- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the Three O Take
- 0:16presented by Sea Kick. This is episode 456.
- 0:21I'll be your host, Kyle Corwin. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:24Reyes. Nate.
- 0:27Hola, everybody here we are here we are here we be happy trade
- 0:35it's been a while. It's.
- 0:37It's been a while, did you enjoy your break?
- 0:39Little little pseudo break because of our early recordings
- 0:42last week. Yeah.
- 0:44I mean breaks from this just mean I work more so I don't know
- 0:47how much of it. So it's not really a break.
- 0:48It's just just the opposite actually.
- 0:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's how that works.
- 0:55You want to move to three a week because that would I mean, I can
- 0:57touch we go 7 a lot more. That sounds great.
- 1:01Just a constant. Live stream of our our
- 1:04day-to-day activities. Should we quit our jobs?
- 1:06That's what I want to know. That's that's on deck happy Trey
- 1:10Turner standing ovation one year anniversary day caught a.
- 1:15Lot a lot of copycats in a year, you know?
- 1:18A lot can happen around the league when they see something
- 1:22they like in in just a a single year.
- 1:25That happened this late in the season.
- 1:28Sure did. I caught the I was I was tuning
- 1:33into the Phillies game to see if they drops their seventh in a
- 1:35row. They pulled it out, but on the
- 1:37broadcast they they did a little flashback one year ago today,
- 1:41August 4th, 2023, Trey Turner gets the same innovation.
- 1:47So, so big day baseball history. Yeah, it's huge.
- 1:53I cannot believe it was this late in the season.
- 1:57I can't believe it was he. Struggle like that.
- 2:00Long like. Yeah, it's pretty bad.
- 2:03That's weird. Pretty right?
- 2:06I can't believe it was this late in the season that I got to a
- 2:09Nationals game. I finally, finally made it over
- 2:13to Nats Park today. Shut up, Mom.
- 2:17Her. Her work allowed for us to take
- 2:21advantage of the suite so it was her, me, Meredith and some of
- 2:26her Co workers all in the suite. The suite life at a baseball
- 2:30game. Yeah, it's different, bro.
- 2:33It's hard to, it's hard to like, remind yourself you're at a game
- 2:36sometimes. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:39The food, the food being right there, the bathroom in the
- 2:44suite. So you're not missing anything
- 2:47that's. Great, that's arguably better
- 2:50than the food. Crucial I would, I would, I
- 2:53would venture to say so because we're and we're talking about
- 2:56today, you know what the pitch clock if if you go to the
- 2:59bathroom, you come back, you've missed an in and 1/2.
- 3:02It's true, it's true. Forget getting something out of
- 3:07concession on the same trip. That's that's out of the
- 3:10question. I mean, you may as well just not
- 3:13even go to the game. We were there for an hour and 10
- 3:17minutes today and I it was halfway.
- 3:22The game was halfway over. An hour and 10 minutes and the
- 3:27game was halfway over. That's one of those games, like
- 3:33when you're in the suite, you don't want it to, you don't want
- 3:35it to cruise through, you know, you're kind of rooting for
- 3:37extras. Talk to me about the food.
- 3:40Talk to me about I was in there. We walked in and Major League
- 3:45wise this was the first time I'd been in a suite.
- 3:47I'd been I'd been in a suite at the Durham Bulls back when I was
- 3:51living down there in Durham. Yeah, the only suite I've been
- 3:54into is a Broncos game and I think about it.
- 3:58Yeah, shout out, shout out meme legend Brandon Snyder, hometown
- 4:03hero, for the hook up for that at the Bulls game.
- 4:06That was clutch. But Major League wise, this was
- 4:08the 1st, first sweet experience that I'd had.
- 4:11So we walk in and I look over to to the counter where you know,
- 4:16you got the mini fridge, you got the ice, you got the the drinks
- 4:19in the fridge and the food laid out.
- 4:22You had your pizza, you had pepperoni and cheese.
- 4:24Sure, pep, pep and cheese. They had hot dogs for days with
- 4:30sauerkraut if you wanted that nice touch.
- 4:33Not, not necessarily. You're not that guy.
- 4:36You're not that guy. I'm not that guy.
- 4:37Nice touch, but not me. And then they had, we'll call
- 4:45them chicken poppers. They weren't exactly tenders,
- 4:47but it was basically tenders just like cut up into pieces.
- 4:51So that was a nice touch. And then they had Cokes and and
- 4:56beers in the fridge and some some popcorn, some some communal
- 5:01popcorn. Scoop a cup and you're on your
- 5:04way. That's big time.
- 5:05The popcorn is is arguably just like, you know it.
- 5:09This is the sweet that did it have like the seats that you can
- 5:12go out to? Yeah, I love.
- 5:16That two rows of five. So you're like, you're not going
- 5:19out there and you're not like overtaken by people.
- 5:22It was nice, very nice. Love that.
- 5:25Big fan. You guy, how many cokes did you
- 5:27have? Just one.
- 5:28I went back for a second and they were gone.
- 5:30We were hitting the Cokes pretty heavy as a as a group.
- 5:33I will say so did. You get your full on the food.
- 5:37I did. I did.
- 5:38You're in your money. I mean, right away I went, I
- 5:41went for the pizza. It wasn't even Ma's money.
- 5:43It was it was through work. But right away slice of pizza,
- 5:48two dogs and more tenders. And I'm, I'm probably proud to
- 5:53admit so they're. Cut up.
- 5:56Or cut up. Yeah.
- 5:56So I mean, it's basically nothing like those calories
- 5:59don't even exist at that point. But yeah, sure, it was good.
- 6:02All in all, it was good. Yeah, it's good stuff.
- 6:08I went to Costco. That's big.
- 6:11That's a the fact that you're alive, that's a win that I mean,
- 6:16on a Sunday, on a Sunday of all days.
- 6:22I'm physically nauseous still. Just would not.
- 6:25Like would not recommend. My rejection, my physical and
- 6:29mental. I don't do well at Costco.
- 6:34It could be a Tuesday and I'm just as unhappy.
- 6:38We've talked about this before, but I will, I will go to my
- 6:41grave saying that human awareness collectively is at an
- 6:47all time low at Costco. Believable.
- 6:51If anything, human awareness should be at an all time high
- 6:54because of everything that's going around going on around
- 6:57you. People get to Costco and they're
- 6:59like, all right, I don't have to.
- 7:02I don't have to be a, a law abiding citizen.
- 7:04I don't have to be a decent human being.
- 7:05Now I can, I can let go of the reins.
- 7:07How does that make sense? I could, I could just, I could
- 7:10just leave the cart right here and and then run and get my food
- 7:15while the cart's right in the middle of the aisle that that
- 7:18works. And then when I.
- 7:19Check out and go out to the parking lot and unload it.
- 7:22It's it's OK to leave in the middle of the road.
- 7:26No, like is that's what that's what we all do.
- 7:29No. So I'm going to go ahead and do
- 7:30that. Lawlessness.
- 7:33It's lawlessness. I had a guy stare at me.
- 7:35He's in the middle of the aisle and I'm like I, you know, you
- 7:38give that like a I'm going that way kind of and he's just
- 7:42looking at me. I'm like your semi truck of a
- 7:47cart is in the way. I need you to move.
- 7:50I need to get to the crackers. Please move.
- 7:54Real. They treat it like a personal
- 7:56shopping trip. And I get it, like you're there
- 7:58to shop. But people, people act as if
- 8:01they're the only ones there. They're stopping in the middle
- 8:03aisle, like scrolling through their shopping list.
- 8:06Unbelievable. And they're stopping and looking
- 8:08at the varieties. It's always the real snug
- 8:11aisles. I'll tell you what though, the
- 8:14the freezer section, it's like 115 today.
- 8:17So the freezer section, I was like, can we just.
- 8:20Let's just hang out. Just soak this in.
- 8:22I could see my breath and I'm like, oh.
- 8:24Break out the cards, maybe play some games while you're in there
- 8:27and just stay a while, you know all.
- 8:29Right. What a terrible place.
- 8:32Hey, Speaking of terrible, let's talk some baseball.
- 8:36Zach in the chat asked us to talk about Jackson Holiday.
- 8:38Zach, you best believe we're going to talk about Jackson
- 8:41Holiday. Relax, we're getting to Costco
- 8:43stuff OK. We are.
- 8:45We got to talk about the important things first.
- 8:47Jackson Holiday can wait. We have to talk Costco.
- 8:49OK, now we're going to talk some baseball here.
- 8:52Let's talk about the hold on. Let's let's go to let's go to
- 8:59thesaurus.com. I'm going to look up.
- 9:03I'm going to look up synonyms for awful, appalling, atrocious.
- 9:08That's a good one. Depressing, Dire, Disgusting,
- 9:13distressing, dreadful, frightful, ghastly, gruesome,
- 9:18harrowing, hideous, horrendous, horrible, horrific, horrifying,
- 9:23nasty, shocking, ugly, unpleasant.
- 9:28Chicago White Sox. I feel like if if if you're
- 9:33using dreadful or ghastly, you're from you're from the UK,
- 9:37you're not from here. Ghastly.
- 9:40Just ghastly dreadful. Bloody dreadful in it.
- 9:47In it. Bloody dreadful in it.
- 9:50Yeah, the White Sox are bloody dreadful in it. 20 games in a
- 9:56row. I put out a tweet last night.
- 9:58This was this was prior to the the 20th loss in a row today.
- 10:05I said if this and I put a screenshot of where they're at
- 10:07in the standings. And at the time it was 19
- 10:10straight. And I said, if the Chicago White
- 10:12Sox losing streak was an age, it would almost be able to legally
- 10:15drink. That's where we're at.
