Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Is it last weekend of the regular season. I love
- 0:07Speaker 1: the smile. Todd Father. Hey dude, dude, we got a
- 0:11Speaker 1: lot to do and we haven't seen you until now,
- 0:14Speaker 1: so we're going to get your take on all these wild,
- 0:15Speaker 1: wild races in some of your former ball clubs are
- 0:19Speaker 1: very much in the thick of it, so we'll get
- 0:21Speaker 1: to that. Sometimes we do this topic in slappans. I'm
- 0:24Speaker 1: just going to do it now for a quick minute
- 0:25Speaker 1: because I just caught it and I don't know if
- 0:28Speaker 1: we'll have time later to be honest. Sunday, Charlie Morton
- 0:32Speaker 1: calling it a career. He's going to start the game.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to pitch much because Chris
- 0:36Speaker 1: Sales actually the scheduled starter now the piggyback guy, and
- 0:39Speaker 1: I think he's going to want to eat. But congratulations
- 0:42Speaker 1: to him. Braves pick him up and he gets to
- 0:44Speaker 1: finish with the Braves against the Pirates. He spent seven
- 0:48Speaker 1: years with the Pirates, So cool old moment. You like that. Krats.
- 0:51Speaker 1: A lot of guys don't get to say goodbye the
- 0:53Speaker 1: way they want. I think this would be one of
- 0:55Speaker 1: those situations where he.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Does absolutely to get ten years in the big leagues.
- 1:01Speaker 2: It's rare to make the Hall of Fame. It's just
- 1:04Speaker 2: about as rare to go out on your own terms,
- 1:06Speaker 2: and seems like he's going out on his own terms.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Obviously he wish is this year would have gone better,
- 1:10Speaker 2: but it's so cool that's lining up. He's gonna face
- 1:13Speaker 2: the Pirates, the team who gave him a shot. He
- 1:15Speaker 2: didn't make his big league debut. He made that with
- 1:17Speaker 2: the Braves, and he's playing for the Braves like somehow
- 1:21Speaker 2: we got to smatter in some astros here somehow, like
- 1:25Speaker 2: because he's known for both. But man, what a career.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Charlie Morton.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Man, when you think of him, you think of when
- 1:32Speaker 4: he came into the league throwing ninety to ninety three,
- 1:35Speaker 4: maybe hitting ninety four with that nasty, nasty breaking pitch,
- 1:40Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, three four years later
- 1:43Speaker 4: he caught steam and was throwing ninety seven and ninety nine, Like,
- 1:47Speaker 4: how do you do that?
- 1:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:49Speaker 4: I wish I could, you know, go from hitting two
- 1:51Speaker 4: forty which was my average, to three ten, but that's
- 1:54Speaker 4: just not going to happen. So for him, congratulations, God
- 2:00Speaker 4: lusher Man Austin, he got a world series ring right,
- 2:02Speaker 4: if I'm not mistaken, he did, right, Scott, Yeah, he did, yep,
- 2:05Speaker 4: and he exceeded all expectations because that ninety two was
- 2:10Speaker 4: very hittable.
- 2:11Speaker 3: He had some stink to a little sink action the.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Curveball, but with that curveball in ninety eight, whole different ballgame.
- 2:17Speaker 4: So he lasted a long time and well deserved going
- 2:21Speaker 4: away present here on sunder.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, World Series All Star. And he guess what year?
- 2:28Speaker 1: What year? Real quick? Were you guys drafted?
- 2:30Speaker 5: What year?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Seven oh two?
- 2:34Speaker 1: That's the same as Charlie. Charlie was drafted in two
- 2:37Speaker 1: thousand and two.
- 2:38Speaker 2: He was a high school kid. He was a high
- 2:40Speaker 2: school kid. He got traded over in the Jeff no
- 2:44Speaker 2: not the Jeff Carsons deal, Ryan Church deal, I'm not sure,
- 2:48Speaker 2: to the Pirates, and I got to catch his first
- 2:50Speaker 2: triple A start. He made like one or two more
- 2:53Speaker 2: and the to the show.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, not until two thousand and eight, has to the show.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And then twenty eighteen was really the breakout for him,
- 3:04Speaker 1: his age thirty four season, and then he had a
- 3:07Speaker 1: nice little whatever seven year run where he's been pretty
- 3:11Speaker 1: effective up until this year where he's calling it so anyway,
- 3:15Speaker 1: cheers to Charlie. That's happening on Sunday, But there are
- 3:18Speaker 1: very meaningful games going down over the next few days.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Let's get to it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Charge out.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We're charging baby, Let's set it up. Diamondbacks have a shot,
- 3:30Speaker 1: Reds have a shot. Mets have a shot. What's going
- 3:34Speaker 1: on with your Reds?
- 3:34Speaker 3: Though? This week?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Top five? They have good pitching, but I've spent a
- 3:38Speaker 1: lot of time watching them. Are they going to score
- 3:40Speaker 1: some runs this weekend?
- 3:42Speaker 3: They're better? They better snuck by that last game too.
- 3:47Speaker 3: They had a chance.
- 3:48Speaker 4: They had so many opportunities to kind of get two
- 3:52Speaker 4: out of three at least there extra innings.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Man, they were sitting in the driver shoot. I was
- 3:57Speaker 3: out in Cincinnati.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Jeff Ruby Foundation charity, and it was it was electric.
- 4:04Speaker 4: The people in there, Like I was trying to talk football,
- 4:07Speaker 4: but they know the Bengals are done, so they were
- 4:09Speaker 4: basically talking baseball. And this would be so good for this,
- 4:12Speaker 4: for the for the city. I said, yeah, without a doubt,
- 4:15Speaker 4: like this is awesome. I was actually excited too, man.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I almost stayed another day just to watch the game.
- 4:20Speaker 4: But it was good to see a packed house. It
- 4:22Speaker 4: was good to see the energy. They still got a
- 4:24Speaker 4: good chance here to matter with the Mets, and now
- 4:27Speaker 4: Mets have to lose and they have to win.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Packed house, question Mark, they sold some tickets, question Mark.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I think I thought since he should have should have
- 4:40Speaker 2: shown out a little bit better. I get it during
- 4:42Speaker 2: the week schools back in I needed to see more
- 4:45Speaker 2: since he fans. But the Reds Bats really didn't say, hey,
- 4:50Speaker 2: come out and watch us. They were like, don't tell us,
- 4:54Speaker 2: don't tell us these games. Besides Tyler Stevenson, they wouldn't
- 4:57Speaker 2: have been in the second game. And without that catch
- 5:00Speaker 2: from noelbe Marte, who knows what happens? Like they gotta hit,
- 5:06Speaker 2: they gotta hit. I feel like they're gonna break out
- 5:08Speaker 2: in this series. Maybe.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Well again, he's knocking the red legs there a little bit, man.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and I did too. Earlier in the week, Todd
- 5:18Speaker 1: Father the Skeens Green game had great attendance. I don't
- 5:22Speaker 1: care what the numbers are. You can look at the
- 5:23Speaker 1: ballpark feed and see who's there and whatever. Yesterday apparently
- 5:27Speaker 1: it was twenty four thousand. It was much bigger for
- 5:29Speaker 1: Skans in Green. So yeah, it hasn't been a massive turnout.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I'm like, guys, this is your postseason right now?
