- 0:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone show live from the WOR life
- 0:04Speaker 1: back studios. Well, Hey, it's the first day of September
- 0:12Speaker 1: already and a rainy day today. Lots to get to
- 0:16Speaker 1: this hour. Uh, well, and now the media always try
- 0:20Speaker 1: to mislead you. The economy in crisis, the economy in shambles,
- 0:24Speaker 1: the economy, we'll get to the truth about that, uh,
- 0:27Speaker 1: coming up. Uh, um, I'm watching MSNBC or whatever it's
- 0:31Speaker 1: called now. This is the opening of the hour, the
- 0:35Speaker 1: whole segment on Roy Cohen. You know, he was this
- 0:37Speaker 1: evil lawyer, Roy Cohen. He was so awful. This is
- 0:41Speaker 1: the left-wing view. And he's the guy that created Donald Trump. Actually,
- 0:45Speaker 1: the headline they have up on the air, Roy Cohen
- 0:49Speaker 1: molded Donald Trump. Roy Cohen was Donald Trump's mentor. Roy
- 0:54Speaker 1: Cohen is haunting our politics today. Now, this is all
- 0:58Speaker 1: a myth about Roy Cohn. He wasn't the nicest guy
- 1:01Speaker 1: in the world. I mean, I knew Roy Cohn. He
- 1:05Speaker 1: was pretty bad in a lot of ways, but he
- 1:07Speaker 1: wasn't the worst guy on earth. But he did not
- 1:09Speaker 1: mold Donald Trump. He was not Donald Trump's mentor. He
- 1:13Speaker 1: was a lawyer Donald Trump had. Donald Trump had 100 lawyers.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Roy Cohn was one of them. And they make it
- 1:21Speaker 1: look like they were almost partners, these two, Roy Cohn
- 1:24Speaker 1: and Donald Trump. But you might say, well, why would
- 1:27Speaker 1: Donald Trump be using Roy Cohn? Well, because at that time,
- 1:30Speaker 1: Roy Cohn was the lawyer of New York City. Roy
- 1:34Speaker 1: Cohn was also the attorney for the Catholic Church. He
- 1:38Speaker 1: was the cardinal's attorney. He was George Steinbrenner's attorney. He
- 1:41Speaker 1: was Aristotle Onassis' attorney. Everybody had Roy Cohn. And Donald
- 1:47Speaker 1: Trump got a kick out of him. Sometimes they go
- 1:48Speaker 1: out together. But he was not the mentor. He didn't
- 1:51Speaker 1: mold anything in Donald Trump's life. He did teach him
- 1:55Speaker 1: some legal tricks that Trump used later in lawsuits. But
- 2:00Speaker 1: this is MSNBC. This is CNN, The New York Times,
- 2:03Speaker 1: the whole liberal world. They like to create these myths
- 2:06Speaker 1: about everything. Things that were just were never true. They
- 2:09Speaker 1: just create these whole fantasies, these narratives. They drill it
- 2:12Speaker 1: in your head so many times that all the left
- 2:14Speaker 1: wing believes it all the time. So you had this
- 2:18Speaker 1: knife wielding woman yesterday, this crazy fat slob lunatic with
- 2:23Speaker 1: these Knife in each hand, stabbing people. It was horrible.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Police had to shoot her dead, but it was horrifying.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Young Bank of America Executive 32 stabbed by this woman.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Times Square. It was 4.30 p.m. yesterday in Times Square.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Listen to an eyewitness.
- 2:40Speaker 2: The situation was a Hispanic lady. So they have two
- 2:44Speaker 2: knives in her hand. Tried to move off. So police said,
- 2:48Speaker 2: drop her. So they continue to move off. When they be, like, close,
- 2:52Speaker 2: the police. A little bit close. Not too close. A
- 2:56Speaker 2: little bit close.
- 2:56Speaker 1: A little hard to understand this guy. She's got two knives.
