- 0:00Here's to you. It's supported by One Life
- 0:02Spirits. One Life Spirits is built on
- 0:04purpose, culture, good people and good drinks so you can live
- 0:08one life to the fullest. That means shots that are
- 0:11smooth, tasteful, and pair perfectly with a lime.
- 0:14Or our favorite, in orange. Because if you're still chasing
- 0:17tequila with a lime, what are you doing?
- 0:20That orange slice brings out the bright citrus notes of Una Vida
- 0:24Blanco, which is smooth, authentic and tasteful.
- 0:27Like myself. Plus, Una Vida is 100% additive
- 0:31free, so you're enjoying tequila in its purest form without the
- 0:35hangover regret. Yeah, because it takes us three
- 0:38to five business days to recover now, and hang side is not my
- 0:41friend. That's why you should stick with
- 0:44una Vida or try cocktails instead of shots.
- 0:47OK, love a little. One Life Spirits also crafts El
- 0:50Drago High Post vodkas and LeBron whiskey all bold, smooth
- 0:54and made to share. Whether it's game night, date
- 0:56night or just Tuesday night, they've got the pores covered.
- 1:00Because it's not just about taste, but it's about that
- 1:02feeling. And we're proud spirits knobs.
- 1:05So treat yourself. Visit onelifespirits.com, swing
- 1:09by the One Life Spirits bar inside of El Primo, or grab a
- 1:12bottle at your local liquor store.
- 1:15Cheers. Hopefully you've been recording
- 1:19this whole damn thing. We're recording video.
- 1:21We're not recording this conversation yet.
- 1:23I don't think so. Right.
- 1:24The combo on the mics isn't being recorded yet.
- 1:27It is. Oh OK.
- 1:28Oh thank God. Me popping my neck so I can get
- 1:31ready to say my shit. So real estate people who always
- 1:37who will be like hey I will buy your home as is at current state
- 1:42full cash and I'm just like fuck you dude.
- 1:45Does my house look like shit? Does my house look like it's for
- 1:48sale? And does it look like it's
- 1:50shitty? Yeah.
- 1:51And then when it says as is, you're kind of, you're kind of
- 1:53like, shut the fuck up. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:55What do you? Mean as?
- 1:56What do you mean by as is? Yeah, it's kind of like, I know
- 1:59it's tiny. I know that I couldn't work on
- 2:01my siding. I know, I know that I could.
- 2:04I could use a paint job, new Windows, but fuck you don't be
- 2:09telling me that. Oh my God, that's hilarious.
- 2:13Yeah, yeah. Welcome back to segment #2,
- 2:17where we've got the music connection going, we've got the
- 2:21drinks flowing, and we are saying FU to the United States
- 2:27Postal Service. And Realtors.
- 2:29And Realtors. Which we do have some real
- 2:32estate investors on the next episode.
- 2:34Our houses are not for sale. That's why there's no affordable
- 2:37housing. Yeah, users leave.
- 2:39Ask them why they do that. Why do they do that?
- 2:41Why do you say you want to buy my house as is like what's the
- 2:44like? I don't get it.
- 2:45I'm. A say that I'm bring that up and
- 2:47oh, just you wait. I can't wait, I'm going to fuck
- 2:50them on the edge of my seat. I have a meeting with them
- 2:54tomorrow. So, fantasy, what was the name
- 2:56of this drink? It is called the Advocate's
- 2:59phase. It's kind of like a highball
- 3:03that you could not order at the bartender place because I've I
- 3:07added some interesting things in here.
- 3:09I so Sarah was like, hey, I really like a vodka soda and I'm
- 3:14like, that sounds basic as hell, but that tells me that you like
- 3:17savory and you like fizzy and you like vodka.
- 3:21So let's figure this out. I feel like I've just been
- 3:24exposed. That's basic as hell.
- 3:26So are you? Like we do, we won't make basic
- 3:32drinks, but sometimes like we've already had some of them that
- 3:35I'm just like, we should probably do something else.
- 3:37So I cannot go to the bar and say hi.
- 3:39I'd like an advocates fizz. They'd be like, what the fuck
- 3:43are you talking about? Get the fuck out of here.
- 3:44OK? Got it.
- 3:45No, you can't, advocates. You should have just said.
- 3:48You should have told me. Yeah, I ordered this at Emerson
- 3:52Biggins last week. Make sure you tell them that.
- 3:54And then and then I would have and then I would have done it
- 3:56and that would have been really funny.
- 3:57I should have just to embarrass you.
- 4:00Yeah, yeah, I'm not that fucked up talking.
- 4:03About it would have been hilarious, actually.
- 4:04I would have been like, man, so it's not a real thing, Yeah.
- 4:07Damn it, right? No, actually, I think I am.
- 4:10So we have, of course, you know, this is made with high post
- 4:14vodka from one life spirits. And like, we have Tati who's
- 4:18been making a lot of like, really cool drinks and she's
- 4:21been posting them on Instagram, TikTok.
- 4:23And it's called a drink with Tati that I'm starting to think,
- 4:26like, I think I'm just going to go make the drinks that she's
- 4:28making. And then I'll just like, be able
- 4:30to easily, like, go back and forth.
- 4:33So shout out to Tati, this is not what you did, but this is
- 4:35what I'm going to start doing later on to make my life a year.
- 4:37I saw her last week and I told her thank you.
- 4:40Yeah, yeah. I'm like, I think I'm a yeah, no
- 4:42shout out to Tati, man. She's she's a real MVP.
- 4:44She's the one that's she's in behind the scenes that made a
- 4:47lot of things happen that she doesn't even know she did.
- 4:50There you go. But yeah, no, there's some
- 4:54lychee puree in here. There's some fresh celery juice,
- 4:58there's some lime juice. There was supposed to be olive
- 5:02brine but I forgot it. And club soda.
- 5:07So yeah, it there's still like some savoriness, but there's
- 5:11also a little bit of like behind the scenes sweet stuff.
- 5:16I give it, I give it an A+ and I would order this at a
- 5:19restaurant. Yeah, if, if, if you didn't
- 5:23forget the olives, because the olives would would make it
- 5:29really. Well, I, I ordered real olives.
- 5:32I say give me a give me olives and a lime and I'll put both
- 5:35olives and a lime in my vodka sodas.
- 5:38Yeah. That's why I knew I fucked up
- 5:41because I I, I have started to like level up these drinks by
- 5:45going. I don't know what the fuck I'm
- 5:46going doing guys. Just I want to remind everybody
- 5:49that I am an amateur. I don't know what I'm doing.
- 5:51This is just for fun. I just like cheersing to people
- 5:54and I like a good cocktail that's.
- 5:55Certainly looks like you knew what you were doing.
- 5:57I mean, at this point I've just shaken a lot of things.
- 6:02What I was trying to get that was olives would actually taking
- 6:06it to the next level would make it seem like Also, when is the
- 6:09shrimp cocktail gonna get here? Yeah.
- 6:11Yeah, nice cold shrimp cocktail. This is the vibe.
- 6:15If we were like a Newport, this is a Newport type of we should
- 6:21go to Newport again and fuck shit up.
- 6:23Like we did that at one time, that was.
- 6:25Friday Friday afternoon evenings, happy hour.
- 6:28That that's when we did it. No, we did it.
- 6:30We didn't even go for fucking happy hour.
- 6:32They had the late night happy hour.
- 6:34Oh, they did. That's why we.
- 6:36Went I don't know if they still do it.
- 6:37But I do Friday, I go to on Fridays happy hour.
- 6:40They still do late. Nights and I don't know, I I go
- 6:42to bed very early guys. I don't do any late night
- 6:45things. Yeah, we will.
- 6:46We'll do. The late night is like their
- 6:47last hour that they're open. Oh yeah, no thank you.
- 6:50I go at 5530 and then I leave at 7:30 and I'm already ready for
- 6:55bed. Oh, I love that.
- 6:58Yeah, I mean, like, we don't like really go out, out.
- 7:02I have a bad habit of getting drunk at places that I shouldn't
- 7:06be getting drunk at. Like.
- 7:08Newport. If you were drunk at Newport,
- 7:12there was a lady that was, Oh my God, there was a lady that was
- 7:14drunk at Newport the last time I was there probably.
- 7:17Me. No kidding.
- 7:20What did she do? She was an older lady and she
- 7:23did something that was so fucking hilarious.
- 7:25She ran into the door she was going to leave and then instead
- 7:29of grabbing the handle to pull or push, she just walked right
- 7:32into it. And I literally, I thought it
- 7:35was a joke and then I then I realized she was legit drunk and
- 7:38I was like, Oh my God. And it was 6536 o'clock on a
- 7:42Friday, people. Like that?
- 7:44Good for her, yeah. So yeah, I mean.
- 7:48She probably well rested come Saturday morning.
- 7:50Yeah, hey, I have my 8:00 AM Saturday morning workout so I
- 7:55yes, I am well rested when I get home.
- 7:58I work out at the Y every Saturday at 8:00 in the morning
- 8:02and I'm not sweating out my toxins from the night before.
- 8:06Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I like to sweat out the bad
- 8:09decisions and then do them again.
- 8:11Exactly. It's a cycle.
- 8:13It's a mental cycle to where like, I know I had to work out
- 8:16this morning if I wanted to drink today and then tonight.
- 8:20That's fair. So that's fair.
- 8:21I purposefully like had to push myself to do that.
- 8:24Yeah, I think like we got to stop limiting ourself.
- 8:27It's that 8020 rule, honestly. That's the 8020 rule.
- 8:30Well, that's how like, cuz I think like when people go really
- 8:34deep on a like diet and they go 100% in, that's how they burn
- 8:38out. Oh yeah.
- 8:39Or, or even working out, you're gonna burn out if you go 100%
- 8:42in. Yeah.
- 8:43Like, and by that I mean, if you do 8020 of like you're eating
- 8:4880% of the time, healthy, 20% of the time you are enjoying
- 8:53yourself as in like whatever that means, whatever thing you
- 8:59like to eat that is technically not within your macros or your
- 9:03diet or whatever, you're not restricting yourself.
- 9:06So you're not hating your life. And so I mean, that's how you're
- 9:10able to keep up with things. So like, yeah, Monday through
- 9:13Friday, I'm 100% macros on. I have, I have everything
- 9:17measured out. I know exactly what I'm doing.
