson as Eddie Kim
- 3:44Travis. Yes, time for your favorite
- 3:45game. Budget or budget, man, I know
- 3:49that this is like a cheap, like it's a movie that doesn't take
- 3:53itself seriously, but I feel like with the people and all the
- 3:57talent that you listed there, it's got to be a budget.
- 3:59Like it's got to be over $10 million.
- 4:01To make this thing, oh, absolutely, 33 million. 33
- 4:04million, that's a that's even higher than I was expecting.
- 4:06Really. That's crazy.
- 4:07That's 33 million for this kind of movie right here.
- 4:10You can say it was more than 10 years in the making.
- 4:13Just you wait. What?
- 4:14Just you wait. What in the fuck?
- 4:16So opening box office. 13.8 million worldwide gross 62
- 4:20million IMDb score 5.5. Wow, I thought 62 is below, from
- 4:26what I expected at least. Yeah, this is definitely one of
- 4:30those. I think because of its B movie
- 4:33nature has more of a cold status than anything.
- 4:36Yeah, but I remember it being big well.
- 4:38Because of the Internet, it was. A big part of the hype was
- 4:41Internet. That makes sense.
- 4:42So I spent a lot of time on the Internet during this time.
- 4:46I have a theme for 2006 movies, all right, just so we could see
- 4:50what else is going on in the world.
- 4:52There's too much fucking shit too.
- 4:54Much fucking shit. Too much fucking.
- 4:55Shit, I wanted to be, there's too much shit on me.
- 4:58But the last one I couldn't quite come up with like being
- 5:01covered, so OK. This is.
- 5:04Too much fucking shit. Too much fucking shit.
- 5:06The first one is Slither. No, this is the one.
- 5:08This is too. Much fucking shit.
- 5:10Yeah that. Released March 31st 2006.
- 5:13Budget of 15,000,000 and a worldwide gross of 12 point
- 5:188,000,006.5 out of 10 on IMDb. That's crazy.
- 5:23That's a good movie. Yeah, it's a really good movie.
- 5:262nd movie. Wicker Man.
- 5:29Oh my God, the. Bees The Bees that came out
- 5:33September 1st, 2006. Budget of 40 million worldwide.
- 5:38Ghost of 38.8 million. I kind of like the way these
- 5:43numbers work out because the IMDb score is 3.8.
- 5:47Harsh. And then the third movie, Scary
- 5:51Movie 4. Scary Movie for OK?
- 5:54Aliens. Yeah, aliens.
- 5:55Yeah, there's, there's too many fucking aliens.
- 5:57Too much fucking Aliens that released April 14th, 2006.
- 6:02A budget of 45,000,000 and a worldwide gross of 178,000,005.1
- 6:08out of 10 on IMDb. Nice.
- 6:09OK, that's a good theme right there.
- 6:11Yeah, I just, you know, we're, we're mass attacks.
- 6:14So yeah, OK, I have a few tag lines.
- 6:18Honestly I expected this to be 1 where I was gonna have to like
- 6:20pull out my phone, but that's not how it worked out.
- 6:22Like Final Destination, Yeah, yeah, OK.
- 6:25What we got here? OK, so we have on the poster.
- 6:28Sit back, relax, enjoy the freight.
- 6:32That's a good attitude to come into this movie with.
- 6:34Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think that's what most
- 6:36people need to approach this with.
- 6:38Here's one that was not necessarily a timeless tagline.
- 6:43On August 18th, summer really begins.
- 6:47OK. Yeah, OK.
- 6:48Yeah. OK, let's see, at 30,000 feet,
- 6:53snakes aren't the deadliest thing on this plane.
- 6:56Oh, what is this is the same Jackson?
- 6:58Yeah. Obviously.
- 6:59Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then Keenan, I really
- 7:07thought about doing like how he introduced Neville on the on the
- 7:11radio. I thought about making that my
- 7:13intro. Oh, that would have been.
- 7:13Fun too. Yeah, How am I gonna, how am I
- 7:16gonna skip out on one of the most infamous Sam Jackson
- 7:19quotes? Of all time, if you didn't open
- 7:21with what you opened with, I would have been disappointed.
- 7:23Especially with some of the stuff I found out about this
- 7:25movie, I'm so excited for fun facts and then finally airline
- 7:30Food ain't what you gotta worry about.
- 7:33Oh, that's good. That's not bad, it's silly.
- 7:35It's silly, it's silly. OK, so some fun facts.
- 7:39Just a little bit of fun stuff that I found on the Internet.
- 7:44We do own this, but it is currently borrowed out to some
- 7:48friends. We were very insistent, needed
- 7:50to see it so I had to go to the Internet for this.
- 7:53But it's okay cuz I'm very excited about some of the
- 7:55information I found. I'm excited to hear about it.
- 7:57You've been happening. So David Dalessandro, who came
- 8:00up with the story of this, he actually came up with this idea
- 8:03in 1992. Holy shit.
- 8:05And it was just one snake on a plane, and it was called Venom.
- 8:09And then it kind of morphed over the next couple of years to
- 8:11include more snakes. And then he also credits the
- 8:13movie Aliens to his idea for putting the snakes in the
- 8:18fuselage. OK, yeah, interesting.
- 8:20So it really snowballed then. Yes.
- 8:23In 1995, he got turned down by more than 30 studios for this
- 8:29idea for Venom, as he was calling it at the time.
- 8:32And then eventually MTV in Paramount showed that they were
- 8:35interested, but New Line Cinema got the rights for production.
- 8:40OK, so that's where they went with that.
- 8:42Ronnie Yu, we've talked about him on this show a couple of
- 8:45times. He was originally set to be the
- 8:46director. Man, he feels like he would be
- 8:48perfect for this. Freddy versus Jason.
- 8:53Brad Chucky, Yeah. Yeah, He, he, I was kind of
- 8:56disappointed myself when I saw that it could have been, but I'm
- 9:00still happy with the product we got, which we'll get into that.
- 9:03Yeah. So Sam Jackson signed on to this
- 9:06without reading the script, really just based on when they
- 9:10changed the working title to Snakes on a Plane based on
- 9:13Ronnie. You as the director in based on
- 9:17the story. So title, director, story, that
- 9:20was all he had. He didn't have a scripture or
- 9:22anything and he signed on to it. And New Line did not believe
- 9:25that. They actually had to call his
- 9:27agent to confirm that he was signed on to this movie.
- 9:30And I have a quote from him about why he signed on to it.
- 9:34OK, good. I'm glad that there's a reason
- 9:35because I was going to just speculate.
- 9:37Yeah, he would later because this obviously there was so much
- 9:40buzz about this online, a lot of people were questioning why he
- 9:43would be in a movie like this since it's very much like AB
- 9:46type type of movie. He said it's the kind of movie I
- 9:48would have gone to see when I was a kid.
- 9:50I feel sorry for all those people that are going through
- 9:52that whole trip of why would Sam Jackson do something like this?
- 9:55And it's lowbrow. It's a movie.
- 9:57People go to movies on Saturday to get away from the war in Iraq
- 10:00and taxes and election news and pedophiles online and just go
- 10:03and have some fun. And I like doing movies that are
- 10:05fun. Wow, yeah, good man.
- 10:08I love. That my love of Samuel L
- 10:10Jackson. I mean, that was kind of what I
- 10:12was going to imagine is the case.
- 10:14Like it's probably a lot different than a lot of shit
- 10:16that it's done, and it seems like it would just be fun.
- 10:19Yeah, yeah. And I like that.
- 10:21He just likes to have fun. This is this is the importance
- 10:24of art is it's just fun. It can be fun, yes.
- 10:28Doesn't it have to be highbrow? Doesn't it have to be like super
- 10:31artsy shit all the time? I love like just dumb fun.
- 10:34And remember how I said they changed the working title?
- 10:37You know, a lot of times working titles aren't the same as the
- 10:40final title. Yeah.
- 10:41So they had changed the working title to Snakes on a Plane.
- 10:43The official title is gonna be Pacific Air Flight 1 21 and Sam
- 10:48Jackson convinced them to change it back.
- 10:50Yeah, Sticks on a plane is so much better.
- 10:52Come on, that other title is so fucking boring.
- 10:55I would skip that nine times out soon.
- 10:57This movie actually finished wrapping in wrapped production
- 11:01in September 2005, but they did reshoots in March 2006.
- 11:06It is time to increase the rating from a PG13 to an R.
- 11:10Man that's so cool. I love it when it's the
- 11:12opposite. Wow, this movie keeps surprising
- 11:14me. And I've got to again.
- 11:16I have to read another quote by Sam Jackson on this.
- 11:22He told GQ, and this is in a 2024 interview, so fairly
- 11:26recent. They're trying to make APG 13
- 11:28movie and you can only have one fuck or some shit like that now.
- 11:31And I told them, look, I got to say, motherfucker, in this
- 11:33movie, there's motherfucking snakes all over this place.
- 11:37Wait, so does that mean did he come up with that line at the
- 11:40end? I guess so.
- 11:41I feel like he had to. I mean, you can't cast him.
- 11:44I mean, I guess OK, Marvel proves otherwise.
- 11:46You can cast him and he doesn't have to say motherfucker all
- 11:48over the place. But that's Marvel money.
- 11:50Yes. I think if I'm getting paid
- 11:51Marvel money you can convinced me not to cuss like that too
- 11:54but. If I'm signing on the Snakes on
- 11:56a Plane and I'm giving this all of the B movie spirit it
- 11:59deserves and I'm Samuel L motherfucking Jackson.
- 12:02You gotta have a man, let him do his thing.
- 12:04That's the whole point. Wow, that's crazy.
- 12:07And I've got one more fun fact. OK, so I'm mostly gonna read
- 12:12this directly from the Wikipedia just because there's a lot of
- 12:15technical information and I do not want to mess this up, OK?
- 12:18More than 450 snakes were used for filming, representing 30
- 12:22different species. The different species include a
- 12:2619 foot Burmese Python named Kitty, which the crew called
- 12:29Kong for film purposes, scarlet king snake, milk snake, corn
- 12:34snake, rattlesnakes and mangrove snakes.
- 12:36The Scarlet King snake and a Pueblan milk snake stood in for
- 12:40coral snakes, which are venomous.
- 12:43These all sound fake. I'm just gonna like milk Snake.
- 12:46That sounds like Charlie. Milk Snake, Let's see, those
- 12:53stood in for the coral snakes. The Eastern milk snake and the
- 12:55Florida king snake filled in the roles for a venomous Australian
- 12:59taipan, which is the type of snake that attacks the couple
- 13:03having sex and the man using the bathroom.
- 13:06Okay, so those are the penis snakes basically.
- 13:09They go for the Dick. About 2/3 of the snakes seen
- 13:13throughout the film are either animatronic or CGI.
- 13:16The snakes that were real were mostly the non venomous ones
- 13:19that are never seen attacking anyone.
