- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, Welcome to Girl's Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:13Speaker 1: of Long Story Short the podcast. Today we're discussing snow Kissed,
- 0:17Speaker 1: the final movie in the New Year, New Movies series
- 0:21Speaker 1: from Hallmark. For those of you who are new to us,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Megan is a longtime Hallmark fan and Wendy say hi.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Wendy Hello, is new to the Hallmark game. She watched
- 0:32Speaker 1: her first Hallmark movie just three months ago, and now
- 0:35Speaker 1: she can't be stopped. Maybe I can afford this movie.
- 0:41Speaker 1: H oh spoilerlert. Let's start with a synopsis.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Okay, snow Kissed, a travel of verse journalist chases her
- 0:50Speaker 2: dream assignment, where she unwillingly finds herself mentoring a handsome
- 0:55Speaker 2: being b owner who wants to be a tour guide.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Starry Jentleally and Chris Mally.
- 1:01Speaker 1: All right, let's do news and notes about this movie.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I have some fun ones, do you? I only have
- 1:07Speaker 1: a few.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I saw that it was filmed in late twenty twenty
- 1:10Speaker 2: early January twenty twenty one, like they just finished.
- 1:15Speaker 1: This movie is blowing my mind. Well, that's interesting because
- 1:19Speaker 1: it's said that they started November twenty third, because then
- 1:24Speaker 1: the big shutdowns came the twenty fifth and they had
- 1:26Speaker 1: to adjust in bamp Oh. That's interesting, very interesting. But
- 1:34Speaker 1: what was really interesting is the interior scenes. So the
- 1:40Speaker 1: B and B interiors and the BAMF like holiday market
- 1:46Speaker 1: where they had the wine and the cheese. All of
- 1:50Speaker 1: that was filmed at a location in Manitoba called pine
- 1:54Speaker 1: Ridge Hollow, which is basically a shopping and dining and
- 1:59Speaker 1: event sent her that they turned many of their interior
- 2:04Speaker 1: spaces into filming spaces. So the restaurant, of course, was
- 2:07Speaker 1: their restaurant, but the bedroom where Kate and Kate and
- 2:14Speaker 1: Jane stayed is the upstairs of the restaurant. They completely
- 2:17Speaker 1: redid that. Oh interesting, Yes, their furniture showroom is what
- 2:22Speaker 1: they turned into the wine and cheese market. And the kitchen,
- 2:28Speaker 1: which of the B and B and the front of
- 2:30Speaker 1: the B and B is actually the home of Jen,
- 2:34Speaker 1: who is the owner of pine Ridge Hollow, was filmed
- 2:37Speaker 1: in her personal home. Wait, Jen, the actress in the movie.
- 2:42Speaker 1: No Jen the owner of pine Ridge Hollow. Oh oh okay, Jan, sorry,
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm too four Jan. Her name's Jan. The home is beautiful, Jan, beautiful.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I agree. I was like, is this a real B
- 2:55Speaker 1: and B? Because I want to go stay there. It
- 2:57Speaker 1: was a gorgeous Yes, now I want to go to
- 3:00Speaker 1: pine Ridge Hollow because and a number of the furniture
- 3:04Speaker 1: pieces that they use they also sell in the pine
- 3:07Speaker 1: Ridge Hollow markets. And we will leave a link in
- 3:10Speaker 1: our show notes because they have a behind the scenes
- 3:12Speaker 1: feature on their website which links a number of the
- 3:15Speaker 1: pieces that were used, both furniture and decor pieces. And
- 3:19Speaker 1: I thought this movie was beautiful in terms of the
- 3:22Speaker 1: interior setting. So pretty. So I loved that tie in.
