- 0:15Speaker 1: some calls we always love to have new callers if
- 0:18Speaker 1: you never called us before it's 800-321-0710 is the number
- 0:23Speaker 1: and let's go to lauren in new jersey lauren how
- 0:26Speaker 1: you doing.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hey, good morning. Happy Columbus Day to you and everyone.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You're welcome. So, yeah, I think the great thing about
- 0:36Speaker 2: one of the great things about President Trump is that
- 0:40Speaker 2: he's into substance and truth. And except for when Zelensky
- 0:45Speaker 2: showed up at the meeting at the White House in
- 0:47Speaker 2: his T-shirt, we don't care what people look like or
- 0:51Speaker 2: how they dress. It's all about the substance.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We don't?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah, no.
- 0:55Speaker 2: We don't? Of course we do.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You see Fetterman show up in shorts in Congress. You think,
- 1:03Speaker 1: what the hell is he dressed like that for? Don't you?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Well, that's how he is.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I know, but let's say it's your wedding and he
- 1:11Speaker 1: shows up with the sneakers and the shorts and the
- 1:13Speaker 1: baseball hat. Wouldn't you say, can't you get dressed up
- 1:16Speaker 1: for my wedding?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well, that's different. That's a special event.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Well, so is Congress.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Well, Well, maybe he would change, but I don't think
- 1:26Speaker 2: he'd be dictated to by President Trump. And Katie just
- 1:30Speaker 2: happens to be a beautiful, highly intelligent woman. And it's
- 1:34Speaker 2: really amazing how beautiful women just seem to be, I
- 1:39Speaker 2: don't know, more representative in the constitutional republic, non-woke progressives.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Well, that's a Trump thing. Trump likes people, as he
- 1:49Speaker 1: would say, out of central casting. He likes a good-looking,
- 1:52Speaker 1: beautiful spokesperson, unlike other presidents who have some pretty raggedy-looking
- 1:58Speaker 1: spokespeople before. Although, Trump started, the first spokesperson was Sean Spicer,
- 2:03Speaker 1: and he was good, but he was like an establishment guy.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But then he went with the beautiful blondes.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Of course, because she was competent.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It did a great job.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It wasn't just because she looked great.
- 2:17Speaker 1: No, it's a tough job. You've got to be good
- 2:19Speaker 1: at that. All right, Lauren, thanks for calling. Let's go
- 2:22Speaker 1: to Simon in Brooklyn. Simon, how are you doing? How
- 2:27Speaker 1: are you?
- 2:28Speaker 4: I wanted to get your thoughts on Hochul trying to
- 2:30Speaker 4: get the Jewish vote by putting out a statement three
- 2:33Speaker 4: days ago that she backs the federal scholarship tax credit
- 2:36Speaker 4: program now. which, you know, anybody could stand there and say, oh,
- 2:40Speaker 4: I support this, support that, but.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Our policies are just the opposite.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I mean, who's she fooling over that?
- 2:45Speaker 1: In her defense, listen, she's not that bright. She has
- 2:48Speaker 1: an IQ maybe, what, 95? She's not that bright. She's
- 2:51Speaker 1: a cunning politician, you know, years in politics, but not
- 2:55Speaker 1: that bright. You know, Blakeman, he could talk about anything.
- 2:58Speaker 1: He knows what he's talking about. But what you're talking about,
- 3:01Speaker 1: the federal tax credit initiative, whatever the hell you said,
- 3:05Speaker 1: she doesn't understand any of that. If you're not that bright,
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's tough to do what she's doing. She's like walking
- 3:13Speaker 1: this tightrope between the left-wing socialist Mamdani crowd and normal people.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And it's tough to do. You got to be really
- 3:20Speaker 1: skilled to do that. She doesn't really have that kind
- 3:23Speaker 1: of skill. Her whole life right now is just trying
- 3:25Speaker 1: to get Mamdani not to turn on her. She wants
- 3:29Speaker 1: the Mamdani voters to get elected governor. You have to
- 3:32Speaker 1: win 37% of New York. Some will say 35%, but, uh,
- 3:39Speaker 1: She just wants to, if she's going to beat Blakeman,
- 3:41Speaker 1: it's going to be in New York City. Blakeman easily
- 3:44Speaker 1: wins the rest of New York State, but she's trying
- 3:46Speaker 1: to get big turnout in New York City. So she's
- 3:49Speaker 1: trying way too hard to appease the Mamdani crowd. It's
- 3:52Speaker 1: not really her, but again, she's a weathervane, whatever way
- 3:56Speaker 1: the wind is blowing. Let's go to Dennis in Howard Beach. Dennis,
- 3:59Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 4:01Speaker 3: Hey, Mark.
