- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkgirl Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and welcome back
- 0:19Speaker 1: to another episode. I am so excited for today's episode
- 0:23Speaker 1: because I feel like I'm in need of a spring refresh.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm finally feeling like it feels like spring right now,
- 0:30Speaker 1: like the weather's finally changing. We're finally seeing less snow,
- 0:33Speaker 1: We're seeing more sunshine, which is literally the best feeling ever.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I don't know if anyone else is currently feeling the
- 0:39Speaker 1: same way, but I'm finally seeing summer ahead. I feel
- 0:43Speaker 1: like it's been the longest winter ever and I'm just
- 0:47Speaker 1: so ready for a new season and I'm so happy
- 0:49Speaker 1: we're officially in spring and just seeing the warmer weather just.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Makes things ten times better.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Today's episode's really going to be focused on a hawk
- 0:57Speaker 1: Girl spring refresh, so just kind of like the motivation
- 1:01Speaker 1: to feeling yourself again because I'm currently in this phase
- 1:04Speaker 1: in my life where I am finally starting to build
- 1:07Speaker 1: a routine again and find myself again. Which if you
- 1:11Speaker 1: guys have been following along for a while, then you
- 1:13Speaker 1: know that I've been going through a pretty severe back
- 1:15Speaker 1: injury for the past four to five months and I've
- 1:19Speaker 1: officially been cleared to go back to reformer pilates and
- 1:23Speaker 1: start to add strength back into my routine, which I
- 1:27Speaker 1: honestly thought was never gonna happen. Like it just felt
- 1:31Speaker 1: so hard to like picture my injury getting better because
- 1:34Speaker 1: I felt like it was so bad for such a
- 1:36Speaker 1: long time. And I've definitely opened up here a lot
- 1:38Speaker 1: about it here on the podcast along with my social
- 1:41Speaker 1: media platforms, and how it was just such a difficult
- 1:44Speaker 1: journey for someone who's such an active person who really
- 1:48Speaker 1: makes working out her biggest priority ever, Like I truly
- 1:52Speaker 1: just like revolve my life around moving my body because
- 1:55Speaker 1: for me personally, it just does so many benefits for me.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It eases my anxiety, it helps my stress. I feel
- 2:01Speaker 1: like it's the best way to get a bit of
- 2:03Speaker 1: a social fix in because I do go to workout classes.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's not just like something I do in my house.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I like to get out, you know, meet friends, go
- 2:10Speaker 1: for a workout together. Like it's just like my perfect
- 2:13Speaker 1: ideal situation. Like if someone were to ask me what's
- 2:16Speaker 1: the perfect date, it would be come to a workout
- 2:18Speaker 1: class with me and then let's go get a post
- 2:20Speaker 1: workout smoothie after or a post coffee like something like that.
- 2:24Speaker 1: That's my dream date. If I could do that with
- 2:25Speaker 1: my husband every single day, I would love that. If
- 2:27Speaker 1: I can do that with the girls every single day,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that is my dream. I think everybody can agree that
- 2:31Speaker 1: it's like the perfect ideal date. And so not being
- 2:35Speaker 1: able to go to workout classes or do the workouts
- 2:38Speaker 1: that I love was very, very hard on my mental health,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and I'm finally seeing so much progress in my mental
- 2:44Speaker 1: health how I've been feeling and my energy levels have
- 2:47Speaker 1: been so much better, and I kind of just wanted
- 2:49Speaker 1: to share things that I'm doing to feel like myself
- 2:51Speaker 1: again and almost just like a spring refresh of how
- 2:54Speaker 1: you can feel like yourself again by doing little things
- 2:57Speaker 1: and little habits that can make yourself I just feel
- 3:00Speaker 1: a little bit more motivated and want to make yourself
- 3:03Speaker 1: feel like the person that you want to be. I
- 3:05Speaker 1: also want to share some April goals because I always
- 3:08Speaker 1: love to share the goals that I'm striving for each
- 3:10Speaker 1: month because I want it to inspire you to make
- 3:14Speaker 1: goals for yourself for each month. So we're also going
- 3:16Speaker 1: to chat about that as well before we get into
- 3:19Speaker 1: the episode. I did want to do a bit of
- 3:20Speaker 1: a weekly recap because if you listen to my last episode,
- 3:24Speaker 1: which if you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend
- 3:26Speaker 1: listening to it. It is all about me talking with
- 3:28Speaker 1: the lessons that I learned throughout my twenties. Because I'm
- 3:30Speaker 1: officially thirty years old. Thirty years old, so wild it
- 3:34Speaker 1: doesn't feel real yet. I still haven't had a conversation
- 3:38Speaker 1: with someone saying like, oh, how old are you. It's
- 3:39Speaker 1: like I haven't had that yet where I'm like, oh,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm thirty. You know, I'm waiting for that day where
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm going to say twenty nine, but obviously I'm actually thirty.
- 3:46Speaker 1: But I always like forget how old I am. Sometimes
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't know if anyone else is like that, but anyways,
- 3:51Speaker 1: point is is that I had a big birthday party
- 3:54Speaker 1: this weekend, which was so fun. I really wasn't sure
- 3:57Speaker 1: if I was going to do something, and it's fun.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Everybody that I saw the night before or on the
- 4:03Speaker 1: Thursday night, they're like.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Oh my god, are you excited for this weekend?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Like it's your birthday party, you must be so excited,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and like, I was excited, but I also was like
- 4:11Speaker 1: low key kind of looking forward to it being over,
- 4:13Speaker 1: if that makes sense, Like not in a sad way.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I just think planning events is so stressful, and you
- 4:20Speaker 1: guys know that I've been trying to like work on
- 4:21Speaker 1: my stress and like remove stress from my lifestyle whatever,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and obviously it's very hard.
