- 0:00Speaker 1: Four Finger Discounted.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Cities. Welcome to four Finger discount With this week, we're
- 0:19Speaker 2: going to be wrapping up season twenty of The Simpsons
- 0:21Speaker 2: Andando and I am guy.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yes, we are going from regular definition to high standard
- 0:27Speaker 1: definition to high definition.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes we say that right. I actually noticed it when
- 0:31Speaker 2: I was watching, and I noticed when the TV falls
- 0:34Speaker 2: off the wall, right, it's got the red, white and
- 0:36Speaker 2: yellow cables. Ah, so it's not an HDTV. Did we
- 0:40Speaker 2: have HDMI cables in two thousand and nine whenever this
- 0:42Speaker 2: season was?
- 0:43Speaker 1: I get the feeling that probably they did have those
- 0:45Speaker 1: in some kind of transitional period. Yeah, I mean they're
- 0:49Speaker 1: still around. I've still got bungles of the red, yellow
- 0:53Speaker 1: and white wires or whatever sort of lurking around the house.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm not even going to use these again.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But then I've got that man thing of like, don't
- 0:59Speaker 1: throw it out.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I need it. I keep so many cables and I'll
- 1:02Speaker 2: have three of them the draw and I go, never
- 1:03Speaker 2: have too many. Oh yeah, I'll put another one in there.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Have you ever seen that video?
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's clearly a father and son or something, and you
- 1:11Speaker 1: know the son is putting.
- 1:11Speaker 2: A bed together.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's like, oh, if only we had a piece of
- 1:14Speaker 1: wood that was kind of diagonal. It has to be
- 1:17Speaker 1: like four inches by three inches, and the dad just
- 1:18Speaker 1: go runs down ship rummsy boxes.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Finally got it. They are so happy when it's like,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I've been given this thing for twenty year, I've had
- 1:27Speaker 2: a need for it exactly. Yeah, so we're we're hoarders
- 1:30Speaker 2: in that regard. But as long as the fits in
- 1:33Speaker 2: the one draw though out of the way before in.
- 1:36Speaker 1: A draw in a box underneath the desk or something
- 1:39Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, no, I'd never I hadn't really sort
- 1:41Speaker 1: of paid attention to the fact that they had the
- 1:43Speaker 1: wires coming off the HDTV so to speak.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I got the feeling that before we all went with
- 1:49Speaker 2: the cable, it's full HD that requires the HD MY cables.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It could be full HD resolution of the ninety because
- 1:55Speaker 2: because HD was just it's just seven twenty, isn't it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It was my understanding when we started this podcast that
- 2:00Speaker 2: there will be no science. I think it's just seven
- 2:02Speaker 2: to twenty P and then ten ADPs. Maybe that requires
- 2:04Speaker 2: the HDMO cable. Either way, the way it looks a
- 2:07Speaker 2: lot sharper it does, indeed. Yeah, And I think the
- 2:09Speaker 2: Simpsons does improve. I think it needed to upgrade the
- 2:14Speaker 2: quality of the video the animation as well. I think
- 2:16Speaker 2: people saw us up they go, no, it's not the
- 2:19Speaker 2: same as the old animation, and blah blah blah, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: what we fear change, we do fear change. And I
- 2:24Speaker 2: was firmly in that category for a long time. And
- 2:26Speaker 2: then I had kids and I put the old ones on,
- 2:29Speaker 2: and the kids go, why these ones don't look as
- 2:31Speaker 2: good as the other ones? And I go, you're right,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know what, as nostalgic as I am for these
- 2:36Speaker 2: classic animations, and it's great, and the idea was hand drawn.
- 2:39Speaker 2: It's classic cartoon's classic animation. The HD Simpsons does look better.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, much easier on the eye.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Even someone like me who grew up on the vintage
- 2:48Speaker 1: stuff will has a real appreciation for classic Simpsons.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'll look at some of the old episodes and go like,
- 2:53Speaker 1: do I need to wipe my glasses or something, because
- 2:55Speaker 1: they seem sort of fuzzy and out of focus and
- 2:58Speaker 1: as we say, not as sharp.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think season four, maybe season four, maybe season five,
- 3:03Speaker 2: whether their eyes seemed too big for the entire season. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 2: I think personally, my favorite design of the Simpsons is
- 3:09Speaker 2: season seven eight ish. It's my favorite ear of the
- 3:11Speaker 2: Simpsons as well. I just think that just they found
- 3:13Speaker 2: the right balance of cartoonish but also just realism, and
- 3:16Speaker 2: just the animation. It's clean, it's nice, it's tidy, and
- 3:19Speaker 2: then anything beforehand, it's it's good, but it's it's still time.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, And a lot of people won't watch the
- 3:26Speaker 2: first season because I think the animation is just terrible,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and I'm not in that regal. If the content is good,
- 3:32Speaker 2: it's good, right. I'm sure there's many good episodes in
- 3:34Speaker 2: that first season of the Simpsons, but it's just a thing.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Now if you look at the HD Simpsons, it does
- 3:39Speaker 2: look better. Yeah, oh yeah. I would be intrigued to
- 3:42Speaker 2: see and I know people have said this is blasphemy.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I would be intrigued to see some of the classic
- 3:47Speaker 2: era episodes like remastered and or redrawn in HD. People
- 3:52Speaker 2: are saying, you can't do that, you wouldn't never do that,
- 3:54Speaker 2: it's terrible. I'd just be in greaged to see what
- 3:56Speaker 2: it would look like.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Well, provided you didn't absolutely throw out the original like okay,
- 4:01Speaker 1: whether they're in the bin or they've been deleted from
- 4:03Speaker 1: the hard Drivers.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I'm like, no, no, no, no, may get a fun option on
- 4:06Speaker 2: the DVD or something, experiment. Yeah, exactly right. Yeah. And
- 4:10Speaker 2: they did do it in the Treuse of Horror simpson
- 4:12Speaker 2: Land that Matt Salmon wrote, where they were at the
- 4:15Speaker 2: Simpsons World at the theme park, and it was they
- 4:18Speaker 2: redrew Mars the monorail a little moment from that in
- 4:21Speaker 2: the HD, and it looked cool. It was weird to
- 4:24Speaker 2: take it in because it sounds the same but it
- 4:26Speaker 2: looks different. Well. Yeah, as we often say about you know,
- 4:29Speaker 2: say the Star Wars special istions, it's like someone doodling
- 4:31Speaker 2: on your dreams. Yeah, because you're all so used to well,
- 4:34Speaker 2: this is the way that story goes, so this is
- 4:36Speaker 2: the way it looks, and this is the way it sounds.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And if you sharpen it up audio wise, visual wise,
- 4:41Speaker 2: you might be going, wait a minute, no, no, no, yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 2: you feel a bit of cognitive dissonance in your in
- 4:46Speaker 2: your head and in your heart. No, I'd be all
- 4:48Speaker 2: for them doing that, yeah, provided you still kept the
- 4:51Speaker 2: originals or pick five classics or something. Margress the monorail.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I don't really think it's an interesting thing. I think
- 4:57Speaker 2: it's a really good idea. Even the first episode, I'd
- 5:00Speaker 2: love to see Shorts is roasting on open fire in HD. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 2: i'd love to see them do that. And maybe because
- 5:05Speaker 2: you've got the wide screen, you can add in visual
- 5:07Speaker 2: gags in the background things, making it a making a
- 5:09Speaker 2: modern version of the original.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Absolutely, yeah, No, I honestly think they should do it.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I think it'd be a really good gesture to veteran
- 5:16Speaker 1: Simpsons fans. And you know, it's bridging the gap between
- 5:18Speaker 1: young and the young, the old, the older than you.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I think I'm just going through a face
- 5:22Speaker 2: at the moment where I'm realizing. It was about a
- 5:25Speaker 2: month ago I realized I'm getting really out of touch
- 5:27Speaker 2: with what young people enjoy. I realized I'm getting to
- 5:30Speaker 2: that stage where I'm getting I'm older now, right, And
- 5:33Speaker 2: the kids were asking they want to watch this show
- 5:34Speaker 2: called K Pop Demon Hunters, and I was like on Netflix, yah,
- 5:37Speaker 2: and I'm like, you're not watching that shit, no, commit
- 5:40Speaker 2: listen to the songs BLA. I'm like no, no, no,
- 5:41Speaker 2: you're fucking putting this stuff on. And then I was like,
- 5:44Speaker 2: yesterday in the car went can we listen to it please?
