- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up, Gorge. It is La La Kent with Rand.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I'm laughing because we have two amazing guests today. We
- 0:22Speaker 2: have Sistine and Sophia st Alone.
- 0:28Speaker 3: And high Energy podcast today. That's what I'm talking about.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but Randa and I have to share a
- 0:33Speaker 2: mic because we're just so lazy that we have yet
- 0:36Speaker 2: to order a fourth mic.
- 0:38Speaker 1: You guys, well, I don't know.
- 0:39Speaker 4: How I'm gonna not laugh. Yeah, you guys pushing mics
- 0:42Speaker 4: every two seconds. It's gonna be amazing.
- 0:44Speaker 1: No, it'll be intense.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Okay, first of all, I have to say we're a
- 0:48Speaker 3: little lazy.
- 0:48Speaker 5: We have to order the mic today. That's kind of
- 0:50Speaker 5: ridiculous that we have throats. But I just want to
- 0:53Speaker 5: say that I'm totally stoked. We have a lot to
- 0:55Speaker 5: talk about. You guys are crushing or people don't know,
- 0:59Speaker 5: but you guys have a new podcast, which is so
- 1:01Speaker 5: cool because we just started ours a year ago. So
- 1:04Speaker 5: I'd love to just start with like hearing about how
- 1:06Speaker 5: that came through.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Why did you guys come up with this idea? Did
- 1:09Speaker 3: somebody bring it to you? Like just the whole thing.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So I kind of was the one that pioneered the
- 1:13Speaker 1: whole idea.
- 1:14Speaker 4: We were really into talking to each other and we
- 1:17Speaker 4: had a lot of the ideas, but I wanted to
- 1:18Speaker 4: do something a bit different, which was more of like
- 1:20Speaker 4: an OPRAH for young adults, and so mine was a
- 1:23Speaker 4: bit more serious, and I tried to pitch it to
- 1:25Speaker 4: a ton of companies and it wasn't working, and Sustine
- 1:28Speaker 4: was just nagging me, like.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Get me on the show, get me on the show.
- 1:31Speaker 4: A lot to say, and so I thought, let me
- 1:34Speaker 4: just contribute it, so, you know, wanted to do her
- 1:36Speaker 4: own thing, have it just be her project, and lots
- 1:42Speaker 4: of nagging later, so at every single company was like,
- 1:46Speaker 4: we're not working with you.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, I find that so hard to believe.
- 1:52Speaker 2: What would they say?
- 1:53Speaker 4: They liked the idea, but they thought it wasn't going
- 1:56Speaker 4: to be appealing to millennials or gen Z, which now
- 1:59Speaker 4: I understand.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I totally agree.
- 2:00Speaker 4: I think everything out there now is you have to
- 2:02Speaker 4: have a shock factor, you have to be a bigger personnel.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I don't think there's a lot of platforms that do
- 2:07Speaker 4: more of the serious type concepts unless you're in your.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Forties or like, yeah, people want you to be kind
- 2:13Speaker 1: of slutty exactly.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Remember, exactly exactly, so we are Soyba tried to sell
- 2:20Speaker 4: it as let's get medical professionals on, let's get authors on.
- 2:24Speaker 4: She wanted to make it really informative personality, and I said, no,
- 2:27Speaker 4: one wants to hear that. So I said, okay, power numbers, Sustine,
- 2:32Speaker 4: come on.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And so we went to probably.
- 2:35Speaker 4: The first podcast studio that would take us, and they
- 2:38Speaker 4: were like, let's do it, and Custine and I just
- 2:40Speaker 4: had this natural banner and it's.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Perfect because we're pull her office. And the show's called Unwaxed,
- 2:45Speaker 1: so I love the name.
- 2:47Speaker 4: It's pretty much actually, we didn't think of it, which
- 2:51Speaker 4: is and I think it's kind of weird to say,
- 2:53Speaker 4: who thought of it?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Who did think of it?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Sylvester, Yeah, so not as creepysy.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Well, he told us to not tell people, Oh my god.
- 3:04Speaker 5: By the way, by the way, people don't realize. I mean,
- 3:06Speaker 5: I know because I've done a lot of movies with
- 3:07Speaker 5: your dad. He Besides, he's a creative genius obviously, but
- 3:11Speaker 5: he's really smart with things that you would be like
- 3:15Speaker 5: would I go to him last for that? Like I
- 3:17Speaker 5: would ever think, like, let's go to sly and ask
- 3:18Speaker 5: him for a podcast name.
- 3:20Speaker 3: But he does come up with a lot of really
- 3:22Speaker 3: really smart shit.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Well, if you look at his characters, they're the most interesting, weird,
- 3:27Speaker 4: Like he'll name someone Christmas and Barnie Ross like yeah, random,
- 3:32Speaker 4: just so random.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but he really came through with that one.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, So now just take us this.
- 3:37Speaker 5: So you come up with the idea, you come up
- 3:38Speaker 5: with the name, and then you go to a podcast studio,
- 3:41Speaker 5: and how does the process start and what is it
- 3:43Speaker 5: like when you're doing it?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Do you enjoy it?
- 3:46Speaker 5: Is there a lot of growing pains like we had
- 3:47Speaker 5: because Lala and I were like, we didn't know what
- 3:50Speaker 5: fuck we were doing when we started, so it took it.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Like I talked way too much. They told me to
- 3:54Speaker 5: shut up things like that.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So tell us it was definitely a work in progress.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I feel like first one was hey, actually we did
- 4:01Speaker 4: practice runs before we did our official first episode, and
- 4:04Speaker 4: we were so bad.
- 4:05Speaker 1: We looked at each.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Other like are we are we fucking crazy? Like why
- 4:09Speaker 4: are we doing this? This is like the worst idea.
- 4:11Speaker 4: For maybe three to four months, we would get our
- 4:14Speaker 4: phone record ourselves just practicing, and every three minutes we
- 4:18Speaker 4: would pause it while the other person was talking and
- 4:21Speaker 4: critique them. So then we ended up taking four hours
- 4:24Speaker 4: to shoot one and then we just would leave because
- 4:26Speaker 4: we're fighting. Yeah, but it's kind of crazy. I feel
- 4:29Speaker 4: like the transition from how we were then to now.
- 4:31Speaker 4: We used to have at least three pages of Google
- 4:34Speaker 4: Docs before, like while we're shooting, so we would know
- 4:36Speaker 4: the topics, the transitions, who to bring up, and it
- 4:39Speaker 4: was so detailed, and if we didn't have something, we
- 4:42Speaker 4: thought that it was going to implode.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And so now today I think.
- 4:44Speaker 4: It's more we'll have like a topic and we'll write
- 4:47Speaker 4: it down and we just riff off.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Each other, right, like, just let it flow.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I find like I'm a virgo, so I also yeah, yeah, Google,
- 4:56Speaker 2: I'm like, I.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Know where your head's at. I know.
- 4:58Speaker 2: But then I feel like I got kind of when
- 5:00Speaker 2: I have something that's that detailed, it almost fucks my
- 5:04Speaker 2: mind up a little bit.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Following the script is hard, especially when you want
- 5:09Speaker 4: to be creative and funny and hit certain notes and
- 5:11Speaker 4: your brain is just all over the place.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Right, And then I sit there and I'm like, I
- 5:14Speaker 2: didn't talk about that one thing though, and.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It just becomes like too much for me to hit
- 5:19Speaker 1: it or I went off track? Was that like weird?
- 5:21Speaker 4: And is that like not making sense for the show anymore?
- 5:24Speaker 4: And I mean we have to cut that whole thing out.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Seem's like, no, that's your authenticity, like you're being honest
- 5:28Speaker 4: about I think that was the hardest part for us,
- 5:31Speaker 4: was trying to sort of create an image for ourselves
- 5:35Speaker 4: that we want out there, because no one really knows
- 5:37Speaker 4: who we are.
- 5:37Speaker 1: No one knows our personality.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So in the beginning, we really tried to come off
- 5:41Speaker 4: as cookie cutter, perfect twenty four and twenty three year
- 5:45Speaker 4: olds and that's and as the show has grown, we're
- 5:48Speaker 4: almost not a fiftieth episode and you can just see
- 5:50Speaker 4: that it's just authentic and people are like, you know,
- 5:53Speaker 4: you're really honest on the show. They're like, yeah, you
- 5:58Speaker 4: remind us of this other girl that's on our show.
- 6:00Speaker 1: But you guys are just raw. And I'm like, oh god,
- 6:04Speaker 1: we don't care, like we just spill it all. But
- 6:06Speaker 1: I think that that's what makes an epic podcast.
