- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by Draft Kings. The Crown
- 0:12Speaker 1: is yours. The off season in the NFL continues, and
- 0:15Speaker 1: our breakdowns continue as well.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Let's welcome in the crew.
- 0:19Speaker 1: The first Lady of the Pod, Miss Kendra Middleton, the
- 0:22Speaker 1: Prime Minister of Primers Evan Abrams.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm your host, Brandon Kravitz.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Stucky still stuck in college basketball land, but we have
- 0:32Speaker 1: our fellow Action Network friend Chris raybon is back.
- 0:36Speaker 2: We couldn't shake him.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Go check out yesterday's episode for the free agency recap
- 0:42Speaker 1: and his favorite and least favorite moves. Also some top
- 0:45Speaker 1: tier Girl Scout cookie advice.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Guys.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We had some credit card fraud conversations off air. We've
- 0:53Speaker 1: got some coworkers that are dealing with issues. So question
- 0:57Speaker 1: to kick off the pod. Is there a charge that
- 1:00Speaker 1: someone could put on your card where you'd be upset
- 1:05Speaker 1: that your card got hacked or whatever, but where you'd
- 1:08Speaker 1: actually kind of want to hang out with that person.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Is there is there a charge that they could make
- 1:12Speaker 1: where you would go I'm not happy about this, but
- 1:14Speaker 1: also kind of want to meet the offender.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I have two answers, One Magic City, two an exotic
- 1:23Speaker 3: pet store if they went and bought a bunch of
- 1:27Speaker 3: exotic animals, I'd be like, you know what word, I
- 1:30Speaker 3: respect it, you can just have it. At this point,
- 1:33Speaker 3: that would be my.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Answer, spot, you would sponsor that decision.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I would sponsor you buying a python.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I think it's more about the sequence of charges, like
- 1:41Speaker 4: if he went to somewhere funny to funny to funny,
- 1:44Speaker 4: like if he was kind of or heat or she
- 1:47Speaker 4: was going around town, Uh, you know, going to buy
- 1:50Speaker 4: bubble gum and then condoms and then to the exotic
- 1:53Speaker 4: pet store or something like that, like you got to
- 1:55Speaker 4: keep me entertained if toilet.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly what is the.
- 1:59Speaker 6: Bubble gon condom connection?
- 2:02Speaker 5: I don't know, just something just you know, well, I.
- 2:10Speaker 7: Can't make it any more disgusting than it already is.
- 2:12Speaker 7: But there's a certain mysterious steakhouse that I would be
- 2:17Speaker 7: very I would support. Yeah, but it's never, Kendra, It's never.
- 2:22Speaker 7: It's never going to come up as Magic City. It's
- 2:24Speaker 7: gonna be like some random steakhouse like holding company type
- 2:28Speaker 7: of thing that that's how it's gonna come up. So
- 2:29Speaker 7: the wives, you know, just for the wives.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Can we talk about how the Atlanta Hawks were doing
- 2:34Speaker 3: a Magic City night against the Celtics and they canceled it.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Cowards.
- 2:39Speaker 3: That was against Orlando or Magic I thought it was
- 2:43Speaker 3: the Celtics. Why did they cancel it? I don't understand.
- 2:46Speaker 3: That's the coolest thing that net We're done, other than
- 2:48Speaker 3: started selling their Cranberry Hennessy cocktail on the second floor,
- 2:51Speaker 3: which is the best thing I've ever had.
- 2:53Speaker 2: In my life.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I imagine there was some pressure from the NBA to say,
- 2:58Speaker 1: you know, this isn't quite family friendly. They tried to
- 3:01Speaker 1: couch it as like, well, it's because of the historical
- 3:04Speaker 1: context and hip hop artists performed here and we're not
- 3:08Speaker 1: gonna have strippers dancing on the floor.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That was okay, they're just midnight ballerinas guys.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Come on lighting up. Yeah, yeah, that was weird.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Hell, Luke Cornett got he got real uppity about.
- 3:24Speaker 4: His name is his name has corn in it, So
- 3:26Speaker 4: it makes sense they thought the NBA would be like
- 3:29Speaker 4: a Magic City.
- 3:30Speaker 5: It sounds like, you know, bouncy house world.
- 3:32Speaker 7: You know, yeah there if any league, that's what I'll say,
- 3:36Speaker 7: any league was gonna support it.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It was gonna be the end for sure. For sure.
- 3:40Speaker 2: You never see this in the NHL.
- 3:41Speaker 3: No, the the NHL Boys did go to a strip
- 3:44Speaker 3: club in Miami when they got back.
- 3:46Speaker 7: So every team, every team goes to a strip club
- 3:50Speaker 7: in Miami. Did you see did you see the Washington
- 3:54Speaker 7: Wizards playing the Heat? They had a Vio got his
- 3:58Speaker 7: eighty three?
- 3:58Speaker 6: I mean cool.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, they in the South Beach Flu. They the South
- 4:01Speaker 1: Beach Flu for sure. I think my answer would be
- 4:05Speaker 1: some mix of uh. If if they bought tickets to
- 4:08Speaker 1: the Royal Rumble, I could I could respect that, Or
- 4:12Speaker 1: if they just deposited money in their DraftKings account because
- 4:15Speaker 1: I'm a company man.
- 4:16Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's the correct answer. Bingo to ching.
- 4:20Speaker 1: All right, let's get to it. We already talked about
- 4:23Speaker 1: what has happened. Let's talk about free agency as it continues.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Kyler Murray took a visit with the Minnesota Vikings, got
- 4:31Speaker 1: a physical there.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Could he be the next renaissance quarterback?