- 9:18I know exactly what I'm eating. I know what time I'm eating at
- 9:21all that stuff. And I'm working out and I'm
- 9:24going hard. And then weekend hits and I'm
- 9:27not fucking it all up. I'm still 8020.
- 9:29So like, I'll still have like my breakfast, my lunch, maybe a
- 9:32snack, but then I'll have a dinner that I want to do.
- 9:35Yeah. That I'm not thinking about.
- 9:37That's awesome. And I'll have a couple of drinks
- 9:39that I don't need to think about.
- 9:42I'm like a 20/20/2020 twenty person like I'm just I'm all
- 9:46over the fucking place. That's fair.
- 9:50That's fair. Yeah.
- 9:51But Speaking of, well, it's not being all over the place.
- 9:55OK, Right before we left, there were some really good things
- 9:58that you were saying and I was going to ask you and yes, I'm
- 10:00going to be that one. I already forgot for our non
- 10:04Spanish speakers. How do you say I already forgot
- 10:07in Laos? Like Liam Lau.
- 10:11There you go. Beautiful.
- 10:12Yeah, say. It say it again.
- 10:14Koi Lim Lao. Koi Lim Lao.
- 10:17I've had one client in my history from Laos.
- 10:20Did I say it? Oh, really?
- 10:21She was on a fiance? Who?
- 10:22She was here on a fiance visa, Yeah.
- 10:25How do you get a fiance visa? You meet.
- 10:30USCIS. You meet AUS citizen first.
- 10:33Oh yeah, you say let me see your US password, let me see your US
- 10:36birth certificate, and then you form a love relationship and
- 10:41then you come to the US and then you got to get married within 90
- 10:46days, which is 90 Day Fiance. Have you ever seen that show?
- 10:51I've only heard, I've never actually watched it.
- 10:54The drama is real and we see it everyday.
- 10:57I started, I, I never have watched it, but you know how
- 10:59like in 2020, Big Ed and that one girl, Oh yeah, it went
- 11:04viral. Big Ed is the one that has like
- 11:07his. Hair sickness, yeah.
- 11:08The thickness, yeah, I was going to say the one that has no neck.
- 11:10Yes, OK. Being kind, I know, right?
- 11:14And I was like, I've already almost done with my first drink
- 11:17so sorry I. Don't want to?
- 11:20Be kind. No more kindness here.
- 11:22No, I decided, so you know, there was a lot of really funny
- 11:26memes and I, and at first like the memes and plus surreals
- 11:29seemed like her name is Rose, seemed like Rose was an issue
- 11:33and then like she was really rude to him.
- 11:35You know, at least that's the perception I got with watching
- 11:38them. And so then recently, it was
- 11:40sometime this year, I decided to go watch it.
- 11:43And so I went to watch it and honestly, Ed was kind of a Dick
- 11:47to her. Like for real, a lot of her
- 11:49reactions make sense. I never watched that season.
- 11:52I watched the OG seasons, like first 2345 seasons I watched and
- 11:59the first season is the best. But that's just my opinion.
- 12:02But we're always asking our clients.
- 12:05You ever thought about, I don't know, maybe applying for 90 Day
- 12:07Fiance and they're like, we actually some of our clients are
- 12:10like we actually did apply but we didn't get it.
- 12:13And I'm like, damn it. That's funny, yeah, because then
- 12:15you guys could be on it. Yeah, we would be their
- 12:17attorneys. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:19You'd be good on camera, obviously.
- 12:22Obviously. Tell me.
- 12:24What you want to look at? I love it.
- 12:30I love when the girl loves herself I.
- 12:32Actually have been been seeing you everywhere on my timeline.
- 12:35Did I not say my big head is everywhere?
- 12:37It is. It is.
- 12:39It is because immigration is so important.
- 12:41I can't wait because she's about to be in our cameras.
- 12:46I am excited. I'm excited for this to come
- 12:47out. I'm excited to hear it.
- 12:48Yes, me too. Yeah, but I wanted to talk about
- 12:51ICE because you're a non partisan.
- 12:54So like, we haven't really talked about that.
- 12:56And you guys know that I'm actually really big on this.
- 12:58I've been wanting to talk about politics for fucking ever on the
- 13:02pod. I just haven't.
- 13:03Fucking go. Yeah, I just haven't had a guess
- 13:05who's willing to. Let's do it.
- 13:06Wait. Wait, wait, before we say fuck
- 13:09ice. He already did.
- 13:13Well, before we say it again, I had something to ask you because
- 13:22we're on the we're talking about fiance visa.
- 13:24Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna potential.
- 13:26I'm gonna do a spousal visa because I got married last year.
- 13:30Oh, congratulations. Shut the ring.
- 13:32Shut the ring. Badass.
- 13:34Yeah, that's awesome. Congrats.
- 13:36I don't have a ring. It's dusty.
- 13:38Yeah. Don't marry me.
- 13:39I bought. I bought my own ring.
- 13:42And my husband, I bought, I bought me and my husband's
- 13:45rings. Hey.
- 13:46See like this is something I would do like.
- 13:48Because my, my love life is not clear.
- 13:52It has never been clear. And it's very cloudy.
- 13:54And so that's why. This is something if you ever
- 13:56care about me, there you go. #Stag head designs.
- 14:01That's. Cute.
- 14:02Yeah, it's I bought this one for myself and then I got a cool.
- 14:06It's like black and a wood mixture ring for my husband.
- 14:11Yeah. We didn't do the traditional
- 14:14route. Did you have a wedding?
- 14:16Yeah, we, we had our, we, we got married in our kitchen on a work
- 14:20day, on a Wednesday during lunch.
- 14:23OK there. I know there was a reason I was
- 14:25going to. Like it?
- 14:26Did you take the rest of the day off?
- 14:28Nope, went to. I had a a hearing with the judge
- 14:30right afterwards. Boss ass bitch.
- 14:32I love her. Yeah.
- 14:35So anyways, OK, Family based petition.
- 14:38Spousal petition. Yeah.
- 14:39So is that like how much of a difference is that from your
- 14:44fiance visa? It we, the way we preface it
- 14:48with our potential clients is it's a personal decision because
- 14:51a lot of people have visions in their head of a beautiful
- 14:53American wedding. And then some other clients have
- 14:56a, a vision of a beautiful Mexican wedding.
- 14:59And so it's where, where do you want to get married?
- 15:02Because if you want to get married before the visa, you got
- 15:06to get married in their home country or if they're here
- 15:09unlawfully, then you can get married here.
- 15:10But it just depends. It's your personal decision.
- 15:14Prices really don't change. Processing times are a little
- 15:17different, but not, not too different.
- 15:19So it's like, what do you envision?
- 15:20And then we'll make it happen. OK.
- 15:22Yeah. Cool.
- 15:23Yeah. What are you he's having?
- 15:25He's having a wedding here because he told me that I can be
- 15:28one of the groomsmen. I didn't say best man groomsmen
- 15:32because I would look fucking cool in a fucking tuxedo.
- 15:35So to my guy friends, don't cut me off when you get married
- 15:38because I'd look fucking cool in a tuxedo.
- 15:40I'm sorry I was picturing you as the person doing the ceremony
- 15:43but. Oh, thank you.
- 15:44But in a tuxedo. Yeah, I.
- 15:47Mean, I don't doubt that you would look cool in a suit.
- 15:50I was like, fucking what? Can really fucking kill it.
- 15:52And yeah, music, every girl. We had a wedding ceremony over
- 15:55there. OK, good.
- 15:58Now you got to bring. Her a second one here.
- 16:00Yeah, he told me, he promised. Yeah, that's typically what
- 16:04people do. They they have a celebration
- 16:06here. Yeah, normal.
- 16:07It's for Dusty. He's yeah, processing times
- 16:09right now. So is she in Laos or where he
- 16:12OK. So processing times probably
- 16:16aren't that big because you don't have a lot of people
- 16:17coming to the US from Laos. So I won 30 family petition
- 16:23taking about maybe a year, year and a half to be approved
- 16:26depends. And then counselor processing,
- 16:29bring that girl over here with that green card.
- 16:31That's The thing is when you come as a bring that, bring that
- 16:34ass from here with the grand. You come in with a green card.
- 16:38If you do, if you get married first, but when you come in with
- 16:41a fiance visa, you get married and then you have to apply for
- 16:44the green card. So she'll be entering with a
- 16:46green card. Yeah, and from my readings, it's
- 16:49if you've been married for longer than two years, then it's
- 16:53a 10 year. Correct 10 year green card.
- 16:55Yes, A2 year. Correct.
- 16:57Yep, exactly. And then if she's married to you
- 17:00three years down the road from when she enters, she can go
- 17:03ahead and apply for citizenship, so long as she speaks English
- 17:06and is able to pass the civics test and the English reading and
- 17:10writing test. Awesome.
- 17:12I haven't gone that far down the road yet, just because you know,
- 17:15I'm still over here on this part of.
- 17:17The road if you need help, my friend, me and my cousin, that's
- 17:20our bread and butter. We do them every day.
- 17:22So if you need help, let us know and we'll give you a little
- 17:24discount. Sweet.
- 17:27Look at that. Yeah.
- 17:28Yeah, yeah, connections are made on the pod.
- 17:31Yeah, we. There's more, there's more I.
- 17:34Just was going to ask if I could get refill.
- 17:36Of course. And how do I do it?
- 17:38You poured it so pretty that. Yeah, yeah, I got it.
- 17:41I got it. Thank you.
- 17:44I'd be like shaking. I could not be a doctor.
- 17:47I'm very shaky. I'm a doctor of law.
- 17:49A doctor. Is that what you?
- 17:52I'm a doctor of law. You're a doctor of.
- 17:54Law. But I'm not.
- 17:55I could never be a surgeon because I'm my hands are super
- 17:58shaky. Yeah.
- 18:00I see what you're saying. Yes, because you do have your
- 18:03doctorate. Yeah, and that crazy doctor of
- 18:06law. It's like, it's like those
- 18:07moments when like you're your parents are never proud enough
- 18:12of you because you didn't do something.
- 18:13And then they're like, OK, do you see that somebody needs a
- 18:16fucking doctor to help them save their lives?
