- 1:56up on the show today A little bit later on, we've joined by Republican
- 1:59strategy. Just Greg Thomas, He's got a whole lot to talk about with
- 2:02all the either polling numbers that have come out about the governor's race, at
- 2:06about the Senate race. Joe Manchin is out now we're gonna get Greg Thomas's
- 2:09take on that coming up a little bit later on. Also, Chad Priyther
- 2:13from Huntington Banks is going to be stopping by. We've got a partnership going
- 2:16on with WVRC Media, our parent company, and Huntington Banks as it has
- 2:20to do with the Special Olympics. We're gonna talk to Chad about that a
- 2:23little bit later on. But before we get to all that, if you
- 2:24have driven around past our palatial estate here at eleven eleven Virginia Street East and
- 2:30Charleston, you have seen that we got all the vans out on the parking
- 2:35lot, and we got a lot of our folks out on the parking lot
- 2:38as well. And because we are doing our first annual turkey drop trying to
- 2:44collect some frozen turkeys or monetary donations for those who need this hobby season,
- 2:49they got to kind of put this whole thing together. From a sister station
- 2:52ninety six one kws's Rob Real, Robert, good morning. How are you
- 2:55now? We're not going to get Rob going down the Mountain. We don't
- 2:59have any money going down the mountain. Got morons on my sorry Struther Martin
- 3:04in the intro, and it's just been stuck in my head and there's not
- 3:07a lot of call for me to get to do my Struther Martin only on
- 3:09this show? Can you do the strouther Martin's on my team? Yes,
- 3:15I take the blame for putting all this together. The very first WVRC Media
- 3:21turkey drop with the big Ley Pigly Wiggly. We are gathering frozen turkeys.
- 3:24That's it. There are all sorts of other food drives that do nonperishable food
- 3:29items, and those are great. I appreciate support them all. I appreciate
- 3:32every single person who donates to every single one of those. But the hardest
- 3:36thing to do, the most expensive thing to get for a holiday meal is
- 3:39the meat. It is the turkey. And so this is an idea that
- 3:45I had seen in some other forms and some other places I've worked, and
- 3:47I thought, you know what, I think our friends and neighbors in West
- 3:50Virginia would love to help our friends and neighbors in need this holiday season,
- 3:53so we are gathering up frozen turkeys. It's I it's that simple, just
- 3:59frozen turkey. We have a few parting gifts for maybe if you swing through
- 4:02our drive through set up here at eleven eleven Virginia Street East. Thank you
- 4:06to Chick fil A in South Ridge and in South Charleston on mccorkor Avenue.
- 4:11We've got some art and craft fair passes. I think we had some fun
- 4:15stuff, but it's not really about that. It's about the feel good of
- 4:16helping your friends and neighbors. Just swing by with a frozen turkey. We'll
- 4:20take it right from you. Don't have to get out of your vehicle and
- 4:24we'll just we'll load it right up and we will get it to the people
- 4:27who need it. And we started at six am this morning. Mac guitar
- 4:30Murphy's been kind of manning things out there. The rest of us been going
- 4:31out as best we can. And we'll be there till six o'clock tonight.
- 4:35And I just happened to be out there in this morning when a gentleman pulled
- 4:40in on his way to work and heard about it. And I asked you
- 4:43if I said you know, I didn't even get his name. His name
- 4:46is Dave too. Well, all good people are named Dave. I asked
- 4:48him if I we should hiring him because we have eight thousand other people named
- 4:53Dave in this company. We ask can we get him a job application?
- 4:55But I asked him, I said, you know, can we take your
- 4:57picture? And that's the picture if you go to my social media you'll see
- 5:00with Rob and this gentleman out there. He really wasn't about taking it.
- 5:03I mean, he agreed to do it. He said, well, that's
- 5:05not really why I'm here. I appreciate that because that not everybody has to
- 5:10have their faith out and everything when it comes to charitable things. This gentleman
- 5:14agreed to do it for us. But that's what this is all about.
- 5:17That's why I always say, Rob, whether it's your station, whether it's
- 5:21my station, you know, all the others in the building. We have
- 5:24the greatest listeners in the world. Here I am. I am blessed to
- 5:27be part of the nine percent who loves what I do for a living,
- 5:30and everything in life is a trade off. I get to do all sorts
- 5:32of cool stuff, be backstage at concerts, every sporting event, you can
- 5:35imagine. I've had the opportunity to cover. I've met a lot of really
- 5:40cool people. The trade offer that is, I have a responsibility to help
- 5:44my friends and neighbors more than just what's you know on our license serve the
- 5:46public interest, convenience, and necessity. It is really my job to lift
- 5:50as I climb. I genuinely believe that, And so days like today,
- 5:55when we can help our friends and neighbors in need with just a little something
- 5:58like this one frozen turn, he is not going to break a lot of
- 6:00folks, but it's gonna make a lot of folks holidays. So that's why
- 6:05I love doing this sort. And if you're not in a position, maybe
- 6:09you're on your lunch hour and you can't run over to big Ley Piggly Wiggly
- 6:12or any of the other fine grocery establishments we have in the air, we
- 6:15kind of like to have people go over there because they're a partnership and that's
- 6:17but you know, we'll take what we can get. We'll take cash donations
- 6:20as well. We've had several people that have rolled in. Well, thanks
- 6:24to those folks that rolled in, gave us a one hundred dollars check.
