- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's more marks amone on sevent ten. Woor oh, hey,
- 0:06Speaker 1: it's Friday. That's the good news. It's gonna be a
- 0:08Speaker 1: beautiful day. It's gonna rain all day tomorrow and be
- 0:10Speaker 1: okay on Sunday. So for all of our lives, we've
- 0:16Speaker 1: been terrified of a war with the Soviet Union or Russia.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You know, you'd see that they would do those parades
- 0:26Speaker 1: in Moscow with the with the military, these gleaming white
- 0:30Speaker 1: tanks and these soldiers, the way they would march with
- 0:32Speaker 1: their you know, like rockets. They're kicking their feet up
- 0:35Speaker 1: in the air. The incredible Russian army, superpower, Russia, their army, boy,
- 0:41Speaker 1: you could never tangle them. War with Russia be unthinkable.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Then we see them in the Ukraine. They're not very
- 0:48Speaker 1: good at all. They're not much of an army at all.
- 0:50Speaker 1: In fact, little ragtag Ukraine Army is able to fend
- 0:54Speaker 1: them off for five years without blinking. This Russian army
- 0:58Speaker 1: is a disaster. Their weapons stay, they don't even have
- 1:00Speaker 1: night vision. Their troops stink. They don't even know how
- 1:04Speaker 1: to fight in formation. They don't even have commanders on
- 1:07Speaker 1: the field, and most of the troops are just you know, draftees,
- 1:12Speaker 1: just drunken twenty two year olds. They're a disaster there
- 1:16Speaker 1: army and then for a long time whenever you know,
- 1:20Speaker 1: all these decades now, Iran has been the biggest troublemaker
- 1:25Speaker 1: in the Middle East. They're the ones that financed Hamas
- 1:28Speaker 1: and Hezbollah and the hooties. They're the terrorists launching all
- 1:32Speaker 1: this terrorist crap all over the Middle East, all over
- 1:35Speaker 1: the world. They're the most feared thing in the Middle
- 1:37Speaker 1: East Iran. And it was thought for many, many years, well,
- 1:42Speaker 1: I can't you can't go to war with Iran. I
- 1:44Speaker 1: mean you can you know, you can fight Sadam Hussein maybe,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but not you know, Iran. You can't. Thank oh, if
- 1:49Speaker 1: Iran ever got into it, well, we actually went to
- 1:55Speaker 1: war with Iran. Turns out they don't have much of anything.
- 1:58Speaker 1: In fact, the first day we wiped out their whole
- 2:01Speaker 1: leadership with one shot, all forty one leaders We took
- 2:05Speaker 1: out everything they have. We completely took out their air
- 2:08Speaker 1: force in two seconds. We took out their navy in
- 2:11Speaker 1: five seconds. We took out all their offensive capability. I mean,
- 2:15Speaker 1: they really have nothing. It was nothing to take out
- 2:17Speaker 1: I ran. It took a second Now they still don't
- 2:20Speaker 1: give in, even though you've completely eliminated their entire military.
- 2:24Speaker 2: They go to.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Asymmetrical warfare, little terrorist warfare. They got a stockpile of
- 2:30Speaker 1: drones left, and they got a few missiles left, but
- 2:33Speaker 1: that's nothing for us to handle. So it was nothing.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It was absolutely nothing. Now they won't give up again.
- 2:40Speaker 1: It's like Vietnam. They had much of an army. It's
- 2:42Speaker 1: a little bunch of ragtag people that you know, fight
- 2:46Speaker 1: in the jungle in the middle of the night, but
- 2:48Speaker 1: they never give up. They don't give up. That's the
- 2:51Speaker 1: problem with the I Ran. But we'll take care of it.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We've shut down their economy completely. They have absolutely no income,
- 2:59Speaker 1: so it's just a matter before they're completely out of money.
- 3:02Speaker 1: People are starving and it'll just go crazy.
- 3:04Speaker 2: So but.
- 3:07Speaker 1: If you're the fake news, if you're these Trump hating reporters,
- 3:10Speaker 1: they just hate Trump so much that they try to
- 3:14Speaker 1: convince you everything is wrong. He went in with no
- 3:17Speaker 1: plan at all. There was no plan, and it's the
- 3:19Speaker 1: single most planned war in the history of the world.
- 3:22Speaker 1: This Iran battle plan has been worked on by the
- 3:26Speaker 1: Pentagon for over forty years. They've been tweaking it and
- 3:29Speaker 1: retweaking it. That's why in the first day we took
- 3:31Speaker 1: out everything. Basically, it was the most planned war in history.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's dragging on forever, and it's going to be the
- 3:39Speaker 1: shortest war in the history of the world. This will
- 3:41Speaker 1: be a two three month war. That'll be it. There's
- 3:44Speaker 1: nothing to worry about. But if you're the fake news,
- 3:46Speaker 1: you got to attack the president. I got to make
- 3:48Speaker 1: it look like this is the worst situation ever. So
- 3:52Speaker 1: this one reporter, yes, they're going through, how well everything
- 3:55Speaker 1: is going. So this one reporter, just trying to cause
- 3:58Speaker 1: trouble for Trump, asks him, are you going to use
- 4:02Speaker 1: nuclear weapons in Iran? Will you use the nuclear button?
- 4:05Speaker 1: It's the dumbest question I've ever heard. It is the
- 4:07Speaker 1: stupidest question ever, and it's insane to even ask the question.
- 4:12Speaker 1: So if it were Reagan, he'd be very folksy and
- 4:15Speaker 1: he'd say, where, I don't think if we're Bill Clinton,
- 4:19Speaker 1: these are professional politicians, he would say, well, well, I
- 4:23Speaker 1: don't think we won't have to. But it's President Trump,
- 4:28Speaker 1: who's basically more Don Rickles than he is professional politician.
