- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:14Hi, I'm Larry. Hi, I'm Paulie.
- 0:17I like to be hugged. I like to be hugged.
- 0:19Hi, I'm Larry. Hi, I'm Paulie.
- 0:21Wanna play? Wanna play?
- 0:24Least favorite Scary movie The podcast where we talk about the
- 0:27good, bad, ugly and absurd in all of our.
- 0:29Favorite and least favorite scary movies Because we believe
- 0:32every horror movie rightfully has its fan base even.
- 0:34If we don't always get it. My name is Travis.
- 0:36My name is Jessie, and guess what?
- 0:39Back, back, back again in the world of trance play.
- 0:43Woo. OK.
- 0:45Do I have an announcements? I don't think I have an
- 0:47announcements. OK.
- 0:48So I think we can go straight to the poll.
- 0:51Our poll. All right, Well, everybody, we
- 0:53talked about they live last week.
- 0:55And a hot topic on that episode is if I can beat up John
- 0:59Carpenter or not. So that's why we made the poll
- 1:02for the episode. Who would win in a fight, me or
- 1:05John Carpenter? And this has been a humbling
- 1:07experience. So over on Instagram, 73% voted
- 1:16for John Carpenter, 27 me. And over on Twitter, 86% John
- 1:23Carpenter and 14% me. Plus our pal Doc who said why
- 1:29would they fight? They're both Kentuckians who
- 1:31love horror movies. Doc is team sit at the bar and
- 1:34have a whiskey. I like that I should.
- 1:36I wish it was a third option now, man.
- 1:42Like, I got it. You got to believe in yourself.
- 1:46So I'm going to believe in myself here.
- 1:48I think I can take him. I love you.
- 1:51I think you're amazing and that you can put any.
- 1:53You can do anything you put your mind to, but my money is on
- 1:57carpentry. Yeah, see, it's even from the
- 2:00people closest to me. This is where it's coming from.
- 2:03But you know what, everybody, that's a lesson.
- 2:06Stick strong to yourself. Believe in yourself.
- 2:09Yeah, if you can believe it, you can achieve it.
- 2:12That's right, I'm sticking with myself.
- 2:14I'm betting on myself as they put it.
- 2:17OK. Yeah.
- 2:18All right. I respect that.
- 2:20All right. Now we're on to Child's Play 3.
- 2:25I'm already dying. OK, now we're on to Child's Play
- 2:293. Oh, OK.
- 2:30I thought we were keeping that OK.
- 2:31No, we probably will, but you know.
- 2:33OK, Yeah, this. Is a fun little restart let's go
- 2:35ahead and go for that again yeah yeah.
- 2:37So Child's Play Three released August 30th, 1991, Labor Day,
- 2:41according to Don Mancini himself in 1991.
- 2:45That was not a good sign for your movie that's.
- 2:47So that's kind of wild, I guess. Like I think anymore holiday
- 2:51weekends are a big thing. Yeah, I think that might have
- 2:54changed since then. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:57So, but apparently it was not a good time for this.
- 2:59And I've got more information about that company.
- 3:02We watched it on our fork. And if you don't have the fork,
- 3:07it is currently available to stream on Netflix, or you can
- 3:09rent it from Prime, YouTube, Google Player, Fandango at home,
- 3:13Formerly Video. Yeah, the rights for these, if
- 3:15you are listening sometime in the future, they bounce around.
- 3:18I've seen it on Tubi recently too, so you'll be able to find
- 3:21it somewhere. Yeah, it's pretty much,
- 3:23especially this time of year, that's a pretty popular
- 3:27franchise to have streaming. Yeah, for sure.
- 3:30Written by Don Mancini, directed by Jack Bender, music by John
- 3:34Dandrea and Cory Lenos, special effects makeup by Craig Reardon,
- 3:39and the doll was done by Kevin Yeager Productions.
- 3:44I saw he had his own production company.
- 3:45Now I know. Come on man.
- 3:48You could get a little bit more creative with the name Kevin
- 3:51Yeager Productions. All the creativity for making
- 3:53dolls OK. OK, fine.
- 3:57If you get creative with your name and creative with dolls,
- 3:59then you turn into a double worshipper named Long Legs.
- 4:02So let's not. Go there.
- 4:04But that's a cool name. Yeah, but then you're also like
- 4:08a serial killer who's obsessed with glam rock.
- 4:10He's all right. Maybe that's spoiling shit and
- 4:16we'll we'll bleep that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:18OK, Starring Justin Whalen is Andy Barkley, Perry Reeves is
- 4:24Dasilva, Jeremy Silver's is Tyler Travis, Fine is Shelton,
- 4:28Dean Jacobson is Whitehurst, Dakin Matthews is Colonel
- 4:31Cochran, Andrew Robinson is Sergeant Botnick and Brad Duriff
- 4:35as Chucky Travis. It's time for our favorite game.
- 4:40Budget. They were really rolling with
- 4:45these. Man, that's tough.
- 4:47I I still feel like it's a cheap franchise, so I'm gonna say bug
- 4:50Ted, but I'm gonna say higher bug Ted.
- 4:52No, it's a juicy little budget. Is it 13 million?
- 4:56Wow, good for them. OK.
- 4:58Yeah, yeah. I guess that makes sense.
- 5:00Opening box office is 5.7 million, OK, and worldwide gross
- 5:04is 20.5 million. That's not terrible.
- 5:08They talk about this like it was a big failure, but that's not
- 5:11terrible for that time. It's still it didn't.
- 5:15It didn't recruit what it needed to recruit.
- 5:19I get whoa. It probably did in the whole
- 5:22media. Well, that's true.
- 5:24See. That's that's where people get
- 5:25that mixed up now they talk about it now and it's true, but
- 5:28if you apply that sit back in the day that doesn't, that
- 5:31doesn't work because they that was a boom in business.
- 5:34OK yeah, IMDb score 5.2 out of 10.
- 5:41That's I'm going to call it a little rude personally, a tad.
- 5:48Personally I think it's rude, but also from being a defender
- 5:53of both this one and Seed of Chucky, I am pleasantly
- 5:58surprised. I'm scared to see what seed of.
- 6:00Chucky, I'm very nervous. I'm very.
- 6:02Nervous it's I. My prediction is sub five.
- 6:07I, I'm very nervous, yeah. And we'll talk about that one
- 6:12more, but I I have a lot of love for that one and I will always
- 6:15defend it. And based spoiler for the
- 6:18upcoming Fun facts, Don Mancini agrees.
- 6:20Yeah OK, I have 3 movies from 1991 to have a comparison both
- 6:27in score and budget and my theme is fuck them kids.
- 6:31Fuck them kids. And that's all inclusive.
- 6:33It could mean that the kid is evil, that the kid is being
- 6:36killed. OK, the first one is the Omen
- 6:39for the Awakening that released May 20th, 1991.
- 6:43And apparently I'm going to say it was probably straight to
- 6:46video because there is no budget.
- 6:48We're gross listed. That makes sense, yeah.
- 6:50And it's got a score of 3.9 out of.
- 6:54Yeah, man, I I wanna watch those movies.
- 6:56That's the that's one that we still have not seen.
- 6:59Do you really? Need to go on the exploration of
- 7:00that franchise. I think October's gonna be a
- 7:02prime time for that stuff, maybe for the show and for the.
- 7:07The people behind the show, OK, second one.
- 7:12I know for a fact we know this one and the whole franchise
- 7:15because we've covered it. Freddy's dead.
- 7:18The final nightmare. Wait, which one is that again?
- 7:21I can't. Remember, that's the one that I
- 7:23hate. You hate it.
- 7:25It's the 6th, 1:00. Is that the 6th 1:00?
- 7:27Pretty sure. Freddy Stitt, That's the last
- 7:29one. That's the very.
- 7:31Last one New nightmare's the very last one well.
- 7:33Yeah, but that's the last one of the original timeline.
- 7:38New Nightmare's like a reimagining.
- 7:39Type of thing, yeah. Yeah, okay, yeah, it's not the
- 7:43strongest, but there was a thing.
- 7:46People talked shit about that one too.
- 7:48And I remember watching it and I was expecting it to be terrible,
- 7:50but I really liked how much fun they had with Freddie in that
- 7:54one. I just, I just got silly.
- 7:57I wanted the tone to be more consistent than it was.
- 8:00I think was my problem that I had with it.
- 8:01Yeah, that franchise just progressively got more and more
- 8:04silly each time. OK, it premiered or it released
- 8:08September 13th, 1991 had a budget of 11,000,000 and a
- 8:13worldwide gross of 34.8 million. That puts it into perspective.
- 8:18And an IMDb score 4.7 out of 10. Wow yeah, see those movies
- 8:23fucking killed. Yeah, Yeah.
- 8:25They're always going to be money makers.
- 8:28OK. Third one, partial exposure to
- 8:31the franchise. You've stated that you want more
- 8:35and we have covered part of it. OK.
- 8:39Basket Case 3 The progeny the. Progeny.
- 8:44Bilal has a baby. For real.
- 8:46Yeah, Bobby Bilal. We got to watch those movies.
- 8:51How the fuck does Blau? I I don't know, I'm having the
- 8:56same biological concerns as you about that.
- 9:00Yeah, we'll. Get a little blau over here on
- 9:02our. Show penis for our Belisle up
- 9:04there, did you? He could have done it himself.
- 9:06Did you, did you mean I did not? OK, just making sure.
- 9:10No, it felt like you were kind of avoiding the question for a.
- 9:132nd no, I'm just admiring him. He's up there wearing his crown.
- 9:17Yeah, he's very. He's payment.
- 9:18He's regal. Yeah.
- 9:19OK, that released in October 1991 in Italy.
- 9:23In Italy. That's where its premiere was.
- 9:25Weird. Yeah, those Italians though,
- 9:29they get wild. They're like we learned that
- 9:31last night with Cemetery Man. Dude, you go over to Italy and
- 9:34it's just like nothing but like still today basket case merge
- 9:38and stuff like that, like advertisements.
- 9:41I don't have a budget or gross for this one either.
- 9:45It does have a 4.8 out of 10 on IMDb, so just the second highest
- 9:49rated out of our list, falling just behind Child's Play 3.
- 9:52Damn man, that's crazy that it was not not high rating.
- 9:55Well, I don't know, those are weird.
- 9:59They're, yeah, they're. The first one has a high rating,
- 10:01but you know, I don't know anything about the sequel so.
- 10:03Yeah, I have a decent little list of tag lines and by decent
- 10:09I mean it exactly filled the the blanks on my worksheet.
- 10:13It's pretty decent. So there comes a time to put
- 10:18away childish things, but some things won't stay put.
- 10:22I kind of like that. That's pretty good.
- 10:24Yeah. Is that is that the one on the
- 10:26poster? Yes, that is the one on the
- 10:28poster. There's actually 2 on the
- 10:29poster. The second one is almost treated
- 10:31as like a subtitle in the trailers.
- 10:37It's look who's stalking. I like that.
- 10:40All too. That's a lot of fun.
- 10:42That would make a lot more sense if Chucky was more of a stalker.
- 10:45But like Chucky's pretty direct with this approach, especially
- 10:48in this movie he's. Stalking.
- 10:51He's not like you're thinking of like stalking, like stalking
- 10:54prey. I'm thinking stalker, like
- 10:57creepy obsessed stalker. And he's definitely stalking.
- 11:00Andy. Andy he was.
- 11:02And then he had found a new target.
- 11:04Yeah, OK. Chucky goes ballistic.
- 11:09OK, sure. Ballistic.
- 11:11I guess it's kind of like military.
- 11:14Yeah, it. It works enough, and then
- 11:17finally Chucky has a new playmate.
- 11:23OK. All right, Yeah.
- 11:27I'm thinking in my head of like better military themed tag
- 11:31lines. Yeah.
- 11:33But well, we'll put we'll put that to the test ourselves here
- 11:37in a little bit. Yeah.
- 11:38OK, OK, I got some fun facts. These first little bit comes
- 11:41from an interview with Don Mancini on our 4K called Ride
- 11:46the Frightening. So you know, we got a pun and a
- 11:50little Metallica there. So Universal wanted to get this
- 11:54maybe started ASAP and by that they had done start writing the
- 12:00script before the second one even released.
- 12:04So yeah. He was already working on that
- 12:06when it premiered. He actually was already like
- 12:08turning in pages of the script and they were trying to think of
- 12:12a way to keep it fresh. And they thought that a time
- 12:15jump might be helpful. And they also thought that the
- 12:17setting of like military school might be fun and interesting.
- 12:21Give them something to work with.
- 12:23That's a good point. Yeah.
- 12:25You know, I didn't really think with it being the third one that
- 12:28you need to like fully age people up yet, but it doesn't
- 12:33hurt it. Yeah, it's, I mean, it, it
- 12:36definitely it because he said he wanted to keep it away from like
- 12:39Andy always being teeny tiny and young.