- 3:27Speaker 1: That's so pretty. I'm noting down pine Ridge Hollow. I
- 3:30Speaker 1: may have to go visit that place in Manitoba. Exciting. Okay,
- 3:35Speaker 1: So what'd you like about this movie? Snow Kissed hold
- 3:40Speaker 1: on first impressions? Okay, well, I think I already told you.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I hate thought it was so boring. Oh my hated,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I hated it. Hated what? Yeah, I really enjoyed it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It's not my oh god, but it's like a solid middle.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I liked it. Well, I'll tell you why. Uh okay,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Well you tell me what you liked about it. Okay.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I one thing I really liked, and I think last
- 4:08Speaker 1: week's movie really suffered for is our supporting characters have
- 4:11Speaker 1: a full storyline, so Simon and Jane get their own
- 4:16Speaker 1: love story. And I think that's part of what last
- 4:21Speaker 1: weeks missed is that you know that filler content. I
- 4:25Speaker 1: think these movies need that, and we didn't have it,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and I think that's what slowed the pace of last
- 4:31Speaker 1: week's movie down. And we had a fully flushed storyline
- 4:35Speaker 1: for Simon and Jane. You, I am guessing, did not
- 4:38Speaker 1: enjoy them.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Okay, your assessment is fair. However, Simon was such a nerd,
- 4:47Speaker 2: like I could not what did she like about this guy? Like,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and she fell in love with them in the four
- 4:56Speaker 2: days that they're there. Look, I know I have to
- 4:59Speaker 2: like think of this as not real life, that this
- 5:03Speaker 2: is a Hallmark universe. But no, no, no, no, Simon
- 5:08Speaker 2: was a dork.
- 5:09Speaker 1: She acted super desperate. I hated everything about that. Does
- 5:15Speaker 1: she say she loves him or does she say I'd
- 5:18Speaker 1: like to pursue a relationship with it.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Whatever, they're gonna have a long term relate or a
- 5:23Speaker 2: long distance relationship, Like she was so trying hard to
- 5:26Speaker 2: make it happen. I just hated it, Like, don't be
- 5:30Speaker 2: so desperate. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I have a lot
- 5:34Speaker 2: of thoughts on this movie.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Did you like anything about this movie?
- 5:38Speaker 2: I liked that it was in bamp But I did
- 5:40Speaker 2: text you last night I said, effing BAMF again. They
- 5:43Speaker 2: must have got a two for one. It's like salt
- 5:46Speaker 2: in the wound. Well, yes, because if you didn't hear
- 5:49Speaker 2: it last week, I was supposed to go to bamp
- 5:50Speaker 2: for with my sister, but no, I really want to
- 5:54Speaker 2: go there during the wintertime because it's so gorgeous. However, however,
- 6:00Speaker 2: you have two back to back movies that are shot
- 6:03Speaker 2: in the same location there that takes place in the
- 6:06Speaker 2: same location, seems a little like far fetched for me.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It's just too much for me, right they Well, I
- 6:12Speaker 1: feel like they could have made up a location, which
- 6:16Speaker 1: they often do, right like Evergreen, right is fake. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: feel like they could have made up a fake winter
- 6:23Speaker 1: town and then still used all the outdoor because the
- 6:27Speaker 1: scenery is beautiful, right Like they go snowshoeing and that's beautiful,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and the BAMF gondola is beautiful. But I just call
- 6:36Speaker 1: it pine Ridge Hollow. Excellent point, Ah fired at Megan.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Okay. I liked Chris McNally. I thought he was easy
- 6:46Speaker 2: to look at. I think he looks like Ryan Reynolds,
- 6:50Speaker 2: the actor Ryan Reynolds.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Okay, I like jenn Lilly a lot. I enjoy her.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I have thoughts, Okay, I want to see her in
- 7:02Speaker 2: something else. I didn't like her as a blonde. I
- 7:04Speaker 2: saw her in another picture where she had brunette hair,
- 7:06Speaker 2: and I thought out suited her better her care. See,
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'm just going into like things I didn't like about
- 7:12Speaker 2: So I'm.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Sorry, why don't you continue to finish what you liked
- 7:16Speaker 1: about it? Well, that's really all the specifics that I have.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But you're going to appreciate my first Oh okay, and
- 7:26Speaker 1: this is not so much a roadblock. My next one
- 7:28Speaker 1: is an actual roadblock. But I just wrote she's uptight.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh my god, the hues stick up her ass, like
- 7:38Speaker 1: the nervous energy, like she projected into this character like
- 7:42Speaker 1: I just could. I was so.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Uncomfortable, like watching it, Like when she lost her passport.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's me, that was me. I would it was me? Ah,
- 7:54Speaker 1: But I told my husband, I was like, that's me,
- 7:56Speaker 1: that's what I would. That's who I am when I'm
- 7:58Speaker 1: at that airport. Where did I put it? Like, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: that's me my boarding pass? Yes, yes, But like the
- 8:03Speaker 1: whole she's like doesn't like to travel. She's only been
- 8:08Speaker 1: in the city of Manhattan for their you know, like
- 8:11Speaker 1: I don't like to travel either, because I am scared
- 8:14Speaker 1: to travel. But like, come on, you can't be this
- 8:18Speaker 1: like well maybe she can't be this wonderful writer, but
- 8:22Speaker 1: she doesn't experience life like she's just learning what she
- 8:26Speaker 1: learns off the internet. I don't know. I hated her.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I hated her character. Well, I thought it was weird
- 8:31Speaker 1: that she loves New York so much. New York is
- 8:33Speaker 1: so like fast paced and loud and there's so much
- 8:37Speaker 1: going on, but she's so like uptight in normal life situations.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You know, it's not like she lives in some small town.
