- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: Hey everybody, Hi, welcome to All About the Joy.
- 0:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's really staticky.
- 0:06Rick Costa: Yeah, I'm going to disappear and then I'll be back.
- 0:08Carmen Lezeth: It's all good, I can fill the space.
- 0:10Carmen Lezeth: I will do my best While Rick is out.
- 0:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm just actually playing with this right now, because this is where we're at.
- 0:16Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia is actually not able to join us today.
- 0:19Carmen Lezeth: Unfortunately, someone in her family is in the hospital and there's an emergency situation.
- 0:27Carmen Lezeth: She's fine, her husband is fine, but there was an emergency surgery.
- 0:32Carmen Lezeth: I didn't want to ask too much, so I want to send love and prayers to her and just hope that she's going to be fine.
- 0:40Carmen Lezeth: She said she might tune in, but she's not going to tune in.
- 0:44Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to even accept her to tune in, because that'd be ridiculous, but yeah.
- 0:47Carmen Lezeth: So earlier today, restream turned around and told us that we couldn't schedule Restreams.
- 0:53Carmen Lezeth: We had to just go live right away, which makes things really difficult for us, because when we schedule it, then everybody comes on, first in the green room and then we all just kind of hang out together.
- 1:03Carmen Lezeth: So you know, this is a thing.
- 1:06Carmen Lezeth: This is how it goes here.
- 1:07Carmen Lezeth: So we're just waiting for Rick to see if he can come back, and in the meantime, I'm just going to see if I can play this video that I wanted to.
- 1:17Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 1:18Carmen Lezeth: I want to wait till Rick comes, though, because that's going to be weird.
- 1:22Carmen Lezeth: I appreciate all of you who are watching.
- 1:24Carmen Lezeth: It's so weird to just talk to myself, but it's a TikTok thing, so I'm actually really good at it.
- 1:29Carmen Lezeth: I'm trying to be really consistent with TikTok, and it's been so difficult.
- 1:38Carmen Lezeth: I think if you work 50, 60 hours a week doing social media and trying to gain that whole brand thing is a really difficult thing to do, so bravo to all of you who are doing it.
- 1:46Carmen Lezeth: I also know that everyone is doing TikTok and then transferring their videos onto Instagram, which is cool too.
- 1:53Carmen Lezeth: I haven't been able to do that because I'm just not that smart or that with it, so let me play this video, if I can.
- 2:02Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to play this piece and hopefully by then Rick will have shown up, but this was a great interview on CBS, I think, this morning or whatever and it was just really fun and cool and I thought I would share it with all of you because, at the end of the day, it really is all about the joy.
- 2:20CBS Sunday Morning: Academy Award winner Jane Fonda, who happens to be Ted Turner's former wife and good friend, turns 87 later this month.
- 2:28CBS Sunday Morning: This morning she shares secrets for aging gracefully.
- 2:33Jane Fonda: Hi, I'm Jane Fonda.
- 2:34Jane Fonda: You might know me from being Jane Fonda for the last 86 years, so I know a lot about aging well, and I'm here to tell you something very important.
- 2:43Jane Fonda: You are being robbed of seven and a half years of your life.
- 2:48Jane Fonda: I'll explain, but first let me introduce you to my friend.
- 2:51Jane Fonda: Can I say?
- 2:53CBS Sunday Morning: sorry, I have a foul mouth.
- 2:55Jane Fonda: That's Ashton Applewhite, and yeah, that is her real name.
- 2:58Jane Fonda: Yeah, it sounds made up.
- 2:59Jane Fonda: In the next few minutes, ashton and I are gonna add seven and a half years to your life.
- 3:05CBS Sunday Morning: That's a lot of time.
- 3:06CBS Sunday Morning: People with more positive age beliefs lived an average of seven and a half years longer than people who equated aging with disease and decline.
- 3:21Jane Fonda: In other words, one way to live longer is just to have a good attitude, but society is doing literally everything it can to make sure we don't have a good attitude.
- 3:29Jane Fonda: From the beauty industry, simply ageless, to what we see every day in the news.
- 3:33Jane Fonda: Questions are being raised now how old is too old to remain in office?
- 3:37Jane Fonda: Lots of people assume we'll end up in the nursing homes, when in fact, less than 3% of us do Unbelievable.
- 3:45Jane Fonda: Of course, that doesn't stop us from talking about our senior moments.
- 3:49CBS Sunday Morning: Oh, senior moment.
- 3:50CBS Sunday Morning: Young people forget things too all the time.
- 3:53CBS Sunday Morning: When I lost the car keys in high school, I didn't call it a junior moment.
- 3:57CBS Sunday Morning: We are so brainwashed to equate old age with disease and decline and badness, all that stuff will lead you to believe that getting older is terrible.
- 4:07Jane Fonda: That's not just a little insulting, it's wrong.
- 4:10CBS Sunday Morning: Come on show me the science Ashton.
- 4:11CBS Sunday Morning: People are happiest at the beginnings and the ends of their lives.
- 4:15CBS Sunday Morning: It's called the U-curve of happiness and it's been borne out by dozens of studies around the world.
- 4:20Jane Fonda: No wonder it looks like a smiley face.
- 4:22Jane Fonda: So what do we need to make that happiness curve rise?
- 4:25Jane Fonda: Do we need perfect health?
- 4:28CBS Sunday Morning: Nope.
- 4:29Jane Fonda: Money.
- 4:29CBS Sunday Morning: Nope, microdosing.
- 4:31CBS Sunday Morning: I cannot answer that with a straight face.
- 4:33CBS Sunday Morning: I give up.
- 4:34CBS Sunday Morning: It's having a solid community, the most important component of a good old age.
- 4:40Jane Fonda: I know what you're about to say.
- 4:41Jane Fonda: How do I build community if I don't already have one?
- 4:44Jane Fonda: There's a million ways to do it, but I'm going to talk about one that you can start right away, from almost anywhere.
- 4:51Jane Fonda: Wait what?
- 4:54Jane Fonda: Hey?
- 4:55Jane Fonda: Take it from me.
- 4:56Jane Fonda: It is true, Could you go back?
- 4:58Jane Fonda: Art classes are a great way to build community.
- 5:04CBS Sunday Morning: We know that being in community is good for us.
- 5:06CBS Sunday Morning: We know that having purpose is good for us, but the health benefits of being in art class in specific, it turns out, are fascinating.
- 5:13CBS Sunday Morning: A national endowment for the arts.
- 5:15Jane Fonda: Study found art classes for older adults increased mental engagement, increased physical activity.
- 5:21Jane Fonda: They found new or stronger relationships.
- 5:25CBS Sunday Morning: They visit the doctor less often, they are less likely to fall.
- 5:30CBS Sunday Morning: All this art behind me was made by older people in art classes, and I define art broadly Singing, theater, dance, flower arranging, graffiti.
- 5:40CBS Sunday Morning: Maybe I take a DJ class, wow.
- 5:44Jane Fonda: I can feel the seven and a half years coming back.
- 5:47Jane Fonda: We should reframe having a senior moment.
- 5:51Jane Fonda: A woman named Barbara Hillary was the first Black woman to reach the North Pole and she was 75 years old.
- 5:57Jane Fonda: Unbelievable Senior moment.
- 5:59Jane Fonda: So much of your life gets better as you age.
- 6:03Jane Fonda: We get less stressed, we become kinder to ourselves and braver, we're less judgmental and, best of all, we stop caring so much about what other people think of us, which, believe me, saves a lot of time.
- 6:19CBS Sunday Morning: Aging is the one universal human experience.
- 6:22CBS Sunday Morning: It is a process of growth and self-knowledge that is a joy.
- 6:27Jane Fonda: Who knows what my next seven and a half years will bring.
- 6:30Jane Fonda: I'm ready for my senior moment.
- 6:39Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that is such a great video.
- 6:41Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm sorry, rick Can you hear me.
- 6:44Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 6:45Rick Costa: Is it too loud?
- 6:45Rick Costa: Not too loud, not loud no, you're good, you're good.
- 6:48Carmen Lezeth: Hi, melanie, how are you?
- 6:49Carmen Lezeth: Hey, melanie wait, what did you?
- 6:53Carmen Lezeth: I know you only saw half of that or whatever, but I love that video so much you know what's really funny?
- 6:59Rick Costa: coincidence is so I saw somebody mention her an interview with Bill Meyer.
- 7:04Rick Costa: How do you ever say his name, how?
- 7:06Carmen Lezeth: do you not know, bill Maher Come on Bill Maher.
- 7:09Rick Costa: I couldn't remember how to say his last name, bill Maher.
- 7:10Rick Costa: Yeah, I was like I just saw an interview with him and her and I was like that's funny, quince, and I turned it on.
- 7:15Rick Costa: I was like, wait, I just watched her.
- 7:17Carmen Lezeth: But one of the reasons why I it's this idea of joy, no matter like she talks about, that, like having a positive attitude will help you live longer, and I totally believe that.
- 7:29Carmen Lezeth: But it's not even live longer, it's live better.
- 7:32Carmen Lezeth: But it's just this idea of having a better attitude about aging.
- 7:37Carmen Lezeth: And if you have a better attitude about aging, that alone will give you seven and a half more years of living.
- 7:45Carmen Lezeth: That's what the statistics say, because people always think that as they get older, they're going to fall and hurt themselves and go into a nursing home.
- 7:53Carmen Lezeth: The statistic of nursing homes it's only 3% of people who are older who end up in nursing homes.
- 8:00Carmen Lezeth: But if you had told me that before watching this video, I would have been like 95%.
- 8:05Carmen Lezeth: So it's just really, to me it was one of those things that I felt really empowered by, and I know a lot of you don't follow me on TikTok, but I'm going through this gray hair journey oh, I've talked about it here, right, because I've gotten my hair and I'm in the point right now where I really I want to color my hair again because I don't think I can do it, but I'm trying to embrace getting older and letting the grays come in and you can't see it here.
- 8:31Carmen Lezeth: It's not fair.
- 8:32Carmen Lezeth: But if you were in person you would see there's so much gray.
- 8:36Carmen Lezeth: And so I'm trying to be more positive and happy about getting older, because I don't mind the gray if it would just be all gray.
- 8:44Carmen Lezeth: But it's a weird like gray and then the rest is just weird.
- 8:48Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 8:49Rick Costa: But I just watched a podcast yesterday with Mary McDonald oh yeah and she she had her hair was really wild but very blonde, but all kinds of different kinds of blonde and the interviewer was Katie Sackhoff and she was like I love your hair.
- 9:05Rick Costa: She was getting gray and I was trying to do something different and she goes now.
- 9:09Rick Costa: You don't even really pay attention to the gray because there's so many colors in here and she's like I love it.
- 9:13Rick Costa: You look young, she's like I do.
- 9:15Carmen Lezeth: Well, that's what.
- 9:16Carmen Lezeth: So okay, so.
- 9:17Carmen Lezeth: So Molly just said who's getting older.
- 9:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm staying at 20.
- 9:19Carmen Lezeth: Girl you 29,.
- 9:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm 39.
- 9:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to stay at 39.
- 9:27Carmen Lezeth: I'm okay with 39.
- 9:28Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 9:28Carmen Lezeth: I'm just 10 years older than you.
- 9:29Carmen Lezeth: Andrea has been doing this for a long time.
- 9:30Carmen Lezeth: So when you see Andrea, she looks on screen like she has just all this blonde hair.
- 9:33Carmen Lezeth: So it was like four or five years ago where she started doing the kind of all this highlighting stuff.
- 9:40Carmen Lezeth: And I mean she's always had light brown blonde hair anyways, with highlights or whatever.
- 9:45Carmen Lezeth: But it just I was like, ooh, you're going all blonde, or whatever.
- 9:48Carmen Lezeth: She's like no, honey, I'm going all gray.
- 9:50Carmen Lezeth: And so her hair is really, it's just so beautiful, it's just, and that's what we're going with.
- 9:55Carmen Lezeth: But the problem is I have dark hair, so it's a little bit different.
- 10:00Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 10:00Carmen Lezeth: Melanie said don't hate me, I seriously do not have any gray.
- 10:03Carmen Lezeth: I hate you so much because you know why, because, why?
- 10:09Carmen Lezeth: Because you didn't have to say that, you didn't need to tell me.
- 10:11Carmen Lezeth: So you digging it in.
- 10:14Carmen Lezeth: Girl, no, I don't hate you.
- 10:16Carmen Lezeth: A lot of it is genetics.
- 10:18Rick Costa: Believe it or not, my mom was 16 when she started getting gray hairs.
- 10:21Carmen Lezeth: Oh no.
- 10:22Carmen Lezeth: I have a friend when I was growing up who lived across the way from us on saint rose street.
- 10:31Carmen Lezeth: I'll never forget it.
- 10:31Carmen Lezeth: She was going gray when we were like 14 years old.
- 10:32Carmen Lezeth: Her whole family has a lot of gray hair and they're all like white or whatever.
- 10:34Carmen Lezeth: Now, you know, I don't really talk to them that much, but they're on my facebook page.
- 10:37Rick Costa: I like what totally white?
- 10:39Carmen Lezeth: I think that looks cool I asked if I could just go platinum or something like just do the complete change right now, let's just get, and he was like it's going to damage your hair, like you can't, like you can.
- 10:49Carmen Lezeth: He's like we can cut your hair.
- 10:51Carmen Lezeth: But of course I asked all of you and your, everybody there was not one person who thought it was a good idea that I shaved my hair off, not one Cause.
- 10:59Carmen Lezeth: He was like you could do it.
- 11:00Carmen Lezeth: That way you could cut off your hair, like we could do a really cute cut, and then that will be easier because the new growth will come in, then we'll.
- 11:12Carmen Lezeth: And I'm like okay, and then all of you were mean, all of you were horrible and not at all supportive there was another.
- 11:17Rick Costa: I keep watching a lot of katie sack off.
- 11:19Rick Costa: I'm bringing her up again.
- 11:20Rick Costa: So she had trisha helfer, I think her name is.
- 11:22Rick Costa: She was a character with her on Battlestar Galactica and she's one of the Cylons and her hair was like platinum blonde, practically not white, but she's like they had to dye it because she has brown hair.
- 11:34Rick Costa: And she kept saying I think this is damaging my hair.
- 11:37Rick Costa: Can I get a wig?
- 11:39Rick Costa: This is, and they're like, oh, it's too expensive.
- 11:40Rick Costa: So then one day she said she sat down at the chair, they went to brush her hair and a ton of hair just came right off her head and she was like wig, that's it.
- 11:52Carmen Lezeth: I'm not doing this.
- 11:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I've been.
- 11:53Carmen Lezeth: I've said this on a tiktok, I've said this here before, whatever.
- 11:55Carmen Lezeth: So I'm sorry if I'm being so repetitive, but I don't know what happened to me as a child, like in this.
- 12:00Carmen Lezeth: I know you know what I mean.
- 12:02Carmen Lezeth: Like, for some reason, gray hair for me, not on other people, like I like gray hair on men, I like great.
- 12:08Carmen Lezeth: Other people can work that magic, I mean, but for some reason gray hair is the thing that knocks me to my core.
- 12:15Carmen Lezeth: Everything else I can handle, droopiness in places I never thought would be droopy, like my neck, my areas I'm like, as I'm getting older, those things don't bother me as much.
- 12:26Carmen Lezeth: And the wrinkles or whatever you deal with those, that doesn't bother me so much.
- 12:30Carmen Lezeth: But the gray hair, I don't know what it is, I don't.