- 4:01Speaker 4: First time in a long time. Well, listen, Mark, I'm
- 4:04Speaker 4: starting to become a panicker.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm trying to think if they run a commercial
- 4:09Speaker 4: of all the nonsense that the Democrats did, like the
- 4:12Speaker 4: protests and charging the White House, the trans people.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they do run those.
- 4:18Speaker 4: But they see more of them.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Well, you're not going to see them. They run them,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but they still run them here. They run them where
- 4:24Speaker 1: the races are, where competitive races are. See, you got
- 4:26Speaker 1: to remember that. If you're living in Ohio, if you're
- 4:29Speaker 1: living in Texas, if you're living, you're seeing these commercials
- 4:31Speaker 1: all the time. Hey, by the way, Elon Musk. has
- 4:35Speaker 1: jumped in with $ 275 million. He is putting that money
- 4:41Speaker 1: into these campaigns right now, just for the midterms, $ 275 million. Now,
- 4:47Speaker 1: of course, Republicans, they love it, and Democrats are yelling
- 4:50Speaker 1: and screaming, this is horrifying, a billionaire pumping money into campaigns,
- 4:56Speaker 1: even though it's what they did for years with George
- 4:58Speaker 1: Soros and a dozen other guys like that. But Republicans
- 5:02Speaker 1: finally have a billionaire pumping money in, $ 275 million. Right now,
- 5:07Speaker 1: just in these couple of months here for the midterms.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Let's go to Al in Parsippany. Al, how you doing?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Hello, Mr. Simone.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yes, Al.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Okay. I heard on another station about your favorite dish. Well,
- 5:25Speaker 3: if they asked me that, I would say Sophia Loren and...
- 5:31Speaker 3: Gina Lola Brigida.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Well, Gina Lola Brigida is dead. Sophia Loren is like
- 5:38Speaker 1: 95 and alive.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Well, it doesn't matter because it's just a joke.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Oh.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Does anybody know what he's talking about?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Does anybody know what he's talking about?
- 5:51Speaker 1: Al, you sound like a nice guy. Not making much sense,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but you sound like a nice guy. So what was
- 5:56Speaker 1: the joke?
- 5:57Speaker 3: They asked what your favorite dish was? And I said,
- 6:02Speaker 3: if I responded, I would say Sophia Loren and Gina
- 6:09Speaker 3: Lola Bridget.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh, I got it. Your favorite dish and then you
- 6:12Speaker 1: say Gina Lola Bridget. Well, that would be a very
- 6:14Speaker 1: funny joke. If this were Ralph Cramden in 1954, first
- 6:18Speaker 1: of all, there's nobody that knows who.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I know that.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Nobody who knows who Gina Lola Bridget is anymore. And nobody,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I hate to break it to you, knows who Sophia
- 6:25Speaker 1: Loren is. And I hate to break it to you,
- 6:27Speaker 1: but nobody knows that term A dish, meaning a hot-looking woman.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That's something Ed Norton would say. Oh, what a dish.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It's a little outdated, don't joke. But see if you
- 6:42Speaker 1: can modernize that. Stick in some modern names. Yeah, Sophia
- 6:45Speaker 1: Loren is still alive. It looks pretty good for mid-' 90s.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I mean, she doesn't look like she used to look,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but she doesn't look like the mother in the Golden
- 6:55Speaker 1: Girls either. So she's doing pretty well. Hey, we got
- 6:58Speaker 1: a lot coming up. We'll get to the greatest pollster
- 7:01Speaker 1: in the world in the next hour. He'll give us
- 7:03Speaker 1: the real numbers. And when we come back, we'll talk
- 7:05Speaker 1: to the greatest columnist in America today, Michael Goodwin. We'll
- 7:09Speaker 1: talk to him next on 710WOR.
