Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / ITB: What Would The Best Offense Of NFC East-Only Players Look Like?
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds back. What's going on everybody? And is
- 0:16Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan. Yeah, we're in the thick
- 0:20Speaker 1: of that time between the end of the mini camp
- 0:24Speaker 1: and the start of training camp. And this is gonna
- 0:26Speaker 1: be a fun podcast series that we do every single
- 0:29Speaker 1: year where Adam and I do a draft of NFC
- 0:32Speaker 1: East only players. It's sort of like a fantasy style draft,
- 0:37Speaker 1: except we also do offensive lineman and we do defense
- 0:40Speaker 1: as well. Some some leagues don't do defense or just offense,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and it's but it's not just for fantasy. We're trying
- 0:46Speaker 1: to draft what we think is the best overall offense
- 0:50Speaker 1: and defense. So in this podcast we'll do offense. The
- 0:53Speaker 1: next podcast will do defense and as well as do Adam.
- 0:57Speaker 1: We take a look back right first on how we
- 1:00Speaker 1: did last year and oh okay, drafted and the first
- 1:04Speaker 1: time I have done this visually, and I have already
- 1:09Speaker 1: looked through our draft from last year of the offense
- 1:11Speaker 1: and then determined that you beat me, your team beat mine.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And when we look I'll show you why in a
- 1:17Speaker 1: second there were some clear advantages that your team had overmine.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So why don't I go to it? Now you can
- 1:24Speaker 1: see that right, Yes, Okay, So what I did was
- 1:29Speaker 1: I put all of our picks at each position and
- 1:32Speaker 1: then try to total up who won and in a
- 1:33Speaker 1: one on one style.
- 1:34Speaker 2: So I'm looking at it right now.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Wow, okay, Yeah, So I one quarterback kind of easily
- 1:41Speaker 1: because I had Jalen Hurts and you had Jaden Daniels
- 1:43Speaker 1: and Jayden not only had a rough season but also injured,
- 1:46Speaker 1: so nothing you could do about that. As we moved
- 1:50Speaker 1: to running back, you clearly kicked my ass. I don't
- 1:55Speaker 1: know what I was thinking, And I think this is
- 1:59Speaker 1: going to be because this year, Adam, I feel like
- 2:03Speaker 1: the NFC East is so much deeper, especially on offense,
- 2:06Speaker 1: a lot of positions that we won't be in a
- 2:08Speaker 1: situation where when you take a guy like you did
- 2:11Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley last year, I really had no I felt
- 2:15Speaker 1: like I had no good options, so I went with
- 2:17Speaker 1: a rookie. Right, it's camp Scataboo. Now. The big thing
- 2:20Speaker 1: was I discounted what kind of bounce back year that
- 2:23Speaker 1: Javonte Williams would have.
- 2:25Speaker 2: The hell, I was just going to bring that up.
- 2:26Speaker 2: How would you possibly know? Because he had before he
- 2:31Speaker 2: had a multi liguament knee injury. He looked like he
- 2:33Speaker 2: was going to be a stud and then he was
- 2:35Speaker 2: never the same. Tean Payton moved on from him right,
- 2:38Speaker 2: and then would you know that he starts being mister
- 2:40Speaker 2: Golin carry. He just was. That's part of why Jayden
- 2:43Speaker 2: Blue didn't play. Miles Sanders was. I mean, he's he's
- 2:46Speaker 2: pretty much done anyway, but yeah, he was. Javonti Wells
- 2:50Speaker 2: is a great story. Now here's the thing about Scatibo
- 2:53Speaker 2: m scattaboo had he not gotten hurt and that was
- 2:57Speaker 2: a bad injury, broken leg, and he was That was
- 3:01Speaker 2: a tough one.
- 3:02Speaker 1: He was on a roll.
- 3:03Speaker 2: He crushed the Eagles at one game, absolutely crushed him.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Barkley had a tremendous fall off. Wasn't really his fault.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It was the offensive line's fault. And honestly, remember you
- 3:14Speaker 2: had bad luck with the Milake neighbors. There's this a
- 3:16Speaker 2: cl and he had a meniscus. Prepare debo was just okay,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you know, I'm looking at your team, got her.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Now here's a here. I scratched my head at wide
- 3:26Speaker 1: receiver because I went back and looked to make sure
- 3:30Speaker 1: this guy was on the team when we did it.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Because on defense, as we get to the next pod,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you had Micah Parsons. He obviously got traded weight right
- 3:38Speaker 1: before the season opener, so that you can't control. But
- 3:42Speaker 1: there was a player that we did not pick, and
- 3:46Speaker 1: really it's on me because you did better wide receiver
- 3:49Speaker 1: than I did. But we did not pick who had
- 3:51Speaker 1: an unbelievable year that we probably should have seen coming
- 3:54Speaker 1: but me, especially because you had better wide receivers. But
- 3:58Speaker 1: as we look here in the screen shows, I had
- 4:00Speaker 1: A J. Brown, Elik Neighbors and Deebo Samuel Oh, you
- 4:03Speaker 1: had CD Lambdavante Smith. How did we miss on George Pickens?