- 6:26We appreciate that. We actually sent the boss, Joe Parsons out shopping this
- 6:30morning. So the Boss, the Boss, the big Boss here is out
- 6:34to shopping as we speak. I kind of like the idea of seeing Joe
- 6:38Parsons push a buggy along Bigley pigley wiggly. But yeah, maybe you just
- 6:42go around the office or the work site today and you take up a collection
- 6:44and then somebody goes at lunch and makes this happen. Whatever we can do
- 6:47to make for a happier holiday, a festive feast. Everyone deserves a little
- 6:53joy at the holidays, and so we're doing our best to make that happen.
- 6:56And again, this is one of those events we have three or four
- 6:58year rob where we're all together on Sunday. We got the folks from V
- 7:01one hundred that are out there we got to beat, We got you know,
- 7:04the mountains that we're all out there, all out there today and we'll
- 7:09be until six o'clock this evening, which is kind of hard on you old
- 7:13old morning radio guys. Because I was one for over twenty years. I
- 7:16know what you're talking about now, I'm just old. That's exactly what I
- 7:20all. Right, So again kind of recapping here. It's w VRC Media
- 7:24Charleston big Le Pigley Wiggily drive through Turkey drop at our studios eleven eleven Virginia's
- 7:29Treaties to hear in Charleston till six o'clock tonight, collecting frozen turkeys to give
- 7:32to those in need this Thanksgiving holiday season, accepting cash to and what you
- 7:39kind of alluded to there was we were saying we're kind of keeping running total
- 7:42out there. For the first five hundred people that donate, you're going to
- 7:46get a coupon for a free breakfast from Chick fil A in South Charleston or
- 7:51South Ridge. So that's kind of cool. Hands hats off, hands off,
- 7:57hats off, hands on. Heads to Tom men turned into folks for
- 8:01making all that happen with Chick filt They always do a great job taking care.
- 8:03We do some other things with him too, with free lunch Friday on
- 8:07ninety six to one KWUS hashtag shameless plug that they do great stuff for us.
- 8:11And if you have questions about all this that we've been talking about,
- 8:15I know we've rapid fired a whole bunch of things. I'm used to saying
- 8:18ninety six to one, KWUS dot com, any of the station websites B
- 8:22one hundred dot FM. You can go to any of all the social media's
- 8:26stuff. It's all right there. Look for that goofy Turkey. No,
- 8:28I don't meet me and Dave. I mean the actual turkey, and you
- 8:31will find out about the WVRC Media Turkey drop with the big Lee Pigly Wiggly
- 8:35All right. I appreciate Rob. I appreciate you being here, and I
- 8:37get back to work. Yes, sir, there's a little morning show you
- 8:39do in the basement. You may want to get back down there again.
- 8:43It's unfortunately the kind of music Rob plays doesn't have a free bird or anything
- 8:48Randa put on to come here and join us. But again, I do
- 8:50appreciate Rob for run it upstairs. Now he's got to get back downstairs and
- 8:54hope that his music didn't come to an end. It is the WVRC Media
- 8:58Charleston Bigley Piggly Wiggly drive through Turkey drop now at our studios eleven eleven Virginia
- 9:03Street to eat east here in Charleston. We started at six this morning and
- 9:09Matt Guitar Murphy was out there then we had people running as early as six
- 9:11and six thirty this morning. We're gonna do it till six o'clock this evening.
- 9:16The weather, if you're looking for a reason to get out of the
- 9:18office today, the weather's absolutely gonna be fantastic. Little chili right now,
- 9:22but it's gonna warm up. Weather's gonna be great. We'll accept the frozen
- 9:26turkeys. We'll accept cash too, and remember the first five hundred people that
- 9:31donate get a coupon for a free breakfast courtesy of Chick fil A in South
- 9:35Charleston or South Ridge. So it's still six o'clock tonight. All of our
- 9:39stations are taking part. We're looking forward to seeing you there. The phone

- 10:15Fruth location your hometown Farmerly Pharmacy, that is for seventy one years. As
- 10:20I said, coming up a little bit later on the show, Republican strategist
- 10:22Greg Thomas is going to join us. Also standing by. In just a
- 10:24bit, We're going to talk to Chad Prather from Huntington Banks about a partnership
- 10:28with WVRC Media, our parent company, and the Special Olympics. Some news
- 10:33broke late late Tuesday night and yesterday, and we all know about the problems
- 10:41with Man and Meal in Charleston, especially the location directly across the street from
- 10:45US and to Saint John. So at some point Tuesday evening there was a
- 10:50board meeting and the chairman of the board, Chuck Hampshire, and one other
- 10:54person opted to resign from the board, furthering that organization's issues. I actually
- 11:03talked with mister Hampster who's been on the show in the past. I talked
- 11:05to Chuck yesterday and invited him on the show, but he politely declined,
- 11:11which is understandable, opting I guess rather, I guess he wanted to wait
- 11:16to see what the next move of the board would be. So we're going
- 11:18to hold off on that until then. So that is a developing story.