- 10:19And like, yeah, sure. It's funny to point out the the
- 10:22the obvious facts such as that, where it's like we're getting up
- 10:27there. But when you really stop to
- 10:29think about how bad this this season has been for the White
- 10:32Sox, it's it's horrendous. It's not don't forget it.
- 10:37It's not just this. They had a 14 game losing streak
- 10:41earlier in the season. Don't let the don't let the fact
- 10:44that they've lost twenty in a row distract you from the fact
- 10:46that they previously earlier in the year lost 14.
- 10:51And Frank Thomas had some excellent, he had an apartment
- 10:54is some apartment analysis on the the post game today.
- 10:58This is why some baseball guys need maybe, I don't know if I
- 11:03don't know if they're all, I don't know if they're all fit
- 11:06for TV. But he goes, he goes, you know,
- 11:08if you take the 14 game losing streak and the 20 game losing
- 11:11streak and combine them, they've lost 34 games in a row.
- 11:14And the other guys are like, yeah, Yep.
- 11:19That's that's how math works, Frank.
- 11:22Good math Big. Hurt, that's how that works.
- 11:24No, but I mean, it's silly, but he's right.
- 11:26It's it's crazy. Like, I mean, we're approaching
- 11:31historic records here. We're approaching.
- 11:35What do they? Need they?
- 11:36Need. What is it?
- 11:38It's like 14 or 15 wins. It's the.
- 11:42Would not be the worst. Oh, to, like, avoid the worst
- 11:49all time, you mean? Yeah, Yeah.
- 11:50So what I So what I know is that this is the longest streak since
- 11:55the 1988 O's dropped 21 in a row, which is the American
- 12:00League mark. The The 61 Phillies hold the
- 12:06National League record for 23 straight and somehow make this
- 12:13make sense. The The Major League low belongs
- 12:17to the 1889 Louisville Colonels. You know him, you love him.
- 12:24They. Drop Who's leading that stuff,
- 12:26you know? Let's let's do a quick deep
- 12:29dive. They lost 26 in a row and they
- 12:32finished 27 and 111. What did I say?
- 12:39The 1889, 1889 I know Baseball Reference has this.
- 12:49Yeah, here we go. 1889 Louisville, Colonel Colonels.
- 12:53Talk to me about that roster. Fire me up here.
- 12:56It's pronounced Colonel. It's the highest rank in the
- 12:58military. Shout out Creed Bratton.
- 13:02What are we? What am I looking at here?
- 13:04Just just just hammer home some names.
- 13:06Let's run through some names here.
- 13:08Paul Cook, Guy Hecker, Dan Shannon.
- 13:12These are all normal. Harry Raymond.
- 13:14Here you go. Farmer Weaver.
- 13:16There we go. Here we go.
- 13:17Chicken Wolf. There's no way that's a real
- 13:21guy. No, I don't.
- 13:23I don't care what you say. That's not.
- 13:24I'm looking at the guy's picture.
- 13:25That's AI. That's not a real man.
- 13:28Chicken Wolf. That's not a real man.
- 13:30He played right, short and 1st. No, no, you're not playing short
- 13:36and 1st. I don't care what era it is.
- 13:38That's not a real man. So yeah, you got Chicken Wolf.
- 13:41Who else we got on here? Fred.
- 13:46Carl. Dude.
- 13:48Esterbrook. Guy's name is Dude.
- 13:50That's nice. That's a sick mustache.
- 13:53What? Was his last name.
- 13:55Esterbrook. That's crazy good.
- 13:59I'm a big fan of that. Toad Ramsay was on their staff.
- 14:03Sure. Toad Ramsay.
- 14:05Tough year for Toad. Yeah, just just brutal, dude.
- 14:12Yeah, tough, tough year for. So I'm looking at the list but
- 14:17like I good old Wikipedia, you know 'cause can't beat it says
- 14:23modern era which is 19 O1 to now 'cause everyone I keep hearing
- 14:29like the 62 Mets but they only played 160 games.
- 14:34So like I'm trying to find where the 162 really bad record shows
- 14:40up and I don't think it shows up until the senators in 19 O nine
- 14:45with 42 wins. Socks here only have 27.
- 14:52Is that right? They're 27 and 87, right?
- 14:5560 games under 500, yeah. Dude, yeah.
- 15:00So that would mean fifteen wins. The they're, well, they're on
- 15:06pace to finish 38 and 124, which would be the most losses since
- 15:11the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. Again, no one will love them
- 15:15when they went 20 and 134. The 1899.
- 15:19Now that's a team we looked up and if you recall that had some.
- 15:29You want to talk about some hideous, hideous performance?
- 15:36Who is that one guy on the staff?
- 15:41We talked about this that went like, do you remember this?
- 15:47Do you remember us talking about this?
- 15:50Harry Cauliflower? That's a guy on the 1880. 9.
- 15:55These people are not real. Harry Cauliflower.
- 16:03Unbelievable. Yeah, we've talked about the
- 16:07them before, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders.
- 16:09You normally love them, but yeah, dude, the the White Sox.
- 16:12Give me give me your best guess without looking.
- 16:14When was the last time the White Sox won a game?
- 16:20I've got the answer, but I'm. Curious where where your head's
- 16:22at just start August just. Don't even think about it.
- 16:26Don't. Do math.
- 16:27Just don't. Even think about.
- 16:28It let's say 4th of July. July 10th was the last time they
- 16:33won a game. Wow, they beat Minnesota in game
- 16:37in the first game of doubleheader.
- 16:41I've got some more Nuggets here for you.
- 16:42The White Sox have been outscored 131 to 48.
- 16:50Here's a real nugget. They've only given up 141 runs
- 16:53a. 131 a. 131. I mean, yeah, but when you're
- 16:57scoring 48 over that span it. A lot of coasting from the
- 17:03opponent, you know. Yeah, that the White Sox
- 17:07broadcast that I mentioned where they were talking about this,
- 17:10they brought up the point that if you take out the 20 game
- 17:14losing streak and the 14 game losing streak, they still have
- 17:19the worst, the worst record in baseball.
- 17:23Take out those 34 losses. 34 dubs and.
- 17:27Kim 34 Dubs and they're still sitting at the bottom.
- 17:30That's how bad we're talking about.
- 17:31You want to talk about bad? Their manager?
- 17:35Pedro PD 100 games under 500 as White Sox manager, 100 games.
- 17:46Ozzy Guillen was gloating on the broadcast.
- 17:50He was. He was sitting there with a most
- 17:52smug smile. He's like, they picked this guy
- 17:54over me. This is the guy they went with
- 17:56over me. Ozzy is a different animal.
- 18:01The L 20 hits different when you're looking at the standings,
- 18:06you're just like W4 W 1L1L20. You almost kind of forget
- 18:11because you see the O in 10 and their last ten, you're like, oh
- 18:14man, they've really had a, they've had a bad stretch and
- 18:16then you're like, oh, just kidding, that's actually double
- 18:18that. Oh, you were saying 131 runs
- 18:20during this stretch during 20 games?
- 18:23Yes, they've been outscored 131 to 48 during the the streak.
- 18:28She's letting up 6 1/2 games or or six 6 1/2 running runs a
- 18:32game. That's crazy.
- 18:34Yep, 599 runs scored against them this year.
- 18:42That, by the way, falling 60 games under 500, like we
- 18:48mentioned, first time it's ever happened in in franchise
- 18:50history. You, I mean you want to talk
- 18:51about a team that's been around for a long time, Never been
- 18:55done. Never been done for the White
- 18:57Sox, first time ever. It's not since that the Rockies
- 19:00have let up more runs. The Rockies have given up 657
- 19:08runs. I mean, they're chilling.
- 19:12They're chilling, they're in a good spot.
- 19:14As long as the White Sox are still a viable Major League
- 19:18Baseball team, they're they're cool.
- 19:22Crazy bro this is just so sad. Yeah, just like we talked about
- 19:31you throw any one of those adjectives that we threw out at
- 19:34you from the jump at that pretty much applies to what we're
- 19:38looking at here in Chicago. And I'd frankly, I don't think
- 19:41it's, I don't think there's any, any desire, any hunger to, to
- 19:45turn that around anytime soon. I think frankly.
- 19:48I think they could have done more at the deadline personally.
- 19:52Still got some names on on that roster that could have moved.
- 19:56Well, I mean, we were just talking about it before we
- 19:57hopped on Louise. Robert has been worse than in
- 20:05terms of qualified hitters. He's got to be towards the
- 20:08bottom of the list over the last call it month.
- 20:12So he I think mentally he's he, he might be checked out because
- 20:16if we're being honest, he was probably looking at the deadline
- 20:19going, that's my ticket out of here.
- 20:21And then the White Sox like, no, no, no, we're going to, we're
- 20:24going to, we like seeing you miserable.
- 20:26We're going to keep you around. That's a big check out.
- 20:29You know, that's a big check out if you're like, you're not being
- 20:33moved. Yeah, talk about a let down man.
- 20:38You think there's a a half decent chance you get out of
- 20:43there and like, yeah, now we're good.
- 20:44Especially once Eloy went, you're like, yes, it's my turn
- 20:48now, just pull all evil and just like just hobble down the line
- 20:52for a second. You're like Coach Hamstring.
- 20:58I mean, it's, it's kind of different when you look at like
- 21:01crochet, because crochet at least is, you know, he's, he's
- 21:05making his demands mentally. He's at least aware of the
- 21:09season he's having and he's like, I'm going to make the best
- 21:11of this so that I can benefit myself moving forward.