- 4:08Speaker 2: That's bad? Yeah, I don't remember what the scenario was. Like, well,
- 4:14Speaker 2: let's put it this way, right, no question picking should
- 4:18Speaker 2: have gone over Debo. But AJ Brown, you can make
- 4:20Speaker 2: the case Brown over Pickens. Sure, I mean that that's
- 4:25Speaker 2: at least a debatable thing going into it. Lamb is
- 4:27Speaker 2: a is a He's just a production monger. He's just incredible,
- 4:31Speaker 2: Like he's just put up massive numbers neighbors towards a
- 4:35Speaker 2: cl and Davante was Davante's excellent, He's great. You know
- 4:40Speaker 2: his role's going to grow. We didn't know that that
- 4:42Speaker 2: Aj wouldn't be back. It's time we drafted. Yeah, we
- 4:45Speaker 2: we clearly screwed that up.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I was gonna say the first four you
- 4:48Speaker 1: can make a pretty good argument for. But the last
- 4:50Speaker 1: two Terry McLaurin, Deebo, Samuel although you got to remember,
- 4:53Speaker 1: it's not like Pickens was like this multi year thousand
- 4:56Speaker 1: yard res here, but you knew he had that ability,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and I guess we just went on the known over
- 5:01Speaker 1: the unknown by taking Deebo and mclach I really screwed
- 5:05Speaker 1: the pooch taking.
- 5:06Speaker 2: For the majority issue. You know, you have that like
- 5:08Speaker 2: like last year, as great of the seasons he had,
- 5:11Speaker 2: he had games where he drifted. Why do you think
- 5:13Speaker 2: that the Cowboys did something they never do. They came
- 5:17Speaker 2: out and said, we've told George we're not gonna we're
- 5:20Speaker 2: not going to negotiate extension. Instead of doing with Jerry
- 5:22Speaker 2: Jones always does, he lets it linger linger Linger, then
- 5:26Speaker 2: backs in overpays. Well, they decide they're not going to
- 5:30Speaker 2: do They're not even to negotiate with him. So after
- 5:32Speaker 2: the season if they want him back at all, right,
- 5:34Speaker 2: that's not what they do. But that tells you all
- 5:36Speaker 2: you need to know they don't trust him.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Sure, Sure, So to recap receiver, you won on Lamb
- 5:42Speaker 1: over Brown, you won on DeVante Smith over neighbors. Obviously
- 5:45Speaker 1: neighbors got to hurt. And then from a statistical standpoint,
- 5:49Speaker 1: Deebo Samuel had better year than McLaurin because he played
- 5:52Speaker 1: more games than McLaurin. So I win on that. Although
- 5:55Speaker 1: it feels like a what do they call like a
- 5:57Speaker 1: pyrrhic victory, I don't know. I just felt it feels
- 5:59Speaker 1: like a dirty wind of debot over McLaurin.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You know, it's so funny real quick. I'm looking at
- 6:05Speaker 2: because you put on the excel while whoever is in
- 6:09Speaker 2: bold is who won. Yeah, what's comical about Jurgens versus Bebe.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Jurgens made the pro ball BB didn't.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But I still like I couldn't do it at him, Like,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I couldn't know, my guy.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I don't remember. I mean, Cam, sorry, you should have
- 6:27Speaker 2: been a pro baller. I'm trying to be nice about it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I've never seen anything like that. He was definitely though
- 6:32Speaker 2: voted in to start right as a starter. Was that
- 6:35Speaker 2: the case was?
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think he was. Yeah, that's amazingly.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's insanity.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So tight end was probably the closest one. And originally,
- 6:43Speaker 1: without looking at anything, I was going to give it
- 6:45Speaker 1: to god Her because I knew he had the eleven touchdowns.
- 6:48Speaker 1: But then when I went and researched it, Ferguson actually
- 6:50Speaker 1: had twenty more catches and more yards as well, So
- 6:54Speaker 1: and then I looked at it from a fantasy football
- 6:56Speaker 1: expected and he had like a few more points. So
- 6:58Speaker 1: I gave it to Ferguson. Really could have been either
- 7:01Speaker 1: they're both really good. And uh yeah, offensive line a
- 7:06Speaker 1: great job with you on getting tunsled. I mean, he
- 7:09Speaker 1: really did have a bounce back year. Mylotta did not
- 7:11Speaker 1: have her as a mile a lotta ish year for
- 7:15Speaker 1: the Eagles. Some regression from the offensive line in general. Obviously,
- 7:20Speaker 1: you had Landon Dickerson, who could have predicted how beat
- 7:22Speaker 1: up and injured he'd be. Tyler Smith of the Cowboys
- 7:25Speaker 1: I had he had a really good.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Year, dude, he is You got to remember this guy.
- 7:31Speaker 2: There were a lot of concerns with him that he
- 7:33Speaker 2: was not going to play left tackle at this level.
- 7:34Speaker 2: He's two row out of Tulsa. Yep, they'd moved in
- 7:37Speaker 2: a guard a position and played before. They were like
- 7:41Speaker 2: it because it's not like they had Jeff Stalin is
- 7:44Speaker 2: offensive line coach, Like, yeah, there was major concerns and
- 7:47Speaker 2: he everyone who thought he couldn't play what was wrong,
- 7:50Speaker 2: Like this is a this is like an all time
- 7:52Speaker 2: position change that everyone was fulled like obviously Dallas on
- 7:56Speaker 2: Dallas is not gonna do unless they think he can
- 7:58Speaker 2: do it. It was just an amazing Then it's funny.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I remember, I don't know what did we draft. By
- 8:06Speaker 2: the way, do you remember when we drafted?
