  SPEAKER_00: And this is going to be an episode that is going to be the final episode of a series that we've been doing on strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: So I've already done one through three with what a stronghold is.

  SPEAKER_00: And today I'm going to recap what those episodes are like, um, a little bit about them anyway, and then we're going to dive right into what today's um topic of discussion is.

  SPEAKER_00: So why don't we just get started here and um see how this goes.

  SPEAKER_00: So episodes um one through three, the first episode was what is a stronghold?

  SPEAKER_00: I wanted to talk about what strongholds are before I got this podcast like really going.

  SPEAKER_00: So people have kind of an idea um what we're talking about in a sense of um what a stronghold actually means.

  SPEAKER_00: So I kind of broke it down.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_00: There's four types of strongholds.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_00: There's a physical, there's a psychological, there's a metaphorical, and there's a spiritual stronghold.

  SPEAKER_00: And this podcast specifically is geared towards psychological and spiritual strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: So that way we can start working through a process of activation and um transformation to where we can get past some pain and trauma in our lives.

  SPEAKER_00: So that way we can just focus on becoming better versions of ourselves and better versions of who God wants us to be.

  SPEAKER_00: The second episode I talked about um surface the purpose, which is actually talking about God's given purpose for your life and what that looked like and what God's um characteristics are when it comes to the purpose that He has for our life.

  SPEAKER_00: Episode three, we talked about um talking stuck and staying stuck, and how sometimes um what comes out of our mouth um really plays a very huge effective role in the process of breaking down strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: So if we are not careful with what we say, we can literally stay stuck in the situation longer than is necessary sometimes.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, sometimes it is necessary, but we we end up staying stuck because we talk ourselves into staying stuck.

  SPEAKER_00: So I talked about different situations and circumstances and how to get past some of that.

  SPEAKER_00: So this episode is called activation takes action.

  SPEAKER_00: And in this episode, I want to talk about the action it takes to activate change, blessings, and freedom from strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: We want to have freedom.
• 3:10
  SPEAKER_00: We want to um, we want to receive blessings from heaven.

  SPEAKER_00: I mean, God wants to bless us, He wants to bless us all day long.

  SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you know that or not, but He really does want to bless us.

  SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about kind of what that looks like.

  SPEAKER_00: So imagine that you went to um buy or purchase a new cell phone.

  SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna just use this as an analogy so that we can um kind of just look at it as an example or however you want to look at it.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, you go to the store to buy a new cell phone.
• 3:37
  SPEAKER_00: What is the first thing that has to happen?

  SPEAKER_00: What is the very first thing that has to happen once you go in and you say, Hey, I need a new phone?

  SPEAKER_00: And and they say, Okay, the first thing that's gonna happen is they're gonna take it out of the box and he's going to have to activate it, right?

  SPEAKER_00: You can't do anything with this phone if it's just sitting in a box and it's not activated.

  SPEAKER_00: So what does that look like actually?

  SPEAKER_00: What does it mean to get activated?
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_00: Well, you have to take action.
• 4:03
  SPEAKER_00: So, what does he do?
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_00: He powers it on.
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_00: He may even plug in the charger, he may even go in and start setting you up an account and getting you a phone number, and he's starting the activation process.

  SPEAKER_00: Is the phone still is is the phone functionable yet?

  SPEAKER_00: Not yet, because it's taking the activation process to get going, but it's taking the course of action for that to happen.

  SPEAKER_00: So in our lives, we have to think about um how we get activated.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, as we talk about strongholds being a place or a feeling or an emotion or an oppression or something that has a strong hold on your life and keeps you in bondage.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, we discuss what God's purpose is for our lives and how there's power in the tongue and what we say has power over our lives.

  SPEAKER_00: As we continue to dive in even further, we learn how to crush strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: And in God's word, I'm gonna show you an amazing illustration today where it took a lot of activation and action for change to happen.

  SPEAKER_00: So again, this episode is called Activation Takes Action.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, we cannot get activated in anything if we don't take the first step, which is taking action.

  SPEAKER_00: So I want to I want to share um a story in the Bible with you that I that took a lot of action.

  SPEAKER_00: It's kind of one of my favorite stories in the Bible.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_00: So if you have your Bibles um available or close by, um get a hold of it and open it up.

  SPEAKER_00: We're gonna look at Joshua and we're going to chapter six, and we're going to be talking about chapter six, um, one through twenty seven.