- 11:24But again, two of the top officials talking about the post folks on the
- 11:26board, not paid officials or anything. People that were on the board from
- 11:31Man and Meal opting late Tuesday night early Wednesday to resigned. And we'll have
- 11:35more on that, and mister Hampshire has promised me that he will come on
- 11:39the show to talk about it, but that'll be at some time in the
- 11:41future. I certainly respect that the West Side continues to try to get everyone's
- 11:46gas back on that over two hundred. That as of early early this morning
- 11:52when I checked, we're back online well over two hundred, so that's good
- 11:54news. Still got a long way to go, though they had a lot
- 11:58happening yesterday. Now. There are further details at WCHS network dot com on
- 12:03the wv Metro News dot com website. The Governor yesterday did issue a state
- 12:09of emergency, and there had been some questions about that as to whether what
- 12:15has happened would meet the threshold all of the particulars you have to have for
- 12:20a state of emergency. The City of Charleston, people would ask about that
- 12:22really did not have the authority to do that. It had to come from
- 12:26higher up. Yesterday late yesterday afternoon press release from the governor came out that
- 12:31he has issued now a state of emergency, which is good news. Allows
- 12:35a National Guard and other folks to come in to help with the trying to
- 12:39get every folks, everybody back online over there at the on the west side
- 12:43of Charleston. So that's where we are right now. Again. Further details

- 16:17I want to get to this just real quick, and that is your
- 16:19hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds. They got some big goings on
- 16:23over there. The Dirty Birds and Slango Law present Light the Night, this
- 16:29incredible Christmas light display over into a gold ballpark and it's actually going to open
- 16:33up, and I think there's a media event tonight. Hours are going to
- 16:37be from five pm till nine pm Monday through Thursday, and five to ten
- 16:40on Friday and Saturday. They will be closed November the twentieth, the twenty
- 16:44seventh, and December second. Now coming up on the show tomorrow, we're
- 16:47going to have our good friend Eden Douglass from the Dirty Birds on as my
- 16:49special Friday co host for Friday Funhouse tomorrow to talk about that big event.
- 16:53But I saw some pictures posted last night kind of some dry runs they're doing
- 16:56over there. This thing is absolutely incredible. If you're into the Christmas lights
- 17:00Man, you got to get over to the ballpark and that check this out
- 17:03again. It's sponsored by Selango Law and I'm going to get into that with
- 17:07Eaton Douglass coming up on the show tomorrow. Chad Prayther joined us right now.
- 17:12He's the regional president of Huntington Bank, West Virginia. Chad, good
- 17:15morning, How are you hey, Dave, good morning, doing fantastic.
- 17:18How are you today? I'm doing fine, Thank you. Welcome to the
- 17:22show. By now, I'm hoping everyone has seen the video that Metro News
- 17:26was able to work out with Huntington Bank talking about the impact of the Special
- 17:30Olympics not only on the athletes, Chad and the families of the athletes,
- 17:34but also the community as a whole. That video, by the way,
- 17:37available on all of our platforms including Mind, Dave Allen Radio on Facebook,
- 17:41and the Dave Allen Chill on X the artist formerly known as Twitter. It
- 17:45is a pretty powerful stuff, Chad, very very powerful. You know,
- 17:49the team at Pike Wood did a really tremendous job highlighting the just the great
- 17:55work that the Special Olympic, Special Olympics of West Virginia is doing for those
- 17:59athletes and their families that you know, and highlights a couple of specific stories
- 18:03of athletes and their you know, their journeys throughout Special Olympics and and you
- 18:10know, one one of the athletes in particular is now living independently and as
- 18:15a student at WVU and and just talks about how you know, Special Olympics
- 18:19help frame that for her and get her into a position where she could do
- 18:22that. So it's it's just a really uh, you know, I think
- 18:26powerful and touching video that that was done, and we were proud to partner
- 18:30with, uh with pike Wood to put that together. Yeah, and they
- 18:33do some incredible work. And again we're a little bit biased here because it's
- 18:36kind of one of our sister companies, pike Wood Creative, as part of
- 18:38our big w v RC media family here. This program chat is called West
- 18:45Virginia Enriched. And I know that you folks at Huntington are are very very
- 18:48big part of it. Why are you so involved in this? Well,
- 18:52so you know, the idea came that you know, uh, you know
- 18:56Huntington. You know, we have a tagline It's welcome and it's a it's
- 18:59a simple thing, but it's welcome to all and we you know, we
- 19:02believe that, you know, we need to highlight stories of great things that
- 19:06are happening in West Virginia. You know, we hear plenty of things going
- 19:10on in the world right now that could get somebody down or get their day
- 19:14down, and you know, just really want to highlight some partnerships that we
- 19:18have across the state, you know, things that we support that are just
- 19:22doing really tremendous work that could also utilize some additional support. So West Virginia
- 19:27and Rich earlier in the year did a program with the Food Bank and the
- 19:33support of the Food Bank with veterans across the states, with thirteen thousand veterans
- 19:37who are are hungry. Now we've you know, released this most recent video
- 19:44that again came out here over the last couple of days, and we'd love
- 19:45for everybody to go check it out and maybe grab a tissue while you're at
- 19:49it. It's a pretty moving thing, but you know, really special.