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yeah, we did this show earlier. I did check. We
- 8:10Speaker 1: did this at the end of May last year. So
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm glad we waited this year longer because of you know,
- 8:15Speaker 1: teams are adding on later, they're making trades later.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Ochs are over. But what happened was with Connolly, I
- 8:21Speaker 2: got a very good tip that not only would he
- 8:24Speaker 2: start like he had a great training camp, so they're
- 8:26Speaker 2: very optimistic.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but I.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Don't know why I took him over what you obviously
- 8:32Speaker 2: took lane. So I had to take a right tackle.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yes, and this is the point I'm making, Like this
- 8:36Speaker 1: year when we were about to do our offensive draft,
- 8:39Speaker 1: there were times in the last two years where you
- 8:41Speaker 1: and I had to jump on a player at a
- 8:43Speaker 1: position very early, like Jason Kelsey had center right and
- 8:47Speaker 1: a couple of years ago when we started this thing,
- 8:49Speaker 1: because there was just no rival at that position in
- 8:53Speaker 1: the division. That's how bad the division was and how
- 8:55Speaker 1: good the Eagles were. When when we when we do
- 8:59Speaker 1: our picks for offense year, I'm gonna feel comfortable not
- 9:03Speaker 1: necessarily getting a certain guy at a position, because I
- 9:06Speaker 1: feel like there'll be another guy that I will be
- 9:09Speaker 1: comfortable with. But you know, last year, I didn't know
- 9:12Speaker 1: how Josh Connor. I expected him to be good. I
- 9:14Speaker 1: knew it was a first round pick, but I wanted
- 9:15Speaker 1: to get Lane early because the rest of the division
- 9:18Speaker 1: I felt was but very uncertain on the right tackles.
- 9:22Speaker 2: It was, but I but it's not like when we drafted,
- 9:24Speaker 2: we had we had any idea Connory would turn out
- 9:27Speaker 2: to be as good because he'd remember he never played
- 9:28Speaker 2: right tackle before. Yeah, that was like, was I going
- 9:32Speaker 2: to take Germaine Iluminor, who's been a nice journeyman offensive lineman,
- 9:35Speaker 2: nice story, just got a new deal, good for him. No,
- 9:38Speaker 2: I just took a because we're drafting just we have
- 9:41Speaker 2: to make Claire, this is just for the season. We're
- 9:42Speaker 2: not just not a dynasty team. So we're trying to
- 9:44Speaker 2: win a super Bowl. We're trying to put the get.
- 9:47Speaker 2: We're trying to put together the best starting lineup, and
- 9:50Speaker 2: that's what this is about.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Right at right guard, I listened. I didn't go I
- 9:54Speaker 1: didn't go searching for underlying data. Okay, I didn't go
- 9:57Speaker 1: to like deep into the analytics rabbit hole. Cosme played
- 10:00Speaker 1: well in his comeback from the ACL injury. Because both
- 10:03Speaker 1: of the teams, Tyler Booker with the rookie, both the
- 10:05Speaker 1: Cowboys and the Commanders had really good run games last year.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I believe they were both top five run games. So
- 10:12Speaker 1: right guard run game, you know past pro is important,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but you also get center help. So I just I
- 10:17Speaker 1: gave it a tie because they're both pretty good at
- 10:19Speaker 1: what they do.
- 10:21Speaker 2: The only thing. The only thing is with guard, it's
- 10:27Speaker 2: it's not like we're drafting. Okay, you're gonna have to
- 10:29Speaker 2: draft a right corner to the left corner.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Correct.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It's similar to me in guard. I understand it's not
- 10:35Speaker 2: easy to move from left guard to right cord, right
- 10:37Speaker 2: guard to left guard. But I'm just drafting the best guard.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm not worrying about Wather's left guard.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fine, that's fine. So I but I did
- 10:43Speaker 1: give that a tie and because of that, and honestly,
- 10:46Speaker 1: you know, Connor Ly did play well, but Lane Johnson
- 10:48Speaker 1: being hurt is the reason why Connor Lee Yeah won that.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Uh so you got to win their six to four.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Your team beat my team. I mean, I think these
- 10:56Speaker 1: are pretty fair evaluations of who won and who didn't.
- 10:58Speaker 1: From an individual basis.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I'll be honest with you, I'd have to look at
- 11:02Speaker 2: Scattaboo's stat numbers before he got hurt. Yeah, really good
- 11:07Speaker 2: rookie season. Now his problem is lack of juice.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he was having a good year. I just couldn't
- 11:15Speaker 1: with with the lack of games played.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I couldn't. Yeah, you couldn't do it, faith say he was.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Better than Barkley. Even a down here for Barkley was
- 11:22Speaker 1: still pretty good. Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Well it's when you say down, it's it's the number.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Drop is just obviously it was going to be big anyway.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Help it was the question. But so, yeah, you gave
- 11:32Speaker 2: me six to four. Oh is that say six? Yeah?
- 11:35Speaker 2: Six six four?
