- 0:25Well, hey guys, good evening, or should I
- 0:28say good morning, I know it's a little
- 0:29bit late here.
- 0:30It's been a really fun week with getting
- 0:32ready to travel for the holidays.
- 0:35And so good to be with everyone here.
- 0:37This is your very first time.
- 0:38I want to say thank you and welcome
- 0:41to the show.
- 0:42If you're coming back, I definitely want to
- 0:44say thank you very much and of course,
- 0:46welcome back.
- 0:48Friday, this is December 20, 2025.
- 0:52It's the day that we close out our
- 0:55master topic, which we'll get to in just
- 0:56a second.
- 0:57And pretty soon you'll learn what the granular
- 0:59topic is for today.
- 1:02Each week, we start with Saturday and we
- 1:04roll through to Friday and we have a
- 1:06master topic.
- 1:07And then each day, that granular topic complements
- 1:11the master topic.
- 1:13If you've never been here before, don't forget
- 1:15to check out BelieveMeAchieve.com for more of
- 1:17my amazing, of course, inspiring creations.
- 1:19And ladies and gentlemen, if you're thirsty, feel
- 1:22free to go grab yourself some RO water,
- 1:25maybe some fruit, maybe a snack, doesn't matter.
- 1:29Whatever you'd like, healthy or not, and head
- 1:32on back to the show because we want
- 1:34to kick this off.
- 1:35All right, everybody.
- 1:36Like I said, it is so great to
- 1:38be with everyone here on the show.
- 1:41And I hope that you guys learn a
- 1:45lot of key insights because this is the
- 1:50whole key, guys.
- 1:51We can learn these impacts and learn how
- 1:54they can not only, let's say, affect or
- 1:59change our life, but we also can learn
- 2:02how it can affect and change other people's
- 2:06lives.
- 2:06I think that's an important thing.
- 2:09You know what I mean?
- 2:13Does that make sense to everybody here?
- 2:14I mean, I'm hoping it does.
- 2:15If it doesn't, then please definitely let me
- 2:18know that as well because I think sometimes,
- 2:22you know, we get a little bit tongue
- 2:25-tied or we get a little bit ahead
- 2:28of ourselves because we feel that we're in
- 2:31something too deep and we don't know what
- 2:33to do, so we panic.
- 2:35And panicking isn't a good thing because when
- 2:38we panic, things just get worse, right?
- 2:43You know?
- 2:44So, you know, that's a very, very important
- 2:48thing to understand.
- 2:52You know?
- 2:53Does that make sense to anybody?
- 2:56And so, just thinking about how something is,
- 2:59right?
- 3:00We're thinking about a perspective because, you know,
- 3:02our life operates on perspectives every single day.
- 3:06But sometimes, well, we jump to conclusions, not
- 3:13because we have to, but because we feel
- 3:17compelled to or that we want to, and
- 3:19I think that's a very important thing that
- 3:23a lot of people, like, they just don't
- 3:25get, right?
- 3:26They don't get what that means.
- 3:28And I want to tell you that choices
- 3:31are what create your reality every single day.
- 3:35So without any further ado, guys, let's go
- 3:37ahead and kick this show off.
- 3:38So you've tuned into another powerful, amazing episode
- 3:42of Inspirations for Your Life, the end-of
- 3:46-the-week episode, that's right, of the Inspirations
- 3:49for Your Life show, that's right, the daily
- 3:51motivational show that not only helps you sharper,
- 3:55being able to think that way and feel
- 3:57stronger and lead your own life on purpose,
- 4:02it does a lot more.
- 4:04And by the way, I'm John Seymour, serial
- 4:06entrepreneur.
- 4:07I'm an engineer, marketing specialist, video producer, podcast
- 4:11host, coach, graduate student, and a passionate lifelong
- 4:16learner.
- 4:19Someone that has been around for years, building
- 4:22businesses and creating content and coaching people just
- 4:27like you to turn everyday moments into real
- 4:31impact, to those wow, right?