- 6:08Speaker 2: No one wants to hear some well, I'm sure there
- 6:10Speaker 2: are people, but that's not who we are obviously targeting.
- 6:13Speaker 2: We want the people that are like, I want to
- 6:17Speaker 2: talk about bleaching assholes.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Or like whatever it may be. Mention it all, mention
- 6:25Speaker 1: it all. I think people like that.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I agree because one of the things that we were
- 6:29Speaker 5: so obsessed with too is that like we'd be like,
- 6:31Speaker 5: who's the guest this week? Remember, we would do that,
- 6:33Speaker 5: like every we'd obsess, like the next three weeks out
- 6:35Speaker 5: who our guests would be. And then we started getting
- 6:38Speaker 5: feedback and from fans and from the network that there
- 6:42Speaker 5: are podcasts and they're like, you guys, we like you,
- 6:45Speaker 5: Like it doesn't always have to be the biggest star
- 6:48Speaker 5: in the world, because we're like, we need the loan,
- 6:50Speaker 5: we need Quava, we need this guy we need And
- 6:53Speaker 5: all of a sudden we realize, like, wow, they really
- 6:55Speaker 5: like laugh at us and with us, and.
- 6:56Speaker 4: It's okay and so true from I mean, I've listened
- 6:59Speaker 4: to a bunch of Your Guys's episodes and I found
- 7:02Speaker 4: that the ones that were my favorite were with just
- 7:05Speaker 4: you guys, or having the mom talk or the dad talk.
- 7:07Speaker 1: It wasn't the big guest.
- 7:08Speaker 4: That you guys had your banter before the guest came
- 7:10Speaker 4: on was the best part of it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Was so nice it's true. Tell me this.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Do your do your parents listen to your podcast each week?
- 7:19Speaker 4: Jen used to mom used to listen to it every week.
- 7:21Speaker 4: She's hinting on lazy. Sly refuses what I told him,
- 7:25Speaker 4: we do not want you to listen. My dad started strong.
- 7:28Speaker 4: He listened to the first episode and he goes, this
- 7:30Speaker 4: is great. The second episode was advice from a fuck boy.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Oh and after I heard that one, he goes, I
- 7:37Speaker 4: think I'm good.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Right, He was like, I just want to think of
- 7:40Speaker 2: you guys as like three year old little girls that yeah, yeah, totally.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Let me tell you something.
- 7:45Speaker 5: If I was your father and I heard that episode,
- 7:48Speaker 5: it would be the last one I'd ever listened to,
- 7:50Speaker 5: So I can understand. So by the way I think that,
- 7:53Speaker 5: I mean, and I'm speaking for Sly, but I think
- 7:55Speaker 5: that part of being the successful father that he is
- 7:58Speaker 5: is letting you guys go into the world and having
- 8:01Speaker 5: your voice. And and by the way, I don't think
- 8:03Speaker 5: people really know because like you said, the Stalone Girls
- 8:07Speaker 5: or whatever, the Stalone Sisters, but like now you have
- 8:10Speaker 5: your voice and it's like kind of really shining, and
- 8:13Speaker 5: I think that's really really special, and I think that's
- 8:15Speaker 5: a success.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Of a father. You know, let me panning it down,
- 8:18Speaker 3: and that's cool.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Totally, and I feel like we have I think he
- 8:21Speaker 4: also loves the fact that if you guys know him personally,
- 8:24Speaker 4: so you know that he's a very open book about things.
- 8:26Speaker 1: He does not have a filter.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I feel like anyone that knows him personally is like,
- 8:30Speaker 4: this guy's not as.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Cookie cutters, still laying me it's a filter.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Yeah. So it's funny because I feel like people are
- 8:35Speaker 4: getting like a sneak peek of what he really is
- 8:38Speaker 4: like because we're the same way, Like we.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Don't really hold back on anything.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It's like if we talk about sex, we talk about sex,
- 8:42Speaker 4: we talk about mental health, we'll talking about mental health.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Why hold back?
- 8:45Speaker 4: And I feel like people have been getting they got
- 8:48Speaker 4: over the shock. Now now they're like, okay, what's next,
- 8:50Speaker 4: Like what's more for the show?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Right? Well, I was, you know, lucky enough to come
- 8:55Speaker 2: and have dinner at your guys's home with your other
- 8:58Speaker 2: little sister, Scarlet, and then your mom, and obviously your
- 9:04Speaker 2: dad was there, and.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I will his name is Sly.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say your dad. It's funny because I
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't even say my dad. I call him Sli. Your
- 9:17Speaker 1: dad's Sly. That's dope.
- 9:19Speaker 2: And just to see your guys back and forth with
- 9:21Speaker 2: him is amazing. I mean, I feel like people like
- 9:24Speaker 2: Sly and Rand just get cursed with all girls.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yes, don't you think? Yes?
- 9:30Speaker 4: Because I feel like because they have so much energy,
- 9:33Speaker 4: they need the girl energy to bring them down at them. Yes,
- 9:38Speaker 4: because I know that he does not get away with
- 9:40Speaker 4: ship shows.
- 9:42Speaker 1: But he wanted only girls.
- 9:44Speaker 4: He did only want Now he regrets it. Girls are
- 9:46Speaker 4: a little bit expensive. But I tell him, I.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Go, Dad, girls are forever. When men find their woman,
- 9:51Speaker 1: they leave. They don't need you. No, they don't need
- 9:53Speaker 1: you girls or forever we're.
- 9:55Speaker 4: That.
- 9:56Speaker 3: That is so true. What a great thing.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Because you know what I told Lala when when we
- 10:00Speaker 5: were trying to have Ocean, which took about four weeks,
- 10:04Speaker 5: but but literally, but when we were trying to have
- 10:07Speaker 5: a baby, She's like, you know, she was dead set
- 10:10Speaker 5: in her mind at that time. Obviously now she's in paradise,
- 10:13Speaker 5: but but she was like, I got to give you
- 10:16Speaker 5: a boy. And I was like, no, you don't understand something.
- 10:18Speaker 5: I'm good, I'm old, and I like to cuddle. I
- 10:22Speaker 5: like to get you know, go to manicures and pedicures.
- 10:24Speaker 5: I'm like, good shopping. I'm not going to be a
- 10:27Speaker 5: great boy. Dad like I'm too slow and too old,
- 10:31Speaker 5: and and then and then I told her, and the
- 10:33Speaker 5: other thing is, you're too o CD and if we
- 10:35Speaker 5: have a boy jumping off the furniture into the wall,
- 10:38Speaker 5: you're going to go crazy.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So anyway, so I didn't really feel like I needed
- 10:42Speaker 2: to give you a boy.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I just wanted a boy.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Oh I thought you were being selfless.
- 10:46Speaker 5: But okay, okay, anyway, so next time, just agree and pretend, Okay,
- 10:51Speaker 5: I want.
- 10:52Speaker 1: A boy right now. So I mean, slow down. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't know, I do want to boy. I don't know
- 10:57Speaker 1: if it's because I'm so surrounded by girls. Twenty four seven.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Wanted to throw something in the mix because we're so
- 11:02Speaker 4: I feel like we're all because my mom's whole side,
- 11:04Speaker 4: they've only had one of one gender. My mom's sisters
- 11:07Speaker 4: had four boys. My mom's others said three girls.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Three girls. There hasn't been like a mix, even female dogs.
- 11:15Speaker 1: But go go back to choice, my choice.
- 11:19Speaker 4: But going back to the dinner when you guys came over,
- 11:21Speaker 4: that was one of the most chaotic dinner conversations in
- 11:25Speaker 4: the best way possible. And my mom comes up to
- 11:27Speaker 4: us after you guys had left and goes, do you
- 11:30Speaker 4: think we scared them off?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Like, I don't think they're gonna not at all. You
- 11:34Speaker 1: like had me hooked after that?
- 11:35Speaker 4: Oh.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I was like I was already super down and we
- 11:39Speaker 2: had just found out that I was pregnant with others.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, right right, that's right. I think you guys are
- 11:44Speaker 1: like the first people I saw after Oh my god,
- 11:47Speaker 1: how crazy?
- 11:48Speaker 3: Is that?
- 11:49Speaker 1: So cool?
- 11:50Speaker 3: That was?
- 11:50Speaker 5: That was a week after we got back from North Carolina.
- 11:52Speaker 5: It was like we were like two weeks maybe in
- 11:54Speaker 5: and that I mean very quick, Yeah, yeah, wow, uh
- 11:58Speaker 5: what I like to call givoting.
