- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jair Wars fans welcome in to do ball daily prison by jing Jack calm.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Lua.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Friday February 13th Right now we're talking about a video ESPN put out Probably from NFL live or whatever the heck they call it now Mina-combs who does do a great job analyze it in the game of football.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: She absolutely does Mina-combs Steven A. Smith one other analyst
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: They put out their top FC teams heading in to 2026. Who's the most dangerous?
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Who's the best team in the FC?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: And Nina Cimes led with the Jag Course, which I think is a great pick.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about that.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: We also had one other, again, I can't remember who they analyst is, but talked about the Chargers.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I get the Mike McDaniel point.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: I do, I think that that's a great point.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: I do think Mike McDaniel with that, with Justin Herbert and a healthy offensive line, that could be fireworks.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then Steven A Smith picked the Broncos, by the way, the Jaguars, they beat the crap out of the Charters and they beat the crap out of the Broncos.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: just keep that in mind.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about the jag wars, though.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Are they the best team in the AFC heading into 2020-26?
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.

- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new dovall gear.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Help support the channel look good while doing it.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: There's also a high button.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know what it does, but apparently it helps.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate it.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: So jag wars.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: But we've talked about them for the last month, just what we're expecting in 2026, the offices and all that stuff, they do have a number of impending free agents they have to figure out what they're doing there.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they lose, Devon Lloyd, Travis CTN and Buster Brown, I do think that they have the tools and the,
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: resources to replace.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Are you going to get the same level of production that Devon Lloyd gave you last year?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Could you probably get what Travis ETN gave you?
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Could you probably get what Buster Brown gave you?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I do like all those guys.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: I would not be mad to see any of them or all of them back in Jacksonville.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that regardless of what happens there with their leadership, James Gladstone, Liam Cohen and company, the Jack
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they were the best team in the AFC this year.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously they didn't get the job done.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: They failed against the Buffalo Bills.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: They failed.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about that game a bunch.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't get the job done.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they should have.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think that if they played that game five times, they went at least three or four.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: I really think that.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I think every other team in the AFC they would have beaten.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't go down that way.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Does that change the fact that I think moving forward the Jaguars are the best team in the FC?
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, I really do think there.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think the question is, how do you get, how do you, cause there will be other teams at the top of the FC that take a step forward.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: How do you make sure they don't catch up to you?
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: How do you make sure that you stay ahead of them?
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then how do you, then FC's ahead of the FC right now?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: How do you get there as well?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta win the FC, but winning the FC doesn't give you the Lamberti trophy.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta go beat the NFC, and I think the C-Ox, the Rams, potentially a couple other teams, are just ahead of the FC right now.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: So how do you get there?
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's the question.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the question is whether or not the Jaguars are a top dog in the FC.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: They are.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: They showed it throughout the entire season.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: They dominated the FC.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: Only, I mean, you know, it's unfortunate.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Can't take down the bills and the playoffs should have, but I think that they have the path ahead of them to be a much better football team in 2026.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I believe that?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Draft resources, they have the ability to clear pretty much of a cap space as well.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: They can be as almost as aggressive as they want to be.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: and clearing cap space, pursuing outside talent, retaining your own talent.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then they've got a lot of drafts because I know everybody's like, oh, you don't have a first round pick, you're screwed.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: This draft, I talked to Hacker about this, and this draft, I do think there's some really very good players at the top.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that this is a deeper class than it is, strength at the top type of class.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like there is players that are going to be available on day four or day four.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: And the fourth round on day three, based on the way analysts are projecting this thing that I think should be like day two picks easily.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: maybe even round two picks.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the Jaguars are gonna have a great opportunity to improve through the draft and through for agency and through resounding their own guys if they want to.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then you also have the fact that you're going into year two of these systems.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: Offensively, Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence, they're starting to fire on all cylinders.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: They're only gonna get better.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: It was a absolute sprint for Trevor Lawrence, after he started being able to throw the football last summer to be able to mentally understand the offense
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Mentally, be able to understand, okay, we've got this play, but we've got this can, we've got this can, we've got two or three plays every single time that we can, you know, get to, based on the look that the defense is giving us.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of information.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have the fact that he's switching his footwork, he's marrying up his, uh, drop back with the actual,
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: route concepts timing wise, which there was none of that here before.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: So it was a lot for Trevor Lawrence early on and it took a minute and there was also the issues of drop passes and all those other things.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: It took a minute for everything to come together offensively and it did in a big way.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you can continue to see that and I think you can see even more than that.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Really, I do.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think the run game they need to focus on getting better in the
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then defensively, you can be better in coverage and up front, very, very easily in my opinion.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that that takes a whole lot.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they can be a lot better, but the coaches have to do a better job in year two, building things around the players, and the players have to do a better job of
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Understanding there is not and they did a great job.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying they didn't do a great job for a year one But it has to be that much better in year two.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen talked about it in their staff meeting earlier this week Your two is the most important year This is the most important year and when you talk about Jacksonville and the history in Jacksonville He is absolutely right 2018 Does asked her class
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: absolute disaster class for the Jaguars.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: They said we've arrived.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to supplement here in there.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to keep Blake boardals around disaster class 2023.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot let that happen.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: The first year of a new head coach outside of Urban Meyer.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Doug Maroon, first year, playoffs, AFC championship, Doug Peterson, first year, playoffs, why, uh, divisional round, Liam Cohen, first year, 13 and 4 playoffs, wildcard round loss.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot let what has happened to the Jaguars in the past over the last decade happen again.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen is exactly right.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars have the right people leading the thing.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Tony Bicelli, James Gladstone, Liam Cohen, think retaining, Grant Yedinsky, retaining Anthony Campanila, getting perceived upgrades with Brian Picucci and Mathua Rujo and the coaching staff, having the ability to really plan this thing out,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: let what you believe from the draft from a positional standpoint impact your free agent plans and vice versa.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: If they do what I think they're going to do this offseason, which is not good out of the park.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're going, I would pick them right now to in the AFC.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: I really would.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: I know the Broncos are tough.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think Botanix is going to hold up against the Jaguar's defense, the way Trevor Lawrence can hold up against the Broncos
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: Not a chance.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: The bills, they should be right there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think they made a big mistake.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: I really think they made a big mistake.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Keeping their GM, Brandon Bean, instead of their head coach, Sean McDermott, but they kept Joe Brady, and I think that was a big deal.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think Joe Brady's a really good coach.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: Defensively, I mean,
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be challenged to perform as well as they did with Wishon McDermott, kind of, be in the leader of that defense.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the chiefs.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think they'll be back in the playoff picture.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be tough.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: The chargers, I think, that we'll be back in the playoff picture as well.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not really worried about that at this point.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Colts.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: OK.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're tough, but I think the Jaguar is a better.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Texans are going to be changing much about what they did this year.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar is at the top of the FC.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
