- 1:49Listen to the Be Perfect Cool podcast.
- 1:51My name is Rex 45 and Moto GP has just started this weekend.
- 1:58I got a little bit of feedback, but you guys can't hear.
- 2:00But it's all good. We're going to have some fun
- 2:03tonight because I'm excited. The first round is Thailand.
- 2:06We got the guys in here to chop it up.
- 2:09Maybe. You know, we got this game we're
- 2:12playing and we got scores to discuss and see where we're
- 2:16standing and stuff like that. I mean, for the most part, you
- 2:20know, I think we we can all agree that, you know, I was
- 2:22right and I'm always right. But we got to hear the guys and
- 2:25let them, you know, confirm how right I was or not and hear
- 2:29their sides of the story. My name is Rex 45.
- 2:32I'm ready to get into this thing, TJ, man.
- 2:34Welcome to the show, man. How you doing tonight man?
- 2:37I'm doing good. I'm happy now man, it's still
- 2:40cold up here. We should be melting snow soon,
- 2:44hopefully in a couple weeks. But now that Moto GP is back,
- 2:47I'm excited and just got to soak it all in from all the classes,
- 2:52so ready to chop it up. Nice, nice man.
- 2:56I'm, I'm excited too, man. And I was in Boston yesterday,
- 3:00so I, I got to say I'm not excited about all the, the, the
- 3:07snow, but it's good to know that it's melting and going away and
- 3:10spring is around the corner. So I'm excited, man.
- 3:13And I can't wait to dive into the show.
- 3:15So we're going to keep it moving though.
- 3:17Lewis, welcome to the show. How you doing tonight man?
- 3:20Doing good, doing good here. And once again, one of the
- 3:24crappiest hotels you can find. But that's Daytona.
- 3:28That's Bike Week. That's the way it works.
- 3:30Man, listen, I'm going to be in my trailer, so that's what my
- 3:33hotel is going to look like. Although it's it's going to be
- 3:37all mine. So you know, whatever stains are
- 3:40there or not there, no one will know.
- 3:43I do not want to turn a black light in here because I'll be
- 3:46end up sleeping outside in the sidewalk, so I'm just going to
- 3:51wrap myself in some towels that I brought and try not to really
- 3:54touch anything in this room. We're going to talk about that
- 3:57travel because it does get a little sketchy sometimes, man.
- 4:01Yeah, I know you're ready to jump into the Moto GP talk, but
- 4:05it doesn't feel good to have a Moto GP back, right?
- 4:08It does, but if you know, we'll talk about it.
- 4:12But I, you know, I am not a, a happy camper, a happy fan this
- 4:17weekend. I think Moto GP with and if this
- 4:21is the new direction of Moto GP, when we talk about it, Moto GP
- 4:24is going to suck. Listen, man, all I got to say is
- 4:27this. The rules are the rules.
- 4:29The laws or the laws we stand with, the laws of the
- 4:33organizations we're with, and as long as we're consistent, then
- 4:38it's not a problem. But we're going to drive to it
- 4:43more. Reese, man, I see you shaking
- 4:45your head. You know what it is.
- 4:46Come on, Reese, Come on, man, you already know you can't, you
- 4:49can't be shaking your head 'cause you ain't got no choice.
- 4:52You're bounded by rules. Good.
- 4:55Not really. I mean, not really.
- 4:57You're not bounded by rules. I mean, rules are rules.
- 4:59But I mean, rules are made to be broken.
- 5:02I mean, but then rules can favor one to another.
- 5:06I mean, I agree, man. If if this is something that
- 5:10they're going to say, I mean like, oh God, we're in trouble.
- 5:14Yeah, yeah. You know, we're going to dive
- 5:16into it because we've seen other leagues clean things up, for
- 5:20lack of a better word. And again, as long as we're
- 5:23consistent, I think I think it's OK.
- 5:26And you know, that's it And we'll see as the season go and
- 5:30we and we'll touch into it. But I think Mark knows the rules
- 5:33and and I think the issue with Mark is just let me know sooner.
- 5:36So I got a chance, but we'll dive into the how you doing,
- 5:39man? I see you got them guns out.
- 5:41What's going on, man? You going to the gun show?
- 5:43No, I just left the gym to get here to get to the show.
- 5:47I wish. Ain't no guns there.
- 5:50Everything good over here, just sitting here and back home.
- 5:53And. Head over there to meet Louis in
- 5:55Daytona. No doubt we'll catch up with you
- 5:59guys there too as well in a in a few days.
- 6:03I fellas, man, I mean, you know, you know, I know a lot of other
- 6:07people lose their ish over when other sports are coming around,
- 6:12but us gasoline guys, 2 wheel guys, horsepower guys is nothing
- 6:18like Moto GP. And you know, I think this round
- 6:23is might be the first round in a long time that I can say I was
- 6:26right. I'm just saying what's going on
- 6:30fellas? What are your thoughts on the
- 6:32overall weekend outside of the crashes and and I guess the
- 6:37biggest thing is, is the is the Sprint race and the penalty on
- 6:40Marquez. So, you know, let's talk about
- 6:43how you guys feel about the penalties.
- 6:44You agree, disagree. Why, why not?
- 6:47And also, is it Was it worth the wait?
- 6:52Start with TJ. It was definitely worth the wait
- 6:57as far as that penalty. I mean, we can go back to, you
- 7:01know, Rossi days, like, you know, those things got to slide.
- 7:05You know, they fight all the way to the end.
- 7:08I think Mark deserved that victory.
- 7:10I mean, even after his victory lap, he rode past the stewards
- 7:15and gave him a little clap just to see, like, the direction
- 7:19where this is going. I mean, Mark always has
- 7:21something up his sleeve. So yeah, he's going to have
- 7:24something ready for the next race at this.
- 7:27Something like this occurs again.
- 7:28But I think he deserves that victory.
- 7:31I don't think, you know, they should let him drop a position.
- 7:36I mean, they did notify him a little late.
- 7:39It's like the last lap. So I mean, it's just a it is a
- 7:44it's a clean racing move. I think Pedro Acosta just kind
- 7:48of reacted a little extra. You say, let me.
- 7:52Let me let me correct you there and the other two gentlemen that
- 7:56are going to come up after you both Marquez and Acosta both
- 8:01said. They touch I.
- 8:04Mean yeah, but they're they're all in line.
- 8:09I mean he showed them the tire mark was ahead of them slightly,
- 8:13you know, they wanted to get to that finish line.
- 8:16So I mean, it's a tough decision, but you know, like
- 8:20it's like you were mentioned, as long as they consistent, you
- 8:24know, then hopefully it'll be better.
- 8:27But I, I, I don't know, it was kind of sketchy now.
- 8:32Yeah, I agree, man. Reese, man, let let's talk about
- 8:35that. Like I said, they both said
- 8:38they'd touch, you know, was it worth the wait watching it?
- 8:42I are you going you're going to keep your Moto GP subscription?
- 8:45Maybe, maybe not World Super bike, you know.
- 8:49And what are your thoughts on on the Sprint and that decision to
- 8:53tell Marquez to drop a position? I mean, rubbing is racing,
- 8:58right? As we all say, rubbing is
- 9:00racing. I mean, was it a clean pass?
- 9:02Yes. Was it a hard pass?
- 9:04A little bit, but it was still a pass.
- 9:07I mean it was still a little bit in front of him when he got
- 9:10past. I mean, both of them did say
- 9:12they touch, but I mean, how many times do you see a rider touch?
- 9:15I mean, you see him touch going into turn 1 numerous of times
- 9:20when they, you know, off the start.
- 9:21So I just think the penalty was a little harsh.
- 9:25Now Marquez did say he didn't complain about getting the
- 9:29penalty. He said, just let me know sooner
- 9:32it will come to a decision quicker because if I had to drop
- 9:34a position, not on the last lap, I can't win a race on the last
- 9:38lap. If it if it happened closer.
- 9:40I forget if it was the 4th, the 4th corner or fifth corner, but
- 9:44it sounds like there was at least six corners.
- 9:46They could have made a decision where if they say drop a
- 9:48position, he probably could have dropped a position and still got
- 9:51back in the race. So it didn't seem like he was,
- 9:54he didn't seem like he was saying, hey, this is a weird
- 9:56rule. It's just saying, hey, make a
- 9:59decision sooner. So is this where Moto GP is
- 10:03going where we see it in basketball, We see it in
- 10:06football. We, we, we're, we're allowing
- 10:08these guys to shoot the shot, catch the balls, finish the
- 10:13corner. I mean, Mark is never going to
- 10:16complain about a penalty. You mean he's going to take it
- 10:18in stride and take it on the chant And he's he's 100% right.
- 10:21I mean, you saw the past, so you could have let him know sooner
- 10:26so he can actually drop and get, you know, regain or fight for
- 10:29the position back again instead of waiting till the very end and
- 10:33say, oh, you got to drop a position now.
- 10:35It's too late. I have no chance.
- 10:36I just got to finish it out or gain enough gap to where it
- 10:42doesn't hurt. But is it is it something we're
- 10:46going in? I, I truly hope not.
- 10:49I hope not. And if it is, I mean we're in
- 10:52trouble. Listen, man, all I all I got to
- 10:55say is 2015 come to mind. Argentina, Rossi and Marquez.
- 11:01I mean, you know, Robin is racing.
- 11:03We're at a different time now in 2026.
- 11:06Lewis Mann, you're the numbers guys.
- 11:09It was it, it was an incident and they are rules.
- 11:16If a guy, like I said in our comments section, if a guy in a
- 11:20polo shirt in a air conditioned room that's not on the track is
- 11:25going to decide the outcome of a race, I'm not going to watch
- 11:28this shit anymore because rubbing is racing.