- 4:35Today, we're wrapping up our series of high
- 4:38-impact living, seven days to think sharper, to
- 4:42feel stronger and lead your own life with
- 4:45a Friday theme, yes, connection, influence, and everyday
- 4:51impact.
- 4:52How you show up with people in the
- 4:56smallest interactions and how those moments shape your
- 5:00life.
- 5:02Number one, guys, let's kick it off.
- 5:04Treat every interaction like it matters because it
- 5:07does.
- 5:08The way you talk to the barista, your
- 5:11coworker, your partner, or a stranger holding the
- 5:15door reveals who you are when nobody is
- 5:19watching.
- 5:20And I've always said, we've got to do
- 5:23the right thing whether somebody is watching or
- 5:26not.
- 5:27And when you treat each touch point as
- 5:31a chance to add respect, to be calm,
- 5:34or show kindness, your days feel richer and
- 5:38your influence just grows without performance.
- 5:42Number two, guys, make one person feel genuinely
- 5:45seen today or tomorrow.
- 5:48Look them in the eye, slow down, and
- 5:52show they're not background noise.
- 5:57A lot of people get discouraged because people
- 6:01aren't giving them the time of day because,
- 6:04well, they're saying they're too busy to do
- 6:06things.
- 6:06And that's a real problem.
- 6:08Ask a real question.
- 6:12Reflect on something they said or acknowledge what
- 6:16they're carrying.
- 6:18People remember forever the moment someone truly saw
- 6:22them.
- 6:23Number three, offer specific encouragement, not generic compliments.
- 6:30Good job is fine, but I appreciate how
- 6:33calmly you led that meeting.
- 6:36It's harder because it proves you noticed specific
- 6:41encouraging times build trust and loyalty because it
- 6:47tells people they're different and their effort is
- 6:51not invisible.
- 6:52So many people are all about themselves.
- 6:55And the minute you excel, it's like they
- 6:56get too busy to be able to share
- 6:59that with you.
- 6:59And I think that's a sad moment for
- 7:03a lot of people.
- 7:04You know, why does that happen?
- 7:08I think it's the hustle bustle of life.
- 7:13And that's something that a lot of people,
- 7:15like, they just don't get what that means.
- 7:20And the reason I say this to you
- 7:22is sometimes people just, you know, they get
- 7:27stuck in a trap.
- 7:29And this trap is something that I feel
- 7:32a lot of people, they don't know how
- 7:34to say, they don't know what to respond.
- 7:37So what do they do?
- 7:39They get stuck.
- 7:43They get completely stuck.
- 7:47And it's something that might cause you to
- 7:52go a certain way in life, right?
- 7:55Maybe.
- 7:56But then maybe it's something that gets you
- 8:00to change your perspective.
- 8:01And we all know that your perspective is
- 8:04the key, guys.
- 8:05It is the key, the key to making
- 8:08a difference in your life every single day.
- 8:13And so what does that mean to people?
- 8:18Well, I think it means that most people,
- 8:24okay, don't quite understand how their perspective makes
- 8:31such a big impact on others' lives.
- 8:35Some people just, they don't get that.
- 8:38And I think they don't get it because
- 8:40of something that's gone on in their life,
- 8:44right?
- 8:45Something that maybe, I don't know, something that
- 8:49maybe just didn't work the right way, right?
- 8:53But maybe it was about a fleeting feeling,
- 8:59an emotion that potentially got in the way,
- 9:03right?
- 9:06I think sometimes it's good to pause.
- 9:10Number four, follow up with someone you've been
- 9:14meaning to check on.
- 9:17That person you keep thinking about needs to
- 9:21hear from you.
- 9:23A simple, hey, you've been on my mind.
- 9:26How are you really doing?
- 9:29And do you really care how they're doing
- 9:31or are you just trying to be superficial?
- 9:33Because here's the thing, guys, if you don't
- 9:35care how they're doing, don't ask.
- 9:39Don't ask, all right?
- 9:44And that's something I feel that a lot
- 9:46of people don't understand, right?
- 9:49They don't get that.
- 9:52That's something that is going to hold a
- 9:57lot of people back, all right?
