- 2:31Speaker 4: that last week. I've lost track of time, but yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 4: ided week, Yeah it was last week. It feels like
- 2:39Speaker 4: ages ago and right now. At the same time, I
- 2:41Speaker 4: feel like Doctor Manhattan right now.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I attended the Better Cells Fellowship and it was just amazing.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Shout out to everyone who attended with me, all the
- 2:52Speaker 4: alumni and everyone up at.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Noel Farm in Vermont of all.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Motherfucking places for putting all this an incredible, incredible event
- 3:03Speaker 4: and one of the best reads of my life for real,
- 3:05Speaker 4: So thank you so much for that. And I'll have
- 3:08Speaker 4: more to talk about it on Instagram and other places,
- 3:11Speaker 4: and perhaps, you know, soon on the show. Well uh
- 3:15Speaker 4: maybe on Patreon, I think that might. Okay, Yeah, we'll
- 3:18Speaker 4: talk more about it on Patreon. So head over to
- 3:20Speaker 4: patreon dot com slash for All Nerds and joined the few,
- 3:24Speaker 4: the proud, the millions, you know what I mean, a
- 3:28Speaker 4: fan fam over there, and you know, you'll get the
- 3:30Speaker 4: exclusive exclusive on what happened at Noel Farm, which was
- 3:35Speaker 4: really incredible, and hopefully, you know, in the nearest future,
- 3:39Speaker 4: we'll be doing something with the for All Nerds and
- 3:42Speaker 4: something of that relation, you know, over there, So lookout that. Yeah, No,
- 3:47Speaker 4: most definitely definitely could be doing some things there. I'm
- 3:50Speaker 4: just not sure exactly what, but definitely, so look out
- 3:53Speaker 4: for that. Effecial if you're in the Vermont area or
- 3:55Speaker 4: happened to be I wanted to talk about. You know,
- 3:58Speaker 4: it's uh, I've never had this experienced before. I never
- 4:02Speaker 4: never had that, you know better sel fellowship. But I've
- 4:04Speaker 4: also never had the experience of what happens when you
- 4:09Speaker 4: don't win an award.
- 4:14Speaker 3: What a segue.
- 4:17Speaker 4: You know, It's like it's always the best of times,
- 4:20Speaker 4: in the worst times. You don't remember how blessed we
- 4:22Speaker 4: are in every instant of it.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, what are you referring to?
- 4:26Speaker 4: I'm referring to San Diego Comic Con and the Eisner Awards,
- 4:31Speaker 4: which I was not directly nominated, but my book Jimmy
- 4:37Speaker 4: Hendris Purple Haze, and my amazing colorist Justin Prokowitch was
- 4:42Speaker 4: nominated for.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Or is still you.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Know, you're still nominated award? Yeah, and still an Eisner
- 4:52Speaker 4: Award nominated. People don't is still Oscar nomin Oh?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah we still? We still trust me.
- 4:59Speaker 4: That's on the bio author of the Eisner Award nominated
- 5:04Speaker 4: Jimmy Henders Purple Hates.
- 5:05Speaker 1: That's why I ain't taking that away, beautiful, But.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I did learn what happens when you do not win
- 5:12Speaker 4: because you know, I definitely learned what happened. You get nominated,
- 5:14Speaker 4: you know, you get all the texts in the world,
- 5:16Speaker 4: everybody cheering, Yo, you see you got nominated, sending me
- 5:19Speaker 4: all the articles all that.
- 5:21Speaker 2: When you don't win, well, I'll say, I will say,
- 5:25Speaker 2: at least from a personal perspective, I didn't even realized
- 5:28Speaker 2: that was happening, like, to be honest, Like I was
- 5:32Speaker 2: just like, like the first time I realized you didn't
- 5:34Speaker 2: win was when you wrote it for today. I'm like, like, damn,
- 5:37Speaker 2: that happened already. So yeah, not so blame blame.
- 5:41Speaker 3: My head, not my heart.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It was definitely from you.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's just like what you mean, ship, y'all have the
- 5:47Speaker 2: ceremony already, you know.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure that's the majority of people. I just
- 5:51Speaker 4: also know there were people who were at the ceremony,
- 5:54Speaker 4: you know, and they definitely did not.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Hold that l text and it wasn't And also.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's never as loud as like when the nomination happens,
- 6:09Speaker 2: right like, because the nomination gets not to say that
- 6:11Speaker 2: they didn't announce the winner. It's just that the way
- 6:14Speaker 2: that that information flows as much different. You know, when
- 6:19Speaker 2: everyone has a chance of add it and one like me, me, me, oh,
- 6:22Speaker 2: you know, look at my ship. Yeah, and then it's
- 6:24Speaker 2: like that's the one. Everybody else goes dead silence.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 4: You know basically how it happened because the took place
- 6:30Speaker 4: at San Diego Karma Coom Friday night. I actually thought
- 6:33Speaker 4: they were Saturday because they were Saturday, I think last year,
- 6:36Speaker 4: but maybe not.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But yeah, there Friday night.
- 6:39Speaker 4: So I didn't even realize that myself because I thought
- 6:41Speaker 4: it was Saturday night. You know, No, I knew they
- 6:43Speaker 4: were that weekend, but I just thought, oh shit, there
- 6:45Speaker 4: Saturday and Friday night.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Oh ship there Friday. So you know, how's it energy?
- 6:49Speaker 1: All that?
- 6:49Speaker 4: And I went to sleep because that's just you know,
- 6:51Speaker 4: San Diego, and I wasn't there.
- 6:53Speaker 3: So it's like and you're not staying up for three hours?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah like that you know that in the morning.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Yeah, And so I woke up in the middle of
- 7:00Speaker 4: the night checking my phone and it was dead quiet.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I was like, okay, I lost.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I lost you know an insert like you Yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I was like, oh, there's no text, you know, there's
- 7:14Speaker 1: no nothing.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I don't even need to check it, you know, won
- 7:17Speaker 4: or shout out to Jordi Jordi, Butlair won for their
- 7:21Speaker 4: amazing work.
- 7:22Speaker 1: You know, I cannot lie.
- 7:24Speaker 4: When I saw the nominations, I was like, Okay, Justin's
- 7:27Speaker 4: good because he got that, but Jordy's up there for
- 7:30Speaker 4: fucking Absolute wonder Woman. When I saw Jordi was up
- 7:34Speaker 4: there for Absolute wonder Woman, which actually ended up winning
- 7:37Speaker 4: Best Series as well, and it's fire as fuck, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 4: I'm I was good to be mad. I was like, ah,
- 7:42Speaker 4: fucking Jordy, does that work? Justin did that work? You know,
- 7:46Speaker 4: all the nominees did that work. But I just knew
- 7:48Speaker 4: to be tight with Jordi up there and then with
- 7:50Speaker 4: them winning Best Series as well. You know, it's always
- 7:53Speaker 4: my always thing is like when the Lakers get beat,
- 7:55Speaker 4: I'm like, whoever beats the Lakers better going on to
- 7:57Speaker 4: win the fucking Chip, you know what I mean. If
- 7:59Speaker 4: they don't win to Chip, then I'm tight. So Jordi
- 8:02Speaker 4: went into Chip and I'm like, Okay, that's good. We
- 8:04Speaker 4: got beat by the you know, a champ, so respect. Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 4: it's respect, respect doing. And that's a great book. Jimmy
- 8:10Speaker 4: Henders Purple Hayes is a great book and also on
- 8:12Speaker 4: Eisner Award nominated graphic Novel, So you know, thank you
- 8:16Speaker 4: and thank you to everyone who's nominated. It's fucking it's
- 8:20Speaker 4: still the most unbelievable thing in the world to me,
- 8:22Speaker 4: because it's like I still like, you know, we not.
- 8:25Speaker 4: I mean, just the idea that we wrote a Jimmy
- 8:27Speaker 4: Henders graphord novel, it's crazy to me, you know, to
- 8:31Speaker 4: this day, that shit is crazy. And we got to
- 8:34Speaker 4: put that man in space, you know what I mean,
- 8:37Speaker 4: and got to tell the story that we wanted to tell.
- 8:40Speaker 4: And as black as that book is, and as focused
- 8:44Speaker 4: on revolution and what revolution means and what black music
- 8:48Speaker 4: means and all the other things to be put into
- 8:50Speaker 4: this book, it's like just that it exists in and
- 8:53Speaker 4: of itself.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's so dope to me.
- 8:55Speaker 4: You know, the fact that we have a Daylight Soul
- 8:58Speaker 4: shout out a direct reference in there that only a
- 9:00Speaker 4: few people have caught the people caught it, you know
- 9:03Speaker 4: that ship like that is.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Like, I mean, listen, that's all that matters.
- 9:07Speaker 2: That's what That's what pusha T said about that one
- 9:10Speaker 2: line he has and I don't know if he said
- 9:13Speaker 2: it is in the Trumpets where he's just like, no one.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Got that line or what the line because I didn't.
- 9:20Speaker 2: He something about ecstasy and Houdini and it relates to
- 9:24Speaker 2: there was someone in the group Hudi that was.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Oh, they didn't get that.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I got that, knew that because that's of a particular
- 9:31Speaker 2: time and you know, particular stuff. So he he had mentioned,
- 9:34Speaker 2: it's just similar to what you're saying, Like he had
- 9:36Speaker 2: mentioned how he was like he didn't care that it
- 9:38Speaker 2: was such a deep cut.
- 9:39Speaker 1: He was just fired you put that.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh, I put so many deep cuts in Jimmy
- 9:44Speaker 4: that I didn't care for anyone, but well, I put
- 9:47Speaker 4: them for specific people, and that fi I was surprised
- 9:50Speaker 4: when other people got them because I put them for people.