- 12:42But then it's also kind of confusing because they bring in
- 12:45Tyler because he's meant to be younger.
- 12:46They bring in another kid. Yeah, this is the least
- 12:50successful of the franchise at the box office, and it's often
- 12:54quoted as the least favorite by the fan base.
- 12:56And Don said, you know, sometimes tied with Seed of
- 12:58Chucky, but those people are wrong.
- 13:02I like that he's defensive for Seed of Chucky as well.
- 13:05I can't wait to talk about that one.
- 13:07But he said, you know, looking back on it, he thinks that the
- 13:10script definitely needed a little bit more work.
- 13:12And he owns up to that. He was working on other scripts
- 13:15at the time as well and he was just tired.
- 13:17Yeah, he was doing like ATV show or something, I think he said.
- 13:20And, you know, I I respect him for owning up to it, but I I
- 13:24just don't get the criticism that people have for this movie,
- 13:28even the things that he were or he was saying.
- 13:30Like I'm like, well, hey, man, don't be too hard on yourself.
- 13:33Yeah, it wasn't that bad. And.
- 13:34The things that I, I'm about to talk about, I think our really
- 13:37interesting hearing from his perspective as the writer and
- 13:40what he was imagining in his head.
- 13:42But I never would have guessed any of that from watching the
- 13:44movie. And I think the movie is still
- 13:46successful is what it is, yeah. If it's your own thing, it's a
- 13:48lot more. It's a lot easier to be more
- 13:50critical about it for sure. So he didn't like the casting of
- 13:54Dakin Matthews as Colonel Cochran.
- 13:57That was a friend of Jack Bender.
- 13:59And he said that when he was riding Colonel Cochran, it was
- 14:03very much like a Full Metal Jacket type thing in his head.
- 14:06And he was picturing this jewel Sergeant that was very tough, a
- 14:09lot younger, very loud in your face, manly man.
- 14:11So the whole thing about him having a heart attack when he
- 14:14sees the doll was the dev was supposed to be kind of a
- 14:17punchline. And instead they've got this
- 14:19older gentleman and he's like, it's not really wild that I have
- 14:25a heart attack. He said that he was picturing
- 14:27Emery, the guy, the drill Sergeant from that movie and
- 14:31also from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes where he's like
- 14:33the sheriff. Yeah, which I can totally see
- 14:36him being in this movie here, but I wonder if he probably
- 14:40wanted to avoid show like being typecast to.
- 14:42Yeah, I could. I could see that, too.
- 14:44Yeah, He thought Jeremy Silvers was too old because Jeremy was
- 14:5010 to 11 at that time, and they'd written the dialogue in
- 14:54mind of like a five or six year old.
- 14:56And I think that's really interesting because that kind of
- 14:59clears up some of the problems I have with that character.
- 15:02And it's very similar to a lot of Buffy fans in Dawn's first
- 15:05season because Dawn was written to be a lot younger than
- 15:09Michelle Trachtenberg actually was when she was cast.
- 15:13So her dialogue comes across as, like, very whiny and spoiled and
- 15:18like, stunted growth. And it's just because they had a
- 15:21much younger age in mind when they were writing the dialogue.
- 15:23And I think the same thing happens here.
- 15:25Didn't Joss Whedon have like complete control over all that
- 15:28stuff? So like, would he not have made
- 15:31that call? There were multiple showrunners
- 15:34involved and multiple writers. It's not like he wasn't a full
- 15:37one man show now. I I didn't think he was a full
- 15:40one man show, but I thought he was like the head of like
- 15:42everything there. I, I probably don't know, I
- 15:47thought it was really interesting that in the deleted
- 15:50scenes, like the additional TV stuff, his age is 8.
- 15:53He's 8 in this, which tells me, well, Don, you actually wrote
- 15:58him to be an 8 year old, which, you know, like I didn't really
- 16:01think that the dialogue was like super, super young.
- 16:04I wonder. If maybe that was the thing that
- 16:06was added in later though, I don't know.
- 16:08No. Well, maybe during filming, but
- 16:09they definitely like filmed that all at the same time.
- 16:12Yeah. Who knows who?
- 16:15Knows maybe they changed the age when they cast him because
- 16:20they're like, he's not going to pass through five or six, but he
- 16:22could pass for 8:00. True, I mean it's also 30 years
- 16:25ago so he's probably just trying to remember off the top of his
- 16:27head. He also said that Sergeant,
- 16:30Army, Army, Army Barber, Sergeant Botnick, sorry, I was
- 16:36trying to do a King of the Hill thing and I tripped over my own
- 16:39words. That's embarrassing.
- 16:41Sergeant Botnick was was inspired by Sweeney Todd, and he
- 16:45was very excited about having this character.
- 16:48He's like, I just thought it'd be fun to see Chucky with a
- 16:50straight razor and slice some necks.
- 16:51And then he said when he was watching the filming, he didn't
- 16:55like how big Andrew Robinson was going with it.
- 16:58And he says now watching it back, he's like, how else would
- 17:00you have played this? He was like, he did it exactly
- 17:02right. And he's one of the more
- 17:03memorable parts of the movie. Yeah, when he was saying that, I
- 17:05was like, dude, what are you talking about?
- 17:07That was really. Perfect.
- 17:08And we realized while watching it that he is Frank.
- 17:12Yeah. From hell, Razor.
- 17:14Which is, I thought he was going to mention that too.
- 17:16I figured he would have been like a big Hellraiser fan also.
- 17:20But yeah, I liked him a lot. And this?
- 17:24He's a weird fucking character. Yeah, so I just thought all of
- 17:27that was really interesting insight from Don Mancini.
- 17:30And I like hearing some of the thought processes he had while
- 17:33writing and also hearing him like reflect on everything.
- 17:37I just he seems like a real cool dude, real humble.
- 17:40Yeah, he does. Yeah, he seems like a super down
- 17:42to earth guy, all things considered.
- 17:45There's a few like, extra scenes that were on broadcast in the
- 17:49movie sci-fi, sci-fi in USA. So they're at the beginning.
- 17:56Sullivan threatens his, like, assistant guy, saying there's
- 17:58always somebody that's willing to work a couple extra minutes.
- 18:00And that's why in this version, when he's just like, oh, I'll
- 18:02just take this file with me and review it after dinner.
- 18:05I was like, I mean, yeah, he gave you a stern look, but it
- 18:08wasn't an outright threat like. You know, I it was one of the
- 18:11things it made more sense seeing that.
- 18:13But then at the same time, I kind of like the way that they
- 18:15did that in the actual movie because it really it kind of
- 18:20just puts you into the perspective of the type of guy
- 18:22that this guy is. Yeah.
- 18:24And I mean like without outright saying it, like, you know, he's
- 18:26like instilled this. Yeah, he didn't have to say
- 18:29shove it up your ass this time. Shove it up your ass.
- 18:31Shove it up your ass. Yeah, I wish you did though.
- 18:35The bus scene where Andy is going to the school, Tyler's
- 18:39actually on the bus with him and he comes over and introduces
- 18:41himself, gives a little bit of his background and asks Andy if
- 18:44he wants to play his video game. And Andy says no.
- 18:46And the first of many scenes are he's just shooting this poor kid
- 18:49down. Poor kid, man.
- 18:51He's yeah. I feel bad for him.
- 18:53It doesn't. I think it's kind of interesting
- 18:57and it makes me feel bad. I wish they'd left some of this
- 19:00stuff in because it lets you bond with Tyler a little bit
- 19:02more on a human level. And not just like, oh, this is
- 19:04another kid who got a doll. But you get to see a little bit
- 19:07more of him, hear about him being lonely and see the
- 19:10parallels with him and Andy. Except this time, instead of not
- 19:13having a father figure, he doesn't have a mother, but his
- 19:15father's also constantly around the world.
- 19:19And then we get to see these parallels because that's how it
- 19:21was with Andy and Kyle when they first met.
- 19:24You know, Andy trained to bond with Kyle and her kind of like
- 19:27pushing him off at first. But, you know, she just couldn't
- 19:29resist that. That little cutie too long.
- 19:32She also in that scene he Tyler gives him the knife that he
- 19:37gives to Tyler later. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:39So it actually it was just returning to its rightful owner.
- 19:42Yeah, for sure. Tyler shows Andy Abraham when
- 19:45they arrive to the school, tells him where his dorm is and he
- 19:48said, do you want to go to the rec room room before formation?
- 19:51We can play some games. And Andy once again is like, no,
- 19:54I can't, I gotta unpack. And then Andy doesn't even
- 19:56fucking unpacks. Whitehurst has to tell him to do
- 19:58it later. Oh yeah, you're right.
- 20:00Poor little Tyler. We see De Silva seeing Andy and
- 20:05just being like, oh, who's the new gang history class talking
- 20:11about never underestimating the enemy.
- 20:14I could see why that one was cut.
- 20:16Yeah, it wasn't really like super important, and we already
- 20:19know that Andy knows what a threat.
- 20:20Chucky is so I whoa. Wasn't really necessary.
- 20:24Kind of feel bad for the actress who was only in that scene and
- 20:27had her scene cut. Yeah, that that I'm sure that
- 20:30sucks, but yeah, that was not needed.
- 20:33We also see like a couple of small scenes like them lowering
- 20:38the flag and Sheldon splitting Andy and Desilva up when they're
- 20:41in camp during. War games That made sense to me
- 20:43because in that scene in the movie, like they kiss and then
- 20:47it immediately cuts to Andy back in the stent like what the fuck
- 20:50happens? Yeah.
- 20:51What's the dot dot dot there? Yeah, OK.
- 20:55And then as promised, I do have information about Dumbala this
- 20:58time. And I would like to try and
- 21:01remember going forward to look up a little bit more about the
- 21:03voodoo religion. Because I spoke in the first
- 21:05episode, the very first Child's Play episode, about how, you
- 21:08know, I didn't know much about voodoo as a religion.
- 21:10And I have like kind of some weird feelings about the use of
- 21:13it in this movie because it felt kind of like just gimmicky and.
- 21:18I miss wondering. All of especially in the first
- 21:21one and then it just seemed like a thread that they had to carry
- 21:24through the rest. So voodoo is a spiritual
- 21:28practice deeply rooted in the cultural fabric of Haiti and
- 21:31African diaspora. It's got a lot of different
- 21:35beliefs, rituals, and divine figures known as the lower.
- 21:38The lower are spirits that serve as intermediaries between the
- 21:41human world and the divine, and they play roles in the daily
- 21:46lives and spiritual practices of their adherents, and Dambala is
- 21:51one of those Loa, and the Haitian Voodoo religion contains
- 21:55a rich pantheon of gods and spirits.
- 21:57The serpent Dambala We Do is an important Loa spirit, usually
- 22:03depicted as a giant cosmic serpent.
- 22:06His divine role is to support the world and his snake coils
- 22:09and maintain the cycle of life through rain and fertility.
- 22:13He is the husband of Aida, We Do, and son of creator gods.
- 22:18So that's just a little bit of information about Dumbala, kind
- 22:22of an important figure in the video religion, and I thought
- 22:25that was interesting to hear about.
- 22:27I yeah, I'm trying to piece it together like why Dumbala was
- 22:32chosen for this. And I will say that it wasn't
- 22:35super easy to look this up because when you Google Dumbala,
- 22:39and I'm sure a lot of it has to do with algorithms of me, you
- 22:42know, researching a lot about Child's Play and being located
- 22:46where I am at geographically, I tend to just get a lot of
- 22:51child's play Dumbala. And I was like, no, I wanna know
- 22:54about Dumbala, Dumbala. So I had a little bit of a hard
- 22:59time getting that research, getting to something that wasn't
- 23:02just referencing child's play. So that's just a little bit of
- 23:06that information. And I'm going to try and make a
- 23:08point going forward to get a little bit more information in
- 23:11each movie because I think that's, I think that's, you
- 23:14know, something worth learning about.
- 23:16And it's an important piece to the movie, but it's also an
- 23:19important piece to people's lives.
- 23:21And I want to have, you know, a measure of respect and trying to
- 23:24understand it. I respect that.
- 23:27So that's it for facts. Now it's time for opinions.
- 23:32All right, I guess sidekick this one off.
- 23:35You do kick this one off. All right, so things that I
- 23:40thought were good about Child's Play Three, because I feel like
- 23:43we need to say some good things about it since it's so hated.
- 23:46And also because that's how our show goes.
- 23:48Yeah, that is in both things. Both can be true.
- 23:52So the first thing I have written down here is War Games.
- 23:56I fucking love the War Games idea for this movie.
- 23:59That's such an interesting spin on it.
- 24:01I actually just love the whole setting of military school
- 24:05because I tried to think about when we were watching it and I
- 24:09can't think of any other horror movies that take place in this
- 24:13type of setting, like schools, colleges, fine.