- 19:53Olympics in West Virginia is supporting forty four hundred you know, children and adults
- 19:59in West Virginia and uh, you know, these these athletes are you know,
- 20:03inspiring is the word I use, but it's just an understatement. You
- 20:07know, if you go out and you you spend some time with them,
- 20:10and you attend these events in any way or certainly volunteer, you're going to
- 20:15walk away feeling better about yourself. It's not you know, you think you're
- 20:18going to go in and youre, hey, I'm here to help these these
- 20:21kids or help these athletes. But you walk away feeling better about yourself because
- 20:26you've been, uh been a part of it. And you know, I
- 20:27think I think the world can use a little bit of that right now.
- 20:30And Chad, it's kind of a situation like who's helping who here? You
- 20:33know, it's kind of it's kind of I'm a big animal person, and
- 20:36it's kind of like who adopted who from the shelter here? And that's And
- 20:41I watched some of the videos when they first I got an advanced copy of
- 20:45and then I watched them again when I was prepared for the show this morning.
- 20:48Chat as you said, get the tissues ready because uh, and the
- 20:52sadness is not part of it. It just inspiring for all of us in
- 20:56our day to day lives. Chain Yeah, it really is really really is
- 21:00they they? Uh, you know what's cool about it is the athletes.
- 21:03Uh, you know, they go by the Moniker of the maximum effort rule
- 21:07and so uh, you know, the the only requirement is that you give
- 21:12it your all. And you know you can see the you know, the
- 21:15pride that comes through with the athletes as they finish their families. It's just
- 21:21you know, it's super touching, uh to be a part of it.
- 21:23And and really what we hope is that you know, people will will look
- 21:26at the video, they'll you know, have the same inspiration that you and
- 21:32I had when we watched it and want to get involved with Special Olympics in
- 21:34some way. And certainly they can think they can do that with financial support
- 21:38or or volunteerism, either of which would be you know, greatly appreciated by
- 21:44the by the Special Olympics in West Virginia. But uh, you know,
- 21:47really, more than anything, just just want to highlight and raise awareness of
- 21:51of all the great work that they're doing at that organization and and these these
- 21:55kids and these athletes, it's just it's it's inspiring. As we said,
- 21:57and Chad, I will say this too. These athletes and I have known
- 22:03several that have taken part. I know their families, these athletes take this
- 22:07very very seriously. I mean it's this is an athlete. At the end
- 22:11of the day, it's still an athletic competition. And they, I mean
- 22:15they they are hardcore about doing their best out there. Oh look, they're
- 22:21they're you know, I played sports my all of my childhood. I coach
- 22:25teams, done different things. These kids are are going you know, they're
- 22:29they're training, They're training many times every week. They're working really hard at
- 22:33it. Some of them, you know, hey let me some of them
- 22:36are, hey, let me just finish this, and that's such a huge
- 22:38accomplishment. But but many of them are, let me improve my time and
- 22:41let me, you know, try to win this. And and regardless of
- 22:45what the outcome result that they're they're trying to achieve, every single one of
- 22:49them and their families walk away, you know, extraordinarily proud, and whether
- 22:55they got a ribbon or they got a medal or they you know, whatever
- 22:59it is. And the camaraderie is something that's really great to see too,
- 23:02all of the the athletes coming together to congratulate one on one another for reaching
- 23:07whatever their goal is. It's you know, again, inspiring is the word,
- 23:10but inspiring remains an understatement exactly Right now, we're going to be hearing
- 23:15a lot more about this collaborative effort between our all of our stations. And
- 23:18you mentioned pike Wood and Metro News and all of our stations around the state.
- 23:22I know that. I think I heard you on Hoby Show the other
- 23:25day, so you're you're definitely trying to get the word out there about this.
- 23:27And we applaud you, and we applaud the folks at UH at your
- 23:32bank for Huntington there, for for making it making it all happen. I
- 23:36know you're a busy guy, uh, and I appreciate you taking time to
- 23:38be here. But any any any final words before we let you go chat.
- 23:42Well, I really appreciate you having me. The thing that I'd leave
- 23:45you with is just go check it out. You know. I think West
- 23:48Virginia Metro or wb Metro News dot com would be the place to check it
- 23:52out right there on the front page. And and uh, it's uh,
- 23:56you know, it's inspiring. It's something that we really want to get the
- 24:00word out on all the great work that the Special Olympics in West Virginia is
- 24:03doing. You can look for more of these you know that we're going to
- 24:07sponsor again. We want to highlight the work we're doing in the community,
- 24:11but more so the community organizations themselves and all the fantastic people that they're supporting
- 24:17and just wonderful things that are happening in West Virginia in a time across the
- 24:21world that you know, we could just use a little bit of that.