- 8:47Speaker 1: You have to kind of be able to go with
- 8:49Speaker 1: the flow a little bit to live in New York.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But in that scene where they're getting the bagel, like
- 8:55Speaker 1: she just wants that bagel guy to like her so much,
- 8:57Speaker 1: Like she just wants and she wants her friend like
- 9:00Speaker 1: hurry up and place an order and not make things uncomfortable. Well,
- 9:04Speaker 1: I can relate to that a little me too, me too,
- 9:08Speaker 1: just like don't make it weird. Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I just didn't like, I don't see I have a
- 9:13Speaker 2: hard time like separating like the actor from the character.
- 9:17Speaker 2: So I need That's why I need to see her
- 9:19Speaker 2: in something else. You're gonna have to leave me a recommendation, Megan,
- 9:23Speaker 2: or somebody's gonna have to leave us a recommendation of
- 9:25Speaker 2: a movie that I should watch with her in it.
- 9:27Speaker 2: That she was super likable, the character was super likable.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Because this was not it do a little research. This
- 9:34Speaker 2: didn't do it for you. No, no, do.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You have any Oh? Yes I do. Noah. The rando
- 9:40Speaker 1: guy in the coffee line is their driver and bed
- 9:42Speaker 1: and breakfast house. Oh like, come on, like, I was like,
- 9:48Speaker 1: so obviously, so you're gonna like nitpick at each other
- 9:51Speaker 1: the entire time and then they're gonna fall in love
- 9:52Speaker 1: at the end. I hate that trope. I hate it. Well,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I have another u Oh, okay, they lived twenty four
- 10:01Speaker 1: hundred and seventy nine miles apart. Uh oh, oh, my god,
- 10:05Speaker 1: Over and over again, I have this too, Like, wait,
- 10:08Speaker 1: hold on a second, then I want a note about this.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Uh oh.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Kate gets offered a staff position and now she can't
- 10:13Speaker 2: be with Noah anymore. In oh uh oh, the author
- 10:19Speaker 2: of the answer cancels and Noah comes to the rescue.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And also the answer is just like the secret is
- 10:27Speaker 2: this what.
- 10:28Speaker 1: They're Yeah, maybe I don't know. Are you ready for
- 10:31Speaker 1: what we wished for? Because that ties in nicely with
- 10:33Speaker 1: my sure, my what we wished for is a better
- 10:38Speaker 1: understanding of the author storyline. I felt like I didn't
- 10:44Speaker 1: either I wasn't paying attention, which definitely possible, or I
- 10:49Speaker 1: didn't understand what he had changed. I don't know. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: like when she was like, oh, well, in the past
- 10:57Speaker 1: two years, I don't live like that anymore, and I
- 10:59Speaker 1: was like, little like what I don't understand?