- 12:34Carmen Lezeth: And I was trying to think, if I remembered my mother with gray hair, like maybe that had something.
- 12:38Carmen Lezeth: I was trying to be all deep about it, there's some therapy I need to do, but then outing, there's some therapy I need to do.
- 12:46Carmen Lezeth: But then I was like, ah, fuck it, I just don't like gray hair on me, that's all and so if I don't like gray hair, if I could do the whole thing gray now, I think that would be different.
- 12:51Carmen Lezeth: I don't like this streaks right it's not even streaks, it goes like this so it's gray right here and it's not gray hair.
- 12:59Carmen Lezeth: See, there's no, you can see it.
- 13:00Carmen Lezeth: There's no gray in this area, but it's all here and here, you can see it.
- 13:06Carmen Lezeth: You know's no gray in this area, but it's all here and here, you can see it.
- 13:08Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 13:09Carmen Lezeth: And of course so the hairdresser, because this is the first time I met him, or whatever.
- 13:12Carmen Lezeth: Michael Bechet, he's amazing, he's in Venice Beach, whatever, and he was like the back of your hair is all gray.
- 13:17Carmen Lezeth: And he took a picture.
- 13:18Carmen Lezeth: He's like it's all gray.
- 13:19Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, yeah, I don't see the back.
- 13:21Carmen Lezeth: I just know we're here.
- 13:22Carmen Lezeth: It was really funny, but I loved this video with Jane Fonda, everyone.
- 13:29Carmen Lezeth: If you weren't able to watch the whole thing, check it out.
- 13:32Carmen Lezeth: It's four minutes, it's very empowering.
- 13:35Carmen Lezeth: And the whole thing is if you have a better positive attitude about aging, it's going to add years to your life and I think, more importantly than adding years because you don't know you could hit by a bus you don't know whatever You're going to add years to your life and I think, more importantly than adding years because you don't know you could hit by a bus you don't know whatever You're going to be a happier person if you live a more positive lifestyle.
- 13:54Carmen Lezeth: I think that's the important thing.
- 13:55Carmen Lezeth: But let's rewind for a minute, rick.
- 13:56Carmen Lezeth: It's been a long time since it's just been you and me, baby.
- 13:59Rick Costa: I know, I know.
- 14:01Carmen Lezeth: How you doing I'm okay, doing okay.
- 14:04Rick Costa: Got a lovely gift on Thanksgiving that I'm actually using right this very minute.
- 14:09Carmen Lezeth: I know, do you want to tell everybody what it is?
- 14:12Rick Costa: My brother I guess as a thank you for helping mom, got me a brand new laptop.
- 14:19Carmen Lezeth: I am so happy for it Now.
- 14:20Carmen Lezeth: So I say this respectfully did you need one?
- 14:23Carmen Lezeth: It was time.
- 14:25Carmen Lezeth: Not really, not really okay, but it's always good to upgrade.
- 14:28Carmen Lezeth: If you've had it for the four years, it's good cynthia take note you know what?
- 14:33Carmen Lezeth: okay, let me tell you something.
- 14:34Carmen Lezeth: So last night, cynthia reached out to me.
- 14:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna say this.
- 14:37Carmen Lezeth: She reached out to me.
- 14:38Carmen Lezeth: She's what are you doing?
- 14:38Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I'm very busy.
- 14:39Carmen Lezeth: I wasn't.
- 14:40Carmen Lezeth: I was watching what reruns, so we got online.
- 14:44Carmen Lezeth: We got online, we got on here.
- 14:45Carmen Lezeth: We didn't go live, but she got her iPad early for Christmas.
- 14:49Carmen Lezeth: Doesn't work very well because there's a sound issue, whatever, but we were trying to figure it out.
- 14:55Carmen Lezeth: So I still think she should get a new phone, but she's resistant to that.
- 14:59Carmen Lezeth: I'm proud of her for getting the iPad, not iPad.
- 15:02Carmen Lezeth: What is it like?
- 15:02Carmen Lezeth: What is it when it's not a mac, whatever it is.
- 15:07Carmen Lezeth: Tablet, yeah, like a tablet, yeah, so are you loving the new computer?
- 15:12Carmen Lezeth: Or it's a laptop, right?
- 15:14Rick Costa: it's a laptop and a tablet and it's also a touch screen, so I forget half the time that I can just tap the screen and do whatever yeah, I know, but I don't use mine that much.
- 15:24Carmen Lezeth: Mine is.
- 15:24Carmen Lezeth: I think you have the same one that I don't know if you have the same one that I do, but I I don't use my touch screen or the laptop, the tablet do you.
- 15:33Carmen Lezeth: It's new so I haven't had a big chance yet to use it, but I mean I can see definitely coming in handy, um yeah, I think what's cool about my laptop is I can turn it and mount it like not mount, not mount it, but you can flip.
- 15:45Carmen Lezeth: I'm just going to get it.
- 15:47Carmen Lezeth: Hold on one second so you can get it right.
- 15:53Carmen Lezeth: So mine is a it's called Yoga, it's a Lenovo, okay, and you can do it like this and so I use it like this, so that you can just put it like that and then you can watch television.
- 16:04Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 16:06Carmen Lezeth: Like, you can do it that way.
- 16:07Carmen Lezeth: So I like that about it, but I don't use it like this.
- 16:09Carmen Lezeth: I don't like that, because all the keys are I don't know, I don't like it, I don't use it.
- 16:13Carmen Lezeth: So yours is this one.
- 16:15Carmen Lezeth: Right, you have this kind of same one.
- 16:17Rick Costa: It's yeah, just like that.
- 16:20Carmen Lezeth: Yes, that's the same thing, it doesn't matter.
- 16:22Carmen Lezeth: The brand doesn't matter to me.
- 16:24Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, cool.
- 16:26Carmen Lezeth: So you're excited.
- 16:28Rick Costa: It's nice and fast.
- 16:29Rick Costa: I give it that for sure.
- 16:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, how did your broadcast go today with that?
- 16:33Carmen Lezeth: Was it good?
- 16:34Rick Costa: It's fine.
- 16:35Rick Costa: Yeah, it's good.
- 16:35Rick Costa: And the one thing that's really cool too is so the mixer I use, which I'm using right now, but since the other ones have an issue now, so you know the indicator with the green and the yellow and the red, the volume, right.
- 16:46Rick Costa: With the other computer it seemed like with my when I talked it was just always jumping red.
- 16:51Rick Costa: Just keep doing it.
- 16:52Rick Costa: It was going too high like volume wise or something, constantly, even if I whatever, but this one it early where it really wasn't working that great with the other computer, but this is how it's supposed to work.
- 17:03Rick Costa: So, yeah, I'm going to send back to a replay and I'm like, yeah, sounds good.
- 17:12Carmen Lezeth: Singing sounds good.
- 17:13Carmen Lezeth: With the music, everything's good.
- 17:13Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I'm so glad that was nice of your brother.
- 17:14Carmen Lezeth: Was that a Christmas gift or just a regular gift Like?
- 17:16Rick Costa: regular gift.
- 17:16Rick Costa: He didn't say it was Christmas, but I might as well consider it Christmas.
- 17:18Carmen Lezeth: No, that's a nice gift, that's a cool gift.
- 17:20Carmen Lezeth: I like that, okay cool.
- 17:22Carmen Lezeth: What else did you do during Thanksgiving, since we didn't really get to talk because we didn't have a Thanksgiving show, and we didn't get to really talk about Thanksgiving because the broadcast we had beforehand was a little bit of a bummer.
- 17:34Carmen Lezeth: Joel had come on the show and it was just such a bad time because he had gotten all of his accounts I forget deleted or-.
- 17:41Rick Costa: Any update with that or?
- 17:42Carmen Lezeth: He still doesn't have them deleted or any update with that, or he still doesn't have them on.
- 17:49Carmen Lezeth: I know I haven't talked to joel since the show or a couple days after the show, whatever, but I think he was trying to find a positive way towards it and then be like I'm gonna post on other socials and just build that up again or whatever, and still try to fight it.
- 18:00Carmen Lezeth: It's really hard once.
- 18:01Carmen Lezeth: Once you get what's the word Not deleted off of meta, but once you get banned, once you get banned off of a social media thing, it's hard to get back on, even with all the resources available to try to get back on.
- 18:16Carmen Lezeth: It's hard because they ban your account and then if you go to appeal, you have to use the account that was banned, but you can't get the code.
- 18:24Carmen Lezeth: It's so that's what he was frustrated with, um oh, dang it, daniel.
- 18:31Rick Costa: Oh, what's the last name?
- 18:32Rick Costa: It's those four brothers that are all actors alex daniel, steven, baldwin.
- 18:36Rick Costa: Yes, I couldn't get a last name, baldwin, he was on another.
- 18:42Rick Costa: I'm super big.
- 18:43Rick Costa: If you haven't guessed already, I'm watching a lot of podcasts lately.
- 18:46Rick Costa: So he was saying that he got banned off of youtube, but he's.
- 18:51Rick Costa: Can you please explain to me what I'm banned for?
- 18:54Rick Costa: Because he goes.
- 18:54Rick Costa: Everything I used is from youtube, but you're not banning them yeah, but you can't use okay, so I'm gonna play.
- 19:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, let's back up for a minute.
- 19:04Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that whole situation is, but you can't use, okay, so I'm going to play.
- 19:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, let's back up for a minute.
- 19:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that whole situation is, but you can't use other people's content as content for yourself, completely and without talking about it.
- 19:14Rick Costa: Oh, no, he was he said I'm sorry.
- 19:16Rick Costa: He definitely was.
- 19:17Rick Costa: He used to do a podcast.
- 19:19Rick Costa: He would talk about different things and he'd show like little clips and then talk about it.
- 19:22Carmen Lezeth: So oh they different things and just show like little clips and then talk about it.
- 19:31Carmen Lezeth: So oh, they might abandon for something else.
- 19:32Carmen Lezeth: Hey, look at, I was just on tiktok and I got not banned, but they said that my something I said was wrong, so they're eliminating it.
- 19:35Carmen Lezeth: They were like you said something bad and I'm like what did I say?
- 19:38Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you don't let me see it, so I don't know what I said.
- 19:42Carmen Lezeth: The most like I got banned off a tumblr.
- 19:43Rick Costa: I don't let me see it, so I don't know what I said, what I hate the most?
- 19:45Rick Costa: Like I got banned off a Tumblr.
- 19:46Rick Costa: I don't know if anybody uses that anymore.
- 19:49Carmen Lezeth: Oh, a Tumblr is an old blog post.
- 19:51Rick Costa: It's an old one and I had that forever and ever and ever.
- 19:54Rick Costa: And three times I emailed them and said can you please tell me what I did?
- 19:59Rick Costa: At least Nothing.
- 20:11Carmen Lezeth: So with TikTok, there's more than a few times that I've said something and they're like you are going against whatever, and I'm like no one's responding to what the you can't ban me when all I'm saying is what the person said in the comments.
- 20:20Carmen Lezeth: Like if the person is saying a TikTok and they're being like blah, blah, blah and I'm like referring to that, how can you leave the content creator on but then ban my comments?
- 20:30Carmen Lezeth: I don't, and every time I've appealed those they've come back because it's computerized, it's AI, so they're just looking for words.
- 20:37Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what I said, but they banned one of my comments or whatever, and I was like whatever.
- 20:42Carmen Lezeth: But that's very different than getting banned off of meta or getting banned completely your profile, like a comment being banned, or a tiktok, like one specific video, being banned.
- 20:54Carmen Lezeth: That's different.
- 20:55Carmen Lezeth: So I don't know.
- 20:55Carmen Lezeth: I wish joel well, but I don't.
- 20:57Carmen Lezeth: I did everything I could.
- 20:58Carmen Lezeth: I sent him all my contacts that I can, but I can only do so much and unfortunately, meta is facebook instagram is Facebook Instagram Threads.
- 21:05Rick Costa: It's not just one, it's a bunch.
- 21:07Carmen Lezeth: Yep, it is.
- 21:08Rick Costa: He was definitely more psyched about Instagram.
- 21:10Rick Costa: That was the one I think he was most bummed about.
- 21:12Carmen Lezeth: I think that's a good teaching tool for us, though, to also realize you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket, and what I'm realizing is a lot of the TikTok creators who are getting big, especially creators who are getting big especially because they're not paying attention, Like so many people are not watching mainstream media anymore, so there's a lot of these content creators.
- 21:30Carmen Lezeth: They're now going to YouTube as their main source and then going out to Instagram and TikTok.
- 21:36Carmen Lezeth: So it's an interesting thing.
- 21:37Carmen Lezeth: I just it's a lot of work.
- 21:39Carmen Lezeth: I look at for two weeks since Thanksgiving to write.
- 21:43Carmen Lezeth: I have not posted anything and I use a third-party platform, so I sit and I create all the little snippets when you see the little video things or whatever and then I schedule them.
- 21:56Carmen Lezeth: It's a lot of work.
- 22:00Carmen Lezeth: So people that are doing live ones, like they're reacting to what's happening, that's a lot.
- 22:04Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how.
- 22:06Carmen Lezeth: You have a job.
- 22:07Carmen Lezeth: That has to be your job, and that's what a lot of them are.
- 22:09Carmen Lezeth: They're content creators.
- 22:10Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, and I don't know.
- 22:12Carmen Lezeth: I'll be honest with you.
- 22:14Carmen Lezeth: I've been thinking about this a lot.
- 22:15Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if that's something I'd even want to do, to be like every day being on TikTok and Instagram and reacting to something or saying something, but there's money to be made.
- 22:27Rick Costa: Yeah, I've been following these kind of a group of different guys and they broadcast together a lot and they all have their own thing and they're literally on almost every single day and they'll have five, six, seven, eight people all on the screen and those types of videos seem to be getting popular.
- 22:42Rick Costa: And they're not short videos either, they're very long.
- 22:45Carmen Lezeth: Well, I mean, I told you one of the things I want to do.
- 22:47Carmen Lezeth: You and I are going to do like a Tik TOK together.
- 22:49Carmen Lezeth: We're going to do like a Tik TOK live or whatever at some point, and I think what would be great for me.
- 22:53Carmen Lezeth: What I would love to do is have another show during the week.
- 22:56Carmen Lezeth: If we could have three shows a week.
- 22:57Carmen Lezeth: I think that would be cool.
- 23:00Carmen Lezeth: With my job and your job it's just hard.
- 23:02Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 23:03Carmen Lezeth: Like I need to get some money.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: You know.
- 23:07Carmen Lezeth: We all I think everyone would be doing things they want to be doing if they had a bulk of money to spend doing it.
- 23:14Carmen Lezeth: I think that's the thing about wealth that's really hard to grasp is when you're born into wealth or you have an amount of money to expend and you can fail with that money, for example, like an Elon Musk.
- 23:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to get political, but the thing about being someone who is wealthy is you can throw everything at the wall and if things fail, okay, they fail, but you're not going to lose your apartment, you're not going to lose your car, you don't have to pay your car payment every month or your insurance, because it's just extra money you have.
- 23:48Carmen Lezeth: So if you fail, it's fine and nobody is paying attention.
- 23:51Carmen Lezeth: If I fail, I'm living at Andrea's house or your house.
- 23:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm like, hey, rick, I lost my home.
- 24:00Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 24:01Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean and I think that's what's interesting is not understanding that when we see people succeed who come from wealth or come from a space of privilege meaning they have a bulk of money somewhere whether they made it or not doesn't matter Like not everyone gets those lucky moments where they get somebody who gives them a loan, gives them.
