- 0:16Speaker 2: end their lives in comfort, and it's it's a great idea.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Boy, Your new wife, Lindsay takes an old animals And all.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Right, this is the first time we have not taken
- 0:27Speaker 2: a shelter dog in in my life.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Oh, I wasn't talking about the dog. Oh I see,
- 0:33Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I'm misunderstood. Yes, no, I believe me. You
- 0:39Speaker 4: didn't have to say that.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And now Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:45Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Kids a Tuesday.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It is a Taco Tuesday, November eleventh, Today is Veteransday,
- 0:54Speaker 2: and I'm going to give you a handle history segment
- 0:57Speaker 2: coming up at a little at seven point fifty. It
- 1:02Speaker 2: is there's a reason why it's November eleventh, and it's
- 1:07Speaker 2: fascinating the history of this, going back to World War One,
- 1:12Speaker 2: that's when it all started. Also, yesterday the Senate voted.
- 1:17Speaker 2: We knew that was going to happen. The Senate voted
- 1:20Speaker 2: last night to avert the shutdown to move ahead.
- 1:24Speaker 4: It was a sixty to forty vote.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Eight senators from the Democratic Party went over to the
- 1:30Speaker 2: other side.
- 1:31Speaker 4: They went to the dark side.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Baltimore. Baltimore convinced them to do it. Baldemore, Yeah, Voldemorre Yes.
- 1:39Speaker 2: And I'm going to explain what's going on, and it's
- 1:43Speaker 2: this is not over, not even close. And I'll explain
- 1:48Speaker 2: some thoughts and a little bit of analysis later on,
- 1:51Speaker 2: because oh wait till January thirty.
- 1:54Speaker 4: First, you're going to see.
- 1:57Speaker 2: The exact same thing happened, except the political climate will
- 2:02Speaker 2: be very different come at the end of January. So
- 2:06Speaker 2: we've got a lot to talk about today for sure.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Just a quick hello, Will Colechsriber, Hello, Will, Good.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Morning, Bill Handle, Sir.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Hey, I had a conversation with Craig Kitchen, who is
- 2:18Speaker 2: a dear friend of mine, who was a pre who
- 2:20Speaker 2: created Premiere Radio, and he said you were one of
- 2:23Speaker 2: the very first people that he hired back.
- 2:27Speaker 4: In the day.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Kelly, Yeah, yeah yeah. And he mentioned that you
- 2:33Speaker 2: were spelt in those days.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Boy, I should have known. This is too good to
- 2:38Speaker 4: be true. Oh no, that wasn't me, That wasn't me.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I'm I'm just repeating.
- 2:43Speaker 2: What a fan of yours has said in the industry
- 2:47Speaker 2: you know, an insanely well regarded fan who everybody in
- 2:51Speaker 2: the industry knows who he is. He did hire me
- 2:53Speaker 2: when I was like twenty Yeah, when you were spelt okay, yes,
- 2:57Speaker 2: did you have hair in those days?
- 3:00Speaker 4: Yes? More? Wow, I have hair now it's growing out,
- 3:03Speaker 4: can't you see? You know it?
- 3:05Speaker 2: But it's only halfway back. I mean it looks really weird.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Your hairline literally starts halfway back.
- 3:13Speaker 5: It doesn't.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yes, it does.
- 3:15Speaker 3: As someone who's hairline does start in the back of
- 3:19Speaker 3: my head, I can say officially is does not.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Well, and I have a situation. You have a patternball
- 3:27Speaker 2: on this neil. You shave your head? I don't.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I just you know, cut it really really short.
- 3:34Speaker 5: No.
- 3:34Speaker 3: I told myself young when I had hair that when
- 3:38Speaker 3: it starts thinning, it's going I'm gonna shave it.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I'm not gonna Okay.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Daniel continued to grow it, and it looked like it
- 3:45Speaker 3: was slipping off the back of his head.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 3:47Speaker 2: It looks like a crab that's about to crawl off
- 3:49Speaker 2: the top of your head.
- 3:50Speaker 4: When did you start going bald?
- 3:54Speaker 5: It's twenty something, twenty three maybe.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, the same thing for me, same thing for me.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I started going I started going ball at about twenty
- 4:02Speaker 2: three twenty four.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Will, how about you? I'm not bald? Yeah you are.
- 4:08Speaker 4: When did you clean hair?
- 4:09Speaker 2: When your hair is halfway back where it starts, that
- 4:13Speaker 2: is bald.