- 3:00Speaker 1: She stabbed people. She's waving the knives at the cops.
- 3:04Speaker 1: She then comes towards the cops. Of course, they have
- 3:06Speaker 1: to shoot her dead. They had no choice there. Here's
- 3:09Speaker 1: the police commissioner.
- 3:11Speaker 3: During the encounter, she told the officers, quote, I'm not
- 3:15Speaker 3: dropping anything. I would rather kill both of you. She repeated,
- 3:19Speaker 3: I will kill you.
- 3:22Speaker 1: All right. Well, I mean, I had no choice. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: had to shoot her then and there.
- 3:26Speaker 3: The subject waved the knives before stabbing a 68-year-old man
- 3:31Speaker 3: in the right side of his abdomen in what appears
- 3:34Speaker 3: to be a random and unprovoked attack.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Now, let's just point out, this story will go national.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You'll see it. The video is quite awful. But you'll
- 3:45Speaker 1: see this all over the place. And if you talk
- 3:48Speaker 1: to your relatives out of town or friends of yours
- 3:51Speaker 1: out of town, They have this idea that New York
- 3:53Speaker 1: is a dangerous, terrible place. Everything's in shambles here. New
- 3:58Speaker 1: York is booming right now. Crime is up a little.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The police commissioner and the mayor will tell you crime
- 4:05Speaker 1: is way down. It's up a little in robbery, rape.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Subway crime is up a little. But if you're in
- 4:11Speaker 1: the middle of Manhattan, it's fine. Most of this crime
- 4:15Speaker 1: is not good, but it's contained to eight precincts. And
- 4:20Speaker 1: you can walk around all over Manhattan. It looks just
- 4:22Speaker 1: like it always looked, and it's fine. But as we
- 4:25Speaker 1: told you yesterday, if you heard Steve Cuso on this
- 4:27Speaker 1: show going over the details, Manhattan is booming. New York
- 4:32Speaker 1: City is booming. Rentals, apartment rentals. You can't even get
- 4:36Speaker 1: an apartment anymore. There's no inventory left. Everybody's renting apartments
- 4:40Speaker 1: like crazy. Apartment sales, high end, through the roof. And
- 4:44Speaker 1: as Steve pointed out yesterday, Leasing, commercial leasing, office space, stores, everything.
- 4:50Speaker 1: There's a frenzy right now of leasing, everybody leasing and
- 4:55Speaker 1: buying up every bit of office space in New York.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So New York is booming despite Mom Donnie. I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 1: he's a silly, crazy character, this Mom Donnie, but he
- 5:07Speaker 1: actually gets nothing done. You're not going to see a
- 5:09Speaker 1: pied-à-terre tax. You're not going to see free buses. You're
- 5:11Speaker 1: not going to see any of his nonsense. He just talks.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He got one thing done yesterday, and that's the outdoor
- 5:17Speaker 1: dining year-round. We're going to have year-round outdoor dining.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Today's bill signing is reflective of a different policy choice,
- 5:24Speaker 2: one that will make New York City feel even more
- 5:26Speaker 2: alive than it currently does.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Now, he's always battling all this stuff, hates these restaurants,
- 5:31Speaker 1: hates all of it. Why did he grant them outdoor dining? Well,
- 5:35Speaker 1: Vincent might be right. He hates cars even more. So
- 5:38Speaker 1: if they're going to take up part of the road,
- 5:40Speaker 1: it hurts the cars. That's one reason. And the other
- 5:43Speaker 1: reason you can do it outdoors, you've got to build
- 5:46Speaker 1: all these sheds. It's another thing for them to tax
- 5:48Speaker 1: and regulate. You know, these restaurants have to do this
- 5:51Speaker 1: outdoor dining. The city shows up with a million fees
- 5:56Speaker 1: and all kinds of inspections, and they fine you every
- 6:01Speaker 1: two seconds. So they make a lot of money off
- 6:03Speaker 1: this outdoor dining. That's why a guy like Mamdani would
- 6:07Speaker 1: suddenly be for that. So you've got the new Fed chairman,
- 6:10Speaker 1: Kevin Walsh. signaling there might be a slight rate hike. Now,
- 6:17Speaker 1: some think that's not a bad idea. And by the way,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you know what? John Carney, the greatest economist, he'll be
- 6:22Speaker 1: with us later. I'm going to ask him this because
- 6:25Speaker 1: some people don't realize they can hike the rates and
- 6:28Speaker 1: it can lower the mortgage rates. He'll explain it to
- 6:31Speaker 1: you later on. President Trump reacting.