- 4:25Speaker 2: When you want to do these fun things and be
- 4:27Speaker 2: busy and all that.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Right, So definitely something that I was working on last month,
- 4:31Speaker 1: which I did a really good job at. But the
- 4:33Speaker 1: point is is that I think I just like wanted
- 4:35Speaker 1: the party to happen and just like enjoy the time
- 4:37Speaker 1: with my friends and my family, which I did. Enjoy
- 4:40Speaker 1: every aspect of it, and I'm so happy I did
- 4:42Speaker 1: do it. But I also was like low key kind
- 4:44Speaker 1: of happy was over because I'm like, Okay, I can
- 4:46Speaker 1: kind of like finally like not have to stress about
- 4:49Speaker 1: anything and just kind of focus on really just the
- 4:51Speaker 1: house now, which is us, you know, moving out of
- 4:54Speaker 1: this house and moving into a new house and just
- 4:56Speaker 1: kind of like prepping for a move because we move
- 4:59Speaker 1: in like four which is really gonna fly by, like
- 5:02Speaker 1: it really does go by so fast. So I'm really
- 5:04Speaker 1: just trying to prep for that and understand that that's
- 5:07Speaker 1: our main priority right now. And yeah, that's just like
- 5:10Speaker 1: something that I really wanted to get out of the way.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Was just my birthday, and yeah, we had literally the
- 5:16Speaker 1: best time ever. If you guys didn't see on Instagram
- 5:18Speaker 1: or TikTok, I ended up renting a barn because here
- 5:21Speaker 1: in Ottawa, I feel like a lot of the wedding
- 5:23Speaker 1: venues or just venues in general, are very like country
- 5:27Speaker 1: western theme. There is the odd one that's a bit modern,
- 5:30Speaker 1: but I wasn't really wanting to do a modern look.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know, I just kind of had this urge
- 5:35Speaker 1: to do like a western theme party. And I've seen
- 5:37Speaker 1: a lot of like Pinterest images of people doing like
- 5:41Speaker 1: western theme like bacherettes or western theme engagement parties, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, I'm going to a Western
- 5:46Speaker 1: theme for my thirtieth but make it like western elegance themes.
- 5:50Speaker 1: So everyone dresses up. No one had any idea what
- 5:53Speaker 1: the theme was when they showed up. I actually had
- 5:55Speaker 1: cowboy hats that I ordered for everybody. Everyone got to
- 5:58Speaker 1: pick up a cowboy hat. I had like cute little
- 6:01Speaker 1: champagne glasses with cowboy hats on them. That way they
- 6:03Speaker 1: can grab a glass of champagne, which kind of brings
- 6:05Speaker 1: in the elegance aspect. And then obviously like the barn
- 6:09Speaker 1: was very elevated. It wasn't like a rustic barn. It
- 6:11Speaker 1: was very modernized. We had a cute photo back drop,
- 6:15Speaker 1: we had a live band, we had casino tables, like.
- 6:17Speaker 3: It was truly such a fun night.
- 6:20Speaker 1: We had about fifty five people come, which was the
- 6:23Speaker 1: perfect amount of people. The barn was actually quite small,
- 6:26Speaker 1: like it wasn't like overly big. It was perfect for
- 6:30Speaker 1: like a reception for a wedding basically right, so it
- 6:33Speaker 1: was still big, but just like the perfect size for
- 6:35Speaker 1: fifty five people, Like if there was one hundred people
- 6:37Speaker 1: in there, it definitely would have felt very claustrophobic.
- 6:39Speaker 2: We had a dance floor.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Going, we had obviously a bar going, and we had
- 6:43Speaker 1: like a little get ready room so I could get
- 6:45Speaker 1: ready in there before people started.
- 6:47Speaker 3: To show up.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I hired a photographer because I didn't want to have
- 6:50Speaker 1: to stress about photos throughout the night, So I had
- 6:53Speaker 1: a photographer to take all my picks, which was great.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And then one of my best friends, Laurie, she works
- 6:58Speaker 1: for an agency and like manages social medi the accounts
- 7:00Speaker 1: and help some like film content, and she offered to
- 7:03Speaker 1: help me for my birthday, which was so so incredible
- 7:07Speaker 1: to have her help throughout the night for content, just
- 7:09Speaker 1: because again I didn't want to have to stress about that.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And so we spent like twenty five minutes before people
- 7:15Speaker 1: started to show up doing like solo photos content and
- 7:18Speaker 1: then literally as we were done, a lot of people
- 7:20Speaker 1: were showing up. But I'm like, okay, this is perfect,
- 7:22Speaker 1: like literally the perfect timing. I didn't want to have
- 7:24Speaker 1: to like film content with all my friends being there,
- 7:26Speaker 1: even though they don't care, like they know obviously it's
- 7:29Speaker 1: my job. But the point is is that everything kind
- 7:31Speaker 1: of flowed with the perfect timing. And then the party
- 7:34Speaker 1: went till like twelve thirty, I want to say, and
- 7:37Speaker 1: by the time we like cleaned up the venue got home,
- 7:39Speaker 1: it was like two thirty in the morning, which I
- 7:42Speaker 1: never stay up that late, Like, oh my goodness, I
- 7:44Speaker 1: was so tired. And of course Zach and I were
- 7:47Speaker 1: like craving a and w at two o'clock in the morning,
- 7:50Speaker 1: and we sat in the drive through for like forty
- 7:53Speaker 1: five minutes because there was like a family of twelve
- 7:55Speaker 1: in this minivan, and of course, no one's going to
- 7:59Speaker 1: a drive through one am, so I'm sure there wasn't
- 8:01Speaker 1: that much staff.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Anyways, we like sat in that.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Drive through for forty five minutes. We're like, oh my god,
- 8:06Speaker 1: this was such a stupid idea. And then we got
- 8:08Speaker 1: home and we ate the sweep ptato fries and burgers
- 8:10Speaker 1: and we're like, okay, wait, this was worth it. Anyways,
- 8:13Speaker 1: we just had a really fun night and I felt
- 8:15Speaker 1: like it was hungover the next day, which I definitely
- 8:17Speaker 1: wasn't because I only had like a few drinks. But
- 8:19Speaker 1: I felt like I was more hungover from like being tired,
- 8:22Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like when you feel like
- 8:23Speaker 1: you haven't gone enough sleep and you just feel exhausted.
