- 0:21Speaker 3: Taylor is in a foul mood today. We will get
- 0:24Speaker 3: to that in just a second.
- 0:26Speaker 1: You would think the trade deadline and the sport that
- 0:28Speaker 1: he loves, he'd come in he's being a good mood.
- 0:32Speaker 3: He's not.
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is the worst mood I've ever seen Taylor in. Again,
- 0:35Speaker 1: We'll get to it at just a second. Mike Elco,
- 0:38Speaker 1: the head coach at Texas A and M is going
- 0:40Speaker 1: to join us an hour number two. The we Can
- 0:42Speaker 1: observations will be an hour two as well. Mount Rushmore Monday,
- 0:47Speaker 1: coming up at about fifteen to twenty minutes.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Here is he.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Are you intrigued by anything that has happened in the
- 0:55Speaker 1: last forty eight hours as it relates to Major League
- 0:59Speaker 1: Baseball and the read deadline?
- 1:02Speaker 4: No, I wanted to give you a better answer. I
- 1:07Speaker 4: was looking around. I saw the Trek school stuff yesterday,
- 1:10Speaker 4: and I was was that yesterday?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Yes, And I was like, Okay, I'd care more if
- 1:14Speaker 4: I if i'd actually, you know, watched him pitch at all.
- 1:17Speaker 4: But no, not really.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Are you surprised to hear that Taylor is in a
- 1:20Speaker 1: bad mood? I thought he was in a bad mood
- 1:22Speaker 1: because he's sitting next to Board up Ricardo and he
- 1:24Speaker 1: is fired up about Liam Hicks being traded away from
- 1:28Speaker 1: his Miami Marlins. And by the way, I was greeted
- 1:30Speaker 1: today by Board up Ricardo, not a low not how
- 1:33Speaker 1: was your weekend? It was, Hey, the Fish took three
- 1:36Speaker 1: out of four from the Mets, which, by.
- 1:38Speaker 4: The way, is like the easiest thing to do in
- 1:40Speaker 4: the National League these days. But yeah, I didn't really
- 1:44Speaker 4: have too much interest. I was just spending most of
- 1:46Speaker 4: my time trying to figure out which sport is the
- 1:48Speaker 4: worst to be traded mid season, and I.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Think it was baseball. All right, Well, we'll get back
- 1:52Speaker 1: to that in a second. Taylor, why are you in
- 1:54Speaker 1: a bad mood today?
- 1:55Speaker 5: Just once, I would like the Yankees to approach a
- 1:58Speaker 5: trade deadline right with the instead of let's build a
- 2:01Speaker 5: World Series contender, instead of Brian Cashman and the Steinbrenners
- 2:05Speaker 5: and all their cronies in that organization going into the
- 2:08Speaker 5: trade deadline saying we're going to make the playoffs. This
- 2:11Speaker 5: is good enough. I think the pieces that we have
- 2:13Speaker 5: are enough. I think the guys that are injured that
- 2:16Speaker 5: we say we can't really count on, but we're going
- 2:18Speaker 5: to count on them for the playoffs, those guys are
- 2:21Speaker 5: going to be our deadline acquisitions. And I'm watching everybody
- 2:24Speaker 5: that I wanted the Yankees to get. I wanted Taylor
- 2:26Speaker 5: Ward to be a platoon outfield bat he gets traded,
- 2:30Speaker 5: not to the Yankees. I wanted Adley Rushman to fill
- 2:34Speaker 5: the Yankees catcher need sure he gets traded in the division,
- 2:38Speaker 5: from the Orioles to the Red Sox. When everything I
- 2:41Speaker 5: heard about Adley Rushman getting traded the potential was he's
- 2:45Speaker 5: not getting traded in the division. That's what everybody who
- 2:47Speaker 5: covers the Yankee said. Well, guess what, he got traded
- 2:50Speaker 5: to the Boston Red Sox, who are lapping the Yankees
- 2:53Speaker 5: right now.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Go ahead, Mikey, you know.
- 2:55Speaker 6: What I'm sick of hearing. I'm sick of hearing them
- 2:58Speaker 6: make up this Yankee tax.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Every guy they're in on is oh, the price is
- 3:02Speaker 7: just too high because the Yankees are in on him.
- 3:04Speaker 3: No they're not.
- 3:05Speaker 6: You're just terrible at your job when you can't make
- 3:07Speaker 6: a deal.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I'm so confused by Taylor's fandom because he announced early
- 3:12Speaker 4: on in this baseball season that this was his least
- 3:15Speaker 4: favorite Yankees team ever, and I can can they change
- 3:19Speaker 4: that in one trade deadline or with one trade deadline?
- 3:22Speaker 5: They could change it if they get off the approach
- 3:25Speaker 5: of we have to clutch onto all these prospects that
- 3:28Speaker 5: we have because we think these prospects are going to
- 3:30Speaker 5: be the next best thing in this Yankee organization, when
- 3:34Speaker 5: history has shown you that hasn't been the case for
- 3:36Speaker 5: this Yankee team. And is he it's my least favorite
- 3:40Speaker 5: team because I cannot watch some of these Yankees take
- 3:44Speaker 5: at bets anymore. Where I'm talking to Ricardo beforehand, and
- 3:47Speaker 5: Ricardo's like, why do you want Adlee Rushman? He's about
- 3:49Speaker 5: as league average a hitter as you could get when
- 3:51Speaker 5: it comes to when it comes to hitting, the thing
- 3:55Speaker 5: is right now, the Yankees would kill for league average
- 4:00Speaker 5: at a catcher. Austin Wells goes up there every day,
- 4:03Speaker 5: Dominican with a with a noodle bat. We would be
- 4:07Speaker 5: better off sending the picture up instead of Austin Wells.
- 4:10Speaker 4: You're gonna say me right, well, he's now yes, same
- 4:13Speaker 4: thing worse though, I don't want it too far.
- 4:16Speaker 5: He's too far now, you come on.
- 4:19Speaker 3: He's an automatic out, but he handled that. True.
- 4:22Speaker 4: We'll take a walk with the best of them.
- 4:24Speaker 3: All right, Well, not you.
- 4:25Speaker 5: I was talking about a and Austin Wells stands for
- 4:28Speaker 5: automatic out.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yes, but he handles the staff.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Well, what if they went to the staff and they're like, no,
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't get rid of Austin Wells.
- 4:34Speaker 3: We like him.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Uh Okay, Garrett, that is a move that Garrett Cole
- 4:38Speaker 5: would do one thousand percent right. Try to bully the
- 4:40Speaker 5: Yankees into keeping the catcher that's batting, not even the
- 4:44Speaker 5: Mendoza line. The Mendoza line looks at Austin Wells batting
- 4:46Speaker 5: average right now and laughs at it.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Well, they have to change the Mendoza line now because
- 4:50Speaker 4: everybody's line.
- 4:52Speaker 5: The Wales line is the Wells line is now one
- 4:55Speaker 5: thirty two.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that sounds more appropriate. Put it on the poll.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Does the Wells line, does the Mendoza line, look at
- 5:01Speaker 1: the Wells line and lamb.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Down on the Wales line.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I thought you guys would be upset that the Dodgers
- 5:11Speaker 1: got Schooble.
- 5:12Speaker 3: That is not the case.
- 5:12Speaker 5: You don't, Yeah, right, because realistically, realistically, we're gonna have
- 5:17Speaker 5: to play them in the World Series. If if we
- 5:18Speaker 5: get past this ridiculously weak American League, and then if
- 5:22Speaker 5: we get to that, okay, then I'll worry about the Dodgers.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Right now, I'm worried about the Red Sox. I'm worried
- 5:27Speaker 5: about the Rays. That's really it in the American League.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Everybody else kind of stick.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We cut Mikey off there, I heard it you and
- 5:34Speaker 1: then he just kind of disappeared.
- 5:36Speaker 3: What happened to you? Because you came in today thinking.
- 5:39Speaker 7: That we were going to be so mad about schoolbl
- 5:42Speaker 7: You came anywhere like hey, schoobl and both.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Taylor and I were like, yeah, we figured, I mean
- 5:47Speaker 6: that's kind of where it was going.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Yes, the thing with school Scoobl to the Yankees never
- 5:52Speaker 5: made sense, and Schooble anywhere besides the Dodgers also never
- 5:57Speaker 5: really made sense. Because, if anything, I think the Dodgers
- 6:00Speaker 5: overpaid for Tarek Scubl when you're looking at the return
- 6:03Speaker 5: that they got it was Zayer Hope, who's the twenty
- 6:07Speaker 5: fifth best prospect in all of baseball at outfielder, a
- 6:10Speaker 5: right hander River Ryan. Great name for a pitcher who
- 6:13Speaker 5: was a top seventy prospect in all of baseball. Two
- 6:17Speaker 5: top seventy prospects for what is ultimately a three month rental.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Now the Dodgers are going to sign him. The Dodgers
- 6:23Speaker 5: are going to sign him to a six hundred million
- 6:25Speaker 5: dollars deal and defer all that money until the end.
