- 0:07Speaker 2: Handle on the news! It's the news!
- 0:10Speaker 3: It's the news!
- 0:12Speaker 2: And now, handle on the news.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, here's not Bill Handel.
- 0:22Speaker 2: All right, Monday morning. Good people across the fruited plains.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Anybody remember that old voice? These stories in my formerly
- 0:37Speaker 2: nicotine-stained fingers. Miss Rush. He's an interesting guy. Fascinating guy.
- 0:44Speaker 2: KFI AM 640. Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Good
- 0:49Speaker 2: Monday morning to you. It is the Bill Handel Show.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Neil Saavedra and the Morning Crew with you. Handel's on vacation.
- 0:57Speaker 2: And we are here for you this week. He'll be
- 0:59Speaker 2: out for the next two weeks, I think. Something like that.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Good morning, Amy.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Good morning, Neil.
- 1:06Speaker 2: My fearless flying friend.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Right back at you.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, look at us. And God bless every single one
- 1:13Speaker 2: who donated. You guys rock. We hit the 30,000 mark
- 1:19Speaker 2: in change because of you. And that... That is awe-inspiring,
- 1:25Speaker 2: and I got to tell you, both Amy and I
- 1:26Speaker 2: were exchanging texts and just blown away by your generosity.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, thank you. You heard Amy talking
- 1:36Speaker 2: this morning on Wake Up Call about our rappel down
- 1:42Speaker 2: the Hilton there in Universal City right off of the
- 1:45Speaker 2: 101 on Friday. So we did it around noon, 1 a.m.
- 1:50Speaker 2: In the afternoon somewhere around there.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It was a beautiful day. The fog lifted so you
- 1:54Speaker 3: could see the pool below.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 3: There was that cloud bank in earlier and they were
- 2:00Speaker 3: saying that it was really eerie standing on top of
- 2:03Speaker 3: the building because you couldn't see the ground.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'm all right with that.
- 2:06Speaker 3: No, still, it just that makes it feel even more
- 2:10Speaker 3: like a movie or something. You're going into the abyss.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm all right with that. So, Amy, you know, we're
- 2:17Speaker 2: going on top of the building and she says, hey.
- 2:20Speaker 2: She's got a GoPro on her helmet, and she goes, hey,
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm going to go over, and then you come and
- 2:26Speaker 2: look down at me, and I'm going to video you.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm not looking down before I go over.
- 2:33Speaker 2: We covered this last time.
- 2:35Speaker 3: That's right. You made that mistake last year, so we
- 2:37Speaker 3: didn't get that shot.
- 2:38Speaker 2: This year was nothing. Didn't think about it at all.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Matter of fact- It was more fun this year. Yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 2: but I still don't get it. I don't have- Two
- 2:48Speaker 2: guys went over before us. They had their own gear.
- 2:51Speaker 3: They were members of a search and rescue crew.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Well, I talked to Oz, who was one of the guys.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Handsome fella. And we started chatting about, you know, what
- 3:02Speaker 2: he was doing. And he is a stunt man, a
- 3:05Speaker 2: stunt performer. in addition to an actor. And he's the
- 3:09Speaker 2: guy that gets lit on fire at the... Universal Studios.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Universal Studios Waterworld, which is absolutely phenomenal. I told him
- 3:19Speaker 2: it's one of my favorite things in the whole world.
- 3:21Speaker 3: It's everybody's favorite. It's been around for like 30 years.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but I've always loved it. He told me, because
- 3:25Speaker 2: he's a young guy, he told me he was five
- 3:27Speaker 2: years old when he saw it and he wanted to
- 3:29Speaker 2: be a part of it. And now he is. And
- 3:32Speaker 2: so he does Search and Rescue... And they go over
- 3:36Speaker 2: cliffs and everything in the mountains and do that. I mean,
- 3:39Speaker 2: what a stud, right? And these guys are going down
- 3:42Speaker 2: like Tom Cruise. I'm spinning. My legs are going over
- 3:46Speaker 2: my head. I still don't know how to repel properly,
- 3:52Speaker 2: like how to distribute your weight. And they were telling
- 3:56Speaker 2: me you have to go kind of limp and keep
- 3:59Speaker 2: your legs underneath you. And you'll sit up straight because
- 4:03Speaker 2: I can feel myself going back.
