- 0:49Welcome everyone to Neat Talks.
- 0:51Happy to see everybody.
- 0:52Welcome in.
- 0:53And, uh, we have Nina today and Esmeralda with us.
- 0:57Uh, so that's a special Neat Talks.
- 0:59Uh, first time we got two guests at the same time.
- 1:02Uh, they did Daytona 24.
- 1:04So welcome girls.
- 1:06Hello.
- 1:07Hi.
- 1:09Hello.
- 1:09Uh, so let's start, uh, how was your Daytona 24?
- 1:13What kind of issues did you experience through this race?
- 1:16Let's, let's go.
- 1:17Uh, I think we can start with, uh, with Nina and then Esmeralda, uh, going
- 1:21to tell about her experience as well.
- 1:25Um, yeah, sure, so I did the qualifying, uh, which didn't go as well as I
- 1:31planned, but like, you know, we qualified P9 in class, which is alright.
- 1:37Um, but then, um, I dropped the start, and sadly had a spin, uh, at the start,
- 1:42completely like My own fault, but like, I didn't touch anyone, didn't touch
- 1:47the wall or whatever, so it was fine.
- 1:49I was just, um, down a couple of seconds off, like, the field.
- 1:53Um, but yeah, from then on, uh, we just kept it clean and, uh, maybe it was
- 1:58also a good thing that we weren't in the field because, like, there were,
- 2:00like, some, some issues up ahead that I saw and kind of that kind of stuff.
- 2:04So, in a 24 hour race, there's plenty of time to make up time, obviously.
- 2:09So, uh, We just, uh, completely went like, Hey, let's keep it safe, just,
- 2:14um, without incidents and everything.
- 2:17And, uh, yeah, it was pretty much without incidents for the first, I don't know,
- 2:22like two hours or something, just a couple of tracks, but nothing really.
- 2:26And then, um, I already like left the cockpit.
- 2:30And gave it over to Sarah, I believe, at first.
- 2:34And then, uh, it was like between Sarah and Esmeralda for a little bit.
- 2:38And, um, eventually I went to bed, but maybe Esmeralda can talk
- 2:43about her stint a bit more then.
- 2:47Uh, yeah, well, I have to be honest, I don't remember very well.
- 2:52So, um, but yeah.
- 2:54I, I took the car, um, from, I think, from my first stint, it was still without rain.
- 3:01Uh, stint went fine, no major issues, and then, um, in our
- 3:05next stint, It started to rain.
- 3:08Um, so that was, uh, interesting.
- 3:14Just a second.
- 3:16Um, sorry, I got a bit distracted there.
- 3:22No, it was, um, pretty difficult conditions.
- 3:25And, uh, Sarah Dove, uh, drives, uh, with a, what was it?
- 3:30G29, I think, which makes it difficult to drive in the rain.
- 3:34So I took over.
- 3:36Um, yeah.
- 3:39Is it your cat again?
- 3:40Sorry.
- 3:42It's fine.
- 3:44Um, so yeah, um, so I took over from Sarah and didn't really have any major issues.
- 3:53And then I think Bajska took over.
- 3:56Uh, yeah, that's like right around the time when, when I then went to bed.
- 4:00And, uh, obviously, as you mentioned, the first set of rain was very difficult.
- 4:05Very sporty rain and very, um, yeah, changing conditions.
- 4:10So the track was different, uh, every lap.
- 4:13Uh, but we fought our way.
- 4:14Our way back up to eighth place, if I remember correctly, and, uh,
- 4:21yeah, and then like with rain, it was like a bit all over the place,
- 4:24all teams had like different kind of like pit stops when people went
- 4:28on wets, maybe some people still was out and dries and everything, but.
- 4:33Yeah, we just kept the clean, the car clean for, um, a very long time.
- 4:39And then, uh, yeah, as you said, uh, in the night, uh, Bayezidan, uh,
- 4:45went in and I went to bed because my stint was very early in the night.
- 4:49I think it was like, uh, like 3 a.
- 4:51m.
- 4:52Roughly.
- 4:53Uh, so in the night, um, there were like some, like one or two incidents, I think,
- 4:59Esmeralda, um, which like lost a little bit of time, but, uh, yeah, it's fine.
- 5:07Yeah, Sarah got hit in the back.
- 5:10Oh, right.
- 5:11Yes.
- 5:12I, I don't know if it was a GTP or, yeah.
- 5:16Oh, SpongeBob.
- 5:18Yeah, it was a SpongeBob livery.
- 5:20Um.
- 5:21And I mean, yeah, it's just, uh, they just went a bit wide into, uh, the
- 5:25entry of the second horseshoe and then just, you know, on the wet track,
- 5:30very difficult conditions, locked the tires a little bit and just like rear
- 5:35ended us a bit, which wasn't too bad.
- 5:38I think it was like six minutes of repair, so.
- 5:40It was all right.
- 5:42And, uh, yeah.
- 5:43Then in the night we had, I think, one contact with the wall
- 5:48of like 15 minutes of repair.
- 5:51And I think Bayecki went off as well.
- 5:54I don't know if she had any, like, contact with that.
- 5:57Yeah, I think she went straight into a wall once.
- 6:00Wow.
- 6:01Yeah.
- 6:01And then, and then we had, uh, wait, I actually have like a
- 6:05small recap on the side here.
- 6:07Uh, we went back in, back a couple of positions.
- 6:11I don't remember.
- 6:12Oh yeah.
- 6:13We were up to sixth at first and went back to eighth because of that.
- 6:17Uh, and then when I got up, uh, it was like me and Beitske, uh, just.
- 6:22you know, swapping stints.
- 6:23And, uh, we went back down to sixth with, I don't know, I think like
- 6:29six hours to go or something when you and Sarah, uh, came back online.
- 6:34And, uh, yeah, from that, uh, just further, like trying to
- 6:39keep it clean and everything.
- 6:40And we managed to be in a very comfortable P4 in class.
- 6:45And, uh, with, like, a couple laps to the car behind and a
- 6:49couple laps to the car in front.
- 6:51So, it was a very, um, stable condition at that stage.
- 6:55And then we just, uh, yeah, did our own race and, uh, kept it
- 6:59out of the wall and everything.
- 7:00And that's also where we finished.
- 7:02So, P4.
- 7:03That's a great result.
- 7:05And, uh, yeah, I think also Esmeralda for you, it was like
- 7:09the highest SOF you ever drove in.
- 7:11Yeah, definitely.
- 7:12And, uh, you did very well for that.
- 7:14So, uh, yeah, your times were really good.
- 7:19You were pretty consistent and everything.
- 7:21And, uh, yeah, overall great team.
- 7:25Like, uh, I'm looking forward to the next time I get to drive with the
- 7:29three girls and, uh, it was great fun.
- 7:33Yeah.
- 7:33Um, you, you just said that you had some kind of like mixed,
- 7:37uh, conditions in the race.
- 7:39I think we, uh, we had the same, I'm not sure if, uh, conditions
- 7:42were the same in the all.
- 7:43Uh, but we also had, uh, kind of spotted rain and, uh, it just,
- 7:49you know, started and then ended again, uh, race with Olympus Sport.
- 7:53Uh, this time we been in a GTP car, Ferrari, and, you know, wind up a
- 7:59P5 and we actually didn't finish.
- 8:02So we, uh, we had like four or five hours.
- 8:05So the end of the race, and unfortunately we had to call in the car because,
- 8:10uh, one of the teammates, he just, uh, you know, braked and, uh, went
- 8:15straight to the wall, um, and just broke the whole front of the car.
