- 0:12Speaker 1: Hello and welcome.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Hi. This is my favorite intro music of all time.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Just us beatboxing.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, I hope those dance musics line up.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I hope so. That's actually, I'm going to submit that
- 0:23Speaker 1: as the new theme music. Welcome to the Mic Drop
- 0:26Speaker 1: Comedy Podcast.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This is the Chandler edition. We are here live day two.
- 0:31Speaker 1: At the Big Pine Comedy Festival. How are you feeling?
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'm feeling tired.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:35Speaker 2: But I'm here, ready for some chuckles. I'm doing good.
- 0:39Speaker 1: How are you? We're here, we're sweaty.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Am I allowed to ask that? I don't know how
- 0:41Speaker 2: this interview works.
- 0:42Speaker 1: No one does.
- 0:43Speaker 2: No one does. How are you? How's Sari?
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm warm. I'm schvitzing. I took this off. But happy
- 0:48Speaker 1: to be here. Great festival.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Nice.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Always a good time. Cool. And I'm excited to see
- 0:54Speaker 1: some more comedy tonight. Yeah. I saw some good shows
- 0:57Speaker 1: out here. We're in the garden right now, which is
- 0:59Speaker 1: why we're so toasty. But I saw some really good comics.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Some people I hadn't seen. And I love it.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And we have Spelling Bee out here tonight, which is
- 1:07Speaker 2: a local show.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Spelling Bee is a great show. I love that one.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Are you on the show this weekend?
- 1:13Speaker 2: No, I'm just... It's lonely at home. So I'm here
- 1:17Speaker 2: with my friends.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I don't know if I properly introduced you. Do you want.
- 1:21Speaker 2: To tell the people who you are? Yeah. Hi, people.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm Anthony Thornton. I am the support booker here at
- 1:28Speaker 2: Mic Drop Chandler, and I am also a comedian and
- 1:33Speaker 2: co-producer of Wunderlust.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:36Speaker 2: A lot of other comics. I don't like to sit still,
- 1:39Speaker 2: is what I do. Yes.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Okay. Can you explain Wunderlust for people if they have
- 1:44Speaker 1: not been to it and they're Horrible people missing out.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So, Wanderlust is a hybrid show. Me and my girlfriend
- 1:52Speaker 2: run together. She is a professional burlesque dancer. Love her.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Big fan.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I am a struggling comedian. So, together, we've hired some
- 2:02Speaker 2: dancers to come do burlesque, and we have comics who
- 2:05Speaker 2: will be doing stand-up in between. Yes. We also have
- 2:08Speaker 2: some pole dancers.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's an amazing show.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It is.
- 2:11Speaker 1: For people, if you live in Chandler or if you're
- 2:14Speaker 1: in town for... Big Pine. By the time this comes out.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I made my debut performance as a burlesque performer last
- 2:23Speaker 2: time and made $ 238 in tips. That's amazing. So I
- 2:27Speaker 2: am no longer a comedian. I'm just a silly, sexy boy.
- 2:32Speaker 1: That's really good cleanup. Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I've never made that much.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I felt very proud when I got to do the show.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You twerked on the wall.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I twerked on the wall. This is true.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Great.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And I think I walked away with like 70 bucks.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Nice.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And I was thrilled. Great. I was very happy. I
- 2:47Speaker 1: don't know if anyone has twerked on the wall before
- 2:49Speaker 1: or since then.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Not with a handstand.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Oh, they've twerked on the wall in other ways?
- 2:53Speaker 2: I mean, Ashley just kind of put her hand on
- 2:55Speaker 2: the wall and then gave one pop. It was a
- 2:57Speaker 2: half-hearted twerk.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I put my whole ass into it. Anything
- 3:02Speaker 1: I do, I do it whole ass. So can you
- 3:06Speaker 1: tell us about your co-host for Wanderlust?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yes, she does a majority of the work.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And what is her name?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Her name is Rebella Risque.
- 3:15Speaker 1: You're being so coy with her name.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I did look.
- 3:17Speaker 1: You have to earn it, people that I don't know.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Are out there. Rebella Risque, she is a very talented
- 3:24Speaker 2: burlesque performer and teacher. She actually won... Arizona's Producer of
- 3:29Speaker 2: the Year for 2025 because of this show.