- 4:06Speaker 3: You were kind.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Of splayed out a couple of times.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I thought you had locked up.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Well, I did. I was locked up. I was having
- 4:13Speaker 2: issues with my main line, which I don't normally. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: usually have it with the backup line because I like
- 4:18Speaker 2: going fast. And so it will lock up if you
- 4:22Speaker 2: get too fast. And I dealt with it myself. I mean,
- 4:27Speaker 2: the third time, you kind of get the hang of
- 4:29Speaker 2: how to use the equipment. But it would throw me back.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And when I was heavier, they had to tie me
- 4:38Speaker 2: in a certain way and it would prop me up differently.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So I don't know what I'm doing, but I enjoyed it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And once I'm sitting on it and I go about
- 4:50Speaker 2: six feet down from the top, then I don't care
- 4:53Speaker 2: if I look down or anything. It's a different experience
- 4:55Speaker 2: for me. Going over That edge, which you've talked about before,
- 5:03Speaker 2: that safety fence going over that when you still feel
- 5:08Speaker 2: like you're holding on to the building and you could fall. Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: That's what flips me out if I'm in my head.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That's the scariest part for me is once you get
- 5:18Speaker 3: over the railing and then they tell you to sit down.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah. And then you sit down and you kind of.
- 5:24Speaker 2: You have to really get it in your head that
- 5:25Speaker 2: there is nothing you can do. It is all the
- 5:29Speaker 2: equipment and the people that you're trusting.
- 5:32Speaker 3: In fact, the search and rescue guys, and I'm not
- 5:34Speaker 3: sure if it was Oz or the other gentleman, they
- 5:37Speaker 3: were so wonderful. And like, you got this, you got this,
- 5:40Speaker 3: as everybody was. But they said, this is the safest
- 5:43Speaker 3: place you'll be all day.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You can tell that way... They checked everything
- 5:49Speaker 2: I watch because I'm interested. I'm fascinated by it. And
- 5:52Speaker 2: I got a wife and, you know, a nine-year-old boy who,
- 5:56Speaker 2: quite frankly, would be better off financially and beyond. But, yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 2: it just it was fascinating. I know you had the
- 6:07Speaker 2: honor of going over the edge with Mark Hood. Who
- 6:12Speaker 2: is the head honcho there at Union Rescue Mission.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Somebody called him your highness.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah. He is just about as humble and kind as
- 6:22Speaker 2: you could possibly come across. And the only horrible thing,
- 6:26Speaker 2: and we have to change this this year, Amy, is
- 6:28Speaker 2: that we don't get to or we just don't see
- 6:31Speaker 2: him often. in between these jumps yes and we should
- 6:35Speaker 2: yeah he's a really neat guy yep um but thanks
- 6:38Speaker 2: again to all of you it was it was quite
- 6:40Speaker 2: wonderful will my man where are you buddy good morning
- 6:44Speaker 2: good morning sir uh thanks for joining us it was
- 6:47Speaker 2: neat to have you there and taking pictures and video
- 6:50Speaker 2: and all of that well i was ready to sell
- 6:52Speaker 2: it if something went wrong yeah hello tmz harvey.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Video from the scene.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Neil bounced twice. But ended up in the pool. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 2: That pool's beautiful, but it's not big. I think I
- 7:09Speaker 2: could take all the water out of that pretty quickly. Well,
- 7:11Speaker 2: good Monday morning to you, sir. Hey, Kodo.
- 7:15Speaker 1: What's up, Neil?
- 7:15Speaker 2: How you doing, brother? Pretty good. Anything you want to
- 7:18Speaker 2: tell anybody? Rough weekend. What happened?
- 7:21Speaker 4: USC lost to Oregon.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Oh, it was a bad loss. Knocked out their quarterback. Oh,
- 7:27Speaker 2: that was terrible. Okay. Rams lost last night. Okay, what's
- 7:32Speaker 2: your thought on that? I know that the QB went
- 7:36Speaker 2: down late. He slid late.