- 13:21Scenes where someone is clearly bitten are often done with a mix
- 13:23of animatronic and animation. According to the DVD, all the
- 13:27snakes had production names, but only Scarface, an animated
- 13:31animated pit Viper, Peanut, a cobra, and Kong are mentioned by
- 13:36name in the audio commentary during filming.
- 13:39During filming, Jackson did not interact with any live snakes
- 13:43due to a contract clause preventing snakes from being
- 13:45within 25 feet of the actor. That's kind of crazy like that
- 13:48you signed on to this movie. Like, Oh yeah, I'll be all over
- 13:50that, but I'm not going to be around any snakes.
- 13:52He knew the movie he wanted to make and he knew how he wanted
- 13:55to make it. I respect it.
- 13:57I guess he's also like, we're now in 2006, you can just
- 14:00animate that shit. I don't care if it looks bad
- 14:02that you can just not make me around them.
- 14:04Yes, yes, absolutely. Tony Todd would never the man
- 14:08that like swallowed. Yeah, you would have.
- 14:11You know what? I respect both of their both
- 14:15their hustles for their movies. I do too.
- 14:17I do too, yeah. OK, so that is that's the gist
- 14:22of my fun facts. That was cool that that was a
- 14:24lot of cool stuff. Yeah, like I said, those are, I
- 14:27told you when I was looking all of this stuff, I was like, these
- 14:29are actual fun facts today. I'm still just like surprised
- 14:32that this movie was in the oven for like over 10 years.
- 14:35That's fucking crazy to me man I love.
- 14:38That you know what? Like, never let go of your silly
- 14:41idea because it could become. Cuz maybe someday Samuel L
- 14:44Jackson will sign on. Exactly.
- 14:46Exactly. All right.
- 14:48So now that we've gone through all of that, it's time for good,
- 14:52bad, ugly and absurd. Travis, you go ahead and kick it
- 14:55off because I've been talking for about 15 minutes.
- 14:58OK, my turn. All right.
- 15:00Yeah, So the good stuff. There's a lot of good stuff for
- 15:02me with this movie. So right off the bat we already
- 15:05kind of talked about it, but the cast is fucking fantastic.
- 15:08Oh my God, it's phenomenal. It's a good cast for what
- 15:11they're trying to do. They're doing like action award
- 15:13comedy and they brought in the right people for each of those
- 15:16aspects. And I, I couldn't even get all
- 15:18of the big names on there. Yeah, I didn't even get a chance
- 15:21to talk about David Keckner. My God, I forgot David Keckner's
- 15:24there too. Yeah, yeah, David Keckner and
- 15:27Keenan are great at their the comedic bits right there.
- 15:30Yeah, Sam Jackson is good at his action stuff right there.
- 15:34The horror. I guess this stinks.
- 15:36They they cast snakes pretty well for the horror right there.
- 15:39I mean, none of the like the real, like human casts are like
- 15:42there for the horror. I don't think.
- 15:43Not even Lynn Shea, although she does die.
- 15:46Yeah, she sacrifices herself. Yeah, for another nameless plain
- 15:49baby. Yeah, Elena.
- 15:52Oh yeah, yeah, we got Dom and his his mistress.
- 15:55His baby Mama, well, I don't. I don't know if Mistress is the
- 15:58right word, because he did not know that he was alive.
- 16:01That is true. That's true, yeah.
- 16:03And OK, so, and despite the silliness of this movie, I think
- 16:08everybody gave it their all. They actually treated this
- 16:12seriously as an actor. And I I appreciate that because
- 16:16I feel like some people would look down at this type of movie
- 16:20or they would like, sign on to it and kind of phone it in.
- 16:23But these people actually took the job seriously and they all
- 16:27delivered really good performances.
- 16:29We talk about this a lot on the show, and this also comes up
- 16:32with Hang with Me. This comes up with some Muppet
- 16:36discourse I was reading online last.
- 16:38Night. Wow, how are we you?
- 16:39Know how we talked about with camp and B movies?
- 16:43Like, you either have to really lean into it or you have to
- 16:45treat it completely seriously. Yeah, so they're talking about
- 16:48in The Muppets Christmas Carol, Michael Caine treats.
- 16:54Michael. The Muppets, like they're like
- 16:57elite level actors alongside him.
- 16:59But in Muppets Treasure Island, Tim Curry treats himself as
- 17:02though he too is a Muppet. And both work, but they are
- 17:07completely different approaches to it and they are perfect for
- 17:10the movies. And it's the same thing.
- 17:13This is the Michael Caine approach.
- 17:15Damn, that. That was a weird way to weave
- 17:16that into this right here. But I guess it works.
- 17:19Yeah, it fits. Yeah, I guess it fits pretty
- 17:21well. And I guess, you know, speaking
- 17:23the campy, like the thing about this is it leans into it and it
- 17:26knows what it was and it doesn't shy away from it.
- 17:28I think a lot of, I mean, this movie came before Piranha 3D,
- 17:31but I feel like it kind of set the tone for that type of movie
- 17:33right there. Yeah.
- 17:34It's like a creature feature where it's not serious at all.
- 17:37It's fun, but it still has like the horror moments and it still
- 17:39has like the the good moments. Like it, it takes itself
- 17:42seriously, but it has fun along the way.
- 17:45Oh yeah. Also the I think that they do a
- 17:47good job keeping the deaths varied considering they're all
- 17:50on a plane and they're all being and killed by snakes.
- 17:53But everything is pretty unique. I mean we have like a lot of
- 17:56crazy shit. Like the dude gets eaten by a
- 17:58fucking Python. How the fuck does that happen on
- 18:00a on a plane? That was instant and well
- 18:03deserved karma. That was yeah, that was so good.
- 18:06Yeah, like you have a fantastic moment like that, but then you
- 18:08also have the brothers. You've Curtis and Tommy, and
- 18:11Curtis is just trying to be the best Big Brother in the world.
- 18:14And he's like, so like every oldest child has this moment
- 18:19where something happens to the younger sibling.
- 18:21And even though you're not directly responsible for it,
- 18:24because you are responsible for the child, you're like, Oh my
- 18:27God. Oh.
- 18:28My God, mom and dad's gonna be so mad Trouble.
- 18:32Which, let me tell you, my little sister had this habit of
- 18:34dislocating her elbow when she was younger.
- 18:36And the first time it happened, we were alone in the living room
- 18:40together and I was like, I didn't do anything.
- 18:43That's a horror movie right there.
- 18:44Yeah, also one of the other ones I thought was really cool, like
- 18:48when they cause a Stampede, this one woman like stomps this
- 18:51dude's head with her heel and her heel breaks off in his head
- 18:53and it just stays launched in there in his.
- 18:55Ear. Oh yeah, God damn.
- 18:58And that's true too, like the the crush that comes with the
- 19:01panic like that. Yeah, yeah, nobody.
- 19:04Manners go out the window when tragedy happens.
- 19:07That's it for my good stuff right there.
- 19:09OK. I agree with everything you
- 19:11said. And I also want to add that the
- 19:13storyline because this I saw this for the first time like in
- 19:17August. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:18And I can't believe I spent 19 years of this movie existing in
- 19:24the world without having watched it, because I love it.
- 19:28And I am shocked at how, you know what, I'm just gonna how
- 19:34sophisticated the storyline is. It's a mob plot.
- 19:36I did not expect that to be a piece of it.
- 19:40The funny thing is, it's sophisticated, but it's also
- 19:42fucking silly. It is like it it's.
- 19:45Too, too much has to go exactly right for this to happen, but I
- 19:49love the fact that this is like a mob hit.
- 19:51It's cartoonish because the guy is like, he's like a fucking
- 19:54crime Lord and like immediately you don't have any back story
- 19:57with him, but it's like you get the idea.
- 19:59He controls everything. He can do whatever the fuck he
- 20:01wants. He's over.
- 20:02He's one of those guys. This is like practicing karate
- 20:04and this like fucking mansion and.
- 20:06Yeah, but that's what I was gonna say.
- 20:08Like mob movies and Kung Fu movies are always so incredibly
- 20:11outsized. So I like that we're using that
- 20:14inspiration and. Yeah, I like it too if it's.
- 20:16Yeah. And yeah, again, I just, the
- 20:20cast is great, the performances are great.
- 20:23It keeps itself, yes, it's funny and it keeps itself interesting
- 20:28the whole time. And that bit at the end, because
- 20:30like, we know that like 3GS and Troy, like they go way back to
- 20:34when they were younger. And like, Troy finally, like,
- 20:36slapped some sense back into him, calls him clearance.
- 20:40And then he like, kind of returns to the favor.
- 20:42He's like, hey, man, you've been waiting for this opportunity.
- 20:44And we're like, oh shit, like Kenanson, learn how to fly
- 20:47planes. And then we find out it's on
- 20:49PlayStation 2 Flight Simulator. I'm going to just say that shit
- 20:53is fucking detailed. Oh, it is.
- 20:55People do that stuff and like it is like, I don't know if you've
- 20:58ever seen, but some people build whole fucking rigs where they
- 21:02just actually pretend like they are flying planes.
- 21:04They treat it dead serious. I've seen like actual flight
- 21:07simulators and those are pretty intense.
- 21:09I I kind of doubt that that's what Keenan has, but maybe.
- 21:12No, he's using a fucking PlayStation.
- 21:13Yeah, but he knows the buttons. He knows what to do, I guess you
- 21:16know. All right, bad.
- 21:19OK, this is a tough one for me because this is one of those
- 21:22movies that like, I it's hard to excuse what's intentional or
- 21:28what is like truly bad. I don't really think that
- 21:31there's anything too bad really for me in this movie, like like
- 21:36some people would probably complain about the fake snakes
- 21:39and stuff like that. And it's a product of it's time
- 21:42with that, with the CG not really holding up as well as it
- 21:45does today. But I don't think it looks bad.
- 21:48And even then it's, it's like a fucking like B movie where it's
- 21:52supposed to I guess be intentionally goofy, you know?
- 21:57Listen, once you've seen Langoliers.
- 22:01All. CGI looks good.
- 22:03That is actually a very great point.
- 22:05Lingoliers is the worst of the worst.
- 22:08Lingoliers is my oof barometer. Also dealing with planes.
- 22:14Also yes. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:16Like it's just a tough one, man. It's like if you don't like that
- 22:19type of thing, you're not going to like this.
- 22:20But if you can roll with like the like the intentional or like
- 22:24just like the little goofiness, you know, like it just kind of
- 22:26comes with the territory with these types of movies.
- 22:29So like, I mean cheesy too. Like it's like super fucking
- 22:32cheesy. And that's going to drive some
- 22:34people away. But I love that.
- 22:37So it's not a knock for me. Yeah, I was going to say my, my
- 22:41bad for this is not even necessarily a bad because I this
- 22:45is really an ensemble cast. It it does make it kind of
- 22:51really hard to follow along with the characters though and get
- 22:55emotionally attached to. It's hard to figure out who
- 23:00you're supposed to be like connecting.