- 4:34Speaker 1: This feels like such an obvious fit, Ray baund I
- 4:37Speaker 1: can't even think of another team that makes remotely.
- 4:41Speaker 2: As much sense for Kyler for what they need.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Then the Minnesota Vikings sprinkling that Koc Pixie dust on them.
- 4:49Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's just a great It would be
- 4:53Speaker 7: a great landing spot for him because it would it
- 4:58Speaker 7: would be kind of a high risk, high reward move
- 5:00Speaker 7: because I don't know if it's the best fit necessarily.
- 5:04Speaker 7: I mean, they had Kirk Cousins, and they had he
- 5:07Speaker 7: had some great years there. Now he is a little
- 5:08Speaker 7: older now, but I mean I think that would be
- 5:11Speaker 7: kind of like the Okay, we could, we could probably
- 5:13Speaker 7: get to the playoffs with Kirk Cousins, you know, like
- 5:15Speaker 7: they would, they would, They're feel decently confident in that.
- 5:18Speaker 7: But Kyler, if Kevin O'Connell is who he we think
- 5:24Speaker 7: he is, and the McCarthy thing was more uh you know,
- 5:31Speaker 7: the the GM who ended up, you know, getting fired,
- 5:36Speaker 7: then Kyler has a ton of upside in the system
- 5:40Speaker 7: because remember not even just Sam Darnold who goes to
- 5:43Speaker 7: the Seahawks after, but he comes through that system, Uh improves, Uh,
- 5:47Speaker 7: Daniel Jones spent some time there.
- 5:50Speaker 6: He improved even.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Cousins, I mean Cousins wasn't Cousins has his best seasons
- 5:56Speaker 7: under Kevin O'Connell. So Tyler and a motivated Kyler too,
- 6:00Speaker 7: because you know they were I was just reading something
- 6:03Speaker 7: before we got on about how a former player on
- 6:05Speaker 7: the Cardinals was saying, you know, once Kyler got paid,
- 6:07Speaker 7: it kind of created a monster and he wasn't trying hard.
- 6:09Speaker 6: And we all remember the four hour.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Independent stun clause, right, Yes, so like clearly Kyler was
- 6:16Speaker 7: not ever motivated. But you know he's, oh he's not
- 6:21Speaker 7: even thirty yet, like in your twenties, like as a
- 6:25Speaker 7: as a dude, you are arrogant and cocky as fuck,
- 6:27Speaker 7: like there is you know.
- 6:29Speaker 6: What I mean, something has to humble you.
- 6:31Speaker 7: And this, you know, getting released from from the team
- 6:35Speaker 7: that drafted him, and you know and having the kind
- 6:38Speaker 7: of sign you know, be on the open market, and
- 6:41Speaker 7: you know, I don't like how many suitors does he
- 6:45Speaker 7: even have. It's not even like the it seems like
- 6:47Speaker 7: there's a ton of suitors out there. So I think
- 6:50Speaker 7: this will humble him. He'll be motivated, O'Connor will be motivated.
- 6:54Speaker 6: And Kyra had.
- 6:54Speaker 7: His best season thrown to that boy Hopkins when when
- 6:58Speaker 7: he was you know, still Hopkins did not shove himself.
- 7:01Speaker 7: So thrown and justin Jefferson Jordan Addison, Uh, that definitely
- 7:08Speaker 7: gonna be his best receiving call.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I was just gonna say this is a gambling show
- 7:14Speaker 3: over under JJ shoving him in a locker.
- 7:18Speaker 1: By week six, Justin Jefferson specifically right mccarthyybody.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Nine, just Jfson. No, Justin Jefferson is a nice guy man.
- 7:34Speaker 8: I don't think he put up with but he was,
- 7:40Speaker 8: but the level of piss he got to the level
- 7:43Speaker 8: of like pisted he could have gotten like.
- 7:47Speaker 2: He should have been looking like Terrell Owens.
- 7:50Speaker 7: He was just on a sideline with his bling, just
- 7:52Speaker 7: like trying to keep it like Stefan Diggs would have
- 7:54Speaker 7: had like eight altercations that like in that scene changing
- 8:01Speaker 7: then Actually, I think I think Coyler, I think Kyler.
- 8:06Speaker 7: I think this like JJ will rub off positively on Kyler,
- 8:09Speaker 7: and it's kind of like maybe he needs that, like
- 8:11Speaker 7: because you can't just the threat of Justin Jefferson, like
- 8:15Speaker 7: in the huddle, like, bro, you better, you better get
- 8:17Speaker 7: me to the ball, like your short ass like scrambled,
- 8:21Speaker 7: but don't scrambling too much, like you gotta better scram
- 8:23Speaker 7: out of trouble and get me the damn ball. And
- 8:26Speaker 7: so yeah, and in KOC you know he'll you know,
- 8:29Speaker 7: he'll uh, he'll put Kyler in a position to succeed
- 8:32Speaker 7: better than anyone has today. I mean, who's his corner
- 8:35Speaker 7: in Cliff Kingsbury.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I think that they're gonna be a dumpster fire. I
- 8:38Speaker 3: gotta be honest. I think that the Vikings are going
- 8:41Speaker 3: to be the last place team in that division.
- 8:44Speaker 6: But that's when they that's when they ball out.
- 8:46Speaker 7: Remember two years ago everyone was down and the and
- 8:48Speaker 7: then they went completely nothing.