- 4:33Speaker 1: So this reporter asked this ridiculous question, are you going
- 4:36Speaker 1: to use the nuclear bomb. Trump responds, why would a
- 4:39Speaker 1: stupid question like that be asked?
- 4:40Speaker 3: Do you know why would why would I use a
- 4:42Speaker 3: nuclear weapon? We've totally, in a very conventional way, decimated
- 4:47Speaker 3: them without it.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Now I wouldn't use it.
- 4:50Speaker 4: A nuclear weapon sho'd never be allowed to be used
- 4:52Speaker 4: by anybody.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah. See, if you're a professional politician, you go, well, don't.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Then when you get backstage or the door is closed,
- 4:59Speaker 1: you go, what a stupid question? Why the hell they
- 5:01Speaker 1: ask it? But if you're President Trump, you're real, You
- 5:04Speaker 1: say what you really think? You don't wait till you
- 5:06Speaker 1: get off camera, right in front of everybody.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Why would a stupid question like that be asked? Do
- 5:10Speaker 3: you know why would why would I use a nubrew?
- 5:12Speaker 1: Weather And he's right, just make him feel bad. What
- 5:15Speaker 1: a stupid question to use, Absolutely ridiculous. So they don't
- 5:20Speaker 1: know what to do, they don't know how to attack them.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Oil prices, well, look what you've done to oil? Why
- 5:25Speaker 1: this is killing everything? It's not killing everybody. I mean,
- 5:28Speaker 1: it's not good to have the oil prices go up.
- 5:30Speaker 1: But think about this for a second. President Trump goes
- 5:34Speaker 1: to war with a major oil producer, shuts down the
- 5:38Speaker 1: Strait of horn Moose, the major oil place of the world.
- 5:43Speaker 1: The whole thing is and we still haven't even gotten
- 5:46Speaker 1: close to Joe Biden oil prices. With all of this,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I've been a little rise in oil, but it's nowhere
- 5:52Speaker 1: near It's nothing near Joe Biden prices and oil. Remember
- 5:56Speaker 1: Joe Biden had up to five dollars a gallon at
- 5:58Speaker 1: the pumps. So it's going pretty well. Hey, the White
- 6:02Speaker 1: House Correspondents Dinners tomorrow night, and if you want to
- 6:04Speaker 1: watch it, the best way to watch it is Jimmy
- 6:07Speaker 1: Fayla will be hosting on the Fox News channel from
- 6:10Speaker 1: nine to midnight, so you'll see President Trump's speech. Jimmy
- 6:14Speaker 1: Fayala will be there at the White House Correspondence senter. Hey,
- 6:17Speaker 1: remember he was on the show with us yesterday and
- 6:19Speaker 1: he said he was going to go to the White
- 6:20Speaker 1: House to do They're going to shoot some video to
- 6:23Speaker 1: use on Saturday night. And he said he wasn't scheduled
- 6:27Speaker 1: to meet with the president. I said, President Trump knows
- 6:30Speaker 1: everything going on. He'll know you're in the building. You'll
- 6:33Speaker 1: be brought into the Oval office. He said, I don't
- 6:36Speaker 1: think so. Check out his Instagram here he is in
- 6:39Speaker 1: the Oval office President Trump greeting him personally. It's a
- 6:43Speaker 1: great picture. Jimmy Fayli's instagram. Hey, check out my instagram.
- 6:47Speaker 1: A lot of great pictures there, including Buck Sexton had
- 6:51Speaker 1: his book party. He's got an excellent book out, great
- 6:54Speaker 1: new book called Manufacturing Delusion. Big book party, doctor Gerson's
- 7:01Speaker 1: massive apartment. We had it there. A lot of people there,
- 7:03Speaker 1: Miranda Divine and a lot of Fox News people, a
- 7:06Speaker 1: lot of I'm trying to remember who else, lot of
- 7:09Speaker 1: good friends and family of a Buck Sexton. Excellent party.
- 7:13Speaker 1: But his new book is Manufacturing Delusion. It's a great book.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer, Chuck Schumer going nuts. It's funny. He was.
- 7:26Speaker 1: If you go back to the old videos twenty years ago,
- 7:28Speaker 1: he was yelling and screaming to secure the border. He
- 7:31Speaker 1: wanted ice everywhere. Remember in the Obama days, Ice was
- 7:35Speaker 1: everywhere arresting illegals, and they had a guy, you know who.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Obama's guy was in charge of ICE, Tom Holman, and
- 7:45Speaker 1: he arrested so many illegals and deported so many people
- 7:47Speaker 1: that Obama gave him the Medal of Freedom. And Schumer
- 7:50Speaker 1: is cheering, Well, these are just cheap, pandering politicians, whatever
- 7:54Speaker 1: way the wind is blowing. So now, if you're a Democrat,
- 7:58Speaker 1: it pays to be anti Ice. Schumer is pretending to
- 8:01Speaker 1: be anti Ice. He's not anything. He has no beliefs,
- 8:04Speaker 1: no principles of any kind. His whole business is donor service.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Donors make big contributions. He does favors for them all
- 8:13Speaker 1: day and night. This is all he does. But when
- 8:17Speaker 1: the camera's there, he's pandering. He's yelling and screaming. He
- 8:20Speaker 1: went stepped over a line. He got a little too
- 8:22Speaker 1: insulting about Ice. Nobody likes Ice, No, everybody hates that.
- 8:25Speaker 1: It was such a silly.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Adding one hundred and forty billion dollars to an agency
- 8:31Speaker 5: that nobody to two two two groups Border Patrol and
- 8:35Speaker 5: ICE that nobody respects in this country.