- 5:46Speaker 2: And I was like whatever, and I put it on.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I didn't like it, but I was like, you know what,
- 5:50Speaker 2: it's important to be on the pulse and know what
- 5:53Speaker 2: kids are enjoying. Well, here's the thing.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We talk about popular culture on our very shows and
- 5:57Speaker 1: the Full Finger Disco Network. It's The Simpsons, South all
- 6:00Speaker 1: that kind of stuff.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Now these shows are still.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Going and they're still appealing to well, they're appealing to
- 6:05Speaker 1: current audiences young, yes, all that kind of stuff. So yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I mean as much as we're kind of like, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 1: it was great back in the nineties or the two
- 6:11Speaker 1: thousands or whatever, it's like, eventually we're going to have
- 6:14Speaker 1: to catch up to stuff that was happening in the
- 6:16Speaker 1: twenty tens or the twenty twenties or whatever. So yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 1: it's important to as difficult as it may be for
- 6:21Speaker 1: old gentlemen like myself getting older, there's younger people Like
- 6:26Speaker 1: I said, no, no, you do have to keep your
- 6:27Speaker 1: finger on the pulse.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It's tough though, it really is. Yeah. Apparently ca Pop
- 6:31Speaker 2: Demon I was just really good. I looked it up
- 6:33Speaker 2: and it said not suitable for kids under ten because
- 6:35Speaker 2: there's a lot of death and that kind of stuff,
- 6:37Speaker 2: And I think it's I think it's more for adolescens. Yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 2: but it's well, all the kids are talking about the moment,
- 6:42Speaker 2: but you didn't like the song, apparently. I was listening
- 6:44Speaker 2: to some other podcasts were telling the song's actually kind
- 6:46Speaker 2: of bangers. I listened to a really good K pop songs,
- 6:48Speaker 2: so yeah, I'm not into that, and I'm just like
- 6:51Speaker 2: one song just blended into the other and I was like,
- 6:54Speaker 2: this just feels it's just not my style. But I'm like, okay,
- 6:57Speaker 2: so this is what the kids are listening to. Now.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I need to make sure I'm aware. So I don't
- 7:01Speaker 2: want to be that uncool dad. I don't want to
- 7:02Speaker 2: be that guys, you're not listening to new stuff, listen
- 7:05Speaker 2: to the stuff from the nineties. You've talked about it
- 7:07Speaker 2: before in the past, where it's important that you don't
- 7:10Speaker 2: just make your kids listen and watch the stuff from
- 7:12Speaker 2: your childhood, because then they will become unpopular because like, no,
- 7:16Speaker 2: we're into this shit, that's what this is today, and
- 7:18Speaker 2: that they'll they'll get left behind. Yeah, yeah, there's I've
- 7:20Speaker 2: mentioned it many times. The story on the Onion, that's
- 7:23Speaker 2: what you're talking about. It.
- 7:24Speaker 1: It's like a parent raise his child and pop culture
- 7:26Speaker 1: die that will make child immediately unpopular. Yes, yeah, you've
- 7:29Speaker 1: got the parents sort of thrusting. I think it's talking
- 7:31Speaker 1: heads remain in lives, like listen to this, No.
- 7:34Speaker 2: No, let them enjoy modern stuff. But also I think
- 7:37Speaker 2: if you can, if you if your kids can be
- 7:40Speaker 2: aware of what's popular now and also understand and enjoy
- 7:42Speaker 2: stuff in the past, that's a great blend.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I mean, if you're someone who wants to raise your
- 7:48Speaker 1: kids in a cultural or artistic sort of environment, yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you've got to show on the through line. It's like, okay,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you're like k pop Demon Hunters. I'm guessing it might
- 7:57Speaker 1: have been inspired by something. Oh you know, there's a
- 7:59Speaker 1: song from k pop Demon Huns that sounds a bit
- 8:01Speaker 1: like sugar Rush from Recke at Ralph for instance. Maybe
- 8:05Speaker 1: listen to that, and then you know what, they might
- 8:07Speaker 1: have a link to something from the nineties or the
- 8:09Speaker 1: eighties or whatever. And yes, yeah, you're not doing it
- 8:13Speaker 1: as homework, but you're saying this was influenced by this,
- 8:15Speaker 1: that influences that influences this. It's all part of a
- 8:17Speaker 1: continuum and it's just an expansion of their education. I
- 8:22Speaker 1: think that's important. Yeah, and just like any back to
- 8:24Speaker 1: the Simpsons. When people say modern Simpsons are crap, it's like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: you know, like, yes, it's not in the same quality,
- 8:28Speaker 1: But I am telling you, I put my kids in
- 8:30Speaker 1: front of that TV. They'll watch classic Simpsons, they love it.
- 8:32Speaker 1: But they will also sit there and just binge wash
- 8:35Speaker 1: modern Simpsons and they enjoy that as well. You know,
- 8:37Speaker 1: So just be aware, don't be an old fight duddy
- 8:40Speaker 1: shaking your fist at the cloud.
- 8:41Speaker 2: HD. Simpsons is not might be made for you, but
- 8:44Speaker 2: it's made for somebody, and it's my kids generation.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I get the feeling that when The Simpsons actually made
- 8:49Speaker 1: the joke about old man yells at cloud they weren't
- 8:51Speaker 1: endorsing yelling at clouds kind of like, yeah, this is
- 8:55Speaker 1: what you do when you get sort of stuck in
- 8:57Speaker 1: your way.
- 8:57Speaker 2: That's what you look like.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You do something silly like get out of that. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't do it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: No, don't do it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Indeed, I'm not saying that someone of my age or
- 9:07Speaker 1: even if your vines to go around saying whoa that
- 9:10Speaker 1: was fire, because well, don't do that. Yeah, But at
- 9:12Speaker 1: the same time, be yeah, open the fact that, like
- 9:15Speaker 1: there may be some good stuff out there. Now this
- 9:17Speaker 1: season here, I'm not gonna lie. This was the hardest
- 9:19Speaker 1: for me to pick a top five, not because there
- 9:22Speaker 1: were so many good ones, because I struggled to remember
- 9:25Speaker 1: a lot of the early ones. I think because we've
- 9:27Speaker 1: dragged this season out a bit more with sort of
- 9:29Speaker 1: reviews and that kind of thing. So it's been a
- 9:31Speaker 1: long top those first couple of four or five episodes,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I went, what the hell are they about?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Again? So I had to go back, and when I
- 9:36Speaker 2: went through my notes, I went, oh, yeah, I really
- 9:38Speaker 2: enjoyed that one, really enjoyed that one. So I picked
- 9:40Speaker 2: my top five. It's going to be in no particular order. Likewise, yes,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and I'm gonna try and guess your top five now.
- 9:45Speaker 2: So let me just get up the Simpsons season twenty.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I haven't done it yet. Simpson's Season twenty A quick
- 9:49Speaker 2: skim through. I reckon your top five will be in
- 9:53Speaker 2: no particular order. I reckon you'll have sex pires and
- 9:55Speaker 2: idiot scrapes, so treoso horror is left out. Yes, may
- 10:00Speaker 2: be dangerous curves, mypods and boomsticks. How the test was one,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and I'm gonna say Waverly Hills nine a two to
- 10:09Speaker 2: one do Okay, go what do you think my top five?
- 10:13Speaker 1: My five I've got down for you again, sex pis
- 10:17Speaker 1: and idiot scrapes. How the test was one in the
- 10:20Speaker 1: name of the Grandfather any teeny maya mo and coming
- 10:24Speaker 1: to Homemerica. How many did I get it for you?
- 10:26Speaker 2: You'll find out at the end of the episode. We
- 10:31Speaker 2: gotta go through it. I guess we do, yes, So
- 10:33Speaker 2: start with one of yours, one of your top five.
- 10:37Speaker 1: One of my top five is Homer and Lisa Exchange
- 10:41Speaker 1: cross Words.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Now I usually had that in my five, but you
- 10:45Speaker 2: threw one out there just then to me, and I
- 10:46Speaker 2: want you know what, I'm going to swap home around
- 10:48Speaker 2: this exchange Crosswords and put in one of the ones
- 10:50Speaker 2: that you just said. So you tell me what you
- 10:51Speaker 2: liked about Homer on Leasa Exchange cross Words, and I'll
- 10:54Speaker 2: tell you. Well, for me, it was mainly what stuck
- 10:56Speaker 2: at was I love gildgunders and being good at something
- 10:59Speaker 2: and having a heel. That was cool.
- 11:01Speaker 1: That is good, You're right, mainly just because I'm a
- 11:03Speaker 1: word nerd. Yeah, I like crosswords. I like the fact
- 11:05Speaker 1: that they sort of gave a shout out to the
- 11:07Speaker 1: likes of Will Shorts.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And good guest stars at the end.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's I won't say that it's
- 11:12Speaker 1: necessarily what you expect from the Simpsons, but sometimes it's good.