- 12:01Speaker 3: No, you weren't. You weren't scaring anybody. We were coming
- 12:04Speaker 3: back for more, like we were live anytime. Flies calling
- 12:07Speaker 3: and I was like, what are you doing tomorrow night?
- 12:09Speaker 3: And I was like, are we going on a date? Slide?
- 12:11Speaker 3: And he's like, no, you want to go in for dinner.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I was like, well, I'm still out of town. You know,
- 12:14Speaker 3: he's always he's great.
- 12:15Speaker 5: But so so here's the question I get from a
- 12:18Speaker 5: lot of my friends. Neither one of you know this
- 12:20Speaker 5: but because I shield you from I feel like, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 5: parental shield, like I have to do it for slide.
- 12:27Speaker 5: People see you on Instagram. You guys have these big
- 12:29Speaker 5: Instagram followings. You have these big social media followings. Obviously
- 12:32Speaker 5: people know who you are. I get a question and
- 12:34Speaker 5: the question is are you two single? We have I
- 12:38Speaker 5: want the answer officially on this podcast.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Said that such a hilarious question. Yes we are so,
- 12:44Speaker 1: and actually we're about to talk about why we're single.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Why do you think it's our fault that we're seeing
- 12:49Speaker 4: a way on our podcast today record. We've spent about
- 12:53Speaker 4: twenty episodes on our podcast discussing why it's everyone else
- 12:56Speaker 4: that's the.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Problem and why we're single. And Sophia, I'm not kidding you.
- 13:00Speaker 4: This morning I walk in a room, she goes, Systeine,
- 13:02Speaker 4: I think it's us said the problem, and I was like,
- 13:05Speaker 4: we should talk about why we find every single problem
- 13:09Speaker 4: and the guys we're dating and find the most ridiculous
- 13:12Speaker 4: one and why we broke up with them, and talk
- 13:14Speaker 4: about the podcast like our defense mechanisms and you.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Can you give us an example of a guy that
- 13:18Speaker 5: you each were dating and what you made up in
- 13:20Speaker 5: your head that was horribly wrong.
- 13:22Speaker 3: You don't have to pay the name, of course.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Oh my god, Oh I know I've done a guy
- 13:28Speaker 4: because he gave me too much attention. Yeah, it's just
- 13:31Speaker 4: so stupid because the opposite, I get way pissier.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, he's just too much, Like what else
- 13:37Speaker 1: do I want?
- 13:38Speaker 4: I stopped seeing a guy because on the second date
- 13:42Speaker 4: he gave me a pet name, called me his little pickle. Okay,
- 13:46Speaker 4: i'd break up, but he was the nicest guy ago,
- 13:49Speaker 4: but no, no, no, but I can't be a little yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Oh god no, it's like we even say, like Colone
- 13:56Speaker 4: changes if it's like too many different sons.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Okay, you allright, So let me ask it.
- 14:02Speaker 5: So both you were single now during the pandemic, which
- 14:05Speaker 5: I had spoken to you guys, it was obviously for
- 14:08Speaker 5: somebody singles super hard to date because you guys were
- 14:10Speaker 5: locked down. How did you deal with that or was
- 14:12Speaker 5: it just online?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Like what happened?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Okay? The weirdest thing. I don't know why. I think
- 14:16Speaker 1: I've thrived during quarantine one that I've ever done in
- 14:19Speaker 1: my entire life. So serial dating.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Would get six dates really days? Yeah, well I did
- 14:26Speaker 4: it for the podcast. I was kind of trying to test.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Them like zoom dates.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah, zoom dates a lot of them, and they were
- 14:32Speaker 4: just wow a zoom dat there's so high.
- 14:36Speaker 1: By the way, it's really specific. We had to get
- 14:39Speaker 1: the lighting right. We put candles in the back. Very moody.
- 14:43Speaker 1: That's really very very moody. So he was in the background,
- 14:46Speaker 1: was like, well, what we've moved on.
- 14:48Speaker 4: What we thought was just a genius idea now looking back,
- 14:51Speaker 4: was actually so stupid of us to do. We decided
- 14:53Speaker 4: to join a dating app, during which one during the pandemic,
- 14:57Speaker 4: we joined Riyah and pinge.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Okay, and I thought, how how is that or what
- 15:05Speaker 1: is it? Like, well, we're not on it anymore, but
- 15:07Speaker 1: it's just horrible.
- 15:08Speaker 4: I'll tell you why Riah doesn't work for us, because
- 15:12Speaker 4: it's a bunch of people that think that they are
- 15:14Speaker 4: just the cats meow. And for example, this one guy
- 15:18Speaker 4: had message Sophia and asked her out and said, how
- 15:21Speaker 4: do you feel if we go get a hamburger and
- 15:23Speaker 4: go to the beach. Sophia says, that's not my vibe
- 15:26Speaker 4: at all, right, not your vibe?
- 15:27Speaker 1: What's your vibe? She's lying? I just the guy was
- 15:30Speaker 1: too short and that's just.
- 15:34Speaker 3: What's the height requirement?
- 15:36Speaker 1: We have to know at least like six feet. Holy
- 15:39Speaker 1: please to say I agree, but you're not six Lawa.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I am six feet minus two inches.
- 15:48Speaker 1: That I could take.
- 15:49Speaker 4: I just need to at least when I wear my
- 15:51Speaker 4: four in sheets, at least be we're not offended.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Next you, Sorry, it's the I agree.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I agree with Lawa. Six. If that's what you need,
- 15:59Speaker 3: you should get six feet.
- 16:00Speaker 1: See, I feel like I mean picky. No, you're not
- 16:03Speaker 1: a problem. It's like, it's okay, old, are you again?
- 16:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna be twenty five next month? Okay, fuck off.
- 16:07Speaker 1: You can take as much time as you need find
- 16:12Speaker 1: six feet.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You can say what you want him to do, what
- 16:16Speaker 2: you want him to look like, no attention, too much attention.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You can break up with him. You're twenty five.
- 16:21Speaker 4: We just sort of will be saying yes to anyone
- 16:23Speaker 4: that asks us out though.
- 16:24Speaker 1: That's the problem. We're not picky enough. We literally just say.
- 16:27Speaker 1: And then the problem is we do the most.
- 16:29Speaker 4: On the first few dates, we try to entertain do
- 16:31Speaker 4: a little dad yeah, be smart, be funny, good conversationalists,
- 16:35Speaker 4: and then by date three we go, oh my god,
- 16:37Speaker 4: they have the personality of a doorknob and you don't
- 16:40Speaker 4: know who they are. Who did you just date for
- 16:42Speaker 4: the past five weeks?
- 16:43Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Okay, because I'm older, so I'm a little different generation
- 16:47Speaker 5: gap here. If they have a great personality and they're
- 16:52Speaker 5: five eight, do you overlook the hype?
- 16:55Speaker 3: No pun intended?
- 16:56Speaker 1: Actually no, no, actually I do you do? Did take
- 16:59Speaker 1: me up?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Bit?
- 17:00Speaker 4: You're gon?
- 17:00Speaker 1: In college? I know I was, really because.
- 17:02Speaker 4: My last boyfriend was six seven what yeah, so he
- 17:06Speaker 4: was super super tall, so I was I was kind
- 17:09Speaker 4: of jaded by that. I'm like, everyone is short, but
- 17:12Speaker 4: obviously honestly a giant. But no, yes, yes, I feel
- 17:16Speaker 4: like as I've gotten older, and I think the more
- 17:18Speaker 4: guys we've dated were like personality, we just need that
- 17:21Speaker 4: someone that's funny, that can keep up with us, because
- 17:23Speaker 4: I mean, we're not hard to date honestly, like we
- 17:26Speaker 4: like to.
- 17:26Speaker 1: We honestly did the easiest things ever.
- 17:28Speaker 4: We're not like I.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Said this to you guys when we were doing the movie.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Won't talk about that in a second, but I was saying, like,
- 17:37Speaker 5: I think guys are probably at your age intimidated because
- 17:41Speaker 5: there's a big thing that comes with you right, Like
- 17:44Speaker 5: looming in the back is the Sylvester Stilttle legacy. So
- 17:47Speaker 5: you've got that, and then you've got these two women
- 17:50Speaker 5: that you guys are funny, you're strong, you're.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Intelligent, you know what I mean. Like, you guys are
- 17:54Speaker 3: the package. I would think, thank you, no, and I
- 17:57Speaker 3: and I know you guys. You guys are good people.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Like that's also a huge thing in the world to
- 18:01Speaker 5: be you know, so I think that you know, you
- 18:03Speaker 5: have to find a.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Guy at least if I was to guess that's strong,
- 18:07Speaker 3: you know, very very confident. You know, I think no
- 18:10Speaker 3: matter what age and what.