- 18:20And then it's like, did did you hear them say they need a doctor
- 18:23of law, a doctor of dentist? No, they didn't.
- 18:26They said they need a fucking doctor and you went and fucked
- 18:29it up with that. Damn.
- 18:33You know what I mean? Yeah, Yeah.
- 18:36The one here needed a podcaster today, did they?
- 18:41That's hilarious. No, but definitely I'll.
- 18:43I'll probably reach out when I'm ready.
- 18:44Yeah, maybe have you like review my packet?
- 18:47For sure, I would definitely do that.
- 18:50Because I'm interested to see how good of a packet I can put
- 18:53together. A packet.
- 18:55You have to put together a packet.
- 18:56So the thing about immigration is, yes, the instructions are
- 19:01online essentially you can do your own case, right?
- 19:05But The thing is, is that sometimes when you're not an
- 19:09attorney, shit can go South very quickly.
- 19:13And so a lot of people, another myth is that like, anybody can
- 19:16do my job, Notarios can do my job better than me.
- 19:20Bullshit. Because we know the law, we know
- 19:22the process, but you still can do it yourself.
- 19:26People have done it themselves so many times, but it's when you
- 19:30it's when you maybe do something wrong or you, you missed a step
- 19:33or something. Then we come in and and we, you
- 19:36know, obviously help you clean it up.
- 19:37But I would rather you show me what you've done so far and then
- 19:41I'll say, yeah, that looks good. Go ahead and send it.
- 19:43You know what I mean? So you have better chances.
- 19:46Yeah, just because we see it every day, we know what we're
- 19:48doing, we know the process, we know the consequences of saying
- 19:51this and not saying this and all those things.
- 19:53So like for a spousal visa, because like some, some of these
- 19:57visas are just even something, you know, to be able to become a
- 20:00citizen. Is there times even if like
- 20:03quote, UN quote, you did it all right, that you'd still get
- 20:06denied? The one time 2 times that's
- 20:09happened is when someone accidentally admits to something
- 20:13at an interview that they shouldn't have admitted to or
- 20:18they smoked weed before they went to their damn interview and
- 20:21they get flagged for being, you know, druggie or.
- 20:26That was stupid. Yeah, I had a client literally
- 20:29at the border at El Paso. He was about to go across to go
- 20:33to his interview and he calls me and he says, Sarah, I smoked
- 20:37weed. And I'm like, get your ass back
- 20:39to Wichita. Do not cross that border because
- 20:42if you test positive for anything in your system, you're
- 20:44screwed. So there's been times and then
- 20:48there's been times where we did everything right.
- 20:51Immigration is wrong. They're wrong.
- 20:54And a lot of people are like, well, immigration's saying this
- 20:56and I'm like, that doesn't mean they're right.
- 20:58We're right. And there was a time where I
- 21:00know for a fact I was right. My client was in Ciudad Juarez
- 21:04for his interview and he was there for two years while I was
- 21:08fighting, saying I'm right, immigration's wrong, give him
- 21:13his visa and let him come back to the US two years.
- 21:15I fought with them for two years and he trusted me.
- 21:19And I said trust me, I'm right. Do not come back unlawfully
- 21:22because you ruin everything. And he trusted me.
- 21:26I was right, got that visa, came right back.
- 21:29But you don't know what The thing is, is that when he came
- 21:31back, his family had moved on, his wife had moved on.
- 21:35Fuck dude, do you hear that? Though no loyalty, Yeah, I was
- 21:41going with the no loyalty year 2 years OK.
- 21:43Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's another piece.
- 21:46But like, that's what I'm saying though.
- 21:48Like, yeah, that's how slow this process is.
- 21:52Like can we stop pretending that it's not?
- 21:54And can you stop being a fucking Dick about it?
- 21:56Because God damn like it that that's what pisses me off.
- 22:00If I was fighting with immigration for two years,
- 22:02saying I'm right, you're wrong, give him his visa and I knew I
- 22:06was right and and. He and there was nothing that
- 22:09you could have done to speed that up.
- 22:10I mean, obviously you would have done it.
- 22:12Nope, it's the US consulate. They run at their own pace and
- 22:15Mexico's. The US consulate in Mexico is
- 22:17the busiest U.S. consulate in the entire world.
- 22:21Could he have gone to maybe a different one?
- 22:24No, no. So.
- 22:26That's what is the only one that we can used for this process,
- 22:29yeah. Wow.
- 22:30Yeah, it's the busiest one in the whole world.
- 22:32I always think of that like I'm always like, sometimes I think
- 22:35like to my parents, I'm like, what if you had gone to Canada?
- 22:38Is it easier to go to Canada? Unless the only way you can do
- 22:42that is if you are a resident or a citizen of Canada, yeah.
- 22:47Is the US the hardest country to get a citizenship from or get a
- 22:52visa from? That's a good question.
- 22:55I know Canada's rules are actually really strict.
- 22:58So if you have a DUI, one DUI on your record, I don't believe
- 23:02you're getting status in Canada. But that's another myth is that
- 23:06immigration attorneys here in the US know the rules around the
- 23:09country. No, we only know US immigration
- 23:11laws. Of course.
- 23:12I mean, it's fucking crazy here. Well, anywhere, any country,
- 23:15it's we're talking years of something that was established.
- 23:18Like, yeah, you think that you're going to learn all that
- 23:20in three years of law? School.
- 23:21Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 23:23The funny thing is that I took the whole bar exam.
- 23:25Immigration wasn't even on the bar exam.
- 23:27No. So I studied everything except
- 23:31for what I'm doing. It's never like constitutional
- 23:34law and admin law and stuff like that, but yeah.
- 23:36Anyway. So while Google says the hardest
- 23:39country to get citizenship in, the very first thing which I
- 23:43find funny is Vatican City. Well, that's.
- 23:46Not, you know. Interesting.
- 23:48Stereotypically right makes sense in a way we're talking.
- 23:52About I'm going there in April, March.
- 23:55Yeah, that sounds beautiful. And excited.
- 23:57Yeah, Yeah. Interesting.
- 23:58And then after that, it's like Qatar, Saudi Arabia.
- 24:02Interesting. Where is remember that Ashley
- 24:06was telling us that it would be really hard for her to get a
- 24:09visa. What?
- 24:10Which one was it? I don't remember, it was an
- 24:15Asian country. Thailand.
- 24:17Yeah, Thailand, because of her medical condition, they were
- 24:21like, they don't want anybody who's not healthy.
- 24:26Interesting. She was automatically.
- 24:28Wow. No you cannot.
- 24:30That's crazy. Live here.
- 24:31We don't want you. One of those Asian countries.
- 24:33I can't. Yeah, I think it was Thailand,
- 24:35yeah. That's insane.
- 24:39Could go back to the notes and figure out, but anyways, you're
- 24:41non partisan and OK, so like I want to understand, let's start
- 24:49with what is ice? OK, right, Because I think that
- 24:54we got a, we got a level. Yep, first.
- 24:56What's your job? Yeah.
- 24:57And then and then let's go into what are the pros of ice?
- 25:04OK, so. I want to go backwards.
- 25:07ICE is one of the branches of the Department of Homeland
- 25:10Security. So the Department of Homeland
- 25:12Security was established after 911 and the IT used to be where
- 25:18the immigration judges and the prosecutors and immigration
- 25:21court were a part of the same the DOJ, the Department of
- 25:24Justice. But then when DHS was created,
- 25:28more immigration agencies followed.
- 25:31So ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border
- 25:36Patrol, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, which we
- 25:40actually have ICE and USCIS here in Wichita.
- 25:45I always tell people USCIS is across from milk float on
- 25:48Douglas. OK, say USCIS again.
- 25:51US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- 25:53OK, So that's the benefits portion of the show.
- 25:55That's where you go to get your green card.
- 25:58That's where you go to get your citizenship, your
- 26:00naturalization. You're talking about, Yeah, I've
- 26:01been there a lot of times. Yeah, and they do.
- 26:03They actually do. It is next to milk flow.
- 26:05It is across. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 26:07yeah, Yeah, It is. It is.
- 26:08It's out. Yeah.
- 26:08Yeah, and they do. So there's people every
- 26:11Wednesday, I think that will go and protest ICE outside of
- 26:16USCIS. And the security guards are
- 26:19like, you do know we're not ICE, right?
- 26:21And they're like, yeah, yeah, you're still the government.
- 26:23So we're going to protest here. And I'm like, OK, so I'm
- 26:26literally waiting for my client outside of USCIS.
- 26:29Hi. Are you excited for today?
- 26:31And people down the street are like, fuck guys.
- 26:35They're like, you know, like you're, you know, and I'm like,
- 26:37this is the wrong area to be doing that.
- 26:40But whatever, go away. You're ruining my pictures
- 26:44anyways. Yeah, because that's where
- 26:46they're going to go when they take the test, when people go
- 26:50and take a picture of like I finally became AUS citizen
- 26:52because also guys to study for that is a it's hard.
- 26:56It's questions that I mean, nobody.
- 26:59Fucking remembers anything. Yeah, you should.
- 27:01Oh, do it at the end. OK, I'll quiz you guys.
- 27:03Today you'll quiz us. Yeah, yeah, let's do that.
- 27:05That'll be our lightning round for.
- 27:07Us. I'm born here.
- 27:10That's even better Born. Here, and I bet you you don't.
- 27:12Know oh, that's even better. That's even better.
- 27:15Yep, I know. It's hard.
- 27:17I'm scared. That's hilarious.
- 27:18OK, we're going to do that. Yeah.
- 27:20Anyway, so the ICE office is actually on Woodlawn and you'll
- 27:24never know it's an ICE office because of course, you know,
- 27:26security reasons. We don't want to just say this
- 27:28is ICE, but they do have holding facilities for people who they
- 27:32do pick up and then they transfer them to Kay County in
- 27:36Oklahoma or Chase County in Cottonwood Falls here in Kansas.
- 27:40So ICE are the enforcers. They're the ones who are able to
- 27:43enforce immigration laws. So, for example, literally the
- 27:49day after President Trump was inaugurated, my client was
- 27:53picked up on the way to work because he had a previous
- 27:56removal order on his record. So he was removed and came back.
- 28:00And then he had an aggravated firearms charge on his record as
- 28:05well, where he was prosecuted in federal court for it.