- 8:27Speaker 1: That's exactly how I felt on Sunday. And of course
- 8:29Speaker 1: it was Easter and we had like Easter plans with family,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, I feel so hungover right now, even
- 8:34Speaker 1: though I'm not, I'm just like hungover from being tired.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And the last thing I wanted to do was like
- 8:38Speaker 1: put makeup on my face and go to a dinner.
- 8:40Speaker 3: But we did it.
- 8:41Speaker 1: We showed up for family. We had the best time
- 8:43Speaker 1: and a great Easter. Anyways, I think the greatest gift
- 8:46Speaker 1: of all from that weekend was it was Easter weekend,
- 8:49Speaker 1: and I honestly wasn't expecting a lot of people to
- 8:51Speaker 1: come because of it being Easter. I assumed a lot
- 8:53Speaker 1: of people had Easter plans with family, but I literally
- 8:57Speaker 1: had basically everybody show up. I think I only had
- 8:59Speaker 1: like six or seven guests that couldn't come, and that
- 9:02Speaker 1: was it. Like everybody showed up, like after Easter dinner.
- 9:05Speaker 1: It's like they would make the effort to come to
- 9:07Speaker 1: the venue to you know, celebrate me, celebrate the night,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and it just meant so much to me to like
- 9:11Speaker 1: see all my friends actually like make the effort to come,
- 9:14Speaker 1: And that was the greatest gift of all, just seeing
- 9:17Speaker 1: all my friends there and being able to celebrate my
- 9:21Speaker 1: thirtieth going into a new decade, and yeah, I'm just
- 9:25Speaker 1: so excited to see what this year brings and what
- 9:28Speaker 1: this new decade brings. So incredibly grateful to also do
- 9:30Speaker 1: that with Zach.
- 9:31Speaker 3: So I think it's going to be the.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Best years yet and I can't wait to share more
- 9:38Speaker 1: of my life with you guys throughout my thirties. Okay,
- 9:40Speaker 1: so now let's get into today's episode, which is really
- 9:43Speaker 1: just about feeling yourself again. And I wanted to share
- 9:47Speaker 1: this journey of me getting back into a routine and
- 9:49Speaker 1: just thought it'd be a good opportunity just to kind
- 9:51Speaker 1: of really chat about things that I'm doing this spring
- 9:54Speaker 1: to feel myself again and just find motivation again. So firstly,
- 9:58Speaker 1: let's talk about April goals for a second, because I
- 10:00Speaker 1: think writing down three goals each month is the best
- 10:04Speaker 1: way to keep yourself motivated. In my opinion, I always
- 10:06Speaker 1: give myself three goals each month because for me, that's
- 10:09Speaker 1: what feeds my motivation. It's like something that I can
- 10:12Speaker 1: look back at and reflect on, Okay, what was my
- 10:15Speaker 1: goal this month? Like what do I want to be
- 10:17Speaker 1: able to do for myself? And then I feel like
- 10:19Speaker 1: it creates a consistent habit of doing something. And then
- 10:22Speaker 1: obviously being consistent is better than just like having the
- 10:26Speaker 1: odd motivation times, you know what I mean, Like, being
- 10:28Speaker 1: consistent at something is really the key to success in
- 10:32Speaker 1: life in my opinion.
- 10:33Speaker 3: So last month, one.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Of my biggest goals was to manage my stress, and
- 10:37Speaker 1: I personally think I did a really good job at that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I personally had a really busy month with work. I
- 10:44Speaker 1: had a lot of brand deals coming in, and I
- 10:46Speaker 1: actually turned down a lot of work opportunities because I
- 10:50Speaker 1: told myself that I was going to slow down this month.
- 10:52Speaker 1: It wasn't something that I wanted to you know, over
- 10:55Speaker 1: commit to things and then put myself in a very
- 10:57Speaker 1: stressful situation again. So I was really proud of myself
- 11:01Speaker 1: for that, because I am that kind of person where
- 11:02Speaker 1: I don't like to say no to work opportunities, but
- 11:05Speaker 1: I had to put my health first and you know,
- 11:08Speaker 1: manage my stress levels. And you know, I was also
- 11:10Speaker 1: figuring out ways to meditate. You know, I found like
- 11:13Speaker 1: YouTube videos that were like ten minutes and I would
- 11:15Speaker 1: do that like twice a week, just to really focus
- 11:18Speaker 1: on my breathing. And one thing that I tend to
- 11:21Speaker 1: do when I'm stressed, and I don't know if anyone
- 11:23Speaker 1: else feels this way for themselves, is that my shoulders
- 11:25Speaker 1: kind of creep up and then they get like really
- 11:28Speaker 1: really tight, and I almost realize, like, you know, twenty
- 11:31Speaker 1: minutes later, I'm like, oh my God, like why am
- 11:33Speaker 1: I so tight? And then I realize, oh, my goodness,
- 11:35Speaker 1: my shoulders are like up to my ears and I
- 11:37Speaker 1: guess that is a sign of like stress, Like it's
- 11:40Speaker 1: something that your body does when they feel this pressure
- 11:43Speaker 1: of a lot of stress coming into your body. And
- 11:45Speaker 1: so I've been trying to find ways to really just
- 11:47Speaker 1: like relax my shoulders, relax my body, do things that
- 11:51Speaker 1: make me feel more relaxed by like doing deep breathing,
- 11:54Speaker 1: doing meditations, taking a step back from things that you know,
- 11:58Speaker 1: kind of like make me feel really anxious. And so
- 12:01Speaker 1: this month, my goal is to really manage my anxiety.