- 4:14Speaker 5: When he turns to the side, you can see he
- 4:15Speaker 5: has normal hair.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeah, half way up.
- 4:20Speaker 3: This is why people think we all hate each other.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And that's true.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Friends, all right, and cono, cono, I want you to
- 4:26Speaker 2: go screw yourself.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Okay in his hair department? Oh long, get I mean.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Not even receding a little bit.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Yeah, not at all.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And thank goodness that Amory and Anne are losing their
- 4:39Speaker 2: hair and it's falling out and droves, and at least
- 4:42Speaker 2: that makes us feel better and spectacular hair.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Listen, this is no dig on ConA.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I'm just saying that I would rather not have hair
- 4:50Speaker 3: be able to sit at the adult table at Thanksgiving.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Well, let me ask you something, would you would you
- 4:55Speaker 2: rather have hair and make no money or would you
- 4:59Speaker 2: rather make a living and have no hair.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Time.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I don't miss my hair, okay, yeah, and you shave
- 5:08Speaker 2: it every day, all right? So Cono, hello, Neil, Hello Will.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We had a conversation with him, Amy good morning. Ye hey,
- 5:16Speaker 2: and the lovely and the ever.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Lovely ann oh, thank you with all my hair.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah that was said. I read that by the way. Whatever, Yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you know it's that was not spontaneous, believe me. All right, guys,
- 5:31Speaker 2: are you ready to do it? It's time for handle
- 5:35Speaker 2: on the news with Amy Neil and me lead story.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Let's make it. The Senate passed the funding bill.
- 5:45Speaker 2: It was the first procedural vote, and now it goes
- 5:49Speaker 2: they're going to vote and then it goes to the House,
- 5:52Speaker 2: where because Donald Trump is in favor of this and
- 5:55Speaker 2: thought it was a good deal, it will absolutely pass
- 5:59Speaker 2: the House. Because of course President Trump owns the House.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I mean not just influences the house, he owns the House.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So he said yay, which means it's going to be ya.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Senate and House Democrats are in an uproar. I mean
- 6:16Speaker 2: they are going berserk. They are frothing at the mouth.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And I'll talk more about that at seven o'clock because
- 6:23Speaker 2: there is a lot to say, a lot of moving
- 6:25Speaker 2: pieces on this one, all right, and that's coming up
- 6:29Speaker 2: the end of the hour.
- 6:30Speaker 7: I have a question for you, yes, ma'am, So you
- 6:33Speaker 7: said Trump owns the House?
- 6:36Speaker 4: Yes, does it.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Most don't.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Most presidents who have control of legislative bodies usually control them.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Is this is this, Yeah, it is to They would.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Have gone against Biden, no problem.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, for example, Ronald Reagan with tip O'Neil,
- 6:51Speaker 2: tip O'Neil, Democrat, who was Speaker of the House.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Tip O'Neil was not automatically in favor of the president.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Now, there are a lot of sausages made, but quite
- 7:05Speaker 2: often the House does it goes against the president and
- 7:09Speaker 2: says you're going too far.
- 7:11Speaker 4: We're not going to vote this bill. That does happen.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Very rarely does the president say jump and the speaker
- 7:19Speaker 2: says how high. Doesn't happen to this extent, this is
- 7:23Speaker 2: absolutely unique. Mike Johnson said, the House is not a
- 7:28Speaker 2: legislative body. It is here to push the agenda of
- 7:32Speaker 2: President Trump straight out. He said, we are here to
- 7:36Speaker 2: make sure the president's Trump agenda is passed.
- 7:40Speaker 4: If there is a bill that possibly.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Gets in the way it's introduced, Johnson just put doesn't
- 7:46Speaker 2: put it.
- 7:47Speaker 4: On the floor. Just doesn't put it on the floor.
- 7:49Speaker 4: It's that simple. And he has that kind of control.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So yes, you are right, just not right enough, Okay,
- 8:00Speaker 2: partially right to this extent, it's been incredible, just astounding,
- 8:07Speaker 2: all right, Moving.
- 8:08Speaker 6: On Schumer being shown the door.