- 11:33We all agree upon that. There's always going to be
- 11:36contact. We've said multiple times on
- 11:38this podcast and other places it's getting very difficult for
- 11:42these bikes to pass because of all the arrow and everything
- 11:45else. Unfortunately, passing and doing
- 11:48these lunges, as long as they're controlled lunges, these lunges
- 11:53are the only way to pass. You're not going to out
- 11:55horsepower anybody anymore unless you come off the corner
- 11:58and you're on somebody's rear tire and you get in their
- 11:59slipstream. You still need to pass them on
- 12:02the brakes. You're not just going to
- 12:03outmotor somebody And you know, yeah, was it a hard pass?
- 12:09It was a hard pass, but you know what?
- 12:11You know what was a harder pass? Alex Marquez into Digia.
- 12:14And they didn't make Alex Marquez drop, and that happened
- 12:17pretty early in the race. So if you're going to make these
- 12:21decisions, you need to make these decisions immediately.
- 12:25I was going to say they might have implemented these rules
- 12:28from Orbadilli and never think that it would have been Acosta
- 12:31and Marquez and. And again, I understand the
- 12:35rules, but there comes a certain point in the race where you need
- 12:39to adjust your thinking. Because right now we've got the
- 12:41rule that if I'm the last lap, the rider goes off the track
- 12:46even a little bit, even a A something hair off the track and
- 12:51you hit the paint outside of the track, you automatically have to
- 12:56drop a spot. So I'm in first place by 15
- 13:00seconds and I just take one corner and I had to change my
- 13:04line because maybe I lose the front because the tires a little
- 13:07worn and my front or rear tire touches the paint, just touches
- 13:11it 15 seconds in front. I still have to drop a spot
- 13:16because I'm not in control of the bike.
- 13:18I've exceeded track limits, especially if they've already
- 13:21warned me about exceeding track limits before.
- 13:23But on the last lap, it's automatic.
- 13:25You have to drop a spot. Some of these rules are in there
- 13:29for a reason, but some of these rules need to have some
- 13:31flexibility. I don't want to see again some
- 13:34guy in a polo shirt that didn't put on a helmet hasn't been
- 13:37sweating his balls off in 150,000° temperature.
- 13:43Ten 10,000% humidity has not been involved in the whole race
- 13:48yet. He determines the outcome of the
- 13:50race with a bullshit call that they come late at that.
- 13:54They could have again, they could have told Mark many, many
- 13:57corners before this is what we decided we're going to do this.
- 13:59But they wait until the point when they informed Mark when
- 14:02Mark really can't even let Acosta pass him and then pass
- 14:06him again to try to gain the lead.
- 14:09So that's what Mark did in the last corner.
- 14:11He let Acosta pass him in hopes to get a drive and out motor the
- 14:15KTM to the line 'cause that was the only position.
- 14:18That and the only time he had to do it.
- 14:20So again, Simon crave for nice guy.
- 14:23Everything else, he's not racing.
- 14:25Well, he used to race and he's won.
- 14:27And. And so, and he's the good guy.
- 14:31You know. He's.
- 14:33Not that guy right now. As the Stewart, he should know
- 14:36when and when not to implement a rule.
- 14:38Right, let let's let's let's let like Marquez did not argue about
- 14:44the penalty. It's more or less when the
- 14:46decision was made. So obviously they already know
- 14:49what the rules are ahead of time and they all know it.
- 14:52And and so he wasn't sitting here saying it's a bad rule.
- 14:55So we have to go with what Marquez says.
- 14:57US fans, we don't like it, right?
- 14:59Because we let's, let's say what Acosta said, then what did
- 15:04Acosta say? Acosta said.
- 15:06I don't feel like a winner today.
- 15:07Yeah, yeah. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
- 15:10Of course, because you, that's what you're going to say.
- 15:12But you know, he's going to get the winner's check.
- 15:15But you know, has he won his first Moto GP race?
- 15:18Yeah, he won his first Moto GP race with a giant asterisk next
- 15:21to it. I I, I, I yeah, I completely
- 15:26understand. Louis, you're frozen for some
- 15:28reason, but we can hear your audio just perfectly fine.
- 15:31There you go. You're good to go now.
- 15:33No, I I I completely agree. But again, I'm on you guys side
- 15:39as far as everything, but we have to keep in mind, let's see
- 15:45if they'd be consistent because last year they was not
- 15:47consistent at all. It seemed like, you know,
- 15:49Mobanelli was the one that got all the penalties and no one
- 15:51else did. But even this weekend, they
- 15:53weren't consistent because Alex Marquez did the same exactly
- 15:57that Dan Antonio did. He didn't get penalized and he
- 16:02his ass into the third row of the stadium.
- 16:06A lot of a lot of races are also decided towards the end.
- 16:10I mean, I mean, not the last lap, but it could be, you know,
- 16:15four or five laps to go where you got to make this move, you
- 16:18know, to get ahead. And we've seen Mark do it a few
- 16:20times and you will rub somebody at this point because you got to
- 16:25outbreak them into a corner. That's basically how you make a
- 16:29clean pass to get that drive. Like Lewis said, you're not
- 16:32going to out motor them unless you know you want to Yamaha
- 16:35that. That ain't going to get you down
- 16:37the straight. But.
- 16:38Right, Yeah, right. But that's double edged sword,
- 16:40right, In a sense, because you know, we've seen this in the
- 16:45Australian Open, Alcarez against, I forget who he was
- 16:49playing, but he took a medical time out really just to rest.
- 16:57And it's in the rule books. So it's one of those things like
- 17:00if it's in the rule books, you can take advantage of it.
- 17:03And Marquez, you know, these guys know the rules, you know
- 17:08what I'm saying? They, they, they know what it is
- 17:09and they're taking advantage of it.
- 17:11And you know, we, we've seen it. We've seen Marquez do it last
- 17:15year when he won the, the, was it the Austin GP?
- 17:20When, when with the with, with if if not, but I guess the I
- 17:23don't know X amount of riders come off, they have to red flag,
- 17:26right? We saw it was so he knows what
- 17:28he's doing, but it's just this is one of these moments where
- 17:30it's him that got penalized versus the other riders and in
- 17:34the and he's been getting away with it for a while.
- 17:36But yeah, he he knows what he's doing.
- 17:38So is he. Right, but are you going to
- 17:40penalize the the side of race? Yeah, that's where it's at.
- 17:43Like you decided a race on a penalty and then y'all we're
- 17:47complaining there. The stewards are trying to say,
- 17:49oh, we got to limit the power to bring the racer the racing
- 17:52closer. So now you had a close race, but
- 17:55now you just gave a penalty to decide it.
- 17:57Why? Why did you do it?
- 17:58Just let it go. Let me ask you guys this which
- 18:00is worse, this penalty or vinyl is being penalized for tire
- 18:04pressure? They both suck, OK.
- 18:09For real, they both. I mean tire, tire pressure.
- 18:12To me, tire pressure is not in the rider's control.
- 18:17You know, I, I've looked, I've never seen, I've never seen a
- 18:19Moto GP rider put a tire gauge to a bike.
- 18:22I've never seen him turn a screw on a bike or not on a bike.
- 18:25Nothing. What they can do is they can
- 18:27manage the tire pressure by looking at their gauges, getting
- 18:30out of the line, letting people pass them, getting behind bikes
- 18:33to bring the pressure up because they bring the heat up, getting
- 18:36up from behind a bike to getting bring the pressure down because
- 18:39they're getting too much heat off a bike.
- 18:40Like they can manage that part of it, but they're not
- 18:43mechanics, they're not actually working on on the bike.
- 18:46And, and and this rule is fine if you know, if it happens to
- 18:50the guy in 7th place and the guy in 8th place on the last lap,
- 18:53because that's not significantly changing the outcome of the race
- 18:57on the podium. But to drop a guy from first
- 19:00place to 2nd, not give him enough warning to be smart
- 19:04enough, Cuz Marquez is smart enough to know if I get this
- 19:07penalty now, I'm going to let Acosta pass me here and then I
- 19:11have an opportunity to pass him back.
- 19:12And, you know, we kind of can keep this battle going.
- 19:15But it's also fair to say that if he didn't drop a position and
- 19:19finish the race in front, the other penalty might have been
- 19:22worse, right? It might have been a 10 second
- 19:24penalty. Yeah.
- 19:25And then he would have gone to like 5th place.
- 19:27But again, if you're going to make these decisions, you got to
- 19:30make them instantaneously. You got to make it within a
- 19:34certain like there should be a a, there should be a shot clock.
- 19:37There you go, penalty, fat clock.
- 19:39The second penalty happens, the team hits a little button.
- 19:43We want to review that penalty. And Simon Crafer has 25 seconds
- 19:47on the shot clock to decide whether or not it's a penalty.
- 19:50I mean, listen, it goes, it goes both ways because we have we
- 19:53again, we can only speak of the past and today's race, but we
- 19:57have had decisions where they may decide to make a decision
- 20:01after the race. That's what it it, right?
- 20:04It penalized for his next round. Right, exactly.
- 20:08Yeah, penalizing lap penalty. Well, the other thing you got to
- 20:12think about is the opposite side of that.
- 20:14Let's say I'm on the losing side of a battle and I and somebody's
- 20:18tipping it in front of me and I end up tipping into them and
- 20:21making it seem like they pushed me off the line, right.
- 20:25And now I finish in second, but because he pushed me, pushed me
- 20:29off the line, or at least I made it seem like it pushed me of a
- 20:32line. Now I get to win first even
- 20:34though I'm 17 seconds behind. You know, listen guys, you know,
- 20:37last year I felt like I was the only person that was on Ducati's
- 20:40side. But it seemed like all you guys
- 20:43are on Ducati's side this year. And I have to say, if Ducati
- 20:47didn't drop the ball, Mark wouldn't have to take these
- 20:51lunges to get in front of that KTM.
- 20:54I mean, Ducati Ducati's gotten used to being the top dog and
- 20:58they're not the top dog anymore, man, at least this weekend on
- 21:02this track with the layout of the track, Apria and KTM had a
- 21:07package at this track. Now let's see if they can bring
- 21:10that package to Brazil and the US and to the other rounds.
