- 1:51Speaker 2: a whole lot. Big hugs. Let's get into this thing. Yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 2: let's get into Greg Olsen. Let's get into the NFL
- 1:57Speaker 2: Fun Conversation shirting. Do you have anything before we go?
- 2:00Speaker 3: Make sure you're.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Out there?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yep?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Subscribe, please please place. All right, boys, let's get to
- 2:09Speaker 2: the show.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Packer's mind life. Do you do you like keep up
- 2:12Speaker 1: with the college football world?
- 2:13Speaker 5: I mean I watch it casually. I don't study it
- 2:16Speaker 5: or follow it to in depth.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's so much fun to watch college football knowing.
- 2:23Speaker 6: It's a great product. It's just a mess of a sport.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Knowing as much as you know about college football, or
- 2:29Speaker 2: or just football in general, when you watch college you
- 2:31Speaker 2: see all these idiotic mistakes taking place, so all these
- 2:35Speaker 2: crazy explosives happen. It is so entertaining. The NFL. It's
- 2:40Speaker 2: just it's so put together, that's the thing. It's like
- 2:44Speaker 2: the good teams are just gonna play good ball, continue
- 2:47Speaker 2: to win, do their thing. Like you watch the Patriots,
- 2:49Speaker 2: it's like they don't make mistakes. They have their explosive
- 2:52Speaker 2: runs here and there the other exploit, but it's like
- 2:54Speaker 2: they're just gonna keep trudge along. They might be the
- 2:56Speaker 2: best team is Mike Vrabel.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You're coach of the year right now? Greg?
- 3:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so, I think And again I'm not
- 3:04Speaker 5: sure if they have the roster. I think there's a
- 3:06Speaker 5: lot of people saying, you know, they're gonna win the
- 3:08Speaker 5: Super Bowl. I'm not there yet. I think obviously they're
- 3:13Speaker 5: a great story. I think Drake may finds himself in
- 3:15Speaker 5: the top, you know, probably three guys in the MVP race,
- 3:20Speaker 5: three or four. I can make an argument that are
- 3:22Speaker 5: all kind of in it together. I think Varebel is
- 3:24Speaker 5: the front runner byle I can't. I'm trying to think
- 3:27Speaker 5: who would even be McDonald?
- 3:30Speaker 6: McDonald.
- 3:31Speaker 5: I guess the reason Verbel. I guess the reason Verebel
- 3:34Speaker 5: holds it for me is just considering obviously he's just
- 3:37Speaker 5: getting started. Yeah, you know, like he's just he's brand new,
- 3:40Speaker 5: and and how bad they've been prior. It's not so
- 3:45Speaker 5: much that they're good, it's how fast they've gotten good.
- 3:48Speaker 5: I think we saw elements of Seattle last year, even
- 3:51Speaker 5: though the offense was a bit disjointed, and obviously he
- 3:55Speaker 5: McDonald realized pretty quickly that he had to get that
- 3:57Speaker 5: figured out bringing in Kubiak. But yeah, that's what That's
- 4:01Speaker 5: what gives the lead in my mind to Vrabel, just
- 4:04Speaker 5: how good he's gotten a team that's been bad for
- 4:06Speaker 5: I mean, they've been like bad, bad for multiple seasons
- 4:10Speaker 5: prior to him getting there.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, who oh, yeah, I forget he does. He's probably
- 4:15Speaker 1: got o port NOOI say they're gonna win the super Bowl,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but let me ask you this his video, his video
- 4:22Speaker 1: with Robert Kraft in the suite.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Hey, listen, they are good. I'm just I'm not there.
- 4:28Speaker 5: I'm not ready to say they're going to win the
- 4:29Speaker 5: super Bowl yet.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Super Bowl is a stretch.
- 4:31Speaker 2: The only thing holding them back is a roster because
- 4:33Speaker 2: they really they have the buy in. They play, they
- 4:35Speaker 2: play the game well, but it's like, at what point
- 4:37Speaker 2: do you get overwhelmed because they just they actually just
- 4:40Speaker 2: don't have the talent on the roster to be like, Okay,
- 4:42Speaker 2: this is a super Bowl contending team, but they Drake
- 4:46Speaker 2: May I mean, imagine if he had like number one
- 4:50Speaker 2: wide receivers not not Stefan Diggs is coming off in
- 4:53Speaker 2: a cl not Boody, who you know, kind of has
- 4:56Speaker 2: been like a you don't really know what he is.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He's a two or is he a three? He's just
- 5:01Speaker 2: who It doesn't matter who's out there. He is just
- 5:03Speaker 2: putting the ball where it needs to be.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Tight En Henry. Let me ask you guys something. If
- 5:08Speaker 1: the Patriots win the a f C East, and let's
- 5:11Speaker 1: just say they're three four lost team and there are
- 5:13Speaker 1: one seed in the a f C, how do you
- 5:15Speaker 1: not give Drake May the m v P if he
- 5:19Speaker 1: continues to play at the level, Like I don't know,
- 5:21Speaker 1: who's in your mind probably.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Think if he gets the number one seed, I think
- 5:25Speaker 6: you do.
- 5:26Speaker 2: The not the knock, because I agree, but the knock
- 5:29Speaker 2: is going to be their schedule because everyone even when
- 5:31Speaker 2: you put out I know it's the NFL, but even
- 5:34Speaker 2: when I tweeted out yesterday, the Patriots are the best
- 5:36Speaker 2: team in the NFL, and all all the people that
- 5:38Speaker 2: are anti Patriots is just all the conversation is revolving
- 5:41Speaker 2: around their schedule and how bad it is because they
- 5:44Speaker 2: what they were fourth last year in the AFC East,
- 5:47Speaker 2: So your fourth obviously you're playing against all the other
- 5:49Speaker 2: fourth as well.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And I just think, so you got him winning the
- 5:52Speaker 1: super Bowl. If you're saying that the.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Best I think the best team in the NFL right now,
- 5:56Speaker 2: I think the I think the Super Bowl winner is
- 5:58Speaker 2: going to come out of the NFC West.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You think the Patriots right now are playing at a
- 6:02Speaker 1: higher level than the Rams than the Seahawks.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I think they're playing at a higher level. Yes, from
- 6:07Speaker 2: what they have, they are doing more with less than
- 6:10Speaker 2: the other team. Drake may is playing MVP caliber right now,
- 6:14Speaker 2: November tenth, whatever day it is, They're the best team
- 6:17Speaker 2: in the NFL. Even though I mean the Seahawks put
- 6:20Speaker 2: a crazy display on defense and offense, and Sam Donald's
- 6:23Speaker 2: playing credible. I think eventually the Patriots are going to lose.
- 6:27Speaker 2: They're going to lose one or two or even three
- 6:29Speaker 2: more games, even with the easy schedule they have. I
- 6:31Speaker 2: Sean McVay, McDonald, those are the two coaches that I
- 6:34Speaker 2: see hoisting Lombardi at this point going into the Super Bowl.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's a mind twist right there. I got Seattle on
- 6:42Speaker 1: the Rams better than the if they played tomorrow. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: got Seattle and the Rams both beating the Patriots.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I agree, God Seattle, Seattle.
- 6:50Speaker 5: We talked about I think we talked about this last
- 6:52Speaker 5: week that coming into the season, the presumption.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Was the AFC had all the heavy.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Hitters, right know, the three big horse you know, m
- 7:02Speaker 5: VP guys with Lamar, Josh Allen and and Mahomes. And
- 7:06Speaker 5: then the next tier of a FC teams that everyone
- 7:08Speaker 5: thought were on the rise. I mean, I think everyone
- 7:11Speaker 5: Denver has I guess the best record. Aren't they right
- 7:14Speaker 5: now the best? I don't think anyone pretends that they're
- 7:18Speaker 5: the best team in the conference. I don't think that's
- 7:21Speaker 5: if you've watched them play at.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Last week.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I mean, after that game was easy to jump ship.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Sorry, no, no, So.
- 7:30Speaker 5: I think coming into the season, right it's always been
- 7:32Speaker 5: where do all the heavy hitting quarterbacks lie. They've they've
- 7:35Speaker 5: lied in the a f C. Now they've got another
- 7:37Speaker 5: one in Drake May. But I think right now, the
- 7:40Speaker 5: best teams, the best balanced offense, defense, passing, game coaching.
- 7:46Speaker 5: I think the best teams are in the NFC. I
- 7:50Speaker 5: think the depth of quality NFC teams, even if all
- 7:53Speaker 5: the superstar name quarterbacks might be on the other, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 5: in the a f C. I think the Rams, I
- 8:00Speaker 5: think Seattle. I still think Philly's going to be in
- 8:02Speaker 5: it down the stretch, just because they've got their rosters
- 8:05Speaker 5: so good and they've been there before. You know, you could.
- 8:10Speaker 5: I still think Green Bay is going to be in
- 8:11Speaker 5: the mix when it all comes. You know, Tonight's game
- 8:13Speaker 5: is going to be awesome.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Detroit.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Detroit's still going to be in the mix. Dan Campbell
- 8:18Speaker 5: takes over play calling. They score a thousand points in
- 8:20Speaker 5: five hundred yards, so it's uh. I just I think
- 8:24Speaker 5: the quality Tampa Bay. I think if they ever get
- 8:27Speaker 5: all of their guys back healthy. I know they lost
- 8:30Speaker 5: obviously yesterday to New England, but you know it feels
- 8:33Speaker 5: like that's a roster that just needs to get some
- 8:35Speaker 5: of their guys back and their contender. I mean, you
- 8:37Speaker 5: look at the potentially the seven teams out of the
- 8:40Speaker 5: NFC in the playoffs, I think you can make an
- 8:44Speaker 5: argument that all seven, regardless if you're the seventh while
- 8:47Speaker 5: you're the seventh seed wildcard or the number one seed
- 8:50Speaker 5: with the bye, I think you can make an argument
- 8:52Speaker 5: you could see all of them making a run.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would agree with that absolutely. Yeah. I
- 8:58Speaker 2: just the thing about the Patriots that right now making
- 9:01Speaker 2: the best team to me is the balance they have
- 9:03Speaker 2: on offense. Like Drake May has been outstanding throwing a
- 9:06Speaker 2: deep ball. But I know this conversation always goes back
- 9:08Speaker 2: to the run game, Greg, but they ran the ball effectively.
- 9:12Speaker 2: They had explosives. Was it Henderson? Is that his name? Henderson?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Two explosives, two touchdowns, the fact that he's as fast
- 9:18Speaker 2: as he is, he's able to look over the silence.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Should I score?
- 9:20Speaker 2: Should I not score? Like that, that team, to me
- 9:24Speaker 2: is playing the best football in the NFL. Right now
- 9:27Speaker 2: we're going I mean, did you guys were able to
- 9:29Speaker 2: watch the Seattle Cardinals game? No, that was incredible. The
- 9:34Speaker 2: game was just watching Seattle and then being able to
- 9:37Speaker 2: take over in the first quarter. Was I think they
- 9:39Speaker 2: scored their twenty first point like three seconds into the second.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Quarter, because then they have a defensive touchdown.
- 9:45Speaker 2: They had two defensive touchdowns. It was Knight who caused
- 9:49Speaker 2: both fumbles, and it was DeMarcus Lawrence who picked up
- 9:53Speaker 2: the ball both times and scored touchdowns. And like the
- 9:55Speaker 2: players were like identical. I might have been the same
- 9:57Speaker 2: as thatc Blitz. And then the first drive obviously Sam
- 10:00Speaker 2: Donald goes in those at the JSN. Who's putting up
- 10:02Speaker 2: numbers that no one's ever seen before. He's on pace
- 10:04Speaker 2: to break the record. Like that was a fun, fun
- 10:07Speaker 2: game to watch.
- 10:09Speaker 1: How do you go out?
- 10:12Speaker 6: No go ahead? No go ahead? I was just gonnaga.
- 10:14Speaker 6: I was going to say, you said.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Just to look ahead the next weekend because Rams got
- 10:18Speaker 1: Seattle next weekend.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I got the game.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Oh what do you what do you think?
- 10:24Speaker 5: It's the best game of the season from a pure
- 10:26Speaker 5: from a pure football team standpoint, coaching, rosters, quarterback play,
- 10:32Speaker 5: all of it, style of play. I think I think
- 10:36Speaker 5: through eleven weeks it's the best.
- 10:40Speaker 6: It's the best. Now can the game live up to it?
- 10:42Speaker 6: Who knows.
- 10:42Speaker 5: We've had some incredible, fun, dramatic games, great endings, overtimes,
- 10:48Speaker 5: so who knows if it lives up to that. But
- 10:50Speaker 5: just the billing of the matchup, two of the best
- 10:53Speaker 5: three teams at worst for two of the best four
- 10:56Speaker 5: at worst in the entire league going going up against
- 11:00Speaker 5: each other. I am thrilled that we got this game.
- 11:04Speaker 5: And they're two of my favorite teams to study. I
- 11:06Speaker 5: think the style in which they play, they're both using
- 11:08Speaker 5: that big personnel stuff we talked about at length last week.
- 11:12Speaker 6: We talked about Seattle's doing.
- 11:13Speaker 5: It out of twelve and the Rams are The Rams
- 11:16Speaker 5: have been an eleven three wide receiver team for a
- 11:19Speaker 5: thousand years, and all of a sudden, now they're in thirteen,
- 11:22Speaker 5: big jumbo personnel, big bodies, and they're just wearing teams out.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I think it's a fascinating storyline, both teams, both quarterbacks.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I think it's the through eleven games, the game of
- 11:34Speaker 5: the year.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree. Who would you have? Who would
- 11:39Speaker 1: you edge it out to going into this game?
- 11:41Speaker 5: I'd have to tell you on Friday. I haven't started,
- 11:45Speaker 5: like really diving in and studying them just yet. I've
- 11:49Speaker 5: had each team once, but real early in the season,
- 11:51Speaker 5: I had the Rams in that game that they really
- 11:54Speaker 5: played well through the first half, and then Philly came
- 11:57Speaker 5: to life blocked a couple of those field goals there
- 12:00Speaker 5: at the end to beat the Rams in Philly early.
- 12:04Speaker 5: And then I had the week one game of Seattle,
- 12:05Speaker 5: so it was the first game of Kubiak, first game
- 12:07Speaker 5: of Sam Darnold. They lost at home to the forty
- 12:12Speaker 5: nine ers. So it's been a while since I've actually
- 12:14Speaker 5: studied them and had them. I just watched them from afar,
- 12:17Speaker 5: But I think they're both really good. Come Friday, I
- 12:20Speaker 5: can give you a better assessment. But man, it's the
- 12:26Speaker 5: best matchup bar none.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Staying in the NFC previewing tonight's game with the Packers Eagles,
- 12:32Speaker 1: who do you see coming out on top of there
- 12:34Speaker 1: in Green Bay.
- 12:36Speaker 5: I saw a stat that Green Bay hasn't lost back
- 12:38Speaker 5: to back games in like twelve years or something outrageous,
- 12:43Speaker 5: So you know, I always kind of look at those
- 12:45Speaker 5: stats with a grain of salt because, like, none of
- 12:47Speaker 5: these guys were ever a part of that twelve year run.
- 12:49Speaker 5: But we saw green Bay stink it up. I was
- 12:52Speaker 5: there live called it in that loss to the Panthers.
- 12:57Speaker 5: So I expect them to bounce back. I expect them
- 13:00Speaker 5: to be a little bit more aggressive offensively at home.
- 13:04Speaker 5: I've just seen Philly too many times be look dead
- 13:07Speaker 5: to rights and then you look up in the fourth
- 13:10Speaker 5: quarter and they're winning. They're just such a hard team
- 13:13Speaker 5: to beat traditionally over the last couple of years. If
- 13:18Speaker 5: you put a gun to my head right now, I
- 13:22Speaker 5: think Philly's, Philly wins. But I think Green Bay looks
- 13:27Speaker 5: light years better than they did last week. I think
- 13:29Speaker 5: they take the the Governor off. I think they put
- 13:32Speaker 5: the game in Jordan Love's hand. Let him go out
- 13:34Speaker 5: there and be the dynamic passer that he is. Don't
- 13:36Speaker 5: play the style of all these other teams want to
- 13:38Speaker 5: and muddy it up. Is the weather going to be nice?
- 13:41Speaker 5: I have no idea is they're going to be a
- 13:42Speaker 5: decent night in Lambeau. Do you guys have any idea,
- 13:44Speaker 5: no clue.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Let's pretend that it is a little chilly.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, things a little bit.
- 13:51Speaker 5: But if it's a neutral, normal day and they can
- 13:54Speaker 5: you know, they can let it rip and throw it,
- 13:56Speaker 5: I think, uh, I mean, I have to imagine that
- 14:00Speaker 5: a hell of a lot better than they did last
- 14:01Speaker 5: week against Panthers.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I dude, I got a question for you, just from
- 14:05Speaker 2: a broadcasting standpoint, when you obviously you're one of the
- 14:08Speaker 2: best in the game now, but when you were first
- 14:10Speaker 2: starting and you would catch a game like that Packers
- 14:13Speaker 2: Panthers game last week, was there like a new level
- 14:17Speaker 2: of stress when we'd be like, yo, this game's lotless,
- 14:19Speaker 2: kind of shitty. There's nothing really to talk about, whether
- 14:21Speaker 2: there's like a panic mode in the second half or
- 14:23Speaker 2: was it always kind of just easy for you to
- 14:25Speaker 2: go through everything.
- 14:27Speaker 6: No, those are the worst. Those are the worst games, right.
- 14:30Speaker 5: So that's the irony of calling games is you know
- 14:32Speaker 5: you're never gonna make everybody happy. Everybody thinks when you're
- 14:36Speaker 5: negative or critical of their team or a decision that
- 14:38Speaker 5: you don't like the coach or you have history with
- 14:40Speaker 5: the organization, or you know it's because of some random
- 14:43Speaker 5: game earlier in your career and you've hated the team
- 14:46Speaker 5: ever since. It's all nonsense, right, Like we call games
- 14:50Speaker 5: that we hope are competitive, we want them to be dramatic.