- 6:28Speaker 5: But when you're a back to back World Series champion
- 6:31Speaker 5: like the Dodgers, and you have the top farm system
- 6:34Speaker 5: in baseball, you can be aggressive and make moves like
- 6:37Speaker 5: this that you think push you over the edge or
- 6:40Speaker 5: cover for what is a perceived weakness to your team
- 6:43Speaker 5: right now at the starters where I don't think other
- 6:46Speaker 5: teams were. Other teams don't really have that luxury.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Well didn't didn't he say? Tarek Scouble say, did he
- 6:52Speaker 4: say this or was it just reported that he wanted
- 6:54Speaker 4: to sign with the Dodgers as a free age Nightingale. Okay,
- 6:57Speaker 4: so if that is you know, own information, let's just
- 7:01Speaker 4: ruined the leverage I thought he just.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Gave you he spit back at you man. Is he
- 7:05Speaker 1: in a bad mood Nightingale? It's being reported by Bob Nightingale.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I'm trying to say, Yeah, I don't think anyone knew
- 7:12Speaker 1: that I'm over a good Nightingale.
- 7:16Speaker 4: The non baseball guy. I heard Nightingale, and I knew
- 7:18Speaker 4: exactly who he was talking.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I mean, there was some anger in his voice.
- 7:20Speaker 5: I just yeah, I just said Bob Nightingale like I
- 7:24Speaker 5: was in the cast of Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo
- 7:27Speaker 5: just ruined my plans.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Yes, but you didn't say, Bob, I just Nightingale. You
- 7:36Speaker 1: were saying I forgot.
- 7:37Speaker 4: What it had, But didn't that ruin the leverage or
- 7:40Speaker 4: didn't that just sort of less than the interest from
- 7:42Speaker 4: other teams? Because it's just like, this is absolutely a rental.
- 7:45Speaker 4: What's not going to matter what we do, and so
- 7:47Speaker 4: we're not going to overpay and give up all our
- 7:49Speaker 4: prospects for somebody that we're probably just going to use
- 7:51Speaker 4: when we lose.
- 7:51Speaker 1: To the Dodgers. That's exactly right. People will ask this question.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I ask it all the time. It's become one of
- 7:56Speaker 1: those sports radio topics or the Dodger's bad for baseball.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Now, the Dodgers aren't bad for baseball.
- 8:02Speaker 1: They're just the only team trying to win the World
- 8:04Speaker 1: Series every single year in baseball. The Brewers don't trade
- 8:08Speaker 1: for them because why would you. They're not going to
- 8:10Speaker 1: be able to sign them to a four hundred million
- 8:13Speaker 1: dollar contract once the season is over. There's only a
- 8:16Speaker 1: handful of teams that could do that, and the Dodgers
- 8:18Speaker 1: are the one who are willing to do it every
- 8:21Speaker 1: single time. The Dodgers aren't bad for baseball. The rest
- 8:24Speaker 1: of the teams that aren't trying to win, they're bad
- 8:27Speaker 1: for baseball.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Well, to me, I feel like this is you know,
- 8:31Speaker 4: growing up watching the Yankees or whatever team at the
- 8:33Speaker 4: time was just the dominant team, and it was you know,
- 8:36Speaker 4: they're spending the most, blah blah blah. It was always, hey,
- 8:40Speaker 4: somebody's got to beat that team. It was, and frankly,
- 8:43Speaker 4: oftentimes it did happen. And so it just feels like, yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 4: they're bad for maybe the regular season, but I know
- 8:50Speaker 4: the last couple of years are bad examples of this.
- 8:52Speaker 4: But all it takes is one team to beat them,
- 8:55Speaker 4: to get hot in a playoff series and beat them,
- 8:57Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, the game's just fine.
- 8:59Speaker 5: Across another name off my list. The Pirates are acquiring
- 9:02Speaker 5: Luke Weaver from the Mets. I was hoping for a
- 9:04Speaker 5: Luke Weaver reunion in the Bronx. I was breaking new Sounder.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I mean when epics are shutting, but I have no
- 9:10Speaker 5: time for breaking. Brian Cashman go out to get Hunter
- 9:14Speaker 5: Goodman from the Colorado Rocky's Otto Lopez or Xavier Edwards.
- 9:18Speaker 8: Please.
- 9:18Speaker 4: It is funny for a Yankees fan you do talk
- 9:20Speaker 4: about Paul Schemes a lot. Somebody that seems to be
- 9:24Speaker 4: on the top of your list at all.
- 9:25Speaker 5: He'll probably be a Dodger soon.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Everyone's going to be a Dodger soon. I mean the.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Prospects that the Dodgers traded to a walk on to
- 9:34Speaker 1: Detroit to get Scooble.
- 9:36Speaker 3: They're gonna be Dodgers again at some point, right.
- 9:38Speaker 5: If they're good. Yes, if you're the Dodgers. It's like,
- 9:42Speaker 5: first off, the biggest difference between the Dodgers and the
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yankees right now, besides the willingness from your ownership to
- 9:48Speaker 5: push all your chips into the middle, the Dodgers have
- 9:51Speaker 5: a good farm system. The number one arguably the number
- 9:54Speaker 5: one farm system. It's either them or the Brewers. According
- 9:57Speaker 5: to most people that care about this farm stuff, the
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yankees do not have a good farm system and anybody
- 10:03Speaker 5: worth a damn in the Yankees farm system. The Yankees
- 10:06Speaker 5: think they're all the next second comings of Derek Jeter,
- 10:09Speaker 5: so they don't trade them for anybody.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah, is he think about it? Though? If you're a
- 10:13Speaker 3: team like the Brewer not a Monday, but they always have.
- 10:16Speaker 3: You know, they're having a great regular season once again.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But why trade prospects away for Schooble when you know,
- 10:22Speaker 1: A you can't sign Schooble in the offseason and B
- 10:25Speaker 1: he's going to eventually be a Dodger anyway, especially when
- 10:28Speaker 1: the rest.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Of the sports world says, hey, nobody's beating the Dodgers anyway,
- 10:31Speaker 4: why even bother. So it's just like, hey, yeah, I'm
- 10:34Speaker 4: going to do this with the group that I already have,
- 10:35Speaker 4: that has this great record in the National League already.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And I know one thing's for sure if I do
- 10:41Speaker 4: end up, if we do end up facing the Dodgers
- 10:43Speaker 4: in the postseason, ninety five percent of the country will
- 10:46Speaker 4: be cheering for us and not for that team. And
- 10:47Speaker 4: it feels like, you know, it's a good way to
- 10:49Speaker 4: go about it.
- 10:49Speaker 1: But your larger point was a good one earlier when
- 10:51Speaker 1: you were saying, outside of the last two years, baseball
- 10:54Speaker 1: is so random. Yes, the Dodgers have won back to
- 10:56Speaker 1: back World Series. Yes they are the favorites to win
- 10:59Speaker 1: a third consecutive of the World Series. But baseball is
- 11:02Speaker 1: funny where any team in a best of five, of
- 11:05Speaker 1: best of seven, just about any team could beat the
- 11:07Speaker 1: Dodgers in the playoffs. It's happened before, it could happen again. Unlikely,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but it could happen.
- 11:13Speaker 5: So is he in this hypothetical Marlins Dodgers playoff series.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I think what you would get is a case like
- 11:20Speaker 5: Major League when they were talking about potentially moving the
- 11:23Speaker 5: team and the owner was rooting against the team. I
- 11:25Speaker 5: think the owner of the Marlins, Bruce Sherman, would be
- 11:28Speaker 5: rooting for the Dodgers to sweep this team and get
- 11:30Speaker 5: the Marlins out of the playoffs as fast as possible.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Because Bruce Sherman's looking at this saying, we need a
- 11:36Speaker 5: salary cap in baseball. We need a salary cap in
- 11:39Speaker 5: baseball more than I need a Wild Carter Divisional Round
- 11:42Speaker 5: playoff win. I think he would be rooting for the Dodgers.
- 11:45Speaker 4: I mean, that's quite the conspiracy theory that you know
- 11:48Speaker 4: everybody's in on this and they want the Dodgers to
- 11:50Speaker 4: succeed so that everybody has a case for the salary cap.
- 11:55Speaker 4: I just think this union has been so strong for
- 11:58Speaker 4: so long that I don't even think Dodge dominances. And again,
- 12:01Speaker 4: all it takes is one series loss for the Dodgers
- 12:03Speaker 4: to them to be like, Okay, now, what are you complaining.