- 21:15But from what I could tell, I think Louise Robert, for the
- 21:19most part, kind of kept his mouth shut regarding the
- 21:21deadline. And then I would imagine once he
- 21:25found out he was staying put, he was like, Nah, I could not care
- 21:30any less about this year or pretty much as long as I'm in a
- 21:36White Sox uniform. If this is the best it's going
- 21:38to be, if historically low performance out of this team is
- 21:43as good as it's going to get, I don't care.
- 21:47Can you give me any any positives around Andrew
- 21:51Benintendi? No, he going.
- 21:54Back to the He's going to have the worst season ever.
- 21:57Talking, going back to the qualified here, saying he's like
- 21:59at the bottom, I'm almost positive.
- 22:02And I think there's a gap, yeah. Like, I think he's holding on to
- 22:06that spot very safely. Yeah, but I don't know in terms
- 22:10of being how, where he's at in terms of being like on track to
- 22:15be the worst because I know at one point what a couple weeks
- 22:19ago that was the case. I haven't I haven't seen an
- 22:22update. I don't know how he's how he's
- 22:23done. I think he's.
- 22:24I like, yeah, there's a very real shot he'll have like a -2
- 22:28war when it's done. It's insane costing your team.
- 22:33It's insane. You'd be better off sitting
- 22:36Benintendi and playing with two Outfitters.
- 22:40I'd like to see it. Little Rover, Little Rover
- 22:43action. Why not mix it up to get out?
- 22:46Mix it up? I don't know.
- 22:50Tough. Depressing.
- 22:52Tough, Just get rid. Just move.
- 22:54Just I'm done. I'm done with the White Sox.
- 22:57I'm done. I'm done.
- 23:01Just move. Just get out of Chicago is run
- 23:03by the Cubs. And it's clear that like, it
- 23:05doesn't matter how good or bad the Cubs are, like this is not
- 23:10your city. Go somewhere else.
- 23:14Start. Start fresh.
- 23:18I can't wait to see the comments on that video when I make it
- 23:21talking about how well you're a Yankees fan.
- 23:23Your opinions invalid. Yeah, I know.
- 23:25That's yeah. That's like a universally agreed
- 23:28upon truth that the White Sox are forever the little brother
- 23:33of Chicago. They probably do need to sell
- 23:35the team, but because you're a Yankees fan dude.
- 23:39I'm not allowed to say anything. You're not allowed to say
- 23:40anything. In fact, I there there probably
- 23:43will be people that come out in defense of the White Sox because
- 23:48of the fact that you're a Yankees fan and go easy there,
- 23:52buddy. Yeah, chill out, guy.
- 23:54Best team in baseball, actually. Yeah.
- 23:57You don't know what you're talking about.
- 23:59That's that's what we deal with. You remember when they like when
- 24:01Bryce was a free agent and they were like kind of vying for him
- 24:07a little bit. Yeah, I remember the I remember
- 24:10the photo shops are the jersey swap, the Jersey swaps.
- 24:13I remember seeing those. Yeah, yeah, he look, he look
- 24:17good in a in a socks uni. I'm not going to lie, you really
- 24:20did. I do like the uniform.
- 24:22The black and white is clean. It's just not Team sucks.
- 24:28Yeah, team sucks. Stadium's a dump too.
- 24:30It's boring. There's nothing going on there.
- 24:33Nothing. Let's switch gears here.
- 24:36Talk Blake Snell, arguably the hottest pitcher over the last
- 24:45month, five weeks in baseball. I mean, it's, it's crazy.
- 24:52Throws a no hitter on Friday, the 3rd no hitter in Major
- 25:00League Baseball this year struck out 11 / 114 pitches and it was
- 25:07the first time first time in his career that he pitched into the
- 25:129th. I mean, that's just a lot of.
- 25:16Walks is a lot of walks. He walks a lot of guys.
- 25:19He goes deep in accounts. Deep in accounts, yeah.
- 25:22I mean he obviously was able to do it a little bit more
- 25:24efficiently given that he, I mean he threw what I say 114.
- 25:30But yeah, first time pitching, or I mean first complete game
- 25:37was the first time he had done that in 202 starts.
- 25:44What what do you mean he's how do you say this is the first
- 25:48time going in the ninth? Well, I'm yeah, that career
- 25:52starts. Career starts first complete
- 25:54game. He's only made 202 career
- 25:57starts. Yeah, and I think let me make
- 26:01sure I got it right here. Only only two pitchers have made
- 26:06more starts before their first 9 Indian complete game, and no
- 26:11pitcher has made more starts at a time of a no hitter as their
- 26:15first complete game. That's a mouthful, but it's a
- 26:17nugget that I found. All in all, this was a long time
- 26:22coming for Blake's now and honestly, you know.
- 26:24In Cincy, too, which like, let's talk about hitter ballparks, you
- 26:28know what I mean? Yeah.
- 26:30And I know we were talking about earlier, like good on the people
- 26:34that kind of saw this coming, because I've seen a lot of
- 26:37material surface about how he, how he pitches in the
- 26:41second-half and the numbers are astounding.
- 26:44So good on the people that actually were, were paying
- 26:46attention to this because I was, I was just so consumed with the
- 26:50start to the year. And it wasn't just like, oh,
- 26:53he's having a rough year. It was the nature in which the
- 26:55year or, or the nature in which the events transpired, like the,
- 27:03the bore stuff, the the delayed start, the pitching it, the, or
- 27:06the getting, getting the reps in at Boris HQ.
- 27:09It was just a very strange start.
- 27:11So I, I kept seeing the tweets about like, well, just hang
- 27:15tight. The second-half are always
- 27:17better. And I'm like, I don't this this
- 27:18year might be a little different.
- 27:20I don't know if we can, we can trust that.
- 27:22But it seems as though he's, he's logged enough Indians and
- 27:26enough starts at this point in the season that maybe he's, he's
- 27:32shaking that first half off and he's resuming.
- 27:36But what he does in the second-half and the way he's
- 27:40done it over the course of his career and it's, it's elite
- 27:44stuff. I mean, you want to talk about
- 27:46his last five starts, Hitters are 8 for 103 over his last five
- 27:53starts. And in those five start and I,
- 27:57I, I, I mentioned five starts because that's how how many he's
- 28:00had since returning from the IL In those five starts has posted
- 28:05a .55 ERA. Decent.
- 28:10This is what he does. This is what he does in the
- 28:13second-half. And we were like I said, we were
- 28:16talking like, is this is this dude washed?
- 28:18Like is is this the beginning of the end for Blake Snow?
- 28:21I mean, I don't know if we ever I don't ever.
- 28:23I don't know if we made it that far down the rabbit hole, but it
- 28:26just wasn't looking good. And he seems to be fine and at A
- 28:29at a time that could not have worked out better for the Giants
- 28:34in in a situation where they're scratching and clawing for for
- 28:41what, I don't know. But I mean, they're as of right
- 28:43now, they're game under 500. There's a lot of teams that
- 28:47there was like what, five or six teams that checked in on them at
- 28:50the deadline. I thought I remember seeing like
- 28:53checked in three, maybe it may, it may have been more, I'm sure,
- 28:56but I think officially it was like maybe three or four.
- 29:05I was looking at because I was looking at his start in very
- 29:12heavy fastball, curveball start. Like there's normally a decent
- 29:18amount of change ups and sliders that he makes in that he mixes
- 29:22in throughout his career. Yeah, 'cause I'm looking at his
- 29:26baseball savant, like there's like 15% change UPS, 11%
- 29:34sliders. But it didn't look that way for
- 29:37this. I mean, it was almost like it
- 29:40was very, very heavy on fastball.
- 29:42Curveball. Fastball is a dotting up.
- 29:46Fastball is just hitting spots. Curveball David Cohen always
- 29:53talks about in his in his like any time he's in the in the
- 29:56booth, whether it's ESPN or Yankees games, he talks about
- 29:59like if you can place your curveball over the plate, Like
- 30:03there's so many guys that like this sweeping curveball that
- 30:06like kind of takes it away from the plate or stays outside is a
- 30:09little easier for hitters to take.
- 30:11And this one's like if you started over the plate and try
- 30:14to land it on the plate and you saw that happen a few times in
- 30:17his start, it looked good. But my notes, I mean, like when
- 30:21you look at like how there's the Reds have like a few athletic
- 30:24names. You know, there's a few names
- 30:27that like you could anything, you know, like a a swinging bunt
- 30:31down the third baseline that there's a few hitters in that
- 30:33lineup that are like that's a knock.
- 30:36And it just didn't happen and didn't look like anything crazy
- 30:42defensively that that needed to happen.
- 30:47When you talk about like somewhat of a hitter's ball, a
- 30:49lot of a hitter's ballpark, not a very big outfield.
- 30:54You can play deep and and you can get some balls.
- 30:56And there was a few that like look like they may have been
- 30:59headed for the gap and nothing. I think there was that Lena at
- 31:03second base that they doubled off somebody at first.
- 31:07Other than that, like there wasn't a lot that was hard hit,
- 31:11just avoided barrels. Well, I mean, there were a lot
- 31:14of fly ball outs. It wasn't, it wasn't anything
- 31:17threatening in that regard. But I mean, it was either I, I
- 31:21mean, I would venture say the of the outs that weren't
- 31:24strikeouts, it probably was like 7580% fly ball outs.
- 31:31So I mean, he was like he was inducing contact.