- 14:52Speaker 5: We want them to be a one possession game in
- 14:55Speaker 5: the fourth.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Quarter and have a little drama.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Now, the Packers Panthers game last week was that it
- 15:00Speaker 5: was a game winning walk off field goal, so there
- 15:03Speaker 5: was drama. It was just it's just bad ball, right,
- 15:06Speaker 5: There's not a lot of points. Nobody can score touchdowns.
- 15:08Speaker 5: It's a rock fight, it's one hundred handoffs. It's just
- 15:12Speaker 5: it's not entertaining football. But the saving grace is the end.
- 15:16Speaker 5: The ending can sometimes save a game that wasn't overly
- 15:20Speaker 5: cooperative throughout. And I think that's as a broadcaster, that's
- 15:25Speaker 5: all we care about. We don't care who wins who loses.
- 15:28Speaker 5: We don't have narratives, we don't out we don't, you know,
- 15:32Speaker 5: determine the outcome of the game. People think we're calling
- 15:34Speaker 5: for penalties or not, like we call it as we
- 15:37Speaker 5: see it. I could care, I couldn't care less who wins,
- 15:40Speaker 5: but we do want drama. We do want close games.
- 15:43Speaker 5: We want the game to come down to the end
- 15:45Speaker 5: and be situational and managing the clock and managing timeouts,
- 15:49Speaker 5: and that the strategy that comes out of drama, at
- 15:53Speaker 5: least to me personally, is like, those are the games
- 15:55Speaker 5: I live for. We've been very lucky this year. We've
- 15:57Speaker 5: had a million great endings, had one yesterday in Chicago
- 16:01Speaker 5: coming back and the forth to beat the Giants, So
- 16:04Speaker 5: that that's what we pull for. But those real clunky games,
- 16:08Speaker 5: especially the blowouts, it's a challenge, right You kind of
- 16:12Speaker 5: the blowouts turn into a daytime talk radio show and
- 16:15Speaker 5: you just start covering random topics throughout the league. The
- 16:18Speaker 5: game really is just going on in the background. In
- 16:23Speaker 5: the second half when it's a thirty point blowout.
- 16:25Speaker 1: We're talking about bad football. What the hell happened at
- 16:27Speaker 1: the Panthers bro dropping against the Saints?
- 16:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that that was bad. I mean, listen to.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Kind of one where you're like sitting there like, oh,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, could the could the Panthers be a fun
- 16:44Speaker 1: story in the division?
- 16:45Speaker 5: I know, I I man, I had a bad feeling
- 16:49Speaker 5: all week, you know. I mean, you guys have been
- 16:51Speaker 5: on these teams right, Like, let's be honest here, we've
- 16:53Speaker 5: all been in locker rooms that all of a sudden
- 16:55Speaker 5: you get a taste of your first winning as that group, right,
- 16:59Speaker 5: guys have had success in random places. But maybe that
- 17:03Speaker 5: group of guys has not experienced a ton of success.
- 17:06Speaker 5: No matter how you fight it, there is an element
- 17:09Speaker 5: in the NFL to learn how to have a little success,
- 17:11Speaker 5: whether that's individually, whether that's collectively as a locker room.
- 17:15Speaker 5: And all of a sudden, the Panthers look and there
- 17:17Speaker 5: one game over five hundred, they just beat you know,
- 17:19Speaker 5: they just beat the Packers, who people thought was an
- 17:21Speaker 5: NFC contender on the road in Lambeau, And you start
- 17:26Speaker 5: feeling pretty good about yourself and you start thinking that
- 17:28Speaker 5: teams are beneath you. And obviously the Saints are coming
- 17:32Speaker 5: into Carolina as a one win team at the time,
- 17:35Speaker 5: and on their rookie quarterback they bench Rattler and that.
- 17:38Speaker 6: So it's amazing how quickly you.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Can forget your past, and you can forget just the
- 17:44Speaker 5: reality and just say, you know what, let's just.
- 17:46Speaker 6: Stay locked in on what we're doing. One week. We
- 17:48Speaker 6: have not arrived.
- 17:49Speaker 5: We are not that good, right, Like all those things
- 17:51Speaker 5: that you had to constantly remind yourself as a player.
- 17:55Speaker 5: The teams that can sustain winning over long periods of time,
- 17:58Speaker 5: there is an art to learning how to deal with
- 18:00Speaker 5: success and learning how to deal with expectations. When you're
- 18:03Speaker 5: the underdog and you're just a fun story and if
- 18:05Speaker 5: you show up and upset the better team, great, but
- 18:08Speaker 5: no one expects anything from you. That's actually an easy
- 18:11Speaker 5: way to play. And I think for a lot of
- 18:13Speaker 5: these teams that are just now starting to experience success,
- 18:17Speaker 5: it takes a little time for them to get accustomed
- 18:19Speaker 5: to it.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and takes some success right now. The Chicago Bears,
- 18:24Speaker 1: they went like, there was the last seven. Yeah, there's
- 18:27Speaker 1: six and three right now.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's just wild too. I wonder how that game.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I mean, they were up Jackson Dark he runs like
- 18:35Speaker 2: a QB power to the left side, right, gets a
- 18:37Speaker 2: little concussion, gets a little conkyed, and they're up by
- 18:40Speaker 2: ten at that point. Am I correcting? Is that right?
- 18:43Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 18:43Speaker 5: It was seventeen to seven, So seventeen seven they're driving.
- 18:49Speaker 5: They're either on the fringe of the red zone or
- 18:51Speaker 5: in the red zone. They were give or take twenty
- 18:53Speaker 5: plus side. I can't remember exactly the.
- 18:54Speaker 6: Yard line he ran.
- 18:56Speaker 5: He had run the ball really well, he had already
- 18:58Speaker 5: run for two touchdowns prior, and he ran a play,
- 19:01Speaker 5: got into the open field and CJ. Gardner Johnson put
- 19:04Speaker 5: a hit, but he didn't hit him in the head.
- 19:06Speaker 5: He hit him dead on the left arm, which is decided.
- 19:09Speaker 5: He was carrying the ball and the ball popped up.
- 19:11Speaker 5: He grabbed it, and then he got driven and he
- 19:13Speaker 5: like face planted into the turf and the ball popped out.
- 19:17Speaker 6: So instead of them going.
- 19:19Speaker 5: In at minimum to make it twenty to seven or
- 19:21Speaker 5: potentially twenty four to seven, they get nothing, and then
- 19:26Speaker 5: they the next oh and then the next drive they
- 19:28Speaker 5: get the ball back, and so Chicago goes down kicks
- 19:32Speaker 5: a field goal to make it seventeen to ten. Now
- 19:35Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter, Russ takes over. He takes them
- 19:39Speaker 5: the length of the field. They get down to fourth
- 19:41Speaker 5: and goal, the one yard line to make it up
- 19:44Speaker 5: seventeen ten. They're trying to make it twenty four ten,
- 19:48Speaker 5: and they kick a field goal fourth and goal. The
- 19:51Speaker 5: Bears have too many men on the field, so we're
- 19:55Speaker 5: expecting them to accept the penalty, go half the distance
- 19:57Speaker 5: to the goal and get fourth and half a yard
- 20:00Speaker 5: and try to score a touchdown. They elected to decline
- 20:02Speaker 5: the penalty. They take the three points and that made
- 20:06Speaker 5: it twenty to ten and they didn't score another point.
- 20:11Speaker 5: Caleb Williams took him on back to back touchdown drives
- 20:13Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter and the game was over.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Yo, I have no idea what to make of Caleb Williams. Dude,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'll just at some point he's a damn good football player,
- 20:24Speaker 2: but also he just has these crazy like lapses in
- 20:27Speaker 2: judgment sometimes, and yeah, he just holds the ball for
- 20:30Speaker 2: I don't know. You could give me more of insight
- 20:32Speaker 2: on that. I'm just I don't know what to buy.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Well, if I was a left tackle, I would agree
- 20:38Speaker 5: with you, because I think cast protecting from him is stressful.
- 20:42Speaker 5: I don't think you now. I say that, and then
- 20:45Speaker 5: I look at yesterday. If I'm the offensive line in Chicago,
- 20:49Speaker 5: I'm buying him a stake dinner right now. Because the
- 20:52Speaker 5: Giants pressured him at one of the highest rates of
- 20:54Speaker 5: the entire season that the Bears had faced.
- 20:57Speaker 6: They could not get him on the ground.
- 20:59Speaker 5: It was almost like a you know, like you see
- 21:01Speaker 5: those videos, are those like really talented high school kids
- 21:04Speaker 5: where it looks like they're playing the wrong sport and
- 21:06Speaker 5: they just no one can tackle.
- 21:07Speaker 6: Then that's really what it looked like.
- 21:10Speaker 5: I mean, Thibodeau had him ten times in the backfield,
- 21:13Speaker 5: couldn't get him down. Brian Burns has them, can't get
- 21:17Speaker 5: him down. He's escaping, he's scrambling, he's making really accurate
- 21:20Speaker 5: throws downfield. He got killed by drops yesterday. His team
- 21:24Speaker 5: had probably six drops easy.
- 21:29Speaker 6: Yesterday.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Of all the tape that I had watched of him
- 21:31Speaker 5: and all studying him, yesterday was by far the most
- 21:33Speaker 5: impressive ball he's played.
- 21:36Speaker 6: I think through his first year and a half in
- 21:37Speaker 6: the league.
- 21:38Speaker 5: He was incredible escapability, not taking sacks, which obviously was
- 21:43Speaker 5: a huge issue last year. And then he was a
- 21:45Speaker 5: lot more accurate throwing the ball downfield. That had kind
- 21:48Speaker 5: of been his shortcomings coming into the game. His accuracy
- 21:51Speaker 5: completion percentage was down, but his guys let him down
- 21:55Speaker 5: a little bit with some drops. But he was He
- 21:58Speaker 5: was fantastic, and then obviously the two game, the back
- 22:00Speaker 5: to back touchdown drives to win the game.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Late.
- 22:04Speaker 5: It's as good a ball as he's played, It's as
- 22:05Speaker 5: good a ball as you can play. At the quarterback position.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'll tell you what day Bowl is not helping himself
- 22:10Speaker 1: out with these hot seat conversations.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I just think they I think if you're the ownership
- 22:14Speaker 2: with the Giants, you got to sit there and be like,
- 22:16Speaker 2: you have a very unique quarterback personality wise, you have
- 22:18Speaker 2: a very unique running back who's hurt personality wise. They've
- 22:22Speaker 2: given they've given the Giants life. You have a pass
- 22:25Speaker 2: rushing unit that every single guy can get double digit
- 22:28Speaker 2: sacks that they really wanted to throughout the season, like
- 22:30Speaker 2: give him one more year. But the whole decision on
- 22:34Speaker 2: fourth and one, thin at the penalty and not taking
- 22:36Speaker 2: it like that to me is like you just you
- 22:38Speaker 2: gotta you gotta go for it.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Bad fourth quarter losses, Yeah, we have the lead by ten,
- 22:43Speaker 1: you're up.
- 22:45Speaker 7: Do what they have the The Giants have had the
- 22:48Speaker 7: lead by ten points in four in the fourth quarter,
- 22:51Speaker 7: a ten pointly in the fourth quarter four times, lost
- 22:53Speaker 7: all four.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Games, right, and I'm saying, like the last two, like
- 22:57Speaker 1: that's that right there, the last two Like with the
- 23:01Speaker 1: Bears and the Broncos, that decision on take hey, we'll
- 23:05Speaker 1: decline this another opportunity to try to score points and
- 23:07Speaker 1: go up twenty four to ten. Yeah, he doesn't help.
- 23:11Speaker 1: All I'm saying is he's not helping him So are
- 23:12Speaker 1: you calling for his head? Right, No, I'm saying he's
- 23:14Speaker 1: not helping himself. He doesn't help himself.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's just.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I agree because so much of the ball at times
- 23:21Speaker 5: looks really good, you know. And again, they're playing without
- 23:24Speaker 5: Molikue neighbors, they're playing without Skataboo, Like they're depleted a
- 23:27Speaker 5: little bit.
- 23:28Speaker 6: At the skill positions.
- 23:29Speaker 5: I think defensively, they are grossly underperforming the amount of capital,
- 23:34Speaker 5: draft capital, free agent, you know, just in a cap,
- 23:38Speaker 5: you know, allocation only the Steelers have spent more money,
- 23:42Speaker 5: Like they've gotta get more out of the defense.
- 23:45Speaker 6: And you know, you have ten point leads.
- 23:47Speaker 5: I don't care if the offense takes a knee every
- 23:49Speaker 5: play for the rest of the game. Like, at some point, somebody,
- 23:53Speaker 5: one of these first rounders, one of these top ten picks,
- 23:55Speaker 5: one of these hundred million dollar man, somebody upfront needs
- 23:58Speaker 5: to just make a play and end the game with
- 24:00Speaker 5: a sack of strip, fumble something. They can't take the
- 24:03Speaker 5: ball away, they can't close games. And and then just
- 24:07Speaker 5: some of the decision making and now what was ironic
- 24:10Speaker 5: was he Davel was super aggressive, rightfully, so super aggressive
- 24:14Speaker 5: with fourth down the rest of the game. I think
- 24:16Speaker 5: he went for fourth down three or four times. Now
- 24:19Speaker 5: they only got one, but he was super aggressive the
- 24:22Speaker 5: entire game, not settling for field goals. The wind was
- 24:25Speaker 5: a little tricky, so that like forty plus yard field
- 24:27Speaker 5: goals was a little dicey for both sides.
- 24:30Speaker 6: Fourth and goal on the half yard.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Line, Yeah, yeah, you got you gotta go after that,
- 24:36Speaker 2: I mean, I mean that's I'm sure you're seeing in
- 24:38Speaker 2: the broadcast being like, okay, they got to go forward here,
- 24:40Speaker 2: and then you're we were found.
- 24:41Speaker 5: We were adam it, and then the second we said it,
- 24:44Speaker 5: the second they didn't go for it. It just felt
- 24:48Speaker 5: like that was the knockout punch. And again it was
- 24:51Speaker 5: it was Russ's first drive taken over. So Dart got
- 24:54Speaker 5: on the fumble, Dart hit his head and he kind
- 24:57Speaker 5: of got up slow, and then we kind of watched
- 24:59Speaker 5: him go to the side and no one really checked
- 25:02Speaker 5: him out. He kind of waved everyone off, and we
- 25:04Speaker 5: thought he was just disappointed that he fumbled, is why
- 25:06Speaker 5: he got up slow. He came back out, he took
- 25:09Speaker 5: two more plays and then he disappeared into the tent
- 25:12Speaker 5: and we never saw him again. And obviously Russ takes over.
- 25:15Speaker 5: But on the first drive, Russ's drive took him down
- 25:19Speaker 5: to the one yard line. Russ Rush tried to take
- 25:22Speaker 5: it in on third down, he went back to pass,
- 25:24Speaker 5: kind of got caught up in the pocket, took off
- 25:27Speaker 5: ran Hard, got stopped at the one, and then they
- 25:30Speaker 5: kicked the field goal. So the first drive with Russell
- 25:33Speaker 5: Wilson prop was by far their best drive and their
- 25:37Speaker 5: most likely scenario to score a touchdown. And then over
- 25:40Speaker 5: the next six plays following that field goal, they had
- 25:44Speaker 5: six plays for minus two yards.
- 25:47Speaker 6: So it was just it was over.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you were you able to watch the Bills
- 25:52Speaker 2: Dolphins game at all?
- 25:53Speaker 6: I wasn't it was going on the same time as ours.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Because I kind of I put it on and it
- 25:57Speaker 2: was already sixteen zero. It was like right before half.
- 26:00Speaker 2: And then in the third quarter, Josh Allen takes them
- 26:03Speaker 2: all the way down the field throws a pick in
- 26:04Speaker 2: the end zone. I don't know if this is before
- 26:06Speaker 2: or after they do like their version of the Toush push.
- 26:09Speaker 2: He gets like six seven yards, The ball gets popped out,
- 26:11Speaker 2: and it just seemed like every single time the Bills
- 26:14Speaker 2: started to catch a little bit of momentum, the Miami Dolphins,
- 26:17Speaker 2: wo to me, are as good as dead in the
- 26:19Speaker 2: NFL season, Like they just kept stopping them and coming
- 26:22Speaker 2: alive and putting Josh Allen, who is the running MVP,
- 26:25Speaker 2: and the situations where okay, go do MVP things and
- 26:27Speaker 2: he just didn't do it.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it was well and too like once the explosive
- 26:31Speaker 1: pop against the Bills defense, which we've talked about before,
- 26:36Speaker 1: like the running game a chain. Yeah, like when those
- 26:39Speaker 1: explosive play plays happen and you're just Josh Allen on
- 26:42Speaker 1: the sideline, You're just I mean you saw it a
- 26:43Speaker 1: couple of times. Yeah, his body language and him answered
- 26:46Speaker 1: at the podium after the game. It just seems like
- 26:48Speaker 1: a little bit of spark has been taken away from
- 26:51Speaker 1: Josh Allen a little bit. But yeah, I could not
- 26:54Speaker 1: believe the Dolphins beat their ass yesterday, beat.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Their ass, and think of the two weeks that you know,
- 27:00Speaker 5: we talk about Carolina having a letdown, right, we talk
- 27:03Speaker 5: about you're not used to being in that position. You
- 27:05Speaker 5: just have a huge win on the road in Lambeau.
- 27:07Speaker 5: But think of the last couple weeks of the Bills.
- 27:11Speaker 5: They win by forty against the Panthers on the road.
- 27:15Speaker 5: Then they have a huge matchup against the Chiefs where
- 27:17Speaker 5: they really play well and they win against their biggest rival,
- 27:21Speaker 5: like and all of a sudden, it's like, all right,
- 27:22Speaker 5: the Bills are back. Any concern before the bye week,
- 27:25Speaker 5: We're not worried about those two losses. Like, they are back.