- 24:22Carmen Lezeth: If somebody wanted to give me a $200,000 loan, I'm telling you right now, in one year this place would be on fire, and I think that's the hard part.
- 24:33Carmen Lezeth: I think you, if you didn't have to work and you had $200,000 a year at your disposal, what would I know?
- 24:42Carmen Lezeth: Right off the bat, you would hire someone in house to help with your mom and you'd be on fire with your broadcast.
- 24:48Carmen Lezeth: Like in a whole different level, you'd have a marketing person would go crazy right and and here's the thing I'm not trying to say that money makes the world go round, but money matters so there's actually a Bible verse that says money solves most problems.
- 25:07Carmen Lezeth: Well, I don't know if I believe all that but you know what I mean.
- 25:11Carmen Lezeth: Because, again, we go back to my clients who have a lot of money and I wouldn't trade my life for theirs because they're miserable.
- 25:18Carmen Lezeth: I think you can be wealthy and joyful I'm not trying to say that and be wealthy and joyful.
- 25:21Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to say that.
- 25:23Carmen Lezeth: But most people who have a lot of money that I, in my experience in my 30 years of working with people, I've not seen I wouldn't trade my life for theirs at all.
- 25:35Carmen Lezeth: That doesn't mean I don't want a lottery win.
- 25:37Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 25:40Carmen Lezeth: It doesn't mean I'm not hoping, and I play once in a while.
- 25:44Carmen Lezeth: But you had a good Thanksgiving yeah.
- 25:46Rick Costa: Last night, though, I had a little surprise.
- 25:48Rick Costa: I got up and looked out the window and I was like no, it was snow on the ground.
- 25:55Rick Costa: I was like.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm not sure.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm from Connecticut.
- 25:57Carmen Lezeth: I ain't even feeling bad for you.
- 25:58Carmen Lezeth: That cannot be a surprise, you live on the East Coast.
- 26:02Rick Costa: Yeah, but for the last few years it almost hasn't snowed till like January, so I was like early December.
- 26:07Carmen Lezeth: That's not a surprise, that's just you being in denial of where you live.
- 26:10Carmen Lezeth: Okay, all right, here's my question.
- 26:12Carmen Lezeth: Did you listen to Kendrick Lamar's latest album, or the song Luther?
- 26:19Carmen Lezeth: How could you not?
- 26:22Carmen Lezeth: I posted it on my Facebook page.
- 26:24Carmen Lezeth: How could you not?
- 26:25Carmen Lezeth: I posted on my facebook page how could you not see?
- 26:26Rick Costa: I don't really look at facebook a whole lot, to be honest oh, okay, I'm very disappointed.
- 26:30Carmen Lezeth: You all right, we're going to listen to a little part of it, because this will tell me if you're okay, here's why.
- 26:35Carmen Lezeth: Here's why first of all, it's an amazing song.
- 26:39Carmen Lezeth: You may not like it, but and you don't have to like rap you don't have to like rap or hip-hop or anything, but if you don't understand the first 35, 40 seconds, which is all I can play, then you're not really gen x.
- 26:51Carmen Lezeth: That's how I feel about now.
- 26:53Carmen Lezeth: I I will say this I played it for cynthia and she was like yeah, that's all right.
- 26:59Carmen Lezeth: She was all like and you might feel the same way, but I, I just feel like I need to play this.
- 27:05Carmen Lezeth: Okay, let's see if I can do it.
- 27:06Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know if I can do it.
- 27:08Rick Costa: You don't get in copyright trouble.
- 27:10Carmen Lezeth: No, you can do snippets.
- 27:12Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing about people need to understand.
- 27:14Carmen Lezeth: You can do snippets and do an analysis.
- 27:16Carmen Lezeth: What you can't do is play the entire song or use it as a thing in your show to promote your show, like I can't make the beginning.
- 27:23Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean Kendrick Lamar show, but who knows, maybe they'll ban me, I don't know.
- 27:27Carmen Lezeth: It's all right, we're just going with the flow here, but that's my understanding.
- 27:31Carmen Lezeth: That's why you can see so many people using songs and they're talking about it.
- 27:34Carmen Lezeth: I think the thing that Tony does that's interesting is that he plays songs from beginning to end and he's acting like a DJ and without a license or whatever to do that.
- 27:45Carmen Lezeth: And because there's a lot of people on TikTok who are DJs, like they do live streaming, whatever, but you have to have a license, you have to have permission to do it and that's a whole different ballgame.
- 27:57Carmen Lezeth: But you see a lot of people doing snippets.
- 27:59Carmen Lezeth: You can do a certain amount of time and then you can talk about it as an analysis.
- 28:03Carmen Lezeth: You're not stealing their work to use it as your own.
- 28:07Carmen Lezeth: I think that's really different.
- 28:09Carmen Lezeth: Although we will see If this show does not show up on YouTube, you'll know it was banned.
- 28:16Rick Costa: You cannot be monetized.
- 28:18Rick Costa: I'm like we ain't monetized anyway, ain't worried about it.
- 28:22Carmen Lezeth: Are you giving me some money?
- 28:23Carmen Lezeth: Then I will follow your rules, bitch.
- 28:26Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm just kidding.
- 28:27Carmen Lezeth: Look, all we need is 30 seconds of the song.
- 28:29Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny because I just did that one so brilliantly and I forgot how I did it.
- 28:35Carmen Lezeth: Weren't you impressed by how I did that?
- 28:37Carmen Lezeth: I?
- 28:38Rick Costa: came out and I was like oh, we're playing a video.
- 28:40Carmen Lezeth: Look Carmen's on point, can you see it?
- 28:43Carmen Lezeth: Yep, all right, just 30 seconds.
- 28:46Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm going to stop it right there because I don't want to get banned, but do you get it?
- 29:10Rick Costa: you get the feeling yeah, something not to be critical.
- 29:13Rick Costa: It sounds like a lot of auto tuning there well, kendrick lamar okay that's what it sounds like I can no, sweetie.
- 29:21Carmen Lezeth: Okay, first of all, do you know who kendrick lamar is?
- 29:24Carmen Lezeth: I don't know okay you're missing the whole point.
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: You don't know.
- 29:28Rick Costa: That's luther vandross or was that in the beginning?
- 29:31Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, okay, you would say that, okay, everyone, you're missing the point.
- 29:38Carmen Lezeth: That's not auto-tune and Kendrick Lamar, just so you know and I'm a defendant for a moment and I'm not a big hip hop rap person, I'm not.
- 29:46Carmen Lezeth: I do love Tupac and Biggie and Back in the Day and that whole kind of thing, but Kendrick Lamar won a Pulitzer because he's such a lyricist, right, he is an amazing.
- 29:56Carmen Lezeth: He's poetic the way in which he but that song that he's using as a sample and that's the way you sample children.
- 30:04Carmen Lezeth: If you don't know how to sample a song, that's how you sample.
- 30:08Carmen Lezeth: That's Luther Vandross.
- 30:09Carmen Lezeth: I didn't catch that.
- 30:10Carmen Lezeth: That's Luther Vandross.
- 30:11Carmen Lezeth: I didn't catch that.
- 30:12Carmen Lezeth: Okay, you and Cynthia are like the only people.
- 30:16Carmen Lezeth: So I have a client who he's older or whatever, but he's always in the know.
- 30:23Carmen Lezeth: So I was like, hey, did you hear Kendrick Lamar's latest album?
- 30:25Carmen Lezeth: He's no, I didn't.
- 30:26Carmen Lezeth: I was like, oh, let me play it for you.
- 30:27Carmen Lezeth: And he was like, oh my God, it was so good.
- 30:31Carmen Lezeth: So SZA shows up as well.
- 30:36Carmen Lezeth: I don't think you're really gen x.
- 30:37Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry.
- 30:38Carmen Lezeth: This isn't about rap or hip-hop either.
- 30:39Carmen Lezeth: This is about just, you don't know.
- 30:42Carmen Lezeth: Do you know who?
- 30:42Carmen Lezeth: Luther?
- 30:44Carmen Lezeth: hey ted why are you writing lufa ted vandross?
- 30:48Rick Costa: lufa vandross.
- 30:50Rick Costa: People say that, people say that hey, I'm looking for a chair is still a chair yeah, I'm looking for that.
- 30:57Carmen Lezeth: You didn't even get it.
- 30:58Rick Costa: Man, I can't believe you said kendrick, and I wasn't thinking anybody else but you okay, auto-tune, girl.
- 31:05Carmen Lezeth: I am saying, girl, what is wrong with you?
- 31:08Carmen Lezeth: Like kendrick, that's like saying whitney houston was using auto-tune.
- 31:13Carmen Lezeth: For you to understand that's like.
- 31:15Rick Costa: You can use auto-tune and be a good singer.
- 31:18Rick Costa: Auto-tune does not mean I'm such a bad singer I have to use auto-tune.
- 31:21Carmen Lezeth: You can use auto-tune here's the thing auto-tune, that was a diss.
- 31:25Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying that was a diss.
- 31:26Carmen Lezeth: Auto-tune is for people who say they can sing but don't really can sing and they need the echoing and all that shit in the background.
- 31:33Carmen Lezeth: Whitney Houston never needed auto-tune.
- 31:35Carmen Lezeth: Now did they use it at times?
- 31:37Carmen Lezeth: That's different.
- 31:38Carmen Lezeth: That's a whole different thing.
- 31:38Carmen Lezeth: But there are people who can actually sing Lufa.
- 31:43Carmen Lezeth: I don't understand the Lufa thing.
- 31:45Rick Costa: People say that to be funny.
- 31:46Rick Costa: Lufa Vandross, it's just a funny thing, people say oh okay.
- 31:49Carmen Lezeth: Funny thing, people say, oh okay.
- 31:50Carmen Lezeth: I'm like let me just tell you I okay.
- 31:54Carmen Lezeth: So here, I'm not trying to be mean to you, but I'm like I think this is a good test of whether or not you're really Gen X.
- 31:58Carmen Lezeth: I'm just kidding you are Gen X, right?
- 32:02Carmen Lezeth: I'm 54.
- 32:04Rick Costa: I'll be 55 next month.
- 32:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I know, and I messed up your birthday, didn't I?
- 32:09Carmen Lezeth: No, you didn't?
- 32:10Rick Costa: I don't really do nothing on my birthday, so no, that's good actually.
- 32:14Carmen Lezeth: So we're going to celebrate your birthday the week before and the week after, and Cynthia and I already discussed it.
- 32:18Carmen Lezeth: We'll sing to you on that birthday on that day.
- 32:22Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, we're going to have a, so we were supposed to have.
- 32:24Carmen Lezeth: I'm glad we didn't do it.
- 32:25Carmen Lezeth: We're supposed to have a guest today, christy Holt.
- 32:28Carmen Lezeth: She's going to come on the show.
- 32:29Carmen Lezeth: She's interesting person and we're going to have her on the show.
- 32:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to talk about what she does and she does a lot of relationship coaching stuff and I'm going to find it just fascinating.
- 32:40Carmen Lezeth: That's all I want to say.
- 32:46Carmen Lezeth: But we had to move her from today because I realized it was just too much time between when Joel was on and we didn't get to talk about, like Thanksgiving or whatever, and then we didn't have a show last week and I was like we can't have somebody a new guest, on the show this week.
- 33:01Carmen Lezeth: It was just not cool, you know.
- 33:02Carmen Lezeth: All right, here's what I want to.
- 33:03Carmen Lezeth: I have some announcements to make too.
- 33:04Carmen Lezeth: So, yes, there was an earthquake today.
- 33:05Carmen Lezeth: It was a 7.0 earthquake in california.
- 33:08Carmen Lezeth: I know you say you love me, but you were one of the people who did not send me a tip.
- 33:12Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know.
- 33:13Rick Costa: I'm just saying, if you were in the know, you say you love me, but you were one of the people who did not send me a text.
- 33:15Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know.
- 33:15Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying if you were in the know you would have alerts.
- 33:18Carmen Lezeth: I'm kidding, it's OK.
- 33:19Carmen Lezeth: So here's the thing.
- 33:21Carmen Lezeth: It wasn't here in Southern California.
- 33:23Carmen Lezeth: So I appreciate everyone who texted me today.
- 33:25Carmen Lezeth: Laura Wall texted me.
- 33:26Carmen Lezeth: A lot of people sent me a text.
- 33:29Carmen Lezeth: I just want to give you guys a heads up of something.
- 33:32Carmen Lezeth: Sent me a text.
- 33:34Carmen Lezeth: I just want to give you guys a heads up of something.
- 33:36Carmen Lezeth: Northern California and it did happen in Northern California is like seven hours from me.
- 33:38Carmen Lezeth: So California is very big.
- 33:41Carmen Lezeth: So when they say there's an earthquake and again I don't mind if you text me or whatever it was just funny because at one point there must've been some newsflash, because they got 15 text messages at the same time about the same thing.
- 33:52Carmen Lezeth: It was weird.
- 33:55Rick Costa: You might as well say it was an earthquake in the United States.
- 34:01Carmen Lezeth: Is Carmen.
- 34:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but it was a 7.0.
- 34:05Carmen Lezeth: Let me tell you something 7.0 is for real.
- 34:07Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's a big one, that's huge, that's off the scale.
- 34:08Rick Costa: I have not been.
- 34:08Rick Costa: God bless, Please, Lord don't Please.
- 34:09Carmen Lezeth: That's huge.
- 34:10Carmen Lezeth: That's off the scale.
- 34:11Carmen Lezeth: I have not been.
- 34:12Carmen Lezeth: God bless, please, lord don't please.
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: I'm serious.
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to be in a 7.0 earthquake, but there was also a tsunami warning and I think that's what everyone was concerned about.
- 34:26Carmen Lezeth: Much love to people in Northern California.
- 34:27Carmen Lezeth: It's above the San Francisco area, near Oregon, but it wasn't me.
- 34:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm good.
- 34:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm good, I'm fine.
- 34:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm in Southern California, I'm in Los Angeles, santa Monica, if you hear anything about Malibu or the Palisades.
- 34:42Carmen Lezeth: And here's the thing If you send me a text I was thinking about this today If you send me a text and I'm in an earthquake, I'm probably not going to text you back.
- 34:52Rick Costa: You know what Darcy's in oregon I want?
- 34:55Rick Costa: Do you still there?
- 34:57Carmen Lezeth: darcy, did you feel it?
- 34:57Rick Costa: oh yeah, oh is darcy in oregon she's like really close to washington state, so she's way up more north maybe.
- 35:04Carmen Lezeth: Yeah I did not know that.
- 35:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, maybe she.
- 35:08Carmen Lezeth: She was on here, so maybe she's okay.
- 35:09Carmen Lezeth: Hopefully she's okay.
- 35:11Carmen Lezeth: You know she didn't write anything like a big populated area I didn't see anything about it because I was at work and I was texting people.
- 35:19Carmen Lezeth: I was copying and pasting, I'm fine.
- 35:22Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for asking.
- 35:22Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 35:23Carmen Lezeth: Like, I just I did look at.
- 35:25Carmen Lezeth: I am grateful and blessed that so many people were worried.
- 35:28Carmen Lezeth: That's not what I'm saying, but it was northern california which I think people was no, people who've never been to California and don't know Right, california is huge people.
- 35:39Carmen Lezeth: It's very big and it is six to seven hours for me to get to San Francisco.
- 35:45Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 35:46Carmen Lezeth: Like it's not so something.