- 7:38Speaker 4: It was a cheap shot.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, because you had to aim low, right?
- 7:42Speaker 4: No, not necessarily aim low. He just knew that he
- 7:45Speaker 4: was going down and then didn't hold up at all.
- 7:49Speaker 4: But then to add insult to injury, he celebrated after.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that was.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Even on the sideline when you know that the guy.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Oh, it's trash. I'm sorry. That's trash. That's trash behavior. Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 2: That's what we tell Max about things. That's trash behavior
- 8:08Speaker 2: on stuff when you're that way.
- 8:10Speaker 4: So I'm just recovering from being sad for.
- 8:14Speaker 2: The last two days.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Sad.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Oh, no. Yeah, I'm sad. Oh, buddy. Anything you want
- 8:20Speaker 2: to announce or? I told you. Oh, the Astros clinched
- 8:25Speaker 2: the playoffs. No one cares about the Astros. Sub 500 record.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Cheaters.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Well, that was 10 years ago. They're trash.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Langers.
- 8:33Speaker 2: They're trash.
- 8:34Speaker 3: What?
- 8:35Speaker 2: They're trash.
- 8:35Speaker 4: No, it's 10 years ago.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Okay. And Anne, my sweet Anne, how are you this morning? Hi, Neil.
- 8:45Speaker 2: She lights the room up. I love you so much.
- 8:49Speaker 2: All right. Let's get started. Shall we go handle on
- 8:53Speaker 2: the news? Lead story. All right. U.N. Ambassador Waltz speaking
- 9:01Speaker 2: out on the Iran situation and says that Iran was
- 9:06Speaker 2: not negotiating in good faith to end the war. He
- 9:10Speaker 2: has rejected negotiations. Iran's proposal to end the war because
- 9:15Speaker 2: they were asking for everything up front. And that's kind
- 9:20Speaker 2: of what you do in a negotiation, right? And then
- 9:21Speaker 2: you strip things back. And I heard this morning during
- 9:26Speaker 2: wake-up call with Amy King that, I mean, some are
- 9:31Speaker 2: saying that Trump just wants to get past the midterms
- 9:35Speaker 2: and then So we'll see how that ends up going.
- 9:46Speaker 2: That's my sound effects. That's supposed to be funny. Well,
- 9:48Speaker 2: it's not funny, but it's like it's the way things
- 9:53Speaker 2: are going to be. I mean, that's what you're negotiating
- 9:56Speaker 2: to not have that.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Exactly. Speaking of bombs and such, how's this for dangling
- 10:04Speaker 3: a rather dangerous carrot? President Trump was talking about arms
- 10:11Speaker 3: sales to Taiwan when he had his discussions with China's
- 10:15Speaker 3: President Xi Jinping when he was in town last week.
- 10:17Speaker 3: He downplayed it as just one of many sales that
- 10:20Speaker 3: Washington makes around the world and even apparently asked Xi
- 10:23Speaker 3: at some point if he'd be in the market for
- 10:25Speaker 3: some U.S.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Weapons.
- 10:29Speaker 3: David Perdue said Trump raised this prospect of arms sales
- 10:34Speaker 3: from the U.S. This is Trump's ambassador to China. And
- 10:38Speaker 3: Perdue said Trump is as strong on Taiwan as he's
- 10:41Speaker 3: ever seen anybody in. And has sold plenty of weapons
- 10:44Speaker 3: to Taiwan, but also that Trump and Xi continue to
- 10:47Speaker 3: talk about future U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan. And then
- 10:51Speaker 3: at some point said, hey, you know, we might even
- 10:53Speaker 3: sell to you, China.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. Trump's dark. You got to love it.
- 10:59Speaker 2: It's a. All right. UK police. This is crazy and
- 11:05Speaker 2: all over the news today. The UK police said that
- 11:09Speaker 2: five men have been arrested in the early hours of yesterday.
- 11:14Speaker 2: And this was near an airbase used by the United States.