- 12:05Speaker 3: So feel like I've definitely mastered the stress.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Now I'm starting to focus on how can I manage
- 12:10Speaker 1: my anxiety better because I feel like I've been really
- 12:14Speaker 1: anxious lately. I don't know why. I don't know what
- 12:16Speaker 1: has came. Maybe it's from turning thirty. I have no idea.
- 12:20Speaker 1: But one thing that I've been doing to kind of
- 12:22Speaker 1: like ease my anxiety is definitely reduce my caffeine intake.
- 12:25Speaker 1: So I've actually been switching my coffees to decaf coffees
- 12:29Speaker 1: just because that was something that I noticed that it
- 12:31Speaker 1: really spiked when I was just finishing up my coffee
- 12:35Speaker 1: and I'm like, hey, well, this is a sign that's
- 12:36Speaker 1: like not making the anxiety better. So I switched to decaf,
- 12:39Speaker 1: so that's been helping actually a lot these past few days.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I also booked a acupuncture appointment, which have you been
- 12:46Speaker 1: following me on TikTok and Instagram, then you know that
- 12:48Speaker 1: I had a pretty bad experience a few weeks ago
- 12:52Speaker 1: with a acupuncture clinic, and you know, the guy was
- 12:56Speaker 1: just doing his thing, like It's not like what he
- 12:58Speaker 1: did was bad. It was more so just wasn't something
- 13:00Speaker 1: that I was expecting. I was expecting a very different
- 13:02Speaker 1: experience than what I had, even though what I had
- 13:05Speaker 1: was still a typical acupuncture experience, I just thought it
- 13:09Speaker 1: would be a little different. So a bunch of girls
- 13:12Speaker 1: in Ottawa actually dms me recommending this one spot called
- 13:15Speaker 1: Refine I Believe and it's in the Glebe and they said,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I need to go see this girl. So I actually
- 13:20Speaker 1: booked in a point with her. So I will keep
- 13:22Speaker 1: you guys posted on how that goes. But I know
- 13:25Speaker 1: that's going to really help manage my stress and just
- 13:29Speaker 1: help really relax my body. All about relaxing, I've also
- 13:33Speaker 1: been trying to get massages once a month, more so
- 13:36Speaker 1: for my back injury, but also another way to relax
- 13:39Speaker 1: the body not feel his stress. So we're really just
- 13:42Speaker 1: trying to go into April with a more chill mindset again,
- 13:46Speaker 1: removing any anxiety stress that I've been feeling. Also kind
- 13:52Speaker 1: of unfollowing people that maybe make me feel a little
- 13:55Speaker 1: bit anxious. I kind of wanted to talk about that
- 13:58Speaker 1: for the next goal, which is not putting too much
- 14:01Speaker 1: pressure on myself to be perfect, because there's definitely a
- 14:04Speaker 1: lot of influencers out there that I follow that like
- 14:06Speaker 1: really portray their life as like this perfect life with
- 14:09Speaker 1: the perfect house and the perfect partner, and like, you know,
- 14:13Speaker 1: for all, I know, like some of you guys might
- 14:15Speaker 1: feel that way about me and how I portray myself
- 14:17Speaker 1: on social media. But I've been really trying to not
- 14:21Speaker 1: always have the most perfect content. I've been trying to
- 14:25Speaker 1: kind of branch out and also show the moments where
- 14:28Speaker 1: I feel more real and I don't know, just like
- 14:31Speaker 1: not have the pressure of like filming the most perfect
- 14:33Speaker 1: video ever. I've been trying to do more like talking
- 14:35Speaker 1: style videos, longer vlogs. I don't know, it's just something
- 14:39Speaker 1: I've been like really gravitating towards. And it's kind of
- 14:42Speaker 1: obviously a change in my content, which can sometimes be
- 14:45Speaker 1: scary when you change things up a bit. I've also
- 14:47Speaker 1: just been having this like urged to kind of change
- 14:49Speaker 1: things up a little bit. And you know, on the
- 14:51Speaker 1: days where maybe I don't feel like I want to film,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I almost like want to push myself to film because
- 14:56Speaker 1: it shows the real raw side to me of like
- 15:00Speaker 1: still showing up and like not always being aesthetic. And
- 15:03Speaker 1: I don't know, I want to be filming moments where
- 15:06Speaker 1: like I feel off and like normalize that it's okay
- 15:09Speaker 1: to feel off and that's just the reality. And so
- 15:12Speaker 1: social media can obviously be a highlight reel where people
- 15:14Speaker 1: really just show the best sides of themselves. But I
- 15:17Speaker 1: really want to open up the opportunity of sharing both
- 15:19Speaker 1: sides where I can still have days where I feel
- 15:22Speaker 1: aesthetic and cute and have fun.