- 5:33Speaker 3: This is it?
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's it's kind of par for the course.
- 5:38Speaker 4: But twenty four thousand is a lot more than they've
- 5:41Speaker 4: been having the whole season. So they feel it, they
- 5:45Speaker 4: understand it. But is it a little bit too late?
- 5:49Speaker 4: I don't know the Mets. Who the Mets playing again,
- 5:51Speaker 4: I just draw a blank.
- 5:53Speaker 2: The Marlins.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Mets are playing the Marlins. The Reds are in Milwaukee,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and the Diamondbacks are in San Diego.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, let me see here, Milwaukee, the Marlins.
- 6:06Speaker 2: The Marlins have their three best pitchers going. The Brewers,
- 6:11Speaker 2: guys are.
- 6:12Speaker 3: On the game.
- 6:16Speaker 2: They need to win one of them.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, just one.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's a conjuring Cabrera. So they're gonna make it. They're
- 6:23Speaker 2: gonna make it tough on them. I mean, they're not
- 6:26Speaker 2: gonna They're not gonna roll over. The Marlins sures heck
- 6:29Speaker 2: aren't gonna roll over. Not saying the Brewers are. But
- 6:32Speaker 2: I know, like today, Quinn Priesters going. I saw places
- 6:36Speaker 2: he might have a fifty pitch count. They let Freddy
- 6:39Speaker 2: p go to seventy five and he was rolling pulled
- 6:43Speaker 2: him out. So I'm not saying They're not gonna try
- 6:45Speaker 2: to win the game. I'm saying, you're not getting the
- 6:48Speaker 2: cavalcade of brewers pitchers. You're gonna get the guy in
- 6:52Speaker 2: the situation that it matters for that situation. But from there,
- 6:56Speaker 2: if the Reds can outlast this pitching staff, they have
- 6:59Speaker 2: a chances. We've taken two out of three.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Crats.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Let's talk about Omaha Steaks. And it's not just steaks.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It's chicken winnings, it's smash burgers, big Deli style franks.
- 7:11Speaker 1: There are a number of categories that you can hit
- 7:14Speaker 1: all in one place. They've been doing it for a
- 7:16Speaker 1: long time. They're the best of the biz. And if
- 7:18Speaker 1: you got a good full a life's good man.
- 7:21Speaker 2: But you gotta finish every meal with some delectable desserts too.
- 7:25Speaker 2: They have those too to go along with these delicious steaks.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Mm hmm, Apple Cairomel tarts on the list, among many
- 7:32Speaker 1: other menu items to check out. Be the hero that
- 7:36Speaker 1: orders Omaha Steaks and is the most popular person in
- 7:39Speaker 1: your household, So get fired up for fall grilling with
- 7:43Speaker 1: Omaha Steaks. Visit Omaha Steaks dot com for fifty percent
- 7:46Speaker 1: off site wide during their red Hot sale event and
- 7:48Speaker 1: for an extra thirty five dollars off. Yeah, thirty five
- 7:51Speaker 1: bucks off. On top of that, use promo code foul
- 7:54Speaker 1: at checkout. That's fifty percent off at Omaha Steaks dot
- 7:57Speaker 1: com and an extra thirty five dollars off with code
- 8:00Speaker 1: foul at checkout Sea side for details. By the way,
- 8:04Speaker 1: quick side note, because I did the research while we
- 8:06Speaker 1: were talking, Great American Ballpark hold forty three and a
- 8:09Speaker 1: half thousand their reported number yesterday, And I get it.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I mean it was a day game and then rain
- 8:15Speaker 1: delay ish a little bit, but twenty four thousand reported number,
- 8:19Speaker 1: so it was less than that, especially when you had
- 8:21Speaker 1: the rain situation. So I mean it's a half empty ballpark. Sorry,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I get it. Tickets are expensive all that. We've gone
- 8:28Speaker 1: through all of that, and there's things that teams should
- 8:30Speaker 1: be doing to help. Although I think there were single
- 8:33Speaker 1: digit dollar tickets that were available anyway for that game.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I believe there were five, six, seven, eight nine dollars
- 8:39Speaker 1: tickets when I looked it up that the team was
- 8:41Speaker 1: making available, not even for the secondary market. So you
- 8:44Speaker 1: just look at that compared to what Cleveland was like
- 8:46Speaker 1: for the last few games against Detroit. It's a big difference.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It was a different feel besides the Skiings screen game
- 8:52Speaker 1: that was lit. So now they're going to have to
- 8:55Speaker 1: go beat the best record in baseball. Even if they're
- 8:58Speaker 1: chilling a little bit, crats, they don't have any bad arms, right.
- 9:02Speaker 1: The Brewers are still just naturally by playing going to
- 9:06Speaker 1: be a pest to play against. You know, you're not
- 9:08Speaker 1: getting like a garbage time pitcher to go up against.
- 9:11Speaker 3: They don't have that, no, for sure.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But you're also not getting guys who are like, all right,
- 9:16Speaker 2: like if he gets in a jam here, we're gonna
- 9:19Speaker 2: definitely go to this guy. They're not gonna be going
- 9:22Speaker 2: They're not gonna be dry humping dudes in the bullpen.
- 9:26Speaker 2: You mean guys that are getting some extra just a
- 9:29Speaker 2: little extra leash to get Hey, we want this guy,
- 9:32Speaker 2: we want your rebate to get to twenty pitches. If
- 9:35Speaker 2: he's under it, we might give him another hitter. If
- 9:37Speaker 2: he's over it, we're not letting him out there. That
- 9:39Speaker 2: kind of thing that is not giving up by the Brewers.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That is just it's a lane for the Reds, which
- 9:45Speaker 2: I don't think are even in the same class as
- 9:47Speaker 2: the Brewers to be able to beat to be able
- 9:49Speaker 2: to beat these guys.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Tom Father, let me ask you. Oh, go ahead, and
- 9:53Speaker 1: I got one for you.