- 12:05Speaker 1: About, right, it's the strongest union out there, it really is.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I mean, no one's going to cross the picket line
- 12:11Speaker 1: and they don't want a salary cap. And there's not
- 12:13Speaker 1: gonna be a salary cap in baseball. These guys have
- 12:15Speaker 1: made so much money they're fine sitting around for a
- 12:18Speaker 1: year or two if they have to. I mean, I'm
- 12:20Speaker 1: certain there's gonna be no salary cap in Major League Baseball.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Yes, Taylor, but Scooba going to the Dodgers is exactly
- 12:26Speaker 5: what the owners need in terms of a leverage chip
- 12:29Speaker 5: to look at the public perception and be like, guys,
- 12:32Speaker 5: look that the Dodgers are just gonna get everybody, and
- 12:34Speaker 5: they're gonna keep getting everybody until you put a salary
- 12:37Speaker 5: cap and then STU. What I think is gonna happen
- 12:39Speaker 5: is who blinks first?
- 12:40Speaker 3: Oh wow, if I made to stare down.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Yeah, these are the players who blinks first.
- 12:46Speaker 4: If they effectively sweep their way through a third straight championship,
- 12:50Speaker 4: I think it's going to be the best possible case.
- 12:52Speaker 4: But I just don't see it happening.
- 12:53Speaker 3: If you the.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Dodgers, you probably have to lose one along the way.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Right Just so, just so game seven.
- 13:00Speaker 3: If you care about the players you need, I mean,
- 13:02Speaker 3: that's all I'm saying.
- 13:03Speaker 5: When there's no baseball in twenty twenty seven, Yes, we
- 13:05Speaker 5: could look back at Saturday at eleven thirty when Jeff
- 13:08Speaker 5: Passing announced that schoobl trade to remind ourselves to thank
- 13:12Speaker 5: the Tigers for Why the only baseball we're watching this
- 13:15Speaker 5: summer is banana ball.
- 13:17Speaker 4: You're being sarcastic, but I would thank him for it
- 13:19Speaker 4: if I don't want to watch any baseball.
- 13:21Speaker 1: By the way, the Tigers who traded him away or
- 13:23Speaker 1: two and a half out of the wild corps.
- 13:24Speaker 5: H yeah, they're getting hot about that. They could use
- 13:27Speaker 5: a school boy.
- 13:28Speaker 3: How about that?
- 13:29Speaker 4: Do they have time to.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Trade him back or no, no, no, the Dodgers will
- 13:33Speaker 1: get him back somehow. Anyways, what is the Mount Rushmore today?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Taylor is a three time champion of Mount Rushmore. Mondays,
- 13:40Speaker 1: he's a Michael Jordan of Mount Rushby's.
- 13:42Speaker 3: The La Dodgers.
- 13:43Speaker 4: He's gotten back to back.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Yes, what is today's Mount Rushmore? Taylor?
- 13:47Speaker 5: So the Mount Rushmore Monday is going to be athletes
- 13:50Speaker 5: and movies And just to limit the field a little,
- 13:54Speaker 5: we're gonna say no wrestlers.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Wow, So no thunderlips huh.
- 13:58Speaker 5: And this just for Dan By.
- 14:00Speaker 3: He was great, I mean HOGI was great.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Yeah, go ahead, this is for Dan Bayer when we
- 14:04Speaker 5: do the Mount Rushmore Monday. It's not the best athletes
- 14:08Speaker 5: in the movies, it's the best roles that they played
- 14:11Speaker 5: in said movie.
- 14:12Speaker 4: I mean, why does it really matter? Dan just does
- 14:14Speaker 4: what he wants anyway, He's right.
- 14:17Speaker 9: Yeah, you didn't have to say it, Taylor, but it's
- 14:19Speaker 9: we're just we're gonna go with what I think. Thank you.
- 14:22Speaker 8: Dan.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You have any thoughts on the Dodgers being banned for baseball? Well?
- 14:27Speaker 9: As a as a Brewers fan, I'm actually on the
- 14:30Speaker 9: side of I think the Brewers should have acquired schoobl
- 14:32Speaker 9: for the simple fact of you were swept by the
- 14:34Speaker 9: Dodgers last year in the NLCS. The thing that you
- 14:38Speaker 9: couldn't have happened was Scoble go to the Dodgers, and
- 14:41Speaker 9: so for that reason alone.
- 14:43Speaker 3: You know.
- 14:43Speaker 9: At some point, I know, and I think Taylor said,
- 14:46Speaker 9: the Brewers have one of the best, if not the
- 14:47Speaker 9: best farm system in baseball. Sometimes prospects work out, you
- 14:51Speaker 9: got to roll the dice, and I think it was
- 14:52Speaker 9: more important for the Brewers to not have Derek Scubel
- 14:55Speaker 9: on the Dodgers than it would be to say, deal
- 14:57Speaker 9: a prospect to Detroit and have them turn out to
- 15:00Speaker 9: be a star. That was the biggest miss I thought
- 15:03Speaker 9: of the weekend. Well, here's the problem with baseball.
- 15:05Speaker 1: The Brewers are perfectly fine making it to the NLCS
- 15:08Speaker 1: every single year and getting swept.
- 15:10Speaker 3: By the Dodgers.
- 15:13Speaker 1: That's a positive year, both with money, economy and just
- 15:17Speaker 1: as a team.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Those are positives for the Brewers. They don't care if
- 15:20Speaker 3: they win the World Series.
- 15:21Speaker 4: So they fixed baseball in terms of the rule of
- 15:23Speaker 4: the sport and making it more watchable. But it becomes
- 15:25Speaker 4: unwatchable when the Dodgers win everything.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yep, something like that. Yes, well said, is he?
- 15:30Speaker 1: What is the Mount Rushmore order today?
- 15:32Speaker 3: Taylor? Have you decided an order yet?
- 15:35Speaker 5: We will randomize that during the break. Okay, I've never
- 15:37Speaker 5: seen you this prepared for mount I'm.
- 15:39Speaker 3: A little nervous about it.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you because you took away
- 15:43Speaker 1: the wrestlers.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I mean you got a lot to choose from. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 15:47Speaker 5: I wanted John Cena and Blucker in What Blockers?
- 15:53Speaker 3: He is one of seen his movies the see.
- 15:55Speaker 9: It's sena golden tickets already been written down, by the way,
- 15:59Speaker 9: already written down.
- 16:01Speaker 4: All right, are there any athletes in the Willy Wonka movie?
- 16:05Speaker 3: All right? A Mount Rushmore Monday is coming up next.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
- 16:13Speaker 2: Live weekd said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
- 16:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
- 16:21Speaker 3: So.
- 16:21Speaker 1: One of the many things I love about this job,
- 16:23Speaker 1: and I love about Israel goody Eras, is that you
- 16:26Speaker 1: never know what's gonna set is he off.
- 16:30Speaker 4: A good point?
- 16:30Speaker 3: And you've been set off today?
- 16:32Speaker 1: My friend Kevin Durant is the reason that is he
- 16:36Speaker 1: is in a foul mood.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I guess no, No, just whenever somebody says something where
- 16:42Speaker 4: I just sort of kind of see right through it, right,
- 16:45Speaker 4: It's just, you know, it's just a topic that interests me.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Okay, we have some sound from Kevin Durant over the weekend.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I think you're talking about his response to the Philadelphia
- 16:54Speaker 1: seventy six ers and the dream team they've created.
- 16:57Speaker 4: So it's a couple of things, right, and we'll play
- 16:58Speaker 4: this sound right here where he's responding to this question.
- 17:00Speaker 4: But I believe somebody asked him here, let's just play
- 17:02Speaker 4: this sound. Somebody asked him whether the Philadelphia seventy six
- 17:06Speaker 4: or seems like a mindless question, are going to be
- 17:09Speaker 4: contenders this coming year. And here's what Katie said, you.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Know like their contenders.
- 17:14Speaker 5: Sure you don't think something, No, I'm just asking you.
- 17:18Speaker 10: Last time he played three twenty points scores on team,
- 17:21Speaker 10: they said it was unfair, which is the team they
- 17:23Speaker 10: got four, So that it'll be a contender, man, they'll
- 17:28Speaker 10: be a great team to watch.
- 17:31Speaker 4: And he went on from there just to go on Twitter,
- 17:34Speaker 4: which is you know, his his preferred form of communication,
- 17:38Speaker 4: to then sort of continue to double down on the conversation, Like,
- 17:42Speaker 4: first of all, Stu back that he he sort of
- 17:46Speaker 4: simplified what the Warriors did by bringing him in by
- 17:49Speaker 4: calling it the last time they put three twenty point
- 17:52Speaker 4: a game scorers together, That's not what you guys were.
- 17:55Speaker 4: That wasn't three guys who just averaged twenty points. That
- 17:58Speaker 4: was two of those guys that won combined three MVPs.
- 18:02Speaker 4: So let's not just sort of dismiss what you actually were.
- 18:06Speaker 1: And it was unfair, Well, it was, yes, Well, the
- 18:09Speaker 1: big difference being that Philadelphia is not coming off a
- 18:11Speaker 1: season in which they broke the regular season win total
- 18:15Speaker 1: and won an NBA championship. Yeah, the Warriors were exactly yes.