- 15:23Speaker 3: But also like real raw, stressed.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Anxious, you guys know what I mean. So I'm just
- 15:29Speaker 1: trying to like not put too much pressure on myself.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And I don't know, I've been kind of like muting
- 15:34Speaker 1: people who I feel like really portray like the perfect
- 15:36Speaker 1: life and all that, and it just kind of feels
- 15:39Speaker 1: really good to like only follow people that I think
- 15:41Speaker 1: are very authentic and very true, and I think it's
- 15:44Speaker 1: okay to like, you know, unfollower mute people then maybe
- 15:48Speaker 1: just don't feel right for you, if that makes sense.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So I don't think there's anything wrong with that, And
- 15:52Speaker 1: I think that's almost like a digital detalks and it's
- 15:55Speaker 1: like never say never. Maybe you can follow them back
- 15:57Speaker 1: again in the future if you're feeling a lot better
- 15:59Speaker 1: with yourself. But sometimes it's okay to take a bit
- 16:02Speaker 1: of a break and follow people that really bring you
- 16:04Speaker 1: comfort and joy for someone that might make you feel
- 16:06Speaker 1: anxious or stressed or this pressure that you have to
- 16:10Speaker 1: be perfect. So that's kind of like my tie into
- 16:13Speaker 1: social media and like how I want to portray myself,
- 16:16Speaker 1: especially being in my thirties. I think it's like a
- 16:18Speaker 1: nice way to kind of change things up, and it's
- 16:20Speaker 1: always fun to do something different on social media. And
- 16:23Speaker 1: then the last thing is walking outside more. I really
- 16:26Speaker 1: want to get to that ten to fifteen thousand step
- 16:28Speaker 1: count again. I felt like I made that a big
- 16:30Speaker 1: priority last summer, where I was, you know, doing two
- 16:34Speaker 1: to three walks a day, one in the morning, when
- 16:36Speaker 1: at lunch, one in the evening, and.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I love being outside, I love moving my body, and
- 16:42Speaker 1: obviously now that the weather's finally getting nicer, I just
- 16:45Speaker 1: really want to make it a priority to get.
- 16:48Speaker 3: That step count in.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Again, we haven't had the most perfect spring yet, I
- 16:53Speaker 1: would say, like I kind of said in the beginning,
- 16:55Speaker 1: but we had a snow day yesterday, and then this
- 16:57Speaker 1: morning all the snow melted because the web is getting warmer.
- 17:01Speaker 1: It's just kind of like the odd day where it'll
- 17:02Speaker 1: be really really nice and then really really shitty. So
- 17:06Speaker 1: I'm just trying to like make it a priority where
- 17:07Speaker 1: if it's like a really nice day, I need to
- 17:09Speaker 1: like force myself to go outside walk get that sunlight in.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And then the days that.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Are like rainy or snowy, you know, I don't have
- 17:16Speaker 1: to force myself. But anyways, I just really want to
- 17:19Speaker 1: enjoy some sunlight, enjoy some walking, some movement, and just
- 17:23Speaker 1: really prioritize that this month, because obviously April is one
- 17:27Speaker 1: step closer to May, which to me, May is like
- 17:30Speaker 1: the start of summer in my opinion, because the weather
- 17:32Speaker 1: finally gets really nice out and more enjoyable, and April's
- 17:36Speaker 1: just kind of like the small step towards that also
- 17:39Speaker 1: super random. But I was at the grocery store this
- 17:42Speaker 1: morning and they were setting up the greenhouse for all
- 17:45Speaker 1: the flowers, and I was like, oh my gosh, this
- 17:48Speaker 1: could not be more summer vibes. In my opinion, it
- 17:51Speaker 1: just screamed excitement for me. I was like, oh my god,
- 17:54Speaker 1: we're finally like over that hump of just the shitty winters.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And anyways, it was like the best thing to see
- 17:59Speaker 1: you today. It's funny because if you live in Texas
- 18:02Speaker 1: or Australia or like anywhere that's like constantly warm, I
- 18:05Speaker 1: feel like you don't get the high that US Canadians
- 18:07Speaker 1: are feeling, or any Americans that might be living in
- 18:10Speaker 1: all four seasons.
- 18:11Speaker 3: There is this high.
- 18:12Speaker 1: That you feel when the weather gets warmer and you've
- 18:15Speaker 1: been living in the cold weather for so long, so anyways,
- 18:18Speaker 1: you might not be able to relate if you live
- 18:19Speaker 1: in the warmer states. But anyways, we're feeling so good
- 18:22Speaker 1: here in Canada knowing that the weather's getting warmer. Let's
- 18:26Speaker 1: get into my little spring refresh checklist. This is kind
- 18:29Speaker 1: of like things that I am doing myself going into
- 18:33Speaker 1: this season of how I can feel myself again one
- 18:36Speaker 1: of them being an environment reset, So clean your space,
- 18:39Speaker 1: clean your room, declutter, change your bedsheets, like do something
- 18:44Speaker 1: that makes you feel like you put the effort in
- 18:46Speaker 1: yourself because you're cleaning your environment. I feel like a
- 18:50Speaker 1: clean home makes me feel ten times better. And when
- 18:54Speaker 1: I have a messy home, I'm feeling anxious. I'm feeling stressed,
- 18:57Speaker 1: like literally something that I think everyone can feel that,
- 19:01Speaker 1: like the clean house is just the way we all
- 19:03Speaker 1: want it to be.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Twenty four to seven.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I love the idea of changing your bed sheets to
- 19:08Speaker 1: a new season. So obviously, with spring around the corner,
- 19:11Speaker 1: it could be fun to like change your bedding to
- 19:13Speaker 1: something that makes you feel like spring is here. Whether
- 19:16Speaker 1: it's like a floral bedding, you know, fun colors like pink,
- 19:20Speaker 1: a sage, green, a blue, or maybe it's something that's
- 19:23Speaker 1: more neutral, like going with like white bedding or stripes,
- 19:26Speaker 1: like something that makes you feel like spring is here.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I love changing my bedding to a new season. I
- 19:33Speaker 1: feel like it just brings some excitement and joy to
- 19:36Speaker 1: a new season. Decluttering is another big one. I am
- 19:40Speaker 1: definitely decluttering my entire closet this weekend.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I also have like a lot.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Of pr that I need to get rid of.
- 19:46Speaker 1: So just like a lot of stuff that is like
- 19:49Speaker 1: in my room and I'm like, this needs to get out.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And I also have a lot of returns, so I'm like, okay,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I need to make returns and just like drop them
- 19:56Speaker 1: off at.