- 8:19And yeah, unfortunately we're just like, okay, we, we're okay.
- 8:22We P5, uh, like out of 22 cars.
- 8:25So only like four, uh, GTPs survive in the split.
- 8:29That was crazy.
- 8:32That is crazy.
- 8:32Yes.
- 8:33Yeah, you know, definitely.
- 8:34That's the first Daytona for everybody in a racing where we had different
- 8:38conditions where we had rain first time.
- 8:41Um, would you like to have, uh, to, you know, to drive in the dry or like
- 8:48it was really interesting for you to drive in the rain and this mixed
- 8:51conditions and, um, How was it for you to, like, when you jump into the car
- 8:57and, uh, how was it to get used to, uh, the conditions and Nina and Esmeralda?
- 9:04I'll let you go first.
- 9:06Yeah, it's fine.
- 9:07Um, so when I jumped in for Sarah, I, like, I hadn't driven
- 9:12in the rain in that race yet, so I jumped in right in, in the rain.
- 9:17Um, but it actually went quite well.
- 9:19I was really comfortable with the car.
- 9:21So, I think I was really happy with how it went, because, you know, I'm,
- 9:27there's nothing in that first thing that could have gone better than it did.
- 9:31Um, unfortunately, in my second stint, um, as we already talked about, that
- 9:37we had some damage, I was on cold tires out in the rain, just got in
- 9:42the car, and, um, yeah, I, like, I completely misjudged the bus stop.
- 9:48Uh, which ended us in the wall.
- 9:51Uh, which was a shame, really.
- 9:52But after that, we picked up the pace again.
- 9:55And, yeah, it was, like, It was challenging, but I was also
- 10:01very comfortable, which was great for the circumstances.
- 10:06Uh, yeah, and then, um, when I got back in, also because, like, I drove
- 10:11the very first Sint, and, um, it was obviously dry at that stage, and then
- 10:15I was just, like, around and, like, sporting and that kind of stuff, but
- 10:19I didn't drive in the wet, uh, in the race until after I slept, and, um, so,
- 10:26yeah, I went out onto a track that had pretty st stable, but like medium rain.
- 10:34And, uh, then for my second nightstand, uh, it was starting to, like, the rain had
- 10:43stopped just when I got back in the car.
- 10:46And then quite quickly, there was like the dry line really forming up.
- 10:50And, um, I went out.
- 10:52Like already on slicks again, which was, uh, which was fine on the line.
- 10:57But, um, if you ever needed to like step off the line, then
- 11:01it was still very slippery.
- 11:02But yeah, we, we managed to just, you know, uh, keep it on
- 11:07track, keep it pointed straight.
- 11:09And, uh, it was very fun.
- 11:11So I really, really enjoyed driving these like changing conditions
- 11:15where you kind of have to like.
- 11:17Judge every, every lap a little bit, like how much grip you have
- 11:21and just not overdoing it, but still trying to be as fast as you can.
- 11:26And, uh, yeah, that was fun.
- 11:28It was also very rewarding because it was a drying track, so the conditions were
- 11:32getting better and better, and then it was just So rewarding to have like new
- 11:37fastest laps, like every couple of laps.
- 11:40And, um, it, it felt very rewarding driving in those conditions.
- 11:45That's great.
- 11:46Uh, also got questions to Esmeralda.
- 11:48Was it your first time in LMP2 car or you drove this car before this race?
- 11:54No, I've, I've, I've driven it before.
- 11:57Yeah, got plenty of experience in the LMP2.
- 12:00That's great.
- 12:01You know, I found it, uh, by myself that LMP2 is a lot easier
- 12:05to drive in rain conditions.
- 12:06Like it's really fun.
- 12:08Uh, if we're talking about GDP, it's really hard sometimes because you just.
- 12:13speed because you can, uh, gain boost.
- 12:16You're not breaking that hard with this car.
- 12:18Um, unfortunately I didn't try Daytona in rain conditions, uh, because, uh, my
- 12:23stint should be like in the morning the next day and, um, the ultimate, uh, who
- 12:29drove, uh, before me crashed the car.
- 12:31So unfortunately I didn't get into the car in wet conditions.
- 12:35Um, so.
- 12:38How is it for you to manage the traffic because traffic at Daytona was crazy
- 12:43sometimes, especially on the start of the race when everybody close and you know,
- 12:47GTP is reaching you and you're reaching in the same time actually the GT freeze.
- 12:51How did you manage to go through this?
- 12:55Nina, you should start because you started the race.
- 12:58Okay, yeah, exactly.
- 12:59Um, so, uh, since I was down by like five seconds to like the back of the
- 13:06LMPG field quite consistently, you know, I didn't really lose much time to
- 13:10them at the start, but like, obviously, because of my spin, I was back a bit.
- 13:15Um, and then, I was in this condition or like in this position where I, um, just
- 13:22caught up to the GT3 field for lapping them the first time and right at the same
- 13:28time the GTP field arrived to lap me.
- 13:31So I had You know, obviously because it's like the first few laps of the
- 13:35race, the GT3 field was still very tight together and I had to really try
- 13:41to navigate them and get through them.
- 13:43Um, but I also had to yield to the GTPs coming from behind all the time.
- 13:48So in a couple of situations, it was really tight and really
- 13:52difficult to find your place.
- 13:54And, um.
- 13:56Yeah, just to also predict where the other classes go and just make it very obvious
- 14:01with your car positioning and your kind of like language that you convey with how you
- 14:08position your car where you want to go to.
- 14:11You know, signal like the slower class that you want to overtake, but also
- 14:15simultaneously to the GDP that you see them that you leave them the space.
- 14:19And it was tricky and I did lose a bit of time in all of that traffic then.
- 14:25But, um, yeah, at the end it was fine because.
- 14:29Especially for like the first half of the race, it was just very much like,
- 14:33okay, just stay out of incidents, keep the car clean, a race is still going
- 14:37on for so many hours that like a bit of time here or there doesn't matter.
- 14:42It's just important to keep it out of the wall and everything.
- 14:45Yeah, that's true.
- 14:46Um, I think the main thing, uh, in like endurance races overall
- 14:50in that long races like Daytona 24, just to keep car on the track.
- 14:54And if you like, you know, better to lose a bit more time on the track
- 14:59with the traffic than end up with a crashing GT3 or something like this.
- 15:03So, yeah, I think I agree with you with this.
- 15:06And Esmeralda, how was it for you?
- 15:08How did you manage the traffic from your side?
- 15:12Um, so as Nina mentioned before, it was my first race in, like, this, uh, SOF.
- 15:20Um, so it was a lot easier than I was used to, um, because most of the time,
- 15:29uh, in lower SOF, it's just less clean.
- 15:33And they give you less space.
- 15:35Um, and also in like, I gave lots of space just to not come in contact
- 15:43with anyone, but I gave way too much than that was actually necessary.
- 15:47So, um, it takes a lot getting used to, cause the driving is way more
- 15:52clean than I'm, I am actually used to.
- 15:56And yeah, I, I still have loads to learn.
- 15:59Uh, so I'm taking every experience into the next race.
- 16:03And get better and better.
- 16:06It's also maybe a bit for context, like our, um, so F in the race
- 16:10of the LMP twos was I think 3.
- 16:132 K or something.
- 16:15And, um, you like your eye reading is I think like at like 1500
- 16:21because you just don't do that.
- 16:22A lot of officials, you know, there's no shame in that.