- 10:02And maybe it's going to even confuse you
- 10:04just a little bit, right?
- 10:06Maybe.
- 10:11When you ask this kind of question about
- 10:13how you're really doing, it can show up
- 10:14at exactly the right time.
- 10:18Number five, build relationships before you need them.
- 10:20A lot of people need help.
- 10:27And so they build them when they need
- 10:28them, but they don't build them early.
- 10:30It's kind of like going for a loan.
- 10:32A lot of people that go for a
- 10:33loan, the people that go for a loan
- 10:35and need it don't get it.
- 10:37But the people who go for a loan
- 10:38and don't need it, get it, right?
- 10:42Influence grows in seasons of consistency, not just
- 10:47during crises.
- 10:50Invest early, encouraging, helping, listening.
- 10:54So if you ever need support, the request
- 10:57rests on real history, not last minute conveniences.
- 11:05Number six, guys, listen for what people care
- 11:08about, not just what they say.
- 11:11Under every story, complaint, or win, there's a
- 11:15value, safety, respect, growth, freedom, belonging.
- 11:20And when you tune into those values, you
- 11:23connect deeper and you respond in ways that
- 11:27truly land and build that respect.
- 11:31A lot of people say this, but then
- 11:33they don't mean it, right?
- 11:37I think that's an important thing.
- 11:42And I say this to you because of
- 11:44the fact that it can change things, right?
- 11:49It can change your whole life.
- 11:52Number seven, use people's names.
- 11:56It tells them you notice.
- 11:58Dale Carnegie said this to us a long
- 11:59time ago, the most pleasant sounding thing to
- 12:02a person is the sound of hearing their
- 12:04name said correctly, right?
- 12:06Saying someone's name says you matter right now.
- 12:11Over time, those small signals build warmth and
- 12:16familiarity that no big speech can fake.
- 12:21And so I think sometimes we get caught
- 12:28up in the motion, you know, we're just
- 12:31going through them.
- 12:32But we don't really know why we're doing
- 12:35things.
- 12:36That's important.
- 12:37I said we can't be on autopilot, right?
- 12:40I've said that to you guys.
- 12:41Number eight, give value before you ask for
- 12:45a favor.
- 12:46Share a resource, make an intro, send a
- 12:50helpful link, or solve a small problem with
- 12:53zero expectation.
- 12:55Everyone I always know wants to get something
- 12:57when they've given something.
- 12:59When you're known as someone who brings value
- 13:05first, influence grows naturally and your asks feel
- 13:10like partnership and not pressure anymore.
- 13:14Number nine, support someone's dream, even if it's
- 13:18different from yours.
- 13:20You don't have to fully understand their vision
- 13:24to cheer for it.
- 13:26I'm proud of you for going after that.
- 13:30How can I support you?
- 13:32Can be the fuel they need when doubt
- 13:35is loud.
- 13:37Number 10, guys, share something helpful publicly.
- 13:41Instead of just consuming, don't only scroll and
- 13:46save.
- 13:47Share a lesson, story, or tool that helped
- 13:51you so it can help someone else.
- 13:53Everyday impact often looks like one helpful idea,
- 13:57released instead of hoarded.
- 14:00I think those are things that a lot
- 14:01of people sometimes, they push to the side.
- 14:06And they do this because they don't understand
- 14:12the value of it.
- 14:15Number 11, say thank you with detail.
- 14:19Thanks is good.
- 14:21Thank you for answering my questions.
- 14:24So patiently and staying late to get this
- 14:28done is unforgettable.
- 14:31Detailed gratitude shows people which part of their
- 14:36character you noticed.
- 14:39And when they have a chance to reflect
- 14:41on that, they're going to be like, wow,
- 14:44this person really gives a darn.
- 14:48That's important, guys.
- 14:50Number 12, guys, make promises small.
- 14:54And your follow through, huge.
- 14:58Don't over promise to impress.
- 15:01Under promise and over deliver to build trust.
- 15:05I think that's a very, very big key
- 15:09for a lot of people is to understand
- 15:11how that works.