- 8:50Speaker 6: The last year everyone was highing there and was like.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah they renaissance to quarterbacks Sam Darnold. I don't know
- 8:56Speaker 1: who else. It's the Steelers maybe can you got the
- 9:01Speaker 1: throat dumpster fire?
- 9:02Speaker 7: I could see that being a doubt. I mean, talk
- 9:05Speaker 7: about stiffs and slow guys. You got like Dk Metckham,
- 9:08Speaker 7: how long?
- 9:08Speaker 6: How much long is he going to be fast?
- 9:13Speaker 7: Michael pap Byron is a stiff. Michael Pippen is a stiff.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Like everyone downs, not even fast, that's true. Kathy is
- 9:25Speaker 4: gonna if they have oh my god, Minnesota is a
- 9:28Speaker 4: much better fit.
- 9:29Speaker 7: His receivers routes like hell, he could scramble and he'll
- 9:32Speaker 7: be He'll like, you know, Dk metcalf will break off
- 9:34Speaker 7: his route. How will we be down the field before
- 9:36Speaker 7: his receivers and just get a bunch of those penalties
- 9:38Speaker 7: for throwing across the line.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Scrimage like it'll be Minnesota is just kind of in
- 9:42Speaker 4: a Arizona upgrade. They're very similar indoors like I just
- 9:47Speaker 4: feel like better coaching. It's just like moving to a
- 9:50Speaker 4: better team and situation. But they're very similar in Evan.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Can you even think of another exit another team that
- 9:56Speaker 1: would realistically bring him in as their starting quarterback? When
- 10:00Speaker 1: you start to look around the league, everyone has either
- 10:03Speaker 1: just moved moved off of Kyler Murray Arizona, or they
- 10:07Speaker 1: have a guy or we'll be drafting Fernando Mendoza. We're
- 10:11Speaker 1: kind of running out of options here.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the Browns are the Jets.
- 10:14Speaker 6: It would be the Browns or the Jets.
- 10:16Speaker 4: The Browns would make more sense than the Jets. Do
- 10:18Speaker 4: we think Gino is definitely the guy after that?
- 10:21Speaker 5: Maybe? I mean the.
- 10:26Speaker 7: Jets went from getting a dude coming off like they
- 10:29Speaker 7: went from getting a terrible quarterback coming off the best
- 10:32Speaker 7: season of his career, even with those in an abbreviated sense.
- 10:35Speaker 6: To getting a retread of a guy they already that already.
- 10:39Speaker 6: But Kyler wouldn't go, wouldn't go. Yeah, what do you
- 10:44Speaker 6: mean he wouldn't go there.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Well, it's like this is kind of his like choice, right,
- 10:47Speaker 4: he's making a crap ton of money. He can sign
- 10:49Speaker 4: for whatever he wants, like he might as like it's
- 10:52Speaker 4: gotta be his decision as well. Like if the Vikings
- 10:55Speaker 4: turn him down and they're like.
- 10:57Speaker 5: You know what, we're gonna go a different direction.
- 10:58Speaker 4: We'll go with JJ, McCarthy and X and it's not you,
- 11:02Speaker 4: then yes, his options get dwindled down to less and
- 11:05Speaker 4: the Jets become maybe you know, if that's his only
- 11:08Speaker 4: starting gig, because Rogers in Pittsburgh understood.
- 11:11Speaker 5: But if he's.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Choosing between all these people while making a billion dollars
- 11:15Speaker 4: from Arizona, he's probably not going to Met Life.
- 11:18Speaker 7: But most why teams like players like that's why the
- 11:22Speaker 7: Jets keep signing guys like this, because dude, see New
- 11:26Speaker 7: York and they don't even realize that MetLife is just
- 11:28Speaker 7: a like in New Jersey to begin.
- 11:31Speaker 6: With, like they you know what I mean, Like it's
- 11:34Speaker 6: like the March all interesting when he went to Buffalo
- 11:36Speaker 6: and he was like, Yeo, I thought that was New
- 11:38Speaker 6: York City. Like it's guys, just see New York and
- 11:41Speaker 6: it's Kyler.
- 11:41Speaker 7: He just he just get like a nice spot on
- 11:43Speaker 7: like the Upper East Side for your fucking whole apartment,
- 11:47Speaker 7: just for his fucking xbox.
- 11:48Speaker 5: Like he thought the bills were in Hoboken. Yeah, I
- 11:51Speaker 5: get it.
- 11:52Speaker 2: What if?
- 11:53Speaker 3: What The only other thing that I can think of
- 11:55Speaker 3: here is because he can sign for what he wants.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Hypothetically speaking, Daniel Jones isn't ready. What if he went
- 12:03Speaker 3: to Indy that's intriguing.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I like that, like.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Closer to winning a ring just because the division sucks,
- 12:12Speaker 3: But the team got a lot better outside of the
- 12:14Speaker 3: quarterback position.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They've just sent a lot of money on the It's
- 12:18Speaker 1: not like they got Daniel Jones on the cheap though.
- 12:20Speaker 6: Yeah they got two.
- 12:21Speaker 3: But that's I'm saying is that they can get Kyler
- 12:23Speaker 3: on the cheap.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Yeah, but when is.
- 12:25Speaker 7: Kyler ever struck you as a guy who cares about
- 12:27Speaker 7: winning in the NFL? Like this dude literally said, Yo,
- 12:31Speaker 7: I am not gonna I do not need to kill
- 12:33Speaker 7: myself watching film.
- 12:34Speaker 3: What if he goes back to baseball?
- 12:36Speaker 5: I like that.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not a bad idea, and he can stay
- 12:39Speaker 1: out out west with the Las Vegas A's okay.