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think I think he meant like because she very
- 11:05Speaker 2: much lived his theory, which was like to be rooted
- 11:08Speaker 2: in one place. Do you remember that whole conversation she
- 11:11Speaker 2: had with Noah about like a potted plant blo, Yes, Okay,
- 11:15Speaker 2: So like I think the author had initially like just
- 11:20Speaker 2: like Bluemori, you're planted, but then like he met somebody
- 11:23Speaker 2: who changed his entire life and then opened him up
- 11:26Speaker 2: to a whole new world. And then so he threw
- 11:29Speaker 2: that theory out the window, which then leaves our character
- 11:33Speaker 2: Kate in despair because she has always followed that Blue
- 11:37Speaker 2: Morier planted idea, and Noah, who doesn't follow that idea,
- 11:42Speaker 2: was pushing her to look outside of her little box
- 11:46Speaker 2: that she made in Manhattan.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Now, if this was her guiding force in her life
- 11:53Speaker 1: and this author had changed his feelings, Waiting should not
- 11:57Speaker 1: have known that information. She absolutely would have. I told
- 12:02Speaker 1: my husband I go First.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Of all, if she's following this guy, like on the
- 12:06Speaker 2: day to day, she's in some sort of Facebook group,
- 12:09Speaker 2: it has some newsletter, she knows that there is a
- 12:12Speaker 2: change that this author has made.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Absolutely, Yes, he's doing interviews about it, about the book
- 12:18Speaker 1: he's writing and about how it's going to be so
- 12:20Speaker 1: groundbreakingly different from his last book. Come on, Kate, you're
- 12:26Speaker 1: a journalist. I'm just kidding. What else did you wish for? Uh?
- 12:31Speaker 2: Okay, so I wish Jane the Friend had better hair coloring.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Did you notice how terrible her red hair was? Are
- 12:40Speaker 2: you laughing because you did?
- 12:42Speaker 1: No? Oh my god.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It was at the roots it was like maroon read
- 12:47Speaker 2: and then towards the bottom it was like I don't
- 12:52Speaker 2: strawberry blonde. It was it's a pemic, I know, but
- 12:56Speaker 2: it was like awful like every time they show her
- 13:00Speaker 2: on the screen, I wanted to like throw something at
- 13:02Speaker 2: my TV.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I had so much like hate for this as I
- 13:07Speaker 1: was watching it. So weird. I'm sorry to hear that.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Okay, here's another thing. Kate needed some bronzer again, Like,
- 13:16Speaker 2: I don't get why they're not putting bronzer on these actresses. Yes,
- 13:20Speaker 2: it's cold and they're in the wintertime, but they can
- 13:24Speaker 2: warm up their complexion with some bronze there. I just
- 13:27Speaker 2: thought she looks so harsh.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, the coloring was real cool for everything in this
- 13:33Speaker 1: movie they're clothed, the lighting, the interiors. Yes, okay, I
- 13:37Speaker 1: have more, do you have? No? Keep going? Noah.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I wish he wasn't such an effing moron when it
- 13:44Speaker 2: came to being a tour guide, Like he was like
- 13:47Speaker 2: bumbling over like all the facts and stats of like
- 13:51Speaker 2: the things that they.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Were Stop it, stop it. No. I mean I would
- 14:00Speaker 1: go on a tour with him, but no, I just
- 14:07Speaker 1: thought that was so bad.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I did like how she was like, Okay, you need
- 14:10Speaker 2: bullet points and then just talk, you know, casually, and
- 14:14Speaker 2: infuse your own like personal story into these things. Yes,
- 14:18Speaker 2: that's what I mean, that's what I'm drawn too. That's
- 14:20Speaker 2: what I like to do here on the podcast too.
- 14:22Speaker 2: But so I thought that was good advice, and thankfully
- 14:26Speaker 2: he took it because he was such a dipshit. Sorry, sorry, Megan,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I got more, I got more, keep going, Oh here,
- 14:35Speaker 2: I wrote, I wish they had a better seek, I'm sorry,
- 14:38Speaker 2: a better second leading man, a love interest for Jane
- 14:42Speaker 2: because he was a dork, unrealistic course of relationship. And
- 14:46Speaker 2: I wish that Kate and Noah just would have ended
- 14:49Speaker 2: up being friends and let like Jane and Simon have
- 14:54Speaker 2: like the love story.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Like, I thought.