- 16:25And, um, I absolutely know the feeling.
- 16:28Uh, but yeah, it's definitely that this like SF, you can really.
- 16:33trust the other cars around you to just hold their line.
- 16:37And it's fine if you just give, like, on your, I don't know, on your inside,
- 16:41to just have, like, I don't know, 1.
- 16:432 cars of width, just giving them that for, like, a little bit of error,
- 16:47but, like, they will keep your line.
- 16:49But if you're not used to that, then you probably give, like, one and a half to
- 16:52two car widths of Space and in the inside, um, but you know, we were spotting for you
- 16:58and we're trying to just, um, yeah, uh, make sure that like, hey, um, you're fine.
- 17:05You can absolutely do it like that.
- 17:07But you can also like be a bit closer people.
- 17:10Uh, tend to keep their lines and you can trust them at that as well.
- 17:15Yeah, you know, that's actually really awesome that, uh, Esmeralda had this
- 17:20opportunity to drive with you because, uh, when you, you know, like starting,
- 17:25you're not doing a lot of officials, you're not doing, for example, a lot
- 17:28of, uh, endurances and you get into the team where it got, uh, uh, faster
- 17:32at people and who had, uh, who's got more experience, uh, you definitely,
- 17:37you know, just, you know, the jumping to the next step after such events.
- 17:41And I think there was a really good,
- 17:46those morale there.
- 17:47What do you think?
- 17:48How was it for you to to drive with like to gain experience from
- 17:52your teammates in this event?
- 17:56Yeah, well, we talked about it last time that you interviewed me, but I then it
- 18:03would be a dream for me to join this team.
- 18:06And then a couple of people made it happen.
- 18:09Um, I have to thank Nina for this as well, uh, because she, she heard it and
- 18:14she immediately contacted Ceci about it.
- 18:17Um, so yeah, it's for me, it was really a dream come true
- 18:21and they can learn me so much.
- 18:26Um, so it's, it's just overall a great opportunity for me to
- 18:32take steps in, in sim racing.
- 18:34And, uh, obviously I'm not there yet.
- 18:37I still have lots to learn.
- 18:39I have to get quicker and quicker, but I'm with the right people for that now.
- 18:43So, yeah, I'm looking forward to all the races that we can do together and.
- 18:47I was truly honored to be able to raise this with the three girls.
- 18:52That's really awesome.
- 18:53It's also, um, to add to that, maybe a little backstory, we were racing at the
- 18:58Sim Expo, you know, you were part of that.
- 19:00And then, um, that's where I met you for the first time and we
- 19:04got along great and everything.
- 19:05And then the race came on and, um, obviously I looked at like people before
- 19:10and saw like, okay, a 1500 I rating.
- 19:12That's.
- 19:12You know, not bad, but like, I don't know what to expect in here and there.
- 19:17Uh, but then you really, really surprised me with your lap times.
- 19:20You were really quick.
- 19:21You were up there with like, um, really like the fastest of us.
- 19:26And, um, that's when also like you mentioned that you would love
- 19:30to be part of your dream team.
- 19:31And I was like, yeah, well, you definitely have the pace.
- 19:33And I was like, yeah, well, you'd be a great addition.
- 19:36And you absolutely were, um, very happy to have you on the team for, uh, this race.
- 19:44Yeah, that's, uh, you know, a little bit tricky thing about iRacing.
- 19:48Yeah, when you're starting, you, you got like 1500, but you got a really good pace.
- 19:53And, uh, people just like, Oh, you're just 1.
- 19:555k driver.
- 19:57Like, you're not going to drive fast.
- 19:59Yeah, and then you're driving fast.
- 20:01It's really cool.
- 20:02But I'm pretty sure that Esmeralda going to gain iRacing, like, with no time.
- 20:06Um, here's a really interesting question, um, in the chat.
- 20:11It's a From, uh, from viewers, uh, were there any drummers, uh,
- 20:17drummers, uh, in the pit lane?
- 20:19Uh, you know, I saw one GT3 in our race, just, uh, uh, teammates, uh,
- 20:24that was Matt Loveridge, uh, who's also in the, uh, Olympus team.
- 20:29And, uh, when he was out, I was, uh, watching his stream and, uh, his
- 20:34teammates, uh, they were going and, uh, you know, here's the last lap.
- 20:39Almost, uh, next to the pit lane, uh, the guy who's driving, and teammates, like,
- 20:44shout, Go to pit lane, go to pit lane, because you almost miss it, and they,
- 20:49they get the spitting in pits, but he got into pit lane, that was, that was really
- 20:53crazy, so, uh, did you have Any, uh, did you have any, uh, experience like this?
- 20:59Was it pit lane?
- 21:00Maybe, uh, especially in the wet conditions, maybe, I don't
- 21:03know, some people missed the, uh, their pit stall, or maybe you had
- 21:07some, uh, funny moments as well?
- 21:11Yeah, I mean, by our smiling, you probably can guess that yes, we did have something.
- 21:15Um, so when the first rain hit, uh, we stayed out on
- 21:20dry ice for, um, quite a bit.
- 21:23And, uh, but then it started raining, like, more.
- 21:27And, um, we were like, okay, um, the lap times are getting significantly
- 21:31slower, so, um, we have to pit for wet.
- 21:35And then Sarah was in the car at the time, and, um, we were just like, you know,
- 21:41okay, like, we have, uh, I don't know, we had, just had a couple laps left in our
- 21:46stint anyway, so we were like, okay, we just pit, like, two, three laps early.
- 21:51And then she went on to, like, the apron, and, um, like, you know,
- 21:56normal pit entry, and started turning left, and the car didn't do anything.
- 22:00Oh no.
- 22:00And then, you know, she, she held this, and she was in this, like, absolute
- 22:03aqua planning, and was absolutely dead center straight, the car did not
- 22:08move at all, and then she was like, oh, she's gonna miss pit entry, well,
- 22:13okay, then we just do another lap.
- 22:14Steered right, nothing happened.
- 22:19And then, and then it's just like, okay, well, we passed it, like, we
- 22:22have to like, go back onto like, um, we were like, we're like, the
- 22:27grass already starts at the tri oval.
- 22:31And then, um, kind of tried to make it on track, obviously, without
- 22:34spinning or hitting other cars and getting in the way and stuff.
- 22:37And we actually had another team, um, message us, like, hey, Um, you're
- 22:41sliding around, you should pit.
- 22:43And then we just like text a bet, like, yeah, we tried, like we just missed you.
- 22:47We a upon straight
- 22:50. Um, that was kind of funny.
- 22:52And then next lap, um, we just managed, it was just like you had like this
- 22:56really long straight and wide line where like the water was completely standing.
- 23:01Mm-hmm . Uh, so you had to really like positively cross.
- 23:06like that puddle to really get grip again and to be able to number one
- 23:10steer and number two slow down.
- 23:13And, uh, yeah, then later in the race, uh, I think it was like
- 23:18around like sunrise or something.
- 23:21Um, we also had one problem where, uh, we had a driver change
- 23:27and I think it was Bitescale.
- 23:30I don't remember exactly.
- 23:31But, um, When you do a driver swap, the pit limiter turns off.
- 23:37It's on before, but like, since you get out of the car, which stops the engine,
- 23:41and then you get back into the car, that deactivates the pit limiter, obviously,
- 23:46and she went out on her first stint, and, um, Suddenly thought to herself like,
- 23:51Hmm, that's a bit fast for pit lane.