- 27:28Speaker 5: And then you said it, the Dolphins were dead. Everybody
- 27:32Speaker 5: was shocked that they didn't make a coaching change after
- 27:35Speaker 5: that Thursday Night debacle a couple of weeks. What was
- 27:37Speaker 5: that last week and the week before. Yeah, so you know,
- 27:40Speaker 5: I give the Dolphins a lot of credit. That is
- 27:43Speaker 5: not easy, man. We've all been on those teams, most guys.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Maybe not everybody, but most guys have been on those
- 27:49Speaker 5: teams where it's just a tough season, it's a lost season,
- 27:52Speaker 5: and it really just comes down to finding out in
- 27:54Speaker 5: the locker room, like who truly is willing to compete
- 27:57Speaker 5: when you're not really in the running for anything and
- 27:59Speaker 5: you're really just playing for pride and you're playing for
- 28:01Speaker 5: all this stuff. People stand at the podium and talk
- 28:04Speaker 5: about but are you really willing to do it? That's
- 28:07Speaker 5: pretty impressive, Like to come out and beat one of
- 28:09Speaker 5: the top the printial, one of the top teams in
- 28:11Speaker 5: the league, a division rival. I give them a lot
- 28:14Speaker 5: of credit, man, because they were in the bullseye. People
- 28:17Speaker 5: were taking shots from all over the place calling for
- 28:19Speaker 5: people's jobs. And tell you what, the NFL is a
- 28:24Speaker 5: funny world, man. It can flip on a dime, especially
- 28:27Speaker 5: this year, because I'm not sure there.
- 28:29Speaker 6: Is a clear cut top dog.
- 28:33Speaker 5: I think we have a group of teams that we
- 28:36Speaker 5: think are the going to pull away. But it is
- 28:38Speaker 5: a very very even league right now. And obviously that's
- 28:43Speaker 5: by design.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah too, like going off of it, like when you're
- 28:45Speaker 1: out of it and being on those teams, it's like
- 28:48Speaker 1: when you're pretty much out of everything, and like the
- 28:50Speaker 1: GM gets fired and movement is happening in the organization.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Like also your schedule kind of changes as a player too,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like you'll do more walk through. It's like coaches start
- 29:01Speaker 1: switching it up because it's like, hey, we're not fined
- 29:03Speaker 1: for nothing. Guys seem a little depleted. Let's take care
- 29:05Speaker 1: of him a little bit more so to show up
- 29:07Speaker 1: and put an ass beating on the Bills like they did.
- 29:09Speaker 1: It is like they're having fun in the locker room.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The team is still fighting, which is you know, hats off,
- 29:14Speaker 1: Hats off to the staff, have hats off to the
- 29:16Speaker 1: players for still like staying in the fight.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just so confusing when we talk about the
- 29:21Speaker 2: Panthers and how they are. They're a little bit above
- 29:23Speaker 2: five hundred. Maybe this group's number one before, so it's
- 29:25Speaker 2: like understandable they go and drop them for the Bills.
- 29:28Speaker 2: It's like, you guys have since Josh Allen's been your quarterback,
- 29:31Speaker 2: you have had success. You've been competing for Super Bowls,
- 29:34Speaker 2: going deep in the playoffs every single year and having
- 29:37Speaker 2: two back to back wins. Obviously, you have to get
- 29:39Speaker 2: up very get up big for your biggest rival like
- 29:41Speaker 2: the Chiefs last week. But there should be no drop off,
- 29:44Speaker 2: like you no, because.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You've had coaches been there forever.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you got Josh Allen, Like, I don't know, I
- 29:50Speaker 2: don't know what to make of that.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, going over.
- 29:53Speaker 5: So it makes this league so hard though, right because everything
- 29:56Speaker 5: we say about the teams that aren't used to winning
- 29:58Speaker 5: having to learn how to sustain the other side of
- 30:00Speaker 5: that coin is human nature of the reason certain organizations
- 30:05Speaker 5: don't have prolonged success, right with the Bills have done,
- 30:08Speaker 5: the Chiefs, the Patriots, some of these teams that have
- 30:10Speaker 5: had long sustained periods of success. That is an absolute
- 30:14Speaker 5: opposition to the way human nature works. It's the opposition
- 30:18Speaker 5: of the way the league is designed. So that's equally challenging, right,
- 30:22Speaker 5: That is an equally hard thing to do to get
- 30:24Speaker 5: up knowing you are everyone's biggest game week after week.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Maybe the roster is a little depleted, maybe the injuries,
- 30:30Speaker 5: maybe you're not as good as you were in the
- 30:31Speaker 5: years past.
- 30:32Speaker 6: But that when people see that Bill's.
- 30:34Speaker 5: Uniform and they see Josh Allen behind center, they just
- 30:36Speaker 5: assume it's the same Bills team we've seen over the
- 30:39Speaker 5: last couple of years, this close to, you know, get
- 30:41Speaker 5: into a Super Bowl. So expectations on either side of
- 30:46Speaker 5: that coin can be crippling.
- 30:48Speaker 1: What do you make in of the AFC North Pittsburgh
- 30:50Speaker 1: Steelers going out to the going out to LA getting
- 30:53Speaker 1: pretty handled by the Chargers and Ravens Now, Ravens are coming.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Ravens are coming, and Ravens are coming.
- 31:02Speaker 6: I think the Ravens win it.
- 31:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, and I know it sounds silly, and
- 31:08Speaker 5: they were left for dead and there was problems, and
- 31:09Speaker 5: the defense was historically bad yet albeit injured, and obviously
- 31:14Speaker 5: Lamar's out and how long is he gonna be out
- 31:15Speaker 5: with the hamstring? And it seemed like the sky is
- 31:18Speaker 5: falling and you look at the and I think everyone
- 31:22Speaker 5: who looked at the division said okay, right. You know,
- 31:24Speaker 5: at the moment, the Steelers were on top. And I
- 31:27Speaker 5: think at times the Steelers had looked really good. And
- 31:29Speaker 5: I think at times Aaron Rodgers has looked like Aaron Rodgers.
- 31:32Speaker 5: And the defense makes I think the defense makes critical
- 31:36Speaker 5: plays more than they are just like an overall good unit.
- 31:39Speaker 5: I think they've spent a gazillion dollars on the defense.
- 31:42Speaker 5: I think on a play by play basis, I don't
- 31:43Speaker 5: think they're particularly great. I think they make incredible splash plays,
- 31:48Speaker 5: right like it's the fourth quarter, you haven't called TJ.
- 31:50Speaker 5: Watts name yet, and then it's stripped sack fumble and
- 31:54Speaker 5: it's like the game is over. So like that's where
- 31:56Speaker 5: they've kind of rested their head and that's where they've
- 31:58Speaker 5: made their money. When they don't get those splash negatives.
- 32:02Speaker 5: I think they're just okay. Last night kind of I'm
- 32:06Speaker 5: with you. They got it, you know, they got taken
- 32:08Speaker 5: to them by by the Chargers. I still think they're solid.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I still think, like most years, the Tomlin led team
- 32:14Speaker 5: is going to be a playoff caliber group. They're going
- 32:16Speaker 5: to find themselves in it somehow, some way. But if
- 32:20Speaker 5: I'm a bet man today, I think a healthy Lamar
- 32:24Speaker 5: and a Baltimore team that's in a tough, bad division,
- 32:29Speaker 5: I think they're the favorite to win it in my
- 32:31Speaker 5: in my mind at least.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, they're minus two seventy on Fandel. They're only one
- 32:35Speaker 2: game back.
- 32:35Speaker 6: Right now, So what does that mean?
- 32:38Speaker 2: Minus two seventy So if you bet, you have to
- 32:41Speaker 2: bet two hundred and seventy dollars to win one hundred dollars,
- 32:44Speaker 2: and so they're they're.
- 32:45Speaker 5: So that means there so they have the that would
- 32:48Speaker 5: be the worst odds.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they're They're the Ravens. Even though they're not leading
- 32:53Speaker 1: the division right now, the sportsbooks saying they're still a
- 32:56Speaker 1: heavy favorite to win the division. So it speaks more
- 32:58Speaker 1: about Pittsburgh not being They're not gonna be able to
- 33:02Speaker 1: hang on. They're gonna be too inconsistent, right.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And Aaron didn't obviously didn't play well, But I don't
- 33:06Speaker 2: understand why your running back Jalen Warren has been playing
- 33:10Speaker 2: so well and it's getting been that get out of
- 33:12Speaker 2: jail free cart in a lot of ways. For your
- 33:13Speaker 2: running game. Last night, you start running Johnson more, who
- 33:17Speaker 2: you know hasn't really been seen since he had that
- 33:19Speaker 2: muffed kickoff return early in the season. It's like, why
- 33:22Speaker 2: why aren't you staying with this guy unless there's an
- 33:24Speaker 2: injury we don't know about. Yeah, because he's like saved
- 33:27Speaker 2: them a lot of ways, like twelve personnel, big guys
- 33:29Speaker 2: we talk about, like the way they run the ball,
- 33:31Speaker 2: like Warren, it does a great job of running the
- 33:32Speaker 2: outside zone and then the perimeter run game as well.
- 33:36Speaker 2: And then as Johnson, he's kind of proven did a
- 33:38Speaker 2: great job at Iowa. It's kind of proven, like he's
- 33:40Speaker 2: he's got to learn a little bit more before we
- 33:42Speaker 2: can see if he's really gonna be successful. Like just
- 33:44Speaker 2: keep doing the same thing. When your defense has a
- 33:47Speaker 2: great game last week and I have to travel across
- 33:49Speaker 2: the country to the West Coast against a really good
- 33:51Speaker 2: defense of Jesse Mentor's Chargers, you just I don't understand
- 33:55Speaker 2: that unless there's an injury we just don't know about. Yeah,
- 33:58Speaker 2: it's frustrating.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Just need Yeah I had him plus three. You had Pittsburgh.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Mine needed it. Yeah, Pittsburgh was underdogs.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah I had him as well. That's that's heartbreaking, dude.
- 34:11Speaker 2: What do you What can you make of JJ McCarthy
- 34:13Speaker 2: for me? Like, there's times he seems like, oh, this
- 34:18Speaker 2: kid really has juice, Like he's got a couple of
- 34:20Speaker 2: third downs, he's putting the ball in a perfect spot
- 34:22Speaker 2: only where the wide receiver can catch. And then other
- 34:24Speaker 2: times he's scrambling. It's third and six and he's got
- 34:27Speaker 2: like twenty yards of open field in front of him,
- 34:30Speaker 2: and he decides, I'm just gonna throw it into double coverage.
- 34:32Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take this play action pass and throw
- 34:34Speaker 2: a deep shot into double coverage as well. Like, I
- 34:38Speaker 2: know you're not a coach, and I hate putting you
- 34:39Speaker 2: on the spot, but like, what do we got going there?
- 34:43Speaker 5: I think he's a young quarterback who hasn't played a
- 34:45Speaker 5: lot of ball, right, I mean you think he lost
- 34:47Speaker 5: his entire rookie year last year to injury, and then
- 34:50Speaker 5: you know, obviously Sam Darnold steps in and has an
- 34:52Speaker 5: amazing season and carries it over. He missed a serious
- 34:56Speaker 5: amount of time this year with the high ankle. You know,
- 34:59Speaker 5: we covered it a couple of those Vikings games where
- 35:01Speaker 5: he was out and limited, and they turned it over
- 35:03Speaker 5: to Carson Wentz. So I think the reality for young
- 35:07Speaker 5: quarterbacks in this league is they need to practice, They
- 35:10Speaker 5: need game reps, they need practice reps. And when you
- 35:12Speaker 5: think since he's come into the league, since he got drafted,
- 35:15Speaker 5: the amount of time forget the games, the amount of
- 35:19Speaker 5: practice reps lost due to injury, it's real. And I
- 35:24Speaker 5: think we've seen quarterbacks that play for Kevin O'Connell in
- 35:27Speaker 5: that system. Going back, we can rattle off five six
- 35:31Speaker 5: guys off the top of our head. Even the year
- 35:33Speaker 5: that Kirk Cousins got knocked out, Kirk Cousins was playing
- 35:36Speaker 5: so good he tears his achilles, and then he rolls
- 35:39Speaker 5: in a bunch of guys that we didn't even know
- 35:41Speaker 5: still were in the league, and.
- 35:42Speaker 6: They just keep winning and winning and playing good ball.
- 35:44Speaker 5: And then obviously what he did last year with Sam
- 35:46Speaker 5: and then even at times before he got banged up,
- 35:48Speaker 5: Carson Wentz played well and then we found out that
- 35:51Speaker 5: he was really dealing with something serious that led to
- 35:53Speaker 5: the decline, So that offense is built for good quarterback play.
- 35:56Speaker 5: I still think JJ McCarthy's very talented. I think he
- 35:59Speaker 5: looked like a young, talented quarterback. I think sometimes he
- 36:03Speaker 5: looks in rhythm. I think he's competitive. I think he's
- 36:05Speaker 5: got a little shit to him, and then I think
- 36:08Speaker 5: at times his head pops off, and I think that's
- 36:10Speaker 5: very common, especially for that style of quarterback. And I
- 36:15Speaker 5: don't think, you know, I think the Drake Mays of
- 36:17Speaker 5: the world and guys that come in and are a
- 36:19Speaker 5: little bit more polished and a little bit more refined
- 36:21Speaker 5: and play within the system, and they're not so you know,
- 36:24Speaker 5: improv run around, scramble. Those guys have a little bit
- 36:27Speaker 5: of a higher floor, just in the sense that you're
- 36:29Speaker 5: not going to get the ebbs and flows and the
- 36:31Speaker 5: chaos right. But sometimes the spectacular that you get from
- 36:35Speaker 5: JJ McCarthy and Caleb Williams when they're spinning in circles
- 36:38Speaker 5: and running around, there's a magic to that. There's a fun,
- 36:42Speaker 5: entertaining aspect. The question is is it's sustainable. And I
- 36:45Speaker 5: think what we know and have seen throughout the league.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Is if you can sprinkle those plays in, great, they're
- 36:51Speaker 5: great like get out of Jail free cards. You can't
- 36:54Speaker 5: rely on that style play in play out. You have
- 36:57Speaker 5: to learn how to play within the confines, understand the agressions,
- 37:00Speaker 5: understand what you're seeing, and play in rhythm. And I
- 37:03Speaker 5: think that's the element right now. That's still a little
- 37:05Speaker 5: bit of a learning curve with Kevin O'Connell up there.
- 37:08Speaker 1: For McCarthy, Yeah, the learning curve I feel like is
- 37:11Speaker 1: the key phrase there, because again it's you got this
- 37:14Speaker 1: young quarterback who just doesn't have the scarring that these
- 37:17Speaker 1: other VET quarterbacks have that Kevin O'Connell's been able to
- 37:19Speaker 1: work with, Like this is kind of the first pick
- 37:22Speaker 1: that he's getting to work with and he hasn't had
- 37:23Speaker 1: a whole lot of reps in the film room, on
- 37:26Speaker 1: the practice field. Just having those QB conversations, I feel
- 37:29Speaker 1: like there is that high level of IQ that you're
- 37:31Speaker 1: going to have when sitting in a room with Kevin
- 37:32Speaker 1: O'Connell breaking down offense. So we're just not going to
- 37:35Speaker 1: be able to grade. People are going to grad JJ McCarthy,
- 37:38Speaker 1: but you're not going to be able to actual to
- 37:40Speaker 1: actually get a feel for him, probably until the middle
- 37:42Speaker 1: of next year, first part of next year, within those
- 37:45Speaker 1: first six games. Yeah yeah, it's to me, it's like, yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 1: it's a rookie quarterback. He's out there. This is his
- 37:52Speaker 1: fourth was it his fourth game? I think fourth fifth game?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Right around there, one of those two right right, yeah,
- 38:00Speaker 2: right now, I'm with you. I just you see so
- 38:02Speaker 2: many flashes that's like, oh, this cake can be special,
- 38:05Speaker 2: and then he just does things You're like, what are
- 38:08Speaker 2: we doing here?
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah? Just think he was talking about head spinning, the
- 38:12Speaker 1: chaos that ensues in certain moments to where you think
- 38:15Speaker 1: you're in control, but not in a way that you
- 38:18Speaker 1: want to have. As like a Poys quarterback who's seen
- 38:20Speaker 1: and played a lot of football, right right, so when
- 38:23Speaker 1: that happens, head goes down, he's going to be trying
- 38:25Speaker 1: to make plays and everything else. Again, very much a
- 38:28Speaker 1: young quarterback who there's just not enough, they're not enough
- 38:31Speaker 1: of a sample sizer body of work to great him hard.
- 38:34Speaker 1: People will because again, you're in professional football, that's.
- 38:37Speaker 2: The j you're a top eleven pick.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, fair. Do we have any more for Greg
- 38:43Speaker 1: before we let him know about this bet, the Boys
- 38:46Speaker 1: parlay that's still aliveing well tonight.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I think that's the biggest key right there before we
- 38:49Speaker 2: let him go.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Greg, you're the man. Thank you for coming on.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Have you kept up with this bet? The boys parlay,
- 38:55Speaker 1: Ricky doubdle hit anytime touchdown, Jamior Gibbs hit anytime touchdown.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Come on, doll hit anytime touchdown. We have one left
- 39:03Speaker 1: to night.
- 39:04Speaker 2: One more Greg, one more Lake.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And it's it's Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown. The Lunch team
- 39:12Speaker 1: coming into.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Green listen, I think tush push is going to be
- 39:15Speaker 5: at the center of attention today. Remember Green Bay amongst
- 39:17Speaker 5: other teams, Green Bay was like front and center trying
- 39:21Speaker 5: to eliminate the play. I mean, if you're Siriani, I
- 39:25Speaker 5: think I'm trying to do it as many times in
- 39:28Speaker 5: lambeau Field as the opportunities present themselves, so they get
- 39:33Speaker 5: inside the three or four yard line. I think we
- 39:35Speaker 5: if it's first and goal inside the five, I think
- 39:37Speaker 5: we're seeing Tush push one.
- 39:40Speaker 6: Tush push two, Tush push three, Tush.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Push four and saying I got four downs to toush
- 39:43Speaker 5: push into the end zone. So of all the guys
- 39:47Speaker 5: you just mentioned I I'm probably I don't want to
- 39:50Speaker 5: jinx it, but like I'm feeling best about that.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Nick Sirianni has a huge opportunity for the ultimate troll,
- 39:57Speaker 2: and that's to start the first play of the game
- 39:58Speaker 2: in a touch push first, past them first and ten
- 40:03Speaker 2: you're on the twenty five.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Gotta respect that under center and.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Just hey, you guys wanted this because it'll go for
- 40:08Speaker 2: four or five on the first place.
