- 0:06Ten Wi BA and ask the experts, joined this morning by the one and
- 0:11only Andrew Larson of Larsnome Services. Yes there are other Andrew Larson's, but
- 0:15only one Andrew Larson with Arsenal Services. How you bet, my friend?
- 0:19You know, I was literally when you said that, I was like,
- 0:21man, there's so many Andrew Larson not even funny. Is that a blessing
- 0:25or a curse? It doesn't bother me, It doesn't. There's just a
- 0:30lot of you. Yeah, just back from Canada, uh doing a little
- 0:37R and R doing some muskie fishing. Pretty epic time. It was.
- 0:43It was great to be there fishing. It's it's great to be back at
- 0:46the grind. But I can tell you when I was on my way up
- 0:49there, some of the people listening probably heard of Boddet, Minnesota. But
- 0:54we drive to Boddet and that's where we launch our boats. And we got
- 0:57there lates. We stayed the night and as we're sitting there and we're you
- 1:02know, maybe having an adult beverage and sharing some pizza. Wisconsin is getting
- 1:08crushed with some storms. Most of them hit real bad up in the Lacrosse
- 1:14area Holman West Salem, which for a lot of people might not know we
- 1:19actually have a location up there. But then Wisconsin, Dell's poisonette reads burg
- 1:25Baboo, bad bad wind. So I'm just sitting there the anxiety levels going
- 1:30up. I'm not here, that's happening there. But the amazing thing is
- 1:34is then I just had to sit back and go wait a second. That's
- 1:37why we have an awesome team. They're on it. Like as I'm sitting
- 1:42there watching it, I'm getting messages from my sales manager, my assistant sales
- 1:47manager, like this is what we're doing. We're heading out there. We're
- 1:51gonna get you boots on the ground and start hitting some damage head on.
- 1:55So it kind of put me at ease a little bit. But sometimes I
- 1:59can be a little bit of a I don't know, control free well,
- 2:05and you love what you do, and I know we've we've talked about a
- 2:07little bit about your history and when you founded Larsnome Services. You know the
- 2:12importance of having your name behind the business and your touch on everything that you
- 2:16guys do at Larsnome Services. As we talk with Andrew this morning, website
- 2:20Larsenhome Services dot com. That's l A. R. S. O.
- 2:23N home Services dot Com. That's Larsenome Services dot Com. More importantly this
- 2:28morning at telephone number six O eight five three five forty three forty three.
- 2:31That's five three five four three four three, So Andrew. So folks in
- 2:37those affected areas, and if people can hear our voice, if you are
- 2:39in those affected areas, Larsennome Services can can help you. What should they
- 2:45be doing today? How does kind of how does that process work when it
- 2:46comes to when storms roll through, because this has been a weird year where
- 2:50we haven't had many of those. As a refresher no, I mean West
- 2:53Salem area people obviously, well maybe they can hear us. I don't know
- 2:57if they listen from that far away, but they got they got hit with
- 3:02like softball baseball size hail. So that's a no brainer. Now leading into
- 3:08the show, I heard Ham's Arborcare commercial with tree limbs and they can clean
- 3:14up, and I'm like, well that's perfect because great company. They're going
- 3:17to take care of you. My biggest thing with anxiety when stuff like this
- 3:21happens is, you know, over the past thirteen fourteen years, a storm
- 3:25will come through, people will get damage. Somebody from out of town will
- 3:29come knock on their door. They'll be like, oh yeah, take a
- 3:30look. We don't want our customers to get taken advantage of. We don't
- 3:37want our customers to make a deal with somebody who's going to put something lesser
- 3:40on their home than they already have. So that's why we really want to
- 3:44try to get there now. For people in our area. There are a
- 3:46lot of especially where I live Lodi, pointing that around here, a lot
- 3:51of trees down, a lot of tree limb damage. So that can be
- 3:54kind of a sticky wicket, like when it comes to an insurance claim,
- 3:58because sometimes the damage isn't worth filing a claim, you know what I mean,
- 4:05Like, Okay, so a tree limb falls, it falls on the
- 4:09house, it hits the gutter, smashes the gutter, and it scrapes up
- 4:13some shingles. The great part about what we do now the product we use
- 4:19now gutter shutter, And we've already had a couple of calls. You know,
- 4:21with our old product, it was all one piece, it was all
- 4:24seamless, which was cool, but if if a tree limb hit it a
- 4:29sixty foot piece, you'd have to replace a sixty foot piece now with gutter
- 4:33shutter, we've had a few instances already where a tree limb has hit one
- 4:38section. It didn't damage the gutter because of how strong the brackets are and
- 4:42how strong the hood is. So for two hundred fifty three hundred bucks,
- 4:45we just go out. There's a trip charge, a price for the hood.
- 4:47We go out and we replace the hood. You know, there's no
- 4:49insurance claim filed. It's easy peasy. I've talked earlier a couple of times
- 4:55this year about our roof restoration process. Now, this roof restoration proces says
- 5:00can come in huge if you have treelimb damage where you don't need to replace
- 5:04your whole roof, it's just one section. And is it worth filing an
- 5:10insurance claim? That's usually up in the air. If you come out and
- 5:13you do a roof restoration for you know, two thousand dollars. Maybe you
- 5:16got a hole in your roof, limb came down, put a hole in
- 5:18your roof, or it came down it it just wrecked a bunch of shingles.
- 5:23Well, we can come out and we can replace that area. Replace
- 5:27that would get you back to new you know, maybe you're deductibles ad or
- 5:30fifteen hundred, and maybe that process costs two thousand. That's not worth filing
- 5:36an insurance claim. That's not worth raising your rate to file an insurance claim.