- 24:17Like, yeah, that's all true. But military, there's something
- 24:20that is way more strict about it and it it, it puts these
- 24:26restrictions and stuff like that and it makes it a little bit
- 24:29more interesting to know how exactly do these people in
- 24:32maneuver in this place when there's like such crazy
- 24:35restrictions and oversight. I I love that piece of it.
- 24:39And I love that not only is it like a military school with all
- 24:42of those restrictions, like you're saying, but there's also
- 24:44a weaponry around. And that adds a whole new layer
- 24:47of like nervousness, just imagining these younger humans
- 24:53with emotional traumas, several of them probably just based on
- 25:00the characters we get. Yeah, being loud around some of
- 25:05that. And then also we add in this
- 25:07killer doll figure and how do you get feel like it?
- 25:11It just it definitely creates a whole new kind of environment.
- 25:15And if you're familiar enough with the concept of like the
- 25:19military or military school, you have like an instant
- 25:22understanding of like, this is a whole new world to navigate.
- 25:25Oh, I'm sure if you've actually been to military school you
- 25:28could probably pick this thing. Up.
- 25:29Oh, definitely. But I've never been into me.
- 25:32I thought it was really interesting going.
- 25:34Yeah, no, I mean, isn't like vaguely familiar with the
- 25:36concept? Like we know military, yeah, I
- 25:40mean. I thought they did a really good
- 25:42job aging up Andy too. Like it was very soon.
- 25:45Was amazing. It was.
- 25:47Yeah, it was good casting. But I thought, you know, like,
- 25:51that is an interesting choice for him.
- 25:52Like he's kind of had the same wife as Kyle.
- 25:56He's bouncing around from foster home to foster home.
- 25:59I'm glad that we didn't get that again because we already
- 26:01explored that in the second one. Yeah.
- 26:04So moving him to like, I guess like the next level of that is
- 26:08like, all right, well, this kid's got trouble, so let's put
- 26:11him in military school. He's really nice.
- 26:14I like the supporting cassette that they have here too.
- 26:17Like the Dick drill Sergeant guy.
- 26:20He's like a nice. Yeah, he's a nice touch.
- 26:24I like the Silva. She's she reminded me a little
- 26:27bit of Kyle. Like it's like almost as if like
- 26:30he met like, you know, a Kyle his.
- 26:32Own age that like very brazen nothing to lose I'm gonna stand
- 26:37on my own regardless yeah type thing yeah.
- 26:40Yeah. So yeah, those are some of the
- 26:42good things that I have to say about it.
- 26:45I agree with everything you've said.
- 26:47I wanna add that I love the Barber cuz I just think he adds
- 26:51like a nice little bit of flair. It's nice to give other
- 26:53characters fun beyond just Chucky, and I think that's
- 26:58something that Don acknowledged in the interview, saying that
- 27:01like he always pictured, Chucky would be the only one that would
- 27:04be like overly big and flamboyant.
- 27:06But it helps to have like a different character doing that.
- 27:10Yeah, I think you can. You can have like another, but
- 27:13if you have too many then you need something there to ground
- 27:17it. Yes, and I think we have a very
- 27:19good balance with that in this movie.
- 27:21Yeah. I love the gut drought moment
- 27:25where Chucky replaces the paintball pellets with actual
- 27:29ammo. So good.
- 27:31And you're just sitting there and you're just waiting for that
- 27:33shoot or drop. And then when they start
- 27:35shooting and it is paintballs at first and you're like, OK, But
- 27:39then the red team comes out and they're shooting with live ammo.
- 27:43Yeah, it's it's yeah. It's terrifying in the way that
- 27:47you want a horror movie to be. War games seems just like it
- 27:50would be so fun, like you know, military school could suck, but
- 27:53like doing like war games is like a fucking game.
- 27:56Like you, you're doing the whole, you're doing a whole
- 27:58mission, something up camp and everything.
- 28:01I think it would be a lot of fun.
- 28:02No, I think I talked about this in when we did Sleep Away Camp,
- 28:05but I hate games like Capture the flag and stuff like that.
- 28:09I just hate it, OK? It's never been a fun thing for
- 28:13me. Telly has been very barky today
- 28:16so I'm sure you guys are here in your.
- 28:18I apologize on her behalf. She doesn't like war games
- 28:23either. No, I don't think she does.
- 28:25Wants us all to just get along. And also, obviously, she's gonna
- 28:28win every game she plays because she's a puppy.
- 28:30She wins. Yeah.
- 28:33OK. So I think we've got a very good
- 28:35list of goods. Yeah.
- 28:36OK, about our bads. I think that they could have
- 28:40handled the relationship between Andy and Tyler a little bit
- 28:43better. Yeah.
- 28:44It would have been nice to, like, see them bond, like, see
- 28:47himself inside Tyler. But we don't really get that.
- 28:52He just is just warning. He was like, hey, look out for
- 28:54Chucky, you know, And Tyler is supposed to be a little bit
- 28:57older than he was back then. And, you know, Chucky came out
- 29:00the gate pretty hard. He was pretty sinister right
- 29:05out-of-the-box, literally. So seeing him be so nonchalant
- 29:11about this doll that's trying to like steal his body and stuff
- 29:15like that is weird. And also just, I don't know, I
- 29:18feel like they could have done a little bit better with him and
- 29:20just their whole relationship all together.
- 29:23It would have been, yeah. It could have been there.
- 29:26There was something there. It was a missed opportunity.
- 29:28Like I said before, I kind of wish that they had kept some of
- 29:31those cutscenes in the final product because I think it
- 29:34helped build that up a little bit more.
- 29:37Yeah, yeah. And but if you did that, things
- 29:40that happened later in the movie would not make sense because
- 29:44they almost pretend like they don't know each other.
- 29:46Yeah. Which is strange.
- 29:48It's it's a very, they handled it very strangely, I think.
- 29:53OK, what's your bad? My bad.
- 29:56I I like that we get to see Desilva be a badass but I feel
- 30:06like she's very two-dimensional because she's either just being
- 30:09like badass or boy crazy. Like I feel like we don't see a
- 30:12whole lot of nuance with her. You're right.
- 30:15Yeah. And there's really not much else
- 30:16to her. Yeah.
- 30:17It's like either about Andy or you're like, really, it's just
- 30:20her being about Andy the entire time.
- 30:22Yeah, like. When she's being bad, she's
- 30:24doing it as a way to like, impress him, it almost seems.
- 30:27Yeah. And it just that's kind of a
- 30:29bummer because we've seen Don Mancini be able to write
- 30:32characters with like, very minimal screen time and still
- 30:35build them up and make them interesting.
- 30:37Yeah. So it's kind of a bummer to see
- 30:39that, especially when there's only like really two female
- 30:43characters that we see throughout the movie, so.
- 30:46And we don't even get the name of the other one.
- 30:48She's. Just friends.
- 30:49Ivars. Yeah.
- 30:50Oh, OK. I don't.
- 30:51I didn't catch it, but she's just kind of there, yeah.
- 30:54Really. She's just, she's not even
- 30:55really. She's just there to giggle and
- 30:57want to talk about boys, too. So yeah, it just, yeah.
- 31:01It just, it feels a little bit like women.
- 31:03Am I right? You know?
- 31:04Don Mancini goes to six pack, which again, I don't think that
- 31:10that was his intention and I don't think that's typically the
- 31:13kind of writer he has. And he even acknowledged the
- 31:15script head flaws. But that is something that kind
- 31:18of bums me out when I watch this, because she does have a
- 31:20lot of potential as a character and I feel like she gets a bit
- 31:24sidelined. That was the thing that he
- 31:26criticized the most about this script in the movie is that he
- 31:30thought that the characters were all weak.
- 31:32Yeah. So, you know, like some of them
- 31:35I thought were fine, but yeah, there's some of them you
- 31:37definitely do notice of spots. Yeah.
- 31:39OK, ugly stuff. Yeah.
- 31:41At the beginning, Sullivan calls children consumer trainees.
- 31:48What a fucking asshole. Yeah, the ugly part of that is
- 31:51it's probably not too far off from how a lot of like.
- 31:54I know, I'm sure. Marketing agents think.
- 31:57I'm sure it's exactly like that in a lot of those meetings, but
- 32:00man, it just fucking sucks to think like, oh man.
- 32:04I'm pretty sure I wrote that as his fuck them kids speech in my
- 32:07notes. So, I mean, it is, yeah.
- 32:09He's basically saying fuck them kids.
- 32:12And also he's kind of stalking Andy, too, because he's got,
- 32:15like, information on where he's at and what's going on.
- 32:18Yeah. You know what that I thought was
- 32:19strange? Like I get it, this kid said
- 32:23shit about it back when he was a kid, but he's in military school
- 32:26now and I don't think he's going to house to house talking about
- 32:28Chucky and good guy dolls and stuff like that like.
- 32:31Wouldn't it be fun, though, if Sullivan was like a kind of part
- 32:35of the reason that he gets sent to military schools?
- 32:37They're trying to like shut him up and keep him out of the
- 32:39limelight so they can relaunch the good guy.
- 32:42I think that would be a fun way to intersect the.
- 32:44That would have been better the way that they did in the movie.
- 32:47And I was even thinking when we were watching it the other night
- 32:50and I was like, man, this is lazy.
- 32:52He just gets on his computer and immediately finds Andy in
- 32:54military school. Okay, sure.
- 32:57Yeah. And.
- 32:57I would have loved that because that starts opening up in the
- 33:01way that we'll see in future movies and the TV show where
- 33:04Andy is like, listen or not Andy, where Chuck is like,
- 33:07listen, I'm a bad guy, I'm a serial killer.
- 33:10But this dude sucks. Like, it would be nice to see
- 33:13him kind of like, work with Silva to get his means, you
- 33:17know, his access to Andy. Yeah.
- 33:19Work with Sullivan to get too many names.
- 33:22It would be interesting to see Chucky work with Sullivan to get
- 33:25access to Andy, but then also be like, you're kind of a monster
- 33:28for locking this kid up in this military by the way.
- 33:31Like it's weird how fixated you are on him.
- 33:33I think I at least have a reason.
- 33:35With that one right there, I think that would have been him.
- 33:37It would have. It would be cool to see him have
- 33:39somebody that he admires for how fucked up they are too though.
- 33:43Like, you know, like there's a balance between.
- 33:45Yeah, OK. That's fair enough.
- 33:47Yeah, OK. Are we answered OK.
- 33:54I didn't know if you had done all your others.
- 33:56I kind of riffed off of it with you.
- 33:57OK, Yeah. All right, my absurds.
- 34:02So this kind of a well, OK, First off, they used the old
- 34:06dusty good guy batter to make the current Chucky.
- 34:10Yeah. How did that Like, there's no
- 34:13way that they're going to use this batter.
- 34:15That place was fucking cobwebbed up, dusty, and this batter had
- 34:20been sitting there for what seems like almost a decade at
- 34:24this point because Andy's a teenager now.
- 34:26Yeah. So they use that because the
- 34:29blood drips in there and it makes that Chucky.
- 34:32I will say the opening to this movie is amazing.
- 34:35I love the way they shot it, but that just did not make any sense
- 34:40to me. It was so.
- 34:41Strange, it's like they didn't even want to take the they were
- 34:44planning this relaunch of the Guy dolls, but they didn't even
- 34:46take the time to clean the factory or anything.
- 34:48And. They're just like they swept it
- 34:50up. Yeah, that and but the machine
- 34:51still worked. Everything worked fine.
- 34:53And then the batter was still fine like it was.
- 34:55Yeah. I thought that was really
- 34:56strange. I'm really upset by you calling
- 34:59like this VAT of plastic batter. I liked it.
- 35:02Good guy batter is what? It's called.
- 35:05Yeah. I mean, what else would you call
- 35:07it? A VAT of plastic.
- 35:09But it's liquid. Yeah, plastic melts when it's
- 35:12heated. But why is it still liquid?
- 35:14It's been sitting there for a decade.
- 35:16Well I assume they turned the the pot on to boil while they
- 35:20were like getting the machines operating.
- 35:22I ain't buying that shit. The other one I have is kind of.
- 35:26I didn't realize you're going to do this for the the opening, but
- 35:29I like the idea that you can get two good guy dolls stuck in a
- 35:31loop. OK, so honestly.
- 35:35And thus feels like a good time to bring in the Furby connection
- 35:38that I've always seen with the good guy dolls because Furby is
- 35:41are the good guys of our generation.
- 35:43Right. Like, you play with them, you
- 35:44feed them, you teach that they speak Furbish, but you can then
- 35:48start to teach them English and they when you get them together,
- 35:51they talk to each other. Yeah, it's an actual thing.
- 35:54I like that. And I think that's fine.
- 35:56My Furby would head bang to music.
- 35:59That's awesome. My mom loved turning on like
- 36:02really loud like Hard Rock and watch the Furby like it would
- 36:07rock back and forth and head bang.