- 31:33It wasn't maybe the, the type of contact he would have you would
- 31:36have hoped for, because some of those maybe if you catch a
- 31:40little bit sweeter part of the barrel, maybe the, the the
- 31:43launch angle's a little different, might be looking at a
- 31:45different situation. But yeah, I mean, they, they
- 31:49weren't the contact that he did get was not was not threatening.
- 31:53It was just a lot of fly ball, strikeout type outs.
- 31:57Awkward celebration too. We were talking about that
- 32:00before we hopped on. Yeah, the hug, the hug was very
- 32:03was very strange. And what was weird is that the
- 32:05the giants actually like tweeted the they're like that that no
- 32:11hit or hug. And I'm like, don't bring
- 32:12attention to it. This is this is this is silly
- 32:15it. Was weird.
- 32:16They were like, there was only like three of them at the mound.
- 32:18They're like. They're kind of like holding
- 32:20each other's waist, like bopping up and down.
- 32:22I'm like what? Is get some, get some hopping
- 32:24where the boys, you know, Strange man.
- 32:28Strange, but good for. Good for Blake's now, good for
- 32:32the Giants, I guess. I don't know I the pointless.
- 32:39Yeah. No, no, no, no, no.
- 32:40We're. Not doing that, no.
- 32:41We're not doing that. We're not doing that today.
- 32:45It's not pointless. It, I mean, technically
- 32:48speaking, it's not pointless. They're 4 1/2 back out of the
- 32:52wild card. The Vision's a lost cause.
- 32:56But 4 1/2 back, I mean, with a run differential of -11 I don't
- 33:01know what October would even really look like for you.
- 33:05Probably short lived. But I mean, just get to the
- 33:10dance, I guess if you're the Giants, I don't.
- 33:11Know I mean the Cardinals are tuned out back with -38 run
- 33:15differentials, so. Yeah, but they're only 5 back,
- 33:19only 5 back from the Brewers. So that it's just that it's it's
- 33:22based on the division you play. And we we know this, it's that's
- 33:25no surprise. But yeah, the Giants certainly
- 33:28have an uphill bet. I mean, you got to you got to
- 33:30jump a handful of teams. But anyway, let's let's talk
- 33:36Jackson Holiday. We actually the last time we
- 33:40recorded because we had to record early due to the the
- 33:45trade deadline recap. We usually record on a
- 33:47Wednesday, but we recorded last Tuesday.
- 33:50So we haven't even talked since I was at the Orioles game last
- 33:53week. The the day after the deadline,
- 33:56Jackson Holiday gets called up, hits his first career home run
- 34:00has he's hit his second career home run since then, but last
- 34:04Wednesday was his first first career home run Grand Slam.
- 34:07That was I texted you like immediately and I'm like, dude,
- 34:12that and and I know that gets thrown around a lot, but I'm
- 34:15like that ball sounded different.
- 34:18Yeah. I mean he got a hold of that one
- 34:21that got it marked on Utah St. like right away.
- 34:25That's a cool. First one.
- 34:26I love that. A cool first one being on Utah,
- 34:29like that's, that's cool. You said Hampel.
- 34:32Was there. Yeah.
- 34:34Thankfully, I think we can or Yeah, No, we can't officially
- 34:37report that he didn't get it because if you saw the video,
- 34:41yeah, if you saw the video after the game, it was a it was a
- 34:43father and son combo got to meet Jackson, exchanged the ball.
- 34:47I think he gave him a signed bat or something That that was cool.
- 34:51Props to Dad. Dad said all the right things.
- 34:54Oh yeah. It's like, you know, just if my
- 34:56son ends up being in this position someday, I hope someone
- 34:59would return the favor. Oh yeah, for sure.
- 35:01Love that. Bang.
- 35:03Here's what I would do. I would just give me a meet up,
- 35:05give me a handshake, a picture, something signed, be on our way.
- 35:09Yeah, I mean, to be able to say you you were the guy that handed
- 35:13off his first career home run, hopefully assuming he goes on to
- 35:16have a a special career. I mean, that's that's pretty
- 35:19cool. Here's a question though, if you
- 35:22were the dad, because I thought about this myself watching the
- 35:26video. I'm like, if you're like, how
- 35:28how old do you think that guy was?
- 35:30Like 42. Yeah, I was going to say like
- 35:343840. 38 we'll call it, we'll call it twice his age.
- 35:38We'll, we'll, we'll put him at 40.
- 35:40Jackson what? Jackson's 20.
- 35:41We'll, we'll call it 40. What are you thinking as, as, as
- 35:46a dad in that situation? Like are you, are you kind of
- 35:48like nervous or are you like, like, 'cause you're like this?
- 35:51I mean, this is Jackson Holiday. It's not just some scrub high
- 35:55schooler off the OR some, you know, like college kid off the
- 35:58street like Jackson Holiday. But at the same time, I've been
- 36:01on this planet twice as long as you have.
- 36:05Yeah. I.
- 36:08Think it does get weird. I think we're we're crossing
- 36:11into that territory where it does get weird because like,
- 36:15luckily we still have guys that are playing that are our age.
- 36:18It's going to get to a point where it's like this is this is
- 36:21just weird. We're just watching kids, just
- 36:23watching kids play. Yeah, and I, I feel like kids
- 36:26are getting called up earlier and earlier now, so soon it's
- 36:29going to be like you're going to be 50 years old watching like 17
- 36:32year olds. Imagine if it was with another
- 36:34grown man. Imagine if he was with another
- 36:3640 year old. Just take the kid out of the
- 36:38picture. There's just two homies at the
- 36:40game. I don't know if I can bring
- 36:42myself to to organize that meet up.
- 36:45I I don't know if I want to be in that situation.
- 36:47I would concur. I think I would give it to an
- 36:49official. Then I would ask for something
- 36:52different. I don't know if I want the meet
- 36:54up. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:56Make the team Rep handle that. Yeah, the kid makes it a lot
- 36:59better. It's a nice buffer.
- 37:00Yeah, yeah. It's a nice buffer.
- 37:04Cool moment either way. Cool moment either way.
- 37:10I saw your video that like you could see like this sea of
- 37:14people that just rushed towards. It was crazy, dude, It was
- 37:17crazy. But you had a good angle because
- 37:19you were up in that third deck and you could just see like
- 37:22everyone just rushed to Utah. If my Internet and I told one of
- 37:27the the other camp counselors that I was there with because
- 37:30that for those of you who don't know, I was like every like
- 37:32occasionally for my job, I get to go on these like cool trips
- 37:35and one of them is a baseball game.
- 37:38And so I was talking to one of the camp counselors that I was
- 37:40with and I was like, if the Internet, if my Internet signal
- 37:43had been better, I could have said that I would have been the
- 37:46first person to have the Jackson holiday home run on social
- 37:49media. But because my Internet was like
- 37:52buffering, the video was just like still uploading, still
- 37:55uploading. And I finally got it off.
- 37:57And I was, I think I was third. I went back and checked because
- 38:01I knew, I knew Twitter was going to be the first one where where
- 38:04these videos were going to start cropping up.
- 38:06And I think I was like third in line.
- 38:08I was like, that would have been a cool as like a social media
- 38:11geek like that. I nerd out about stuff like
- 38:13that. That would have been that would
- 38:15have been kind of cool, but then then pan out.
- 38:18But still cool moment nonetheless.
- 38:19I'm I'm just grateful Zach Campbell didn't get it because
- 38:22like I said, I. That meet up would have never
- 38:23happened if Ample got it. No, no, no.
- 38:27The guy hates baseball. That's that's a valid point.
- 38:33Goon. But yeah, that that home run
- 38:37seems to have gotten gotten the monkey on his back.
- 38:42It seems to have unlocked unlocked the Jackson holiday
- 38:45that I think we were hoping and expecting or hoping for and
- 38:48expecting. In the five games since the call
- 38:50up, he's 7 for 18. He's got two home runs, seven
- 38:54ribbies and five runs scored. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:58I was looking up some video and any of my, any of my, any of my
- 39:05mechanics nerds, I'll go, I'll go righty, I'll go righty, any
- 39:10of my mechanics nerds. So when he first he has this
- 39:15flick where he will come this way and then it'll settle back,
- 39:20right? So he's here and then it'll
- 39:23flick up and then back. This is exactly why you need to
- 39:26be watching on YouTube by the way.
- 39:27When he first came up, he was getting here and it wasn't
- 39:33getting all the way back. It was still kind of like
- 39:35straight up. So when you're super straight
- 39:37up, there's only a few hitters that do well that's super
- 39:39straight up. But if you're super straight up,
- 39:41you're going to lose that barrel a little too early back here and
- 39:46that that point you're late. He was also very tight.
- 39:49So when you're straight up and tight, you got to go out and
- 39:52back and then you're going to get beat on stuff inside and
- 39:56you're probably not going to be able to hit anything solid away,
- 39:59you know, flare everything that's away.
- 40:01So now that that he's flick is kind of like if anybody's
- 40:06listened to hitters before, they think about like knob to
- 40:09catcher. So now on that flick's
- 40:10happening, it's knob to catcher. He's got a little more space
- 40:13this way and it's it has worked. You can see that like he drove
- 40:17the ball. Was it today or yesterday that
- 40:19second home run with the left? Right, so.
- 40:23No. Both have been to right.
- 40:24Both have been to right. Oh, is that an old video then?
- 40:26Yeah, I think so. No, no, you're right.
- 40:27That was in Cleveland. Yeah.
- 40:29So he had one, right. But just a little more
- 40:32clearance. He can.
- 40:33He can just get to stuff easier. He's controlling his barrel
- 40:36better. I think it's just like a minor
- 40:38thing. And there's a few hitters where
- 40:40you can kind of see that, like DJ Lemahieu is doing something
- 40:44similar where he's like super tall.