- 14:56Speaker 2: That a friendship was better suited for Kate and Noah.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I didn't see any interesting chemistry or sparks between them
- 15:06Speaker 1: at all. The entire movie just fired up friends. I
- 15:10Speaker 1: just thought like she was more of a like a yeah,
- 15:14Speaker 1: he could have been the driving force, like you've changed
- 15:17Speaker 1: my outlook. Let's be friends, and like I'm gonna support
- 15:19Speaker 1: your business and we'll come visit Simon and we'll have
- 15:23Speaker 1: a great time together. Wouldn't that have been a cool
- 15:26Speaker 1: twist of things? I think? All right, I got a
- 15:30Speaker 1: big huge list of did you see that? Let's go
- 15:32Speaker 1: there up first, go the.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Hotel ballroom was the same spot they filmed last week's
- 15:38Speaker 2: movie in.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yes, when they walked down, I could tell they were
- 15:42Speaker 1: walking down the hallway. Uh huh they had there was
- 15:45Speaker 1: a scene from a Winter Getaway there, and then of
- 15:47Speaker 1: course they walked into the ballroom and that's the same room. Yes,
- 15:51Speaker 1: noticed tuber one. Okay, they had these beautiful, like white
- 15:58Speaker 1: lit Christmas trees. They was They're so pretty.
- 16:02Speaker 2: So there's one scene where like Jane and Kate are
- 16:05Speaker 2: in their bedroom at night and they're talking about the
- 16:08Speaker 2: boys and blah blah blah, and in the background you
- 16:10Speaker 2: can see those beautiful white trees lit up in their bedroom. Well,
- 16:14Speaker 2: the next day they show like Kate grabbing something in
- 16:17Speaker 2: the bedroom.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Trees are gone. They're not there. Interesting, I didn't notice that.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I just need a little bit more set consistency. Yes,
- 16:26Speaker 1: did you notice these things twin beds in their room?
- 16:29Speaker 1: I did? I did.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I mean I thought that room was like so cute.
- 16:35Speaker 2: But like, if you're going to a B and B,
- 16:37Speaker 2: you're not saying in a twin bed unless that's for.
- 16:40Speaker 1: The kids, right, Yeah, I yes, I agree.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I would still stay there, Megan, if me and you
- 16:45Speaker 2: went there, I would still sleep in a twin bed
- 16:47Speaker 2: because I thought.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It was so beautiful. Would you share a bathroom with strangers? No?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Did you notice that they said that that there's no
- 16:54Speaker 1: bathroom in their room? I thought, think of B and
- 16:57Speaker 1: B has bedrooms that have their own bathrooms, And I
- 17:00Speaker 1: wondered if that was their way of working around the
- 17:01Speaker 1: fact that, like, first of all, they were filming that
- 17:04Speaker 1: that room was a restaurant, so they you know, there
- 17:07Speaker 1: was no bathroom.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but it didn't show them going into or using
- 17:14Speaker 2: a bathroom. So why is that even a note like
- 17:17Speaker 2: they have to say out loud yeah?
- 17:19Speaker 1: Unless that was another way to illustrate how uptight Kate
- 17:23Speaker 1: is when she was like, excuse me, where's the bathroom? Yeah?
- 17:29Speaker 1: When did you see this selfie that have that freaking
- 17:35Speaker 1: long lens? Like it was just gonna be a shot
- 17:38Speaker 1: of her nostril? There was no totally.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I said to my husband, I go, or, we're gonna
- 17:42Speaker 2: see the pores on her nose in this picture, because
- 17:45Speaker 2: you're just.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Gonna turn this this huge digital camera around with this
- 17:50Speaker 1: huge long lens. She's taking pictures of like scenery shots
- 17:54Speaker 1: or and it's not to be in focused it's so
- 17:56Speaker 1: close it's just gonna be a blurry shot of her nose.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Why can't she just pull out like a iPhone out
- 18:01Speaker 2: of her.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Poet shen't have a phone? Fancy. Seriously, when Kate comes
- 18:08Speaker 1: back to the B and B at the end that
- 18:11Speaker 1: the B and b's like bumping like a freaking hotel.
- 18:14Speaker 1: There's so many people in it, and I'm like, it's
- 18:16Speaker 1: a B and B, Like how many people is it?
