- 0:00Speaker 1: Look, this is a Lumberjack fantasy come true. This is
- 0:08Speaker 1: a bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a
- 0:29Speaker 1: Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. Today we are
- 0:36Speaker 1: kicking off our reviews of Finding Mister Christmas season two
- 0:39Speaker 1: with Season two Episode one, The Search for Mister Christmas.
- 0:44Speaker 1: This episode originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel on Monday,
- 0:47Speaker 1: October twenty seventh, and is currently available to stream on
- 0:51Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus. Keep up with us on Instagram on TikTok.
- 0:55Speaker 1: We are Girls Gone Hamark. I gotta tell you we
- 0:58Speaker 1: were popping off on both platforms. Yes, we last a
- 1:01Speaker 1: couple of days. Yeah, having a really good time over
- 1:05Speaker 1: on Instagram, turn it out content engaging with Yeah, Hallmark viewers,
- 1:10Speaker 1: it's a good time. I love it. We also have
- 1:12Speaker 1: a Facebook group if you are interested in joining. It's
- 1:15Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark and Facebook groups. You know really quickly.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Speaking of Instagram, we had been saying we're gonna make
- 1:21Speaker 1: a smuucho meter. Yeah, yeah, and we did. It makes
- 1:24Speaker 1: me happy. It makes me happy too. I saw, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: saw you said like I spend a lot of time
- 1:28Speaker 1: on this. Please go give it some love. I love
- 1:31Speaker 1: this Muto meter. It's like a little bit out of
- 1:34Speaker 1: rhythm for us. So when you always like throw it
- 1:36Speaker 1: in there at the end about like what's your yeah,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I'm smoutchro meter ready rating, and I'm always like, oh yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 1: I don't think about it when I'm like watching the movie.
- 1:44Speaker 1: You tell me either. It's hard to top Wren Christy.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I know we had some early it's that maybe the
- 1:50Speaker 1: front runner for the entire season we shall see, maybe
- 1:53Speaker 1: the one to beat. Well, let's stop Finding Mister Christmas.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Season one, episode one with a little synopsis. Host johnat
- 2:00Speaker 1: been It and Judge Melissa Peterman kick off the hunt
- 2:03Speaker 1: for Hallmark's next leading man as ten new Hunks reinvent Santa,
- 2:08Speaker 1: then brave a ski slope meet cute with Janelle Perish
- 2:12Speaker 1: where spills still the scene. We're gonna drop some first
- 2:17Speaker 1: impressions of this episode, Wendy, what was your first impression
- 2:20Speaker 1: of season two finding Mister Christmas? These men are two
- 2:25Speaker 1: pretty for Basic Cable. I'm the smoking hot right and
- 2:30Speaker 1: I cannot want to compare like this year to last year,
- 2:34Speaker 1: but like fire casting great job, guys. Well, let me
- 2:40Speaker 1: tell you my first impression and then I want to
- 2:41Speaker 1: talk really quickly about the casting. Okay, my first impression
- 2:44Speaker 1: is this season, it seems like muscles are a main character.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They certainly are. I don't hate it. You know, here's
- 2:50Speaker 1: what I was thinking about, really different casting wise. Last
- 2:54Speaker 1: season when they were casting, we talked to a lot
- 2:57Speaker 1: of the guys and they were like, we didn't know
- 2:58Speaker 1: what we were being cast for. We just knew we
- 3:00Speaker 1: were being cast for a reality show. They had kind
- 3:03Speaker 1: of a basic idea, right because the show didn't exist
- 3:06Speaker 1: and so they couldn't talk about it. Well, this year,
- 3:08Speaker 1: the show's out there and so they were casting very
- 3:10Speaker 1: specifically for this show, and so a lot of really
- 3:14Speaker 1: great guys in that cast. But I feel like this
- 3:17Speaker 1: year's cast is a little more dialed in. They understand
- 3:20Speaker 1: the assignment. And speaking of the cast, why don't we
- 3:24Speaker 1: talk about the men of Mister Christmas season? Sure? Thing
- 3:28Speaker 1: first into the house is Craig. Craig comes in solo,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and I love that he like walks in the house.
- 3:33Speaker 1: He's like, hello, nobody's there, cricket, Hello, Hello Hello. What
- 3:39Speaker 1: I find is really funny is he's carrying football the
- 3:41Speaker 1: entire time through this entire opening scene. Yeah, and I
- 3:46Speaker 1: it was a choice that I didn't fully understand because
- 3:50Speaker 1: to me, I'm like, sending the football guy with the football.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It was a prop that got has something to do
- 3:57Speaker 1: with their hands. I understand that. Yeah, I didn't quite understand.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And we're going to talk later about the festive face
- 4:03Speaker 1: off because the character he brought to that was completely different.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And maybe that was by design of the guy that
- 4:11Speaker 1: walked in like the all American guy with the football. Yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you know, so I was like, who's Craig. Who's Craig.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I don't know who Craig is. I gotta tell you.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I loved when he's looking at the mantle of stockings
- 4:24Speaker 1: and he goes Craig, and I was like, who are
- 4:28Speaker 1: you saying that too? But I loved it. I loved
- 4:32Speaker 1: it so much. Yeah, two guys roll in together. Next
- 4:36Speaker 1: we have Robbie and Drake, and I don't know if
- 4:39Speaker 1: you notice, but they are driving a red pickup track.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Indeed I did notice. It's like, nice touch, nice touch there, Drake. Drake.
- 4:47Speaker 1: This hair won't stop. I can't. All I can think
- 4:50Speaker 1: about is the hair on Drake, and he knows it
- 4:55Speaker 1: lean in. I mean, he's like, gotta thank my mama
- 4:59Speaker 1: for my hair. He's got great hair. I do love that.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Drake's opening line is it's so much bigger than I
- 5:04Speaker 1: thought it would be, and that's gonna be the meme
- 5:06Speaker 1: of the season. Yeah, you know, Drake to me seems
- 5:11Speaker 1: very young. I don't know how old he is, but
- 5:16Speaker 1: he seems much younger than the rest of the guys.
- 5:19Speaker 1: There's like an earnest like kind of sweet boy about strong,
- 5:24Speaker 1: golden retriever energy and admittedly so which I loved. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 1: we love the self awareness. I have high hopes for Drake.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Now let's talk Robbie. Robbie broke my heart immediately. I
- 5:38Speaker 1: thought it was cute. He's like I knew if I
- 5:39Speaker 1: wanted to stay up late, all I had to do
- 5:41Speaker 1: was say, like, mom, you want to watch a Hallmark movie.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I mean it's smart, right, I just love it. That's
- 5:45Speaker 1: real sweet. I'm telling you, at my very core, you know,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I want to roast on all these guys, right, like
- 5:53Speaker 1: I love to poke fun. So Sara's kind of hard.