- 23:02To I guess that's true because like Sean, he's supposed to be
- 23:05like our main character, but he kind of takes like the back seat
- 23:07for most of the movie. And yeah, he's just.
- 23:10Is he really supposed to be? I guess Sam Jackson's probably
- 23:12be the main character. Yeah, but he's.
- 23:14He's like, supposed to be a main character.
- 23:16And I Yeah. I.
- 23:17Just and and Claire, I feel like we get the most like back story
- 23:20about her. This is her last flight.
- 23:22She's going to go be a lawyer. And yeah, you know, she was a
- 23:25nice calm fight. Like we, we get those moments.
- 23:28Like we get the newly couple and the guy's afraid of flying, but
- 23:31he only did it because that's where his wife wanted to go for
- 23:34their heart. Like we have those sweet
- 23:35moments, but then like, it doesn't like they die so quickly
- 23:40or like the mom, like we don't know what her story is.
- 23:44It feels like maybe there is some sort of an endearing back
- 23:47story for her. We know.
- 23:48What her story is just it's fast and furious right now.
- 23:50She's flying over there. She's trying to find Dawn so she
- 23:53can so her baby can have a name. This is right now.
- 23:57What is happening is Cipher is luring her away to kidnap her
- 24:00and then use her as bait for Dom.
- 24:02That's what's happening right here.
- 24:03That's that's how how Eddie Kim got a hold of all these snakes.
- 24:06Cypher helped it. Makes all kinds of sense.
- 24:10Yeah. So I think that's my main thing
- 24:12is that it's just there are so many people, which feels
- 24:16realistic. And I like that we have this big
- 24:18of an ensemble, but I do feel like we need to have tears of
- 24:22how important people are. OK, so that that's probably the
- 24:26yeah, that's probably my only real knock against it, OK.
- 24:30Ugly ugly. Is that asshole dude sacrificing
- 24:33the dog? Yeah, for no fucking.
- 24:35Reason I just don't like I I get it.
- 24:38Also the fucking cat gets killed too by the snakes like I I.
- 24:42Which shout out to be be the cat who refused to watch this with
- 24:50our friend Kendra. And when we were watching this
- 24:54last night, I was like, This is why B didn't want to watch this
- 24:56movie because as soon as the snakes appear, they eat a cat.
- 24:59Yeah, our cats, our cats like cat on or cat violence.
- 25:02So like, they they were totally, yeah, they were totally on board
- 25:05with that. Oh, cool.
- 25:06Yeah. And it's like us when we see
- 25:07people die, like, oh, hell yeah. We're rooting for the snakes.
- 25:12OK, OK. Is this you?
- 25:14Just is that your Stew? Yeah, like the that was, we
- 25:19really didn't need that. No, we really didn't need that.
- 25:21Also, like again, and I know her character is named Maria in this
- 25:25movie, but she's just Elena. That's just who she is to me,
- 25:29her saving the little boy and then watching Lynn Shea die.
- 25:32I mean like. Bye, bye, bye.
- 25:35Yeah, I'm like Lynn Shay was like sitting there.
- 25:37She's like, I should have retired.
- 25:41I had to do one more flight. And then she's like, well, you
- 25:44were here for a reason. You saved my baby.
- 25:48Yep, like just like takes her like fingers and like shuts her
- 25:52eyelids. Like bye bye.
- 25:56She really didn't try to help anyone else.
- 25:59Yeah, just like a little like slap on the face.
- 26:01She's like, thanks champ, it's. That meme of like the high
- 26:06fiving somebody that's drowning, Yeah.
- 26:09Yeah, OK, absurd stuff. Yes.
- 26:13Keenan's chin strap is bad luck my man.
- 26:18I'm glad that he did not keep that around.
- 26:20I feel like we've talked about this privately between the two
- 26:23of us, but there was a time where chubby men were utilizing
- 26:27the chin strap to try and give their face.
- 26:30The chin strap I think has gone away.
- 26:32Some people still go for it and some people still cling to that
- 26:36to distinguish their chins. But yeah, it's just especially
- 26:40for him, not a good look. And I'm not being judgmental
- 26:43about body size. I'm just saying that seems to
- 26:45have been the primary people doing it.
- 26:48Yes, yes. And also a two-story plane.
- 26:53Is this a thing? I've never flown a plane on a
- 26:56plane before. Just to be clear, I've never.
- 26:59Is this fucking real? Like 2 stories for a plane?
- 27:03That's insane. The last time I was on a plane I
- 27:07was an unaccompanied minor with a younger unaccompanied minor
- 27:11that I had to make sure I didn't get bit by a snake and die.
- 27:13So OK. I take it y'all were in first
- 27:15class? No, that's right upstairs,
- 27:17apparently. We were in like the front row
- 27:20like so that way we could be the first to get off the plane but.
- 27:24This might be a thing, I don't know.
- 27:26Like it's just that's insane to me that that like I've never
- 27:30seen that in any like actual footage of people on planes
- 27:33before. I've only seen it in movies.
- 27:34I feel like for me, the size of planes and the size of cruise
- 27:38ships, they're just things I've accepted that I have no way of
- 27:42grasping. Yeah, beyond scope right here.
- 27:44That's actually a good point. Planes are fucking massive.
- 27:46Yeah, yeah, absolutely. All right, what's your obserd?
- 27:49OK, so much like Kurt Russell as the cool factor to be able to
- 27:55pull off a line like Virgin Pina Colada, only Samuel L Jackson
- 28:02could get the least Samuel L Jackson character name, Neville
- 28:05Flynn, and still be a cool motherfucker.
- 28:09Yeah, that's that was like. Give that to any other actor and
- 28:12he's going to seem like a dork. Yeah, it is a kind of a nerdy
- 28:16name right there. That's that's like some like
- 28:18that's what you would expect a professor to be named or
- 28:20something. Like that.
- 28:20Yeah. Yeah.
- 28:21Neville Flynn. Neville Flynn.
- 28:25OK. We're ready to rate it.
- 28:27We're ready to rate it. OK, man, this movie is so much
- 28:30fun. I love this movie.
- 28:32This. It was actually my first time
- 28:33watching it in full. Whenever you watched it too.
- 28:35I'd seen all kinds of like snippets of it here and there,
- 28:37but I'd never like sat down and watched the full thing.
- 28:40It comes together so well. Eight and a.
- 28:43Half 8 1/2. Yeah.
- 28:47I'm going to give it a 10/10. I love it.
- 28:50I love it. I'm not going to lie, you might
- 28:52be able to. All the itches.
- 28:53You might be able to, like, get me up there with you.
- 28:56Really. It's not going to be that hard.
- 28:58I just love this movie. It's so fucking fun. 10, That's
- 29:02fucking crazy. I had to fight to get you final
- 29:06destination of the 10 mistakes on the plane.
- 29:08You're like 1010. Classic.
- 29:10Yeah. Masterpiece.
- 29:12Listen, I eventually got out there.
- 29:13You did? Yeah, OK.
- 29:16So you have a starting average of 9.25. 92510 that's fucking
- 29:20high for this. It deserves it, yeah.
- 29:24We're saying what we're saying. Yeah, we're brave enough to say
- 29:27this. That's right.
- 29:28People are saying, and we're those.
- 29:30People. Yeah, we're the people.
- 29:31All right, let's get into it, OK.
- 29:34We start off with some music that just feels very John Mayer,
- 29:39Jack Johnson. It's like quiet, I don't know.
- 29:43No, it's. It's chill.
- 29:46Yeah, it's chill. It's a We are it.
- 29:48Invokes a certain type of person, and Sean fits that type
- 29:52of. Person.
- 29:52Yeah, exactly. Yeah, He's dirt biking.
- 29:54He's out there like, you know, it's Hawaii.
- 29:57He's just, I don't know, he's just out there dirt biking along
- 29:59Hawaii and he's got to stop for his Red Bull break because Red
- 30:03Bull is, you know, the extreme sport people, apparently.
- 30:07It gives you wings. Travis it.
- 30:09Does, apparently, yeah. So he finds somebody in a trap,
- 30:15and he's not nearly freaked out enough by this.
- 30:17But it's hanging upside down from train tracks or no bridge.
- 30:21And it's no, no, it's train tracks.
- 30:23Yeah. And yeah, like he's just like,
- 30:25hey, man, what's wrong with you? It's just like.
- 30:28He's like, you've got to go. Yeah, like either help him or
- 30:31get the fuck out of there. So it's a prosecutor.
- 30:33His name's Jim Hayes and he is going after Eddie Kim.
- 30:38Eddie Kim is a mafioso, mob guy, whatever, and so him and his
- 30:43people are there. Eddie Kim beats him with a
- 30:47baseball bat while he's upside down like pinatas.
- 30:49Yeah, it's Pinata. Yeah, it is violent.
- 30:52Yeah, Eddie Kim don't play nice. I That's how you become a crime
- 30:56boss. He's going back to LA and he
- 30:59sends his goons after Sean because they because you can't
- 31:03quietly get away on a dirt bike. He, he should have just fucking
- 31:08waited, you know, like they were.
- 31:10As soon as the train was going to come by, they were going to
- 31:12bail and they would have never seen him.
- 31:14He could have just hidden in the fucking weeds.
- 31:16And these people are very good at tracking him.
- 31:19And by very good at tracking him, I mean they can hear his
- 31:22dirt bike always because. I don't know.
- 31:25See, this is the thing about the movie.
- 31:26It doesn't. Like, it's just like it gets all
- 31:29of this done so fucking fast. Like we get Eddie Cam, we get
- 31:32the fucking prosecutor, we get the whole thing with him being
- 31:34set up and it's just like, boom, we're already into this.
- 31:37We know. Yeah, they're trying to break
- 31:39into his apartment, and he knows what's up, so he starts to climb
- 31:43out the window. Sam Jackson's there and says do
- 31:45exactly what I say and you'll live.
- 31:47And if Sam Jackson tells you that, you do that.
- 31:50Yeah. Yeah, and he's not wrong because
- 31:53he just shoots the two dudes breaking into the apartment.
- 31:55Yep. And at first you don't know.
- 31:57You don't know in this movie, is this good Sam Jackson or is this
- 32:00bad Sam Jackson? Because both versions of Sam
- 32:02Jackson, they tell you what to do or you'd lie.
- 32:05You listen to both of them. Yeah, exactly.
- 32:07But in this case, he's a good one.
- 32:10Neville Flynn, he is an FBI agent.
- 32:12He asks why Sean didn't report a murder that he witnessed.
- 32:16And he was like, well, the news said that the cops are in
- 32:19cahoots and I'm not trying to be cahooted.
- 32:21And he goes, smart kid. So he is being asked to testify.
- 32:27And he was like. And what is the guy's name?
- 32:37Jackson. Is that Flynn's partner?
- 32:39Jackson I think I think so. And it's confusing cuz of Sam
- 32:43Jackson. So he is like doing the bad cop
- 32:48part and then Flynn comes in and he's like, listen, I'm not gonna
- 32:52like, we're gonna just save time if you just agree to do this and
- 32:57we don't do the whole bullshit back and forth.
