- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now, here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews thirteen eight. Today,
- 1:51Speaker 2: we want to review the reasons for our particular study
- 1:58Speaker 2: on being wholly armed, or if you will, understanding what
- 2:06Speaker 2: it means to be holy or fully armed? Why do
- 2:13Speaker 2: we need the armor of God? Now in the King
- 2:19Speaker 2: James version. It gives an example in the teaching that
- 2:25Speaker 2: Paul has made to the church at Ephesus, which carries
- 2:29Speaker 2: through to all believers. Ephesians chapter six and verses eleven
- 2:35Speaker 2: through eighteen. It says, put on the whole armor of God,
- 2:42Speaker 2: that you may be able to stand against the wiles
- 2:45Speaker 2: of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
- 2:54Speaker 2: darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore,
- 3:01Speaker 2: take unto you the whole armor of God, that you
- 3:04Speaker 2: may be able to withstand in the evil day. And
- 3:08Speaker 2: having done all to stand, stand therefore having your loins
- 3:14Speaker 2: skirt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel
- 3:22Speaker 2: of Peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith
- 3:26Speaker 2: you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts
- 3:30Speaker 2: of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and
- 3:34Speaker 2: the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
- 3:46Speaker 2: and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
- 3:54Speaker 2: The scripture clearly states that in order for us to
- 4:01Speaker 2: make disciples of others, teaching them to obey everything that
- 4:08Speaker 2: Jesus has commanded, then we are to demonstrate the whole
- 4:15Speaker 2: armor of God by totally surrendering our life to Christ
- 4:21Speaker 2: and allowing him to empower and equip us for the
- 4:27Speaker 2: work of ministry. There's a passage in the chapter of
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Book of Ephesians, in chapter four that shows the
- 4:40Speaker 2: need for this particular type of empowering and equipping, and
- 4:47Speaker 2: it states here and he gave some apostles, some prophets,
- 4:52Speaker 2: some evangelists, some pastors, and some teachers, for the perfecting
- 4:58Speaker 2: of the saints, for the world of the ministry, for
- 5:02Speaker 2: the edifying of the Body of Christ, till we all
- 5:07Speaker 2: come in the unity of the faith and of the
- 5:10Speaker 2: knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
- 5:16Speaker 2: unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of
- 5:21Speaker 2: Christ that is found in Ephesians chapter four and verses
- 5:26Speaker 2: eleven through thirteen. So as we have asked the question
- 5:33Speaker 2: and we illustrated the armor of God. In our previous
- 5:39Speaker 2: message we talked about why we need to be fully armed.
- 5:48Speaker 2: We're going to begin a series which is entitled War
- 5:54Speaker 2: and Victory the Christian Fight of Faith. This series is
- 6:01Speaker 2: based on a book which was written several years ago
- 6:09Speaker 2: by myself as the author, but I do not take
- 6:14Speaker 2: credit for its content. I really believe that this book
- 6:19Speaker 2: was given as an instruction to both myself and to
- 6:24Speaker 2: other believers who wanted to learn how to fight the
- 6:31Speaker 2: Christian Fight of faith.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us you've been listening to
- 6:39Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard K. You can hear
- 6:42Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as
- 6:45Speaker 1: Richard's entire archive at Talknetwork Radio dot com. We would
- 6:50Speaker 1: like to acknowledge our theme song, how Great Is Thy
- 6:52Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album and
- 6:57Speaker 1: let's otherwise express. Scriptures are read from the Homan Christian
- 7:01Speaker 1: Standard Bible, which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 7:10Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 7:14Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 7:18Speaker 1: to wrap up. Today's message.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You see that today there are many people who believe
- 7:27Speaker 2: that we are not supposed to fight, We're not supposed
- 7:33Speaker 2: to resist. But our battle is not with flesh and blood, folks,
- 7:40Speaker 2: it's not with men. It's not with the creation of man.
- 7:49Speaker 2: It is with the enemy of man. And in our
- 7:55Speaker 2: forthcoming segments, we are going to evaluate and discuss all
- 8:03Speaker 2: of the reasons for us to be armed, prepared, and
- 8:11Speaker 2: ready to fight. We need to know that when we
- 8:17Speaker 2: are instructed to put on the whole armor of God,
- 8:21Speaker 2: it is for battle, and so we need to understand
- 8:27Speaker 2: who the battle is with and why we are able
- 8:32Speaker 2: to be victorious. Put on the whole armor of God,
- 8:38Speaker 2: that you will be able to stand against the wiles
- 8:42Speaker 2: of the devil again Ephesians six, verse eleven. Today's reflection
- 8:51Speaker 2: will begin our series War and Victory, the Christian Fight
- 9:00Speaker 2: of faith, and that is today's reflection on the work.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 9:10Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the work of
- 9:12Speaker 1: Richard k or Richard the entire team. This is Chuck
- 9:16Speaker 1: Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition of Reflections