- 8:38Speaker 1: What an idiot, What a complete idiot. There are so
- 8:41Speaker 1: many people, any servant, the majority of Americans want ICE
- 8:45Speaker 1: to do their job. So you got Mark, Wayne Mull
- 8:49Speaker 1: and other people having to respond to this idiot Shumer.
- 8:52Speaker 6: The definition of a line scumbag politician, that is you.
- 8:56Speaker 6: You would be the definition if you googled you right now.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I mean, why don't you just come out and be
- 9:00Speaker 6: honest with American people. He wants to have open borders.
- 9:02Speaker 6: If you want to defind the Customer Border Protection Agency,
- 9:07Speaker 6: if you want to defind ice who was in there
- 9:09Speaker 6: arresting the criminals that the walls were passed by you,
- 9:13Speaker 6: You had time to change those during the Biden administration.
- 9:16Speaker 7: You didn't.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so hey, do you hear at this? You know,
- 9:20Speaker 1: the polymarket is the big thing, these online betting markets.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You make these bets, and some of them are for
- 9:26Speaker 1: big money. You bet on anything you bet on. No,
- 9:29Speaker 1: it's not a sports. You could bet on when they ran,
- 9:31Speaker 1: war is going to be over. You can bet on
- 9:34Speaker 1: how long will President Trump speak at the White House
- 9:36Speaker 1: correspondence There political stuff anything, foreign policy stuff. So remember
- 9:42Speaker 1: we rated Venezuela, we captured Maduro in the middle of
- 9:45Speaker 1: the night. Well some people bet. In fact, one guy
- 9:49Speaker 1: bet on exactly when it would happen, and he made
- 9:51Speaker 1: about half a million bucks. Well, it turns out he
- 9:55Speaker 1: was a government insider. He was working on that operation,
- 9:58Speaker 1: used his inside knowledge to play a bet. So now
- 10:01Speaker 1: he's in big trouble. The president talking about it.
- 10:04Speaker 3: That's like Peter Rowse betting on his own teams and
- 10:06Speaker 3: it's a little like Pete Rose.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Pete Rose, he kept him out of the Hall.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Of Fame because he bet on his own team.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Now, if he bet against his team, that would be
- 10:13Speaker 1: no good.
- 10:14Speaker 2: But he better on his own team.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I'll look into it. Yeah, So this poly market, some
- 10:19Speaker 1: people make a lot of money. Now, I've had actual
- 10:22Speaker 1: poly market betters contact right to me because they've made
- 10:26Speaker 1: a lot of money listening to this show. A lot
- 10:28Speaker 1: of times we tell you something's going to happen, and
- 10:29Speaker 1: we give you like an inside tip. There was one
- 10:34Speaker 1: remember when Israel was going to ray do a bombing
- 10:37Speaker 1: rate on I Ran. We told you like two nights
- 10:39Speaker 1: before when it would happen, the bombing of the nuclear reactions.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We told you what night that was. So some people
- 10:45Speaker 1: making a lot of money just using the information from
- 10:48Speaker 1: this show to make these bets. I've had some of
- 10:50Speaker 1: them contact. He's like, I'll pay you extra to tell
- 10:53Speaker 1: me before it goes down there. Well, no, we can't
- 10:56Speaker 1: do that. Can't do that. Hey, mom, Donnie's got another
- 11:00Speaker 1: problem besides this Ken Griffin backlash. You know, the East
- 11:05Speaker 1: Village is a strange place. It's different. You know, the
- 11:09Speaker 1: village used to be the kind of radical. Well, yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 1: the village goes. A lot of zillionaires are living in
- 11:15Speaker 1: the village has been much more civilized. It's the East
- 11:18Speaker 1: Village that's crazy and kooky and left wing. The East Village, Boy,
- 11:23Speaker 1: that neighborhood really turned out from Mom Donnie. They voted
- 11:26Speaker 1: for Mom Donnie, like crazy boy, did they support him? Well,
- 11:32Speaker 1: now the East Village hates him. The East Village is
- 11:35Speaker 1: rebelling against him because he wants to put the homeless
- 11:39Speaker 1: Men's shelter in the East Village. He's picked that location
- 11:42Speaker 1: as a building there, so the whole East Village is crazy, angry,
- 11:46Speaker 1: screaming at him. You see these crazy socialists. They yell
- 11:51Speaker 1: and scream. They want this stuff, but they don't want
- 11:53Speaker 1: it next door. They don't want it in their neighborhood.