- 18:18Speaker 1: You know? Holding accommodating? Like why who are all these
- 18:21Speaker 1: people in here? Yes, and they're all going to be socializing,
- 18:25Speaker 1: Like every single guest in your B and B is
- 18:27Speaker 1: going to be socializing in this common area once.
- 18:30Speaker 2: That's my worst nightmare. That's why I would never stay
- 18:32Speaker 2: like at a B and B because I don't want
- 18:34Speaker 2: to have to come downstairs and like eat breakfast with
- 18:36Speaker 2: people at the same time. Or no, I don't want
- 18:39Speaker 2: to talk to anybody.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Well, did you like her line? I don't want to
- 18:42Speaker 1: talk to strangers? That's why earbuds were created.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I did like that line, and let me note it
- 18:47Speaker 2: down so I can make it because there were not
- 18:48Speaker 2: that many funny lines in.
- 18:49Speaker 1: This No, that's the only one I wrote for you.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I don't want to talk to strangers. That's why earbuds
- 18:55Speaker 1: were created. Okay, okay, do you have any more because
- 18:58Speaker 1: I have one last one. So when Kate and Noah kiss,
- 19:02Speaker 1: her phone rings and she's like I need to get
- 19:04Speaker 1: this and then she looks down at it and she's like, oh,
- 19:07Speaker 1: I need to call my boss. And I was like,
- 19:09Speaker 1: wait a minute, your phone rang and then oh, she
- 19:14Speaker 1: like she needs to call her. Yeah. I'm like, did
- 19:17Speaker 1: you into it? What she was gonna say, was she
- 19:20Speaker 1: texting you like, what is happening here? It rang three times?
- 19:23Speaker 1: Or was no time? It was? It was bad? Why
- 19:26Speaker 1: did she just not answer the phone? And it was
- 19:28Speaker 1: her boss saying like I need to talk to you
- 19:31Speaker 1: because they needed to have that scene in the car.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I didn't understand that. And also when Kate gets the
- 19:40Speaker 1: job offer right after the kiss, she's just like I'm
- 19:44Speaker 1: going home, and so Jane's like, okay, but did you
- 19:46Speaker 1: guys talk And Simon says the same thing to know
- 19:49Speaker 1: what did you talk to her? And both of them like, eh, no,
- 19:52Speaker 1: we're gonna let it go. Like Jane and Simon are
- 19:56Speaker 1: the only rational ones, albeit dorky and with terrible hair,
- 20:01Speaker 1: but yes, sorry. When they arrived at the B and B.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Noah twice comments about how he has to carry their bags. Dude,
- 20:13Speaker 1: you own a B and B. The expectation is that
- 20:16Speaker 1: you were going to Kate or to the needs of
- 20:17Speaker 1: your guests, and sometimes that includes carrying their bags. Totally.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I know what we're supposed to think, like she's this
- 20:24Speaker 1: uptight New Yorker. But also that was not that odd
- 20:28Speaker 1: to me that he carried their bags. No, not at all.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I would expect that, especially like that being me was
- 20:34Speaker 2: super nice. It's got to be pretty pricey, I would assume.
- 20:38Speaker 2: So yes, I expect five star service.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Absolutely. Okay, what else do you have?
- 20:44Speaker 2: Okay, So, in the very last scene Kate, Kate gets
- 20:49Speaker 2: to the hotel and she gets out of the cab
- 20:51Speaker 2: or uber or whatever.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Fake snow. It was digital snows. What the hell was that? Yes,
- 21:01Speaker 1: that's one of the nice things about these winter set
- 21:04Speaker 1: movies is we don't get like so much of the
- 21:06Speaker 1: soapy snow. But yes, it was digital and they didn't
- 21:11Speaker 1: bother with the soap. So there's like no snow accumulating
- 21:14Speaker 1: on their clothes.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yep, their hair, their shoulders are completely free of stories.
- 21:19Speaker 1: So why did it need to be snowing for that moment.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I don't.