- 35:48Carmen Lezeth: So if there are wildfires and they're happening in five hours for me, they're not really affecting me.
- 35:54Rick Costa: Do you know how long it would take to drive from the northern part to the very southern part?
- 35:58Carmen Lezeth: No, but I have done the trip from no, because that would be like San Diego.
- 36:02Carmen Lezeth: So for me where I am in Los Angeles, to San Diego it's about two hours.
- 36:07Carmen Lezeth: If I were to go to Mexico, like if I would go to the border of Mexico, it would be like two hours, Two hours, 20 minutes, something like that.
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: I have done the drive many times because it is the most beautiful, exquisite drive to go from here, from where I live in Los Angeles, to San Francisco or to like Midway Carmel or to Santa Barbara or Santa Barbara Spurs.
- 36:29Carmen Lezeth: So Santa Barbara Carmel, like just gorgeous, and it's all along the beach.
- 36:33Carmen Lezeth: You just go PCH Route 1.
- 36:36Carmen Lezeth: It's just beautiful and that took about.
- 36:39Carmen Lezeth: I think it was about five hours, four or five hours and I've done that multiple times with friends, with friends.
- 36:47Carmen Lezeth: So going on vacation or whatever and just going to hang out, it's just beautiful.
- 36:52Carmen Lezeth: It's a beautiful drive if you ever come to Los Angeles, because it's all against the beach, yeah.
- 36:56Rick Costa: Yeah, my little state.
- 36:57Rick Costa: I think if you were to go end-to-end, it's not even two hours, I don't think.
- 37:01Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, connecticut.
- 37:02Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what to say about Connecticut Small.
- 37:04Carmen Lezeth: Have you been out?
- 37:06Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I say this respectfully, have you been outside?
- 37:08Carmen Lezeth: Obviously?
- 37:10Rick Costa: new york because we're right next to it, been in massachusetts, been to the city, of course, okay, but okay, between new york and massachusetts, which one's better?
- 37:20Rick Costa: Well, it depends, because we're talking about the city a whole different animal.
- 37:27Carmen Lezeth: Massachusetts is the answer.
- 37:29Rick Costa: Massachusetts we used to go to fall river, which is that called portuguese city, which is in massachusetts, for those that don't know, yeah, and it was.
- 37:37Rick Costa: It is so portuguese there that I remember we went into a couple stores and they didn't speak english.
- 37:44Rick Costa: You had to speak portuguese.
- 37:45Rick Costa: I'm like right, are you serious?
- 37:47Rick Costa: I mean, this is super portuguese.
- 37:49Rick Costa: I was like wow.
- 37:49Rick Costa: But yeah, no, I love massachusetts too yeah, I'm kidding.
- 37:53Carmen Lezeth: So there is a rivalry between Massachusetts and New York.
- 37:56Carmen Lezeth: Like I told you before, like when you're born in Massachusetts, you just hate New York to your core.
- 38:01Carmen Lezeth: Because it's all about the sports teams, right?
- 38:03Carmen Lezeth: It's all about the Lakers, oh, that's Los Angeles Celtics and the Knicks.
- 38:08Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'm California now, so I can't even.
- 38:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm all confused, just all of it.
- 38:14Carmen Lezeth: So I'm kidding.
- 38:16Carmen Lezeth: I love New York, but I would never live in New York.
- 38:19Carmen Lezeth: I could see myself living in Massachusetts again.
- 38:21Carmen Lezeth: I wouldn't, but I could Like if I had to for some reason.
- 38:25Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, I can't put that out in the universe, because it'll happen.
- 38:28Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God.
- 38:30Carmen Lezeth: No, I want to live in spain or portugal.
- 38:36Rick Costa: I want to live in portugal I was just watching some videos of where my parents come from azores and people americans were like taking you to tours and stuff, and I was like this is so beautiful, my gosh, it's so beautiful.
- 38:48Rick Costa: They're like and if you ever think you're not gonna have nothing to do, trust me, there's so much to see and do and it was beautiful.
- 38:55Carmen Lezeth: So Andrea's mom just came back from.
- 38:58Carmen Lezeth: She went on a trip and she went to Spain and Portugal and she told Andrea that if you're going to move somewhere, it's to move to Portugal, not Spain.
- 39:05Carmen Lezeth: And my intention would be to move to Spain because I know the language In Portuguese.
- 39:10Carmen Lezeth: Even though I can make some words out, it's like Italian.
- 39:13Carmen Lezeth: I could probably get by, but it's not the same.
- 39:16Rick Costa: There's a lot more English people now.
- 39:17Rick Costa: Not English, but English people.
- 39:19Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, of course, but you know, I mean that's in every country across the pond, right, we're the only country that doesn't know several languages.
- 39:28Carmen Lezeth: Seriously, people in Europe know three or four different languages.
- 39:32Rick Costa: It's us people in europe know three or four different languages.
- 39:37Rick Costa: It's it's not that's me off so bad.
- 39:38Rick Costa: When you see these and they're usually racist people you're like you're in america, speak english.
- 39:41Rick Costa: I'm like, no, you're trying to make it sound like they're dumb.
- 39:45Rick Costa: They're smarter than you because they actually do know more than one language.
- 39:49Carmen Lezeth: Dummy yeah, I don't know what that's about.
- 39:52Carmen Lezeth: I feel like there's a weird understanding of what patriotic kind of love for your country is, and this whole idea that you need to be able to speak English and that's the only language you should know and if you don't know that somehow you're bad, is a weird ism.
- 40:11Carmen Lezeth: I've always been enthralled by the idea.
- 40:14Carmen Lezeth: I do speak two languages and I can get by with Italian, but I speak Spanish fluently and I understand it better than I speak it.
- 40:21Carmen Lezeth: But people who speak multiple languages in this country have a leg up because they can communicate with so many different people.
- 40:31Rick Costa: Helps you get jobs too.
- 40:32Rick Costa: Like, oh, you also speak another language, but some types of jobs, like everybody always says, please put that on your resume.
- 40:39Rick Costa: If you don't want to speak another language, that will definitely help you.
- 40:41Rick Costa: If you're going to learn a language, why wouldn't you want Spanish?
- 40:44Rick Costa: Because there's so many Spanish people here, compared to French.
- 40:48Rick Costa: I want to learn French.
- 40:49Rick Costa: I'm like okay, but is that going to be really useful?
- 40:53Carmen Lezeth: I think the problem.
- 40:54Carmen Lezeth: And then we get into this little bit of politics thing.
- 40:56Carmen Lezeth: I think people have a different idea, or a negative idea, of people who speak Spanish or from Latin countries, because they associate everything with immigration and the border and somehow that has been made the boogeyman of things, and it's a shame, because the beauty of this country, as with your family, is just that we are all.
- 41:19Carmen Lezeth: We've all come here, unless you are someone who is indigenous to this country.
- 41:24Carmen Lezeth: We've all come here.
- 41:26Carmen Lezeth: I don't care how far you go back, and we've brought our culture here right.
- 41:31Carmen Lezeth: The Irish came here, italians came here, italians came here, portuguese came here, people from Poland, cubans are here.
- 41:40Carmen Lezeth: Puerto Ricans are United States citizens, so I hope you all understand that.
- 41:45Carmen Lezeth: But people from Mexico have come here, honduras, any parts of America, el Salvador, like Haitian people, and it's Asian people, can we not?
- 41:57Carmen Lezeth: I have to make sure that we throw in people from all the different beautiful countries.
- 42:03Carmen Lezeth: I mean Korea, japanese.
- 42:05Carmen Lezeth: We have so many different cultures, but I think we squander it because we want to keep believing in a weird purity that isn't really sustainable in the world and it's also boring.
- 42:20Carmen Lezeth: We can all be Americans, but with the flavor.
- 42:24Carmen Lezeth: That's what makes us fantastic.
- 42:27Rick Costa: I've always said that Everybody with this name.
- 42:29Rick Costa: How boring would this world be, so boring?
- 42:31Rick Costa: I saw a really funny video of this.
- 42:33Rick Costa: This was two people jogging.
- 42:34Rick Costa: It was a white guy and clearly an Asian lady and he stopped.
- 42:38Rick Costa: They were resting, whatever, and they don't know each other.
- 42:40Rick Costa: And he's like where are you from?
- 42:42Rick Costa: From San Francisco, yeah, but before that, I was born in San Francisco.
- 42:49Rick Costa: That's awesome.
- 42:49Rick Costa: But before that, before I was born, my great-grandmother's from Korea.
- 42:56Rick Costa: I knew I thought it was Japan or Korea.
- 42:58Rick Costa: Oh, okay, what about you?
- 42:59Rick Costa: Where are you from?
- 43:00Rick Costa: He goes oh, I was born here too.
- 43:02Rick Costa: What about going back?
- 43:03Rick Costa: We had some British people.
- 43:05Rick Costa: Oh, really, you had some British people, really.
- 43:08Rick Costa: And she totally made fun of him talking in British.
- 43:10Rick Costa: It was hilarious.
- 43:12Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny too, because sometimes when you ask people, they'll just say oh no, I'm just American, I'm just I'm white, I'm white.
- 43:18Carmen Lezeth: You'll hear that, and it's no, you have a lineage too.
- 43:22Carmen Lezeth: Maybe you're Scottish or Polish or Irish or like, well, we're British.
- 43:26Carmen Lezeth: Whatever it is, you bring a whole other culture with you, you know, and I think that's kind of the sad thing about how divided our country is.
- 43:36Carmen Lezeth: I do think we would be a better country if we all did know Spanish.
- 43:40Carmen Lezeth: It would be a fantastic thing.
- 43:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm always sad because when I talk to friends or my clients I'm not going to call them friends but clients, because my clients have homes and business in other countries or whatever.
- 43:52Carmen Lezeth: All of those people speak multiple languages.
- 43:55Carmen Lezeth: They all speak two or three different languages.
- 43:58Carmen Lezeth: So it's kind of sad.
- 44:01Rick Costa: What it would be the most useful here.
- 44:02Rick Costa: I mean besides English here, because there's so many.
- 44:05Rick Costa: Hello, pick up the phone.
- 44:06Rick Costa: Para español obrimados.
- 44:09Carmen Lezeth: Or it would just make us.
- 44:10Carmen Lezeth: Just when we know more, we're just better human beings, like, I know what you're saying, but I think people innately in this country tend to be very standoffish about people that they believe are from other cultures, and so when you talk about the other language, they turn away from that, as opposed to seeing the beauty in that right, because somehow it's not American to speak Spanish or it's not American to speak whatever it is.
- 44:41Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what the right, I don't know what to use, like Italian or something.
- 44:45Carmen Lezeth: It's not right to do that.
- 44:46Carmen Lezeth: You have to be somebody who only speaks English.
- 44:50Carmen Lezeth: You know, melanie said I remember a little Spanish from high school who only speaks English.
- 44:52Carmen Lezeth: You know, melanie said I remember a little Spanish from high school oh, ¿quieres hablar conmigo un poquito, por favor?
- 45:01Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, I think if we could all speak different languages it would be great.
- 45:04Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of an embarrassing thing, but you know what?
- 45:06Carmen Lezeth: I found out something over the weekend and I was so sad.
- 45:12Carmen Lezeth: 50% of people in the United States do not read above an eighth grade level.
- 45:18Carmen Lezeth: I was shook by this.
- 45:21Carmen Lezeth: I did not know this, and this is not like some hokey person or whatever.
- 45:25Carmen Lezeth: This is like a standard thing.
- 45:28Rick Costa: I remember hearing like they try to keep it fifth or sixth grade level.
- 45:34Carmen Lezeth: Look, I did a test because I was so freaked out by this I was like, maybe I only read on the so I did a test online.
- 45:42Carmen Lezeth: No, I did.
- 45:43Carmen Lezeth: I wanted to do a test online.
- 45:45Carmen Lezeth: Hold on a second.
- 45:45Carmen Lezeth: Oh, cynthia.
- 45:46Carmen Lezeth: Okay, cynthia's letting us know what's going on, so let me just give you guys the update.
- 45:50Carmen Lezeth: He is okay, the surgery went well and he is recovering, but we'll be in the hospital for a bit.
- 45:56Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm just going to send her a little heart emoji because she knows we're online right now.
- 46:00Carmen Lezeth: So if all of you can keep her in your prayers or if you're not a religious person, you don't pray, you just keep her in your thoughts.
- 46:08Carmen Lezeth: Let's give good thoughts to her family.
- 46:12Carmen Lezeth: Anything that is kind of out of the norm.
- 46:14Carmen Lezeth: My friend, johnny Torres, died right before Thanksgiving.
- 46:19Carmen Lezeth: I think you knew that, rick, because you saw it on my Facebook page.
- 46:22Carmen Lezeth: He was one of my castmates very young, and it kind of threw me for a bit.
- 46:27Carmen Lezeth: It threw me for a bit and I don't want to be that person that when someone passes away, that's when we get it together or whatever, but it really made me.
- 46:36Carmen Lezeth: Take a moment and try to just be grateful in this, where we're at.
- 46:41Carmen Lezeth: Where we're at, yeah, so we can keep him in your thoughts, and also my friend Johnny Torres, his family, who is dealing with a lot during this holiday season, and it was unexpected.
- 46:51Rick Costa: It was.
- 46:51Rick Costa: It always sucks worse when it's near holiday, really you know what?
- 46:59Carmen Lezeth: I think?
- 46:59Carmen Lezeth: You're absolutely right.
- 47:00Carmen Lezeth: I think it's never an okay time to have someone die young like an unexpected.
- 47:05Rick Costa: But it does make it a little bit harder during the holiday season, especially when it's unexpected, you know because I've talked to so many people that you know the dear loved one died like before, on or right after Christmas.
- 47:20Rick Costa: And they're like now when I think of you.
- 47:22Rick Costa: Know Christmas was always joyful but by now it's a sad thing and I'm like thanks.
- 47:28Carmen Lezeth: I think it's a process.
- 47:29Carmen Lezeth: Somebody asked me how do you get through loss?
- 47:33Carmen Lezeth: Because people think that because I lost my mother at such a young age that I would have some, and I totally get that I would have some idea.
- 47:41Carmen Lezeth: And the truth is you don't ever get over it.
- 47:43Carmen Lezeth: Like you don't.
- 47:44Carmen Lezeth: And I understand what time heals all wounds was meant to say, but it's not actually true.
- 47:50Carmen Lezeth: Time doesn't heal the wound, it just makes you look at it from a different perspective.
- 47:56Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 47:57Carmen Lezeth: Like you can find different ways to deal with it as you grow older.
- 48:02Carmen Lezeth: But I hate to admit it, but I was 11 and a half, so it's been a very long time.
- 48:08Carmen Lezeth: And you know what.
- 48:09Carmen Lezeth: Her birthday still hits me hard Mother's Day.
- 48:13Carmen Lezeth: The irony of ironies Mother's Day doesn't hit me as hard, but Father's Day does.
- 48:18Carmen Lezeth: I've never had a father.
- 48:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't know why.
- 48:20Carmen Lezeth: It's just I start thinking about my mom or whatever, and how alone she was and she was like the mother and the father.
- 48:25Carmen Lezeth: I go down that rabbit hole, you know.
- 48:27Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, interesting.
- 48:30Rick Costa: Anyways, I don't want't know what would you do if, all of a sudden, you got an email saying carmen, this is your father oh, that's an interesting call, rick.
- 48:44Carmen Lezeth: We did not have that on our outline, for actually I've thought about this a lot.