- 8:12Speaker 7: Senator Chuck Schumer, of course, the minority leader in the Senate,
- 8:16Speaker 7: is facing mounting pressure to step aside as the leader
- 8:19Speaker 7: of the Senate Democratic Caucus after eight of his members
- 8:23Speaker 7: voted against his wishes and joined Republican ranks in voting
- 8:28Speaker 7: for the spending bill. Schumer, according to Representative ro Kanna,
- 8:34Speaker 7: is no longer effective and should be replaced. And also
- 8:38Speaker 7: progressive organizations are encouraging Representative Alexandrio Ocasio Cortes to run
- 8:45Speaker 7: for his Senate seat. When can you imagine next runs
- 8:47Speaker 7: for reelection?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Can you imagine that she would become a leader of
- 8:54Speaker 2: the party in the party swings that far left, that
- 8:56Speaker 2: she becomes a US Senator. Schumer seventy five four years
- 9:00Speaker 2: old and is considered old and no longer in control
- 9:05Speaker 2: of the Senate because eight senators went to the other side,
- 9:08Speaker 2: and normally a minority leader or a majority leader controls
- 9:13Speaker 2: the party.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Uh.
- 9:15Speaker 2: He on this one, he doesn't, and he's considered having
- 9:19Speaker 2: lost control, except you had eight senators that voted for
- 9:25Speaker 2: Voldemart went to the other side and voted for this
- 9:27Speaker 2: thing to stop. And I'll explain why, because the Republicans,
- 9:32Speaker 2: Republicans got everything they wanted.
- 9:34Speaker 4: The Democrats.
- 9:37Speaker 3: To Amy's point, this is why it's all silly. They're
- 9:40Speaker 3: doing the same. They're pushing out people that are independently
- 9:43Speaker 3: thinking and not going with their You wouldn't redraw the
- 9:48Speaker 3: districts if you didn't want your people in there, of course,
- 9:52Speaker 3: and your people in there unless they were going to
- 9:54Speaker 3: do what the party.
- 9:56Speaker 2: They You know, I understand, but it's different than what
- 10:00Speaker 2: because when we talk about redis when we went through Prop.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Fifty and you and I disagree on that, but Schumer,
- 10:07Speaker 2: a lot of it is the old guard. It's time
- 10:09Speaker 2: for the old guard to leave, like Nancy Pelosi left.
- 10:12Speaker 4: There's that move. Of the eight senators who did vote.
- 10:16Speaker 2: On the other side, six or not up for reelection
- 10:21Speaker 2: this midterms coming up, and two are retiring so they
- 10:23Speaker 2: have nothing to lose.
- 10:25Speaker 3: You're not putting Democrats in there so they can go
- 10:27Speaker 3: up against a Democratic president anymore than you're putting Republican
- 10:32Speaker 3: people in there in the House to go and counter
- 10:36Speaker 3: the Republican president.
- 10:37Speaker 5: That's not why, That's why you have a d n
- 10:39Speaker 5: n R behind the name.
- 10:40Speaker 3: You're trying to get your team, more of your team
- 10:43Speaker 3: in there to vote the way you want.
- 10:45Speaker 2: And this one is more anti Trump than it is
- 10:48Speaker 2: anything else.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Oh, I agree, the Democrat.
- 10:50Speaker 2: This is not the Democrats going for their position and
- 10:53Speaker 2: their philosophical position, it is it is anti Trump. Well,
- 10:57Speaker 2: not a people in their nineties. Yeah, I mean, yeah, no, no, no,
- 11:03Speaker 2: it's still seventy four. Oh you know, it's it's just
- 11:07Speaker 2: the number. Yeah, it is seventy four. That's the number.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Leave me alone with that. So anyway, I'm going to
- 11:14Speaker 2: talk more about that because there are a bunch of
- 11:16Speaker 2: political considerations going on. To the extent that he has
- 11:20Speaker 2: lost control of his party, yeah, I think the argument
- 11:23Speaker 2: flies on that one, to the extent that is time
- 11:26Speaker 2: for new leadership. Yeah, Nancy Pelosi bailed out and gave
- 11:31Speaker 2: it to Haking Jeffries.
- 11:32Speaker 4: And if you look at Hakeing Jeffries.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Speak, I mean the guy is he's a tremendous speaker.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I mean, the guy is.
- 11:40Speaker 2: There's a good reason why he is now the head
- 11:44Speaker 2: of the Democratic Party in the House.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I mean the guy Democrats are.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Putting people out that don't toe the party line. It's
- 11:51Speaker 3: all the same as what I'm saying on both sides. No,
- 11:53Speaker 3: you want to say Trump is the mastermind, Well they're not.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Throwing out no you got new no leadership that are
- 11:59Speaker 2: that's coming in there, not booting anybody out there, booting
- 12:01Speaker 2: people out, not because of the party line. What you
- 12:04Speaker 2: don't think Schumer followed the party line? I don't think
- 12:07Speaker 2: policy followed the party line. Of course they did. What
- 12:10Speaker 2: do they give their problems for? Because he has lost control,
- 12:14Speaker 2: because he should be able to control his party, much
- 12:18Speaker 2: like Mike Johnson one hundred. Oh my my light just
- 12:23Speaker 2: fell down one percent. Mike Johnson controls the House, which
- 12:27Speaker 2: is Republican and was.