- 5:57Speaker 1: It's very difficult. Don't show me childhood pictures of sweet
- 6:02Speaker 1: Robbie on a carousel. I can't bring my cold heart
- 6:05Speaker 1: to like I was mean no, And I will tell
- 6:08Speaker 1: you that I was very surprised by how moved I
- 6:13Speaker 1: was by these guys immediately, Like the fact that I
- 6:17Speaker 1: was almost in tears at the end of this episode
- 6:20Speaker 1: says a lot about these guys. Can I just add
- 6:22Speaker 1: one more thing about Robbie please? I'm watching him through
- 6:26Speaker 1: this entire episode, and I'm like, who does he remind
- 6:28Speaker 1: me of? He looks like somebody so familiar. It's the
- 6:31Speaker 1: striking blue eyes. And finally it dawns on me, it's
- 6:34Speaker 1: brat packer Andrew McCarthy, like early days, pretty and pink,
- 6:41Speaker 1: that era of Andrew McCarthy. I love, I love Andrew McCarthy.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm just wondering, is that a reference you think Robbie
- 6:48Speaker 1: himself would get. I don't think so. Right. Was he
- 6:52Speaker 1: even born Robbie was probably born in the nineties. Oh
- 6:54Speaker 1: my god. And when you say that out loud, it
- 6:59Speaker 1: makes me feel like old creeper on the Internet of
- 7:02Speaker 1: the late nineties. Oh goodness. All right. Next up, speaking
- 7:11Speaker 1: of hair, Angel walks in and he and Drake immediately
- 7:13Speaker 1: connect over their their long flowing, voluminous hair. Actually it
- 7:19Speaker 1: was kind of sweet. I like seeing when the guys
- 7:21Speaker 1: grow out a little bit with each other. We learned
- 7:24Speaker 1: Angels from Venezuela. He moved to the United States at
- 7:27Speaker 1: age fifteen, and he says Hallmark movies are a part
- 7:30Speaker 1: of his holiday traditions. I did read an Entertainment Weekly
- 7:35Speaker 1: article introducing the guys, and Angel also said that he
- 7:38Speaker 1: extensively studied season one of Finding Mister Christmas to smart
- 7:42Speaker 1: them into this show. Smart Angel. I gotta say, I
- 7:46Speaker 1: loved like his personal photos with him and his girlfriend
- 7:49Speaker 1: and around the tree, and they're like in matching, like
- 7:52Speaker 1: very sexy hot Christmas pajamas. Not might she be any
- 7:55Speaker 1: more beautiful? Good? I know, I'm like, okay, but god,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I loved it so much, and I gotta tell you
- 8:02Speaker 1: part of me. I love an immigration story. I'm like,
- 8:06Speaker 1: let's go, bro. I'm very excited for Angel, very excited.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh I got the double duo again, Davy and Gabriel. Look,
- 8:14Speaker 1: this is a Lumberjack fantasy come true. I don't know
- 8:20Speaker 1: how two men can be so freaking gorgeous. I'm speechless.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'm speechless yet even the guys when they walk in
- 8:30Speaker 1: the house, are like, do you think he like melts
- 8:34Speaker 1: a little inside? You go, oh, that's my competition, right.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I just imagine Davy walking into the house and you're
- 8:40Speaker 1: anybody else. Every single one of these men is beautiful,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and you go, oh no, talk about like all American, tall, blonde, chiseled,
- 8:50Speaker 1: and then he drops I'm a new dad, and I'm like, ha,
- 8:56Speaker 1: like just come on, And then Gabriel smile. Gabriel. You know, Okay,
- 9:03Speaker 1: We're gonna probably talk about Gabriel a lot later on
- 9:05Speaker 1: in this episode. I have a feeling but Gabriel's eyes
- 9:10Speaker 1: and smile are so mesmerizing to me. He has the
- 9:16Speaker 1: sweetest face. I cannot get over. I just I'm sure
- 9:21Speaker 1: he would not appreciate being called adorable by a forty
- 9:24Speaker 1: six year old woman, but there's something about him that
- 9:26Speaker 1: is just so sweet. How big fan of Gabriel? Me too,
- 9:32Speaker 1: Me too, Gabriel. Also, he does say like I'm brand
- 9:36Speaker 1: new to acting, and I do think like the way
- 9:38Speaker 1: it's edited again, all this is editing. But we see
- 9:40Speaker 1: the guys all looking around at each other and they
- 9:42Speaker 1: all kind of like make like a little Yike's face. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: Like oh no, They were like, he's hot, but is
- 9:49Speaker 1: he gonna be a competition? I was like, oh, no,
- 9:51Speaker 1: be nice, I know, like sweet Gabriel. Yeah, yeah, all right.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They are followed by Jake, who we learn is a
- 9:57Speaker 1: former professional football player who he also does not have
- 10:01Speaker 1: any acting experience. He's looking to make a career pivot.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I felt like Jake was so vulnerable and explaining football
- 10:08Speaker 1: was my life. It's not my life anymore. I'm looking
- 10:11Speaker 1: for my next thing. I'm trying to find something and
- 10:15Speaker 1: it's admirable, right yes, and to admit, like I'm he
- 10:20Speaker 1: doesn't use these words, but to me, the message was
- 10:22Speaker 1: like I'm a little bit lost. Like I knew who
- 10:24Speaker 1: I was when I played football. I identified myself that way.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Now who am I trying to figure that out? Also?
- 10:31Speaker 1: But it is interesting now we have like two guys
- 10:33Speaker 1: who who have told us they have no acting experience. Right,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'm scared to watch that roll out? Yeah. Can I
- 10:42Speaker 1: just talk about Jake for just a hot second. M
- 10:46Speaker 1: When he's talking about he doesn't have any acting experience,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and he's like, that's gonna be my sneaky surprise. And
- 10:51Speaker 1: then we see like Instagram photos of Jake who literally,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I don't think I've seen so many abs on a
- 10:57Speaker 1: person before. I was like, sir, that's your sneaky surprise. Yeah, woa.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Also side note, I was preparing for this episode yesterday
- 11:10Speaker 1: and I took a screenshot of one of the guys
- 11:13Speaker 1: and I asked it, hold on, Oh, I took a
- 11:16Speaker 1: screenshot of one of the guys. I don't want to
- 11:19Speaker 1: admit who. And I was going to text you this
- 11:22Speaker 1: picture and I wrote, this guy is so f being hot,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and then realize I almost sent it to my husband almost.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I mean, maybe he appreciates a good looking man. Oh
- 11:40Speaker 1: my goodness. I had had a lot of explaining you,
- 11:44Speaker 1: because you know, he thinks I'm just watching Hallmark upstairs.