- 9:54Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, go ahead. I'll lean on what you're
- 9:56Speaker 3: saying too.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I want the hitter's perspective here from the other side. Okay,
- 10:00Speaker 1: you have three teams that have a chance at a
- 10:02Speaker 1: playoff spot. The Mets are in control of their destiny.
- 10:04Speaker 1: If the Mets went out this weekend, it's a done deal.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Since the Mets were able to take care of business
- 10:10Speaker 1: against the Cubs. But theoretically you have three teams involved. Right,
- 10:13Speaker 1: Two of them are playing teams that are already in
- 10:15Speaker 1: the postseason and essentially know what's going on. They're not
- 10:18Speaker 1: playing for much. And then one is going up against
- 10:20Speaker 1: the Marlins team that can just have fun and play spoiler.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Take me inside the brain of what a Padres or
- 10:26Speaker 1: Brewer's position player is feeling and what a Marlins position
- 10:30Speaker 1: player is feeling. Is this like fun playing with house money?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Let's just go rip the baseball because we're in the playoffs,
- 10:36Speaker 1: or for the Marlins case, we're not, and let's just
- 10:39Speaker 1: screw up their season.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Well, first and foremost, as a hitter, at least what
- 10:43Speaker 4: I thought I wanted to have round numbers. I learned
- 10:45Speaker 4: that from Dusty Baker. You know, if you have eighty
- 10:47Speaker 4: nine RBIs, I want to get to ninety. Just an example,
- 10:51Speaker 4: Like you want you're bat in two sixty nine, you
- 10:53Speaker 4: want to get to two seventy whatever it is, Like,
- 10:55Speaker 4: that's what happened to me with the Mets.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I was.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Get one number, I was, but I rounded it up
- 11:02Speaker 4: to a higher number and then they took me out
- 11:03Speaker 4: of the game. So I can see that happening in
- 11:06Speaker 4: Milwaukee for sure. And it's a happy, go lucky atmosphere.
- 11:10Speaker 4: You know you're gonna have home field advantage. You know,
- 11:12Speaker 4: it's got to be seventy five eighty percent, knowing because
- 11:14Speaker 4: if one team loses, they're automatically getting home field advantage,
- 11:18Speaker 4: so they don't even have to win a game anymore,
- 11:22Speaker 4: honestly to get the home field advantage, you know, throughout.
- 11:28Speaker 4: But at the same time, the Marlins, they're like, yo,
- 11:31Speaker 4: let's just go have some fun and ruin and ruin
- 11:33Speaker 4: this team here. Let's try and get this team out
- 11:35Speaker 4: of the playoffs. Something to play for. You got a
- 11:38Speaker 4: little chip on your shoulder, Yeah, I know, it's football
- 11:40Speaker 4: season now for that team. But at the same token,
- 11:43Speaker 4: whatever the manager wants me to throw, I'm gonna give
- 11:45Speaker 4: you fifty of the best pitches I got. I'm gonna
- 11:48Speaker 4: show the manager for next year what I got that.
- 11:50Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lay down just because we're losing and
- 11:53Speaker 4: we don't have a chance to get to the playoffs.
- 11:55Speaker 4: So I would be more scared if I'm playing the
- 11:57Speaker 4: Marlins than I am the Brewers. But just because of
- 11:59Speaker 4: the fact the Brewers, it's like spring training right now.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Let me just get my two of bats and you know,
- 12:03Speaker 4: put the young gun in so I don't.
- 12:05Speaker 3: You know, get hurt or have any problems moving forward.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I like it. Hey, let's show the bracket. Let's take
- 12:12Speaker 1: a look at the postseason picture in the National League
- 12:15Speaker 1: where it stands at the moment. If the Mets win out,
- 12:19Speaker 1: or say, let's they go two and one and so
- 12:22Speaker 1: do the other teams right like they're in control, they
- 12:24Speaker 1: would end up with that last spot that nobody wants
- 12:27Speaker 1: in the National League and they would take on the Dodgers.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Padres are matching up with the Cubs. Winner of that
- 12:32Speaker 1: one would go on to face the Brewers. Phillies are
- 12:35Speaker 1: matching up with the winner of the Mets and the Dodgers. Man,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I mean, Crats. It's not necessarily a fun ride for
- 12:43Speaker 1: the Phillies. By the way, if it ends up being
- 12:45Speaker 1: Mets Dodgers, they have to play either the Mets or
- 12:46Speaker 1: the Dodgers. I think if I'm the Phillies, I would
- 12:49Speaker 1: definitely rather play the Cubs. Padres, I think you could
- 12:53Speaker 1: make a case either way there, and I would rather
- 12:56Speaker 1: play the Brewers. I mean, maybe that's going out on
- 12:58Speaker 1: a limb because they were the best regular season team,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but I gotta see them be different in the playoffs,
- 13:02Speaker 1: which hasn't been the case for the last half decade.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and the Brewers handled them during the season. To me,
- 13:08Speaker 2: I think the Phillies aren't afraid if it's the Mets,
- 13:11Speaker 2: as long as they're not in City Field. You have
- 13:14Speaker 2: to win. You gotta win all three games, and it's
- 13:16Speaker 2: the it's a five game series, so you have to win.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It puts so much pressure on it. But what do
- 13:23Speaker 2: we always say, the team that gets hot at the
- 13:24Speaker 2: beginning of the playoffs makes that run. You can't just
- 13:27Speaker 2: like kind of meander around at the beginning and then
- 13:32Speaker 2: hopefully get it going. You might as well play the
- 13:34Speaker 2: best team that you think's out there right out of
- 13:37Speaker 2: the gate, because you either got it or you don't.
- 13:40Speaker 2: There's no runway, you don't have, you have any runway
- 13:42Speaker 2: runway here. You got to come out guns and blazing
- 13:46Speaker 2: right away.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a shorter.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Yes it is.
- 13:50Speaker 4: And I think Krata you said it well, which was
- 13:53Speaker 4: on the contrary last year. The team's going to come
- 13:56Speaker 4: in hot, and that's why this layoff to me. I
- 13:59Speaker 4: still think it's troublesome for a Brewer team and a
- 14:02Speaker 4: Philly team. Not saying they can't do it, but they're
- 14:05Speaker 4: taking Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, four to five days off
- 14:10Speaker 4: of not playing meaningful baseball. So I, in my opinion,
- 14:15Speaker 4: I still think that matters. I wish there was a
- 14:16Speaker 4: different format for that. I wasn't a guy that could
- 14:19Speaker 4: take four or five days off and be ready to rock.
- 14:22Speaker 3: It just wasn't in my nature. So yeah, this is
- 14:26Speaker 3: it's gonna be.