- 28:08So during the Biden administration, they, they
- 28:11weren't doing anything. They were just letting people
- 28:14live in the US and they they were not the priority.
- 28:18But immediately when Trump was inaugurated, they are now
- 28:21priorities. And I've been trying to warn
- 28:23everybody and this was going to happen.
- 28:25But he didn't, you know, he didn't know.
- 28:27And so he drove. He was driving to work.
- 28:29That's why you guys should vote, because it fucking matters.
- 28:32Sorry. Thank you.
- 28:33No, you're right. You're not wrong.
- 28:35That's why I fucking say what I say.
- 28:36You're absolutely right. Just.
- 28:38About everything that I say. I fucking mean it, go ahead.
- 28:42But I'm also sarcastic as well. Yeah.
- 28:45So anyway, so ICE picked him up on the way to work because they
- 28:47knew where he lived, they knew he was here, they just weren't
- 28:50told to go get him until now. So ICE picked him up, put him in
- 28:55the holding facility here in Wichita, and then sent him to
- 28:58another detention facility. I told his wife there's nothing
- 29:01I can do for him because he is automatically removable because
- 29:05he has previously been removed before.
- 29:08So he was deported and he's been in his home country ever since.
- 29:12And that's where loyalty does break.
- 29:15It's very true. Let's see how how how these
- 29:18marriages are tested during this administration.
- 29:21But yeah, so that's just an idea of what ICE does.
- 29:24Now there's the other agencies as well.
- 29:27There's HSI, that's the investigation division where
- 29:32they are. You'll see, you see them a lot
- 29:34in the news now because the director of DHS is very vocal
- 29:37and very she's Christy Noem. This is the one that you said
- 29:40was hot. Yes, it is.
- 29:42Have a look. She's very good looking.
- 29:45Noem, Noem. NOEM.
- 29:48Yeah. Oh shit yeah y'all should look
- 29:50her up. She's.
- 29:52Very good looking, he made a very good pick.
- 29:53RISTI and then Noem NOEM guys again, that is KRISTI, last name
- 30:05Noem NOEM. Do we hate her?
- 30:08I don't know but home girl there's a picture in.
- 30:10Her, she's fine. She's fine.
- 30:11She's not holding her gun, but like the first picture that came
- 30:13up like. She's she's pretty fine.
- 30:17Just colored eyes. So, so she, they've been, they,
- 30:21they're the ones who crack down on narcotics, gangs, drugs,
- 30:26firearms, like they're the ones going out and getting the bad
- 30:29guys. Now ICE is getting a lot of bad
- 30:33rat because they're essentially detaining people who they say
- 30:37are bad guys. But a lot of people are like,
- 30:39no, they're they're they haven't done anything wrong.
- 30:42The only thing that they may have done wrong was enter the
- 30:45country illegally, right? Which is a crime, as I said.
- 30:48But it's, again, it's the only option.
- 30:52Yeah. So ICE.
- 30:53Some laws are laws, but they're not just.
- 30:59I mean, OK, you ready? ICE is important.
- 31:02ICE is important because they are enforcing immigration laws.
- 31:07It's very unfortunate that people are getting picked up for
- 31:11simply entering unlawfully, but that's the reality of
- 31:15immigration. So there are a lot of people who
- 31:17are saying abolish ICE. If we abolish ICE, there is no
- 31:22one who has the ability to to enforce the immigration laws on
- 31:28the level that they do. Because let's say someone,
- 31:32someone gets arrested for domestic violence and they get
- 31:38booked in jail at the Sedgwick County Jail.
- 31:43The ICE can see everyone in the public record as to who is being
- 31:48detained. And if they see that someone
- 31:51does not have lawful status or they see their country of
- 31:53origin, that they're not U.S. citizens, they can look that
- 31:57person up very easily. It's public record and they can
- 32:00come, they can put an ICE hold on them and they can pick them
- 32:04up once they're released from Sedgwick County Jail.
- 32:07So essentially, they are keeping our country safe.
- 32:11But again, like I was saying earlier, there's always some bad
- 32:14officers right there. There are ICE officers who may
- 32:18not be doing what they're supposed to be doing.
- 32:20They may be bending the rules, and that is unfortunate.
- 32:24But if we get rid of ICE, there could be serious consequences
- 32:28for that. So what do you think about that?
- 32:30Yeah, yeah. No, I mean like what?
- 32:33What do I think about? What do you think about?
- 32:34Yeah, abolish ICE. Like, what's that?
- 32:36I want to know what that perspective is actually.
- 32:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think like, they're OK, right?
- 32:43When we're talking about like stances, there's a lot of like,
- 32:47what the fuck is ICE doing, right?
- 32:49There's a lot of like things that are already made with
- 32:52abolish ICE, right? And I do think that when it
- 32:57comes to policy, we do have to look at both ends.
- 33:00We have to look about like what it's really doing and what it's
- 33:02not doing and who are these bad apples?
- 33:05But also what are other things that are allowing them to really
- 33:09exercise these in a exercise their power in ways that feels
- 33:18non humanitarian so. Inhumane.
- 33:22Yeah, so like what? So, like I had read a lot of
- 33:27things about like Congress recently saying that based on
- 33:30the way that somebody looks, ICE can go and detain you, ICE can
- 33:35go and do something about that. That's my issue.
- 33:38Absolutely ridiculous. And I agree with you on that.
- 33:40That is absolutely ridiculous. And we have the Constitution for
- 33:44a reason. You know what I mean?
- 33:45And we have these things in place.
- 33:47You should not arrest someone based on the way they look.
- 33:50I totally agree with that. And that is where I also
- 33:53disagree with the way that the ICE is able to exercise their
- 33:56power there. There should be restraints on
- 33:58how much power that they have. And I think like, that's the
- 34:01issue, right? So I think like when you hear
- 34:03things like abolish ICE, defund the, the like defund the police,
- 34:08like all these things, that's what that means.
- 34:11It's like, let yeah, we do need to have places that enforce
- 34:15things because without it, it could be crazy.
- 34:19We'd go into like chaos. What's it?
- 34:23There's a word for it. Like it's it's like called this.
- 34:25Like it's not opportunity chaos, but it's like, I can't even
- 34:30remember. But like, I'm not saying that
- 34:33shit's going to go South, but like without any type of
- 34:36restriction naturally, because of how we humans are
- 34:43psychologically, we are so susceptible to taking on these
- 34:48other beliefs and absorbing them.
- 34:50And if we are struggling with our own self identity and we're
- 34:53struggling with who our own beliefs are, it's so easy for us
- 34:58to mirror something else. So whoever is like exercising
- 35:01these powers in a really bad degree, I think they're just
- 35:06susceptible to a lot of they're in areas that are causing that
- 35:12not causing they're they're putting themselves in positions
- 35:16where nobody is challenging them, right?
- 35:18And they're just in these circles that are not challenging
- 35:21them. So they're like this is this is
- 35:23regularly, this is OK. Impunity.
- 35:25Immunity or impunity where you're getting away with things
- 35:28without repercussions. Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 35:30And, and that's what like I, I personally think is like what?
- 35:35Defund the police? Abolish ICE.
- 35:38I think they're just really these strong words to get you to
- 35:42stop and listen. Because when it comes to
- 35:44protesting, when it comes to activism, when it comes to
- 35:47advocacy, even to some degree, like, you got to use these
- 35:50really tough words to get someone to be like, whoa, what
- 35:54the fuck is that? Yeah, I need to go listen to
- 35:56this. Some people are going to be
- 35:57turned off quick, right? And I do think that is that
- 35:59power of like words, schematics matter a lot.
- 36:06But we do also have to think about the marketing and the
- 36:08branding and all that other shit.
- 36:11And personally, that's what I think with Abolish ICE is like,
- 36:15I think that there are things that we do need to not
- 36:19necessarily almost like enforce on them.
- 36:23So I'm trying to say like, yeah, does it make sense that we have
- 36:26some government entity that enforces something that others
- 36:33do not have that opportunity to do or shouldn't have, but they
- 36:37exercise anyways? Because, I mean, we have those
- 36:40people. That's why we go down the path
- 36:44of defund the police because you're seeing a lot of that in
- 36:47certain cities. Abuse of power?
- 36:48Yeah, totally get it. And think, I mean, we see a lot
- 36:51of cronyism. That's the issue is like we're
- 36:53when it comes down to all this Trump, when it like we're
- 36:56talking about cronyism, like that's the issue is that we're
- 36:59putting people in power who, who abuse it and with Congress
- 37:05giving them the pass to do that. That's crazy.
- 37:10It's crazy because it's like we're 2025 and this shit is
- 37:14happening and it's and like, I'm going down a tangent, but I'm
- 37:18going to say this tangent because I think it's relevant.
- 37:23I was traveling to Egypt earlier this year.
- 37:26I got to meet a lot of people from multiple countries.
- 37:29I met somebody from like, fuck, it was like one of the old
- 37:33Europe countries. I can't even fucking remember
- 37:35which one. But we were talking about this
- 37:38because he's telling me about like, I'm like, what's life
- 37:41there? Like, I mean, as a tourist, you
- 37:43see it as this beautiful thing, so green, it's whatever.
- 37:46And I'm like, but like, what is life in the sense of like
- 37:50policy, in the sense of things moving?
- 37:52Like, is this a conservative place?
- 37:54Is this a liberal place? Are the things that are
- 37:56happening over here being pressured onto your country?
- 37:59Like, I'm curious. Very good question.
- 38:01What are the questions that I have with people?
- 38:03Like people are like, what? This girl's weird.
- 38:08Those are the because I'm curious.
- 38:10I'm really, I'm genuinely curious.
- 38:12But he was telling me about how like, you know, it's a really
- 38:15old country. Like he's like, my high school
- 38:18was built in 1400 or, or yeah. And he's like, so my high school
- 38:23alone was just like a lot of history in there.
- 38:26And he's like, so with that, our government is basically set in
- 38:31stone. I mean, we have really important
- 38:33powers that money, people, people with money that they're
- 38:40always going to dictate the way that the country goes.
- 38:43He was like, the thing with the US, it's such a new country
- 38:46comparably to other countries. The US is very, now we don't
- 38:50have places that I mean, we do like if we go back to Native
- 38:53American, but we're barely as this as a country, we're barely
- 38:57finally giving them the place there, right?