- 32:58And Sean's like, I just don't know.
- 33:00He goes, what did I just say, motherfucker?
- 33:03He's like, listen, if you can testify that you saw this, he'll
- 33:06go into jail and you'll be safe. Otherwise, you're gonna have his
- 33:08people after you for the rest of your life.
- 33:10They're already trying to kill you man.
- 33:11Like I mean, you're already fucked if you don't.
- 33:13Do this exactly like. He might as well.
- 33:17So we got to the Honolulu airport and we find out that
- 33:20it's Claire's last trip. She's leaving to go be a lawyer.
- 33:24Yeah, she's a flight attendant. Yeah, she is on a flight with
- 33:28Tiffany, Ken and Grace. Yep.
- 33:32And while all this is happening, we have Flynn and Sean who are,
- 33:37they're taking a secret plane. So they're sitting there and
- 33:40he's like, is that the plane we're going on?
- 33:41He's like, that's the plane that everybody thinks we're going on.
- 33:43They actually have a secret one that they're going to be on
- 33:45instead. Yeah, which is the flight that
- 33:48Claire's last flight and they're going to take over the whole
- 33:52first class, which means Claire gets this on her last flight,
- 33:54telling all of the first class passengers why they're in coach.
- 33:57But here's the best thing about that.
- 33:58You are on your last day so you can give it the fucking attitude
- 34:02that it deserves. If they come back at you with
- 34:04some shit, you'd come back harder.
- 34:05And that's great because the grumpy asshole that ends up
- 34:08being eaten by the Python, he was like, will I still arrive in
- 34:12on time for my meeting in LA and she goes well, as far as I'm
- 34:15concerned, coach will be arriving at the same time as
- 34:17first class. What a fucking dumb question to
- 34:20ask. What, Are you being serious?
- 34:21Yeah, and he's like, oh, does my first class membership get this
- 34:24SAS from you too? Yes, it does, yeah.
- 34:26Actually. Also, we have three cheese in
- 34:28the lobby who is greeting fans and I love this part where this
- 34:31like the little white kid comes up to and it's like, hey, stay
- 34:33black kid. It's just like, hell yeah.
- 34:37We also get a brief young K Crystal low appearance.
- 34:40More boob from her. She just pops up random movies
- 34:44all the time. Yeah, that's her job, so.
- 34:46Proud of the boobs. I love her.
- 34:49Keep doing you. We do see somebody that's like
- 34:53handling the luggage and he makes a call and he tells them
- 34:57like, oh, they're actually on this flight.
- 34:59Yeah, cuz they're being stupid here They are bringing on
- 35:02fucking dogs to the plane to just sniff it all out
- 35:05beforehand. And like, that's obvious, you
- 35:07know, like if you're gonna do that, like this guy's the dogs,
- 35:09like put them in the suitcase or something, you know, like, I
- 35:12don't know, like do something other than just like walk a
- 35:14fucking dog that has FBI on its side up into the plane.
- 35:18I'm picturing like the cat carriers we have, but extra
- 35:22large for a German shepherd. And it's just like the witch
- 35:25going, yeah. These are trained professionals,
- 35:27Jesse. They know how to handle this.
- 35:28OK? I'm sure they could be trained
- 35:30there. Like keep the fucking chill if
- 35:31they're going to be carried. This guy also is able to somehow
- 35:35inconspicuously spray a bunch of Lays with pheromones yes yes,
- 35:40which like best case scenario you see that and be like yo
- 35:43people don't want to be wearing that much deep around their
- 35:45necks. What are you doing?
- 35:46I. Mean it's got a smell too,
- 35:48right? Like you would imagine.
- 35:50I have no clue what snake pheromone smells like, and I
- 35:52don't particularly want to. Know I don't either.
- 35:55Yeah, not after this movie at least.
- 35:57Yeah, that one guy gets like an allergic reaction from it.
- 36:00Yeah, he's not having a good time.
- 36:03Let's see. Flynn calls Harris.
- 36:06Hank Harris. He got a recent promotion.
- 36:08He's not in the field anymore. He's like a big wig in an
- 36:10office. He's kind of giving them the
- 36:12business. He's like, you miss being in on
- 36:14the action, don't you? Yeah, he's over there doing eBay
- 36:16bids. Yeah, he's got eyes on Kim in
- 36:20LA. So this is about a 5 hour flight
- 36:22is what we're looking at. We see the grumpy guy who was
- 36:26supposed to be in first class. He hates dogs and babies.
- 36:30He's very annoyed to be seated near a booth.
- 36:32He's. A great guy that kill.
- 36:34In this movie, yes, we see Claire.
- 36:37She's being really kind to Curtis and Tommy.
- 36:39They're the unaccompanied minors.
- 36:41She was just making sure that she keeps a good eye on him and
- 36:43she was like, you know what? I heard three Jesus on this fly
- 36:46and they're like what? And she's like, I bet he'll sign
- 36:50something for you. Claire, you're you.
- 36:55You don't know. Yeah, that's you don't know
- 36:58again, the last say fuck it, Yeah, just tell the kids that,
- 37:00yeah. Especially, especially 'cause
- 37:02we've seen 3GS is kind of a germaphobe.
- 37:05You know who has a lot of germs? Kids.
- 37:07That's true. And dogs.
- 37:09And dogs which he is flirting with Mercedes and Mercedes is
- 37:14like, you know, all over the dog and the dog's like licking him
- 37:17and he's like. He's he's like.
- 37:20Yeah, we see Kim is talking to. Oh, Ken, not Kim.
- 37:28OK. I was like, I don't think we got
- 37:29any more Eddie Kim right now. He talks to a martial arts
- 37:33passenger like he's like, yeah, he's a.
- 37:35Kid boxer, Yeah, he tries to do it and like, hurts his back.
- 37:39Yeah, Tiffany is talking to Sean.
- 37:44This is. This is a romance.
- 37:46It feels just kind of like it's just force.
- 37:48Yeah, I don't really. Know it feels force, like it's
- 37:52not it. It almost feels like she thinks
- 37:55like he's a super big deal. And so she was like trying to
- 37:58flirt with him to figure out what's going on.
- 38:01And then like she the whole time they're talking about it, she's
- 38:03like, oh, yeah, I've heard about Eddie Kim.
- 38:05He's done this to witnesses before and this and like,
- 38:07scooped out their eyes. So what are you doing?
- 38:09And he was like, I'm testifying for the prosecution.
- 38:13Would you not imagine though, like he, he would probably, he
- 38:17would probably be advised to not talk about that, but he's so
- 38:20loose lipped about the whole thing.
- 38:22I the. Dude will probably get on the
- 38:24fucking PA and be like, yo, so this is Sean listening up,
- 38:27everybody. I'm testifying against Eddie
- 38:29Kim. You know, a big crime guy here.
- 38:32I'm a big deal. I drink Red Bull, I do dirt
- 38:35bikes, surfing. Bali.
- 38:38Yeah. So Flynn and Sean talk about
- 38:43Bali, actually speaking in surfing, because Sean's a big
- 38:46surfer. He was like making this plan to
- 38:47go to Bali and Flynn's like, you know, I tried surfing once, but
- 38:51I'd rather spend my time on the beach, you know, just enjoying
- 38:54the sun and the ladies and Sean calls him out and says you can
- 38:59see on the border you could shoot.
- 39:00He's no not one bit I. Like they call this bullshit
- 39:02there. Yeah, well, I have to imagine
- 39:05surfing is really difficult. Yeah, I've never tried it but.
- 39:09I can I can barely like wakeboard.
- 39:12You can bare, you can't even skateboard.
- 39:14You have to like, sit down on your butt.
- 39:16Water is different than concrete.
- 39:19That's true. That's true.
- 39:20I mean concrete do not get along well.
- 39:23And it doesn't get along with most people.
- 39:24Yeah. So this is where we see the the
- 39:28pheromones are being unleashed. Yeah, the like it was on a timer
- 39:31and all of a sudden they just like.
- 39:33So the snakes start going crazy in the cabin.
- 39:36Yeah, it's, well, it's not a timer that releases the
- 39:38pheromones, it's a timer that releases the snakes like they're
- 39:40in. This little.
- 39:42Crate thing and it unlocks and the snakes come out and good kid
- 39:47cat. Yep, while that's going on we
- 39:49got a horny couple that go to the bathroom to do the mile hot
- 39:53cookie then smoke some weed. Yeah, they did the two things
- 39:56that they were explicitly told not to do in the bathroom during
- 39:59the pre flight safety presentation.
- 40:02I just kept thinking of pieces like there's nothing better than
- 40:04smoking weed and fucking on a waterbed.
- 40:07Except in this case, it's a bathroom.
- 40:09Yeah, it's and those lavatories are small like that would be
- 40:12like trying to have sex in a porta potty.
- 40:15Gross The. Price smells about the same,
- 40:17too. Yeah.
- 40:17Nasty. I can't.
- 40:19Yeah. That was a whole freaking point
- 40:21in the beginning of Final Destination.
- 40:24Yeah. You don't want to poop it up.
- 40:25Yeah. Don't want to poop it up.
- 40:27You know that the people that are right near it can sell the
- 40:29weed too. That's true.
- 40:30Yeah. They don't give a fuck.
- 40:31They. Really don't give a fuck on this
- 40:33fight. Yeah, but the you know what?
- 40:34It doesn't matter anyway. Because the snakes are some cock
- 40:37blocks. Yeah, they they get them.
- 40:39They get them while. They're fucking in them.
- 40:42I mean at. Least they went out having, you
- 40:45know, doing what they love. Yeah.
- 40:46And. The flight attendants Grace and.
- 40:48Ken are outside and they hear what's going on and they're just
- 40:51kind of like, good for them. And then it stops abruptly and
- 40:54she goes, well, he's not that good, Yeah.
- 40:57So the snakes make their way into the main cabin area, and
- 41:01they're just kind of Slytherin along getting close to people.
- 41:03We're just getting all these shots of everybody getting close
- 41:05to getting. Oh, yeah, this is one of those.
- 41:07Great. Moments because you know
- 41:10something's gonna happen that's gonna start the panic, and you
- 41:13just don't know which part it is.
- 41:15Well, the dog. Little tiny dog there.
- 41:17Is Mary Kate? Yeah, Mary Kate warn people
- 41:19like, hey, Snake right here. She's trying to tell mom and mom
- 41:22she's like O3GS. The problem is that Mary Kate
- 41:26is. A tiny dog and tiny dogs bark
- 41:30all the fucking time. That's true.
- 41:31That is true. It's it'd.
- 41:33Be like cried snake. Yeah, it'd be like.
- 41:35If Zoe was. Meowing because there's a snake.
- 41:38We'd be like Zoe, it's not dinner time.
- 41:39Yeah, if Zoe started meowing like crazy at.