- 9:53Speaker 4: I was like, Okay, this specific person, when they read this,
- 9:55Speaker 4: they're gonna get it. And then when other people got them, like,
- 9:58Speaker 4: oh ship, there's more dork South and I thought, and
- 10:01Speaker 4: that's great, you know.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So the fact that it.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Exists, yeah, I don't you know, I didn't write this
- 10:06Speaker 4: for anything but to write it, and that it exists now,
- 10:11Speaker 4: and that it's gotten these award nominations and all the
- 10:16Speaker 4: acclaim and all the love, and anytime anyone has read it,
- 10:19Speaker 4: they've just been really amazed. And impressed, and I just
- 10:24Speaker 4: love conversating with people about it. So you know, all
- 10:27Speaker 4: that shit is so dope and every part of this
- 10:30Speaker 4: has been the most beautiful journey.
- 10:31Speaker 1: So thank you.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yes, and always as always, congratulations to you. Definitely still
- 10:36Speaker 2: an incredible feat. Win or lose, this is amazing.
- 10:40Speaker 4: It's all when it's all win, there's no loser. Like
- 10:42Speaker 4: you know, I said, Justin is a winner. To me,
- 10:44Speaker 4: we're all winners. You know my voice about the crat
- 10:47Speaker 4: talking about it, because yeah, it's serious. So thank you again,
- 10:52Speaker 4: thank it everybody for that.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's been so dope.
- 10:55Speaker 4: And if you still want to get a signed copy
- 10:57Speaker 4: of Jimmy Henders Purple Hayes, hit up Anyone Comic. They're
- 11:01Speaker 4: on Instagram, They're on every social media, Anyone Comics and

- 11:10Speaker 4: me up and tell me, yo, sign it to this person,
- 11:12Speaker 4: I'll even make that happen. So hit up anyone comments
- 11:15Speaker 4: and get yourself a signed copy of Jimmy Hendris Purple
- 11:18Speaker 4: hay Still in stores now, first print might be, I
- 11:22Speaker 4: mean it's sold out at the production level. So if
- 11:25Speaker 4: you don't get a copy soon. That will be the
- 11:27Speaker 4: end of the first print.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 11:30Speaker 3: More winning, more.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Winning, you know, go ahead and get you that.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Speaking of winning, like we said, it was San Diego
- 11:37Speaker 4: Comic Con this weekend.
- 11:39Speaker 1: We did not attend. I was there last year.
- 11:41Speaker 4: I loved it, but it's also a lot of money,
- 11:44Speaker 4: and I just you know, I didn't feel like doing
- 11:45Speaker 4: that this year. And I would if I was at
- 11:48Speaker 4: there Osner Awards and oh you know, I would have
- 11:51Speaker 4: been like I mighta Kanye that bitch. So it's probably
- 11:53Speaker 4: good that I was, Yeah, I'm gonna let you finish.
- 11:58Speaker 4: But Jimmy Henders Purple, Hey, I would have made news
- 12:07Speaker 4: Boy been I mean banned from the maybe oh not
- 12:13Speaker 4: maybe I wouldn't do that to Joy. Yeah, like I said,
- 12:18Speaker 4: that's an amazing book. Absolute wonder Woman. It's actually one
- 12:21Speaker 4: of my favorite of the Absolute line. I'm really not
- 12:24Speaker 4: feeling the Absolute Superman or most of it. Well, as
- 12:27Speaker 4: the Marching Man in the School Flash was dope as
- 12:30Speaker 4: what I've seen, but Wonder Woman was like from the
- 12:33Speaker 4: gen I was like this, yeah, yeah, so.
- 12:35Speaker 2: What happened SDCC that mattered, Like well, it's also because
- 12:40Speaker 2: a lot of the major like houses studios weren't really
- 12:43Speaker 2: even there.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they kind of skipped it a little bit this year, like.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I know, Marvel completely skipped Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Marvel skip like hall, you know the big hall where.
- 12:52Speaker 2: All the there was Peacemaker news. So that tied right
- 12:56Speaker 2: into like his his appearance in Superman film you just mentioned,
- 13:03Speaker 2: you know, wonder Woman. Aztec Batman was announced. They also
- 13:08Speaker 2: announced the next Avatar, the Last Avatar, the Last Airbander
- 13:13Speaker 2: spin off Avatar seven Havens. I'm really interested in this
- 13:17Speaker 2: one because I like, I see the character like a
- 13:20Speaker 2: young girl, I guess, and then she has one one
- 13:24Speaker 2: leg and she has some type of it's like a lynx.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I don't know if y'all know what a lynx is,
- 13:28Speaker 2: but it's a type of like big cat. It looks
- 13:30Speaker 2: like a lynx mix for like a monkey, I think.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And then then it has she has like a companion
- 13:37Speaker 2: and a back, some dude in the back. And then
- 13:39Speaker 2: it's you know, this futuristic looking city that's all made
- 13:43Speaker 2: out of earth and so she according to like that
- 13:46Speaker 2: the quick summary like she is a future earth Bender
- 13:48Speaker 2: or she is an Earthbnder that finds out that she
- 13:50Speaker 2: is the next Avatar, So okay, then you go through
- 13:53Speaker 2: all of that. So and in Seid it's set after Korra.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I never got to Korra instead of and not finished
- 13:59Speaker 1: the first Avatar. Man.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I've enjoyed what I saw, you know, I loved it
- 14:02Speaker 4: for what I saw. I just never got to the
- 14:04Speaker 4: end of it. I'll probably you know, just watched this
- 14:07Speaker 4: just to you know, go from here.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, Aztec Batman.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 4: I was done to talk about that real quick because
- 14:15Speaker 4: I I'm not sure how this will go.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:19Speaker 4: It's been off and off for the DC animation. It
- 14:21Speaker 4: wasn't like you know, in their heyday when that shit
- 14:23Speaker 4: was everything was fire. Lately, though, they've kind of got
- 14:27Speaker 4: back to it. Which one did I just peep k
- 14:29Speaker 4: newish that was really dope? Oh shit, I can I
- 14:34Speaker 4: remember something On HBO Max. I was peeping those new
- 14:38Speaker 4: but on the animation note.
- 14:39Speaker 1: A lot of.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Their movies are on YouTube for free, which I just
- 14:43Speaker 4: found out because for some reason, All Star Superman the
- 14:47Speaker 4: animated version is not on HBO Max. I do not
- 14:50Speaker 4: understand why, but it happens to be on YouTube for free.
- 14:53Speaker 4: So I peeped that the other day because I hadn't
- 14:54Speaker 4: watched that in a minute. I reread All Star Superman
- 14:57Speaker 4: before I saw Superman, but I wanted to see the
- 14:59Speaker 4: animation one, and.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Goddamn it is fire.
- 15:01Speaker 4: So if y'all have not seen it, if I talked
- 15:03Speaker 4: about this on threads, but if you've seen the New
- 15:05Speaker 4: Superman and you want some really fire Superman content right now,
- 15:10Speaker 4: go to YouTube and put in All Star Superman. It's
- 15:13Speaker 4: free with ads. You got the you know, big Dog YouTube.
- 15:16Speaker 4: You know you ain't got none of that. You can
- 15:18Speaker 4: watch it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm about to invest in that, the Big Dog YouTube. Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 1: because I just watched YouTube.
- 15:22Speaker 3: If you don't want that, you do watch Yeah.
- 15:24Speaker 2: If you watch a lot of YouTube, and I understand
- 15:25Speaker 2: it's and there's so much mass and stuff on YouTube
- 15:29Speaker 2: that it is like yo, it's like YouTube and the
- 15:31Speaker 2: YouTube music.
- 15:32Speaker 4: There's a lot of wins on YouTube for real, Like,
- 15:34Speaker 4: but they got All Star Superman and it is one
- 15:38Speaker 4: of my favorite ever, if not my favorite ever Superman story.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And the animated movie is of course not as good
- 15:45Speaker 4: as the book, but it's a damn close. It's damn close.
- 15:48Speaker 4: It's really good. So I would definitely keep that. Yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 4: as that Superman, well, I mean it was we'll see.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Did you see the gen V season two trailer? I've
- 15:59Speaker 3: been Are you into that anymore?
- 16:01Speaker 2: I feel like you don't care so much about the
- 16:03Speaker 2: boys in that universe anymore?
- 16:04Speaker 4: And then the whole I feel like it crossover with
- 16:08Speaker 4: the Boys that the trailer felt like, oh, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 4: we're gonna put the boys in here, and then they're
- 16:13Speaker 4: gonna yeah, yeah, paying her, and then they're gond vantage
- 16:16Speaker 4: five minutes later when she goes back to school.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Because I watched the trailer and I was like, okay.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I'm yeah, no, yeah, I know, as someone's read every
- 16:25Speaker 4: issue the Boys comic, I still and regrets it. I've
- 16:30Speaker 4: kind of regretted a lot of the time I spent
- 16:31Speaker 4: with that show, and I don't think I'll ever go back.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Walking Dead is still alive.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, amazingly, I'm good Season three and Darryl.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Muny terms will fight Godzilla.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Oh. On that note, I did read Godzilla versus the
- 16:48Speaker 4: Avengers versus Ddzilla destroys the Marvel Universe, and I'm here
- 16:52Speaker 4: for it. Like I read the first issue of that, Jordan,
- 16:54Speaker 4: I'm definitely here for it. It is as hilarious and
- 16:57Speaker 4: ridiculous as it should be. Guys, Willa should have tears
- 17:00Speaker 4: of Celestial's head off in the first issue, and you
- 17:03Speaker 4: know it just goes from there and.