- 39:00Like we're finally, I mean, we're finally taking down a lot
- 39:02of Confederate soldier stuff, right?
- 39:04That's another thing that we'll get to maybe not, but like we're
- 39:08finally giving the Native Americans like their place of
- 39:10like that. They started this country,
- 39:12right? But other countries, right?
- 39:14They're old. And in that sense, the US is so
- 39:18young and he's like, so for things to change over there,
- 39:23it's slow. And he's like, for things to
- 39:26change over with you guys, it could happen.
- 39:30Yeah. And, and I thought that was such
- 39:32a freeing thing that he said, 'cause like, and, and this was
- 39:35in February. This was when the Supreme Court
- 39:39had just overruled that abortion was illegal.
- 39:41Yeah. And I know I'm just like, what
- 39:44the fuck? You know what I mean?
- 39:45Yeah. I think as a woman, like, I'm
- 39:48not saying that abortion is right.
- 39:49I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm not saying it's right, but
- 39:52'cause like I think as a woman to be forced to do something
- 39:57right and there's so much psychological stuff and they're
- 40:01like, I just agreed. Would hate to know that I that's
- 40:06not an easy decision to make. I don't think at any point
- 40:09nobody's thinking that's an easy decision.
- 40:11Yeah, and there's a lot of shit that goes with it and it's not
- 40:13getting talked about enough. But I think that is a perfect
- 40:16example of what he's saying. Yeah, things can change so fast.
- 40:20Yeah, it's 2020 Supreme Court decision.
- 40:22Yeah, that's a really good perspective.
- 40:24It was, dude. Homie was young.
- 40:25Yeah, homie was young. Guy too.
- 40:27Yeah, yeah. Here, No, homie was smart, but
- 40:29it was that's what I'm saying. It was so cool about like y'all
- 40:32get your ass out of the US, honestly.
- 40:34But you know, and if you can, if you have the funds, if you or I
- 40:37don't know, do it cheaply, there's a lot of websites that
- 40:40you can find where things are cheaper.
- 40:43But honestly, it's going to expand your perspective.
- 40:48Yeah, because he said that to me and like I thought, what a cool
- 40:53thing to some degree, right? Like it's like, I'm sure that
- 40:57people who were on a very strong stance that this is bad, we're
- 41:02celebrating it because they're like, it's 2025 and this was
- 41:05done. Like what a fucking cool thing.
- 41:07Like, and I get that perspective, right?
- 41:10And then maybe people who are fighting that, it's like, that's
- 41:12not a good thing. Yeah, that's America.
- 41:15That's America, but also it's 2025.
- 41:18Like there's so much shit that could happen.
- 41:20And that's what I'm trying to say like with abolish eyes, with
- 41:23defund the Police, with like all these really tough stances on
- 41:26things, on both perspectives, I think like we do need to dive
- 41:30deeper into them to understand them.
- 41:32So my issue is with how ICE is really exercising their power in
- 41:41an Inhuman. Way dehumanizing totally.
- 41:44And there's, there's, you know, reports of thing, things
- 41:48happening in detention facilities, people sleeping on
- 41:50the ground, you know, and I, I'm not there.
- 41:54So I can't confirm or deny that that's happening.
- 41:56But our clients are telling us things and we have to, we can
- 42:00only do so much as attorneys. But it, it's sometimes
- 42:03immigration really makes me feel helpless sometimes because of
- 42:07how large of a scale that I'm working on and my clients are
- 42:11hours away from me in detention facilities.
- 42:14And I'm like, I don't, I don't really know what I can do.
- 42:16But that's why we have organizations like ACLU and all
- 42:21those you know. And they were defunded, too.
- 42:23Yeah, yeah. They, I mean, there, there's
- 42:25attorneys, I guess to go off of what you're saying on the abuse
- 42:31of power. There are attorneys fighting
- 42:35every move that the government makes.
- 42:37Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:38So that's something that's not talked about a lot.
- 42:40And not even the ACLU, even just private firms like mine or other
- 42:44firms are filing. There's a very amazing law firm
- 42:50in Kansas City and it's called the Sharma Crawford Attorneys,
- 42:54Reika Sharma Crawford and Michael.
- 42:55They're married. They Reika is very well known
- 42:59for the federal work that she does and she is constantly
- 43:03fighting unlawful detentions at the federal level.
- 43:07So even though it does feel shitty on the ground level,
- 43:10there are people fighting it in federal courts, which eventually
- 43:15will go to the circuit courts, which will eventually go to the
- 43:17Supreme Court. It just takes time.
- 43:19Yeah. So I guess that's something that
- 43:21I usually say when people do talk about ISIS actions is that
- 43:24they're not going unnoticed and we are fighting what they're
- 43:28doing. Yeah, every day.
- 43:30How do you, as someone who is not a lawyer, who doesn't have
- 43:33power like that, like what do you do?
- 43:35Like, how do you support? Do you support?
- 43:37Like, you know, how do you, how do you help?
- 43:39Yeah. I think what I've been telling
- 43:43people is educating yourselves is the best way that you can
- 43:46help because you don't want to push a false narrative.
- 43:51So if you're educated and you have knowledge about
- 43:53immigration, you, you are actually helping and then
- 43:59donating. I mean, there's organizations
- 44:03around Wichita who are doing know your rights events, so
- 44:09maybe hosting a know your rights event for a vulnerable group of
- 44:14people is helpful. Donating money to organizations
- 44:21who represent unaccompanied minors.
- 44:24There's, there's a lot of ways that you can get involved even
- 44:27if you're not an attorney. Yep.
- 44:30Yeah, so I get involved and educate yourself.
- 44:32Yeah, Yeah. What was I going to ask you?
- 44:38I was going to ask you something about this and I already forgot.
- 44:41I would add to what we're talking about a lot of the
- 44:44immigration conversations surrounded around President
- 44:46Trump, right? And I would like what I do when
- 44:51I go do my talks is I'm moving the conversation away from him
- 44:55and I'm moving it towards Congress because today,
- 44:59Congress, Congress is the one, is the only one it who is going
- 45:04to change the immigration laws. Trump can do as much as he wants
- 45:07to do on the enforcement side and he can talk all the talk
- 45:10that he wants to do. But at the end of the day, it's
- 45:12Congress's fault. Yeah, for why we are where we
- 45:16are where we are today. I mean with the shit that they
- 45:18just released, but to some degree.
- 45:20OK, so this is actually, this is perfect.
- 45:22I did have that in here. Yay.
- 45:25I don't know what time stamp we're at y'all this.
- 45:27I told you we could be here all day.
- 45:29This might be a 2 parter episode.
- 45:31Dusty, this is a 2 parter episode.
- 45:35As long as I leave in time for my event tonight, we are good.
- 45:38OK. And we don't have to go through
- 45:40every topic, but I I think like that that was a really, really
- 45:46good point that you just made because no president really has
- 45:50been pushing the needle for immigration.
- 45:52They say it because it's a fancy word and they know that the US
- 45:56is made-up of a lot of immigrants.
- 45:59So I think you as an immigrant, as an immigrant voter, you're
- 46:03hopeful and you want to vote maybe based on that.
- 46:07And sometimes, right, going back to the quote that I said
- 46:09earlier, I'd partner with anyone to do good, but I'm partnering
- 46:13with no one to do evil. Yep.
- 46:15And so based on what I know that I'm, I'm passionate about, what
- 46:19I care about, what I know that is important for humans, I'm
- 46:24looking at that when I'm voting. And to some degree, yeah, that
- 46:30executive branch does hold a lot of power because they can
- 46:35appoint people in Congress and they can on the, yeah, on the
- 46:39courts. So when we're talking about some
- 46:43of the new things that Congress has made and push that has
- 46:45allowed ICE and a lot of these new, not new, but like harsher.
- 46:51Yeah. Stances, right?
- 46:54To some degree he does have a play in that.
- 46:56He does, but when any any. President, and I should say that
- 46:59like clarify, any president has that.
- 47:02How I see it is like presidents can only really put a Band-Aid
- 47:06on immigration. They can only really do
- 47:09temporary fixes and. They only come in four year.
- 47:12Terms and Congress is the only one who can make lasting change
- 47:17because if they pass a laws bettering the immigration
- 47:23system, the only way that that can be fought is in the Supreme
- 47:28Court. So that's why I'm so pushy about
- 47:31Congress is because they have the power to better our country
- 47:36and they've haven't done it. It's politics.
- 47:39They're just playing politics and they don't give a shit about
- 47:44our country. That's just what it feels like
- 47:46from an immigration attorney standpoint because they.
- 47:50Money talks exactly. That's that's what it feels like
- 47:53we're getting to and exactly. And by that I mean not we in
- 47:57this conversation, but we in this country, that's the play
- 48:04that things start to feel that things are getting into is that
- 48:07the money talks. Yeah, yeah.
- 48:09I mean, it's just who's going to vote for me and how can I keep
- 48:12my job, How can I keep my seat? And I just wish that they would
- 48:17actually reach out to actual immigration hearings.
- 48:19And maybe they do. But what I'm trying to get at
- 48:22when I do my talks is that if Congress passes better
- 48:26immigration laws, our country is going to be safer.
- 48:30Our economy is going to be booming.
- 48:32We'll have more people able to apply for jobs and not get taken
- 48:35advantage of. We're going to have more people
- 48:37driving with driver's licenses. Why don't we want that?
- 48:42Because of politics. Because if I give this group of
- 48:46people this, they will they vote for me, will they not?
- 48:51And I'm like, why wouldn't you better the laws?
- 48:54Because if you're the, if you are the party who is responsible
- 48:58for that Republican or Democrat, they're going to vote for you in
- 49:02the future. So why are we but, but, but
- 49:05there's more to it than that. My cousin, my cousin says I'm
- 49:08very naive and I know I'm naive, but it's because I think about
- 49:11it from a very simple perspective.
- 49:14And Angie, my cousin, she thinks about it from a little more
- 49:18complex perspective. She goes, Sarah, the world
- 49:20doesn't work like that. And I'm like, but I'm trying to
- 49:23show people that it could. Yeah.
- 49:25You know, And so we, my cousin and I actually disagree on a lot
- 49:29of things, on politics. Yeah, but.