- 12:43Speaker 2: So Aaron Rodgers.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Let's say Kyler Murray goes to Minnesota because that seems
- 12:47Speaker 1: like the most obvious fit and the best idea.
- 12:49Speaker 2: For him and for them.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Frankly, Aaron Rodgers, Chris is, where does he go?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Does he go back to Pittsburgh? Could that really be
- 12:58Speaker 2: their plan?
- 12:59Speaker 1: He was all full last year quarterback raiding wise, all
- 13:03Speaker 1: the advanced numbers. This guy was a bottom he was
- 13:06Speaker 1: a bottom ten quarterback last ye year.
- 13:09Speaker 6: I'm a big Aaron Rodgers hater. He wasn't awful.
- 13:11Speaker 7: He was he was as expected for a forty whatever
- 13:14Speaker 7: year old expected.
- 13:16Speaker 1: You can't expect, you can't expect to actually win with
- 13:19Speaker 1: him at this stage in the game.
- 13:21Speaker 7: I mean, they got to the playoffs over the Ravens
- 13:22Speaker 7: last year, who had Lamar Jackson.
- 13:24Speaker 6: So you tell me, I mean, well.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin's always taking dead corpses to the playoffs.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And I'm just saying, Mike McCarthy.
- 13:31Speaker 6: They won ten games, they won. I'm saying, I'm I'm
- 13:36Speaker 6: not an Aaron Rodgers fan.
- 13:37Speaker 7: I think it would be I think this like it'd
- 13:39Speaker 7: kind of it would be a disaster because, like I said,
- 13:41Speaker 7: somehow the offense got slower, like like Michael. I'm a
- 13:46Speaker 7: big Michael Pittman fan too, but I just I just
- 13:48Speaker 7: think this is a very odd strategy for Pittsburgh. It's like,
- 13:53Speaker 7: I don't know exactly what they're going for, and I
- 13:55Speaker 7: feel like adding Pittman and then extending him when you
- 13:58Speaker 7: already have Metcalf is like a move you do if
- 14:01Speaker 7: you have a certain type of quarterback in place already.
- 14:05Speaker 7: So the fact that Pittsburgh does it just makes it
- 14:07Speaker 7: odd to me that they're doing this. I mean, and
- 14:10Speaker 7: it could be the way of the future because teams
- 14:12Speaker 7: are going to more heavy formations and you're talking about
- 14:15Speaker 7: kind of how you can you know, combat defenses playing
- 14:18Speaker 7: all this dime, So maybe you're just trying to get
- 14:20Speaker 7: these big body receivers that you know can help in
- 14:23Speaker 7: the run game and whatnot.
- 14:24Speaker 6: But it just strikes me as odd.
- 14:26Speaker 7: So yeah, I think it would be I think it
- 14:27Speaker 7: would be a disaster this year, But I mean, last
- 14:30Speaker 7: year they got to the playoffs.
- 14:31Speaker 2: You can't okay, and again the last.
- 14:34Speaker 6: Game of the season, he came up.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Maybe maybe awful was too strong, but was there that
- 14:39Speaker 1: big of a difference between Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers
- 14:42Speaker 1: Off the couch.
- 14:43Speaker 2: We're just talking about two guys.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, there was still have replacement ability that cannot move
- 14:50Speaker 1: an inch around the Pondlip.
- 14:52Speaker 7: Rivers is like if you're playing Madden in your controller freezes,
- 14:54Speaker 7: like when you're dropping back, it's like your deepad freeze,
- 14:57Speaker 7: your and your analog.
- 14:58Speaker 6: You're like, I don't I believe like Rogers was moving
- 15:01Speaker 6: around the pocket.
- 15:02Speaker 7: So I think I think like I think, I think
- 15:05Speaker 7: we thought Rogers was gonna be a lot worse than
- 15:08Speaker 7: he actually was, which was just like a bottom half starter,
- 15:11Speaker 7: like not but not not great.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I want Rogers to go to the Vikings, and I
- 15:15Speaker 4: hope everyone just kind of figures that out and then
- 15:18Speaker 4: and then they're like, hey, McCarthy learned from Aaron Pittsburgh,
- 15:21Speaker 4: has to figure out their own thing, and they go
- 15:24Speaker 4: like one year in that direction and they kind of
- 15:26Speaker 4: just see how it goes.
- 15:27Speaker 5: I think that would be.
- 15:28Speaker 3: The most I have a really hot take. I think
- 15:30Speaker 3: that out of everyone, Kirk Cousins has the biggest market
- 15:35Speaker 3: because people will look at him and think that they
- 15:38Speaker 3: can copy the Joe Flacco.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'd rather have Kirk Cousins than Aaron Rodgers.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Oh, k wait no, yeah, Kurtin, I think I can
- 15:49Speaker 1: see Kirk Cousins in Pittsburgh.
- 15:51Speaker 2: You just trade out one old.
- 15:53Speaker 3: They will look at him like the Joe Flacco. Can
- 15:55Speaker 3: we go on this like miracle whatever with this old
- 15:58Speaker 3: went with this old man like that's I think that
- 16:00Speaker 3: he has the biggest market just because people will compare
- 16:03Speaker 3: the two.
- 16:05Speaker 6: He's an interesting Uh.