- 17:05Speaker 2: More like pop culture crossover. Captain America will fight the
- 17:08Speaker 2: Xeno War from Alien.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, they've been doing hard with that.
- 17:12Speaker 4: They had they had the Avengers versus the Aliens and
- 17:15Speaker 4: that was written by like Hitman or somebody, you know.
- 17:18Speaker 4: They they've been going like super hard with that with
- 17:21Speaker 4: these scenes. Predator fought spider Man recently. Yeah, yeah, you
- 17:25Speaker 4: know Marvel, you know, Disney Ball, Fox. So that's where
- 17:28Speaker 4: we're here at.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I'm a huge Paradise fan. They said that they're gonna
- 17:32Speaker 2: reveal why Homegirl once.
- 17:35Speaker 1: That we so fucking bad.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, one the other things they're gonna give a whole
- 17:39Speaker 2: backstory for Jane.
- 17:40Speaker 4: So I'm wondering where Paradise will go in this second
- 17:43Speaker 4: season because I say it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Out, I'm just like, I'll see outside now right here
- 17:48Speaker 2: outside the bubble, what's happening now? The whole world of
- 17:52Speaker 2: talks about or does that kill the does that kill
- 17:55Speaker 2: the does the chill? The show was because you know,
- 17:59Speaker 2: it was all about the bubble and then yes, the
- 18:01Speaker 2: bubbles a lie but then do we care about.
- 18:04Speaker 3: The wasteland.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Already wastland because you know what I said, yeah it was,
- 18:12Speaker 2: it's a wasteland to a degree.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I don't know, like if you give me any type
- 18:16Speaker 4: of post apocalyptic you know, walking deadish.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Without zombies, mad Max.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I've seen it before, nigga, like we all have seen
- 18:27Speaker 4: it a million times. That you got to give me
- 18:30Speaker 4: something more original and weirder than that, because I really
- 18:34Speaker 4: like you. I thoroughly enjoyed that first season that ship.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 18:39Speaker 4: It's also like my type of TV where when it's
- 18:43Speaker 4: like terrible but good and terrible, like Shorty killing niggas
- 18:46Speaker 4: over weeds.
- 18:47Speaker 1: You know, that's fantastic. No no, who no, no, no,
- 18:53Speaker 1: that holy up.
- 18:54Speaker 4: When when that nigga was like, yo, just give me
- 18:57Speaker 4: one last minute with my nieces and nephews, my nigga,
- 19:00Speaker 4: we know you about to die.
- 19:01Speaker 1: No, this shit is terrible, like they they played so
- 19:04Speaker 1: much into.
- 19:05Speaker 4: This thing about to die, you know, and they did.
- 19:08Speaker 4: It's that type of show. It's like Power, you know,
- 19:11Speaker 4: but look, I love you know.
- 19:14Speaker 3: I will never talk bat On.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'll never talk about on Power.
- 19:18Speaker 4: You're like, you know me, you know I've watched everything,
- 19:20Speaker 4: you know, other than Tommy show.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That's just ass nigga. Tommy deserves better. Yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 2: The other the only other news like I personally want
- 19:30Speaker 2: to height was the the two Star Wars shows.
- 19:35Speaker 3: So Ahsoka season two.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I don't know if you're into that because you didn't
- 19:38Speaker 2: really like the first one.
- 19:41Speaker 1: The first one, I'm praying for forgiveness.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And then they're doing a Darth Mall series Darth mauls Shadow.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I think it's is it animated?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Is that like c G I, yeah, it's animated.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Darth Maul has like spoiler alert for like a ten
- 19:54Speaker 4: year old fifteen I.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Don't know how many old shows.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Darth Maul has like the most incredible art throughout Clone Wars,
- 20:02Speaker 4: and then it ends in Rebels and like one like
- 20:06Speaker 4: right now, I'm just thinking about it. It's like because
- 20:09Speaker 4: basically he gets to go back and confront Obi Wan,
- 20:12Speaker 4: and it is it's a mirror image of their first
- 20:15Speaker 4: fight from when you know Obi Wan gets when Quegong
- 20:19Speaker 4: gets killed and obi Wan Chopshim in half and Darth
- 20:23Speaker 4: Marl is a perfect ending. So this takes place before
- 20:26Speaker 4: that obviously, because they're not resurrecting him again after that.
- 20:29Speaker 4: So it's like, ah, maybe, but I don't know. I've
- 20:32Speaker 4: kind of seen enough Darth Maul. But we'll see, because,
- 20:35Speaker 4: like I say, throughout Clone Wars and Rebels, they they
- 20:38Speaker 4: turn him from a one note horror show that he
- 20:41Speaker 4: is in Phantom Menace into a true character who goes
- 20:44Speaker 4: in through an incredible arc of revenge and then learning
- 20:48Speaker 4: that revenge and what it's about, and it's just a
- 20:52Speaker 4: it's incredible. Darth Maul is such a dope character over
- 20:55Speaker 4: that animated shit. Yeah, Dar Maul, Yeah if you And
- 21:00Speaker 4: that's what I'm saying, Like he's just in you know,
- 21:02Speaker 4: Phantom Menace, he's just a terror.
- 21:03Speaker 1: He has no real character, but you know they gave
- 21:06Speaker 1: with terrorsts. He was just fired just.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Being terror and then they give him real It's like
- 21:12Speaker 4: you know, Boba Fet was fired just being a bounty
- 21:15Speaker 4: hunter and then they bullshit.
- 21:17Speaker 2: You know, I'm sorry just to know because that birth
- 21:21Speaker 2: what you know now about the Mandalorian which ended up
- 21:23Speaker 2: in some bullshit.
- 21:24Speaker 3: But here we have a whole different universe.
- 21:27Speaker 2: We have trillions of Mandos now, you know, it's not
- 21:30Speaker 2: just one nigga.
- 21:31Speaker 1: No and that and that.
- 21:32Speaker 4: But see that's some good shot I'm talking about, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 4: the Book of Boba Fet, whereas like, no, that was
- 21:36Speaker 4: not only of mind jangle Fet being the you know,
- 21:42Speaker 4: father of the Tones. I think that's kind of cool actually,
- 21:44Speaker 4: So it did work out in the general sense. But
- 21:49Speaker 4: Darth Maul's story throughout the Tone Wars and Rebels is
- 21:53Speaker 4: some fire ship.
- 21:54Speaker 1: They gave him a brother Savage Oppress my.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Man, you know, even though he had to fire name
- 22:00Speaker 4: meets a grizzly and and you know it's it's a
- 22:03Speaker 4: lot that ship is dopepe, so we'll see this might
- 22:06Speaker 4: be dope. Yeah, I'm holding out hope. They also, I
- 22:11Speaker 4: guess it wasn't at San Diego Coma Coma. I thought
- 22:14Speaker 4: it was the new Avatar Fire and Ash from James Cameron.
- 22:19Speaker 4: The trailer dropped.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, did you see Did you go to
- 22:22Speaker 2: see that trailer?
- 22:24Speaker 1: And I'm glad I didn't. I'll be dead honest with y'all.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Sorry shout out to the you know, marketers putting that on,
- 22:29Speaker 4: but I'm really glad I did it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Like I didn't see the point, like you already know
- 22:33Speaker 2: what it is.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Yeah it is.
- 22:35Speaker 2: It's gonna be the same, you know, if started as Pocahontas.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Then it's gonna be it's becoming something else.
- 22:41Speaker 3: About this and it's the same ship yet that is
- 22:47Speaker 3: the bore.
- 22:47Speaker 2: And then it's the over acting and the terrible voice and.
- 22:52Speaker 4: The screaming yes, and the individuals and the white man
- 22:56Speaker 4: with dreads, which shout out to Tyler, I need to go.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Back to our review of the Avatar too, or whatever
- 23:04Speaker 2: it was, whatever the last one was, whether three years ago.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Remember the fucking.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Whale, Oh my god crying weal oh by shout off
- 23:16Speaker 2: to Joel.
- 23:17Speaker 4: We need to get some clips up of that one
- 23:19Speaker 4: because I need to see that the whale.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I remember us.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Laughing and we're in a theater laughing. You guys want
- 23:26Speaker 3: to laugh at that.
- 23:27Speaker 4: And then watching this new trailer, I was literally thinking,
- 23:30Speaker 4: I know there are shots from the last trailer that
- 23:33Speaker 4: I could switch and you wouldn't know because there was
- 23:35Speaker 4: a shot of one of the navvy pulling the bowl
- 23:37Speaker 4: and screaming, and I.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Know that shot was in the last trailer.
- 23:42Speaker 4: No, not recycling, but it's.
- 23:45Speaker 2: The same, it's the same story, it's the same things happened.
- 23:50Speaker 1: This one just has more firing, different more fire And
- 23:54Speaker 1: as at the end of the trailer.
- 23:56Speaker 4: The villain, I guess, says to one of the Navvy,
- 23:59Speaker 4: I don't know who the I can't tell all the
- 24:01Speaker 4: Sigourney Weaver. No, no, there's another feeling now and then no,
- 24:06Speaker 4: it's not Jake is in the.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Jakes the ces that turned into an actual good.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah, well, no, it's it's one of the Ja's kids,
- 24:15Speaker 4: I think, because it's one of the Sigourney Weaver looking kids,
- 24:18Speaker 4: or it's that Sigourney Weaver I can't remember.