  SPEAKER_00: I am not going to read the whole entire, I'm not gonna actually I'm not gonna read it verbatim to you anyway, but this is where we are in the Bible.

  SPEAKER_00: I I guarantee you that um, or I suggest for you, excuse me, that you get in the word for yourself that you don't just take anybody else's word um if they're quoting the Bible.

  SPEAKER_00: Get in that get in the Bible and make sure that that the word is lining up with what people are saying, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: I'm going to share this story with you, and you can go and look it up yourself, and you can just kind of compare the odds and ends with it, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: So if you're looking for Joshua in your Bible, it's in the Old Testament and it's um after Deuteronomy and it's before Judges.

  SPEAKER_00: So just in case you don't know where that's at, I just want to give you a little direction on that, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, um, when we look at this story where action activated pivotal change in lives and in history, this is this is a great example.

  SPEAKER_00: The battle of Jericho is an amazing story.
• 6:48
  SPEAKER_00: So God um spoke with Joshua and told Joshua to do something, which is which was really out of the norm, out of the realm of everyday um going to war battles.

  SPEAKER_00: So um this it's just a pivotal event.
• 7:08
  SPEAKER_00: It's just I get excited about this story, sorry.
• 7:11
  SPEAKER_00: Um so um the Israelites that were led out of Egypt, they are going to Canaan and they're gonna take down um they're gonna take down Jericho, okay?
• 7:23
  SPEAKER_00: So Joshua is told by God to do something that's completely um different, and it's not like your normal siege or your normal tactics for going to war.

  SPEAKER_00: He told Joshua specific instructions on what to do in order to take down this wall.
• 7:41
  SPEAKER_00: So he told Joshua to walk around the city for seven days.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_00: For the first six days, he had to walk around one time.
• 7:53
  SPEAKER_00: And he had the priests that were um in the front and the back, and he also had um they were blowing trumpets.

  SPEAKER_00: Actually, the trumpet was a ram horn.
• 8:05
  SPEAKER_00: Let me just clarify that.
• 8:06
  SPEAKER_00: I don't want you to think of like a trumpet like in a marching band.
• 8:09
  SPEAKER_00: It's a ram horn, okay.
• 8:10
  SPEAKER_00: So I just want to make sure there's clarity on that.
• 8:12
  SPEAKER_00: And he's having um the priests blow the trumpets, and they are to be completely quiet, except for the the the marching and the ram's horns that are being blown, okay, for the first six days.

  SPEAKER_00: And Joshua tells all of the Israelites, and there's about 40,000 um armed men that are marching around this wall with Joshua.

  SPEAKER_00: That's a lot of men to try to be quiet.
• 8:36
  SPEAKER_00: I can't get five people in a room for five seconds to just be quiet.
• 8:40
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's like it's could you imagine this for six days straight, complete silence, quiet while you're marching around this uh the walls, okay?
• 8:50
  SPEAKER_00: So they're they're marching around, and it's pretty exciting because they're wondering how is this gonna work?

  SPEAKER_00: All we're doing is walking around in a circle, you know.

  SPEAKER_00: So they walk around one time each day.

  SPEAKER_00: Each day, one time, okay.
• 9:04
  SPEAKER_00: The seventh day, Joshua or God told Joshua that on the seventh day, He wants them to walk around seven times.

  SPEAKER_00: So they have to get up really early and they start, you know, I think it right at dawn, if I believe it says, I think it says start, they start right at dawn, or or maybe even before.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll have to look back into that one.

  SPEAKER_00: Anyway, they they start really early and they have to walk around the wall on the seventh day seven times.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay.

  SPEAKER_00: Then after the seventh time, when they're blowing the trumpets, Joshua tells everybody to shout.

  SPEAKER_00: Just shout.
• 9:47
  SPEAKER_00: Probably just just, I don't know, shout, you know, um, I don't know what they say.

  SPEAKER_00: He just tells them to shout.
• 9:55
  SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm I'm trying to guess that he's probably, you know, like getting them all geared up or whatever, you know, how when you get get your little pet talk and your motivational speech, and someone's getting you geared up and and then you start shouting and getting excited.

  SPEAKER_00: I kind of envision something like that, but I'm not like a hundred percent sure if that makes any sense.

  SPEAKER_00: So in this Bible, I think it's amazing.

  SPEAKER_00: So here's one I want to point out to you guys with this story.