- 36:09And then there were also like further tying in the Furby to
- 36:13good guy parallel. There were reports of like
- 36:15Furbies with like creepy or messed up recordings going on
- 36:20and reports of like potential tampering in the factories where
- 36:23they were being made, which is what they suggested to the
- 36:27public happened with Andy's Good Guy doll after the events of the
- 36:30first Child's Play movie. I'm.
- 36:31Going to look up on Furby's release because I wonder if they
- 36:34had any type of inspiration. I know that they were a thing
- 36:38for us, but when did that happen?
- 36:41Yeah, well, I couldn't have been much older than Andy. 1998.
- 36:47Yeah, so I wasn't, I was Andy's age.
- 36:49I was gonna think cuz I remember we were in our first house when
- 36:51I had mine. Whoa, they were so big.
- 36:54Man, I love furbies. Furbies were fucking awesome.
- 36:57It's speaking capabilities were translated into 14 languages.
- 37:01Interesting. Yeah dude, they're still making
- 37:03them. And as recently as 2018.
- 37:07Wow. Yeah, for, Oh no, they're
- 37:09availability present there. You can still get a Furby
- 37:11everybody. You can also still get Polly
- 37:13Pockets like the real ones that come in like the little
- 37:15clamshell houses. The last new generation was
- 37:19released in 2023. Hey, should we get some Furbies?
- 37:22Maybe Oh, dude, OK, but I that's kind of crazy.
- 37:26I thought it's it's weird to see that that like imitated the
- 37:30movie. Yeah, in a way.
- 37:32Yeah. And I think it's, it's just
- 37:34really interesting. And it's really interesting to
- 37:36have like that kind of a personal parallel with it.
- 37:39Yeah, so. I still like the idea though
- 37:42that you can get them just like in a loop.
- 37:44Like what if you in the factory, you accidentally hit the button
- 37:47cuz you know, you know how you go around like a store and you
- 37:49hit a button if you want to test it and you do that on the good
- 37:52guy wall and then it just gets the entire row of good guy dolls
- 37:56just talking in the store at the same time.
- 37:58You know, I've never thought about that, but that must be a
- 38:01nightmare in stores around Halloween where they have to set
- 38:04up the like motions and through. Yeah.
- 38:06Like they have to probably set them up in a way that the motion
- 38:09from 1 doesn't set off the other and cause a chain reaction.
- 38:13Yeah, you know what? I think that explains how a lot
- 38:15of those places set them up in like a square and they're all
- 38:17facing. Outward, yeah.
- 38:20I always thought it was just to make it easier for the customer
- 38:22to see it. But thinking about it this way,
- 38:24it makes sense. Or like the Spirit Halloween,
- 38:27how they'll like set up almost like a little haunted.
- 38:31That's really. Cool trail.
- 38:32And they're just far enough apart that they're not setting
- 38:34each other off. Yeah, so interesting.
- 38:37All right, where are your upstarts?
- 38:39This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this
- 38:43is for fun. I feel like up close shot of him
- 38:47grabbing his crotch is just. Had you never like that was a
- 38:51big. Thing.
- 38:51Yeah, No, I've heard it. I've heard it.
- 38:54It doesn't make it any less absurd in this context.
- 38:57And I it, it's just, yeah. Yeah.
- 39:05Is that the gun for women too? Or do they like do they grab
- 39:08their their boobs? It's.
- 39:11These are my guns. No, no.
- 39:14Britney Spears in the Austin Powers.
- 39:17Yeah, she was a fembot, Travis. Just saying.
- 39:25OK, yeah, that's that's like my main, I'm sorry, is, is that
- 39:29scene? That is so.
- 39:30Cute. Yeah.
- 39:32All right. I also want to add Presto.
- 39:35Yeah, bald. Yeah, he wasn't bald.
- 39:39He wasn't bald. None of them were bald.
- 39:40No, that guy in a like, in itself is like an absurd
- 39:45character. I he's like, he reminded me of
- 39:49Jack Nicholson's character that's obsessed with the
- 39:51dentist, except this guy had his obsession at the Barber.
- 39:54Yeah. So he just wanted to become a
- 39:56Barber. He's just like, I fucking love
- 39:58cutting hair. Just that's his.
- 40:01He gets fulfillment from that. You know what?
- 40:04Good for him. Yeah, I respect him.
- 40:06It's fine. OK, so let's rate it.
- 40:09I am going to give this an 8. I'm.
- 40:12Going to give it a 7 1/2. OK.
- 40:14I think it's a lot of fun. It delivers a lot of gross at
- 40:18moments. It's an interesting setting to
- 40:21throw Chucky into and explore his complete lack of morals.
- 40:26Yeah, yeah. Speaking of settings, I forgot
- 40:29to mention, but I love the carnival setting.
- 40:32I wish that there was more of it and.
- 40:34I love I it's just one of those little moments, but I love
- 40:38seeing young child Tyler run to the security tent because that's
- 40:44what kids are taught like you've got to go find an authority
- 40:47figure that will help you. And I like that that translated
- 40:50over for him. Yeah, for sure.
- 40:52All right. So starting average 7.75.
- 40:54All right. It's pretty good.
- 40:55Yes. OK, let's get into it.
- 41:00All right, so it starts off with the cobweb doll heads that I
- 41:03think look like Xenomorphags when you walk into The Cave.
- 41:11I'm thinking specifically in Prometheus.
- 41:15Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's what it makes
- 41:18me think of. They're kind of cleaning up, but
- 41:21they're also just immediately getting to business.
- 41:24And they drag the melty pile that is Chucky over top of a VAT
- 41:29of molten plastic, and his blood drips.
- 41:32And I thought the whole thing about him wanting to get out of
- 41:34the doll body was because now he can die and it seems like he
- 41:37should be dead by this point. Yeah, like, I don't know if,
- 41:42well, he should be human, right? But is it just the internals
- 41:46that turn human? See, and that's where like I
- 41:49this feels like when we start thinking about time travel
- 41:51fuckery and you just can't think about it too much.
- 41:54But that's how it seems later in the in this series.
- 41:57Like he his internal inside he's human.
- 42:02On the outside, he's still plastic doll.
- 42:04Yes. Yeah, it it's strange you don't
- 42:07don't think about it too hard. I do have some qualms with this
- 42:12opening where we see the blood mixing into the plastic because
- 42:15I keep waiting for it to all blend together.
- 42:19I hate ASMR videos. I hate the whispery sound.
- 42:21It makes me want to rip my skin off.
- 42:23But I love watching paint mixing videos.
- 42:26That's different. So that's the type of thing that
- 42:31I find really satisfying, yeah. I I like that too.
- 42:34Don't you think that it would also it would have also split
- 42:37into multiple good guy dolls considering the amount of yes
- 42:41good guy batter they had in there?
- 42:43And then my other thought is also that it makes me think of
- 42:49old episodes of Unwrapped, like when he would go to like a taffy
- 42:52shop or something and he'd see, yeah, it's the show on Food
- 42:55Network where he goes to like, various like, candy shops and
- 43:00places and see how they make their special candy and stuff.
- 43:04OK, well. So we were a Food Network
- 43:08family. I could tell.
- 43:10Yeah. Well, the the intro for this is
- 43:12awesome, though. I, I don't care how absurd or
- 43:15stupid it is. I love watching the doll being
- 43:17made. And I like how that you see it's
- 43:21like a time lapse of the wax drying on him.
- 43:25Yeah, and it almost was like a reverse yeah, like it it kind of
- 43:29makes me think of the Halloween 2018 intro where the Jack O
- 43:32Lantern unrots yeah, that's it's him UN melting almost cuz the
- 43:37wax like. It was really cool, I liked it.
- 43:39Yeah. OK.
- 43:41So then we cut to a board meeting and the, the
- 43:44stockholders are all talking about, you know, if it's good to
- 43:48be relaunching the Good Guy doll, if it's going to drum up
- 43:52more like sympathy for Andy and make the company look bad, if
- 43:56it's going to cause issues. And then here's again, I know I
- 44:01just said not to think too much about this, but I'm going to
- 44:03think too much about this. So one of the, one of the people
- 44:07on the board is like our Good Guy dolls were out selling 2 to
- 44:11one when they were last launched.
- 44:14However, they were released very shortly before the events of the
- 44:19first one because that was Andy's whole thing.
- 44:22On his birthday, he learned that they were making the Good guy
- 44:24dolls. They'd only been out for like
- 44:26maybe a month before the birthday.
- 44:28Because remember, the mom was like, oh, I didn't have time to
- 44:30save up for it. I didn't know you wanted this
- 44:32this badly or that it was going to be coming.
- 44:34So were they really outselling all of the other toys 2 to one
- 44:38or was it like the newness of it?
- 44:39That was very exciting because then his story went national
- 44:42right after it happened. So there can't the I'm just
- 44:45saying that the sample size they had to measure what the sales
- 44:50numbers actually were for. Good guy.
- 44:52Is it a newness thing or was it actually that popular?
- 44:58I think you know what I mean, I feel.
- 44:59Like you're you're leaving out child's play too though where it
- 45:02had been a thing for like a year at least.
- 45:05Yes, but it was still like in the news causing problems and
- 45:08the board was talking about shutting down and because they
- 45:11had to shut down some of their production then too, remember,
- 45:14because they had to take apart the Good guy doll and figure out
- 45:16what was going. On they were getting bad press,
- 45:19but as they say yes, and they were saying it was still
- 45:23selling. It was still insanely popular
- 45:25despite all the bad press it was getting.
- 45:27I suppose so, yeah. And they said even.
- 45:31Since we haven't had it in production, it's actually been
- 45:34insanely popular. Still.
- 45:35People are still talking about us still wanting them.
- 45:38So the execs like, all right, well, the exact is one of those
- 45:42aliens from. They live and he says consume.
- 45:44Yeah, consume. He's trying to.
- 45:46Turn the little children into consumers.
- 45:48Yeah, they give him. The first doll off the line that
- 45:53the truck, the good guy doll of the 90s is what they call him.
- 45:56Which sent me into a whole timeline spiral as well because
- 46:02the last one was set in 1990 and I just can't think about this
- 46:05stuff too much. So this is like.
- 46:07Realistically supposed to be closer to two.
- 46:09Is it in the 2000s? It's in the 2000s.
- 46:12No, it's in the. 90s That doesn't make any sense.
- 46:14He in the movie says the. Good guy doll of the 90s but
- 46:17Charles play. One was 88.
- 46:20I know, Travis. I know.
- 46:22That you know and I know that they.
- 46:23Are saying this, but I'm speaking realistically.
- 46:26If you try and put the math together, you make Andy a
- 46:28teenager that is going to be 10 years, 10 to 12 years down the
- 46:33line. We're talking 2000s.
- 46:36I have the same. The same questions, they did not
- 46:39put a lot of thought into that, right?
- 46:41There and get what they were trying.
- 46:43To do what if they had like flying cars and.
- 46:45Shit, 2000 and it's just like. Hot dude Chucky 2.
- 46:52Thousand could have been a cool name.
- 46:54Oh man, yeah, OK, whatever. So it's fine.
- 46:57I just this. Is one of those just enjoy it
- 47:00and don't think too much. Yeah, you really got to do that.
- 47:02So we cut to the exec, Sullivan. He's in his penthouse office.
- 47:07We were trying to figure out what this place was.
- 47:10I think he's the. CEO He gave himself the whole
- 47:13executive suite and the top floor of the building.
- 47:15You thought maybe this was like his penthouse apartment, but
- 47:18then I said he doesn't seem like the guy who would have these
- 47:20toys in his own personal living space.
- 47:23But I do believe that he would have a couch and a bar in his
- 47:25office. He could have been one of those
- 47:27guys that will have. Toys so much growing up and then
- 47:29he became a cold hearted motherfucker and then he just
- 47:32needed to learn the power. Of childlike joy see if Chucky
- 47:36this could have been a. Christmas movie if Chucky.
- 47:38Were a good guy an. Actual good guy, Sure.
- 47:41Good guy things could have been. Different.
- 47:43Sullivan would have worn his blessing.
- 47:45He would have been like Scrooge. Yeah, exactly.
- 47:47Yeah, you. Know but.
- 47:49We don't get that. Instead, shove it up your ass.
- 47:52Yeah, as soon as we. Get him drinking.
- 47:54His whiskey and watching, he's probably drinking Scotch.
- 47:58He seems like a Scotch guy. Yeah, he he's.
- 48:01Watching the. News No, he's watching stock.
- 48:03Market. The stock market, C-SPAN, stock
- 48:07market channel. I don't know, boring ass show.
- 48:09Yeah, and they're talking. About how they're saying shit
- 48:13stocks, things are happening, Yeah, the market.
- 48:17Meanwhile we we get a little bit of Chucky vision and we see like
- 48:21a golf putter move in and Sullivan doesn't question it, he
- 48:24just grabs it and starts doing some putt and practice of his
- 48:27own. And then Chucky does a Home
- 48:29Alone slash showgirls whichever move you're in and causes him to
- 48:34fall on some marbles. Oh, and yeah, yeah, I was trying
- 48:40to think about why. Showgirls.