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you won, So with that being said, we're going
- 11:40Speaker 1: to get into now the East NFC East our offensive draft,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and I decided that I was going to do it
- 11:50Speaker 1: to decide who gets to pick with a virtual coin flipper. Okay,
- 11:56Speaker 1: here we are.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I'm going to call it right heads, you're gonna.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Call ahead, so I'll flip again.
- 12:04Speaker 2: And that is tails hilarious.

- 13:25Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Nice, Yeah, very cool. I thought we have for people
- 13:28Speaker 1: watching on YouTube. I thought that they would have some
- 13:30Speaker 1: fun with this, all right. So again, like in the
- 13:32Speaker 1: past years, I would be drafting. I think like Jason
- 13:36Speaker 1: Kelcey if it was if you're still playing, or Leian Johnson.
- 13:38Speaker 1: But I kind of feel comfortable with offensive line depth
- 13:43Speaker 1: and center depth. I'm just gonna go best player available here.
- 13:47Speaker 1: In my opinion, I even feel comfortable with a couple
- 13:49Speaker 1: of the running backs and qbs. So in round one,
- 13:53Speaker 1: pick one, I'm gonna take Ceedee.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Lamb oh boy. Okay, okay over a quarterback. Interesting, okay,
- 14:01Speaker 2: but you can't get wrong. He's if you're looking for production.
- 14:04Speaker 2: He said, he beats man coverage very well, very unerrating aspect.
- 14:08Speaker 2: He's fine against his own He's just that nobody puts
- 14:11Speaker 2: up numbers like he does, correct correct, very like.
- 14:18Speaker 1: The thing about Pickens is and I know it's a
- 14:20Speaker 1: contract year for him, so it'll probably be even more motivated,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and he's so explosive. I just wanted to go with,
- 14:26Speaker 1: like it's your number one. Pickens also has some like
- 14:29Speaker 1: you know, there's always some characters. There's games where people
- 14:32Speaker 1: think he gives I just wanted to go with the
- 14:34Speaker 1: guy I know is going to get me one hundred
- 14:36Speaker 1: and thirty catches of twelve hundred yards, you know, double
- 14:39Speaker 1: digit touchdowns and is basically undefendable except when he plays
- 14:42Speaker 1: the Eagles and drops a bunch of passes.
- 14:44Speaker 2: That when that game was crazy at Philly, he had
- 14:46Speaker 2: four or five drops. It was insane or they would
- 14:49Speaker 2: have probably won that game. I killed them in that game.
- 14:53Speaker 2: So all right, my pick in one oh two. It's quarterback.
- 14:57Speaker 2: It's the most important position, and a professional sports goalie
- 15:00Speaker 2: probably second. Okay, it's hurts for Prescott to me. Jackson
- 15:07Speaker 2: darts as an athlete who needs to be more consistent.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Jane Daniels needs to continue to fill out that body.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Elite is a rookie took a step back last season.
- 15:17Speaker 2: It's because of injury mostly and they needed to help
- 15:19Speaker 2: him with their past target group. So it's down a
- 15:21Speaker 2: Hurts in Prescott. I'm trying to win a super Bowl
- 15:24Speaker 2: with the team that I draft this year. MS optimistic
- 15:30Speaker 2: as I am, and I may be the minority that
- 15:32Speaker 2: Hurts is going to get this offense. I know what
- 15:33Speaker 2: I'm getting from Dak Okay. I know he's got a
- 15:36Speaker 2: worst injury history that's well documented. He's older, but he
- 15:40Speaker 2: puts up numbers year two with Brian Schottenheimer shot, He's
- 15:43Speaker 2: an aggressive play caller. I'm feeling good about this. I'm
- 15:46Speaker 2: taking Dak. I get it.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Like you said, most important position, Dak Prescott one O two.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So then you are going to pick again at one
- 15:57Speaker 1: three and fill out your roster.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Boy, oh boy, oh boy. Then see this is this
- 16:02Speaker 2: is where it gets hard. This is where it gets
- 16:05Speaker 2: hard because the drop off at receiver of obviously is
- 16:12Speaker 2: going to be significant because nobody's close as productive as
- 16:15Speaker 2: Cde Lamb sure very high on DeVante Smith to be
- 16:20Speaker 2: that the Eagles number one pass target I'm looking over
- 16:23Speaker 2: the other positions on the offensive line because of Lane.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Lane's age and what happened last year with him and
- 16:34Speaker 2: the left tackle group is fascinating. Of look at that
- 16:37Speaker 2: tight end as much as it's deep anyway, you don't
- 16:39Speaker 2: need to do anything here, which Parclay are we going
- 16:42Speaker 2: to get? You know, he's twenty nine now, which he
- 16:45Speaker 2: turned in February. So to me, folks, I'm going with
- 16:49Speaker 2: the best player available. It's close to me. It's close
- 16:53Speaker 2: for me. Pickens, you outline it. You and I see
- 16:56Speaker 2: him the same way. If I just knew he could
- 16:58Speaker 2: give me seventeen consistent games, it's not even close of
- 17:00Speaker 2: taking him. I don't trust him. I know what happened
- 17:02Speaker 2: in Pittsburgh very well. Talking to folks there. They couldn't
- 17:06Speaker 2: wait till he was gone. They could, They just couldn't
- 17:08Speaker 2: trust him. Didn't know what they were getting. I could
- 17:10Speaker 2: imagine whate to be like to coach him. I have
- 17:11Speaker 2: no idea because he's super gifted. But I'm taking the
- 17:15Speaker 2: guy who's been the most consistent player out of all
- 17:19Speaker 2: the players available every position that's left. It's Davante Smith.