- 49:31But I think that's what is good. Like, you have to almost
- 49:33surround yourself. Well, people who are willing to
- 49:35both hear you out, right? I think like, you could easily
- 49:38get in a conversation with someone who has a differing
- 49:40opinion from you. And it's not going to go well,
- 49:42Yeah. But like, if you're willing to
- 49:46hear each other out, that's where the conversation is Good.
- 49:49Yeah, me and my cousin and I get in fights all the time.
- 49:51It's so funny. Like sister, we're like sisters
- 49:53fighting. And I'll be in my office and I
- 49:55go, God damn it, Angie, listen to what I'm saying.
- 49:57She goes, you're not listening to me.
- 49:59And then we'll finish the conversation.
- 50:00I'll say okay, I love you, cousin.
- 50:02Bye. Yeah.
- 50:03Yeah, it is definitely a yeah. It's those family relationships
- 50:06where it's like, you don't really ever apologize.
- 50:08Like my sister tells me this. My older sister tells me this
- 50:11all the time. She's like, remember in Mexico
- 50:13when you made me so mad and you were so mad at me, and then you
- 50:16only gave me a little piece of your coffee?
- 50:20And then you're like friends the next.
- 50:22Yeah, I don't like it's so. Funny, yeah.
- 50:24Anyway, I got off topic, sorry but.
- 50:26No, no, I think when we go back to Congress, because really that
- 50:30is who can make these lasting changes.
- 50:32Our, our presidents are only serving four year terms.
- 50:34Congress is serving a lot of fucking years.
- 50:36Exactly. Just I think like maybe we'll
- 50:41talk a little bit about this and then go into lightning because
- 50:44Dusty hasn't messaged me anything yet.
- 50:49But I wanted to just touch on this like, you know, the last
- 50:53time that there we saw an immigration change really that
- 50:56was substantial was in the 80s or 90s.
- 51:02OK, 90s. There's a thing called I Iraq,
- 51:06Iraq. It's like a shit ton of acronyms
- 51:09and it's really annoying and I don't like talking about it.
- 51:11But the 90s and then the most recent recent one was was
- 51:16September 11th was 2001 when they created DHS.
- 51:20But yeah, Congress, the last action that they took was 90s.
- 51:24Now recently and what I said at one of my I went to an event and
- 51:29it was all Democrats and I went home and my husband is a
- 51:33libertarian. Yeah.
- 51:34So I went home and I said I'm exhausted.
- 51:37And he goes why? And I was like, I just spoke to
- 51:40a room full of angry Democrats. How the fuck do you think I'm
- 51:42feeling? Because I was exhausting.
- 51:45They're angry, and I get it, you know?
- 51:46And so I was explaining immigration to them, and they
- 51:48were just even more angry afterwards.
- 51:50And I was like, I know it's a hot topic.
- 51:51I know it's a hot topic. But I was, I don't even know
- 51:56where I was. Oh, I was explaining to them
- 51:57that Republicans made it look so easy when they passed the Lake
- 52:02and Riley Act recently. Do you remember that Lake and
- 52:04Riley case? The the young she's a she was a
- 52:07young runner and she was running on a path and someone from
- 52:11another country who was here unlawfully, who had AI believe
- 52:15he had a criminal history. I'm not can't remember too much.
- 52:17I don't remember. And he he murdered her and, and
- 52:21it was fucking terrible at like you said, as a woman listening
- 52:26to her 911 call, it was sickening.
- 52:30And they passed the lake and Riley act like that.
- 52:36And my thing to Republicans is if you really want to make
- 52:40America great again, this is your opportunity to cater to
- 52:46immigrants, cater to people who want to live in the United
- 52:49States the rest of your life, who want to become U.S.
- 52:52citizens. And they want to do it the right
- 52:55way. I don't know.
- 52:57Congress made it really easy to pass laws recently.
- 53:00So why don't you just do it again and maybe quit playing
- 53:04politics and maybe actually make our country great again?
- 53:08Yeah. You know.
- 53:10I watched one of the because I was, man, my, my algorithm has
- 53:14been inundated with a lot of the shit that's happening lately.
- 53:18I had to like, start going liking a lot of like, really
- 53:21funny things because it was getting draining because you
- 53:25want to be informed. But at some point, man, is it
- 53:27draining? Yeah, but there I watched one of
- 53:31President Trump's addresses to the House.
- 53:34Oh, OK. Because like, I hadn't because
- 53:37I'm like, I can't wait. Trump's on your algorithm.
- 53:42I mean, I try to like, keep it. I I try to keep, I try to keep
- 53:46it. I want to hear both.
- 53:48Yeah. No, that's great.
- 53:48I try to. Keep both.
- 53:49I try to keep both because then I don't know what the fuck.
- 53:53Right. You don't want to be blind to
- 53:55the whole nother part of the world and a whole nother part of
- 53:57people's beliefs. Yeah.
- 53:59So what was he saying? So no, what was pissing me off,
- 54:02what was pissing me off is like like he's he's addressing the
- 54:06house and he's being tromped like as in like talking shit,
- 54:10yes. And then also yeah, and he's
- 54:12also like give me my flowers type of thing.
- 54:15You know, he's pretty ego boosting.
- 54:17But man, it was pissing me off how the Democrats were just like
- 54:23trying to ignore him or like there were several of them who
- 54:26were like putting up the newspaper and it was like, y'all
- 54:30are in power. You have more rights, you have a
- 54:34bigger voice, you have stance. Leave that for people who cannot
- 54:39do anything. Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing.
- 54:42That was what really pissed me off because it was just like
- 54:45y'all are playing the same ego game.
- 54:47Yep, like we know homie does that.
- 54:50Yeah. Why are you playing this ego
- 54:52game? It's obvious that no one's gonna
- 54:54agree with each other. That's just basically that's
- 54:56what's happening, yeah. And oh man, it was funny.
- 54:59I got to go to DC not too long ago.
- 55:01No, I was. Like I loved DC three years ago.
- 55:03It's beautiful. It's interesting to be there
- 55:05too, like because you really feel everything.
- 55:08But I got to go to DC and I got to like be I don't remember
- 55:12where the fuck I was at, but like I remember I was with I was
- 55:16with Jocelyn. Jocelyn went with me and we were
- 55:21we were there. And I was like, do you think
- 55:23that these people like get on Facebook and like SpongeBob
- 55:27memes or do you think that they're like humans and like
- 55:30memes? Like do you think that they do
- 55:33that those are the stuff that goes to go?
- 55:36From the thought that you had in Europe to the thought that you
- 55:40had in DC, that is a very wide spectrum, my dear.
- 55:45Because listen, my my first thing is like, I think we need
- 55:48to humanize our people. We're not.
- 55:50We're trying to dehumanize ourselves so much.
- 55:53In every aspect. In every aspect, we're trying to
- 55:57cancel each other, we're trying to belittle each other, we're
- 55:59trying to hurt each other. And it's like, yeah, shit's not
- 56:03that deep. Yeah, like it's not.
- 56:06Shit's not that personal. We're all mirrors.
- 56:11We're all just living life. Yeah.
- 56:14Trying our best. And so, and, you know, those are
- 56:18always my thoughts. I'm like, do you think that
- 56:20Trump also like SpongeBob memes? Absolutely God.
- 56:26Do you think, you know, he probably hates all the South
- 56:28Park stuff because he gets on people's podcasts.
- 56:30That's and what a funny world we're living in 2025 and we can
- 56:34have the president on a podcast like that's funny.
- 56:36It's pretty fucking awesome. Yeah, like that, that that's
- 56:39pretty cool. Yeah.
- 56:40Like like, let's not overlook that part, you know, like cuz.
- 56:44I think Obama tried to do the same thing.
- 56:46He tried to be very relatable with the public.
- 56:49He tried to be out there as much as possible.
- 56:51I don't think he had the resources that President Trump
- 56:54has now, but President Obama was, I feel like, tried.
- 56:58And he tried to do that with like, Sting, Barack Obama and
- 57:06Sting. What the hell is Sting?
- 57:07Yeah, what sting? The Rock'n'roll secret guy.
- 57:11Oh yes. Yes, yes.
- 57:14Did you see a look on my face? And what the hell is sting?
- 57:17Is that an operation? A sting operation?
- 57:20Like what? It's very ADHD here, precious.
- 57:23I don't got it, it's hilarious. I've been testing.
- 57:24Let me let me look that up. Hold on, man.
- 57:27No, I think I Sting is a band. It's a rock'n'roll band.
- 57:29I've heard it. Yeah.
- 57:31Now that you said band, yeah. I don't know.
- 57:33It's 1. Guy, I don't know shit.
- 57:35Sting OK, Yeah, this is the generation that you're talking
- 57:40to right now. I'm a millennial.
- 57:42What are you? You're a millennial, right?
- 57:44I'm barely at the cut off. I'm 30.
- 57:46OK, I'm 30. I'm barely.
- 57:47I'm barely at the cut off. Yeah, 'cause I'm 95.
- 57:49You're talking to millennials. We don't know, Sting.
- 57:52He's a millennial, too. How old are you?
- 57:553839. You're 39?
- 57:57I thought you were 37. 19 Damn, that's like that Kevin Hart,
- 58:02that Kevin Hart gift. Damn, sorry.
- 58:06Wait, you are. You're still a millennial
- 58:07though, aren't you? Yeah, yeah.
- 58:10Elder Millennial. You're more at the.
- 58:11Top and we're at the bottom. I think you're still in the
- 58:15middle. You're I think you're still, I
- 58:16mean, even the two year difference does make a
- 58:18difference. 93, Yeah, yeah. OK, I got it wrong.
- 58:21He did it with Bruce Springsteen.
- 58:23It was an S OK and a thing. But I I guess to your point,
- 58:28though, that's and there, yeah, I, I, I I think, I think to your
- 58:34point, though, you're right. Like he, I don't know what
- 58:39fucking time we're at. I don't know if to keep going
- 58:40because Dusty's not sending me shit y'all.
- 58:42Dude, we can keep talking. I'm totally.
- 58:44Fine. Oh, we're at 50.
- 58:46We're definitely hold on the. Human, I can't wait to ask you
- 58:48guys questions. I know I want you to.
- 58:51I want you to. That's.