- 3:32Speaker 1: She is fantastic.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and she's the reason I have a roof over
- 3:35Speaker 2: my head.
- 3:36Speaker 1: She is wonderful. And I love, too, that she is
- 3:38Speaker 1: a teacher because I feel like she's also a good
- 3:40Speaker 1: role model in the scene, too. Not only an amazing performer.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I feel like she's.
- 3:47Speaker 2: My favorite thing is anywhere I go, people always ask me,
- 3:50Speaker 2: why is Rebella not here? And that hurts. I do feel.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Bad often when I see you, but that's usually because
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'm bringing her makeup or costume pieces. We just trade
- 4:00Speaker 1: little gems and jewels.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I know who the likable one in our house is.
- 4:06Speaker 1: She's a doll, but I feel like together, you guys
- 4:08Speaker 1: doing Wanderlust is.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It's a lot of fun. Chef's Kiss.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's an amazing show.
- 4:11Speaker 2: A lot of anxiety beforehand. Currently in it. Hopefully we
- 4:14Speaker 2: sell out. We typically do.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So the next one is coming up in a few days.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Sunday.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Is it part of the festival?
- 4:21Speaker 2: It is not.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But we're hoping maybe some folks that are still in town.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Any important people who want to come and give
- 4:27Speaker 2: me their money are more than welcome to be here.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Make sure you have your dollar bills ready. Yes. Yes.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I'll dance again if they show up.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And you guys do the show, like, quarterly? Is that
- 4:35Speaker 1: kind of?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, every three months because it's a very expensive show
- 4:39Speaker 2: to produce and a lot of moving parts to it.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And we're also performers ourselves.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yes.
- 4:45Speaker 2: We want to work.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Do you have any big dreams for that show of, like?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Have you ever taken it on the road?
- 4:51Speaker 2: We are going to San Diego mic drop in June.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Oh, hell yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: It'll be the first time that we travel the show.
- 4:58Speaker 2: So that's another bag of anxiety to market in a
- 5:03Speaker 2: new place. And yeah, we have gone to like Vegas
- 5:09Speaker 2: just like on a vacation and saw like stages and
- 5:12Speaker 2: we're like, it'd be great right here. That's a pipe dream.
- 5:14Speaker 2: But one day.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I think I sent you something for a festival of, like,
- 5:18Speaker 1: just an idea.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, you did.
- 5:20Speaker 1: This would be crazy. But what do you think about bringing...
- 5:24Speaker 1: You guys can bring your own poles. Bring all your
- 5:27Speaker 1: costume pieces.
- 5:28Speaker 2: If it wasn't such a big production, like, I'll be
- 5:30Speaker 2: here at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday to tech and prep
- 5:34Speaker 2: for a 1 p.m. show.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And I imagine that the... I was going to say girls.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Is it all... Maybe there are some... non-girls non-binary people
- 5:44Speaker 1: in the show but i was the dancers the burlesque
- 5:46Speaker 1: people we might have some non-binary they're they're not like
- 5:50Speaker 1: comics that just show up uh looking haggard and crazy
- 5:53Speaker 1: they no they look amazing like the full hair makeup
- 5:56Speaker 1: all out of my league lesbians for the most part
- 5:59Speaker 1: they're uh gorgeous yes.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yes beautiful beautiful talented performers.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah That is very cool that it's going to be
- 6:06Speaker 1: at Mic Drop San Diego. I'm excited for you.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I'm very excited. It also gives me a reason to
- 6:10Speaker 2: just have a vacation in San Diego again.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and write it off on your taxes.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Go to Legoland. Here we go. Again? I haven't been
- 6:16Speaker 2: to Legoland.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Oh, you guys are Disney fans, right?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to Disney. That's on Monday.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Okay, I was going to say, when was the last
- 6:22Speaker 1: time that's with all of the money you're going to
- 6:25Speaker 1: be raking in from Wanderlust?