- 18:19Speaker 4: And he is then doubling down on Twitter by saying
- 18:23Speaker 4: by sort of breaking it down, saying, hey, on paper,
- 18:27Speaker 4: the Philadelphia seventy six ers this year's version are even
- 18:31Speaker 4: better than that Warriors version. And he makes these comparisons
- 18:34Speaker 4: to the Joel a recent MVP. So there's Steph, the
- 18:37Speaker 4: recent MVP. Those aren't the same, man, those they're not
- 18:40Speaker 4: the same. We have not seen anything that Joel Hembida
- 18:43Speaker 4: has done past the second round because he's never been there.
- 18:46Speaker 4: So they're just not the same. And then he said
- 18:49Speaker 4: a recent finals MVP in Jalen Brown. Okay, let's pause
- 18:53Speaker 4: there for a second, because he went on to say
- 18:55Speaker 4: other things. Not once did he bring up Andrea Guadala,
- 18:58Speaker 4: who is a finals MVP recently. And then he talked
- 19:02Speaker 4: about he said Klay Thompson was never a finalist for
- 19:06Speaker 4: MVP or nothing right, and then just said twenty two
- 19:09Speaker 4: points a game, yes, And then through Draymond green stats
- 19:11Speaker 4: out there, which was something like fourteen points a game,
- 19:13Speaker 4: seven rebounds and six.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Assists, he's trying to give off that that team wasn't
- 19:17Speaker 1: nearly as good as we thought it was.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Right, So basically over hyping Jalen Brown a little bit,
- 19:22Speaker 4: over hyping a forty one going into forty two, Lebron James,
- 19:26Speaker 4: probably over hyping Tyrese Maxie a bit too, because if
- 19:30Speaker 4: Joel Embiid had been healthy throughout, you know, the last
- 19:32Speaker 4: three years of Tyrese Maxi, I don't think Tyre's Maxie's
- 19:35Speaker 4: numbers are as good as they are currently. So it's
- 19:39Speaker 4: all just him, you know, moving the goalpost a little
- 19:42Speaker 4: bit here and there to try to make a point,
- 19:44Speaker 4: which I don't agree with at all.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Yeah, this is this is kadis still trying to justify
- 19:49Speaker 5: the weakest move in NBA history.
- 19:51Speaker 3: That's it.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Yeah, is he The point that you made and the
- 19:54Speaker 5: saddest comparison that he made was comparing Curry's MVP to
- 19:59Speaker 5: Joel Embiid's m MVP, saying that Joel was an MVP
- 20:02Speaker 5: recently because how many injuries ago was Joel Embiid's MVP.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Joel Embiid might as well be a completely different player now.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Yes, and you can't. Honestly, there are very few MVPs
- 20:11Speaker 4: you could even compare to Steph Curry, who was unanimous
- 20:15Speaker 4: and the first time unanimous MVP, So that in itself
- 20:19Speaker 4: is not a fair comparison. And normally I agree with
- 20:23Speaker 4: like ninety five percent of the stuff Katie says. He's
- 20:26Speaker 4: lately come across as somebody, you know, the more veteran player,
- 20:29Speaker 4: the older, wiser guy, the one who's like not in
- 20:33Speaker 4: it for the nonsense, and he just kind of goes
- 20:34Speaker 4: in and breaks down things in a sensible way. But
- 20:38Speaker 4: this one, he's just trying too hard. And I don't
- 20:41Speaker 4: even get it due because what Taylor said is correct, right,
- 20:44Speaker 4: He's trying to justify what many people believe is the
- 20:47Speaker 4: weakest move ever in sports.
- 20:49Speaker 1: He's gonna be justifying that and defending that move for
- 20:52Speaker 1: the remainder of his life.
- 20:54Speaker 3: That's what he signed up.
- 20:55Speaker 4: For, right But to do that whilst also insulting them,
- 20:59Speaker 4: right rayon, that's how you have to do it.
- 21:01Speaker 3: You have to.
- 21:02Speaker 1: There's no way of doing it without him insulting the
- 21:05Speaker 1: Golden State Warrior team that he played on.
- 21:06Speaker 4: So he's more concerned with public perception about his move
- 21:11Speaker 4: than his actual personal relationships with these folks. It's just
- 21:15Speaker 4: a little sideways for me.
- 21:16Speaker 5: The biggest difference in terms of the public perception, besides
- 21:19Speaker 5: the fact that the seventy six ers weren't this title
- 21:22Speaker 5: contending team before Lebron James got there, to quote unquote
- 21:25Speaker 5: ring Chase Stude, the difference is Kevin Durant wins a
- 21:29Speaker 5: title in Golden State. There is nothing he could ever
- 21:33Speaker 5: do to make Warriors fans love him more than Steph Curry.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 21:37Speaker 5: If Lebron wins a title this year or next year
- 21:40Speaker 5: in Philadelphia, yep, he is Philadelphia's guy for eternity, his city.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Right next to that Rocky statue, they're putting up a
- 21:47Speaker 5: Lebron James statue.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:49Speaker 1: The other big difference is, you know, Kevin Durant was
- 21:51Speaker 1: on a team that was up three to one on
- 21:53Speaker 1: the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals the
- 21:56Speaker 1: year before he left Oklahoma City and went to Golden
- 22:00Speaker 1: State and joined the team that came back from that
- 22:02Speaker 1: three one deficit and went on to win an NBA championship.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That team is one of the greatest teams to have
- 22:07Speaker 1: ever played in the NBA, and Kevin Durant felt like
- 22:10Speaker 1: they needed more.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yes, and then so going back to that point about
- 22:14Speaker 4: just him not really caring about his personal relationships, Like
- 22:17Speaker 4: I don't know how many people thought they had poor
- 22:20Speaker 4: relationships over there.
- 22:21Speaker 3: It just break.
- 22:22Speaker 4: It just comes down to what Taylor just said. He
- 22:25Speaker 4: seemed like he was upset. Now he's going to say
- 22:27Speaker 4: this is fan fiction. He's going to say this is
- 22:29Speaker 4: not the case. But people around there have people around
- 22:33Speaker 4: him at the time had noticed it, had you know,
- 22:36Speaker 4: probably even heard comments from him where it's just like,
- 22:38Speaker 4: they don't love you the same way they do Steph
- 22:41Speaker 4: and they don't value you the same way they do
- 22:43Speaker 4: the homegrown guys. And that's why he ended up getting
- 22:46Speaker 4: out of there, and he just used Draymond Green and
- 22:48Speaker 4: his you know, his argument with Draymond Green as the
- 22:52Speaker 4: reason he was leaving. But it's just like what he
- 22:55Speaker 4: did to Klay Thompson was so unfair right there.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but he had to to justify what it is
- 22:59Speaker 1: he did. That's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 23:01Speaker 4: But here's a question for you. If you needed a
- 23:03Speaker 4: two way player today, would you take prime Jalen Brown
- 23:08Speaker 4: or prime Klay Thompson Because people forget how good of
- 23:11Speaker 4: a defender he was, right, and so if you were
- 23:14Speaker 4: to I don't think Klay Thompson would have been a
- 23:16Speaker 4: lead guy on a highly successful team, but he damn
- 23:20Speaker 4: sure proved he could be a number two guy on
- 23:22Speaker 4: a very successful, wildly successful team. And that's what Jalen
- 23:26Speaker 4: Brown was yesspite his Finals MVP, for the entirety of
- 23:31Speaker 4: his time there with Jason Tatum, he was considered the
- 23:33Speaker 4: number two. So already it's just flaws and those you
- 23:37Speaker 4: know in his argument, and those are the ones that
- 23:39Speaker 4: normally KD is above. So the reason I say I'm
- 23:42Speaker 4: shocked by this is because it's it's it's crazy how
- 23:46Speaker 4: hard he continues to double triple quadruple down on this
- 23:50Speaker 4: concept and just say, hey, why don't you just enjoy
- 23:53Speaker 4: possibly the greatest team that's ever been put together in
- 23:57Speaker 4: the NBA. Instead, he's trying to knock them to lift him,
- 24:00Speaker 4: and I just think he's above that.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Katie could have won me over if he took a
- 24:04Speaker 5: torch to Draymond Green, because I'm at the point where
- 24:06Speaker 5: I have Draymond Green fatigue right now. If he just
- 24:09Speaker 5: came out and said, if we replaced Draymond Green with
- 24:12Speaker 5: Robert Covington, Robert Covington's this Hall of Famer, I would
- 24:15Speaker 5: have been like, I would have been in Katy's corner
- 24:18Speaker 5: with a Katie Jersey being like Katy, great point, great point,
- 24:20Speaker 5: Bob Coo.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I mean I would have I would have laughed when
- 24:24Speaker 4: you said that, Taylor, and I would have supported you.