- 21:14And if they can, it's going to be a fun season of racing
- 21:16because it's not going to be the Ducati Aprile show, the Ducati
- 21:20Aprile KTM show. OK, all right, all right, so
- 21:21let. Let we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll,
- 21:24let's, let's run through it. TJ, you know, what are your
- 21:28thoughts of the qualifying and, and the Sprint race?
- 21:31We, and then we'll, we'll circle back around and then we'll talk
- 21:34about the main GP. You know, we, we got out, we
- 21:38have our picks and I will say only one person picked Acosta.
- 21:44I wonder who that is? But you know, for some reason
- 21:47that was the best pick. Numbers look good.
- 21:50But what are you, what are your thoughts on on on qualifying?
- 21:54You know, were you shocked to see what KTM and and Aprilia was
- 21:58doing all for Aprilia? I mean this is a bad time for
- 22:01Ducati for sure. I mean, practicing and
- 22:05qualifying was pretty interesting.
- 22:07Like a Prioria definitely stepped their game up.
- 22:11It's funny that I think they were like the only bike to to go
- 22:15down during the practice in qualifying and but they would
- 22:18still be able to pull out one of the best times and Bazecki
- 22:22setting the charge and Martine looked really good as well.
- 22:27Yeah. I mean like Bazecki for him to
- 22:33be like kind of the leader part of Australia.
- 22:36I mean, they, they are setting the tone right now where like if
- 22:41one or two of their riders don't do well, they have a backup
- 22:45where the other riders are also still going to do good enough
- 22:49where they can probably steal this constructive championship
- 22:52from Ducati and stuff like that. So that's a good start for them.
- 23:01And what are you guys are doing here?
- 23:06We go. Say that again.
- 23:09No, sorry. I was asking Reese.
- 23:11I don't know if he heard me. No.
- 23:14What are you? What are you?
- 23:15What are your thoughts? My thoughts on this, I mean, it
- 23:20was a good qualifying was good, you know what I mean?
- 23:23It was real good. Aprilia's taking it, you know,
- 23:30they're, they look really good. I mean, even though they did
- 23:33have some mishaps in the, you know, the qualifying and
- 23:36practice, but they look real good.
- 23:38I mean, they look strong. So they KTM look a little strong
- 23:41there. So I mean, it's still kind of
- 23:46hard to say in qualifying who's all going to be the the top dog
- 23:49because everybody's trying to qualify and practice and trying
- 23:52to figure out their setups and trying to figure out their
- 23:54right, their right way for the bike.
- 23:57So it's like I always take, I always take qualifying and
- 24:01practice with a fine comb. You know, because some people,
- 24:05you have some riders that are great qualifiers and not good
- 24:08race day riders, but you have some guys that are great race
- 24:11day riders and not good qualifiers.
- 24:15Yeah, I can see that. I mean, I wasn't, I was
- 24:18definitely rooting for Bez and, and, and and what he could do.
- 24:23I was surprised at the track house guys and what they were
- 24:27able to do. And also Martine, because we
- 24:30haven't really talked about Martine Martinez as a as a
- 24:32whole. You know, you look at Bez in
- 24:36the, in the, in the Sprint race, you know, he had to speed and
- 24:39crash out. You know, is, is it just because
- 24:44he's just new to the being upfront distracted?
- 24:49I don't think he's I don't think he's distracted.
- 24:51I think they're like if you looked in the race, everybody
- 24:53was, there was a couple guys having rear tire issues.
- 24:56So I mean, that could have been a play in the in the qualify in
- 24:59the Sprint race. Or maybe he was just overzealous
- 25:04and push a little too hard and over.
- 25:06You know it because it looked like he just had a little tuck
- 25:09and he just pushed a little too hard and just was going.
- 25:13So I mean, that could be the play.
- 25:14He's he's not saying that he's not used to it, but I just think
- 25:18he could have just been trying to, you know, it's always that
- 25:21case in point when you're trying to prove a point like, hey, I'm
- 25:23here, don't forget about me. And I still got this way of
- 25:26going. Right, right, man, Lewis with
- 25:30your thoughts on Aprilia and how they did, you know, a little bit
- 25:34on Bez crashing out on the Sprint race, you know, and, and
- 25:38touch on Ducati a little bit because I, I think you know,
- 25:42before the, the, the season started, I think the other
- 25:47manufacturers were thinking like, I hope we're close to
- 25:51Ducati. But I think after this weekend,
- 25:54and I know it's just one round, but you know, you know, if if
- 25:58you're everyone but Yamaha, you kind of have been like, we, we,
- 26:03we got something. No Aprilia.
- 26:06Aprilia picked up where they left off last year.
- 26:08I mean, last year they were on Ducati's ass.
- 26:11You know, like Bazecki finished super strong.
- 26:13He won a lot of races. Fernandez even won a race first
- 26:17race for the track house team, you know.
- 26:19But they finished last year strong.
- 26:21Considering all these situations they had, the turmoil that they
- 26:25had with Martine, not having a true second factory guy riding
- 26:29alongside Bez and I, you know, this is probably one of the
- 26:33reasons Aprilia signed Bez so quickly is whatever Bez did with
- 26:37the Aprilia team last year to develop the bike on his own and
- 26:41whatever the Aprilia team and engineers did, they went in the
- 26:45right direction Last year. They finished the year super
- 26:48strong and this year they picked up the ball right where they
- 26:50left off, if not a few steps further ahead.
- 26:53Because seeing how they were riding this this past weekend,
- 26:56even during the testing, like they've been consistently at the
- 27:01front. And it's not just Bez, you know,
- 27:04Agoura's right there, Fernandez is right there.
- 27:07Like everybody on Aprilia is right there.
- 27:10Even Martine coming back from injury and hasn't been riding,
- 27:13he's right there. You know, so the package that
- 27:14Aprilia has put together, I really think has either caught
- 27:19or exceeded the Ducati in certain areas.
- 27:22And now it's on par or even might be a little bit above
- 27:26where the Ducati is at. Because if you look at this
- 27:28weekend, Ducati wasn't in a great situation.
- 27:31Alex Marquez had his issues. Mark Marquez had his issues.
- 27:35Petco Bagnaya is already in mid season form, finishing in 9th
- 27:38place, like right where he belongs.
- 27:40So you know the factory team, half of the factory team is not
- 27:43doing well. Fermin Aldeguer is hurt, so he's
- 27:48not there. So this past weekend is probably
- 27:50a weekend that Ducati wants to put behind them as quickly as
- 27:53possible, move on to Brazil and hopefully, you know, start
- 27:56putting the pieces together. I don't think Ducati has fallen
- 27:58that far off. I think they had a really off
- 28:00weekend. They had some weird things
- 28:02happen. You know, I don't know if they
- 28:05bought, you know, leftover Marchesinis and they were made
- 28:08out of a, you know, Chinese instead of regular good forge
- 28:11metal. But you know, to hit a curb and
- 28:14have your ribbon and your tire flattened like that's never I've
- 28:19never seen that happen in at least world class racing you.
- 28:22That's something you see on a track day with like a a shitty
- 28:25pair of aluminum wheels, but not much the CDs.
- 28:28Yeah, so. Yeah, so I that Aprilia's
- 28:33catching up, KTM is the anomaly. I don't know if KTM is going to
- 28:37be able to hold this form at every track they go to.
- 28:40I think certain tracks help them.
- 28:42We're going to talk about KTM next and we'll jump into the GP
- 28:45as well. I will say this, listen man, at
- 28:48the end of the day, you know, 1 + 8 is 9 and 9 + 0 is 9.
- 28:56Both factory guys got 9 points for the weekend.
- 28:59I mean, you know, I'm just saying.
- 29:03One guy was fighting at the front and one guy was looking at
- 29:06rookies asses for most of the race.
- 29:08So there is a difference. 9 is 9 but 9 doesn't always equal 9.
- 29:13When? You finish, it does, but it
- 29:15might be ugly during the process.
- 29:19But let's talk about KTM guys. We'll start with TJ man, you
- 29:24know, I I chose the Costas my guy.
- 29:27You know, some people thought I just disliked Marquez that much
- 29:30that I didn't pick a brother to get on the podium this round,
- 29:36but Marquez and well, Mark Alec, well, Marquez got on the podium.
- 29:42You know, I I'll say this, TJ, I'm I'm just you know, I've
- 29:45been, I've been saying, you know, it's Lorenzo, the, you
- 29:50know, motorcycle racer whisperer and you know, we have been y'all
- 29:55is finished. I mean, this is this is this is
- 29:58this can't be credibility for your as a coach when you finish
- 30:03worse than how you started last year.
- 30:05What are your thoughts on KTM outside of Acosta?
- 30:08Acosta did every he did everything he did last year.
- 30:12He he just didn't crash last year, this year so far this
- 30:15year. Yeah, outside of Acosta, he's
- 30:18definitely growing up a lot smoother and then he's
- 30:20definitely in charge for a fight.
- 30:23And you know, I picked Maverick because, you know, I feel like
- 30:28when he starts the season, he he's very strong.
- 30:32He's always in the fight. Like, you know, he's won Grand
- 30:36Prix and you know, first race of the season.
- 30:39So I just took a gamble, but like finished last, like behind
- 30:43Top Rock. Not no disrespect to Top Rack,
- 30:46but behind Top Rack and the rookies and all that stuff like,
- 30:49and all the training you've done to start to see before the start
- 30:53of the season. Like I expected a lot more for
- 30:55the first race, especially to see what Acosta did.
- 30:59And you know, Bender, all those guys, you know, finished decent,
- 31:03you know, but he didn't show anything.
- 31:06And I don't know, maybe he's still in training.
- 31:08So hopefully he can turn it around.
- 31:12But yeah, I don't know. So with Maverick, he he shows up
- 31:15when he wants to. I got to correct you a little
- 31:17bit. He did finish in front of Top
- 31:19Rock in both races, 19th in the Sprint and let me see in the in
- 31:24the full race, which can't be a good look either. 19 in the
- 31:28Sprint and 16th in the GP race. So out of the points for sure,
- 31:36but but nonetheless, you know, Reese, man, I mean, you know, we
- 31:41see, we see KTM they they, it looks like they kind of lost
- 31:44some of the top speed. If you look at what Acosta is
- 31:49doing, look pretty unbelievable, but still kind of disappointing
- 31:54for those other guys because because when one guy's doing it,
- 31:58it's not enough. It's not enough data, right?