- 16:06Speaker 7: He would be an interesting signing for the Colts because
- 16:09Speaker 7: like he would be the like we're talking about, like
- 16:11Speaker 7: a Flacco type, like if Daniel Jones is already you
- 16:14Speaker 7: got Cousins and he and then he goes on like
- 16:15Speaker 7: a run like that. But I agree, I think Rogers
- 16:19Speaker 7: Rogers to the Viking is sneaky because I don't think
- 16:22Speaker 7: he was as terrible as I thought now now a
- 16:25Speaker 7: year at this age, it could be night and day.
- 16:28Speaker 7: But O'Connell Rogers, it gets intriguing, especially with Justin Jefferson.
- 16:35Speaker 3: But heads though talk about JJ being pissed at somebody.
- 16:38Speaker 3: If they gave him Aaron Rodgers, I think that he
- 16:40Speaker 3: would literally be like, if you don't trade me now, yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 6: Aaron Rodgers.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Justin Jefferson was like growing up watching he probably would
- 16:49Speaker 7: idolize him and be scared to like Aaron Rodgers will
- 16:51Speaker 7: probably like transformed Justin Jefferson into like a fucking ayahuasca maga.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Dude or whatever.
- 16:58Speaker 3: I was gonna say. He's gonna be like, you want
- 16:59Speaker 3: to come over for dinner to meet my AI wife.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I have a great cup chair.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Bro, Like I could see I got yeah, because like
- 17:05Speaker 7: you got you forget, like like that's that was like
- 17:08Speaker 7: probably one of his favorite players growing up. So I
- 17:10Speaker 7: don't I don't think it would be like that kind
- 17:12Speaker 7: of situation like J. J. McCarthy was, just like it
- 17:15Speaker 7: was just an odd choice from the beginning to even
- 17:17Speaker 7: move on from Donald to begin with, Like I think
- 17:20Speaker 7: they should have just had like Donald and McCarty, Like any.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Of these options? Are any of these options for Arizona?
- 17:27Speaker 4: Or do we feel like they're doing a different thing.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Jacoby Brissett was like the best quarterback in the league last.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Year, so like he's the starter, no question, no competition.
- 17:34Speaker 1: That's that's why you like, That's why you like Aaron
- 17:37Speaker 1: Rodgers so much. Rogers is just a Rogers at this
- 17:39Speaker 1: point in his career, is just white. Jacoby Brissette.
- 17:42Speaker 6: Don't don't don't stand in Jacoby Brissett like that. The
- 17:46Speaker 6: numbers I think was better than.
- 17:51Speaker 3: A draft, not Smire, and they're gonna roll with that.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Hey, somebody's got a tank for next year's class, Chris,
- 17:57Speaker 1: where do you land on that? Because it feels like
- 17:59Speaker 1: the Dolphins are a good example of this. The Dolphins
- 18:02Speaker 1: had every reason to go completely in the tank. Signing
- 18:04Speaker 1: Malik Willis to me, looks like a move that the
- 18:08Speaker 1: front office makes because they don't think next year's draft
- 18:12Speaker 1: class is good enough to completely bottom out for, so
- 18:16Speaker 1: they might as well just go get a quarterback they
- 18:18Speaker 1: obviously believe in. They worked with the guy in Green Bay,
- 18:22Speaker 1: arch Manning. Are we gonna do this whole thing again
- 18:24Speaker 1: with arch Is? It doesn't seem like teams are setting
- 18:27Speaker 1: themselves up outside of maybe the Jets, maybe the Cardinals
- 18:32Speaker 1: to get these top picks Dante more out of Oregon.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I'm just not sure that this draft class in twenty
- 18:36Speaker 1: twenty seven is gonna live up to the hype, just
- 18:39Speaker 1: like twenty twenty six didn't live up to the hype.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 7: I mean, first of all, the Browns, by default, whether
- 18:46Speaker 7: they are setting themselves up for it or not, are
- 18:49Speaker 7: going to be the worst team in the league, and
- 18:53Speaker 7: the Jets.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Probably don't end up winning seven home games because they
- 18:56Speaker 1: can't lose in their own building.
- 18:58Speaker 6: No, they're just two home games.
- 19:00Speaker 7: But give up like a combined nine points in those games,
- 19:03Speaker 7: and somehow we lose like three nothing in all of
- 19:05Speaker 7: them or something stupid because their defense is just shot
- 19:07Speaker 7: Like as Stuck, he always points out, their defense is
- 19:09Speaker 7: just lights out at home for some reason.
- 19:11Speaker 6: But seriously, Dolphins, Willis.
- 19:14Speaker 7: There's always gonna be those teams that we expect nothing
- 19:17Speaker 7: from that, especially in this day and age where you're
- 19:20Speaker 7: always like a couple of completions away from scoring position.
- 19:25Speaker 7: Now with the touchback rules and the kickoff rules and whatnot,
- 19:28Speaker 7: it's I think that's why you've seen it become more
- 19:30Speaker 7: of a team game. And the teams, like the top
- 19:32Speaker 7: heavy teams with the quarterbacks either missed the playoffs or
- 19:35Speaker 7: you know, things happened. They just didn't get as far
- 19:37Speaker 7: this year or last year. Excuse me, so, Malik Willis
- 19:41Speaker 7: on the Dolphins, they got half you know, they got halfway.
- 19:45Speaker 7: They're rebuilding, but they're one of those teams that I
- 19:48Speaker 7: could see being better quicker, especially if Willis plays like
- 19:52Speaker 7: he did as a packer because my god, I.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Mean, Malik Willis wasn't y'all's college quarterback. And I can
- 19:57Speaker 3: tell because he was mine, and I cannot have this
- 20:01Speaker 3: conversation and the long terrible.