- 24:26Speaker 4: But I would have said no, even for somebody who
- 24:29Speaker 4: dislikes Draymond Green's public you know, persona and how he
- 24:33Speaker 4: presents himself and throw these opinions that dude was phenomenal
- 24:37Speaker 4: back then. If you go back to the Game seven
- 24:39Speaker 4: that they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, you put up
- 24:42Speaker 4: a thirty point was it a triple double. He was
- 24:45Speaker 4: just phenomenal. And so, yeah, what player did you say,
- 24:48Speaker 4: Robert Covington.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Robert Covington, Yes, but Paul Millsap there and he does
- 24:52Speaker 1: the same thing.
- 24:53Speaker 5: He's phenomenal too. He and Paul millsapp would have stood
- 24:56Speaker 5: for phenomenal and the m.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Would have for MVB. What do you have?
- 25:01Speaker 8: Dan?
- 25:01Speaker 3: There's also this point a half that's what do you have?
- 25:05Speaker 9: There's also this point that Kevin Durant will never understand,
- 25:07Speaker 9: and it's what he did to Oklahoma City. I don't
- 25:10Speaker 9: think there are a lot of people here that care
- 25:11Speaker 9: that Lebron left the Lakers because it was the Lakers.
- 25:14Speaker 9: But when Durant talks, whenever he talks or he talks
- 25:17Speaker 9: about the Warriors team, there is always the part of
- 25:19Speaker 9: what he did to Oklahoma City. And even though the
- 25:21Speaker 9: thunder of comeback and rebuilt and have won an NBA title,
- 25:25Speaker 9: that stain on Durant will never change. So, while it's
- 25:27Speaker 9: not a part of this direct conversation, I think the
- 25:30Speaker 9: way that people feel about Durant still goes back to
- 25:33Speaker 9: what he did to Oklahoma City in that moment. Yeah,
- 25:36Speaker 9: one hundred percent. And here's another stay and even though, look,
- 25:39Speaker 9: you know this, I'm a huge Rockets fan. I love it,
- 25:42Speaker 9: and I've always loved KD as a player, and ninety
- 25:46Speaker 9: five percent of the time, like I said, I agree
- 25:48Speaker 9: with what he says. But what teammates, big name teammates
- 25:52Speaker 9: that he's had that are like cool with him, that
- 25:55Speaker 9: are are friendly with him, that support him.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I mean, maybe Kyrie Irving maybe the ally you want necessarily,
- 26:01Speaker 4: So it's just it would upset me if I was,
- 26:06Speaker 4: you know, a lifelong Kevin Durant fan, that he doesn't
- 26:09Speaker 4: have those allies, those supporters and those and maybe he does,
- 26:12Speaker 4: maybe they're just not the big name stars.
- 26:15Speaker 5: It always surprises me that Kevin Durant seems shocked by
- 26:18Speaker 5: the blowback from what came after he chose the Warriors
- 26:23Speaker 5: and winning in Golden State and how that has kind
- 26:25Speaker 5: of affected his legacy. If he could go back, do
- 26:28Speaker 5: you think he would have still went to Golden State? Like,
- 26:31Speaker 5: knowing what he knows now, he makes a different team,
- 26:33Speaker 5: you think.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I do.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I think he stays at Oklahoma City, Yes, yeah, I
- 26:37Speaker 1: mean it's the opposite of everything we're taught about sports
- 26:40Speaker 1: and competition.
- 26:41Speaker 3: If you can't beat him, join them that's not what
- 26:43Speaker 3: we're taught. We're taught. If you can't beat him, go back,
- 26:45Speaker 3: get to work and try harder.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I think going back, armed with hindsight, I think
- 26:49Speaker 4: he would still leave Oklahoma City because the whole Russell
- 26:53Speaker 4: Westbrook and Billy Donovan thing probably true, right, especially on
- 26:55Speaker 4: the Billy Donovan part. Not you know, a multiple time
- 26:58Speaker 4: championship head coach. But he would go to another team,
- 27:01Speaker 4: he would say. The reason being is he was at
- 27:04Speaker 4: Golden State and he saw, Yes, Steph's great, but I
- 27:07Speaker 4: don't need a system. I am the system right, and
- 27:10Speaker 4: I could win pretty much anywhere. And he probably could
- 27:14Speaker 4: have gotten you know, one a team, let's say it's Philadelphia,
- 27:17Speaker 4: could have gotten in Philadelphia a championship. You know that
- 27:20Speaker 4: it hadn't won in over thirty plus years at the time,
- 27:22Speaker 4: forty years maybe at the time, and looked completely different.
- 27:25Speaker 4: And I think armed with hindsight, he definitely would do that.
- 27:27Speaker 1: You know, I was reading a book it's called Ustu
- 27:29Speaker 1: Got's Personal Record Book, and it's you know, it's my
- 27:32Speaker 1: favorite author. And what he wrote in that book and
- 27:35Speaker 1: it rings true to this conversation, is he imagine Michael
- 27:39Speaker 1: Jordan not being able to get past the Detroit Pistons,
- 27:42Speaker 1: and rather than getting back to work, what he decided
- 27:45Speaker 1: to do was, Hey, you know what, I can't beat
- 27:47Speaker 1: this team. I'm not going to work harder. I'm just
- 27:49Speaker 1: going to join this team. Imagine if Michael Jordan did that, Seriously,
- 27:53Speaker 1: in what world would he do that?
- 27:55Speaker 3: There is no world?
- 27:56Speaker 1: And son Kevin Durant is haunted by his own decision
- 28:00Speaker 1: and will be haunted by that decision for the remainder
- 28:03Speaker 1: of time, because what he's trying to do as he
- 28:04Speaker 1: gets older is justify his place in NBA history.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Dan Stanze c your favorite author too, Yes.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Yes, I mean the book doesn't get done without him. Wow.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Now I'm just picturing though. Imagine the lineup. You got
- 28:16Speaker 4: to move Michael Jordan to the three but Man, Isaiah Thomas,
- 28:19Speaker 4: Joe Dumart, Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman and Bill lame Beer.
- 28:23Speaker 4: They'd definitely be fighting those warriors for the best team ever.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yes, is he do you like appetizers?
- 28:28Speaker 1: The reason I asked that question it's an odd if Jordan.
- 28:33Speaker 9: If Jordan joined the Pistons, honest question, and you have
- 28:36Speaker 9: Vinnie Johnson as the microwave, would Jordan be the air
- 28:39Speaker 9: fryer instead of air Jordan.
- 28:41Speaker 4: There's a little too early a time machine for I
- 28:44Speaker 4: guess so.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I like pigs in a blanket personally.
- 28:47Speaker 1: The reason I asked that is because Taylor told me
- 28:49Speaker 1: he's got a football appetizer.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Wow, well, I feel like we need a little football
- 28:54Speaker 5: appetizer right now. Get some football in this conversation.
- 28:57Speaker 4: You.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:58Speaker 5: ESPN's Ben sol on the Golcks earlier today said the
- 29:03Speaker 5: Bears are on Regression Watch, but the Bears are also
- 29:06Speaker 5: on Elite Watch.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Covered all his bases.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Anything can happen with the Chicago Bears this season. What
- 29:14Speaker 4: an appetizer?
- 29:15Speaker 7: So you're telling me as long as they finish above
- 29:18Speaker 7: or below where they were exactly last year.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Yes, he's right.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yes, for the first ten minutes, mikey A did not
- 29:24Speaker 1: make a move, and then he perked up the second
- 29:26Speaker 1: that said, Ben Sulwaker, pigs and the blankets.
- 29:32Speaker 6: Listen how Kevin Durant led this show is beyond me?
- 29:35Speaker 4: Yeah, well, is he in the news?
- 29:37Speaker 6: I had?
- 29:38Speaker 5: I had an opening monologue prepared about Brian Cashman.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Did you I want to hear it comes? Maybe? As
- 29:45Speaker 3: Draymond Green responded to the KD. I'm certain.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Yeah, and this is this is what drives me crazy.
- 29:50Speaker 4: He's not signing it about Draymond. Draymond gave a like,
- 29:54Speaker 4: offered a joke that a high schooler would have offered now,
- 29:58Speaker 4: and then laughed at himself with the million crying emojis.
- 30:01Speaker 4: He said, uh, sniper, thought he was on his burner.
- 30:06Speaker 4: It's a good joke for like five years ago.
- 30:08Speaker 8: Man.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yeah, what's your favorite appetizer?
- 30:11Speaker 5: Pigs in a stew Yeah, I think pigs in a blanket.
- 30:14Speaker 5: If you were doing a Mount Rushmore Monday, Yeah, maybe
- 30:17Speaker 5: that's an upcoming Mount Rushmore Monday appetizers.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Yes, I mean it's up to me. I was the winner,
- 30:22Speaker 3: so ye see.
- 30:23Speaker 5: I would spoil my draft board right now and tell
- 30:24Speaker 5: you guys, my one one is pigs in a blanket.
- 30:27Speaker 4: I feel bad for the sculptors who have to do
- 30:29Speaker 4: food on a mountain. But Mikey, what do you think.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Let's go to our expert.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Oh many sliders?
- 30:35Speaker 5: Wow? Great?