- 6:33Speaker 4: What they're doing is they're really saying you can never do,
- 6:36Speaker 4: you can never really step in the gas. We could
- 6:38Speaker 4: have A GDP of 14, 15, 16, and 20. But
- 6:43Speaker 4: every time you do well, we just announced great numbers.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And so now they're talking about raising interest rates.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. Well, we'll ask Carney about it later this hour. Hey,
- 6:51Speaker 1: President Trump going after crazy Kathy Hochul, who is running
- 6:56Speaker 1: around frantic now because Bruce Blakeman, a very strong candidate,
- 7:01Speaker 1: doing very well, is climbing, slowly but surely climbing in
- 7:06Speaker 1: the polls. I think on his way to victory in November,
- 7:09Speaker 1: Blakeman would be a great governor. Make sure you help him.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Make sure you donate. Blakeman for New York dot com.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Blakeman for New York dot com. President Trump loves him.
- 7:21Speaker 1: But listen to President Trump on Kathy Hochul yesterday.
- 7:24Speaker 4: The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, just announced that
- 7:27Speaker 4: she's letting 7000 people go into criminals. Go right back
- 7:32Speaker 4: onto the streets of New York. What's wrong with her?
- 7:36Speaker 4: What's wrong with her? How can she do that? So
- 7:38Speaker 4: we're able to get people easier, and they're bad people.
- 7:41Speaker 4: We want to get bad ones out of here and
- 7:43Speaker 4: get them out of here fast, and that's what we're
- 7:45Speaker 4: doing in record numbers.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So that's the problem with Hochul. She's going to have
- 7:51Speaker 1: to answer for all this in a debate. She's only
- 7:54Speaker 1: agreed to one debate with Blakeman, and she's demanding it
- 7:58Speaker 1: be New York One, which has got the lowest viewership
- 8:00Speaker 1: of anything. Also, it's extremely biased left-wing. Errol Lewis and
- 8:06Speaker 1: all those people, very biased, very left-wing. So I think
- 8:09Speaker 1: she feels safe there. But I just have a feeling
- 8:13Speaker 1: she's not going to get away with one debate. She'll
- 8:15Speaker 1: be forced to do a second debate. Blakeman will do
- 8:18Speaker 1: much better than her in any debate. Hey, the Lindsay
- 8:22Speaker 1: Clancy case, everybody was predicting a hung jury. Well, it's
- 8:26Speaker 1: looking like that. Jurors came back today and told the
- 8:30Speaker 1: judge they are absolutely deadlocked. The judge has ordered them
- 8:34Speaker 1: back into deliberations fourth day. So they're deliberating as we speak.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But I have a feeling this is going to be
- 8:41Speaker 1: a hung jury. And, you know, if you kill your kids,
- 8:45Speaker 1: murder your children, and you can get a hung jury,
- 8:48Speaker 1: that lawyer is going to do very well. He hasn't
- 8:53Speaker 1: said yet whether he'd work on the appeal or not. Hey,
- 8:57Speaker 1: if you missed the first hour, remember we start at
- 8:59Speaker 1: 9 o'clock every day. 9 o'clock. It's a three-hour show now.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We're talking about Anna Wintour, and there's more and more
- 9:07Speaker 1: coming out about her. She picked a vicious anti-Semite to
- 9:12Speaker 1: honor at this stupid Met Gala this year, the fashion
- 9:16Speaker 1: designer Galeano. Now, he's not a regular anti-Semite. He's a vicious, over-the-top,
- 9:23Speaker 1: crazy anti-Semite. It's nothing to do, it's not even anti-Israel.