- 18:12Speaker 4: The confident is a huge thing because a lot of
- 18:14Speaker 4: the guys that we go out with, they go out
- 18:16Speaker 4: with us for the wrong reasons.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Of course most of the time.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Most of the time we normally know when they talk
- 18:22Speaker 4: about it a ton on the first day.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I really there's no shame.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Oh no, no, I'll get this. I've had a guy
- 18:27Speaker 4: bring a resume on my first day. Yeah, you're fucking
- 18:30Speaker 4: it was thirty two. You would think a man in
- 18:32Speaker 4: his thirties, but yeah, he was trying to be a
- 18:35Speaker 4: director or something like that.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he brought his resume for you to give to
- 18:38Speaker 2: your day exactly.
- 18:39Speaker 4: The problem is a lot of these guys, like I
- 18:42Speaker 4: say to me to my girlfriend, the next day they
- 18:44Speaker 4: like met them.
- 18:45Speaker 1: They're like, would she get me court side seats with
- 18:47Speaker 1: her dad? Yeah? No? Yeah, so another a damn, why
- 18:50Speaker 1: are you? Oh so that's why we're still single? Is
- 18:52Speaker 1: that we everyone?
- 18:54Speaker 4: Really?
- 18:55Speaker 1: No?
- 18:55Speaker 2: No, it sounds like it's everyone else's problem. You guys
- 18:58Speaker 2: have listed off a few like schmunkies.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's just we know how to pick up.
- 19:04Speaker 3: But you know what part of the thing is coming.
- 19:06Speaker 5: And you know, it's easy to say from an outside
- 19:08Speaker 5: like oh they come from this lineage blah blah blah,
- 19:11Speaker 5: and you know, but at the same time, like there's
- 19:13Speaker 5: also a curse to that, like you know, like you said,
- 19:15Speaker 5: like are they dating you for the right reason?
- 19:17Speaker 3: I think that's a big thing.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Like you're gonna have to go the extra mile with
- 19:21Speaker 5: somebody just to make sure you're getting that right person,
- 19:23Speaker 5: because you know, you don't, like you said, you don't
- 19:26Speaker 5: want somebody using you for for whatever it is.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it'd be a lot easier if you guys were
- 19:31Speaker 2: like unfortunate looking, because then you would know for sure
- 19:36Speaker 2: everyone who was in it for the wrong readings, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 2: you'd be like, well, I'm kind of busted and they're
- 19:41Speaker 2: really into me.
- 19:42Speaker 1: They're definitely in it firstly, but you're like.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Hot, so it's like, are they with me because I'm
- 19:47Speaker 2: fun hot?
- 19:49Speaker 1: Or you know, there's so many options.
- 19:52Speaker 4: To choose from so much No, I think that honestly nice.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I probably, Yeah, it's scary and I feel like people
- 19:59Speaker 4: think that we're going to be a lot. I think
- 20:00Speaker 4: the pandemic really made us realize how longly were we
- 20:03Speaker 4: tried to look really hard for a relationship, and now
- 20:06Speaker 4: we're like, you know what, let's just focus on our career.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Let's grind for this year.
- 20:10Speaker 3: By the way, great idea, yeah, and.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Just do us and if it comes around, it'll come run.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Can I say this and we're gonna go to a
- 20:14Speaker 5: break real quick. I just want to say that. I
- 20:16Speaker 5: think you're right. We work hard and then the right
- 20:18Speaker 5: situation will come at the right time, versus we all
- 20:22Speaker 5: have in our lives. Lalla and I both individually in
- 20:24Speaker 5: our lives have.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Forced or tried. It never works that way.
- 20:27Speaker 5: And I think when you least expected, you know, she
- 20:29Speaker 5: came smashing into my life and has a left since.
- 20:35Speaker 1: We need this gosh, I love you too, babe. Let's
- 20:39Speaker 1: go to a break.
- 20:44Speaker 2: We are back in case you've been living under a rock.
- 20:48Speaker 2: It is Laala Kent and you're listening to our podcast
- 20:51Speaker 2: Give Them Laala with Randall. Yes, we have Sustine and
- 20:55Speaker 2: Sofia still alone. So we've spoken to you guys about
- 21:03Speaker 2: your epic or not so epic.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I guess dating fails however you'd like to look.
- 21:09Speaker 4: We've also been manifesting toxic Girl Summer for the past
- 21:12Speaker 4: couple months. I think we're now just shooting ourself in
- 21:14Speaker 4: the foot. Yeah, we wanted a drama filled summer.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Now we really don't want a drama full summer. We
- 21:18Speaker 1: keep running into every X since we've been back in
- 21:21Speaker 1: la So we're really.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Just we're manifesting the r take a healthy girl with
- 21:26Speaker 4: her boyfriend summer please.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I mean I kind of thrived during the pandemic as well,
- 21:31Speaker 2: because they told me that I absolutely could not leave
- 21:34Speaker 2: my house, and that's when I do the best.
- 21:37Speaker 4: See you know what, My mom was the same way.
- 21:39Speaker 4: She wants every night for us to be sitting on
- 21:42Speaker 4: the couch doing a puzzle eating cheese pups. Every single night,
- 21:44Speaker 4: and we did that every night.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It was amazing a lot.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Yeah, that's like hell for me. So the pandemic was
- 21:52Speaker 5: a test of my true self. The only thing I
- 21:55Speaker 5: will say is it allowed me to slow down and
- 21:58Speaker 5: really take inventory in my life and remember what is important.
- 22:01Speaker 5: So I think that was a beautiful thing for me
- 22:03Speaker 5: because I needed that. But I'm not somebody that does
- 22:06Speaker 5: really well sitting still.
- 22:08Speaker 2: But at your guys' age, for sure, I would have
- 22:13Speaker 2: not been living my best life.
- 22:15Speaker 4: I went into pandemic twenty three. I'm coming out twenty five.
- 22:18Speaker 4: I'm just depressed. Yeah, year, like the year after, like
- 22:22Speaker 4: the seventh bag of cheese, pus, I go, this is
- 22:24Speaker 4: getting a little sad. There was literally twelve different varieties
- 22:28Speaker 4: of cheese plus that we were trying.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I wish I was kidding. I could take a photo
- 22:30Speaker 1: and send it to you guys. It was bad.
- 22:32Speaker 4: So yeah, it sucks that we feel like we were
- 22:34Speaker 4: robbed of a few years, but so was everyone, so
- 22:36Speaker 4: we can't feel too bad.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I want to.
- 22:38Speaker 5: I want to just mention one thing on a side
- 22:39Speaker 5: because you and I have a movie coming out and
- 22:42Speaker 5: Midnight and Switchcrafts, which, by the way, people.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Don't know Susteine Saloney is one of the stars. You
- 22:46Speaker 3: crushed it.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 22:48Speaker 5: What's crazy is talking about the pandemic. We were in
- 22:51Speaker 5: Puerto Rico together the week before the world ended.
- 22:54Speaker 1: It was crazy, yea.
- 22:56Speaker 5: So just tell people like that experience, because I've said
- 22:58Speaker 5: I've talked about the podcast with she was We've been
- 23:01Speaker 5: through it for basically many shutdowns. But just your experience,
- 23:05Speaker 5: you came out, you booked the movie, just kind of
- 23:07Speaker 5: the whole thing.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Well, when I even read the script and did the audition,
- 23:10Speaker 4: I said, this is the type of dark shit that
- 23:13Speaker 4: I love.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Like this script I just spoke to me. So I
- 23:16Speaker 1: was so excited to even read You didn't like the
- 23:17Speaker 1: person that was doing the background.
- 23:19Speaker 4: For Soia was like I was at the audition, like
- 23:23Speaker 4: I just said it up for you. Sofia was reading
- 23:25Speaker 4: the lines with me. My mom is holding a ringlet
- 23:27Speaker 4: and filming at the same time. So it was a
- 23:29Speaker 4: full production.
- 23:30Speaker 1: That is amazing. I wish I could have seen that.
- 23:33Speaker 1: We do every single audition. My auditions.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Why it's so funny because sometimes I'll have my dad
- 23:37Speaker 4: read across from me, and I'll tell you why that
- 23:40Speaker 4: never works. I always get two responses back, one being
- 23:44Speaker 4: it's a good audition, but the voice is a little
- 23:47Speaker 4: bit distracting in the background because we know who it is.