- 48:51Carmen Lezeth: Um, I don't think I had an email.
- 48:54Carmen Lezeth: I would just think it was fraud.
- 48:55Carmen Lezeth: So let's just say I got a certified letter from a lawyer saying that they were like those dna things.
- 49:02Carmen Lezeth: They can write you through there and then I have all, I've done all the dna stuff on ancestry and 23 and me.
- 49:08Carmen Lezeth: So it hasn't happened yet, but I've thought about it.
- 49:10Carmen Lezeth: But let's just say I got something official from a law office and okay, so I, so I can answer this question, I I always dream about that I would get it from one of maybe his other children, because I assume he has other children.
- 49:24Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean For people who may not know.
- 49:27Carmen Lezeth: I don't know anything about my father.
- 49:29Carmen Lezeth: My mother said that she would tell me when I was 16, but she died when I was 11 and a half.
- 49:34Carmen Lezeth: So you know there's that and she didn't tell anybody.
- 49:36Carmen Lezeth: So I think it was maybe like a one night stand or something.
- 49:39Carmen Lezeth: So I always you know, which is fine, more power to your mom.
- 49:42Carmen Lezeth: I got to think about it in the positive way, I think.
- 49:47Carmen Lezeth: If so, there's a few things.
- 49:50Carmen Lezeth: First of all, I think, age-wise, he would be in his 90s Right now.
- 49:55Carmen Lezeth: He'd be in his 90s so he could be alive, but I always think that he's probably passed away.
- 50:00Carmen Lezeth: That makes me feel better that he's passed away.
- 50:02Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, and I always think that I would probably get a letter from one of his other children.
- 50:07Carmen Lezeth: But let's say it was him.
- 50:09Carmen Lezeth: Let's say he wasn't his mother, what that?
- 50:10Carmen Lezeth: Let's say it was him, let's say he wasn't what?
- 50:12Rick Costa: That could still happen.
- 50:13Carmen Lezeth: It could still happen, I think I'd be okay with it.
- 50:16Carmen Lezeth: I don't blame him for anything.
- 50:19Carmen Lezeth: I honestly don't think he knew in my.
- 50:22Carmen Lezeth: I mean, even if he did know, I know enough about my mom that she, if he did know, she probably didn't want him involved.
- 50:36Rick Costa: But my gut says he probably didn't even know I've seen a lot of shows where there's like whole shows about being people together that didn't know they were family and almost all of them they said you know, they're like we had no idea.
- 50:48Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I wouldn't be angry.
- 50:50Carmen Lezeth: I'm not angry about it.
- 50:53Carmen Lezeth: I feel bad that I didn't get to meet him or know him, maybe when I was younger or when he was younger or whatever.
- 51:01Carmen Lezeth: But I would love to get to know his other children and maybe learn more about him through that.
- 51:06Carmen Lezeth: And I think I told you this before when I did my ancestry stuff, because I never knew the other half of me.
- 51:11Carmen Lezeth: I am Portuguese, that's the other half.
- 51:14Carmen Lezeth: My father was Portuguese and Spaniard, but mostly Portuguese.
- 51:18Carmen Lezeth: It would be interesting to find out what he did for a living, who he was, how did he meet my mom?
- 51:25Carmen Lezeth: So one of the things that was really cool was so, my mom has other children that I don't talk about in the book because I don't hate them or whatever.
- 51:33Carmen Lezeth: So they would be my half sisters and brothers, but we don't talk about in the book because I don't hate them or whatever.
- 51:38Carmen Lezeth: So they would be my half sisters and brothers, but we don't talk, we don't have a relationship.
- 51:44Carmen Lezeth: But what's really cool is that I've spoken to one of their fathers, because there's three.
- 51:48Carmen Lezeth: There's three men and children from those three men.
- 51:53Carmen Lezeth: Okay, my mom clearly had fun.
- 51:54Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I don't know, know, I always want to look at it as from a place of joy.
- 51:57Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 51:58Carmen Lezeth: But he is a lovely man.
- 52:01Carmen Lezeth: He's still alive today.
- 52:01Carmen Lezeth: He's 94, 95, and we were able to talk and and I'm still a little bit in touch with him in a weird way, and he talked about my mom and it was so cool, like how he met her, her, he was in a band, he was a trumpet player and she came into the club.
- 52:16Carmen Lezeth: I'm like my mother was in a club.
- 52:18Carmen Lezeth: It was so cool because I don't have that memory, and he talked about how beautiful she was, and so I think that's what I would love to hear.
- 52:28Rick Costa: His ethnicity.
- 52:30Rick Costa: I couldn't say that word.
- 52:32Carmen Lezeth: His ethnicity.
- 52:32Rick Costa: Who yeah this father, this other father person?
- 52:37Carmen Lezeth: He's Latino, but also Black, yeah, so my mother's other children are also Latino, but they're from Honduras and Mr Everett that's his name.
- 52:47Carmen Lezeth: Mr Everett is a beautiful man.
- 52:49Carmen Lezeth: He reminds me of James Earl Jones.
- 52:51Carmen Lezeth: He does, totally does, and he's a lovely man.
- 52:54Carmen Lezeth: And I had met him when I was really young, after my mom passed away, and I don't know if he came to the funeral, but I don't know why I met him.
- 53:02Carmen Lezeth: But I did meet him when I was really young but I rejected him.
- 53:05Carmen Lezeth: I was cause I was bold and angry and mad at everybody you know, and I was like you're not my father, I'm not going to talk to you.
- 53:11Carmen Lezeth: And I was like you're not my father, I'm not going to talk to you, but he's a lovely man and I think the way he spoke about my mom and his whole energy is so beautiful and I would suspect that's the kind of father my biological father would be like a good human being.
- 53:29Carmen Lezeth: It just didn't work out, or it was a one night stand or it was whatever it was, but I don't know.
- 53:35Carmen Lezeth: Is that weird to you?
- 53:36Carmen Lezeth: Do you think I'd be angry when you ask that question?
- 53:39CBS Sunday Morning: No, Some people say I just don't want to know Really.
- 53:45Rick Costa: Oh yeah, I guess they're just harboring resentment because they assume, oh, you abandoned me, which again, like you just said, you don't know what happened.
- 53:55Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you know it's so funny.
- 53:57Carmen Lezeth: I've never felt abandoned.
- 53:58Carmen Lezeth: I have.
- 53:59Carmen Lezeth: I've always felt wanted Is that weird to say that?
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: I've always felt wanted and loved, and even after my mother died I think that was the crucial part was that all these other people stepped in and helped make sure I didn't fall through the cracks and I was like I was always, and I think that's what angers me about how we treat children today, and what I mean by that is how parents treat children today.
- 54:25Carmen Lezeth: When I was growing up and maybe I'm wrong, you can tell me from your perspective I felt that I wasn't just my mother's child, I was everyone's child in the neighborhood and I think every like you had people and I'm not saying this was a good thing, but you had people watching over all the kids in the neighborhood.
- 54:42Carmen Lezeth: Whether they were the parents, it didn't matter.
- 54:45Carmen Lezeth: They would be like totally saying something if you were doing something wrong, whether or not they were related to you or not.
- 54:51Carmen Lezeth: And at the end of forbes street there was this like conclave of windows and we used to call them abc, nbc and cbs, because those are the local channels back in the day, but people always knew everything that was going on in the hood, they would be calling you out as a teenager or whatever if you were doing something.
- 55:11Carmen Lezeth: So I feel like we've lost a lot of that, and I think I gave you the example.
- 55:17Carmen Lezeth: When I was in school and I got in trouble or whatever with the teacher, there was no way in hell.
- 55:24Carmen Lezeth: I thought my mom, or whoever was taking care of me at the time, was going to come up and defend me.
- 55:29Carmen Lezeth: I knew that if they found out I was in trouble but that's not how it is now Kids know that their parents will come up and defend me.
- 55:33Carmen Lezeth: I knew that if they found out I was in trouble but that's not how it is.
- 55:34Rick Costa: Now kids know that their parents will come up and defend them against the teachers yeah, yeah in my day, like if I was at somebody else's house, whatever, and we just said wrong and they called whatever, beat them, and when they get home let them know they're gonna get beat again exactly, it was a kind of and I'm not and I'm not into corporal punishment or whatever, but you do like there was just a different vibe, but I and I think we've lost a lot of that.
- 56:00Carmen Lezeth: We've lost a lot of that kind of your kids are my kids, my responsibility as well, like I need to make sure they're okay.
- 56:07Carmen Lezeth: And it scares me a little bit because I I I think the reason why I am the person I am today you read my book is because so many people stepped up and were like we got you, your mother's not here, we're going to walk in.
- 56:21Carmen Lezeth: That's not what they said, but it's what you did.
- 56:24Carmen Lezeth: That's what you did and I don't know if people would do that today.
- 56:28Rick Costa: That's a good question.
- 56:31Carmen Lezeth: I saw on a TikTok or something, some kid was in a grocery store I don't know if you saw this and they were totally like taking.
- 56:38Carmen Lezeth: They were taking milk and throwing it on the ground and they were taking.
- 56:41Carmen Lezeth: Oh, yeah, little girl Did you see that the little girl, well, yeah, and she was just throwing stuff everywhere and she was having like a temper tantrum, whatever, and people were trying to help her or yell at her or whatever, but she was just blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 56:54Carmen Lezeth: And come to find out she's nonverbal.
- 56:57Carmen Lezeth: She clearly has maybe some I shouldn't say clearly but she has some autistic whatever.
- 57:02Carmen Lezeth: But the weird thing is that you could see that so many people were mean to her, whereas I think when I was growing up, if that happened in my hood, I would have been slammed to the ground by some to control me, to put me down.
- 57:15Carmen Lezeth: And I'm not saying people should do that, I'm not trying to be violent, but I'm just saying there was an ownership to all children, like what was in the best interest, but people let that child keep doing what they were doing for 45 minutes, did you see it?
- 57:27Carmen Lezeth: Until the parents showed up.
- 57:30Rick Costa: I didn't know it was 45 minutes.
- 57:32Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, it was 45 minutes, wow, and she could have heard herself or somebody else.
- 57:35Carmen Lezeth: Hey, tony, how you doing?
- 57:38Carmen Lezeth: Does Tony want to come up?
- 57:41Rick Costa: He may not want to In my Facebook memories.
- 57:43Rick Costa: I just saw a video of it.
- 57:44Rick Costa: It was you, me and Tony, and it was.
- 57:45Rick Costa: I can't remember what you're talking about.
- 57:46Rick Costa: It was something funny.
- 57:54Carmen Lezeth: But Tony was like very animated that day and very made his point come across.
- 57:59Carmen Lezeth: It was really, it was funny.
- 58:00Carmen Lezeth: Wait, was it a bad thing?
- 58:00Carmen Lezeth: No, not at all.
- 58:00Carmen Lezeth: Hey, tony, you want to come up?
- 58:01Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I guess I didn't realize we're past the hour mark already.
- 58:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh, yeah can you stay on for a little bit longer?
- 58:06Carmen Lezeth: It won't let me post them through here.
- 58:08Carmen Lezeth: Oh, it did.
- 58:10Carmen Lezeth: Oh it went on twitch that's where he was initially I only got rick's notification.
- 58:16Carmen Lezeth: Carmen, where are your notifications?
- 58:18Rick Costa: ma'am, I don't know what you're talking about restreams, having issues, everything for the last three days on.
- 58:24Rick Costa: So I always set up a thumbnail.
- 58:26Rick Costa: I take a new picture of myself every time.
- 58:28Rick Costa: I put the date, I put the song I'm going to sing, I put the scripture thought reference that right and I post it to Restream and it sends it to all the different platforms.
- 58:36Rick Costa: Okay, Well on YouTube.
- 58:38Rick Costa: It's just showing me a generic picture that I have on YouTube, which is just clouds.
- 58:42Rick Costa: I'm like wait, what's this?
- 58:44Rick Costa: This is not the thumbnail.
- 58:45Rick Costa: It's been doing it like three times now.
- 58:46Rick Costa: I got to ask them about that.
- 58:48Carmen Lezeth: No, I'm confused.
- 58:49Rick Costa: No, I'm confused, oh yeah.
- 58:52Carmen Lezeth: It's letting me.
- 58:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so Restream is having issues.
- 58:56Carmen Lezeth: It's not me.
- 58:57Carmen Lezeth: If it's me, I'm always okay admitting it's me.
- 59:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't have any problem admitting that it's me.
- 59:04Carmen Lezeth: Can I put my hair up?
- 59:05Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, look at all the gray.
- 59:07Rick Costa: Oh my God, it's not that noticeable though from you know we're far away.
- 59:11Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 59:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to deal with it.
- 59:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm trying to go through it, I'm trying to just, oh my God, did you send it to?
- 59:19Rick Costa: him yeah, so Twitter.
- 59:20Rick Costa: I for some reason, when I put this to go to Twitter, it never shows up.
- 59:25Rick Costa: So I've been talking to Twitter, so I put choose your channels and if I choose Twitter, it doesn't go to Twitter.
- 59:32Rick Costa: So I've been talking to Twitter back and forth and they're like yeah, we don't see any problems, so talk to restream.
- 59:38Rick Costa: So I still haven't done that yet, but I'm like I still think it's Twitter but I think it's.
- 59:43Carmen Lezeth: but it's not Twitter anymore, it's X, isn't?
- 59:45Rick Costa: it Whatever, still call it Twitter, hey how you doing.
- 59:51Tony D,: What is going on with your notifications, ma'am?
- 59:53Carmen Lezeth: No, it's not just me.
- 59:54Carmen Lezeth: So Restream.
- 59:55Carmen Lezeth: Earlier today, when I tried to set it up, restream sent out a notification that they weren't doing you couldn't schedule a thing, and so they said it would be best if you just go on and go live right away.
- 1:00:08Carmen Lezeth: We just had to do it, so it still wasn't working, because I tried right before to do like a notification thing, so it just didn't work.
- 1:00:16Tony D,: So not so much with the notifications but the channels, because it used to be on both of your channels when they would come up.
- 1:00:21Tony D,: I would see Rick's notifications that he was on, I would see yours on the multiple platforms.
- 1:00:26Tony D,: All I see is his.
- 1:00:27Tony D,: Your Facebook isn't on.
- 1:00:29Tony D,: Your Twitch isn't on.
- 1:00:32Jane Fonda: Really.
- 1:00:33Tony D,: Yeah, his YouTube is the only one I see your YouTube isn't on Really.
- 1:00:35Tony D,: Yeah, his YouTube is the only one I see your YouTube isn't even kicking off?
- 1:00:36Carmen Lezeth: Is my Facebook not on really?
- 1:00:38Tony D,: No, it's not Anthony.
- 1:00:39Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's sad.
- 1:00:40Carmen Lezeth: I don't even know what to say about it.
- 1:00:42Tony D,: That's why, when I come in and I do oh yeah it's not on Facebook.
- 1:00:45Tony D,: Yeah, when I put the comment on all the platforms I don't know what on LinkedIn, I do see that.
- 1:00:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'm not on Facebook.
- 1:00:55Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why.
- 1:00:55Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 1:00:56Carmen Lezeth: They told me.
- 1:00:57Carmen Lezeth: You know, it's fine, I will complain to them, as I always do.
- 1:01:01Tony D,: Just share the link.
- 1:01:03Carmen Lezeth: They'll get another credit.
- 1:01:04Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I don't know why I'm not on Facebook.
