- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Chef out.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's a brand new day, another day closer to the weekend.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hello thereon Welcome to Thursday Morning with Toby and Chilly
- 0:11Speaker 2: in the Morning on ninety seven point one WASCHFM. The
- 0:14Speaker 2: number is eight six six nine two seven forty three
- 0:17Speaker 2: sixty one. You're listening right now. Watch you call Chilly
- 0:20Speaker 2: and I and tell us why you're feeling good today.
- 0:22Speaker 2: There's something that's bringing you some joy. It's gotta be
- 0:25Speaker 2: first thing in the morning. There's nothing that's come along
- 0:28Speaker 2: so far to screw up your day. So why are
- 0:31Speaker 2: you feeling good?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Chili? How are you feeling today?
- 0:34Speaker 4: I'm feeling good and I'm feeling good because my son
- 0:38Speaker 4: has now memorized all the lines for his role in
- 0:43Speaker 4: Alice in Wonderland because they haven't been going to rehearsal
- 0:46Speaker 4: whenever there's any school closing or delay, even they can't
- 0:50Speaker 4: go to rehearse because they usually have rehearsals before school, right,
- 0:54Speaker 4: And so I've been working on his lines with him
- 0:56Speaker 4: so that when he does eventually get back, he'll be
- 0:58Speaker 4: off book, know, offscript.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yeah, rehearsal is important.
- 1:02Speaker 2: People, not just when you're learning the lines for your
- 1:05Speaker 2: school play, but in life rehearsal practice. I'm feeling good
- 1:10Speaker 2: today because I almost had a crisis moment this morning
- 1:13Speaker 2: before I came in, and I didn't.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I was just kind of in a rush.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And you know how I told you that for me now,
- 1:19Speaker 2: everything I have to do is methodical, like I have
- 1:22Speaker 2: to think through what I'm doing, because there's a lot
- 1:25Speaker 2: of things that could possibly go wrong if I don't right.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's just the way of managing this knee thing. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 2: one of the things I had to do this morning
- 1:34Speaker 2: involved me changing and cleaning up something with my pick line.
- 1:38Speaker 2: If you don't know what that is, it's something that
- 1:40Speaker 2: administers antibiotics all day into my body. I accidentally cut
- 1:46Speaker 2: the line to my antibiotic ball, which had more than
- 1:50Speaker 2: like half of it left in it. Fortunately, the line
- 1:54Speaker 2: that I cut was on the ball to the medicine
- 1:57Speaker 2: and I had another ball in the fridge, so I
- 2:00Speaker 2: was so I like lost it for a minute, thinking
- 2:04Speaker 2: that I cut the other line and that I had
- 2:06Speaker 2: to go to like the er or whatever and have
- 2:08Speaker 2: somebody fix it, because you know, you just don't want
- 2:10Speaker 2: that doing crazy things now. Anyway, It's little things like that,
- 2:14Speaker 2: knowing that you've planned in advance to have a backup
- 2:16Speaker 2: system just in case that came through for me today.
- 2:19Speaker 2: And so I'm feeling good about that. Thank you God, Amen,
- 2:23Speaker 2: why are you feeling good?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Hit us up? Let us know.

- 3:38Speaker 4: the weapon. Maryland State Police shut down six illegal car
- 3:43Speaker 4: rallies over the weekend across Prince George's County, including street
- 3:47Speaker 4: takeovers in Lanham, Beltsville, Capitol Heights, and Bladensburg. Fairfax County
- 3:53Speaker 4: Homeless Shelter is seeing a major surge in need as
- 3:57Speaker 4: the cold weather lingers and gonna get worse this weekend.
- 4:01Speaker 4: The Bailey's Crossroads Community Shelter, which typically serves about eighteen
- 4:06Speaker 4: people a day, has housed nearly one.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Hundred since we got that snowstorm.
- 4:11Speaker 7: And walin Hub ranked San Francisco as the best US

- 5:10Speaker 2: of February.
- 5:12Speaker 3: We wanted to talk about you for a second.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It's our morning mindset and we share a quote for
- 5:17Speaker 4: you to maybe be motivated or inspired to take on
- 5:20Speaker 4: the rest of your day.