- 24:23So that's the goal of West Virginia and Riched and we're really proud to be
- 24:27part of it. All right, Chad, I'll let you get back to
- 24:30work. I appreciate it. We'll talk again soon. Man, Thanks a
- 24:33lot, Thanks for having me, all right, take care. Chad Brather

- 31:07people? Yeah, you know, Christian all the all the stuff. Yeah,
- 31:11all the stuff we got all world traveler, but mainly because of your
- 31:17kids being involved in everything we were talking about off the air. I just
- 31:19don't know how how parents keep up with everything that their kids do. All
- 31:22right, So since we last talked, there's a lot of stuff I want
- 31:25to get to it. As always, Greg's always open to take phone calls
- 31:27or text. But since we last talked, Senator Mansion is out of the
- 31:33Senate race. Worst kept secret in the world. We just it was a
- 31:34matter of when he was going to announce it. Some people were surprised by
- 31:37as quickly as he announced it because he kind of eluded it would be around
- 31:41Christmas at some point, and it just that it didn't surprise people Greg that
- 31:45announced it. But it just kind of came out of nowhere on that particular
- 31:48day. Now, you may have had advance notice, I know a lot
- 31:51of people in the media did not. Now he says, well, he
- 31:53was on hoppy yesterday and he may run for president. Your thoughts, I
- 31:59definitely think he wants to run for president. If I were him, I
- 32:02would run for president. I mean, I think, you know, obviously
- 32:09right now with Trump and Biden, they're both polarizing in their different ways.
- 32:15Right, So Trump and I'm a Trump person. You know, I got
- 32:20a little soft on Trump there at the beginning of the year because I thought,
- 32:23well, you know, maybe, you know, maybe it's just too
- 32:27much. But like I think there are a lot of people like me and
- 32:30our party that were like Trump people. But it was like, I can't
- 32:32he do it again? And then it's the Democrats just kept going after him,
- 32:37and you know, this witch hunt and all this crazy legal stuff they're
- 32:40trying. It really did beef up Trump's support, right because it just made
- 32:45his argument for him of like, they're after me because they know I can
- 32:49win, and because they know I'm gonna, you know, go and stick
- 32:52it to them when I get in there, and all that and and you
- 32:54know, so the Democrats wanted Trump to be the nominee, and they're going
- 32:58to get their wish. I think they're going to probably regret that all this
- 33:02stuff does. Greg and I've said this, and we could be on different
- 33:06sides of the Trump thing. That's fine, But I will say this,
- 33:08all of this, all this, no matter what happens, all that does
- 33:12is strengthen it is. If they if they were smart, just back off,
- 33:15you know, I wish you know. The reality is he's right on
- 33:21issues right, Like you may not like the style, you may not like
- 33:23the different stuff. I look, I don't like the people around him,
- 33:27right, I think there are a bunch of grifters and con artists. But
- 33:31he's right on issues, right. I mean, he's right, and the
- 33:34things he says about the things he says about people are true. Biden obviously
- 33:39is way too old. He's way too old. Heck, even Senator Manson
- 33:44said yesterday that he's way too liberal. And so I do think there's room
- 33:51for something in the middle. I don't think you can win. I don't.
- 33:53Look, I don't think Jim I do not think Joe Manchin can win.
- 33:59I think, you know, but I do think there's probably a place
- 34:02for somebody to run and say, hey, if you aren't happy with that
- 34:07and you you know, or if you're not happy with the other sides and
- 34:10you want somebody to come in and have this middle sort of voice, I'm
- 34:13your guy. The trouble that I think he's gonna have is, you know,
- 34:19he needs a platform, right like when you go run for president,
- 34:22you have to run as a party. Right. He can't win the Democratic
- 34:25nomination. I mean, the Democrats in these big states are lunatics and they're
- 34:30absolutely insane. I mean, I mean they are, though I mean,
- 34:32like I'm not saying, Look, I think that there are insane Democrats in
- 34:36West Virginia, but I don't think the average Democrat in West Virginia is an
- 34:38insane person. I think the average Democrat in New York City is they don't
- 34:45live in reality. I think the average Democrat in California doesn't live in reality.
- 34:50And so I don't think a Joe Manchin could win a Democratic nomination because
- 34:53those are the people that control their party, or those liberal big state liberals,
- 34:59and he'd have no chance. You know, let me jump in here
- 35:00real quick, because I want to mention this and we'll come back to statewide.
- 35:05One of the things that I think Greg that's going to be problematic for
- 35:07the Democratic nominee for Joe Biden is is the war in Israel. Because last
- 35:14night there was yet another instance of at a Democratic function, and I don't
- 35:20know ralf the top of my head exactly what what it was was going on.