- 41:41Around 7:00 I'd be like, Joey, shut the fuck up, calm down, 30
- 41:46fucking. Minutes.
- 41:46I'd be like Randy. Like 30 minutes, Paul so.
- 41:52We also see snakes in the electric board of the plane and
- 41:55they start knocking things offline.
- 41:57So the pilot and Rick. I didn't get the pilot's name.
- 41:59I got Rick's name. I didn't get the pilot's name
- 42:02either. Yeah.
- 42:03The main pilot, Yeah. Yeah, we see.
- 42:06The guy in the other laboratory is peeing and he let me ask you
- 42:12a question because I do not have a penis, OK and you do I I'm
- 42:15happy to answer it. I'm.
- 42:17I'm sorry you don't want me. To share that private medical
- 42:19information on the podcast, feel free to cut if you want to.
- 42:22Can't wait. Let's let's hear it.
- 42:24If you need. To pee and you go to the
- 42:28bathroom and you unzip your pants.
- 42:30Do you say hello big boy to your penis?
- 42:38Oh my God. I I.
- 42:40Thought you were going to say no and now I feel like you
- 42:44absolutely talk to your Dick when you pee and I am concerned.
- 42:48No, I don't talk to it. No, no, I don't talk to it.
- 42:56This is one of the songs I. Wish we didn't video because
- 42:59your face is so red. I truly believe you talk to your
- 43:02penis. No, I don't.
- 43:03You're just no. In the middle, like you're gonna
- 43:05like, I'm gonna wake up in the middle of the night and go to
- 43:07the bathroom and you're gonna like, follow me and like, you're
- 43:09just like listening on the hallway and you're just gonna
- 43:11hear like mumbling in the back. That's gonna be like a bit like.
- 43:16From Austin Powers or something. And you're actually talking to
- 43:18one of the cats? Yeah.
- 43:21Yeah, but no, I, I, I don't, I don't.
- 43:24OK, you don't. You don't say hello, big boy.
- 43:26OK, This guy is just kind of being weird here, OK?
- 43:29I just wanted to make sure this snake.
- 43:31Bites it anyway. I just like if every dude did
- 43:34that like. He imagined going to a public
- 43:35restroom. Like every time somebody goes to
- 43:37the like, you're like, hello, big boy, Hello big boy.
- 43:39I was like, dude. Hello big boy.
- 43:41Like you can like hear an echoing out into like.
- 43:43Whatever venue you're at right there.
- 43:45So hello big boy boy. OK, big bit by.
- 43:51Snake. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:52And. Yeah, apparently it's
- 43:53immediately lethal, like to have your Dick bit like that because
- 43:56he dies like right there. I mean depending on.
- 44:00How he was feeling like could be quite a bit of blood flow.
- 44:04He sounded excited. He sounded like he was about to
- 44:06do something. Hello, big boy.
- 44:08Yeah. Why is it big?
- 44:10It's swollen. Oh shit, there's a lot of venom.
- 44:14So the captain goes to check on the avionics because as we said
- 44:17before, things got knocked offline and Rick is supposed to
- 44:19hold the plane steady. He gets bit in the neck while
- 44:22he's down there, and Rick hops down to go check on him.
- 44:26Claire is aware that stuff is going haywire, so she goes to
- 44:29get Flynn and Sanders. Sanders, not Jackson.
- 44:32Sanders is the other FBI agent's name.
- 44:36And they suggest, like, just turning around and going back to
- 44:40Honolulu. And Rick says at this point,
- 44:43we're over halfway there. It'll take longer to turn around
- 44:45and get back than it will to just go to LA And so Claire or
- 44:50wait. All right, Claire gives the
- 44:53unaccompanied minors a game to distract them because at this
- 44:56point, the. The plane is flying pretty rough
- 44:58because of the avionics. And we're down an aviator and
- 45:03all of that. And the boys are scared.
- 45:04And she's like, OK, what are you going to do?
- 45:05You're going to close your eyes, count to 10 slowly.
- 45:08And then you're going to make the silliest face you can.
- 45:10And whoever last lasts last wins.
- 45:13And you're going to do best out of five.
- 45:15All right, I'm going to come back and check on you guys.
- 45:17And I want to know who the winner is.
- 45:18She's doing such a good job. She is doing a good job with the
- 45:21kids here. Yeah.
- 45:21Yeah, so. While shit's getting.
- 45:24All shaky on the plane, the oxygen masks the point and
- 45:28snakes. Are just fucking everywhere.
- 45:31They're falling with the mask and I don't I emotionally, I
- 45:35don't know if I could recover from that.
- 45:37Yeah, that would be traumatizing.
- 45:40Yeah, I don't. I don't think I'd like it.
- 45:41This is where, like the whole Stampede starts and that dude
- 45:44gets his fucking head in by a hill.
- 45:47Yeah. We see.
- 45:48Like people dying. A woman had a snake crawl up her
- 45:51dress and it bites her face. Ken takes one of the snakes and.
- 45:55He's like, what the fuck do I do?
- 45:56Yeah. Apparently it never noticed
- 45:58this, but he hits a button on the microwave that says snake.
- 46:02My God. Yeah.
- 46:03So it's just like, actually microwaves it explodes it.
- 46:05Yeah, Sanders. Is phobic so we get the word for
- 46:10snake phobia. I didn't write it down so I'm
- 46:12sorry we don't have the little. It's probably one of those
- 46:15really weird ones. Video.
- 46:16Phobia or something like that sounds.
- 46:17About right, Yeah, if you say anything.
- 46:19Confidently, people. Will believe you.
- 46:21Yeah, that's true. And so Flynn is.
- 46:24Like trying to get some, get some things under control.
- 46:28He's tasing the snakes. I love this approach.
- 46:30I mean, what else are you going to do?
- 46:32Dude? You can't shoot a.
- 46:32Gun up there and that's like his go to move.
- 46:35Probably most cases, yeah. He's trying to get the crowd to.
- 46:38Move forward. 3GS finds the couple dead in the bathroom and
- 46:44the young mom, Elena Maria, whichever name you want to call
- 46:48her for this one, she is knocked out on the floor with her baby.
- 46:52They start building a wall, like a barrier wall in the front part
- 46:58of the plane. And I don't know enough about
- 47:01how planes work. I have been to a lot of
- 47:05amusement parks, and I know certain rights have to be like,
- 47:09evenly loaded. Yeah.
- 47:10Is it safe for this much weight to be on the front part of the
- 47:13plane? I don't know, man.
- 47:15Planes are already so. Fucking heavy big yeah, probably
- 47:18doesn't make that much of a difference because I mean the
- 47:20way it is right now they already have the back loaded like that
- 47:23and all front class or first class is like just like a couple
- 47:27people yeah so it's already like that as it is yeah, I guess so I
- 47:31don't know it just. I think on smaller planes I'd
- 47:33probably be a. Bigger concern, but on like a
- 47:35fucking like actual commercial airline, probably not as much.
- 47:39I guess so. But, yeah, so they're trying to,
- 47:42they're trying to build like a barrier wall.
- 47:45Mercedes comes to. She had also been knocked out in
- 47:48the swell of people going forward, and she is surrounded
- 47:50by snakes. And then this is where the
- 47:52kickboxer, like, he is going to carry her up front, on her back.
- 47:56He's being very kind to her. And he even stops and lets her
- 48:00pick up Mary Kate. Yeah.
- 48:01And this is like the only thing that he does.
- 48:03In this movie, I know I really thought we were going to have
- 48:05more of. Him, yeah, you would think his
- 48:07kickboxing. Would kind of come into play,
- 48:09but it never does. Wish we could have seen him
- 48:10kickbox some snakes. Yeah, it would have been nice.
- 48:12I would have actually loved. That I always like one of the
- 48:15big ones, like the Anaconda or whatever.
- 48:17Kitty or Kong. Yeah, exactly.
- 48:19That would have made sense. Maria.
- 48:22Comes to also and Grace finds the baby and saves the baby from
- 48:27being bit by a snake by getting bit instead.
- 48:30In the process. Claire is trying to find Tommy
- 48:33and Curtis. Her and Flynn happened to find
- 48:37them huddled by a wall. Curtis got bit.
- 48:40That's a little Tommy I got there I think.
- 48:41Oh, Tommy. Got bit, I got their.
- 48:43Names mixed up a little bit. Yeah, the youngest 1, he got bit
- 48:47and Curtis is like, so like I tell Dad he's like.
- 48:51Probably in so much. Trouble.
- 48:52Yeah, Sanders dies. He got bit, so I guess he was
- 48:58right to have aphidiophobia. Yeah, I mean, I hate to say
- 49:02that, but I mean, some phobias exist.
- 49:05For a reason, it's OK so. This wasn't necessarily a
- 49:09phobia, but it was like a figure I always had was of home
- 49:12invasion, like a break in type of situation.
- 49:14People are afraid of that. Yeah, exactly.
- 49:16And. My apartment, my senior year of
- 49:19college, my roommate, our apartment got broken into.
- 49:21Yeah, now luckily not. Nothing.
- 49:24Like, Major happened, they let scout out and put footprints on
- 49:30the couch and stole my roommate's boyfriend's $20 bill,
- 49:34but that's about it. So not too bad.
- 49:36But anyway, I was supposed to go to group therapy on campus that
- 49:40day. Missed it because, you know, I
- 49:43had to talk to the police and whatnot.
- 49:44And the next week I told them why.
- 49:46And I was like, you know, and this is always one of my biggest
- 49:48fears. And it actually happened.
- 49:49And I was like, great, So you faced your fear and you saw that
- 49:53you can survive it. And I said no.
- 49:55I used to always tell myself it's not a realistic fear,
- 49:59people aren't constantly having their homes broken into.
- 50:01And now I know it's completely realistic because it happened to
- 50:04me. No dude, I remember that day
- 50:07like. They they entered the apartment
- 50:08after you and I walked out the door.
- 50:10That was like, right. As soon as we left, they saw
- 50:12their opportunity, like people aren't there anymore and they
- 50:14broke in. Yeah, yeah, except my.
- 50:16Roommate was there, yeah. Her boyfriend and dog.
- 50:20Yeah, when he. Was just barking.
- 50:21Through through the bedroom door and it ended up scaring the guy
- 50:25off but we didn't even know anything had happened until she
- 50:27called me to tell me that Scout was outside wet in the rain,
- 50:30scared poor Scout and also traumatized.
- 50:33Because she. Doesn't like Kelly.
- 50:37Kelly had to get her inside. That's a rough date for that
- 50:39Kitty cat right there. Anyway, that's why I'm.
- 50:43No longer in school to become a counselor because I don't do
- 50:47good advice. OK, so.
- 50:51Flynn calls Harris and he informs him of the situation,
- 50:54and they are like, OK, this must be Kim.
- 50:56This has got Kim written all over.
- 50:58Yeah. So they're planning.
- 51:00For what they need to do at LAX, he's like getting crisis
- 51:03management teams there. They're trying to get as many
- 51:06EMTs nearby, getting hospitals and ERS preps.