- 11:17Speaker 2: This is what we used during our war against Iran.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And they are being held on suspicion of preparing a
- 11:26Speaker 2: terrorist act. that appear to involve the three trucks. And
- 11:31Speaker 2: we don't know much more than that right now. But
- 11:36Speaker 2: fascinating that this was caught. And we're going to have
- 11:39Speaker 2: to wait and see that unfold as things go on today.
- 11:42Speaker 2: We will keep you posted on that. Love me.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Love me.
- 11:48Speaker 3: The White House has some new ads out. Taxpayer funded
- 11:52Speaker 3: ads boosting President Trump. New spot. repurposes imagery and political
- 11:59Speaker 3: rhetoric Trump used while campaigning for president. The White House
- 12:03Speaker 3: says it's a public service announcement. Democratic members of Congress
- 12:07Speaker 3: and former ethics officials say now those are political ads
- 12:10Speaker 3: and are a potential violation of federal law. The ad
- 12:14Speaker 3: does include the disclosure paid for by the U.S. government,
- 12:17Speaker 3: which was quite honestly, when I watched the ads, I
- 12:20Speaker 3: saw the ad and I went, oh, there's a Trump ad.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And then I went paid for by the U.S.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Government.
- 12:25Speaker 3: That was a little odd. It's I thought it was
- 12:29Speaker 3: a very interesting ad.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I have not seen it as of yet.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Well, it's airing everywhere. It was on Saturday Night Live,
- 12:38Speaker 3: Fox News Sunday, several college and NFL games over the weekend.
- 12:44Speaker 3: It does jump out at you when you see it.
- 12:46Speaker 2: As a maker in my free time and doing the
- 12:49Speaker 2: arts and making stuff in my shop, I will tell
- 12:52Speaker 2: you that I'm on YouTube a lot. You know, how-to videos,
- 12:56Speaker 2: things like that. And last night, for the love of God,
- 12:59Speaker 2: I could not get through two seconds of any video
- 13:04Speaker 2: without a damn Nithya Raman ad coming up. And so
- 13:08Speaker 2: I'm screaming at the top of my lungs, no, no, oh, please, God, no.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You know, because everything she says is like, this is
- 13:18Speaker 2: what I'm going to do. I'm like, sugar, you had
- 13:22Speaker 2: the opportunity when you were the head of law side
- 13:24Speaker 2: and you were doing all these things and you didn't
- 13:26Speaker 2: do it. And quite honestly, you want to get rid
- 13:29Speaker 2: of borders. You want to get rid of the cops
- 13:32Speaker 2: and you want to let the homeless run rampant like
- 13:36Speaker 2: feral humans. All right. Let's move from that to pandas.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Shall we go?
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Pandas. Yay, pandas. Ann said it best last week. She goes,
- 13:48Speaker 2: they're silly. And I'm like, because I'm like, they're cute.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They're kind of funny the way they play. She goes,
- 13:54Speaker 2: they're silly. And I'll be damned. She's right. Pandas are silly.
- 14:00Speaker 2: They're silly. They're like drunken bears. They're like drunken infant bears.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And they're hilarious. I think they're probably all white. And
- 14:12Speaker 2: the black fur is actually bruises, if you've ever seen
- 14:15Speaker 2: them play. They just fall off crap. But, yes, two
- 14:19Speaker 2: giant pandas sent by Shiner arrived to the U.S. on Sunday, Beijing.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And the Atlantic Zoo was very excited to say this.
- 14:30Speaker 2: The summit that was heavy on symbolism, light on major breakthroughs,
- 14:35Speaker 2: gave us bears. And I'll take it. If every time
- 14:38Speaker 2: we had some sort of summit or met with someone
- 14:41Speaker 2: that we're kind of on the rocks with and they
- 14:43Speaker 2: give us cute animals, I'd at least feel like we
- 14:47Speaker 2: were leaving with a partial win.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Locking down AI. NVIDIA has introduced a new double-layered artificial
- 14:59Speaker 3: intelligence security system. It says it would have prevented... those
- 15:04Speaker 3: breaches that we heard about for hugging face by open AIs,
- 15:08Speaker 3: AI models. Remember it was told to go in and
- 15:13Speaker 3: see what it could do. And it broke out of
- 15:14Speaker 3: its guardrails basically, or fences as they might call them.