- 11:55Speaker 1: So they're all mad at him. Nobody happy there. Now,
- 11:59Speaker 1: let's get to the Hamptons. It's a little like Beverly Hills.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It's the same thing. You got a lot of very
- 12:05Speaker 1: wealthy people with nothing to do all day, you know,
- 12:08Speaker 1: Kardashian type. I mean these people in Beverly Hills that
- 12:12Speaker 1: are like CEOs. They're working eighteen hour days. But you
- 12:16Speaker 1: got all these especially these women, real housewife types, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 1: idiots don't have a job, don't do anything, and they
- 12:25Speaker 1: get caught up in these ridiculous fads and trends. And
- 12:29Speaker 1: it started. You remember years ago, if you wanted coffee,
- 12:33Speaker 1: you just went and got a cup of coffee. You
- 12:35Speaker 1: want it black, or you want cream and sugar, that
- 12:37Speaker 1: was it. You want decaff or that was it. Then
- 12:40Speaker 1: Starbucks comes along and all of a sudden, it's not
- 12:42Speaker 1: just coffee, it's a coconut mocha, caramel, triple, this, something that.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And then when you come up with all these drinks,
- 12:52Speaker 1: instead of two dollars for coffee, it's eight dollars, it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: twelve dollars. So now you're paying a fortune for coffee.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I see these people come in with these Starbucks cups,
- 13:01Speaker 1: you know they this one got a twelve dollars cup
- 13:03Speaker 1: of coffee right down the hall. Here we got eighteen
- 13:06Speaker 1: coffee machines in that kitchen, and it's free. You're wasting
- 13:10Speaker 1: a lot of money. So the new thing now, that
- 13:12Speaker 1: happened years ago and that became a permanent part of
- 13:15Speaker 1: our world. The new thing now is smoothies. That's been
- 13:18Speaker 1: around for a while you'd always get a smoothie it's
- 13:20Speaker 1: eight dollars, it's nine, it's ten dollars, maybe maybe it's twelve,
- 13:25Speaker 1: all these smoothies. So it started in Beverly Hills, this
- 13:27Speaker 1: chain called Airwin. These are really special smoothies. This is
- 13:33Speaker 1: like the Starbucks of smoothies. They got stuff in these smoothies.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They got eccheoberry berries or the things you never heard of.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Who the hell knows what they are. But the smoothies
- 13:43Speaker 1: are now thirty dollars, thirty five dollars, forty dollars for smoothie.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And Airwan this big chain in California. They just opened
- 13:53Speaker 1: one in Beverly Hills. You can't get in there. There's
- 13:55Speaker 1: lines around the block day and night. Well, now there's
- 13:58Speaker 1: another chain, it's called sunlighte Organics. They make these very
- 14:03Speaker 1: special smoothies. They start at thirty five bucks and they
- 14:07Speaker 1: could go up to sixty five bucks for this. Well,
- 14:10Speaker 1: they're the same thing, lines around them. So they're opening
- 14:12Speaker 1: in the Hamptons sag Harbor. In fact, there's a beloved
- 14:16Speaker 1: little mom and pop place going out of business. They're
- 14:19Speaker 1: taken over and they're going to be This will be
- 14:21Speaker 1: the big thing. You can hear about this all summer,
- 14:23Speaker 1: These forty five dollars smoothies that everybody's going crazy over.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It has a cult following online. Kate Hudson, Kendall Jenner
- 14:32Speaker 1: pushing them. They're very big on Instagram. They call it
- 14:36Speaker 1: the billion dollars Smoothie, and they got all kinds of
- 14:40Speaker 1: ridiculous prices on it. But it says, now you're saying,
- 14:44Speaker 1: what the hell am I paying all that? Well, listen
- 14:46Speaker 1: to this. They have gochie berries in them. They have
- 14:49Speaker 1: lotus pollen. Now, nobody knows what the hell this is.
- 14:53Speaker 1: It could just be just absolute nothing junk, but it
- 14:57Speaker 1: sounds good. Goji berries, otis pollen, that sounds very impressive.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It has a prebiotic GLP one booster in it. But
- 15:07Speaker 1: they line up for miles. They don't know what the
- 15:09Speaker 1: hell it is. They have no clue what it does
- 15:11Speaker 1: for them. Anyway, we'll take some calls next. Eight hundred
- 15:15Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten. That's the number, eight
- 15:18Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:22Speaker 3: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app, save
- 15:24Speaker 3: time and tap the preset button now. Now go back
- 15:28Speaker 3: to the Mark Simone Show on woor.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:36Speaker 1: zero seven ten. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how you doing.
- 15:45Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark. I'm doing very well.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark.
- 15:48Speaker 7: This doesn't sound right.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Governor Kathy Hokeel and former President Obama are both looking
- 15:53Speaker 1: for support from mere Mundami. Well, I'm just lost his
- 16:01Speaker 1: big zillion dollar Netflix deal. He's trying to start his
- 16:06Speaker 1: own production company. He's trying to become much more relevant
- 16:10Speaker 1: than he was. So he's all over Mom, Donnie, he's
- 16:13Speaker 1: all over Hocal appearing with them. I think he's like
- 16:16Speaker 1: letting everybody know I'm close to them. You need anything,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you come through me. His guy, Axelrod was meeting with
- 16:22Speaker 1: the Pope. I think he's just trying to establish himself
- 16:26Speaker 1: as the guy you go to if you want to
- 16:28Speaker 1: get anything done. A good question, Dave. You know that's
- 16:31Speaker 1: what Bill Clinton did for years, and then every billionaire
- 16:34Speaker 1: in the world would show up and pay a fortune
- 16:37Speaker 1: to Bill Clinton or donate to that crazy foundation his
- 16:41Speaker 1: in exchange for Bill Clinton coming with you to take
- 16:44Speaker 1: you to see any world leader, any leader in America,
- 16:47Speaker 1: to get you whatever deal you needed. Let's go to
- 16:50Speaker 1: Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how you doing.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Look I'm good Mark Show and.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Really orbiting the moon? What kind of connection is that?
- 17:00Speaker 4: Oh?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Oh no, no, okay, okay, yeah, no, but go ahead, Okay.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I'm just wondering. July four, two two six. I hope
- 17:14Speaker 4: you're up on the dais up there with President Trump
- 17:17Speaker 4: to talk about all that's great and all the things
- 17:22Speaker 4: that are being exposed here in these months leading.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Up to well, I don't think they're happing a days,
- 17:28Speaker 1: but July fourth weekend, it's the two hundred and fiftieth
- 17:32Speaker 1: birthday of America, and a million events will take place
- 17:35Speaker 1: all over Washington, DC. Very tough on you know here
- 17:40Speaker 1: in New York. Well you take that Hamptons for instance, ooh,
- 17:43Speaker 1: the big Fourth of July parties, but all the big
- 17:45Speaker 1: names may maybe in Washington, there's going to be it's
- 17:48Speaker 1: actually like a month of events. But the July fourth
- 17:52Speaker 1: weekend there'll be a billion events. Fourth of July, two
- 17:56Speaker 1: hundred and fiftieth birthday of America. Now, this is going
- 17:59Speaker 1: to be a rough time for your Democratic friends. You
- 18:02Speaker 1: remember that they don't like the Fourth of July it's
- 18:04Speaker 1: not a good day for them, you know, for us,
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's a holiday. It's fireworks, it's hot dogs, it's picnics.