- 30:36Speaker 4: Really it's too filling for me. It's too much in
- 30:38Speaker 4: an appetizer.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Yeah, no, up, Yeah, I'm with you.
- 30:44Speaker 3: He's chiseled.
- 30:45Speaker 5: I mean, Mikey, I am with you that I think
- 30:47Speaker 5: many sliders are better than regular sized burgers.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Put it on a pole. Yeah, that's a different question.
- 30:53Speaker 4: I agree with you there.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Yes, put it on the pole.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Are many sliders better than an actual, real size burger?
- 31:00Speaker 3: I'm not certain I like a big burger.
- 31:02Speaker 8: I do.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I got beef carpaccio as an appetite. She's gone right, right?
- 31:06Speaker 3: What's the go to Izzy's house for a big game?
- 31:09Speaker 5: And that's what's being said.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I'm never gonna prepare it. I'm not a professional chef.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Well, but I'm a lowder that arresta Welcome to my tailgate.
- 31:15Speaker 5: We've got beef carpaca. Oh yeah, that's not at right temperature.
- 31:18Speaker 5: Nothing gets me to leave a tailgate faster than the
- 31:20Speaker 5: word beef carpaccio.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Nothing gets me to not show up. We've got a
- 31:24Speaker 3: good tartar.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Isn't that terrible either?
- 31:26Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu gottson Company
- 31:30Speaker 2: Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 31:35Speaker 1: It is a whatever you want to talk about Wednesday
- 31:37Speaker 1: here on Stutgotts and Company eight seven seven ninety nine
- 31:40Speaker 1: on Fox.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Mikey A is laughing already.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I keep trying to get this off the ground every
- 31:44Speaker 1: single Wednesday. Whatever you want to talk about Wednesday. And
- 31:48Speaker 1: I am making a pledge to the callers. I don't
- 31:50Speaker 1: care what we're talking about. I will stop whatever it
- 31:53Speaker 1: is we're talking about to take your phone call and
- 31:55Speaker 1: talk about what you want to talk about.
- 31:57Speaker 3: How about that.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Rolls right off the tongue. Whatever you want to talk
- 32:00Speaker 4: about Wednesday.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We start in
- 32:04Speaker 1: a very strange place today. I'm very excited for today's show.
- 32:08Speaker 1: We have Tim Kirchin and Hogdale on in nowur number two.
- 32:11Speaker 1: But we start in the strangest of place as a
- 32:14Speaker 1: place I've never started before.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Akron Ohio, oh Lebron time.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take it from here.
- 32:20Speaker 5: No, no, no, I'll take that ball. I'll take that
- 32:23Speaker 5: ball right back from you.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Is there anything Akron can do to interest you guys
- 32:29Speaker 5: in some Zips football this year?
- 32:31Speaker 3: Not really? Is that the home of Jason Taylor, by
- 32:34Speaker 3: the way, that's.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Where he went to school. Yeah, yeah, Akron Zips. No,
- 32:38Speaker 4: I don't think so far.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 32:39Speaker 5: So that's exactly what Akron thought. And they said the
- 32:43Speaker 5: ante must be upped this season, right, So what Akron
- 32:48Speaker 5: did is They introduced a new promotion in which a
- 32:53Speaker 5: season ticket holder will get to script the opening drive
- 32:57Speaker 5: of Akron's home opener, what against Robert more Rs. The
- 33:00Speaker 5: promotion is called the Offensive Coordinator of the Game.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Wow the OC.
- 33:05Speaker 4: Huh wait wait wait wait wait, So one of the
- 33:08Speaker 4: season ticket holders will just get to script the opening
- 33:11Speaker 4: drive of the home opener. Not every home game, just
- 33:14Speaker 4: the home opener for right now.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Yes, correct, the home opener against Robert Morris. All current
- 33:19Speaker 5: season ticket holders will be automatically entered into a random
- 33:23Speaker 5: drawing for every new season ticket holder. A current one
- 33:26Speaker 5: successfully refers, they'll receive additional entries. And right now, it's
- 33:31Speaker 5: all the buzz on social media.
- 33:33Speaker 3: It's great.
- 33:33Speaker 5: You got people from all over the country who play
- 33:35Speaker 5: this college football video game saying what they do is
- 33:38Speaker 5: in that hard. Let me buy some Acron season I
- 33:41Speaker 5: think it's like eighty dollars to get Acron season tickets.
- 33:43Speaker 3: But I was going to ask you how much.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Normally this is Easy's role with a follow up, but
- 33:47Speaker 1: I do have a couple of follow ups. Please price
- 33:49Speaker 1: out four season tickets to Acron football this year. I
- 33:54Speaker 1: just want to see how much they cost. It Also,
- 33:55Speaker 1: how bad is Robert Morris at football? I need to
- 33:58Speaker 1: know what was the record last year for Robert Morris?
- 34:01Speaker 1: Meaning are they really putting this game in jeopardy by
- 34:04Speaker 1: letting a season ticket holder script the opening drive of
- 34:08Speaker 1: the first game at home against Robert Morris?
- 34:11Speaker 3: They have to be bad.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Robert Morris was three and nine less season?
- 34:14Speaker 3: Okay? And what was achron? That's a better clear. Yeah, Mikey,
- 34:20Speaker 3: I would say this.
- 34:20Speaker 7: Most people are like, oh man, I'm going flee, flick
- 34:23Speaker 7: or hail Mary? Why other zip? I'm gonna zag. I
- 34:26Speaker 7: hope they have a fullback. I hope they're ready to
- 34:29Speaker 7: pound the rock because I'm making it like an eighteen
- 34:31Speaker 7: play drive here. I'm going to make it last really
- 34:36Speaker 7: full back dive. I'm looking to get a job out
- 34:38Speaker 7: of this.
- 34:38Speaker 3: One at a time.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Yes, So I'm on the go zips website right now.
- 34:44Speaker 5: The cheapest season ticket in section U two one seventy
- 34:49Speaker 5: five dollars. I kind of overshot it saying eighty five dollars.
- 34:53Speaker 5: But Mikey, you'll actually access Yeah, You'll be working with
- 34:56Speaker 5: head coach Joe moorehead and he will help few design
- 35:01Speaker 5: design the plays. My thinking though, Joe Morehead knows how
- 35:06Speaker 5: much of a gimmick this is. Like, no football guy
- 35:09Speaker 5: is signing up for this where Joe Schmoe's coming off
- 35:12Speaker 5: the street. There is no way he's rooting for success
- 35:15Speaker 5: on that first drive, right.
- 35:18Speaker 7: Former Fordham head coach, I'm all in, let's go Joe Morehead.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but Morehead has final say Dan Bayer has something
- 35:24Speaker 1: he has perked umpy or he is excited about this topic.
- 35:27Speaker 9: Yes, yeah, despite Robert Morris being three to nine in
- 35:31Speaker 9: the NEC Again, this is not FBS, but in the FCS,
- 35:35Speaker 9: I still think that the drive will amount to ZIP
- 35:38Speaker 9: points for whoever designs.
- 35:39Speaker 3: It's for Akron.
- 35:41Speaker 1: So you're saying Akron can afford to do this and
- 35:44Speaker 1: not really jeopardize the game. Well, I'm also saying that
- 35:47Speaker 1: Robert Morris may be bad, but there's no way that
- 35:49Speaker 1: they're gonna let some amateur go in and put points
- 35:52Speaker 1: on the board in the opening drive.
- 35:53Speaker 4: Like there's gotta be a system, right, because there's got
- 35:56Speaker 4: to be a little astiss by design the first drive
- 35:59Speaker 4: I would have And first of all, if I'm this coach,
- 36:01Speaker 4: I'm getting it written into my contract that if we
- 36:04Speaker 4: have a terrible season, because we're starting off with this
- 36:07Speaker 4: terrible idea. Yeah, this year does not count for me,
- 36:10Speaker 4: and I deserve more money, right, But also, there's no
- 36:13Speaker 4: way they're actually going to be able to create a
- 36:15Speaker 4: drive for themselves. The coach is going to be like,
- 36:17Speaker 4: all right, first play this player that play, Second play
- 36:20Speaker 4: this player that play, and then just go from there
- 36:21Speaker 4: because there's no chance at heck, he's like, anybody's gonna
- 36:24Speaker 4: really get to, you know, pick the plays, yes, Deller.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Depending on how that first drive goes, is there any
- 36:31Speaker 5: scenario where that guy gets on staff Because I think
- 36:34Speaker 5: in my mind, I.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Mean, if they're up seven to nothing, if.
- 36:37Speaker 5: They're up seven to nothing and they have a twenty
- 36:40Speaker 5: five play scripted methodical drive where they're just driving down
- 36:45Speaker 5: on Robert Morris, I think that guy has to be
- 36:49Speaker 5: considered for the second drive too.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I think more Head gets fired on the spot.
- 36:52Speaker 9: I think, yeah, That's where I'm thinking, right, yes, Or
- 36:57Speaker 9: if it fails, do you just fire Morehead or the
- 36:59Speaker 9: social media guy who came up with this idea?