- 24:20Speaker 2: With Sigourney Weaver like playing the kids made young. Yeah,
- 24:24Speaker 2: surn is voicing the younger n Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 4: And that's okay, what's that one? It's the young Sigourney
- 24:31Speaker 4: Weaver looking thing and sorry thing, but it is. And
- 24:38Speaker 4: then one of the evil nabb is attacking her, and
- 24:40Speaker 4: the evil Navi says something about your goddess has no
- 24:45Speaker 4: power here, and I'm I didn't know the Nave prayed
- 24:48Speaker 4: any one of the first fucking.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Blades like this, the trees and ship.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Well, I guess it's like the sacred tree in the middle.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Also, maybe that's what they're refering to nature.
- 24:57Speaker 3: And like a guy you type figure.
- 25:00Speaker 4: True, I guess they did pray to Yeah, you're right,
- 25:02Speaker 4: all right, so all right, I'll take that back out.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they did pray there are people.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Of the earth man people of the land.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I guess he's other than av with they're firing about that.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You saw the niggas was flying around.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Teradac was on the last one, and and and then
- 25:17Speaker 2: then the whole people's who was on the seafaring people
- 25:19Speaker 2: they got to hit you know, all the captain planets points.
- 25:23Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Earth fire, you know, water Bender fire, We did the water.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Bender, we did you know, now it was the fire
- 25:31Speaker 2: Bender's turn. So then we're gonna go back to Earth.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Remember we also know James he has like twenty of
- 25:37Speaker 2: these movies lined up, right, Remember, but.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Now he says he's they've put it down the five.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Oh fuck out of here.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Okay, I think it's probably be five. So we're on
- 25:45Speaker 1: three right now.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Films, that's what they're gonna get. Oh my god. After
- 25:54Speaker 3: it's never gonna stop.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And as long as y'all can making it make money,
- 25:58Speaker 2: it's never gonna stop.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I swear to God.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Like I could not tell the difference other than there
- 26:03Speaker 4: was more fire and ash, I could not tell any difference.
- 26:06Speaker 4: And that white boy with dreads looks more fake now
- 26:08Speaker 4: for some reason. You know, that's like the realest person that.
- 26:13Speaker 1: The young kid.
- 26:14Speaker 4: He looks more fake now as he's grown up. Spider okay,
- 26:18Speaker 4: oh that one. Oh my god, that nigga's name is Spider.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I forgot because like spider Monkey, is that what they're
- 26:24Speaker 4: trying to get at?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Maybe there were? It just feels racist the more and
- 26:28Speaker 1: more I think about it.
- 26:30Speaker 3: How is it he's white?
- 26:32Speaker 4: I don't know, but Tyler the creator said it on
- 26:34Speaker 4: his new albums, I don't fuck with white boys with dreads, and.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I just felt the dreads.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Well, listen, the whole thing was born off of a
- 26:42Speaker 2: problematic idea to begin with.
- 26:43Speaker 4: So I don't understand why the NAVI have dreads when
- 26:47Speaker 4: their hair is like straight as fuck normally, you know,
- 26:50Speaker 4: but then like they some of them just have like
- 26:54Speaker 4: the most kinky dreads.
- 26:55Speaker 2: In the world.
- 26:56Speaker 3: You're asking too many questions.
- 26:57Speaker 1: My brother. I know I'm asking questions that needed to
- 26:59Speaker 1: be yes.
- 27:00Speaker 4: I'm gonna ask you questions about water and black performers,
- 27:03Speaker 4: production team.
- 27:07Speaker 3: None of my business.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I did want to think. Again, Thank you Jason Clark
- 27:14Speaker 2: again for coming on the show with me. Last week
- 27:17Speaker 2: to talk to me about Star Trek and if y'all
- 27:19Speaker 2: miss that, that's actually a really good episode of great conversation.
- 27:22Speaker 1: We had up to.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Yeh, right on, I just smoked big crack. I smoked
- 27:32Speaker 4: the finest crack. Shout out to Jason Clark for admitting,
- 27:35Speaker 4: you know, the crack.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Edition giving Notwithstanding, it was an excellent conversation. Pretty much
- 27:42Speaker 2: me just trying to understand why should I care about
- 27:44Speaker 2: Star Trek again? Right Like, I have pretty much on
- 27:47Speaker 2: the Star Wars side for a few years now and
- 27:50Speaker 2: I have not been checking for Trek at all, And
- 27:54Speaker 2: I was like, what is there for me? So he
- 27:56Speaker 2: actually gave some compelling arguments talk a little bit more
- 27:59Speaker 2: about it.
- 28:00Speaker 3: He mentioned a couple of shows for me to watch.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I actually started watching one of them, Star Trek Lower Debts,
- 28:06Speaker 2: which is the animated and I like it. I think
- 28:09Speaker 2: I watched like maybe six seven episodes straight. It's very
- 28:13Speaker 2: much like Rick and Morty needs Classic Trek so but
- 28:17Speaker 2: the humor is good. There's not too much like like
- 28:22Speaker 2: you know, Freck and Morty could cross the line a
- 28:24Speaker 2: lot of times, Like it's not too much of the
- 28:25Speaker 2: cross of the lines. But it's just like even that
- 28:28Speaker 2: almost that approach to that type of animation, that type
- 28:31Speaker 2: of humor, but mixed with like Trek tropes, you know,
- 28:35Speaker 2: like the original series, next Generation, like all of that
- 28:39Speaker 2: is all mixed in too, like all the jokes and
- 28:43Speaker 2: the callbacks and stuff. So I will say Jason though,
- 28:46Speaker 2: that not to say that you don't have to have
- 28:48Speaker 2: Star Trek, Like you don't have to have Star Technology
- 28:50Speaker 2: to enjoy it, but it does improve the experience significantly
- 28:55Speaker 2: to have it.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Like if you come in there with nothing.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Again, if you just like it animation and want to
- 29:01Speaker 2: try something new, you may fuck with it. But like
- 29:03Speaker 2: there's so many in jokes and other things that I
- 29:06Speaker 2: would still argue that you still need to have. I
- 29:11Speaker 2: would recommend that you come in with something. So I
- 29:15Speaker 2: don't know that can still be I know he was like, oh,
- 29:18Speaker 2: you don't need He's like, you don't need anything. I
- 29:20Speaker 2: don't know, and you can hit me in the comments
- 29:23Speaker 2: if you feel differently, But I don't know.
- 29:24Speaker 3: This is one of the ones.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Where if I put this out in the world, like
- 29:27Speaker 2: as it is now, I put it out to a
- 29:29Speaker 2: random they're not gonna get it.
- 29:31Speaker 1: No.
- 29:31Speaker 4: I think Lower deads from what I understand from what
- 29:34Speaker 4: everything from the Trouble seasons has been on whatever. I've
- 29:37Speaker 4: always known that there's a show where you need star
- 29:40Speaker 4: tread knowledge to get some It's definitely yeah, and.
- 29:45Speaker 2: It's real and again it's still a good show still.
- 29:47Speaker 2: It's actually it's actually clever, it's funny, all this other stuff,
- 29:50Speaker 2: and I see where it's building up, and it has
- 29:53Speaker 2: a lot of seasons already. It's building up and really
- 29:55Speaker 2: giving you more about the characters. However, it's very Trek.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It's very Trek coded. You you can't, you can, but
- 30:05Speaker 2: I don't think you're gonna You're gonna miss half of
- 30:07Speaker 2: the jokes.
- 30:09Speaker 4: So and just a quick retort to Jason into everyone
- 30:14Speaker 4: in the YouTube comments and Instagram and to thank you
- 30:17Speaker 4: about what about agreeing with him about saying that Trek
- 30:21Speaker 4: is the smarter show.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It's oh yeah, that this is this is what Ben
- 30:26Speaker 2: was referring to when he said he was smoking cract.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Like you mentioned, he Jason said that he felt.
- 30:33Speaker 2: No, he said Star Wars was a simpler the universe
- 30:36Speaker 2: compared to Trek.
- 30:37Speaker 4: And it's the same argument that or a similar argument
- 30:41Speaker 4: that Young Giru made on the show years ago. And
- 30:44Speaker 4: it's still an argument that I definitely in some ways
- 30:48Speaker 4: can see where it comes from. But the larger point
- 30:51Speaker 4: about it is, and this was what I finally left
- 30:55Speaker 4: one of the commentars with. They were trying to go
- 30:57Speaker 4: back and forth with me, and I said that Star
- 30:59Speaker 4: Trek is not culturally relevant in any way, shape or
- 31:03Speaker 4: form to even affect even the most minute amount of change.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Well, actually culture irrelevant. Now I'm gonna I'm gonna back
- 31:12Speaker 2: you up for a second.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It's not that was my point now.
- 31:16Speaker 4: And while change is can be made on a smaller
- 31:19Speaker 4: scale and hopefully you know, whatever points they're making on
- 31:23Speaker 4: these shows are reaching their audience and you know, affecting
- 31:26Speaker 4: change on that level, to say that, you know, it's
- 31:28Speaker 4: like this big, you know, massive cultural movement behind Star
- 31:32Speaker 4: Trek just ain't there right now.
- 31:34Speaker 2: I don't know if he said that though he no,
- 31:37Speaker 2: but that's what I'm saying.
- 31:37Speaker 4: No, that's but that was my response to somebody who's like, oh,
- 31:40Speaker 4: but you know, smoothing and I'm like, what it could be.