- 14:26Speaker 4: It's gonna be one of those things where you think
- 14:28Speaker 4: one of those teams is gonna make a nice run,
- 14:30Speaker 4: like a team in the past has done well.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I will point out last year, three out of four
- 14:38Speaker 1: by teams advanced right yep, you have prior years. In
- 14:44Speaker 1: prior years, it didn't happen. So either way, whatever happens,
- 14:48Speaker 1: there'll be excuses coming from teams. We will look forward
- 14:52Speaker 1: to those excuses.
- 14:54Speaker 2: What need it they need Trey Turner to get back.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm not saying mund three Homers isn't isn't the answer.
- 15:01Speaker 2: They're better team with Trey Turner in the lineup, and
- 15:05Speaker 2: he needs those extra days, so that could that could
- 15:08Speaker 2: save him. No players still, no players come out that's
- 15:12Speaker 2: currently playing and saying, dang it, I wish we didn't
- 15:15Speaker 2: have these next four days off to get healthy. Now,
- 15:18Speaker 2: when they say that before the series, then I'll listen
- 15:21Speaker 2: to them.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Get after it like the Baltimore Orioles did with their
- 15:25Speaker 1: Minions dress up. I'm not a Minions guy. I like them.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I've never seen any of the movies. Like it's you know,
- 15:31Speaker 1: I don't have kids, and it's what should I see them?
- 15:36Speaker 2: You have to you need, you need to see some
- 15:38Speaker 2: Minions in your life, Scott, have.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You seen it? Todd Father?
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't seen the movie.
- 15:45Speaker 1: No, let's go two to one.
- 15:48Speaker 3: We got you that I'm not into. But I'm like,
- 15:51Speaker 3: what that that was cool?
- 15:53Speaker 2: What did you dress up as Todd? What was your
- 15:55Speaker 2: dress up?
- 15:57Speaker 4: I was in a diaper and had a binky in
- 15:59Speaker 4: my mouth and a bib and that's yesterday.
- 16:03Speaker 3: That was it.
- 16:04Speaker 4: And we walked six blocks in New York City to
- 16:06Speaker 4: get to our They dropped us off six blocks away.
- 16:08Speaker 3: That was who That was something special.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Six blocks of glory, glory of.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Of eight miles in a diaper and sucking on a
- 16:22Speaker 4: BANKI and a bib on that was that was pretty.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Nobody even nobody even looked, not even looked twice in
- 16:27Speaker 2: New York.
- 16:29Speaker 3: It was the perfect place, so perfect place.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That is true in fairness. In New York there's so
- 16:35Speaker 1: much going on at all times, and people dressed up
- 16:38Speaker 1: that I mean, walk through Times Square, you'd be like, oh,
- 16:41Speaker 1: oh that. I'm surprised they didn't try to throw you
- 16:44Speaker 1: a few bucks, like we take pictures with you. Here's
- 16:47Speaker 1: a dollar that they took the Times Square crats. At
- 16:52Speaker 1: some point we're gonna laugh about how healthcare was so

- 17:52Speaker 1: we're back. Jose Burrios has been a model of health
- 17:55Speaker 1: for real. This is the first time he's placed on
- 17:58Speaker 1: the injured list in eleven years, and they're checking out
- 18:00Speaker 1: his elbow and that's concerning especially Kratzer Boy John Schneider
- 18:04Speaker 1: said that this isn't new. It's been an issue going
- 18:07Speaker 1: for a bit here, and I think it just reached
- 18:09Speaker 1: the boiling point.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You saw a little bit of a decline towards the
- 18:13Speaker 2: end of the season too, And to go eleven years
- 18:18Speaker 2: and pitch in this day and age and to have
- 18:20Speaker 2: the success that he's had and not going to il
- 18:24Speaker 2: you hope this is not what we think it is.
- 18:27Speaker 2: But this is a guy clearly was pitching through something
- 18:30Speaker 2: and you just got to get it right.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and you give them credit because they were fighting
- 18:39Speaker 4: to get in the playoffs here, and now that they're in,
- 18:40Speaker 4: it's like, all right, maybe I can keep going through
- 18:42Speaker 4: That's probably what the mindset was, you know, speculation, of course,
- 18:46Speaker 4: but maybe I could fight through this, get through it
- 18:48Speaker 4: and hopefully help this team in the playoffs and maybe
- 18:51Speaker 4: we could look at it later. But yeah, unfortunate, very unfortunate.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I'd like the guy. I think he's been great. You know,
- 18:57Speaker 4: if I'm playing against him, he's a really good ball
- 18:59Speaker 4: play and this this is gonna hurt a little bit.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And and if he was going through this, this is
- 19:05Speaker 2: a guy that he agreed to pitch out of the
- 19:07Speaker 2: pen on a random day. I think two or three
- 19:11Speaker 2: days ago, it was looking like he wasn't going to
- 19:13Speaker 2: be in the rotation for the playoffs, and he agreed
- 19:17Speaker 2: to pitch out the pen. So to do that and
- 19:19Speaker 2: you're hurting that to me, that's another level. But you know,
- 19:23Speaker 2: we'd had to ask his teammates, you know how they
- 19:25Speaker 2: feel about it, because I think that's a that's a
- 19:28Speaker 2: boss move by.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Him, no doubt.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Gamer.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Yep, better than box scorers.
- 19:46Speaker 1: We're gonna start with an Ale East report, Todd Father
- 19:48Speaker 1: taking over. What do you have for us on the
- 19:50Speaker 1: American League East clubs, the Blue Jays, the Yankees, and
- 19:54Speaker 1: the Red Sox heading into the final three days of
- 19:56Speaker 1: the regular season.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yeah, this is uh the this is awesome. This is
- 20:01Speaker 3: just all I mean.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Listen, if you're if you're a fan of either team,
- 20:04Speaker 4: that goes my mic in the back of my head.
- 20:06Speaker 4: If you're a fan of either team, excuse me, this
- 20:11Speaker 4: is incredible. If you're a fan of baseball, this is incredible.
- 20:14Speaker 4: They are both tied. I know the Blue Jays have
- 20:16Speaker 4: the tiebreaker, yep. But at the end of the day,
- 20:20Speaker 4: you just feel this Yankee team is getting hot at
- 20:23Speaker 4: the right time. It's unfortunate to me to think that
- 20:26Speaker 4: one of these teams, they're gonna have the second best
- 20:30Speaker 4: record in the American League, but they're gonna have to play.