- 51:10And he says he wants the closest world snake expert to meet with
- 51:15him within 30 minutes. Yeah, Maria.
- 51:19Maria. Asks for some olive oil and a
- 51:22cup and she says how they used to go hiking and sometimes they
- 51:29would get bit by snakes and this is what you do.
- 51:31Use the oil to seal your mouth from the poison.
- 51:35She used her earring to cut little Tommy's snake bite and
- 51:39she sucked the poison out and spit it into the cup.
- 51:41That was like one of the funny things right there cuz like.
- 51:43It's before they can. It was like saying the same
- 51:45thing to one of three G's guys. It's like, it's OK.
- 51:48Like, are you suck? Right.
- 51:49OK, yeah. He's like I it's.
- 51:51OK, I can suck the. Poison.
- 51:52And he's like, and he got bit in the butt and he's like, I am
- 51:55null and you suck poison out of my butt.
- 51:57Yeah, and. So we do this, the little boy, I
- 52:01mean, he's not like he still needs medical treatment, but at
- 52:03least, you know, it helped at least.
- 52:05Yeah, it helps probably save the life.
- 52:07And Grace is sitting there going, man, it sure is a shame
- 52:11that I was bit and I'm going to die.
- 52:12And Maria's, like, I know, right?
- 52:13But you see my baby, Yeah. Like nobody's going to suck.
- 52:17Out of your back, it's what's your shoulder?
- 52:20Yeah. Yeah, not.
- 52:22Not cool. It's like bye, it's.
- 52:25Like, I don't consent to that, Yeah.
- 52:29So. Flynn tells Sean to stay by the
- 52:32phone because Sean, he's going to go downstairs and help.
- 52:34And he's like, listen, if we don't get you there alive, all
- 52:38of this, all of this is for nothing because he's trying to
- 52:41kill you right now. And we don't want that to
- 52:43happen. Plenty of other people have
- 52:45died. I'm sure this is helping your
- 52:46guilt right now, Sean. So no, you can't go down and
- 52:48help people. Stay up here by the phone,
- 52:50buddy. You got a hall pass.
- 52:51You can sit back. You're good.
- 52:53Yeah. So they.
- 52:54Find Harris's team finds a snake expert, Doctor Price.
- 52:58He is often consulted for like exotic animal smuggling cases
- 53:03with customs. And he says that like the local
- 53:07ERS are only going to be mildly equipped and all Ers and anti
- 53:14venoms, they, they, they need to mobilize.
- 53:18They're going to need to get as many people there as possible.
- 53:22And they're gonna need to figure out as many anti venoms as they
- 53:25can. And we're gonna also have to
- 53:28contact poison control. But we need to figure out what
- 53:30snakes are on the planes. That way we can get the right
- 53:32anti venoms because you can't just like guess they also
- 53:35realize that it could be. Delays that are causing them to
- 53:38react Yeah cuz you said it like for them to be.
- 53:41This agitated like they would need to be like provoked in some
- 53:45way or like me driven crazy by a pheromone.
- 53:48They're only like defensive. They don't like actually.
- 53:50Attack you unless you they feel threatened so yeah yeah.
- 53:53And so they call Flynn and. Tell him that he needs to ID the
- 53:56snakes and he's like, I'm not very good at any cuz.
- 53:58Well, you need to figure out a way.
- 53:59Time is tissue. And so he Flynn goes downstairs
- 54:05and he rouses the mob. And this is a great moment.
- 54:08Reminiscent of deep blue sea, except Sam Jackson doesn't get
- 54:11eaten by a shark after he gives his like, let's all come
- 54:13together speech. Dude, if you got eaten by a
- 54:15shark right here, that's got to be awesome.
- 54:17He would actually be on. Board with that we've.
- 54:20Got Deep Blue Sea and Sam Jackson.
- 54:21'S in that and people are like, man, why would Sam Jackson pee
- 54:23and snakes on a plane? Because he's Sam motherfucking
- 54:26Jackson, that's why. So Rick gets bit the the pilot.
- 54:33Dave Keckner. Yeah, Dave Keckner.
- 54:35Mercedes offers her phone because this is 2006, and not
- 54:39everybody has, like, phones with Internet and e-mail and camera
- 54:42and whatnot on it. Yeah.
- 54:44And because they're trying to explain the snakes to Doctor
- 54:47Price and they're like, oh, pictures would be a lot more
- 54:50accurate. Yeah.
- 54:50They're just like describing colors.
- 54:51And that's kind of hard to do when you're just identifying a
- 54:53snake. Yeah.
- 54:54And especially like people. Are arguing about what different
- 54:57shades of blue are and stuff like that.
- 55:00Can you imagine me in this situation?
- 55:01Oh yeah, you'd be worthless here.
- 55:02I'm sorry. I mean I can help with the
- 55:04bright colored ones. I guess it's true, yeah.
- 55:07So. This.
- 55:08Is where the barrier wall gets knocked over like it falls down.
- 55:14The point's starting to tilt a little bit, too, because Rick.
- 55:16Has been. He's been bitten.
- 55:17Yeah, he's. Not doing super awesome.
- 55:20Sean comes down and he is just trying to help people, get them
- 55:25upstairs by the orders, while Flynn and Claire are helping
- 55:29Rick. There's still so many passengers
- 55:32on this plane, right? And they're all trying to get
- 55:33upstairs, and it knocks down the banisters.
- 55:37People are falling off the stairwell.
- 55:38Oh, dude. They just were like more
- 55:40inventive deaths, like. One dude fell off and got
- 55:42fucking like he he got one of them.
- 55:46I'm trying to think of the and stabbed, yes.
- 55:49Impelled. Yeah, it went.
- 55:52It went right through him. Sometimes I really.
- 55:54Wish we were a video. Podcast, I'm like taking my
- 55:57hand. I'm just like.
- 55:58Going up. Like it just.
- 55:59He went up. Yeah, if he went up.
- 56:03You're right. You're right, honey.
- 56:04Yeah, he died. Yeah, yeah, this.
- 56:07Is like this is again, it's some final destination shit, right?
- 56:10It really is. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:12That we see the newlyweds. There's some of the people that
- 56:15end up dying. There is a snake that has been
- 56:18in this overhead light. And this is a nice attention to
- 56:22detail because that's the type like I'm gonna say something
- 56:25really goes. Have you ever seen the
- 56:27appliances where like the roaches get inside and then
- 56:29they're just like crawling across the screens?
- 56:32No, I've not seen that. OK.
- 56:33Well, it's a thing that happens. And that's the type of thing
- 56:37that you would expect to happen in the situation, like the
- 56:39snakes get into like weird little nooks and crannies.
- 56:42And that's where Kitty or Kong, depending on what you want to
- 56:45call her, that's where the Anaconda is, is in one of those
- 56:47lights. Is she she a big girl?
- 56:50Yeah, she's a big girl. Yeah.
- 56:53She breaks the light and it falls down on people.
- 56:55So between the Anaconda and the glass, people are dying.
- 56:59From that. We get the grumpy old British
- 57:01man who for no reason, just grabs Mary Kate and throws her
- 57:05at a snake. What was he trying to like?
- 57:07I think he's just like. This is my chance to kill a dog.
- 57:10Yeah. Like, he just hated that dog.
- 57:12He was like I. Can't throw the baby so at least
- 57:13I can throw the dog and maybe I'll throw the baby too that
- 57:16actually felt. Good.
- 57:17And this is like. Silence.
- 57:19They're just like, what the fuck?
- 57:21And he's like, you all would have done the same thing.
- 57:23They're just like, no, nobody would, no, we wouldn't have.
- 57:26And then the Anaconda comes for him and starts swallowing him
- 57:30whole. And I was like, Oh my God, man,
- 57:32nobody stops it. Nobody cares.
- 57:34Yeah, just got them down again. Kurt is just being this
- 57:37sweetest. Little boy.
- 57:38And he sees Mercedes later. He's like, I'm really sorry
- 57:40about your dog. And like, she almost crushed.
- 57:42She's like, thank you. Yeah.
- 57:44She's like, it's OK, You can get in my purse.
- 57:50I'm picturing the whole link Butters becoming Pierce's.
- 57:53Oh God, yeah, Rick pops back up from miraculously, so yeah, his.
- 58:01ARM is huge. Yeah, and Flynn is like, thank
- 58:04God, please engage the autopilot.
- 58:06Yeah, they also take a raft. And they block off the stairs,
- 58:10so now they're more protected from the snakes and Flynn sees
- 58:14everybody. 'S upstairs and Sean's like,
- 58:16listen, I had to do it. He goes, I accept that.
- 58:20It's like you did what you had to do.
- 58:23And I like this. Like he's not as he's not like
- 58:25stubborn for the sake of being stubborn.
- 58:27And he's just like, I'm good at my job.
- 58:29Yeah, exactly. So this.
- 58:31Is where Doctor Price is telling them that like no hospital is
- 58:33going to have all the anti venom they need.
- 58:35It's going to take one to two days to get everything that you
- 58:37need for this. None of these snakes are from
- 58:39this. Continent.
- 58:40Yeah, it's crazy, but. He knows somebody.
- 58:44Local who deals illegal animals and he would have the venom and
- 58:49he's probably going to be who Eddie Kim worked with to get all
- 58:53of these motherfucker snakes on his motherfucker plane off to
- 58:55the helicopter we're. Still having power issues.
- 58:58With the plane and that includes the AC.
- 59:01Yeah, if it was all messed up. The breaker is in the cargo.
- 59:05Hold and it has to be reset manually.
- 59:07So Rick still needs to fly the planes.
- 59:11Claire and Flynn are going to figure that out because people
- 59:13are like, it's getting really hot in the plane. 3GS is like
- 59:18throwing a tantrum. He is panicking.
- 59:20He is not having a good time. He grabs Flynn's gun and they're
- 59:24like, hey, you shoot that. This is a pressurized cabin.
- 59:28It will explode. Yeah.
- 59:30Thing is, it's fine. I want a.
- 59:32Little bit of air and then Kenan.
- 59:34Says Clarence Kenan Keenan Jesus.
- 59:39Tries to put him in his place. I don't think it necessarily
- 59:41works. I think it does, at least is
- 59:43enough. To embarrass him?
- 59:45Yeah, I guess. Yeah.
- 59:46And also when she dies. Here.
- 59:47Yeah, she's dead now. Flynn.
- 59:50Comforts, Claire. Because she's just, it's a
- 59:54really bad last flight. Yeah.
- 59:56And they plan to get the AC back on.
- 59:59She's going to have a walkie-talkie and talk him
- 1:00:01through it because she's got to stay up there with everybody.
- 1:00:03And he's going to go. And she's also like, here, take
- 1:00:05this. And it's a makeshift.
- 1:00:06Flamethrower that she had to, Yeah.
- 1:00:08Basically it's an aerosol can and a lighter.
- 1:00:10Yep. So everybody.