- 12:30Speaker 5: A little older.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Uh yeah, all right.
- 12:32Speaker 5: All right.
- 12:33Speaker 3: The flight restrictions we've been hearing about, they're going to
- 12:35Speaker 3: increase to day.
- 12:37Speaker 5: So flights across.
- 12:39Speaker 3: The country are being reduced by six percent, and these
- 12:44Speaker 3: are orders coming from the Federal Aviation Administration. Of course,
- 12:48Speaker 3: this is despite the end to the government shut down
- 12:51Speaker 3: being hopefully fingers crossed in sight.
- 12:55Speaker 4: The first what's that six percent? Doesn't that seem a
- 12:58Speaker 4: low percentage?
- 12:59Speaker 2: Right?
- 12:59Speaker 4: Well, here's we're seeing. Here's the reality.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Though I know it seems that way at first, but
- 13:04Speaker 3: when you think of how many flights, it actually compounds.
- 13:07Speaker 3: So the first decreased flight capacity was at forty That
- 13:13Speaker 3: was high traffic airports. If you're in those forty high
- 13:16Speaker 3: traffic airports, that was.
- 13:18Speaker 2: That sorry forty airports, Yeah, forty airports.
- 13:23Speaker 3: But that that happened last Friday. So that's about four
- 13:25Speaker 3: percent reduction six am today. That increased to six percent,
- 13:31Speaker 3: with an increase to eight percent, then ten percent sex
- 13:35Speaker 3: set for six eight.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I have a question Friday, respect, I have a question both.
- 13:39Speaker 4: This is both Amy and Neil.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Now, the reason they're all shut down, of course, and
- 13:44Speaker 2: the reduction is because the staffing shortages. Air traffic controllers
- 13:48Speaker 2: just say, thank you, we have to get paid.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Do you think now that.
- 13:51Speaker 2: The shutdown is over, they are going to return to
- 13:55Speaker 2: work in big numbers knowing they're going to get their
- 13:59Speaker 2: paycheck or do you.
- 14:01Speaker 7: Think it depends because they know they're going to get
- 14:04Speaker 7: their paycheck, because that's actually in the bill that anyone
- 14:06Speaker 7: who is of course you know, didn't get paid is
- 14:08Speaker 7: going to get paid. But are they going to wait
- 14:11Speaker 7: until it's actually a done deal and they get the paycheck.
- 14:14Speaker 6: At the paychecks there behind by two now.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Right, and there are they going to make it by
- 14:18Speaker 2: the fifteenth, of course, not are they going to make
- 14:20Speaker 2: it by the thirtieth probably, But here's.
- 14:24Speaker 5: A little kink in that hose though.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Sean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary, said that fifteen to twenty
- 14:32Speaker 3: controllers are retiring per day during the right as well.
- 14:35Speaker 4: As opposed to normally four.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:37Speaker 3: So it's not like you're going to hire someone and say, hey,
- 14:40Speaker 3: you want to get hired for no money? Right, So
- 14:43Speaker 3: if you've got people retiring and you can't replace them,
- 14:46Speaker 3: there's layers to the issue.
- 14:47Speaker 7: And they may be able to say, hey, you know,
- 14:50Speaker 7: if you still want to retire, great, do it, but
- 14:52Speaker 7: why don't you wait for a month.
- 14:53Speaker 6: And I would imagine that a lot of them probably
- 14:55Speaker 6: will go okay.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Also, a lot of the top Buddy movies don't ever
- 14:59Speaker 3: stay to your retirement date.
- 15:01Speaker 4: You know, a lot of attrition.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Even when the controllers go back to full pay, it's
- 15:06Speaker 2: still mandatory sixty hour weeks and pressure, and they just
- 15:10Speaker 2: want to get the hell out. I mean they're done
- 15:12Speaker 2: and so and then the latest Trump missive if you
- 15:16Speaker 2: stay and work you get ten thousand dollars if you
- 15:19Speaker 2: still stay out, you will die.