- 48:42But yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 48:43The pearls, yeah. So.
- 48:46I like this. It's really cool.
- 48:47It doesn't make any sense, but I like how Chucky was able to turn
- 48:51on every single toy in the penthouse.
- 48:53So Penthouse, the office or whatever, everything's going.
- 48:57He's got robots, he's got things flying around, he's got an RC
- 49:00car, there's a train. Yeah, there's a lot of shit
- 49:03happening here. And honestly and really.
- 49:05We will talk about the remake as well, but I feel like there are
- 49:09elements of this franchise that the remake takes in very well in
- 49:13this. Like control of electronics is
- 49:15part of it. That makes a lot more sense in
- 49:18the. Remake for sure.
- 49:18But yeah, this right here. I just think it's cool.
- 49:20It's just one of things to write down.
- 49:21I don't know. It was cool.
- 49:22It was neat to do. Yeah, it was.
- 49:24And it's like he's alarmed. And then he starts getting hit
- 49:27with darts and he gets hit over the head with a Golf Club and he
- 49:30tries to make a phone call and check.
- 49:32He strangles and with a yo-yo. Yeah, I wish.
- 49:36Chucky would have bonded with Larry and Polly.
- 49:43Polly. Yes.
- 49:45What were you going to say? I know it.
- 49:47Wasn't going to be Terry again because you were doing an SI.
- 49:50Just wanted were you going to call the doll Steve?
- 49:52I was. I was getting.
- 49:54There I, I didn't know where I was going to be.
- 49:55I was maybe Saul or something like that.
- 49:59Polly and Saul Lee. And Saul Lee.
- 50:02Did you have a question for Yo? Yeah, did.
- 50:04You yo-yo ever did you use a standard like Duncan yoyo like
- 50:09the normal kind? I did a butterfly yoyo, which
- 50:12it's almost like a reverse yoyo. So the outside is like flat and
- 50:16it like goes in. I could.
- 50:19Not tell you I I just yoyoed I had an orange one.
- 50:23Wow, you were really into yoyos I.
- 50:25Guess I I couldn't tell you I wasn't good at it, but I
- 50:28enjoyed. It it went up and it went down.
- 50:31So sometimes several times in a row.
- 50:34Usually not for me. I was not good.
- 50:37That's probably why I didn't get into it.
- 50:39It's a cool, cool weapon. Yeah, I appreciate.
- 50:42Yeah, it feels appropriate. I like that he's killed with all
- 50:46of his toys. They're in the office.
- 50:47It's inappropriate death for him.
- 50:50And Don Mancini was talking about how the actor that played
- 50:54Sullivan is actually somebody who kind of almost saved his job
- 50:58for him when he was young and working on ATV set 'cause he
- 51:01corrected the actor on his line as they were rolling.
- 51:05And he realized after the fact, Oh my God, why would I say that?
- 51:08And the guy was just like, hey, thanks for keeping me on my
- 51:11toes. Yeah, like, threw him a bone
- 51:13instead of being like, hey, who the fuck are you?
- 51:17Yeah. And he said that they, they
- 51:18remained friends, good friends up until his death.
- 51:21And he was like, you know, when you're in a horror movie, part
- 51:24of what you want is to a chance to be killed.
- 51:26That's one of those one things. In life right there, that so Don
- 51:30Mansiony he was doing, he just held wires.
- 51:33That was his whole job, basically.
- 51:35Yeah. His job was to keep the wires
- 51:36from getting tangled. And he said, now I'm really good
- 51:39with a garden hose. Good to know, Don.
- 51:42But that's one of those lessons right there where you're like,
- 51:46no matter where you are in the industry and you could be the
- 51:48actor, but being nice to the little tech dude, Yeah, gets you
- 51:52a part. And because you don't know what
- 51:53that tech dude's going to be. Yeah.
- 51:55In the future, Don Mancini ended up being a full blown writer and
- 51:58director. Yeah.
- 51:59And he got him a role in this movie because this guy took it
- 52:03with like a, you know, Grace was a kind guy.
- 52:06Yeah, that. Somebody corrected.
- 52:07Him, he wasn't an asshole. Yeah.
- 52:10So I. Think that's really cool and
- 52:12it's so funny, though, that he. Writes in to be like, shove it
- 52:14up in your ass, shove it up, yes, but he's a nice guy, so
- 52:18yeah. Chucky checks his computer and
- 52:20says that Andy was remanded to military school after bouncing
- 52:23around from foster home to foster home for the past seven
- 52:27or so years. How convenient.
- 52:28How convenient. So in our eight.
- 52:30Years. I can't do math.
- 52:32It's fine. Don't worry about it.
- 52:32We've already we've been discussed.
- 52:34That this is not even worth discussing because it's it's so
- 52:37stupid to even think about. South Andy arrives at Kent
- 52:40Military. School and Colonel Cochran talks
- 52:42to him so as you've been in foster homes for the past eight
- 52:45years, that's why I said eight years.
- 52:48That's not correct. He was seven in the second one
- 52:51so he should have. Yeah.
- 52:52Because it was a year after. So he's 15.
- 52:55He's 15. Yeah, but it's a. 16 in the.
- 52:58Computer maybe around I. Don't know we we can't get
- 53:02caught up on this. He wasn't ready for all of these
- 53:04nerds. To be dissecting this later in
- 53:06life. Starting to question this time
- 53:08man scene. I don't know if he's cut up for
- 53:10it. I don't think he's got it in.
- 53:12Him. So the.
- 53:14Then the Colonel quotes the Bible at him, so that's weird.
- 53:19And he tells him to put away childish things, such as
- 53:22witnessing several deaths when he was six years old.
- 53:25That's child. That's childish shit.
- 53:27You know I, Andy. I know that he didn't like this
- 53:30guy casted, but I thought he did a good job.
- 53:33So yeah, he still sounded military.
- 53:35I thought he played it well. I like that he wasn't.
- 53:38The Full Metal Jacket stereotype of the time.
- 53:40Yeah, he had the tone, he had the.
- 53:42Speaking cadence, he did everything he know about.
- 53:45I had the very like. I'm a Colonel.
- 53:48I don't need your fucking shit. Like, yeah, this is my school.
- 53:51We're doing things by way. Yeah, he's so.
- 53:54Important for you? Yeah, but I get this.
- 53:56You know the whole. Thing about military is just you
- 53:58know they're breaking you down so get rid of the childish shit.
- 54:01I do get that it it doesn't. Have the pay off that he wanted
- 54:05for his death, but I still think that's still work for me.
- 54:08Yeah, cuz. He's the head.
- 54:10Honcho. So him just being taken out, not
- 54:12even by the serial killer of the movie, but his own body
- 54:16betraying him, that's a much more relatable thing, honestly.
- 54:20Yeah, I know people complain about that.
- 54:22Death as it being super lame but I like it I think it's funny
- 54:25yeah I. Think it still works.
- 54:28So then we go to the Barber and he's doing his pistol your bald
- 54:32and he gives Andy a weird like flat top haircut.
- 54:35I don't like it. I feel like the military cut, he
- 54:38calls it he. Gives him the whole history
- 54:40rundown. Like this guy could probably
- 54:41tell you the history of every haircut and all all haircuts and
- 54:45he doesn't have the same. Haircut as the other cadets it's
- 54:50very much based off of. Who you are, I guess, or what
- 54:54kind of hair you like. This guy appreciate.
- 54:56He's like this guy that's not going to fit his head.
- 54:59He's going to give him the flat top because he's knows that
- 55:01that's going to benefit Andy. Better guarantee that an Army
- 55:04Barber doesn't. Give a you want.
- 55:05You want your. People to go out there efficient
- 55:09but also looking awesome. That way there's other soldiers
- 55:12are like damn, see fucking looks good and I can't grab his hair.
- 55:16What the fuck? That's the whole point of it.
- 55:20You know what? I'm just.
- 55:20Going to bring this up now since we're talking about them not
- 55:22being able to grab the hair. It drives me fucking crazy that
- 55:25the Sylvan ivars do not have their hair up.
- 55:27Yeah, I was trying to tell you like see.
- 55:29That and oh, man, that's the thing about the bad too.
- 55:32I'm going to mention here because he mentions in this
- 55:34scene, he gives them the whole rundown of the hair guys.
- 55:38So it was made by the Romans because the whole point is it
- 55:42means your enemy can't grab your hair, pull your head back and
- 55:44sweat your throat. Yeah.
- 55:46And that was a missed opportunity.
- 55:48We don't get that kill in this movie because he could have done
- 55:51it. He could have done it to one of
- 55:52the women in the movie, like De Silva, de Silva's friend.
- 55:56Grab the hair, pull her back, boom.
- 55:58Yeah, we're like perfectly demonstrated.
- 56:00Yeah. Or even done it to like.
- 56:02I don't know somebody at the carnival or the dump truck
- 56:05driver gives them long hair. Just prove.
- 56:07Yeah, like, but he he. Does get his throat slit.
- 56:11So we get we're halfway there. Yeah, we do still get The
- 56:13Sweeney Totten moment. So yeah, he the good guy, doll.
- 56:21Commercial comes on while they Andy's getting his haircut and
- 56:25Tyler's there too. I think he's waiting to get no,
- 56:28he just got his haircut and he's playing video games and he sees
- 56:30the good guy commercial for the first time and he is mesmerized.
- 56:34Yeah, this. Kid wants a good.
- 56:36Guy doll, yes. And this kid, probably.
- 56:38Hasn't had a lot of toys in his life.
- 56:40Yeah, and Andy is going through some severe.
- 56:42PTSD through this right here because he's giving him all
- 56:44kinds of flashbacks and feelings so he goes to his.
- 56:48Room and he finds his roommate Whitehurst in the closet says
- 56:51that Shelton and his gang of thugs threw him in there.
- 56:55And he is also very much like, oh, well, you could never have
- 56:58something so personal as a first name here in Kent.
- 57:00Like Dang, yeah, I feel bad for Whitehurst.
- 57:03Yeah, his whole his. Whole thing is that everybody
- 57:07says he's the most pathetic recruit they've ever had at this
- 57:10school and then he sacrifices himself as his final arc.
- 57:13He's the. Stereotypical nerdy guy that
- 57:17went to military school, you know, people.
- 57:19I'm sure that that's like a thing that happened.
- 57:23But yeah, you feel bad for him a little bit.
- 57:26So we are at formation. He gave him that warning of
- 57:30Shelton, and we're now introduced to Shelton, who is
- 57:32their drill Sergeant, Kind of. Yeah, he's the Lieutenant
- 57:36Colonel Shelton. Sir, Sir, yes.
- 57:39So he. Dresses Andy down.
- 57:40And then he starts going for Whitehurst and De Silva calls
- 57:43him an asshole and he says, what do you say?
- 57:45And she said I said what? And an asshole, Sir?
- 57:48Yep, that's how you answer right.
- 57:50There. So she has to do 25 push ups?
- 57:52Yep, and I like how she continues.
- 57:54The one, Sir. 2 Sir, passive aggressive.
- 57:58Yeah. Meanwhile, so realistic.
- 58:00Yeah, realistic. Meanwhile.
- 58:02Tyler is going to check for Mel because he wants to see if his
- 58:06dad left him anything does not have any Mel his dad I get the
- 58:09sense that his. Dad is like maybe a higher rank
- 58:12because of the way the the post Sergeant, postmaster Sergeant
- 58:16person, whatever. I don't, I don't know military
- 58:19ranks very well. I get that sense because of the
- 58:24way that he is like. Oh well, your father.
- 58:28'S, you know, he's driving plane, he's flying planes, he's
- 58:31serving our country. He's, you know, got a lot going
- 58:34on. He doesn't have time to write
- 58:35you a letter right now. Oh no man, I I got more of a
- 58:37sense that. He's kind of a private person.
- 58:41You get it Travis. Yeah, OK, yeah, I like that his
- 58:50dad didn't abandoned them. That's kind of the first thing
- 58:52that you think of too, cuz this franchise has conditioned you to
- 58:56think that old parents suck. Did their parents die?
- 59:00Or just abandoned them. Yeah, no, he's just out there
- 59:02flying jets. He's being, you know, a good guy
- 59:05out there. Yeah.
- 59:07So he's like, you know what, Tyler?
- 59:09But one thing you can do for us, you can deliver this package to
- 59:12Barclay. Look, I get it.
- 59:14They're trying to make. Him feel important and like he's
- 59:16got a job to do, but it's also like you don't have mail but
- 59:19look at this giant package the new guy got.
- 59:22How about you could give this to him?
- 59:24And so he's running through the halls and everybody's just a
- 59:26jerk before a little Tyler and pushing him around.
- 59:29And they knock the package out of his hands and it falls down
- 59:31the stairs. And that causes the packaging to
- 59:34rip. And he sees the good guy box.
- 59:37Yeah. And this kid.