- 1:01:06Tony D,: That's too bad you know what's funny it says I'm on Facebook right here.
- 1:01:15Carmen Lezeth: It says I to connect.
- 1:01:16Carmen Lezeth: Let me see.
- 1:01:17Carmen Lezeth: The content isn't available right now.
- 1:01:19Carmen Lezeth: Go to newsfeed.
- 1:01:21Carmen Lezeth: Let's see.
- 1:01:21Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's not letting me.
- 1:01:24Carmen Lezeth: Oh, it's so weird.
- 1:01:25Carmen Lezeth: Can I just say thank you for all you people who are listening anyways, even though we're not on.
- 1:01:29Carmen Lezeth: So we're on YouTube, on my channel, we're on LinkedIn and we're on TikTok Not TikTok, we're on Twitch.
- 1:01:38Tony D,: You said TikTok, I'd just be down.
- 1:01:40Carmen Lezeth: No, we're on Twitch.
- 1:01:41Carmen Lezeth: It's trying to send to Facebook right now.
- 1:01:45Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, too late, bitch Too late.
- 1:01:50Tony D,: Okay, I'm sorry, your Twitch is on.
- 1:01:52Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Twitch is on, but Facebook isn't.
- 1:01:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's trying to send data to.
- 1:01:59Carmen Lezeth: I can see that it's sending data as I'm looking at it, but whatever.
- 1:02:04Rick Costa: It's actually happened to me twice in the last two weeks where people said you're not on Facebook.
- 1:02:07Rick Costa: I'm like what do you mean?
- 1:02:08Rick Costa: I set it up to go to Facebook.
- 1:02:10Tony D,: Because, carmen, your YouTube isn't on right now.
- 1:02:12Tony D,: Rixis.
- 1:02:13Carmen Lezeth: My YouTube isn't on right now.
- 1:02:14Tony D,: Rick's is my YouTube isn't on.
- 1:02:15Tony D,: No, it's not.
- 1:02:16Tony D,: This is why when I drop those comments, so you see which platform is working, yeah.
- 1:02:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, good, I'm going to get a credit.
- 1:02:24Carmen Lezeth: I'm sick of reaching in a lot of ways, but they're very nice to me now, so they give me credit all the time.
- 1:02:30Tony D,: So Rick's LinkedIn is on your LinkedIn is on.
- 1:02:33Tony D,: Both of your Twitches are on His.
- 1:02:35Tony D,: Youtube is on.
- 1:02:37Carmen Lezeth: My YouTube is not on.
- 1:02:38Carmen Lezeth: No, that's terrible.
- 1:02:39Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to have to upload it.
- 1:02:41Carmen Lezeth: It takes like hours.
- 1:02:43Rick Costa: I'll do it.
- 1:02:43Rick Costa: Yeah, Last one, it says two weeks ago for you for YouTube.
- 1:02:47Carmen Lezeth: Tony, how are you?
- 1:02:48Carmen Lezeth: How was your Thanksgiving?
- 1:02:50Tony D,: Thanksgiving was phenomenal, honestly, and your birthday.
- 1:02:53Tony D,: Thank you for my birthday.
- 1:02:54Carmen Lezeth: And your birthday, happy birthday.
- 1:02:55Carmen Lezeth: You want me to sing?
- 1:02:56Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday, go ahead.
- 1:03:00Tony D,: Happy birthday, oh no, you want me to do Stevie Wonder one Sing your version.
- 1:03:02Tony D,: Sing your version I don't have a version.
- 1:03:06Tony D,: Look at you, she got all humble.
- 1:03:07Tony D,: I don't have a version.
- 1:03:08Carmen Lezeth: Look at her.
- 1:03:08Carmen Lezeth: We like the Stevie Wonder version better.
- 1:03:12Tony D,: You know what I mean.
- 1:03:17Carmen Lezeth: But everybody can't relate and I can't sing it because I have a horrible voice, but I sing the regular Happy Birthday.
- 1:03:20Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:03:23Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:03:26Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday, dear Tony.
- 1:03:31Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday to you, thank you.
- 1:03:35Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday to you, thank you.
- 1:03:39Rick Costa: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:03:42Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, whoa, with the loud echo in the background.
- 1:03:45Carmen Lezeth: Okay, sing it.
- 1:03:47Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, sing the whole thing.
- 1:03:48Carmen Lezeth: Why'd you get shot?
- 1:03:49Carmen Lezeth: Sing the whole thing.
- 1:03:50Tony D,: He sings every day.
- 1:03:51Tony D,: He's fine, he sings every day.
- 1:03:52Carmen Lezeth: Happy birthday to you.
- 1:03:54Carmen Lezeth: I can't do that without the music.
- 1:03:55Carmen Lezeth: I can't do that without the music.
- 1:03:56Carmen Lezeth: I can't do it without the music.
- 1:03:57Carmen Lezeth: I appreciate it.
- 1:03:57Carmen Lezeth: I appreciate it.
- 1:03:58Carmen Lezeth: So you had a blessed and wonderful birthday and you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
- 1:04:01Carmen Lezeth: Everyone in your family's fine.
- 1:04:03Carmen Lezeth: And what'd you do for Thanksgiving?
- 1:04:04Carmen Lezeth: Did you go home?
- 1:04:05Tony D,: First off, my birthday.
- 1:04:06Tony D,: I actually went to work that morning, came home, took a nap, went out to eat, went to Ruby Tuesdays Everybody knows I love Ruby Tuesdays.
- 1:04:13Tony D,: I said I'm going to hand me a drink.
- 1:04:15Tony D,: I went in there and it was just me.
- 1:04:17Tony D,: I normally take Jason with me.
- 1:04:18Tony D,: Lady said you by yourself?
- 1:04:19Tony D,: I said yes, it's my birthday.
- 1:04:20Tony D,: I came to get a drink.
- 1:04:21Tony D,: She said oh really, the bartender.
- 1:04:22Tony D,: I've been up there so much.
- 1:04:23Tony D,: She said listen, I'm going to pay for your drink.
- 1:04:31Tony D,: Another couple comes in.
- 1:04:33Tony D,: It's this lady's birthday.
- 1:04:34Tony D,: She had just turned 75, so we all cheered each other.
- 1:04:37Tony D,: It was cool.
- 1:04:37Tony D,: That was cool Thanksgiving.
- 1:04:41Tony D,: I had my son for the week and my ex-wife was like she was going to go to her dad's side and she said they asked me if you wanted to come.
- 1:04:54Tony D,: I said, sure I'll.
- 1:04:56Tony D,: I didn't know if they wanted me there and it was like you better be here, okay.
- 1:05:01Tony D,: So I took Jason over there.
- 1:05:02Tony D,: Let me tell y'all about the spread.
- 1:05:06Carmen Lezeth: Food Go ahead.
- 1:05:07Carmen Lezeth: Talk, Tell me about the food Go ahead.
- 1:05:10Tony D,: Ladies and gentlemen, all about the joyous around the world Turkey Ham.
- 1:05:17Tony D,: Gentlemen, all about the joyas around the world Turkey ham chicken.
- 1:05:20Tony D,: Not your regular rotisserie chicken.
- 1:05:24Tony D,: This was a different type of Thanksgiving holiday season Wow, pork loin which I didn't even know was cooked so well, potato salad, greens, deviled eggs.
- 1:05:36Tony D,: Then I had a chocolate bun cake.
- 1:05:38Tony D,: Then I went for my second plate of the same thing.
- 1:05:41Carmen Lezeth: Wow Okay good.
- 1:05:43Tony D,: Beauty for the drink.
- 1:05:43Tony D,: Everybody was like how you been?
- 1:05:45Tony D,: What's been going on?
- 1:05:47Tony D,: I hear you over there, Anthony, Don't get me started on you.
- 1:05:49Tony D,: Appreciate it.
- 1:05:49Tony D,: How's everybody going?
- 1:05:50Carmen Lezeth: How you doing.
- 1:05:51Tony D,: Everybody.
- 1:05:52Tony D,: They talked to me how you doing.
- 1:05:53Tony D,: I was talking to everybody.
- 1:05:53Tony D,: They talked to me.
- 1:05:54Tony D,: They was like how you been, what's going on?
- 1:05:55Tony D,: How you doing?
- 1:05:55Tony D,: I was like, oh wow, I was surprised.
- 1:05:56Tony D,: In-laws after the divorce, they didn't always like that, but they was all like, yes, Nice, I said you are more than welcome to be here.
- 1:06:03Carmen Lezeth: Yes, good.
- 1:06:04Tony D,: And you better come back next year.
- 1:06:07Carmen Lezeth: Nice.
- 1:06:10Tony D,: And Jason got around with his cousins and hang out with his uncles and they know me, I eat.
- 1:06:14Tony D,: The first time I ever went over there they had all that food.
- 1:06:18Tony D,: I only had one plate and sat down.
- 1:06:19Tony D,: They said would you like another?
- 1:06:20Tony D,: I said I better not, because I'm a little greedy.
- 1:06:22Tony D,: They said you need to eat.
- 1:06:24Tony D,: I said I'm telling you right now I give people warning I eat, I eat.
- 1:06:30Tony D,: And they was like you sure.
- 1:06:32Tony D,: I said I can have another plate.
- 1:06:33Tony D,: And it was the same spread.
- 1:06:34Tony D,: This was 15 years ago, it's the same spread.
- 1:06:37Tony D,: So I had a second plate.
- 1:06:38Tony D,: They're like you full.
- 1:06:40Tony D,: I'm like I'm fine.
- 1:06:42Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm something more than you normally get up and have thirds right.
- 1:06:45Tony D,: I was being humble.
- 1:06:46Tony D,: I'm like I'm fine, I'm fine.
- 1:06:48Tony D,: And the man at the house, he he was like let me tell you something.
- 1:06:52Tony D,: When you come over here for the first 20 minutes, you're a guest, and that was 15 minutes ago and he gave me a glass of wine.
- 1:07:00Tony D,: He said you want something to drink?
- 1:07:00Tony D,: I said man, don't do this.
- 1:07:01Tony D,: I said I'll see your food.
- 1:07:02Tony D,: I will take all these leftovers, do not do this.
- 1:07:05Tony D,: He was like we got plenty.
- 1:07:07Tony D,: I said there's 30 people in this house.
- 1:07:08Tony D,: I'm like got plenty.
- 1:07:11Tony D,: I wouldn't have got a third plate.
- 1:07:13Carmen Lezeth: See, I think that's how Thanksgiving should be.
- 1:07:15Carmen Lezeth: That's beautiful.
- 1:07:18Tony D,: It should be, but I'm always courteous because I look at how many people are there and how much food.
- 1:07:21Tony D,: Normally, if you've got one in six, seven people, you need your leftovers for the week, so nobody has to cook in here the microwave.
- 1:07:26Tony D,: That's just me being courteous, because I will eat four or five of them, plates like I'm in Golden Corral.
- 1:07:30Tony D,: Golden Corral, it was buffet style.
- 1:07:35Tony D,: I will get busy.
- 1:07:36Tony D,: I will put a paper towel right here.
- 1:07:38Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I have a controversial question Go.
- 1:07:41Carmen Lezeth: Do you like stuffing or dressing?
- 1:07:43Carmen Lezeth: Do you know the difference?
- 1:07:44Tony D,: Both.
- 1:07:45Carmen Lezeth: Stuffing is if it's in the bird and dressing if it's outside the bird.
- 1:07:49Tony D,: If it's prepared properly, I don't care, I'm going to eat it.
- 1:07:52Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I like.
- 1:07:53Carmen Lezeth: For some reason I really love cranberry sauce with my stuffing?
- 1:07:58Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that's about.
- 1:08:00Tony D,: I'm not a cranberry sauce person.
- 1:08:01Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing I don't eat cranberry.
- 1:08:03Carmen Lezeth: If we went out to dinner and we were like I wouldn't want it, but for some reason at Thanksgiving I need cranberry sauce with my stuffing.
- 1:08:10Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what that's about.
- 1:08:16Tony D,: It's tradition, that's tradition.
- 1:08:16Tony D,: That's what that is.
- 1:08:17Tony D,: It's so good.
- 1:08:17Tony D,: It's so good, it's tradition.
- 1:08:18Tony D,: I'm going to be controversial on my damn self okay, wait, what did Rick just say?
- 1:08:20Carmen Lezeth: I got confused.
- 1:08:22Tony D,: What happened?
- 1:08:23Tony D,: You're allergic.
- 1:08:25Rick Costa: Cranberries yeah, I'm allergic Really.
- 1:08:30Tony D,: Found out.
- 1:08:31Tony D,: Yeah, Let me take controversial myself.
- 1:08:35Carmen Lezeth: Okay.
- 1:08:35Carmen Lezeth: No, please don't Okay.
- 1:08:36Carmen Lezeth: What Not politics?
- 1:08:38Tony D,: Carmen Lizette Suarez.
- 1:08:40Tony D,: Okay, he said the whole name.
- 1:08:42Tony D,: It is okay to have gray in your hair, okay.
- 1:08:46Carmen Lezeth: You know what I know.
- 1:08:48Carmen Lezeth: That is, I know I appreciate it.
- 1:08:50Carmen Lezeth: That's your controversy.
- 1:08:52Tony D,: I know Well, and you yes.
- 1:09:00Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing.
- 1:09:01Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing I know it is.
- 1:09:01Carmen Lezeth: That's why I'm trying to get through it.
- 1:09:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god, I can't.
- 1:09:03Carmen Lezeth: I'm trying to.
- 1:09:03Carmen Lezeth: Just I'm look at, I've been dying my hair for so long.
- 1:09:05Carmen Lezeth: I'm tired of it.
- 1:09:06Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:09:07Carmen Lezeth: So I'm.
- 1:09:07Carmen Lezeth: That's why I did what I did with my hair.
- 1:09:09Carmen Lezeth: So it's all.
- 1:09:09Carmen Lezeth: You see all the highlights, whatever.
- 1:09:10Carmen Lezeth: So we can.
- 1:09:11Carmen Lezeth: Then we're working.
- 1:09:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm working with michael bache.
- 1:09:14Carmen Lezeth: Gotta give him a shout out, because he was so kind and nice and I think he's the first egyptian person I've ever met.
- 1:09:19Carmen Lezeth: He's egyptian, right, I know.
- 1:09:22Carmen Lezeth: I was like, because somebody walked by and he started speaking some language that I have never heard before.
- 1:09:28Carmen Lezeth: I was like what are you speaking?
- 1:09:29Carmen Lezeth: I said it.
- 1:09:29Carmen Lezeth: Like what attitude?
- 1:09:30Carmen Lezeth: He was like I'm egyptian.
- 1:09:33Carmen Lezeth: I was like, oh, I had no idea.
- 1:09:36Carmen Lezeth: But anyway, michael Boucher, shout out to him.
- 1:09:39Carmen Lezeth: It's a great hair salon here in Venice, california.
- 1:09:41Carmen Lezeth: But he's looking.
- 1:09:44Carmen Lezeth: I know it's going to be hard for you.
- 1:09:45Carmen Lezeth: He's like just work with it, let it go.
- 1:09:48Carmen Lezeth: He's like you do not need to come see me again, just let it go through.
- 1:09:52Carmen Lezeth: But if you really can't handle it, he gave me and this is not this, he is high end hair salon person.
- 1:09:59Carmen Lezeth: Okay, and I never go there.
- 1:10:01Carmen Lezeth: I was buying my L'Oreal at the store like the regular color.
- 1:10:06Carmen Lezeth: You guys don't know Cause you're men, but I was just buying stuff at the store like $7 and doing it myself.