- 11:47Speaker 1: He doesn't know. He doesn't know what kind of Hallmark
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm watching. Our incomes logan. I feel like we didn't
- 11:54Speaker 1: get a lot of logan, Like I don't think they
- 11:56Speaker 1: rushed the logan intro. But the guys do compliment his
- 11:59Speaker 1: gal and he's like, I'm made of myself. So's he's
- 12:03Speaker 1: a crafty fellow. He knits? Yeah, oh nits. That's interesting.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I was considered. I thought maybe he cut them off.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I don't know, you think he cut the fingers off
- 12:14Speaker 1: of a pre made pair of gloves and then considered
- 12:16Speaker 1: that making them. I would Oh, I did not get
- 12:19Speaker 1: that well logan weigh in girls on home or at
- 12:23Speaker 1: gmail dot com. I got the impression that he had
- 12:25Speaker 1: crafted them out. So ya logan. We didn't get a
- 12:29Speaker 1: lot of logan. No, And I don't know if I
- 12:31Speaker 1: even got enough to make a well rounded not in
- 12:35Speaker 1: this introduction. I just think, Yeah, next step comes in
- 12:40Speaker 1: who I called the rockstar who was going to steal
- 12:43Speaker 1: Christmas Rustin, like justin with an R. Those are his words.
- 12:49Speaker 1: You never heard the name Rustin before. I kind of
- 12:51Speaker 1: like it. Yeah, he comes in with his bad boy energy. Look,
- 12:55Speaker 1: the ladies who watch Hallmark love a bad boy, do
- 12:59Speaker 1: they not? His name is Tyler Hines indeed, and a
- 13:02Speaker 1: bad boy with a heart of gold. Mm hmm. And
- 13:04Speaker 1: when I saw Rustin, I was like, Oh, Rustin's going
- 13:07Speaker 1: to give Tyler a run for his money. I if
- 13:10Speaker 1: this was a vote in show, I think Rustin would
- 13:14Speaker 1: run away with him. That's interesting. Now, because of filming constraints,
- 13:19Speaker 1: obviously they wouldn't. That couldn't happen. But I would love
- 13:22Speaker 1: to see the version of the show where fans were
- 13:24Speaker 1: voting mm yeah. Well, followed by Rustin, we have Marcus.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Marcus comes in Clock's Gabriel and he's like, we look
- 13:32Speaker 1: like we could be brothers, which just made me laugh.
- 13:34Speaker 1: We don't learn a lot about Marcus either when he
- 13:37Speaker 1: comes in. But this is my least favorite part of
- 13:40Speaker 1: this episode because Rustin points at Marcus, points at the
- 13:45Speaker 1: mantle and goes last one in, first one to go, yeah,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I don't want don't Why are you doing that? Because
- 13:50Speaker 1: the vibe of this show is so like, yes, we
- 13:54Speaker 1: all want to win, but they really do seem to
- 13:57Speaker 1: develop these friendships and root for each other and get
- 13:59Speaker 1: excited for each other throughout the episode, and so right
- 14:04Speaker 1: off the bat to put that competitive energy out there,
- 14:08Speaker 1: I did not love it. I'm going to be fully honest.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Do you want to talk about your early faves after
- 14:14Speaker 1: these intros? Based on looks alone, I gotta tell you
- 14:19Speaker 1: Rustin is probably my early fave, But now I'm like, oh,
- 14:22Speaker 1: I don't like the things that you just said about him,
- 14:25Speaker 1: So not the things you said, but what he said. Sure,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I don't think I caught that. Oh yeah, but he's
- 14:33Speaker 1: an early fave. Davy is really something else. Drake. I
- 14:40Speaker 1: love a long haired dude. I think that's why Rust
- 14:44Speaker 1: and Drake stand out to me the most. Yeah. I
- 14:48Speaker 1: was really charmed by Robbie when he came in. I
- 14:50Speaker 1: just thought he was real sweet. I am not typically
- 14:54Speaker 1: drawn to the bad boys. Well, I think Robbie is
- 14:57Speaker 1: the exact opposite of that. And I just can't get
- 15:00Speaker 1: over that little face on Gabriel. So are those your
- 15:04Speaker 1: like number ones? Yeah, I mean there are guys that
- 15:07Speaker 1: I'm excited to see more from. Yeah, why don't we
- 15:10Speaker 1: take a quick break and we're gonna come right back
- 15:13Speaker 1: with our Festive face Off Challenge. We're back. Let's talk
- 15:25Speaker 1: about how this show is set up. So every episode
- 15:29Speaker 1: we're going to get a festive face off challenge, some
- 15:32Speaker 1: silly holiday based activity whose main purpose is to grant
- 15:36Speaker 1: the winner an advantage to use in the second challenge
- 15:40Speaker 1: of the day. Right, This is very common in like
- 15:44Speaker 1: real reality competition shows. Survivor I think does something like this,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Sure Survivor, Well, they do a Yeah, they do a
- 15:54Speaker 1: reward challenge, basically a reward challenge. Yeah, because the winner
- 15:59Speaker 1: gets an advantage and that like big next, Big competition. Okay, yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 1: then The star Quality Challenge is designed to test their
- 16:07Speaker 1: abilities as actors and all the things that the encounters,
- 16:10Speaker 1: so their acting challenges and modeling challenges and other sorts
- 16:13Speaker 1: of performance based challenges in these star Quality moments. So
- 16:19Speaker 1: our first festive face off challenge. Let's talk about JB
- 16:23Speaker 1: for a second. Oh my gosh, I lovingly call him JB.
- 16:27Speaker 1: That is our friend, Like he's our friend exactly, JB
- 16:31Speaker 1: and MP Man. The guy has so much energy, so
- 16:36Speaker 1: much energy, and you know what I can't get past.
- 16:41Speaker 1: His eyebrows are perfection. I wonder if he does like
- 16:44Speaker 1: a thread situation. Oh, I'm gonna spake closer attention to
- 16:48Speaker 1: his eyebrows. You've never noticed are just so good? No,
- 16:52Speaker 1: I haven't. Anyway, he just will now bust in with
- 16:55Speaker 1: all this energy and hype. And I think that's why
- 16:58Speaker 1: he's like the perfect I mean, I know this show
- 17:01Speaker 1: is his baby, but he's also the perfect host of
- 17:03Speaker 1: it because he's he's he is the hype man, right,
- 17:08Speaker 1: he is the hype man. Look, I think I think
- 17:12Speaker 1: this show isn't for everybody. I've seen people who are
- 17:15Speaker 1: not all in on this show. I am all in
- 17:17Speaker 1: on this show. When I turn this on. I texted you,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I've told you multiple times. I just love this show.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It just brings me joy. And when we get the
- 17:24Speaker 1: first can I get a ho ho ho of the season,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm like, did you shout ho handah? Yeah, I'm ho
- 17:29Speaker 1: ho ho ing right back at it from the couch. Absolutely,
- 17:32Speaker 1: me too. Yeah, I'm so. The world is such a mess.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It is so joyfilled and happy. And to watch people
- 17:41Speaker 1: just creating this show just for the purpose of having fun.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I mean you could go deeper, you could be like,
- 17:47Speaker 1: this is a career opportunity for you guys, and of
- 17:49Speaker 1: course it is, but the net result of this show
- 17:53Speaker 1: is just fun for the viewer. Yeah, and I am
- 17:56Speaker 1: all in. Yeah, I'm all in. Give me the peppermint twizz,
- 18:00Speaker 1: give me every Christmas metaphor in the land, and give
- 18:05Speaker 1: me some hot sandus. Okay, so let's talk about the Santas.