- 6:28Speaker 2: No, that's from my bonus from my day job.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Oh, shit.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay. And mostly her money. It's all her money. I
- 6:36Speaker 2: get to buy a couple like churros. But I'll be there. Okay.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'm going to buy myself a lightsaber. That's 100% happening.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You deserve it, Anthony. Yeah, I'm saying.
- 6:44Speaker 1: You deserve it. You work hard.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Another thing you do here at Mic Drop in Chandler
- 6:49Speaker 1: is host the open mic. I do. Which you deserve
- 6:52Speaker 1: all the lightsabers.
- 6:53Speaker 2: In the world for that.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Can you tell us how long have you been doing that?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Too long. Too long.
- 6:58Speaker 1: No. Just a tear forming. No. That's a real labor
- 7:03Speaker 1: of love.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It is. I do love this community. And some people
- 7:09Speaker 2: out here, they do be trying their best. But it's
- 7:13Speaker 2: good to see. It's fun watching the start of a joke.
- 7:17Speaker 2: And we actually get normies who will come out and
- 7:19Speaker 2: watch us fail, which is an added bonus.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I'm always amazed when there are normies, when we get
- 7:24Speaker 1: non-comics coming to.
- 7:25Speaker 2: We'll have people sit here all night. It's a three-hour mic. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 2: and they're having a good time, too. Yeah, and they're like, yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 2: keep telling racist things. You're not gay, but it would
- 7:34Speaker 2: be funny. You're right.
- 7:36Speaker 1: If there are any normies listening, when is the open mic?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Thursdays. Every Thursday at 7. And if people want.
- 7:45Speaker 1: To sign up and tell they're not racist jokes, please.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You can get here, what, like 6.30?
- 7:50Speaker 2: I mean, if you get here at 6.30, the list
- 7:53Speaker 2: is going to be deep. So it drops at 6.00.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'd get here around that.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so if there's any aspiring comics, any new babies
- 8:01Speaker 1: that are like, I want to do comedy, everybody tells
- 8:04Speaker 1: me how funny I am, they can come in, check
- 8:06Speaker 1: out Pick Your Poison.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, just know you're probably going to fail. But that's
- 8:10Speaker 2: part of it. It's part of it, yeah. And the
- 8:14Speaker 2: hardest part is just getting on stage that first time. And,
- 8:17Speaker 2: you know, I won't make fun of you too hard
- 8:18Speaker 2: the first time.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I feel like you actually are a very good host of, like,
- 8:22Speaker 1: keeping it moving and kind of curating, like, when people
- 8:25Speaker 1: say some out-of-pocket stuff. You're like, none of that shit, please.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You know, we're all adults who, in theory, read. Yes.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So being somewhat clever would be nice. And, yeah, I'm
- 8:39Speaker 2: also looking for people to book inside on the main room.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say that open mics also,
- 8:45Speaker 1: if you're starting out, is just where you meet other comics. Yes.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it is a huge part of it.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And find other people that are like, hey, I'm also miserable.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I'm driving around. And then you find out about other
- 8:54Speaker 1: shows and things going on and other places to hang.
- 8:57Speaker 2: That's how you get booked on stuff.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And develop a drinking habit.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Well, yeah. It's either drinking or drugs. Or both, if
- 9:04Speaker 2: you're really good at this. But, yeah, you're going to
- 9:09Speaker 2: like beer.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Okay. So I feel like we have a... A good
- 9:13Speaker 1: idea of you, Anthony. You're a comic. You work here
- 9:16Speaker 1: at the club doing support booking. You are a Disney
- 9:20Speaker 1: and Lego nerd.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I am.
- 9:22Speaker 1: An improviser. I am. You're a man of all talents.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I don't sit still.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Right. That's why we're friends. Good ADHD talents. We've both
- 9:31Speaker 1: crossed and uncrossed our legs about 74 times. It's taking
- 9:34Speaker 1: everything within me to not twirl my hair. If you
- 9:36Speaker 1: notice my twirly piece, this was the drive over here.
- 9:39Speaker 1: She's tucked away there.
- 9:40Speaker 2: This is called the Brains Broken Podcast, right? That's what
- 9:42Speaker 2: this is? I think so. We just talk about our
- 9:43Speaker 2: broken brains? We do. Actually, we're going to move to...