- 17:24Speaker 2: He is he is. Look, I'm could have I gone
- 17:28Speaker 2: for a left tackle, sure, sure, which is more valuable position,
- 17:33Speaker 2: But the drop off after Davante Smith because of Pickens
- 17:39Speaker 2: inconsistency too much for me. I know what I'm getting
- 17:42Speaker 2: from Davante. Hey, the man, I'm doing it. I'm taking
- 17:46Speaker 2: him here.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I like it. I got no beef with it. I
- 17:50Speaker 1: think he's gonna have a huge year from a target standpoint.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You know he's gonna have a huge year from a
- 17:54Speaker 1: target standpoint, So I think it makes a lot of sense.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Now I'm going to strategize a little bit year as
- 18:00Speaker 1: I finished off the second round and took Dak Prescott.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So you know, I'm I'm gonna take Jalen Hurts at
- 18:07Speaker 1: some point because you're not gonna take a second quarter. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 1: So I don't have to go chase Hurts right now,
- 18:14Speaker 1: And I'm going to do something that you're you did
- 18:17Speaker 1: with DeVante Smith, which is sort of bank on the
- 18:21Speaker 1: offense at least being better than last year and players improving.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It may not be exactly what we wanted to be,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but I am still thinking, although I like the running
- 18:32Speaker 1: back depth better, that it's still Barkley by more than
- 18:38Speaker 1: Javonte Williams. Because I would like to see Javonte Williams
- 18:41Speaker 1: try to do that back to back years. He might be,
- 18:44Speaker 1: he might be, but I know what I'm getting with Saquon,
- 18:47Speaker 1: and I just don't like the depth after Barkley and
- 18:49Speaker 1: Williams anyway.
- 18:52Speaker 2: After Barclay, there's such a disparity. You're absolutely right, it's
- 18:55Speaker 2: but it's the value of the position. Sure, so we moved,
- 19:00Speaker 2: but you're you're he'll be. He's gonna be better last year
- 19:02Speaker 2: and their line will be healthier. Right at two at two?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Actually three? Oh wait, you picked two players here, right,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I think again?
- 19:11Speaker 1: So that was one o four. Sorry, that was two four.
- 19:14Speaker 1: We did two oh three, two four. Now it's three
- 19:17Speaker 1: oh five. I am going to I think I have
- 19:21Speaker 1: to address the offensive line here because I like the
- 19:24Speaker 1: wide receiver depth like some tight ends. So I am
- 19:28Speaker 1: going to take a guy that we already talked about
- 19:33Speaker 1: and how special he's already proven to be after a
- 19:36Speaker 1: four years, a couple of years, despite the question marks
- 19:39Speaker 1: about him. I'm going for sure things here at him.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I'm taking the left guard Tyler Smith.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Wow, Tyler Smith. I mean he's a stud. He's just yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Look, I mean this was this was ordinarily we'd be
- 19:49Speaker 1: like Lane Johnson, Lane Johns, but he was hurt a
- 19:52Speaker 1: lot last year and he's getting older, and you know,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I just don't know right now, and I think there
- 19:57Speaker 1: are some other decent enough right tackles. I'll be comfortable
- 19:59Speaker 1: without it.
- 20:00Speaker 2: But well, I think I played my board right here
- 20:04Speaker 2: because there's no way in how you're taking you would
- 20:06Speaker 2: have taken pickens because you're ready at CD they kind
- 20:10Speaker 2: of this is in fantasy I you never want to
- 20:13Speaker 2: have two receivers from the same team. You just don't
- 20:15Speaker 2: because it's very rare that both are great in the
- 20:17Speaker 2: same year. It happens, but it doesn't happen a lot. Yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 2: it would be disparity. Usually sometimes it's smaller. Sometimes it's
- 20:23Speaker 2: a way it's bigger, like in Seattle. But uh, right
- 20:27Speaker 2: here with what my my fourth round? Here my fourth first.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Pick the end of the third round. This is three oh.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Six six, Okay, Okay, I'm gonna go with pickings here,
- 20:36Speaker 2: contract here, you said it. He's got everything to play for,
- 20:39Speaker 2: he's gonna be motivated, he's he puts, he's gonna he's
- 20:43Speaker 2: unbelievably gifted. One of the most gifted receivers in the
- 20:45Speaker 2: National Football League. Sure is George Pickens, So I'm going
- 20:50Speaker 2: with him.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Okay, So that brings us to your first pick in
- 20:53Speaker 1: the fourth round for oh seven, you're gonna uh, You're
- 20:56Speaker 1: gonna like, you know, be like the Eagles here and
- 20:59Speaker 1: start to address your offensive trenches or what.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm going with the best left tackle in
- 21:05Speaker 2: this division. That's it could have been Andrew Thomas, but
- 21:09Speaker 2: he just can't stay on the field enough. My Lotta
- 21:12Speaker 2: is a good player. Jordan Mylott has been an unbelievable
- 21:14Speaker 2: story development, but he's not in Laramie Tunsel's class.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That's correct.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Texans foolish to trade him. For the life of me,