- 18:11Speaker 1: They're Santa personas, theyre's Santa personas. At first, we've got
- 18:16Speaker 1: Robbie and he's Santa for the pause. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 18:18Speaker 1: got a tail, he's got ears, and he says Merry
- 18:22Speaker 1: Christmas to all who don't bite. Yeah, I'm into it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I'm into it too. Look, the thing is here. What
- 18:28Speaker 1: the guys needed to do is whatever they picked, they
- 18:30Speaker 1: just needed to go all in. You didn't need to
- 18:33Speaker 1: have the most unique take. You just needed to lean in.
- 18:36Speaker 1: You needed to be dynamic on stage. You needed to
- 18:38Speaker 1: have an angle. And Melissa's like, I think it's criminal
- 18:40Speaker 1: that there's not a sand for dogs. Me too, me too,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, I gotta shout out the guys. I wonder
- 18:46Speaker 1: how much time they did have to like brainstorm there.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I mean, obviously on they were cold. Thirty minutes. That's
- 18:54Speaker 1: what Jonathan says, You've got thirty minutes to complete this challenge.
- 18:56Speaker 1: That's what we see. I'm just wondering if like they
- 18:59Speaker 1: knew going into because that's what I'm saying is like,
- 19:02Speaker 1: that's impressive. If somebody said, Wendy, you need to make
- 19:04Speaker 1: a missus clause and lean into the persona. I got
- 19:08Speaker 1: to process that. I told her I need three days
- 19:10Speaker 1: and chatgy Betita like helped me come up with some ideas. Right,
- 19:14Speaker 1: So I'm impressed with what they came up with. A
- 19:19Speaker 1: thousand percent agree with you and I love dogs, so yay, Robbie.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I thought it was great. Out of the gate. I
- 19:24Speaker 1: thought Robbie was great out of the gate. Next up
- 19:27Speaker 1: the heartbreaker Gabriel. He panicked. It's like watching a slow
- 19:32Speaker 1: car crash and I just want to hug this man.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I know, here's what I really wanted. The first of all,
- 19:38Speaker 1: Melissa and Jonathan were lovely and encouraging, and Melisa was like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: it's okay, like she was trying to draw things out
- 19:44Speaker 1: of him. This is what I This is what I
- 19:47Speaker 1: wish I could have said to Gabriel in that moment,
- 19:50Speaker 1: and then later on in this episode also is just
- 19:52Speaker 1: say something. What was he penguin Santa or something? Yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 1: because he was from Wyoming where it's cold. He was
- 19:57Speaker 1: trying to embody the cold weather and he had the
- 19:59Speaker 1: pengu and I think he went in with like an
- 20:03Speaker 1: idea of what he wanted to say, and then that
- 20:05Speaker 1: flew out of his head. As I can totally understand,
- 20:10Speaker 1: have you heard me on this podcast, I'll like talk
- 20:11Speaker 1: and then like word salad comes out. So I would
- 20:14Speaker 1: have panic so totally. But in that moment, it's like,
- 20:18Speaker 1: forget where you were going to say and just say something,
- 20:20Speaker 1: Just say anything. Yeah, it hurt me to watch. It
- 20:23Speaker 1: was hard to see Rustin's next rockstar Santa. Admittedly I
- 20:28Speaker 1: was like thinking of merch ideas during this moment. I
- 20:32Speaker 1: was like, I'm into rock star Santa. I just oh,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm into rockstar Santa. Okay, But then he says,
- 20:42Speaker 1: my heart is big, but inside I'm a star and
- 20:45Speaker 1: he's wearing a heart with a star in the middle
- 20:47Speaker 1: of it. Well, you see, I think I'm just was
- 20:49Speaker 1: like in a haze glitter and just sad hair what yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: I missed that as well. It's okay to be like
- 21:00Speaker 1: I'm a star, right, because like you can tell yourself
- 21:03Speaker 1: these things, right, that's right, you gotta tell yourself. But
- 21:05Speaker 1: maybe those are inside voices and not like baby, I'm
- 21:10Speaker 1: a you know. Yeah. He then sings. He sings to Melissa, Well,
- 21:15Speaker 1: he's a musician. I've got a great voice. And if
- 21:17Speaker 1: we even talked about that earlier, he is a musician,
- 21:19Speaker 1: So lean into that. I love that he sings into
- 21:22Speaker 1: a like a Santa Spatula. Am I'm remembering that correctly? Okay? Yeah, look,
- 21:28Speaker 1: let the people know who you are. Lean into your persona.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And he was great on stage. He was dynamic and
- 21:34Speaker 1: he commanded the space. So I will give him that
- 21:38Speaker 1: Logan's Wizards Anta. He comes out in full wizard regalia.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I'm not into it, Okay, are you not into it?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Because you're like the fantasy thing doesn't vibe for me?
- 21:51Speaker 1: That's one okay. I'm also not into the costume because
- 21:54Speaker 1: I can't see you. Yes, I think that's an excellent point.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So here's what I liked about it. First of all,
- 22:00Speaker 1: as we talked about, we didn't learn a whole lot
- 22:02Speaker 1: about Logan up top. So I feel like now I'm
- 22:04Speaker 1: all in, Like I know who Logan is. Like, this
- 22:06Speaker 1: guy makes sense to me now. And when he comes out,
- 22:08Speaker 1: here's what I liked. He went for it, like his
- 22:11Speaker 1: costume was detailed, it lit up, he had a story
- 22:15Speaker 1: to tell when he came up there. But I think
- 22:18Speaker 1: you're right, you've got to balance that with the whole
- 22:21Speaker 1: point is selling us you face, so we need to
- 22:25Speaker 1: see you as well. I agree. Davy's next, Davey comes
- 22:30Speaker 1: out again. Know who you are. Davey comes out and
- 22:33Speaker 1: he's mister liftmus He does a rhyme about lifting weights,
- 22:37Speaker 1: but he's wearing a shirt and Davy, look, I love
- 22:41Speaker 1: a humble king, but let's be serious. Your shirt says
- 22:44Speaker 1: it's not a dadbod, it's a father figure. There is
- 22:47Speaker 1: no world in which Davy's rocking a dadbod. He makes
- 22:51Speaker 1: a dadbod comment later on in the episode. I mean
- 22:53Speaker 1: maybe in thirty years. No, I understand, but I also
- 22:57Speaker 1: think it's almost like rage bait, you know, okay, dad
- 23:02Speaker 1: bond because he looks like he looks he does double
- 23:06Speaker 1: duty here for me though, because he comes out and
- 23:07Speaker 1: he like does this like miming of like lifting weights.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Are you embarrassed a little bit? But no, I loved it.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I loved it. He's like, I'm mister liftmus I loved it.