- 5:22Speaker 8: Now.
- 5:22Speaker 2: This one comes from a former president of Liberia. That's right,
- 5:25Speaker 2: I said, a former president of Liberia, an African country founded. Well,
- 5:30Speaker 2: it's got a great history. You should go and google
- 5:33Speaker 2: it if you have time.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Today.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Ellen Johnson, Sirleaf says, if your dreams don't scare you,
- 5:40Speaker 2: they're too small. If your dreams don't scare you, they're
- 5:46Speaker 2: too small. See that's the magical thing and the most
- 5:49Speaker 2: amazingly powerful thing to me about a dream. Right, you
- 5:53Speaker 2: have to dream beyond big dream to the point where
- 5:57Speaker 2: it makes you physically scared. That's when a dream is
- 6:02Speaker 2: starting to reach reality. That's when you start to see
- 6:06Speaker 2: that dream manifest itself. If your dreams don't scare you,
- 6:12Speaker 2: they're too small. Keep that in mind as you go
- 6:14Speaker 2: through today. And if you've got something that's spoken to
- 6:17Speaker 2: you before, maybe it'll speak to the entire DMV, all
- 6:20Speaker 2: fifteen people who listen to us, send it our way.
- 6:22Speaker 2: You can find your morning mindset on our insta or
- 6:25Speaker 2: on the Toby and chilipage at WASHFM dot com coming
- 6:28Speaker 2: up in a few minutes there at CHILIAMR. What do
- 6:30Speaker 2: we got?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well?
- 6:31Speaker 4: You and I used to be really compatible in this
- 6:34Speaker 4: one area of our lives, and I have noticed in
- 6:37Speaker 4: just this past week alone that that has changed.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Well that's not good, that's all.
- 6:43Speaker 4: But I feel like in order to is it a
- 6:45Speaker 4: deal breaker kind of bag could be? It could be
- 6:47Speaker 4: a deal breaker in this relationship. But I'll bring it
- 6:49Speaker 4: up just to be fair, to give you a chance
- 6:51Speaker 4: to defend yourself.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well, now I feel like I'm in trouble.
- 6:55Speaker 4: I'll explain in just a few minutes on ninety seven
- 6:57Speaker 4: point one wash FM.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Where till we Chili in the morning, and we would
- 7:01Speaker 2: love to hear from you right now at eight sixty
- 7:03Speaker 2: six nine two seven forty three sixty one. If you're
- 7:06Speaker 2: listening to ninety seven point one wat CHEFM on your
- 7:08Speaker 2: iheartapp and you're signed in, you can also use the
- 7:11Speaker 2: talk back microphone to shoot us a quick message.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I wish I knew what we were going to talk about.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Chili made some ominous comment a few minutes ago about compatibility.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, do tell what's going on.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Well, no, you and I are no longer thermostat compatible.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Well are you kidding me?
- 7:26Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 7:27Speaker 4: For almost a decade we both had agreed on seventy
- 7:30Speaker 4: is really comfortable in this way?
- 7:31Speaker 3: We've never had a problem.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Well we do now because twice now in the past week,
- 7:35Speaker 4: I have started to feel very warm by seven thirty
- 7:39Speaker 4: eight am. And yesterday when I walked over to where
- 7:43Speaker 4: the thermostat is, I noticed it was set at seventy nine.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't set that thing at seventy nine I
- 7:49Speaker 2: set that at maybe seventy one seventy two.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Why was the heat on because it was.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Sixty seven degrees.
- 7:56Speaker 4: You're supposed to agree take heat on. You're just supposed
- 7:59Speaker 4: to jacket up.
- 7:59Speaker 2: To Well, yeah, I turned the heat onto heato to
- 8:02Speaker 2: warm everything up.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Way the studios here work. It doesn't work that way.
- 8:05Speaker 4: So once you saw or felt that it was getting
- 8:08Speaker 4: warm in here, you didn't do anything about it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Well, in my defense, first of all, I did start
- 8:13Speaker 2: to feel warm, but I just didn't say anything. Well,
- 8:16Speaker 2: and number two, I assumed that the thermostat here worked
- 8:19Speaker 2: like every other thermostat.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Anywhere in the DMV.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Okay, So when you turn the heat on, it reaches
- 8:25Speaker 2: a certain temperature that it stops, and.