- 11:15Speaker 1: When it's always great. When hey we got the star
- 11:18Speaker 1: de Zure sort of to go back to what we
- 11:20Speaker 1: were talking about, Oh we have Billy Eilish on board,
- 11:22Speaker 1: it's like, Wow, you still got a fair bit of cloud.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You've still got a fair bit of relevance in that
- 11:27Speaker 1: regard that someone like one of the biggest stars in
- 11:29Speaker 1: the world, one of the biggest pop stars in the world,
- 11:31Speaker 1: is going to go, yeah, I'll be part of the Simpsons, absolutely,
- 11:33Speaker 1: But when you can ye get in names who are
- 11:37Speaker 1: rock stars among a certain type of person like Will.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Shorts, I like mel Reels. Yeah, that's pretty great that
- 11:44Speaker 2: you want to do it that way.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So I think it was just Yeah, mainly, I like
- 11:47Speaker 1: what you said about Gil having a bit of a
- 11:50Speaker 1: heel turn as well. I mean, there's only so long
- 11:52Speaker 1: that a character can be a punching bag. You know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: you need a little bit of a worm turn moment,
- 11:58Speaker 1: even if they even if that turn is a heel turn.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I think he needed this for me because I didn't
- 12:02Speaker 2: like him after Kill Gil volume one and two. There
- 12:05Speaker 2: was that absolutely, Yeah, I know he was a bit
- 12:06Speaker 2: of a well a moocher, a moocher and a prick. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and willingly being a mucher as well. It wasn't just
- 12:13Speaker 2: he was pathetic and he need he was down and
- 12:14Speaker 2: his luck. It was Oh no, he's just being a moocher. Yeah,
- 12:17Speaker 2: that's right, Yeah, taking advantage, taking advantage. Yeah, you think
- 12:20Speaker 2: that after the life that he's lived and the losses
- 12:22Speaker 2: that he's had to be like h but then maybe
- 12:25Speaker 2: after that situation is probably oh okay, no, he maybe
- 12:27Speaker 2: he would take advantage. Maybe that would sort of poison him.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Look, it was again it was it sort of ran
- 12:32Speaker 1: along familiar tracks, the whole exchange cross words thing with
- 12:35Speaker 1: the Homer release and not quite understanding each other.
- 12:38Speaker 2: But by the ends, oh yeah they at the end
- 12:41Speaker 2: didn't that's right. Yeah, yeah, which was with the money
- 12:43Speaker 2: he could he bet against her, that's right, which is.
- 12:45Speaker 1: A nice enough touch. It's sort of Laura diminishing returns
- 12:49Speaker 1: in some ways, like how many times can he go
- 12:50Speaker 1: back to this particular daughter? Yeah, daddy daughter kind of done.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It was sick of margin Homer being annoyed with each other.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Let's go to lease to one another but no, And
- 13:00Speaker 1: also had an appearance by a guy that I really like,
- 13:03Speaker 1: Scott Thompson from the Canadian comedy troupe Kids in the Hall,
- 13:07Speaker 1: So anytime he shows up pretty happy about that. So yeah, look,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I thought it was a kind of a fun episode.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I know we're not doing this in a particular order,
- 13:14Speaker 1: but it's probably sort of down the list of of
- 13:16Speaker 1: my top five, but it was one that I liked.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Was the one that I've replaced it with. I'm going
- 13:19Speaker 2: to throw in any teeny Mo. Yeah. I feel like
- 13:22Speaker 2: Moe is probably one of the best handled characters in
- 13:24Speaker 2: modern seasons or in the more modern seasons that we've
- 13:27Speaker 2: done so far. Yeah, I think they give him real
- 13:30Speaker 2: empathy for others. He's more considerate when he needs to be.
- 13:34Speaker 2: He still has classic Mo moments, but I think overall,
- 13:36Speaker 2: like this one. In particular, this was Mo being a
- 13:39Speaker 2: genuinely good person and he wanted to be better, and
- 13:42Speaker 2: he made the effort to not be make the obvious
- 13:48Speaker 2: jokes because of Maya's height and whatnot, because she was
- 13:50Speaker 2: a little person, and even when he knew she was
- 13:52Speaker 2: a little person, that's like, you know what, this person
- 13:54Speaker 2: is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.
- 13:56Speaker 2: She's a great person. She loves me, and the fact
- 13:59Speaker 2: that she loves me, I'm just only give her all
- 14:01Speaker 2: of me as well in return.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Absolutely, it goes to what we were saying about Gill
- 14:04Speaker 1: as well. There's only so long a character can be
- 14:07Speaker 1: the punching bag or the whipping boy. You've got to
- 14:09Speaker 1: give him a win every once in a while, or
- 14:11Speaker 1: you've got to show a little bit more about him now.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I think for Mo over the course of the show
- 14:15Speaker 1: up to this season and maybe beyond, it's like, oh, well,
- 14:19Speaker 1: he's wildly inappropriate, or he's just self loathing or whatever,
- 14:24Speaker 1: basically the butt of the joke, gradually gradually gradually throughout
- 14:28Speaker 1: the course of the show, this showing oh no, look,
- 14:30Speaker 1: he's good at heart, even though it takes a while
- 14:34Speaker 1: for that to sort of reach the surface, and he
- 14:35Speaker 1: will merely sort of trip himself up or be his
- 14:38Speaker 1: own worst enemy. I think this was a really good
- 14:40Speaker 1: episode in terms of like showing the best parts of himself,
- 14:44Speaker 1: all the really good parts of himself, and yeah, allowing
- 14:47Speaker 1: those to outweigh what he does wrong. Either consciously or unconsciously,
- 14:52Speaker 1: it's on my list as well.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah for me. You know, when he makes the jokes
- 14:55Speaker 2: at her expense, when I think it's as we proposed
- 14:58Speaker 2: to her, maybe I'm not too sure he's at her place.
- 15:01Speaker 2: That wasn't him going, I'll finally can make these jokes.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He was like, Oh, okay, we're cool. Now we can
- 15:05Speaker 2: make these jokes. It's not like he's been sitting on
- 15:07Speaker 2: it and wanting to do it. No, No, this is
- 15:08Speaker 2: something that we talked about. When we talk about it
- 15:10Speaker 2: was over the fact that you know, when you reach
- 15:12Speaker 2: a stage of comfort and confidence with so we can
- 15:14Speaker 2: far in front of each other now, oh yeah, that's it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the first kiss, first fart thing. Yeah, But that
- 15:20Speaker 1: you can take the piss out of one another, yeah,
- 15:22Speaker 1: and do it in ways is like, I know this
- 15:24Speaker 1: is your sensitive spot, but you should be confident enough
- 15:27Speaker 1: with me as I am confident enough with you and
- 15:28Speaker 1: comfortable enough with you. That's like I'll kneel your insecurities
- 15:31Speaker 1: a little bit. But you can do the same to
- 15:33Speaker 1: me again because you know that if anyone else ever
- 15:37Speaker 1: did this to you, I'd break their neck because exactly.
- 15:40Speaker 2: But if he's not when someone mocks where you're from
- 15:42Speaker 2: or whatever. It's like, I can mock one from you're
- 15:44Speaker 2: not from, you can from man, we can we can
- 15:47Speaker 2: talk shit. Yeah you say nothing. Yeah. But in that
- 15:50Speaker 2: moment though, he did go a little bit too hard.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But that's just MO because he's not used to being
- 15:53Speaker 2: in this situation.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's just like, yeah, it's an absolute sort of rush
- 15:57Speaker 1: of emotion, you know, it's when you first fall in
- 16:00Speaker 1: love with someone. It's yeah, it's kind of like, oh,
- 16:03Speaker 1: it's almost like you can take it in exhale.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, And he goes a little bit too far
- 16:07Speaker 2: when he's going to try and shorten himself to make
- 16:09Speaker 2: her feel it's like he just goes too far trying
- 16:11Speaker 2: to fix things, which is classic MO, and then her
- 16:14Speaker 2: leaving him and him just going you know what, at
- 16:16Speaker 2: least it's like you said, it's better to have been
- 16:18Speaker 2: loved than to have never been loved at all.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, Now what's the lines like I can't build
- 16:22Speaker 1: my I can't live in good intentions? He had nothing
- 16:25Speaker 1: but good intentions here. Yeah, he shouldn't have gone as
- 16:28Speaker 1: far as he did, but he didn't do it from
- 16:29Speaker 1: a negative place. He did it from a positive place.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So yeah, that was probably the main thing I liked
- 16:33Speaker 1: about any teeny Mi mo. I think I said, was
- 16:36Speaker 1: on your list? Yes it did, Okay, Yeah, yeah, I
- 16:38Speaker 1: think I said when we talked about it, it's like,
- 16:40Speaker 1: it's hard to put yourself in my shoes. But it
- 16:42Speaker 1: felt like that she overreacted a bit, But it felt
- 16:44Speaker 1: like we were more sort of sympathizing with mo.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think that's it. Yeah, yeah, you put yourself in
- 16:48Speaker 2: her perspective and she would have been annoyed by this. Absolutely,
- 16:51Speaker 2: You clearly don't love me for me if you're trying
- 16:53Speaker 2: to change your appearance for me as well.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But I think it was a pretty sensitive episode and
- 16:57Speaker 1: a pretty funny episode in a lot of ways.