- 23:16Speaker 1: And then he shows that his suit has his son's
- 23:20Speaker 1: name on it because he's a brand new baby boy
- 23:22Speaker 1: Sodo at home, and I was like, he's fire and ice.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I think he knows how to get to the moms
- 23:28Speaker 1: who are watching. I know, Oh I all I could
- 23:32Speaker 1: think about was wanting to be lifted over him. I
- 23:36Speaker 1: want it to be the shoulder press that he was doing.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I don't know, like the man is yeah, good looking,
- 23:44Speaker 1: uh huh. Next up, Craig. Craig is Santini. I loved
- 23:49Speaker 1: this so much because he is the only one who
- 23:54Speaker 1: who created a character that was not what was presented, Like,
- 24:00Speaker 1: he didn't lean into like I lift. So therefore on
- 24:03Speaker 1: mister Lyftomus, you know what I mean? Yes, I liked it.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He had like a big Santa belly. But now that
- 24:11Speaker 1: I say that, I need to see what we're working
- 24:14Speaker 1: with here, So don't hide the goods with a big
- 24:18Speaker 1: fake Santa belly. Oh, I see what you're saying, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: But I did love the character of it all. Yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 1: he's got the New York skyline made of ribbon on
- 24:27Speaker 1: the back of the Santa suit. That was great, rapping
- 24:29Speaker 1: paper torch for the Statue of Liberty. He went all in,
- 24:32Speaker 1: created a character. Loved it. Marcus comes in. Marcus is
- 24:38Speaker 1: another one I don't have a lot of information about.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I don't feel like I know who he is. Even
- 24:42Speaker 1: by the end of this episode, I can't even remember
- 24:45Speaker 1: what he came in as. He's super Sanna. He wants
- 24:47Speaker 1: to slay the day. Okay, it's fine. He's got a
- 24:51Speaker 1: lot of energy. Drake comes in and catwalks down and
- 24:56Speaker 1: he's got that Golden Retriever smile. You know. Drake's kind
- 24:59Speaker 1: of ring like a football jersey kind of that he
- 25:02Speaker 1: had added across to because he talks about faith and
- 25:05Speaker 1: family being important to him. And before he goes on,
- 25:08Speaker 1: he says that he's worried that maybe he didn't do enough.
- 25:11Speaker 1: It's not the biggest swing of the bunch. Do you
- 25:15Speaker 1: think he was like, my character is going My Santa
- 25:19Speaker 1: character is going to be like a high end fashion model.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Sure maybe maybe, but also trying to show a little
- 25:25Speaker 1: bit like who he was with his like faith and
- 25:28Speaker 1: well and for me, he had a strong presence when
- 25:31Speaker 1: he came out, and so that goes a long way
- 25:34Speaker 1: beyond the costume. Okay, Angel's next, and Angel is Santa Angel.
- 25:39Speaker 1: He says, I'm here to bless anybody who's ever been
- 25:42Speaker 1: ignored or believed no words. I was very touch Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I think Jonathan almost cried I need some more backstory
- 25:51Speaker 1: there though, right where does that come from? Experience? Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 1: I would love to know more. I wish we could
- 25:57Speaker 1: have like dialed down into how do you come up
- 26:00Speaker 1: with that line? What was his motivation? Like, give give
- 26:04Speaker 1: me more backstory here? I loved that. And finally Jake
- 26:07Speaker 1: comes out, he's buff Sanna, and this is where he
- 26:09Speaker 1: starts to talk about his football injury that led to
- 26:12Speaker 1: him finding a new passion. He gives me strong Travis
- 26:16Speaker 1: Kelce vibe totally, and I was like, Okay, there's a
- 26:19Speaker 1: space for that on Hallmark. I think, yeah, they've been
- 26:22Speaker 1: really leaning into those those football movies, you know, Like
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think there's like crossover there into like the football
- 26:31Speaker 1: stereotype guy for sure. So yeah, there's a space for him.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't hate it, but he's not the winner. Craig
- 26:39Speaker 1: as Santini wins the challenge? Are you surprised by I'm
- 26:44Speaker 1: not surprised. I thought he was certainly one of the
- 26:46Speaker 1: top three. I thought Robbie was great. Looking at this list,
- 26:49Speaker 1: I think Robbie, Rustin, and Craig, maybe Davy too. Honestly,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I thought most of them did pretty well. You know,
- 26:56Speaker 1: it's funny. While I liked Santini, I thought maybe it
- 27:01Speaker 1: might have read a little cheesy m and so I
- 27:05Speaker 1: was kind of surprised. Craig one though, were you infessive
- 27:08Speaker 1: base off? Yeah? Interesting? And there's also you know, we
- 27:12Speaker 1: don't see their whole moment, right, I know that's interesting.
- 27:16Speaker 1: We only see I would love give me a director's cut.
- 27:20Speaker 1: With that, we head to the Star Quality Challenge. I
- 27:24Speaker 1: have a question for you. Yes, based on this first
- 27:26Speaker 1: Star Quality Challenge alone, do you think we're leveling up
- 27:29Speaker 1: the difficulty in terms of what we're asking our actors
- 27:34Speaker 1: to do. Certainly when you have to, you know, act
- 27:38Speaker 1: on skis and you've never skied before, you ever skied before?
- 27:42Speaker 1: I have, and I'm terrible. Skiing is not a skill
- 27:45Speaker 1: you can pick up in twenty minutes. Yeah, I am
- 27:48Speaker 1: kind of surprised. I'm trying to compare it to last year,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and I don't remember a lot of the Star Quality
- 27:53Speaker 1: challenges other than like some acting challenges, there was an
- 27:58Speaker 1: ice skating one. Oh that Yeah, that's difficult if you
- 28:01Speaker 1: have never ice skated, So I mean maybe that's kind
- 28:04Speaker 1: of the same plane, Like you're doing something physical that
- 28:07Speaker 1: if you've never done before, you are at a disadvantage. Sure,
- 28:10Speaker 1: so you've got to bring it in the acting part
- 28:12Speaker 1: of it, or just roll with whatever happened. I just
- 28:15Speaker 1: thought it was a real choice to make these guys
- 28:17Speaker 1: ski because skiing is not a thing that you could
- 28:20Speaker 1: just snap your fingers and pick up. In fact, I
- 28:21Speaker 1: think snowboarding is actually easier to pick up in a
- 28:25Speaker 1: couple minutes than skiing is. But here's here's a question
- 28:28Speaker 1: for you. If you're making a Hallmark movie and the
- 28:32Speaker 1: scene calls for skiing or snowboarding or ice skating, they're
- 28:36Speaker 1: not actually doing that. No, they just need to ski
- 28:40Speaker 1: in in that moment, right right. They're not also like
- 28:44Speaker 1: delivering a line or making like a meet cute or what.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Well.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I think they would absolutely. I think this is the
- 28:51Speaker 1: kind of thing that could absolutely happen where you like
- 28:53Speaker 1: ski up and you're like, oh can I help you? Fine?
