- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings On Demand on 97.1 Wash FM.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, it feels like fall showed up for work today.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Good morning. We're Toby and Chili in the morning. It's
- 0:12Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM. Why are you feeling good this morning?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Even though it is a bit crisp, it's definitely hoodie
- 0:19Speaker 2: weather early morning or something that'll keep you warm. You
- 0:22Speaker 2: might have to shed the layer by lunchtime, maybe this afternoon,
- 0:26Speaker 2: but you know what? For now, Just prepare. It's a
- 0:28Speaker 2: bit cool as we wake up. And can I tell you, Chili,
- 0:32Speaker 2: that's why I'm feeling good. One of the things that
- 0:34Speaker 2: when you move away from the area and you don't
- 0:38Speaker 2: live here, you realize how good it is to have seasons.
- 0:42Speaker 2: When I lived in Florida, there were two seasons, green
- 0:45Speaker 2: and brown. That was it. And when you're here, it's
- 0:49Speaker 2: like there's this progression of summer to fall to winter
- 0:53Speaker 2: to spring. You actually get to embrace those seasons. And
- 0:58Speaker 2: this is one of those mornings where you feel the
- 1:00Speaker 2: season's changing. And I just, to me, it's a cool
- 1:02Speaker 2: thing because it's a sign that the world's moving forward.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So that's kind of why I'm feeling good this morning.
- 1:07Speaker 2: What about you?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yesterday, by the way, was the first day of fall.
- 1:10Speaker 3: So there's that. And, you know, I'll just piggyback on you.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I'm feeling good that because I'm dressing warmer for the
- 1:16Speaker 3: outside weather, I'm not cold in the studio.
- 1:19Speaker 4: See?
- 1:19Speaker 3: So there's that.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I've got layers on.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Little things. And if I get warm, that's okay because
- 1:26Speaker 2: I have some layers that I can de-layer into in
- 1:30Speaker 2: the car that aren't as warm as this hoodie.
- 1:34Speaker 5: So.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Prepare yourself for some crisp fall weather as we head
- 1:38Speaker 2: out this morning. And if you feel so inclined, give
- 1:41Speaker 2: us a call and tell us why you're feeling good
- 1:42Speaker 2: this morning at 866-927-4361 as we get into this Wednesday
- 1:47Speaker 2: here at 97.1 Wash FM. With Toby and Chili in
- 1:50Speaker 2: the morning, top stories at the top of the hour.

- 2:12Speaker 3: an Iranian delegation at the U.N. in New York. This

- 2:20Speaker 3: Xi Jinping arrives in D.C. today for a state visit.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Reagan National getting back to normal after a several-hour ground stop.
- 2:30Speaker 3: The FAA says that an equipment outage prompted the stop

- 2:38Speaker 3: that ground stop was lifted around 10.30. A man is

- 2:45Speaker 3: yesterday at their home in Aldie, Virginia. Police say 60-year-old
- 2:50Speaker 3: Roger Bradford was arrested in Bedford, Pennsylvania. His wife, 54-year-old
- 2:55Speaker 3: Lisa Bradford, was found dead inside their home. An 87-year-old
- 3:01Speaker 3: Maryland man is facing murder charges after police say he
- 3:04Speaker 3: confessed to his pastor that he killed his roommate. Police

- 3:12Speaker 3: their Frederick home. Prince William County residents are not seeing
- 3:17Speaker 3: the tax relief that some county officials had promised from
- 3:21Speaker 3: booming data center revenue. The county reportedly brought in $ 550
- 3:25Speaker 3: million in new revenue last year, but spent all of it,
- 3:30Speaker 3: much of it, on schools. And according to a recent
- 3:33Speaker 3: survey of doctors, 77% say that patients search online first,
- 3:39Speaker 3: while 68% say that patients have brought up AI-generated health information. Still, 97%
- 3:46Speaker 3: of doctors say that patients trust their expertise. Forecast today,
- 3:51Speaker 3: more scattered showers with highs in the mid-60s. Right now,
- 3:55Speaker 3: 56 in Wheaton.