- 23:50Speaker 4: And the second one is to say, if I'm you know,
- 23:53Speaker 4: a girlfriend that has to tell her boyfriend that I'm
- 23:56Speaker 4: laid on my period and I have to have this
- 23:58Speaker 4: very emotional scene with my dad.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I'm like, oh god, this is just awkward, Like how
- 24:03Speaker 1: do you get into character?
- 24:04Speaker 5: And by the way, there's no other guys in your house,
- 24:06Speaker 5: so that's your only go to.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Exactly, like good, exactly, but like that.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Anyway, the audition was great, obviously, I booked it and
- 24:13Speaker 4: then flew to Puerto Rico. You were so amazing when
- 24:16Speaker 4: I got they were so sweet and it was funny
- 24:18Speaker 4: because the first night that we went out as a
- 24:21Speaker 4: big crew, my dad was like, Sistine, where are you.
- 24:24Speaker 4: He had no idea that I was even in Puerto.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Rico, and Ryndad's like, you didn't tell him, Like, by
- 24:29Speaker 5: the way, I had to text him and I said,
- 24:31Speaker 5: I just want to tell you. I never I never
- 24:33Speaker 5: brought it up to you because your daughter just for
- 24:35Speaker 5: my movie and I didn't want it to ever be
- 24:37Speaker 5: anything like that. And she crushed it, and he goes,
- 24:40Speaker 5: what she's in Puerto Rico. I go, okay, this has
- 24:42Speaker 5: gone a little too extreme. We're taking this a little
- 24:44Speaker 5: too extreme. He's like, well, she safe. I go slide right.
- 24:48Speaker 4: That's exactly why I didn't tell him, because I know
- 24:51Speaker 4: my dad. He would have sent ten security guards and
- 24:53Speaker 4: a helicopter and like snipers in the grass, like waiting
- 24:57Speaker 4: for me. So I just thought, okay, if it's a
- 24:59Speaker 4: I was there for one, two, three days, I said,
- 25:01Speaker 4: let's just get in and out.
- 25:02Speaker 1: He doesn't need to know I won't hurt him.
- 25:04Speaker 4: But it was such an amazing experience, Like I still
- 25:07Speaker 4: look back at photos and remember that time, and everyone
- 25:10Speaker 4: on the crew was so nice, and you were so
- 25:12Speaker 4: amazing and made me feel so comfortable.
- 25:14Speaker 3: It was just so much fun. It was. It was
- 25:16Speaker 3: really epic. And and that's crazy because we shot you.
- 25:19Speaker 5: I think like day was it three or four on
- 25:22Speaker 5: camera and then and then day seven we shut down.
- 25:24Speaker 3: The whole world shutdown, So it was like this weird.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Like I got lucky and out.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you didn't have to come back thirteen times where
- 25:31Speaker 3: we shut down.
- 25:32Speaker 5: But anyway, I just want to congratulate you because our
- 25:34Speaker 5: premiere is next week and the movie opened.
- 25:36Speaker 1: So exciting for you too. That is so cool your
- 25:38Speaker 1: directorial debut. It's a big deal for you, guys. Do
- 25:42Speaker 1: you have your dress?
- 25:44Speaker 4: Oh gosh, my mom and I have been on every
- 25:46Speaker 4: website we are searching.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I'm so underwhelmed by everything that's out there to worry.
- 25:51Speaker 4: I just feel like no one's buying. Everything looks the
- 25:53Speaker 4: same and I don't really know, Like, what is your vibe?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Lalla? What do you think? Do you want to dance?
- 25:59Speaker 4: No?
- 26:00Speaker 1: Over the premiere?
- 26:01Speaker 4: Oh?
- 26:02Speaker 1: I think in general was sweat pants. Have you seen
- 26:06Speaker 1: my Instagram?
- 26:07Speaker 2: It consists of my gray velvet headboard and me and bed.
- 26:11Speaker 1: That's that's all. I mean.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I found this dress that is like plunging neckline, an
- 26:20Speaker 2: epic shoulder pad. I forgot who makes it, but it's
- 26:25Speaker 2: like like a very The shade of blue is amazing
- 26:29Speaker 2: and it's all sequence beautiful. But it's the only thing
- 26:33Speaker 2: I could find.
- 26:34Speaker 4: You guys, No, I think that'll look so both your
- 26:36Speaker 4: eyes and your hair. And I think because I'm trying
- 26:38Speaker 4: to consider who's showing up, Like, Okay, I know she's
- 26:41Speaker 4: gonna have something great on.
- 26:42Speaker 1: There's Randall.
- 26:47Speaker 3: He gets a black fresh T shirt.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Randall is ironing his T shirt the time of like MG,
- 26:54Speaker 4: and like look exactly, I'm thinking, Okay, what do I do?
- 26:59Speaker 1: So we're gonna wing it. I'm gonna look for something
- 27:01Speaker 1: in my closet and we'll just see.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I think you're going to kill it no matter what
- 27:05Speaker 2: you're being steam stallone like.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Oh I need that, thank you.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I agree.
- 27:10Speaker 5: And by the way, you're gonna look great with whatever
- 27:12Speaker 5: you wear. I, by the way, want everybody to know
- 27:14Speaker 5: that I might upgrade my black T shirt.
- 27:16Speaker 3: To a suit.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Wow, I am going, I am going.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Wow. People are really shocked.
- 27:23Speaker 5: I am going to a store, a real store this
- 27:27Speaker 5: week on Thursday, the real one one where they sell suits,
- 27:30Speaker 5: and I'm going to try one on.
- 27:32Speaker 3: The last time I had a suit on was my
- 27:34Speaker 3: bar mitzvah at thirteen. So there you go.
- 27:37Speaker 1: That's such a why he's worn a suits.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Okay, irishman. But other than that, other than that, yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You gotta look good. You gotta look good. He does.
- 27:47Speaker 1: He needs a little help. We gotta up his swag.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Do you do style him?
- 27:51Speaker 4: No?
- 27:51Speaker 1: I have a hard enough time styling myself. By the
- 27:54Speaker 1: time I finished, I'm like, I don't have enough energy
- 27:56Speaker 1: for you.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I thought, I always going back to Pinterest because they
- 28:00Speaker 4: just have really good ideas. I know Pinterest is kind
- 28:02Speaker 4: of outdated, isn't very Everyone still diesy good because I
- 28:06Speaker 4: love it.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I think I think everyone loves it. No, it's a
- 28:10Speaker 1: great place for outfits go there. Yeah, this is my problem.
- 28:13Speaker 4: I put so much energy into like a new outfit idea,
- 28:16Speaker 4: and then I put on like this looks like ship,
- 28:17Speaker 4: So I re wear the same outfit that I've won
- 28:19Speaker 4: twelve hundred times same.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I can't it overwhelms me.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Sometimes I'll have like one really bomb look and then
- 28:24Speaker 2: I just rock it to the wheels outside and I'm like, well,
- 28:27Speaker 2: it was cute when I first wore it, and now
- 28:29Speaker 2: I never want to see it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Now it's tired.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I've worn the same little black dress on like twelve
- 28:34Speaker 4: different dates.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I was gonna say, I have one, and I just
- 28:38Speaker 1: why would you not a different guy?
- 28:39Speaker 5: Right?
- 28:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 28:40Speaker 1: Of course?
- 28:41Speaker 4: It's how horrible would be if like the guy that
- 28:43Speaker 4: I wanted else previously saw me wearing the same exact
- 28:46Speaker 4: off with this different guy.
- 28:47Speaker 1: That would just be a crazy content for the podcast.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I hope that happens, isn't it funny.
- 28:53Speaker 2: When you start a podcast or like a reality show,
- 28:55Speaker 2: you're like, I really wish that would happen.
- 28:57Speaker 1: That would make for great.
- 28:58Speaker 4: TV all the time, and my notesop like all the time, Oh,
- 29:02Speaker 4: just having to be I I write it down for
- 29:03Speaker 4: the show.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I love it.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:05Speaker 2: So you guys just celebrated your dad. Oh sorry sly birthday.
- 29:12Speaker 3: When you talk about Sly, you say Sly, there's no dad.
- 29:15Speaker 1: You could say dad, I could say whatever you want, laala.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But I like that though. Yeah, yeah, little song. That
- 29:25Speaker 1: was a good one. Good. What did you guys do
- 29:27Speaker 1: to celebrate? Well, seventy five, that's a big year for it.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's huge.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it was really hard because we wanted to do
- 29:34Speaker 4: something fun. My mom did a huge thing for his
- 29:36Speaker 4: sixtieth flew all of his friends out to Vegas, I
- 29:39Speaker 4: mean rented clubs, Like it was a whole thing.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Huge.