- 20:32Speaker 3: And they're not going to get a bye. You know.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I just think that's the tough part about it. But again,
- 20:38Speaker 4: the Blue Jays have it all squared away. They're playing
- 20:41Speaker 4: against the Rays. It's gonna come down and who loses
- 20:45Speaker 4: one of these games out of the three. I don't
- 20:47Speaker 4: see either of them losing. But I do see some
- 20:51Speaker 4: close games and some you know, tightness coming of both sides,
- 20:54Speaker 4: like oh boy, tie game.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Going in the eighth or ninth.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Like this is where you just sit back, you know,
- 21:00Speaker 4: have whatever you want, a root beer or glass avino,
- 21:04Speaker 4: whatever it is, and just enjoy this game of baseball,
- 21:08Speaker 4: because not only playoffs are great, but this last three games,
- 21:11Speaker 4: this last week, I really enjoy this even a lot
- 21:14Speaker 4: more because there's a lot more teams that are fighting
- 21:17Speaker 4: to get to where they need to be.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to see I would love to
- 21:23Speaker 2: see these games go down to the last day. But
- 21:28Speaker 2: you talk about teams getting hot at the end of
- 21:30Speaker 2: the season, like ooh, that's what really propels them in
- 21:33Speaker 2: I know, in twenty eighteen. Every game down the stretch
- 21:36Speaker 2: mattered because we were trying to win the division. And
- 21:38Speaker 2: that's exactly what these guys are doing. We got a
- 21:42Speaker 2: day off, we beat the Cubs, they had to go
- 21:45Speaker 2: play the wild card. Now these teams have to go
- 21:48Speaker 2: play the Wildcard series. Winning the division is so key
- 21:52Speaker 2: and playing meaningful games, you're already getting the feeling, like
- 21:56Speaker 2: Todd said, that feeling like oh no, we're down by
- 21:59Speaker 2: a run. Oh no, we're up by a run. Oh oh,
- 22:02Speaker 2: we looked at the scoreboard, they're down by run. Now
- 22:05Speaker 2: you get that confidence. It just it's like a slow
- 22:09Speaker 2: it's a slow build into the crescendo that is the playoffs.
- 22:13Speaker 2: And I think I think it'll set the teams in
- 22:15Speaker 2: the East apart from other teams in the league.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Also just want to clarify, the Mariners have a chance
- 22:23Speaker 1: still to finish with the top or second best record.
- 22:30Speaker 1: So there is that chance. You're saying, yeah, there might
- 22:33Speaker 1: be the two top in the in the East. Right,
- 22:35Speaker 1: they're both ninety one and sixty eight, the Blue Jays
- 22:37Speaker 1: and the Yanks. Heading into the last weekend, Mariners are
- 22:40Speaker 1: ninety and sixty nine. They match up with the Dodgers.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Dodgers not really playing for anything, so they're going to
- 22:46Speaker 1: get their ducks in a row. Mariners are right, I mean,
- 22:49Speaker 1: Mariners are playing for some pretty serious home field situations.
- 22:54Speaker 1: This is a team that wants to make the World Series.
- 22:55Speaker 1: You want to you want to shove these last three games, right,
- 22:58Speaker 1: And we know cal Riley's trying to hit ninety home
- 23:00Speaker 1: in the last few days of the year. Sons might Yeah,
- 23:05Speaker 1: well we know that. But I'm saying the Mariners still
- 23:07Speaker 1: have a chance to have the top record in the
- 23:09Speaker 1: American League. And so then everything goes through Seattle. Obviously
- 23:12Speaker 1: they want that.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and all the and all the and and with
- 23:16Speaker 2: the buy all their starting pitchers are going to pitch
- 23:20Speaker 2: essentially all the way to the end. The Brewers are
- 23:23Speaker 2: doing it a little bit differently. Some teams are not started,
- 23:27Speaker 2: not using all their starting pitchers. So to me, I
- 23:29Speaker 2: think it's a it's a it is something that it's
- 23:33Speaker 2: it's up for grabs, but not a shocker that it's
- 23:36Speaker 2: up for grabs in the American League East, the East
- 23:39Speaker 2: is a beast.
- 23:42Speaker 1: It is, And I mean you also have Boston Todd
- 23:44Speaker 1: Father They're taking on the Tigers, Tigers need to still
- 23:48Speaker 1: win some games. It's looking likely that Houston will be
- 23:51Speaker 1: the team on the outside looking in, but not a
- 23:53Speaker 1: lock yet. So we'll keep an eye on the Red
- 23:56Speaker 1: Sox and the Tigers too. And did you guys see
- 23:58Speaker 1: this story about Trevor story there you go six errors
- 24:01Speaker 1: in his last seven games, five of them on throws
- 24:04Speaker 1: to first base. And I mean, there were a few
- 24:07Speaker 1: quotes postgame. The one that stood out to me was
- 24:10Speaker 1: him essentially talking about how it's not an excuse to
- 24:13Speaker 1: say that you're getting kind of tired at the end
- 24:15Speaker 1: of the year, but that can lead to lack of
- 24:18Speaker 1: diligence on completing the throw to first base. He said,
- 24:23Speaker 1: you know, you could say body tired, that's non excuse.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Got to be very diligent about finishing the throw. Is
- 24:28Speaker 1: he kind of telling us that he's feeling it a
- 24:30Speaker 1: little bit right now?
- 24:34Speaker 3: Yeah? I guest, I guess I guess he is.
- 24:35Speaker 4: I mean, I you know, there's one thing that I
- 24:39Speaker 4: guess it's it's tough to say because if you're talking
- 24:43Speaker 4: about there's no excuse of being tired, does that that
- 24:45Speaker 4: means you're tired?
- 24:47Speaker 2: Right?
- 24:47Speaker 3: I mean, yes, first and foremost so yeah.
- 24:52Speaker 4: I mean, the season's long, but that's what you prepare for,
- 24:54Speaker 4: that's what you keep working out for and everything else.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I give him credit for even saying it, because I
- 25:00Speaker 4: was too. I was exhausted. I think a lot of
- 25:02Speaker 4: guys are at the end of the day, and you know,
- 25:05Speaker 4: fortunate for them, he's he's still able to play. So
- 25:08Speaker 4: find a little mustard mustard in there and keep working
- 25:11Speaker 4: and you know, fake it. Go ahead, man, get out
- 25:14Speaker 4: there and fake it. Get some energy, and you take
- 25:16Speaker 4: another coffee. Whatever it is you have to do to
- 25:19Speaker 4: get energized. You know, got a couple of weeks of
- 25:22Speaker 4: trying to win a World Series. Wake it up, get it,
- 25:25Speaker 4: get an IV in you something, get going.