- 3:56Speaker 2: We call the news top stories at the top of
- 3:58Speaker 2: the hour here at 97.1 Wash FM with Toby and
- 4:01Speaker 2: Chili in the morning. And in a few minutes, we
- 4:04Speaker 2: turn our attention to making sure that your headspace is
- 4:07Speaker 2: where it should be to take on a brand new day.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Your morning mindset is on the way. If you need it,
- 4:12Speaker 2: stay there. You'll get it. This morning, we're going to
- 4:15Speaker 2: work to put you into that champion mindset with your
- 4:20Speaker 2: morning mindset here at 97.1 Wash FM. Toby and Chili
- 4:24Speaker 2: in the morning. Now, if you're just discovering this for
- 4:25Speaker 2: the first time.
- 4:26Speaker 3: At this time every morning, we find a quote and
- 4:29Speaker 3: share it with you to think about as you go
- 4:31Speaker 3: on the rest of your day, maybe to motivate you
- 4:34Speaker 3: or even inspire.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Speaking of champions, Serena Williams. Yes, needs no introduction. Incredible athlete,
- 4:42Speaker 2: incredible entrepreneur. She says, A champion is defined not by
- 4:46Speaker 2: their wins, but how they can recover when they fall.
- 4:51Speaker 2: A champion is defined not by their wins, but how
- 4:56Speaker 2: they can recover when they fall. Yesterday may not have
- 4:59Speaker 2: been your day. This morning may not have been your morning.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Maybe you lost patience. You blew up at somebody. You
- 5:06Speaker 2: blew a presentation. skipped a workout. Maybe you just made
- 5:11Speaker 2: the wrong call. That was yesterday. Today's scoreboard, zero. Starts
- 5:17Speaker 2: at zero. So how will you recover if you fell?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Think about it and press on because you've got this.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Serena Williams with an incredible morning mindset for you today.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And if you need it again, you'll find it. Toby
- 5:30Speaker 2: and Chili page, washfm.com. Hit us up on social media.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You'll find it there too. Floating around in the ethos. And,
- 5:37Speaker 2: of course, you can always email us directly if you
- 5:40Speaker 2: need to, and we'll send what we can your way.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Stay with us because in just a few minutes as
- 5:45Speaker 2: we get this show moving here at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 5:49Speaker 3: I don't know if you saw this news last week,
- 5:50Speaker 3: but Wendy's has come out or brought back their T-Rex burger. Oh, Lord.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It's pretty obnoxious in size. But I'm sure there are
- 5:57Speaker 3: people who have no problem eating it and finishing it
- 6:00Speaker 3: in one sitting. So we're going to talk about your
- 6:02Speaker 3: personal eating record. And if you want to jump in, 866-927-4361.
- 6:08Speaker 2: There's something to be said about appealing to one's gluttony.
- 6:13Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM, Toby and Tilly in the morning over
- 6:16Speaker 2: at Wendy's. They brought back something massive, something not officially
- 6:21Speaker 2: on the menu, but oh, Oh, Lord, people are talking
- 6:25Speaker 2: about it. And there are people who have actually consumed this.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The T-Rex burger. It's nine beef patties, nine slices of
- 6:32Speaker 3: cheese with lettuce, tomato pickles and a special sauce. So
- 6:35Speaker 3: just reading that hurts my stomach. Even if my hungry
- 6:38Speaker 3: is day, there's no way I could finish a T-Rex burger.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Nine patties. Patties. Good Lord, baby.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Although I feel like a bit of a hypocrite because
- 6:48Speaker 3: I have eaten a lot in one sitting before. I
- 6:51Speaker 3: think maybe in my 20s, I finished an entire box
- 6:55Speaker 3: of Girl Scout Thin Mints. That's probably my personal eating
- 6:59Speaker 3: record if I were to share one.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Once upon a time, I went to a restaurant called
- 7:03Speaker 2: Shula Steakhouse and I ordered a 72 ounce steak. You
- 7:07Speaker 2: finish that steak within an hour, they put your name
- 7:09Speaker 2: on the wall. And so I did. They came and
- 7:12Speaker 2: they inspected it with a little light and they're like, congratulations, sir.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Here you go. Your name's going to be on that wall.
- 7:17Speaker 2: And I'm like, yeah, that was the last time I've
- 7:20Speaker 2: ever attempted anything quite like that because I think I
- 7:23Speaker 2: felt sick for like a week or 866-927-4361. You have
- 7:27Speaker 2: a personal eating record. What is it? Charity in Herndon.