- 15:18Speaker 3: But it's rolling out to open source software security tools
- 15:21Speaker 3: that can be run on its hardware and, They're designed
- 15:24Speaker 3: to control what AI agents can access in real time
- 15:27Speaker 3: and then shut them down if they break the rules.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Sounds like a kill switch kind of thing.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but you– and this is the part that hangs
- 15:36Speaker 2: Bill up, I think, too, is you are giving them–
- 15:40Speaker 2: you're saying, do it. Go out and do whatever you
- 15:44Speaker 2: can do. They want to see where the edges of
- 15:47Speaker 2: reality are with these things and– That's the only point
- 15:51Speaker 2: in which you're going to know where to put the
- 15:53Speaker 2: stops or the guardrails on, I would imagine, to see
- 15:57Speaker 2: how these things can figure out and what logic they
- 16:00Speaker 2: use and not only logic that some of them are using.
- 16:04Speaker 2: You know, some of them go bad thinking, how do
- 16:08Speaker 2: I get this done? It's pretty fascinating. All right. Possible
- 16:12Speaker 2: suspect who apparently has deep ties to L.A. emerges in
- 16:18Speaker 2: this unsolved 1982 Tylenol murders. So decades, this has been
- 16:27Speaker 2: known as the unknown wanderer, was identified as Dr. Matthew
- 16:30Speaker 2: Francis Betkowski. The Ada County Sheriff's Office announced in this
- 16:38Speaker 2: press conference last week So he was found dead inside
- 16:41Speaker 2: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, December 4th, 1982, just months after
- 16:48Speaker 2: seven people in Chicago area were killed after taking extra
- 16:52Speaker 2: strength Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide. You remember that? That
- 16:56Speaker 2: changed laws. Like now when you have the plastic seal
- 17:01Speaker 2: and everything on Tylenol and all these bottles, that came
- 17:05Speaker 2: out of this. I remember when that craze in the
- 17:10Speaker 2: early 80s there, he had no identification on him, large
- 17:15Speaker 2: amount of cash, and a typed note signed WM period,
- 17:22Speaker 2: L period, Tomy, according to the sheriff's office. So this
- 17:29Speaker 2: is one of those unsolved mysteries that are now solved.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Signing protections. Governor Newsom has signed a package of bills
- 17:37Speaker 3: over the weekend to increase protections for the LGBTQ community.
- 17:43Speaker 3: One would provide housing, employment and other health services to
- 17:47Speaker 3: anyone who is basically kicked out of the military because
- 17:51Speaker 3: of Trump's efforts to ban transgender people from serving. Other
- 17:55Speaker 3: bills signed create stronger privacy protections, limiting the sharing of
- 17:58Speaker 3: sexual orientation and gender identity. also requiring health care providers
- 18:03Speaker 3: to notify the California attorney general when they get a
- 18:06Speaker 3: subpoena regarding health care activities that the state protects. Another
- 18:09Speaker 3: new law will enhance access to drugs to help prevent HIV.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Governor Newsom said that legislation was needed because of recent
- 18:17Speaker 3: moves by the administration to threaten support for the LGBTQ community.