- 21:22Speaker 2: The only thing that I can think of is because
- 21:24Speaker 2: the movie was called snow Kissed and at the very
- 21:27Speaker 2: end they kiss in the snow.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Other than that, no idea we want to lower my
- 21:33Speaker 1: star rating just for that. I don't know if I can. Yes,
- 21:40Speaker 1: I did notice the snow, and I wasn't sure if
- 21:41Speaker 1: I was nitpicking. I didn't write it down, but yes
- 21:45Speaker 1: I noticed it. It bothered me. I was anxious. I
- 21:49Speaker 1: wrote fake ass digital snow. Sorry.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I know our regular Hallmark listeners are not used to
- 21:58Speaker 2: my potty mouse, but the one got me really irritated.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Okay, I'm a little afraid to ask, what are you
- 22:06Speaker 1: rating this movie? I give this movie one and a
- 22:10Speaker 1: half stars, and it's a half because of its gorgeous location.
- 22:15Speaker 1: It was so terrible. Which other movie did you give
- 22:18Speaker 1: one star to this New Year's resolution? I guess the
- 22:21Speaker 1: one one and a half. This movie gets a two
- 22:24Speaker 1: point seventy five star for me. I actually had three
- 22:27Speaker 1: written down, but I've taken off a quarter star for
- 22:30Speaker 1: the fake snow. For the fake digital snow, I'm angry
- 22:34Speaker 1: you got it all over again. I hated this movie
- 22:37Speaker 1: so much I didn't love this movie, but I found
- 22:44Speaker 1: it enjoyable to watch.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I think it was a big old stinker. And they
- 22:47Speaker 2: put it right on the end of their their lineup.
- 22:50Speaker 2: They knew it was a stinker.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And here's the other thing.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I am really looking forward to the new February lineup
- 23:00Speaker 2: just because I am tired of looking at like snowy
- 23:03Speaker 2: winter scenes. I better not see any of those in
- 23:07Speaker 2: the February movies. I know it's still winter in a
- 23:10Speaker 2: lot of places. I don't want any hot chocolate. I
- 23:13Speaker 2: don't want any snowy anything snow.
- 23:17Speaker 1: It was an immediate docking of a star. Yes, yes, okay.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So I wanted to ask you, okay, of all five
- 23:27Speaker 1: of the New Year New movies, which one, not going
- 23:32Speaker 1: off of our ratings that we've given these movies, but
- 23:35Speaker 1: thinking back, which one did you really like the best?
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's still Taking a Shot at Love was my favorite?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Me too, Absolutely, I thought I had like the funniest
- 23:46Speaker 2: lines in it. I just enjoyed it so much more
- 23:50Speaker 2: than any of the other movies.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Which one was your least favorite? A New Year's Resolution? Sorry,
- 23:58Speaker 1: I thought that was so cute. Oh, I just I
- 24:04Speaker 1: just hated the actress in it. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I have high hopes for February though. Well, speaking of February,
- 24:14Speaker 1: next week starts The Love Ever After a series, and
- 24:17Speaker 1: the first movie is Beverly Hills Wedding, starring my very
- 24:21Speaker 1: favorite Hallmark movie actress who's actually not just a Hallmark
- 24:24Speaker 1: movie actress. She starred in a number of shows, including
- 24:28Speaker 1: a show my husband and I loved, Royal Pains, Brooke
- 24:32Speaker 1: Doorce probably ruining her name, and Brendan Penny, who I
- 24:36Speaker 1: have no opinion about, so we'll see how I feel
- 24:38Speaker 1: about him after next week's episode. But look, I love
- 24:41Speaker 1: Beverly Hills and I like a wedding, so I'm hope
- 24:44Speaker 1: I hopes for this movie. I think you'll like the
- 24:47Speaker 1: actress too. I really, she's my favorite. I love her
- 24:50Speaker 1: very excited. Oh that's not it. I wanted to say
- 24:53Speaker 1: that Jen Lily stars in one of my favorite Hallmark
- 24:56Speaker 1: Christmas movies, Mingle All the Way. I just checked the app.
- 24:59Speaker 1: It is not currently have any upcoming air dates, but
- 25:01Speaker 1: if it does air anytime soon, I'll let you know
- 25:04Speaker 1: so you can hit that cord button.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Look, I cannot watch a Christmas movie until at least November, so.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Well, it's okay, we'll see it's app based. It's another
- 25:15Speaker 1: one of those app movies, and she's uh has auburn hair,
- 25:19Speaker 1: so he might approve. Okay, all right, guys, don't miss