- 15:22Speaker 4: So it's okay.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Didn't you go that far?
- 15:26Speaker 4: Oh okay, I miss get away with it. Do you remember.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Ronald Reagan fired every controller in the seventies They went
- 15:35Speaker 2: out on strike, which was illegal at the time, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: he said, you have you can't go out on strike,
- 15:41Speaker 2: and they did anyway. He fired every one of them
- 15:45Speaker 2: for life that left and didn't come back everyone, let
- 15:50Speaker 2: me tell you that. And the union disbanded of course instantly.
- 15:54Speaker 2: So you know presidents can do that. And you know,
- 15:58Speaker 2: I don't know where Trump's can get ten thousand dollars
- 16:01Speaker 2: per Well, may I'll find out.
- 16:03Speaker 4: They'll find the money.
- 16:04Speaker 7: They asked him that, They said, where are you going
- 16:06Speaker 7: to get the money? He goes to, Oh, we'll find
- 16:07Speaker 7: it somewhere.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll find it. Okay.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Hey tell you the people have snap benefits, their thrill
- 16:12Speaker 2: with that one.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Okay, Moving on.
- 16:17Speaker 7: Camp Mystic families have filed lawsuits. Three lawsuits, each seeking
- 16:23Speaker 7: more than a million dollars in damages, have now been filed.
- 16:26Speaker 7: The suits filed by the families of seven campers and
- 16:29Speaker 7: two counselors who died in that flooding that swept through
- 16:33Speaker 7: Camp Mystic in Texas over the fourth of July. The
- 16:37Speaker 7: lawsuits claim that its owners were did gross negligence and
- 16:43Speaker 7: more than two dozen campers and staffers called the Heavens
- 16:46Speaker 7: twenty seven died.
- 16:49Speaker 2: What looks like they did engage in negligence because we
- 16:52Speaker 2: now know that those cabins were in a known flood zone.
- 16:58Speaker 2: They ignored what either to the law or procedures that
- 17:03Speaker 2: you cannot put people in that flood zone.
- 17:06Speaker 7: And they did anyway, But didn't they get some sort
- 17:09Speaker 7: of an exemption or something.
- 17:10Speaker 2: They may have gotten an exemption, and I don't know
- 17:13Speaker 2: the answer to that, but still it was well known
- 17:15Speaker 2: that it is a flood zone, and that's where the
- 17:18Speaker 2: negligence takes place. Even if you have an exemption, I
- 17:22Speaker 2: think that. Well, I know that you still are You're
- 17:26Speaker 2: still mandated to be reasonable and accept what reasonability is.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You know, for example, let's say you build a building
- 17:33Speaker 2: and somehow it's not to code, but you get an
- 17:37Speaker 2: exemption and the thing falls down and code is not met.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Is that negligent?
- 17:45Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 17:45Speaker 4: I think so.
- 17:46Speaker 5: And you have to wonder if money was exchanged.
- 17:49Speaker 4: No, I'm sure money was not.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I'm sure money was not saying maybe one of those
- 17:52Speaker 2: six year old campers paid off the inspectors.
- 17:57Speaker 5: No idiot.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You know who had a lot, who had rich parents
- 18:00Speaker 2: and they had a big allowance.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Oh, I'm saying the camp if they put money.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Of course, Neil, thank you for explaining that to me.
- 18:09Speaker 5: I'm trying to speak. That's a cancer.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that's appreciated. That really is now.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Neil sometimes assumes that I have an IQ of Paul
- 18:18Speaker 2: Parr golf, and sometimes it is h.
- 18:23Speaker 5: A little distrusted me. No, I don't.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Okay, moving on this one kind.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Of confuses me. So Bill explained the law behind this.
- 18:31Speaker 3: President Donald Trump said yesterday that he was going to
- 18:35Speaker 3: ask the US Supreme Court to review the five million
- 18:38Speaker 3: dollars civil case. Yes, I found he sexually abused and
- 18:42Speaker 3: defamed magazine columnist Egen Carol.
- 18:45Speaker 5: How do you do that?
- 18:47Speaker 4: What you do is you are it is?
- 18:49Speaker 2: But the Supreme Court, Uh, you know obviously rules on
- 18:54Speaker 2: civil as well as criminal cases.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I mean they rule but the reecase.
- 18:57Speaker 3: But to review it and appeal two women who were yes, yes,
- 19:02Speaker 3: let me explain that the appeals court.