- 18:22Speaker 2: All right. So I've come on before on the air
- 18:25Speaker 2: when we've had stories like this and been frustrated. If
- 18:28Speaker 2: you have people that want to serve you, their country,
- 18:32Speaker 2: I think that there's nobility in that inherently. Going in
- 18:36Speaker 2: with it, right attitude, and we should salute these people
- 18:39Speaker 2: and thank them for their service. Saying that once, I
- 18:44Speaker 2: had somebody in the military, a couple of people actually responded, saying,
- 18:51Speaker 2: I get it and I believe similarly, I'm in the military,
- 18:54Speaker 2: but here's the deal. When it comes to trans, a
- 18:57Speaker 2: lot of them are on medication. part of the process
- 19:02Speaker 2: of transitioning hormones and different things like this that put
- 19:06Speaker 2: them on a list where they can't do certain things
- 19:09Speaker 2: that others can. So they're seen as a deficit. They're
- 19:14Speaker 2: seen as an issue because they come in, they get
- 19:18Speaker 2: all the services and they get all these different things,
- 19:20Speaker 2: yet they can't serve in the same way as others.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I don't know that to be true, but to be fair,
- 19:25Speaker 2: I'm putting that out there because I think there's power
- 19:29Speaker 2: in numbers. And so the fact that you guys can
- 19:32Speaker 2: hit us up on talkbacks or it gives a different
- 19:35Speaker 2: perspective that we may not be able to see from
- 19:38Speaker 2: where we are. But otherwise, and I'm saying with if
- 19:41Speaker 2: you come to this country illegally and you serve, I
- 19:50Speaker 2: think you're in. I just think when you come and
- 19:52Speaker 2: you do that and you serve, and a lot of
- 19:56Speaker 2: people did early on and with no fanfare just to serve.
- 20:01Speaker 2: All right. Walmart says it's not using any personal information
- 20:05Speaker 2: to set prices. And this is... This is the fear
- 20:08Speaker 2: because these digital shelf labels that are popular, I mean,
- 20:11Speaker 2: they have them in grocery stores more and more. The
- 20:14Speaker 2: assumption is that they have RFID or they have something
- 20:18Speaker 2: that knows that you're there and that the prices are
- 20:23Speaker 2: changing based on your habits and patterns and things like that.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And I think that's going to happen. Was that Minority
- 20:32Speaker 2: Report or what movie was that where that you would
- 20:35Speaker 2: walk by and the billboard would change? Yeah, I think so.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That it would it basically understood, you know, they had billboards,
- 20:44Speaker 2: digital billboards that were similar. They had and then at
- 20:48Speaker 2: one point they had cameras on billboards. I used to
- 20:51Speaker 2: do the billboards for KFI. We knew all this technology
- 20:55Speaker 2: as it was coming and they had cameras on the
- 20:58Speaker 2: billboards that could tell if you looked up at them.
- 21:02Speaker 2: So that they could see that you had eye contact
- 21:04Speaker 2: to count the true impressions rather than the assumed impressions
- 21:09Speaker 2: based on traffic. So, you know, that's. It's coming. Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 3: It's like walking into, is it when Minority Report also
- 21:18Speaker 3: when he walks into like a Levi's store and they go, oh, hi,
- 21:20Speaker 3: here's your perfect size pants.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Maybe so.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I'm not sure if that was Minority Report or another movie,
- 21:26Speaker 3: but they did that though.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Now, I prefer that. I like it to know what
- 21:31Speaker 2: I want so it tailors the ads for me because,
- 21:36Speaker 2: you know, then I go, okay, that's something that I
- 21:37Speaker 2: want to look at at least. But I have so
- 21:41Speaker 2: many weird interests that it's kind of hard to know,
- 21:44Speaker 2: you know, so it's like, well, don't leave that out
- 21:47Speaker 2: because I may like that, you know, and I use
- 21:49Speaker 2: tools for different things. So I may get a tool.
- 21:52Speaker 2: that someone uses for making dollhouses or something. Now, I
- 21:55Speaker 2: don't make dollhouses. Sure you don't. Well, as far as
- 21:58Speaker 2: you know. But then it does give me a tool
- 22:02Speaker 2: that I could use for something else. So it doesn't
- 22:05Speaker 2: always know. But I'll take the pantyhose ads. All righty.
- 22:11Speaker 3: USC has suspended linebacker Desmond Stevens II for one game
- 22:17Speaker 3: and issued apologies after he delivered a late hit And
- 22:22Speaker 3: then celebrated on field. The quarterback is Dante Moore for Oregon.
- 22:27Speaker 3: He slid late on a run play, and apparently Stevens
- 22:30Speaker 3: didn't change course. He lowered his shoulder and ran right
- 22:34Speaker 3: into Moore's head. Then Stevens was seen celebrating the play.
- 22:39Speaker 2: And smiling.