- 19:56Speaker 3: The UPS store.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I need to declutter my space, like just trying to
- 20:00Speaker 1: make those things a priority, just because I know if
- 20:02Speaker 1: I do those things, I'm going to feel so so
- 20:05Speaker 1: good after. Also, just like opening your windows again now
- 20:08Speaker 1: that the weather is feeling nicer, we can actually let
- 20:10Speaker 1: some fresh air in the house feels way better with
- 20:14Speaker 1: the windows open in my opinion, like we'll turn the
- 20:16Speaker 1: AC off and just open all the windows in the house.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And there's also that nice smell that you get with
- 20:21Speaker 1: fresh air. I don't know, I think it's just like
- 20:24Speaker 1: one of the best feelings ever. So really, just making
- 20:26Speaker 1: an environment reset a big priority, I think is the
- 20:29Speaker 1: first step to a spring refresh. Another thing is a
- 20:33Speaker 1: mental reset, So kind of like what I talked about earlier,
- 20:36Speaker 1: but like un following and muting accounts that make you
- 20:39Speaker 1: feel off. So just if there's people that just don't
- 20:42Speaker 1: serve you anymore, or people that might be bothering you currently,
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's okay to mute them and just follow people that
- 20:49Speaker 1: make you feel good. You know, at the end of
- 20:51Speaker 1: the day, our mental health is the most important thing, and.
- 20:54Speaker 3: It's okay to do that.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Journaling is another big one I think for me when
- 20:58Speaker 1: I journal, I love to do a good brain dumb
- 21:01Speaker 1: How am I currently feeling expressing my gratitude, like just
- 21:04Speaker 1: being able to take those ten minutes to myself and
- 21:07Speaker 1: like really write out everything I'm feeling and just like
- 21:11Speaker 1: also planning my day out as well. I think it just.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Feels really good to start off.
- 21:15Speaker 1: My day that way, and something that I always kind
- 21:18Speaker 1: of go back and forth on into my routine, which
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think is very normal. I wouldn't say everybody has
- 21:23Speaker 1: a consistent journal routine from January to December. I think
- 21:26Speaker 1: everybody kind of has like a wave of, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: of the routine of just kind of like making that
- 21:32Speaker 1: a priority. And so I've finally gotten back into it
- 21:35Speaker 1: again and I've been feeling really good just like expressing
- 21:38Speaker 1: myself and finding a way to just like dump my thoughts.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I think that's so so crucial, and yeah, something that
- 21:45Speaker 1: I've been really trying to make a priority. Another thing
- 21:48Speaker 1: is is a routine reset, which is exactly what I'm.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Going through now.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I feel like, now that I have gotten my strength
- 21:55Speaker 1: back and I can finally start lifting weights doing reformer
- 21:59Speaker 1: pulls again, I'm really trying to figure out my new routine,
- 22:03Speaker 1: like what is my ideal routine going into this new season.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And I'm sure a lot of you guys might be
- 22:09Speaker 1: feeling the same way too. Obviously with the winter season
- 22:12Speaker 1: and the spring season, I feel like there could be
- 22:13Speaker 1: a huge adjustment in our routine of you know, trying
- 22:16Speaker 1: to be outside more, trying to prioritize my walks more,
- 22:20Speaker 1: or even changing up your workout split in general. Like
- 22:22Speaker 1: I feel like sometimes there's periods of times where I'm
- 22:25Speaker 1: obsessed with this one kind of workout, and then you know,
- 22:28Speaker 1: over time, I kind of get bored of it and
- 22:29Speaker 1: want to change it up and try something new. I
- 22:32Speaker 1: used to love spinning, I now don't really have any
- 22:34Speaker 1: need to do it. I just like don't crave it anymore. Now.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I crave reformer pilates or strength workouts, and so now
- 22:42Speaker 1: I've been trying to, you know, adjust my routine to
- 22:44Speaker 1: accommodating those things for myself. So I have not done
- 22:48Speaker 1: a lot of heavy weightlifting in a very long time,
- 22:50Speaker 1: so this is something that's new to me that I'm
- 22:52Speaker 1: bringing back into my routine, something I used to do
- 22:55Speaker 1: years ago, but something that I'm really trying to prioritize.
- 22:58Speaker 1: As with my back injury, it's really made me realize
- 23:01Speaker 1: that I need to balance pilates and strength training and.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Not just focus on one.
- 23:06Speaker 1: So my goal is to really do pilates twice a
- 23:10Speaker 1: week and then do a strength workout twice a week,
- 23:13Speaker 1: So four days a week, I want to do an
- 23:14Speaker 1: upper body day, a lower body day for strength, and
- 23:17Speaker 1: then two pilates classes a week. So that's kind of
- 23:20Speaker 1: how I'm like structuring my workout split when it comes
- 23:23Speaker 1: to my routine. But I'm also obviously prioritizing other things,
- 23:26Speaker 1: Like one thing that I really want to make a
- 23:28Speaker 1: priority this month is getting outside more, making sunlight a priority,
- 23:33Speaker 1: getting outside and walking more like that to me is
- 23:35Speaker 1: one habit that I haven't been doing a lot of
- 23:38Speaker 1: this past winter. So for me, my perfect spring morning
- 23:42Speaker 1: routine would be to walk every single morning, you know,
- 23:46Speaker 1: do the workout routine that I told myself I was
- 23:48Speaker 1: going to do every single week. Which is four times
- 23:50Speaker 1: a week, you know, eating better. Whatever the case, I
- 23:52Speaker 1: be like, there's obviously like a list of things. So
- 23:54Speaker 1: I always recommend that if you're the kind of person
- 23:56Speaker 1: that might be out of a routine right now, write
- 23:59Speaker 1: things down of how you envisioned your routine. Do you
- 24:03Speaker 1: envision yourself waking up earlier? Do you envision yourself waking
- 24:06Speaker 1: up later? Like kind of just like create the ideal
- 24:09Speaker 1: routine for yourself along with your night routine. If there's
- 24:11Speaker 1: something that you want to do in your night routine
- 24:13Speaker 1: that could be different into the spring season, change it up.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Like I feel like when I write things down, it's
- 24:18Speaker 1: like embedded in my head better If that makes sense.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I don't know if it makes sense anyone, but for me,
- 24:22Speaker 1: if I write it down, I kind of like have
- 24:24Speaker 1: it in my brain and I like stick to it.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Creating a routine for yourself I think is ideal, and
- 24:29Speaker 1: obviously making adjustments for a new season is also a
- 24:33Speaker 1: big priority. Next one is an energy reset. How can
- 24:36Speaker 1: we increase your energy levels?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Again?