- 7:33Speaker 5: In college, I would order a Domino's pizza and eat
- 7:36Speaker 5: the whole pizza by myself.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I feel like that's a rite of passage. Haven't we
- 7:39Speaker 3: all done that in college?
- 7:40Speaker 2: I mean, now that would just kill me. Like way
- 7:43Speaker 2: too much cheese.
- 7:44Speaker 6: But at the time, like, oh my gosh, to have
- 7:47Speaker 6: an 18-year-old metabolism, amazing.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I would love that again.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Can somebody at NIH get on that? A way to
- 7:53Speaker 2: speed up our metabolism?
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it's called exercise and weight training.
- 7:57Speaker 2: In Largo. Good morning, David.
- 7:59Speaker 4: What's my personal eating record? There's a dive bar in
- 8:01Speaker 4: my hometown that only serves like beer, grilled cheese, and
- 8:05Speaker 4: these chili dogs.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Sounds very healthy and nutritious.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Also, it sounds like you needed Tums after that.
- 8:11Speaker 2: When was this exactly?
- 8:12Speaker 4: In my prime, I don't know, 21, 22, 23, something
- 8:15Speaker 4: like that.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So how many did you end up eating?
- 8:17Speaker 4: 20 chili dogs and a couple of mugs of beer.
- 8:21Speaker 2: You know, just to wash it down. Right. I'm sure
- 8:24Speaker 2: that that beer might have been influencing your decision, too.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But who am I to judge there, David from Largo?
- 8:30Speaker 2: And if you would like to jump in, Talkback's wide
- 8:33Speaker 2: open for you. You know, tap, speak, send if you're
- 8:36Speaker 2: listening on your iHeart app. 6.10 this morning, top stories
- 8:39Speaker 2: at the top of the hour. Chili, what's going on?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Here's something I think a lot of singles can relate to.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Rising costs are really changing the dating habits of younger Americans.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I've got more details on that coming up in just
- 8:52Speaker 3: a few minutes.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's history. Our iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One
- 8:59Speaker 2: went down over the weekend. So many unbelievable moments, collaborations, artists.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It was epic.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but you don't have to worry if you missed
- 9:10Speaker 3: it because those once-in-a-lifetime moments can be watched October 1st
- 9:14Speaker 3: only on Disney Plus and Hulu.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's 97.1 Wash FM. We are Toby and Chili in
- 9:19Speaker 2: the morning.
- 9:21Speaker 6: 97.1 WASH FM, Washington.
- 9:23Speaker 1: An iHeartRadio station. Coming up on Top Stories, top of
- 9:27Speaker 1: the hour.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Reagan National Airport is getting back on schedule after a
- 9:31Speaker 3: ground stop last night. We've got the latest on that
- 9:35Speaker 3: story and others coming up with Toby and Chili in
- 9:37Speaker 3: the morning on 97.1 Wash FM.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Chinese President Xi Jinping begins his first D.C. visit in
- 9:49Speaker 3: 10 years today. The president will meet with Xi at
- 9:52Speaker 3: the White House where they're expected to discuss trade and AI. Meanwhile,
- 9:57Speaker 3: a protester was arrested yesterday morning after climbing a light
- 10:01Speaker 3: pole near the U.S. Capitol and hanging a banner criticizing
- 10:05Speaker 3: the Chinese president. Reagan National Airport is back on track
- 10:09Speaker 3: after a ground stop that lasted several hours. The FAA
- 10:13Speaker 3: says the stop began around 7 o'clock last night because
- 10:17Speaker 3: of an issue involving runway lighting, and the ground stop
- 10:21Speaker 3: ended around 10.30. A Loudoun County man is charged with
- 10:25Speaker 3: killing his wife at their Aldi home. Deputies say that
- 10:29Speaker 3: 60-year-old Roger Bradford fled after 54-year-old Lisa Bradford was found
- 10:34Speaker 3: shot to death yesterday. He was arrested hours later in Bedford, Pennsylvania.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Montgomery County schools are considering closing some schools as enrollment
- 10:45Speaker 3: continues to drop for the first time in more than
- 10:48Speaker 3: 40 years. Officials are going to study which schools could
- 10:52Speaker 3: close with decisions expected sometime next spring. Talk about a
- 10:57Speaker 3: slippery suspect. Prince William County police chased a runaway pig
- 11:02Speaker 3: through a rainy Dale City roadway yesterday. The pig had
- 11:05Speaker 3: been loose since Monday and officers eventually caught it. And finally,
- 11:10Speaker 3: according to a recent survey, 84% of Gen Z and
- 11:14Speaker 3: millennials say that higher prices are really affecting their love lives.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Nearly a third are going on fewer dates and half
- 11:22Speaker 3: say that financial compatibility now matters way more than chemistry.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Forecast today, we'll have scattered showers with highs around 65.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Right now, though, 56 in Herndon.