- 22:39Speaker 3: And smiling. So he was ejected from the game, and
- 22:43Speaker 3: now he's been suspended for a game. The university's issued
- 22:46Speaker 3: an apology. He issued an apology, too. He said, I
- 22:49Speaker 3: take full responsibility for my actions. That's not the person
- 22:52Speaker 3: or teammate I want to be. And I will learn
- 22:54Speaker 3: from this.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Well, it came naturally. I mean, it did. It came
- 22:59Speaker 2: naturally to laugh. And it was absolute low class douchebaggery.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Did he know he was hurt? I didn't see the game.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Wow. From the things that I've seen. Yes, because it
- 23:13Speaker 2: was afterwards, too. It wasn't just like after the hit.
- 23:16Speaker 2: You could give him that. I mean, even though he
- 23:19Speaker 2: went low. You know, I'll put it this way. What
- 23:24Speaker 2: was the other gentleman's name? The Dante Morris. Yeah, he's
- 23:28Speaker 2: a QB. Right. So if he was standing. Then he
- 23:33Speaker 2: would have taken him out at the knees. So both
- 23:36Speaker 2: would have been horrible. So even if you slide late,
- 23:41Speaker 2: he was going low enough to take him out at
- 23:43Speaker 2: the knees. It just, it was ugly. And even if
- 23:48Speaker 2: you feel good inside, I know you get, you know,
- 23:51Speaker 2: I think the same thing about cops after a chase.
- 23:54Speaker 2: They're so like, you know, their heart's probably pounding. If
- 24:00Speaker 2: the guy gets a couple of shots at the face after,
- 24:04Speaker 2: you know, a chase, everybody's a little hyped up. I
- 24:07Speaker 2: get that right afterwards. But then to be sitting down
- 24:10Speaker 2: and watch somebody being taken off, it's, I don't know.
- 24:15Speaker 2: A little trashy to me. All right. Lindsay Clancy, after
- 24:20Speaker 2: her triple murder case ended in that mistrial that we
- 24:24Speaker 2: all know about now, Clancy will appear in court tomorrow
- 24:29Speaker 2: for a status conference that should kind of let us
- 24:33Speaker 2: know how the controversial case is going to proceed at
- 24:36Speaker 2: this point following that month of uncertainty. So we don't
- 24:42Speaker 2: really know. But at the hearing, we do know that
- 24:46Speaker 2: the prosecutors and the defense are expected to address pending
- 24:50Speaker 2: motions from Clancy's attorney, stave off another trial. And we'll
- 24:55Speaker 2: we'll see how it goes. We know that there was
- 24:58Speaker 2: one male. A an African-American man, which who was that?
- 25:04Speaker 2: Who was that woman on? I can't remember her name
- 25:08Speaker 2: on The Today Show or something. Coda, is that Coda Hopke?
- 25:14Speaker 2: no coda yeah i don't know is that what her
- 25:17Speaker 2: name is okay where she said she had to take
- 25:20Speaker 2: a minute once she found out he was african-american.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Why it was at her gail king i can't oh.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Gail king i think is who it was and she's
- 25:29Speaker 2: like i gotta take a minute why that's not the
- 25:33Speaker 2: stereotype in your head racist even if you are black
- 25:39Speaker 2: all right now let's hit hit one more.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Two more FBI guys are out. Two veteran FBI agents
- 25:46Speaker 3: who were overseeing counterterrorism operations in D.C. have been removed
- 25:51Speaker 3: from their jobs. They've been reassigned over the handling of
- 25:55Speaker 3: an investigation involving Katie Miller, who's Katie Miller. She's a
- 25:58Speaker 3: conservative podcaster and she's married to White House senior adviser
- 26:02Speaker 3: Stephen Miller. Michael Bergwald, the special agent in charge of
- 26:08Speaker 3: counterterrorism matters at the FBI's Washington field office, and his deputy,
- 26:11Speaker 3: Cortland Ray, were ousted by bureau leadership after investigations determined
- 26:18Speaker 3: that allegedly harassing phone calls that Katie Miller received from
- 26:23Speaker 3: unknown individuals did not warrant further investigations.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You've been listening to The Bill Handel Show. Catch my