- 29:42Speaker 4: So she says, okay, seventy five, how can we top that?
- 29:45Speaker 4: But you know, a more tired version of like a
- 29:48Speaker 4: like a curfewder Okay, So so we go to Boa
- 29:53Speaker 4: and it was just like a big group of his
- 29:55Speaker 4: friends day. He's known since either college or since he
- 29:58Speaker 4: was twenty. It's just anything like that, so it's really
- 30:01Speaker 4: really intimate. And then we thought, okay, what's a fun
- 30:04Speaker 4: after party like that?
- 30:05Speaker 1: We can do that. He hasn't done that. It's normal
- 30:08Speaker 1: for somebody.
- 30:09Speaker 4: You can't take him to bootsy bellows, you can't take
- 30:11Speaker 4: them to catch or blow out.
- 30:16Speaker 1: And I don't want him just to go home.
- 30:17Speaker 4: And so we thought, okay, we know some people at
- 30:19Speaker 4: the laugh Actory, and he loves comedy.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Sometimes I feel like he should just do it.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Why don't we get a list of his favorite comedians,
- 30:27Speaker 4: send it out to our friends that kind of run
- 30:29Speaker 4: the laugh Actory and say, hey, just find whoever you
- 30:31Speaker 4: can and make a really really boss like bomb lineup.
- 30:35Speaker 1: And so they did it. We show up and my
- 30:37Speaker 1: dad was like, literally it was amazing.
- 30:40Speaker 4: By that point, we just said, okay, let's get these
- 30:42Speaker 4: guys as tipsy as possible so they have even more funds.
- 30:46Speaker 1: So it was amazing.
- 30:47Speaker 4: We got three booths for them at the comedy show
- 30:50Speaker 4: and they were just stray amazing.
- 30:52Speaker 1: It was a lot of fun.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Who were some of the comedians that you guys had
- 30:55Speaker 2: show up?
- 30:57Speaker 1: I don't know anyone. It was Oh my god, am
- 31:00Speaker 1: I so bad? Because the guys that Dad like Jeff Ross.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Jeff Ross is awesome, It's great.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I'm w am I forgetting the names right now, It's okay,
- 31:07Speaker 4: I'm Robinson.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Oh, pig Robinson.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Yeah he was a hot talk time machine.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Yeah no, I definitely know is great. But it was
- 31:15Speaker 1: a lot of fun. That sounds like totally like I
- 31:17Speaker 1: would dig that, and I am not seventy five. It's
- 31:20Speaker 1: a great day night.
- 31:21Speaker 2: It is.
- 31:21Speaker 1: We like to go there for day night.
- 31:22Speaker 3: It's a lot. I love comedy club, so does she.
- 31:25Speaker 5: And by the way, for your birthday in September, maybe
- 31:27Speaker 5: we should just do comedy club instead of Hawaii.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I'm not doing comedy club in Hawaii. That I was
- 31:34Speaker 2: the last comedy show I went to. I was ship faced,
- 31:39Speaker 2: so this was like three years ago, and I heckled.
- 31:43Speaker 4: No yeah, I got thrown out.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Did the comedian pick on you?
- 31:49Speaker 4: No?
- 31:50Speaker 5: No, he said some crazy ship But then the club
- 31:53Speaker 5: people came up to us and I asked us to leave.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Well, they really hate people that had go like there,
- 31:58Speaker 4: I will now should It's like they're performing.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Shut the fuck out. I would love to just say
- 32:04Speaker 1: something back, but then I get called out. You know what.
- 32:06Speaker 4: It would be really good at La La Sophia and
- 32:08Speaker 4: I have always wanted to do this. David Spade had
- 32:10Speaker 4: a segment on a show where he would be backstage
- 32:13Speaker 4: with a microphone and would have just random girls, guys, actors,
- 32:17Speaker 4: models that were not stand up comedians at all, have
- 32:20Speaker 4: an ear piece in and he would feed them and
- 32:23Speaker 4: they would have the lines and they would have no
- 32:25Speaker 4: idea what's going to come out, And you're in front
- 32:28Speaker 4: of a live audience and you're just saying it as
- 32:30Speaker 4: it's coming to you in real time, and the response
- 32:33Speaker 4: is so funny.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Wait, what is this show?
- 32:35Speaker 2: Well, it's like David Spade's talk show that on Comedy
- 32:39Speaker 2: Central or something like that.
- 32:40Speaker 4: You have this segment where he get like, what's her name?
- 32:43Speaker 4: Charlotte McKinney is Yeah, it would be like him and
- 32:46Speaker 4: Whitney Cummings backstage, like giving you that you should do.
- 32:50Speaker 1: That I would want to do. That would is funny
- 32:52Speaker 1: for the show. What David Spade?
- 32:59Speaker 2: When I first moved to he gave me a gift
- 33:01Speaker 2: card and shut so I bought sheets with it. No, yeah,
- 33:05Speaker 2: I always yeah, but back and beyond gift card.
- 33:07Speaker 1: That's kind of great.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I love that play, by the way, that's actually
- 33:10Speaker 4: a really good gift.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I always say, David Spade bought me my first LA sheets.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Oh I love it, epic. You know, it's a welcome present.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I love it. That's so funny.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Okay, So questions, So when you guys were coming up
- 33:29Speaker 5: in Los Angeles, did you always want to act?
- 33:31Speaker 3: Do you sustain? And Sofia? Did you all? Because I
- 33:33Speaker 3: know you started a book club. So I saw that.
- 33:37Speaker 3: I saw that.
- 33:38Speaker 5: So sheriff, tell us about the acting, tell us about
- 33:41Speaker 5: the book club, and I'm like, why these things kind
- 33:44Speaker 5: of happen.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I'll start with the acting thing. It's kind of a
- 33:46Speaker 1: funny story.
- 33:47Speaker 4: And growing up, I was painfully shy, like my mom
- 33:49Speaker 4: thought I was just a mute like I I. We
- 33:52Speaker 4: would do school plays every single year, and I kid
- 33:55Speaker 4: you not. Sofia was so good that she would be
- 33:57Speaker 4: the lead in every single place. So we projected her
- 34:00Speaker 4: to be the actor of the family.
- 34:02Speaker 1: She was a star.
- 34:03Speaker 4: She was fearless up there. I, however, was so bad
- 34:06Speaker 4: that they would cast me to sit on the right
- 34:09Speaker 4: side of the stage on the stairs the whole night
- 34:11Speaker 4: with the signs that'd say boo and ya for the audience,
- 34:14Speaker 4: and even I messed that up, but I'd put up
- 34:16Speaker 4: the wrong one and it was it was a mess.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So I never really wanted to act.
- 34:19Speaker 4: It's sort of just I thought, I don't like to
- 34:22Speaker 4: not try things, and I don't like to be bad
- 34:24Speaker 4: at things. So I just thought, Okay, let's why not
- 34:27Speaker 4: for fun, and then I kind of just fell in
- 34:28Speaker 4: love with it. It was really it was just and
- 34:30Speaker 4: it's cool having I also looked at it as a
- 34:33Speaker 4: really cool way to bond with my dad. He is
- 34:36Speaker 4: really obviously passionate about it, and he knows what he's
- 34:38Speaker 4: talking about, and it was just a cool way to
- 34:41Speaker 4: become closer and he gives me advice and tips and
- 34:44Speaker 4: what I learned when I'm with him, not even just
- 34:46Speaker 4: acting wise, it's more just life wise. I wouldn't have
- 34:49Speaker 4: gotten those, you know, experiences if I didn't.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Without without the same passion, right exactly.
- 34:54Speaker 5: It's funny because people don't know yet because I haven't
- 34:56Speaker 5: seen this movie, and I know there's note other things.
- 34:58Speaker 3: But that's so the opposite of how you come off,
- 35:01Speaker 3: because when.
- 35:01Speaker 5: You're on set, you're so strong with your conviction of
- 35:05Speaker 5: the character, and it's like when I was directing you,
- 35:08Speaker 5: you know, because I didn't know you at all, and
- 35:10Speaker 5: you came in the set and I was like, Okay,
- 35:11Speaker 5: you know, maybe she knows a little bit of that.