- 40:10Speaker 5: I'm on record, especially if they like shifted to it.
- 40:13Speaker 5: You know, just don't like walk out of the huddle
- 40:15Speaker 5: and just run now like that you're gonna run it
- 40:17Speaker 5: like disguise it to some capacity. But I'm on record,
- 40:21Speaker 5: I haven't maybe not quite as much this year, but
- 40:25Speaker 5: didn't it feel like with Kelsey two seasons ago it
- 40:29Speaker 5: was either two or three seasons ago. Now I can't
- 40:31Speaker 5: keep track of it all, but it felt like they
- 40:33Speaker 5: were getting three yards every time they ran a tush push.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Like it wasn't like get a foot and a half,
- 40:39Speaker 5: they were getting like three otes. I thought for a
- 40:41Speaker 5: while there when they had Kelsey and they were really
- 40:43Speaker 5: rolling a couple years ago with the toush push, and
- 40:45Speaker 5: it was new and teams weren't necessarily accustomed to it
- 40:48Speaker 5: at that point. I thought, at the end of the game,
- 40:50Speaker 5: like four minute offense, I thought they could have gotten
- 40:53Speaker 5: first and ten, gotten under center and run four consecutive
- 40:57Speaker 5: Toush pushes at the end of a game to get
- 40:59Speaker 5: a first and take a knee like I thought. I
- 41:01Speaker 5: think they could. I think back then. I don't know
- 41:03Speaker 5: if they can do it anymore, but I thought a
- 41:05Speaker 5: couple of years ago, ten yards and four Toush pushes
- 41:08Speaker 5: I thought was totally reasonable.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love to see that level of petty
- 41:13Speaker 1: from Sirianni.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Would love to see it.
- 41:14Speaker 5: I'm not sure if they're there right now, but yeah,
- 41:17Speaker 5: you gotta win. There would still be great television, wouldn't it.
- 41:22Speaker 5: I'm a huge Toush push I'm a huge Toush Push fan.
- 41:24Speaker 5: I think it's a I think it's brilliant.
- 41:30Speaker 2: You think it's good for football.
- 41:33Speaker 5: I think it's great for the strategy of the game.
- 41:35Speaker 5: I mean, is it the Philadelphia Eagles responsibility to carry
- 41:38Speaker 5: what's good for the NFL on their backs? I don't
- 41:41Speaker 5: think it's their responsibility, Like the optics that I don't
- 41:44Speaker 5: think any of that is any of their issue. I
- 41:47Speaker 5: think it is a play that is highly effective. I
- 41:49Speaker 5: think it's a play that nobody else seems to be
- 41:51Speaker 5: able to get right.
- 41:53Speaker 6: And it is anire.
- 41:54Speaker 5: It is baked into every single decision that they make offensively,
- 41:58Speaker 5: from what they call on third and four to what
- 42:01Speaker 5: they do on first and ten, to what they do
- 42:03Speaker 5: on the plus side of the field, to what they
- 42:05Speaker 5: do in the goal line.
- 42:06Speaker 6: I think there is.
- 42:08Speaker 5: A really deep, highly thought through strategy that the tush
- 42:13Speaker 5: push being in their back pocket for a yard and
- 42:16Speaker 5: a half when you snap the ball at if you
- 42:18Speaker 5: told the league, I have to play first and ten,
- 42:21Speaker 5: but you get to play first and eight, it's a
- 42:25Speaker 5: huge advantage.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I love it until I hate it.
- 42:30Speaker 6: I listen, would I want to be the guard?
- 42:31Speaker 1: What I want?
- 42:32Speaker 5: Would I want my neck broken and dumped on top
- 42:34Speaker 5: of I don't know what? I want to be the
- 42:36Speaker 5: middle linebacker? Get I'm not saying I want to defend it.
- 42:40Speaker 5: But I think if I'm the coach, it's highly productive
- 42:43Speaker 5: and it's a huge part of what they do.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not like A I don't love it like
- 42:48Speaker 2: I think it's amazing, but I hate the idea of
- 42:51Speaker 2: banning the toush push because it's so effective. Like it's like,
- 42:55Speaker 2: that's to me, that's such a ridiculous argument. And it's like,
- 42:58Speaker 2: if you think something's not effective, learn to do it yourself,
- 43:01Speaker 2: or just keep doing it until eventually some DC comes
- 43:04Speaker 2: along that understands how to beat it, and then it's beaten.
- 43:07Speaker 2: But you can't just get rid of a play because
- 43:10Speaker 2: it's good. Yeah, that's that's a crazy argument.
- 43:13Speaker 1: That I love until I hate it comes in when
- 43:16Speaker 1: the officiating gets a little gray, because I think it's
- 43:18Speaker 1: a hard play to officiate, especially it's like a couple
- 43:20Speaker 1: of weeks ago when we saw what was the Burns
- 43:22Speaker 1: kind of ripped the ball out, they called it dead.
- 43:24Speaker 1: It's like, dude, that is he stripped.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Him right, and he's laying on top of five different bodies.
- 43:28Speaker 1: So the controversy for me is more when it's like, uh,
- 43:31Speaker 1: it could be officiated poorly, like when fall starts are
- 43:33Speaker 1: kind of happening, like you know, all that stuff.
- 43:36Speaker 5: But I'm with I guess, I guess the simplest way
- 43:39Speaker 5: to put it is if it was such an easy play,
- 43:41Speaker 5: if it's if it's the ultimate Madden glitch, how come
- 43:44Speaker 5: they're the only team in the league that does it
- 43:46Speaker 5: consistently well.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Right, I know, because when teams try it and they're
- 43:49Speaker 1: bad at it, it's.
- 43:49Speaker 6: Like they've never practiced it.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, what are you guys scatting? Like, what's the
- 43:55Speaker 1: philadelph Eagles doing it?
- 43:56Speaker 5: At least that there's a coaching element, there's a person element.
- 44:00Speaker 5: There's a lot of factors that go into whether or
- 44:03Speaker 5: not that play is realistic for your team or not.
- 44:05Speaker 5: And you know, we can go around a lot of
- 44:08Speaker 5: teams over the last couple of years and say that
- 44:10Speaker 5: they were disproportionately better at something than the rest of
- 44:14Speaker 5: the league. And if the notion was let's get rid
- 44:17Speaker 5: of everyone else's advantages, people would laugh at you.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this would be a fun I don't.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Want Aaron Donald. Aaron Donald is not allowed to be
- 44:25Speaker 5: a three technique and spike into the A gap and
- 44:27Speaker 5: make the guard miss because he's so no one else
- 44:30Speaker 5: can do it as good as him, and he tackles,
- 44:32Speaker 5: and he tackles you for a loss every time.
- 44:34Speaker 2: It's not fair. Get rid of it.
- 44:35Speaker 6: It's not fair.
- 44:37Speaker 2: We don't get an Aaron Donald. How come you guys
- 44:39Speaker 2: get Aaron Donald.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't have Aaron Donald, that's not fair that
- 44:42Speaker 5: you could play a three technique in that capacity. I
- 44:44Speaker 5: can't do it, so we should ban it.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't understand why the Cowboys, the Commanders, or
- 44:49Speaker 2: the Giants haven't tried to contract Jason Kelsey and be like, hey,
- 44:53Speaker 2: teach us, Like, just throw an absolute bag at him,
- 44:56Speaker 2: two million bucks, Jason, come in for a week.
- 44:58Speaker 5: I don't think Kelsey would do it. I think Kelsey's
- 45:00Speaker 5: a loyal Philly guy. I think he's a loyal Philly
- 45:02Speaker 5: guy who's making a lot of money. I don't I
- 45:05Speaker 5: think he is. Like, I think he would go to
- 45:08Speaker 5: his deathbed before he let up any of those in
- 45:11Speaker 5: house secrets of Jeff Stoutlin and those guys holds the keys.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he would need some Saudi money.
- 45:17Speaker 5: Yeah, well, now that's a different album.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Eight figures, nine figures.
- 45:21Speaker 6: Big for one week of work. Big Domb's not letting
- 45:26Speaker 6: that happen.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Big Big Dom would set that out.
- 45:28Speaker 6: Nopele figure that out quick.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Greg.
- 45:30Speaker 1: You're the man, bro, Thank you for man.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Appreciate you, man. Have a go. One'll talk to you soon.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Plus Titans, they hold the number one pick in the
- 45:40Speaker 2: draft right now, do you see him holding onto that
- 45:42Speaker 2: prestigees honor or do you see them letting that slip
- 45:46Speaker 2: away from their from their fingertips.
- 45:49Speaker 4: Are recording just asking me a question.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I think we're doing both.
- 45:53Speaker 3: I would say, I mean prestige.
- 45:55Speaker 8: Sure. Last year we sell back toward to into the
- 45:59Speaker 8: first pick. It was who was the Jets that there
- 46:03Speaker 8: was one team that they won on Week eighteen. I
- 46:06Speaker 8: think it was the Jets. Well, we were going to
- 46:07Speaker 8: have the second pace at the Brown No, I think
- 46:11Speaker 8: it was the Jets. Yeah, they backdoord in the first pick.
- 46:15Speaker 8: They want a crazy game. We got the first pick,
- 46:17Speaker 8: so at least now we know three weeks ahead. Who knows,
- 46:21Speaker 8: we still play the Saints, Jets, could you know, squeak
- 46:24Speaker 8: out a couple more losses?
- 46:25Speaker 6: Who knows?
- 46:26Speaker 4: Maybe we do some dumb shit?
- 46:29Speaker 2: Who dumb shit?
- 46:30Speaker 8: And what at that point in the year where it's
- 46:32Speaker 8: like football doesn't mean as much as it used to.
- 46:34Speaker 2: See Jack Jackson's defeated man in the month of November.
- 46:37Speaker 8: Right now, Yeah, I mean, hopefully some things shake out.
- 46:41Speaker 2: But what would shake out? Because you're saying, hey, we
- 46:45Speaker 2: might do some dumb shit, I'm thinking, do you want
- 46:47Speaker 2: the Titans to lose the rest of their games. For
- 46:49Speaker 2: the one pick, I don't know.
- 46:51Speaker 8: All I can think about is right now in Nashville,
- 46:53Speaker 8: it's thirty four degrees. All the home games following right
- 46:57Speaker 8: now November tenth will most likely be very frigid, and
- 47:02Speaker 8: I'm not looking forward to being in Nissan Stadium in
- 47:06Speaker 8: that weather.
- 47:06Speaker 1: You should be looking forward to who's who in the
- 47:08Speaker 1: zoo When it comes to this fan base, it is
- 47:10Speaker 1: the this is the stretch where you're in your stripes
- 47:13Speaker 1: right here. You want to know who's in the foxhol
- 47:16Speaker 1: with the Tennessee Titans, right And.
- 47:17Speaker 2: We've learned about the foxhole too, like ten people. That's good, dude,
- 47:22Speaker 2: all you need, all you need is ten.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Really eleven football.
- 47:26Speaker 8: But I'm just yeah, I'm at that point where it's
- 47:30Speaker 8: just it's difficult.
- 47:32Speaker 2: You're abysmal year last year. It's tough for the Titans.
- 47:35Speaker 2: That's like, hey, we're gonna get back on track. We'll
- 47:37Speaker 2: figure it out. Callahan new year. Two years in a
- 47:41Speaker 2: row of it going like this, the fan base is gonna.
- 47:45Speaker 8: I think the big positive look at is how much
- 47:48Speaker 8: salary cap that we have and just the cap space,
- 47:51Speaker 8: like that's that's the positive we haven't.
- 47:53Speaker 6: Had that in a long time.
- 47:55Speaker 8: Yeah, so who knows, but yeah, that is. I mean,
- 47:59Speaker 8: by the time it's you know, midway through the spring,
- 48:02Speaker 8: my allegiance is just fully back on. We're winning the
- 48:05Speaker 8: super Bowl. So I do hope that we do something
- 48:08Speaker 8: special with the Cavs face, and I hope they hire
- 48:10Speaker 8: the right guy. Until we've hired the right guy, I
- 48:13Speaker 8: can't really make any decision, and I just kind of
- 48:16Speaker 8: linger in this horrible Titans Tennessee football limbo.
- 48:19Speaker 3: But yeah, you know we're gonna be in Nissan. Tighten up, man, fun.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Show up. We can hit some tier talk. Let's hit
- 48:29Speaker 1: some tier talk. We have a shout out here, mister
- 48:31Speaker 1: James at the mister James eight on X. Anyone going
- 48:35Speaker 1: to talk about how clutch Caleb Williams is when the
- 48:37Speaker 1: game is on the line. Hashtag tier talk. I think
- 48:41Speaker 1: we did, Yeah, we had. We had a great, fun
- 48:44Speaker 1: little breakdown with old Greg there. I'll tell you what,
- 48:47Speaker 1: I am the guy looking in the mirror being like,
- 48:49Speaker 1: how long am I going to continue to kind of
- 48:51Speaker 1: doubt the Chicago Bears, And uh so I pull up
- 48:55Speaker 1: their schedule and I hate them do this, but it's
- 48:58Speaker 1: like all right, Let's try to find some wins. Let's
- 49:01Speaker 1: try to figure out who the Bears have been. Dallas,
- 49:05Speaker 1: the Raiders. Oh these is yeah, this is who they beat.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Dallas split them wide open? That defense? Who has to
- 49:11Speaker 1: split them wide open? They beat the Raiders by one,
- 49:13Speaker 1: Commanders by one. They beat the Saints, They they beat
- 49:19Speaker 1: the Bengals, they beat the Giants.
- 49:23Speaker 2: So I just.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Throwing that out there, because they are six and three.
- 49:27Speaker 1: You gotta give I. I do enjoy watching coach Johnson's
- 49:30Speaker 1: post game speeches in the locker room. Yeah, he's like, hey,
- 49:33Speaker 1: we're here every week, but we ain't apologizing for how
- 49:35Speaker 1: we win. Gives out game balls. I do love his energy.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I love how the locker rooms having a lot of fun.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I think the boys are rallying around the idea that
- 49:42Speaker 1: they are playing meaningful games in November, hopefully December.
- 49:46Speaker 2: And that is what you pulled up. The wins that
- 49:49Speaker 2: they've had as a team, You've ignored that and you
- 49:51Speaker 2: just look at the record and be like, we can
- 49:53Speaker 2: play with anybody, We can play with any We can
- 49:54Speaker 2: play with anyone right now.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Big opportunity. Who who they got next week? They got
- 50:00Speaker 1: the Vikings?
- 50:00Speaker 2: Give me the next three.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Okay, Vikings Division rivalry that'll be in Minnesota.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Can probably see them winning that.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Then they have they host the Steelers.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Okay, you can see them winning that.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Then they go to Philly. But if you go, if
- 50:16Speaker 1: you go two and one, you're again you're sitting there
- 50:19Speaker 1: at eight and four, you're sitting there eight and four,
- 50:21Speaker 1: eight and four ball club playing some meaningful games in December,
- 50:25Speaker 1: which would be the Packers at Green Bay host the Browns, Okay,
- 50:31Speaker 1: then they host the Packers again, then they go out
- 50:36Speaker 1: to San Francisco and play the Niners, and then they
- 50:39Speaker 1: host the Lions.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Eight, nine and eight ball club wild Card. But is
- 50:47Speaker 2: it I don't know if it is in the NFC.
- 50:50Speaker 1: NFC will be tough, I was gonna say, especially yeah,
- 50:54Speaker 1: NFC West, the way that they're playing right now, they
- 50:56Speaker 1: could be looking again three in there.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Yet the Packers are gonna make it, the Lions
- 51:01Speaker 2: are gonna make it, the Eagles are gonna make it.
- 51:04Speaker 1: But we should be able to let Chicago fans have
- 51:06Speaker 1: as much fun as possible.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Have fun because you said in the beginning of the
- 51:08Speaker 2: year you deserve this. We need new Halloween costumes next year.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Can't just be Mike Dicka. It can't just be Mike Dicka.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Get some fingernails painted. Let's let your kids go crazy
- 51:20Speaker 2: out there. Huh So. Yeah, Caleb Williams and is impressive
- 51:23Speaker 2: though how elusive he is and I didn't see like
- 51:27Speaker 2: I didn't see the entire game. I saw bits and pieces,
- 51:29Speaker 2: but his ability to escape the pocket ran out to
- 51:32Speaker 2: the left a couple times, one for a touchdown when
- 51:33Speaker 2: he got down to the one yard line.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Thrown across the body, he is like, he is extremely talented.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Like if you get if Ben Johnson could harness that
- 51:41Speaker 2: energy when Dan Orlofty's talking about the habits and everything
- 51:44Speaker 2: like that, if they can get that done.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Boys, it seems like they're trending that way ten and seven?
- 51:51Speaker 1: Why not? Why not the Chicago Why not you?
- 51:53Speaker 2: There's gotta be an upsetting there somewhere. It'd be good
- 51:58Speaker 2: for football. It would be for football.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Why not the Bears? Here's another tier talk from Adam
- 52:05Speaker 1: Sullivan to hashtag tear talk. Are the days of a
- 52:07Speaker 1: true pocket passer in the NFL? Gone? A set your feet,
- 52:12Speaker 1: get completions or take the sack? QB seems extinct. Not
- 52:15Speaker 1: everyone can be my homes, But it seems like you
- 52:17Speaker 1: have to have some type of mobility anymore to be
- 52:20Speaker 1: consistently productive in today's NFL.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Look at Matthew Stafford, like he's he's got a little
- 52:28Speaker 2: mobility to him. Actually a couple times he got himself
- 52:30Speaker 2: around a little bit. But I mean he's a true
- 52:32Speaker 2: he's a true pocket passer. Jared Goff, true pocket passer.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Like these are guys that are dicing up the league
- 52:37Speaker 2: right now, playing really really good ball. Is it dead? No?
- 52:40Speaker 2: Are we in a you know, we gotta worry about
- 52:42Speaker 2: this animal because it's becoming extinct. We got to think
- 52:45Speaker 2: them to the zoo. Hopefully they can procreate with something else.
- 52:47Speaker 2: That's kind of the world we're living in.