- 20:05Speaker 7: But he's but but all right, as like I've ever
- 20:07Speaker 7: been that terrible and then played that. I mean, I
- 20:11Speaker 7: know it's been a brief, brief time with the Packers.
- 20:14Speaker 7: I give you that small sample, very small sample, problematic,
- 20:18Speaker 7: we get it. But like this dude did not put
- 20:21Speaker 7: on put out bad tape as a packer over two
- 20:24Speaker 7: years of you know, I guess what he appear in
- 20:26Speaker 7: like eleven game only started three but seventy of eighty
- 20:29Speaker 7: nine seventy nine percent completions, six touchdowns, narian interception, uh
- 20:35Speaker 7: and ten point nine yards per pass attempt, Like I
- 20:40Speaker 7: don't know what else he could have done, and like
- 20:43Speaker 7: he was Remember that game against Kansas City, I think
- 20:47Speaker 7: it was where the Titans upset them with Malik Willis
- 20:49Speaker 7: and he couldn't throw the ball down like he looked
- 20:51Speaker 7: like he looked like Kendall Hinton.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Was that the year that him and Josh Dobbs were
- 20:55Speaker 3: on the same Titans team.
- 20:57Speaker 7: I believe, so the year they just had all the
- 20:59Speaker 7: with they had the chance at the playoffs, and then
- 21:02Speaker 7: he couldn't.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Even beat up Josh Dobbs.
- 21:04Speaker 3: And we're having this conversation. Are we kidding?
- 21:07Speaker 7: I'm saying, he the dude did not have like one
- 21:10Speaker 7: bad snack with the Green Payackers.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Are we not allowed to get better in life?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Kendraprove maybe he's the next Sam Darnold. Guys, maybe you're right, Oh.
- 21:21Speaker 6: He could, he could.
- 21:21Speaker 7: I'm just saying, like the Dolphins seem like they're in
- 21:25Speaker 7: that tanking category, and they seem like they're in that
- 21:27Speaker 7: Browns Jets category. But if we will plays like he
- 21:33Speaker 7: did as a Packer, their defense could be better like
- 21:36Speaker 7: they they could be better quicker as all. I'm saying
- 21:40Speaker 7: than people think, especially because they'll play the Jets twice.
- 21:43Speaker 2: He fed a homeless man at the combine years ago.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Okay, I do love that video of him, and it
- 21:49Speaker 3: makes me cry every single time I see it. Okay,
- 21:52Speaker 3: you know what, I will be nicer to Malik Willis.
- 21:54Speaker 3: You're right, you have humbled me.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I'm just still mad.
- 21:57Speaker 3: At him for Auburn in like twenty eighteen.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Waller catch eleven touchdowns.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Be fine, Yes, yes, Gordon Bill has waddle in the
- 22:07Speaker 2: a Chad.
- 22:08Speaker 1: They might actually be Okay, let's take their wind total over.
- 22:11Speaker 7: They do got some They do have guys where it's like,
- 22:13Speaker 7: all right, Willi's can run if he just puts the
- 22:15Speaker 7: ball in certain guy's hands, they can run fast.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Okay, so there's a chance.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Enough Dolphins.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I always have to be talked off of talking dolphins.
- 22:26Speaker 1: This time it's entertaining.
- 22:29Speaker 6: You can play in the cold weather.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Did the Patriots do enough?
- 22:35Speaker 1: They went to the Super Bowl and they have this
- 22:38Speaker 1: window of opportunity now to get back. They got Romeo Dobbs.
- 22:43Speaker 1: They've lost some pieces. Do they still need to make moves?
- 22:47Speaker 6: What pieces that they lose? They need to lose any.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Pieces Tonga, They're gonna lose the full back.
- 22:55Speaker 6: No, Yeah, the Patriots.
- 22:58Speaker 7: The Patriots in a great spot because the pieces they
- 23:01Speaker 7: lost are like replaceable or like they still they can
- 23:05Speaker 7: still hy like shift, they can still remake their offensive
- 23:08Speaker 7: line a little bit.
- 23:10Speaker 6: And Romeo Dobbs is a good number two.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 7: He's a good addition for them though, because because think
- 23:19Speaker 7: about last year, even the Super Bowl, for example, we.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Were like falling off.
- 23:22Speaker 7: We were betting Tonga to score a touchdown because we
- 23:25Speaker 7: were like, who the fuck is gonna score a touchdown?
- 23:28Speaker 7: Who's gonna catch a touchdown? For the Patriots, they have
- 23:30Speaker 7: red zone issues. Dobbs he can he's he can win
- 23:34Speaker 7: in the red zone. He's not gonna be a guy
- 23:35Speaker 7: that's gonna give you explosive plays. But like Matt Cowen
- 23:38Speaker 7: should be a vibes guy that's a healthy scratch every week.
- 23:41Speaker 7: Uh kaishawn boute. It should be just like a situational
- 23:44Speaker 7: deep threat. Him and Williams overlap. But and then Diggs
- 23:49Speaker 7: clearly wasn't worse the money and keep it around because
- 23:53Speaker 7: the thing about Diggs is you could feed him during
- 23:56Speaker 7: the regular season and Drake Maye was just amazing. But
- 23:58Speaker 7: in the playoffs, Stefon Diggs in four games, and this
- 24:02Speaker 7: is your number one receiver who had a thousand yards
- 24:03Speaker 7: in the regular season four playoff Gamesdefon Diggs averaged three
- 24:07Speaker 7: and a half catches for twenty seven and.
- 24:09Speaker 3: A half more babies born than catches in the postseason
- 24:14Speaker 3: and twenty I went to a I went to a.