- 31:43Speaker 1: It's like the smart.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Culture movement behind Smart in the corner, you know, but
- 31:46Speaker 4: that doesn't you know, if you over there streaming in
- 31:49Speaker 4: the woods, how smart it are.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Does anyone hear it?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Like, let's be honest, Trek has no motion right now. No,
- 31:54Speaker 2: and it's trying to and it's random things happening, and
- 31:57Speaker 2: Paramount got all the money in the world and just
- 31:59Speaker 2: keep throwing at them, but it has no motion. It
- 32:02Speaker 2: has no cultural cachet right now. It's not like I said,
- 32:05Speaker 2: I hadn't made a note. Yeah, I made the reference
- 32:08Speaker 2: when I was speaking to Jason just about how Ever,
- 32:12Speaker 2: since like you know, the the Zachary Quinto as you
- 32:17Speaker 2: know Spock Days, you know those those bad what is
- 32:20Speaker 2: it jj Abrams films, like, not since that time has
- 32:24Speaker 2: Trek really been even and I say culturally relevant, I
- 32:27Speaker 2: mean even in the zeitgeist, like in the mainstream, like.
- 32:31Speaker 3: And what year was that? Was that mid two thousands
- 32:34Speaker 3: before that.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Was a different time, boy.
- 32:38Speaker 3: They I mean, okay, mid two damn.
- 32:42Speaker 2: But it's started in two thousand and nine, yeah, and
- 32:45Speaker 2: then went through to like twenty sixteen.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Excuse me, No, it's been a long time.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It's been a while, and I'm just like, give me
- 32:53Speaker 2: something new. So no, and there's good things happen, but
- 32:57Speaker 2: it's just not on the level of what Wars is.
- 33:01Speaker 4: No, And I would just always dispute the idea that
- 33:03Speaker 4: one is simpler than the other, because even like he
- 33:09Speaker 4: was making, you know, in a lot of comments like
- 33:11Speaker 4: well you know and or you know now it's just
- 33:13Speaker 4: smart and I know it's always it's just a different
- 33:16Speaker 4: type of thought. You know, Star Trek well and they
- 33:19Speaker 4: know they both are very philosophical, you know. That's why
- 33:23Speaker 4: I've always been attracted to Star Wars is Empire Stripes
- 33:27Speaker 4: back when it especially in the Empire Stripes, back when
- 33:29Speaker 4: Yoda's introduced. Everything Yoda says to Luke is like very
- 33:34Speaker 4: deep shit that if you apply it to life or
- 33:37Speaker 4: even use it in thought in life, well have you like, yo,
- 33:40Speaker 4: this is a very deep philosophical question, like he says,
- 33:43Speaker 4: you know, we are not proved matter.
- 33:44Speaker 1: You see me as this thing. Luminous beings are weak.
- 33:48Speaker 1: You know.
- 33:49Speaker 4: That's you know, like an idea that we're not this shell,
- 33:52Speaker 4: that we are an energy trapped in this shell, living
- 33:55Speaker 4: experiencing life through that These are thoughts, you know, these
- 33:58Speaker 4: are not you know, just simple things. And so I
- 34:01Speaker 4: just always dispute the idea that it's just about pew
- 34:04Speaker 4: PW lasers forwards and ship it's like, that's what it is.
- 34:06Speaker 4: If you take it like that, it's just like if
- 34:08Speaker 4: you take Star Trek, it's about beating me up, Scottie.
- 34:10Speaker 4: You know, if you take anything at it's simplest thing.
- 34:13Speaker 4: You can reduce things to simple things, but they're often
- 34:17Speaker 4: more complex than that. Sure, and ors are more like,
- 34:20Speaker 4: you know, it's just one of the greatest, if not
- 34:22Speaker 4: the greatest television show for all time.
- 34:24Speaker 1: But Star Wars has always had these ideas.
- 34:28Speaker 4: That's why, and or can it's just a universe yeah,
- 34:31Speaker 4: and then yeah, of course back in the day, Star
- 34:33Speaker 4: Trek you know, always was on top of shit. But
- 34:35Speaker 4: nowadays a nigga, I don't even you know, I couldn't
- 34:38Speaker 4: find it to know if they are on top of shit.
- 34:40Speaker 2: It's just needs to fresh ideas and these fresh ideas,
- 34:44Speaker 2: fresh people, and it needs to innovate again, you know,
- 34:46Speaker 2: like there's that That was my argument.
- 34:49Speaker 3: It was just like there's.
- 34:49Speaker 1: There's a doctor who.
- 34:52Speaker 2: The foundation, but it was just like, there's no there
- 34:54Speaker 2: hasn't been anything that has stoked the imagination.
- 34:57Speaker 3: There's nothing that you know.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Yes, there's still lots of conversation about you know, ethics,
- 35:03Speaker 2: the morality and all that that all that stuff is
- 35:06Speaker 2: still there and you know, dealing with racism and this
- 35:09Speaker 2: isn't that like all of that philosophical shit is still
- 35:11Speaker 2: there and it happens, but it's just like it's not penetrating.
- 35:14Speaker 1: It's yeah, and it's like things like that are happening.
- 35:17Speaker 4: These other things like The Good Place, you know, and
- 35:19Speaker 4: other shows where it's like that are penetrating the consciousness.
- 35:23Speaker 4: So and I have often talked about how that is
- 35:27Speaker 4: one of the most disappointing things in science fiction. And
- 35:31Speaker 4: I even made a video about that on Instagram and everything,
- 35:35Speaker 4: where I was talking about how that's why I really
- 35:36Speaker 4: loved something in Superman and Fantastic for is hope. And
- 35:41Speaker 4: that's one of my favorite things about Star Trek and
- 35:44Speaker 4: something that I always took from Star Wars is the
- 35:47Speaker 4: idea of hope and how necessary it is and how
- 35:50Speaker 4: powerful hope is. And I've been missing that in science fiction,
- 35:54Speaker 4: and so that's why I feel like Star Trek really
- 35:56Speaker 4: needs to get it together and get where they're penetrating
- 35:59Speaker 4: the consciousness and offer a hopeful vision of the future
- 36:02Speaker 4: that is achievable through humans, or at least show us
- 36:07Speaker 4: awaited it couldvenually happened, right, because I feel like that
- 36:10Speaker 4: is not being and that's a detriment to everyone, and
- 36:14Speaker 4: it's just a problem in writing in general, and it's
- 36:17Speaker 4: an easy cop out for a lot of writers these days.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Right, what else? What else been? What other news you have?
- 36:24Speaker 3: This is the news for me?
- 36:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Shout out to bj kicks over at Comics Are Dope,
- 36:30Speaker 4: a very fire as YouTube channel.
- 36:32Speaker 1: If you haven't checked, to go ahead and hit that
- 36:34Speaker 1: like and subscribe on Comics Are Dope.
- 36:37Speaker 4: The brother for a few years now over at Comics
- 36:40Speaker 4: Are Dope has been out there in the world being
- 36:42Speaker 4: a black man or you and comic books, which, as
- 36:44Speaker 4: we know, is a dangerous occupation, and been doing a
- 36:47Speaker 4: really fine job at it. So him and I are
- 36:49Speaker 4: doing a new crossover series, Comments Are Dope meets Comics
- 36:53Speaker 4: I copped, and once a month we are going to
- 36:56Speaker 4: be dropping them reviews on you, you know, distressing our
- 36:59Speaker 4: favorite books a month.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Both of us have.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Our list of books and we'll be distressing and we're
- 37:04Speaker 4: recording this week, so that should be hitting probably first
- 37:07Speaker 4: week or August, and look out for that, you know, the.
- 37:10Speaker 1: First week of every month coming up.
- 37:11Speaker 4: You know, our favorite books of each month, and many
- 37:14Speaker 4: more comics are copped are coming back to Instagram.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I've been back on my reading heavy.
- 37:20Speaker 4: I have this new book, They Chose, They Chose Violence,
- 37:24Speaker 4: that I'm going to talk about with BJ and I
- 37:26Speaker 4: also want to talk about separately because it's a very
- 37:30Speaker 4: interesting book for people who have read it or heard
- 37:32Speaker 4: about it. It's doing a lot of ways right now.
- 37:35Speaker 4: It's a book about these black women who choose violence
- 37:39Speaker 4: basically and decide to start going around killing white people
- 37:43Speaker 4: who they feel, you know, need justice done to them.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I do too, to a point, you know.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Go South or something.
- 37:55Speaker 4: I'll tough with the premise, and you know, it's a
- 38:00Speaker 4: limited series and we're about halfway through, so I'm waiting
- 38:03Speaker 4: to see how they go, you know, but yeah, I
- 38:06Speaker 4: have some issues with it so far. I would love
- 38:09Speaker 4: to have some of the creators on here to talk
- 38:10Speaker 4: to them. It's from my actual Alonso friend of the show,
- 38:14Speaker 4: his new company that he's been working with for the
- 38:17Speaker 4: last few years so and they're definitely the type of
- 38:20Speaker 4: company who are pushing things to you know, television film,
- 38:24Speaker 4: so you might see it. They Chose, I don't notice.
- 38:27Speaker 4: It's a tough one. Yeah, when I say they chose von.
- 38:30Speaker 4: They choose it, boy, I mean like they choose it.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Like yeah, like I said, I just have some questions,
- 38:40Speaker 4: I'll say, you know, like, I just have some questions
- 38:42Speaker 4: that I really want to talk to the creators about.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Oh, I want to see where they go. But you
- 38:47Speaker 1: know I'm going to distress.
- 38:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I wanted to distress this with BJ and we'll
- 38:50Speaker 4: talk more about it. And definitely I'm asking some videos
- 38:52Speaker 4: on ticket and Instagram very soon about it, so look
- 38:56Speaker 4: out for that.