- 21:21Speaker 2: I'll never understand that they it is good of a
- 21:26Speaker 2: roster as they've put together. They're not. They've never been
- 21:29Speaker 2: good enough on the offensive line and they never will
- 21:31Speaker 2: be because they don't. They don't get it. That's why
- 21:32Speaker 2: they're not gonna win a Super Bowl. I'm going with
- 21:35Speaker 2: Laramie Tunsel here. He's an absolute stud.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Good pick. All right, he served you well last year
- 21:40Speaker 1: he won that category by having him. All Right, I
- 21:46Speaker 1: am going to now shift. I was thinking about doing
- 21:50Speaker 1: offensive line again, but now you've got Pickens and now
- 21:54Speaker 1: you've got DeVante Smith, and I could wait on receiver,
- 21:59Speaker 1: although you could draft the third receiver and really screw me. Yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you could certainly play I mean that's what we've been
- 22:05Speaker 1: doing eleven personnel. So you kind of forced my hand
- 22:08Speaker 1: to go with a receiver. And now I have to
- 22:10Speaker 1: figure out do I want an aging Terry McLaurin. Do
- 22:13Speaker 1: I want a Milik neighbors who may miss the first
- 22:16Speaker 1: few weeks of the season. Do I want Slate new Sporadic?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Do I want Lemon or Adam? Do I want to
- 22:24Speaker 1: play twelve personnel because I don't like the options here
- 22:27Speaker 1: that you're giving me. At wide receiver. That is something
- 22:31Speaker 1: I could do. I could go two receivers and two
- 22:33Speaker 1: tight ends if I want to. I'm gonna think about
- 22:37Speaker 1: this one. I'm what I'm gonna do, though, is going
- 22:41Speaker 1: to figure that McLaurin is going to bounce back from
- 22:44Speaker 1: last year. He's generally been a thousand yard receiver every
- 22:48Speaker 1: year until last year. Remember last year he held out
- 22:51Speaker 1: or held in, then held out, and then it took
- 22:54Speaker 1: a while and then you know, for aging guys like that,
- 22:56Speaker 1: sometimes when you don't get all your spring and training
- 22:59Speaker 1: camp practice. This is in you get hurt, and that's
- 23:01Speaker 1: what happened. So I'm going to bank on a bounce
- 23:04Speaker 1: back for him because I really I don't like what
- 23:07Speaker 1: we got at wide receiver left. So I'm going Terry
- 23:10Speaker 1: mcclaurin to finish out the fourth round and then to
- 23:14Speaker 1: start the fifth round. I'm still trying to get the
- 23:17Speaker 1: best players available here. I'm gonna go Lane Johnson and
- 23:20Speaker 1: right tackle. I think that this is a big gamble
- 23:24Speaker 1: for me. But if he stays healthy, I win the
- 23:26Speaker 1: category easily in my opinion. If he doesn't stay healthy,
- 23:29Speaker 1: then it's anybody's game from there.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Okay, taking Lane Johnson, all right, I'm up for two.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yep, you are up for two.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Boy. I go wait on a running back because you
- 23:47Speaker 2: want with Barkley.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Right now, you need running back, tight end, a third receiver,
- 23:56Speaker 1: and I want that if you want that. Yeah, a
- 24:01Speaker 1: right tackle. You have no guards and no center.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Mm hmm, all right, I'm gonna go with Josh Connelly,
- 24:08Speaker 2: who was elite as a rookie right tackle. Yeah, there's
- 24:12Speaker 2: my right tackle. If you didn't take Lane, I was
- 24:15Speaker 2: probably leaning towards him. I just feel like this will
- 24:20Speaker 2: be it, this will be his last great year.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 24:23Speaker 2: It's just got feeling because you know, how could you
- 24:25Speaker 2: know it's someone who's in his mid thirties. But yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 2: feeling good about Lane bouncing back. But Josh Connelly, the
- 24:31Speaker 2: only one year was his rookie season. But he was
- 24:33Speaker 2: phenomenal as a rookie. And now my next pick I got,
- 24:38Speaker 2: I got my bookend tackles Tunsil and Connelly. I need
- 24:42Speaker 2: a guard or two. I need two guards the center.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I could wait. They're not great. Hmmm mm hmmmm. I'm
- 24:55Speaker 2: gonna do this, okay, because we because we don't know
- 25:01Speaker 2: when Neighbors is gonna come back. Uh huh oh, I'm
- 25:05Speaker 2: trying to talk myself out of something. Uh yeah, he
- 25:09Speaker 2: took McLaurin pickings and Lamb are gone. You know what, Actually,
- 25:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna take as my third receiver. I'm gonna take
- 25:20Speaker 2: Neighbors and it's okay, he's gonna be my three great
- 25:23Speaker 2: give me still, give me a thousand yards. I mean
- 25:25Speaker 2: it's a landslide. See if you only misses two or three.
- 25:29Speaker 2: You know he had the issues. He had a follow
- 25:31Speaker 2: up procedure. Yeah, and that that's why there's a question,
- 25:34Speaker 2: major question whether he's gonna be available early in the season.
- 25:36Speaker 2: So sorry, yeah, nine hundred thousand years, I'll be fine,
- 25:42Speaker 2: all right.
- 25:42Speaker 1: So you end the fifth round with Josh Connelly as
- 25:45Speaker 1: your right tackle. You start the sixth round of Milak
- 25:47Speaker 1: Neighbors as your third wide receiver, and that's a man.