- 32:01No, it's not really. I mean, it's you still got data,
- 32:05you're trying to figure out what the top guy was doing and you're
- 32:08also trying to figure out what was the problem with the the
- 32:10other guys, why they were so far back and and see how we can
- 32:13blend it together and see where they were strong, a little
- 32:16stronger at. Because it at the end of the
- 32:18day, as fans or as anybody that's watching, you guys don't
- 32:22there's data and steps you don't see and certain the geometry
- 32:28don't see is some maybe this bike was better over here versus
- 32:30this bike is better over here turn 3 or 4.
- 32:33So you try to put everything together and see what it is and
- 32:36you don't we can't see see all that just by watching the race,
- 32:40even though, you know, you got Vinales finishing in 1619 and
- 32:45you know, you know, everybody else finishing, you know, down
- 32:48on points. So we don't see all of that.
- 32:51I mean, we just see a cost. Like that's all the the
- 32:53television was showing. But is is it a good look?
- 32:57I mean, it's still a strong look because Acosta was up there.
- 33:00And then you just got to figure out what was Acosta doing
- 33:03different versus everyone else. And then again, as we all say,
- 33:07this track kid favorite KTM, but can favor the riding style of
- 33:12Acosta. You know, we always got to look
- 33:14at their riding style too. Yeah, no doubt.
- 33:18I mean, it looks like Acosta got it figured out.
- 33:22Lewis, man, is it just when you when you sign, if the rumors are
- 33:25true, you sign a new contract, you just riding free and and he
- 33:28doesn't he that he doesn't have a worry in the world at the
- 33:31moment? Or is he just that much more
- 33:34motivated and he's, you know, doing a mark, mark as where I'm
- 33:39going to do my best on a, on a machine that's not necessarily
- 33:42the best machine? I think he's just helping raise
- 33:46his stock. You know, I mean, he's
- 33:48outperforming everybody else on the KTM.
- 33:50So it's doing two things. It's showing KTM who their top
- 33:53rider really is. Because I'm sure he took a lot
- 33:56of the offseason talk of Vigniales and what he's going to
- 33:59do and and so forth and so on. He probably took a lot of that,
- 34:02put it on his shoulders and say, well, I'm going to show KTM what
- 34:05I'm going to do without having Jorge Lorenzo training me.
- 34:09And I'm, I'm going to, I'm going to, the proof is going to be in
- 34:12the pudding on the track, not on social media post with Jorge
- 34:15Lorenzo. Right and and let me let me ask
- 34:18you this do do you fire Lorenzo after this round of your?
- 34:21Videos. Oh yeah, yeah, I fired, I fired
- 34:22his ass Saturday morning. I mean, this, this does not this
- 34:27does not help sell the Jorge Lorenzo school of crazy very
- 34:31well. So hopefully they can turn it
- 34:33around because I mean, if I hired Jorge Lorenzo and we did,
- 34:38you know, we did a weekend because Ajoria Lorenzo and Bez,
- 34:43I mean, Ajoria Lorenzo and Vinales put out a video before
- 34:48the weekend saying that, that you know, oh, we're going to see
- 34:52after this weekend if we're if I'm fired, it's like you might
- 34:55be fired, bro. I, I, I think so too, man.
- 35:00I, I think so too. I think it's, it's not a good
- 35:03look. I mean, you know, Vinales
- 35:05started off the season last year on a new, on his 3rd, 4th
- 35:10manufacturer in Moto GP and still did better than than this
- 35:15first round. You know, it, it, it's Ducati's
- 35:20not in the same situation as Yamaha.
- 35:23But you know, I've been saying this all season, since last all,
- 35:26all last season that they've been messing up.
- 35:29We see the struggles, you know, Marquez Ditton was not a rider
- 35:34that could just take his time and jump into first place like
- 35:38he did or, or whatever position he was trying to get last year.
- 35:41Even though it was his first year on the 25, he definitely
- 35:44was able to ride the bike more calmer and look like he will
- 35:49wanted to make decisions when he wanted to.
- 35:51This first race, he looked like he was riding like Quatararo
- 35:54last year. Just try and throw that bike
- 35:57anywhere he can just to get up in front, not anywhere, but
- 36:00throw the bike up in places where he probably knew he
- 36:02couldn't get to, but was was was forcing it.
- 36:05I mean, and I think that's the penalty that he got because he
- 36:08was forcing it, that kind of thing.
- 36:10We're in the past where last year he didn't have to force it.
- 36:13He was meticulous. He he jumped to the front of the
- 36:15race when he wanted to. He let his brother jump in front
- 36:18of him when he wanted to and still finished the race.
- 36:21So the problem with Ducati is it's the first round and we
- 36:26could talk about tracks and blah, blah blah, but it's not a
- 36:29good look when the guy who's an alien has to start riding like
- 36:33Quatro. What are your thoughts, TJI?
- 36:37Mean yeah, I mean, for one, I know he hasn't won at this
- 36:40track, so that's another thing like he's he's dominated pretty
- 36:44much every track except for this one reason 1.
- 36:47It's a lot of right hand turns. I mean, it's the left 2, but
- 36:52yeah, Mark will figure it out I think before Pekka will, but I
- 36:58think he was definitely riding my Quadra.
- 37:01That's a good reference there. But I think they'll figure it
- 37:05out. This is just, you know, the
- 37:06first round Gigi and all those guys that know that something
- 37:10that they sleep always so right. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not
- 37:13worried about Ducati, but I, I'm sure Aperia is definitely going
- 37:17to be a good challenge for them and they definitely going to
- 37:22need Mark to to help them so. I mean, listen, Reese, man, I
- 37:27mean, who's ducking the wrench when they get back into paddock,
- 37:29Paddock for this one Ran. I mean, with Ducati, you know,
- 37:32the blown tire, the jacked up rim, who's who's, who's ducking
- 37:35the wrench, that Mark has a stone thrown at him.
- 37:39I don't know who's ducking the range.
- 37:40I mean, maybe your manufacturer that, that rim as he went duck
- 37:43whoever made that rim that was a that was a defective rim there
- 37:47just hit a curb and bent that bad.
- 37:49That's right. And he said he started feeling
- 37:54it, but he didn't. He just said it was he was
- 37:56taking it as it was sliding and he was like, I just got to go
- 37:59for it. I'm used to it.
- 38:00So I got to go. But then it got worse and worse.
- 38:02So I mean there's nothing, nothing the mechanics did wrong.
- 38:07Somebody who whoever made that will that's who needs a duck and
- 38:10like that's, that's a problem there.
- 38:12But then we also got to look at it as I mean, you guys were
- 38:15talking about Ducati, but you also got to look at it like this
- 38:17too. Marks coming off an injury.
- 38:20So is his shoulder, is his shoulders at 100%?
- 38:25And if it is at 100%, does he have the strength still on that
- 38:28shoulder to actually do what he used to do?
- 38:30It's, it's not. And he said that in the press
- 38:32conference, in the post press conference or I saw it
- 38:36somewhere. It's not 100% and this.
- 38:38And he struggled in those corners where his right shoulder
- 38:42came into play. Right.
- 38:44So that's another thing you got to take in aspect it's, it's
- 38:46still a lot of force on his on your body and he's probably
- 38:50feeling that effect. And like you said, it's not
- 38:52100%. So there's things as any athlete
- 38:55or anybody knows, I think when I had my injuries, there are
- 38:57certain things when you are injured you can't do.
- 39:00Your body would just limit you like, yeah, I'm not going to do
- 39:02that. So there's certain things that
- 39:04he probably can and can do and it he it.
- 39:06So it may look like he's struggling, but he's not really.
- 39:09He just, he's not going to force it in there.
- 39:11Mark has gotten older and gotten smarter, so he's not going to
- 39:14take that much risk no more. Well, he will take the risk, but
- 39:17not risk of killing himself. Right, right.
- 39:20No, I I completely agree, which is the unfortunate side.
- 39:24No one, you know, you as a racer, I mean as a racer, as a
- 39:28mechanic, as a team owner. No one wants to forfeit a race
- 39:32or DNF because of a mechanical right or defective part.
- 39:36So nobody wants that. Lewis is the time to start for
- 39:40me to start selling my Volkswagen stock.
- 39:42What are you telling me, man? If you're Volkswagen stock, you
- 39:47know, did did Ducati have a rough weekend?
- 39:50Yes, they had a very rough weekend and they were due.
- 39:53I mean, they had 88. I think their streak ended at 88
- 39:56podiums runs. So that's a long, long streak.
- 40:00I think that's the new record. I think it exceeded Honda.
- 40:03Honda had the previous longest record of a podium streak.
- 40:07So I mean, it was bound to happen eventually.
- 40:09It just happened to happen the first weekend of 2026.
- 40:13You know, Marquez, like Reese was saying he is coming back
- 40:17from an injury. He's not at 100%.
- 40:19He said that, you know, very openly.
- 40:23He's going to go out there and he's going to ride his heart out
- 40:25every weekend. He's going to do everything he
- 40:27can. Had it not been for the penalty
- 40:31he would have had one win. Instead he got a second place
- 40:34and had it not been for a free rim accident he would have a
- 40:37third place. So you know, he would have got,
- 40:40I guess. He would have got Raoul.
- 40:42He would have. Got Raoul he.
- 40:44Wasn't getting Acosta so. No, he wasn't getting Acosta,
- 40:46but he would. But at least he would have got
- 40:48some points. He would have been, you know, he
- 40:50wouldn't be where he's at now on the points.
- 40:53And overall I think it was a positive weekend for him.
- 40:57If you look at where the points are right now, Costa's up there
- 41:00because he's the most consistent.
- 41:02Mazecki had a crash on Saturday, Mark had a crash on Sunday.