  SPEAKER_00: This is where I'm going with all of this today.
• 10:22
  SPEAKER_00: When we're talking about activation takes action or activation takes action, I'm sorry.
• 10:27
  SPEAKER_00: Um, when God instructs Joshua to have them march around, it's because he had promised them the city would bring about its fall through a miraculous means.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 10:42
  SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing.
• 10:43
  SPEAKER_00: What if Joshua did not listen to God and take the action?
• 10:50
  SPEAKER_00: What do you think would have happened?
• 10:51
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, seriously, come on, what would have happened?
• 10:54
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, we would not be talking about this.
• 10:56
  SPEAKER_00: This would not be in history probably.
• 10:58
  SPEAKER_00: But I want to talk about seven ways looking into the story in the Battle of Jericho, um, at um when it comes to activating action.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry I keep getting tongue twisted on that.

  SPEAKER_00: So I I would come up with a topic that would just make me get a tongue twisted anyway.

  SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.

  SPEAKER_00: I have seven points that I want to talk about.
• 11:28
  SPEAKER_00: The first point, first of all, number one, is follow God.
• 11:32
  SPEAKER_00: We want to follow God, even if the journey seems impossible or unexpected.
• 11:39
  SPEAKER_00: Could you imagine Joshua when God's telling Joshua what to do?
• 11:42
  SPEAKER_00: Joshua going, hmm?
• 11:44
  SPEAKER_00: I'm not really sure.
• 11:45
  SPEAKER_00: I'm not really sure that's really what we should be doing.
• 11:49
  SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, it's like that that just seems like something that's totally impossible.
• 11:53
  SPEAKER_00: If I just walk around the city, the walls are just gonna fall on their own.
• 11:57
  SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, can you imagine how you know he might have had some doubt and just like some unbelief in it?

  SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, is when you follow God, even if the journey does seem impossible or it's unexpected, you need to still follow God.

  SPEAKER_00: That is the key.

  SPEAKER_00: That's number one.
• 12:15
  SPEAKER_00: Number two is when we listen, we can hear God speaking to us.
• 12:20
  SPEAKER_00: When we listen, so vital, like when we were talking about in the last episode, talk suck, stay suck.

  SPEAKER_00: We have to listen.
• 12:28
  SPEAKER_00: We have to be careful what we listen to and what we say, both.
• 12:31
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's a revolving door kind of thing.
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_00: So when we listen, though, we can actually hear God speaking to us.
• 12:38
  SPEAKER_00: God wants to speak to us.
• 12:40
  SPEAKER_00: God spoke to Joshua and clearly gave him instructions on what to do.
• 12:44
  SPEAKER_00: And Joshua, being a good listener, he abided in that.
• 12:49
  SPEAKER_00: He was very obedient to God and he did it.
• 12:52
  SPEAKER_00: So that's really good, too.
• 12:54
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, the third one, the outcome wasn't instant.
• 12:57
  SPEAKER_00: Did you notice that?
• 12:58
  SPEAKER_00: They marched around.
• 13:00
  SPEAKER_00: Could you imagine the very first day marching around the walls of Jericho going, this is kind of pointless.
• 13:04
  SPEAKER_00: What are we doing out here?
• 13:06
  SPEAKER_00: Like, what's happening?
• 13:07
  SPEAKER_00: You know, is you know, you're, you know, I I get it.
• 13:10
  SPEAKER_00: 40,000 people marching.
• 13:13
  SPEAKER_00: I'm just thinking about it, like each step.
• 13:15
  SPEAKER_00: And they're but they're being quiet, you know, and they're just marching, consistently marching, you know, like like they do in the army.

  SPEAKER_00: They're really, you know, straight and upright, and they look good, and they probably just might look amazing, actually, just marching around.
• 13:29
  SPEAKER_00: I can imagine all of that.
• 13:31
  SPEAKER_00: Um, I think the military look absolutely amazing when they marched, but anyhow, um, it wasn't instant.

  SPEAKER_00: The first day it didn't fall, the second day, third day, fourth day, fifth day, sixth day, even the sixth day after six days, and it took seven times on the seventh day for it to fall.

  SPEAKER_00: So God did not give them an immediate answer.
• 13:53
  SPEAKER_00: He did not give them, I mean, he did not solve the problem immediately, it was not instant.

  SPEAKER_00: So we have to keep waiting on the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: We have to keep waiting on the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's number three.
• 14:05
  SPEAKER_00: Number four, God has a purpose, He is not random.