- 35:22People there anti Israel, Yeah, are going after the Democrats right now,
- 35:29I mean there, I mean, forget about the Republicans. This venom
- 35:32that they have toward Israel is going They're going straight after the Democrats, and
- 35:37it's going to be problematic for Joe Biden on when you when it comes to
- 35:42some of the more far left parts of the of the of the Democratic Party,
- 35:46Dave, you are one hundred percent right. I mean, for the
- 35:49people that want to say, like Republicans have a problem with some of our
- 35:52far right, you know, proud Boys or whatever, they're anti semii Semitic
- 35:59l element of their party is much much bigger than a far right the right
- 36:04hand. It's a huge factor and they are really really split on the issue.
- 36:10Heck, even what's the Fetterman, the Pennsylvania Senator, he's like way
- 36:16out there you know, all of a sudden, like this guy's saying stuff
- 36:20I agree with on Israel, you know what I mean? Like, like
- 36:22that's when you know the Democrats are going to have a problem that they have
- 36:24some people that are actually being reasonable on this issue or or sort of sensible,
- 36:30but they have a lot of radicalized pro and it's legitimately pro Hamas,
- 36:36which I think is just an unbelievable thing to think that there's that much.
- 36:40Dude, there's that. Did you see some of the pictures from the San
- 36:46Francisco Uh, you know, the Chinese president was in town and you had
- 36:51all these Chinese flags and all this. I just don't think. I don't
- 36:55think. I don't think the average person in West Virginia can has a full
- 37:00rasp on exactly how much anti American sentiment there is within the Democratic Party from
- 37:07in a national perspective, and whether it's whether it's the Israel thing like you
- 37:12talked about, whether it's some stuff related to China or some of this other
- 37:16stuff. I just don't think they realize how. And I don't know,
- 37:22maybe anti American is probably strong. I would just say not pro American.
- 37:27Right there, there really are foreign interests right, there's just so much.
- 37:31I mean, we were just this globalized country. Uh, and there's and
- 37:36especially in these big cities and and whatever. You know. I just got
- 37:39I just flew back from Atlanta yesterday and it was down there for a few
- 37:43days for a conference, and just even being in Atlanta, man, I
- 37:45mean, the the the you know, foreign influence of everything is just so
- 37:50tremendous, Uh that I just don't think the average person here we don't see
- 37:54it here. Right, It's just not something we see. But you know,
- 37:58look back to Mansion, I don't His trouble is he's going to have
- 38:01to have a party and it can't It's not gonna be the Democrats. It's
- 38:04not gonna be the problem with Republicans. So he's looking for this no labels
- 38:07organization that has that that is that has been spending time and money getting on
- 38:13the ballot in other states. So he really needs that nomination, his truck,
- 38:17his challenge. There is a lot of the people that are within that
- 38:22organization are just anti Trump, right, and then there's a there's a section
- 38:27of people. There's there's a group of people within that group that really like
- 38:30believe in the middle middle way, cause like a third way sort of effort.
- 38:35I think Joe Manchin is ideal for their third wave effort. I think
- 38:38the trouble is there's some people that think Mansion would help Trump, right,
- 38:44and then there's some people. There was another US senator, Democrat, US
- 38:45senator that came out the other day that said he doesn't think Manchon should run,
- 38:50but he thought Manson would help Biden. And I really don't know.
- 38:52I think it's a state by state basis, you know what I mean.
- 38:55I was, I was just in Georgia, and I'm telling you know,
- 38:58those Republicans down there, they don't like Trump, right, Remember they're they're
- 39:00governors in this like blood feud with them and all this stuff. I met
- 39:06a lot of Republicans in Georgia this week that were very pro Mansion, like
- 39:10they wanted him to run. I mean, they were aware of this situation,
- 39:13like they wanted him to run and they want to vote for him,
- 39:15you know. So that that's not approach, that's not helping Trump, right.
- 39:19So I think it's an interesting thing. But but I look, I
- 39:22think Mansion should do it. I think he would like it. I don't
- 39:25think he's gonna win. I don't know if he helps Trump or doesn't help
- 39:30Trump. But I you know, if I were him, I would do
- 39:32it. He likes he likes attention, right, he likes attention. He's
- 39:37a social guy. You know. Looked at man, I mean, would
- 39:39it be fun though? Right? I mean, you know, somebody's gonna
- 39:43fly you around the country. You're staying at nice hotels, You're going to
- 39:45these big dinners. You're doing this. Yeah, exactly, man, I
- 39:49mean that's I look at it. People like, do you think he should
- 39:51do it? And I'm like, if I were him, I do it.
- 39:52I mean, I think it'd be fun. But Dave Alancho on five

- 40:24Tex says Greg Thomas sounds like he's given a summary of Fox News talking
- 40:28points, same tired, robotic thoughts. What about that? I just say,
- 40:34was like a Fox News talking I don't Yeah, I don't even watch
- 40:40Greg Thomas. I don't watch. I don't even I don't watch. I
- 40:43don't like Fox News. You're not a Fox News. I don't watch any
- 40:46cable news. I don't watch Fox News. Like I'm I'm against the uh.