- 40:47And the older you get, the less you control that top hand, the
- 40:50less you control your barrel. All that stuff happens.
- 40:52But anyway, it looks good. That was fun.
- 40:56I like that. That might be the first time
- 40:57we've ever had mechanics with Nate on.
- 41:01I love, I love hitting. I love hitting.
- 41:03That was fun. That's a simple one.
- 41:06That's a simple one that a lot of people don't pay attention
- 41:08to. But yeah, little stuff like that
- 41:13we need more of. That that's what that's what D
- 41:16row does on the MOV network. We need to get a little version
- 41:18of that on the on three. I take get people to watch super
- 41:21down watch on YouTube. Super super down.
- 41:24Big fan of that so yeah, good good for Jackson Holiday and
- 41:30I'll pat myself on the back. That was a quality and a very
- 41:33very timely. No, no, no, no, no.
- 41:35I'm, I'm talking about the fantasy pickup, very quality,
- 41:38very timely pickup in fantasy because I, I knew people were
- 41:41racing to pick him up, but had a little bit of a true.
- 41:46Dude did a. Little bit of a research deep
- 41:49dive. The day before he got called up
- 41:52and I knew it was coming so. I've been on cruise control.
- 41:54I'm going to be honest with you, I've been on cruise control.
- 41:56As you should be. You're top.
- 41:58You're top dog in the league right now.
- 42:00Yeah, it's time to turn it on. Time to lock in.
- 42:03See now this is. This is the equivalent of the
- 42:07expanded or the, the, the, the buy they get in the postseason.
- 42:12Like The Who was it the Braves were complaining about a year or
- 42:15two ago where they're like, oh, we had this layoff.
- 42:17We we can't true. We can't, we can't win games
- 42:20'cause we've been we're rested. This is what this is the the
- 42:24battle you're now fighting. You're gonna be off for the next
- 42:27two weeks. That's right.
- 42:28That's right. And you're gonna have to, you're
- 42:30gonna have to keep it, keep it sharp up here.
- 42:32That's true, my friend. I've already like, started doing
- 42:35fantasy football research, you know, just in this time.
- 42:38Oh, he's got, he's done. If you're listening, he's done.
- 42:41He's gone. He's he's gone.
- 42:42It's over. It's over for Nate.
- 42:45Doing other things in life, it's freed up a lot of space.
- 42:51It's over. Not me, dude.
- 42:52I'm I'm hungry. I'm I don't have the luxury of
- 42:55having a buy. So I'm going to be, I'm going to
- 42:57be fighting. I'm going to be the fighting
- 43:00fills of this fantasy league. I'm just going to get, you got a
- 43:02game for me to play. I'll play it.
- 43:05I don't. I don't need.
- 43:06I don't need days off. Your roster stupid if you read
- 43:10out loud what your roster? We don't.
- 43:12We don't need to do that. We don't need to do that.
- 43:15Laugh. Don't need to do that.
- 43:18Let's talk about let's talk about Mike Trout.
- 43:23This should be the last time we have to talk about him for the
- 43:25rest of the year because he is officially out for the season
- 43:31again. We recorded like Tuesday.
- 43:33So this has happened since then. I think it was announced on
- 43:35Thursday. Yeah, due to the meniscus.
- 43:40Meniscus tear. I think the last time we talked
- 43:43Trout, it was that he they kind of throttled back on the rehab.
- 43:48They pulled him from his, that one.
- 43:50Game he had one AB in that it was the.
- 43:52First game back, right? The first rehab.
- 43:56Yeah. First rehab game I think.
- 43:59Did he even swing a bat? Did he even swing?
- 44:02Yeah, he had, I think it was two ABS, right, Because then you
- 44:04have. One or two?
- 44:06One or two. Strikeouts or you?
- 44:08I think maybe it was one strikeout.
- 44:09They were backwards, Ki do know that.
- 44:11I just don't know if he swung at any other point in that at bat.
- 44:16Either way, not not good. Very short lived.
- 44:25That's all I really got, honestly.
- 44:27I mean, what else is there to say?
- 44:29I mean, how, how many times can we rehash the Mike Trout
- 44:36conversation? And I'm not for the record, I'm
- 44:40not, I'm not giving up on the guy.
- 44:42I'm still holding out for that one year, like I've said time
- 44:46and time again, but I mean, honestly, I'm more disappointed
- 44:55in, in whatever's going on behind closed doors with the
- 44:59training staff and, and, and the personnel in that organization.
- 45:04How many times have we heard the whole like, he's on track to
- 45:08come back. He's fine, expected to come back
- 45:11at a certain date. And then you can just at this
- 45:14point in time with the Angels, given their track record of the
- 45:17last, I don't know, half decade, decade, you can just assume the
- 45:22guy's done for the year. I mean, that's where that's
- 45:26where we're really at. So honestly, my frustration
- 45:29doesn't lie as heavily with Mike Trout for for this particular
- 45:33instance. It's more of like, what are we
- 45:34Angels? What are we doing?
- 45:35And we we rag on, we rag on Rendon all the time.
- 45:39But even he was like, yeah, I don't know why, but I don't know
- 45:42why they didn't update people on like where I'm at with my injury
- 45:46and the fact that I've like won't be playing or whatever he
- 45:48said. It was.
- 45:49I think it was the last major injury had last year, I think.
- 45:53But I mean that it's you can't really say anything else.
- 45:58It it's the same thing time and time again.
- 46:01I'd rather be an Angel in a White Sox.
- 46:02Still, at least you're in California, you know?
- 46:08Yeah, yeah, that's, that's pretty much all I've got working
- 46:11for him at that point. Yeah, I don't know.
- 46:15Man, Yeah. I mean, why?
- 46:16Oh, man, do you imagine having that team or being a fan of that
- 46:19team and then you're in Chicago. Yeah.
- 46:21I mean, no offensive folks in Chicago, but like Chicago, the
- 46:28pizza can't be that good. I mean, I'm sure it's good, but
- 46:31not enough to keep you sane through something like this.
- 46:33I. Don't know.
- 46:33It's like a casserole just doesn't get me fired up.
- 46:38I yeah, I don't know, man. I, I don't think anything was
- 46:44going to happen. I had a feeling nothing was
- 46:46going to happen. I had a feeling that we were
- 46:48going to see this same old story where there's timetable set
- 46:54back, timetable set back. It's what we always get.
- 46:59I I don't like being right all the time, you know what I mean?
- 47:07Yeah, You know, I will say in in the chat here, Ryan Ryan says
- 47:10Ron Washington probably regrets taking that angel's job.
- 47:13I've had that same thought. And you know, my, I mean, my
- 47:17thoughts on the whole Ron Washington thing.
- 47:19I think they've, they've, I wouldn't even say they've
- 47:24wavered because I mean, if you, if you go back to the day he
- 47:26took the job, we were like, no, he was, we didn't, we didn't
- 47:31want him in this role. We really didn't frankly want
- 47:34him in any manager role. We just wanted him to stay under
- 47:37the he really did. He had it made in the shade.
- 47:41Continue to fly under the radar as an infield coach with a
- 47:44quality team and just. I just, I like I'm so I just so
- 47:50confused as to like, if you have this burning desire to be back,
- 47:55which I understand, like if you had, if you were a manager, you
- 48:00know, weren't, I mean, he managed in World Series, you
- 48:04know what I'm saying? Like he was doing his thing in
- 48:07Texas. When you don't get over the
- 48:10hump, you don't cross that final finish line.
- 48:13And then you have like your name kind of, you know, dragged
- 48:18through the mud a little bit of his of his past.
- 48:21Like those are some things that are tough to get over.
- 48:24And I'm sure there was like this desire to be like, let me, let
- 48:26me come back and prove that that's not me.
- 48:29I think I think Ron Washington is an excellent coach.
- 48:33I think he's an excellent coach. This just wasn't the right spot.
- 48:38This wasn't where you were going to go.
- 48:40Prove yourself. What was that?
- 48:44What was I about to say before the Ron Washington thing?
- 48:47Where was I going with that? What were we talking about just
- 48:49before the Ron Washington comment?
- 48:51My Trout not playing ever White Sox.
- 48:56Would you rather be a White Sox? What was I going to say?
- 49:02I had a thought and I lost it. We switch gears.
- 49:06Talk about Ron Washington. That's fine.
- 49:09Yeah, it's then you ran down. No, I don't remember.
- 49:13Whatever. It'll come back to me when we're
- 49:17when we're closing up the episode.
- 49:19Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it, it's really
- 49:29hard for me to to maintain this, this fandom of, of Mike Trout,
- 49:35like, I'm, I'm going to continue.
- 49:39But you, you keep getting reminded.
- 49:41Like, I mean, there's this literally, literally this very
- 49:44point in the chat. Mike Trout wanted this.
- 49:47Let him live this, let him live the rest of his career out.
- 49:51And let's move, let's move on to Mookie and Choi.
- 49:54It's really hard to ignore the fact that like he did choose
- 49:56this. So I you.
- 50:01I was, I look like I'm not a my child hater, but I was against
- 50:05the the commitment. Yes, that's what it was.
- 50:07That's what it was. That's what we're talking about.
- 50:09We're talking about the the video about you being right.
- 50:14The, the timing was a little sorry, I completely cut you off.
- 50:20Go go ahead. I just got excited because I, it
- 50:22took me way less time to remember that than I thought it
- 50:24would. No, the the comments I've
- 50:28noticed have shifted on that video.