- 24:16Speaker 6: Cardi b concert. Oh my god, I can't believe he
- 24:19Speaker 6: fumbled that. Oh my god, she agreed. Okay, she made
- 24:23Speaker 6: kay Lowney look like a civilian out there. It was crazy.
- 24:25Speaker 2: All up.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Question, Patriots fans are as we know, I work in
- 24:30Speaker 3: the Boston Market. Patriots fans here.
- 24:32Speaker 6: Boston Market. Oh I love that restaurant, Soda Stucky. Yeah,
- 24:37Speaker 6: Boston Market.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Oh you have not been You have not been to
- 24:44Speaker 1: a Boston Market in the last ten years?
- 24:45Speaker 6: With that, Yes, I have. I went to uh SO.
- 24:48Speaker 7: I was still living in New York during COVID and
- 24:50Speaker 7: they have one are in the Cross.
- 24:52Speaker 6: County uh Cocking mall so receipts. Yeah. And now also.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Boston Market has faded into the food court at the malls.
- 25:06Speaker 6: No, it was always in the food court at the
- 25:08Speaker 6: ball bro It hasn't faded.
- 25:10Speaker 7: It was there like it was them and Roy Rogers
- 25:13Speaker 7: maybe in the early nineties.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Cool.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Now, I'm not gonna argue with.
- 25:19Speaker 6: You about that. And the Carville ice cream.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Mid nineties Boston Market is It's completely that's a completely
- 25:26Speaker 1: different set of analysis.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Where were we?
- 25:29Speaker 3: Anyway, fans here and our talk show hosts are convinced
- 25:35Speaker 3: that aj Brown is still going to be a Patriot
- 25:39Speaker 3: And you cannot convince me. I said on our show
- 25:42Speaker 3: on Tuesday that robber Craft is going to spend any
- 25:45Speaker 3: amount of money to get him here. Patriots fans were like,
- 25:49Speaker 3: we want aj Brown and Robert Craft was like, we've
- 25:51Speaker 3: got Romeo Dobs at home. What are the odds that
- 25:54Speaker 3: they get both?
- 25:57Speaker 6: I think I don't think they're super like. I agree
- 26:01Speaker 6: with you. I think Dobbs is the number two, So
- 26:03Speaker 6: I don't think.
- 26:03Speaker 7: I think the fact that they went out and took
- 26:05Speaker 7: a risk on Diggs last year says that they would
- 26:08Speaker 7: they would still try to pursue Breck because I think
- 26:10Speaker 7: Dobb's are number two that helps him in the red zone.
- 26:12Speaker 7: But they still need a number one because they already
- 26:15Speaker 7: showed that they don't want to play uh, you know,
- 26:18Speaker 7: like Douglas as a full time guy who they lost Hooper,
- 26:22Speaker 7: So like they still have a spot for like a
- 26:26Speaker 7: major pass catching weapon that's higher on the depth chart
- 26:30Speaker 7: than Dobbs.
- 26:31Speaker 6: So I don't think it's impossible, But it's.
- 26:33Speaker 7: More like Eagles really gonna that's a question because the
- 26:38Speaker 7: Eagles have the best gam in the.
- 26:39Speaker 3: League, and and and Jalen just wrote a children's book.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Who's going to read that on the sideline if they
- 26:46Speaker 3: let him go? Perfect marketing.
- 26:49Speaker 6: He hates Jalen though I don't know.
- 26:51Speaker 3: But he just I'm just saying he wrote a children's
- 26:55Speaker 3: book he loves to read on the sidelines. That's marketing
- 26:57Speaker 3: if I've.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Ever seen it on excellence. Okay, still to come.
- 27:03Speaker 1: We will get Raybon's one move he still wants to
- 27:06Speaker 1: see happen. But first, a worry about DraftKings from yours truly.

- 27:42Speaker 1: is yours all right, Raybon, hit us with it one
- 27:46Speaker 1: move that you would like to see that has not
- 27:49Speaker 1: yet transpired.
- 27:51Speaker 7: I got a hot take, so I'm there's a player.
- 27:54Speaker 7: I would There's two places I would.
- 27:56Speaker 6: Like to see him go. One is obvious, but one
- 27:58Speaker 6: I'm gonna throw.
- 27:59Speaker 5: This to you.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Ken hear Decker to the Patriots.
- 28:03Speaker 3: And I don't care. I'm not a Patriots fan. Anything
- 28:08Speaker 3: makes them worse makes my job easier to talk about.
- 28:11Speaker 3: So if they were like close in conversations then fumbled it,
- 28:15Speaker 3: that's my dream scenario because it's easier for me to
- 28:17Speaker 3: come up with a show script and talk shit about
- 28:19Speaker 3: something than it is to be like, yeah, that was awesome.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Do you know what I would have had to say
- 28:23Speaker 3: if they won the Super Bowl? I would have been like, yeah, cool,
- 28:26Speaker 3: all right. But since they lost, and they lost in
- 28:28Speaker 3: an epic fashion.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I have content until September. There are two different types
- 28:33Speaker 2: of local radio hosts. There's the Homer host and there's
- 28:37Speaker 2: the Needler.
- 28:39Speaker 1: And I love that because like, I'm the same way.
- 28:42Speaker 7: It's like I hate our Sleepers pods on the Fantasy
- 28:46Speaker 7: Flex love the Busts pods, like uh hate Over's love unders.
- 28:53Speaker 7: I would be like Harper on Industry, I just create
- 28:55Speaker 7: a whole sort's only fund like that.