- 16:59Speaker 2: This show is brought to you by the four Fingered

- 17:22Speaker 2: Slash four figure Discount I'm going to throw out sex
- 17:25Speaker 2: pies and video scrapes. Do you have that in your list?
- 17:27Speaker 1: I do not.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Okay, that's the first episode, the premiere. So I just
- 17:30Speaker 2: think this was two fun stories that probably could have
- 17:33Speaker 2: been full episodes if they wanted to stretch them out,
- 17:36Speaker 2: but thankfully they didn't, and they managed to sort of
- 17:39Speaker 2: blend them and combine them to make a really good
- 17:41Speaker 2: twenty two minute episode. Here you had Homerom Flanners becoming
- 17:44Speaker 2: bounty hunters that's right, yeah, and making it and being
- 17:46Speaker 2: a really good team, which is what I want to
- 17:48Speaker 2: touch on. But also Marge with her erotic cakes, yes,
- 17:50Speaker 2: which was a fun side plot. I think. Yes, it's
- 17:53Speaker 2: always nice seeing Marge be appreciated for a talent she's got. Granted,
- 17:57Speaker 2: by the end, we always it's just threw it at
- 17:59Speaker 2: the window back to, but she was really good at this,
- 18:02Speaker 2: and it's just nice seeing Marge willing to sort of
- 18:05Speaker 2: drop a garden and go, oh, I'm making dick cakes
- 18:08Speaker 2: but whatever. You know, that's okay because you're trying to
- 18:11Speaker 2: hide for everybody going on. She's almost like embarrassed by it.
- 18:13Speaker 2: She doesn't want to let her freaks sight out. And
- 18:14Speaker 2: when she's asked, She's like, yeah, this is cool. Oh, absolutely, yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 2: you're making dicks. It's always eat him in the bedtime
- 18:19Speaker 2: and eat him in the shower. Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's always tough, that, isn't it When you know you've
- 18:24Speaker 1: got a talent or a gift or something, but you're
- 18:28Speaker 1: afraid of how people are going to regain. Any person
- 18:31Speaker 1: who's in vague creative, even if it's not to do
- 18:34Speaker 1: with erotic cakes or say erotic literature, whatever, just writing
- 18:38Speaker 1: a book or painting a picture or recording a podcast
- 18:41Speaker 1: and putting it out into the world. You know, there's
- 18:43Speaker 1: always that kind of like jush am I going to
- 18:45Speaker 1: be judged with this, you know what a people are
- 18:47Speaker 1: going to think of this, like you're doing a percast.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Well, I've noticed a lot of people when we put
- 18:50Speaker 2: out clips there video clips, there's always one or two
- 18:52Speaker 2: people going who these two dickheads, and it's like you
- 18:55Speaker 2: just gotta what this Ain't that you're always just going
- 18:57Speaker 2: to ignore those people because I make any more clips.
- 18:59Speaker 2: There are people who just sit there and they just
- 19:01Speaker 2: they will break people down because you know what, you're
- 19:03Speaker 2: too scared to do something with yourself. So you've got
- 19:05Speaker 2: to bring everyone else down around you. That's correct, haters. Yes, yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 2: I mean, granted he might not be any good, never
- 19:11Speaker 2: could never step off. If you enjoy it and you
- 19:15Speaker 2: want to be creative, do it and throw it out there.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Don't let that fear of what other people might think
- 19:20Speaker 2: hold you back.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yes, whether it's a simpsenceing podcast or a cake shaped
- 19:25Speaker 1: like a penis exactly.
- 19:26Speaker 2: But then we got the other plot, the main plot,
- 19:27Speaker 2: which is Homer and Flanders being bounty hunters, and then
- 19:29Speaker 2: you have Homer I think it's just too dangerous, and
- 19:32Speaker 2: Flanders as I'm leaving, and then the bandy hunters like
- 19:34Speaker 2: Homer's got a bounty on him, and Flanders has the
- 19:36Speaker 2: great moment of well, I'm going to do it, almost
- 19:39Speaker 2: to protect Homer because you see these other dangerous We've
- 19:41Speaker 2: convintional out bunty hunters because you can say, and who
- 19:43Speaker 2: are going to probably kill him or beat him up,
- 19:46Speaker 2: so's I'll do it. And then Home say Flanders. It's
- 19:50Speaker 2: always nice seeing Homer and Flanders get along together, and
- 19:53Speaker 2: they made a great team in this episode. Yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Thing, I mean, we're always very fond of the fact
- 19:56Speaker 1: that Home is a bit of a dick. To Flanders,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you know, always sort of a guards and it was
- 20:00Speaker 1: like a bit I'm done with that gag now, I'm over,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I think a little bit. Yeah, a little bit player.
- 20:06Speaker 2: There's been too much evolution of the characters for that.
- 20:08Speaker 2: That was a fun gag at the beginning because he
- 20:10Speaker 2: didn't really know much about their relationship. Yeah, it was
- 20:13Speaker 2: our home is relatable. He's that because I don't think
- 20:16Speaker 2: the Homer of nineteen ninety one or nineteen ninety is
- 20:19Speaker 2: relatable in twenty twenty five. The character is similar but
- 20:22Speaker 2: also evolved as well. I just don't think. I just
- 20:24Speaker 2: don't think people relate to the al Bundis of the
- 20:27Speaker 2: world anymore. Okay, maybe now because people are kind of
- 20:31Speaker 2: gone too far, yeah back a bit. Maybe because it's
- 20:34Speaker 2: so different from what we're expecting now. But I just
- 20:36Speaker 2: don't think you've gotta find that balance of Albundi and Tanner.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Daddy Tanner that his full house. Oh yeah, yeah, yea, yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 2: yeah yeah. So I was thinking more like Phil Dumphy
- 20:45Speaker 2: from a Modern Family. Yeah, okay, yeah, see, I know
- 20:49Speaker 2: I was never a Modern Family fan. I've never liked
- 20:51Speaker 2: the quirky, random humor. I'm not a huge fan of show,
- 20:56Speaker 2: but I'm very much like what Tyberrell brought to the table. Yeah, character,
- 20:59Speaker 2: So I just don't think the Simpsons, like just the
- 21:03Speaker 2: Homo Simpson character as a still into nineteen ninety is
- 21:06Speaker 2: related on twenty twenty five, Which is why I just
- 21:08Speaker 2: don't think him being rude to his neighbor for the
- 21:10Speaker 2: second being, because that's just what that was. The sick
- 21:12Speaker 2: confliche wasn't it was.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Maybe I'm digging a little too deep here, but I
- 21:16Speaker 1: always viewed it as a little bit of envy and
- 21:19Speaker 1: a little bit of self loathing on Homer's parts, like
- 21:22Speaker 1: this guy's so good, I really probably should be like that.
- 21:25Speaker 2: But yeah, that's a that's an impossible level to reach.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Bo both Flanders is almost on the level of Phil
- 21:30Speaker 2: Hartman and Jingle all the way in those first scenes
- 21:32Speaker 2: where you know, in that Christmas episode, the first episode,
- 21:33Speaker 2: he goes, hey, Simpson, check out the new lights. Heh
- 21:36Speaker 2: and it's like, you obnoxious prick, But he's not meaning
- 21:39Speaker 2: to be, but he's just no. You could but you
- 21:41Speaker 2: could understand Homer's annoyance, like shut up, Flanders. It is envy,
- 21:46Speaker 2: but it's like hom Flantners wasn't Rubbi in his faith.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I guess they must have course correct early
- 21:50Speaker 1: on and making him more sort of like pious and
- 21:52Speaker 1: too much of a goodie good as opposed to just
- 21:55Speaker 1: good or good at stuff.
- 21:57Speaker 2: But they made Flanders more sympathetic now because in the
- 22:00Speaker 2: original series, like in the original run, the early run,
- 22:03Speaker 2: he had it all basically that she would want. He's
- 22:05Speaker 2: lost his wife, now he's going to raise he's a
- 22:07Speaker 2: single father, he's not always other things that have come
- 22:09Speaker 2: his way. Well, film or sympathetic for Flat as well.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Now when Home makes fun of You're like, I'm kind
- 22:14Speaker 2: of on a Flannder side now not home side. Well,
- 22:16Speaker 2: the game a few scars, I mean, yeah, yeah, lost
- 22:18Speaker 2: his business, lost his home, lost his wife alle Yeah yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 2: So it's like you're kind of rooting for Flanders more
- 22:24Speaker 2: than you're rooting for Homer. But yeah, I enjoyed. I
- 22:26Speaker 2: enjoyed the episode. Indeed, the next one I'm going to
- 22:29Speaker 2: talk about is take my life please. Okay, then what
- 22:31Speaker 2: did you do about this high definition? No?