- 25:28Speaker 1: And if they clinched tonight, maybe give him a couple
- 25:30Speaker 1: of days off because you need him to be upright
- 25:34Speaker 1: and not making throwing mistakes once per game in the
- 25:37Speaker 1: final days off.
- 25:39Speaker 2: They days off, No, No, those are bad. Those make
- 25:43Speaker 2: teams lose days off. Never right, Todd, Oh, here we go.
- 25:49Speaker 4: This This is a cratsy problem because he whatever he says,
- 25:52Speaker 4: is right that that's the issue we're having here. I
- 25:56Speaker 4: want to play more baseball games. I don't want to
- 25:57Speaker 4: sit around for five days. I want to divy and
- 26:00Speaker 4: I'm the top guy and I'm not playing. I'm frustrated.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I want to play man. And then this team's coming
- 26:05Speaker 4: in hot as can be. I don't want to play
- 26:07Speaker 4: those teams.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's case by case. So my point with Trevor
- 26:11Speaker 1: story is if he's clearly indicating he's filing a little bit,
- 26:13Speaker 1: then it's load management.
- 26:15Speaker 3: But yeah, the guy needs a break, you give him
- 26:19Speaker 3: a break.
- 26:20Speaker 1: By the way, the Tigers did win a game, so
- 26:23Speaker 1: that helped for them to get on the board early
- 26:25Speaker 1: with a couple solo homers. Riley Green also homerd later,
- 26:28Speaker 1: which helped give him a little extra insurance as they
- 26:30Speaker 1: pulled off the four to two win. Eventually, will Vest
- 26:33Speaker 1: looked like he was celebrating winning the World Series, and
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm not criticizing. I'm saying you should because they hadn't
- 26:39Speaker 1: won in like two weeks, So celebrate that thing. You
- 26:43Speaker 1: need to make the playoffs, right, It's one thing that
- 26:46Speaker 1: you're giving up the division, but you need to make
- 26:48Speaker 1: the playoffs, and that win was critical for them to
- 26:50Speaker 1: do so, otherwise they'd be tied. Well, they're they're tied
- 26:53Speaker 1: right with the Astros right now, but then the tiebreaker
- 26:56Speaker 1: or is it one back there?
- 26:58Speaker 2: One on.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Up?
- 27:00Speaker 2: But then they also have the tiebreaker, so technically it's two.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So it's lucky. How lucky are the Astros?
- 27:05Speaker 4: Man?
- 27:05Speaker 3: It doesn't.
- 27:06Speaker 4: It's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. They're gonna get in by default
- 27:11Speaker 4: pretty much.
- 27:12Speaker 2: No get in other way, Astros are a game back
- 27:17Speaker 2: of the Tigers.
- 27:19Speaker 4: And and the Red Sox too, aren't they right there
- 27:22Speaker 4: like one one behind them?
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 27:25Speaker 1: But for Boston, I mean, so Boston, here, here we go,
- 27:28Speaker 1: because I know there's a lot going on this week
- 27:30Speaker 1: right now. The Yankees don't have the tiebreaker with the
- 27:33Speaker 1: Blue Jay. Soon they're the first wildcard. Then you have
- 27:35Speaker 1: Boston as the second wildcard, one game clear of the
- 27:37Speaker 1: next team, which is Detroit. So Boston then they play
- 27:42Speaker 1: each other. It gets interesting if there's a suite on
- 27:46Speaker 1: one side or the other. That's to me where it
- 27:47Speaker 1: gets interesting.
- 27:48Speaker 4: If yes, yes, if there's a sweep, it's in Houston
- 27:53Speaker 4: wins two out of three. Listen, they're they're gonna win.
- 27:56Speaker 4: They're gonna win all their games. In my opinion, I
- 27:58Speaker 4: don't see Houston losing. So I think Boston or Detroit
- 28:01Speaker 4: is going to be the odd man out.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Would I would say, I would say it's the other way,
- 28:08Speaker 2: but really but yeah, I mean, I feel like I
- 28:12Speaker 2: feel like Boston and Detroit are going to kind of
- 28:14Speaker 2: beat each other up and Houston has to They got
- 28:17Speaker 2: to do more. They have to sweep, and I don't
- 28:19Speaker 2: know if they're playing good enough right now to sweep.
- 28:24Speaker 1: We'll see, yeah, but big win. And also I mentioned
- 28:28Speaker 1: Riley Green. He's got thirty six homers on the season.
- 28:30Speaker 1: He really slumped during this time period for the Tigers,
- 28:34Speaker 1: but overall in the year, he's had a banger year.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So he was really catching a lot of flakl Like
- 28:39Speaker 1: this was supposed to be our superstar carry us back
- 28:41Speaker 1: out of this, but he's had a really nice year.
- 28:44Speaker 1: American League postseason picture looks like this. Tigers and Guardians.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Why not matching up? If things hold off this way,
- 28:51Speaker 1: and then they'd play Seattle, then Red Sox Yankees first round?
- 28:55Speaker 1: How you doing? And then they'd match up against the
- 28:58Speaker 1: Blue Jays. So we have all the divisional stuff get
- 29:00Speaker 1: out of the way nice and early. When you think
- 29:04Speaker 1: fair Harbor, you should think soft, you should think buttery liner.
- 29:07Speaker 1: But it's not just the bathing suits, are the shorts.
- 29:11Speaker 1: It's also sweatshirts like the one that I'm wearing right now, Kratz.
- 29:14Speaker 1: It is stupid soft.
- 29:17Speaker 2: It's ridiculous that a shirt that can one keep you warm,
- 29:21Speaker 2: two be so soft, and three so lightweight like the
- 29:24Speaker 2: collar everything. You don't even feel like you actually have
- 29:27Speaker 2: a hoodie on, but you do.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It is a lightweight hoodie and it feels incredible. So
- 29:33Speaker 1: you should go get one yourself. Also for bathing suits,
- 29:36Speaker 1: for shorts, for whatever clothes that you're interested in where
- 29:39Speaker 1: you want to basically feel like you're not wearing them
- 29:41Speaker 1: but you are. That's what Fair Harbor can bring to
- 29:44Speaker 1: the table. So head to Fairharbor Clothing dot com, slash
- 29:48Speaker 1: foul twenty and use code foul twenty for twenty percent
- 29:52Speaker 1: off your order. That's Fair Harbor h A R B
- 29:55Speaker 1: O R Clothing dot com backslash foul twenty for twenty
- 29:59Speaker 1: percent off your order and make sure you use that
- 30:01Speaker 1: promo code foul twenty. One thing I've learned about our sports,
- 30:05Speaker 1: specifically with John Fisher, the owner of the A's, is
- 30:08Speaker 1: if you read something on social media and you think
- 30:10Speaker 1: it's a joke, it's probably not. Example, z, the scoreboard
- 30:16Speaker 1: at the ballpark that he's using for the next few
- 30:19Speaker 1: years was not working for the start of the Astros
- 30:22Speaker 1: A's game. I'm just gonna leave it out there for
- 30:25Speaker 1: you guys.