- 8:27Speaker 4: You're agreeing you're not going to turn the heat on anymore.
- 8:29Speaker 4: You're just gonna put it up to seventy and right
- 8:32Speaker 4: let the air automatically do its thing.
- 8:34Speaker 2: No matter what went wrong, Chili, I could always count
- 8:36Speaker 2: on the fact that we had that in common. And
- 8:39Speaker 2: now you're telling me that we don't. That shakes things
- 8:42Speaker 2: to the core.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I also think that this is a very common issue
- 8:45Speaker 4: for the workplace and at home.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Well, let's see good morning in Waldorf, Will Thermostat, How
- 8:52Speaker 2: are you are your team hot team cold?
- 8:54Speaker 3: Are you compatible? Not compatible? What's up?
- 8:56Speaker 6: I am team layer up?
- 8:59Speaker 8: Sweaters, layer up, don't turlead up.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Well, it sounds like your team chili, especially in the
- 9:05Speaker 4: wintertime at work. I know it's annoying, but wear more layers.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Have a good Dan Walder Phil I can tell how
- 9:11Speaker 2: this is gonna go. Give us a call or shoot
- 9:14Speaker 2: us quick talk back message. If you can relate to
- 9:16Speaker 2: these Thermostat issues. We can't wait to hear from you,
- 9:20Speaker 2: and we'll circle back on your thoughts coming up here
- 9:23Speaker 2: in minutes. But next top stories, top the hour, hangout
- 9:26Speaker 2: for the news.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Think of it.
- 9:28Speaker 2: With an extra thousand dollars, you could plan a weekend
- 9:30Speaker 2: staycation at the Salamander Resort and wine Country. That would
- 9:33Speaker 2: be huge right now, think about that becoming reality because
- 9:37Speaker 2: you have a chance to make it happen.
- 9:38Speaker 3: This morning.
- 9:39Speaker 4: It's our thousand dollars work day, payday. First keyword right

- 10:41Speaker 4: Instagram video yesterday urging anyone who's holding their eighty four
- 10:45Speaker 4: year old mother, Nancy Guthrie, to provide proof that she
- 10:49Speaker 4: is alive. They highlighted her fragile health and the need

- 11:33Speaker 4: wants to build a massive independence arch near the Lincoln Memorial,
- 11:37Speaker 4: claiming that Washington has waited two hundred years for it,

- 12:30Speaker 2: we're gonna hear from you about the conversation Chili and
- 12:32Speaker 2: I just had. She dropped it on me that we
- 12:35Speaker 2: are no longer compatible when it comes to the thermost
- 12:39Speaker 2: stat Can you relate to this? Do you have an
- 12:42Speaker 2: incompatibility with someone? Eight six six nineteen seven forty three
- 12:45Speaker 2: sixty one is the number if you want to jump
- 12:47Speaker 2: in talkbacks wide open two.
- 12:49Speaker 3: We'll get into this next.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Oh, the thermostat drama ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I said earlier that Toby and I are no longer
- 12:59Speaker 4: thermost's that compatible because he's been liking it a little
- 13:03Speaker 4: bit warmer than usual.
- 13:04Speaker 2: No, it wasn't really my fault. It's been like sub
- 13:08Speaker 2: zero when we've come in. I mean, it's cold out, freezing.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Just thought i'd heat things up a little bit so
- 13:14Speaker 2: we could be comfortable. Eight sixty six nineteen seven forty
- 13:17Speaker 2: three sixty one is the number. By the way, talkback's
- 13:20Speaker 2: wide open. You say, Hannah, you are having some workplace drama.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Thanks for the Colin Arlington. What's up?
- 13:26Speaker 5: Oh, I always want it warmer.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I've got the coldest toes and fingers, and it's rough.
- 13:31Speaker 5: It's rough out there in the winter.