- 23:54And then Ori was like, Oh, pit limiter and slow down.
- 23:57But like, we already got like the, um, the drive through penalty for that then.
- 24:03Yeah, it happens.
- 24:04It didn't lose us any positions or something.
- 24:06That was, uh, during the time when we were already in P4 and just had
- 24:12like a comfortable, yeah, comfortable gap to the cars in front and behind.
- 24:16So it was fine.
- 24:17It didn't matter in the end, but, uh, it was kind of funny that, uh,
- 24:22We're just, uh, driving and then suddenly, oh, that's a bit fast.
- 24:27And I think, I think that was it for a pit lane, because since we
- 24:30had our echo planning at the start, um, we knew that, okay, pit entry
- 24:34is difficult and just take it easy.
- 24:37Make sure that you, you know, don't spin and that you slow down
- 24:40enough and that kind of stuff.
- 24:41Well, I mean, when, um, Bicycle.
- 24:44tried to clear the penalty, I think, from cutting the track
- 24:48because she slid onto the grass.
- 24:50Uh, she, like, she drove one lap more and then tried to go for pit lane and
- 24:56also failed to get into the pit lane.
- 24:59Oh, that was when I was sleeping.
- 25:01All right.
- 25:01Yeah.
- 25:01Yeah.
- 25:02So she went straight as well.
- 25:06I saw even, uh, like, in the top split, even people did that, so it was, uh,
- 25:11certainly, um, we weren't the only team who had to struggle with pit entry.
- 25:16No, and now I think of it, I, uh, like, you have, on pit
- 25:20exit, you have the little turn.
- 25:23Um, so I, I braked, uh, for the, that little turn, locked both front
- 25:30wheels and just slid out of the, out of the pit lane onto the track.
- 25:37So that got me a drive thru as well.
- 25:39Yeah.
- 25:40Yeah.
- 25:41But that's it for pit lane incidents.
- 25:43Overall, uh, Daytona pit enter is really tricky.
- 25:47I remember how I did, uh, oval race here with next gen cars.
- 25:51And I think we had really long race, like, um, I know, like
- 25:5680 laps or something like this.
- 25:57And we were going to, uh, to pit for a fuel, uh, with a pack of the cars.
- 26:02So I had like, uh, two or three cars, uh, ahead of me.
- 26:05We pitted together.
- 26:06And, uh, one guy, he, uh, in the last moment from outside line, he felt
- 26:11like, okay, I'm going to pit with you.
- 26:13guys.
- 26:13And, uh, you know, he just not in time.
- 26:15He just crossing my line.
- 26:17I looked up my front wheels and I just, uh, bowling the cars in front of
- 26:22me and we all go into the grass, you know, and then spinning in the pizza.
- 26:27Yeah.
- 26:27Even in, uh, you know, in dry conditions, uh, Daytona is not really easy to Pete's.
- 26:32And, uh, yeah, as people saying in chat also first up and did it twice.
- 26:36I, I think I saw that he missed the BitLane on Daytona 24 at this time.
- 26:42So if anything, we're just as good as F1 drivers.
- 26:45Yes, that's true.
- 26:49Um, stepping back a little bit from the main event, uh, how
- 26:54was, uh, preparing for you?
- 26:56So what did you do?
- 26:57Uh, how you, uh, managed to create the setup, which is, uh, comfortable
- 27:01for everybody in the team.
- 27:04That's the question to both of you.
- 27:06Yeah, so, uh, at first we just, uh, you know, obviously had like
- 27:11some meetings before where like, okay, what is like the rough plan?
- 27:15When is everyone available and here and there?
- 27:17And because like we had the weather forecast as well.
- 27:21And then, uh, uh, it was really nice because, uh, pretty much
- 27:25everyone was available whenever it was the easiest planning I've
- 27:29done ever for an endurance race.
- 27:31And, um, Yeah, and then we just started, uh, doing some labs.
- 27:35We looked at, like, we all have, like, the same conditions, kind of, roughly,
- 27:40and then, uh, had, I think, four different setup shops, uh, like, setups from
- 27:45different setup shops, and we're just, uh, trying all of them out, see, okay, um,
- 27:51which one do we like best, which one is fast, and then we found one that everyone
- 27:56was, like, already pretty comfortable with, and then Yeah, just, uh, changed,
- 28:02like, some, some slight things on it.
- 28:04Uh, we didn't change it a lot, but, uh, what did we change?
- 28:09We changed, like, um, the diff a little bit, um, just for, you know,
- 28:13it being more stable and secure.
- 28:17And then also, like, I think the third spring and the heave spring,
- 28:21uh, just for control in the bus stop, basically, because, uh, Again, we didn't
- 28:27want to go for like absolute speed.
- 28:29We wanted to go for consistency and definitely controllability.
- 28:34And yeah, once we had that, then we just, uh, drove in different
- 28:39conditions, um, made sure that the setup also works in the wet, for example,
- 28:44which is obviously very important.
- 28:47And uh, yeah, had a couple of very nice training sessions together.
- 28:50It was nice.
- 28:51And, uh, Yeah, try to get everyone's input and, uh, find
- 28:57something that fits everyone.
- 28:59That's awesome.
- 29:00Maybe you can also, uh, add to that, Esmeralda, how it felt for you.
- 29:04I don't know how much, how much like practice for endurance,
- 29:08endurance events you had before.
- 29:10Can't speak.
- 29:12Uh, yeah, I mean,
- 29:16it depends.
- 29:17On Daytona, I had quite a lot of experience because I've
- 29:20been doing the 24 hour event.
- 29:23I think this is my fourth time doing it.
- 29:27Um.
- 29:28So, yeah, but obviously with the new tire update, the car is completely different.
- 29:34Um, and then I practiced more for this one, I think.
- 29:40Uh, because, you know, I wanted to be quick enough.
- 29:43Um, and well, yeah, setup wise, I just left it to you guys.
- 29:48Because, you know, I'm not that great with setups, I'll be completely
- 29:52honest about that, I'm clueless.
- 29:54Um, so yeah, I tried the different setups, and they all felt okay, this
- 30:00one felt, for me, as the best one.
- 30:03And thankfully for everyone, so yeah, it was, I mean, yeah.
- 30:08Not too much to add, sorry.
- 30:11Yeah, that's fine.
- 30:11Also like, like I, for example, was I think the only one who preferred
- 30:16a different setup initially.
- 30:18But I also mainly drive the F4 usually, which is kind of
- 30:21like happy on the rear axle.
- 30:23So I'm, I'm really used to a car that is very like loose or like
- 30:29oversteering that kind of thing.
- 30:31And, um, but then it was also like, uh, okay, I'm fine with driving.
- 30:36Different, like, driving style.
- 30:37I had to change, like, my pedal input slightly for that to, uh, get back to
- 30:43the pace, but, uh, it was definitely fine, and I was happy to, yeah, change my
- 30:49little part for the team effort so that everyone's comfortable with the setup.
- 30:54Yeah, also, you know, just, uh, let everybody choose the set
- 30:57and decide what to do with it.
- 30:59Uh, so just like guys, you just share a set with me.
- 31:02I'm going to get used to it.
- 31:04So I don't really care about setups because I usually drive, you know,
- 31:09Porsche Cops series, for example, and I'm driving the open set where a car,
- 31:12uh, more loose and I'm driving the.
- 31:14Fix it said, uh, where a car a bit more in the series.
- 31:18So just, uh, kind of adopt my driving to it.