- 24:38Speaker 1: So is it you know, changing up your sleeping schedule?
- 24:42Speaker 1: For me personally, I've really adjusted my sleep schedule. I
- 24:46Speaker 1: used to wake up at like five am, which I
- 24:49Speaker 1: would love to do again. Maybe in the summer, we
- 24:52Speaker 1: shall see, But right now, my body's been craving like
- 24:55Speaker 1: a six fifteen six thirty wake up, which for me
- 24:58Speaker 1: is kind of like a sleep in. Some times I
- 25:00Speaker 1: like to sleep until seven. It really just depends on
- 25:02Speaker 1: the day, but I like to wake up early. I
- 25:04Speaker 1: like to get my stretches in, just kind of do
- 25:07Speaker 1: my routine that I've been doing in the morning. But
- 25:09Speaker 1: because I wake up at that time, I also like
- 25:11Speaker 1: to go to bed earlier. So I used to go
- 25:13Speaker 1: to bed at like ten PM. Now I'm going to
- 25:14Speaker 1: bed at like nine fifteen, nine thirty, which is wild.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Some people might think that's crazy, but I don't know.
- 25:20Speaker 1: My husband wakes up at like three thirty four sometimes,
- 25:22Speaker 1: so he's usually a sleep by eight thirty. To be honest,
- 25:25Speaker 1: I'm usually up to like nine fifteen nine thirty. But
- 25:28Speaker 1: for me that's been working out really really well. I
- 25:30Speaker 1: think my average has been about ten hours of sleep
- 25:33Speaker 1: a night, which is really really good.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I think the main goal.
- 25:36Speaker 1: For everyone is usually eight, correct me if I'm wrong,
- 25:39Speaker 1: but I think I've been getting ten, which has been incredible.
- 25:43Speaker 1: So really prioritizing my sleep schedule has been a game
- 25:46Speaker 1: changer for me, especially for my energy levels. Another thing
- 25:49Speaker 1: that's been a game changer for me that has increased
- 25:51Speaker 1: my energy levels is making sure I've been eating enough food.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I think a lot of people sometimes don't realize that
- 25:59Speaker 1: they're under eating. That can play a huge impact of
- 26:01Speaker 1: how you feel throughout your day, and so eating enough
- 26:05Speaker 1: food really does make the biggest difference. So memeal prepping
- 26:09Speaker 1: again has been really nice, and I think that's just
- 26:11Speaker 1: like been a huge game changer of how my energy
- 26:14Speaker 1: is throughout the afternoon as well, and not having that
- 26:16Speaker 1: like mid day slum. Also, just like eating the right
- 26:19Speaker 1: foods is really important, So doing the research around like
- 26:22Speaker 1: eating healthier meals and recipes, and of course also like
- 26:25Speaker 1: aiming to find a workout routine for yourself, whether it's
- 26:28Speaker 1: working out you know, two times a week, three times
- 26:31Speaker 1: a week, four times a week, whatever works for you,
- 26:33Speaker 1: but creating a consistent workout schedule I think is also
- 26:36Speaker 1: a really big game changer when it comes to your energy.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Okay, so we got an environment reset.
- 26:40Speaker 1: We got a mental reset, we got a routine reset,
- 26:43Speaker 1: we have an energy reset.
- 26:44Speaker 2: The last one is a digital reset.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It is so important to really take a break from
- 26:49Speaker 1: our phones and get off social media. And I think
- 26:51Speaker 1: the more I feel anxious and stress, the more I
- 26:55Speaker 1: realize that I need to be off my phone more
- 26:57Speaker 1: and also just like prioritize, you know, being outside more,
- 27:01Speaker 1: getting my walks, in keeping myself busy by doing other
- 27:04Speaker 1: things versus always like scrolling on social media. I've chatted
- 27:07Speaker 1: about this before, but there is a tool called the Brick.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It's basically a little block that you can put on
- 27:14Speaker 1: your phone that literally completely shuts down certain social media
- 27:18Speaker 1: apps that you don't want to open. And I think
- 27:20Speaker 1: there's like a timer that basically is set for how
- 27:23Speaker 1: long you want the brick to be on, so it
- 27:25Speaker 1: could be the full day, it could be a few hours.
- 27:27Speaker 1: This is something that I really want to purchase for
- 27:29Speaker 1: myself because I think I have a really bad habit
- 27:31Speaker 1: of like naturally like going on my phone and just
- 27:34Speaker 1: opening social media since I feel like I'm constantly on
- 27:36Speaker 1: it with my job. But I know I need to
- 27:38Speaker 1: be better at, you know, taking breaks and not being
- 27:41Speaker 1: on my phone constantly. So that's definitely something that I've
- 27:44Speaker 1: been trying to work on. Another thing I really need
- 27:46Speaker 1: to do is clean out my camera roll. My camera
- 27:48Speaker 1: roll is literally crazy. I'm sure you guys can assume
- 27:53Speaker 1: with the amount of videos that I film and post,
- 27:55Speaker 1: Like I pay for the highest amount of storage with Apple.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm not even over exaggerating, and it's wild, Like my
- 28:01Speaker 1: phone is so slow sometimes and I'm like, it's literally
- 28:04Speaker 1: because my camerall is wild. So I try and like
- 28:07Speaker 1: clean it out every month, but like I'm only deleting
- 28:12Speaker 1: like maybe ten thousand things, and that's not even enough.