- 11:34Speaker 2: There goes the news. With Toby and Chili in the morning,
- 11:36Speaker 2: top stories yours at the top of the hour so
- 11:39Speaker 2: you stay informed. 97.1 Wash FM. We are Toby and
- 11:44Speaker 2: Chili in the morning. Coming up in just a few minutes,
- 11:46Speaker 2: think about that one toy you absolutely had to have
- 11:51Speaker 2: as a kid. Everybody wanted it. You had to have it.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And if it's still yours, it could be in a
- 11:56Speaker 2: closet somewhere. um there's a reason why we're asking about
- 12:01Speaker 2: toys you'll find out in a few toby and chili
- 12:05Speaker 2: in the morning at 97.1 wash fm washington's variety of
- 12:09Speaker 2: the 80s 90s and today today is the deadline it's
- 12:12Speaker 2: the last day for you to vote for the toys
- 12:14Speaker 2: that should be enshrined in the toy hall of fame
- 12:17Speaker 2: only three get in Yeah.
- 12:20Speaker 3: And a couple of the ones that are on there,
- 12:21Speaker 3: I'll just throw them out there. Care Bears, Rubik's Cube,
- 12:25Speaker 3: Cabbage Patch Kids. Those are just a few. And I
- 12:28Speaker 3: don't know which one of those you want to vote for,
- 12:30Speaker 3: but I will say the Cabbage Patch Kid was the
- 12:32Speaker 3: big must have from our childhood.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes. I remember I found that gift in
- 12:38Speaker 2: my dad's closet when I was a wee boy. I
- 12:43Speaker 2: had a little boy Cabbage Patch Kid. I don't remember
- 12:45Speaker 2: what his name was. Dad thought he hit him really well.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Look, that was the most epic and in demand toy
- 12:53Speaker 3: in the early 80s for sure.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Man, if we still had that, it'd probably be worth
- 12:57Speaker 2: some bank.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Only if it was still in the box.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Oh, man. What was the most epic in-demand toy from
- 13:04Speaker 2: your childhood? You still have it? 866-927-4361. Stacey and Arlington.
- 13:12Speaker 2: What's got?
- 13:12Speaker 5: I'm still all about my American Girl dolls. My friends
- 13:16Speaker 5: and I were obsessed that it seems like they're still
- 13:18Speaker 5: going strong.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Is a girl that I can tell you? Yes. Yes,
- 13:21Speaker 2: they are.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Well, you know, they first came out in 1986. So
- 13:25Speaker 3: that is impressive that they still have that popularity.
- 13:28Speaker 2: The OG ones are worth some serious bank, too, by
- 13:30Speaker 2: the way. Where do you put all those dolls now
- 13:32Speaker 2: that you're all grown and such?
- 13:34Speaker 5: I hide mine in the closet, but, you know, I
- 13:37Speaker 5: have them set up nicely on a shelf so they
- 13:38Speaker 5: can hang out together.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Well, that's lovely. By the way, they were inducted into
- 13:43Speaker 3: the Toy Hall of Fame back in 2021.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Petey, good morning and thank you for listening to us
- 13:48Speaker 2: in Alexandria this morning.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Which ones did you have?
- 13:54Speaker 4: Flash forward to.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Today, what did you do with all those Beanie Babies?
- 14:05Speaker 2: If you decide to unload them, eBay. Lots of collectors
- 14:09Speaker 2: do the eBay thing.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Although back in 2000, it was rejected to enter the
- 14:13Speaker 3: Toy Hall of Fame.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Mmm. It might have won your heart, but not a
- 14:18Speaker 2: place in the Hall of Fame.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Mmm.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Toby and Tilly in the morning at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Hang for a few because... Not.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Sure if you heard in the news, but a couple
- 14:28Speaker 3: of Montgomery County malls have new rules for teen shoppers
- 14:32Speaker 3: that a lot of folks not happy about.