- 59:39Just chooses like mine. Yeah, I'm keeping it.
- 59:42Yeah. He runs and hides in the.
- 59:43Armory and he unwraps it and Chucky jumps out and goes who
- 59:49the fuck are you and Tyler said I thought you guys only said
- 59:53three sentences. Which is the best dialogue in
- 59:56this entire movie. I'm new and improved.
- 1:00:00Yeah. It's it's really.
- 1:00:01Funny I I like how we just cut straight to the chase with
- 1:00:05Chucky in this one cause we've had it happen past two movies.
- 1:00:08We get it. Yeah, we don't we don't need to
- 1:00:10bounce. We.
- 1:00:11Don't need to tiptoe around it. No, let's just see.
- 1:00:13Let's have him out. There so he's already, you know
- 1:00:17telling him the game if I had the soul yeah, he he's like I
- 1:00:20need. To find Andy and then he goes,
- 1:00:21well, technically this is a new body.
- 1:00:23So loophole, yeah, he he gets to choose who.
- 1:00:27He wants to be now, Yeah. He's going to be Tyler.
- 1:00:30So yeah. And this is kind of an.
- 1:00:32Ugly thing that we didn't mention at the beginning but the
- 1:00:34way he was like talking about how he's going to be going into
- 1:00:39he's going to be a bro God that line makes me uncomfortable.
- 1:00:43I get it, but at the same time it's.
- 1:00:45Not like he's saying anything bad.
- 1:00:47He chose, you know, like it. I don't think that there's any
- 1:00:50like anything bad. I don't think he's like.
- 1:00:55He's a bad guy, and I think he's kind of stereotyping a little
- 1:00:58bit the way he says it, I suppose, yeah.
- 1:01:02OK, so they go to. Shooting practice.
- 1:01:05Andy is very bad at it, and de Silva's very good and she helps
- 1:01:09and Andy feels all kinds of teenage boy feelings.
- 1:01:12Oh yeah? Well, she is.
- 1:01:13Not doing any favors by caressing that gun in a certain
- 1:01:17way. I I got that impression with
- 1:01:20that so. Cochran comes in as Tyler is
- 1:01:25playing hide the soul with Chucky or Charles.
- 1:01:29I like how formal Tyler is and I also kind of like that he cuz
- 1:01:33Chucky goes yeah they call me Chucky but my name is Charles
- 1:01:37and I like that Tyler is like OK cool.
- 1:01:39You're saying your name is Charles?
- 1:01:41I'm gonna respect that. It would be funny if you gave
- 1:01:43him. The same rundown that Whitehurst
- 1:01:45gave Andy, He's like, yeah, man, how naive of you to think that
- 1:01:49we use first names here. What's your last name?
- 1:01:51Yeah. It would be funny if you called
- 1:01:52him Ray. Yeah.
- 1:01:55Like Andy? Doesn't even know what's going
- 1:01:56on. If he's like, who the fuck is
- 1:01:57Ray? Yeah, dude, there's two of them.
- 1:02:00Fuck. Yeah.
- 1:02:02So the. Cochran interrupts.
- 1:02:04He's like, all right, Tyler, you can't be playing with toys.
- 1:02:07You're in military school. We're leaving childish things
- 1:02:10behind. So he takes the doll, and
- 1:02:13Tyler's in trouble, which is good.
- 1:02:14So he just is taking them away. Yeah.
- 1:02:17So he's walking across the field while Andy and the squad are,
- 1:02:24well, I don't know the fucking military terms, so I'm sorry,
- 1:02:27Everybody in the military platoon, maybe, I don't know,
- 1:02:31they're all out there doing drills.
- 1:02:32They're signaling Andy out because Andy, I think this is
- 1:02:35their way of teaching him what to do with the rifle.
- 1:02:38Yeah, I just. I don't.
- 1:02:40I don't know, it's odd putting him straight into formation and
- 1:02:43not teaching him any of the terms or what he's supposed to
- 1:02:45do with any of well, that's what they did.
- 1:02:47That's why he's. Like fall out and then, yeah,
- 1:02:50you don't know what fall out means until somebody grabs you
- 1:02:52by the fucking neck. Or do a cat.
- 1:02:54Yeah, just yeah. Out there and then you can.
- 1:02:56Grab your junk right in front of them, like, OK, Like, that's not
- 1:02:59a gun. That's a rifle.
- 1:03:01That's your best friend. Yeah, and guns are my penis.
- 1:03:03OK. He looks over and he sees.
- 1:03:05Cochrane with Chucky and he drops his rifle and he said
- 1:03:09sorry, I didn't mean to drop my gun.
- 1:03:10And then and that's when they do all the Dick grabbing.
- 1:03:16That's that's all I'm gonna. Say about this, you know I.
- 1:03:19Feel like that's a good note to leave it off on.
- 1:03:20Just like in the background you see everybody just.
- 1:03:22Back there, just, like, grabbing their junk.
- 1:03:24She's. Yeah, so stupid.
- 1:03:28I thought it would have been funny if any just like, fell to
- 1:03:30his knees. Just like, just yeah.
- 1:03:34Pull John Krasinski. Yeah.
- 1:03:39So Cochrane just jumps, dumps Chucky straight in the dump
- 1:03:44truck. God, that's a tongue twister,
- 1:03:48Cochrane. Dumps Chucky straight in the
- 1:03:50dump trunk trunk truck. OK, yeah, I did fuck that up.
- 1:03:54I thought I had it for a second. Yeah, you were so cocky.
- 1:03:57The stare you gave me and then you fucked it up so he.
- 1:04:01Does do that and he and Chucky is screaming and somehow.
- 1:04:07The dump truck driver hears it and he goes to check what the
- 1:04:10screening is, doesn't turn off the fucking truck or take the
- 1:04:14keys with him. It seems like this is going back
- 1:04:17to the lockout tag out problem I had in the last one.
- 1:04:20I don't think that having. The key in the ignition
- 1:04:23necessarily influences whether or not you can do the compactor.
- 1:04:27I think that's a separate thing. No, I think it would I.
- 1:04:30Think it would influence it because you've got to power the
- 1:04:32machinery somehow maybe? I guess either way.
- 1:04:35I understand it because you're in that sense of urgency and
- 1:04:39panic, like, OK, I gotta get it out and fix this situation.
- 1:04:42There's somebody screaming in here, but yeah, he gets stuck in
- 1:04:46there and Chucky crawls out and crushes him.
- 1:04:48Yeah, the cadets. Hear the screaming and they fall
- 1:04:51out to go see what's happening and everybody's a little bit
- 1:04:54shell shocked from it. Whitehurst suggests that that
- 1:04:58night that Andy unpack because he said Shelton likes to do
- 1:05:01surprise inspections, and he also talks about how Shelton
- 1:05:04makes him Polish his shoes. Andy talks about the Good guy
- 1:05:07dolls and Whitehurst asks Andy if he got the package from Tyler
- 1:05:14and he's like, what? What package?
- 1:05:16Meanwhile, we see Chucky is in the room and he's like, he's in
- 1:05:19the chest dabbling around. Yeah.
- 1:05:21He's in the chest and then he opens.
- 1:05:22Up the chest and he's gone. So yeah, he's moving around.
- 1:05:26Why? Hearst then leaves and he
- 1:05:27continues to unpack. And then you see Chuckies like
- 1:05:31crawling underneath the bed. He takes the grabs.
- 1:05:33Andy Switchblade. Yeah, and then he cuts out his
- 1:05:36heel. Which luckily I guess did not
- 1:05:38get a tendon, Yeah, but I think they probably didn't want to put
- 1:05:42in completely out. Of Commission for the rest of
- 1:05:43the movie cuz that makes it harder to yeah do but Chucky
- 1:05:47comes out and he's like. Hey, Andy, what's up?
- 1:05:49Yep, I met a kid. Not gonna go for you this time.
- 1:05:53I just kind of fucking hate you, so I'm still trying to get you.
- 1:05:56But yeah, you know, I'm. I'm going to go get this kid.
- 1:06:00Yeah. I don't even know if he names
- 1:06:01him. He's like Tyler or whatever.
- 1:06:02I don't know. Yeah.
- 1:06:03Oh, no. Andy just feeds.
- 1:06:04Out a yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Tyler was supposed to.
- 1:06:07Deliver the package. Yeah, yeah, but Andy grabs.
- 1:06:10Him and starts banging him up against the floor and that's
- 1:06:14when Shelton walks on and he's. Like what are you doing with
- 1:06:16that doll? And then he takes it and he's
- 1:06:18like this is for my kid sister, which you were confused because
- 1:06:22he thought he said it was for his kids sister.
- 1:06:25And you were like, you mean your daughter?
- 1:06:28Yeah. No, I thought that was really.
- 1:06:30Weird. So I'm glad that I had that
- 1:06:31cleared up for me. But then again, this guy seems
- 1:06:33kind of weird, so whatever Andy sneaks into.
- 1:06:37Shelton's room later that night and he finds where Chucky is and
- 1:06:42is trying to or he's trying to find where Chucky is.
- 1:06:45Chucky jump scares him. Jump scares him.
- 1:06:47With a hunting knife. Yeah.
- 1:06:49Causes him to fall on top of Shelton, which Shelton
- 1:06:54understand ways you know you got Andy standing over top of you
- 1:06:57with a knife out. That's not good.
- 1:07:00Here's the thing about this scene is that.
- 1:07:02It like it hits on the primal fear of being hunted, but also
- 1:07:05the primal fear of not embarrassing yourself in front
- 1:07:07of your peers when you're the new kid in town.
- 1:07:09Oh, and that was both have happened.
- 1:07:12That was why that shot of him. Banging Chucky on the floor was
- 1:07:15so good. Yeah, cuz he he's so it pulls.
- 1:07:18Back and you see it from Shelton.
- 1:07:20'S perspective and it looks kind of silly.
- 1:07:22He's just like, yeah, just playing with doll.
- 1:07:25It's like, that's how you play. Yeah, I can't wait to.
- 1:07:28Talk about older Andy after all of this cuz his arc makes total
- 1:07:33sense. He's so serious in the way of
- 1:07:35things though. We.
- 1:07:37Don't get any fun, Andy. So Shelton.
- 1:07:41Makes the whole dorm March around in the rain and Cochranes
- 1:07:45like what are you doing? He goes, Oh, well, you just told
- 1:07:46me to instill a sense of honesty.
- 1:07:49No, this is that's not what happened.
- 1:07:51That's. Whenever yeah, no cuz Shelton,
- 1:07:54he. Sees it.
- 1:07:55Andy's woken him up. He looks for the dogs.
- 1:07:57Yeah, he thinks somebody's. Stole.
- 1:08:00Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 1:08:00So he's making them all March. In the rain and Andy's trying to
- 1:08:03figure out where Tyler is so he can go save him.
- 1:08:07Because we do see meanwhile, Tyler is he left a no a game for
- 1:08:14Chuck. Yeah, like this kid was out
- 1:08:16roaming the halls and he had a piece of paper saying, hey, I'm
- 1:08:19playing hide and seek, come play me.
- 1:08:20Like this is the game I don't want to play.
- 1:08:21I don't want to play this stupid hide the soul game.
- 1:08:23No, we're playing hide and seek. I love how Chucky, like every
- 1:08:27time he, like, has to deal with this, he's like this fucking
- 1:08:29kid. It's so funny.
- 1:08:32So he's just walking around the halls and he's looking for him
- 1:08:35and the kids like, hey, Charles, come find me.
- 1:08:38Which you're right there kid, Like he's found you.
- 1:08:41That does track for like A7. Or 8 year old how they would
- 1:08:44play. That's true.
- 1:08:45Yeah. So.
- 1:08:46Yeah, he's having to chase this kid around de Sylvan Ivers.
- 1:08:52Have snuck into Cochran's office to read Andy's file cuz they're
- 1:08:57curious about getting more information about him.
- 1:08:59They find Tyler and Charles hiding in the closet and they
- 1:09:03decide they're going to put lipstick on the doll and then
- 1:09:08they hear a noise that they all run out and they leave the doll
- 1:09:11behind. So when the Colonel comes in, he
- 1:09:16sees Chucky with lipstick now smeared across his face because
- 1:09:19he tried to wipe it off and he just dumps the doll in the trash
- 1:09:22can. And then he turns around and
- 1:09:25sees his trash in is now dumped over and he's a little bit
- 1:09:28confused. And thence when Chucky pops out
- 1:09:31with a knife and Cochrane has a heart attack and Chucky almost
- 1:09:35looks sad that he doesn't get to kill him.
- 1:09:38I like it. I like his race.
- 1:09:39He's like. Come on, he gets so funny, like
- 1:09:43he's so disappointed that he didn't get to actually kill him.
- 1:09:47Yeah, I get why people hate this, but at the same time, I
- 1:09:49think it I think it lands the way the Don and TV originally
- 1:09:53wrote it. Yeah, I think it works.