- 18:11Speaker 1: They don't like any of this flags waving every Democrats hate.
- 18:15Speaker 1: This great day for Democrats is April fifteenth. That's their
- 18:19Speaker 1: big holiday. Everybody's got to pay their taxes fourth of July.
- 18:23Speaker 1: They can't stand. Let's go to Bob in Connecticut. Bob,
- 18:26Speaker 1: how you doing, Mark?
- 18:28Speaker 8: It's Corrupticut. They changed the name. It's not Connecticut anymore.
- 18:32Speaker 1: It's well, you've always been kind of corrupt there. You
- 18:35Speaker 1: had like six mayors of Bridgeport go to jail, twelve
- 18:38Speaker 1: mayors of Waterbury have gone to jail. You've had like
- 18:42Speaker 1: two governors go to jailing, to jail from new Haven.
- 18:47Speaker 8: But anyway, I got two business models, yeah, for you.
- 18:51Speaker 8: One to take care of the strait of Hummus and
- 18:55Speaker 8: one to get rid of the illegal problem problem. We
- 19:01Speaker 8: do cruise ships on the street, and you have Barrett fifties.
- 19:07Speaker 8: So when the little spider boats or flea boats or whatever.
- 19:12Speaker 1: About Okay, great, that's the hell of a plan, thank you.
- 19:16Speaker 8: H The other the other, no, that actually you make
- 19:20Speaker 8: a lot of money to do it.
- 19:22Speaker 1: We'll early to be drinking, isn't it now? It's like fine,
- 19:26Speaker 1: I forgot it's Connecticut. You're at the country club there.
- 19:31Speaker 8: Okay. Now for the illegals, we do illegal roundups and
- 19:35Speaker 8: do it like the old cattle drives. There you go,
- 19:38Speaker 8: they walked in, they can walk out.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Well, all right, this has been a hell of a
- 19:42Speaker 1: phone call. Foster Brooks. Foster Brooks checking in from Connecticut
- 19:46Speaker 1: here anyway, thanks for calling. Let's go to h Vincent
- 19:51Speaker 1: and Brooklyn Vincent. How you doing.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, Good morning, Mara. Mark. Speaking about the
- 19:57Speaker 2: Russia Ukraine War, the United States has actually learned some
- 20:03Speaker 2: things or two from the Ukrainian military. As you pointed out,
- 20:09Speaker 2: we're spending a million dollars per missile to knock out
- 20:13Speaker 2: these cheesy drones that Ran keep sending over and Ukrainians
- 20:20Speaker 2: are using these. They cost like five thousand dollars these drones,
- 20:24Speaker 2: and what it does is they send them up and
- 20:26Speaker 2: it fouls up the propulsion of the missiles or the
- 20:29Speaker 2: incoming drone. Also, they're using robotic machine guns on these
- 20:34Speaker 2: robot cards. And now they even had it in the
- 20:37Speaker 2: post the other day, a war dog. It's actually a
- 20:41Speaker 2: robotic dog that they use it. Mark. Yesterday we spoke
- 20:45Speaker 2: about the fact that all the crime in the city
- 20:50Speaker 2: and everything, and in the post there was an article
- 20:53Speaker 2: about that poor woman whose son Jaden works murdering and
- 20:58Speaker 2: queens and mandami. They need go visit the mother and
- 21:01Speaker 2: the people out there and address the issue. But on
- 21:04Speaker 2: the lower part of the page there was this woman
- 21:07Speaker 2: who lives in the projects, and she was saying, forget
- 21:10Speaker 2: about all this green nonsense in the city, come and
- 21:14Speaker 2: repair the night your apartments. The night apartments are in disrepair.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Instead of spending you know, two hundred million dollars ripping
- 21:24Speaker 2: up Fifth Avenue in front of the same pats and
- 21:27Speaker 2: building these greenways all the way up to Halem for bicycles,
- 21:32Speaker 2: she was saying, spend that money repairing the night your apartments,
- 21:37Speaker 2: which obviously are in disrepair.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Very good point, Vincent, excellent point. Thanks for calling. You
- 21:46Speaker 1: gotta remember one thing about government. When they do it,
- 21:49Speaker 1: it's going to be the worst it's ever done. You know,
- 21:52Speaker 1: just remember this before you get to the governor government
- 21:55Speaker 1: grocery store. We you'll probably never see. But when they call,
- 21:58Speaker 1: talk about the slums, slumlords, the conditions. Then they say,
- 22:03Speaker 1: we'll build housing projects, government housing projects. They're the worst
- 22:07Speaker 1: slum lords of all. They got the worst conditions of anybody.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Nothing is worse than the way they run these government
- 22:13Speaker 1: housing projects. And watch you've seen some Yeah, there's a
- 22:18Speaker 1: lot of great supermarkets, but you've probably seen some pretty bad,
- 22:21Speaker 1: pretty rundown supermarkets before. Well wait, you see these government supermarkets,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you were going to see the dirtiest, filthiest, most awful,
- 22:30Speaker 1: horribly wrung grocery stores you've ever seen. You know, if
- 22:34Speaker 1: a professional grocery chain opens a grocery store in Manhattan,
- 22:39Speaker 1: they say it costs about two million bucks. Mom, Donnie's
- 22:42Speaker 1: first grocery store will be thirty million. Thirty million total
- 22:47Speaker 1: waste of money. It's going to be the dumpiest thing
- 22:49Speaker 1: you've ever seen. Uh, And that's just the way the
- 22:52Speaker 1: government does things. So hey, when we come back, the
- 22:55Speaker 1: great columnist Steve Cues of this, nobody better on the
- 23:00Speaker 1: subject of restaurants, on the subject of real estate. Actually,
- 23:04Speaker 1: he just did a whole study of the government run
- 23:06Speaker 1: grocery store and he just came back from Florida. So
- 23:09Speaker 1: if you're thinking life is so much better in Florida,
- 23:12Speaker 1: it's better to live there. We'll talk to him about
- 23:14Speaker 1: He can give you a full report in just a moment.