- 9:27Speaker 1: This guy hates Jews, and he has said so publicly.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And there's video of him screaming at Jews in a
- 9:35Speaker 1: restaurant that Hitler was right and you should all be gassed.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'm not kidding. There's video of this. He was convicted
- 9:42Speaker 1: in Paris for doing this in a restaurant. Hate crime conviction.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You couldn't be a bigger anti-Semite than this guy. So
- 9:50Speaker 1: Anna Wintour knew all this. It was all brought to
- 9:54Speaker 1: her attention. She still made him the honoree at the gala.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He's not the honoree. He withdrew yesterday. said he doesn't
- 10:00Speaker 1: want to be a distraction she's putting out statements acting
- 10:05Speaker 1: as if she deserves credit for doing the right thing
- 10:08Speaker 1: but more and more is coming out and you're going
- 10:11Speaker 1: to see more come out over the next few days
- 10:13Speaker 1: that apparently everybody involved in the museum in the gala
- 10:18Speaker 1: in the condi nest was going crazy telling her this
- 10:21Speaker 1: guy's a vicious anti-Semite. All along, they were demanding she
- 10:25Speaker 1: rethink her decision. She never did. So don't give her
- 10:27Speaker 1: any credit. And apparently the only reason he withdrew and
- 10:32Speaker 1: she made him withdraw is the pressure got too great
- 10:35Speaker 1: from government, from politicians, from the city council speaker, Julie Mennon.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And it turns out, and she should have thought of this,
- 10:44Speaker 1: this Met Gala, it costs a fortune to go there.
- 10:47Speaker 1: It used to be, you know, a couple thousand a ticket.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Now it's a couple hundred thousand a ticket. Buy a table,
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's half a million, it's a million. Well, who buys
- 10:55Speaker 1: these tables? Big, big donors. Big, wealthy Manhattan donors. And
- 10:59Speaker 1: she wasn't thinking about this. Many of them, a majority
- 11:02Speaker 1: of them are Jewish. So apparently the big donors every year,
- 11:07Speaker 1: not only to her silly Met Gala, but to the
- 11:10Speaker 1: Metropolitan Museum where it's held. The major figures of the
- 11:13Speaker 1: Metropolitan Museum apparently went nuts there. And if you look
- 11:17Speaker 1: at the Board of Directors Metropolitan Museum, these are massive
- 11:21Speaker 1: donors who give millions to the museum, many of them Jewish.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So they were going nuts that she would honor a
- 11:29Speaker 1: vicious Nazi anti-Semite, a guy who stands in restaurants screaming,
- 11:33Speaker 1: you should all be gassed. Hitler was right. I mean,
- 11:37Speaker 1: who would honor a guy like this? Who would even
- 11:38Speaker 1: know a guy like this? So expect Anna Wintour to
- 11:43Speaker 1: be gone from this whole deal. And from Condé Nast.
- 11:46Speaker 1: They got to fire her. They got no choice now.
- 11:49Speaker 1: More and more people, whistleblowers are coming out saying she
- 11:52Speaker 1: was well aware of all this. Everybody was screaming and
- 11:55Speaker 1: yelling about it. And she stuck with this guy. So
- 11:58Speaker 1: expect her to be gone pretty soon. Hey, Putin, it
- 12:03Speaker 1: turns out, is the one world leader supporting Iran. Putin
- 12:09Speaker 1: has come out and made statements saying he backs Iran 100%.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Putin and Trump have always been enemies. They have nothing
- 12:16Speaker 1: to do with each other. Remember, they made up that
- 12:18Speaker 1: whole fake Russian collusion. They make, as I said, they
- 12:22Speaker 1: make up these narratives. Roy Cohen was his mentor. Fake story.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Putin and Trump are collaborating. Putin hates Trump. And he's
- 12:31Speaker 1: proving that today by backing Iran. He's putting out public
- 12:34Speaker 1: statements how he's behind Iran 100 percent. The Iran war.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You know, I don't mind this off on bomb the
- 12:42Speaker 1: hell out of him for a week. and then strangle
- 12:44Speaker 1: them economically for another few weeks. It could continue this
- 12:47Speaker 1: way for a while. But they're getting close to the end.