- 52:48Speaker 1: You'll have somebody getting at two of them. You'll have
- 52:51Speaker 1: the traditional list I think always in forever, it's at
- 52:53Speaker 1: most positions. Yeah, but there are these mutants that are
- 52:56Speaker 1: now coming into the league across the board. Right we
- 52:59Speaker 1: were having the breakdown last week. We were talking about
- 53:01Speaker 1: tight ends, this semi positions with backers and tight ends.
- 53:04Speaker 1: You see it a lot with receivers, like you have
- 53:06Speaker 1: to come in being able to block crazy man.
- 53:11Speaker 2: They were like the first iteration of the alien. Yeah,
- 53:14Speaker 2: that was the first alien to step foot on the
- 53:15Speaker 2: grid iron.
- 53:16Speaker 9: I feel like the like Christian ponders of the world
- 53:19Speaker 9: are are over though, Like how there used to be
- 53:22Speaker 9: that middle of the pack QB in the NFL that
- 53:24Speaker 9: was just pocket passers. I feel like they're going to
- 53:27Speaker 9: be extinct.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Yeah, where like.
- 53:28Speaker 9: Everybody every on the right, like Max, Max Jones, those
- 53:33Speaker 9: are like great players. But mac Jones is like we
- 53:36Speaker 9: know ceiling.
- 53:37Speaker 2: Do we do? We know mac Jones the ceiling or
- 53:41Speaker 2: we just now seeing I would say mac Jones or
- 53:45Speaker 2: we just seen the second floor would be.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Would be that leveled up middle of the pack, right exactly.
- 53:51Speaker 1: But you gotta be the best of the best. You're
- 53:52Speaker 1: just gonna sit back there in that pocket.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Sam Darnold, Sammy d that's like he's athletic, but he's not.
- 54:01Speaker 2: He does he's got some urgency, he's.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Got some Yeah.
- 54:05Speaker 7: I would say he's like athletic, as athletic as bow Knicks.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, but no, Sam Donald doesn't have quarterback
- 54:12Speaker 2: design runs in the play, but for him, bow Knicks does.
- 54:15Speaker 6: But he could.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Dog. I don't think. I don't think Sam Donald is
- 54:20Speaker 2: getting other than your hey QB paint once in a while.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I would say if Sam Donald arm shoulders everything else,
- 54:30Speaker 1: if he had the genetic of bow Knicks, he would
- 54:33Speaker 1: not be as successful as bow Knicks were. With the
- 54:36Speaker 1: athletic ability, I'll say if you I'm saying Sammy D,
- 54:40Speaker 1: He's got a much better arm, much better accuracy, much
- 54:42Speaker 1: better arm strength if you gave him bow Knicks's makeup
- 54:46Speaker 1: as far as arm strength and accuracy. Like, but like,
- 54:49Speaker 1: he doesn't have the athletic ability. I'm just saying he
- 54:51Speaker 1: doesn't have the athletic They're not.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I don't think they're in the same category. Knicks is like,
- 54:55Speaker 2: you're he's your first tier. I'm starting a creative player.
- 54:58Speaker 2: He's gonna have a level of ac athleticism. Yeah, but
- 55:01Speaker 2: he's not. I mean he's not Lamar Jackson's Notting Homes
- 55:04Speaker 2: Josh Allen.
- 55:04Speaker 1: I'm saying Sam Darnold is not as athletic as bow Nicks.
- 55:07Speaker 6: Yeah, but who would you rather have? D?
- 55:12Speaker 1: Like Ty Simpson is going to be coming out that urgency,
- 55:15Speaker 1: high ball a pie, yeah, mobility.
- 55:19Speaker 2: And it's going to be a Sammy D compared to
- 55:21Speaker 2: by Simpson is like Ty Simpson is the perfect example
- 55:24Speaker 2: of like the new pocket passing quarterback Yeah, where it's like, yeah,
- 55:28Speaker 2: he's got he can move his legs a little bit,
- 55:29Speaker 2: but like there's no quarterback design runs, being like, we
- 55:32Speaker 2: got to get.
- 55:35Speaker 1: That's a pocket pass Baker.
- 55:37Speaker 7: Where would you where would you categorize Baker gamer?
- 55:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he's he's an elusive he's elusive.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Baker would be like, yeah, pocket quarterbacks like that,
- 55:47Speaker 1: you need to have that ability. Baker's got that.
- 55:49Speaker 2: Baker doesn't have design runs. He's out, he's not a
- 55:51Speaker 2: dual threat.
- 55:52Speaker 7: Like, so, is that what you're saying is that you
- 55:53Speaker 7: need to be you need to have design runs in
- 55:55Speaker 7: order to be athletic.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I think that's where I'm leaning as we're kind of
- 55:58Speaker 2: having like a think tank right now on the bus. Yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 2: there needs to be two to three quarterback design runs.
- 56:05Speaker 2: That's like, oh, the coaching staff believes you can run
- 56:07Speaker 2: like that. Caleb Williams can run like that. Lamar Jackson. Obviously,
- 56:11Speaker 2: Mahomes is a unique one. We're not doing QB design
- 56:14Speaker 2: runs with Mahomes. But he's shown me enough. He's shown
- 56:18Speaker 2: me enough elusivity to get around a little bit. I
- 56:22Speaker 2: like that. Jalen Hurts quarterback design runs, Josh Allen quarterback
- 56:27Speaker 2: design runs. Aaron Rodgers pocket passer, used to be able
- 56:32Speaker 2: to he Drank Malle quarterback design runs. He's got a couple.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Drake May's kind of got it all he can. He
- 56:44Speaker 2: can't fuck you, Drake mayhold the ball up here. You
- 56:47Speaker 2: see did you see the one yesterday? He actually had
- 56:50Speaker 2: the ball up here. The guy was trying to get it.
- 56:52Speaker 2: He had the ball like this, pusted you down and
- 56:55Speaker 2: then threw the ball. So, yeah, Drake May's got it.
- 56:57Speaker 2: He's got the technique in.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Fundamentals's got some cute feet. I wouldn't say he's got
- 57:02Speaker 1: design runs, but he's got cute enough feet to make
- 57:04Speaker 1: a little bit of magic.
- 57:04Speaker 6: But he's more of you're saying.
- 57:07Speaker 7: You're saying Jordan Love sweet.
- 57:09Speaker 1: He's got the sweetest, sweet, sweet sweet feet.
- 57:11Speaker 3: What about Jordan Love?
- 57:12Speaker 2: Completely different player when he's under pressure as opposed to
- 57:15Speaker 2: clean pocket. Is he elusive? I don't know you can
- 57:18Speaker 2: pass your You're bringing up the my man's tweet like, yeah,
- 57:21Speaker 2: Cam Woarre's got running ability to him. Not a quarterback
- 57:26Speaker 2: design run guy though, not a quarterback, but for his
- 57:30Speaker 2: life he can make some magic with Yeah. He gets
- 57:32Speaker 2: out a little bit like he's more elusive than he's like, Okay,
- 57:36Speaker 2: you got your sam Donold's, then your Drake May is
- 57:39Speaker 2: probably a level above that on the elusivity chart. And
- 57:43Speaker 2: then it goes up and up and out. Baker's above,
- 57:46Speaker 2: I would say above Cam.
- 57:48Speaker 1: We might need a graphic for this.
- 57:49Speaker 6: Donald.
- 57:51Speaker 1: We're talking a lot of essentially the meet.
- 57:54Speaker 2: There's thirty two two tears. It's kind of where my
- 57:57Speaker 2: brain is going right now.
- 57:59Speaker 1: The median now of quarterback play is not as much
- 58:02Speaker 1: pocket passer. It is now more having.
- 58:05Speaker 3: Legs out of the starting quarterbacks. Who is the perfect
- 58:08Speaker 3: balance in this in this discussion?
- 58:13Speaker 2: That's a great, great question.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you got Josh Allen, Drake May, Patrick Mahomes, he
- 58:22Speaker 1: would it would be Jalen hurts Man or doesn't turn
- 58:28Speaker 1: it over. He's a good quarterback. But we're talking about
- 58:31Speaker 1: who's the best in this conversation.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Could you imagine Justin Herbert of Eagles, Justin Herbert quarterback, buddy,
- 58:40Speaker 2: perfect quarterback. I love this question. I mean Lamar Jackson's leg,
- 58:46Speaker 2: Lamar's legs.
- 58:47Speaker 6: Baker's ship.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Baker's Baker's moxy.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Okay, uh dude, arm strength I know we kind of
- 58:57Speaker 2: want to lean Josh Allen, but what about Kayleb Williams,
- 59:00Speaker 2: Rock buddy, he can the freaking ball.
- 59:03Speaker 10: I was watching the forty nine Ers game and Caleb
- 59:05Speaker 10: Williams like the difference between his throw and Mac Jones.
- 59:09Speaker 1: No, I love Mac.
- 59:09Speaker 10: Jones, but Caleb can can rip it every time he throws.
- 59:13Speaker 6: Stafford. Stafford can rip it.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Stafford.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you want Stafford's brain, you can. We're putting Stafford's
- 59:22Speaker 2: We're putting Stafford's accuracy.
- 59:24Speaker 7: Stafford's putting it wherever he wants. He doesn't have to look,
- 59:27Speaker 7: and he's just yeah.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I mean Aaron Rodgers, arm bro I mean, obviously he's old,
- 59:32Speaker 1: he's old.
- 59:34Speaker 3: Starters, but we're forgetting Joe Burrow, Like, do not want
- 59:38Speaker 3: his achilles?
- 59:39Speaker 2: Yeah yeaht up waste, not.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Want his legs?
- 59:43Speaker 3: Joe Burrows Yeah yeah, yeah, face.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Hair, Patrick Mahomes playmaking ability? Is that? Is that a category?
- 59:51Speaker 2: Can we put that in there?
- 59:53Speaker 1: Joe Burrow? Joe Burrow's serial killer brain.
- 59:58Speaker 2: Drake May's deep ball or got some good quarterbacks out there?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: We got some good quarterbacks out there.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: No tier talk from Chris Fratelli hashtag tear talk. This
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: is for Taylor as former players, how can you explain
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: the Baker, Danny Dimes, Donald mac jones career resurgence coaching.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: It's gotta be it's yeah, right, it's yeah. Dudes being
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: locked in, dudes being high draft picks, getting knocked off
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: their pedestal, finding a new place, new energy, new way
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: to go about their study, habits, their processes like.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: And not buying into the doubt that kind of creeps
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: in your mind when you are having down moments.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: It shows that these guys that get drafted obviously very
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: high to the worst teams just truly get put in
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: an awful situation, brutal.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Situation, and it takes like a true talent to overcome
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: those brutal situations.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: I mean, you're gonna tell me, I said, you're truly fucked.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: I mean, you're gonna look at me and tell me
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: I'm wrong.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I think, like question if you're a generational guy doesn't matter.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Joe Burrow, Joey b I'm so.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Glad you brought him back in the conversation because I
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: truly forgot about Joe Burrow.
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: Joey Be is the only one to go into a
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: ship franchise and turn it completely around in the last
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: five ten years.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: That's kind of fair.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: It's fair. It's fair face value. It's fair at face value.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: But like Drake May, we'd obviously have to bring up
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: something like it's like, so you're to Manny came in.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: They were brutal, and I said, five to ten years, okay, that.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Was over twenty that was not nice. If you took
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: Joe Burrow and you put them on the Jets turns
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: it around.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: I feel, I mean, they didn't draft, they didn't draft,
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: they didn't draft Jamar Chase. Like Arry, I think the.
- 1:01:55Speaker 10: Jets would be Jets would be kind of nice with Burrow,
- 1:01:58Speaker 10: with that defense, they had some some Quinn and Williams.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Williams gone, and then like if.
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: He was on the Jets, the Jets drafted Zach Wilson.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: He's third on the death chart.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: How sick are you if you're like the Jets, you're
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: the Cardinals Josh Rosen a few years ago.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: I mean Kyler Murray like he like he got he
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: drafted number one overall and like, I mean, they're still
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: kind of ship.
- 1:02:22Speaker 10: Kyler Murray is a good one. Not to steal this
- 1:02:24Speaker 10: tier talk but do you think Kyler Murray will have
- 1:02:26Speaker 10: a resurgence on a new team next year he's not
- 1:02:28Speaker 10: with the Cardinals. Do you think there's a chance that
- 1:02:30Speaker 10: Kyler can become that type of quarterback that needs the
- 1:02:33Speaker 10: chance he goes to Minnesota.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Yeah, he's gotta go. He's gotta everyone. There is to
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: be a line at the door the Rams. Yeah, there
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: needs to be like a seminar and like the Cape
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: the Kevin O'Connell just puts on once a year. It's
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: all like backup quarterbacks. That's how quarterbacks play gets better. Wait, Jets,
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: oh have success. He's got to go to Minnesota first,
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: and then it does matter where he goes.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Didn't know golf won a Super Bowl with the Rams. Yeah,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: he lost, lost to Bowl, went to Super Bowl. He
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: like he was one in that because I feel like
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: turn it around.
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: He turned it around, like he was there. They were
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: kind of bad for a couple of years and then
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: they like once McVeigh got hired, they went and.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just saying, Detroit, you never turned around.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: They still win when sixteen they still sucked. Yeah, that
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: is a great argument for Joe Burrow and how good
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: he is with Stafford at Detroit.
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: I mean, because you can't necessarily say it about Mahomes
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: because they were good with Alex Smith before him. You
- 1:03:35Speaker 7: can kind of say it about Josh Allen like they they.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Josh, Josh Allen's a good one. Yeah, I mean win.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: So your statement kind of just got thrown in the
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: trash two people, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow. Uh,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: we just said Stafford and Jared Goff.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: No, no, no, I think the argument bill playoff team when
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: they draft because Jared Goff they weren't good that McVeigh
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: got there, which is great coaching. So that's that's kind
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: of like the changeing go with there. Jeff's great quarterback.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Would you put Herbert in there?
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: I feel like fringe g Herbert, fringe guy. Hebert is
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: supposed to start his first Gamey Taylor got poked in
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: the lung and that's how he started.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Philip Rivers. They do it on purpose, so they're always
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: pretty salty. Chargers were always pretty salty.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't like an abysmal franchise, Like what are like,
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: what are the worst franchises? The Browns, the Jets. Well,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I see the Giants kind of giants have had success
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: in this century though, No.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Ye, But before that they had.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Watch, they had Shaun Watson, they had a great defense.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: They were competing in the A C South every year Jags,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Trevor Lawrence, je Jade Daniels, Trevor.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Lawrence to Washington is trash this year, man. But even
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: when he's played there.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: They still I feel like w it has the product
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: truly changed at the quarterback position with the Commanders Jayden Daniels,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Marcus Merita. Has the product really changed that much? No,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I don't think I don't think so either. And it's like,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: if you're a Washington fan, you're in hell because this
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: is twenty fifteen twenty sixteen all over again.
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Just defensively, it's fuck.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Gilimoto. Gillamoto has a nice Gilli Moto. Gillimoto has a
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: nice tear. We got a Bears fan right here. How
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: many points per game do you think a head coach
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: is worth?
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Diehard Bears fan here, I'm almost willing to give Ben
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Johnson plus six points. This is a per This is
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: a per team by team basis. See Rabel is like
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: plus three and a half. But I think at this
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: point for Able over Johnson.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: If you have this whole thought process in one tweet,
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Ben Johnson's for sure worth six points. They score on
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: every drug opening drive and that's just your script, your
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: top fifteen.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: What would you say McVeigh is.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: McVay is tough because Stafford?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Yeah, these are so all these but definitely.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Nine. How you going to just playing the Gillia motto game.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: But for Gilly moto? How you giving Ben Johnson six
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: and Brable three and a half. And you're like, but
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I like Rabel.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: That's like me saying the Patriots the best team, but
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I also think are better and Red But I don't know,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: Andy Reid did it with McNabb and stuff in Philly
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: and then with Alex.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: You got to give Andy Reid at least plus eight
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: more than giving double digits Andy Reid more than Braves. Yeah.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I think you look at the historically like their resumes.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, uh cam at Cameron Leech twenty three,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: George Jonathan Taylor deserves MVP if it keeps this up.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I get it's a quarterback award, but this is a historic,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: historic season. Should the NFL move to an MVP and
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: a MVQB award. No, I think we need to get
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: back to who's the best player in the NFL, and
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: right now it's Jonathan Taylor. Without a doubt. He's got
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: Do you have three again?
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: I saw a stat between through ten games last year,
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: Saquon had like I think Jonathan Taylor's had eleven hundred
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: and thirty nine yards. I think through ten games last
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: year had eleven hundred and thirty seven yards. So Jonathan
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: Taylor is ahead of Saque's pace last year.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: And he's got to be way ahead of him in touchdowns,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Like what's he on pace for?
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: He's right now on pace to break the record touchdown wise,
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: I'm not sure. I think he has like fifteen touchdowns
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: this year sixteen, So he's not on.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we start having that conversation.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: He's he's what is he in the fandowadds thirds he
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: moved up from twelve to third after this past weekend.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he is in the MVP race. It's gonna be
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: harder for the run back to keep it up.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Then it is a quarterback the last quarter.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: No kids in the morning, man, kids in the morning,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: the noon. I'm like watching them all.
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: Well, if he if Jonathan Taylor runs for like nineteen
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: hundred yards and like twenty six touchdowns and account has
- 1:08:14Speaker 7: like four or five more receiving touchdowns, so accunts for
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: almost thirty touchdowns. Do you think that's MVP worthy?
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I do.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Would love to see two thousand.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I love you get But again, well, what's the what's
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: the touchdown record for running backs?
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Twenty six?
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: I thought it was twenty seven, twenty eight.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Davian Thomason in two thousand and six had twenty six
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: or twenty eight and he won MVP. I think it's
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: the last running back to win it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: It it truly, it all depends with Drake May and Stafford.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Like Stafford is blowing it up right now.
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: Drake already has more touchdown Stafford has more touchdowns this
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: year already than he did all of last year.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Yeah. What what's he thrown for in the last three games?