- 23:16Speaker 1: On seven to ten, WR re Mark's emotion. On sevent ten,
- 23:22Speaker 1: wor Well. Steve Cuzou a great New York Post columnist.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Now nobody's better on real estate, nobody better on restaurants
- 23:30Speaker 1: on New York. You can get all of his columns.
- 23:33Speaker 1: They're all up at the New York Post website. Steve Cuzo.
- 23:36Speaker 3: How you doing, Hey, good morning, Mark, I'm great, Thank you.
- 23:40Speaker 3: It's great to be back in New York.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll get to Florida in a second. You wrote
- 23:44Speaker 1: about the Mom Donnie grocery stores. You know, we're just saying,
- 23:46Speaker 1: whenever the government government does anything, they do it badly,
- 23:50Speaker 1: whether it's housing, apartment, whatever they do, and they think
- 23:52Speaker 1: at it. What makes them think they can run a
- 23:54Speaker 1: grocery store, Well, I mean they can't.
- 23:58Speaker 3: And you know, since this ridiculous thing was announced a
- 24:02Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago, my colleagues here at the Post
- 24:05Speaker 3: and other writers elsewhere TV have all taken a look
- 24:09Speaker 3: at this plan and said it's ridiculous because it costs
- 24:13Speaker 3: so much money. There would be one in the East
- 24:16Speaker 3: Tarlooro under the Metro North traps and what used to
- 24:23Speaker 3: be called Law Marquette when there were any real stores there,
- 24:26Speaker 3: and it would cost it's going to cost the city
- 24:28Speaker 3: out of taxpayer funds, thirty million dollars to open a
- 24:32Speaker 3: measly nine thousand square foot grocery.
- 24:34Speaker 7: Store and it will take four years to build.
- 24:37Speaker 3: This is, you know, hilarious, hysterical, comical on its face,
- 24:42Speaker 3: But I took a look at a different aspect of it,
- 24:45Speaker 3: which is not the absurdity of the cost and all
- 24:48Speaker 3: these issues, but why the hell is it needed in
- 24:52Speaker 3: the first place. You know, the supposed reason that Mamdani
- 24:56Speaker 3: and his echo chamber people have always put out, you know,
- 25:00Speaker 3: on the left, is that people who live in under
- 25:05Speaker 3: you know, lower income neighborhoods, and East Tarlem does have
- 25:08Speaker 3: a lower median income and most of the rest of
- 25:11Speaker 3: the city they suffer because there's no good food available,
- 25:15Speaker 3: and when there is, it's the merchants gouge.
- 25:18Speaker 7: They overcharge compared to other neighborhoods.
- 25:21Speaker 3: So I went up there and I just took a
- 25:22Speaker 3: walk around and found out that that's complete belonging. It's
- 25:26Speaker 3: hysterically ridiculous. I mean within one hundred feet of where
- 25:31Speaker 3: the new City Run Market would go along would be
- 25:36Speaker 3: on one hundred.
- 25:37Speaker 7: And sixteenth Street.
- 25:39Speaker 3: One hundred feet there's a beautiful supermarket called City City
- 25:44Speaker 3: Fresh Market, which is part of a group's part of
- 25:47Speaker 3: a chain, and it's a giant supermarket. It's not a
- 25:50Speaker 3: small it's not a bofel, beautifully lit, it's well stocked, clean, clean,
- 25:57Speaker 3: And here's the main point. The ices are low. The
- 26:01Speaker 3: prices are much lower on lots and lots of basic
- 26:06Speaker 3: products like milk and eggs and bread and soda and
- 26:12Speaker 3: even beer than they are in supermarkets like Cristitis and
- 26:16Speaker 3: Morton Williams and.
- 26:20Speaker 7: Trader Joe's all these other the.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Kind that you find in more affluent parts of town.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And some of the some of the comparisons are hilarious.
- 26:28Speaker 3: I mean, a quart of milk at this shop or
- 26:31Speaker 3: City Fresh Market dollar ninety nine, and I found that
- 26:35Speaker 3: I found the same quart of.
- 26:38Speaker 7: Milk as high as.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Dollars at certain other stores on the on the East
- 26:43Speaker 3: side of Manhattan and in the Midtown.
- 26:46Speaker 7: And so the whole idea that residents of.
- 26:50Speaker 3: These neighborhoods need low cost, lower cost products than they
- 26:56Speaker 3: already can can can get is ridiculous.
- 26:59Speaker 7: It's false, it's a lie. It just isn't true.
- 27:02Speaker 1: But even if they had trouble affording growth, why wouldn't
- 27:04Speaker 1: you just give them food stamps? Problem solved, You don't
- 27:07Speaker 1: have to build a whole.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Yeah maybe, I mean there is a food stamp program.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I don't I'm not an authority on the subject. I
- 27:13Speaker 3: don't know what it's called. There's a special name. I
- 27:15Speaker 3: don't know how that works. I don't know how many
- 27:17Speaker 3: people in the neighborhood can avail themselves of it. But yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 3: that's another good case to be made against having such
- 27:25Speaker 3: a ridiculous market. The one on one hundred and sixteenth
- 27:29Speaker 3: Street and Park Avenue would be one of five that
- 27:33Speaker 3: the Mamdani administration plans to open around the city.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Did you guys at the New York Post, did you
- 27:39Speaker 1: call Mamdani's office and say, how come you're building it
- 27:41Speaker 1: next to a big supermarket?