- 41:06Obviously Mark's crash, I mean Mark's mechanical on Sunday,
- 41:09cost more than Mazecki's crash on Saturday because it's half
- 41:12points in the Sprint. But I think they're going to go
- 41:15to Brazil and Ducati will regroup.
- 41:18Mark is going to continue to rehab and try to get in better
- 41:22shape. The sad part about it is you
- 41:24know you've got three races in less than 5 weeks and so it's
- 41:29not like Ducati and Mark are going to be able to do a whole
- 41:31lot of recouping in 2 1/2 weeks before Brazil and then another
- 41:35the following week. You go right to Coda.
- 41:38So they've got a very short period of time to do some stuff
- 41:40and then they've got a little bit of a break before they go
- 41:43start you during the European round.
- 41:44So Brazil is going to be a new track for everybody because
- 41:48nobody that's on the grid has ever raced at Brazil.
- 41:52Koda is going to be a good track for quite a few guys because
- 41:55quite a few guys shine at Koda. So it'll be a good competitive
- 41:58race and then we'll see what happens when we go back.
- 42:00But I don't think it's time for Ducati to throw up The, the,
- 42:04the, the, the, the, the bat signal.
- 42:06Like, you know, we need help. We're, you know, I there,
- 42:08there's plenty of guys there that know what they're doing and
- 42:11they're going to put the right pieces together and they're
- 42:13going to get the bike right up there competitive and at least
- 42:16the main guys are going to be back at the front.
- 42:19It's just they don't have that buffer that they had in the past
- 42:21where they were the best of the best.
- 42:24Now what else is catching up? Listen man, the only person
- 42:28that's feeling good is Furman because he's not there.
- 42:32Mobile Deli, Digia Pekko and and Perry Piero.
- 42:39What's his name? That was a Philip.
- 42:40Yeah, but he don't count. He don't count, but don't.
- 42:43Count like like. It's it's it's it's like, come
- 42:47on man. I mean, what do we what like
- 42:49Marquez is Quatar. I don't want to keep using this
- 42:51reference is Quatararo for Yamaha.
- 42:54Come on, Alex. I'm sorry, Alex Marquez is the
- 42:56other person I was trying to think of Alex had a horrible
- 42:59weekend as well. More or worse than Pekko because
- 43:01Alex is Pekko is in front of Alex some points.
- 43:04Yeah, I mean, again, it wasn't the best weekend for Ducati, but
- 43:07I I still don't think it's, you know, throw the baby out with
- 43:11the bathwater. I think it's sometimes you just
- 43:13have a bad weekend. You have a bad setup.
- 43:15The bike's not working, you know, before the next round.
- 43:19I wouldn't be surprised if they take some parts off of the 2024
- 43:22bike and mix it with the 2025 bike and try to find something
- 43:25that works a little bit better. Like they're not just going to
- 43:28sit back and, you know, take this as like, oh, this is a new
- 43:32bar. They're going to try to push the
- 43:33bar again. Listen, man, Marquez is Alex.
- 43:36I mean, Marc Marquez is already using the 24 arrow because of
- 43:40his physical lack of physical condition already.
- 43:44So I mean, how much more does he need to make it a 24 bike?
- 43:51But nonetheless, it it it it it's a issue, I think for Ducati
- 43:56because you got Aprilia, who's doing really well.
- 43:59First time that you got Aprilia had three wins in a row counting
- 44:03last the two last season season. And now you see what Raul is
- 44:07doing, you see what Iagura is doing and obviously Martine.
- 44:11Now we look at Martine. If is is is Martine back or is
- 44:15this just a fluke as well? Because I mean, listen, 4th
- 44:18place is like like three wins from Martine the way he looked
- 44:21this past weekend. What you guys thoughts on on how
- 44:24Martine did And we already talked about Aprilia about how
- 44:27Martine did as a bounce back TJ? I think he's he's he's done
- 44:33really well. I mean, you know, he's not in
- 44:36the media like he has been, you know, like he's a big story last
- 44:40year. And so he's kind of out of that
- 44:42kind of more focused on the season at hand.
- 44:45So he was injured previously for the testing and all that stuff.
- 44:49But I think he's good to go. This first race kind of
- 44:52definitely helped him out as a like a reference of like where
- 44:56he needs to be. I'm sure top 10 was, you know,
- 45:00like a, a base point and top five would be excellent where he
- 45:04is now. Like I think he's riding really
- 45:07well. So we'll see what what the
- 45:10second and third race has to offer, but I think he's sort of
- 45:15back, sure. OK.
- 45:17All right. What are your thoughts?
- 45:18Risa and Martine and I mean, you know, him and me are who, who
- 45:24unfortunately had mechanicals as well, but it's another guy that
- 45:27look really well, you know, you know, on, on a, on a bike
- 45:32outside of being on a Ducati. I mean Martin look real good.
- 45:37I mean he looks smooth. He look real good.
- 45:39I mean he looks strong. You know, we just I it'd be nice
- 45:43to see him keep it up in the next couple upcoming rounds, you
- 45:47know, see him not crash or hurt himself again.
- 45:51You know, so we all got to see what the the next couple of
- 45:54tracks or throughout the season, you know, how Aprilia takes to
- 45:57the tracks or how Martin even takes to certain tracks.
- 46:00I mean, like Lewis said, we're going to Brazil.
- 46:02You know, when Brazil comes up, no one's been there.
- 46:05So we got to see how everyone plays out.
- 46:08And then, you know, Koda is certain guys tracks.
- 46:12So I mean, there's there's different avenues and mirror
- 46:15look strong, except for that mechanical problem that I saw.
- 46:18I mean, he looked real strong. So that Honda looked strong.
- 46:21They looked like they were there out of the Japanese.
- 46:24They're one of the top ones. So I'm, you know, kudos to them.
- 46:28Right, right, right. Lewis Mann, what are you?
- 46:31What are your thoughts man? I mean, I because obviously
- 46:40he's, he's looking at, you know, where he's going to get signed
- 46:43for next year. So maybe he's trying to raise
- 46:45his stock and show up earlier that, you know, maybe he they
- 46:48should consider keeping him. I still don't think they're
- 46:50going to keep him. I think that the, the
- 46:54embarrassment of last year and the just the way he handled
- 46:56things, you know, I, I don't know much about that team, but
- 47:00in general, most teams don't like to be kind of dragged in
- 47:04front of the media and, and made to feel the way that they were
- 47:08made to feel and put in front of the media.
- 47:10But if he's a strong enough rider and he's competitive
- 47:13enough, maybe, maybe they'll consider keeping him.
- 47:16I don't know, but it's it's not hurting his stock to show that
- 47:20he's getting him back into shape, that he's in form and
- 47:23we'll see how it goes over the next couple of rounds.
- 47:25In the next couple of rounds. Is he going to be able to
- 47:27maintain the speed, maintain this form?
- 47:30I mean, finishing between Fernandez and Igura that are on
- 47:35satellite bikes and it's the same bike.
- 47:37It's probably not where you want to be.
- 47:39You want to be in front of the satellite bikes, but finishing
- 47:41sandwich between the two of them at least shows that you know how
- 47:44to ride the bike and that you're starting to adapt to the bike.
- 47:47And let's see how far he can get.
- 47:48You know, let's see if he can get back on the podium.
- 47:51Let's see if he can maybe get a win or two this year.
- 47:53I think his main job this year is to try to raise his stock
- 47:57again, because his stock took a huge hit last year.
- 48:00And if he's going to try to get a new contract, he wants to get
- 48:03paid either what he's getting paid or more.
- 48:06So he really needs to go out there and perform so that he can
- 48:09kind of go to other manufacturers.
- 48:10And hey, this is what I can do. This is what I can do, not what
- 48:14I did in the past, what I'm doing now.
- 48:16And if I'm doing this now, this is kind of what I believe I'm
- 48:19worth. And let's sit down and negotiate
- 48:21either with Aprilia or with somebody else.
- 48:23OK, all right. No doubt.
- 48:27Before I over, I ask, you know, is this is it?
- 48:31I mean, it's the first round, but it looks really crazy where
- 48:34Ducati hasn't been on on the podium in 88 races and stuff
- 48:40like that. But we'll, we'll, we'll push
- 48:41that a little bit further in the show.
- 48:44Let let let's talk about Yamaha. I mean, this is, I think this
- 48:49has got to be one of the worst outings that they've had.
- 48:52You know, Diego Marira finishing in front of top rack.
- 48:55So I, I can't feel good for a dude five years younger than you
- 48:59do to finishing, you know, 4 bikes in front of you, 5 bikes
- 49:03in front of you kind of thing. What's going on with Yamaha
- 49:06guys? I mean, is it just the first
- 49:09round? Are they going to figure it out
- 49:11or are they really in for another long season where at
- 49:16least, you know, Honda started figuring it out like 2 years
- 49:19ago. Last year they got on the podium
- 49:21several times and won some races.
- 49:23So at least you can say Honda is, is, is moving along further
- 49:28where Yaha really hasn't done much outside against some pole
- 49:32positions last year. What are your thoughts TJ and
- 49:34where Yamaha their first round and and being blue to you know,
- 49:40you know, I, I figured it was like 1617 eighteenth, 19th or
- 49:43something like that, which is ridiculous.
- 49:47Yeah, man, it's it is definitely not a good look.
- 49:49And they kind of said after testing that they just going to
- 49:53be in the back of the pack and there's no miracle, but they
- 49:58were all in the back of the pack.
- 50:00Not one of their bikes got into Q2.
- 50:03So, you know, they started all in the back of the pack.
- 50:06And usually you can fight through some guys with your
- 50:10skills, but they can't even do that.
- 50:12I mean, Fabio did the best he can out of all of them.
- 50:16But yeah, I mean, they were struggling to get anything out
- 50:20of the inline 4. And then you switch to the the
- 50:23V4 and then like, what do you do?
- 50:25Like they're going to develop late in the season possibly, but
- 50:29then we're going to a new season next year.
- 50:31So I think they're in trouble. No, I agree.