- 22:34Speaker 1: No, it is the first one in high definition that
- 22:36Speaker 1: took a little getting used to. I mean, changing horses
- 22:39Speaker 1: mid stream, so to speak. How do you think you
- 22:42Speaker 1: would have gone if they had actually launched this season
- 22:45Speaker 1: in high definition as opposed to we got ten episodes
- 22:47Speaker 1: in standard and then were nine episodes in standard, and
- 22:50Speaker 1: then with episode ten is like, wow, look how bright
- 22:52Speaker 1: and shiny.
- 22:53Speaker 2: It is, as in what I've watched the rest of
- 22:55Speaker 2: the season. Do you think, oh, or the brand new
- 22:57Speaker 2: season n HD? Yeah, go, I was a big fan
- 23:00Speaker 2: of it at the time. I think I discussed this
- 23:01Speaker 2: on the podcast. It felt exciting. It felt like The
- 23:03Speaker 2: Simpsons was entering modern times because it just felt like
- 23:07Speaker 2: the future because everything was in HD by that point.
- 23:09Speaker 2: The Simpsons were still the four three and I'm like,
- 23:11Speaker 2: it's just still seem like that old cartoon that I
- 23:13Speaker 2: watched when I was kidding, never watched when they were kids.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Being AHTIF felt like it was fresh cool again for
- 23:18Speaker 2: me anyway. But yeah, I know, I don't think my
- 23:21Speaker 2: opinion would have changed all that much of it was
- 23:22Speaker 2: at the year of the season or mid season.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, just I find it interesting that they decided at
- 23:26Speaker 1: the tenth episode it's like, zing, it's time.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Look, there's a lot to sort of be about in
- 23:32Speaker 1: this episode, and particularly the sort of using the Italian restaurants, sources,
- 23:37Speaker 1: the this is.
- 23:38Speaker 2: A source one.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, as the way of looking into the future, all
- 23:41Speaker 1: the way of looking into alternate realities or the way
- 23:44Speaker 1: things could have gone. I'm not a huge fan of that.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I don't think it's all that well thought out. But
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm just a sucker for sliding doors sort of stories,
- 23:52Speaker 1: or it's like what if kind of stories.
- 23:54Speaker 2: My memory may be foggy, but is this the one
- 23:57Speaker 2: that has the guy coming back to Springford at the
- 23:59Speaker 2: start that we didn't really care about it. It's advance, Yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 2: and then they have the war at the end when
- 24:04Speaker 2: Homer enters the Wall of Famous what.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I guess I'd probably like the first half of this
- 24:09Speaker 1: episode more than I like the second half. I mean,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I don't think I don't think it resolves itself all
- 24:13Speaker 1: that well, and that whole plot device with the Italian
- 24:16Speaker 1: restaurant is not great. But yeah, as I said, just
- 24:20Speaker 1: a sucker for a could have been this way.
- 24:22Speaker 2: So the basic story of that was Homer realized that
- 24:24Speaker 2: the election was rigged. I actually had had the because
- 24:27Speaker 2: didn't the super not the principal. He rigged it deliberately
- 24:31Speaker 2: so that Homy would move because he knew it was
- 24:33Speaker 2: going to be for the wrong reason. Yeah, he knew that. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 2: that was the story.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we're electing Homers just so we can take
- 24:37Speaker 1: the pit. It's like, yeah, it's like, I think you're cool,
- 24:40Speaker 1: Homer Simpson.
- 24:43Speaker 2: That was mean.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It's like carry you know where they make the prom
- 24:47Speaker 1: queen and then they just done the pig. But yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 1: there's going to be a similar situation.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Well that Dondling who it is, Yeah, because they've always
- 24:53Speaker 2: had that rivalry. But it was nice. It was a
- 24:54Speaker 2: nice moment for Dondling. Was the character to go, I
- 24:56Speaker 2: can see what's going on here. Even though I don't
- 24:59Speaker 2: really like this, I know that it wouldn't be right
- 25:02Speaker 2: of me to allow this.
- 25:02Speaker 1: That you've got a responsibility as an educator and authority
- 25:05Speaker 1: figure to make sure they don't take too many hits.
- 25:08Speaker 2: So I think that's the main reason that I enjoyed it.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I thought, yeah it it had a good heart, and
- 25:13Speaker 2: it also just had a storyline that or apploped the
- 25:17Speaker 2: bars that I tend to really enjoy. I remember being
- 25:19Speaker 2: a fan of Home wanting to live in the sauce.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I think he jumps into the it was a nice
- 25:24Speaker 2: looking sauce sometimes you know, a good napoli sauce is
- 25:28Speaker 2: just what you need. Do you find when you go
- 25:30Speaker 2: to a restaurant or even just that Suvlaky bar whatever,
- 25:33Speaker 2: fish and chip shop, you look at the back and
- 25:35Speaker 2: Steepe's making and you're like, this is a this is
- 25:36Speaker 2: a real place. When you see big Momay at the
- 25:39Speaker 2: back chopping up potatoes at the fish and chip shop,
- 25:40Speaker 2: you're like, this is a fish and chip shop. Why
- 25:43Speaker 2: I go to my still go to Maneuver Road, As
- 25:45Speaker 2: I said, shout out, I haven't gone there yet. Still
- 25:48Speaker 2: I keep saying, we're going to try the homemade chips
- 25:49Speaker 2: from the fish and chip shop.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Shout out, shout out to Nick and Pete. And like
- 25:53Speaker 1: I said, I went to your pizza place, Romania, and
- 25:56Speaker 1: going in there, it's kind of like, well, this looks
- 25:58Speaker 1: like an Arsil family joint.
- 26:00Speaker 2: At the telly on in the background, it like, hey,
- 26:02Speaker 2: somebody look, order a pizza. Okay, let's make it up. Yeah,
- 26:05Speaker 2: it just needs an arcade machine exactly Finer. I may
- 26:09Speaker 2: be projecting him, but it's kind of like, al right, guys,
- 26:11Speaker 2: let's get it together. This guy wants a pizza, yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 2: as opposed to just a you have a cat on
- 26:16Speaker 2: the window. Oh doing a little meals out us.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Hey, okays, it just seemed like a nice little family joint.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yes, and it did. All right, My next one to
- 26:26Speaker 2: throw out there will be wedding for disaster. Now. I
- 26:30Speaker 2: remember it's not being a very funny episode, but it
- 26:32Speaker 2: was very emotionally driven where it was almost the one
- 26:35Speaker 2: there was one where there's some sore parody where you
- 26:38Speaker 2: feel like the writers went, Okay, people seem to be
- 26:41Speaker 2: sick of jok Art's Homer. This is not going to
- 26:44Speaker 2: fix this, but it's going to try and sway your
- 26:47Speaker 2: opinion more back into Yes, we're going to try and
- 26:49Speaker 2: make him more likable again, because he was just one
- 26:52Speaker 2: hundred percent relatable and likable in this episode. He was
- 26:55Speaker 2: just going out of his way from beginning to woe
- 26:57Speaker 2: to please Marge, get back to his family, and he
- 27:00Speaker 2: was just a lovely husband husband in this.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It was a really vivid reminder that this guy knows
- 27:05Speaker 1: how good he's got it. Yes, yeah, which we're always saying,
- 27:08Speaker 1: I mean because it wasn't for a punchline, because hey,
- 27:12Speaker 1: listeners are full thing a discat. You may not know this,
- 27:14Speaker 1: but both Dan or as simps. So, yeah, we relate
- 27:18Speaker 1: to Homer in that regard is like you won the game, buddy,
- 27:22Speaker 1: So always remember that and always, you know, articulate that,
- 27:25Speaker 1: don't take that for granted, don't take it for granted.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Exactly right, But I think they use Paddy and Salma
- 27:29Speaker 2: here as the sore villain. If you can even win
- 27:34Speaker 2: over Patty and Salomon, then how can you possibly win
- 27:36Speaker 2: over you the viewer? That's right.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Admediately they stacked the deck in some regard by making
- 27:41Speaker 1: Marge a bit of a bridezilla.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I unlike that. It was It's nice seeing her get
- 27:44Speaker 2: her bridezilla moment. It's a it's a nice swerve, absolutely,
- 27:48Speaker 2: but it also I think makes you watsympathetic for Homer.
- 27:52Speaker 1: H Absolutely, yeah, but everyone can not that everyone can
- 27:56Speaker 1: relate to a bridezilla, but just sort of see where
- 27:58Speaker 1: Margins coming from. But they still towards home and just
- 28:01Speaker 1: enough that you go, you're more on the guy's side
- 28:03Speaker 1: because we quite frankly, he needed.