- 28:55Speaker 1: But I think if you were a director filming it,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like you're gonna get like the best shot. So like
- 29:01Speaker 1: they'll do fourteen tape sure, or they'll have somebody come
- 29:04Speaker 1: in as like a body double and like ski their
- 29:08Speaker 1: way in and like do the big spray of snow
- 29:10Speaker 1: and all that stuff. So it just feels. So we're
- 29:14Speaker 1: in the mountains and we meet first of all. First
- 29:17Speaker 1: of all, Jonathan Melissa are in the most amazing Neon
- 29:20Speaker 1: ski suits. I loved it. They popped against the snow.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I thought it was roughun choice meon. I love it.
- 29:26Speaker 1: It was straight eighties. Yeah, ski's cool. You love it?
- 29:30Speaker 2: Huh?
- 29:30Speaker 1: I did love it, I really did. I Also I
- 29:33Speaker 1: didn't mention it, but the sweaters that Jonathan Melissa are
- 29:36Speaker 1: wearing in the festive face off. I did google Melissa's
- 29:40Speaker 1: It's from Bowden. It's so cute. Loved the colors. They're
- 29:43Speaker 1: joined by our first guest judge of the season, and
- 29:46Speaker 1: it's Janelle Parish. I love Janelle Parish. It's funny because
- 29:52Speaker 1: Jonathan introduces her. He does his sugar Plumb from last year,
- 29:56Speaker 1: which was a huge hit. Was it a huge hit?
- 30:00Speaker 1: It was a huge hit to me. You and I
- 30:01Speaker 1: we love that movie. I don't know in the Hallmark universe,
- 30:04Speaker 1: but I feel like people liked that movie. I think
- 30:07Speaker 1: she's very popular on the network now. It was a
- 30:09Speaker 1: great get. I love that she was and she has
- 30:12Speaker 1: a ton of experience outside of Hallmark too, obviously, so
- 30:17Speaker 1: I'm very excited. I did wonder, and I wondered this
- 30:21Speaker 1: last year or too. When the guys are like, Janelle
- 30:23Speaker 1: Parish is here, I like, do they actually know who
- 30:25Speaker 1: that is? Yeah? Good question. I don't know. I always
- 30:28Speaker 1: wonder that too, Like are they frontloaded with that information?
- 30:31Speaker 1: I don't know. They're like, get excited, it's Janelle Parish.
- 30:33Speaker 1: And when we say it's Janelle Parish, they're like, oh
- 30:35Speaker 1: my gosh, yeah, great question. So their assignment is they
- 30:39Speaker 1: got to do a skiing like you said, meet cute scene.
- 30:42Speaker 1: And just like last season, this first acting challenge, there's
- 30:45Speaker 1: two guys acting alongside. That is another layer to how
- 30:49Speaker 1: difficult the challenge is. Yeah, and we'll see that really
- 30:54Speaker 1: only one of the pairs in the two guys interact
- 30:57Speaker 1: with each other. Because let me tell you, I'm not
- 31:00Speaker 1: an actor, but I've been in a professional setting with
- 31:05Speaker 1: somebody else when maybe you're like competing against, but you know,
- 31:09Speaker 1: not so overtly competing against. I just kind of like
- 31:12Speaker 1: roll over, Oh, sure, me too. I'm not I'm not
- 31:15Speaker 1: gonna get I'm not gonna be the loudest in the group. No,
- 31:18Speaker 1: that is not who I am. So if you put
- 31:21Speaker 1: me in a scene like this, I would just be like,
- 31:24Speaker 1: take it away. You know, it's difficult. Craig's advantage from
- 31:30Speaker 1: the festive face off is that he gets to choose
- 31:32Speaker 1: the order and he chooses to go last. To love
- 31:36Speaker 1: that strategy, Yeah, it's the way to do it. It
- 31:38Speaker 1: gives you more practice skiing, more time to learn your lines,
- 31:42Speaker 1: especially in a scene like this. And then they pair
- 31:45Speaker 1: up for this challenge and that kind of was awkward
- 31:49Speaker 1: to me, honestly, when they're like it was like giving
- 31:52Speaker 1: you know, school, you're trying a partner in the classroom,
- 31:55Speaker 1: And I was like, gosh, yeah, because I feel like
- 31:58Speaker 1: angel was last to somebody, right, was it Angela and
- 32:01Speaker 1: Davey who ended up parenting? Yeah? You know what we
- 32:05Speaker 1: didn't talk about early on. And I'm sorry to throw
- 32:08Speaker 1: this wrench into the conversation, but Gabriel and Davey know
- 32:12Speaker 1: each other. Oh yeah, they knew of each other, and
- 32:17Speaker 1: I believe they said they were roommates at one time.
- 32:19Speaker 1: So going into a competition where you know somebody, don't
- 32:22Speaker 1: you feel like that's a little bit of an advantage. Yes,
- 32:26Speaker 1: And then I wondered if the other guys felt threatened
- 32:28Speaker 1: by that, Yeah, because they clock it early? Is it
- 32:33Speaker 1: in this episode? I think it is. The guys are
- 32:35Speaker 1: talking in the scene and Davey says something about Gabriel
- 32:37Speaker 1: and they're like, wait, you guys know each other. Rustin
- 32:40Speaker 1: is like, wait, you guys know each other? Yeah? Now
- 32:44Speaker 1: I get Rustin's feeling because if that were me and
- 32:47Speaker 1: I was solo in this house and I learned two
- 32:50Speaker 1: of the guys who also happened to be dropped dead
- 32:52Speaker 1: gorgeous models walking great alliance and their besties. So first up,
- 32:59Speaker 1: Davy Angel. Davey skis in first when he's laughing and
- 33:06Speaker 1: I can imagine what you're laughing about. Goggle the entire time.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Even Jonathan and Melissa are like, kick the goggles off
- 33:13Speaker 1: and they're huge on his face. There's these mirrored ski
- 33:16Speaker 1: goggles and it was distracting. It's like that DJ that
- 33:21Speaker 1: wears like the you know, like that you're talking about
- 33:27Speaker 1: that wears like the helmet. Are you talking about DJ
- 33:30Speaker 1: Lance Rock from Yogeba Gebba? No and not. I'm actually
- 33:34Speaker 1: talking about a legitimate DJ. It's daft Punk. Daft Punk.
- 33:39Speaker 1: It's a duo, an electronic music duo named daft Punk.
- 33:43Speaker 1: They were like those Okay, anyway, it was giving, it
- 33:47Speaker 1: was giving. I'm going to the moon. Yeah yeah, So
- 33:50Speaker 1: and these are the things you're like, does it matter what? Yeah?