- 50:36I think so too. I mean, I mean, it's a bad look.
- 50:43This is my comment on Yamaha. I mean, you know, Lewis, man, I
- 50:56don't, I don't, I don't know. I mean, you know, we got to, we
- 50:58got to, I think there's something in recent applause.
- 51:01We got to, we got to pick them up.
- 51:08What's good, man? I mean it's, it's like, I mean I
- 51:13the only person I feel bad for is top rack.
- 51:16I mean, I feel bad for everybody because you know, Yamaha has
- 51:21been saying for several years, they're going to bring a new
- 51:23motor, they're going to do this, they're going to do that.
- 51:25They're going to, you know, we're going to evolve.
- 51:27We're going to be able to compete in the horsepower war
- 51:30and they're not doing it. They're not, you know, they're,
- 51:33they're they can't make a bike that that is competitive.
- 51:39It's it's just not happening for them.
- 51:41You know, you've got Jack Miller 15th in the spring.
- 51:45You've got Rin's 18th in the spring.
- 51:47You got Top Rack 20th in the Sprint.
- 51:49And yeah, Top Rack is a rookie. Well, you know who else is a
- 51:52rookie? Barrera, you know, and, and, and
- 51:57it just shows you that the Honda's a little bit better.
- 52:00And then you know, and then Cuadraro, I mean this weekend,
- 52:03obviously, you know, he had an issue and but even in this in
- 52:09the race itself, 17th place top rack, 15 place Rinz, 18th place
- 52:15Jack Miller, like Yamaha is the back marker now and I don't see
- 52:22them doing anything. I don't see this, this new V4
- 52:25motor. I don't know what direction they
- 52:28went with it. I don't know what they did.
- 52:30You know, I'm not one of their engineers, but whatever they
- 52:32did, it's wrong. It's not working.
- 52:34Whether it's the motor, the package, the length of the bike,
- 52:39dude, they, they need someone to come in there and write that
- 52:44shit. They need a really top notch
- 52:47crew chief. They need to kind of get rid of
- 52:49some people like they they it's time to make a major shake up at
- 52:52Yamaha because everything they're doing doesn't work.
- 52:55Say less man, say less. Reese, it's time for you to go
- 52:58to OGP. Yeah, I wish, man.
- 53:04Somebody, somebody is going there and clean house.
- 53:06Man, it's bad. It's time for you to throw some
- 53:09wrenches. Something needs to happen, man.
- 53:12It was, it was a little embarrassing, man, you know,
- 53:15beyond, you know, it was a little hurt.
- 53:17It was a little embarrassing. You know, I'm looking at the
- 53:19standings here, like Lewis said, I mean 14151718 place for the
- 53:24Yamaha guys in the race. And I mean you're sitting behind
- 53:27a rookie in 13 place. You know, you're sitting behind
- 53:31Honda, you're sitting behind more, you're sitting behind
- 53:34everybody. I mean, it was a little hurt.
- 53:36It was embarrassing. I, I mean, like, like Lewis even
- 53:40said, I mean, somebody that made that V4 some, some engineer,
- 53:44somebody that did it or whatever they did, they lost their way.
- 53:47They thought it was good and it, it doesn't work.
- 53:50And I, and I know the, from what I know from, you know, going
- 53:54over here and talking to, you know, like the guys in the, in
- 53:57corporate office, the Japanese guys are like they're old school
- 54:01and they're like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 54:03And I was telling them, I told them a long time ago, like, yo,
- 54:06something's broke. Fix this damn shit.
- 54:08Something's broke. Because I mean, before, before
- 54:11Ducati was winning, they had a bike that was fast but couldn't
- 54:14turn. Before KTM was winning, they had
- 54:17a bike that was fast, that couldn't turn.
- 54:19Honda had a bike that was fast, that couldn't turn.
- 54:22So like, how do you not bring a bike that's fast, that can't
- 54:25turn for Yamaha? I mean they they they they like
- 54:28at least at least be second in the speed trap.
- 54:32And then they're not that's not even secondary speed trap.
- 54:35They're still slow. The chassis sucks.
- 54:37And I mean, I'm looking at something.
- 54:38Quattro all says he don't even think that they're going to.
- 54:41He was, you know, they're not even going to have a new package
- 54:43until, you know, I think Le Mans or something, or even after.
- 54:48Yeah. So he was like, maybe I was
- 54:51optimistic. Maybe I was too optimistic.
- 54:53So I mean, I like, I feel bad for all four of them and I
- 54:56definitely feel bad for Top Rank for coming over and thinking
- 54:59things are going to be better. But I, I just feel bad for that
- 55:02whole, the whole, all the guys over there.
- 55:05Something's not right and they need to be fixed quick because
- 55:07it's embarrassing. No, you know, it's embarrassing
- 55:12for Yamaha because of where they've been.
- 55:16Obviously we've seen KTM when a Prolia goes through that.
- 55:19We've seen Kawasaki and Moto GP go go through that as well.
- 55:22Ducati was at the back of the pile as well and stuff like
- 55:26that. But you know, for you, you know,
- 55:29when you think about Moto GP, you think of Yamaha, you think
- 55:32of Honda, right. You think that you do think of
- 55:34Suzuki the early days and stuff like that.
- 55:36But for where they are right now and and for them to let let as
- 55:41much times time has lapsed and not start to move forward.
- 55:47I mean, I, I, you know, and I'm a fan of V4 engines, right?
- 55:50So I'm not going to sit here and say it's the V4 engine, but like
- 55:55this, this can't be a good look. And and I mean, if you're
- 55:58Cuatroara, you know, if Honda's offering you a seat, you're
- 56:02going to take it. I mean, hell, if I, if I was
- 56:04cuatroara, I'll be going to Grassini at this point.
- 56:06You got a better shot. I mean they.
- 56:08'D have been better off just buying this old Suzuki packet.
- 56:11Like Lewis said a while ago, buying that old Suzuki motor and
- 56:14and use that as a platform, you'd have been better off
- 56:17buying that thing. Yeah, yeah, you know what I
- 56:20mean? So that that's pretty tough.
- 56:23Let's look at let's talk about Honda before we look at the
- 56:25points and get out of here, guys.
- 56:28You know, I think you know, Luca, I was hoping Luca Marina
- 56:32had a better, better outing than he did.
- 56:36Mayor had a really good outing, had mechanical, you know.
- 56:39What are your thoughts on on Honda, where they're at?
- 56:42It seems like KTM is is sitting here saying we going to be #3
- 56:50TJ. I think, I think Honda, Honda is
- 56:54stepping it up for sure. I feel like they were going to
- 56:56improve pretty fast. I'm just hoping mayor does not
- 57:00start with this, you know, P and FSI mean, obviously this wasn't
- 57:04his fault. I mean, he always seemed like he
- 57:07has that ballot behind him. So like he's doing really well.
- 57:12Look at Marini. I feel it's definitely going to
- 57:16do a lot better. I mean, he started OK and I
- 57:19think he finished with 10th in the Sprint and a little better
- 57:23in the GP and hopes a little better from Zarko.
- 57:28But Honda, is it going in the right direction for them to get
- 57:33past KTMI? Think it's possible, you know,
- 57:37but you know, the on the KTM side, Fasadini is going to have
- 57:42to step up instead and and help Acosta and hopefully Maverick.
- 57:46But I think Honda's going in the right direction, mirrors very
- 57:49smooth and hopefully you can just get more finishes.
- 57:54OK, OK, I, I, I, I agree. I hope it gets better.
- 57:58What are your thoughts, Reese? On our way.
- 58:00Where? Honda's Diego Marira, I mean,
- 58:04you know, this guy spent a couple of years in Moto 2.
- 58:07I mean, I know that Acosta has a better record than he has
- 58:11looking at Moto 3 and Moto 2 and stuff like that, but the guy
- 58:16doesn't look that slow for for rookie and Moto GP for his first
- 58:20round. What are your thoughts, Reese?
- 58:21No, I mean, looking here, I mean, he finished what, 13th in
- 58:25the the race and he finished 13th again in the Sprint.
- 58:30I mean, but for his his times, he's he's pretty quick.
- 58:35I mean, I give him a couple more rounds just to kind of get his
- 58:38head wrapped around it. You know, it's a little bit
- 58:40different ball game stepping up from the Moto 2 to the GP set
- 58:43round, you know, so I give him a little bit more time and I think
- 58:48he'll be right there in the mix and be a, you know, someone to
- 58:50be talking about coming down the line.
- 58:53So I mean, I definitely give the kids his flowers.
- 58:55You know, he's got something there.
- 58:59Yeah, I I agree. What what are your thoughts
- 59:01overall on what Honda is doing? Do we keep the guys for next
- 59:05year or do we sign slow people on Yamaha?
- 59:14I got to hear Lewis's. I mean, I mean, Moreira
- 59:20outperformed the OR the entire Yamaha squad.
- 59:23He in both races, in the Sprint and in the race he came out in
- 59:27front of all four Yamahas. Yeah.
- 59:30So as Yamaha, that's another punch in the eye is this kid
- 59:33who's only been racing his bike about a week and a half
- 59:37outperformed all four of our riders.
- 59:39So that's two things. One kid has talent. 2 Honda is
- 59:42way ahead of us 'cause this kid that literally just started last
- 59:45week outperformed our entire team in both races, the Sprint
- 59:49and the full race. And, and and you know, three
- 59:52time rural super bike champion, the one time Moto GP champion.
- 59:57Yeah, I mean, well, we we said a couple of weeks back, top rack
- 1:00:01is not going to come into Moto GP and set the world on fire,
- 1:00:05especially not on the Yamaha. And especially it's going to
- 1:00:07take them time to adapt to the bikes, the electronics and more
- 1:00:10than anything else, the tires, you know, these these tires that
- 1:00:13aren't working for him. And he's even said it that when
- 1:00:16he was behind Jack Miller into practice.
- 1:00:19As he was following him and he was seeing what Jack Miller was
- 1:00:22doing, you know, he's trying to adapt his riding style to
- 1:00:25maximize what the what the tires can do because he didn't think
- 1:00:28the tires can do what what needs to be done.