- 37:02Speaker 6: Yeah, conspiracy theory. Did Bill Belichick run this.
- 37:06Speaker 5: Last year with those opening drives?
- 37:09Speaker 7: That was a great opening drive because it went all
- 37:11Speaker 7: downhill from there?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's saying a fan drew it up because
- 37:14Speaker 1: every other drive stunk.
- 37:18Speaker 5: So I'm looking at akron schedule from last season and
- 37:22Speaker 5: what I'm what I'm realizing right now. They went to Lincoln,
- 37:26Speaker 5: Nebraska and played the corn Huskers. They lost sixty eight nothing.
- 37:30Speaker 5: I think this is a case of Akron realizing, hey,
- 37:34Speaker 5: we might get we might find ourselves in a lou
- 37:36Speaker 5: Garry Wally Pip situation where if we get this offensive
- 37:40Speaker 5: coordinator for a game. One, he's working for theoretically free here,
- 37:45Speaker 5: but two, we might find somebody who who could actually
- 37:47Speaker 5: put some points up against some of these power house
- 37:49Speaker 5: schools like Nebraska.
- 37:50Speaker 7: He's literally paying you to work, literally buying a season ticket.
- 37:54Speaker 6: He's paying you to work.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Yep, that's the way I like this.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Due Gotts is strong en ackery.
- 38:00Speaker 4: What are the worst and best case scenarios here? Right?
- 38:03Speaker 4: Because if I'm picked for this, I am picking a
- 38:07Speaker 4: trick play on the first play, and it's gonna end
- 38:10Speaker 4: up in a touchdown if everything works out correct.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Meaning if you're truly picking, if you have the run
- 38:15Speaker 1: of the mill, meaning it's not option A, option B,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you get to pick any play from their playbook.
- 38:20Speaker 4: I would say, hey, for any playbook. Yes, I would say, hey, coach,
- 38:23Speaker 4: what's the best trick play that could result in a
- 38:26Speaker 4: you know, a fifty or a huge game.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I purchase season tickets. I'm not asking the coach anything.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I'm just running what I want to run.
- 38:33Speaker 5: To be fair, you spend seventy five dollars, I mean.
- 38:35Speaker 3: So what that's the promotion?
- 38:37Speaker 4: I mean, and if that works out, then everybody's happy, right,
- 38:40Speaker 4: coach doesn't have to worry about the rest of the Drive.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Team's happy. What a start to our home season. Worst
- 38:46Speaker 4: case scenario, what if it's like a seventy year old
- 38:50Speaker 4: grandma who wins this opportunity and then she comes in
- 38:53Speaker 4: and she's just like, no idea what to do? Just
- 38:56Speaker 4: kind of pick and play Willy nilly. I feel like
- 38:59Speaker 4: you'd had That's why it can't be a random draw,
- 39:02Speaker 4: like it has to be somebody that has a lot
- 39:04Speaker 4: more football knowledge than somebody who's just an Akron fan.
- 39:07Speaker 1: You like to fancy yourself as someone who could call
- 39:09Speaker 1: the plays right, Yeah, call the entire game, do their
- 39:13Speaker 1: entire play, but he by the remainder of the season
- 39:16Speaker 1: tickets they have, Okay, it gives us more chances is.
- 39:19Speaker 5: He you showed me a red flag though, because you
- 39:21Speaker 5: said you want to start the game with a trick play.
- 39:24Speaker 5: If you're Robert Morris and you see you coming in
- 39:27Speaker 5: to be the offensive coordinator for the game one, If
- 39:30Speaker 5: you're Robert Morris, like this is ultimate bolton board material.
- 39:33Speaker 5: Acron is telling you you're so bad, we're going to
- 39:36Speaker 5: have somebody from Section two seventeen road w coming to
- 39:40Speaker 5: call play.
- 39:41Speaker 3: But they are that bad.
- 39:43Speaker 5: But you're giving them extra motivation.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Right. You don't want to do that to Robert Morris,
- 39:48Speaker 3: right is he?
- 39:49Speaker 5: If you're Robert Morris, Yeah, everybody knows you don't want
- 39:51Speaker 5: to give Robert Morris an extra preparharction for a week.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I mean, they're a different team when they have a
- 39:56Speaker 1: chip on their shoulder.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Everyone know what happens when you're aggressive, When you're angry
- 40:00Speaker 4: and you're aggressive, you overplay something. Oh no, ball's not
- 40:03Speaker 4: going over there. They're a dude wide open thirty yards
- 40:05Speaker 4: down the field.
- 40:06Speaker 5: But when you're bringing this guy off the street to
- 40:08Speaker 5: be the offensive coordinator, everybody's first thought is, let's start
- 40:12Speaker 5: this game with a trick play. And that's exactly what
- 40:15Speaker 5: Robert Morris is expecting. Yeah, that's why this coordinator business is.
- 40:19Speaker 5: It's chest not checkers.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Yes, I think you know. I think he's right.
- 40:21Speaker 1: No, I think a couple of full back dives just
- 40:23Speaker 1: so they think okay. Robert Morris is like, hey, nothing
- 40:27Speaker 1: much get to change here. This is what Acrod always does,
- 40:29Speaker 1: the full back dive, and then you break out the
- 40:32Speaker 1: trick plays on third down and third and long.
- 40:35Speaker 3: I'm gonta also say guys, you need to be there
- 40:36Speaker 3: on install day. It's our dad. No, that's okay.
- 40:39Speaker 9: If I'm the if I win this contest, I don't
- 40:41Speaker 9: know if I want to do a trick play right
- 40:43Speaker 9: off the bat. I wouldn't do the full back dives
- 40:45Speaker 9: because I don't want it to be one and done,
- 40:47Speaker 9: because if I score, then it's done. Like, I want
- 40:49Speaker 9: to at least call I want to get into a rhythm.
- 40:50Speaker 9: I want to call more plays. I don't want it
- 40:52Speaker 9: to just be one play and if we score a
- 40:54Speaker 9: touchdown that's it. I want to string this thing out
- 40:57Speaker 9: right to a couple of.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Five yard outs.
- 40:58Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, yeah, just chunks, you know, take you time
- 41:02Speaker 9: off the clock.
- 41:03Speaker 4: How can they see the trick play coming? If other
- 41:05Speaker 4: people are thinking differently, right, other they could say, oh, yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 4: he's probably gonna try to run it up the middle
- 41:10Speaker 4: and then give us a trick play on third now, no,
- 41:12Speaker 4: right off the bat, seventy yards touchdown and then and
- 41:16Speaker 4: then you do it to the coach and say hey,
- 41:18Speaker 4: let me get the second drive.
- 41:20Speaker 5: So Akron, I'm looking at their schedule again from last season. Yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 5: do you know how many points the Akron Zips scored
- 41:28Speaker 5: their first eight quarters? Zip zips? Zips?
- 41:33Speaker 3: Really?
- 41:33Speaker 4: So this is an audition, This is not it's not
- 41:35Speaker 4: a gimmick.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Well, it can't get worse, right, They lose week one
- 41:39Speaker 5: to Wyoming ten to nothing. Then they go on the road,
- 41:42Speaker 5: like I mentioned, to Nebraska, they lose sixty eight nothing,
- 41:45Speaker 5: and then Week three is when they get their first touchdown,
- 41:49Speaker 5: a big fourteen point quarter, you know, in an eventual
- 41:52Speaker 5: thirty one to twenty eight loss to UAB the Blazers.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I mean, this oc has to be sweating right now.
- 41:58Speaker 3: He does.
- 41:59Speaker 1: He sets such a little bar that a fast season
- 42:02Speaker 1: ticket holder could come in and exceed it and take
- 42:04Speaker 1: his jump.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Taylor do a little bit more research of those first
- 42:07Speaker 4: how many games was it until they scored or quarters?
- 42:09Speaker 5: Third game third game.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Of those two and a half games, how many trick
- 42:13Speaker 4: plays did they run? I'm gonna guess.
- 42:15Speaker 5: None of have to go back and look at it.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Take you just want to run a flea flicker.
- 42:20Speaker 4: You got to get a little bit more thoughtful than
- 42:22Speaker 4: a flee flicker. But yeah, something in that neighborhood.
- 42:25Speaker 1: There are two calls on the board. I'll get to
- 42:27Speaker 1: him in just a second. Eight seven seven ninety nine
- 42:29Speaker 1: on Fox. I know I said I would stop whatever
- 42:31Speaker 1: we're doing to talk about whatever it is you want.
- 42:33Speaker 3: To talk about. But I talking zips football right now.
- 42:37Speaker 3: I don't know. Eric, zip it up.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Eric wants to talk about Mount Rushmore Mondays, and I
- 42:43Speaker 4: feel like that's all a fan who deserves his time.
- 42:46Speaker 3: You're right, let's go to Eric. Eric, go ahead, you're
- 42:48Speaker 3: on Fox Sports Radio.