- 27:43Speaker 2: No?
- 27:44Speaker 1: I did not. I mean my colleagues.
- 27:46Speaker 3: My colleagues.
- 27:49Speaker 7: Have tried to reach out to the Mamdani.
- 27:53Speaker 3: White City Hall for ever since he was elected, and basically,
- 27:58Speaker 3: they don't speak to us at all. They don't care
- 28:00Speaker 3: what we think. They don't care what we write. They
- 28:02Speaker 3: don't care what we say. They're pitching themselves to, you know,
- 28:08Speaker 3: their constituency of like minded, left, left leaning idiots.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Hey, Steve Cuso just got back from Florida. Now I
- 28:20Speaker 1: know a lot of people are thinking of a move
- 28:22Speaker 1: to Miami. I'll move to Palm Beach and so what's
- 28:26Speaker 1: the deal there now, Palm Beach, tell me about West
- 28:28Speaker 1: Palm Beach.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Because this is it is fascinating to me.
- 28:31Speaker 1: This could be the future Palm Beach.
- 28:33Speaker 7: And West Palm Beach.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Palm Beach locals called the island to differentiated from West
- 28:39Speaker 3: Palm Beach across on the other other side of the
- 28:42Speaker 3: intracoastal waterways.
- 28:44Speaker 7: They're not far apart.
- 28:45Speaker 3: You can walk across from one to the other on
- 28:48Speaker 3: one of several bridges pedestrian bridges. But what's going on
- 28:54Speaker 3: in West Palm is really fascinating. Stephen Ross. Stephen m Ross,
- 28:58Speaker 3: the New York City developer who was the head, the chairman,
- 29:02Speaker 3: the CEO of Related Companies for decades.
- 29:04Speaker 7: He created Related Companies.
- 29:07Speaker 3: This is the guy who created what we know as
- 29:12Speaker 3: Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, even though it's now
- 29:15Speaker 3: technically Deutsche Bag Center. He created Hudson Yards, you know,
- 29:21Speaker 3: twenty six acre complex on the far west side that's
- 29:25Speaker 3: home to great office buildings of millions, stores and restaurants,
- 29:28Speaker 3: public spaces, the vessel, the performing arts center, all these things.
- 29:33Speaker 3: He moved to West Palm about four or five years ago.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Stephen is eighty five eighty five, okay, And he is
- 29:40Speaker 3: as active and energetic as ever. And he has a
- 29:43Speaker 3: vision for West Palm Beach that he is implementing through
- 29:48Speaker 3: a ten billion dollar investment through his company. Private Companies
- 29:52Speaker 3: no longer part of Related Companies. He has a company
- 29:54Speaker 3: called Related Ross and they've invested ten billion dollars in
- 29:59Speaker 3: West Palm Beach. What they're doing, they're not creating a
- 30:02Speaker 3: complex or a single project like a Hudson Yards. Rather,
- 30:07Speaker 3: they have over the years quietly brought up a whole
- 30:10Speaker 3: bunch of existing older buildings and properties in West Palm Beach.
- 30:15Speaker 3: The best part of West Palm is the area that
- 30:19Speaker 3: faces near the intracoastal, and in the space of a
- 30:25Speaker 3: few years, Ross has built three new office buildings, building
- 30:29Speaker 3: a fourth, several new beautiful apartment buildings, public spaces, and
- 30:36Speaker 3: it is a remarkable thing to behold, because West Palm
- 30:40Speaker 3: Beach was perfectly okay. It was kind of sleepy until
- 30:44Speaker 3: not long ago, and now it's pulsing with energy on
- 30:47Speaker 3: the streets, the sidewalks.
- 30:48Speaker 7: They brought in.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Not only have they lured tenants, office tenants, but they
- 30:55Speaker 3: have brought in least space to all kinds of stores,
- 31:01Speaker 3: New York style restaurants. There are a lot of New
- 31:03Speaker 3: York restaurants. They are like Harry's, the Steakhouse, Felice, and
- 31:11Speaker 3: there are many more coming. And the whole place is
- 31:14Speaker 3: alive again. And this reflects Ross's vision that West Palm
- 31:19Speaker 3: Beach can be the new Silicon Valley, very appealing to
- 31:24Speaker 3: tech industry. Tenants, very appealing to new residents. They haven't
- 31:32Speaker 3: brought they haven't gotten that many. They haven't lured anybody from.
- 31:35Speaker 7: New York, not really. And I asked.
- 31:37Speaker 3: I asked him, I said, so, are you benefiting from
- 31:40Speaker 3: big New York City exitus haha?
- 31:43Speaker 7: And he laughed and he said no.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Most of their tenants are coming from other parts of
- 31:48Speaker 3: the country, residential tenants, most of their office tenants, and
- 31:53Speaker 3: they've got some fairly good sized tenants and a few
- 31:55Speaker 3: more in the wings are from California in the Midwest,
- 32:00Speaker 3: asked there are some you know, one notable tenant is
- 32:04Speaker 3: Wells Fargo. Now, Wells Fargo moved their personal wealth management
- 32:10Speaker 3: division to hit one of Ross's West Palm Beach buildings.
- 32:15Speaker 3: And it's only about fifty thousand square feet and it
- 32:20Speaker 3: comes from both New York and believe it or not,
- 32:23Speaker 3: Saint Louis.