- 9:45Speaker 2: Defective humans.
- 9:46Speaker 1: We're going to move to our trivia portion.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Okay. I like trivia.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Is it about trains? Because I got that.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I don't think we have any train questions.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Dinosaurs?
- 9:53Speaker 1: As always, we just direct all complaints to Carlos Rodriguez,
- 9:57Speaker 1: who writes these questions.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You know, I know Carlos. Rodriguez's daughter fantastic person.
- 10:03Speaker 1: She is great she's helping produce the show this week
- 10:06Speaker 1: during the festival.
- 10:07Speaker 2: One of my best friends and she's killing it oh
- 10:09Speaker 2: so good.
- 10:09Speaker 1: She's been crushing it the first question for you don't
- 10:13Speaker 1: be worried here okay I probably shouldn't look at the
- 10:14Speaker 1: answers I know that's why I'm like don't stress I'm
- 10:16Speaker 1: cheating where is the Liberty Bell located Philadelphia.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Crushed it. Nailed it.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Great job. Great job.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And they say public schools for losers.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I mean, who says that?
- 10:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I think I heard them say, open up the schools.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Stop banning the books. Let the children read.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like that's.
- 10:37Speaker 1: My, yeah, let them read the books. Okay, so we
- 10:40Speaker 1: get a lot of weird movie-related questions. I believe Carlos
- 10:43Speaker 1: is a big movie guy.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Question number two. Saving Private Ryan lost the Best Picture
- 10:49Speaker 1: Oscar to which movie?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, this one hit me hard when it happened. I
- 10:55Speaker 2: cried for days. Do you want, like, multiple choice? Oh, please. Please, God, yes.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Is it Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, or Shakespeare in Love? Hmm.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Hmm. I'm going to go with Good Will Hunting.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I am so sorry, but the answer is Shakespeare in Love.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Please don't. Don't be too sad.
- 11:19Speaker 2: For a theater kid to not pick the Shakespeare one,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I think I'm going to hell.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You were just a baby then, though. You were just
- 11:28Speaker 1: a youth.
- 11:28Speaker 2: How old do you think I am?
- 11:30Speaker 1: I was just trying to make you feel better.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's like a compliment sandwich, but it's just a compliment.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I thought you looked like shit for a 21-year-old. You're 37?
- 11:38Speaker 2: That's terrible. He's just a baby.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It's just an open-faced compliment. It's not even a sandwich.
- 11:44Speaker 1: I'm all about hyping up the people.
- 11:46Speaker 2: We're doing great. I said Shakespeare in Love was my answer.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Was that correct? Yes.
- 11:54Speaker 1: We'll edit that out. It's doing great. Have you ever
- 11:57Speaker 1: seen Shakespeare in Love?
- 11:58Speaker 2: I have. I'm still a theater kid. I have seen it.
- 12:02Speaker 1: But it's not a musical.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I'm not a musical theater kid. I can't sing.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You looked offended there.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Okay, shit. We're going to move on to questions. I'm
- 12:10Speaker 2: not cool enough to be gay. I'm not gay, but
- 12:12Speaker 2: it'd be funny if I... Alright, let's move on.
- 12:15Speaker 1: That was a good callback.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Okay, this is a comedy-related question.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Thank you, Carlos. Who was the first comedian to sell
- 12:21Speaker 1: out Madison Square Garden?
- 12:24Speaker 2: Was it Dice?
- 12:26Speaker 1: It was. Andrew Dice Nice. Are you a fan of
- 12:29Speaker 1: the Dice Man?
- 12:30Speaker 2: What's that next trivia question? Question number four.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Okay, this I'm really sorry. This is a sports ball question.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Name an NFL team that has not won a Super Bowl.
- 12:44Speaker 1: You have many to choose from. So if you think
- 12:46Speaker 1: of a city and you think of maybe an animal
- 12:50Speaker 1: or something that might go along with it, we could
- 12:52Speaker 1: probably give you some points.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I feel like I'm going to keep it local and
- 12:54Speaker 2: say the Cardinals.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I feel like that's right. I'm just used to them
- 12:58Speaker 1: being terrible. Yeah, that's true.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Here and in St. Louis. You didn't think I knew that.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I mean, I know that they haven't won. Well, actually,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I'll say, I don't know if this is still true,
- 13:10Speaker 1: but the Arizona Cardinals went on a huge losing streak
- 13:13Speaker 1: after they hosted the Charlie Kirk Memorial. All right, we'll
- 13:19Speaker 1: edit that part out, too.