- 1:00:12Is trying to stay. Calm while they wait for the air
- 1:00:14to come back on. They're drinking water.
- 1:00:16He's apologizes. He's like, sorry.
- 1:00:19He's like. That's embarrassing.
- 1:00:22I'm picturing like the episode of America Dad where Steve says
- 1:00:26fuck you to Francine and he gives the car that says we're
- 1:00:29cool, right, with the Penguin on it.
- 1:00:30Like I'm picturing 3DS and like, cool, right?
- 1:00:33Cool, right. Yeah.
- 1:00:36The lever on the breaker box is stuck.
- 1:00:38So Flynn starts going through everybody's luggage and finds a
- 1:00:42sports gear bag and uses It's a harpoon.
- 1:00:46OK, yeah, no, he uses. A waiter to shoot?
- 1:00:49Oh. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:00:50OK. Yeah.
- 1:00:51And he like unjams the. Breaker with it, Yeah.
- 1:00:54And so everybody's relieved. They got arrogant.
- 1:00:56Woo, there is. A minor shootout happening.
- 1:01:00At the exotic animal smuggling farm, that's exactly what it's
- 1:01:05called. Big banner, right?
- 1:01:07Yes, exactly. It's fucking orange.
- 1:01:09Right there. Yes, there's.
- 1:01:10Like the little. Flags waving.
- 1:01:12Arm man. Yeah, I was pointing here.
- 1:01:14Yeah. Yeah, there.
- 1:01:16There's a shoot out of the guy ends up getting bit by one of
- 1:01:20his animals and Harris basically is like got any more of this
- 1:01:25anti venom? You might want to talk if you're
- 1:01:27going to want any of it yourself.
- 1:01:28Yeah, I hope to have him Price here.
- 1:01:29He's like, oh, he's only got 7. Minutes to live so they use that
- 1:01:31to their advantage. Dude, the dude, I love that he
- 1:01:34does this. He's like he gets the anti venom
- 1:01:36for it and like the guy is still being reluctant to answer and he
- 1:01:39like squirts a little bit out of him.
- 1:01:40He's like, man, you're racing it.
- 1:01:42Yeah, also. Honestly, for as much of a
- 1:01:45fucking nerd as Doctor Price's, he's kind of a badass in this
- 1:01:48moment, too. Yeah, yeah, he probably had it
- 1:01:50out for. This guy this entire time, this
- 1:01:52fucker I finally got. You.
- 1:01:54It's the kind of. Badass energy, that.
- 1:01:55Comes from like knowing you're the best in your field and that
- 1:02:00you don't have time for your shit.
- 1:02:01Like you're dealing with things on a higher plane than this guy.
- 1:02:04Exactly. They call up to let.
- 1:02:08Fun know that they've got the anti venoms.
- 1:02:10They're all waiting at the airport and everybody's like
- 1:02:14relieved. They're like this is great news.
- 1:02:17We've got anti venoms, we've got air conditioning, we're good.
- 1:02:21They go to tell Rick and the door is locked and they're a
- 1:02:25little bit nervous about it and Flynn's like, I don't have time
- 1:02:27for this. Knocks down the door, Rick's
- 1:02:30dead. There's so many snakes in there.
- 1:02:32And then this is where they have their moment of had enough of
- 1:02:37these motherfucker snakes on this motherfucking plane.
- 1:02:38He's like, listen, we're going to bust out one of one or two of
- 1:02:43these windows. Everybody strap in, make sure
- 1:02:46you're holding on tight. We're going to get rid of these
- 1:02:48snakes who can land a plane. Crickets and 3GS goes Troy, Troy
- 1:02:53even talking about this. This is your moment.
- 1:02:55This is your moment. You've been talking about this
- 1:02:57man. He's like, man, if, if I'm ever.
- 1:02:59On a plane, it's just going down.
- 1:03:00I'm going to win that. Yeah.
- 1:03:02Like what? What do?
- 1:03:03Clarence and Troy talk about, you know, this type of shit you
- 1:03:07probably do talk about. For real.
- 1:03:09Maybe, but it's his time. This is his time.
- 1:03:10This is what he's been training for on the PlayStation Two.
- 1:03:12Yeah, he says. He's got more than two. 1000
- 1:03:15hours I love how I like they keep that yeah this year it.
- 1:03:18Is pretty good like. You're like, oh, shit.
- 1:03:20OK, so Troy's got like, he's 3G's boy, but he's got his own
- 1:03:24aspiration. Yeah.
- 1:03:25So we're like, all right, cool. He's gonna, we're gonna let
- 1:03:28Keenan Thompson have his hero moment.
- 1:03:30And it doesn't even have to be related to Good Burger.
- 1:03:32Like, we're happy for him. So everybody straps in in their
- 1:03:36seats. Oh yeah, except for Keenan and
- 1:03:40Flan. They go to the.
- 1:03:42They go to the. Front.
- 1:03:43Yeah, it's chaos as the cabin has to like balance out.
- 1:03:49It's it's depressurizing or whatever the right term is.
- 1:03:52They're kind of nose siving. I think it's also playing.
- 1:03:54Into that a little bit, yeah. So yeah, he shoots out the
- 1:03:57windows. Everything's flying out there.
- 1:03:59And they managed to climb their way into the cockpit and right
- 1:04:03the ship, and then everything levels out, Yeah.
- 1:04:05And they're talking. To the flight control and
- 1:04:11they're basically just like, we're gonna land the way we're
- 1:04:13gonna land. We don't have time to turn
- 1:04:14things around. We got to do what we're gonna
- 1:04:16do. And then this is where he
- 1:04:18reveals his flight time was actually in a flight simulator,
- 1:04:21which was actually more of a video game than it was a flight
- 1:04:25simulator. He's like, so you're pretty good
- 1:04:27this way. He's like.
- 1:04:27Yeah, I mean, my brother Randy has a high score though.
- 1:04:29Fucking yeah. Well, they kind of get.
- 1:04:32In back and forth. With yeah, the control tower
- 1:04:35about what's up, he's like it's happening, I'm landing and then
- 1:04:38they have a bumpy landing, but he manages to steer it off of
- 1:04:43the landing just barely misses hitting the.
- 1:04:46Airport, Yeah, and they make a safe.
- 1:04:49Landing the emergency teams are. Ready on the tarmac.
- 1:04:53They're getting everybody. Tommy is saved because they're
- 1:04:56like, we need to know exactly what bit him and everybody's
- 1:04:58like, well, we don't know what kind of snake it was and Curtis,
- 1:05:00like, I drew a picture. Yeah, he drew a picture.
- 1:05:03Yeah, it. Is a cobra and.
- 1:05:05Then as Sean is about to walk out, a snake bites him on the
- 1:05:09chest. Sam Jackson shoots the snake
- 1:05:12which means it. Also.
- 1:05:13First time I watched this I was like what?
- 1:05:15In the I was like, was all of this?
- 1:05:18Just like a massive double cross.
- 1:05:21Please don't tell me that Flynn is a bad guy in this.
- 1:05:24And I was like, what is happening?
- 1:05:27These aren't bulletproof pets. Should have known.
- 1:05:29Of course now. Yeah, because that's basic
- 1:05:31precaution. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:05:32Yeah, but like, we're fucking. Dumb.
- 1:05:34And they knew it. They knew it that they got us
- 1:05:36with that too, because that's how we feel.
- 1:05:38It's like I doesn't. It says.
- 1:05:39Things, don't it? Yeah, so.
- 1:05:42Flynn asked. Claire out, Tiffany, Shawn out.
- 1:05:47But we don't, we don't end with the those romances.
- 1:05:51We end with the bromance. Yeah, because he goes, Shawn
- 1:05:53goes over to. Flynn's like, what was the first
- 1:05:55thing you said to me? And we pull.
- 1:05:58Out wide shot revealed that they're in the ocean.
- 1:06:01He's like, now it's your turn to listen to me, Yep.
- 1:06:03And he's teaching them to surf. Yep.
- 1:06:05In body, presumably. I find it hard to believe that
- 1:06:08these two became best. Bubbies, but maybe it's true
- 1:06:11like I guess you went through some shit together.
- 1:06:13Maybe maybe who knows they don't seem like two people that would
- 1:06:15jail well, though Sanders is dead.
- 1:06:18That's true. He.
- 1:06:19Needs a new Yeah, he's a new. Friend, it's like I got an
- 1:06:21opening. I'm keeping it at a 10.
- 1:06:25Obviously. Yeah, OK.
- 1:06:30Fuck it, let's do tins, let's just do tins.
- 1:06:32Let's fucking dude. I love this movie man.
- 1:06:34It was a lot of fun. So much fun.
- 1:06:36It is. It's just a good.
- 1:06:37Time. Yeah, man.
- 1:06:38I mean, it does exactly what it tries to do.
- 1:06:40So, well, I don't know, I can't knock it from anything really,
- 1:06:44OK. Talia.
- 1:06:46She was. She was refusing to look at the
- 1:06:49screen. She did not want to see these
- 1:06:51snakes. She did not appreciate that one
- 1:06:53of them made a dog. So.
- 1:06:56So on. The cat.
- 1:06:57Yeah. So the cat probably asked for
- 1:06:58it. Yeah.
- 1:06:59The cat. Was probably being really.
- 1:07:00Annoying. I think Talia would give this an
- 1:07:058 out of 10 because the dog got eight.
- 1:07:09Oh no. I guess, yeah, it's a harsh
- 1:07:13rating, but that is. Harsh.
- 1:07:15OK, this sure. That that works for her Zoe's.
- 1:07:19Ultimate warrior? Well, probably the fucking
- 1:07:27snake. That ate the bald dude Kitty
- 1:07:31slush Kong. Yeah, All right, I'm gonna write
- 1:07:33Kong because that was the the snake's production name.
- 1:07:36I think if Zoe could like. Dislocate her jaw and absolutely
- 1:07:41swallow us. She.
- 1:07:42Would. Yeah, I if we woke up.
- 1:07:44One day and Zoe was trying to swallow one of us whole.
- 1:07:48I wouldn't be surprised. It'd be like that thing from the
- 1:07:51Taking of. Deborah Logan where you see like
- 1:07:53the her just like swallowing that person in The Cave.
- 1:07:56I'm picturing the Jack in the. Box and Krampus.
- 1:07:59Oh yeah, I mean just as good. Right there.
- 1:08:02Yeah. OK.
- 1:08:04All right. Dream sequel.
- 1:08:09I mean, do we just do like another form of transportation
- 1:08:15with another creature, like spiders on a train?
- 1:08:18Do you really want to watch spiders on a?
- 1:08:20Train I can like I can. Watch some spider stuff like a
- 1:08:25like it freaks if it's goofy like sinks on a plane would make
- 1:08:27it. I feel like it needs to be a
- 1:08:28subway because we need. To have that element of like
- 1:08:31can't escape. So like maybe the subway gets
- 1:08:34stuck in a tunnel somewhere. OK, what's I think you could?