- 33:53Speaker 1: It matters, because like, how can you connect with your
- 33:55Speaker 1: coastar have money Maker when they're just Janelle's just looking
- 33:59Speaker 1: back at her own face and your giant mirrored glasses, Like,
- 34:02Speaker 1: aren't actors supposed to be connecting like with their eyes
- 34:04Speaker 1: and all that stuff. So when he finally takes it off,
- 34:06Speaker 1: you're like, huh, phew, there he is. Then Schipitol Angel
- 34:10Speaker 1: swoops in. This is my favorite. He stumbles and he
- 34:13Speaker 1: was like, I was just knocked over by your beauty. Great,
- 34:15Speaker 1: well done, great recovery, right, and I think this, I think.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I think overall this pairing does fine. Janelle is great throughout.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I really loved her and she quacks. Oh my god,
- 34:28Speaker 1: it's so cute. I loved her so much in this.
- 34:30Speaker 1: It was like last year too, when we saw Rachel
- 34:33Speaker 1: Boston as a guest judge and she did a scene
- 34:35Speaker 1: over and over and over again, and I was like,
- 34:37Speaker 1: oh my god, she's so good. I loved Janelle Parrish
- 34:40Speaker 1: like she was so freaking adorable in this. I agree,
- 34:44Speaker 1: I agree she connected with all of them. Next up
- 34:47Speaker 1: Marcus and Robbie. Marcus comes in and I'm Marcus, I
- 34:50Speaker 1: think you're so handsome and you have this beautiful smile.
- 34:53Speaker 1: We need more from him, but hey, I there's nothing
- 34:56Speaker 1: remarkable to me about Marcus's performance. He like kind of stumbles, recovered,
- 35:00Speaker 1: looks great, does fine. Robbie comes in strong ski stop
- 35:06Speaker 1: mm hmm, almost a little snowspray. Yeah, Robbie was like
- 35:10Speaker 1: coaching March Marcus on some ski tips a lot ahead
- 35:12Speaker 1: of time. But Robbie, I laughed out loud, as someone
- 35:19Speaker 1: who messes up their words all the time. It totally
- 35:23Speaker 1: could have been me. I misspeak regularly. If you guys
- 35:28Speaker 1: didn't catch it. He calls her a beautiful jerk girl.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I don't even know how it happened, Just like the
- 35:34Speaker 1: words just get like, yeah, you know, messed up in
- 35:38Speaker 1: your brain? Did they only get one take? Yeah? I
- 35:40Speaker 1: think yeah, oh boy. But other than that, other than
- 35:45Speaker 1: that line, I thought his delivery was good. I thought
- 35:47Speaker 1: Robbie did great. Logan and Drake are up next. I
- 35:52Speaker 1: actually pretty much. I really liked Logan in this scene.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Logan's great. I still don't know anything about Logan. No,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I don't really know who he is. Oh, but he
- 35:59Speaker 1: was in terms of acting the most natural, smooth smooth. Yeah,
- 36:06Speaker 1: I thought so too. I have been on skis before
- 36:09Speaker 1: and fallen down. It's very difficult to get back up.
- 36:12Speaker 1: We all know the story about me falling off a
- 36:14Speaker 1: ski lift. Yes, I know, I don't on the snowboard.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Did you pinwheel with your snowboard at all? I don't
- 36:22Speaker 1: like skiing or snowboarding. It's not fun. But I was snowboarding.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I was in Tahoe with my family, boy that I liked,
- 36:30Speaker 1: who came on this trip with us. We got separated
- 36:32Speaker 1: getting on the ski lift. So I'm on the chair
- 36:35Speaker 1: by myself. Yeah, and I think maybe my brother was
- 36:38Speaker 1: in front of me and went the boy and I'm
- 36:42Speaker 1: we get to the top of the hill and you've
- 36:44Speaker 1: never been skiing, You like get to the top and
- 36:46Speaker 1: kind of like the mountain comes like right up underneath,
- 36:49Speaker 1: and you like ski or snowboard down a little hill
- 36:52Speaker 1: to get off. Well, I hesitated, and the little mountain
- 36:56Speaker 1: like drops away from you, and then I panicked, and
- 37:00Speaker 1: so I jumped. But then you jumped from the from
- 37:05Speaker 1: the chair. Yeah, I mean it was only like a
- 37:07Speaker 1: like a several foot Driffall if you didn't jump, would
- 37:10Speaker 1: you just have I don't know that's riding around me.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Would or would they have stopped it? I don't know
- 37:16Speaker 1: what would have happened. But I panicked, Oh my god. Okay,
- 37:19Speaker 1: but that's not the worst part because then I'm a
- 37:24Speaker 1: few minutes later snowboarding wh whosh. Then my snowboard catches
- 37:29Speaker 1: I flip completely backwards, like I am like impressed into
- 37:34Speaker 1: the snow. Oh my hat one direction, all my gloves,
- 37:37Speaker 1: everything is off, God bless everything. This is pre the
- 37:41Speaker 1: year two thousand. This was not when helmets were in
- 37:44Speaker 1: ubiquity slopes. I mean I went down. The ski patrol
- 37:49Speaker 1: had to come and snowmobile me off the mountain because
- 37:52Speaker 1: I sprained my wrists. Oh boy, I had to go
- 37:55Speaker 1: to the hospital. I had a concussion probably. Oh. My
- 37:59Speaker 1: mom had to take me to the hospital. Left my
- 38:01Speaker 1: brother and this dude and my dad scan all day.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Oh my god. And then I come back to the
- 38:09Speaker 1: mountain with my mom to pick everybody up. My arm
- 38:12Speaker 1: is in a sling and someone at the bottom, someone
- 38:15Speaker 1: in a uniform. He was like, oh, are you the
- 38:17Speaker 1: girl who fell off the lift? And I go yeah,
- 38:21Speaker 1: And he goes, is that how you wreck your wrist?
- 38:23Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm just a bat snowboarder on
- 38:30Speaker 2: top of being a panic the girl who jumped off.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The ski lift. That was the last time I snowboard,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I imagine, all right, next up Gabriel and rest in Gabriel.
- 38:44Speaker 1: He he you can't remember his lines, Like I feel
- 38:47Speaker 1: that pain to say something. What like, I don't know,
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'm not quick like that either. I'm defending this man
- 38:53Speaker 1: so hard. I know, I just I could. I felt
- 38:57Speaker 1: like sick in my stomach for him in that moment
- 38:59Speaker 1: because I could feel that cold panic. Yeah, that is
- 39:02Speaker 1: coursing through your veins, poor dude. And then Rusten comes in.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Rustin comes in, He's like I got it, and then
- 39:10Speaker 1: Gabriel's like trying to recover. He's like, no, that's okay,
- 39:13Speaker 1: and Russen's like I'll take it from here. Yeah. It
- 39:16Speaker 1: kind of steps all over him a little bit. What
- 39:18Speaker 1: this this is now Rustin's turn? Right? For sure? Is
- 39:22Speaker 1: Rustin supposed to be like, ok, I'm gonna give this
- 39:24Speaker 1: guy like another ten minutes to like figure it out,
- 39:27Speaker 1: or like here I am and I'm gonna save my lines. Yeah, no,
- 39:30Speaker 1: no blame to Rustin in this moment. I actually appreciated
- 39:33Speaker 1: that Gabriel like tried to take a little bit of
- 39:35Speaker 1: control back and just like at least have a moment there.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Then takes off his helmet. He's got that long hair.
