  Speaker 2: that element. And they, they led Houston 17, nothing. They

  Speaker 2: were in the game with Oklahoma state late at 21,

  Speaker 2: 21 and the third early fourth, like they flirted, but
• 4:34
  Speaker 2: not finished against good teams. And now they, they finished,
• 4:37
  Speaker 2: you know, against BYU and got the win. And so, yeah,

  Speaker 2: certainly disappointing. I just thought the BYU defense would handle

  Speaker 2: this better. They did not tackle. Well, there were a

  Speaker 2: couple of plays there where BYU did not wrap up.

  Speaker 1: Where they throw a screen.

  Speaker 2: That's a white flag that they're going to punt. They

  Speaker 2: throw a spring. You just get them for seven yards,

  Speaker 2: they kick and midfield. And then you go from there. No, they,

  Speaker 2: they get way down the field. They don't wrap up.

  Speaker 2: one play. And I respect what Notre Dame did was

  Speaker 2: they didn't complain about like the last play holding or

  Speaker 2: one second. They said, well, we should have, you know,

  Speaker 2: we kind of got beat during the game here. You

  Speaker 2: got beat during the game. And, and over time had chances,

  Speaker 1: So yeah, it's, it's disappointing. I, I didn't think.

  Speaker 2: That BYU was going to run the table. Certainly after

  Speaker 2: Notre Dame, you get excited and you think, well, Hey, maybe,

  Speaker 2: but college football is shown this year. It's hard to

  Speaker 2: they run the table. That'd be wild. Like I doubt

  Speaker 2: And so, yeah, the, the way BYU lost was disappointing.

  Speaker 2: You know, I, I didn't feel like BYU missed LJ

  Speaker 2: Martin against Notre Dame. I really felt it last week,

  Speaker 2: ran for only what they walked for. seeing, seeing any

  Speaker 2: more was back, but he doesn't quite have the kind

  Speaker 2: of lateral movement quite yet coming off a knee injury.

  Speaker 3: But also it's really hard to win. like you also

  Speaker 3: helmet being ripped off, whether that's a face mask or

  Speaker 3: not flag, you know, then the 10 second runoff, they

  Speaker 3: admitted again, after the fact, it's like with the Notre

  Speaker 3: Dame game, that that was not adjudicated properly. And then

  Speaker 3: the roughing was very clearly a makeup call for me.

  Speaker 3: We screwed that up. It's like these kids deserve better.

  Speaker 2: up for a minute. So I just decided I was

  Speaker 2: him and it was really funny, but yeah, then BYU

  Speaker 2: gets the ball, but then they kind of play it conservatively.

  Speaker 3: And then of course, everyone is like, what? No, ruined

  Speaker 2: love the buildup all day. I love what these two

  Speaker 2: teams have created in terms of owning the late night kicks.

  Speaker 2: Let's be honest in the mountain time zone and the

  Speaker 2: Pacific time zone, you got to have teams that are interesting.

  Speaker 2: And if Oregon or Washington or Utah or UCLA or

  Speaker 2: BYU are available, USC, like you, you need those games

  Speaker 2: at night for the country. They want four TV windows

  Speaker 2: like this. That works. And I know Mark Carlin has

  Speaker 2: not been a huge fan of the eight 15, BYU.

  Speaker 2: But originally I hated the eight 15 when BYU was independent.

  Speaker 2: Cause they weren't always getting good games at those times.

  Speaker 2: So it's like, really? We have to watch this random game,

  Speaker 2: you know, at eight 15 BYU and Utah, I feel

  Speaker 2: is what it is. It's BL Utah. Once the game kicks,

  Speaker 2: no one's going to care what time it was. But yeah,

  Speaker 2: at 10 AM, whether that's emotionally or, or with certain

  Speaker 2: BYU has not beaten Utah by, by 10 plus since 96.

  Speaker 2: And that's the last time I can remember this game

  Speaker 2: being early like this. And so it's part of me

  Speaker 2: as a BYU guy that loves that vibe, you know,

  Speaker 2: BYU ran for 300 yards in 96 with a great

  Speaker 2: team and had success.

  Speaker 1: I don't see that happening this year, but certainly.

  Speaker 2: I liked the energy from sort of remembering that historically,

  Speaker 2: but yeah, it's going to be interesting. There've been day

  Speaker 2: games over the years back when, you know, your game wasn't,

  Speaker 2: you know, TV wasn't, it was a big deal, but

  Speaker 2: it wasn't as big of a deal. Like one of

  Speaker 2: the greatest games ever played in this rivalry, you know,

  Speaker 2: some of them were on random channels, the mountain or

  Speaker 2: versus or whatever. Like it just just when they kick

  Speaker 2: off the, the focus is on that in that moment.

  Speaker 2: So I don't, I don't think it actually changed the game.

  Speaker 2: I think it changes sort of the, the buildup and

  Speaker 2: the hype of the day a little bit. And Oh,

  Speaker 3: like that, that's good. That's a place where a lot

  Speaker 3: of people are supposed to watch your game. Should I

  Speaker 3: be caring if people watch the game? Like this is

  Speaker 3: our game. Nobody's ever going to understand it. I want

  Speaker 3: them to appreciate it, but no one's ever going to

  Speaker 3: understand it or care about it. Like, like we do.

  Speaker 3: And like they do about, Ohio state, Michigan or USC,

  Speaker 3: Notre Dame or whatever. Like it's too late. You're not

  Speaker 3: going to catch up. So catering to a national audience,