- 32:24Speaker 7: Which is where Wells Fargo originated, I think.
- 32:27Speaker 3: And it's a drop in the bucket compared with their
- 32:29Speaker 3: holdings in New York, where they have a million square feet.
- 32:32Speaker 7: Their hut, sign yards and elsewhere. But it's significant.
- 32:36Speaker 3: It's meaningful because it's a significant unit of Wells Fargo,
- 32:41Speaker 3: one of the great banks financial institutions, and they chose
- 32:45Speaker 3: to make their home in one of Ross's West Palm
- 32:50Speaker 3: Beach buildings.
- 32:50Speaker 1: All right, but here's the problem. I mean, he's great,
- 32:52Speaker 1: but they did this in Austin, Texas to other places.
- 32:56Speaker 1: You turned this little sleepy thing into a booming metropolis.
- 32:59Speaker 1: But now the airport's not big enough. Now you don't
- 33:01Speaker 1: have enough roads. Have they thought about that?
- 33:04Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I think that it's a good point.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I don't think there is any risk of West Palm
- 33:10Speaker 3: Beach turning into you know, our traffic congested, impassable nightmare,
- 33:16Speaker 3: which is, by the way, what much of Miami is.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Anybody who's been to Miami City of Miami, I don't
- 33:22Speaker 3: mean Miami.
- 33:23Speaker 7: Beach, but Miami.
- 33:24Speaker 3: In the last ten years, it's become one of the worst,
- 33:28Speaker 3: most unpleasant traffid nightmares in the country because of all this.
- 33:32Speaker 3: You know, they've got all these great new businesses in
- 33:37Speaker 3: a lot of great new buildings, so that's not likely
- 33:40Speaker 3: to happen now. The funny thing is West Palm Beach Airport.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I'm always hearing and reading about how great it is convenience,
- 33:47Speaker 3: which it is, but there's you know, there are all
- 33:50Speaker 3: these capital improvements, and personally I don't see it. Every
- 33:55Speaker 3: time my wife and I go through the West Palm Airport,
- 33:58Speaker 3: I think this is the best they can do. It's
- 34:01Speaker 3: not particularly gracious, but I think that there are some
- 34:04Speaker 3: improvements coming. One of the great advantages that Ross has
- 34:07Speaker 3: in West Palm Beach, this is very meaningful, is that
- 34:10Speaker 3: government in South Florida, for the most part, is much
- 34:14Speaker 3: more welcoming to business than New York City is, and
- 34:18Speaker 3: the various mayors, successive mayors in West Palm Beach. I
- 34:22Speaker 3: think the current guy's name is Keith Jones. Have invested
- 34:27Speaker 3: in infrastructure to support business. They have helped with zoning issues.
- 34:34Speaker 7: This has been very important.
- 34:35Speaker 3: To Ross's company, where they needed tweaks in the zoning
- 34:38Speaker 3: laws to.
- 34:41Speaker 7: Be able to put up what they wanted.
- 34:43Speaker 3: And whereas in New York, you know you've got to
- 34:45Speaker 3: go to eighteen thousand community boards and public review processes.
- 34:50Speaker 2: We all see.
- 34:51Speaker 3: This all the time, and it's a wonder that anything
- 34:55Speaker 3: ever gets built in New York. But anyway, for the
- 34:58Speaker 3: West Palm Beach, it's really not a problem.
- 35:00Speaker 7: Is the opposite of a problem.
- 35:01Speaker 1: We only got a few seconds left. Steve Cuso. If
- 35:03Speaker 1: you were forced to, if you had to move to Florida,
- 35:05Speaker 1: where would you live in Florida?
- 35:08Speaker 3: I don't know. I think probably parts of Miami Beach
- 35:11Speaker 3: that aren't too overruns.
- 35:13Speaker 7: You mean Miami North.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Not Ultra North, but Bow Harbor, the area called North
- 35:21Speaker 3: Beach I think, which are.
- 35:24Speaker 7: Family friendly.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Uh, they are close to the beach, but not on
- 35:28Speaker 3: the beach necessarily.
- 35:29Speaker 7: I don't want to be able to be no.
- 35:31Speaker 3: It's there are a lot of stores and restaurants and
- 35:34Speaker 3: if you want to, you know, explore the rest of
- 35:36Speaker 3: Miami Beach or or even the city of Miami.
- 35:40Speaker 1: It's easy.
- 35:41Speaker 7: Ubers are fantastic down there.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Well, we're out of time, but great stuff. If you
- 35:45Speaker 1: want to read more, go to Steve Cuso's section on
- 35:49Speaker 1: Just go to the New York Post website and all
- 35:51Speaker 1: of Steve Cuso's columns are up there, the one on
- 35:54Speaker 1: Palm Beach. Everything is up there and you can read
- 35:56Speaker 1: it there. And great stuff. Steve Cuzo, thanks for being
- 35:59Speaker 1: with us.
- 36:00Speaker 7: Thank you, Mark, always great to be on your show.
- 36:02Speaker 1: All right, take care. Hey, don't forget. If you can't
- 36:06Speaker 1: listen to the show live, you just get the podcast.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You can listen to show anytime you want, dear night,
- 36:11Speaker 1: get the podcast any place you get podcasts. And if
- 36:15Speaker 1: you're a podcast listener, there's an extra show every week
- 36:18Speaker 1: on the weekends, there's a bonus show, so check that out. Hey,
- 36:22Speaker 1: no forget. Curtis is here every weekday morning six to ten.
- 36:25Speaker 1: It's Curtis Sliwa and Larry Minti on seven to ten WRT,
- 36:30Speaker 1: the Mark Simone Show on sevenr O. Hey, the Met's curse.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Well they won again. That's two nights in a row.
