- 0:04Speaker 3: We went to the grocery store and I did the
- 0:07Speaker 3: thing where I didn't buy the thing.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I took a picture of it.
- 0:10Speaker 3: But I was thinking about you both when I saw it,
- 0:14Speaker 3: and if if we were buying each other things, I
- 0:17Speaker 3: would have brought this home for you.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Spam.
- 0:20Speaker 3: But it's it's macadamia nuts, spam flavored, Oh, Macadamian nuts.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Why didn't you buy that?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Well, look at how much they are.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh so we're not worth ten dollars and forty nine
- 0:35Speaker 2: cents to you.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Ten dollars and forty nine cents for a little jar
- 0:40Speaker 3: of spam flavored macedamia nuts. Sam, And it's just I
- 0:46Speaker 3: thought we agreed we weren't buying things anymore.
- 0:49Speaker 2: No little fat bombs.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yeah those you wanted to try it, didn't you. Yeah,
- 0:55Speaker 1: it isn't that weird. Spam flavored macademias.
- 0:59Speaker 3: No, they love and horn well, I know they do,
- 1:01Speaker 3: but why do you got to put them with the macedamianus.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I don't know, spamidating spamanadium? Yeah, yeah, try it. Listen.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I got this list here that's food related, okay, and
- 1:16Speaker 2: it is a list it isn't it is an act list. Yes,
- 1:20Speaker 2: all right, well let me make sure we have this.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Here we go. Then it's Radio from Hell with another
- 1:27Speaker 2: list because people love a good list X ninety six.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So it's the ten riskiest riskiest foods to eat riskiest. Yeah,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and this is based on the fact that there's been
- 1:39Speaker 2: a lot of recalls of products. Oh okay, because outbreaks
- 1:43Speaker 2: of disease due to contaminated food. Oh.
- 1:46Speaker 3: This isn't like the blowfish that you No, No, this
- 1:49Speaker 3: is like foods that maybe really are like that are not.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's not that they're likely but more likely than other
- 1:57Speaker 2: foods to be contaminated with some sort of thing that
- 2:01Speaker 2: will hurt you. Okay, the riskiest foods according to experts,
- 2:06Speaker 2: And there's really sort of no surprises here. I think
- 2:09Speaker 2: deli meats. Yeah, I love them, yes, the del and
- 2:16Speaker 2: but but ever since that bores head thing, I've been hesitant,
- 2:23Speaker 2: although I still eat them. But deli meats are especially
- 2:26Speaker 2: susceptible to listeria because the bacteria loves cool, damp places,
- 2:32Speaker 2: and that's like the inside of your refrigerator or the
- 2:35Speaker 2: deli case cucumbers. Large outbreaks of illnesses related to cucumbers
- 2:42Speaker 2: contaminated with salmonella. Ah, okay, So to reduce your risk
- 2:47Speaker 2: of consuming harmful bacteria on fresh produce, wash your produce,
- 2:53Speaker 2: wash your hands with warm, soapy water, and then rinse
- 2:56Speaker 2: all food. Rinse it, rinse it, rint it, even though
- 2:59Speaker 2: even it says ready to eat, rinse it. And now
- 3:03Speaker 2: you don't have to see a lot of people they
- 3:04Speaker 2: like they've been you've see in the store and now
- 3:06Speaker 2: don't You don't know if you see it much anymore.
- 3:08Speaker 2: But there was that special spray for your produce and
- 3:11Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. You don't have to do that. No,
- 3:13Speaker 2: just cool cool water and rinse it thoroughly, you know,
- 3:17Speaker 2: Like I here's one thing you don't think of doing though,
- 3:20Speaker 2: lemons and limes and oranges, I do. I people don't
- 3:25Speaker 2: think about that, but you should really rinse the outside
- 3:28Speaker 2: of them off raw milk and raw cheese. Well that
- 3:31Speaker 2: goes without Yes, Now this one makes me feel bad
- 3:36Speaker 2: because I like these a lot kotilla or Casso fresco
- 3:40Speaker 2: cheeses kotilla or Queso fresco. They again, you know, there's
- 3:47Speaker 2: their their listeria contamination due to how they're produced. Exactly,
- 3:52Speaker 2: you gotta be careful. Eggs. Yeah, yeah, eggs are frequently
- 3:59Speaker 2: associated with salmonilla. Bacteria can live inside. See, none of
- 4:03Speaker 2: this matters to Gina. She doesn't need any of this
- 4:05Speaker 2: stuff anyway. You might eat a little deli meat on
- 4:08Speaker 2: a cake.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You that kills everything. That's my that's my motto.