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Thirteen stupid? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, he's been having fantasy
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: you should be playing Yeah yeah yeah. And then again,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Drake May. It's like if the Patriots in the year
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: and they're the one seed in the AFC and Drake
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: May continues to play the way he's been playing, with
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: the stat line he has, it's gonna be very hard
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: to not give it to Drake May.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Yeah. That's the problem is like Jonathan Taylor has to
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: do like those types of numbers you're talking about, like
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: two thousand and thirty total touchdowns. Yeah, on a show,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: but he continues to put on a show man continuing awesome,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: like came down to the wire overtime.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:35Speaker 7: Falcons are the most bipolar team.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: In the bipolar man. They Yeah, they are bro they Falcons.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: If you were like a betman, you want to stay
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: away from the Falcons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're on the
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: no bet list.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Away from Miami.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think they're either.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Getting blown out or blowing you out.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you want to stay away from Miami as well.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I'd put them on the note.
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: I feel like even Falcons players like bees On, he's
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: on the no bet list as well.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: What's yeah, what's going on? Dude? I have him and
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: like Algier whatever, dude, who cares? I shouldn't know his name.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Bijon should be starting.
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: He should be playing every single every snap like he was.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: Two touchdowns.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Middle of October, We're sitting on ESPN and Darren Lofsky
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: goes by middle of November, BJ Robbins won't be in
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: the m v P conversation since then. He's on downhill.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: And here's our here's our last tier talk here from
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Jonah conson Jonah K six two on x hashtag teer talk.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Do you think Cleveland Browns fans are the most tortured
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: in franchise history and what would you do to get
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: them to a championship level team? I I don't know
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that last part of the answer. I would say, are
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you the most tortured fans? Like there's some there's some
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: brutal fan bases out there. Machine being with the.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Jets, dude. Last week I was doing the Gillette thing
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: and I went and did a like local Jets podcast,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: and the guy just you could tell there was so
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: much torture behind those eyes, but he was smiling the
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: entire time like he he's like in twenty years when
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: we're good, Like I'm gonna be sitting here like I
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: like people are born into it, which I'm sure they are.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: The Cleveland I would give the edge of the Jets,
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: though Baker Market every year is their year. There's always
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: some sort of glimmer of hope Like this year, it's
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: they've traded away everything, So like twenty twenty six is
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: going to be your year and it's not.
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: What about?
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Uh, I could say I could give the edge to
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Cleveland just because you just because you also live in Cleveland.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I mean it takes a real sicko Cleveland or Jersey
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: to be a diehard Cleveland fan, like a real Cigo. Yeah.
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: But like yeah, I mean you think about those that
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: the quarterbacks that they have gone through. They've gone through
- 1:11:50Speaker 7: like thirty quarterbacks and still and.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: You have Baker Mayfield. Bro, you can just stay with
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield and the way to get a championship. Move
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: the team fresh. Start first at Eyes, you know, Bahama
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: team something, do something different, you know, Key West, San Diego,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: the San Diego be so sick.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: The San Diego Browns. Yeah, doesn't feel right?
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, feel right? I mean you don't have to keep
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: the load of the Browns.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, for real, all right, boys will feel good.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out where they're gonna go.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Utah, send them up to Alaska, give Alaska one of them.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Put them overseas. You know they're talking about expanding overseas.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, move them overseas.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, the London Browns all right, I like it all right, boys,

- 1:15:00Speaker 1: this episode. We're gonna be releasing the NFL. The NFL
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: won shortly after, but we have a we have a
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: huge one this week, a massive Saturday that we just
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: had a and m dominates with.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: The NFL is coming first. Mitch is doing this. That
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: means NFL comes first, and then show.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Okay, the way we're sitting, so.

- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Bed before everybody in the bed. Who's winning that thing? Now?
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Georgia Tech's winn't it? As what's happening? And did Miami
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: find themselves? Now they're gonna have a possibility to jump
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: into the championship.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Game, so they could like this will be for any
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: ACC SI goos out there, But Georgia Tech is eight
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: to one, Virginia gets upset by Wake, Louisville gets upset
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: by Cal. So you have Virginia as a two loss team,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Louisville's a two loss team. It's a two loss team
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: in Miami, all two loss teams. So I think it
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: is safe to say that there will only be one
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: ACC team getting one.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: There will only be one, I know, dude, No, I
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:16:22Speaker 10: If if Georgia Tech is only has one loss and
- 1:16:25Speaker 10: they lose their conference championship game, they might not get eliminated.
- 1:16:28Speaker 10: Because they didn't eliminate SMU last year in the same scenario.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: But that call, that's a great call. They would have
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: to beat Obviously, with them being a one loss or
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: losing the championship, that means they're beating Georgia. They'd have
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: to be george So we need Georgia to take care
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: of business. We need Georgia to take care of business.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Georgia takes care of business only one Accoys. I feel,
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: is this bust a little anti ACC right now? Yes,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: very very Why I'm not pro ok right now? I'm
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: a I'm an independent. I'm just trying to figure out
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: I want to be on and I feel like linesman
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: John and the Sanders, I just want to know where
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I stand.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Here's my breakdown of why it seems like we are
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: now anti ACC. Wasn't before all this chaos started to ensue.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: It's like Miami was supposed to be dominant team old
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: college football season until they did what Miami does. So
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: when they lost too, it's kind of like, oh shit,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: you got Georgia Tech. They were supposed to be dominant.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Who'd they end up losing to Duke not too long ago? Duke,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Who's they beat?
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Duke. That's right, because they're.
- 1:17:25Speaker 7: All Duke just lost a Yukon over the weekend and
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: has been.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: And Duke has just weirdly been his favorite. It's like
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Illinois and other school It's like, what are y'all doing
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: out here.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: In our brains? Because us two sitting up there were
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: more Big Ten then the boys in the back of
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: us SEC. We look at SEC, you look at Big Ten,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: even the Big Twelve to a certain extent, acc to me,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: is just not like as far as depth throughout the
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: entire conference. Clemson was supposed to be a dog this year.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: They weren't. Then Virginia coming out of nowhere. Louisville's a
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: good football team. I will give Louisville credit to me
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: that they've been somebody who been consistent over.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: The football team, playoff, football team, or just good football team.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: If Louisville would have been a one loss team, that's
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: where in my brain, that's where you start to Okay,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: let's see them getting the College Wall playoff. But again,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: acc with all these two loss teams, to me, they're
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: not a conference that's going to have a lot of
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: these two loss conversations that the Big Ten's going to
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: have that, the SEC is going to have that the
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Big twelve can have in a couple scenarios.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: A lot of the ACC teams somehow don't play each
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: other either, That's what says.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that is very odd. That is very odd
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: how that works out that way.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Okay, and the way everybody was talking about again, all
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: the massive implications going on inside of.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: The chance to get three correct one at one point
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: there was four that would be arguing, four that'd be
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: arguing in the ACC.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Around all this chaos talk from the other big games
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: that are going on, say, oh shit, the ACC could
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: really blow up all of college football if they have
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: a lot of the they have like four teams two
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: with one loss, two with two laws. They're all kind
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: of beating each other. How do you keep them out?
- 1:18:58Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: We know what these bad losses over the weekend, these ups.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: We know who they are. We know they are who
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: we thought they were at the beginning of the year.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: So not anti ACC, but just these upsets kind of
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: save college football.
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: Yeah, I think we're more anti ACC because we want
- 1:19:12Speaker 7: to see like more SEC and Big ten teams get
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: in and like with.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: These teams, are you guys, are just you guys are
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: just you're not anti ACC, you're just more Hey, we
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: got to keep the timeline correct. And having four A
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: SEC teams in college playoffs. I think one was invited.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: They said, hey, can I bring somebody? Like you can
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: maybe bring two, but that person wanted to bring two people.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: And we're like, this HiT's get a little fucked up.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: A couple of people bailed out. Now just maybe one
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: person's coming to the playoffs.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: This bus is pro good football teams getting into college.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: For I like, that's it just because they like that,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: just because they have the ACC tie that day, and
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: that's what's unfortunate. But it's like you're seeing these teams
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: and it's like they're not They're not in these conversations
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: with everybody else.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: It's so it's yeah, because what we're looking at possibly
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: four SEC teams correct, possibly four big ten teams. Now
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: that is totally based on Michigan be Ohio State, which
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: last four years, but we know Ohio State's looking like
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: a juggernaut. Michigan still figuring it out. But yeah, Indiana
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: they'll make it, Ohio State will make it. And I'm
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: assuming Organ Washington shit the bed.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, bring a big ten Washington the bed usc US
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: season there, Steal has to play Oregon. They do.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: They still have to play Oregon, and I think one
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: other team that you're like, oh, that's not necessarily a
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: win right there. So you're looking at those three and
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: that if Michigan can beat Ohio State, you gotta let
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Michigan in as well. Michigan wins yeah, well yeah, they're in.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: Michigan controls their destiny. There's an absolute fucking juggernaut at
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: the end of that twelve.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: But hey, if we want it happened last year, If
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: we want big ten chaos, Michigan wins out and USC
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: wins out, but go do then you.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Have USC schedule real quick. If USC is a two
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: loss team, they're getting they're in. They are in.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: It's Oregon who would be a two loss team that
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: could not get in. Michigan could not get in. But
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: as far as Michigan, as far as arguments to get
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: teams in the like, that's where it's like, Okay, we
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: would see some good chaos.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Michigan gets in, Michigan wins out, and you beat the
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: number one team in the country, like you're in, right.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I think that that's that's like a Yeah, that's done right.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: That argument is for sure, they're all. All I'm saying is,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: if you're looking at these two loss teams and only
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: one of them gets in, you can't not look at
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: the head to head with with USC and Michigan.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: They got Iowa. But it's it's it's in l A.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: And I think that's a much different vibe than an
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Iowa say.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Look, it's a tough Iowa football Iowa.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: They travel out to the coast, though, Can those corn
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: fed boys look at the coast for the first time
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: not get distracted?
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Can us see out physical the more physical team.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: They've done it before, right.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: So it's like this Iowa team is a tough football team.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Now you can't sleep on them. Can't sleep on them.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Then you got to Oregon. That'll be the big one
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: that'll be.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: In U C. L A. Which we found out this
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: weekend they've finally been putting their players by the Huskers.
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: TJ.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Latif I tried telling everybody, what is I know, I
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: know we usually we saved Nebraska talk for the end,
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: but what is the conversation surrounding Lincoln? If TJ. Latiff
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: has tho that game he had? Yeah, three more times?
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Is here a quarterback controversy in Lincoln, Nebraska? Did you
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: see the I saw I saw somebody tweet that. I
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: saw you tweet that.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: Did you see Ben Affleck in the corner?
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Did you see?
- 1:22:23Speaker 9: Uh?
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Did you see Sidney Sweeney's interview last week that was
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: going viral Coach McGuire, but her denim coach McGuire, he
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: can hear this. He we're talking about coach ruling the
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Huskers right now? Did you Yeah? Did you see the
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: way Sidney Sweeney answered that pr question last week?
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Until there's a problem I wanna address, I'll if.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I feel like there's something there, you will hear me
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: speak on it. But right now, there's nothing there. With TJ.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Latiff and being the future quarterback of Nebraska, this is
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: one football. He's a freshman, right, and he's a baller.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: But again, this is this is this is not a
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: big enough sample size. If you're gonna get a sample
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: size of TJ. Latif, and this would actually be a conversation,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: you need three or four games of ball before you
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: play like a good defense, because after three or four
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: games you now have tendencies to where it's like, all right,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: they called the game a certain way out there against
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: UCLA four TG latite to be successful and he bowled
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: out and UCLA.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Didn't know what you guys are gonna do? Right, I
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: understand that. Yeah, what the original question was is if TJ.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: Latif plays like that for the next three four games.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, if that becomes an issue, that's when Will Compton
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: will speak on it.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Right now, that's what we'll have the conversation. Let's have
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: the conversation. But coach Rewire, let's get.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Left talking about the Huskers.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: He got a little nervous, got a little nervous.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: He's like I watched Busts with the boys. You're gonna
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: have to give Will about ten to fifteen minutes with
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: the Huskers.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Here's what I love. Coach, Hey, please, just let's give
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: a coach a right of applause real quick for being
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: in here. Big win, big win and tahos uh. We
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: have a lot of coaches on that after big games
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: they get wins and they do a zoom call with
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: us and every coach like Dan lenn he's got the
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: big oh in the back with some wings going off.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: We had who's the coach for Notre Dame who's the
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: coach for Freeman? Freeman, He's got the nice wood. I
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: love the simplicity of your desk right now. Looks like
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: you're sitting at a cubicle. You're keeping the main thing,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the main thing. Well, everybody is like, this team is
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: spending all the money in the world. How does it
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: feel to have college game day in Lubbock, Texas and
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: be able to put on a performance that you guys
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: did against BYU.
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: It was incredible. I wish I would have got to
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: experience it starting Sunday because they started camping out on Sunday.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: There was a there was a party Tuesday night, Wednesday night,
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: Thursday night that I've never seen anything like it. I
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: wanted to be a college kid.
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: You.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: I mean, we got barber's out there, we had two
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: DJ's out there, we had a couple of people doing nails.
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: Thursday night went all that long, I mean in the
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: entire night, So it was pretty incredible. And then having
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: game day here and it just made it even better
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: that Friday night going into Saturday morning.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: You got a seven days of parting to taking place.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: You've got twenty three transfers and everyone transfer portal classes.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Last year everyone's playing like absolute dogs together like they've
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: been they have no other since birth. What's the conversation
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: like with these guys when you're like, hey, listen, I
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: know there's some pretty girls out there right now and
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: they're partying Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday for this game,
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: how do you limit distractions and keep these guys focused
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: on ball? Because we've all been in college, we've all
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: been out there. There's a couple of parties going on.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Nothing says I want to be undisciplined like a Tuesday
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: night party, no doubt.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: A couple of things. One, we embraced it from the standpoint,
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: like it literally you walked out of our front door
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: and the tempts were right there outside of our facility.
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: We connect our facility connects to the stadium and so
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: it was right outside. So like Wednesday practice, we walked
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: through it going down to the stadium to end practice.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: So we embraced it. But the one thing, this is
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: an old team. We like in our advanced scouting, there
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: hasn't been a team yet that is taking as many
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: snaps offensive, defensively and special teams as this team has.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: So this is an old team and they understand man,
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: we talk about it all the time, you know, make
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: it about football, like all the stuff around it. That's
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: the great thing about college football, the pageantry, you know,
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: everything that goes on to get to Saturday. But when
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: that ball is kicked off, we got to make it
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: about football.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: And they did a.
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: Great job of doing it, you know, and really policing themselves.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: Coach, Clearly, the job is not finished. But going into
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: the season, you know, the speculation around Texas Tech and
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: all the guys that you brought in from the portal,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: the talk was you guys brought in a lot of mercenaries.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Is this money and everything else paying these players? Is
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: it actually going to work out? And you were having
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: conversation with Josh Payton everybody else saying that this is
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: as close of a group as you've been around. Clearly,
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: the job is not finished. But now looking at the
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: product that they've put on the field, how proud of you?
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: How proud are you? And not surprised are you of
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: what this football team has accomp accomplished this season?
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: Yeah? First, I love your hat man, that's awesome.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Hey, thank you. We'll get you one. We will ship
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: you one today.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that's cool. You know, I'm extremely proud. I'm proud
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: of the guys that we were able to retain the
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: guys that chose to stay with Baron and Jay Rod
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: Jack Rodriguez and you know, Ben Roberts, Sheridan Wilson, on
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: and on an old koy Ake and I don't want
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: to miss anybody, but I'm proud of those guys because
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: they helped me so much create what it means to
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: be a Red Raider and what are culture's all about.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: And then man, we had such buy in. Well one
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: reason I think we had such buy in, And if
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: you came into this building, you would understand this. There's
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: not one single person, it's on my staff that doesn't
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: believe that the most important thing we have in this
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: building is the player. And they feel it every single day.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: So if you're our head, our head dietitian, your job
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: is to make sure that you're the best in the
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: country at what you do, and you make it all
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: about the player, and it goes on and on from
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: the trainer to the street staff. And we're like that
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: every single day. We don't deviate from what we do,
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: so they have a constant reminder that we care about
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: him at a very high level, and they play like it.
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: And I'm proud because in this world right now, it's
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: all about you know, what have you done for me lately?
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: It's all about me, me, me, and one thing that
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: you've got to do. In a team sport, it's got
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: to be about the team. It's got to be about
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: you know, the greater, greater than yourself. And these guys
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: have really bought into that.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Coach you you brought up one name, Jacob Rodriguez, you
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: guys being in the Big twelve, him being a defensive guy.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: You have things going against you from a national media
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: layscape or national recognition. Why should a guy like Jacob
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Rodriguez being the Heisman conversation? And can you talk but
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: the impact he has as a defensive player on the field.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, And I don't want to. I'm not
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: trying to disrespect anybody. I mean, I just go back
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: and I mean, I'm a football gee, you know, I
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: mean I'm about to when we get off here, I'm
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: literally gonna pull up the brackets of the Texas High
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: School Coaches Association brackets to look through every level of
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: who's playing who, And you know, I just go back,
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: and I think about different people, like whenever Travis won
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: it last year, how could you not give it to Travis.
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: He's the most dominant when you look around college right now,
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: Like I think the Indiana quarterbacks playing, I think that
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: the Ohio State quarterbacks playing at a high level for
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: their positions. I think Jacob rov is, Like, I know
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: there's linebackers out there, like Ohio State's got a linebacker
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: that's playing at a really high level. I just know
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: what my guy does down after down after down, and
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: there's some freaky, freaky stats. It haven't been done by
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: defensive players. Like the dudes punched out seven footballs this year.
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: He had another interception that he tipped it to his cell,
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: and then he recovered a fumble, I mean, and then
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: he had fourteen tackles.
- 1:30:14Speaker 6: I mean.
