- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Fierazzo.
- 0:20Hi, friends, family and Christ.
- 0:21Thanks so much for watching, sharing the podcast, and there are some guests that I wish
- 0:25we had an hour.
- 0:26And today's guest is one of them.
- 0:28I want to direct you to a couple of websites.
- 0:30First of all, Chad Robeshow will be joining us in a minute.
- 0:33You got a brand new book on, I'm talking hot off the presses.
- 0:36It's called A Mission Without Borders, why a father and son risked it all for people
- 0:42of Ukraine.
- 0:43And also, we want to direct you to the website, MightyOaksPrograms.org, MightyOaksPrograms,
- 0:50and Chad's website, ChadRobeshow.com.
- 0:55And we'll talk about his podcast, and we just want to bring him on right now, brother.
- 0:58Thank you so much for all you do.
- 0:59Thank you for your time today.
- 1:00Good to see you.
- 1:01Absolutely.
- 1:02Thanks for having me on.
- 1:03Oh, thank you.
- 1:04Well, first of all, the podcast, how often do you do it?
- 1:07How can people hear it?
- 1:08Yeah, it's called The Resilience Show.
- 1:11I do it weekly.
- 1:13This new episode drops every Monday.
- 1:16We have some incredible guests, Terry Krue, Sean Ryan, Kaylee McEnany, every week, we
- 1:21just have some phenomenal guests.
- 1:23And we talk about topics that make sure media that typically cover and how people can
- 1:29more resilient in this ever changing world that we find ourselves in.
- 1:33You mentioned Terry Krue's, and I see there's a benefit coming up, the fourth annual Warrior
- 1:37Gala, and that's on MightyOaksPrograms.org.
- 1:41And I just want to read the description and have you tell us a little bit more.
- 1:44It says The MightyOaks Foundation is a faith-based veteran service organization that teaches
- 1:49combat veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress, how to get beyond combat trauma and
- 1:57live their lives in the manner God intended.
- 2:01Tall order, brother, but I got your newsletter.
- 2:03I got a lot of testimonies from people that have been through it that are raving about
- 2:07it.
- 2:08Share a little bit more, please.
- 2:09Yeah, well, about 14 years ago is when we MightyOaks began.
- 2:14It began from me doing my eight deployment staff, Afghanistan, and special operations coming
- 2:18home, following my face, and just some amazing people coming around me to help me restore
- 2:24my family, overcome my battle with suicide, and not become another veteran suicide statistic.
- 2:28And through all the things that people helped me with, nothing was more profound than
- 2:32it in being led to a relationship with Jesus and aligning my life for the life I was
- 2:37created to live and finding hope and restoration and purpose there.
- 2:41And that purpose really manifested for me, and this is deep burden to God put on my heart
- 2:44to pay it forward.
- 2:45And that was, again, 14 years ago.
- 2:48And since then, we've had over 7,000 people have come to this recovery program.
- 2:53We do about $8 million a year in programming for absolutely free to active duty service
- 2:56members, veterans, first responders, spouses.
- 3:01We have a recovery program.
- 3:03I mean, that's our recovery program at these places, these amazing ranches we have around
- 3:08a country.
- 3:09We do about 50 of a year.
- 3:10And while we had 7,000 people over the last 14 years, we're doing about 1,000 per year
- 3:13now.
- 3:14And again, we even pay for their flights.
- 3:16We have a resiliency program where I go to bases around the world and speak on resiliency,
- 3:22mentally, physically, socially, spiritually.
- 3:25I've spoken about half million troops in the last decade at bases around the world.
- 3:30And really just given a message of open resiliency through a relationship with Jesus.
- 3:35And we have books that we give out, some of the books I've written, we've given out
- 3:38over about 400,000 copies of our books now to the troops.
- 3:43And we have an advocacy program, or even like next month, I'll be testing for Congress
- 3:48on faith-based programs.
- 3:49President Trump had appointed me to be a chairman of the White House faith-based coalition
- 3:52and veterans affairs to make sure our troops have access to faith-based programs.
- 3:56And the last thing we do at Mighty Oaks is an international program where we take these
- 4:00same programs we do here and we share with our ally partners around the world and just
- 4:06help them to find the same hope that we have here.
- 4:09So you have an amazing story, amazing testimony.
- 4:12I mean, as you said, you were confronted with your own suicide, you know, your thoughts
- 4:18about that and how deep that goes and you overcame.
- 4:21You know all about PTSD, you were in combat, Marine Corps veteran, what is a force recon?
- 4:28Explain that, USMC force recon veteran.
- 4:32Explain that real quick.
- 4:33Yeah, well, I mean, every branch of the military has their own special operations, you
- 4:37know, maybe he's known for their nanaxials and the army has the green braids and, you know,
- 4:41the special operations component of the Rangers, Air Force has, you know, Paris, you and
- 4:46the top back controllers and the Marine Corps has two, the Marine Corps has a recon and
- 4:50then the top tier of recon is force recon and then Marsox.