- 30:28Speaker 3: They're playing a travel ball game.
- 30:30Speaker 4: I love that nobody knows the score and you can
- 30:33Speaker 4: give out a hit if you really want, even if
- 30:35Speaker 4: it was an error, Like, yeah, that's my that's my boy,
- 30:37Speaker 4: that's my son.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I'm giving it a hit. No, Worri, It's all good.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, so the A's are so the A's
- 30:43Speaker 2: and John Fisher are looking at game changer now, is
- 30:46Speaker 2: that what you're saying they're following. They're following it on
- 30:49Speaker 2: game changer, like single to left fielder with like the
- 30:53Speaker 2: fake the fake noise.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah no, that is no chance. What that is. The
- 31:03Speaker 1: thing that still gets me crazy is like you'll be
- 31:06Speaker 1: watching the game and they're like, oh, they're bringing in
- 31:07Speaker 1: a lefty. Oh, here comes the bench bats from left field.
- 31:11Speaker 1: They were just swinging. Now they got to get back
- 31:14Speaker 1: to the bench in case they're needed. I'm like, jeez,
- 31:17Speaker 1: this is it's beyond embarrassing. It probably stands out less
- 31:22Speaker 1: just because the A's were knocked out of it so
- 31:24Speaker 1: early on this year with the losing whatever twenty out
- 31:27Speaker 1: of twenty one or something crazy back in the May area.
- 31:30Speaker 1: But I'm just embarrassed for the sport. Everybody else in
- 31:34Speaker 1: the industry that doesn't have control of this feels the
- 31:36Speaker 1: same way. But it'll keep going for a couple of years,
- 31:39Speaker 1: so get used to it. Hey, Yankees Giants Opening Day
- 31:42Speaker 1: next season on March twenty fifth, on Netflix, standalone game.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I like having one game to start off the season.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I like that portion of the equation. I don't like
- 31:52Speaker 1: when there's a bunch. I like it's like everyone's dying
- 31:55Speaker 1: for baseball. You get one game, right, and everyone dials
- 31:58Speaker 1: in just because they want to see ball, and then
- 32:01Speaker 1: the rest of the team's followed. You guys agree, I agree?
- 32:06Speaker 3: I think.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well should be well, should be the Reds. For years,
- 32:14Speaker 2: the Reds would play the first game of the year.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Why why No, I don't believe in that.
- 32:18Speaker 2: You don't believe in that oldest.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Know the Reds always gets okay with that. I'm okay
- 32:26Speaker 1: with that. I don't think that the Reds are the
- 32:27Speaker 1: ones that get to be the showcase every single year.
- 32:30Speaker 6: No, sorry, I agree. I agree, but but home, Yes,
- 32:36Speaker 6: they had the parade, the whole deal. We were there
- 32:38Speaker 6: last this past season. It was It's freaking awesome.
- 32:40Speaker 1: But I'm saying for the game to showcase itself nationally,
- 32:43Speaker 1: I think to only pick one team just because they
- 32:46Speaker 1: were whatever the history is, I think it has more
- 32:48Speaker 1: to do with just them having the home game to
- 32:51Speaker 1: start the year.
- 32:52Speaker 4: If that's the case, Rutgers in Princeton should be playing
- 32:56Speaker 4: college football games the first game every year. And no, no,
- 33:00Speaker 4: nobody besides us Scott want to see that.
- 33:02Speaker 1: So because they're a little strapped crats.
- 33:07Speaker 4: If you didn't know, Rutgers in Princeton were the first
- 33:09Speaker 4: ever college football game ever to play ever, So.
- 33:13Speaker 1: There you and those schools are located in New Jersey's craft.
- 33:20Speaker 2: That I knew.
- 33:26Speaker 1: A few minutes here. I want to go over matchups
- 33:28Speaker 1: for the weekend. What are you looking at? Obviously about
- 33:32Speaker 1: half of the matchups over the weekend are relevant, But
- 33:35Speaker 1: what are you watching? I'm with you, going off what
- 33:38Speaker 1: you were just saying. During the break for the TV crowd,
- 33:40Speaker 1: todd Father was talking about how the Marlins saved up
- 33:42Speaker 1: Sandy al Contra to finish his Marlin's career at home.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I think he's going to get traded this offseason. Guys,
- 33:49Speaker 1: So I think Sandy pitches in Miami one last time,
- 33:53Speaker 1: and this is his opportunity to play spoiler against Brandon Sprute,
- 33:56Speaker 1: who did not think he was going to be essentially
- 33:59Speaker 1: pitching a playoff game for the Mets in Miami on
- 34:02Speaker 1: September twenty sixth, But thus that is happening. So I
- 34:06Speaker 1: will be dialed on that one. What else do we like?
- 34:09Speaker 1: I like Gallon against Darvish. I mean it's a fun
- 34:11Speaker 1: pitching matchup. I want to see what Darvish looks like
- 34:13Speaker 1: heading into the postseason. And they saved up Gallon, so
- 34:17Speaker 1: a lot of heat on Gallon. The Diamondbacks probably have
- 34:20Speaker 1: to win out the next three games to have a chance.
- 34:22Speaker 1: What else?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Boston Boston Boston Tigers. That's a layup, that's chalk. You
- 34:30Speaker 2: have to go see it. And the big thing I'm
- 34:31Speaker 2: watching is Casey Mice. Casey Mice, if this team, if
- 34:37Speaker 2: the Tigers, who I think they're going to make the playoffs,
- 34:39Speaker 2: does anything, he has to return to his first half
- 34:43Speaker 2: form or maybe like three quarters of the way through
- 34:46Speaker 2: the year form, because they are counting on him, and
- 34:50Speaker 2: they need him for this run that they're going to
- 34:53Speaker 2: make in the playoffs. And the Tigers do hit lefties decently.
- 34:57Speaker 2: They came out and they banged MESSI around a little bit.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Who been pitching? Well, Kyle Harrison's on the mound. It's
- 35:02Speaker 2: not a given that the Tigers lose this game.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Hey, yeah, you go ahead.
- 35:09Speaker 4: And then I'm just thinking both the Blue Jays and
- 35:12Speaker 4: the Yankee games. I'm very intrigued, very intrigued to see
- 35:15Speaker 4: how this one plays out.