- 58:51Why? I'm trying to think if there was
- 58:52anything else that I wanted to make sure like I said.
- 58:55Me too, that's why I'm over here looking at my notes like what do
- 58:57I want her to make sure that like I didn't skip their.
- 59:00Stuff. I think.
- 59:00I made my point on how I think things should be, I think.
- 59:04Oh, actually, yeah, this is perfect.
- 59:08No, hold on. I'm going to save that for like,
- 59:10what do you think that? This for everyone's information.
- 59:14They do not do that podcast anymore because it sucked.
- 59:17Really. What podcast was it?
- 59:19I don't even know what podcast it was.
- 59:22It says here it's called Renegades.
- 59:27Isn't that a born in the USA? Oh man, sounds boring.
- 59:33With Bruce Springsteen. Here's to you and and LA Island
- 59:38are much more interesting. We are.
- 59:41We are. You're right.
- 59:42You don't even have to keep this in the podcast, but what do you
- 59:44think about my podcast name, La Island?
- 59:46LA Island. I liked it like it's a play on
- 59:48words. Do we not?
- 59:49Do we get it? Love Island, LA?
- 59:51Island. OK, Yeah, I liked it.
- 59:52It's very schematic. My, that's what I'm saying.
- 59:54My staff was like, no what? And I was like, I think it's
- 59:59cool. I like it.
- 1:00:01I mean, I think I think you need a if you want to continue to
- 1:00:04play on this theme, though, I think that you should be mixing
- 1:00:08in some of the sounds from Law, from Love Island or some of the
- 1:00:12commentary so that people are like, oh, you know, I want.
- 1:00:16To see OK. Well.
- 1:00:19So like the whole mamacita thing maybe OK.
- 1:00:22Maybe. But what I'm trying to say by
- 1:00:23that is like, I'm not saying copy them, but I am saying like
- 1:00:27you're you're playing on that word play into it because it is
- 1:00:31really out there and you're talking about something that
- 1:00:33people don't want to talk about, OK.
- 1:00:35I got it. You know what I mean, you guys.
- 1:00:38You guys do make it very relatable though.
- 1:00:40OK, good. Yeah, No, I, I want all the
- 1:00:42advice because I, I tell people I'm very tunnel vision and I
- 1:00:48even tell my staff, I say see something, say something like
- 1:00:52like if something's bothering you, tell me because I probably
- 1:00:54have no idea that it's bothering you.
- 1:00:57I told my husband that I tell everybody that like you have to
- 1:00:59assume that I am not seeing what you're seeing.
- 1:01:03That's. You know.
- 1:01:05Why is that such a hard thing to believe?
- 1:01:06Because I've been saying that to so many people, like especially
- 1:01:09even in dating, I'm like, sorry y'all?
- 1:01:10Like I get tunnel vision. I focus on an issue, I focus on
- 1:01:14a thing, I focus on a goal, and I'm going there.
- 1:01:17For me, I'm like, I'm in la, la land.
- 1:01:19Like I'm having a great time, happiest I've ever been.
- 1:01:22And like there's something bothering my husband and and he
- 1:01:25won't tell me. And he let it.
- 1:01:26He lets it simmer. Yeah, simmer.
- 1:01:29And he's like, Sarah, this has really been bothering me.
- 1:01:32I'm like, really? I didn't even.
- 1:01:33I didn't even know that it was a thing.
- 1:01:35You know what I mean? Like, you have got to tell me
- 1:01:37because I'm just in my own little world, just enjoying life
- 1:01:40and just doing things. And I don't know that an issue
- 1:01:42is an issue until you tell me, you know?
- 1:01:45Yeah. So.
- 1:01:45But I mean, I think, I think that goes back to people use
- 1:01:49your words. God communicate Jesus Christ.
- 1:01:52Yeah, we're way too fucking old to teach you that.
- 1:01:54Way too fucking old. What else?
- 1:01:56What else? Before I test you guys, Yeah, I
- 1:01:58do. Want, I do want you to test us.
- 1:01:59I would say that, and I guess we could go into lightning round
- 1:02:04for this test because I'm going to ask this in a lightning round
- 1:02:07type of way. So let's switch over to
- 1:02:10lightning round because instead of her quiz asking, So lightning
- 1:02:15round is where we're going to just like tell you a bunch of
- 1:02:18questions and we just want you to be able to like ask them off
- 1:02:21the cuff. And I'm making up all these
- 1:02:23questions in my head. By the way, I didn't put them in
- 1:02:25the the script just for your knowledge because some because
- 1:02:30sometimes they go back and forth on it.
- 1:02:31I like you and I like we're like burping.
- 1:02:33Like do you have you been burping?
- 1:02:35Because I'm and I'm like. Why are you saying that to
- 1:02:39people? I don't know, it's just.
- 1:02:40We're relatable. Fair.
- 1:02:42OK. Are you going to play the sound?
- 1:02:46You can't find it. Having connection issues.
- 1:02:48God damn it'll happen in the middle of the lightning round.
- 1:02:50It is. It's going to happen in the
- 1:02:52middle. Just pretend you heard Thunder
- 1:02:55because lightning doesn't make a sound.
- 1:02:56Did you know that? It cracks.
- 1:02:59It doesn't. It doesn't make a sound that's
- 1:03:01Thunder. It's Thunder 1st and then you
- 1:03:03see the lightning. Lightning is just the visual.
- 1:03:06Wow, interesting. Yeah, I didn't know that, Dusty
- 1:03:08told me. Lightning makes a sound when it
- 1:03:10hits something. There it.
- 1:03:12Is I got connection back? OK.
- 1:03:17So for us to make some, what would you from your perspective,
- 1:03:22what would it be for us to make some significant change in
- 1:03:27immigration reform? Like what is something that we
- 1:03:29we should do? Simply doing the episode today,
- 1:03:33educating, educating, educating, educating and following the
- 1:03:38Kansas Immigration Coalition on social media, visiting our
- 1:03:41website. We are, we are nonpartisan, but
- 1:03:47we are pretty vocal on our opinions.
- 1:03:49So the Kansas Immigration Coalition was was created
- 1:03:55literally the week it was like maybe days after President Trump
- 1:04:00was actually elected. And we all gathered in like a
- 1:04:04war room. It was really cool.
- 1:04:07That sounds exciting. It was really.
- 1:04:08How do I get in on that? Can I?
- 1:04:10Can I get in? Yeah.
- 1:04:10A local it was. It was a local representative.
- 1:04:13She called the meeting. She called the meeting and I was
- 1:04:15invited and like a bunch of that sounds.
- 1:04:18Like a really exciting thing. Did you guys drink each other's
- 1:04:20blood? No, I wish we would have though.
- 1:04:23But we we all gathered it was an evening and we were like we all
- 1:04:27just looked at each other and we were like what are we going to
- 1:04:29do? And my thing, again, being
- 1:04:33nonpartisan, has always been resources, education, resources.
- 1:04:38Sometimes what happens in the immigration world is inevitable.
- 1:04:42Sometimes we can't do anything about it.
- 1:04:43But it's how you're prepared, and it's how you deal with what
- 1:04:46happens that makes the biggest difference.
- 1:04:48So the Kansas Immigration Coalition was created that night
- 1:04:53with all of us in the room, and we created the website.
- 1:04:56We created, I mean, everything. And oh, that's cool.
- 1:04:59So we. Yeah.
- 1:05:02It was badass. It was actually really cool.
- 1:05:03Really. Badass.
- 1:05:04Just like, let's do it. I'm right here.
- 1:05:06Yeah, it was really cool. And it's a bunch of prominent
- 1:05:08people in Wichita, all Latina, Latino leaders, and we all got
- 1:05:13together and we created it. And we provide resources to
- 1:05:15families who are struggling and we provide preparation and know
- 1:05:19your rights resources. What's that at again?
- 1:05:22It's just at Kansas Immigration Coalition.
- 1:05:24OK, Yeah. And what are your thoughts on
- 1:05:29like people like being able to spot ice in an.
- 1:05:33Area we have people who are trained on how to spot ICE, so
- 1:05:39people in the Kansas Immigration Coalition, if they see
- 1:05:42something, they know the etiquette that you have to have
- 1:05:46and when you're recording. And we never want to have people
- 1:05:50put in a dangerous situation. So if ICE or police say put the
- 1:05:53phone down, you put the phone down.
- 1:05:56There's a there's an element to cooperation and civil
- 1:05:59disobedience that we are constantly pushing against.
- 1:06:04So we just, we, we first thing is safety and then second thing
- 1:06:10is getting what's happening on camera.
- 1:06:13Yeah. OK, do you want to quiz us?
- 1:06:17I'm ready. I'm ready to quiz us.
- 1:06:18Quiz. OK, so this is actually really
- 1:06:20important. So the civics exam is a
- 1:06:23requirement for certain people who are applying for
- 1:06:26citizenship, and the process is called naturalization.
- 1:06:30And the test recently changed harder questions.
- 1:06:35Yes, the first, the first Trump administration tried to change
- 1:06:39the test and then it fell through.
- 1:06:42So the second time around, he was able to get it pushed
- 1:06:45through. And so now instead of 100
- 1:06:49questions, it's 128 civics questions.
- 1:06:52We're not going to do them all today, obviously, but it, they,
- 1:06:55it does make the test harder. And so the goal, I don't know
- 1:06:59what the goal was of adding more questions.
- 1:07:02Was it to deter people from applying?
- 1:07:04Was it to, you know, weed out certain people?
- 1:07:07I don't know. And I, you know, it's just I, I
- 1:07:10think my clients do a great job of studying.
- 1:07:13That's the, my favorite part of my job is preparing people for
- 1:07:16their naturalization interviews. And I do all the questions with
- 1:07:18them. Make sure that you follow Sarah
- 1:07:20on TikTok because she also is posting a lot of this stuff.
- 1:07:24Follow her. We'll get into that.
- 1:07:25Sorry, go ahead. That's my last question.
- 1:07:27OK. So are we going to do like like
- 1:07:29you have to like Buzz? In oh, do you want to?
- 1:07:32Do you have a buzz? Do you got a buzz sound?
- 1:07:35Kinda. Or is it going to be a
- 1:07:37competition between you 2? Or am I going to ask each of you
- 1:07:39a question because I'm more about competition?