- 19:04Speaker 2: You can go directly to the Appeals Court and our
- 19:07Speaker 2: president and the president can go directly. Although this was
- 19:12Speaker 2: this was appeal, So that doesn't mean that the court's
- 19:15Speaker 2: going to take the case because again not granting cerciory.
- 19:19Speaker 2: But let me explain what the basis of his appeal is.
- 19:23Speaker 2: He is saying that the judge allowing two women who
- 19:26Speaker 2: had nothing to do with the case testify about the
- 19:30Speaker 2: sexual misconduct that Trump did committed against them, and what
- 19:35Speaker 2: he is arguing is that is so prejudicial that it
- 19:40Speaker 2: it tainted the jury. In other words, it was not
- 19:43Speaker 2: probative enough. It was more prejudicial than it was for
- 19:46Speaker 2: a fact. Now you can argue that. However, you can
- 19:50Speaker 2: also bring in witnesses based on the fact that it's
- 19:54Speaker 2: a pattern to prove a pattern of what he did.
- 19:58Speaker 2: That's what the court is going to determine. Was it
- 20:00Speaker 2: enough to prove a pattern, did it fit that model,
- 20:03Speaker 2: or was it too prejudicial. And one of the reasons
- 20:06Speaker 2: why prisoners or defendants and criminal cases always wear a
- 20:11Speaker 2: suit when they're in front of a jury, they do
- 20:13Speaker 2: not wear prison guard because that's so prejudicial. So that
- 20:18Speaker 2: is the basis of this basically lawsuit. Also, the judge
- 20:23Speaker 2: should have not let the jersey the Access Hollywood tape
- 20:27Speaker 2: which captured Trump in two thousand and five. Remember that
- 20:30Speaker 2: hot Mike saying he gropes and kisses women. Remember that
- 20:34Speaker 2: one the Access Hollywood that just before the election that
- 20:38Speaker 2: was released that was too prejudicial, that that tainted the jury.
- 20:43Speaker 2: That's the basis of those appeals. Okay, did that help?
- 20:50Speaker 4: It did? Okay, thank you, Okay, you're welcome. Not a problem.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Charges will stand.
- 20:56Speaker 7: You will recall Fraser Bone, who's now twenty four, is
- 21:01Speaker 7: charged with four counts of murder and vehicular manslaughter tied
- 21:05Speaker 7: to a crash on PCH in Malibu in October of
- 21:09Speaker 7: twenty twenty three, that stretch of the highways known as
- 21:11Speaker 7: dead Man's Curve. He crashed into some parked cars. Those
- 21:15Speaker 7: cars then crashed into four Pepperdine University sorority sisters who died.
- 21:22Speaker 7: He's got a new lawyer, and his lawyer tried to
- 21:25Speaker 7: argue to the judge yesterday that speed alone is not
- 21:28Speaker 7: implied malice, so the murder charges should be dismissed.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:32Speaker 6: A judge listened to it and said, nope, it can
- 21:34Speaker 6: go forward.
- 21:35Speaker 4: That's correct, And I'll tell you why.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Implied malice means you act in such a way even
- 21:40Speaker 2: though you don't intend to kill someone. Specifically, what you're
- 21:44Speaker 2: doing is so reckless that any reasonable person would know
- 21:47Speaker 2: that you probably will or could kill someone. Shooting into
- 21:51Speaker 2: a crowd, for example, with the weapon, you're not aiming
- 21:55Speaker 2: at anyone. Usually murder means you are trying to kill someone. Well,
- 22:00Speaker 2: this one is. It didn't matter. And what the argument
- 22:04Speaker 2: is that his attorney is making is just speed alone
- 22:07Speaker 2: is not implied malice.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Oh, yes it is.
- 22:10Speaker 2: He was going so quickly one hundred and four miles
- 22:14Speaker 2: an hour that imls that implied malice flies.
- 22:17Speaker 4: That's why the judge said, oh, you're dreaming.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Speed alone in this case is implied malice, which is
- 22:24Speaker 2: the law.
- 22:25Speaker 4: So that didn't fly, nor should it have flied? Flown?
- 22:30Speaker 4: Should shouldn't have flied? Okay, flow own end flown flown?