- 50:30That's, that's been popping off a little bit for us.
- 50:32There were people like on TikTok, people were like.
- 50:37Go follow us on TikTok if you're not.
- 50:39On TikTok, I can't remember if you were rocket.
- 50:42Were you rocking Yankee gear in that video?
- 50:44I think we were just getting a lot of like, Oh yeah, people
- 50:46were like. What does this?
- 50:48Guy know? Yeah.
- 50:50What does this guy know? And the Yankee fan worry about
- 50:54your oh Dame. And this was this was after the
- 50:59he got pulled from the rehab start.
- 51:01Yeah, yeah, you're oh, you're full on Yankee stuff.
- 51:04But the point was, is that you were talking about you signed
- 51:08the contract and then like every year before that, it was like
- 51:13150 games, 155 games, 151 games. And then you're like, why
- 51:18explain the fall off like and people like, well, he's old.
- 51:23He was in 2019. What 2928?
- 51:33People are acting like he's ancient.
- 51:35I'm like, that's not it. No, don't.
- 51:38That's what I'm saying. Don't give me the age.
- 51:40And then it comes out that the season's over yet again.
- 51:43And then it's like the comments have shifted a little bit.
- 51:45And you're like, yeah, the the comments are really, yeah, this
- 51:48guy's washed. Like guys should just retire.
- 51:50I'm like, well, I mean, we've kind of been saying this.
- 51:56I'm just saying, like, when does it shift from like sad that
- 51:59we're not seeing him into like frustration?
- 52:02And when, when are we going to ask those questions?
- 52:04Because we always ask those questions than every sport all
- 52:08the time. Anytime an athlete is is
- 52:12completely healthy until payday and then all of a sudden he's
- 52:15missing games constantly. You're like, we, we, we, why are
- 52:21we not doing that with my Trout? We've done it with every other
- 52:24guy ever. That's all I'm saying.
- 52:27I'm not saying he's that guy, but I'm saying like, why aren't
- 52:29more people bringing that argument up?
- 52:33The guy has always been healthy until this, so whatever, I don't
- 52:39know. But he he, he committed to this.
- 52:42He committed to LA, he committed to the angels.
- 52:45And I think there was maybe a point a few years ago where like
- 52:49if he wanted to go, he could have gone.
- 52:52But. I, I've, I'm going to ride the
- 52:59fence for the rest of his career.
- 53:01All that I see both sides of it. I like I understand him
- 53:05committing to that when he did, assuming that they were
- 53:09conversations had of Hey, we're going to surround you with the
- 53:13right pieces, you know, show hey rolls into town.
- 53:15It's like all right, that's a great start.
- 53:17That was what, 8/20/18. So I guess like right around the
- 53:21time, maybe a little bit before he signs a contract, it's like,
- 53:24all right, that's a great way to get things going.
- 53:27And then which honestly, I mean, how much can you really credit
- 53:31the Angels for that? I mean, Shohei was the guy that
- 53:34was essentially deciding at that point.
- 53:36Like I'm sure he had his pick of where he wanted to go.
- 53:39Like he I'm not, I'm going to cautiously give Angels credit
- 53:43there. I don't know.
- 53:46But it's like you can only fault him so much for the committing
- 53:49to Los Angeles because it's like, do you think in his time,
- 53:55like in in his mind during the the stretch that he's been with
- 54:00the Angels, Do you think he he could have seen an Angels draft
- 54:04where they selected almost like sarcastically, almost like
- 54:09mockingly drafted nothing but pitchers as a way for them to be
- 54:15like, see, we showed you like that's not how it's a.
- 54:17Lot of that, yeah. It's not how your front office
- 54:19should be running. No, that's weird.
- 54:22It's a weird thing to do. Like why you, you shouldn't be
- 54:25making moves to appease your, your fans, you should be making
- 54:28moves to make your team better. And if you upset some people
- 54:31along the way, so be it. But I, I don't think Mike Trout
- 54:34could have, have, could have foreseen that coming.
- 54:37And then just with how, how bad they've been, like they
- 54:40couldn't, they couldn't do anything to support the two at
- 54:45the time. 2 best players in baseball.
- 54:47They go on to do absolutely nothing.
- 54:50Mike Trout still hasn't been to the postseason since 2014.
- 54:54So it's like, yes, I, I get the whole like committing thing, but
- 55:00on the flip side, it's like I think he was maybe hoping for
- 55:03just a little bit more than what they've given him.
- 55:05So I I see both sides of it. Is there an angel's curse?
- 55:16People call them the Mets of the West Coast.
- 55:19They've they've been saying that for some time.
- 55:21I like that nickname. The Mets of the West.
- 55:25I mean, you go down the list, Josh Hamilton, Anthony Rendon.
- 55:30I guess Albert Willis just got old.
- 55:35You know what I mean? Like, I guess that contract
- 55:37wasn't horrendous. Yeah, just got old.
- 55:41Yeah, and Rendon's even different than Trout, too,
- 55:44because he's just, he hasn't been good like Mike Trout when
- 55:46he's healthy. I mean, he's, he's still one of
- 55:48the best in the game, but it's just a matter of how, how often
- 55:53and how how long you get that from him before the next injury.
- 55:57So I, I don't know it, like I said when we started the
- 56:04segment, I, I think this is the last time we we talked about
- 56:07Trout until what, what was the timetable?
- 56:10Was it just like we'll see opening day?
- 56:13I think so. I think that's fair.
- 56:15I think that's fair, no? I mean, I, I know he's done for
- 56:17the year, but like, this wasn't a thing where it's like, oh,
- 56:20he's going to need like a year of, of recovery and rehab.
- 56:25Like we'll just see him opening day again.
- 56:26I I I presume. We'll see when the timetables,
- 56:30the timetables come out, the estimates, I love when those
- 56:33come out 'cause they're never right.
- 56:36Yeah, the Angels need to figure it out.
- 56:42All right, kind of wrapping up here, just looking at the
- 56:46playoff picture now that we have entered, this is our first like
- 56:51I think first episode of of August, of the month of August.
- 56:53So figured it'd be a good time to kind of check in with where
- 56:56we're at in the standings. Looking at the American League
- 57:02East, the O's and Yanks are neck and neck.
- 57:06It's 67 and 46. I think as predicted, that's
- 57:10that's going to be a race down the stretch that's going to be
- 57:13extremely entertaining. I think the Yankees have righted
- 57:17the ship the the Orioles, maybe to a lesser degree, but they're
- 57:22six and four in their last 10. I think I saw on the broadcast
- 57:26too that the Yankees have like the third easiest remaining
- 57:29schedule. Yeah, I heard.
- 57:31Something it's going to make things interesting as well.
- 57:36Yeah. And then the the Red Sox are, I
- 57:40mean, they're 6 1/2 out and the divisions kind of fall falling
- 57:44out of out of reach. But that wasn't really the plan
- 57:47to begin with. But it's nice to be able to say
- 57:49that you you're you at least put up a fight for it.
- 57:51I. Was going to ask you at what
- 57:53point are you going to stop rooting for the Royals because
- 57:56they're kind of a problem for you.
- 57:58They're very much a problem, but well, I mean, let's look at the
- 58:01wild card. I mean, right now the the well,
- 58:06I mean the Yankees and O's are tied for the top spot, but then
- 58:08you have the Twins and the Royals immediately after and the
- 58:11the Sox are 2 1/2 back. So perfect scenario.
- 58:15Give the East to well, I mean, perfect scenario would be the
- 58:18Sox just going to run and win the division, but we'll put him
- 58:22in the wild card forsake of of the scenario here.
- 58:26Give the East to the E to the O's of the Yankees.
- 58:28Get the Twins out of there. We well documented how we feel
- 58:32about the Twins and then get the get the socks in that second
- 58:35wild card spot and then keep the Royals in that third wild card
- 58:40spot so that my, my, my pre season prediction of them
- 58:44sliding into the final wild card spot can come true.
- 58:47I've been holding on to that all year long.
- 58:50And if the season ended today, which it doesn't, but if it did,
- 58:54I'm, I'm one for one on that, on that prediction.
- 58:56And that that's that would probably be my most proud
- 58:59prediction, 'cause people were coming at me for the Royals.
- 59:01And I'm like, are you seeing what they did?
- 59:04Are you seeing who they have? Like it seems, seems like a
- 59:06very, yeah, great deadline. Seems like a very reasonable
- 59:10take. People were coming after me.
- 59:12I don't know. But then you got the Astros and
- 59:15the Rays both five games out. And then, I mean, do we do we
- 59:20draw the line there? But I mean, the Rangers are 9
- 59:221/2 back. We draw the line there.
- 59:24From the wild card, not we're not talking to Vision 9 1/2 back
- 59:27in the wild card. You're going to have to if
- 59:29you're the, if you're the Rangers and they're talking
- 59:31about on the broadcast today, if you're the Rangers, you're going
- 59:33to have to win the division to make the postseason.
- 59:35They're 5 1/2 back in the West. So that's kind of what we're.
- 59:39Working 5 1/2 back in the division.
- 59:42That's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:47What are they on the wild card? 9 1/2 back. 09 and 1/2.
- 59:50That's what I'm saying. You're going to have to win the
- 59:52West if you're the Rangers. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:54Which, yeah. Yeah, yeah, National League, the
- 1:00:05Phillies have slid, man. I mean, I mentioned earlier they
- 1:00:10if they would have dropped today, that would have been
- 1:00:12seven straight. They're two and eight in their
- 1:00:13last 10. But we talked, we talked about
- 1:00:18this. What within the within the last
- 1:00:21two weeks, maybe they did enough to give themselves a, a decent
- 1:00:25enough size cushion to where you could avoid, you could afford
- 1:00:29the inevitable slide. This hat, it doesn't matter how
- 1:00:32good you are, the these slides are going to hit.