- 31:20And, um, it's usually for me, uh, really easy to drive and endurance is
- 31:25because I'm like, I'm, I'm going to be okay with whatever said you're driving.
- 31:29So, uh, because you know, some people just prefer a little bit more in the
- 31:33Syria because it's a little bit more safe kind of, so if they feel okay with this,
- 31:39I'm like, all right, let's go for it.
- 31:44So, uh, what plans do you have with Dream Team, uh, for this year?
- 31:48So maybe some more special events and, uh, so what, what
- 31:53is your plans for the future?
- 31:58Um, I don't know the exact, um, events by heart, uh, that you guys, uh, wanted to
- 32:04do, especially like Sarah and Esmeralda.
- 32:06Uh, Because, like, I have to, like, see a little bit how many, like, what
- 32:11weekends I'm free next year, because I will probably spend, like, uh, some
- 32:16weekends at the Nordschleife, uh, yeah, I'm gonna update on that, like, as soon
- 32:22as that's more, like, ready and stuff, but, uh, I will probably spend, uh, quite
- 32:28some weekends where I'm not available, also the, um, IVRA, Season, like,
- 32:34continues in February, in about a month.
- 32:37So, um, that's also when I have, like, my weekends, where I do, like,
- 32:43race control, and where I'm just, like, occupied with other stuff.
- 32:47So, uh, but there are a couple races.
- 32:50That we definitely can do together and, um, for the others, especially if
- 32:56it's like a shorter one, like a four hour or six hour, um, we don't need
- 33:01like four drivers for that, you know, so it's absolutely fine if, um, Sarah
- 33:06and Esmeralda do it, like, maybe just the two of them, or maybe also ByteSkid
- 33:10can join them for, like, something.
- 33:12It just depends, like, when we have time.
- 33:14But Esmeralda, if you know exactly, like, what races you want to do.
- 33:18Well, I know that.
- 33:20The three of us all filled in Sebring,
- 33:25so that's the first one that we're gonna do.
- 33:28I don't think Bice will be there, but I'd have to confirm.
- 33:32Um, so that's the first thing that we're gonna do as a team.
- 33:38That will be Sebring, the 12 hours of Sebring.
- 33:41And then I wouldn't know about the rest of the calendar.
- 33:44I'm trying to get everyone to drive Spa, but I'm the only one that wants to.
- 33:54Why don't you want to drive Spa, Nina?
- 33:58Um, well, it's, it's more that I don't really enjoy GT3s that much.
- 34:04That's more the thing.
- 34:05Um, it's just, uh, I don't know, uh, the car in iRacing, I'm just not.
- 34:12that well connected to the road in them.
- 34:15Uh, it's hard to describe a little bit, but, um, for the limited
- 34:20time that I've spent in ACC, for example, it just felt more natural
- 34:25to me there, how the GT3s drive.
- 34:27Um, but yeah, it's definitely something that, I can get used to.
- 34:31So, uh, I'll just have to see again if, if I'm free that
- 34:36weekend and that kind of stuff.
- 34:38And, uh, maybe it's also just a nice challenge to drive something that I'm
- 34:43not that comfortable with and just, you know, see how it goes and maybe
- 34:48see that as like a little bit more of a, of a challenge to really like, um,
- 34:52I don't think I'm that great in that car, but let's still try to be fast.
- 34:56So.
- 34:57Yeah, that maybe can be a good challenge for you.
- 35:00Also, a funny thing that you just said about ACC and it's
- 35:05a completely opposite for me.
- 35:06So I just, I can't drive GT3s in ACC.
- 35:09I'm really comfortable with them when they're racing.
- 35:13So yeah, it's really funny.
- 35:16So you said that you prefer more prototypes.
- 35:19Yeah, GT3 is a little bit different.
- 35:21I also, you know, prefer more Porsche Cup over the GT3s, but for SPA24, yeah,
- 35:27I'll be happy to drive this event because it's, we got a new version of SPA also.
- 35:32It's going to be really fun to drive here.
- 35:35I think it's, it will be great.
- 35:37Um, speaking about Sebring 12 hours, are you planning to use the LMP2 again?
- 35:41Or maybe give it a try to GTP cars or something like this?
- 35:48Well, for me, I love the LMP2.
- 35:50It's my second favorite car in iRacing, the first one just being the F4, my baby.
- 35:56And, um, I love the LMP2 as well, though.
- 35:59Uh, but yeah, uh, GTP might be a thing.
- 36:02The reason why we didn't go for that, um, this race was because you
- 36:06have a lot more setup options and Also like in car settings, you know,
- 36:12stuff that, um, you have to be aware of and have to know how to use it.
- 36:16Like the whole hybrid system and then like the in car ABR, um, anti roll bar changes
- 36:22that you can do and that kind of stuff.
- 36:24Uh, so it's definitely cool and interesting.
- 36:27Uh, it's just, uh, quite a bit more complex.
- 36:30So, um, in my opinion, we just would need a bit more of preparation time.
- 36:37And that's basically what it comes down to.
- 36:39Uh, How much like preparing we have, uh, I wouldn't mind driving GTPs again,
- 36:45as I said, like GT3, I'd rather not, and LMP2 is just something that I can
- 36:51quite easily jump into and be reasonably quick with, uh, rather quickly.
- 36:57Awesome.
- 36:57Uh, Ms.
- 36:58Muraldo, what do you think about this?
- 36:59Would you like to drive GTPs?
- 37:02Well, we considered the idea and I think Nina might have forgotten, but we talked
- 37:09about it for like 10 seconds, I think.
- 37:11And Sarah also agreed that we just do it in the LMP2, because the GTPs are,
- 37:16at this time, it's just too much work.
- 37:19Um, but I'm definitely interested in doing some events with the GTP, but
- 37:25also I have maybe 10 labs in a GTP.
- 37:28I own one, but Like, in, in iRacing, before you faint
- 37:33behind me in real life, I want.
- 37:35Um, but I, I have driven ten laps, maybe, so, I mean, I first have to
- 37:41get a lot of practice in, and then see if it's really as fun as it sounds.
- 37:46Yeah, I found it for myself.
- 37:48So that was my second Daytona 24 with a GTP car.
- 37:52First one I did was a TRS Esports and we did with BMW.
- 37:58There was only one GTP this time and uh, Beams Audio was a little bit understeering
- 38:03for me and we drove Ferrari this time.
- 38:06It was a really good balanced car, so I really like it.
- 38:09And in my opinion, it's, uh, you know, not that complicated as LMP1, uh, which,
- 38:16which we had, uh, were, uh, before.
- 38:19And I think you should give it a try.
- 38:22If you're going to have, like, you know, more time for preparation, I think
- 38:26you can handle this car pretty well if you're driving LMP2 in a nice way.
- 38:31So they're really close with how you're driving them on the track.
- 38:37So yeah, I think it's worth a try.
- 38:41Yeah, definitely.
- 38:42Like, trying, definitely.
- 38:44One more thing I also just thought of in this conversation was, I do enjoy
- 38:49Being in the middle class in endurance races or at least not the fastest or
- 38:53the slowest because then you just have You have like cars to overtake of other
- 38:59classes, but you also get this like hey you have faster cars approaching
- 39:03you have to you know See how to deal with faster traffic, and I just enjoy
- 39:09that that you have like you know both sides of the Yeah, that's interesting.
- 39:16Um, because when you're in middle class, uh, yeah, you, you just let go of someone
- 39:21and you're overtaking the GT3 class.
- 39:23If you're in GT3 class, you just let go everybody all the time.