- 38:57Speaker 3: That's fair good.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Before I forget, I wanted to get a quick birthday
- 39:01Speaker 2: shout outs recent birthdays to Gotham geek girl, you love you,
- 39:07Speaker 2: always support you, and also happy birthday to Ato Assando
- 39:12Speaker 2: Oh yep, yep. Technically as we're recording today is his birthday,
- 39:16Speaker 2: so oh no, a longtime friend of the show as well.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 39:20Speaker 4: You know, we can't get out of here without talking
- 39:22Speaker 4: about you know something else, you know, a little show
- 39:24Speaker 4: that's dropping us week this Friday on Disney Plus all
- 39:28Speaker 4: four episodes August first, right, All four episodes of the
- 39:33Speaker 4: new animated series Eyes of Akanda is dropping this Friday.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Tatanna and I have gotten see all four episodes already.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, mm hmm.
- 39:45Speaker 4: You know, no spoilers, We're not gonna say anything, you
- 39:48Speaker 4: know about anything really, but some general thoughts.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I watched it.
- 39:53Speaker 4: I've seen all four episodes now, uh, not the last one,
- 39:58Speaker 4: but the first three I watched. You know, the first
- 40:01Speaker 4: time I watched, I just pretty much stemmed through. I
- 40:03Speaker 4: was like, okay, animation, pool, you know, great action, all
- 40:05Speaker 4: that type of stuff. I saw, you know, caught some
- 40:07Speaker 4: of the connections the episode, but I wasn't really you know,
- 40:10Speaker 4: fully deep diving. And my second watch, I really deep dive,
- 40:13Speaker 4: paid attention, really thoroughly enjoyed it. Mad that it's only
- 40:19Speaker 4: four episodes, Mad did because this is basically a history lesson.
- 40:27Speaker 4: These four episodes are basically history lesson of Wakonda as
- 40:31Speaker 4: the series you know they've talked about since its inception.
- 40:34Speaker 4: This is about we're seeing the agents, the war dogs
- 40:37Speaker 4: of Wakanda at different times in history and how they
- 40:41Speaker 4: operated as they were being the odds of Wakanda, the
- 40:44Speaker 4: agents of Wakanda out in the world. So you're seeing
- 40:47Speaker 4: different historical moments through a Wakandan perspective.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Basically. Yeah, and one of my big takeaways is like, Yo,
- 40:54Speaker 1: these niggas.
- 40:55Speaker 4: I mean, we we've said it since Black Panther, but yo,
- 40:57Speaker 4: y'all niggas really endure slavery really.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Like it could have reread.
- 41:06Speaker 3: All of us.
- 41:07Speaker 4: I mean like this was like it was like the
- 41:09Speaker 4: realization that y'all have had this text since you know,
- 41:13Speaker 4: I get it.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I'm a memorial, Yes, say I also, yes, really enjoyed
- 41:20Speaker 2: the show when I watched this instead Wait a minute,
- 41:23Speaker 2: because this was news to me what Kan has been around.
- 41:26Speaker 1: For They've been around, but I don't know you always
- 41:30Speaker 1: had this around.
- 41:33Speaker 2: It's when they say, oh no, they've been ancient similization.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Yes, y'all think this is over here text and flying ship.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Right and and it's.
- 41:43Speaker 2: So and what like even until you like you paid
- 41:47Speaker 2: like maybe the second episode, the second or third episode,
- 41:50Speaker 2: you don't realize you realize the timing on like the
- 41:55Speaker 2: type of time they on because you're like, wait a minute,
- 41:58Speaker 2: And it's hard because what ConA is so advance, right,
- 42:01Speaker 2: like everything is the fucking future.
- 42:02Speaker 3: But then it's like similar Star Trek.
- 42:05Speaker 2: It's like we're in the future, but it's the past, right,
- 42:07Speaker 2: This is the old future tech, right, you're watching old
- 42:10Speaker 2: future tech but the ship is so advanced you don't
- 42:12Speaker 2: know what year or what.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Times line they're in.
- 42:16Speaker 2: And then when you do realize that, sometimes it's right
- 42:18Speaker 2: there on the screen, and when you do, you're like, these.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Niggs was there.
- 42:23Speaker 2: That's every time every episode, I just kept screaming, these
- 42:26Speaker 2: niggas was there?
- 42:28Speaker 3: And to your point, where the fuck was.
- 42:31Speaker 2: You on the Transatlantic slave trade? And again, I don't
- 42:36Speaker 2: even know that would ever be touched on.
- 42:38Speaker 3: I don't even know they have it touched on.
- 42:40Speaker 1: The whole series is definitely about what Kanda's isolaated.
- 42:43Speaker 2: It's about what Condat saying. But I'm talking about you
- 42:45Speaker 2: that which you said specifically? Did you You said a very.
- 42:48Speaker 4: Specifically, But that's how that's how it's touched on, Nigga.
- 42:54Speaker 4: We didn't do ship for nobody.
- 42:56Speaker 2: You know, but they've been saying that. They've been saying
- 42:58Speaker 2: that since the beginning. That's how it is. You know, sorry,
- 43:02Speaker 2: you know, like we didn't, you know, we ignored.
- 43:04Speaker 3: It all, bro, No listen, I I thoroughly.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I did also thoroughly enjoyed the series again, love the animation.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I love the song yo.
- 43:15Speaker 2: I don't know if you read through the castles, but
- 43:17Speaker 2: the castlest is a one.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Oh no, I didn't see that, but I could hear it.
- 43:21Speaker 2: A one voice acting, and it's mostly black people. You
- 43:25Speaker 2: get Chris Williams, you know, black Lighting, Anica Noni Rose,
- 43:29Speaker 2: Gary Anthony Williams.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Gary Wis is a god of voice acting.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Who played the Lion.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Chris Williams.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Who's pres Williams Black Lightning from the CW Remember.
- 43:43Speaker 4: Yeah, the actual he's the actual black Lightning.
- 43:48Speaker 2: No, the guy who played Black Night is Chris Williams.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Name is Chris Williams, and he's yeah, okay, played the
- 43:55Speaker 4: actual black Lightning.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Yeah, incredible voice.
- 43:58Speaker 3: Yeah, same guys.
- 43:58Speaker 1: What I was trying to get killed?
- 44:00Speaker 2: Fielding Patricia Belcher, Lynn Whitfield, Steve Tson, when I don't
- 44:07Speaker 2: know Whinnie Herlow is there for some reason.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Winnie Harlow Like, uh.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Oh, deny, she has a credit, you.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Know what I'm saying, Like and and and hosts of.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Other people like really major, like they did they big one,
- 44:23Speaker 2: Isaac Robinson Smith. They did their big one with the
- 44:26Speaker 2: cast right the the pasting, the storylines are dope, like
- 44:33Speaker 2: there's there's nuance in there, and then like it all
- 44:37Speaker 2: makes sure it ties into the greater MCU story by
- 44:41Speaker 2: the end, like it brings you back to where you
- 44:45Speaker 2: need to be and it's just like, oh, so Ben,
- 44:47Speaker 2: I mean saying it really is a history lesson of
- 44:49Speaker 2: Wakanda and where they've been, what they've been doing, who
- 44:52Speaker 2: these war dogs are, gives you more context. And I
- 44:55Speaker 2: that's what I've loved and enjoy the most about these
- 44:58Speaker 2: Black Panthers centers, either animations or TV shows. Was that
- 45:02Speaker 2: giving more backstory, because I feel like there's so much
- 45:04Speaker 2: backstory with other MCU properties, but I'm just like, more
- 45:08Speaker 2: about Wakanda, more about all of the different players of Wakanda,
- 45:13Speaker 2: and I like, like you said, more about why Wakanda
- 45:16Speaker 2: don't fuck with no body and you know, how do
- 45:18Speaker 2: they get to where they are now?
- 45:20Speaker 4: So yeah, especially, I really loved all the show to
- 45:24Speaker 4: all four episodes. The second episode especially is really.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Dope to me.
- 45:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it ties into actual well not mythological history.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I guess I.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Thought, I don't. I was trying to figure out what
- 45:40Speaker 3: was the mythological or real.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of that stuff isn't might might have happened,
- 45:45Speaker 4: might not have happened, basically, So that's how I'll say it.
- 45:48Speaker 4: You know, it deals with Roman history, and a lot
- 45:50Speaker 4: of that stuff is like maybe maybe.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Not like maybe even not you're right, or maybe it
- 45:54Speaker 1: didn't happen exactly.
- 45:56Speaker 2: It's a legendary story, so like it may have existed,
- 45:59Speaker 2: this might have happened, but it became you know.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Even more fantastical and the retailing.
- 46:04Speaker 4: But they and they flipped and flip you for real
- 46:08Speaker 4: that story and I really liked how they did that
- 46:11Speaker 4: and tied it into the history when you look up
- 46:13Speaker 4: the Middle logical history.
- 46:14Speaker 1: But oh, that's a very dope flip. So that was
- 46:17Speaker 1: a very dope episode.
- 46:19Speaker 4: The third episode, I really liked how it ties in
- 46:21Speaker 4: the Marvel history, you know, outside of Wakanda.
- 46:24Speaker 1: That was very fire.
- 46:26Speaker 4: And in the fourth all the episodes there's a crew
- 46:28Speaker 4: line through them, and how it all goes down to
- 46:31Speaker 4: the fourth episode was really dope. It's like in these
- 46:35Speaker 4: even though it's only four and I know there's be
- 46:37Speaker 4: some complaints about that they packed so much into.
- 46:41Speaker 2: These four episodes, which is still a complaint to me
- 46:43Speaker 2: because I'm like, for them to be able to pack
- 46:45Speaker 2: so much, why not be given more?