- 13:33Speaker 3: It is, Hannah, it is.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Indeed, you do have the option of layering, which is
- 13:37Speaker 4: better than the option of taking off all your clothes.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Where do you work? Would you like it to bring lunch?
- 13:43Speaker 4: And wait till you get to a certain age you're
- 13:44Speaker 4: gonna stop being really coold.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Oh kyto six six ninety seven forty three sixty one.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Good morning, Turner in Alexandria. What's up with these thermostat
- 13:54Speaker 2: issues and wars in your world?
- 13:56Speaker 7: Yes?
- 13:56Speaker 8: So, whenever I'm home my mom she always insists on
- 14:00Speaker 8: keeping is like colder in the house. And I don't
- 14:03Speaker 8: know why, but me, my brother and I set that
- 14:07Speaker 8: all one and warmer. Of course, my mom is out
- 14:10Speaker 8: of the house, so she gets her way.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Well, you know, at least you're just visiting and you
- 14:13Speaker 4: no longer live there, so look on the bright side.
- 14:16Speaker 2: That's right, spoken by a mama. And remember if mama
- 14:18Speaker 2: ain't happy, ain't nobody in the house happy.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Thank you, Turner.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Now, Mary in Silver Spring, you're having some thermostat drama
- 14:25Speaker 2: at your house, right?
- 14:26Speaker 9: Oh yeah, there is a civil war going on in
- 14:29Speaker 9: our house, hot versus cold.
- 14:32Speaker 5: I'm on the cold side and it is too hot.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Mary. Thank you.
- 14:36Speaker 2: It sounds like you are on team Chili this morning,
- 14:39Speaker 2: No pun intended. Did you hear what I did there?
- 14:42Speaker 6: Very very clever. Thank you so much for sharing and Chili.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I promise I will not turn our studio into an
- 14:47Speaker 2: inferno ever.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Again.
- 14:49Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one watch FM. Tell me and
- 14:51Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning stay right there because we're going
- 14:54Speaker 2: to talk about laundry. When do you consider it actually done?
- 15:00Speaker 2: What does that mean to you?
- 15:01Speaker 4: There's a little bit of difference in our household, and
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'll tell you more about it coming.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Up in just a few minutes.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Good morning, Tobya, Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
- 15:11Speaker 2: point one, Wash Chef and what's on your mind?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Chilly?
- 15:14Speaker 6: How would you define laundry being done.
- 15:16Speaker 3: When I pick it up from zeps? No, I'm just kidding.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I think that when I'm doing my laundry at home,
- 15:22Speaker 2: it's done when the buzzer goes off and I've checked
- 15:24Speaker 2: the clothes to make sure they're fully dry, and then
- 15:27Speaker 2: the laundry's done.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Well, that's interesting that you would say that, because I too,
- 15:32Speaker 4: before my husband taught me the right way, thought that
- 15:35Speaker 4: that was considered done. But you see, it is not
- 15:38Speaker 4: done now in our household until everything is put away.
- 15:42Speaker 4: That is truly when laundry is done. That is how
- 15:45Speaker 4: we define it being done.
- 15:46Speaker 2: That sounds like semantics to me. No, it's just adding
- 15:50Speaker 2: extra steps. The process of doing the laundry is wash,
- 15:53Speaker 2: then dry.
- 15:54Speaker 4: But there's still that last step the clothes are put away,
- 15:58Speaker 4: because until you do that, that chore quote unquote isn't
- 16:02Speaker 4: truly complete.
- 16:03Speaker 6: The cycle is not completely I.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Can see what you're saying, and I'm not disagreeing with it.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I just don't count that part of the equation as
- 16:13Speaker 2: being a part of the entire equation.
- 16:15Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 16:15Speaker 4: Okay, I got you. I got you, and I don't
- 16:17Speaker 4: think you're alone in thinking that. I am curious though,
- 16:21Speaker 4: if our producer crash, if how he would define.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Come on down, come on down, all right?
- 16:29Speaker 6: Define it?
- 16:29Speaker 3: When is the laundry done? When it's done and put away?
- 16:32Speaker 2: Ah, this is the day where I just can't side
- 16:36Speaker 2: with you guys at all.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I mean, this is cuco cocoa put.