- 1:10:12Carmen Lezeth: And he, when I first met with him at the free consultation, he was like and doing it myself.
- 1:10:15Carmen Lezeth: And he, when I first met with him at the free consultation, he was like you know, your hair is not black, right?
- 1:10:18Carmen Lezeth: He's like so I don't know why you're using this color.
- 1:10:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I'm just doing it in the roots, but it's the wrong color.
- 1:10:27Carmen Lezeth: So he was like so disappointed in me.
- 1:10:27Carmen Lezeth: I was like you don't even know me.
- 1:10:28Carmen Lezeth: Why are you so disappointed?
- 1:10:29Tony D,: He's on your case.
- 1:10:30Tony D,: He knows what he's doing.
- 1:10:35Carmen Lezeth: He was mean, mean.
- 1:10:36Carmen Lezeth: He was like your hair is not black anyway.
- 1:10:36Carmen Lezeth: He went in we did it.
- 1:10:37Carmen Lezeth: This actually is my hair color minus the highlights, and so it's like a light brown.
- 1:10:40Carmen Lezeth: He did all the highlights and then he gave me actual good color.
- 1:10:45Carmen Lezeth: So it's not from the store, these two huge bottles, and he didn't charge me for them like a hundred dollars each.
- 1:10:51Carmen Lezeth: He's like just do them one-to-one.
- 1:10:53Carmen Lezeth: He's like if you can't stand the gray, he's.
- 1:10:55Carmen Lezeth: The difference is is they don't color it, they just mask it and then they come out yes, water, so it's not damaging your hair, he's, because that's part of the problem is you're damaging your hair.
- 1:11:05Carmen Lezeth: Exactly, color.
- 1:11:06Carmen Lezeth: But you know what?
- 1:11:08Carmen Lezeth: I haven't used it.
- 1:11:09Carmen Lezeth: I'm not using it, I'm trying to just let he, because he was saying if you can just let it gray and then we'll keep doing the streaks.
- 1:11:16Carmen Lezeth: You know what it is.
- 1:11:19Carmen Lezeth: I think you missed it earlier.
- 1:11:22Carmen Lezeth: I just want it all gray already or all one color.
- 1:11:26Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 1:11:26Carmen Lezeth: I don't want this weird.
- 1:11:27Tony D,: I want to show the time of your age and your growth coming out.
- 1:11:31Tony D,: It's like us when we go bald, you're supposed to let it, but I just started cutting it all off.
- 1:11:35Tony D,: I really did.
- 1:11:37Carmen Lezeth: But aren't you arguing in my favor then?
- 1:11:39Carmen Lezeth: Sometimes, Because you're saying you cut it all off as opposed to let it little by little.
- 1:11:44Carmen Lezeth: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:11:45Carmen Lezeth: I wish it was all.
- 1:11:46Carmen Lezeth: Okay, let me ask you this question.
- 1:11:47Carmen Lezeth: I already know your answer.
- 1:11:48Carmen Lezeth: I was going to guess, because he said if you cut all your hair off, then we could do the gray.
- 1:11:54Carmen Lezeth: If you did like a short cut, okay, all right, never mind.
- 1:11:57Carmen Lezeth: All right, never mind, okay.
- 1:12:00Rick Costa: I think you talked about the hair length thing before.
- 1:12:03Carmen Lezeth: I just needed one.
- 1:12:03Carmen Lezeth: All I needed was one person to say you know what?
- 1:12:06Carmen Lezeth: I think that would look cute.
- 1:12:07Carmen Lezeth: Nobody.
- 1:12:08Tony D,: Until you are cast in Black Panther 3, no.
- 1:12:21Carmen Lezeth: I wasn't't gonna go bald.
- 1:12:21Carmen Lezeth: What kind of you are in black panther three?
- 1:12:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, all right, yeah, all I.
- 1:12:23Carmen Lezeth: I swear to god, if one person was like you know what I think that might be cute.
- 1:12:25Tony D,: That's all you want, that's all you need.
- 1:12:27Tony D,: You're gonna be like the nemo and jim and told these boys they're gonna listen to me, but but not one person.
- 1:12:36Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, no, you're right, I'm just.
- 1:12:38Carmen Lezeth: I hate how vain I am.
- 1:12:40Carmen Lezeth: I will say that I never thought I was this vain, but I hate that.
- 1:12:44Carmen Lezeth: Why is he acting like that?
- 1:12:46Carmen Lezeth: Rick, defend me.
- 1:12:49Rick Costa: Nobody wants to look.
- 1:12:50Rick Costa: Where did you come from?
- 1:12:52Carmen Lezeth: Why are you being mean, oh my God, why are you being mean, oh my God, why are you being mean to me?
- 1:12:57Carmen Lezeth: I am not.
- 1:12:58Carmen Lezeth: You think I'm vain.
- 1:12:59Carmen Lezeth: No, you said it.
- 1:13:00Carmen Lezeth: I know, but you're agreeing to it by acting like that I didn't agree to it.
- 1:13:04Tony D,: I'm shocked.
- 1:13:05Carmen Lezeth: I do.
- 1:13:06Carmen Lezeth: I think I'm vain because I got so upset about my gray hair, Like so much so that I went and found a person to do my hair that I went and found a person to do my hair.
- 1:13:13Carmen Lezeth: I don't go to the.
- 1:13:14Carmen Lezeth: There are certain things I don't spend money on, and then you call me bougie, Spending five $600 every six weeks on your hair.
- 1:13:21Carmen Lezeth: That's not me 100%.
- 1:13:24Carmen Lezeth: But you do know that's what women do.
- 1:13:27Tony D,: Women with money.
- 1:13:29Carmen Lezeth: It's not even women with money.
- 1:13:30Carmen Lezeth: He said to me he's Carmen, just do what I'm telling you to do.
- 1:13:33Carmen Lezeth: You can come in every like half year or whatever, and I'll redo the, I'll redo the highlights and it'll be like 125.
- 1:13:41Carmen Lezeth: He's I don't need and he's you don't need to come to me.
- 1:13:44Carmen Lezeth: You can come to one of my other people because he's like that's his salon, so he's more money, whatever he's.
- 1:13:49Carmen Lezeth: People come here every three weeks and they spend five, six hundred dollars to get this done what's crazy is he's helping you, take care of you, instead of just doing what you want.
- 1:13:59Carmen Lezeth: You can't beat that no, he's a good guy.
- 1:14:01Carmen Lezeth: That's why I keep saying his name michael boucher, and I'm not saying his name.
- 1:14:05Carmen Lezeth: Right, michael, it's.
- 1:14:06Carmen Lezeth: It's egyptian, so the way it's spelt is weird too, but he says everyone calls me michael it's like or something I'm sorry and I, rick, how are you doing?
- 1:14:15Carmen Lezeth: Hey Rick, how are?
- 1:14:17Carmen Lezeth: You doing I'm good, we can just get rid of Rick.
- 1:14:20Carmen Lezeth: He'll just be being you.
- 1:14:20Tony D,: Tony, we've been here since day one.
- 1:14:22Tony D,: You can't do that, it's against the rules.
- 1:14:23Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no, I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding what else?
- 1:14:27Tony D,: Yeah, I saw you when your I was in and out on it.
- 1:14:31Tony D,: You can do that, that's fine.
- 1:14:33Tony D,: Just so you know, you don't always have to ponytail it or the bun up top, you just let it flow back.
- 1:14:38Tony D,: It's actually cool.
- 1:14:39Carmen Lezeth: No, I don't, it's just because I'm hot right now.
- 1:14:41Carmen Lezeth: So Anthony just said as long as I'm all set and head and shoulders by shampoo, I'm okay.
- 1:14:46Tony D,: I used to use Selsun Blue.
- 1:14:47Tony D,: I got you?
- 1:14:48Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I mean, but this is a lot of hair, this is a lot of stuff happening here, so it's so funny.
- 1:14:57Carmen Lezeth: Can I tell you, my hair was not always like this and, tony, you might appreciate this.
- 1:15:01Carmen Lezeth: When I was growing up, as most black women did, we had to straighten our hair all the time.
- 1:15:06Carmen Lezeth: All the time we had rollers or we did the hot comb or oh my God.
- 1:15:12Carmen Lezeth: So we always had straight hair and I came out to Los Angeles after college.
- 1:15:17Tony D,: Fix this part right here.
- 1:15:18Tony D,: We're not going to let you do this.
- 1:15:19Tony D,: Fix this part.
- 1:15:19Tony D,: No, there you go.
- 1:15:20Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, there you go, come on, don't worry about what I look like.
- 1:15:23Carmen Lezeth: And then, when I came out here after college, I shaved off all my hair.
- 1:15:29Carmen Lezeth: I went to a barber, shaved off all my hair and stopped smoking.
- 1:15:35Carmen Lezeth: It's the best thing I ever did, because then my hair came in like this that is one of the hardest habits I ever had to break.
- 1:15:40Carmen Lezeth: Smoking you smoked, I used to smoke.
- 1:15:43Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, no cigarettes, I smoked cigarettes.
- 1:15:46Carmen Lezeth: I didn't smoke pot.
- 1:15:47Tony D,: I never smoked pot Me, neither Really.
- 1:15:48Tony D,: That's why I can remember shit.
- 1:15:53Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you smoke pot Easy, Easy, easy with incense.
- 1:15:56Tony D,: That's why I can remember shit.
- 1:15:57Tony D,: I'm on everybody.
- 1:15:57Tony D,: Rick, you smoke pot.
- 1:15:58Tony D,: Easy, easy, easy, easy with incense, easy I have to ask these questions.
- 1:16:02Tony D,: I don't want to assume anything, you don't have to answer.
- 1:16:04Rick Costa: That's part of the book Never been high, never been drunk.
- 1:16:08Carmen Lezeth: Well, I see there are things we need to do when we meet in person.
- 1:16:11Carmen Lezeth: Okay cool in person.
- 1:16:18Carmen Lezeth: Okay cool, we'll be like this is just water, have some rick, trust me, yeah.
- 1:16:20Carmen Lezeth: So I I shaved off and then my hair came in like this and I was so angry because now we have product to work with it.
- 1:16:27Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:16:28Carmen Lezeth: We do, we have products that matter.
- 1:16:29Carmen Lezeth: But I was like, wow, we really.
- 1:16:32Carmen Lezeth: I used to go to sleep with a head full of rollers in my head oh my God, doing that to a kid is horrible, but that's what you did back in the day.
- 1:16:42Tony D,: That's what the women did back then with the little girls, the mothers and the daughters.
- 1:16:46Tony D,: They all got their hairstyle together and it was bonding time for the women.
- 1:16:50Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, absolutely.
- 1:16:51Carmen Lezeth: There's no doubt about it.
- 1:16:51Tony D,: Women would go to the barbershop and the women would do each other's hair, and that was the weekend, okay, but it was also let's just be honest the reason why you couldn't have your natural hair.
- 1:17:01Carmen Lezeth: You had to have your hair straight because that was the appropriate way to be as quote unquote white as possible.
- 1:17:07Carmen Lezeth: It's just the truth.
- 1:17:08Carmen Lezeth: I'm not trying to make this political, but you couldn't have natural hair and get a job or go to school or whatever.
- 1:17:17Carmen Lezeth: You had to hear, if you're here, straight as possible.
- 1:17:19Carmen Lezeth: And I used to put a towel on my head.
- 1:17:19Carmen Lezeth: I remember I used to put a towel on my head.
- 1:17:20Carmen Lezeth: Then we would be like make it pretend we were share.
- 1:17:23Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, because that was the beauty standard.
- 1:17:28Carmen Lezeth: Right, that was the beauty standard, was?
- 1:17:30Tony D,: to have the long hair.
- 1:17:31Carmen Lezeth: I was straight so things have changed.
- 1:17:34Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, so that's what happened when I came out here.
- 1:17:36Carmen Lezeth: So I do love my hair, but I don't love the gray, if I may.
- 1:17:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 1:17:43Tony D,: Today is my oldest son's birthday.
- 1:17:45Tony D,: He turned 24.
- 1:17:46Tony D,: Thank you, God.
- 1:17:47Tony D,: Happy birthday.
- 1:17:47Carmen Lezeth: What's his name?
- 1:17:49Tony D,: The same as mine.
- 1:17:50Carmen Lezeth: Tony, you want me to sing happy birthday to him too.
- 1:17:54Tony D,: Tony Jr, he's the third.
- 1:17:56Carmen Lezeth: He's the third, your father's the first.
- 1:18:01Tony D,: My father was the first, I'm the junior, he's the third.
- 1:18:04Carmen Lezeth: So he's 24.
- 1:18:05Carmen Lezeth: Wait, how many kids do you have?
- 1:18:06Carmen Lezeth: I'm so confused.
- 1:18:07Carmen Lezeth: Three.
- 1:18:09Tony D,: You'll be forgetting Three.
- 1:18:14Carmen Lezeth: Two biological and a stepdaughter.
- 1:18:15Carmen Lezeth: Two biological and a stepdaughter biological and a stepdaughter.
- 1:18:18Tony D,: She's still thinking.
- 1:18:20Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know you had a son who was older.
- 1:18:23Tony D,: I told you, I know.
- 1:18:26Carmen Lezeth: I didn't where Florida was it.
- 1:18:30Rick Costa: Where'd he go?
- 1:18:30Rick Costa: Florida?
- 1:18:34Carmen Lezeth: trying to be all like.
- 1:18:35Carmen Lezeth: He knows you and he remembers everything, whatever trying to make me look bad.
- 1:18:38Carmen Lezeth: Bye, everybody.
- 1:18:39Carmen Lezeth: It was great to have you all here today and something to do with airlines or something.
- 1:18:45Rick Costa: Am I remembering what?
- 1:18:46Tony D,: do you mean airlines?
- 1:18:47Tony D,: What was he me working on planes?
- 1:18:50Carmen Lezeth: no, not that kind of thing.
- 1:18:51Carmen Lezeth: What does he do?
- 1:18:52Tony D,: he graduated in film production.
- 1:18:54Tony D,: He's just trying to stay in the industry because it's tough.
- 1:18:57Carmen Lezeth: It's a tough industry right now.
- 1:18:58Tony D,: It's very tough and I talk to him about it a lot, so he's working where he can.
- 1:19:02Carmen Lezeth: Where does he live?
- 1:19:04Tony D,: Florida.
- 1:19:05Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I can't help him.
- 1:19:07Tony D,: I know, I know people down there, but the industry's screwed.
- 1:19:09Tony D,: I know people in a couple of places.
- 1:19:10Tony D,: They're like it's so messed up.
- 1:19:12Carmen Lezeth: My brother lives in Florida, but I don't know anybody in the industry to help him in.
- 1:19:17Carmen Lezeth: Florida, because that's not really a hub of Hollywood.
- 1:19:20Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:19:21Carmen Lezeth: It's not really Atlanta would be great Atlanta would be great.
- 1:19:25Carmen Lezeth: Atlanta is good.
- 1:19:27Carmen Lezeth: Atlanta is tough the industry in general is tough, but I'm just saying connection-wise.
- 1:19:34Carmen Lezeth: I know more people in Atlanta or Hollywood, but not Florida.
- 1:19:37Carmen Lezeth: Florida is not like a place that I would even think of as filming.
- 1:19:43Carmen Lezeth: It is, but it's more Walt Disney, it's more.
- 1:19:45Tony D,: Disney.
- 1:19:45Tony D,: What I have noticed is a lot of them are going to New Zealand and Canada.