- 40:52Look, look, this is one of the reasons, you know,
- 40:54I know I always kind of jab morrisey here and I'm gonna go ahead and
- 40:58do it. Oh good, Like That's the reason I don't support Patrick Morrissey
- 41:02is I don't think Patrick's actually a real conservative. I think what he does
- 41:06is regurgitate Fox News talking points. I think that's the kind of campaign.
- 41:08You really don't like Patrick Morrison. Look, I just I don't think.
- 41:12I don't think he actually knows what the governor's supposed to do. I don't
- 41:15think he should run for Look, I don't he should go run for something
- 41:19at the federal level. That's what he should do. It's what he wanted
- 41:22to do, it's what he should have done. And I just don't think
- 41:23he should run for governor. I don't think he actually knows what the governor
- 41:25is supposed to do. I don't think I don't think he can get along
- 41:29with people well enough to be an effective governor. And I care about the
- 41:32state. I've been very involved in the conservative movement for almost a quarter of
- 41:37a century now here, and and I hate to see it get And I
- 41:42literally think the conservative movement would be set back with a Morrissey governorship because I
- 41:45think he would be a terrible governor. I think he'd be very ineffective,
- 41:50and I think he would set us back. And I think we've made a
- 41:52lot of you know, we've we've done it that the Republican Party has done
- 41:55a lot since we've taken over the control of Charleston. And from all aspects
- 42:00right, we've done, you know, whether it's you know, abortion,
- 42:06we've done a bunch of you know, constitutional carry and the pro pro gun
- 42:09stuff. We've done, the stuff to rate in the liberal you know,
- 42:13union stuff we've done. We've done a lot of legal reform, We've we
- 42:17just did a big the state's biggest tax cut in history. We've done a
- 42:22ton of stuff, We've got a lot of momentum. But I do think
- 42:24there's a lot of things that mean they need to be done from him a
- 42:27gubernatorial administrative standpoint, and you need a leader that's going to be able to
- 42:30go in and work with everybody to get that done. And it's it's just
- 42:34not him. And I think that's the thing. Right. I think there's
- 42:36a lot of politicians and this isn't exclusive to Morrissy here, but I do
- 42:39think there's a lot of politicians we have, we have a lot in the
- 42:43legislature just really don't understand state issues. They just got really excited watching Fox
- 42:49News and decided to run for office, and so you know, and look,
- 42:53and that's great, right, that's great. I just think once you
- 42:55do it, then you've got to kind of reassess and say, Okay,
- 42:59you know, now that I'm here, what do I gotta do? Right?
- 43:00Like, are there things that come up on Fox News that you can
- 43:04do in Charleston. Sure, there are there's things that come up in Fox
- 43:07News that you can do in any county courthouse or any municipal election. But
- 43:12most of those issues are federal issues that need to be handled at that level.
- 43:15And so look, I just want to see you know, yeah,
- 43:20it's ok it's okay to watch Fox News, right, it's okay to watch
- 43:23you know, it's not okay to watch MSNBC. But like it's okay to
- 43:27watch Fox News, it's okay to do that stuff. I just I worry
- 43:30about the people that govern from those talking points. And so when somebody says
- 43:35all Greg's Thomas is doing, that's literally the opposite of what I do.
- 43:37I don't like that. I don't. I don't. I don't do it.
- 43:39I don't like it. Let me throw out a wild political rumor that
- 43:44I heard a couple of days ago to get your take on. With Joe
- 43:47Manchin out of the race for Senate, now, the poll numbers are out
- 43:52mark blanket chips out with the pole he talked about on HOPPYSJ. At the
- 43:54election we're held today, Governor Justice is at sixty one percent, Mooney is
- 43:59at twenty eight percent, eleven percent or undecided in that Senate race. What
- 44:04if someone proposes to me the other day, Patrick Morrissey decides not the run
- 44:08for governor and instead runs for Senate. You know that rumors out there.
- 44:14I'm not saying he shouldn't he should have done it. He should have he
- 44:16should have done it to begin with. Okay, this here, this,
- 44:21it is a good look. Obviously, I'm not in the I'm not in
- 44:23the Morrisey camp, so I can't tell you if that's like the in validity
- 44:27or not. Right, Yeah, but here's why that didn't happen. That
- 44:31didn't happen, And and actually brought up the Mark Blanconship poll. And Mark
- 44:36did a question on there about Club for Growth, right, and Club for
- 44:39Growth is this big national conservative organization that has come in it was had said
- 44:45they were going to spend five or ten million dollars for Mooney and five or
- 44:49ten million dollars for Morrissey, and you know they're going to do all this
- 44:52stuff. They have not spent that money yet and one of the things that
- 44:58they are but but they came out early to support Mooney, and Morrissey was
- 45:04kind of counting on that group for their support. So that's really why he
- 45:07didn't do it. Like there's only so much national money to kind of go
- 45:09for the conservative candidate, so he knew he wasn't going to get that.