- 25:50Speaker 1: You got Davonte Smith, George Pickens and Milak Neighbors. That's
- 25:52Speaker 1: that's gonna be tough for me when we you know,
- 25:55Speaker 1: a year from now. I'm thinking that's gonna be tough
- 25:57Speaker 1: for me to win that category. But I just got
- 25:59Speaker 1: to get stronger in other categories. So what I'm gonna
- 26:02Speaker 1: do is I'm going to take and hope he stays healthy.
- 26:06Speaker 1: You kind of like with Neighbors, right, just upside Uh,
- 26:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna take my left tackle and go with Andrew
- 26:10Speaker 1: Howard here from the Giants. I'm sorry, Andrew Howard were
- 26:15Speaker 1: actually big Eagles fan by the way. Yeah, Andrew Thomas
- 26:22Speaker 1: will be my left tackle, So I kind of like
- 26:25Speaker 1: that I have the two best tackles in the division.
- 26:28Speaker 1: As long as you're healthy and Thomas and mean, that
- 26:30Speaker 1: could be huge for me. So that will end Round
- 26:33Speaker 1: six and I will start Round seven with.
- 26:38Speaker 2: HM.
- 26:39Speaker 1: This one's tough. But you know, I'm sort of caught
- 26:45Speaker 1: between tight ends here. I won on Ferguson over got her,
- 26:49Speaker 1: but got Her had a lot of touchdowns. And I
- 26:51Speaker 1: think this offense is good for the Eagles will be
- 26:52Speaker 1: more more tight end centric this year, more space centric.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna to go. I can't have this many cowboys.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna go got It as my tight end.
- 27:07Speaker 2: I get it.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't. I'm just gonna go. I think I
- 27:11Speaker 1: think this is gonna wind up being a very questionable
- 27:13Speaker 1: pick for me. Yeah, if I'm being honest here, But
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm just gonna do it, all right.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I am up for two Yep. I need a guard,
- 27:23Speaker 2: or actually I need two guards.
- 27:24Speaker 1: You need to Yeah, I'm gonna go with a running
- 27:29Speaker 1: back and a tight end yep.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. Later I'm gonna go with Tyler Booker nice
- 27:38Speaker 2: and then Sam Cosmy.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Oh going back to back guards.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well I needed it because running back. You don't
- 27:46Speaker 2: need a running back tight end. There are plenty left
- 27:49Speaker 2: mm hmm. He's not worried about it. There there's there's
- 27:53Speaker 2: We also need a center.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Center, yeah, both of us, both of us need to
- 28:00Speaker 1: which is you did that? Okay, so you went Booker
- 28:04Speaker 1: and cos me. Look, I'm just gonna grab my center
- 28:08Speaker 1: right now, and I am again banking on a bounce back.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Jurgons. I know BB had the
- 28:15Speaker 1: better year last year. Jurgons went healthier, is the better player.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Let's just hope for Eagles fans sake that he continues
- 28:24Speaker 1: to be or gets back to being that guy. So
- 28:27Speaker 1: I go with Cam Jurgens to end the eighth round.
- 28:31Speaker 2: By the way, it would be funny if he bounces
- 28:32Speaker 2: back like you're hoping and he has a great year
- 28:34Speaker 2: and he doesn't make the Pro Bawl, you go, wait
- 28:35Speaker 2: a minute, it was last year. Let's be honest. He struggled,
- 28:39Speaker 2: he could, he could barely bend down. He was hurt.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Wasn't because he lost his his skill. He was hurt
- 28:45Speaker 2: then he if you said you're backing on he bounces back,
- 28:47Speaker 2: looks like the Cam Durggons of all and he doesn't
- 28:48Speaker 2: make the player, It doesn't make the Pro Bowl. That's
- 28:50Speaker 2: the way it works anyway.
- 28:51Speaker 1: That is correct? All right? With my next pick at him,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna get a little bit. I'm gonna get a
- 28:58Speaker 1: little bit fancy, all right, because I still need a
- 29:01Speaker 1: number three.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Receiver, know where you go.
- 29:04Speaker 1: My choice is either mckhai lemon, the rookie who I
- 29:07Speaker 1: just don't know what to expect. Or my choice could
- 29:11Speaker 1: be Darius Slayton. It could be I don't know at
- 29:16Speaker 1: this point, you know, like Dontavian Wicks. But I'm not
- 29:19Speaker 1: going to do that. I'm actually I'm going to take
- 29:22Speaker 1: Ferguson and team him with Goddard and give myself twelve personnel.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yeah that's pretty good. Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just gonna I just feel like Ferguson is
- 29:31Speaker 1: a more sure thing to get seven to eight hundred
- 29:33Speaker 1: yards and any of these other receivers left. So I
- 29:37Speaker 1: might have the slow, deliberate offense, but I think it's
- 29:40Speaker 1: going to.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Be the case.