- 35:16Speaker 3: That's all.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Can I ask you guys a question. So our sport
- 35:20Speaker 1: definitely has spread the rock around to a million different
- 35:23Speaker 1: networks and streamers and all of that, right, but so
- 35:26Speaker 1: does NBA, so does NFL, et cetera. I've heard a
- 35:29Speaker 1: lot again about you know, oh, this game's on Apple,
- 35:32Speaker 1: So I think tonight it's it's Boston and they might clinch,
- 35:34Speaker 1: and then you know, people are are up in arms.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I mean, you can sign up for the service for
- 35:40Speaker 1: a free trial and then watch the game. Like some
- 35:42Speaker 1: people are like, it's not a bit like I won't
- 35:43Speaker 1: be able to watch it. I'm like, and I get
- 35:45Speaker 1: the money part, but I'm like, hey, I mean I've
- 35:47Speaker 1: done it. Before you can get a free trial. I'm
- 35:49Speaker 1: freezing again. Great when I'm trying to make my hear
- 35:52Speaker 1: me though, Like what am I now? If you want
- 35:55Speaker 1: to hear your broadcast? I get that part. And actually,
- 35:57Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure they do this. They did, we did
- 35:59Speaker 1: this for you, Like they'll put the radio feed in
- 36:01Speaker 1: there where you can toggle and you can listen to
- 36:03Speaker 1: your if you want the Homer call, like you can
- 36:05Speaker 1: get that. So I'm just genuinely asking, like, why are
- 36:09Speaker 1: people so angry? Like You're not going to have a
- 36:11Speaker 1: world where your local broadcast is just carrying everything for you.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That's just not how sports work in the current landscape.
- 36:19Speaker 1: So I think them at least giving you the radio
- 36:21Speaker 1: feed if you don't like the national call, what else
- 36:23Speaker 1: do you want?
- 36:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I just think people are used to having their
- 36:29Speaker 4: cable networks making it easier turn the TV on, click
- 36:32Speaker 4: to their certain channel, and boom.
- 36:33Speaker 3: That's all. That's it. We talk about old school ways.
- 36:36Speaker 3: That's probably it.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yeah, because people are like, oh, like, because this happened
- 36:39Speaker 1: with the Dodgers with Kershaw start last season, they were
- 36:42Speaker 1: the dork of the week for a lot, I'd want
- 36:44Speaker 1: to ask a lot. I'm like if you're in LA,
- 36:45Speaker 1: you can still get the Apple game. Just sign up
- 36:48Speaker 1: for a free trial and watch the game.
- 36:52Speaker 2: And fans are going to complain about different stuff, just
- 36:54Speaker 2: like players are going to complain when you play every day.
- 36:57Speaker 2: You want your routine exactly the same. But come on,
- 37:01Speaker 2: let's be honest. Like you can sign up. You're signing
- 37:05Speaker 2: up for Amazon to watch the Thursday night football games.
- 37:09Speaker 2: When they first started playing those games, Amazon's getting a
- 37:13Speaker 2: million sign ups. That's why Apple's doing it. It's because
- 37:16Speaker 2: people want to watch these games. Good for Apple going
- 37:19Speaker 2: out on the limb getting these games. Maybe they could
- 37:23Speaker 2: do a better job of calling the games. Hey they're
- 37:25Speaker 2: still young, they're growing. But to me, just sign up
- 37:29Speaker 2: for it. Just sign up for it.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Yeah, this is not a paid anything. Trust we do
- 37:33Speaker 1: nothing with them. I'm just throwing that out there. You
- 37:36Speaker 1: can also toggle to the radio broadcast and listen to them.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I know it's not perfect, perfect world. You just get
- 37:41Speaker 1: your Homer broadcast. That's what many people want. But it's
- 37:44Speaker 1: just I mean, the NFL doesn't do that at all
- 37:46Speaker 1: for any games during the regular season. So just throwing
- 37:49Speaker 1: it out there. I just I just had been seeing
- 37:51Speaker 1: it pop up again lately where they're like, oh, they
- 37:53Speaker 1: should make a way for it to still be on
- 37:55Speaker 1: the local broadcast. But I'm like, it's not like you
- 37:57Speaker 1: can't get the game. You can get the game, and
- 38:00Speaker 1: you can get the game for free with a trial,
- 38:02Speaker 1: so you're paying zero dollars. You can't get it forever,
- 38:04Speaker 1: but for a free trial, you can get it for
- 38:06Speaker 1: that one game you're trying to watch.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Get on your phone if you want, some people. If
- 38:11Speaker 2: you only have cable and you don't have like the
- 38:13Speaker 2: ticket or something, it's gonna be a little bit tougher
- 38:15Speaker 2: to get on your phone. But you can watch it
- 38:18Speaker 2: outside sitting on alone chair. All right?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Two things to do quick here for slap or make
- 38:35Speaker 1: it three things to do? I guess so. Toddy best
- 38:37Speaker 1: selling jersey third year in a row. Shocker. There's your
- 38:39Speaker 1: list of the top twenty screenshot if you want to
- 38:41Speaker 1: take a look. Number two. Andy in the chat said, hey,
- 38:44Speaker 1: don't forget to give Bob Carpenter Flowers doing his last
- 38:47Speaker 1: games this weekend, and I absolutely will. We'll get him
- 38:49Speaker 1: on in the offseason. I love Bob. I'm sure you've
- 38:51Speaker 1: seen him in the booth or something. Todd Father he's nice.
- 38:54Speaker 1: This can be. He's been in the game for a while.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I love his calls. I think he's got like a
- 38:58Speaker 1: really homey feel the way that he's called Nats games
- 39:01Speaker 1: for a long time. So cheers to him. His sign
- 39:03Speaker 1: off too at the beginning of the season, telling everyone
- 39:05Speaker 1: why he's like, I got a new job. It's to
- 39:07Speaker 1: be a dad and a grandpa. It was just a
- 39:09Speaker 1: I think it went by. It was great, So Bob,
- 39:11Speaker 1: we love you. Congratulations. They're going to do a ceremony
- 39:14Speaker 1: on Saturday, and then we'll try and get them on
- 39:16Speaker 1: at some point, maybe in the off season. To cap
- 39:18Speaker 1: it off. Kratz hat on the way out on a Friday.
- 39:22Speaker 2: American League East champions call me, Oh.
- 39:27Speaker 1: My god, right or wrong?
- 39:29Speaker 3: I just threw up my mouth. They'll find They'll find
- 39:35Speaker 3: a way to mess it up. Yankees find a way
- 39:37Speaker 3: to get through.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Wow, it's a lot on the line and you want
- 39:41Speaker 1: to buy. You want a home field action need it.