- 39:42Speaker 1: It kind of like shakes it out. I'm gonna do it,
- 39:43Speaker 1: m rockstars, Hannah. He looks good. He does a nice job.
- 39:47Speaker 1: He connects with her, charms the snowpants off of her. Finally,
- 39:53Speaker 1: our final pairing is Craig and Jake. Jake goes first.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Jake also forgets his lines, but recovers a little bit
- 40:01Speaker 1: more quickly than Gabe does. She also walks away leaving
- 40:05Speaker 1: one ski.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Oh my god, I wish they would have shown it,
- 40:10Speaker 3: because you see that the ski is there, and I'm
- 40:12Speaker 3: just imagining him one ski on and then one foot
- 40:16Speaker 3: kind of like push push.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Just I love it. I just love that you see
- 40:26Speaker 1: the ski left behind. I really want the other camera
- 40:29Speaker 1: angle of Joe. Remember Jake, we love you so much,
- 40:37Speaker 1: so much. I love Jaking so much. Guys, the writing
- 40:40Speaker 1: is on the wall. Okay, go ahead. Craig comes in.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Craig solid, He's smooth, he's great. He looks at her,
- 40:47Speaker 1: he says something ulisses like, oh he put a little
- 40:49Speaker 1: flavor on that line. Love it. M hmm. I thought
- 40:52Speaker 1: he did a nice job, easy peasy. He's smart to
- 40:56Speaker 1: go last. Although I do think Marcus is the one
- 41:00Speaker 1: who said, I don't know, like you just have all
- 41:02Speaker 1: that time to get in your head. That is fair too,
- 41:06Speaker 1: because you're watching all the guys do it. Yeah, so
- 41:08Speaker 1: I think there's something to be said for that. Let's
- 41:10Speaker 1: take a quick break and we're gonna come right back
- 41:11Speaker 1: and talk about the elimination ceremony. We're back in the
- 41:23Speaker 1: elimination cave. I love the elimination cave. Everyone looks so good.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Everybody's so sparkly and pretty. Yeah, Melissa's got a great
- 41:31Speaker 1: glittery dress. I love Janelle's dress. The dudes stroll in
- 41:35Speaker 1: nicely tailored suits. They announced at the end of the
- 41:38Speaker 1: challenge that we had a twist that in every pairing,
- 41:42Speaker 1: one person would be safe and one person would be
- 41:45Speaker 1: in danger of being eliminated. You know, I had forgotten
- 41:48Speaker 1: about that because it didn't seem like they really they
- 41:50Speaker 1: should have paired the dudes up at during the elimination
- 41:54Speaker 1: challenge at that point, you know, so so step forward
- 41:57Speaker 1: and yeah, so there's more attention on, like which one's
- 42:01Speaker 1: gonna go home? Yeah, so we learn they announced the
- 42:05Speaker 1: winner of the challenge right up top. Were you surprised
- 42:09Speaker 1: that it is Rustin rock Star, Sanna, No, it wasn't
- 42:13Speaker 1: totally surprised. I think he did really well. I think
- 42:17Speaker 1: some of the other guys did really well too, So
- 42:20Speaker 1: I'm not quite sure, Like what put Rustin over the edge? Like,
- 42:25Speaker 1: what was the tipping point that our judges thought he
- 42:29Speaker 1: was the winner? I mean I thought he did well.
- 42:31Speaker 1: What about you? Yeah, I thought he did well too.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I would agree with you. There were several performances that
- 42:35Speaker 1: I would have said could have won. I thought Angel's
- 42:38Speaker 1: choice to say you just knocked me over with your
- 42:40Speaker 1: beauty was a great one, because things are gonna happen.
- 42:43Speaker 1: People trip, people fall, and it's what you do in
- 42:46Speaker 1: that moment to keep going. I also thought Logan and
- 42:50Speaker 1: Craig were great. Robbie I actually thought his performance was good.
- 42:55Speaker 1: It's just that flub of a line, and to me
- 42:57Speaker 1: it feels like a little bit unfair to put it
- 42:59Speaker 1: all on that, Like how often do people misspeak? Right?
- 43:03Speaker 1: So Logan, Angel, Craig, and Marcus are declared safe and
- 43:08Speaker 1: then that leaves Davy, Drake, Gabriel, Jake, and Robbie in
- 43:12Speaker 1: the bottom five. Yeah, they quickly give Davy and Robbie
- 43:17Speaker 1: their safety. Yes, they said they weren't the strongest performances,
- 43:20Speaker 1: but you guys are safe. So our bottom three are Jake, Drake,
- 43:23Speaker 1: and Gabriel, and the three of them just look like
- 43:25Speaker 1: they're all gonna burst into tears. I know this was
- 43:28Speaker 1: so hard to watch. Jonathan says. The camera loves Jake.
- 43:32Speaker 1: He says, Drake has infectious energy and Gabriel has heart,
- 43:37Speaker 1: and then we eliminate Jake. Bye, Jake, Jake, we hardly
- 43:43Speaker 1: knew you. Jonathan gets teery. He talks about brotherhood and
- 43:48Speaker 1: finding your purpose and he knows there's good things out
- 43:51Speaker 1: there for him, and Jake seems genuinely sad to be
- 43:55Speaker 1: going home. Do you think I'm not questioning Jabe here
- 44:00Speaker 1: at all? Do you think he's this emotionally invested in
- 44:04Speaker 1: these guys already that you get teary eyed when, like
- 44:09Speaker 1: the first guy goes home. I think he's invested in
- 44:11Speaker 1: their journey. I imagine coming at it from the this
- 44:16Speaker 1: is the job I know I was meant to have.
- 44:18Speaker 1: And if you had that feeling about yourself and it
- 44:21Speaker 1: was just a matter of figuring out how to get there,
- 44:23Speaker 1: and then you look at these guys who want that
- 44:26Speaker 1: same thing. Is there a part of you who's like,
- 44:28Speaker 1: I know what it's like to know what I meant
- 44:31Speaker 1: to do but not be there yet totally? Yeah, you
- 44:35Speaker 1: can be super empathetic in that situation. Look, also, he's
- 44:39Speaker 1: a great actor, so who knows exactly. I buy it,
- 44:42Speaker 1: I get emotions. I buy it too. I would I
- 44:44Speaker 1: would cry too, probably, sure if I just met this person. Sure,
- 44:48Speaker 1: you know Robbie's plotting in a good way, in a
- 44:51Speaker 1: good way, because he's like I just was on the Yeah,
- 44:56Speaker 1: I'm in the bottom was he in the he was
- 44:58Speaker 1: in the bottom five? Aren't you?
- 45:00Speaker 2: Like?
- 45:01Speaker 1: What do I gonna do? I gotta turn it around? Yeah,
- 45:04Speaker 1: your brain is working here, like he's plotting his next
- 45:07Speaker 1: move in a good way, in a good way. Yeah.