- 13:20Speaker 2: No, no, no. It's a great button for the end
- 13:25Speaker 2: of the episode. Well, Anthony, it was great to meet you.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I just thought that was a fun fact. It's a
- 13:31Speaker 1: little local trivia.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It is a fact.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Do you have any other teams you want to guess?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Just Parasitian and Animal, and we'll see if it matches up.
- 13:40Speaker 2: We'll say the Cleveland Browns.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I don't see them on here.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Oh, no, no, no, they are. Boom, boom. See, y'all
- 13:48Speaker 2: telling me I'm wrong. I'm totally right. Oh, shit. I'll
- 13:52Speaker 2: say the Jaguars.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Where are the.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Jacksonville.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Wait, are you secretly a... I don't... Yeah!
- 14:03Speaker 2: Look at this. I'm so good at this.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Are you feeding him the answers?
- 14:05Speaker 2: I'm so good at this.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Zion, please.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I'll say the Houston Texans.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Is that a team?
- 14:11Speaker 2: They're still babies.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Wait, how are you doing this?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Oh, let's go. Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And I'm very generous with the points, too. So you
- 14:22Speaker 1: could just make up some shit, too. They've also never
- 14:28Speaker 1: won the Super Bowl.
- 14:29Speaker 2: That's true. They haven't. That's a bonus point for sure.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Phoenix Mercury. Maybe it's living in Arizona.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I can't say that because then I'm an asshole if
- 14:39Speaker 2: I say the Mercury.
- 14:40Speaker 1: They're good.
- 14:41Speaker 2: They're real good.
- 14:42Speaker 1: They're the only one that's winning anything here. Yeah. Okay.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Do you want to try to name any more or
- 14:48Speaker 1: do you want to move on to some history? I
- 14:55Speaker 1: feel like you did great.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I did fantastic. The Chargers? Yeah. I'm impressing my guy
- 15:03Speaker 2: over here. His face. He's like, oh, my God. This
- 15:06Speaker 2: guy who reads comic books obviously knows football. It's all
- 15:10Speaker 2: fantasy football. Oh, my gosh.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I love it. All right.
- 15:15Speaker 2: All right, cool. All right, let's move on.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You're killing it. I think you're going to win.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Let's move on to history.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Name two countries that were involved in the Louisiana Purchase.
- 15:24Speaker 1: This is a deep cut.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I'm going to say France and America.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what? Your theater degree, you had to do like.
- 15:33Speaker 1: A history requirement?
- 15:34Speaker 2: I read Moliere. Oh. A little Tartuffe. Oh, dang. Has
- 15:37Speaker 2: nothing to do with the Louisiana Purchase. Wow.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Anthony, I'm impressed.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what gets me the ladies. I'm just like,
- 15:45Speaker 2: did you know that France was part of the Louisiana Purchase?
- 15:47Speaker 2: You start whispering about the Louisiana Purchase. And they're just like, oh,
- 15:49Speaker 2: my God.
- 15:50Speaker 1: They're like, are you trying to get me pregnant?
- 15:51Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Are you trying to say you have
- 15:54Speaker 2: health insurance? I do. Okay.
- 15:57Speaker 1: What does RICO stand for in the RICO Act? Uh...
- 16:04Speaker 1: I did not know this one.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Racketeering?
- 16:06Speaker 1: Uh....
- 16:12Speaker 2: And side crystals orifices. Yes! Ding, ding. What if? No,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I don't. I just think of the Rico kid from
- 16:23Speaker 2: Hannah Montana now.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I was thinking Uncle Rico.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Uncle Rico, yeah. You're right. He can throw football over
- 16:29Speaker 2: the mountains. What does the rest of that? I'm going
- 16:32Speaker 2: to plead the fifth on this one.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You got racketeer.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and then I felt like I was
- 16:36Speaker 2: incriminating myself if I went any further.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's good stuff. Racketeer-influenced and corrupt organizations. Oh. So
- 16:43Speaker 1: that's our government.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I would have got there at some point.