- 29:42Speaker 1: All right, all right, seventeen, so you're up for nine,
- 29:46Speaker 1: eighteen and ten nineteen.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Okay, So Javonta Williams, I just don't see him repeating
- 29:56Speaker 2: the success he'll get. He's going to get the goal
- 29:59Speaker 2: line touches again, that's for sure. Sure, but his yards
- 30:04Speaker 2: per carry number was so high. He's just something that
- 30:06Speaker 2: explosive their line kicked ass. It helps. You've got you're
- 30:10Speaker 2: able to spread people out. You've got you've got ferguson
- 30:14Speaker 2: the two excellent receivers floor floor nois not bad. Number
- 30:17Speaker 2: three NFL receiver. But in my situation, I'm moving away
- 30:22Speaker 2: from Dallas. I need a running back. Kim Scataboo coming
- 30:26Speaker 2: back from his massive injury. But he's healthy. So I
- 30:29Speaker 2: was told the Super Bowl he'll be fine for training
- 30:31Speaker 2: camp and all everything I've heard has been good. He's versatile.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I'll take him here.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Oh nice, okay, there good? Yeah, So you are you
- 30:41Speaker 1: are going to take Kim Scantaboo all.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Right, yep, yep over Tomante Williams. It's a little cauestionable,
- 30:47Speaker 2: but I'm this Gervonti Willams is not coming back from
- 30:49Speaker 2: an injury. And then after that, take my tight end,
- 30:54Speaker 2: Isaiah Likely, who's brought in because obviously the head coach
- 30:59Speaker 2: made the call. All he coached him. John hob John
- 31:03Speaker 2: Harble has significant saying personnel gets one of his, gets
- 31:08Speaker 2: one of his guys here, they're gonna play plenty of
- 31:10Speaker 2: twelve personnel. I say, Likely is that guy.
- 31:12Speaker 1: That's a good one, and yeah, familiar with the scheme.
- 31:15Speaker 1: It's funny. I thought you were almost talking yourself out
- 31:17Speaker 1: of taking camp scataboo when you said it was he's
- 31:20Speaker 1: not an explosive. The numbers were in.
- 31:22Speaker 2: A first of all. But oh no, he's gonna get
- 31:26Speaker 2: run it.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Like a Knick single, not a Nick singleton, a Kate
- 31:30Speaker 1: tron Allen or something some out of your hat there.
- 31:33Speaker 2: No, Okay, good job, all right, but dr Corey Krafsky
- 31:35Speaker 2: marrit Or Bill, Yes.
- 31:37Speaker 1: That's right, all right. So I get to finish off
- 31:39Speaker 1: my draft. I need a guard, uh and a quarterback,
- 31:42Speaker 1: so I am. I'm gonna go out on a limb
- 31:46Speaker 1: here at guard a little bit. I think this guy
- 31:49Speaker 1: is gonna wind up being a stud, and I just
- 31:51Speaker 1: don't want to go average, right. I don't want to
- 31:53Speaker 1: go Tyler Steen or or run and I want to
- 31:55Speaker 1: go Giants. First round pick Francis Mawi noah, because as
- 31:59Speaker 1: many stouts told me, they thought he would be an
- 32:01Speaker 1: absolute all pro if they moved him inside and played
- 32:05Speaker 1: him at guard. So we've seen offensive him have success
- 32:09Speaker 1: a year one. That's not hard for the plug him
- 32:12Speaker 1: in there, right, And then I'm gonna finish off my
- 32:15Speaker 1: draft with my quarterback, and that's gonna be Jalen Hurts.
- 32:19Speaker 1: So that my draft is finished, and now you have
- 32:21Speaker 1: to finish yours with your center.
- 32:24Speaker 2: That'll be Cooper not Don Beebe for the Dallas Cowboys.
- 32:28Speaker 2: All right, yeah, all.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Right, So let's recap it real quick. Your team, your
- 32:33Speaker 1: quarterback is Dak Prescott. Your running back is Camp Scaboo.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Your three wide receivers are Davante Smith, George Pickens, and
- 32:40Speaker 1: Milik Neighbors. Who boom, that's some firepower there, my.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Fini, that's insane. If Neighbors plays like twelve games or more.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Look out right, your tight ends Isaiah Likely and your
- 32:50Speaker 1: offensive line from left to right is Laramie Tunsel, Tyler Booker,
- 32:54Speaker 1: Cooper Bebe, Sam Cosmi, and Josh Connery. Good job, all right.
- 32:59Speaker 1: My team, mike back is Hurts, My running back is Saquon.
- 33:03Speaker 1: My twelve personnel firepower is Ceedee Lamb and Terry McLaurin,
- 33:07Speaker 1: with Goddard and Jake Ferguson as my two tight ends.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Pretty good, it's pretty good.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It's okay. I think you're gonna wind up winning the
- 33:15Speaker 1: playmaker category because you're I mean, Milik Neighbors compared to
- 33:20Speaker 1: like Jake Ferguson, come on, you know, as long as
- 33:22Speaker 1: he's healthy, he's gonna blow them waististically. But I do
- 33:25Speaker 1: love my offensive line with Andrew Thomas at left tackle,
- 33:28Speaker 1: Tyler Smith left guard, Cam Jurgen center, Francis Mauiinoa right guard,
- 33:32Speaker 1: and Lane Johnson at right town.
- 33:34Speaker 2: You have a lot of questions, injury questions. What you have?
- 33:38Speaker 2: It's you got two guys and Jurgens and Johnson are
- 33:40Speaker 2: coming off major problems with injury.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Oh four of my five guy Andrew Andrew Thomas, Hello, yeah, yeah, absolutely,