- 1:19:48Tony D,: A lot of movies are produced there.
- 1:19:51Tony D,: I'm hearing that a lot.
- 1:19:52Tony D,: I do know 50 opened up a studio in Louisiana.
- 1:19:55Tony D,: Cat Williams just opened up a studio in Alabama.
- 1:19:59Carmen Lezeth: Cat Williams on fire.
- 1:20:00Carmen Lezeth: Let me just tell you Cat Williams on fire.
- 1:20:03Carmen Lezeth: Wait, tony, did you even listen to?
- 1:20:07Carmen Lezeth: I know this is a stupid question, oh, go ahead Kendrick Lamar's new album.
- 1:20:11Tony D,: I listened to the the EP last week and let me go ahead and say I think TV Off is going to be the best one off of those songs.
- 1:20:21Tony D,: Even though lyrically he was phenomenal, you should never let him sing.
- 1:20:24Tony D,: I'll show you a post.
- 1:20:26Carmen Lezeth: I love Luther, though I love that song Luther, and also Dodger Blue I love.
- 1:20:30Tony D,: TV Off is going to be the one in my opinion.
- 1:20:32Carmen Lezeth: It's good.
- 1:20:34Tony D,: TV Off hit because when the other three songs came out earlier this year was Euphoria.
- 1:20:39Tony D,: They Not Like Us.
- 1:20:40Tony D,: And Meet the Grams.
- 1:20:41Tony D,: That's a whole other album.
- 1:20:43Tony D,: That's a whole other album.
- 1:20:44Tony D,: I'm just saying, but for his career, euphoria had me with the intro.
- 1:20:47Tony D,: He started off with that Teddy Pendergrass.
- 1:20:49Tony D,: He said I said that's over.
- 1:20:51Tony D,: I said that's over.
- 1:20:51Tony D,: I said that's it, that's it.
- 1:20:52Tony D,: I can't even mess with him.
- 1:20:53Tony D,: They're not like us.
- 1:20:54Tony D,: Y'all can have that.
- 1:20:54Tony D,: But Meet the Grounds was one of the most savage diss songs I've ever heard in my life.
- 1:20:59Carmen Lezeth: But you heard Luther right With Luther Vandross, that's it.
- 1:21:02Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm just saying Because I think that one better than Teddy Pendergrass, one Florida's all Disney and independent, exactly Anthony, that's what I'm saying it's not really the hub of Hollywood stuffage.
- 1:21:16Tony D,: The hub of Hollywood.
- 1:21:17Tony D,: No but Hollywood studios in Orlando and Universal Studios.
- 1:21:21Carmen Lezeth: Still Disney.
- 1:21:22Tony D,: I got you, I got you, I got you.
- 1:21:23Tony D,: And Disney is the main conglomerate right now as well.
- 1:21:26Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Okay.
- 1:21:27Carmen Lezeth: So yeah, I just think Kendrick Lamar is amazing and people were trying to get tickets and it was just so funny because he had work Listen that concert.
- 1:21:34Tony D,: He had the what that concert he had earlier this year, when everybody came on stage, that was mind-blowing.
- 1:21:41Carmen Lezeth: He's amazing.
- 1:21:42Carmen Lezeth: I just think he's amazing.
- 1:21:43Carmen Lezeth: Do you know that Rick didn't even flinch when the first like everyone who I have shown or had listened to the Luther song, they were like, because that little lick right there, that little beginning where he samples Luther, I think it's very telling.
- 1:21:58Carmen Lezeth: You're not really Gen X?
- 1:22:01Tony D,: The new hip hop.
- 1:22:02Tony D,: Rick doesn't really deal with it.
- 1:22:03Tony D,: He knows some of the old stuff.
- 1:22:04Carmen Lezeth: The Luther part is amazing she likes Luther.
- 1:22:07Tony D,: Ladies and gentlemen, just so you know.
- 1:22:09Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying that moment that when you hear this world is mine, that's crazy.
- 1:22:16Carmen Lezeth: Come on, no one heard that.
- 1:22:19Carmen Lezeth: That was just brilliantly.
- 1:22:21Tony D,: I feel the same way about Euphoria.
- 1:22:22Tony D,: Okay, I want to.
- 1:22:27Carmen Lezeth: Okay, rick is I'm going to get off the show?
- 1:22:29Carmen Lezeth: Okay, have you guys seen Wicked?
- 1:22:33Tony D,: I did see Moana 2.
- 1:22:34Tony D,: I took Jason to see that.
- 1:22:35Tony D,: Good kid movie, very good kid movie.
- 1:22:38Tony D,: I would recommend that for a lot of parents.
- 1:22:40Tony D,: I think there are some subliminals.
- 1:22:43Tony D,: I wouldn't necessarily call them concerning, but I did catch a couple of things with that movie, the same way I did with, and I want to, if you don't mind.
- 1:22:50Carmen Lezeth: Is this Moana?
- 1:22:51Carmen Lezeth: He's talking about Moana too.
- 1:22:52Tony D,: Moana too, it's pretty good.
- 1:22:53Tony D,: Any parent that has not seen the movie Ron Goes Wrong came out a few years ago, watch that movie with your children.
- 1:23:01Tony D,: That was a good movie for parenting, for kids and the dangers of not only devices but social media Outstanding movie for those topics.
- 1:23:13Tony D,: What else, what else, what else?
- 1:23:14Tony D,: I took them to see.
- 1:23:16Carmen Lezeth: But wait.
- 1:23:16Carmen Lezeth: So, rick, did you?
- 1:23:17Carmen Lezeth: You hadn't saw gladiator.
- 1:23:18Carmen Lezeth: You want to give us your overall.
- 1:23:20Rick Costa: I know what you thought of gladiator, but yeah my brother wanted to see that because they'd seen the first one I hadn't seen.
- 1:23:26Rick Costa: I've seen it.
- 1:23:27Rick Costa: I saw a little bit of the first one, but I, we watched the first one.
- 1:23:31Rick Costa: But the thing that's crazy is they're the same story.
- 1:23:34Rick Costa: It's just the son and then the father and did the same thing.
- 1:23:38Rick Costa: It kept showing the same things.
- 1:23:39Rick Costa: Look, he's grabbing the sand.
- 1:23:41Rick Costa: Oh, that's what his father did too, and it was just so much of the same.
- 1:23:44Rick Costa: I'm like y'all realize this is almost the same movie.
- 1:23:47Rick Costa: That's what they wanted.
- 1:23:49Rick Costa: Kind of weird, not saying it was bad, and of course Denzel killed it.
- 1:23:53Rick Costa: He killed it, did he really.
- 1:23:55Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, if you haven't seen it, yeah, denzel is amazing in it.
- 1:23:58Carmen Lezeth: But I was shook.
- 1:24:00Carmen Lezeth: But I told Rick when he said he was going to go see it I'm like you should go see Wicked, don't go see it.
- 1:24:04Carmen Lezeth: I did because I knew it wasn't going to be.
- 1:24:07Carmen Lezeth: I had already seen it.
- 1:24:08Carmen Lezeth: But it was okay, it was fine.
- 1:24:09Carmen Lezeth: But but you wouldn't go see it again.
- 1:24:16Carmen Lezeth: There's no need.
- 1:24:17Carmen Lezeth: There's no need.
- 1:24:17Carmen Lezeth: I do recommend everyone to go see Wicked.
- 1:24:18Carmen Lezeth: I think I've convinced Rick to go see Wicked, right.
- 1:24:21Rick Costa: I've seen some videos talking about it and I feel like now I have seen it because I've seen some people talking about it.
- 1:24:26Rick Costa: But yeah, it looks interesting.
- 1:24:28Carmen Lezeth: No, you have to go see it, but I sent you a compilation that kind of gave you a connection.
- 1:24:32Carmen Lezeth: I don't think people know.
- 1:24:42Carmen Lezeth: I saw it on Broadway twice and I saw it in the theater here in Los Angeles and people don't understand that Wicked is.
- 1:24:46Carmen Lezeth: Let me just put it this way the Wizard of Oz was created in 1900 by a man named EL Braun I forget what his full name is, but it's EL Braun Okay, in 1990, so we all know the story of the Wizard of Oz, right?
- 1:25:00Carmen Lezeth: Dorothy, toto, walking Yellow Brick Road, wizard, bad guy, we realize, and then he's not really who he says he is.
- 1:25:08Carmen Lezeth: Blah, blah, blah.
- 1:25:08Carmen Lezeth: The story of Wicked, which people don't understand, is about the Wicked Witch of the West.
- 1:25:15Carmen Lezeth: When Dorothy throws the water on the witch and she melts or whatever, that's when the story starts.
- 1:25:21Carmen Lezeth: So they go back and they give you all the information about the backstory, of how the Wicked Witch of the West, whose name is Elphaba, oh, wow Give you a little information.
- 1:25:34Carmen Lezeth: Her name is Elphaba.
- 1:25:34Carmen Lezeth: Oh wow, give you a little information.
- 1:25:35Carmen Lezeth: Her name is Elphaba.
- 1:25:36Carmen Lezeth: The reason why her name is Elphaba is because the author who wrote the book in 1995.
- 1:25:44Carmen Lezeth: So think about it the Wizard of Oz was created in 1900.
- 1:25:48Carmen Lezeth: And then, in 1995, a man whose name I can't remember off the top of my head turned around and said you know what?
- 1:25:54Carmen Lezeth: I want to write a backstory to the green witch.
- 1:25:57Carmen Lezeth: So he turned around in order to honor EL Braun email.
- 1:26:04Carmen Lezeth: He made Elphaba, elb, elphaba, elphaba that's her name the wicked witch of the west.
- 1:26:12Carmen Lezeth: But he created an entire backstory to, and when you watch the backstory, it's incredible because you find out where the lion comes from, the cowardly lion.
- 1:26:24Carmen Lezeth: You find out where the tin man comes from, you find out where comes from, and it's just a to me.
- 1:26:31Carmen Lezeth: Even if you don't like musicals, the thing that's amazing about this movie to me is the artistry, the creativity in someone who read a book and said you know what?
- 1:26:43Carmen Lezeth: I want to write the backstory to some random character that had no full background to it and see how it goes.
- 1:26:51Carmen Lezeth: How it goes.
- 1:26:59Carmen Lezeth: And he wrote this entire background that connects the wizard of oz to this moment in time when the wicked witch of the west is, has water thrown on her and dies.
- 1:27:03Carmen Lezeth: So it's a great art piece at the very least, even and even if you don't like musicals, it's not that kind of musical.
- 1:27:11Carmen Lezeth: It's really well done.
- 1:27:12Rick Costa: I'm just saying you guys should really see it, yeah fun little fact I found out was so they they had to stick with the wicked.
- 1:27:20Rick Costa: They had to stick with a book and not really the original movie because the copyright stuff.
- 1:27:26Rick Costa: So that's why the there's not ruby red slippers.
- 1:27:31Rick Costa: They made it silver because the movie made it ruby, but in the book it's silver.
- 1:27:35Rick Costa: I was like, oh, that's interesting, gotcha.
- 1:27:38Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, there was, I think.
- 1:27:39Carmen Lezeth: I think there were some things that you have to make choices on as a film director.
- 1:27:44Carmen Lezeth: You have to fight the right battles or whatever, but it is when he wrote.
- 1:27:49Carmen Lezeth: I don't think that when he wrote the book he thought it was going to be as great as it was.
- 1:27:53Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I doubt it.
- 1:27:54Carmen Lezeth: You, he wrote the book.
- 1:27:57Carmen Lezeth: He thought it was going to be as great as it was.
- 1:27:58Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I doubt it.
- 1:27:59Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:27:59Carmen Lezeth: Like he was just like I'm going to write this book, and so he had to be careful as to what he took as verbatim.
- 1:28:03Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 1:28:04Carmen Lezeth: So I think that was part of it too, but it is fascinating.
- 1:28:07Carmen Lezeth: And here's the other thing I'll say and look, I'm a big fan of art in the commercial sense, not art in the foo sense, I remember.
- 1:28:16Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, tony, let me translate in the bougie sense right, I said foo foo because I remember going as a kid to the art museum in Boston and there was this canvas, this big white canvas, huge ceiling to floor, and there was a blue line painted across it just the blue line and it was like worth millions of dollars and I was like are you out of your mind?
- 1:28:40Carmen Lezeth: I was like floored.
- 1:28:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm not into abstract art, but I'm into like art that is like commercial for regular people that we understand.
- 1:28:49Carmen Lezeth: And this is one of those movies.
- 1:28:50Carmen Lezeth: You sit through it and you understand this backstory and how it happened and how they connected and you're like, wow, it's so well done.
- 1:28:59Carmen Lezeth: Anthony just said I'm sure I'll get wicked when it comes out on DVD, blu-ray, digital.
- 1:29:03Carmen Lezeth: That's how I watch most movies.
- 1:29:04Carmen Lezeth: I think that's fine too.
- 1:29:05Carmen Lezeth: I'm not a big fan of oh, you must go to the movie theaters.
- 1:29:08Carmen Lezeth: This was beautiful to watch in the movie theater and it was really wonderful to be around with a lot of people, because you do a lot of gasping in it, you do a lot of oh my, you get really excited and a lot of people know the theater.
- 1:29:21Carmen Lezeth: Like we all know the music, we all know the, you know some people are singing, so there's that social con.
- 1:29:27Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of the difference between going to a baseball game or watching it on tv.
- 1:29:30Carmen Lezeth: Big difference you know what I mean?
- 1:29:33Tony D,: Okay Singing.
- 1:29:35Carmen Lezeth: Most of it, 80% of it, 80% of it, I would say, yeah, it's a musical.
- 1:29:40Carmen Lezeth: It's a musical.
- 1:29:41Carmen Lezeth: It's well done, though, okay.
- 1:29:42Carmen Lezeth: So it's an hour and 40 minutes, and as much as I love hanging with you guys, my problem unless?
- 1:29:50Carmen Lezeth: You guys, it's past your normal time, it's not even that I got to edit this shit.
- 1:29:56Rick Costa: I'm like dang, I know.
- 1:30:00Carmen Lezeth: Although I could just put it up, but I feel like it's unprofessional to just put it up, as is like with all the ahs and the and we and, by the way, we all have little things we do, which I'm not going to tell you because any of you are self-conscious.
- 1:30:18Tony D,: But we all have things we do that, I delete, so you can't hear it in the audio.
- 1:30:24Tony D,: She said hear it, tony, not see it.
- 1:30:25Tony D,: I know, but little things that we do that.
- 1:30:27Carmen Lezeth: She wants to edit or delete.
- 1:30:28Carmen Lezeth: You know better than to do that.
- 1:30:29Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry we're not on Facebook.
- 1:30:31Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what to do.
- 1:30:33Tony D,: I'm very upset with the message, even when you're doing your clips.
- 1:30:39Rick Costa: Throw it up there still, yeah, just put the YouTube link in.
- 1:30:41Carmen Lezeth: Facebook.
- 1:30:41Carmen Lezeth: It's just annoying because they were having problems today.
- 1:30:44Carmen Lezeth: But you were on Facebook today, rick, with your show, right?
- 1:30:47Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but you had already pre-scheduled it before they had problems, yeah.
- 1:30:53Rick Costa: I did it last night.
- 1:30:56Carmen Lezeth: We'll see.

- 1:31:11Carmen Lezeth: I don't think it's actually a cup.
- 1:31:14Carmen Lezeth: We have hats, we have everything.