- 35:13Speaker 5: I don't know what she knows but you, but I
- 35:15Speaker 5: knew you crushed it in the audition, so I was like,
- 35:17Speaker 5: she nailed the character. And I remember when we were
- 35:19Speaker 5: going back and forth and I was giving direction, like
- 35:22Speaker 5: you just kind of kept making it your own, even
- 35:24Speaker 5: deeper than what you already had brought. So for you
- 35:26Speaker 5: to even say like, oh, I didn't really know I
- 35:28Speaker 5: was gonna act.
- 35:28Speaker 3: It's so it is.
- 35:31Speaker 4: She random confidence all of a sudden, And I think
- 35:34Speaker 4: it was that I don't give a shit attitude that
- 35:36Speaker 4: made it.
- 35:37Speaker 1: The most realist.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's a good opposite. Like I loved it,
- 35:41Speaker 4: but I thought too much and then I would overanalyze it,
- 35:44Speaker 4: and then when I would audition, I would just bomb
- 35:47Speaker 4: because when you do are in part of an industry
- 35:50Speaker 4: that is so insecure, you have to be honestly the
- 35:54Speaker 4: opposite in order to stand out. And I knew, Okay,
- 35:56Speaker 4: there's no way I can ever live up to this
- 35:58Speaker 4: like legacy.
- 35:59Speaker 1: That my dad has created.
- 36:01Speaker 4: There's no way I can ever I have a better
- 36:03Speaker 4: chance of going to the moon having the same success
- 36:06Speaker 4: that he's had an acting and.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I'm so aware of that.
- 36:08Speaker 4: So if I just go into it thinking I'm just
- 36:11Speaker 4: gonna fucking go for it, sorry, I don't know.
- 36:13Speaker 1: If I go I'm just gonna go for it.
- 36:15Speaker 4: I like throw spaghetti at the wall, seawood sticks and
- 36:18Speaker 4: if I get it, great, And if I don't get
- 36:20Speaker 4: the part, then I'm not.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I think that's gonna.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Cry about it.
- 36:22Speaker 1: That's an amazing way to look at thank you. So
- 36:24Speaker 1: it's it's more fun than anything.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Yeah, And I'll say, you know, we all kind of
- 36:29Speaker 5: like if we all overthink like legacy forget even I mean,
- 36:33Speaker 5: it's your dad, so it's obviously different.
- 36:35Speaker 3: But there are producers I looked up to their directors.
- 36:38Speaker 5: If I say to myself, when I took this leap
- 36:39Speaker 5: of faith to try to direct Midnight, and I look
- 36:41Speaker 5: at guys like Squirtsese, It's like I can't even mentally
- 36:45Speaker 5: get my head around it.
- 36:47Speaker 3: But I think that we have to just.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Go in, like you said, fearless and with our dreams,
- 36:50Speaker 5: and hopefully our dreams will take us where we want
- 36:53Speaker 5: to go, right, And I think.
- 36:55Speaker 4: That's kind of what started even the podcast and why
- 36:57Speaker 4: we love it so much, as like everything we do,
- 36:59Speaker 4: we just go in with zero filter, fully wrong, not
- 37:02Speaker 4: having any fear with it because we know look like
- 37:04Speaker 4: it's going up and down and it's not one hundred
- 37:06Speaker 4: percent all the time. But I think that mentality that
- 37:09Speaker 4: she's had and if we just do it naturally with
- 37:12Speaker 4: our own.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Personalities, it just works.
- 37:13Speaker 4: And so yeah, I actually look up to Sustain in
- 37:15Speaker 4: a lot of ways for that stuff.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Honestly, you are a really cute exist I do. They are.
- 37:21Speaker 4: They're very We're a good balance because she tells me like,
- 37:24Speaker 4: don't give a ship, and then if she it's.
- 37:26Speaker 1: A vice versus you should give a shit.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Maybe, Sofia tells me all the time, I wish I
- 37:30Speaker 4: was in your skin, and I'm like, I literally wish
- 37:32Speaker 4: I was you, Like.
- 37:33Speaker 1: We want to be each other all the time.
- 37:35Speaker 4: Well, really, I look up to her so much just
- 37:36Speaker 4: because not only are you my older sister, you do
- 37:39Speaker 4: things because you like them. I feel like a lot
- 37:41Speaker 4: of choices that I've made in my career so far
- 37:43Speaker 4: have been because managers, agents, people giving me the wrong
- 37:47Speaker 4: advice and saying what's good for them. Whereas like for example,
- 37:50Speaker 4: you started this book club because it's purely out of
- 37:52Speaker 4: passion and you're only doing things that you like to do,
- 37:55Speaker 4: whereas like I just do things sometimes because I feel
- 37:57Speaker 4: like I have to do them.
- 37:58Speaker 3: So tell us that, and I know I do.
- 38:01Speaker 5: And I think that the two of you, like, I
- 38:03Speaker 5: hope people see if people.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Were sitting here, I hope they can see. I hope
- 38:07Speaker 3: it comes through the mic like what we see.
- 38:10Speaker 5: No no, But like you guys have this really really
- 38:13Speaker 5: really sweet like real pure love for one were your.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Best friends, Like I really honest we always say this
- 38:19Speaker 4: because we had like a lot of friends come and go,
- 38:21Speaker 4: and we've had our lulls with people, but we always
- 38:23Speaker 4: just say, well, we have each other, We're fine. We
- 38:25Speaker 4: go on and now I honestly would go on and
- 38:26Speaker 4: people are like, are you.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Bringing your sister? Well, they just add her auto.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I don't say it's at it anywhere, but Sofia is like,
- 38:32Speaker 4: she's coming.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Whether either I go, it's like we're the.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I don't think anybody's complaining if either one of you
- 38:39Speaker 5: bring the other. But now, so I read on your
- 38:41Speaker 5: gram that you were doing this book club, which, by
- 38:43Speaker 5: the way, I knew nothing that you were this obsessed
- 38:45Speaker 5: with books, but I read the whole thing and it
- 38:47Speaker 5: was like, you have this real obsession and passion for reading.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Well, so I realized that since I've been on social media,
- 38:54Speaker 4: I've had a really really tough time finding my voice,
- 38:56Speaker 4: and I think that it's really easy, Like you are
- 38:58Speaker 4: amazing at makeup and so that is just like I mean,
- 39:00Speaker 4: and no, you are, and it really is authentic and
- 39:04Speaker 4: so people.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Follow you for that.
- 39:06Speaker 4: And then Susteine like she's just naturally fashioned forward even
- 39:09Speaker 4: with makeup, and people really look up to her like that.
- 39:12Speaker 4: I've always been kind of in this lull where I
- 39:14Speaker 4: don't really know who I am, and so I realized, Okay,
- 39:17Speaker 4: I feel like so many people are super authentic on Instagram,
- 39:20Speaker 4: like and they really show their passions, and that's what
- 39:22Speaker 4: makes someone successful, is like you truly love what you're doing.
- 39:26Speaker 4: And so I thought, okay, I've been the biggest book.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Worm since I was like in third grade.
- 39:31Speaker 4: I would read you can have sustain. I'd probably read
- 39:33Speaker 4: over five hundred books, and.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I read she reads so fast I read my brain
- 39:36Speaker 1: can't comprehend works. Yea, yeah, I'll read a whole chapter
- 39:40Speaker 1: and I'm like what the fuck did I just read?
- 39:41Speaker 1: I have literally stammer.
- 39:44Speaker 3: You love reading, you love.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Reading, but reading well, no, I said, I'm scared to
- 39:48Speaker 4: sign up for your book club because if we talk
- 39:50Speaker 4: about it next week ago, I'm gonna.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Forget everything you've read. So I just decided.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I was like, I love things that involve health with
- 39:56Speaker 4: like mentally, and I also love things physically healthy, and
- 39:59Speaker 4: so I was like, Okay, the this is a really
- 40:00Speaker 4: positive platform. I can encourage people to read books, and
- 40:03Speaker 4: maybe I can teach people how to love it or
- 40:06Speaker 4: how to read faster, how to find what their niche is,
- 40:10Speaker 4: because like everyone has.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Their own preference. That scene loves murder mystery and so
- 40:13Speaker 1: I've given it and neurotica.
- 40:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, and I read all that, so I'm quarantines
- 40:20Speaker 4: read hard. But I also like, you just learned so
- 40:25Speaker 4: much from books, And as I get older, I realized
- 40:27Speaker 4: the books I've read it relates to so many people.
- 40:29Speaker 4: If I've said I've read a book, you can have
- 40:31Speaker 4: a full blown conversation.