- 15:12When people learn that it changes life.
- 15:18If I say he'll do something, it gets
- 15:23done.
- 15:24Your word becomes a powerful influence.
- 15:26In other words, when John C.
- 15:28Morley says something, people know that my word
- 15:33is just like my signature.
- 15:35Number 13, own your mistakes.
- 15:38Instead of hiding them, I mess that up.
- 15:42And here's how I'm fixing it.
- 15:44Builds more credibility than pretending nothing happened.
- 15:50See, people don't trust perfection.
- 15:53They trust honest responsibility and integrity.
- 15:58Number 14, treat service as a strategy.
- 16:02Not just being nice.
- 16:04Service is intelligent leadership.
- 16:07And when you look for ways to help
- 16:10and uplift others, you create a network of
- 16:13people who feel better when you're in the
- 16:17room.
- 16:18And that's real influence.
- 16:20Not influence you can buy, guys.
- 16:23Number 15, show up on time.
- 16:26It signals respect.
- 16:27I also tell people, if you're on time,
- 16:30you're late.
- 16:30So you should always be early.
- 16:32A little more of a caveat to being
- 16:33on time.
- 16:35Punctuality says your time matters to me.
- 16:40Chronic lateness whispers that people and commitments are
- 16:45optional.
- 16:46And if I have time, then I guess
- 16:49I'll get there.
- 16:50If not, I'll be there when I can.
- 16:53Consistent on-time presence builds reliability.
- 16:57And the sooner you get that, the sooner
- 17:00you'll start succeeding more in life every single
- 17:03day.
- 17:04It's not hard, but integrity is something that
- 17:08we have to come from, right?
- 17:12It's something we have to come from.
- 17:14And if we can't come from it, then
- 17:15how do we ever go anywhere, right?
- 17:18How do we ever go anywhere?
- 17:20That's a very, very big problem.
- 17:23Number 16, be consistent.
- 17:29Unpredictability erodes people.
- 17:32Feel safest with those whose energy and follow
- 17:35-through are steady.
- 17:36The more your behavior matches your values day
- 17:42after day, the more people lean on you
- 17:45when it counts.
- 17:47And you might say, John, I don't know
- 17:50about that.
- 17:50I'm telling you, you do know about that.
- 17:53You know about it so deeply in your
- 17:55heart, but for whatever reason, you don't act.
- 17:59Number 17, speak well of people who aren't
- 18:05in the room.
- 18:08What you say about others in their absence
- 18:11tells, well, listeners how you talk about them.
- 18:16Choosing to build reputations instead of tearing them
- 18:19down quietly raises your own.
- 18:26That's an important one, guys.
- 18:28Learning how that means something to you.
- 18:31Learning what that can do for you.
- 18:33Number 18, don't confuse influence with follower counts.
- 18:39True influence isn't measured in likes.
- 18:43It's measured in lives that are calmer, that
- 18:46are stronger or clearer because you were there.
- 18:50So you can have a small audience and
- 18:53a massive impact or a big audience and
- 18:58almost no impact.
- 19:00Choose depth over reach every single day.
- 19:05Number 19, bring solutions when you can, not
- 19:10just problems to the table.
- 19:12It's fine to say, here's what's wrong, but
- 19:16powerful to add, here's one thing we could
- 19:19try.
- 19:21You don't need a perfect plan, just willingness
- 19:24to help carry the load.
- 19:29When some people feel they can't do something,
- 19:31you know what they do?
- 19:32They just come back and say, oh, and
- 19:35then they make excuses, they make excuses.
- 19:39And those excuses get people to procrastinate, get
- 19:44people to think they're less than what they
- 19:49really are.
- 19:50Number 20, give someone the chance you wish
- 19:56you'd been given.
- 19:58A first shot, a second chance, a small
- 20:01platform when you open a door for someone
- 20:04else, you change their trajectory and honor the
- 20:09earlier you who needed that same door opened.
- 20:13Number 21, ask, how can I leave this
- 20:17person better than I found them?