- 22:36Speaker 6: And yeah I flied to Portland.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Yeah all right.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Rose Bowl still going back and forth with UCLA and
- 22:45Speaker 3: its desire at least inquiring about the ability to move
- 22:50Speaker 3: to Sofi Stadium. So the city of Pasadena and the
- 22:54Speaker 3: organization Rose Bull Operating Company just yesterday are trying to
- 22:59Speaker 3: put together this pulling andary injunction and tro the temporary
- 23:03Speaker 3: restraining order to prevent UCLA from leaving the Rose Bowl
- 23:07Speaker 3: or terminating the lease that they have with the stadium
- 23:10Speaker 3: that goes through twenty forty three.
- 23:13Speaker 2: So this is just you know, divorce is ugly, yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 2: or it's just a straight breach your contract issue. And
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm going to talk more about that at eight thirty.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Let's do one more before we take a break.
- 23:25Speaker 7: Sh Warren Buffett said he's going quiet soon. He put
- 23:32Speaker 7: out his annual message a CEO of Berkshire Hathaway to
- 23:37Speaker 7: his shareholders, which he's been doing since nineteen sixty five.
- 23:39Speaker 7: He says he's going to go quiet after he steps
- 23:41Speaker 7: down at the end of this year. He said he
- 23:43Speaker 7: will no longer write that message for the annual report,
- 23:46Speaker 7: but he will still deliver an annual Thanksgiving message and
- 23:49Speaker 7: is going to step up his efforts to give away
- 23:51Speaker 7: his fortune one hundred and forty nine billion dollars in
- 23:54Speaker 7: Berkshire Hathaway stock.
- 23:55Speaker 2: And he's ninety five years old and could still continue working,
- 24:00Speaker 2: but he said that's enough.
- 24:02Speaker 3: The best advice if you want to teach your kids
- 24:06Speaker 3: about taxes, paying taxes eight thirty percent of their ice cream.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yes, well said that's great. Yeah, but ninety five.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I mean.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Story about the ninety five year old going to the.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Doctor, the urologist, and saying, doctor, I'm having a very
- 24:27Speaker 2: hard time peeing. How old are you? I'm ninety five.
- 24:30Speaker 2: You've peid enough. And that's the issue with Warren Buffett.
- 24:36Speaker 2: He's peat enough, he's sort of done it.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Okay, all right, You've got authorities pursuing a stolen van
- 24:43Speaker 3: through four southern California counties. That chase started at the
- 24:47Speaker 3: one eighteen Freeway and then it continued east before a
- 24:53Speaker 3: driver merged under the four or five freeway. C HP
- 24:56Speaker 3: unit start in the pursuit at the Supulvita Pass and
- 25:00Speaker 3: then it continued on to the four h five. The
- 25:02Speaker 3: seven to ten ended up in in Orange County by
- 25:06Speaker 3: the end of it, and they used multiple spike strips.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know that they caught them. Oh yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 4: they it ended up ending.
- 25:17Speaker 5: But I don't know.
- 25:19Speaker 7: Is this the one that no, she escaped into Mexicans
- 25:21Speaker 7: in Mexico, crossed the border and she got out.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Yeah. I was looking at this. Wait, how could you order?
- 25:29Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 25:29Speaker 6: I don't know, because don't you have to stop?
- 25:31Speaker 4: Isn't there's a traffic Yeah? She By the way, she
- 25:35Speaker 4: never broke the speed limit.
- 25:37Speaker 2: You're talking about a driver that was zipping along on.
- 25:39Speaker 4: The speed limit, which is uh. I've never seen that happen.
- 25:43Speaker 3: It was apparently a stolen vehicle, but it wasn't like
- 25:45Speaker 3: a car jacking or anything like that speed.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I didn't see the end of it. So she just disappeared.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Is that what happened with the van?
- 25:54Speaker 7: I don't cross the border and they haven't taken her
- 25:56Speaker 7: into custody.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but she was out of thousand oaks.
- 26:01Speaker 6: It was a three hour chase.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Just okay.
- 26:05Speaker 7: I normally would put this in handle on the news,
- 26:07Speaker 7: a car chase that, but this is why, because it's crazy,
- 26:10Speaker 7: nuts nuts.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Nuts.
- 26:14Speaker 5: I wonder if she was here illegally.
- 26:17Speaker 7: I think it's interesting though, because you know, if she
- 26:19Speaker 7: was trying to get back in, there would have been
- 26:21Speaker 7: a long, huge line.
- 26:22Speaker 6: But apparently we just let people out.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Well, you can go to Mexico, no problem, Yeah, Mexico.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Mexico doesn't care. Oh, here is a story.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Amy Sicko has been snagged.
- 26:35Speaker 7: I used to live in a sorority house and I
- 26:37Speaker 7: would this would have been really freaky.
