This solemn charge from the Book of Ecclesiastes opens the Third Degree and calls every Master Mason to live with purpose before the evil days come.
Freemasonry is progressive in its nature. In the First Degree you learned your duties to God, your neighbor, and yourself. In the Second you were led deeper into moral science and the works of the Grand Artificer of the Universe. The Third Degree cements the whole — here the theme widens, greater privileges and more sacred duties await, and the full scope of the Fraternity unfolds.