- 16:47Speaker 1: That's impressive, though.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I know those words. Yeah. Okay.
- 16:51Speaker 1: This is a fun one. I feel like my mom
- 16:53Speaker 1: would notice this one. Who is the current host of
- 16:56Speaker 1: Wheel of Fortune?
- 16:57Speaker 2: Oh, Drew Carey? Is that still him?
- 17:00Speaker 1: No?
- 17:01Speaker 2: No.
- 17:01Speaker 1: He hosts a different show.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Oh, it is. Oh, Wheel of Fortune.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Another banger of a show.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I'm sorry. You remember I'm a terrible-looking 21-year-old. I'm not
- 17:11Speaker 2: at home watching this stuff. You've been crushing it. I
- 17:14Speaker 2: don't know who does Wheel of Fortune.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'll give you a hint. He got his start, I believe,
- 17:18Speaker 1: reality TV.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Theo Vaughn.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 17:24Speaker 2: That's nice.
- 17:25Speaker 1: The answer is Joe Rogan.
- 17:27Speaker 2: So close. They're one in the same.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Can you imagine, though?
- 17:32Speaker 2: Have you seen them in the same room? Probably. Actually,
- 17:36Speaker 2: a lot.
- 17:36Speaker 1: That's a good conspiracy.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Probably.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Okay, the answer, Ryan Seacrest.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Oh.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I didn't know this. I don't watch a lot of
- 17:43Speaker 1: Wheel of Fortune. I feel like you need to be
- 17:45Speaker 1: in a waiting room a lot of times from school.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I always forget that he's just like a free
- 17:50Speaker 2: space on a bingo card. You can just say his
- 17:52Speaker 2: name and most of the time it'll be right.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I didn't know he was still around. I mean, I
- 17:55Speaker 1: know he was alive, but.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I didn't. But I'm happy to hear that he is. Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 2: He's my American.
- 18:02Speaker 1: God bless.
- 18:02Speaker 2: That's the one he started on, yeah. He kicked the
- 18:04Speaker 2: other dude off. Wasn't there two guys that started? Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 2: there were.
- 18:07Speaker 1: It was like a Destiny's Child kind of situation.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. He's our Beyonce. Yeah, he is the Beyonce.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Which state was the first to secede the United States
- 18:16Speaker 1: to form the Confederacy? Another banger. We have the producers
- 18:22Speaker 1: laughing in the corner.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. This is a comforting one to talk about.
- 18:27Speaker 1: And Was it Louisiana, South Carolina, or Tennessee?
- 18:39Speaker 2: I'm going to go with South Carolina.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Oh, another winner. Another winner.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Great job. I know my race estates. I know my
- 18:45Speaker 2: race estates.
- 18:47Speaker 1: We are live at Big Pine Comedy in Arizona.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Oh, we're live. We're live. South Carolina, I love you.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Another race estate. Y'all have gotten better.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Hey, but good news from our race estate. We don't
- 18:58Speaker 1: have the Charlie Kirk Highway. I don't know if you
- 18:59Speaker 1: heard the news yesterday. The governor voted it down. So
- 19:01Speaker 1: just to circle back on the Charlie Kirk updates. I'm
- 19:05Speaker 1: getting word in my ear.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I'm getting a dot on my shirt. Oh, no. Okay.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Prove me wrong. Okay, we're live. This is inappropriate.
- 19:16Speaker 1: All right, we're going to shift gears. Let's take a
- 19:18Speaker 1: somber moment. Can you please name the song that Eric
- 19:21Speaker 1: Clapton wrote for his son that passed away?
- 19:24Speaker 2: Oh, it's the, when I see you in heaven.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you want to sing it a little bit?
- 19:30Speaker 2: No, no, not at all. Not at all. I'd rather, no.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah. It is.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Tears in heaven.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Tears in heaven.
- 19:38Speaker 2: We'll give you points for that.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I feel like that is close enough.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I knew it was something in heaven.