- 28:05Speaker 2: To pull the curtain back of it here planning for
- 28:07Speaker 2: our wedding. Nicola was the opposite of a bride seller,
- 28:09Speaker 2: and she was organizing dresses right and her bride'smaids at
- 28:13Speaker 2: the time, who she'd picked or several of them, were
- 28:16Speaker 2: complaining about this. They wanted this one too much money.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I want to be able to stay in Geelong. That
- 28:21Speaker 2: night's gonna costo much one if we stayed there. We
- 28:23Speaker 2: need to move this. They were basically telling Nichola how
- 28:25Speaker 2: to run her wedding. Oh boy, hey, you know what
- 28:27Speaker 2: I did. I said to Nicola, you know what if
- 28:29Speaker 2: they're trying to tell you how to run your wedding,
- 28:31Speaker 2: should they be bridesmaids? Knew what she did. She nicked them,
- 28:35Speaker 2: three of her bridesmaids, and she replaced them. And she
- 28:36Speaker 2: looks back now and she goes, one of the best
- 28:38Speaker 2: decisions I've ever made was Nixon Nos. Three because she's
- 28:41Speaker 2: never spoken to him since, for real, never spoken to him.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Say's never seen them since. Those people when she's nixed them,
- 28:46Speaker 2: and the three people she replaced them with are still
- 28:47Speaker 2: some of her best friends to this day. And she goes,
- 28:49Speaker 2: I don't know why I chose because they were friends
- 28:52Speaker 2: of Nicholas when she first came to Australia, the ones
- 28:54Speaker 2: that she risually included, and I think she just sort
- 28:56Speaker 2: of included them by well, they were my first friends. Here,
- 28:58Speaker 2: I need to kind of include them. And then turns out, no,
- 29:02Speaker 2: first friends, not always best friends. No, not always best friends,
- 29:05Speaker 2: and she's replaced them, and these are friends, our lifelong
- 29:07Speaker 2: and she looks back now she goes, I would hate
- 29:09Speaker 2: to look back on my wedding photos and have seen
- 29:11Speaker 2: those three in them. I'm so glad that my three
- 29:13Speaker 2: friends who I have still to this day are bridesmaids. Yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 2: well done. So Nicola was the opposite of a bride's yell,
- 29:18Speaker 2: and it just took me to go and took everything
- 29:20Speaker 2: in her being to say you're not my bridesmad anymore.
- 29:23Speaker 2: That's a big decision. Oh absolutely, But it was the
- 29:25Speaker 2: right decision, Oh.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, because I mean, that's not just pulling the pin
- 29:28Speaker 1: on ceremony, that's probably pulling the pin on the whole friendship.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and that was it. She's never seen them or
- 29:34Speaker 2: spoken to him since, and good riddance support. Okay, well
- 29:38Speaker 2: likely I like that, looking Pete beyond the curtain.
- 29:40Speaker 1: My next one, yes, is the good, the sad and
- 29:43Speaker 1: the drugly Yeah okay, yeah, for reasons that we've already
- 29:46Speaker 1: sort of talked about, but in a slightly different way.
- 29:49Speaker 1: It's always good when a character who has been the
- 29:52Speaker 1: butt of the joke or the punching bag not necessarily
- 29:55Speaker 1: gets their time to shine, but you know it gets
- 29:58Speaker 1: a little bit of an updraft and gets a little
- 30:00Speaker 1: bit of a win and you forget that. That's the
- 30:02Speaker 1: feeling for mill House with this episode. I initially tuned
- 30:06Speaker 1: in because it's like, yeah, and Hathaway his guest star.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And when we talked about this episode, I was like,
- 30:10Speaker 1: didn't bring a whole lot of the table.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Annie didn't bring hold to the character. Really, no, that's
- 30:14Speaker 2: that's the character wasn't much. So how many female guest
- 30:17Speaker 2: stars are now bart girlfriends, that's true?
- 30:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and yeah, the character of Jenny and this felt
- 30:24Speaker 1: like kind of a retread or a rehash.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Of every other female girlfriend. This did feel like a
- 30:32Speaker 2: bit of a rerun. Remember he knocked up somebody who
- 30:34Speaker 2: was the voice Forgot and there's a voice of the
- 30:36Speaker 2: bully from Sarah Michelle Gallop when he was in prison.
- 30:39Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 1: So yeah, and Hathaway not that great in this. I mean, yeah,
- 30:44Speaker 1: all do you respect around Hathaway who now I'm going
- 30:47Speaker 1: to marry? Yeah, blah blah blah. Oh, for goodness, I've
- 30:50Speaker 1: forgotten the name of the other female character who really
- 30:52Speaker 1: shines in this Shaner.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Shaner really especially debuts. I'm sure. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 31:00Speaker 2: I'm all in on shore. People did not like Sewan
- 31:03Speaker 2: when she debuted, and it's I think it's like twenty
- 31:08Speaker 2: years on, you're just like, you know what, She's actually
- 31:09Speaker 2: a much needed addition to the Bullies group because they
- 31:13Speaker 2: were just lost. Sure, yeah, yeah. I don't think Simpsons
- 31:18Speaker 2: as you knew what to do with the bullies because
- 31:20Speaker 2: they were intimidating anymore. They were just goofballs. Yeah. And
- 31:24Speaker 2: now they've got not even Capital City goopballs, I know,
- 31:26Speaker 2: and now throwing Shorter in it, it's like, oh, at
- 31:28Speaker 2: least we've got something to sort of root for now.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah. The fact that I I'm sure that's great.
- 31:34Speaker 2: I love it, And there is that there was a
- 31:35Speaker 2: fun little plot twist to her character in later season,
- 31:38Speaker 2: which I won't if you want to see your reaction thing.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I'm not well versed on sort of Simpsons going forward,
- 31:42Speaker 2: so it's going to be she is somebody an exciting experiment, yes,
- 31:46Speaker 2: But I think mainly I liked it because of the
- 31:48Speaker 2: of the Millhouse, the whole knotty friendship friendship relationship dynamic.
- 31:55Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure that all of us at some stage
- 31:56Speaker 2: in our life. Oh, you've got involved with a romantic partner,
- 31:59Speaker 2: but it's kind of disrupting your friendships, that kind of thing. Thought.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I thought the episode actually handled that pretty well. I
- 32:06Speaker 1: thought it handled it comedically pretty well, but also emotionally
- 32:11Speaker 1: pretty smartly.
- 32:13Speaker 2: So I was I was a fan of that. I'm
- 32:15Speaker 2: not so much a fan of the b plot, where
- 32:17Speaker 2: that was a week at best. Yeah, the whole Lisa
- 32:19Speaker 2: being well, she hates the world the words because she
- 32:22Speaker 2: has the project on Springfield and fifty years well, oh
- 32:24Speaker 2: that's right, it was going to shit. So she gets
- 32:26Speaker 2: put on drugs to be happy, and then Marge's like,
- 32:28Speaker 2: I'm taking off these drugs, and then that was there.
- 32:31Speaker 2: She's just off.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Lisa had the very twenty twenty five sort of state
- 32:35Speaker 1: of mind and popping her pills and seeing everything with
- 32:37Speaker 1: happy face. The visuals on that weren't bad as far
- 32:39Speaker 1: as I Yeah, that was quite good, but I mean
- 32:42Speaker 1: it was just a bit of a nothing burger of
- 32:44Speaker 1: a storyline, and it didn't feel one hundred percent sort
- 32:47Speaker 1: of faithful to Lisa as well, sort of.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I mean Lisa's I think Lisa's the worst hand character
- 32:53Speaker 2: in modern times. Well, yeah, but she was. I mean,
- 32:55Speaker 2: we've had the episode where Lisa was feeling down and
- 32:58Speaker 2: that was handled, so we ourning Lisa, as we said
- 33:00Speaker 2: in the episode. Yeah, it's one of the one of
- 33:01Speaker 2: the best moments of all time the Simpsons. If you
- 33:03Speaker 2: want to be sad, be sad. Absolutely absolutely.