- 40:32Speaker 1: With someone and you sound so much smarter when you
- 40:34Speaker 1: just say, like, I've read this book.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Even if you've read one book in your life, You're
- 40:36Speaker 4: like whoa And I know totally. So I just I
- 40:39Speaker 4: realized I want to build this community and I truly
- 40:42Speaker 4: truly love books. And I mean whether that turns into
- 40:45Speaker 4: something else, like I have a ton of ideas, but.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I think it gives people a sense of community. You know,
- 40:50Speaker 2: they feel like they have a direct connection with you.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Because you, you.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Know, recommended this book and you guys are going to
- 40:56Speaker 2: have a conversation about it, and you know, wherever they
- 40:58Speaker 2: are in the world and they follow you, you they
- 41:00Speaker 2: go pick up the book and it gives them that
- 41:02Speaker 2: intimate time with you exactly.
- 41:04Speaker 4: And it also gives me the opportunity since I think
- 41:06Speaker 4: a lot of our instagram. Instagram is kind of intimidating,
- 41:08Speaker 4: and people have always said that to us, where they're like,
- 41:10Speaker 4: you have like one point fime and all your photos
- 41:12Speaker 4: like super pretty. Okay, no it happens, but they say
- 41:16Speaker 4: we look very angry angry and.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Also pictures, well, they said a lot of people.
- 41:21Speaker 4: We met this manager the other day and the first
- 41:22Speaker 4: thing you said to us was I was honestly expecting
- 41:25Speaker 4: you guys to be super bitchy because of the way
- 41:28Speaker 4: your Instagram looks, And I go, you're pop it's because.
- 41:31Speaker 1: No talk on it.
- 41:32Speaker 4: The only thing you can figure out your smile also,
- 41:34Speaker 4: so I've no meaning there, and I know my angle.
- 41:37Speaker 1: It's with a sharp jawline a little bit. It's just
- 41:41Speaker 1: this side of my face. It's like, just because we
- 41:42Speaker 1: know how to smile, it doesn't mean we're mean. So
- 41:46Speaker 1: I use this.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Book but also as a way for me to just
- 41:48Speaker 4: be like my kind of vulnerable normal sun. So I
- 41:51Speaker 4: actually write captions on and saying like how are you
- 41:53Speaker 4: feeling today? Like I'm feeling okay, Like I want to
- 41:55Speaker 4: build that really really.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Close bond with people, and so hopefully I can do that.
- 41:59Speaker 3: I think it's great.
- 42:00Speaker 5: I know, I think it's great because I think, like
- 42:02Speaker 5: you said, it's such a social media world. It's such
- 42:04Speaker 5: a like everything's like portrayed how we want it to look.
- 42:07Speaker 5: And I feel like a book club brings people back
- 42:09Speaker 5: to having to interact. You're reading, your creating, and then
- 42:14Speaker 5: you're sharing your take on a book. Everybody's take on
- 42:17Speaker 5: a book is different, and I think that I feel
- 42:19Speaker 5: like we're getting away from books so quickly your generation.
- 42:23Speaker 5: You know, not that people aren't reading, but I'm saying
- 42:26Speaker 5: people are watching five second videos. Tiktoks yea more than
- 42:31Speaker 5: they're doing anything else. And this is a really neat
- 42:33Speaker 5: way to bring people back exactly, just.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Like take time for yourself where you're not comparing and
- 42:38Speaker 4: you're not looking at everyone around you, and just sit
- 42:40Speaker 4: down with yourself and read and something that you actually
- 42:42Speaker 4: enjoy that your mind can go somewhere else and be creative.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yes, I love that because the only time my mind
- 42:48Speaker 2: is clear is when I'm like in the bathtub with
- 42:50Speaker 2: a book, not an iPad with the book on that
- 42:52Speaker 2: I had Exactly. I want to like go to the
- 42:54Speaker 2: Barnes and Noble and hold it and flip the page exactly.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Do you prefer that too? Totally?
- 42:59Speaker 4: I mean when I was, the reason why I fell
- 43:00Speaker 4: in love was I was super bullied, and so what
- 43:02Speaker 4: I would do is if I didn't have anyone to
- 43:04Speaker 4: sit with that lunch, I just went to the library.
- 43:06Speaker 4: And I didn't like love books at the time, so
- 43:07Speaker 4: I just for pulling. I'm like, Okay, that's the only
- 43:09Speaker 4: place that you can be alone. It's normal, right.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And just looking for books like why would she be
- 43:15Speaker 1: talking now? I'm just like I can go to lunch
- 43:17Speaker 1: and read by myself. I am literally by.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Myself mostly not I mean, she's always with me now,
- 43:21Speaker 4: but you like escape me. No, I don't want you too,
- 43:25Speaker 4: but it's fun. I think that we're slowly starting to
- 43:27Speaker 4: get our own voices and this is like one of mine,
- 43:29Speaker 4: and Sustine has hers with acting, and you guys have yours,
- 43:32Speaker 4: And I think that's what's just really important when you're
- 43:34Speaker 4: on social media.
- 43:35Speaker 1: To do that, I have to know what is your
- 43:36Speaker 1: Do you have a favorite book?
- 43:38Speaker 4: Yes?
- 43:38Speaker 1: I do, because they give them la I'm just kidding.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, I know. I love that. I honestly
- 43:45Speaker 1: that takes so many guts like to do that. I'm
- 43:48Speaker 1: totally fucking with you. No, I just had to get
- 43:50Speaker 1: the plug on my podcast do it.
- 43:52Speaker 4: But I actually give you so much credit for that
- 43:54Speaker 4: because being that vulnerable in like a book, I just
- 43:58Speaker 4: and you know, like people go in and you can,
- 44:00Speaker 4: I mean, such a hate filled world to put yourself
- 44:03Speaker 4: out there knowing that you could get just any sort
- 44:06Speaker 4: of response from strangers, Like that's a lot. There's so
- 44:08Speaker 4: much content out there that people know when someone's being fake.
- 44:11Speaker 4: So if you're writing something, you're putting something out there,
- 44:13Speaker 4: you're trying to make it seem real. They're going to
- 44:15Speaker 4: see through the bullshit. And so you writing a book
- 44:18Speaker 4: and it has to be about you.
- 44:20Speaker 1: You have to be.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Under person honest because people are going to know if
- 44:22Speaker 4: you're not telling the truth and you're being fully honest
- 44:24Speaker 4: and yeah, and it's a lot of guts.
- 44:28Speaker 2: So I appreciate that so much. I really do want
- 44:30Speaker 2: to know if you have a favorite book.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Oh it's a Pitcher of Dory and Gray. Okay, you
- 44:34Speaker 1: have a while to me because well, I never read that.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Oh of course it's a classic.
- 44:41Speaker 4: But I feel like that's the most annoying thing I
- 44:43Speaker 4: feel like when your classics.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I do.
- 44:45Speaker 4: But then I also love like The Silent Patient, but
- 44:47Speaker 4: everyone reads If you love like murder mystery.
- 44:49Speaker 2: There that's where I tend to go to the ones
- 44:53Speaker 2: that are all about murder, reading the Murder Room.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Right now, I just read Talking with serial Killers, like
- 44:59Speaker 4: that's my job.
- 45:00Speaker 6: Okay, maybe you should say go to these are coming.
- 45:03Speaker 6: I feel like murders read their count of Monte Cristo.
- 45:07Speaker 6: She's like, it's like eight thousand pages long. But your
- 45:10Speaker 6: next book is The Silent Patient.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I love you would love The Silent Patient.
- 45:14Speaker 5: On it yeah, and tell me how the book club works.
- 45:16Speaker 5: So how are you guys?
- 45:18Speaker 4: Honestly, I think it's just I try to make it
- 45:20Speaker 4: as easy as possible.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Just to go to the Gram.
- 45:23Speaker 4: It's called Favorite book Club, and every day I'll be
- 45:26Speaker 4: posting just like a book.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm reading reviews.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Maybe I'll have conversations after I finish the book and
- 45:30Speaker 4: go live and that's great.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah, And I also want.
- 45:32Speaker 4: To do a like reader of the month, like a
- 45:34Speaker 4: favorite of the month, And so I have my followers
- 45:37Speaker 4: come in they talk about like their favorite book, like
- 45:39Speaker 4: what their favorite smell is, if it's coffee in the morres,
- 45:41Speaker 4: just like weird questions, just so that everyone can see,
- 45:44Speaker 4: like I notice you and you notice me, and we
- 45:46Speaker 4: all notice each other, and so it doesn't feel like
- 45:48Speaker 4: it's so separate from a screen and a face.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, yeah, well okay so everybody. So, so we're
- 45:55Speaker 5: running out of time, so let's go over it one