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: The dude just's he's an absolute machine and he's everything
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: right about college football. The dude slept on his floor
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: as a walk on during the spring semester until I
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: had a scholarship whenever he transferred from Virginia Virginia. So
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: it's it's just like there's so many things. Plus his
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: wife's a badass. He's an army of black Hawks, black
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: Hawks helicopter pilots.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: So shit, ste Dude, that is incredible. Yeah, we need
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: there needs to be.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Like some sort of like ad campaign that takes place
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: for this individual.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: So there there is one there. Because the last time
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: a linebacker has been in the Heisman conversation was Mantitao.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: Man Titayo had about one and thirteen ten. Right now,
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: Jacob Rodriguez is on pace to beat that. He's averaging
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: like eight and a half nine a game. Main Titeo
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: had seven takeaways during his senior season. Coach has mentioned it.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: He's punched out seven balls, he's forced seven fumbles, and
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: he has ten takeaways right now on the season alone.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: So I do think that conversation will start really coming alive.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: But dude, that is incredible. The whole sleeping on the floor,
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: that is awesome.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: You brought up having conversations with players when you're bringing
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: a bunch of these guys in and one Newsworthy type
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: thing was you had a bunch of guys that played
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: for you last year on the defensive line, and then
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: you brought in a bunch of individuals as well. I
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: want to know how that conversation takes place with these
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: guys that play a lot of snaps for you, they're
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: expecting to take the next step, they want to be
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: a starter. They have dreams and aspirations of being in
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: the NFL, and you essentially have to sit there and
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: be like, hey, we're bringing in these guys, You're going
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: to be more of a rotational player. Like, talk to
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: me about those players their ego and how they're able
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: to put it to the side and understand that the
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: team's most important, but also like they're chasing their dreams.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: Is a very unique situation that you have in a
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: world that everybody just wants to get the most money
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: and the most playing time. We had a bunch of
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: cake eaters in college football right now it seems like
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: Texas Tech does not have any of those.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: One.
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: You know, it's probably easier on the defensive side of
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: the ball than on the office side of the ball,
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: because you know, you do rotate a lot of guys,
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: so you're gonna have snaps kind of be broken up.
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: But you know, I think one thing I can tell
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: you is we brought in dudes like and so I
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: think if you're real, if you really understand football and
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: you bring in a Romeo Height and you're sitting there
- 1:32:38Speaker 4: trying to compare yourself to Romelo Height. You find out
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: real quiet quick that you can't compare yourself to that dude.
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: When you bring in a David Bailey and you're like, man,
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: I should be playing over this guy. And then you
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: see David Bailey play it, You're like, you have to
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: like be so delusional that you're not supposed to be
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: behind him. And so I think that helps, Like you
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: gotta be real careful. I remember saving saying it last week.
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: Got to be in the right guys, who got to
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: pay the right guys, and and so I think that's
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: really important. But I do believe talking to these guys
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: too about look, he is only gonna make you a
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: better football player, because one, you're gonna try to play
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: to his level. In two, in the defensive line, you're
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: not supposed to be playing seventy and eighty snaps. You
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: know you're not supposed to be, And so you get
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: some of that taken off your body and you're gonna
- 1:33:31Speaker 4: get to play at a higher level. So they understand that.
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: But that was one thing that was important. It's like
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: I was talking to my GM and I was like, man,
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: when we bring guys in, if they're comparable our guy,
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: then why are we doing it. We got to bring
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: in dudes that are definitely gonna make us better and
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: our players can see that.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: Coach, I know, I listened to your interview with Josh Payton.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: You brought up a couple couple of mentors, a couple
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: guys along the way, and it was a coach woods
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: and coach rule. And so I reached out the coach
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: rule and asked him and told him that I'll be
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: having you on this morning, and he wanted me to
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: bring up your first interview with him at I hop
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: How was that breakfast?
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: Well, I've been We went.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: To about three pots of coffee. You know. It was
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: one of those deals I'll never forget. It was a
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: Sunday morning, and we had to do it on Sunday
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: because he works for me, David Martin. He was playing
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: for a state championship in Oklahoma Friday night, and we
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: had this deal to where whoever lost had to cross
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: the Red River and go watch the other guy play.
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: So I was supposed to interview with Coach Roll on Friday,
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: and I called him. I said, Coach I'll do I'll
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: come back Saturday morning. I'll do whatever I said, But
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: I can't watch my buddy not play for the state championship.
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: And so he won his first state championship. Came back
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: to Texas and met with coach in Hillsborough and I
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: hop and my wife, whenever I was leaving, she goes,
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: you know you're never gonna leave.
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: Why are you.
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: Going to talk to this guy? And I said, man,
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: there's just something about him and I got to find
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: out what it is. And whenever I walked out at
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: the meeting here, I called Debbie and I said, hey,
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: if he offers us a job of going to favor
- 1:35:14Speaker 4: and the thing that he talked about is how much
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: he pour and he does and everything he said he
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: does he pours into players. I believe in that. I
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: believe in making these guys men that they're supposed to become, and.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: He does that.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: He is a tough guy. His teams are physical. I
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: believe in that.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: And so we just hit it off.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: And I tell everybody this, if I hadn't have been
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: hired by Matt Rule, because I was probably going to
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: go to college, I had the opportunity, but that was
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: my son's senior year and everything was going to change.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: I wouldn't be at Texas Tech without Matt Role, and
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: the reason is because he has no ego when it
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: comes to pour an end of coaches. And I walked
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: by his office one day day and he said get
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: in here. This is like three to four weeks into
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: the job, and he goes, hey, man, you're supposed to
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: be a head coach. I've been a head coach fourteen years.
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: And I was like, you know, I like to think
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: that I should be. He goes, no, no, no, you're
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: supposed to be a head coach at this level. Let
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: me show you what you don't know. And it was
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: roster management. It was about recruiting. It was about graduating
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: players early, letting them start their masters when they still
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: had two years left in the program. Like just stuff
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: like that that you know as a high school coach
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: I didn't have to deal with.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: That is awesome. That is awesome. He also said, you
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: loved wearing a jacket in mornings in case they made
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: the coaches run.
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: Well, let me tell you it was. It was pretty
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: cold one morning and I should have known by his reaction.
- 1:36:44Speaker 6: So i' mean we're going to.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: The indoor to do our fourth quarter. And it's in February,
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: and I've got shorts on, and I said, how's it going, coach,
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: And he goes, not good. He was pissed off about
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: something and I should have turned around and got some clothes.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: Well I didn't, and instead of doing the fourth quarter
- 1:37:01Speaker 4: and in or we did the fourth quarter and in
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: the frost and helped the football field and I froze
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: my tailloff and being on it didn't matter what the
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: weather was like. I dressed warm for those early mornings
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: because I didn't know what kind of mood it was
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: going to be in. And I make sure my taillof
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: I love that.
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: While you were telling those amazing stories, I was handed
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: a note by one of our producers. Texas Tech has
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: never won a Big twelve championship. And I don't say
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: that to rub it in. I said, because you're a
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: staring down the barrel of an opportunity here to bring
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: home the first Big Big twelve championship to Texas Tech.
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes is at the game this past weekend. He's
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: talking about, you know, when I was here, we didn't
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: really have this kind of environment. It's so amazing to
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: see love of Texas like acting like this crazy. They're
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: they're they're camping out seven five, six days before. Now
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: you have an opportunity to do something that Texas Tech
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: has never done. You have a massive game with college
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: game be there. Now, you got UCF coming in. How
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: do you keep the train and keep these guys all
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: focused knowing that you're have the opportunity to do something
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: that's never been done before at that College'll.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: Go back to the coach rule, you know, his big
- 1:38:10Speaker 4: motto is what's next?
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: And I walked into the locker room. I was one
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: of the first guys in the locker room after the
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: game and Jake Brodriguez I think it was the first
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: player in the game. And I came over and gave
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: him a hug and said how proud I was of him,
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: and he goes, Coach, I just want to remind you
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: this wasn't our goal and we got more in front
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: of us. He said, let's be happy, but what's next?
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: And I was like, man, here's a player saying that.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: He said it to the guys in the weight room
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: yesterday during our lyft before our team meeting. You know,
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: we understood what a year this was. You know how
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: big of a year this was going to be because
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: we can eliminate so many excuses and things that people
- 1:38:47Speaker 4: use against us in recruiting. You know, we we have
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: the best facility in the country. I mean, it's absolutely incredible,
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: and so whenever people say we got better facilities now
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: they don't. We share at the highest level when it
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: comes to the revenue sharing. So it's not the money.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: You know. The thing that people can use against us
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: is we've never won the Big twelve. So that's that's
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: the next box we're trying to check off. So now
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: we have no excuse to you know, compete for it.
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: You're in and year out.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: Coach Man. We're rooting for you the rest of the way, bro,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: Thank you for taking time out of your morning to
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: join busting with the boys. Good luck. The rest of
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: the way, we will be rooting for you, and we
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: will be you know, as a linebacker, I'll be helping
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: try and carry the torch to get Jacob Rodriguez in
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: more of this national conversation. But thank you, thank you man.
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: I'm a big fan of you guys.
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: I freaking love it. I love what you do for
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: college football and really appreciate having me on.
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Man, we gotta get out there. We gotta get out there.
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: Yeah, gotta go out there. If this is an invite, I'm.
- 1:39:45Speaker 4: Telling you I'll take care of you. Had the best
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: steak you've ever had.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Man, we gotta go. We gotta go to an I Hop.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: We gotta have breakfast at I Hop, three pots of coffee,
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: and then we'll finish it off with the best think
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: we've ever had. We're gonna get your address. We're gonna
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: send you a bunch of dad. Which girl are you?
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: You're obviously a father. How many kids do you have.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: I've got two kids. My daughter is a Red Raider,
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: she's a fashion designer in Manhattan, New York. And my
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: son actually coached for coach Rule at Carolina Panthers at
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: Nebraska and now he's my running back coach.
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: So keep it in the house, man, I love him.
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: That's amazing. We'll get you some dad merch. We're looking
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: forward to seeing you during spring balls. Give coach went
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: one more round of a pause. Thank you, coach. Think
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: you've been taking the time man, Yes, sir, Indiana Penn
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: State people would keep forgetting that Penn State's got a
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: top twenty five roster, and they showed. They showed Indiana
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: that right to the end, man, what a throw and catch?
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: Who is the wide receiver they caught that ball?
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Cooper, Dude, Cooper, unbelievable. And that Fernando Mendoza kid, he
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: is just do that final drive unreal awesome to see
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: the way he was spinning the catches that these receivers
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: are making, like only in spots that they could catch
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: him starting off and getting sacked to start the drive
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: was kind of like, oh shit, Like Penn State might
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: upset this Indiana team. Everybody's gonna be waiting to say
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: overrated all of this stuff you kind of see because
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: it's the.
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: Worst team for it to happen to. Yeah, yeah, if
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: Ohio State got upset by by Penn State, would be
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: the whole conversation will be around, Well, that's a good roster.
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: Those guys are all you know, James Franklin's gone blah
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: blah blah. Indiana loses, It's like they are who we
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: thought they were. Yeah, yeah, people are begging Indiana to suck.
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: You think, so what Gi Sa Guigo's They still might
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: be who we thought they.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Were, they could be, like, that's gonna be the first
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: thing if they drop a game, if they you know,
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: college will playoff. Let's say their ranked in the top four,
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: because that's where they're trending right now. We'll actually get
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: to watch them against Ohio State most likely in the
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: Big Ten Championship, so we will get to see. But
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: I just think, like for Fernando Mendoza, the whole Heisman
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: campaign and everything else, like there are moments that guys
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: are gonna have to have, and I feel like he
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: got to have a Heisman moment on that final drive,
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: like this dude was spinning the rock. But they very
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: well could be, like they could get their ass beat
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: like they did last year in the college wool will playoff.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they got to walk through for the rest of
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: their season. They Wisconsin and Purdue. Matt Matt put it
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: on what's that Wisconsin? That's a good that's a good
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: Washington football team. What do you argue the best quarterback,
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: running back, receiver trio and all the Big Ten?
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: What do you got jp?
- 1:42:18Speaker 9: Matt put it on our radar this morning. One of
- 1:42:21Speaker 9: the Indiana receivers is from father Ian. He had seven
- 1:42:23Speaker 9: catches yesterday for like one hundred and thirty yards.
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: Is this the same kid who was like his career
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: he had seven catches and just in this game alone,
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: he doubled his career catches. Probably because I saw a
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: stat line. I don't remember who exactly it was, but
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: it was like seven catches, one hundred and thirty something.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Nashville guys dominating college football.
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: Dude, boys man love to see it.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: What what are your guys' thoughts on the Fernando Mendoza
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: Julian saying Heisman race Heisman conversation. I'm fired up about
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: learning more about Jacob Rodriguez. You see names getting thrown around,
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith, Jeremiah love, Ty Simpson in the conversation, Emmitt
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Johnson getting in the conversation.
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: Hneyards rushing, hun yards receiving in a game this year.
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to say he's the first guy in
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: the history for Nebraska to really I know somebody was
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: kind of trying to fact check it, like, I don't
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: know if that's confirmed. That's what was. You're even Rex
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: didn't receive, He didn't play receiver as much as a mirror.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: But yeah, bro, Emma Johnson's flat out bawling, like the
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: dude should be absolutely an All American for him to
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: have what does he have? He leads the country. I
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: believe in all purpose he's one or two. He's one
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: or two. He's second in rushing, second in rushing. Fourteen
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: touchdowns he said, two twenty and three touchdowns this past
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: game against UCLA. He's a baller bro he's balling. But
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: to bring it back, like, what are your guys thoughts
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: on the conversation, I was going back and forth with
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: some Ohio State fans. I'm doing my best about yo.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Julian Saying is a stud. I believe he's a stud.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: The only the only game I've been able to watch
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: of Ohio State that like I really would tune into
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: was the Penn State game last week and then when
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: they played Washington, And it's like, Julian Saying is a
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: good football player. He throw, he gets the ball out quick,
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: he makes great decisions when he gets in a pinch,
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: he uses his legs, his limited athletic ability to get
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: him the first down to move the chains. They don't
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: have like the best run game in the in the
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: entire world. But my question is, is Julian Saying that
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: good or does he have the two best wide receivers
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: in college football and for that reason he is that good.
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: I'm sure there's some sort of combination of the two.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: And being a Michigan guy, I don't want to like
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: disrespect the kid, because I do think he's balling out
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: right now, but there is something to be said about,
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: you know, Jeremiah Smith and was it Cardinell.
- 1:44:39Speaker 7: Take Carnell tell you, I think he does definitely have
- 1:44:41Speaker 7: freaks around him. I mean, he's it looks like he's
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: the Him and Mendoz are tied at plus one sixty
- 1:44:47Speaker 7: five when the FANDUL sports book at for odds, and.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: The next one's Ty Simpson at plus five hundred, So
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: right now it's a two man race.
- 1:44:53Speaker 7: I mean, I think Marcel Reid, with who he's like,
- 1:44:56Speaker 7: the teams that he's playing, and how he's like played,
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: I think he should be higher up. But I think
- 1:45:02Speaker 7: like if Fernando Mendoza wins it, I think it's kind
- 1:45:04Speaker 7: of like a boring Heisman Trophy winner because he hasn't
- 1:45:07Speaker 7: like he doesn't really make flashy plays. He just doesn't
- 1:45:09Speaker 7: necessarily make them. Those mistakes. Niniana hasn't necessarily played anybody
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: other than Oregon, and I don't think if I remember correctly,
- 1:45:15Speaker 7: he played all that well. Like neither of them have
- 1:45:19Speaker 7: really had like a oh, that's like their Heisman moment,
- 1:45:22Speaker 7: that's their Heisman game. Like I think Jeremiah Love he's
- 1:45:26Speaker 7: a stud and I mean what he put he had
- 1:45:28Speaker 7: like six touchdowns in one.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: Game or whatever it was.
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember somebody said he would be the Heisman.
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: I forget who it was.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: For me.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: It's just like the comparable that I was diving into
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: was being surrounded by freaks. People brought up Joe Burrow
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, well Joe Burrow threw for like
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: over six thousand yards or like around six thousand yards
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: and what sixty touchdowns. Yeah, and he goes on He's,
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: you know, undefeated season, He's beaten teams Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia,
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: like the schedule that Ohio States had. If Julian Saying
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: is surrounded by these freaks because like their run game
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: has been what it's been in the past at Ohio State,
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: like Julian Saying, like they would be dominating teams and
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: he would his stat line would be far and above
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: anybody else's and since it's comparable with Fernando Mendoza, Mendoza
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: having like a Heisman moment that people got to kind
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: of witness on the stage against Penn State when Penn
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: State was about to upset them. I just think it's like, Yo,
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: Bernando Mendoza's has done more with lay with way less
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: as he's kind of come onto the scene.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: I agree with that, but also like Ohio State, you
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: can tell the trust they have and Julian standing because
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: they their run game is not as good, but they
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: do not want to run the ball. They want to
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: throw the ball. And so the kid's been putting the
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: ball in the right spot very rarely, as there are
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: a lot of like dbs drenched around these wide receivers,
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: but he's still like he throws a great deep ball,
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: puts it right in the bucket. I mean, these guys
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: going across the field like there's no one around, but
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: he's putting it right on the chest to the wide receivers. Yeah,
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: there's a level of like this kid has a lot
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: of talent. Obviously, I think he has. If I were
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: to give it to somebody right now, it would be
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Fernando Mendoza, for the reasons you said, like he's doing
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: he's got less players around him. I think it'd be
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: sick if Indiana got themselves a Heisman winner Ohio State.
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: How many do they have, like five or six something
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: like that.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I just feel like usually in college football there's
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: somebody who's just dominating the statu sheet. And if somebody
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: is gonna be doing it, it would be Julian Insane
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: right now. And it's just not dominant the way that
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: you would typically see one of these Beast quarterbacks, especially
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: when you're surrounded by aliens, like dominating the scene all
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: season long.
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: I do like the Marshall Reider. I like the Marshall
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: read like he is a fucking baller.
- 1:47:31Speaker 7: Really insane. I think as like an eighty percent completion percentage,
- 1:47:33Speaker 7: which is kind of insane.
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: Throws a good d ball, but again it's just like
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: he has studs, so it studs.
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: You can literally just throw it.
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: Up in it two top five picks.
- 1:47:46Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I agree, Like you throw you throw a
- 1:47:49Speaker 7: ball up to Carnel Tait and Jeremiah Smith, like a
- 1:47:51Speaker 7: fifty fifty ball.
- 1:47:52Speaker 6: It's fifty.
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like eighty twenty.
- 1:47:53Speaker 7: Yeah, like those those guys are insane. Shout out Ryan
- 1:47:56Speaker 7: Hartline for recruiting.
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: The stat dominators.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Supposed to be Leonora Sellers, DJ Lagway. He got benched
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: over the weekend. Meyer, he was not got benched.