- 46:48Speaker 3: Kisses me off like it.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Does four episodes, Like, yeah, it's a great complete package.
- 46:54Speaker 2: I will say that, however, common is like, well, shit,
- 46:57Speaker 2: is this a test? Yeah, it's so, oh are we
- 47:00Speaker 2: gonna get more? Because like they coulda went the route
- 47:03Speaker 2: of what's it if with this in terms of number
- 47:06Speaker 2: of episodes, and like for them to do what they
- 47:08Speaker 2: did with a little bit they had, y'all could have
- 47:11Speaker 2: gave them six mos.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Like yeah, and at thirty minutes, like like you you
- 47:17Speaker 3: couldn't you? I don't know, just say.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Consumed, but you really like go through these fairly fast
- 47:21Speaker 2: because you're you're learning, Like I think that's what stands
- 47:24Speaker 2: makes us a standout, Like, yes, it's entertainment, but you're
- 47:27Speaker 2: literally learning. Look these characters in the history of you know, yes,
- 47:33Speaker 2: a fictional place of fictional people, but that matters in
- 47:37Speaker 2: the greater storytelling of you know, one giant superhero apparatus, right,
- 47:42Speaker 2: Like it's learning, it's deep learning. And and for them
- 47:46Speaker 2: to tie it to like historical or semi historical you know, events,
- 47:52Speaker 2: is makes it even larger in terms of, like you
- 47:55Speaker 2: understand because now like they're incorporating things that you probably
- 47:58Speaker 2: if you're American anyway, you probably learned in school.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yep. So like World Ride, I think how many.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Stuff is worldwide? Yeah, definitely, but but.
- 48:08Speaker 4: I was assuming Italy all that Roman ship, like, you know,
- 48:11Speaker 4: that must be big dollship for them here, you know
- 48:14Speaker 4: they must you know, all.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Three year all of it.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Stories is absolutely fantastic. So Mad as Hell is only
- 48:24Speaker 2: four episodes. I appreciate that they pushed it up because
- 48:27Speaker 2: it was supposed to come out later, and they pushed
- 48:28Speaker 2: it out to August first, this Friday, but you know,
- 48:31Speaker 2: I want more, so I'm hoping again we have to
- 48:34Speaker 2: we have to do what we gotta do. We gotta
- 48:36Speaker 2: put our all into this. We have to really watch this,
- 48:39Speaker 2: really make a big deal about this, and hopefully that
- 48:43Speaker 2: will spur more more I guess energy on this and
- 48:48Speaker 2: more like effort on bringing this. You know, maybe we
- 48:51Speaker 2: could get an Eyes of Wakonda extended season. I don't
- 48:54Speaker 2: even know if this is considered the season like something.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm really wondering, you know.
- 49:00Speaker 4: And again, like after iron Hart and then to see
- 49:04Speaker 4: the incredible reaction to iron Heart, I know this.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Is going to get that same thing.
- 49:08Speaker 4: But I know that should be the number one thing,
- 49:10Speaker 4: you know, where's more and for it to be an
- 49:12Speaker 4: animation where it's would take time.
- 49:14Speaker 3: But I would hope it's not get that same level.
- 49:16Speaker 2: And besides the fact that it's the center around black
- 49:19Speaker 2: people because it's Wakanda, so the fanboys get a pass like, oh,
- 49:23Speaker 2: that's where the black people live, so that's okay for
- 49:25Speaker 2: the black people to show up.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Oh you mean, like as far as you're getting hate, yes, no, No,
- 49:29Speaker 4: Negro niggas don't Tupac niggas don't hate you for whatever you.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Do, it don't matter. But not for the same reasons, not.
- 49:36Speaker 4: For the same reason. But them crackers don't hate, you know,
- 49:38Speaker 4: for all the same reasons. Racists will find a way
- 49:40Speaker 4: to be racist.
- 49:42Speaker 1: You know. It's like there's no way to get around that.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Like shout out to Genesia and the comments who said,
- 49:50Speaker 4: don't ever let that check off white man to turn
- 49:53Speaker 4: you from doing.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Life. They said, we failed.
- 49:59Speaker 2: That's And also for the episodes, I did want to
- 50:02Speaker 2: mention the shout out Todd Harris who directed the episodes,
- 50:05Speaker 2: and then one of the writers or potentially the writer,
- 50:08Speaker 2: Jeffrey Thorn.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Jeffrey is a black man.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's a homie. Yeah.
- 50:13Speaker 4: And also Mark Bernardy is also one of the mark
- 50:17Speaker 4: yep shout out to him. And you know, of course
- 50:19Speaker 4: the Coodlers, you know our producers and and you can
- 50:23Speaker 4: feel their stamp on it because it's pat just like
- 50:26Speaker 4: you know, Centers and everything else they do.
- 50:27Speaker 1: It's like and.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Jeff Jeffrey Thorn, like he's done Ben Ten, like all
- 50:32Speaker 2: of the Ben Ten's Ultimate Spider Man, Justice League, Avengers Assemble,
- 50:37Speaker 2: like Power, Power Book two Ghosts. He did an episode
- 50:41Speaker 2: they fire.
- 50:44Speaker 1: That's my show.
- 50:45Speaker 2: The whole point is this man is well versed and
- 50:47Speaker 2: he knows how to how to pack a bunch into
- 50:49Speaker 2: these episodes.
- 50:50Speaker 3: So you know, kudos.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Look, anyone who worked on Power, I commit. I know
- 50:53Speaker 4: they know how to tell a good story. They know
- 50:56Speaker 4: how to take that ship to the utmost ridiculousness.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I just need Yeah, that's my only complaint about
- 51:01Speaker 2: Isaaca Connor.
- 51:02Speaker 3: I want more. I just want more.
- 51:03Speaker 2: And that's not even the fall of the people put
- 51:05Speaker 2: it together. But but what I did get it was
- 51:08Speaker 2: it was fantastic. So I definitely recommend it.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Hell yeah, I think people can eat it up.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Like you know, we'll see a lot of reaction and
- 51:14Speaker 4: we'll doesnitely have more to talk about it, you know,
- 51:16Speaker 4: probably do an all star review. Because I would love
- 51:18Speaker 4: to distress it with yeah, blurds and things of that
- 51:22Speaker 4: nature real quick.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I also wanted to give a shout out.
- 51:25Speaker 4: I've not gotten past the first episode, but I'm definitely
- 51:27Speaker 4: gonna get back into it.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Washington Black on Hulu right now.
- 51:32Speaker 2: That's the pirate. Pirate Is that the guy he's on
- 51:35Speaker 2: the ship and around yep.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and he were saying that it really gets into
- 51:41Speaker 4: like the history of London and the history of black
- 51:43Speaker 4: people in London. That's I really want to check it
- 51:45Speaker 4: and shout out to my brother Selwyn, say food hens,
- 51:48Speaker 4: who's in that?
- 51:49Speaker 3: That's not who's in that? Who plays the main guy?
- 51:53Speaker 1: Ernest Kingsley Junior as George Washington Washed.
- 51:57Speaker 2: The Little okay, the young one Yeah yeah, and Rupert
- 52:00Speaker 2: Graves as mister Golf.
- 52:04Speaker 4: I know, but they say Ernest is like going to
- 52:06Speaker 4: be a star, you know from this and whatever else
- 52:10Speaker 4: he's doing.
- 52:10Speaker 1: So okrect yeap oh. Sterling k Brown is also.
- 52:13Speaker 3: That's all trying to say s paradise yea.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Yeah. So Sterling's in it, and that's Selwyn.
- 52:24Speaker 4: I think he's the showrunner, executive producer.
- 52:26Speaker 1: This is his joint. So shout out with my brother
- 52:29Speaker 1: over there.
- 52:29Speaker 4: So I definitely want to get back into it people
- 52:31Speaker 4: who really enjoying it. And let me let me know
- 52:33Speaker 4: out there if you are watching this and you know,
- 52:35Speaker 4: enjoying it and all that good stuff, that's what's up.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Before we go out of here. We do want to listen.
- 52:41Speaker 2: We always ask you guys to if we want to
- 52:43Speaker 2: know what you have going on, if there's some projects

- 52:53Speaker 3: If you have questions for us, if about anything.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Could be about fandom, could be about you want some advice,
- 52:59Speaker 2: whatever it is, could be just about life in general,
- 53:01Speaker 2: like we want to know, so make sure you hit
- 53:03Speaker 2: us up. You can hit us up contact at four
- 53:06Speaker 2: O nerds dot com. You want to have some privacy
- 53:08Speaker 2: doing in the emails or you can do it right,
- 53:10Speaker 2: you can d m us, you can write it, write
- 53:12Speaker 2: in the comments. But we want your questions, like we
- 53:15Speaker 2: want you guys to reach out ask us whatever it is.
- 53:17Speaker 4: And that's how you know Jason Clark appeared on our show.
- 53:20Speaker 4: They reached out to us and we're like, you know,
- 53:22Speaker 4: let's see what this man has to talk about.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Yep.
- 53:24Speaker 4: So if you're one of those people, if you're doing
- 53:26Speaker 4: anything interesting or you know, you're out of project. You know,
- 53:29Speaker 4: you have your little YouTube channel with you know, five followers,
- 53:33Speaker 4: but you know you talk.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just.
- 53:35Speaker 4: Saying, you know, you're growing, coming up. You know, we're
- 53:38Speaker 4: a little YouTube channel ship. We're just growing and coming up.