- 14:34Speaker 2: 97.1 Wash FM. We're Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 14:38Speaker 2: You probably saw the news about some of the changes
- 14:41Speaker 2: at Westfield Wheaton or Westfield Montgomery in Montgomery County. These
- 14:47Speaker 2: kids will not be allowed into the mall if they're
- 14:49Speaker 2: under the age of 18 starting Monday after 3 p.m.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Without an adult, without somebody 21 or older. That is correct.
- 14:56Speaker 3: This is a new policy that applies every single day
- 14:59Speaker 3: of the week and will include the mall's outdoor areas. Now,
- 15:03Speaker 3: some folks are saying, well, Columbia Mall has been doing this. Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 3: but Columbia Mall is on weekends after 4 p.m. The
- 15:10Speaker 3: ones in Montgomery County here, the Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery,
- 15:13Speaker 3: are every day of the week. It'll be interesting to
- 15:15Speaker 3: see how this is enforceable because not every teen likes
- 15:20Speaker 3: to shop where the adult likes to shop within the mall.
- 15:23Speaker 3: And if they're separated, how are they going to enforce this?
- 15:28Speaker 3: I don't know. How do you feel?
- 15:29Speaker 2: I feel like something has to be done. We've read
- 15:32Speaker 2: countless times and we've seen on the news the reasons
- 15:36Speaker 2: why this is being done. Something has to be done.
- 15:42Speaker 2: And whatever they've been doing in the past ain't working.
- 15:44Speaker 2: So you know what?
- 15:45Speaker 7: Boom.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Sorry, kids. Y'all screwed it up. Peace out.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I think it's unfortunate. I do agree something needs to
- 15:51Speaker 3: be done. But for me, the something should be more security,
- 15:54Speaker 3: whatever that looks like, because now you are, for the
- 15:57Speaker 3: lack of a better word, punishing the kids who do
- 16:01Speaker 3: behave and can drive themselves to the mall to run
- 16:04Speaker 3: errands or to hang out with their friends that aren't
- 16:06Speaker 3: causing mayhem.
- 16:07Speaker 2: See, I know, but this is unfortunately the way the
- 16:11Speaker 2: cookie crumbles. Megan left us a talkback message. Chili, she
- 16:14Speaker 2: had some thoughts on all of this stuff.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Hi, Toby and Chili. I I think the new policy
- 16:22Speaker 7: at West Montgomery and Westfield Wheaton Mall are the best
- 16:26Speaker 7: policies ever. These days, you just don't know what's going
- 16:30Speaker 7: to happen with teenagers at the mall. Having this policy
- 16:34Speaker 7: will maintain a safety, family-friendly place that people can go to.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Megan, thank you for leaving us that message and for
- 16:42Speaker 2: listening to us in Rockville.
- 16:44Speaker 3: That remains to be seen. We'll see how, as I
- 16:46Speaker 3: said earlier, how this will be enforced and we'll find
- 16:49Speaker 3: out sooner rather than later. Because again, this all starts
- 16:51Speaker 3: on Monday.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yep.
- 16:52Speaker 2: We live in interesting times. Speaking of interesting times, top
- 16:56Speaker 2: stories at the top of the hour on the way
- 16:58Speaker 2: right around 710. What are you working on this morning?
- 17:01Speaker 3: A new study finds that your fitness tracker may be
- 17:05Speaker 3: lying to you about how many calories you burned. I've
- 17:09Speaker 3: got the latest on those findings coming up in just
- 17:12Speaker 3: a few minutes.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I know 10 years ago you had the biggest crush
- 17:17Speaker 2: on Nick. Well, why don't you relive that crush? Because
- 17:21Speaker 2: the Jonas Brothers are coming to town. Joe, Nick and Kevin.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And you can win your way in with 97.1 Wash FM.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning coming up.

- 23:12Speaker 2: to speak for Chili Amar, but I do think I
- 23:14Speaker 2: am safe in saying that here with us at 97.1
- 23:18Speaker 2: Wash FM, Toby and Chili in the morning, we love
- 23:20Speaker 2: it when you ask us for advice. It lets us...