- 20:21Before calls, meetings or messages, that question shifts
- 20:27you from, what can I get to what
- 20:31can I give?
- 20:32And quietly transforms both relationships and reputation.
- 20:37I think that's a very, very important one.
- 20:41Number 22, use your skills to make someone's
- 20:45day easier.
- 20:46Fix a tech issue, review a document, offer
- 20:50a marketing idea, or simply use your calmness
- 20:54to steady someone's stress.
- 20:57Your everyday gifts become powerful when aimed at
- 21:01someone else's burden.
- 21:04Number 23, be that person who resembles and
- 21:10remembers the little details.
- 21:12That's the birthdays, the preferences, the small wins.
- 21:16That thing they were nervous about, following up
- 21:20on these makes people feel seen in ways
- 21:25grand gestures can't even come close to.
- 21:30Number 24, please handle conflict in private.
- 21:35Don't make it a drama performance.
- 21:38Real leaders don't use public embarrassment as entertainment.
- 21:43You address issues directly, privately and respectfully with
- 21:47integrity, protecting their dignity while still solving the
- 21:51problem.
- 21:53And helping to keep the trust and build
- 21:57it even more.
- 21:59Number 25, don't ghost.
- 22:02When an honest conversation is needed, silence can
- 22:06hurt more than a hard truth.
- 22:08Saying this isn't working and here's why, or
- 22:12I need to step back is uncomfortable, but
- 22:17deeply respectable.
- 22:19Number 26, please share your story.
- 22:22Someone needs the lesson inside it.
- 22:25The challenges you've walked through carry wisdom that
- 22:30could save someone else's time, pain or confusion.
- 22:36Shared with humility, your story becomes a bridge,
- 22:40not a spotlight.
- 22:42Number 27 guys, remember that impact is measured
- 22:47in lives changed, not likes gained.
- 22:51One person sleeping better at night because of
- 22:55something I said or you said is much
- 22:59more powerful than a thousand passive views.
- 23:03Don't underestimate quiet, unseen transformation.
- 23:08Number 28, choose to be, well, a thermostat,
- 23:17not a thermometer.
- 23:18Don't just reflect the room, set the tone,
- 23:27bring calmness to chaos, focus on the distraction,
- 23:34gratitude to negativity.
- 23:36And when you intentionally shift the emotional temperature,
- 23:41okay, people notice something, you know what that
- 23:43is?
- 23:43They notice how you are and they notice
- 23:46what you stand for.
- 23:49Number 29, let your actions speak so loudly,
- 23:53your words only confirm them.
- 23:56Show up, follow through, serve, encourage and keep
- 24:01your character steady.
- 24:03Then when you speak your voice, it carries
- 24:07the weight of a life that matches its
- 24:10message.
- 24:13Number 30, we're ending this Friday by asking
- 24:18a very important question.
- 24:20Who did I help encourage or empower this
- 24:25week?
- 24:26Don't just ask what you achieved, ask who
- 24:30is standing a little taller because you crossed
- 24:35their path.
- 24:37That's what everyday influence really is.
- 24:41Now, a quick story.
- 24:44Somebody helped me this weekend, this past week.
- 24:50And he was pretty remarkable.
- 24:54And so I decided the other day that
- 24:57I need to go back and say, thank
- 24:58you.
- 25:00Had I do that, I got a card.
- 25:03I wrote basically that there are still some
- 25:05good people left in this world.
- 25:07And I'm great that I met you.
- 25:11Brought them some homemade cookies.
- 25:13And I'm also planning on sending them a
- 25:15pizza next week because I think more good
- 25:21needs to be put into this world.
- 25:24Ladies and gentlemen, I know that sometimes you
- 25:30feel it's just extra work to say thank
- 25:33you.
- 25:34But when we choose to say thank you
- 25:36in our lives, things matter, things change, right?
- 25:47I don't know if you guys know this,
- 25:48but you have been listening or you have
- 25:51been watching the ever popular inspirations for your
- 25:57life show.
- 25:58Oh, by the way, I'm John C.