- 53:40Speaker 4: But if you have you know, something where you want
- 53:43Speaker 4: to you know, promote or talk about it. You know,
- 53:44Speaker 4: if you're putting in that work, like you know, shout
- 53:47Speaker 4: out to my man, comics are dope. You know, we're
- 53:48Speaker 4: collabing with them. You know, we would love to do
- 53:51Speaker 4: more of this type of thing. So if you're out
- 53:53Speaker 4: there in this space, you know, or doing anything in
- 53:55Speaker 4: the space that Jason hit us up, talk to us.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Let us know what you're doing, and well, you know,
- 53:59Speaker 1: see we can work together.
- 54:01Speaker 2: And with that, we do have a question that we
- 54:04Speaker 2: never got to answer that we do want to answer now,
- 54:07Speaker 2: all right. The question is actually from the Rizarden listener
- 54:16Speaker 2: known as riz Riz and I don't think we ever
- 54:20Speaker 2: answered this, but I don't think so we're gonna we're
- 54:22Speaker 2: gonna do remember this. The question goes, what fictional group
- 54:26Speaker 2: would you join? If they were real.
- 54:28Speaker 1: That's a great question, riz I got.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I always growing up, I always wanted to join Team Rocket.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I've always from Pokemon. That's Jesse and James, and I've
- 54:40Speaker 2: always wanted to be a member of Team Rocket. I
- 54:43Speaker 2: swear to God, like that could have been my profession
- 54:46Speaker 2: if it was available.
- 54:48Speaker 4: I got one from growing up, and it ain't fictional.
- 54:51Speaker 4: But I wanted to be a member of Digital on
- 54:53Speaker 4: the Ground, the music group I just wanted to.
- 54:55Speaker 3: Be fiction not fictional though fictional group.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I mean, I know that I'm saying this is not
- 55:01Speaker 1: a fiction group.
- 55:02Speaker 4: They're a real life group, but I you know that
- 55:04Speaker 4: is a group I defperately wanted to be a member.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I just wanted to be a background member, did you
- 55:09Speaker 1: on the ground?
- 55:11Speaker 2: The groups I always want to join are like the
- 55:13Speaker 2: villain groups. Like I said, I mentioned Team Rocket from Pokemon.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I didn't know they were the villains them.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Technically they're they're they're they're the villains. But you know
- 55:22Speaker 2: how they do good here and there, but mm hmm,
- 55:26Speaker 2: because they have more fun than their's hilarious and they.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Dripped the draft go so hard.
- 55:32Speaker 2: It's just like, ah, no, I gotta I gotta be
- 55:34Speaker 2: on that side of things, you know.
- 55:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Cobra, I definitely wanted to even No, I like
- 55:39Speaker 4: Joe to go gaddo. Both of them had you like
- 55:41Speaker 4: them over over. I like the Ninjas, I like I
- 55:45Speaker 4: was in Ninja fans, so like I like Snake Eyes
- 55:48Speaker 4: and storm Shadow, So I would hang out with either
- 55:50Speaker 4: of them.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I didn't give a ship what side they were on.
- 55:53Speaker 1: You know.
- 55:53Speaker 4: That was my that was my Joe fans. But both
- 55:56Speaker 4: of them had dripped like they both had fly outfits,
- 55:59Speaker 4: you know. So and Cobra like their color streamer just
- 56:02Speaker 4: blue is kind of.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Boring to me.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Depending on which version I would join the Scepticons and
- 56:11Speaker 2: only And my thing is like lately they've really been
- 56:13Speaker 2: given Optimist like his respect about like how powerful this
- 56:17Speaker 2: nigga is and how like this this nigga's a big
- 56:19Speaker 2: crash out too, So it's just.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Like, yeah, see I could crash out Optimist though, see
- 56:24Speaker 1: I like you missed that.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Until like recently, and like like mercy, I'll get mercy.
- 56:31Speaker 1: No, no optimist.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Now it's busting niggas and short that's what it was
- 56:35Speaker 3: in the past.
- 56:36Speaker 4: But I wasn't getting that, I know because I told
- 56:38Speaker 4: you like the movie when that nigga drives over there
- 56:40Speaker 4: in sept the CON's head like like literally like this
- 56:43Speaker 4: nigga is set, the kind is trying to crawl back
- 56:46Speaker 4: up on this bridge and this niggas like going into
- 56:49Speaker 4: the and you know he's in the way, and this
- 56:51Speaker 4: nigga crushes that nigga's head flat and does not even blink.
- 56:57Speaker 4: You know, we were Yeah, optimist in the movie was different.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I'm sure we were talking.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I was just as I was reading this, like I
- 57:07Speaker 2: had just randomly said the flax smashers, like from fucking
- 57:11Speaker 2: what was it.
- 57:14Speaker 3: The winter Soldier.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Jesus served served hard?
- 57:18Speaker 4: Yeah, like off Like that's I was telling Ton, that's
- 57:24Speaker 4: like my top five hilarious. You know, catch getting dunned
- 57:28Speaker 4: off in film top five gotta be. I think blowing
- 57:33Speaker 4: up in that van was, Oh my god, I fucking
- 57:37Speaker 4: just cry laughing thinking about it.
- 57:39Speaker 3: I think it would be fire to be a member
- 57:41Speaker 3: of the Dori in Milita.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Oh there you go, damn.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Especially after off watching off the heels of the Eyes
- 57:46Speaker 2: of Wakanda.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd be down, reaffirmed again, since I can't be
- 57:50Speaker 1: one of them, I'd be down to be one of
- 57:51Speaker 1: the war Dogs.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Yep, like that, but the door is bad.
- 57:57Speaker 1: You know the war Dogs.
- 57:58Speaker 4: You know, I can't I can never pronounce how said
- 58:03Speaker 4: in Wanda, But the.
- 58:04Speaker 1: War doll a fire.
- 58:06Speaker 3: I would be a planeteer.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Okay, another great one.
- 58:10Speaker 2: And you know they're doing allegedly they're about to do
- 58:13Speaker 2: a new Captain Planet, like a yeah, action or animated,
- 58:18Speaker 2: but a movie or something like that.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, why and I mean, right now.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Is action because like as soon as they mentioned that,
- 58:25Speaker 2: people started immediately joking about Man's that that did the
- 58:30Speaker 2: vulgar Captain planet.
- 58:31Speaker 4: Oh oh my god, that she was so that ship
- 58:37Speaker 4: was hilarious.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Know, the Planeteers is a good one. I really like
- 58:41Speaker 1: that one.
- 58:41Speaker 4: And you damn I had another one after you said that,
- 58:43Speaker 4: and then I forgot it.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Oh super Friends okay.
- 58:48Speaker 4: Yeah, you know the original because I don't need to
- 58:50Speaker 4: like Justice League Unlimited drama.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I just need, you know, super Friends. But it was
- 58:54Speaker 1: just relaxing.
- 58:57Speaker 2: I'm sure there's an anime I would want to join, like, well,
- 59:00Speaker 2: all of a kind of dangerous to I don't even know,
- 59:04Speaker 2: like the once I like the most are the most
- 59:06Speaker 2: dangerous worlds, like j J K.
- 59:08Speaker 3: And like that like sol level something.
- 59:12Speaker 4: D F is the the name of the Robotech Defense
- 59:16Speaker 4: Force and no, I might be.
- 59:19Speaker 3: A Gunna pilot And I was like, no, I don't
- 59:22Speaker 3: want to be a pilot.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Actually, growing up, I wanted to be a Veritech pilot.
- 59:27Speaker 4: But them niggas die constantly in robotep No, uh huh.
- 59:32Speaker 2: No, I used to want to be a sailor scout.
- 59:34Speaker 2: I think a lot of people from sailing moon stuff.
- 59:39Speaker 3: It's like, never used to want to be a power Ranger.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Nothing you want to be I.
- 59:43Speaker 4: Mean no, not really, you know. I mean I was
- 59:46Speaker 4: you know, I was there for when power Rangers came out. Now,
- 59:50Speaker 4: I mean, I guess they always win, you know. It's
- 59:53Speaker 4: like being part of Fultron, you know guns. Yeah, and
- 59:57Speaker 4: it's like I would I'd be down for Fultron or
- 59:59Speaker 4: a power Ranger, but they always come up on top,
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: you know what I mean. So that's cool, Like like
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: the ship I grew up on. This depressing like X Men. No,
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: it's just strust.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: You don't want to be X Men.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: No, not for the most part, because like you want
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: to be on Magneto's No, I.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Don't want to be a mutant.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: You know in general, like this ship is like it's
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: too unpredictable, like you know, like you can have storm,
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: which is cool, but you know then like the weather
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: also reacts to your emotions, which is you know, that's
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: that's a lot like cyclops you know, terrible you know
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: Magneto there you go, that's you know, there's there's a
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: few terrible yeah, terrible power like the worst Like no,
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: I would never want that Magneto is someone out here
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: because that's like, you know, that's power and it works
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: on a lot of levels. So but no, most of men, No,
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: I do not want to read people's minds now.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Is a terrible power.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Terrible, I mean, it's worthless right now, Like and am I.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Saying what we say terrible We don't mean in terms
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: of power or anything like that. We means in terms
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: of like having it as a real life power.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: You know, that's just a yeah, like we're that's just
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: ass ass And then it's worthless right now because all
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: you can do is knock out the people out and
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: studd memories that you don't even get powers from people
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: cause nobody got into the powers. You don'tly want, you know,
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: it's like no, right now, that's ass. But I guess
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: if you joined the group. Yeah, well yeah, no, No,
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: I'm not trading fucking for being powerful. No, I don't
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: care how powerful rogue is. Now I woulout want to
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: join the h min's rogue if I had to trade
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: for power, I could.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: That are ending right there, like that's hilarious yo.