- 33:05Speaker 1: But I thought there was a lot to enjoy in
- 33:06Speaker 1: the good the sound, and the drug ly and that
- 33:08Speaker 1: that sort of iffy b plot aside.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I'm going to throw the one out we just did
- 33:12Speaker 2: recently coming to America. I really like this. I think
- 33:14Speaker 2: the way the hand of the subject matter is similar
- 33:16Speaker 2: to Goubacs we just did on going down to South Park. Correct.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I think the Simpsons did a better job of it.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I wouldn't say it was as funny as the South
- 33:22Speaker 2: Park version. South Park, you know they call a crude
- 33:26Speaker 2: or whatever. They do very a lot of things on
- 33:28Speaker 2: the nose, but it was very, very funny, right. I
- 33:31Speaker 2: think the Simpsons handled this really touchy subject in a
- 33:34Speaker 2: way that you can show your kids and say the
- 33:36Speaker 2: kids will be getting learning a lesson without realizing they're
- 33:38Speaker 2: learning a lesson. I think this episode, the way they
- 33:40Speaker 2: showcased the ogdenvillionsvillions, that's who came in yet as opposed
- 33:45Speaker 2: to the Mexicans or whatever, because the other one, the
- 33:47Speaker 2: Mypods and boomsticks, was so obvious. Yeah, with the terrorists
- 33:52Speaker 2: and whatnot, and I would just think they're terrorists and
- 33:54Speaker 2: it's just like, this feels very awkward, and I don't
- 33:58Speaker 2: know what's what's the way to describe that. I just
- 33:59Speaker 2: felt well, blunt, blunt, yeah, watching that where this one here,
- 34:03Speaker 2: Homer gets swept up at it all, but it's not
- 34:05Speaker 2: in a way that's so obvious as my Poston Brute
- 34:07Speaker 2: and absolutely no.
- 34:08Speaker 1: It shows that it's very easy to sort of get
- 34:10Speaker 1: swept up in that, and not because necessarily you're afraid
- 34:15Speaker 1: of or contemptuous of, quote unquote the other.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Yeah, someone coming to take you jib or whatever. It's like, oh, look,
- 34:23Speaker 2: we're more.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Than willing to help people out, but the same time,
- 34:26Speaker 1: this is also kind of being a bit of a
- 34:28Speaker 1: drain on our resources thing.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think they balance it quite well,
- 34:32Speaker 1: And as you said, I think it's something that you
- 34:34Speaker 1: could show to your kids and they would take away
- 34:37Speaker 1: the lessons like, well, being mean to newcomers or strangers,
- 34:40Speaker 1: or be kind of strangers, offer a helping hand, do
- 34:43Speaker 1: what you can, that kind of thing. But they also
- 34:46Speaker 1: showed it's like you got to realize though, that when
- 34:48Speaker 1: you offering a helping hand or helping out can sometimes.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Require a bit of a sacrifice. Yeah, are you willing
- 34:54Speaker 2: to do that? Yeah? Some people maybe, and some people
- 34:56Speaker 2: may not. So you know, I got to look into
- 34:58Speaker 2: all of that. The previous episode was more focus on
- 35:00Speaker 2: Homer seeing how they looked and going, oh, well, you'd
- 35:02Speaker 2: look like a terrorist, where this one here wasn't based
- 35:04Speaker 2: on appearance. It was and it wasn't really It wasn't
- 35:06Speaker 2: based on the gebs. That wasn't the thing. It was
- 35:09Speaker 2: just having more people in this town is a drain,
- 35:12Speaker 2: as you said, on our resources, but it can't be
- 35:13Speaker 2: seen at the hospital, and that because the emergency rooms
- 35:15Speaker 2: forced things like that. Look, all these kind of stuff's
- 35:18Speaker 2: being just overpopulated. So the issue was more overpopulation as
- 35:22Speaker 2: opposed to they're still in our jobs, they look different
- 35:24Speaker 2: that kind of thing, which I think is a real
- 35:26Speaker 2: clever way of handling the situation. Still getting the same
- 35:28Speaker 2: message across a unity. And then they want to build
- 35:31Speaker 2: the wall, which we've touched on how the Trump tried
- 35:33Speaker 2: to build the walls, that kind of thing, but in
- 35:34Speaker 2: the future. But then as they're building the wall, just
- 35:36Speaker 2: talking to each other and going, we're actually not so different.
- 35:38Speaker 2: You and I look at what're building together.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I mean, and really the building wall to separate themselves,
- 35:43Speaker 1: but they're working on it together. It's an interesting kind
- 35:45Speaker 1: of matter.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Making them build the wall and then get out. Yeah,
- 35:47Speaker 2: that's right. Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Look, I gave a writer, Brendan Hay, a bit of
- 35:49Speaker 1: stick during that episode. I'm going to take some of
- 35:52Speaker 1: it back.
- 35:52Speaker 2: I think. I think Brenda did all right.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Some of his gags were kind of it's a bit sloppy,
- 35:56Speaker 1: but I think his overall structure was pretty good.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Speaking of sloppy, I liked the opening act, the spewed Army.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I was about to mention that, I think, yeah, this
- 36:03Speaker 2: has got one of the best inciting incidents for some time.
- 36:05Speaker 2: It has been. Yeah. I really enjoyed the Krusty Burger,
- 36:08Speaker 2: the new healthy Krusty Burger, that's right. Yeah, and again
- 36:11Speaker 2: by the nature Burger. I believe it was called something
- 36:12Speaker 2: along those yeah, yeah, and I was just in a
- 36:14Speaker 2: green wrapper.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and I was giving Brendan hays Stick the sloppy gags.
- 36:18Speaker 1: He had one really good gag, and that was just like,
- 36:20Speaker 1: what was it? The you know, the Krusty Burger is
- 36:22Speaker 1: the world's unhealthiest or whatever, even more unhealthy than the
- 36:25Speaker 1: than the double Krusty Burger, surprisingly, so yeah, yeah, that's
- 36:29Speaker 1: a that's actually a really good gag.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Okay, so you must have one left. I believe I've
- 36:33Speaker 2: got one left. It's how the test was one. Okay. Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I thought this actually had two good plots working, if
- 36:40Speaker 1: not necessarily in concert with one another, working well together.
- 36:43Speaker 1: They sort of Yeah, they dubbed heiled nicely, but yeah, the.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Whole home has to be plot of trying to avoid
- 36:48Speaker 2: getting hurt. Yeah, his insurance is out, so you know,
- 36:50Speaker 2: he's it's a bit of a final destination kind of
- 36:53Speaker 2: thing where it was, wasn't it. Yeah, And it was
- 36:55Speaker 2: a bit of it. Just that was a fine b
- 36:57Speaker 2: plot just to sort of break up the main story.
- 37:00Speaker 1: It's relatable enough and it's like oh, like yeah, I'm
- 37:02Speaker 1: not sure this has ever happened to anyone in real life,
- 37:04Speaker 1: but it's like, oh, I've got to avoid getting If
- 37:07Speaker 1: I can just make it through the rest of the
- 37:08Speaker 1: day without hitting someone with my car or you know,
- 37:11Speaker 1: a building falling on or whatever, everything will work out.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So I thought that was pretty interestingly done. Yeah, the
- 37:17Speaker 1: whole standardized Practice test thing with the school with Barton Lisa,
- 37:21Speaker 1: I just got a kick out of her.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Thought. This where Skinner takes the kids away. Yeah, it
- 37:25Speaker 2: takes Ralph bart in the bullies way on the school bus.
- 37:27Speaker 2: It's not really they think it's something else, but it's
- 37:30Speaker 2: actually they think they're going on like a helicopter and
- 37:32Speaker 2: it pulls a blanket off the school and more like
- 37:34Speaker 2: a prison bus. That's where Skinner is. It's where he
- 37:36Speaker 2: teaches that he uses the barge for teaching him about physics.
- 37:39Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, So I don't know, it had good
- 37:43Speaker 2: lessons in there, wrapped in good jokes, I thought. But yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 2: I just like the way the A and B plot
- 37:48Speaker 2: sort of worked together well. And yeah, and you had
- 37:50Speaker 2: a little bit of a A minus plot with Lisa
- 37:52Speaker 2: getting all sort of worked up because you know, I
- 37:55Speaker 2: was smarter, well she thought he was smarter, that's right. Yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I kind of liked how the test was one mainly
- 38:00Speaker 2: for that resolution. Yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Were they capital city that they went to or shelved somewhere? Yeah, yeah,
- 38:05Speaker 1: but they were out of out of spring Fruit for
- 38:07Speaker 1: a while. You had a group of people who a
- 38:10Speaker 1: group of the kids that you hadn't necessarily seen together
- 38:12Speaker 1: for a while.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Ralph barton the bullies, Yeah, rare ralphart and the bullies.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I don't know. I thought it worked, and I like
- 38:18Speaker 2: it when Skinner and bart get along as well. That's true,
- 38:20Speaker 2: and he's able to get through to the kids. Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 2: because this was a moment where the skin I think
- 38:24Speaker 2: we discussed it in the review, a moment that the
- 38:26Speaker 2: Skinner character needed.
- 38:28Speaker 1: This is something that's coming up a bit in this
- 38:30Speaker 1: discussion how the episodes that we've liked, and maybe Season
- 38:33Speaker 1: twenty as a whole has given these traditionally sideline characters.
- 38:38Speaker 1: And I don't just mean sideline dramatically, I mean sidelined
- 38:41Speaker 1: in terms of like, okay, well you're the ones that
- 38:43Speaker 1: we poke fun at, you're the butt of the joke. Yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 1: the butt of the joke. Giving them there again time
- 38:47Speaker 1: to shine or giving them just like you know, these
- 38:50Speaker 1: are people too, and you don't lose all the time.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Sometimes you get a win.