- 1:07:42Yeah, we can switch off and then keep track, OK of who's.
- 1:07:46Let's do it as a competition. Yeah, whoever's.
- 1:07:48Because we did that at the office.
- 1:07:50We did that at the office. And I was like and I was like,
- 1:07:53this is the answer. OK, OK.
- 1:07:55OK. OK.
- 1:07:55OK. OK.
- 1:07:56I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 1:07:56I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 1:07:57Are you cheating? Are you cheating and?
- 1:07:59No, no, I'm getting a sound ready.
- 1:08:03OK, so you have to push your sound.
- 1:08:05Who won a sound? I have to push my sound.
- 1:08:06Or like, well, yeah, if you know the answer, you have to go.
- 1:08:08How to push my no hold on buzz sound?
- 1:08:12Do you need the login for the sound board?
- 1:08:14Yeah, maybe Buzz sound effect. Hold on, hold on.
- 1:08:18Hold on. So if you know, if you know the
- 1:08:19answer, you have to go. You have to buzz in.
- 1:08:22OK, OK. If not, I'll.
- 1:08:23Because it's a competition, I'll just.
- 1:08:24I'll just say it out loud. I'll say it out.
- 1:08:26Loud. OK, say it out loud.
- 1:08:27Oh, I think I found one. This is so fun.
- 1:08:30OK, OK, Is already ready. Yeah, OK.
- 1:08:35Are you ready? Yeah.
- 1:08:37OK. All right.
- 1:08:38Here's your first question. What is the purpose of the 10th
- 1:08:44Amendment? This is one of the new questions
- 1:08:49on the test. 10th Amendment. Not even the second one, the one
- 1:08:54that I ever was talking. About why would they?
- 1:08:57Choose the fire. I don't know.
- 1:08:58OK, hold on. Nobody knows this question, OK.
- 1:09:01Is the 10th about? Is it there?
- 1:09:03No. That's the 10 commandments, no?
- 1:09:11I was about to say I was. I was about to.
- 1:09:13I was about to say, I was about to say you cannot fucking
- 1:09:16another person's wife because that's one of the 10
- 1:09:20commandments. It is.
- 1:09:22Did you know that? It is?
- 1:09:23Oh. My God, that.
- 1:09:24Was fucking hilarious, yeah. It is.
- 1:09:27It makes sense. Wait, So wait, what?
- 1:09:30Is the purpose of the 10th Amendment.
- 1:09:32Yeah, so neither one of. Us.
- 1:09:34OK, the answer is it states that the powers not given to the
- 1:09:38federal government belong to the states or the people.
- 1:09:41What's the 10th commandment? The power is not.
- 1:09:43I don't know what the 10th commandment is, it's been a
- 1:09:46while. OK, so we've got damn what it?
- 1:09:49Is the power is not given. Power is not given to the
- 1:09:52federal government. Belong to.
- 1:09:54The states Belong to. The state You shall not convert
- 1:09:56your neighbor's house. You shall not convert your
- 1:09:58neighbor's wife. I fucking told you guys you
- 1:10:00can't, man, man, I told you guys you cannot go and fuck somebody
- 1:10:04else's wife. I told you that you shall not
- 1:10:06convert your neighbour's wife. You still would have got it
- 1:10:08wrong on the civics exam. I was still.
- 1:10:10Wrong on the civics exam, but I knew it.
- 1:10:12I knew it had to do with not fucking the other person's wife.
- 1:10:15And that's how you know that males made the Constitution,
- 1:10:18because they just care about that.
- 1:10:22Go ahead. OK, OK, OK, here's an easy one.
- 1:10:32An easy one. You're going to get it.
- 1:10:35OK, what is the supreme law of the land?
- 1:10:43That like wait you. Have to go OK.
- 1:10:46I got it. I got it for you.
- 1:10:50Cuddle back. Your butts out.
- 1:10:51OK, what is the supreme law of the land?
- 1:10:55That, like everybody has, can be free, and without impending on
- 1:11:01impinging on anyone else's freedom.
- 1:11:04Wrong. It's a document.
- 1:11:07What is the supreme law of the land?
- 1:11:09What document? What document is the supreme law
- 1:11:11of the land? Is it?
- 1:11:14Is it? Is it the Bill of Rights?
- 1:11:17Wrong. See, I can do my own buzzing.
- 1:11:19I like, I like. I don't have a sound board like
- 1:11:21you guys do. The Constitution, yeah.
- 1:11:26Good job. OK, OK, good.
- 1:11:28OK. You both have still have 0
- 1:11:30points. Yeah, OK.
- 1:11:32This is hard. OK, next, how many US senators
- 1:11:35are there? OK, OK.
- 1:11:39I think you did it first. Who has the farting one?
- 1:11:42Me, Dusty. Oh OK, yeah, farting was first.
- 1:11:45How many US senators are there? 50 wrong. 52.
- 1:11:50Wrong. The hell is my other Yes.
- 1:11:51Senators is more it's not it's because they can have like up to
- 1:11:552 or 4, right? How many US senators are there
- 1:11:58total? 46 I'm gonna.
- 1:12:01Look it up. I could just tell you.
- 1:12:04OK, Yeah. What is?
- 1:12:05It 100. What?
- 1:12:07What I I thought, oh, OK. OK, that.
- 1:12:11Would've been my fifth guess. That was it.
- 1:12:15It would have been your fifth guess.
- 1:12:16It's this multiple choice. You would have OK.
- 1:12:18Pick C whenever you want. It's vocal, right?
- 1:12:21Is it vocal or how is it's a? It's verbally.
- 1:12:23It's a. It's a.
- 1:12:24Yeah, I remember I. Remember reading about that.
- 1:12:27That's hilarious. OK, OK, OK, OK.
- 1:12:31I learned none of this in college.
- 1:12:33I know, right? And even if you did learn it,
- 1:12:35even if you did learn, it's not in college.
- 1:12:36It'd be like 6th grade because we're talking about American
- 1:12:39history. OK, here's an easy one.
- 1:12:41OK, who lived? None of.
- 1:12:43These were easy. Who lived in America before the
- 1:12:46Europeans arrived? You clicked it first.
- 1:12:51Go ahead. The Native American.
- 1:12:52Correct. Good job.
- 1:12:54Good job. OK.
- 1:13:01The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the US
- 1:13:04Constitution. Name one of the writers.
- 1:13:08The Federalist soldiers. The.
- 1:13:11Papers top fellas. The Federalist Papers papers
- 1:13:16supported the passage of the US Constitution.
- 1:13:19Named one of the writers. Wait, you said you said, you
- 1:13:32said writers. Name one of the writers.
- 1:13:35And I was thinking. I was thinking, I was thinking
- 1:13:42you're riders. You're thinking like riders like
- 1:13:46Ride or die. We're writers as in an author.
- 1:13:51Yeah, at first I was thinking riders like who rode in on the
- 1:13:54horse. You're stupid.
- 1:13:57Fuck you guys would be fucked on this test and.
- 1:14:02Then I realized you said riders like, wrote it down.
- 1:14:04Like who wrote? This John Smith.
- 1:14:06No. Wow.
- 1:14:07Because I was about to say Paul Revere, that's why he was
- 1:14:12writing No. He's the one writing, not
- 1:14:14writing. Guys, this is a famous play.
- 1:14:20Is it Shakespeare? Meal The Odyssey No a famous a
- 1:14:28famous play A famous recent play about a a revolutionary
- 1:14:34character in American history brought to Washington.
- 1:14:38I The old meal, Adam Smith. The Wizard.
- 1:14:43Hamilton. Were you going to say the Wizard
- 1:14:45of Oz? Yeah.
- 1:14:46Oh my. Goodness, the the the one with
- 1:14:49the girl, the the one with like it's Ariana Grande and.
- 1:14:56Glenda AA Bone Glenda. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:58That's gonna be it's yeah, it's good.
- 1:15:01It's a play. Wow, it's a famous play.
- 1:15:02It is a famous play, but it has nothing to do with American
- 1:15:05history. It's because you said famous
- 1:15:06play. Don't be asking me questions
- 1:15:09like that, Papers Alexander. Hamilton.
- 1:15:11Hello, famous play. Yeah, famous.
- 1:15:14I guess I could have said famous musical.
- 1:15:16That's a. That's a famous play.
- 1:15:19You haven't seen Hamilton, I see.
- 1:15:21No, I have not. I thought that was a.
- 1:15:23Different. Beautiful, I thought that was.
- 1:15:24A different Hamilton. Oh my God, that's that's.
- 1:15:26What I that's what? I thought too.
- 1:15:27I thought, I thought like maybe Shakespeare or.
- 1:15:29Something I didn't think we were talking American people.
- 1:15:31Hamilton is a Great American musical.
- 1:15:34I didn't even know that was. American.
- 1:15:36Oh my God, I thought that all great plays are.
- 1:15:38Not American. I'm sorry.
- 1:15:40Oh my God. Sorry.
- 1:15:41I'm dying. I'm dying inside.
- 1:15:45I've never. Thought in my head, 'cause when
- 1:15:47I hear famous plays, when I hear.
- 1:15:48Hamilton. I'm thinking castles.
- 1:15:50Yes. Same same.
- 1:15:52I've never once in my head thought.
- 1:15:55A famous play that is great equals American.
- 1:15:58I've never thought that one time I'm dying inside so Wicked
- 1:16:01wasn't. I mean Wicked was cool but like.
- 1:16:03I mean, we're, we're talking about like great.
- 1:16:05Great musicals. Yeah, right.
- 1:16:07I mean like we're talking about like.
- 1:16:09I mean, I'm all about Shakespeare.
- 1:16:10I was an English. Major So I've performed
- 1:16:12Shakespeare. Before right.
- 1:16:15OK. Oh my God.
- 1:16:17When did? The Great Depression start.
- 1:16:20Oh where's my son going? No hold on 19/20/19. 20 Oh fuck
- 1:16:28what? Hold on. 1920 Great Gatsby It's

- 1:16:52and. Then you became a citizen
- 1:16:53because. He was said, oh that's awesome.
- 1:16:54So if my dad did not do this. Work.

- 1:16:59US who are actually US. Citizens and they don't even
- 1:17:01know it. Wow.