- 12:50Speaker 4: They don't really know. In my opinion, they don't know
- 12:52Speaker 4: who the leader is. You have the.
- 12:54Speaker 1: There's nobody in charge. The economy is crumbling.
- 12:57Speaker 4: They're a failed nation. They've got 350% inflation. They have
- 13:03Speaker 4: no currency. They're not paying their soldiers. Their leaders are
- 13:08Speaker 4: largely dead. Their Navy is gone. Their Air Force is gone.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Their.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Surveillance equipment is almost entirely gone. That doesn't mean we
- 13:18Speaker 4: won't smack them.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it's just going to get worse for them.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The whole place will just collapse. Hey, you remember Maduro, Venezuela?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Middle of the night, we go in, we capture Maduro
- 13:33Speaker 1: in his pajamas, take him out of his bed. He's
- 13:35Speaker 1: the president of the country with all his security. Amazing
- 13:39Speaker 1: military operation, and we got him. But he's been in
- 13:41Speaker 1: prison all this time, a long time. How long has
- 13:45Speaker 1: it been, like a year in jail? Most of the
- 13:47Speaker 1: year in jail? So for the first time, he was
- 13:50Speaker 1: seen publicly yesterday. They paraded him around. He looked great.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He lost a lot of weight, slimmed down. He was
- 13:57Speaker 1: wearing a gray sweatsuit with white sneakers. You know, normally
- 14:02Speaker 1: you look like a prisoner with the gray sweatsuit and
- 14:03Speaker 1: the white sneakers. Now he looks like everybody in New York.
- 14:06Speaker 1: That's all you see are sweatsuits and sneakers. Go out
- 14:10Speaker 1: in the hall here. All you see are sweatsuits and
- 14:11Speaker 1: sneakers everywhere on everybody. But he looked great. Some guys
- 14:16Speaker 1: go to prison, they come out looking much better because
- 14:19Speaker 1: they go in as a fat slob and they're in prison,
- 14:22Speaker 1: in the prison gym. They're working out all day. They're
- 14:25Speaker 1: eating crappy food and they slim down. So he looked
- 14:28Speaker 1: pretty good. Hey, Jim Comey, James Comey, the sleazy, dirty
- 14:33Speaker 1: FBI director, dirty cop James Comey, They're still investigating him.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He's got another problem. You remember he was conspiring with
- 14:40Speaker 1: this guy, Daniel Richman, who was a professor, I think
- 14:43Speaker 1: at Columbia, who he was using to leak stuff to.
- 14:47Speaker 1: He would leak it to Richman, who would leak it
- 14:49Speaker 1: to the New York Times. Well, they've got a probe now.
- 14:54Speaker 1: They're going to bring Richman before a grand jury. He's
- 14:58Speaker 1: going to be in legal hot water. And will he
- 15:01Speaker 1: go to jail? Will he do it now? He'll probably talk.
- 15:04Speaker 1: He may testify against Comey. So the Comey stuff is
- 15:07Speaker 1: not over. The noose is tightening around him. So we'll
- 15:12Speaker 1: see what happens. Hey, we'll take some calls next. And
- 15:15Speaker 1: if you haven't called before, call us. We always like
- 15:17Speaker 1: new callers. 800-321-0710 is the number. We'll take some calls next.
- 15:20Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