- 38:54Speaker 2: So I must though there's a bit of recess before
- 38:55Speaker 2: this season, and went, what if we're doing wrong, let's
- 38:58Speaker 2: try and fix that a little bit. Don't get me wrong.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Season twenty had its down moments, but there was plenty
- 39:05Speaker 2: of good in there as well.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I think we were pleasantly surprised, yeah, because I think
- 39:08Speaker 1: going in we were going like, Eh, this is going
- 39:10Speaker 1: to be death.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and it wasn't. I mean, it was nowhere near death. No, no.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And there was stuff in there that we would say
- 39:17Speaker 1: during the episodes when we reviewed them, like, this is
- 39:19Speaker 1: a gag that would work well in quote unquote classic Simpsons,
- 39:22Speaker 1: This would not be out of place. Now, there were
- 39:25Speaker 1: certainly times where I was like, this certainly would be
- 39:27Speaker 1: what was.
- 39:28Speaker 2: More case of just ah, this episode's just there. I'm bored,
- 39:31Speaker 2: as opposed to I'm anger on, I'm just bored with this.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I don't think we had many, if any episodes in
- 39:37Speaker 1: season twenty we were like stricken from the record, this
- 39:40Speaker 1: is garbage.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a couple of where I sort of went, ah,
- 39:42Speaker 2: and this ending feels very rushed and whatnot, But nothing
- 39:45Speaker 2: that angered me or anything to the level of the
- 39:47Speaker 2: Codependent's Day and that kind of thing. That's right. This

- 40:18Speaker 2: cannon episode. It's more of like a format bending episode.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It's gone, Maggie Gone, Okay, So they take onto da
- 40:23Speaker 2: Vinci Code and National Treasure. I thought this was a
- 40:26Speaker 2: really fun mystery where you know when they do those
- 40:29Speaker 2: trilogy episodes and it's here's a historic event in Simpson's form,
- 40:33Speaker 2: this was well, this was a great women at a manicure. Yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 2: that kind of thing. I don't like them because it's
- 40:37Speaker 2: just not anything new here. This was a more of
- 40:40Speaker 2: a following the same sort of plot lines of these
- 40:43Speaker 2: DaVinci Codes and whatnot. But you've really simplified it. That's
- 40:46Speaker 2: the one where Homer leaves Maggie on the doorstep of
- 40:49Speaker 2: the convent. Lisa goes to try and get her back.
- 40:51Speaker 2: She's all secretive she's chosen one. I just thought it
- 40:55Speaker 2: was really fun. I just thought I was beef for beat.
- 40:57Speaker 2: You didn't really know where it was going. And in
- 40:58Speaker 2: the end it turns out Maggie is that the chosen one.
- 41:01Speaker 2: They end up giving Bart as a replacement. He becomes Hell.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I really enjoyed this overall mystery episode and cool. It
- 41:08Speaker 2: kept me intrigued from bit to bit.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I won't say I was mad as mad on that one.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I thought it was fine. It didn't it didn't disrupt
- 41:15Speaker 1: me or anything like that. But I don't know if
- 41:16Speaker 1: I've said, actually said all of mine, all of my
- 41:18Speaker 1: top five.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I mean, is the one more for you? I think
- 41:21Speaker 2: there might be what's your loved one? Well, the one
- 41:23Speaker 2: that I did want to bring up was in the
- 41:24Speaker 2: Name of the Grandfather. Okay, yeah, I'm really quite like
- 41:27Speaker 2: I gave it as one of yours. I'm not sure
- 41:29Speaker 2: if it's on it's not. No, But so they go
- 41:31Speaker 2: to Ireland and by the pop.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of these episodes were it's like the
- 41:34Speaker 1: Simpsons are going to such and such. You know, some
- 41:36Speaker 1: of them could be a bit dubious.
- 41:38Speaker 2: We always say the negative about those ones is they go,
- 41:40Speaker 2: then they go, let's just pick out a few guest stars.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I think we're sort of looking at through the lens
- 41:45Speaker 1: of like when they went to the UK and it's like, hey,
- 41:47Speaker 1: here's jk Rowling, hiss Tony Blair. It's like, okay, we've
- 41:49Speaker 1: got some You've got your check book open and you've
- 41:51Speaker 1: got your clout and you're able to say hey, come
- 41:53Speaker 1: on board, and hey, I would say.
- 41:55Speaker 2: On So they do get that stuff out of the way.
- 41:58Speaker 2: It's not the main substance of the story there, because
- 41:59Speaker 2: you have Bart, Lisa and Marge going on a little that. Yeah,
- 42:03Speaker 2: it's like they go to various locations in Ireland, but
- 42:05Speaker 2: that's not the episode. The episode is Homer and Grandpa
- 42:08Speaker 2: buying this part, buying this pub.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but it also felt like it paid a lot
- 42:12Speaker 1: of tribute to Ireland present and past. It was like, Yep,
- 42:17Speaker 1: this is a country full of rich culture and interesting
- 42:19Speaker 1: people and interesting characters and all this kind of stuff,
- 42:22Speaker 1: and through studdled little gags all the way out, even
- 42:25Speaker 1: something like little Easter eggs. I think I've got all
- 42:28Speaker 1: book nerding and was talking about, Hey, there's that picture,
- 42:30Speaker 1: and you know that's James Joyce, and that's Oscar will
- 42:32Speaker 1: and that's Samuel Beckett.
- 42:33Speaker 2: You may not get it, but there it is. I know.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I just thought it was something really not Now I've
- 42:37Speaker 1: got Irish heritage, you Okay, maybe that's part of the
- 42:40Speaker 1: reason why I enjoyed this, But no, I just thought
- 42:43Speaker 1: it was a fun episode.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Isn't the one This is where they allow smoking in
- 42:47Speaker 2: their pub because round pubs in Ireland, right, that's how
- 42:50Speaker 2: they get their business up. Yeah. And the cops coming over,
- 42:53Speaker 2: they had the vacuum. Yeah, they're putting it and putting
- 42:55Speaker 2: the smoke in evidence bags. It was a pretty good game. Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 2: How does that one end? Do you remember how it ends?
- 43:00Speaker 1: I think they get deported and sent back to the
- 43:03Speaker 1: ending was The ending was shit. The ending was a
- 43:05Speaker 1: little bit of a non event. Island has got great
- 43:09Speaker 1: cops because they kicked out all their terrible people and
- 43:12Speaker 1: all the terrible people went to America and became cops
- 43:14Speaker 1: there and Clancy and Clancy is.
- 43:18Speaker 2: The example of that. Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 1: So but yeah, I thought In the Name of the
- 43:21Speaker 1: Grandfather was a fun episode. I thought it was a nice,
- 43:24Speaker 1: not necessarily bonding moment between Homer and Grandpa, but I
- 43:28Speaker 1: got them back on common ground to some degree. And
- 43:31Speaker 1: I thought Cole Meenie was a good guest star.
- 43:33Speaker 2: He was, Yeah, as the pub owner. The pub owner,
- 43:35Speaker 2: that's right, he did well. That is our top ten
- 43:38Speaker 2: of season twenty. Yeah. Not a whole lot of crossover
- 43:41Speaker 2: only maybe one one, I think, yeah, any teeny. Yeah.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Besides that, there was a lot to like in season twenty,
- 43:47Speaker 2: as we've already said, yeah it was, and hey, we
- 43:49Speaker 2: did the job of excavating it.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Because I imagine there are a lot of people out
- 43:52Speaker 1: there going season twenty and I forget about it. I'm
- 43:54Speaker 1: just going to put seasons like three through nine.
- 43:57Speaker 2: On a loop and just watch that. I think we
- 43:59Speaker 2: do it, don't do it. I think we've done the
- 44:01Speaker 2: Trey Parker Matt Stone thing here where anyone who's listened
- 44:03Speaker 2: to this now is clearly someone who's smart enough to go,
- 44:06Speaker 2: all right, I'm going to give these post nine episodes
- 44:09Speaker 2: season I go yeah, because you can be listening if
- 44:11Speaker 2: you know, if you're one of those people, you can

- 44:36Speaker 2: the names into what do you call these randomized the
- 44:40Speaker 2: thing here. Yep, I'm going to click the button and
- 44:42Speaker 2: takes ten seconds to do it. All doo doo doo
- 44:45Speaker 2: doo doo doo do do and click dude, it takes

- 44:52Speaker 2: winner of the Guy Davis New Name Championship wild Card.

- 45:41Speaker 2: it gets into shape, and Marg is like, I loved
- 45:43Speaker 2: you before, I love you love now. I'm not sure

- 45:51Speaker 2: just love you for being you. And it's it's it's