- 1:08:38Maybe do spiders with that, because there's a lot of
- 1:08:40different ones. They're all poisonous to the big
- 1:08:42ones, tiny ones, you know? Yeah, you can have some real.
- 1:08:45Real big motherfuckers. And those would also like bring
- 1:08:49in like different experts and whatnot.
- 1:08:52Yeah, I think that that could work, yeah.
- 1:08:54Spiders on a subway. We don't have the story.
- 1:08:56Details about why they're there. But you don't need anything
- 1:08:59strong as we've seen with this movie.
- 1:09:00I do want one visual gag. Of somebody eating a subway
- 1:09:04sandwich and a spider is like crawling over it cuz it's
- 1:09:07spiders on a spiders on a subway.
- 1:09:09Oh my God, that's good. OK.
- 1:09:12I just don't like the imagery of a spider or climbing on a
- 1:09:15sandwich. Yeah, but like if we're doing
- 1:09:17this. We got to.
- 1:09:18We got to go all the way. You got to.
- 1:09:19OK, sure. Who did you relate to?
- 1:09:23I guess I related to a little. Kid who drew the snake?
- 1:09:26If I can describe a snake, I could at least try and draw it
- 1:09:29for you. Yeah, I guess I.
- 1:09:32Also related to Curtis, but more because of the older sibling
- 1:09:35anxiety. OK, Yeah.
- 1:09:39All right, tagline, tagline I really like.
- 1:09:47I was. Thinking about it earlier and
- 1:09:49I'm trying to cuz you know how like some flights have multiple
- 1:09:53parts like you like this is the first leg of your trip.
- 1:09:56This is the second leg. And I was like trying to think
- 1:09:58of a way to do like no legs cuz of the snake, but I can't have I
- 1:10:03can't get it like concise enough.
- 1:10:05Just make it no legs because of the.
- 1:10:07Snake. No, I will, yeah.
- 1:10:12But on the cover of this no that I feel like that works.
- 1:10:16No legs because of the snake, comma because of the snake, or
- 1:10:20in parentheses because of the snake.
- 1:10:21This trip has no legs. Because of the snakes.
- 1:10:25There we go. OK, Yeah.
- 1:10:28There All right so we forgot to do this last episode yeah, but
- 1:10:32we got to ask again what would Dom do?
- 1:10:35Dom. Yeah, what would?
- 1:10:36We. Whatever, We we had a break.
- 1:10:38I didn't get to keep my streak with that.
- 1:10:40OK, what would Dom do? Obviously Dom would.
- 1:10:43Get onto the plane too late to save Elena, but he could at
- 1:10:49least take the baby and name it after his friend, who
- 1:10:52canonically is not dead. Look, I'm just going to go out
- 1:10:54on a limb here and say this is 1.
- 1:10:55Where Dom doesn't succeed because he's going to come in
- 1:10:58to, he's going to get into it with another aggro bald man, Sam
- 1:11:04Jackson. Yeah, and they're, he's not
- 1:11:06going to allow him to steal his limelight.
- 1:11:08They're going to clash and it's not gonna go well for Vin
- 1:11:11Diesel, it's. But he's got that clause, man,
- 1:11:15so he's probably gonna he's there's a OK.
- 1:11:18It's gonna be like fast 7. There's a car in the back there.
- 1:11:22He's gonna drive it out. It has a parachute.
- 1:11:24Because of course. Yeah.
- 1:11:25And he when the. When the window is shot out, he
- 1:11:28takes his new baby and jumps out of it.
- 1:11:33Out of the plane with the baby in a parachute.
- 1:11:35OK, there we go. That's it.
- 1:11:36Yeah, at least the. Mom up.
- 1:11:37There's like, go get by. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:11:40Well, I mean. She let that's the reason that
- 1:11:42he let Elena die, because she let Grace die.
- 1:11:44He's OK. He's about the same race.
- 1:11:46Like OK. Come on, I got you.
- 1:11:47And then he suddenly gets a text, like, hold on a second.
- 1:11:49It's like, well, he's alive. Oh, shit.
- 1:11:50And then he's just like, all right, bye.
- 1:11:54OK, cool, cool all. Right.
- 1:11:56I've got a review. OK, Now this is one that I was
- 1:12:00trying to because it's one of those that is so kind of
- 1:12:07infamous that it you know, it's a lot of like this is stupid.
- 1:12:14You know, that's the kind of kind of reviews you get.
- 1:12:18So I was trying to find one and I got a 2 out of 10 for it.
- 1:12:22And partially this is because this person kept misspelling
- 1:12:26witness in the funniest. Like I'm not making fun of
- 1:12:29people who like struggle with spelling because there's any
- 1:12:32variety of reasons that can happen.
- 1:12:34They spell whiteness. They spell.
- 1:12:36Whiteness, yeah. Right.
- 1:12:39And it just it took. Me an embarrassingly long time
- 1:12:43to figure out what was happening with them and so this.
- 1:12:47Movie was written in or this. Review was written in 2021.
- 1:12:50Snakes on a Plane 2006 is a movie I recently rewatched on
- 1:12:53HBO Max. The storyline follows a
- 1:12:56whiteness against a drug cartel being flown to testify in a key
- 1:13:00case. I mean I can understand being
- 1:13:02confused or like. I guess you could refer to as
- 1:13:04white. He's white.
- 1:13:05He's very white it. Kind of makes him sound like
- 1:13:07royalty though. Like his whiteness.
- 1:13:09I don't like that. Yeah, when the.
- 1:13:11Cartel discovers the plane the whiteness is on.
- 1:13:14This is the thing this guy writes.
- 1:13:16Witness 10 times and spells like whiteness.
- 1:13:19Confidently incorrect. Confidently incorrect.
- 1:13:21They filled the. Bottom of the plane with snakes
- 1:13:23and let them loose. This movie is directed by David
- 1:13:25R Ellis of Sphere and star Samuel L Jackson of Pulp
- 1:13:27Fiction, Julianne Margulies of Ghost Shit, Kenan Thompson of
- 1:13:31Saturday Night Live, Lynn Shave's Insidious, and Sonny
- 1:13:34Mabry of XXX State of the Union. The storyline and movie is very
- 1:13:37cheesy and cliche out of a good few good bite locations.
- 1:13:40I mean everyone can appreciate a good boob and I bite movie
- 1:13:43relies heavily on CGI that looked terrible in a Sharknado
- 1:13:46kind of way. There are a few funny lines here
- 1:13:48and there. My favorite part of the movie is
- 1:13:49when they land the plane at the end.
- 1:13:51OK. I mean that is a good part
- 1:13:53overall. This movie that is terrible.
- 1:13:55And it's OK with that, so I'll score it as so.
- 1:13:57I give it a 2 out of 10. I recommend skipping it.
- 1:14:00OK. I mean, that's kind of like what
- 1:14:01I. Was saying about the bad part
- 1:14:03before like I mean if you don't drive with that kind of movie,
- 1:14:06it's not going to work for you. Like if you don't like B movies
- 1:14:09and don't watch AB movie, Yeah, it's funny because.
- 1:14:12I saw somebody on one of the Twilight sewer posting groups
- 1:14:19shared their experience of like, their posts that they had made
- 1:14:2213 years ago coming out of one of the Twilight movies.
- 1:14:25Oh, yeah, maybe, like, so God, these signals were free and we
- 1:14:27didn't waste our money and being like, man.
- 1:14:30And I can't believe 13 years later that I'm sitting here so
- 1:14:34embarrassed of myself. And I like, I was just in there
- 1:14:37going every 30 something ratty is a former pick me.
- 1:14:42That's kind of how I feel about when I think about my reaction
- 1:14:46to hearing about snakes on a plane in high school.
- 1:14:48Like, like, wow. But that's not very good.
- 1:14:52Yeah. I mean, that's kind of most
- 1:14:53people. 'S immediate thought and like
- 1:14:56you don't. Have to be too good to have fun.
- 1:14:59I think people that think they're too good to have fun
- 1:15:01just generally don't have fun. Life gets a lot better when you
- 1:15:05just embrace enjoying things. Yeah, I agree.
- 1:15:09And I mean, it's just. This is a movie that is like
- 1:15:11better than it probably should be, yes, And I think it's
- 1:15:14because you've. Got people involved in it that
- 1:15:17know what it is. They want it to be a fun time if
- 1:15:20I I firmly believe Sam Jackson is the heart of this movie.
- 1:15:24Without him it wouldn't work as well it.
- 1:15:26Definitely helps having him a part of it.
- 1:15:28Yeah OK. I imagine him giving several
- 1:15:31like. Rousing speeches to the crew
- 1:15:34much the way he did to the characters.
- 1:15:36I hope so. OK, well, you know, here's the
- 1:15:40thing. I forgot to do listener reviews.
- 1:15:42However, we still did have one person send this one.
- 1:15:45OK, that's fun. Yeah.
- 1:15:46Queen Beatrix. Said in case I forget.
- 1:15:48When you post about snakes on a plane, the only thing I remember
- 1:15:50from this real movie I watched was how the microwave has a
- 1:15:53button for snakes and it lives free in my head.
- 1:15:56See, that's how I found out about that.
- 1:15:58Yeah. Thank you so much.
- 1:15:59Thank you for. Telling us that that is cool.
- 1:16:01Yeah, I I would have never. Known.
- 1:16:03That's like one of those things that you don't even like.
- 1:16:05I just don't even pay attention to sometimes.
- 1:16:07Yeah. And I'm surprised I didn't pay
- 1:16:08attention to. It because we're like.
- 1:16:09We're usually more keen to see that stuff when we're taking
- 1:16:12notes. That's the type of.
- 1:16:13Set dressing that I love. Yeah, I know, man, that's so
- 1:16:16funny. But that's I.
- 1:16:17Mean, that's a testament to the movie.
- 1:16:18It's just so fucking goofy. Of course you're gonna have a
- 1:16:21snake's button on a microwave. Yes, and that's the thing when
- 1:16:23you're making this. Type of movie and you know what
- 1:16:25type of movie it is that you're making and you choose to have
- 1:16:28fun with it and you have an audience watching it that
- 1:16:30chooses to have fun with it You get magic like things like that
- 1:16:32Yeah, for sure Cool. Well, thanks for.
- 1:16:35Sending that. I'm glad that we still had
- 1:16:36something, even though I have dropped the ball.
- 1:16:37Yeah. Yeah, Thank you.
- 1:16:39All right. All right, So next.

- 1:16:45together yet. Nope.

- 1:16:55is, see what's coming out. We'll try and let you know where

- 1:17:11for sure, and then we'll probably have a bunch of other
- 1:17:13Christmas horror movies. Yeah.
- 1:17:14I mean, that's kind of there's. So many of them and there's no
- 1:17:17shortages. So I, I definitely, I'm going to
- 1:17:19be picking one for myself. Yes, I will be as well.
- 1:17:22OK, cool. So we will have fun with that.