- 1:00:31Like he's starting to understand even in the one race he got to
- 1:00:34the end of the front straight and he was worried that he his
- 1:00:36brakes weren't hot enough to actually stop the bike.
- 1:00:40So, you know, it's a huge learning curve when you're
- 1:00:43coming from a super bike that has, you know, steel rotors to a
- 1:00:46Moto GP bike. But let me ask this though.
- 1:00:49I mean, Diego Maria is coming from, you know, Triumph engine
- 1:00:56Moto 2 Calyx, right? I mean are you trying to say the
- 1:01:00Moto 2 bike is more complicated than a world super bike?
- 1:01:04I think the Moto 2 bike makes adaptation to the Moto G Pipe B
- 1:01:08bike better than adaptation from a World Super bike to a Moto GP
- 1:01:12bike because you're, you're kind of being groomed into what Moto
- 1:01:16GP bikes are by being in Moto 3 and Moto two and you're in the
- 1:01:20paddock all the time. So you also have access to the
- 1:01:22Moto GP riders like Moreira has a really good relationship
- 1:01:25between with Alex Marquez and Mark Marquez and several other
- 1:01:29Spanish riders. Whereas if you come from the
- 1:01:32world super bike paddock, you know, nobody there is using
- 1:01:35carbon fiber disc brakes, nobody there is using ride height
- 1:01:38devices. Nobody's using this, Nobody's
- 1:01:40using that. You know, it's, it looks like a
- 1:01:42bike. It sounds like a bike, but it's
- 1:01:45a much different animal than a super bike.
- 1:01:49Definitely, definitely. Let's, let's, who do we talk
- 1:01:56about? We didn't talk about Rinz.
- 1:01:58We didn't talk about. No need to talk about him.
- 1:02:00We. Didn't talk about and we and we
- 1:02:03didn't talk about Benda, although Benda had a pretty good
- 1:02:05weekend and we didn't talk about MOBA Deli and Digia as well.
- 1:02:12These are all guys that you know is, you know, 1 foot in one foot
- 1:02:16out of Moto GP for the most part, right.
- 1:02:19Safe to say. What do these guys need to do
- 1:02:23for the next round? I mean, you mean you know, when
- 1:02:26Mobidelli finished 8th, did you finish 6th?
- 1:02:30So I think did you out of all of them is doing the best.
- 1:02:33But Zarko Mobidelli, Bender Bender also finished fairly
- 1:02:38well, but he last year is not enough. 11 round is not enough.
- 1:02:42I I, I mean the simplest win, but like, is it is it, you know,
- 1:02:46take the team out to dinner, take the team out to a poker
- 1:02:50game play we going swimming together.
- 1:02:53Like, you know, what are these guys got to do to to ensure that
- 1:02:57they have the best outcome to keep themselves into Moto GP?
- 1:03:01One word, consistency. Yeah, I was going to say the
- 1:03:05same thing. And then and also you got to
- 1:03:09have you got to have fun too. So like you was just mentioning
- 1:03:13like go out to a dinner or something.
- 1:03:15So I mean, I'm sure they do that, but you want to see
- 1:03:18improvement in your, your, your team in your package.
- 1:03:21And then that makes the the rider has more fun, you know
- 1:03:25what I'm saying? And when you're having more fun,
- 1:03:26you get sure, you get more better improvement.
- 1:03:29And then, you know, do something like go out to dinner and do fun
- 1:03:32things to take your mind off the race a little bit.
- 1:03:34But definitely more consistency and they're going to have to get
- 1:03:39more wins. I really thought did you was
- 1:03:40going to be up there from how we started in the practice and then
- 1:03:44qualifying news on the 2nd row. I know we got into that incident
- 1:03:49with Alex and I just kind of, you know, mess it up a little
- 1:03:54bit. He did finish pretty well
- 1:03:55though. But yeah, 6th and 8th, yeah.
- 1:03:58So, but that I just think that VR46 like more videlity stepping
- 1:04:03up a little bit, you know, it's the first race.
- 1:04:08It's it's the first race and a pretty wild.
- 1:04:11What are your thoughts, Reese And and and we'll move to the to
- 1:04:15Lewis and then we'll we'll bring up the the the scoring.
- 1:04:19I mean the same thing, just consistency, you know, show a
- 1:04:23level of, you know, will, you know, and not just kind of
- 1:04:28sitting back there and just, you know, you want to be up there in
- 1:04:31the in the fight, at least giving yourself an opportunity
- 1:04:34in the fight. And that's, you know, way back
- 1:04:36there and, you know, under the top ten, you know, you know,
- 1:04:4011th, 12:00 and all that. Or the same positions that you
- 1:04:44were the year before. You know, you want to show
- 1:04:46improvement. When you're not showing
- 1:04:47improvement, it's kind of a waste.
- 1:04:51You know, you're kind of just you're almost like holding up a
- 1:04:53seat. It's not, I mean, they needed,
- 1:04:56you know, show the improvement of I've been out here training,
- 1:05:00I'm getting better, I got faster and you know, everything else.
- 1:05:03But they're not showing that they're still in that kind of
- 1:05:05that same, they're in that same little era, that little, same
- 1:05:08little group. OK, I agree.
- 1:05:12I agree. What are your thoughts, Louis?
- 1:05:14I mean, they definitely need to do something to keep showing
- 1:05:18their value. But I think some like of the
- 1:05:23people that you mentioned, I think the one person that
- 1:05:26probably is most desperate to find a ride is probably going to
- 1:05:29be the Jan Antonio because if Luca.
- 1:05:32Yeah. Because if Luca Marini loses his
- 1:05:34spot on a Honda and can't find a ride somewhere else, he's going
- 1:05:40to end up back on AVR 46 because I can't see his brother not
- 1:05:43giving him a job. VR46 Academy and the Jan
- 1:05:50Antonio's not. Yeah, if the rumors are true,
- 1:05:52Morbideli might go to World Super Bike next year.
- 1:05:58We'll see. We'll see.
- 1:06:00But you know, if it came down to picking between the Dan Antonio
- 1:06:03and Morbideli and Rossi had to pick one, he's going to probably
- 1:06:08keep Morbideli because he is a official member of the VR46
- 1:06:11Academy and the Jan Antonio's not the Jan Antonio's on the
- 1:06:14outside looking in. And even though Rossi wants to
- 1:06:18keep an Italian right on the grid, he's got his brother.
- 1:06:20And if his brother can't find another ride, I got one right
- 1:06:23here in this yellow and black bike.
- 1:06:24I just got to get rid of this other.
- 1:06:26Dude, so it sounds like it sounds like you're saying did
- 1:06:30you is going to the factory Yamaha next year?
- 1:06:36He's going to have to go somewhere because again, if if
- 1:06:44Marini doesn't find a ride, the Jan Antonio's job is definitely
- 1:06:47at risk. Let's put.
- 1:06:48It that way. All right, No, I, I agree.
- 1:06:50I agree. I agree.
- 1:06:51I agree. Listen, man, it's, it's, it's,
- 1:06:53it's a cutthroat thing and you know, there's some points of
- 1:06:57nepotism. All right, guys, you know I, I
- 1:07:02go ahead. We got the Daytona this weekend.
- 1:07:04We going to make predictions for this weekend.
- 1:07:08No, we can. We'll, we'll we can in a second,
- 1:07:10you know, you know, you guys can see where things look right now.
- 1:07:16It's. Only it's round one SEC.
- 1:07:25You know, I'm just saying so it, it, it's, you know, we got a
- 1:07:30little bit of time, so we got a few weeks so we don't have to
- 1:07:32pick. So it'll give you some guide,
- 1:07:34some time do some research and and see if you guys I I don't
- 1:07:38like to talk trash, so I'll leave it there.
- 1:07:40It's. It's only round one.
- 1:07:44It's a little early to start talking to trash.
- 1:07:47I can't start unraveling the the the wire around the champagne
- 1:07:50bottle, no. Not yet, man.
- 1:07:55You ain't up by that much on me. No, I'm not.
- 1:08:00That's like, that's like Pedro thinking he going to win the
- 1:08:02championship already. Hold on, man, hold on.
- 1:08:06Hasn't. Really won a race?
- 1:08:08Technically this yet? Isn't isn't it?
- 1:08:12Isn't that the worst though, Right for Pedro, right to get
- 1:08:16that first one? That's like, man, that's not how
- 1:08:18you want to win it. And that's, that's the other
- 1:08:22thing is that he won. It is great.
- 1:08:25But again, man, to win with that asterisk, I, I, you know what, I
- 1:08:29think you're going to put a, a fire under him to, to legit win
- 1:08:33under his belt as quickly as possible to, to show people,
- 1:08:36hey, it's not a freak. You know, I've been racing for a
- 1:08:39while, you know, yeah, these other guys have gotten, you
- 1:08:42know, Furman's won and and all these other guys have won.
- 1:08:45But I'm still, I'm still in the rookie class.
- 1:08:48I'll say guys that have been GP less than five years.
- 1:08:51He's still the benchmark. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:54And, and you know, the crazy thing is when he said it today,
- 1:08:57he's like, I've only been here for three.
- 1:08:59This is my third year. Yeah, it's, it's like, yeah,
- 1:09:03that's right. It's like it's only been a
- 1:09:05couple of years. So you know what I'm saying for
- 1:09:08where he is And, and we and we can look at all these a lot of
- 1:09:10other riders. He's a lot further than, I mean,
- 1:09:14Miller coming in, Ren's coming in, Vanilla's coming.
- 1:09:17Every other rider outside of Marquez.
- 1:09:21Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:09:24You know, I mean how long? I mean, I want to save it, took
- 1:09:28Miller. I don't know how many years.
- 1:09:31He didn't do anything on the Honda, so he had to give out
- 1:09:33Honda, Honda so. Yeah, I haven't really did
- 1:09:39something on the to. To Miller, forever.
- 1:09:42He might have. Got a rain Yamaha?