- 5:41So I think, personally, if if I've got some tree limb damage
- 5:46on my roof or on my gutters, first I'm going to call a reputal
- 5:50company. I'm probably gonna calm us. I'm gonna have us come out and
- 5:54take a look at it, assess the situation. Our reps are going to
- 5:57be able to let you know if it's worth filing an insurance claimer not.
- 6:00And that's where I would start. One of the things I love too with
- 6:03that. As you mentioned, sometimes you know, obviously if you have significant
- 6:08damage, it's definitely worth getting insurance involved and filing a claim. If it's
- 6:13something small, you know, a few shingles here, a few shingles area
- 6:15mentioned things like maybe some minor damage. One of the things that you guys
- 6:19do at large storm services that not a lot of. You mentioned the roof
- 6:23restoration, the roof refresh that is a big deal. And you mentioned not
- 6:27having to file a claim because oftentimes obviously there's there's costs that go along with
- 6:30filing that claim that I'm cornclin happens to your rates and months and years and
- 6:34we all know what goes on there. They get their money back, yes,
- 6:38put it that way. Yes, they've got a lot, a lot
- 6:40of real nice buildings. I've known somebody's going to get their money back one
- 6:44where. Yes, exactly. Uh. And so that's been that's been a
- 6:47bit of a game changer, hasn't it. It really has. I mean,
- 6:51we're going out to houses and something that we're offering right now, we're
- 6:55offering we just do it. So even if we're just going out for a
- 6:59gutter shutter estimate, you know, when we do that, we get up
- 7:01and we inspect your gutters. You know, we just take a look at
- 7:04exactly what's going on. We're not just going to throw you an estimate.
- 7:08We want to make sure that the face is good, like every everything's okay.
- 7:11And sometimes we can reuse down spouts and we want to inspect them.
- 7:14So since we're already going to be up there, what we're doing now is
- 7:16we're basically doing a seventeen point roof inspection just for the homeowner, just for
- 7:20their information, because nobody ever gets their roof inspected unless it's leaking or it
- 7:30looks like it's ready, it's deteriorating and it's ready to go. You just
- 7:33don't think about it your roof. It's just there and it's something you hope
- 7:36you never have to worry about. But if we can come out hop up
- 7:40to a seventeen point inspection, hopefully everything's a okay, nothing you have to
- 7:44worry about. But if there is some areas of concerns, we're gonna let
- 7:46you know about it and just let you know what it would cost to restore
- 7:50those areas. And I mean sometimes gets you five, ten, fifteen years
- 7:55more life out of your roof because the shingles are fine. There's just certain
- 7:59areas usually pipe flashings, chimney flashings, things like that that will not last
- 8:03as long as your actual shingles will. So that's just something we're doing with
- 8:09any gut or estimate, with any roof estimate, we're doing that for the
- 8:13homeowner, and most times we find nothing wrong. But if we do,
- 8:18now you know and you know, and then it's just up to the homeowner
- 8:20if they want to move forward with getting that stuff restored or you don't just
- 8:24leave it the way it is and you've mentioned in the past. You know,
- 8:26obviously the no cost estimate, having that that seventeen point inspection the one
- 8:31thing you and you brought this up in the past. I think it's important
- 8:33to highlight one of the difficulties with damage to your roof is oftentimes as homeowners,
- 8:39you don't realize there's damage until it's costly, until it's something significant.
- 8:43Having you guys from larg Stone Services out to do that inspection, to do
- 8:46that seventeen point inspection and of course get that estimate or or that assessment of
- 8:50that roof, that can save tens of thousands of dollars in some cases simply
- 8:56having having you guys come out and if there is a minor repair, need
- 9:00to get that done before it ever becomes an issue that the homeowner is even
- 9:03aware of. Yeah, that happens most of I mean really really, if
- 9:09your shingles are shot, for the most part, you can see it.
- 9:13Yeah, But so sometimes you have degranulization where you mean the shingle mattings baked
- 9:20and the granules are falling off, and honestly from the ground to an untrained
- 9:22eye you really can't tell. But shingles these nowadays like they've really gotten the
- 9:26recipe talent. Like most companies are making really good shingles. And we know
- 9:31GIF is making a really good shingle because they will literally back it non pro
- 9:35rated for fifty years. So it's the other things. Like I've mentioned time
- 9:39and time again, you put the best shingle in the world on your roof.
- 9:43If the little things aren't done properly, it will leak, it will
- 9:46not last. And that's what we see. We see good shingles put on
- 9:52improperly. The little thing's not done right. Our guys are trained to be
- 9:56able to go up and pick that stuff out and if we can, you
- 9:58know, for a few dollars dollars or a couple thousand dollars, sometimes we
- 10:01can go and we can fix four or five things and just restore that with
- 10:07your shingles that are already good. Well, now we've just saved you a
- 10:11ton of money in the future and bought you a lot of time on that
- 10:15roof. Because usually those things that we can find in those inspections are going
- 10:18to lead to a leak if they're not already a lot of times we'll find
- 10:22something and then we'll ask to we get in the attic and look and low
- 10:24and behold. It is already actually leaking, but it hasn't leaked bad enough
- 10:28where it's gotten through the insulation, where it's got through the sheet rock.
- 10:31So that's happened quite often. Today it's in. Today is the day to
- 10:35pick up the phone and give Andrew and the team at Larson Home Service as
- 10:37a call. They'd love to inspector, I love to take a look and
- 10:39make sure everything's performing properly. And of course, if repair us are needed,
- 10:43work with you. If the insurance company is needed, work with them
- 10:46as well. But again, it's an important time right now to give him
- 10:50a call. Larsnome Services, we've had a peculiar summer, which means we're
- 10:54probably overdue for some more storms and more rain. He definitely don't want to