- 1:00:34It's just a matter of when. And you try to time them.
- 1:00:37I mean, you don't try to time them, but you, you hope that
- 1:00:41when the slides hit that you're in a position to where you can
- 1:00:43absorb that blow, wait for some guys get healthy and then you
- 1:00:47come back and you continue doing what you were doing for the the
- 1:00:51previous 60% of the season. Yeah, it's my least favorite
- 1:00:56saying in baseball, you got wins in the bank, no pun intended,
- 1:01:01bank, But that's true. That's true because those slides
- 1:01:06are going to come. I don't know, man.
- 1:01:13Six games, Lane only being six games back, that's not crazy.
- 1:01:20Well, I mean, Max freed to, to, to pick a name has not been
- 1:01:26great. So that that hurts their chances
- 1:01:31a little bit. I mean, we can't we, we don't
- 1:01:33need to run through the list of guys that they're missing.
- 1:01:36But I mean, the guys that they do have, we talked about it,
- 1:01:39they're you're going to need a little bit more.
- 1:01:42They got three games against each other in a few weeks.
- 1:01:47The Mets are one, I mean, we'll we'll talk wild card here in a
- 1:01:50minute. But the, the Central, you've got
- 1:01:52the Cardinals five games back. That that game wrapped up,
- 1:01:55right? Sunday night baseball, Sure.
- 1:01:59So, yeah. So I'm assuming this is updated
- 1:02:00five games back? I got 5 1/2.
- 1:02:04OK, so then, well, who, what did they win?
- 1:02:09I we we were recording while the game was still going on.
- 1:02:13Did they? It is over.
- 1:02:13They lost. They lost.
- 1:02:15OK, so your yours is accurate. 62 Cubs.
- 1:02:21Yeah, much unlike the American League, and we've talked about
- 1:02:24this and much of the National League is very wild, wild card
- 1:02:26dependent, wild card heavy. You're looking at, as it stands
- 1:02:31right now, Braves, Padres D backs and then the Nationals are
- 1:02:39really the only team that's fallen out of the conversation.
- 1:02:42And we weren't really counting them.
- 1:02:43We weren't really, we weren't officially putting them in the
- 1:02:47conversation, but technically they just based on the fact that
- 1:02:51I think at the time they were 5 1/2 back.
- 1:02:55They have since fallen to nine games back out of the wild card.
- 1:02:57So that's one team. But like we said, the last time
- 1:03:01we looked at the standings and, and the the postseason picture,
- 1:03:0613 of the 15 National League teams were either in a
- 1:03:11postseason spot or or were within six games of a of a
- 1:03:15postseason spot. And that, like I said, the
- 1:03:16Nationals have since dropped out of that.
- 1:03:18So now you're dealing with 12 National League teams.
- 1:03:20But outside on the outside looking in, you've got the Mets
- 1:03:23of the game and a half back. The Cardinals are right there,
- 1:03:26the Pirates, the Giants, the Cubs, the and the Reds, and the
- 1:03:32Cubs and the Reds are are they got a lot, they need a lot to go
- 1:03:38right so. Four and five games under 500.
- 1:03:41Where are you realistically drawing the line here in the NL
- 1:03:44Wild Card race? Just just gut feel.
- 1:03:47Like gut feel, just vibes. I mean, giants are seven and
- 1:03:52three in the last 10. But in a game I I just can't,
- 1:03:56I'm sorry, I can't take a team that's under 500.
- 1:03:58And I know that could literally change with their next game, but
- 1:04:02the Giants just aren't giving me enough to work with here.
- 1:04:05I, I, for me at least, and I know it sounds kind of crazy
- 1:04:09that I'm going to rule the, the Giants out and say, but I like
- 1:04:11the Pirates to be in that mix, 'cause I mean, it's the Pirates,
- 1:04:17but I got to, I got to say the Pirates are in the mix.
- 1:04:20You're only 3 1/2 back. And honestly, looking at the
- 1:04:26looking at those six teams, the three that are in the in the
- 1:04:29wild card and the three that are on the outside looking in
- 1:04:32drawing the line of the pirates, The only the only true lock to
- 1:04:38me is the Braves, just given their their their track record
- 1:04:45and their. I, I, I think the Padres did
- 1:04:49more. I think the Padres got better
- 1:04:52more than the Braves got better. And I, I feel better.
- 1:04:57I feel more confident in the Padres at the moment than I do
- 1:04:59the Braves. I think the Padres will end up
- 1:05:02having the number one wild card spot.
- 1:05:05Wow, OK. Yeah, I feel I, I feel pretty
- 1:05:08confident. I mean, I, I, I'll say this, I
- 1:05:11won't be surprised if that happens, but it it's just.
- 1:05:14It's the Padres. Yeah, it's the Padres and it's
- 1:05:17the Braves. Like, say what you will about
- 1:05:19how the Braves year has gone track.
- 1:05:20Record for track record. The track record adds up and it
- 1:05:24it gives them the benefit of the doubt in situations like this.
- 1:05:27When you look at a team that year after year finds a way to
- 1:05:30make the postseason, weathers the I mean, more often than not,
- 1:05:34it's a division, but they they just figure out a way to make it
- 1:05:37happen. And so it's hard for me to to to
- 1:05:41say that anything other than that would happen.
- 1:05:44But to your point, the Padres. They did a lot.
- 1:05:48They did a lot of good things. Some would argue a little too
- 1:05:51much for what they got, but I mean, they they made moves so I
- 1:05:58don't know it may OK, yeah, maybe you're right.
- 1:06:00Maybe maybe I I revoked my statement maybe that we don't
- 1:06:03have a lock in the in the National League wild card
- 1:06:06conversation. So even more so, I think that's
- 1:06:10that benefits the pirates if you like the.
- 1:06:12Lock was chaos. If if we're dealing with an up
- 1:06:15for grab situation here, I mean, tell me.
- 1:06:23Tell me that a Paul Skeens game one start in the Wild Card
- 1:06:31series would not be. If there's.
- 1:06:34Absolutely electric. If there's a way that they can
- 1:06:38really get hot and host that game, bro, who was the IT was
- 1:06:48the Giants, right? Where they gave Kueto Giants.
- 1:06:51What's the Giants where Kueto dropped the ball?
- 1:06:54Give PNC just one wild card game with skeens on the bump and it
- 1:07:00is. You don't know, you really have
- 1:07:03no idea what could happen. It probably won't even matter,
- 1:07:06because if we're being honest, it's the pirates.
- 1:07:07They're probably cutting them off at an Indians limit in an
- 1:07:10unknown and unstated Indians limit that has yet to be made
- 1:07:14public. And it's not even going to
- 1:07:17matter. I just the Mets and Cardinals
- 1:07:23don't do anything for me. I think that safe to say, the
- 1:07:28Cardinals been doing better than maybe we had given them a little
- 1:07:31credit for. Well, more me more so than you.
- 1:07:33I think you were a little higher on the Cardinals.
- 1:07:35I was a little. Higher on the Cardinals.
- 1:07:37I actually, I think I had them winning the division.
- 1:07:41Don't hold me, don't hold me do that, but I think I do anyway.
- 1:07:46It's shaking out, man, It's chaos.
- 1:07:48It's shaking out. I'm I'm excited.
- 1:07:50August is probably my like one of my least favorite months of
- 1:07:54baseball. Personally, I'm excited when we
- 1:07:57get into September and that's just like that home stretch and
- 1:08:01it's just go time and everyone is who they should be.
- 1:08:05You got the September call ups and there's like this little bit
- 1:08:08of like a spark and rejuvenation from couple names in in the
- 1:08:13minors where you know, it's just like that could be the
- 1:08:15difference. I love September.
- 1:08:18The weather starts cooling off and so slightly guys can get
- 1:08:21comfy again. Yeah, also I'm, I just want to
- 1:08:25put my foot down and fully, fully because I was, I was on
- 1:08:30Twitter for the the game delay yesterday for Yankees, Jays and
- 1:08:36everyone's like there's no excuse to not have retractable
- 1:08:40roofs at every stadium. I am putting my foot down.
- 1:08:43Just as a reminder, we've done this in the past.
- 1:08:48October baseball means cold baseball.
- 1:08:51Means long sleeves, means bullpen jackets means hoodies.
- 1:08:56I will die on that hill forever. October baseball means cold
- 1:09:01baseball. Yeah, that's all I.
- 1:09:09Agree and with that, I think we we oh, you're getting some
- 1:09:13reactions, you're getting some positive feedback on the on the
- 1:09:18Facebook reactions. I can see it on the screen.
- 1:09:20So people are loving that big fan big big fans of the the Nate
- 1:09:26rant on on October baseball being cold baseball.
- 1:09:29I agree I'm with you should. We get a Should we get a name
- 1:09:32game in It's been a minute. You want to you want to squeeze
- 1:09:36one in? I was about ready to wrap it up.
- 1:09:38I I was going to close it out with the rant with your rant
- 1:09:40there. Let's get a name game in.
- 1:09:42All right, that's right. Yeah, let's get the people some
- 1:09:45little bit of bonus content here.
- 1:09:47All right, we you want to do which one?
- 1:09:50We we've done 222 styles. So you want to do the land on
- 1:09:53the same name game? Yes, yeah, that's, I think
- 1:09:56that's our. OK, that's.
- 1:09:57That's our bread, and I think that's our bread and butter.