  SPEAKER_00: God is never random, ever.

  SPEAKER_00: He He has a divine purpose, He's got divine characteristics, and He has literally created each and every individual person with a specific person.

  SPEAKER_00: And he didn't pick it randomly.

  SPEAKER_00: He didn't draw your name out of a hat and be like, okay, today I'm picking you.

  SPEAKER_00: He already knew he was gonna pick you before, you know, before we were picked, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: We have a purpose.
• 14:37
  SPEAKER_00: We are not randomly chosen.
• 14:40
  SPEAKER_00: And and if you think about that, that's pretty, pretty amazing to think that we we have never been randomly chosen.

  SPEAKER_00: How many times did you ever get chosen, like in school or whatever, just randomly, because um, you know, maybe you're the last person in line, or hey, hey, you, you know, you're the closest person to the garbage.

  SPEAKER_00: Hey, you take out the trash, and you got randomly picked to do something, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: God's not a random God, He's He's He's very purposeful, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: So that's number four.

  SPEAKER_00: Number five is we ourselves, um, we are not sufficient in and of ourselves.

  SPEAKER_00: We actually need God.
• 15:15
  SPEAKER_00: We need God to help us through the activation process.

  SPEAKER_00: As we take the actions that God gives us, He is going to give us the instruction manual.

  SPEAKER_00: The instruction manual.

  SPEAKER_00: That's what this is.
• 15:30
  SPEAKER_00: This is our instruction manual on how to how to get through this, okay?
• 15:34
  SPEAKER_00: And it's pretty exciting.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, number six is obedience in in God matters.
• 15:40
  SPEAKER_00: We need to be obedient.
• 15:42
  SPEAKER_00: Now, if God would have gone to Joshua and said, Joshua, I want you to do this, and Joshua was just like, Yeah, I'm not gonna do that.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna do it my way, or I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna I'm gonna talk to the fellas over here, and I'm gonna get some of their ideas, and we're gonna compile our own, our own, um, our own way of taking down the city or this wall, I mean, excuse me.

  SPEAKER_00: And um, could you imagine what God would be like?
• 16:06
  SPEAKER_00: Uh, yeah, no, you need to be obedient.
• 16:08
  SPEAKER_00: Like when your parent tells you, hey, go take out the trash, you go take out the trash, or you get your rear end whooped, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like as a child, like you, you, I mean, there's some consequences for when we're not obedient.
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, so we need to be obedient to God because it it's very important, by the way, that we are obedient.

  SPEAKER_00: Number seven is what God promises, He will fulfill.
• 16:31
  SPEAKER_00: Because He's not a liar ever.
• 16:34
  SPEAKER_00: So every excuse me, every promise in this Bible, He will fulfill it.

  SPEAKER_00: He's not able to lie.
• 16:42
  SPEAKER_00: We are because we're born into sin.
• 16:44
  SPEAKER_00: Lying is a sin.
• 16:45
  SPEAKER_00: So we are able to do that.
• 16:47
  SPEAKER_00: God cannot sin.
• 16:48
  SPEAKER_00: He is it's impossible for him to do that.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_00: So, just in case you didn't know that, so let's get activated.

  SPEAKER_00: How are we gonna get activated?
• 16:55
  SPEAKER_00: Just taking this amazing story, okay, of Joshua taking, you know, these 40,000 armed men on the wall, walking them around quietly, trumpets blowing, the ram's horn going.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, they also carried the ark.

  SPEAKER_00: I forgot to tell you they they they carried the ark with them.
• 17:12
  SPEAKER_00: I forgot to say that part.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a little bit more to this story than I probably shared, and and we could get really, we could really dive in and dissect this, but I don't want to take all day.

  SPEAKER_00: I could really go into this story for for quite a while.

  SPEAKER_00: But anyway, but how do we get activated?
• 17:26
  SPEAKER_00: How does this story affect us?
• 17:28
  SPEAKER_00: What is this, what does this do for us?

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, this shows us that God has a plan for our life, and it may not look like what our plan is.

  SPEAKER_00: So we have to go to God and pray to him and ask him and say, Hey God, what is it that you want?

  SPEAKER_00: You know, what is it that you need from me today?
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_00: What would you like me to do today?
• 17:44
  SPEAKER_00: How can I help you?
• 17:45
  SPEAKER_00: How can I serve you?
• 17:46
  SPEAKER_00: But you know, what is it, Lord?
• 17:48
  SPEAKER_00: Help me today to see where you want me to be.
• 17:50
  SPEAKER_00: Activate me.
• 17:52
  SPEAKER_00: Give me the activation, take me out of the box and turn, push the button so I get turned on, and so we can start the action process.