- 39:27It's, it can be a little bit annoying sometimes.
- 39:30In GTPs, you're just, uh, driving and praying like, uh, I hope I'm not going
- 39:35to kill anyone like GD3 or LMP2, so yeah.
- 39:40So yeah, as a faster class, it's always like, I hope they see me.
- 39:43And then, um, obviously, like, you know, you expect the slower classes
- 39:48to just keep their racing line.
- 39:50And then, um, not to somehow like jump out of your way in the last second,
- 39:54because That's when you also change your lane to overtake them and then two cars,
- 39:59two cars going for the same piece of tarmac is usually not a good combination.
- 40:05Yeah, you know, funny thing that a couple of times I almost crash
- 40:10GT3s because in the last moment, so you just predicting that they will
- 40:13go and follow their racing line.
- 40:16And then last moment, they're like, Oh, I should let go of this GTP and they like
- 40:20switching the line to the opposite side.
- 40:22I'm like, Oh, no.
- 40:24That was, uh, really, um, you know, really scary to crash the GT3 because
- 40:30every time you, like, uh, crashing them, they're so angry because they're like,
- 40:35oh, that's GTP again, that's prototypes.
- 40:39Yeah, like I always like for, um, endurance races or like multi
- 40:44class races, um, what I like to do is to, um, I don't know, often a
- 40:48streamer or like somebody look at like a couple laps of other classes.
- 40:53So I know, um, what like their normal laps look like.
- 40:58And, um, also maybe where they are grip limited because maybe one, one of the
- 41:04corner is very understeer for a GT3.
- 41:07So, um, that way, if I'm in a faster class, I know that probably on the exit
- 41:12of this, where they are understeer.
- 41:14I shouldn't overtake on the outside, but I should rather just cut back
- 41:17and overtake on the inside because they're grip limited anyway.
- 41:21So, um, I try to just, uh, preactive, preactively, proactively, uh, try
- 41:28to avoid like being in difficult situations for both of the cars.
- 41:33That's really good advice.
- 41:35I think for people who's thinking about endurance races.
- 41:38Uh, so for myself, uh, what I did, I tried to drive in GT3s and then
- 41:44in prototypes on the same track.
- 41:45So you, uh, kind of see then, uh, where, where to expect, uh, LMPs
- 41:51in coming, uh, being GT3 class.
- 41:53And, uh, as a prototype, you like already know that you.
- 41:57Can't overtake here, uh, because you're already so, uh, being in GT3, uh,
- 42:03where LMP is, uh, incoming for you.
- 42:05So, yeah, I think that's a good thing.
- 42:07Also that you can watch maybe replay instead of jumping to the car.
- 42:11Maybe you're going to need more time to adapt to race it.
- 42:16Uh, so just.
- 42:17Jump into replay and just see where, uh, people overtaken most of the
- 42:21time and where, uh, as you said, GT3s, uh, have had, like, more
- 42:27understeer or something like this.
- 42:28And I think that's a good thing.
- 42:31Um, so we got, uh, I said, of course, uh, Evo, which just, uh, came out to
- 42:38early access and, uh, you just said that you tried it on SimRacing Xbox.
- 42:43Can you give me some, uh, like emotions, which you had, uh, your feedback about it.
- 42:50Do you like it?
- 42:51That's a question to Nina and Esmeralda.
- 42:53Not sure if Esmeralda, uh, tried it, uh, but yeah, I'm really curious about this.
- 43:01Um, me or you?
- 43:05I mean, you go first.
- 43:06Uh, so yeah, we, like, first off, we both tried it, um, we, since we had, like, an
- 43:12exhibitor pass for the CIM Expo, it was really nice because we could just, uh, on
- 43:18the evening of, like, the second to last, uh, day, we just went over to the stand
- 43:23that had AC Evo on, and we're like, hey, Nice We're working on this and that stand
- 43:28and would it be possible tomorrow morning?
- 43:30Um, because we had an hour before it officially opens.
- 43:34Um, if maybe like tomorrow morning we can already try it before
- 43:38people come in because obviously we were there for, like, to work.
- 43:42So, uh, we didn't really get much time to walk around all of the stands.
- 43:47And, uh, but yeah, it was nice because, uh, just before, like, it opened for
- 43:52everyone, we just Um, could try it for a little and, uh, didn't have to
- 43:56wait in line forever and, uh, yeah.
- 44:00So, uh, I don't know how much has changed since then because, uh, since it came
- 44:04out, I had Daytona to do and then, uh, also this week some other stuff.
- 44:08So I haven't played it on my own rig, uh, yet.
- 44:12But from what it felt like on the SimExpo, it was really a nice, uh, how do you say?
- 44:20It's not as much like a sim.
- 44:23As I racing, for example, but it's also way more advanced than
- 44:28just like an arcade or something.
- 44:30It's a it's a really good blend, in my opinion, of a realistic feeling car, but
- 44:34also it's approachable for new people who.
- 44:38Want to get into this but, um, want something that's just more
- 44:42than, like, Forza or Gran Turismo.
- 44:46Uh, to be fair, I haven't driven Gran Turismo, so, but like, from
- 44:50what it looks like, it seems a bit more on the arcade side.
- 44:54Uh, but yeah, uh, it felt nice.
- 44:56It really felt, uh, like, the feedback that I was getting from the car felt,
- 45:01uh, As I said, not entirely real, but definitely predictable, and kind of
- 45:07like what I would expect from a car.
- 45:09So Yeah, I think, um, when they bring out the full game and everything, uh,
- 45:14it's probably gonna be, uh, a really nice game to just spend some time on.
- 45:20Mm hmm.
- 45:21So what about you, Esmeralda?
- 45:23Well, it's, um, not too much to add, I think.
- 45:27Um, so the last time I did a set of Corsair, it's been a
- 45:33while, especially when I was at the Expo, it had been a while.
- 45:37Um, so it feels very different compared to iRacing.
- 45:43Um, for me personally, I prefer the way iRacing handles GT three.
- 45:50Um, but I think it felt pretty good.
- 45:55It's, it's just weird, like the, the thing, the car slides so much
- 46:00and I'm trying to make sense of the feedback I was getting, but I
- 46:04couldn't really make sense of it.
- 46:06But I think that's just because for me, it's been so long since I did ACC, uh, and
- 46:11I've completely gotten used to iRacing.
- 46:14So, like, I don't have an opinion on it yet.
- 46:19I don't know if I'm gonna get it because iRacing is my sole focus right now.
- 46:23Um, but yeah, it's still an early access.
- 46:27There's still a lot that can change and I've heard it was open world
- 46:30as well, which sounds awesome.
- 46:32But also, I think Nina is right, that it's a blend between arcade and sim racing.
- 46:38Yeah, maybe.
- 46:39Oh, sorry.
- 46:40No, go ahead.
- 46:42Um, maybe to add a little bit to it, again, it's, um, iRacing is usually
- 46:46quite good on, like, race tires.
- 46:49Uh, so, from the, um, like, from the little bit of, like, race cars that
- 46:55I've driven in real life as well, um, That's how I always compare my stuff
- 47:01to, like, when I drive iRacing, and that feels very natural, especially
- 47:04in, like, formula cars or something.
- 47:06Um, and Seta Corsa and also AC Evo, uh, I think what they do quite well is
- 47:13simulate, like, street tires on a circuit, where, um, you just don't have this,
- 47:18like, absolute, like, Peak performance of a tire or something, but you have a
- 47:23tire that just, um, that's more like a street tire, you know, you have way more
- 47:28of like a gradual loss of friction and like grip and race tires are usually you
- 47:34have way more grip, but once the grip is gone, it's also like, uh, it's way.