- 1:09:59It's our bread and butter. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:01As a reminder, cannot start with a name that has been mentioned
- 1:10:07in this specific episode today. Correct any other any Oh, we
- 1:10:14what did I say? Do we get 10?
- 1:10:15Do we get 10 guesses? That's that's the limit, cutting
- 1:10:18it off at 10 guesses. And if you're unfamiliar with
- 1:10:20this game, we have to basically just throw out a random name to
- 1:10:24start the game. Can't again, can't be a name
- 1:10:27that's been mentioned on this episode.
- 1:10:28You throw out a random name to start the game, and then based
- 1:10:31on those two names, you got to find something in common that
- 1:10:35connects the two somehow, some way.
- 1:10:38And then your next guess, you throw out two names based on the
- 1:10:41context clues and where you think the other person's
- 1:10:44thinking and see if you can land.
- 1:10:47You can say the same name at the count of three and you get you
- 1:10:49get 10 guesses. Your name.
- 1:11:03Yep, I got it. All right.
- 1:11:04Let's start it all right, 321. George.
- 1:11:11Springer, all right. All right, I.
- 1:11:17Don't know why you start. We talked about this.
- 1:11:19Why do you start with retired players?
- 1:11:20That's just it. George Springer is basically
- 1:11:24retired. But he's not, though.
- 1:11:29All right, so we've got George Springer and yadda yadda and
- 1:11:31Molina. George Springer, Yadier Molina.
- 1:11:44What do George Springer and Yadier Molina have in common?
- 1:11:52How can we draw this connection? Why by there's a guy that I'm
- 1:12:06thinking of that I cannot no wrong AL ES team.
- 1:12:26What do these two guys have in common, you know?
- 1:12:30What we should do, we should have that song play in between.
- 1:12:33That's like our countdown, you know what I mean?
- 1:12:37When the song is over, we have to have a name by then.
- 1:12:46Oh boy, that's a good idea. Yeah, Otherwise I'd be.
- 1:12:49I'd be stuck. It'll help the silence as well.
- 1:12:58It's also an added challenge because it's for sure messing
- 1:13:01with my brain. Oh, for sure.
- 1:13:04Yeah. Oh boy, Yahir Molina and George
- 1:13:16Springer. Ah, why is this position coming
- 1:13:25to mind? Dude, I have nothing.
- 1:13:37I'll send it. I have nothing.
- 1:13:42This is the first name that came to mind.
- 1:13:44There is 0 context to this guess or I don't.
- 1:13:46Relation 321 Jim N Nelson Cruz. OK, Oh, I got it.
- 1:14:02Why? Why do you have it?
- 1:14:07Jim Edmonds and Nelson Cruz, just like.
- 1:14:09That I got it. Am I?
- 1:14:11Am I an idiot for not? No, it's just, I just connected
- 1:14:15the dots really quickly. It's it's all about association.
- 1:14:24It's all about association. I'm not going to say you're an
- 1:14:27idiot, but it just came to me very quickly and I just think,
- 1:14:30if you think I don't want to give away any hints, this will
- 1:14:42be our third guess. I've I've nothing.
- 1:14:44Well, you made Hans and Nelson Cruz.
- 1:14:54This will be our third guess. Got to have somebody.
- 1:15:07This is crazy. Got to have somebody.
- 1:15:10This is crazy. You'll see why.
- 1:15:11You'll see a zero in. All right.
- 1:15:15This is our 3rd guest 321. In David Freeze, I mean I
- 1:15:27that's. Just how I got to David.
- 1:15:28Freeze it flashed, but like a a cardinal playing against Nelson
- 1:15:32Cruz in the in the in the World Series.
- 1:15:36Is that is that the dots all right?
- 1:15:39Yeah, All right. Well, David Freeze and Ian
- 1:15:41Kinsler are now playing together.
- 1:15:45What do we do there? David Freeze and Ian Kinsler.
- 1:15:54I got AI got a name. Oh.
- 1:15:56We're skipping this on. A name.
- 1:15:58I got a name. I kind of like it here.
- 1:15:59I kind of. I kind of feel good.
- 1:16:01I kind of. Is this our fourth guess?
- 1:16:03All right, Fourth guess 321. David Eckstein.
- 1:16:10I thought we were there. David Eckstein and and Adrian
- 1:16:13Beltre 4 guesses in Damn, man, I thought we were there.
- 1:16:21I thought based on the the the speed in which we got there, I
- 1:16:26thought, I thought we arrived at the same name.
- 1:16:28Trying to figure out how you got to David Eckstein personally.
- 1:16:32All right. Did what did we determine?
- 1:16:34Can we, are we allowed to explain our contact, our our
- 1:16:36connection? Did we?
- 1:16:37Did we determine? Yeah, but like, but like our
- 1:16:39next guest isn't based on the past, it's based on these two
- 1:16:42specifically. So I say why not let everybody?
- 1:16:47Yeah, but it also. It just, it just shows you where
- 1:16:49you're thinking. So that might be viewed as an
- 1:16:51advance. Are you just saying like no
- 1:16:52swag? Is that when you think of David?
- 1:16:54Freeze No, I just thought, I thought Cardinal and then I for,
- 1:16:58for David Freeze and then for who was the other one?
- 1:17:01Ian Kinsler. Ian Kinsler I just thought like,
- 1:17:04you know, kind of like dirtbag gamer kind of guy.
- 1:17:07And I thought, oh, David Eckstein fits that mold.
- 1:17:09See, I went, I went Ranger for Ian Kinsler third baseman David
- 1:17:14Freeze. David Freeze was also a Dodger I
- 1:17:16think for a brief. Yeah, he was sure was.
- 1:17:19That's what I did. Adrian Beltre.
- 1:17:21So now we got Adrian Beltre and David freaking Eckstein.
- 1:17:25Adrian Beltre and David Eckstein.
- 1:17:28OK, I got it. You need a song.
- 1:17:40You need some. Time.
- 1:17:41I think I got the name. What did I what?
- 1:17:43So is Dave. Who was it?
- 1:17:47Adrian Beltre. David Eckstein.
- 1:17:50Yeah, I got it. This is our 5th guest.
- 1:17:51OK, Adrian Beltre, David Eckstein.
- 1:17:55All right, 5th guest 321. Albert pool holes, ah.
- 1:18:02OK, We're we're zeroing in. We're zeroing in.
- 1:18:05I feel like mine was along the lines of your thought process,
- 1:18:10maybe sort of. Actually, I'm definitely
- 1:18:15thinking of like the like guys that play for both teams.
- 1:18:18Like, that's where my mind's been going lately, you know?
- 1:18:21All right, so 5 guesses in. We got five left, you said,
- 1:18:25David. I said Eric.
- 1:18:27Eric Gonyea, I said. Albert Pujols.
- 1:18:30All right, I got a name. That that quick, huh?
- 1:18:34My I, I can't. I can't apply the same line of
- 1:18:38thinking or the same approach to it.
- 1:18:41Sometimes I got to mix it up. Yeah, ready.
- 1:18:43All right. 6 guests, 321 Barry Bonds.
- 1:18:50Yeah, there we go. Let's go.
- 1:18:54Just a job. Power hitter, amazing match up.
- 1:18:58There it is, all right. That's good.
- 1:19:02So winning names move into we've got, we've got, we've got a
- 1:19:07name. A name Game Hall of Fame?
- 1:19:10How about that? Same game, Hall of Fame.
- 1:19:12How about that? Barry Bonds finally makes it in
- 1:19:15the Hall of Fame. Barry.
- 1:19:16Bonds finally makes it to the Hall.
- 1:19:18Congrats. Congrats, Barry.
- 1:19:21Congrats. Love that big day for for Double
- 1:19:26B. Barry Bonds, Justin Morneau.
- 1:19:30We had a third one who was the third name.
- 1:19:33We'd have to go back and look who was that third guy.
- 1:19:36I think it was the first guy that we won with wasn't.
- 1:19:39It Mourneau was the first, yeah. Never forget Justin Mourneau.
- 1:19:43I will never forget that name. Who was that?
- 1:19:47Who was that middle guy? There's a third guy.
- 1:19:49We'll have to. I like this.
- 1:19:50Yeah. We'll have a running Hall of
- 1:19:51Fame. Yeah.
- 1:19:52This is good. This is good.
- 1:19:54That's a quick one. That's a good job. 6 guesses
- 1:19:57that's that's a new record. I think we, for the sake of
- 1:20:00time, we may need to cut it to five just to challenge ourselves
- 1:20:03a little bit. I mean, we got it in six.
- 1:20:05I think we could get it in five if we if we tested ourselves.
- 1:20:09I think we need to consistently be, be be good.
- 1:20:15It's like us 5 guesses to even 0 in.
- 1:20:20No, I got to be a little smarter than that.
- 1:20:21And I mean, this isn't a Hall of very good Nate.
- 1:20:24This is the Hall of Fame. So these guys have to earn it.
- 1:20:29We we can say these guys are grandfathered in, but moving
- 1:20:35forward, I think we need to have these guys earn it.
- 1:20:37Yeah. Very well, that's all I got.
- 1:20:41Good stuff, good stuff today. Let's have a good week,
- 1:20:44everybody. Let's have a great week.
- 1:20:47We'll we'll link back up with you guys on Wednesday if all
- 1:20:52things go right. It should, right?
- 1:20:55Let's have a week. Let's have a week.
- 1:20:58Let's do our thing. Don't go chasing curveballs.
- 1:21:01We love you all and as always, looking forward to talking more
- 1:21:02baseball with you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