  SPEAKER_00: And then once once he gets it activated and and and that phone or whatever is it is is in your possession, then you get to take the action with the activation.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay.

  SPEAKER_00: I hope I'm making some kind of sense to y'all that y'all kind of get what I'm saying.

  SPEAKER_00: I really do.
• 18:18
  SPEAKER_00: Um, so um, these same actions can be used in activating um in pulling down strongholds, okay.

  SPEAKER_00: As as it says in as we talked about in episode one, we talked about in 2 Corinthians 10, 4, um, to um just think of the freedom that comes with change, blessing, and freedom from strongholds when we start activating our thought process and we start grabbing captive the thoughts that we shouldn't have in our mind, and we start casting them down, casting down our imaginations and literally pulling down the strong, pulling down the strongholds, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: Pulling them down one by one by one.

  SPEAKER_00: How does that happen?
• 19:04
  SPEAKER_00: It takes activation.
• 19:06
  SPEAKER_00: You have to get activated in order for strongholds to to come off from you, okay.

  SPEAKER_00: Your house, it doesn't get dirty by itself and it doesn't get cleaned by itself.

  SPEAKER_00: It takes some activation and action.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, something activated it and then it takes action to go and clean it up, okay?
• 19:25
  SPEAKER_00: You know, when we put the trash out on the street, we got the trash truck.
• 19:28
  SPEAKER_00: The trash trucks are out there taking action.
• 19:30
  SPEAKER_00: They're out there picking up all of our trash, okay?
• 19:33
  SPEAKER_00: And but we had to activate it.
• 19:35
  SPEAKER_00: We had to get all of our trash out of the house and out to the curb in order for the trash man to come and do us a service and do us a favor because they're so awesome, and that's what they get paid to do.

  SPEAKER_00: So, you know, we have to be mindful and cognizant of what we are doing when it comes to crushing strongholds.

  SPEAKER_00: And I just want to say this really quick to you, real quick.
• 19:56
  SPEAKER_00: Sorry, um, people are trying to call me.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, in this series that I've been sharing with you in the last four episodes now, counting this one, crushing strongholds is taking a look at yourself, doing some self-evaluating and making a decision as to what needs to stay and what needs to go, and and taking it right to God and saying, God, um, I want to be the best version of myself.

  SPEAKER_00: I want to be in your perfect will for your acceptance.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay.

  SPEAKER_00: We want that, you know, in Romans uh 12, 2, we want to be in God's perfect will, okay.

  SPEAKER_00: When we're renewing our mind, okay, when we're putting on the new man, okay, in Ephesians.

  SPEAKER_00: I think it's Ephesians 4 8.
• 20:44
  SPEAKER_00: So we need to make sure, we really need to make sure that we're following these steps in order to get that going, okay.

  SPEAKER_00: So I'm encouraging you today.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm seriously wanting to just encourage you to get activated, okay?

  SPEAKER_00: Just start with the activation.

  SPEAKER_00: I really want you to be able to um dive in and um just just annihilate these strongholds that are keeping you from where where you should be in in your in your day to day life, in your home, with your family, with your kids, with your loved ones, um whether it be at work or at school or or Whatever it is, whatever it is, we you know, we need to crush some strongholds and stay on top of it so that way the walls will come down.

  SPEAKER_00: I I really have days where I have to have a little pep talk with myself and I have to go sit at the feet of Jesus and be like, God, I'm I'm really having a hard time here.

  SPEAKER_00: And it's not always easy.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm still battling my own strongholds in my own life, and everybody does.

  SPEAKER_00: We all have strongholds, and I know God wants us to be free from them.

  SPEAKER_00: God wants us to live in His in His purpose.

  SPEAKER_00: He wants us to just not just be scratching the surface.

  SPEAKER_00: He wants to give us everything that this word says that we are promised to have.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, he didn't just write this, you know, he didn't just allow this book to come alive just to sit on your shelf and not be activated.

  SPEAKER_00: This is an active book, and it's so important that we take it and we read it and we start living by it and and we just chew on it every single day.

  SPEAKER_00: And things that are in your life that are happening, those strongholds, they're gonna start to crumble, they're gonna start to break, they're gonna start to fall down.