- 47:40you have way more or way less margin from grip to no grip, whereas street
- 47:46tire is more like a bit more gradual from like peak grip to you're absolutely
- 47:51like under steering or something.
- 47:53Uh, what combo did you try?
- 47:55Like car and trek?
- 47:56Uh, do you try like different or there was the only one combo for everybody?
- 48:02No, we tried, uh, or like, I tried some, I think it was a Porsche Cup
- 48:07at, or Porsche GT three at Ola.
- 48:11And uh, another one was like, I think it was like an alpine at.
- 48:17Was it Brands Hatch or something?
- 48:19I don't, I don't quite remember, uh, but definitely like
- 48:22some Porsche at, uh, Imola.
- 48:24Mm hmm.
- 48:26Uh, what about I, I wouldn't know.
- 48:28I, I can't remember.
- 48:30Uh, I don't even know the track.
- 48:32But I think it was, I don't think it was Imola.
- 48:38I can't remember.
- 48:39I've certainly driven Imola.
- 48:41Like there were a couple of different, um, things to try.
- 48:44I don't know if you tried like the same stuff as I do, because on the
- 48:48Semiaxplorer it was like pre configured.
- 48:50Like you had a choice of like three or four different combinations.
- 48:55And then it was like Porsche Cup at Imola and the next one was like Alpine
- 49:01in the wet at this and that track and then you had Oh, I don't know, BMW 1
- 49:05Series at this and that or something.
- 49:07So I drove in the wet.
- 49:09I know that for sure.
- 49:10I don't know exactly like the combinations anymore, but like
- 49:13it was something like that.
- 49:15You just had to pick one of the combinations.
- 49:18And, uh, I tried two of those combinations.
- 49:20I don't know if you Like switched over as well, but, uh, it's,
- 49:25it's been a while since, so like, don't worry if you don't remember.
- 49:30Yeah, so I tried it on Early Access, uh, like a couple of days ago on my own
- 49:34rig, uh, with my, uh, Direct Drive T818.
- 49:38It felt really good, so you saying that it's like, uh, something between
- 49:42Arcade and Simulator, I would say that, like, For now, for me, it
- 49:46feels like, uh, more like iRacing.
- 49:49So, uh, it's really close with, uh, Helm Breakin So I decided to,
- 49:54uh, go with Porsche Cup at Laguna Seca because I did it recently
- 49:57in iRacing, not a long time ago.
- 50:00And It felt really good, uh, in, in terms that we had some kind of, uh, so base
- 50:05set up in AC Evo, uh, it felt, uh, almost the same as in a racing, uh, in terms
- 50:12of, uh, how I'm breaking, uh, what, uh, force I'm implying to the brake pedal and,
- 50:18uh, overall how car feels on the track.
- 50:20It was great.
- 50:21Uh, can't tell anything about street cars, so we tried a few
- 50:25cars like Ford Escort and, uh.
- 50:28I think Alfa Romeo Giulia, um, and I tried also BMW M2, which we got in a
- 50:35racing, uh, in rookie class right now.
- 50:38And it felt also really close to what we got in the racing.
- 50:42And it was really cool to see that on low settings and graphics and
- 50:46everything, uh, it looks decent.
- 50:49So I think.
- 50:50That, uh, AC Evo going to be a good entry point for, uh, some people,
- 50:56uh, especially that it's, uh, you know, more open to everybody.
- 50:59Like, uh, as you said, uh, here's, uh, some, uh, some cars with a
- 51:04street tires and maybe some people, uh, can be interested in them, uh,
- 51:08because they driving their own cars on the racing tracks and, uh, you
- 51:12know, just would like to drive, uh, their cars in, in the seam as well.
- 51:18And so yeah, I think that's going to be a great addition and for now just
- 51:22feel like it's closer to our racing than to ACC, which is I'm happy with.
- 51:28And, uh, yes, performance, not the best, uh, in terms of FPS, but I'm
- 51:33pretty sure they're going to, um.
- 51:36Like improve it after some time, uh, and it should be a really interesting,
- 51:41um, addition to our sim racing world.
- 51:46Yeah, it sounds like, oh, sorry.
- 51:49It sounds like it changed quite a bit since that we tried it.
- 51:54Um, so in that regard, obviously we, when was it?
- 51:59I think October?
- 52:00Yeah, it was like in October.
- 52:02And, um, so like I think mid of October.
- 52:05And also what I wanted to add, uh, keep in mind that we, at the SimExpo,
- 52:09we just tried it with some rig that was set up like somehow, and we
- 52:14didn't spend that much time on it.
- 52:16And, um, and also when I, when I said it's like between Sim and Arcade.
- 52:21Uh, to be fair, I'm comparing it to iRacing, which I find usually quite
- 52:26realistic, and, like, Gran Turismo 7, uh, which is also, like, pretty realistic,
- 52:33uh, but, you know, like, more on the arcade side, so it's definitely more
- 52:37on the iRacing side, um, and, like, it's definitely nowhere in the terms
- 52:42of, like, arcade, like, Need for Speed.
- 52:45That's not what I meant when I said arcade, just to, like, clarify.
- 52:48It's definitely Uh, close to a simulator and, um, yeah, from what we drove, um, I
- 52:54bet they have improved a lot since then.
- 52:57Yeah, so, uh, maybe I said, of course, uh, EO will be, uh, I said, of course,
- 53:01which I'm going to drive and, uh, like with community, maybe if we're going
- 53:05to have some kind of events here, um, like maybe championships, I'll
- 53:09be, uh, happy to drive it because I really like it from the first try.
- 53:13Uh, yes, it's, it's, uh, completely different as you said, uh, to trying,
- 53:17uh, the new simulator on your own rig because you got your own settings.
- 53:21Uh, like I'm aware that I have to turn off the, you know, all this effects like
- 53:26spring on all the stuff, uh, they can be, uh, on, on events, uh, because just, uh,
- 53:32I don't know, guys just, uh, set up, uh, like the, something base for everybody,
- 53:37um, so yeah, just, uh, highly recommend to everybody to try it on their own rigs,
- 53:42I think, uh, you're going to like it, and, uh, open world is really interesting
- 53:46and, uh, not sure how it's, uh, going to be in the game, um, but, uh, I'm so
- 53:53excited to see it, uh, in the future.
- 53:57All right.
- 53:57And, uh, we'd like to ask, uh, about what is your own plans, Nina and Esmeralda?
- 54:05So outside of the Dream Team, what, what's your plans for 2025, like in a
- 54:10racing or in other simulators as well?
- 54:15Um, yeah, for me, it's, uh, I definitely want to do some, uh, events with Olympus
- 54:20again, since, uh, I have, like, lately I really haven't, uh, driven a lot with
- 54:26the team, uh, which I, you know, I want to spend time with them again, because
- 54:30I'm also way more active again on the Discord, and, uh, I just miss driving
- 54:35with the guys, and, uh, yeah, it's always, uh, And, uh, so like probably
- 54:43the 24 hours of Nordschleife is something that I'm going to do with them again.
- 54:47But I'll, I'll see how availability is and here and there.
- 54:51And, uh, so who knows, maybe I'm also doing it with Dream Team.
- 54:56It's certainly a race that I want to do.