- 45:14And the deal was and if you remember, we talked about this before the
- 45:16deal was, and this is Morsey did not want to be governor. But
- 45:21the deal was, Okay, hold off, don't run against Mooney, you
- 45:23know, make it the three way primary, run for governor. We'll support
- 45:28you for that. And then he was going to run against shelleymore Capitau.
- 45:31And because the Club for Growth people don't like Capitou, then he was going
- 45:36to run against her in the next Senate election. And so that's sort of
- 45:39why that didn't happen. There was this like behind the deal, behind the
- 45:43scenes sort of deal, and so that's why that didn't happen. Now that
- 45:46Moaney's so, I don't know, maybe maybe they'll revisit it. And here's
- 45:51the second part, and who got to go to break what I've heard The
- 45:52part of that is that Morrissey gets out of the governor's race instead run for
- 45:57Senate. Mooney then gets out of the Senate race and then runs for his
- 46:04old seat against Riley Moore. I don't give me thirty seconds. Riley would
- 46:07beat him. And look, I've personally talked to Mooney and he said he's
- 46:12not going to do that. Okay, So it's Rumors Man nine fifty three.

- 48:49Thanks Ask Tex, says Ask Greg who he supports for governor? Anybody
- 48:53but Morsey? Anybody but Morsey? All right, you heard it, you
- 48:57heard it in press. I want to turn to the Secretary of State's race.
- 48:59The current and holder of that office, Mac Water, is running for
- 49:01governor. Greg. We all know. Putnam County Clerk Brian Wood was on
- 49:05h ear earlier this week. He's in former delegate House Minority Leader and head
- 49:08of hd MED Doug scaff Is, in Delegate Chris Pritt, former Legislator Ken
- 49:13Reid. Now it seems another Warner, former GOP state chair Chris Warner,
- 49:16maybe I in the office. Hoppy wrote about it in his commentary today.
- 49:21He's expected to make an announcement on December the seventh, which coincidentally is the
- 49:24same day of the first gubernatorial debate. They had to form into Greenvironer,
- 49:28but this is the first actual debate featuring Chris's brother Mac, who will be
- 49:32on that stage with others. Your take on Chris Warner, Doug Staff,
- 49:36any of the Buffer secretary s you know, I know, I actually don't
- 49:38know. I do not know Ken Reid very well. I know all of
- 49:43the rest of those people personally, and I like them all. I would
- 49:47say, and look in Chris and I. Chris and I have been friends
- 49:51since two thousand and two, so Chris and I go way back. I
- 49:54think a lot of Chris. You know, look, and I like the
- 49:59Warners. That the one thing, you know, the Warners are very though
- 50:04much like a grassroots kind of party driven folks rather than big time fundraisers,
- 50:07right, I mean, fundraising has always been the challenge for them. But
- 50:10I do think that that they just they just have such a statewide network.
- 50:15They're known as conservatives. They know a ton of people. I think it's
- 50:20gonna be tough for the other folks to come in short of having a lot
- 50:22of money to be able to run a good campaign against against a Warner.
- 50:28Uh. You know, I do think you know, can read Ken Reid
- 50:31has spent some you know, I don't he's the one. I don't know.
- 50:36He has spent big money on some other races before, so I don't
- 50:38know. I mean, I think he has the potential to put in money.
- 50:42Uh. You know Scaffs, the scaff family has successful businesses here.
- 50:46You know, I think Doug Doug would have a chance of spending a lot
- 50:53of money, right. And so that's where you know, if you remember
- 50:57a year ago and I talked to Hoppy about, Hey, I think if
- 51:00you're running for governor, you gotta have an you gotta have a million dollars
- 51:02in the bank if you want to run for government. And and I still
- 51:05believe that I think we're almost at the point for these down ticket races for
- 51:10the other constitutional officers, where unless you're a big name like Warner with the
- 51:15statewide network, you're gonna have to have a half million dollars. Does Chris
- 51:21Warner hurt hurt mac though in your opinion Warner fatigue? Or does it help?
- 51:27I don't know, you know, I think there's Uh, I don't
- 51:32know. I'm I just don't know. I think I think there's probably it
- 51:37helps and hurts with different groups, right, it helps and hurts with different
- 51:39groups. I think there's some people that probably look at it like, hey,
- 51:45you know, I don't know. I think it helps and hurts.
- 51:47Uh. But I look, I think if Ken Reid or I think if
- 51:52Ken Reid or scaff want to have a chance here, they're gonna have to
- 51:55spend like a half million dollars. What about Brian? Look? I like
- 52:00Ryan a lot, and I say the same thing about Brian, as you
- 52:01know, how are you gonna go get them? You get to go get
- 52:04the money, right, You got to be able to get the money to
- 52:06compete, because now you've got somebody with the state wide network, it'll be
- 52:09it's uphill for sure. But he's a great guy, all right. Greg
- 52:13is always a pleasure to have you on the show. I appreciate the opportunities.
- 52:15Don't forget to drop a frozen turkey off on your way out there.