- 1:09:56So at breakfast the next morning, the Sergeant Botnick,
- 1:10:02the Barber, is going around and he's looking at people's hair
- 1:10:05and just scheduling them appointments left and right.
- 1:10:07I love that he's just. My favorite part is where he
- 1:10:11walks up to the bald kid and just like rubs his ass like this
- 1:10:14guy the guy. 'S so proud of him so I was like
- 1:10:18yeah so he tells Whitehurst that he needs to come in immediately
- 1:10:24as soon as breakfast is over. Meanwhile Andy stands up and
- 1:10:29goes to talk to Tyler about Chucky and he's like you need to
- 1:10:33protect yourself. Chucky is not a good guy and
- 1:10:35Tyler was like, you're just jealous because he wants to play
- 1:10:37with me now and and he's like, OK, well, you know what a good
- 1:10:41soldiers always prepared raise your knife back at the same time
- 1:10:44I would be like. Hey, but for real, you stole
- 1:10:47him. It wasn't your package.
- 1:10:50Yeah. So kid has no remorse about he's
- 1:10:52like, yeah, well. You're just jealous because I
- 1:10:54stole from you. I'm like, well, yeah, I'm kind
- 1:10:56of probably pissed off about that, Tyler.
- 1:10:58Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:10:59That was not very. Cool of you, Tyler.
- 1:11:00Here's your fucking knife back and how would you have even
- 1:11:03known? That it was a good guy doll
- 1:11:04because my mom used to put pants and groceries in boxes that
- 1:11:08size, so maybe I was getting a care package from home.
- 1:11:11You know what? That's actually a great point.
- 1:11:12It could have been his mom just sending him like here's, here's.
- 1:11:16A pair of socks. Andy, you're going to need them
- 1:11:18in those military boots. So Botnick finishes up with
- 1:11:25Whitehurst, and Whitehurst needs to leave.
- 1:11:29And then Botnick finds Chucky in the cabinet, and I like that his
- 1:11:33reaction is that he wants to shave Chucky's head.
- 1:11:36It's so weird. I like that, everybody.
- 1:11:38'S having this reaction. Where they're like why do why is
- 1:11:40there a doll in the military school and they're like oh what
- 1:11:43fun can we have with it? This guy really is 1
- 1:11:45dimensional. Though if he sees hair, he must
- 1:11:47cut it. That's his entire thing He sees
- 1:11:49on a doll even. He's like, I'm cutting that hair
- 1:11:52and that one doesn't grow back, Sir, you're not going to be able
- 1:11:54to cut it back again. Savor the moment.
- 1:11:56I think. I think Chucky was.
- 1:11:57A little bit concerned about it. He was very concerned about it.
- 1:12:00He wasn't like. This hair won't come back, Yeah.
- 1:12:03He went and. You know, Charles Lee Ray had
- 1:12:05long hair, so he I think he likes the current situation of
- 1:12:08well, and I think that you even end up making.
- 1:12:10A joke about it in Cult of Chucky.
- 1:12:12Do they One of the dolls having short hair.
- 1:12:15Oh yeah, there is one of those. They're like, yeah, I know.
- 1:12:17You were the wronged party. Oh yeah, I forgot.
- 1:12:21About that. All right.
- 1:12:22So, yeah, he grabs the razor blade from the chair and then
- 1:12:27slices his throat. Yeah.
- 1:12:29And Whitehorse has walked. In and just seen that so he runs
- 1:12:33back out there where they're preparing for the war games and
- 1:12:36they're saying, you know, Colonel Cochran is a big
- 1:12:38believer in tradition. War games are a big tradition.
- 1:12:40He would insist that we continue on and he talks about their
- 1:12:44weapons. They're going to be paintball
- 1:12:46guns. And meanwhile inside we see
- 1:12:49Chucky replacing the paintball pellets with live ammo.
- 1:12:53Andy asked Whitehurst what he saw as they're marching along
- 1:12:56and Whitehurst is just like dodging the question and then at
- 1:13:00camp that night they're all telling scary stories.
- 1:13:03I don't like that we still get campfire stories.
- 1:13:05In this yeah, I like that they. Balance it Out was showing these
- 1:13:08kids still being kids. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:13:11Yeah. So and I'm kind of surprised
- 1:13:13that they actually let him. Like I feel like once they got
- 1:13:16into the actual war shell in this, but a little bit more
- 1:13:19lenient, which is kind of strange even like here, because
- 1:13:23Andy storms away from the campfire and De Silva follows.
- 1:13:26Like nobody gets mad about it. They just go out there and she
- 1:13:28shows him the carnival was like, hey, look at that shit.
- 1:13:31It's like, wow, that's pretty cool.
- 1:13:32We should maybe take the movie there in about 5 minutes.
- 1:13:34She's like, yeah, cuz he even like in the deleted scene, he
- 1:13:37finds him there and like, normally he would be, you know,
- 1:13:39tearing Andy apart and he just tells them and say, hey, the
- 1:13:42lights. Out.
- 1:13:43Yeah, Come on, break it up. I like how Chucky's like
- 1:13:46watching from the side, then he like sees them kiss.
- 1:13:48He's like, damn, I gotta get out of the spot.
- 1:13:51So Andy is planning. To go sneak into the red camp to
- 1:13:54look for Tyler cuz he says he's a sitting duck and Whitehurst is
- 1:13:57refusing to join. He's just saying I can't.
- 1:14:00And when Andy gets to the camp, the other kids say that Tyler is
- 1:14:04a wall with some guy named Charles.
- 1:14:07So Chucky pulls a knife on Tyler as they're walking.
- 1:14:12And Tyler's like, you really aren't a good guy, are you?
- 1:14:14And Chucky's like, Nope, I'm a bad guy.
- 1:14:16And he really tried to warn you, kid.
- 1:14:19Should have listened. Meanwhile, Blue team has
- 1:14:22realized that the map is missing, and they now believe
- 1:14:26that Andy has become a traitor for Red base.
- 1:14:29At first they thought that the red.
- 1:14:31Team like stole it from them. And then when they say that Andy
- 1:14:34is AWOL, they think that he's a traitor for the red team.
- 1:14:38Yeah. So they're marching through the
- 1:14:39woods. Now, and Andy manages to find
- 1:14:44Tyler. I think that's what happens.
- 1:14:47No. Yeah.
- 1:14:48So he. Finds Tyler or no, Andy gets
- 1:14:50caught by his platoon. Yes, that's right.
- 1:14:53And then Tyler runs up and he's shouting about everything that's
- 1:14:56happening and De Silva and some other had gone to check their
- 1:15:00flanks and they're supposed to be checking it on the radio and
- 1:15:03when they radio in for De Silva, Chucky's the one that emails
- 1:15:06back saying that he'll swap De Silva's life for Tyler.
- 1:15:09He he pounces on De Silva. When she went for flanking,
- 1:15:12Yeah, that's right. So he's like holding her hostage
- 1:15:14with a grenade. And yeah, he's he's radioing
- 1:15:18blue team to come over there. And then he radios red team
- 1:15:21saying, hey, this is red team. Let's see the blue team over
- 1:15:23here. You guys need to get in on the
- 1:15:26shit. He's him on the radio.
- 1:15:28Feels very much like Steve Zahn on the radio and joyride.
- 1:15:35Yeah, yeah. Funny.
- 1:15:38So the red team, the blue team runs.
- 1:15:40Up they see Shelton sees Chucky, like moving and talking and
- 1:15:45flipping him off, and they all start shooting and it's just
- 1:15:47paintballs. I like everybody's reaction
- 1:15:49here. Though, And everybody is like,
- 1:15:51wow, you know what? I'll be damned.
- 1:15:53That doll is flipping me off and talking.
- 1:15:56That's just one of the fun things about this series is like
- 1:15:59seeing how people react to that. Yeah, different reactions every.
- 1:16:02Time and then the red team arrives and they start shooting.
- 1:16:07So they're shooting live rounds, which in a way they're still
- 1:16:11painting their enemies red. Damn, you're right.
- 1:16:15And you would think that after one shot they would maybe no.
- 1:16:20But no, they continue to just, they light fucking Sheldon up
- 1:16:26big time. I think that they just hated
- 1:16:29him. Like, oh, this is our chance to
- 1:16:31get Sheldon, even though they don't think that it's like live
- 1:16:33rounds, but like, let's like cheer him with like a fuck ton
- 1:16:35of paintballs. Fuck everybody else.
- 1:16:38So yeah, everybody realizes that he's dead.
- 1:16:40He's not breathing in the chaos. Dasilva and Tyler have both
- 1:16:45escaped, so Chucky throws the grenade.
- 1:16:47Nobody sees the grenade. And why her sacrifices himself?
- 1:16:50He's the only one to see it. Yeah.
- 1:16:52He's like, we're around. Like what the fuck is happening?
- 1:16:53And then this right here, I didn't watch these movies a lot
- 1:16:57growing up, but I caught the scene as a kid and this scene
- 1:17:01stuck with me. I don't know why.
- 1:17:04There was just something about it.
- 1:17:05I was like, damn, that's fucking crazy.
- 1:17:07Like, he, like, jumped on the grenade and just, yeah, this is
- 1:17:10really cool. So we see the carnival now.
- 1:17:14Yeah. Tyler runs to it.
- 1:17:15He runs. To the security tent.
- 1:17:17And the security officer is like, well, listen, I'm sure
- 1:17:19your friend Charles didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
- 1:17:22Yeah, like, listen. To him, he's not that.
- 1:17:28Like, I don't understand why you're not believing the word.
- 1:17:29Like he's saying no, he wants to hurt me.
- 1:17:31It wasn't that type of fight, Mr. Security Guard.
- 1:17:34And he's like, ah, trust me, I think it's OK.
- 1:17:36I'm sure I he probably didn't mean to say that.
- 1:17:38Like, what the fuck are you talking about?
- 1:17:40This guy is like, actually like he held a knife to me.
- 1:17:42Yeah. A child is telling you that his
- 1:17:43life. Was threatened.
- 1:17:44You need to take it a little bit more seriously.
- 1:17:47Andy and De Silva are trying to find Tyler and they walk into
- 1:17:51the security tent and they see the security officer is dead.
- 1:17:55Chucky had been brought into the tent as a lasting found item.
- 1:17:59So that's how he got to that. Oh yeah, He's like, hey, I'll
- 1:18:01know a little. Cheerio kid and he brings out
- 1:18:03the good guy so. We cut to Tyler.
- 1:18:08Is now inside one of the rides yeah, which is really cool all
- 1:18:12of the. Setting yeah.
- 1:18:13This setting and it was built in the.
- 1:18:14One of the universal lots and he's trying to just hide him in.
- 1:18:19The fog machine area to try and play hide the soul trying to do
- 1:18:24the whole thing but Andy and De Silva.
- 1:18:27Come in, Chucky shoots De Silva in the legs so she has to give
- 1:18:31the gun they took from the security officer.
- 1:18:33She has to give it to Andy, who we're all nervous.
- 1:18:36Did Andy become a better shot in the time that he hasn't been
- 1:18:39practicing his shooting? We'll see.
- 1:18:43So Tyler gets caught in a hole as he's trying to run off and
- 1:18:48Chucky comes for him. But then like, one of the props
- 1:18:51in the ride has a sive and it cuts Chucky's face off.
- 1:18:55Oh, that's so weird too. How that's a real blade?
- 1:18:59Yeah, that's that does not make any sense.
- 1:19:01That seems really unsafe. It should be plastic.
- 1:19:03Yeah, it's really. Shocking, yeah, but.
- 1:19:05It cuts his face. In half, like it's I like it,
- 1:19:08but at the same time doesn't really make much sense.
- 1:19:11But whatever, don't think about it.
- 1:19:12Remember everybody. So Tyler takes this opportunity.
- 1:19:16To run and climb up school mountain.
- 1:19:18No, he fucking gets on like. The little dragon thing and
- 1:19:21rides it to the top. He flies up there, which is so
- 1:19:24fucking cool, and then when he gets out he gets knocked.
- 1:19:26Out. So Chucky joins him up there and
- 1:19:28he's about to start doing the chant, but Andy has climbed and
- 1:19:32shoots off one of his arms and then he shoots him in the chest.
- 1:19:37And then he wakes up Tyler and he's like, okay, it's okay,
- 1:19:40we're gonna go. But of course Chucky does his
- 1:19:42like thing that he loves to do. And Tyler is about to fall and
- 1:19:47he's trying to hand Andy the knife as they're like holding on
- 1:19:50to each other. And Chucky is choking him and
- 1:19:54then eventually, and he's able to grab the switchblade and stab
- 1:19:58Chucky with it, throw him over, and then he falls into a large
- 1:20:01industrial sized fan. I love that.
- 1:20:03I love that he falls. In the fan and explodes.