- 54:58And, uh, yeah, apart from that, there are just a couple of different, uh,
- 55:04things on iRacing that I want to Uh, be part of like some events from other
- 55:10organizations or companies that I want to just give a go and just see how well
- 55:14I compare against people who do that.
- 55:17And yeah, and also, uh, outside of like sim racing itself, as I said,
- 55:22I'm probably going to spend a couple of weekends, uh, in the next season
- 55:26at like a track in real life and, uh, not necessarily as driving, but.
- 55:32We'll, we'll see.
- 55:33We'll get to that one once that's there.
- 55:35And, uh, yeah.
- 55:39All right.
- 55:39Uh, what about you, Esmeralda?
- 55:40What's your plans in sim racing?
- 55:42Maybe in your real life as well.
- 55:45So what, what's your planning for 2025?
- 55:49In real life, um, like racing related, I'm not planning anything at all.
- 55:55Um, Yeah, my focus right now is on sim racing.
- 56:00Um, and then yeah, I haven't figured out yet what exactly I'm going to do,
- 56:07but we've got, um, buffers coming up, which I'm not sure if I'm going to,
- 56:13but I might do it with my own team.
- 56:16And then for all the special events that we're not doing with the dream
- 56:20team, I might do it with my own team.
- 56:22And then we've also got some other, uh, endurance races coming up.
- 56:28that are not part of the special events that I might do with my own team.
- 56:31And, yeah, it's not anything exciting, but, you know,
- 56:38there are plans outside of the Dream Team.
- 56:41Yeah, I hope you're going to enjoy some races with Dream Team.
- 56:44Uh, from my side, I will do some events with Olympus Esports, uh, that
- 56:48definitely will be, uh, special events like Sebring 12 Hours and, like, Spot 24.
- 56:54Uh, some other events as well.
- 56:56Um, And I think we're going to continue the championship in the EVRA club sport.
- 57:02Um, so probably I'm going to do a couple of rounds in it.
- 57:05I'm so excited about this to drive Porsche Cup once again.
- 57:10Um, here's a, another one question from the chat.
- 57:13It's really interesting, I think.
- 57:15Um, so as we've been talking about AC Evo, uh, so people asking, uh, Where
- 57:21can you place the ACC, like, uh, where it stands between iRacing and AC Evo,
- 57:28uh, or, like, other simulators, uh, GT7?
- 57:32So, for me, I think ACC is, uh, completely different, in my opinion,
- 57:36uh, than iRacing, like, uh, it feels a bit Weird for me when I'm
- 57:40trying to drive the GT3s in ACC.
- 57:43I don't know why, uh, but I found it really hard to, you know, um, just
- 57:48transfer my driving skills, my knowledge and everything from my racing to ACC.
- 57:54So usually I'm struggling, uh, quite a lot with brakes, uh, compared to our racing.
- 57:58You have to really push brakes hard and, you know, it took.
- 58:02long time to get used to it.
- 58:05So how is it for you, Nina?
- 58:07How do you feel in ACC after racing?
- 58:12Yeah, so like, I don't have that much experience in ACC.
- 58:16I have like, 100 hours or something.
- 58:20And like, 80 of them is like, What I spend, like, continuously,
- 58:25like, really trying to get, like, good laps in here and there.
- 58:29So, um, it's, it's very different how you have to use your pedals.
- 58:34So, it's very difficult to, like, just simply switch between them.
- 58:40I had to really, like, re learn, uh, how to use the brake, just as you said.
- 58:45Uh, and then it took me, like, I don't know, probably like really like 10 or
- 58:5120 hours to like properly figure it out.
- 58:54And then I had the same issue going back to iRacing again.
- 58:56So, uh, also like the feedback you get through the wheel is quite different,
- 59:00because iRacing only gives you the forces that, um, you have like in a
- 59:05real steering column, whereas, uh, ACC also gives you, I think, some chassis
- 59:10feedback and that kind of thing.
- 59:12Uh, You know, which is, it's just a bit of a different approach, uh, it's, um,
- 59:20from what I felt, is that, uh, on ACC, I can understand way more what the tire
- 59:27is doing, in terms of like slip angle, and also how the assist systems work,
- 59:32so like, uh, traction control and ABS.
- 59:36And then iRacing, uh, especially like GT3s, just feel a bit disconnected to me,
- 59:43but I'm also, again, I'm not that good on GT3s anyway, uh, so, who am I to judge?
- 59:51But, um, yeah, so, uh, it's, it's just a bit of a different approach, um.
- 1:00:01Yeah, Esmerelda, what do you think about ACC?
- 1:00:04If you tried it, I'm not really sure in this.
- 1:00:07Oh no.
- 1:00:07Yeah, I, I think 500 hours in a CC 'cause, um, mm-hmm.
- 1:00:12I used to do the more female racers, uh, series.
- 1:00:17Um,
- 1:00:21I think it's really difficult to give feedback, uh, 'cause in a CC I'm
- 1:00:29a lot slower than I am at iRacing.
- 1:00:31Um, a lot's got to do with the braking, which I never really figured
- 1:00:36out in a CCI, I dunno why it's just.
- 1:00:40Um, because you know, I can definitely trailbrake and in iRacing it's all fine.
- 1:00:45But in ACC it's the breaking zone where I lose out every single time.
- 1:00:50And I've looked at telemetry.
- 1:00:52A whole lot of times, but to, you know, get it right every
- 1:00:56time, it's just so difficult.
- 1:00:59Well, in iRacing, for me, it comes naturally.
- 1:01:02Um, and then there's the sliding.
- 1:01:05In ACC, I am sliding everywhere.
- 1:01:08The rear is just wiggling the whole lap.
- 1:01:11And, you know, I'm trying to go on onto the throttle as soon as I think
- 1:01:16I can, but it's just every time it's too soon, and I go sliding again.
- 1:01:21So.
- 1:01:22I can definitely drive an ACC and I'm maybe reasonably quick or just slow.
- 1:01:31I'm not really quick, at least.
- 1:01:33So yeah, um, and where I put it between AC Evo and iRacing, it depends.
- 1:01:42If, if what you said is all correct, then ACC is definitely at the bottom.
- 1:01:50But as I tried ACEvo, it kind of felt the same as ACC with the sliding and stuff.
- 1:01:56So, yeah.
- 1:01:59With what you said, with the changes, then I'd probably say Gran Turismo 7, and then
- 1:02:05ACC, and then AC Evo, and then iRacing.
- 1:02:09And then iRacing would be the most realistic.
- 1:02:13Yeah, as you said, I think I'm with you in this, so you said like,
- 1:02:17driving and racing, um, just Coming naturally, uh, compared to ACC.
- 1:02:25So ACC feels a bit weird for me.
- 1:02:27It was breaking with everything.
- 1:02:29So it's really hard.
- 1:02:32Excuse me.
- 1:02:35Um, so yeah, uh, girls, it was really fun to speak with you.
- 1:02:40That's the first time we had any talks with two guests.
- 1:02:43It was really fun.
- 1:02:44Thank you so much for being here and I wish you good luck for 2025
- 1:02:48with racing events, with everything.
- 1:02:50And, uh, I hope it will be good for us, uh, less crashes, uh,
- 1:02:55more podiums and, uh, fun racing.
- 1:02:58Thank you so much.
- 1:03:00Yeah, same to you.
- 1:03:01Thank you.
- 1:03:02Thank you for hosting.
- 1:03:03Okay, guys, uh, thank you so much for watching.
- 1:03:06Uh, we'll see you on next N8 Talks.
- 1:03:08Bye bye.