- 42:50Speaker 8: Hey guys, I really enjoyed that Mount Rushmore brick down
- 42:53Speaker 8: last week. But I had I had one add them
- 42:57Speaker 8: in one correction.
- 42:58Speaker 4: What's that was?
- 43:00Speaker 8: Sticking with the fearsome Forsome? And I would go Merlin
- 43:04Speaker 8: Olsen on Little House on the Prairie.
- 43:07Speaker 1: M I had never seen it, but okay, okay, uh,
- 43:11Speaker 1: you've been sitting on that for a while man.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the I.
- 43:15Speaker 8: Can't remember which one of you picked Terry Crews.
- 43:19Speaker 5: But you Yeah, I believe.
- 43:21Speaker 8: Yeah, Mikey Camacho for Mediocracy.
- 43:26Speaker 4: That's another good one.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you, Eric.
- 43:32Speaker 8: With theater a cool Eric.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I'd like you to call in next Monday and do
- 43:38Speaker 1: the Matt Rushmore Monday with us.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Okay, all sure, try, All right, you could be the judge. Yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 3: there you go.
- 43:45Speaker 5: We're looking for a new judge after I got robbed
- 43:47Speaker 5: last week.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I'm not looking for a new judge. I'm happy with
- 43:49Speaker 1: our John Favor. Let's go out to John. John, you're
- 43:52Speaker 1: on Fox Sports Radio.
- 43:55Speaker 8: Hi. Just a couple of points. The Scobul thing.
- 44:02Speaker 11: Being in the military, it's like one guy can ruin
- 44:06Speaker 11: a whole, you know.
- 44:07Speaker 8: Platoon or whatever.
- 44:09Speaker 11: And if they would have brought in Skobull.
- 44:12Speaker 8: To the Brewers, that could have upset the bullpen.
- 44:17Speaker 11: And they got a good team and the manager is
- 44:21Speaker 11: doing a great job bringing out people and stuff like that.
- 44:26Speaker 8: And I just think they're.
- 44:27Speaker 11: Keeping the team together because they play so well together.
- 44:33Speaker 11: And to bring in Scobel and the other thing I
- 44:36Speaker 11: wanted to talk about was miss they bring in miz
- 44:40Speaker 11: for like three or four innings, and the opposing team
- 44:46Speaker 11: has three or four innings to get used to the
- 44:48Speaker 11: Polish lightning, and then they bring in a closer who
- 44:54Speaker 11: was pitching totally different and that throws up their whole
- 44:59Speaker 11: timing and everything.
- 45:00Speaker 8: Else like that.
- 45:01Speaker 11: So just a couple of observations.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not certain this school Ball deal is going
- 45:06Speaker 1: to work out. I mean, the Dodgers have been a
- 45:08Speaker 1: disaster since they.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Acquired him, and the Tigers haven't lost since.
- 45:12Speaker 4: And now we've established that the Brewers were too good
- 45:15Speaker 4: to add Scooba because it would just mess everything up.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I understand why the Brewers wouldn't do that. There's no
- 45:20Speaker 1: point in doing that. They're not trying to win. They
- 45:22Speaker 1: might stumble into winning a World Series, but that team.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Is not trying to win.
- 45:27Speaker 1: There is no reason to trade for school bol a
- 45:30Speaker 1: two month rental, give up all those prospects, and then eventually,
- 45:33Speaker 1: when the season's over, he's going to be a Dodger
- 45:36Speaker 1: and you have no guarantee because baseball's a funny sport
- 45:38Speaker 1: of winning a World Series because.
- 45:40Speaker 3: You get them.
- 45:40Speaker 4: But what do you mean by they're not trying to win?
- 45:42Speaker 4: Because they're the exact team that I would say they're
- 45:44Speaker 4: not going to resign them, so might as well take
- 45:46Speaker 4: the rental and win a World Series.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I would say if they were trying to win, they
- 45:49Speaker 1: would have given any amount of prospects because you have
- 45:51Speaker 1: a window right now to win a World Series. To
- 45:53Speaker 1: go get Schooble and prevent him from going to the
- 45:55Speaker 1: Dodgers and bolster your staff. Then't do it because they
- 45:58Speaker 1: know they can't sign school Ball to the four hundred
- 46:01Speaker 1: million dollar contract.
- 46:02Speaker 3: He's got a command.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Once the season is over, Let's go out to Kevin
- 46:06Speaker 1: in Dayton, Ohio.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Go ahead, keV, Dude.
- 46:09Speaker 5: I gotta tell you, it's so nice to have you
- 46:11Speaker 5: back on radio. This is awesome. Thank you so so.
- 46:16Speaker 11: My thing is, if i'm offensive coordinator for the Zips
- 46:18Speaker 11: for one drive, I make sure you.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Know, even if the coach is telling me, you know,
- 46:24Speaker 4: suggesting place for.
- 46:25Speaker 5: Me as it were my my I'm in the quarterback.
- 46:28Speaker 11: You're going, dude, you're going to audible to this, this
- 46:31Speaker 11: and this.
- 46:32Speaker 5: I'm telling you, man, you got it, you got you
- 46:34Speaker 5: gotta let it rip. You want to show of throwing
- 46:37Speaker 5: your arm is go on, man, showing fifty yard pass.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Let's go there. You go.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Yeah, again his ere Wait, but he thinks you buy
- 46:45Speaker 1: season tickets and you have access to the headset.
- 46:48Speaker 5: I mean, no, I I think Kevin makes a good
- 46:51Speaker 5: point where if I'm buying season tickets for Achron, part
- 46:55Speaker 5: of in this agreement has to be I do get
- 46:57Speaker 5: to audible someplace.
- 47:00Speaker 3: You're only getting the opening drive.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I mean, the head coach is definitely wishing it's three
- 47:04Speaker 1: safe plays and it's a three.
- 47:05Speaker 3: And out right the head coach.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm in the quarterbacks. They are saying, listen, nobody,
- 47:10Speaker 4: I'm the only one who's going to get blamed here.
- 47:12Speaker 4: Just unleash it. Just do whatever you want out there.
- 47:14Speaker 4: If you ever wanted to take a deep tried, now's
- 47:17Speaker 4: the time, you think.
- 47:18Speaker 1: He tells the season ticket holder, Hey, feel free to
- 47:20Speaker 1: punt on first down.
- 47:23Speaker 5: They got a good quarterback to Reece Poffenbarger. Really, yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 5: he transferred from It's the new era of college of
- 47:30Speaker 5: college football where these guys have played everywhere.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 5: He started at Old Dominion, transferred to Albany, transferred to Miami.
- 47:37Speaker 5: Wow you twenty twenty four. I bet there was a
- 47:40Speaker 5: time when Hurricanes fans thought he was going to be
- 47:42Speaker 5: the next guy.
- 47:42Speaker 1: So when this kid graduates, is what's his answer? I mean,
- 47:46Speaker 1: where'd you go to? Like, say, Reeese Poffenbarger goes to
- 47:49Speaker 1: the NFL. Yes, and it's Sunday night football. He's starting.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Let's say he's starting for the Jets. You're getting the lineups.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Where does Reese Poff and Gardner say he went?
- 47:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a poorly phrase question by me.
- 48:01Speaker 5: Yes, I think so this is a case. He also
- 48:05Speaker 5: played at North Texas too, right, I think you just
- 48:08Speaker 5: have to list all the schools Fireese poffa Gardner, Old Dominion, Albany, Miami,
- 48:13Speaker 5: North Texas, Akron.
- 48:14Speaker 3: You don't take the best school.
- 48:15Speaker 5: I mean, I think you take the school that you
- 48:18Speaker 5: last played for.
- 48:19Speaker 9: Yeah, Dan, quick question, who's the better story twenty years
- 48:24Speaker 9: from now? The quarterback of Akron who says, guys, get this,
- 48:27Speaker 9: when I was in college, a fan picked the play,
- 48:30Speaker 9: or if you're on the defense of Robert Morris saying
- 48:33Speaker 9: we were so freaking bad, Akron had a fan pick
- 48:36Speaker 9: their place against us. I just think it's a great
- 48:39Speaker 9: Trump story to trump all stories twenty years from now.
- 48:42Speaker 4: It's definitely the latter.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Absolutely. Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Wait, So friends are sitting around and they're bragging about
- 48:48Speaker 1: how bad their college team was.
- 48:51Speaker 9: Get this, Akron made a fan designed to play against us?
- 48:56Speaker 5: What he and they scored? Yeah, Dan, if I'm on
- 49:00Speaker 5: this Robert Morris defense, Oh god, this is what I'm
- 49:03Speaker 5: taking at the grave with me.
- 49:04Speaker 3: You there never anyone.
- 49:06Speaker 5: You will never get me to admit that I was
- 49:07Speaker 5: on this Robert Morris defense.
- 49:10Speaker 6: Hey, Robert Morris, good luck researching my tendencies.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll take a
- 49:19Speaker 3: quick time out.