- 19:42Speaker 1: It's about his son that fell out of a window.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Need more detail.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I mean, he came out years later as anti-vax. I'm like,
- 19:55Speaker 1: do you really know about keeping children alive, sir?
- 19:57Speaker 2: I like that you say that. It's like, so kind
- 20:00Speaker 2: of deserved it. If you think about it.
- 20:02Speaker 1: No, it's more just like, are you really the authority
- 20:05Speaker 1: on children's safety, sir? Okay. Okay. Final Jeopardy question number 10.
- 20:09Speaker 1: We're wrapping this up because it's 143 degrees out. Who
- 20:13Speaker 1: was the first Latino NFL head coach and quarterback to
- 20:17Speaker 1: win two Super Bowls? I don't know enough teams or
- 20:22Speaker 1: players to offer you multiple choice. So if you want
- 20:25Speaker 1: to phone a friend.
- 20:28Speaker 2: The first Latino. I'm going to be honest. I thought.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I thought they just made him in black and white. Damn. Okay. Pass. Okay. See,
- 20:46Speaker 2: this is bad. I'm half Mexican. I should know this.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:49Speaker 2: These are my people, but I don't.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I was going to say.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Joe Montana. Let's go. No. Is it really? Troy Aikman.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Isn't he super white?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Isn't Joe Montana very white?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Both of those are very white. Very, very white people.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I don't know if. I know basketball.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Tom Brady. Tom Brady's so good, he could be all
- 21:07Speaker 2: the races, all at once.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I don't know if we can do fractions of points.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'd give you like. 25 because the first name Tom
- 21:13Speaker 1: is one of them. Tom Flores and Jim Plunkett of
- 21:16Speaker 1: the Raiders.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Oh, that's not fair. The Raiders aren't even a professional team.
- 21:22Speaker 2: What's up, Raider Nation? I love you live.
- 21:26Speaker 1: We're going to wrap this up. So, Raider Nation, feel
- 21:28Speaker 1: free to tag us.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Go ahead and get rid of my tag on there.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Tag Anthony. Come after him.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Give us a boost. I'm a small boy. He is.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Small and quick. You seem like you'd be quick.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I got my running shoes on today. Yeah, I can tell.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Because I know I was going to talk shit to
- 21:41Speaker 2: Raider Nation, apparently.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Every day. He's online talking shit and starting fights.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Coming to Vegas, y'all.
- 21:47Speaker 1: If people want to follow you on social media and
- 21:50Speaker 1: see what you're up to, what's the best way for
- 21:52Speaker 1: them to do that?
- 21:53Speaker 2: They should just hit the follow button.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:56Speaker 2: On social media. It's crazy. Comic underscore Anthony.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you see it right there if you're watching. If
- 22:02Speaker 1: you're listening with your ear balls.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I've always wanted to do this. It looks cool when
- 22:06Speaker 2: they do it. Right here?
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's right about there. Comic underscore Anthony. And please be
- 22:12Speaker 1: sure to check out their show, Wanderlust. It is so
- 22:14Speaker 1: great with his beautiful partner, Rebella Risque. It's a lot
- 22:18Speaker 1: of fun. It's also going to be at Mic Drop
- 22:20Speaker 1: San Diego. So if you are not in Chandler and
- 22:22Speaker 1: you happen to be in San Diego... Do yourself a favor.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Take like $ 50 out in singles and go check out
- 22:29Speaker 1: the show.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Do yourself a bigger favor and take out like $ 150.
- 22:32Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be in singles. You can do
- 22:35Speaker 2: it in big bills. Just hand it directly to me,
- 22:37Speaker 2: and I'll put it in the safe spot.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Sure, gas might be $ 5 a gallon, but carpool. Yeah,
- 22:42Speaker 1: come on.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Get away, Moe.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Are Waymo's cheaper?
- 22:46Speaker 2: I don't know. Okay. They scare me.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Anthony, it's been a lot of fun having you on
- 22:50Speaker 1: the podcast.
- 22:51Speaker 2: This was delightful.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Thanks, guys. Thank you for having me. We'll see you
- 22:54Speaker 1: next time.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Bye.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Bye.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Bye.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Bye.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Bye.
