- 0:30Speaker 3: fourth of December. Johannah Sudeleff is IKEA's market manager. Hi Johannah, Hello,
- 0:37Speaker 3: Hi mate.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Just before Christmas. It's going to be mental, isn't it.
- 0:42Speaker 4: It's going to be really cool. I can't wait. It's
- 0:44Speaker 4: super exciting. Have been super excited to announce the date.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Three months to go and then fourth of December we're
- 0:51Speaker 4: opening our doors at si Agia Sylvia Park as well
- 0:54Speaker 4: as the online shop for all kivs around the country.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I mean, look, it feels I want to come as
- 1:00Speaker 3: soon as possible, but the thought of having to battle
- 1:02Speaker 3: that traffic and the crowd fills me with trepidation. So
- 1:04Speaker 3: when do you reckon it's the best time to come?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Is it?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Kind of after Christmas?
- 1:08Speaker 3: When when things have calmed down for those of us
- 1:10Speaker 3: who want to avoid the crowd.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sure you will find a slot already earlier,
- 1:16Speaker 4: so hopefully, hopefully you'll find a good moment during the
- 1:20Speaker 4: days for example, so we will we will be sure
- 1:24Speaker 4: that we don't open on the opening day exactly on
- 1:28Speaker 4: a morning traffic, but a little bit after that. But
- 1:32Speaker 4: of course if you want to wait for a couple
- 1:34Speaker 4: more days, then you can start shopping via online. We
- 1:39Speaker 4: can either deliver it to your home, or you can
- 1:41Speaker 4: pick it up from a couple pickup points that mainfreight
- 1:45Speaker 4: is providing around the country, or you can also click
- 1:49Speaker 4: and collect it from the garage of the store very
- 1:52Speaker 4: convenient directly to your car.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Brilliant, Now have you got Is this going to be
- 1:56Speaker 3: a full like? Is everything going to be on offer
- 1:58Speaker 3: the full range?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yes?
- 2:01Speaker 4: So in IKEA we have a mandatory range reaching a
- 2:04Speaker 4: bit over seven thousand, and we are bringing all that
- 2:07Speaker 4: in to New Zealand directly to take with you home
- 2:11Speaker 4: today from Iksylvia Park or conveniently as you wish to
- 2:16Speaker 4: get them delivered to your house.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And have you got everything that you need to get going?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Because I think the other day you had about oh
- 2:21Speaker 3: I don't even think it was twenty percent of the
- 2:23Speaker 3: staff that.
- 2:23Speaker 4: You need no we're actually today already over two hundred
- 2:29Speaker 4: coworkers comments and the rest three hundred and twenty plus
- 2:34Speaker 4: will be soon joining us. Every week, it's going to
- 2:37Speaker 4: be very busy, so approximately thirty to eighty people joining
- 2:41Speaker 4: and onboarding themselves to what will be ahead of them.
- 2:45Speaker 2: What's your tip? What is the item we have to
- 2:48Speaker 2: all have?
- 2:50Speaker 4: Oh, that's a good question. There's plenty, of course, it's
- 2:55Speaker 4: plenty of plenty of course. But I personally I love
- 2:58Speaker 4: our packs wardrobe. It's so convenient, so stylish and can
- 3:03Speaker 4: be modified according to your own needs. But of course
- 3:06Speaker 4: there's multiple a different items. Like our textiles is super
- 3:10Speaker 4: durable and beautiful. So yeah, you just need to come
- 3:14Speaker 4: and see and you will notice it yourself. What will
- 3:17Speaker 4: be your favorite play?
- 3:18Speaker 2: I google the Pax wardrobe. That's a fantastic tip.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Actually great for Yeah, great, I can just see that
- 3:24Speaker 3: fitting in the house already.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I'll have to come.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Okay, now you guys had a bit of I mean
- 3:29Speaker 3: you'll be aware you hit the headlines a wee bit
- 3:31Speaker 3: with your consenting and stuff.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Would you get frustrated by that process?
- 3:37Speaker 4: We have been super happily helped with Auckland Console and
- 3:42Speaker 4: all the neighbors and our collaborative partners. We're super excited
- 3:47Speaker 4: that we now are on track on our opening and
- 3:52Speaker 4: can open the doors by end of December. This was
- 3:54Speaker 4: our aim that we can open before Christmas, and we
- 3:58Speaker 4: are way on the way. So that's of course very
- 4:01Speaker 4: good news, fantastic.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I don't know if you caught this.
- 4:04Speaker 3: We discussed this on the show yesterday, but there is
- 4:06Speaker 3: a little bit of a controversy out of Sweden where
- 4:10Speaker 3: the Swedish authorities have put together a canon of the
- 4:12Speaker 3: one hundred things that everyone has to know about Sweden.
- 4:15Speaker 3: And you'll be aware ike has made that list.
- 4:17Speaker 2: You know that.
- 4:19Speaker 4: I haven't heard about that, to be honest.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah, Ika made the list, Pippy long Stocking made the list.
- 4:24Speaker 3: No about Peace Prize made the list, but they left
- 4:26Speaker 3: Abba off the list of one hundred greatest Swedish things?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Is that as much I think that's a scandal. Do
- 4:31Speaker 2: you think that's a scandal.
- 4:33Speaker 4: That's brilliant if we if we even made it on
- 4:36Speaker 4: the list, So that's that's of course. It just tells
- 4:41Speaker 4: how excited people are about Ikea around the world.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Joanna, thank you very much. Joanna sidlerf is Ikes but
- 4:48Speaker 3: definitely not wasn't going to take the bait. I was
- 4:51Speaker 3: not going to take the bait and get involved in
- 4:53Speaker 3: a controversy around Abba anyway. Whatever I suppose, it's fair
- 4:58Speaker 3: enough people have got strong feelings on that one.