- 28:15Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 28:15Speaker 1: So I feel like I need a good camera roll
- 28:18Speaker 1: clean out. Sometimes I'm like, do I just buy a
- 28:21Speaker 1: second phone and then like kind of like restart there,
- 28:23Speaker 1: just because there's things on them obviously on my phone
- 28:25Speaker 1: that I don't ever want to delete, like my wedding
- 28:27Speaker 1: stuff or my.
- 28:30Speaker 3: What else, my house stuff all.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That, Like with this new house that we're building, obviously
- 28:34Speaker 1: I want to keep all that footage for memories. I
- 28:36Speaker 1: think I've actually talked about this before, and a lot
- 28:38Speaker 1: of you guys commented saying that I need to get
- 28:40Speaker 1: a hard drive or an external hard drive. If you
- 28:43Speaker 1: commented that, please send me the link of the hard
- 28:45Speaker 1: drive that you purchase for your phone. Because I literally
- 28:47Speaker 1: will buy it. I have a hard drive for my
- 28:49Speaker 1: YouTube videos, but I do not think it has the
- 28:53Speaker 1: amount of storage that I needed to have for my phone,
- 28:56Speaker 1: Like I need a massive external hard drive for all
- 29:00Speaker 1: the content that I have. So please send me a
- 29:03Speaker 1: link if you have a hard drive that you recommend
- 29:05Speaker 1: for photos and videos off your phone. Anyways, just a
- 29:08Speaker 1: digital reset, I think is so needed. And I think
- 29:10Speaker 1: it's just really really important to take breaks on your
- 29:12Speaker 1: phone and not be on social media too much and.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Just really prioritize other things.
- 29:17Speaker 1: And the last thing to me personally, like when it
- 29:20Speaker 1: comes to like feeling myself again and just kind of
- 29:23Speaker 1: like refreshing my mind. And you guys are gonna not
- 29:26Speaker 1: laugh Begures'm like, of course Killy's gonna say that. But
- 29:29Speaker 1: Pinterest is really my favorite app ever, and I've said
- 29:32Speaker 1: that so many times, but I really do go on
- 29:34Speaker 1: Pinterest a lot, especially during a new season, because I
- 29:37Speaker 1: find it's the one app that constantly inspires me and
- 29:41Speaker 1: constantly makes me feel like I'm building this life for
- 29:45Speaker 1: myself that I see myself, you know, doing in a
- 29:48Speaker 1: new season. So it could be outfits that I want
- 29:51Speaker 1: to wear for the new season. It could be hobbies
- 29:53Speaker 1: that I want to partake in into the new season.
- 29:56Speaker 1: It could be things that I want to you know,
- 29:58Speaker 1: style for my home into the spring season. It could
- 30:02Speaker 1: be oh, like this girl buys flowers all the time. Okay,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I want to be better at purchasing flowers for myself
- 30:08Speaker 1: each week so I have fresh flowers in my home. Like,
- 30:11Speaker 1: there's just always something on Pinterest that's always constantly inspiring
- 30:14Speaker 1: me and making me feel good going into a new season. So,
- 30:17Speaker 1: you know, some people might not think that that works
- 30:19Speaker 1: for them, but for me personally, I do really love
- 30:22Speaker 1: saving things on Pinterest during a new season, as it
- 30:25Speaker 1: inspires me to kind of envision my season, right, it
- 30:30Speaker 1: kind of envisions me, Okay, how do I see my
- 30:31Speaker 1: spring season? How do I want to dress? How do
- 30:34Speaker 1: I want to feel? What do I want to do? Like,
- 30:36Speaker 1: there's so many things that I just feel constantly inspired by,
- 30:38Speaker 1: and I don't really find like TikTok and Instagram really
- 30:41Speaker 1: like reflect that for myself for a new season, it's
- 30:44Speaker 1: always Pinterest. Pinterest is the only thing that I find
- 30:46Speaker 1: really inspires me going into a new season.
- 30:49Speaker 3: So that's kind of like my.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Ideal spring refresh checklist of like how I envision myself
- 30:55Speaker 1: feeling myself again for a new season, and things that
- 30:58Speaker 1: I can do that I can control to make myself
- 31:01Speaker 1: feel like myself again. Well that is today's episode. I
- 31:04Speaker 1: hope you guys enjoyed it. A lot of chatting in
- 31:07Speaker 1: terms of just kind of like goals that I have
- 31:09Speaker 1: for myself, things that I'm doing to kind of get
- 31:12Speaker 1: myself back on track now that I'm feeling motivated and
- 31:15Speaker 1: ready to take on my routine again, and just finally
- 31:19Speaker 1: being over that hump of my back injury and just
- 31:21Speaker 1: dealing with that. It was such a difficult journey on
- 31:24Speaker 1: my mental health, and I finally feel like I'm in
- 31:26Speaker 1: a better state and I'm working on myself constantly, And
- 31:29Speaker 1: I think that's the main goal, is that like, you're
- 31:31Speaker 1: never going to feel like you're perfect. You're always going
- 31:34Speaker 1: to just feel like you're working hard to create a
- 31:37Speaker 1: better version of yourself. And I think that's so so normalized,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and I think it's so so okay to always become.
- 31:44Speaker 2: A better version of yourself.
- 31:46Speaker 1: But if you're new, definitely make sure to follow me
- 31:48Speaker 1: on Instagram TikTok. I'm also on YouTube, But thank you
- 31:51Speaker 1: guys so much for listening to another episode. I love
- 31:53Speaker 1: you all, and I will see you guys in next
