- 0:00Alright, to end the night here, let's talk about the lack of
- 0:08parents or parenting that is clearly on full display in
- 0:17society today. So Long story short, why do you
- 0:23think so many parents aren't actually being what they're
- 0:28supposed to be with his parents 'cause you have too many of them
- 0:35trying to be their child's friend instead of a parent.
- 0:43I will tell you this though if I ever got any.
- 0:47So a major trouble and I can only speak for myself.
- 0:59My parents, and again, I'm grateful to so happen with my
- 1:03life. They would've kicked my ass if I
- 1:09had gone to any sort of major trouble.
- 1:16Now see, I don't know why this is the, you know, case here.
- 1:24Discipline and holding your children accountable for
- 1:27whatever reason is certainly look down on.
- 1:33Why do you think that is? Because everybody believes that
- 1:37if you quote UN quote, discipline your child, you will
- 1:41essentially alienate them. I'm sorry, I thought holding
- 1:52your children accountable was the right way to go about it.
- 2:01I thought that enforcing discipline wasn't a bad thing,
- 2:06and I certainly don't that there's a point to be made of
- 2:11teaching your children to be responsible for every mistake
- 2:16they made, no matter how small or large it is.
- 2:24But you know what's really also apparent here in society today?
- 2:29And I've said this actually once before, where bears were peeing.
- 2:33People have gone too damn soft and you see why a great handful
- 2:41of their kids ultimately go out in the world thinking they could
- 2:46get away with almost anything they feel like and not have to
- 2:49suffer the consequences. All Stars at home.
- 3:00If you can't learn if you're a parent to hold your child
- 3:04accountable, then how do you think it's going to be when they
- 3:07find themselves in a significant scenario what they're all doing?
- 3:14But because you didn't have the foresight when they were much
- 3:17younger to actually hold themselves accountable when they
- 3:22were kids, it's only a matter of time before they end up finding
- 3:28themselves in a significant issue to where they could spend
- 3:33decades plus in prison. And if you're a parent, you are
- 3:39going to ask the routine question that you're handful of
- 3:42them do. Where did I go wrong?
- 3:45Or what was it that I could have done better when the answer was
- 3:52right in front of you in the mirror this whole time?
- 3:57That had you actually done what you were supposed to do as a
- 4:03parent, teaching them the basics of right and wrong, how to do
- 4:08things a certain way and not be someone who thinks that the
- 4:14rules don't apply to them, that would be a good start.
- 4:19Unfortunately, a large part of them will never understand that,
- 4:24because you ultimately not only failed as a parent, but you
- 4:32failed as a human. Now, yes, the children have to
- 4:36your child rather has to take the responsibility themselves.
- 4:40That is perfectly evident. But you as a parent, you did
- 4:45yourself absolutely no favors by not teaching them
- 4:50accountability, taking responsibility for their actions
- 4:55in manning up to their shortcomings.
- 4:59So if you're a parent who ultimately feels, you know at a
- 5:04certain point your child ever gets into a major trouble
- 5:08scenario, yes, the child, as I said, has to take their part to
- 5:14blame. But so do you, because you chose
- 5:18to not do what you should have been doing all this time, which
- 5:22was to actually be a parent, not their friend.