- 28:57Speaker 6: That would be if I was a finance dude.
- 28:59Speaker 7: But the thing, the reason I say Decker to the
- 29:01Speaker 7: Patriots is he was just as good last year.
- 29:04Speaker 6: The Lions didn't want to pay him. He is on
- 29:06Speaker 6: the older side.
- 29:06Speaker 7: But his path blocking efficiency last year was ninety four
- 29:09Speaker 7: point four according to PFF career ninety four point five.
- 29:12Speaker 7: So he gave up only two sacks last year. And
- 29:17Speaker 7: I think, like everyone's expecting the Patriots maybe use you
- 29:20Speaker 7: know what money they have left, maybe on like a
- 29:22Speaker 7: wide receiver, another wide receiver, something like that. But Will
- 29:26Speaker 7: Campbell was terrible.
- 29:29Speaker 3: The worst historically worst ever.
- 29:32Speaker 6: So like my thing is a sun cost? Is a
- 29:35Speaker 6: sun cost? Now will cost? But yes, you're right.
- 29:39Speaker 7: So it's like if you if you spend the money
- 29:44Speaker 7: on Decker, it would probably be a short term deal anyway,
- 29:46Speaker 7: like a two year deal you then detailed, right, but
- 29:51Speaker 7: you would have the flexibility to say either either you
- 29:53Speaker 7: would have a really good swing tackle in Campbell or Mote.
- 29:57Speaker 6: You could move Campbell to the right side or make
- 30:00Speaker 6: him an.
- 30:01Speaker 7: Exactly And and thus I think you have to kind
- 30:06Speaker 7: of explore that option because honestly, Drake may might just
- 30:11Speaker 7: be okay with Romeo Dobbs as number one. What could
- 30:13Speaker 7: he had last year? I mean Stefon Diggs was a
- 30:15Speaker 7: show of himself and he still got a thousand yards.
- 30:17Speaker 7: And then their other receivers were mac Hollands, Kayshawn Booty,
- 30:21Speaker 7: and Uhmar and they all had.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Like career years.
- 30:24Speaker 7: They all had like really good years compared to what
- 30:27Speaker 7: expectation was. So it's like Drake May is gonna make
- 30:29Speaker 7: these people starts. He had the highest completion percentage. They
- 30:33Speaker 7: might be fine a receiver, but in the playoffs we
- 30:36Speaker 7: saw that their offense could not function. Their defense is
- 30:39Speaker 7: still going to be great, their offen drab, their their
- 30:42Speaker 7: offense could not function. Drake May could not function because
- 30:46Speaker 7: of those quick pressures. So I think if I was
- 30:48Speaker 7: the Patriots, I would be willing to spend on on
- 30:51Speaker 7: a quality tackle, especially one on uh that's on a
- 30:56Speaker 7: short term deal that's coming from a winning coachure. Like,
- 30:58Speaker 7: I think that would be a great movie. I agree,
- 31:00Speaker 7: if if not there the Bears, because if that's another
- 31:03Speaker 7: team that needs to I mean, he's mad at the Lions,
- 31:09Speaker 7: so he would definitely go to the Bears despite them. Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 7: the as for his release, he was like, yo, they
- 31:15Speaker 7: I thought things were going to turn out different. After
- 31:17Speaker 7: ten he had this whole statement that he wrote on
- 31:19Speaker 7: Twitter like it was all professional.
- 31:20Speaker 6: And shit like.
- 31:21Speaker 7: So yeah, I think he would go to the Bears,
- 31:24Speaker 7: but I would like to see the Patriots make an
- 31:26Speaker 7: aggressive play for him, because I think you can't waste
- 31:29Speaker 7: this Drake May time, and he's proved he could do
- 31:30Speaker 7: it with shit receiver on a.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Rookie deal too.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Protect Drake May at all costs. Protect this man at
- 31:37Speaker 1: all costs. Chris Raybond two pods in a row.
- 31:40Speaker 2: So nice.
- 31:41Speaker 1: We did it twice, Chris, Where can people find you?
- 31:43Speaker 1: And what are you have coming up next?
- 31:45Speaker 7: You can find me at the Bear Elegant Strip Club
- 31:48Speaker 7: and no, I'm just kidding. Oh you can find me
- 31:49Speaker 7: at Chris raymon own Twitter and in the Action Network app.
- 31:55Speaker 7: Check out the Action Ework podcast if you're into the Oscars,
- 31:59Speaker 7: we just did a episode for that, as we do
- 32:01Speaker 7: every year as well.
- 32:03Speaker 2: We're betting on the Sinners, right, No.
- 32:05Speaker 6: I thought The Centers was trash.
- 32:08Speaker 4: This is the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.
- 32:10Speaker 7: Oh my god, finally somebody said it, like, yeah, it.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Is the most overrated movie.
- 32:16Speaker 7: Like it was like the guy was like when Jordan
- 32:18Speaker 7: Field goes wrong, that that's like it was just that. Yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 7: it was bad. It was bad, but everyone saw it.
- 32:23Speaker 7: So that's why it's getting out of type. Everyone saw it, yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 7: like it's it is a boss off box office smash.
- 32:28Speaker 5: But yeah for everybody on the show, homework.
- 32:31Speaker 7: Centers except it, we're fade and centers except in the
- 32:34Speaker 7: technical categories.
- 32:35Speaker 6: That's under that.
- 32:38Speaker 5: What can I watch on a vampire network?
- 32:42Speaker 3: Is it a vampire thing?
- 32:45Speaker 6: You don't see? You watch one battle after another and