- 23:23Speaker 2: pretend for a moment that we're therapists we have a
- 23:26Speaker 2: lot of experience with therapists here so if you ever
- 23:29Speaker 2: have a problem and you need a hand you know
- 23:31Speaker 2: where to find us tap the talkback microphone or give
- 23:34Speaker 2: us a call at 866-927-4361.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Jenna in vienna left us this talkback and wants all
- 23:41Speaker 3: of our advice including you listening.
- 23:43Speaker 8: I listen to your show every morning by the way
- 23:45Speaker 8: i absolutely love it so i got a question for
- 23:48Speaker 8: the audience and maybe you guys can help me make
- 23:50Speaker 8: a decision. My upstairs neighbor's kid carpools to school with
- 23:54Speaker 8: my kids every day.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I drive them.
- 23:56Speaker 8: And, you know, I've been kind of, the thoughts have
- 23:59Speaker 8: been crossing my mind. Maybe I should ask them for
- 24:01Speaker 8: a little bit of gas money. I mean, gas is
- 24:03Speaker 8: a little bit expensive nowadays. So is that wrong?
- 24:06Speaker 1: Is it wrong for me.
- 24:07Speaker 6: To ask them for gas money?
- 24:08Speaker 8: Because honestly, I'm thinking about putting my kid on the
- 24:10Speaker 8: school bus. So I don't know.
- 24:11Speaker 1: You guys let me know.
- 24:13Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.
- 24:13Speaker 2: If you have some thoughts on Jenna's musings this morning,
- 24:21Speaker 2: feel free to give us a call and jump into
- 24:23Speaker 2: the conversation. Chili, what do you say?
- 24:25Speaker 3: I wouldn't ask for it, but I don't think it's wrong.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I think if you're already driving your child to school
- 24:31Speaker 3: and the neighbor is right upstairs and no gas money needed,
- 24:35Speaker 3: but if you are going to transition to sending your
- 24:37Speaker 3: kid on a school bus, then yeah, stop even driving.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Look, I think, you know what? Ask for some money.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Gas ain't free, nor is it cheap. If you're doing
- 24:47Speaker 2: a solid, the least they can do is kick you
- 24:49Speaker 2: five bucks so you can get a gallon of some
- 24:53Speaker 2: of the cheap stuff. Put it in your ride, get
- 24:55Speaker 2: them kids to school and be on your happy merry way.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Thoughts?
- 24:59Speaker 2: What would you say to Jenna? 866-927-4361. Your advice, please
- 25:07Speaker 2: give us a call. In the meantime, hang out because
- 25:10Speaker 2: right around 810, the news, top stories at the top

- 27:31Speaker 3: but spent all of it and much of it on schools.
- 27:34Speaker 3: And finally, according to a recent survey, almost everyone thinks

- 28:27Speaker 2: for some money from these people, you know, to cover
- 28:30Speaker 2: the cost of gas in the carpool. You have some thoughts, though?

- 29:26Speaker 3: Their kids are friends. They know what they're doing.
- 29:28Speaker 2: If they haven't offered by you asking, it's not going.
- 29:30Speaker 3: To make it better. It's just going to make it weird.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Why would that be weird? If they're depending on you
- 29:35Speaker 2: for that, then who knows what's going on in their life?
- 29:37Speaker 3: All right. So, Ashley, you're saying Jenna should just keep

- 30:00Speaker 4: $ 5 a gallon now, whatever it is. Yeah, you got
- 30:03Speaker 4: to establish that boundary from the get go.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:05Speaker 3: So you have no problem talking about gas money with
- 30:09Speaker 3: the neighbor.
- 30:09Speaker 4: No, are you kidding me? This is real life stuff.
- 30:12Speaker 4: You know, everyone just doesn't get to skate by with
- 30:14Speaker 4: things that cost money.
- 30:15Speaker 3: You sound like this could lead to other things.
- 30:17Speaker 2: What's next?
- 30:17Speaker 4: You know, dropping off groceries for free and they don't
- 30:19Speaker 4: say nothing? Or they just say, yo, where's my next meal?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Get out of here. Man, you triggered a little bit