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: What a weird year it's been for quarterbacks. Yeah, like
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: it was a kid club Nick. He was supposed to
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: be something special. Yeah, and I haven't really heard about
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: him at all since who they lose to you early
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: in the year l s U but somebody else. Yeah,
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: but this the second loss, when we're like, okay, Clemson's frauds,
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: it was like kid's been Like now out of the conversation,
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: Nut Meyer, he's got no bleak. He doesn't have a bleak.
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: Now he's like benched. It's crazy. Diego Pavia, that was
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: a fun conversation for a week. Now he's seventeenth. He
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: went off. But I feel like that that conversation's kind
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: of like gone away.
- 1:48:46Speaker 6: Is up there?
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: Yeah, seventeen quarterbacks.
- 1:48:50Speaker 10: Okay, I was going I was going to say, I
- 1:48:52Speaker 10: still think Diego Pobby has a real shot to win
- 1:48:54Speaker 10: the Heisman if they went out beat Tennessee get into
- 1:48:57Speaker 10: college football playoff.
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: I think Poppy has got a real shot to.
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: Win, especially when you get the pavia moments going like yeah,
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: if they if they win out and he's got the
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: Paviat moments, he'll very much be in that conversation.
- 1:49:06Speaker 10: He'll have his Heisman moment if they beat Tennessee when
- 1:49:10Speaker 10: those other guys don't really have a Heisman moment yet,
- 1:49:12Speaker 10: but they will play the conference championship against each other.
- 1:49:14Speaker 10: Mendoza and saying four technically the big ten and the Heisman.
- 1:49:18Speaker 10: Did I say when I'm taking Vanderbilt money Line versus Tennessee?
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: Letting it be known right now, Jack, how'd your Florida
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: Gators do?
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: This week?
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: We're focused on the next head coach. It was the
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: worst loss in school history.
- 1:49:35Speaker 10: To quote Josh Pat, they watched the games in black
- 1:49:37Speaker 10: and white since the last time Florida was beat that bad.
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: But Brian stock Low, Hey, Brian Stocklow.
- 1:49:43Speaker 10: Lane Kiffin will be the next head coach of the
- 1:49:44Speaker 10: Florida Gators and Vanderbilt money Line.
- 1:49:50Speaker 6: I mean, I don't care what Clump has to say.
- 1:49:53Speaker 8: His opinion to me is truly that of like a
- 1:49:56Speaker 8: teenager who doesn't know what breakfast heial he wants to eat.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: You really rounded that out, Jack, because I saw you
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: like thinking through that insult.
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm not at this point, Tennessee season's over. I mean,
- 1:50:12Speaker 8: I'm just stoked for Vanny to come in to kneeling
- 1:50:14Speaker 8: and hear that noise. It's gonna be loud as hell.
- 1:50:16Speaker 8: People hate Diego, Pavia, Knoxville. It's gonna be loud. And
- 1:50:20Speaker 8: I'm not saying it's gonna be easy. But Clump texted
- 1:50:22Speaker 8: our social group me while I was away for a
- 1:50:24Speaker 8: wedding this weekend. It was the only text I even
- 1:50:26Speaker 8: looked at, and it was Tennessee is gonna lose to
- 1:50:29Speaker 8: Florida and Vanderbilt.
- 1:50:31Speaker 6: And I knew he was just saying it.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: No, no, there's context, the context.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: I don't want to be.
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: I don't want to be on the camera.
- 1:50:41Speaker 10: Porter posted, uh, Tennessee has a real chance to make
- 1:50:45Speaker 10: the playoff, and I said, there's no shot Tennessee can
- 1:50:47Speaker 10: make the playoff.
- 1:50:48Speaker 6: That's what the discussion was.
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: Got you got you we do?
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: Mitch brought it up Marcel Reed Garrett before we came on.
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: He was kind of saying that Texas A and M
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: should be the number one of the team in the country.
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: My question to you guys, why.
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: I mean you're talking about like beating teams bad. I
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: feel like A and M is beating teams bad. They
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: beat the ship out of.
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: Missou closer for a sec? What's that close for a second?
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Okay, second third string quarterback?
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: I mean okay, but like, but you're talking about like
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: Ohio State should be blowing people out. They're not really
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: blowing people out.
- 1:51:25Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: They also had a close game against Penn State, whose garbage.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: Penn State's not going Okay, So who is who is
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: A and M beat outside of Notre Dame? What do
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: you mean who's A and M beat outside of Notre Dame.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: I'm looking at Auburn. They're not good. Florida is trash.
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: Arkansas they beat Arkansas by three points. They beat Notre Dame. Yeah,
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: I sit outside of Notre Dame.
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: Who's there?
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: Who's their best one? They beat Notre Dame by one? Yes,
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: But so is Ohio State.
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just telling you my side of the argument.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: I think that what they're doing is proving more than
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: what Ohio State in Indiana's prove.
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: I love how Will asked a question. I'm going, here's
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: your kids have to say? Who the fuck did they
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: played dunk team.
- 1:52:05Speaker 6: I don't see nobody. Here's who they're going again.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: Here's what happens. People latch onto the Penn State. Penn
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: State's a bad football team, like still arguably an incredible roster,
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: which a lot of these SEC teams have, and they
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: still end up like laying eggs. Like these teams that
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I'm I'm mentioning are like not good. Okay, so people
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: talk about Ohio State's schedule, Indiana's schedule. It's like, okay, well,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: what do you compare?
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Would you compare Penn State's roster in Florida's roster like
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: in that type of argument.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think all these teams are right
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: off in the SEC at one point time, it's like
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: this could be a good team because they have good rosters.
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: So what was the score for the Penn State Indiana
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: game right now?
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: They one score?
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeahaha.
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: If you're going to compare rosters that way, A and
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: M beat Florida thirty four to seventeen.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: They also beat Arkansas by three points. Okay, they almost
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: got upset by Arkansas.
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: Like this conversation will will hear the same thing is
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: I have one belief and you have.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: The other well, because again, yeah, I'm setting I was
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: like setting that up because I'm like excited to have
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: this argument because everybody, everybody want to say a.
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: Thirty one they're putting up. They beat Notre Dame forty
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: one to forty.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: At Notre Dame in the year Notre Dame done fumble this.
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: Same points and am should have lost that game. There's
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: a massive holding on fourth down too, say it again.
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think that they are beating teams at
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: a larger margin than some of these other undefeated teams.
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: I think Ohio State matches up real well against Texas.
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: It'll be a great game.
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it would be a fantastic game. I don't think
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: you can take away Texas at one just because they're
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: quietly beating everybody. And I think they're covering too Texas
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: at A and M. No, I'm sorry, Ohio State. You
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: can't take Ohio State at away at one because they're
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: just like they beat Texas, which is like their biggest win.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: Texas has come back in big way, but that wasn't
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: the team they played a week one. They've just quietly
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: been doing their thing like their schedule is their schedule.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: But they're beating teams, they're covering against teams and they
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: never seen it. Like they just seem very complete and
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: they're like onto the next like they seem like they're
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: stacking blocks as opposed to yea, you know the other
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: really good teams where it's like, oh shit, are.
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: They Nobody has scored over sixteen points against ohioste.
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: Right, which hasn't happened since twenty thirteen or twenty twenty three.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Fourteen pencety put up fourteen, Perdue put up ten, Wisconsin zero,
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Illinois sixteen, Minnesota three, Washington six.
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: What are their points? What are Ohio State's points in
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: those games?
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: Hostate?
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: I think so here, I'll rattle it off because they
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: haven't outside of Ohas State vers Text where they won
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: fourteen seven, it's been seventy nothing, thirty seven nine, twenty
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: four to six, forty two to three, thirty four to sixteen,
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: thirty four to nothing, thirty eight to fourteen, thirty four
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: to ten.
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, they are those teams. They are
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: the most complete team in college football right now. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: seventy And you.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: Want to know something, I'd love to see him trip
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: up in the college payoffs.
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: Whoa buddy, I'm letting you know. This is November twenty ninth.
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, perfect game, like running the ball like they
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: if there's one thing in their defense does not do
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: extraordinarily well, it's protecting the run. And I'm telling you,
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: if we can get Brian Harley, because I have so
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: much respect for Brian Hartline like him as an OC,
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: He's obviously do an incredible job this year. Him as
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: a recruiter with the wide receivers, like Ohio State is
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: wide receiver. You know, people want to talk about USU
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: and all that. It's like you look at recency biased,
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: all of the best wide receivers in the NFL are
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: Ohio State guys. He has done amazing. He's got two
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: top five probably two top five top ten picks at
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: the wide receiver position. Julian stand is playing incredible. But
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: I'm just telling you, dude. And Arbor Michigan November twenty ninth,
- 1:56:07Speaker 2: it's it's this is the same two teams as last year,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: but Michigan is just a little bit better. Michigan at
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: this point last year was five and four. We're seven
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: to two. We I think we're gonna stream it.
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: Hey all to say, love, arguing, love all. That's what
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: makes this sport insane. I would love to see Ohio
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: State trip up against Michigan. I'd love to see Indiana
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: go undefeated in the Big Ten championship. I'd love to
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: see Ohio State whoop Indiana to where all the conversations
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: against the Big Ten. Maybe A and M goes undefeated.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: May A and M makes it goes all the way
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: to the championship, and then they just somehow lose to
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: a rematch versus Notre Dame. Then the Independence School, the
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: Independent School, Notre Dame takes everybody down to where you know,
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: the SEC hasn't the Big Ten. You know they played nobody.
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: Ohill State lost to Michigan. Dude, oh I'll State blew
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: out Indiana. We know Indiana was overrated there, nobody's now
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: we're in the college football.
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: Meanwhile, me while we're sitting here talking about two conferences,
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: the Big Ten and the SEC, Texas Tech Joy McGwire, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: we could just be sitting and be like, hey, SEC's matter,
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: no Big techs man and Texas chech just fucking runs
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: through people. In the month of January, Texas Tech Notre
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: Dame in the championship.
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: Big twelve in Texas Tech. That's the winner.
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: I would love to see that.
- 1:57:23Speaker 7: Texas defense is real, nasty, bro. I think they're like
- 1:57:27Speaker 7: top three, top five and like points liber game I think.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: And last year, Bro, they were like in the one twenties.
- 1:57:34Speaker 6: They're unreal.
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: I love and they're getting on the bus right too.
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: They're gonna keep really because I love the idea of
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Texas Tech just.
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: Winnings in the best spot right watching Chaos and two, yeah.
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: The best spot. And also Buddy like just to bring
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: it back to the Big Ten a little bit. Everyone
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: and their mother has been like Oregon, we're done with them.
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: Since they lost Indiana. Everyone's kind of like, ah, you know,
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: we'll see if they get in the playoff, see if
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: they don't. Like maybe Dan Lanny has us exactly where
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: he wants us, because last year they're flying high, right,
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: they beat the brakes off of Penn State. The Big
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: Ten championship is really just a shootout. But you know
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Everyone's like, this is the team this
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, a pissed off Ohio
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: State team just comes and runs through everybody but the Ducks.
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: Baby I'm the Ducks and also the Dogs bringing the
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: go back to the SEC. Dogs don't care about your feelings.
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: They really don't. And they just are quietly winning games
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: and being a top five team and like kind of
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: covering they covered this past weekend then not covering. But
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: it's like Kirby Smart does not give a shit He's
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: gonna be in the SEC Championship against Alabama. Oh fuck,
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: you're right. I just keep forgetting about A and M.
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: Did you watch the Oregon Iowa?
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I watched. I watched the second half of it.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: I was at David Busters with five kids by myself.
- 1:58:50Speaker 6: Iowa.
- 1:58:51Speaker 7: I think I think Iowa has it was awesome. Iowa
- 1:58:54Speaker 7: like their rush defense was like top ten as it
- 1:58:57Speaker 7: normally is, Like they allowed like ninety yards per game.
- 1:58:59Speaker 7: I think Oregon rushed for like two hundred yards. They
- 1:59:03Speaker 7: have like a four headed monster in the running back room,
- 1:59:06Speaker 7: like they they can like beat whoever.
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: Dud Peyton said it like Oregon. Everyone thinks it's like
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: a high flying offense. They averaged six point seven yards
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: per carry on the ground and it was what forty
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: two degrees rainy?
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: They beat Iowa at Iowa football, Yes, and it couldn't
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: have started any better a safety two to nothing right
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: out of there.
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: Then and then they would go up with a minute
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: twenty left in the game, and then it's like, fuck
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: it done, crazy.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: I was praying for just fourth quarter, it's two to nothing,
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: Iowa kicks a field goal. Then Oregon goes down and
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: kicks a game winning field goal to win five.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: Also like that Steelers Chargers game.
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: US, Where did Oregon end up on the AP this week?
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: Because the eight people didn't have Ioway in the top
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: twenty five last week, so I'm sure they don't see
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: it as like a quality whatsoever.
- 1:59:59Speaker 7: Right now?
- 2:00:00Speaker 2: Oregon seven, they dropped one spot.
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you could flip miss flip Oregon.
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: But oh missus quiet. Everyone's like the hood coach is
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: leaving and they're just nine and one sitting there.
- 2:00:13Speaker 3: We have a huge one this weekend. I do think
- 2:00:16Speaker 3: it's ahead, but it could shake things up.
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: Who does it Bama got this week?
- 2:00:21Speaker 3: Oklahoma?
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: Yeah, because Olahoma's just kind of sitting there a bubble team.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: They're talking about them.
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but as Oklahoma kind of like Missouri were like
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: just begging to stay in the playoff conversation. And then
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: it abruptly comes to a halt.
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: I thought so until they went up to Tennessee and
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: we all we all watched that game and it was like,
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: what the hell is going on here? Dram tier like
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: the nest. They need better offense, but like, I don't
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: see it.
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: Getting more dude, that that injury, I do not see
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: it getting more.
- 2:00:51Speaker 3: Before. Yeah, Florida and Mississippi State don't sleep, don't sleep,
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: don't see on the rebels.
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: And I'm telling dude, that Florida game right there is
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: a scary one. It shouldn't be scary, but that's when
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: it gets scary.
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: Florida is dead freshmen.
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: Florida is the penn state of the SEC outstanding roster.
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: Can't put it together. Yeah, down their quarterback?
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: Hey Bama two on that g Like yeah, it's like
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: ty Simpson is gonna have to be connecting with these
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: explosive plays. He had a couple where he's just missing.
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: And since Bama can't run the football that well like Oklahoma,
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: I feel like we'll kind of eat that up and
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: it comes down to it. It's it feels like a
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: matchup like Tennessee Oklahoma, where you guys can throw the
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: ball Well.
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: The one thing I like, though, is our defense is
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: playing their best football right now. Yeah, Like they're flying
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: around turnovers like that. We didn't have turnovers last year
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: at all. We had two maybe three this game, but
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: we turned the ball over in positive territory and only
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: come out with three. Yeah, So it's like putting that away.
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: Putting that away. Scoring with twenty seconds left in the
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: first half the last three games is the best feeling.
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: Yeah, sending that team.
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: To the locker room like, motherfucker.
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: All right, what do we think is going to happen
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: in the Big twelve? Who you think is gonna be
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: in the Big twelve Championship?
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: Like, right now, I know we have I think I
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: think we have watched that game this weekend week?
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: Do you think so? You think by he takes down Cincinnati?
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah? I do what.
- 2:02:35Speaker 6: That?
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: No, I'm I'm not saying he doesn't he doesn't need
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: any Yeah, I don't need anymore. It's just more like
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: Cincinnati has been a good team. They've kind of been
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: fun to watch and see what.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: Yeah, b y you Cincinnati YU drops to Cincinnati? Does
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: that put Utah in the Big Big twelve Championshipnati.
- 2:02:56Speaker 3: Oh, We've only lost one one conference game, yes.
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: And quietless. So Utah is just gonna be in the
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: Big is gonna be in the playoff?
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: Help Utah last week?
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: There?
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: Well, Utah might need help, but they're gonna be again.
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: It's like they could finish. They'll finish ten and two
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: and they'll just be sitting there Prime College Football Playoff conversation.
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: And IF yeah for CF because you got IF. You're
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: gonna have Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan in there, and
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: the and the Big Ten and the SEC. You're gonna
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: have A and M, Alabama, Georgia, oh miss.
- 2:03:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: Is there any more that I need to be thinking of?
- 2:03:35Speaker 3: Oklahoma's currently ranked twelve?
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but they're currently ranked twelve, I must this is
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: me assuming they dropped to Alabama, So that would be
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: the four right there. So that's a ACC is gonna
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: get one. So now it's nine like G five, G five,
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: And then you're gonna have two spots for the Big
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: twelve lost Memphis lost.
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: You'll have one. You'll have one the Big Twelve championship.
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: The Big Twelve champion will get in. Then it'll be
- 2:03:59Speaker 1: like one one other.
- 2:04:01Speaker 7: Well, here here's the here's a situation.
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: Notre Dame will be in. So that's if Big ten
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: and SEC get four in, which I don't think will happen.
- 2:04:09Speaker 7: What if like since he beats b y U and
- 2:04:11Speaker 7: then since he beats Texas Tech in the Big twelve championship, Dude,
- 2:04:16Speaker 7: Like I feel like both though obviously Cincinnati will get
- 2:04:18Speaker 7: an automatic berth Like, you're not gonna leave Texas Tech out?
- 2:04:22Speaker 4: No?
- 2:04:22Speaker 1: I yeah, I don't disagree with that.
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: And who was saying that the committee the committee keeps
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: keeps the championship like, doesn't put a lot of weight
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: in the championship games?
- 2:04:32Speaker 3: Corrects?
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: Right, you get the automatical if somebody guess their breaks
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: blown off, I think that they could. If you could,
- 2:04:38Speaker 1: if you yeah, if they are two loss teams, which
- 2:04:40Speaker 1: the only game.
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: I see that happening is possibly Indian Oha State.
- 2:04:45Speaker 1: But Indiana is undefeated and they still get in. Yeah,
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: if they're one lost team, they that's where it's like
- 2:04:50Speaker 1: they won't get punished for getting blown out in the
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: Big Ten championships here. Excellent, all right, that is our
- 2:04:57Speaker 1: college football talk. Hey, hell of a week, Locker over week,
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: locker room will be coming out or bus with the