- 1:09:43No, I think he might have got a rain race on the on the Honda.
- 1:09:46I think he might have got a a podium on the Honda in the rain
- 1:09:49race. Miller.
- 1:09:50I don't know what it was, but I know he did because one time he
- 1:09:52didn't go in and he was the only one on the grid.
- 1:09:55Yeah, yeah. And he no, no, no, he that was,
- 1:09:58that was in Germany, he still lost, even though he was the
- 1:10:01only one on the grid, he still got smoked.
- 1:10:07Yeah, we got to check now. So, yeah, so.
- 1:10:09You got to have me go do some research and check this out.
- 1:10:11I said right here, Jack Miller. But you know, it it, it's pretty
- 1:10:15impressive what what Acosta is doing.
- 1:10:20I mean, and I and I hope that Furman algae is probably the
- 1:10:24closest thing to Acosta. And and so if anybody, anybody
- 1:10:30can knock Acosta off, it would be Furman.
- 1:10:33I mean, Diego could do it too. But I think Furman did had a
- 1:10:36better motor two career than Diego even though he won the
- 1:10:40world title. He won his first race in 2016 in
- 1:10:45Asin in the range shortened race.
- 1:10:48On what kind of? On what?
- 1:10:49By On Mark VDS Honda. OK.
- 1:10:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, so that was 2016 and Jack
- 1:10:55Miller joined Moto GP. 2013, I think he came in with Mark, yes.
- 1:11:02Let's see, Let's see. Join Moto GP, he's been there a
- 1:11:11long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:15He's. Been 2015. 2015, second year,
- 1:11:19yeah, Oh, second year, won a race.
- 1:11:20That's not bad. Active years 2015 to current.
- 1:11:23Yeah, 2013. Not at all.
- 1:11:27He got one before Costa got one. That's why they're keeping them.
- 1:11:32Stop. It stop it.
- 1:11:36All these wins got asterisks. Oh, rain, short and race.
- 1:11:39Acosta got a penalty to win the race.
- 1:11:41A lot of asterisks, man. No, let's see, Acosta.
- 1:11:44Acosta will get a legitimate win, a legitimate second win
- 1:11:48before Miller ever got a legitimate second win.
- 1:11:51So that's the only win that Miller has.
- 1:11:54I think he's got maybe like 6. OK, so he got a legitimate 1
- 1:11:57after that, but I know what you mean though not like you know,
- 1:12:00but you know, we you know, we we're not going to do that.
- 1:12:02We'll leave that for the other shows, man.
- 1:12:04Let we'll let them do all that. A win is a win and you show up,
- 1:12:08you hit the you hit a home run. That's what it is.
- 1:12:10I don't care what you took before you got here all.
- 1:12:14Right, so he's got 4 Moto GP wins in his illustrious 11 year
- 1:12:21career to this point. Listen man, that's more than me.
- 1:12:28Four Moto GP wins and six Moto three wins.
- 1:12:32Yeah, and he's skipped Moto 2, right?
- 1:12:36So yeah. Yeah, he.
- 1:12:40That's like Kevin Garnett, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:12:42And, and Kevin went into the Celtics.
- 1:12:46So you know how that go, you know, but no, that I, you know,
- 1:12:50I don't know if we'll still, we'll just, I guess we did see
- 1:12:52that with Darren Bender skipping Moto 2 and going and coming
- 1:12:57straight from Moto GP and it didn't work out for him and, and
- 1:13:01it barely worked out for Jack. But you know, I mean, I think
- 1:13:04Jack would probably say he had a amazing career, but if he
- 1:13:07probably stayed in Moto 21-A year, 2 year and came to Moto
- 1:13:10GP, he might have learned a couple of things and probably
- 1:13:13would have gotten a better seat than he got when he first came
- 1:13:16into Moto GP as well, so. Darren Mender is with us.
- 1:13:22Yes. And then I was going.
- 1:13:24To say Jack Miller won the the top top thing with the top rat
- 1:13:30they got to win this past weekend.
- 1:13:34Oh, do you see that? That.
- 1:13:36Three wheel that three wheel, yeah car, whatever they were.
- 1:13:40Yeah yeah. I'm sitting here like bro y'all
- 1:13:42ain't got any gloves on or helmet y'all are doing.
- 1:13:48I know what was going on playing.
- 1:13:49Yeah, I was. Just like man, I look kind of
- 1:13:52dangerous, but what else? We'll, we'll take it.
- 1:13:56All right, so let's do some predictions for Daytona 200.
- 1:14:02I'll see you guys there I think on Wednesday or Thursday.
- 1:14:06You know, I have no idea. I, I, I don't even know who to
- 1:14:08pick. So who has their first one?
- 1:14:132-3 or what 3 riders are they picking?
- 1:14:18I mean Lewis. I got to see a list, but you
- 1:14:21know, so Brandon Posh, I'm sure he's going to be out there.
- 1:14:26Possibly Posh going to be out there.
- 1:14:29He's always a front runner. You.
- 1:14:31Know you going to do, Peter Hickman?
- 1:14:35Yeah, I mean, I don't know if my guy Josh Sharon is running, but
- 1:14:41he's one. Of the past.
- 1:14:42He's running. He's running.
- 1:14:43He's. Running in the past three years.
- 1:14:45So and then hopefully Escalante cannot run out of gas.
- 1:14:50Maybe he can possibly finish too.
- 1:14:52I mean like past 2 Daytona, 2 hundreds, he ran out of gas.
- 1:14:56It had to push the finish line. But I haven't seen a list.
- 1:15:00But that'll be my my 3 right there.
- 1:15:05OK, alright, I'll, I'll, you know, I'll go Hickman, I'll go
- 1:15:09Heron and and who? Who else is running it?
- 1:15:17I'll go Ella Drea. She's running youngest ever.
- 1:15:25Man, I got Heron Posh and then I got to go with the guy that
- 1:15:31Lewis hates, you know, Blake. I I hate a lot of people.
- 1:15:37Blake. No, no, Blake's my boy, man.
- 1:15:40You got to mixed up the the first guy you chose.
- 1:15:43That's the dude that I. Right, I have to go meet and
- 1:15:52greet and have a have a mediation.
- 1:15:56No, I actually saw him. I saw him yesterday at A at an
- 1:16:00at an orange cat event. Who?
- 1:16:03Josh. Oh, God.
- 1:16:07So you guys, you, you you nodded each other.
- 1:16:10Say what up? Nah.
- 1:16:12Nah. Gonna taste that man.
- 1:16:14He don't know me, I don't know him, and I'm cool with that.
- 1:16:17OK. All right.
- 1:16:20All right, I'll leave. It I'll leave it at that.
- 1:16:22For the hooligans, for the Hooligans race.
- 1:16:27Hooligans race is going to be interesting, man.
- 1:16:30Yeah, we just we. We just talking about the Super
- 1:16:31sport, man. Oh, just the Super sport.
- 1:16:33All right, So just the Super sport.
- 1:16:34I'm gonna, I'm going to put some money behind.
- 1:16:39I mean Escalante just because I really want to see Escalante
- 1:16:43win. He's been super competitive the
- 1:16:45last couple of years and he just hasn't been able to, he just
- 1:16:49hasn't been able to time that goddamn gas stop.
- 1:16:52We're at the right department. Last year, like, you know, Tyler
- 1:16:57Scott had a good run going until somebody, you know, nudged him
- 1:17:01into the grass racing incident. Whatever.
- 1:17:08Escalante probably first. I'm going to go with my boy
- 1:17:15Demario. I think, you know, the Mario,
- 1:17:20the Mario knows how to ride, man, and people are going to be
- 1:17:22surprised. I think he's going to show
- 1:17:24people pretty quickly how quickly he adapts to that super
- 1:17:27sport. So I'm going to go with Demario
- 1:17:30and then and then Blake that that would be my, my, my perfect
- 1:17:36top three. It would be Escalante, Demario
- 1:17:39and Blake and Blake and Escalante.
- 1:17:41I mean, Blake and Demario 2 and 3, three and two doesn't matter.
- 1:17:44Like that's those are the three guys I would like to see on the
- 1:17:47podium. Is Demario and shape though to
- 1:17:49run that long 200? Ed, bro Nah.
- 1:17:52He's he's, he's, he's in shape, bro.
- 1:17:55Trust me, he's in shape, kids ready to go.
- 1:17:59He's been doing a lot of, lot of training or this past winter he
- 1:18:03did a lot of racing. He's he can make it, man.
- 1:18:08Now, The thing is, of course, this is the one race where your
- 1:18:11team and the pit crew comes into play.
- 1:18:14I know the Ray Hall team's got a great pit crew, so between
- 1:18:18Demario and Kayla, I know they're going to have the right
- 1:18:20people there to support them. M4 usually has a good set up.
- 1:18:27You know, they just need the right gas canister because they
- 1:18:29keep misjudging the amount of fuel on the M4 Suzuki's for some
- 1:18:33reason. And then on the Yamaha side, I
- 1:18:37think Blake Davis is going to have everything that Yamaha
- 1:18:40could possibly throw at him because Yamaha wants to win
- 1:18:42that. Race, you know.
- 1:18:45And he's, he's, he, he's the Yamaha R9 guy that's flying the
- 1:18:49Yamaha flag. He's like the official blue crew
- 1:18:51rider for Yamaha in the in that series.
- 1:18:53So they're going to do everything they can to try to
- 1:18:55help him get on that podium. This what's up?
- 1:19:00I'm looking forward to it and I will see you guys either
- 1:19:04Wednesday or Thursday. I'm still working out my
- 1:19:05schedule. Definitely by Thursday.
- 1:19:08I'm excited to take in Daytona. It's been a little bit for me,
- 1:19:13so I'm very excited. This be for a cool podcast.
- 1:19:16My name is Rexy 45. I want to thank TJ with two
- 1:19:19wheels and coffee Reese from Attack Yamaha 3.
- 1:19:22Luis Ortega, the numbers guy. Peace.
- 1:19:26Peace.