- 26:39Speaker 5: We're listening.
- 26:40Speaker 7: But over the Halloween weekend, a guy in a ski
- 26:43Speaker 7: mask slipped around through bedrooms and lurked in showers and
- 26:48Speaker 7: the dead of night. It happened between three and six
- 26:51Speaker 7: thirty in the morning on November first, so after everybody
- 26:54Speaker 7: had been out partying for Halloween. One woman was awakened
- 26:58Speaker 7: by a dark figure near her. Another woman was in
- 27:01Speaker 7: the shower when the guy went and peeped on her.
- 27:05Speaker 6: Then they yes.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Why don't we ever get his side of the story?
- 27:09Speaker 2: There? You know?
- 27:09Speaker 4: There? I mean there, you know what do we know? What?
- 27:13Speaker 7: Well?
- 27:13Speaker 4: I just want to be fair with the lost keys.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean whatever, I mean, don't you know you
- 27:18Speaker 2: can don't try it till you've you know, until you've
- 27:21Speaker 2: you know, don't I until you've tried.
- 27:22Speaker 5: It at least don't know that that's the right thing here.
- 27:25Speaker 7: He has tried it several times because he's got a
- 27:28Speaker 7: criminal record dating back to nineteen ninety eight. Yeah, okay,
- 27:32Speaker 7: Burglary saw, all right, the deadly weapon threats evading police.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Okay, So the presumption, the presumption is against him. Okay,
- 27:41Speaker 2: I'll agree.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Geez, I'll allow it.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Wow, all right?
- 27:50Speaker 4: Uh so that comment or not comment or whatever? U
- 27:54Speaker 4: what is it?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Three?
- 27:55Speaker 4: I atlas.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Is that what it was?
- 27:57Speaker 3: It ended the debate apparently about it. It's nature through
- 28:01Speaker 3: a radio signal, now not a radio signal in the
- 28:04Speaker 3: sense that it was transmitting these are kind of this
- 28:10Speaker 3: is I can't get into the technical stuff for two reasons.
- 28:12Speaker 3: One I don't know if it's that interesting and two
- 28:15Speaker 3: I don't know that I understand it. But they can
- 28:17Speaker 3: tell by the signal as to what it might be.
- 28:21Speaker 3: And they said it was consistent with a typical comment activity.
- 28:24Speaker 2: So all right, let me, let me, let me neil,
- 28:27Speaker 2: let me explain this. Okay, I want to dive into this. Okay,
- 28:30Speaker 2: it's a comment, thank you, it's a comment, all.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Right, and they are positive it's not Cupid or Rudolph,
- 28:39Speaker 3: so that's correct.
- 28:40Speaker 4: A little early for that.
- 28:43Speaker 6: Gary Channon are gonna be really bummed about this. They've
- 28:45Speaker 6: been following this.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Comment, I know, and the conspiracy theorists of course have
- 28:48Speaker 2: gone crazy as always.
- 28:50Speaker 4: One last story.
- 28:51Speaker 7: Here fees finally coming down, well or are they so?
- 28:57Speaker 7: Under an agreement Beaston MasterCard has settled with merchants, offering
- 29:01Speaker 7: stores more flexibility on accepting customer payments, and under the agreement,
- 29:06Speaker 7: the payment companies will lower credit card interchange fees. Those
- 29:11Speaker 7: are the fees that stores paid to swipe the cards.
- 29:13Speaker 7: You know, sometimes they go, oh, we're going to charge
- 29:15Speaker 7: a two and a half percent p.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Right have three percent? Yeah?
- 29:18Speaker 7: Yeah, So it's the company's interchange fees are going down
- 29:23Speaker 7: by zero point one percent.
- 29:26Speaker 4: That's huge point right.
- 29:28Speaker 6: Point percentage point for five years.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Uh yeah, there's one percent. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Point
- 29:36Speaker 2: one percent? But when they're paying two percent, when card
- 29:41Speaker 2: members are paying two percent or in the ones which
- 29:44Speaker 2: they do with this huge volume, Yeah, it's indifference.
- 29:47Speaker 7: And they've been fighting this. They've been fighting this out
- 29:49Speaker 7: for twenty years. Twenty years of litigation.
- 29:52Speaker 4: I know. I mean, just yeah, just completely crazy stuff.
- 29:55Speaker 4: All right, guys, we are done. This is KFI A
- 29:59Speaker 4: M six. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