- 1:20:06Yeah, it's. Spectacular like fountain of
- 1:20:11butt blood and butt blood. Yeah, I I don't, I it's such a
- 1:20:16weird thing, but every time he has to die in this series, he
- 1:20:22explodes. It's like they remembered in
- 1:20:24Child's play one like, yeah, he exploded whenever he, like, you
- 1:20:26know, became a doll. So like, let's make him explode
- 1:20:28again. Yeah, it's it's cool.
- 1:20:31So Silva's an ambulance at the end.
- 1:20:34She's OK, but she's gonna be, you know, getting some help.
- 1:20:37And then Andy's, like, getting arrested.
- 1:20:38I don't fucking know. He gets put in the back of a cop
- 1:20:41car. No, I think the cops are just
- 1:20:43gonna. Take him to wherever his next
- 1:20:46home is gonna be. OK, Why would he?
- 1:20:49Not be in military school still well.
- 1:20:52Who knows what the state of Kent is about to be after everything
- 1:20:55that just happened. That's true, yeah.
- 1:20:58A lot of shits went down there. OK, That's how it ends.
- 1:21:02That's how it ends. You know what?
- 1:21:03You're right. This is.
- 1:21:04This deserves an 8. OK, yeah, I'm.
- 1:21:06Keeping mine at 8:00, so that's an easy 8.
- 1:21:09Yep, I think the only thing that I would really.
- 1:21:11Change is like my suggestion at the beginning, maybe see
- 1:21:13Sullivan be a little bit more nefarious and maybe playing more
- 1:21:17of a hand and getting Andy sent to military schools.
- 1:21:20That way he can't fuck up the good guy doll relaunch.
- 1:21:23Yeah, I would. Also say the same, what I said
- 1:21:27about the relationship between Tyler and Andy, I think they
- 1:21:30would have been interesting. Also, like I said with the kill,
- 1:21:34it would have been great to have that kill where he takes
- 1:21:36somebody, pulls their neck back with the hair and like slits the
- 1:21:40throat because it's a cool call back.
- 1:21:43It was right there. All right, Talia.
- 1:21:49Said Please don't ever send me to military school.
- 1:21:53I'm a little baby. Please put Vaseline and Paw bomb
- 1:21:57on my nails and give me my shot. Give me my shot.
- 1:22:00Like she was very much. Like I am a pampered baby,
- 1:22:02please don't send me to military school.
- 1:22:04So I think this horror fighter on multiple levels.
- 1:22:06We've already discussed how I'm afraid she is of Chucky and then
- 1:22:10like the thought of not getting her little paw massages, I think
- 1:22:14that just added to the horror for her.
- 1:22:16So, dare I say it, thanks. Might be a 10 out of 10 for her.
- 1:22:20Whoa, it's very. Very frightening.
- 1:22:22Yeah. OK.
- 1:22:25Zoe's ultimate warrior. We've already said we can't
- 1:22:30choose Chucky for these. We can choose Chucky again.
- 1:22:32Yeah. It's tough.
- 1:22:37But. I.
- 1:22:39Think it would be Tyler because Tyler plays all through the
- 1:22:45night just like Tyler or like Zoe does.
- 1:22:48Yeah. And you know.
- 1:22:50It's like hide and seek. She's like, you know, she's
- 1:22:52playing with her prey. When you're ready to go to bed,
- 1:22:54she's like. No, actually we're going to play
- 1:22:56right now. Yeah.
- 1:22:57OK. I can, I can.
- 1:22:58I can go with that. OK.
- 1:23:03All right, who did you relate to?
- 1:23:05Who? Did I relate to I guess.
- 1:23:13I guess I related to the one. Member of the exec board.
- 1:23:17That was like, hey, I feel like it's a bit tasteless to relaunch
- 1:23:20this good guy doll after all of the controversy that surrounded
- 1:23:23it. I could see that, yeah.
- 1:23:28Who is that I relate to? I think I related to Tyler
- 1:23:32because he was always carrying around his.
- 1:23:35I think it was some kind of video portable game.
- 1:23:38Yeah, console type thing. I was very much into that shit.
- 1:23:41It almost looked like a Sega type thing, but I don't know if
- 1:23:44that was a Sega console at that time.
- 1:23:47This was before before I was born so it makes me think of I
- 1:23:52had this. Little, like, it was like a fake
- 1:23:57laptop almost, and it had like a bunch of games on it.
- 1:24:00But it's very big and thick and clunky.
- 1:24:03And that's kind of what his thing makes me think of.
- 1:24:05OK, Yeah. Yeah, but I related to that.
- 1:24:08That reminded me a lot of the shit that I would do.
- 1:24:12OK. A new tag line.
- 1:24:22Chucky's back and he's got some new fans.
- 1:24:26Got some new fans. Because of the, because of
- 1:24:29Tyler, and because he dies in a fan.
- 1:24:32It's kind of funny. I really resisted the urge to do
- 1:24:38the. Annie Wilkes, I'm your #1 fan.
- 1:24:41OK, let's do that one. OK.
- 1:24:43All right. All right.
- 1:24:45Cool, cool, cool. All right, you got a review.
- 1:24:47I do. This is a win out of 10 on IMDb
- 1:24:52because I knew we were fans of this and we're we're defenders
- 1:24:56of child's play. Three.
- 1:24:57Yeah. So this is a one out of 10.
- 1:25:00It says horrible. And this was from 2002.
- 1:25:04And child's play three has to be one of the worst.
- 1:25:06Attempts to a horror movie I've ever seen.
- 1:25:07The acting was OK but so many plot holes screwed this movie to
- 1:25:10death. The whole story was stupid.
- 1:25:12One scene of realism and all bad.
- 1:25:14I wouldn't recommend this movie if I was paid to.
- 1:25:16The deaths took too long and they were stupid.
- 1:25:19Why would an army man want to cut a doll's hair?
- 1:25:22Why would a carnival be right next to a military school with
- 1:25:24grenades and guns and stuff like that that screws this up.
- 1:25:28Overall I hated this movie and would never see this again ever.
- 1:25:32Damn. You're fixating on the wrong
- 1:25:35things there like it's this movie is a big camp.
- 1:25:40Yeah, it is. I don't, man.
- 1:25:43I like, did it take any longer than the other two to get to
- 1:25:48kills? I don't think it did.
- 1:25:50I think that we moved pretty much in line with the rest of
- 1:25:53the series. Yeah, I think we kind of
- 1:25:55actually jumped. Pretty quickly with Chucky, like
- 1:25:58we got straight to the point, like, OK, you guys, this is the
- 1:26:01third movie. We know that the doll was
- 1:26:03possessed. Yeah, I don't question.
- 1:26:06The carnival thing too, because we're not in like a fucking
- 1:26:08actual war. Other things exist.
- 1:26:11Military schools can be close to other things.
- 1:26:14Yeah. Doesn't bother me at all.
- 1:26:19I like how they're like, the kills are stupid.
- 1:26:21Like what? I think that kills we've got.
- 1:26:25We've got some interesting kills.
- 1:26:26There's some interesting ones, yeah, I like.
- 1:26:28Chucky going into the fan and then blowing up I I liked the
- 1:26:32twigs that getting. Killed with his own toys.
- 1:26:35Yeah, I liked swapping. Out the paintballs with live
- 1:26:39ammunition. I thought that that was
- 1:26:40creative. Whitehurst sacrifices himself.
- 1:26:43That's nice. I like the the bait and switch
- 1:26:45of the Colonel having the heart attack, and I like botnet
- 1:26:49getting The Sweeney Todd death. It all makes sense.
- 1:26:52Yeah, I guess it's personal. Preference.
- 1:26:54So whatever, But it worked for me.
- 1:26:57Yeah, but as we've been. Saying ourselves, this is not a
- 1:27:00movie that you want to think about, so if plot holes and
- 1:27:04things like that are a problem for you and you can't turn your
- 1:27:08brain off enough to just enjoy a movie, I can see how this might
- 1:27:11be a struggle to get through them.
- 1:27:13I like that I can do that. I.
- 1:27:15Like I hate like I get it when I see some reviews with people
- 1:27:18saying stuff like I just can't get past this certain thing.
- 1:27:21I'm like, I don't know, like it's a if it's fun to watch and
- 1:27:24it's fun to like sit through. I really just don't care.
- 1:27:27Like you don't have to. It does not have to make sense.
- 1:27:30I think that's one of those things that this podcast.
- 1:27:32Has taught me is that I don't really think about movies too
- 1:27:34deeply and then when I'm starting to write stuff down I'm
- 1:27:36like, but wait. And this podcast has made.
- 1:27:39Me think more about. Movies than I ever have in my
- 1:27:41life. Yeah, same.
- 1:27:42But it's also. Funny too, whenever people are
- 1:27:45like, oh man, I left the meaning behind that movie.
- 1:27:47Like that movie had meaning. Like I just like it was, it was
- 1:27:49kind of. I just had fun, yeah, but I
- 1:27:53don't think about. It I just like I'm there for the
- 1:27:55ride. OK, well, let's check out what
- 1:27:59some listeners had to say about it.
- 1:28:00OK, alrighty, over on we have Aquila boobs.
- 1:28:07OK, who says don't fuck with the Chuck?
- 1:28:10Oh yeah, forget he says that. Yeah, that opening.
- 1:28:13This was the. First Chucky movie I ever
- 1:28:15watched. Creep me out man.
- 1:28:16Didn't watch the others until I was a bit older.
- 1:28:19Glad Sullivan finally got his in the one in this one though.
- 1:28:23Greedy Dick hole. Not the best one, but a
- 1:28:26sentimental favorite. Yeah, I get it.
- 1:28:29Yeah. I I.
- 1:28:30Don't think I would be ranking this at the.
- 1:28:32Top of my Child's Play movies, but I don't think it's as bad as
- 1:28:35people want to say it is. I like it a lot.
- 1:28:38Honestly, I think it's a really strong movie.
- 1:28:42I don't hate it like I don't. I just, it's just one of those
- 1:28:45ones where like, yeah, it's not in my top, but it's it's still a
- 1:28:50highly rated movie for me in this series.
- 1:28:54Whenever we do the overall franchise wrap up for this, when
- 1:28:59we're done, I don't think it's gonna be the bottom.
- 1:29:01No, I can't say that. Much already well I.
- 1:29:04Don't know, no. It won't be in the bottom.
- 1:29:06Yeah, OK. Yeah, OK.
- 1:29:10No, we got another shit. Go ahead.
- 1:29:12Yeah, yeah, it is on Instagram, and it is from Michael E Howard.
- 1:29:19Oh OK, Who says Child's Play Three is the perfect end to the
- 1:29:24original trilogy and Child's Play namesake?
- 1:29:27After this, we get a whole new chapter of the Chucky world.
- 1:29:30Of all the movies and the franchise, this used to be my
- 1:29:32favorite but time has knocked it down a bit.
- 1:29:35But this doesn't negate how good it is.
- 1:29:37From the creepy hair guy opening Death by Toys and the amusement
- 1:29:41park fun, Chucky shows us he is still ready to play at 8.
- 1:29:44Off soon. Yeah, always.
- 1:29:47Right on the on the beat with us.
- 1:29:49Yeah, that's great. I'm glad they this was.
- 1:29:52A favorite there too, you know, like it had its defenders still.
- 1:29:59OK. I don't know.
- 1:30:00I don't know what to say about it.
- 1:30:01Yeah, I fall in line with that pretty much.
- 1:30:05Well, I think that. Covers child's play.
- 1:30:08Three. Yeah, next week we are going to
- 1:30:11be talking about the decent, the decent, the decent.
- 1:30:16And I'm going to. Drive Travis crazy with that.
- 1:30:20So right now you can watch it for free on Prime via freebie or
- 1:30:25on YouTube Prime Time. You can also rent it from Google
- 1:30:27Player Fandango at home. That's a creepy little
- 1:30:32claustrophobic, upsetting movie. I'm excited, yeah.
- 1:30:37And I this is one that's been really like.
- 1:30:39Widely requested for a while now, yeah.
- 1:30:43So I'm finally. Ready to talk about.
- 1:30:46I'm glad that we're we're getting to that point.
- 1:30:48Yeah, it's a fucking crazy one. So if you've not watched it,
- 1:30:52absolutely watch it before you listen to his talk about it or
- 1:30:56if you want to listen first. It's fine to whatever works for
- 1:30:58you. But yeah, just trust us.
- 1:31:00It's yeah, yeah. It's a, It's a.
- 1:31:02Good movie. It's really good.
- 1:31:03Watch the watch the one with the original British ending though
- 1:31:06if you can. I don't know if you can really.
- 1:31:08Choose how to do that, you just turn off the.
- 1:31:13No, actually you have to keep. Going, don't you?
- 1:31:16Yeah. It's not turning it off early.
- 1:31:18It's not turning it off. Yeah.
- 1:31:20It's like you got to go to YouTube.
- 1:31:22And look up, man, look up the ending on YouTube.
- 1:31:25That's going to be a whole thing.
- 1:31:26Yeah. All right.