- 4:13Speaker 2: So you fry the deli meat, sure, oh you can.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Eggs can get salmonilla in them. It's rare, but it
- 4:21Speaker 2: can happen. Onions a lot of layers with the onions. Well,
- 4:28Speaker 2: here's what now, here's what we're talking about. Now, if
- 4:31Speaker 2: it's fresh produce, again, you should rinse the It seems weird,
- 4:34Speaker 2: but rinse the rinse your onions off. Uh, if you're
- 4:39Speaker 2: if you're gonna eat them raw, cooking them, it'll it'll
- 4:42Speaker 2: kill the bacteria. But also onions that you buy, people
- 4:48Speaker 2: will buy them already chopped up for them. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 2: don't do that. Buy a whole onion and chop it
- 4:53Speaker 2: on to yourself. Leafy greens again, you gotta be kcalls
- 4:58Speaker 2: for leafs. Got to careful rinse them and again, and
- 5:02Speaker 2: so many of those packaged greens now say, you know
- 5:06Speaker 2: already washed, you can just use them right out of
- 5:08Speaker 2: you probably should rinse them anyway. Carrots again, the same thing.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Rinse them, peel them, don't eat them with the peel
- 5:16Speaker 2: on basil, well, yes, fresh basil, dude, I guess sell
- 5:22Speaker 2: me greens. So the bottom line is you might be
- 5:27Speaker 2: terrified after hearing all of these things, but there are
- 5:32Speaker 2: there are in efforts to keep our food safe. Uh
- 5:35Speaker 2: and uh people. You know, people are trying to watch
- 5:39Speaker 2: out for this stuff, the FDA and the US Department
- 5:42Speaker 2: of Agriculture. But you can go to their websites if
- 5:45Speaker 2: you're handed any questions, fry everything.
- 5:51Speaker 4: You were gonna say, don't eat any of these things.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It kills it. Gina would eat, will eat onions as
- 5:57Speaker 2: long as their onion rings.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Well, you know, we looked up spam macadamia nuts. Yes,
- 6:04Speaker 4: and we can order them, oh for a lot less
- 6:08Speaker 4: than what you're paying the prices.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Okay, so it'll only cost you eight dollars.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Because they were almost eleven dollars.
- 6:16Speaker 2: So make sure you get us some for eight dollars. Yeah,
- 6:19Speaker 2: it's in the chat room there. Oh, okay.
- 6:21Speaker 4: You just go to the Hamakua, straight into the company,
- 6:25Speaker 4: straight to the website, right to the website that way,
- 6:28Speaker 4: we're not ordering through Amazon, it's directly through the website.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Those were probably those are That was probably at Hilo Hatties,
- 6:34Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You said you didn't go to I didn't go to
- 6:36Speaker 1: Heilo Hatties.
- 6:37Speaker 3: That was just the grocery store we were looking for. Okay,
- 6:40Speaker 3: let me address this quickly.
- 6:41Speaker 2: There are still The reason we went to.
- 6:44Speaker 3: The to the grocery store is because we had to
- 6:46Speaker 3: get some of that dent to fix.
- 6:50Speaker 2: It's that Joe's broken tooth.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Joe's broken tooth broke like super glue. Yeah, he broke
- 6:56Speaker 1: a rib and a tooth.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You can glue your tooth back on.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Well, it's a temporary thing, like.
- 7:02Speaker 3: It'll it'll hold it until you get back to your dentist,
- 7:06Speaker 3: which he's going today. But that's why we're at the
- 7:09Speaker 3: grocery stores buying dent to fix.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I didn't know you could do that.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Why why would you do.
- 7:15Speaker 3: That because you're on vacation and your tooth broken?
- 7:20Speaker 2: No cosmetics.
- 7:21Speaker 3: No, It's like if you have a hole, if there's
- 7:23Speaker 3: a hole, trying to plug up the holes, don't you know.
- 7:27Speaker 2: With the hole exposed and the food.
- 7:28Speaker 4: In it, and it gets infected and stuff.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he gets NAFTYIX. All right, we will better get
- 7:40Speaker 2: some of that for my first aid. Kids.
- 7:42Speaker 4: You should let's see fix it, then forget it. Look
- 7:48Speaker 4: at this tower. Wants to know which which tooth it was.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:52Speaker 2: It was over.
- 7:53Speaker 1: There wasn't right in front. It was the background.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Never looks at his mouth.
- 7:58Speaker 1: No I did. It was not in front. It was
- 8:01Speaker 1: not visible to me.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Catch one or one, all right,