- 4:54I was a force recon Marine, certain special operations in that capacity.
- 4:58I tried out for a JSOC task force to join special operations command task force and represented
- 5:03a Marine Corps at JSOC, which is the premier special operations that combines all the branches
- 5:08together.
- 5:09It's that kind of represents all the branches and then we have, you know, at JSOC, you
- 5:14have Delta 4, SEAL Team 6, a unit called Task Force Orange, and so I got to represent
- 5:19the Marine Corps at that command and ended aid deployment, staff can't stand in that capacity.
- 5:24So President Trump said, by the way, it's right on your website, thank you for sharing
- 5:29your incredible story, Chad.
- 5:30I extend my personal gratitude for you, you're distinguished and steadfast service to our
- 5:35country.
- 5:36And I want to read one of the testimonies that I got from the Mighty Oaks programs.
- 5:41Brandon said, I expected the course to be more heavily focused on PTSD and less on
- 5:47biblical principles.
- 5:48I'm glad I was mistaken.
- 5:50This has been the best veteran experience I've had.
- 5:53I've been blessed to work with other veteran organizations, but never has the foundation
- 5:57been the word of God.
- 5:59I needed this and I'm excited to share this experience with other veterans and first responders.
- 6:04So you're doing great work, Chad.
- 6:07Kudos brother.
- 6:08Now let's go back to Afghanistan now.
- 6:10I think that's where now we're going to get to your brand new book coming up in a minute
- 6:14here, a mission without borders, but we've got to talk about saving a Z's, which is going
- 6:19to be a feature film now, hugely popular book.
- 6:23But the story is really amazing in and of itself.
- 6:26Please just, I know you can bullet point that, you're a pro at this point, how the mission
- 6:31to help one became a calling to rescue thousands from the Taliban.
- 6:36Go ahead brother, share Chad.
- 6:38Yeah, like you said, I could spend hours talking about the saving a Z story, but a, you
- 6:42know, a Z's and I had a very unique job when I went to that J sock unit.
- 6:45My job was a AFO advanced force operator, which means it's probably the closest thing
- 6:49in the military to be an undercover and you work in what's called a singleton capacity
- 6:53by yourself, but your partner is not a U.S. service member.
- 6:56It's a local national and so for me, it was a Z's, a Z's and I did all eight of my deployments
- 7:01together.
- 7:02Hundreds of missions going ahead of our unit to do all the clandestine logistics to put
- 7:05our soldiers on target to capture a kill bag guys, and that was my job, you know, and
- 7:10so while I can tell you that a Z saved my life several times in combat, he probably saved
- 7:14my life every day, you know, trying to get me around different parts of the country and,
- 7:19you know, impact stand in Afghanistan to be in Taliban villages and not stand out and,
- 7:24you know, don't eat that, don't walk there, don't talk to that person, you know, if you
- 7:28talk right now, they're going to kill us.
- 7:29So he kept, he kept me alive and we became obviously became very close friends and beyond
- 7:34him saved my life, but I didn't go back to base when operating and he went home.
- 7:38I went to his home, I lived in his home.
- 7:40I held his babies when they were born.
- 7:41So he was, he was my friend, you know, I just, my teammate is my friend.
- 7:44And so when Afghanistan withdrawal happened in President Biden announced a full and complete
- 7:47withdrawal of Afghanistan at a lot of problems with that, you know, first of all,
- 7:52I think regardless of what president it would have been to leave Afghanistan was a catastrophic
- 7:58mistake for national security and global security.
- 8:00I mean, this is, you're talking Bogom Air Force base, the most strategic place in the
- 8:03globe between Iraq, Iran, Russia, and China, you don't far from that.
- 8:07You could have declared the war on terror over, you could have, and we could have
- 8:12supported that by the Afghan National Army, like we had been doing since 2018, but you don't
- 8:16give up that base to enter international community.
- 8:19It was participating there to fight global war on terrorism.
- 8:22It was working that lie that American people were told that we need to end this war
- 8:27and we need to stop putting American troops in harm's way.
- 8:30The truth is we have 2,500 troops there.
- 8:32We still have 80,000 troops in Japan since World War II.
- 8:34We have 40,000 troops in Germany since World War II.
- 8:36We have 30,000, 35,000 troops in South Korea on that 38th parallel,
- 8:41keeping North Koreans from coming over.
- 8:43Having our troops in places like this and putting contingencies like this,
- 8:46then keep us in war, prevents war.
- 8:48And so that was a lie of the American people.
- 8:50We withdrew in a way that was horrific that turned over the country of Afghanistan.
- 8:58We left Americans behind.
- 8:59We left our allies behind.
- 9:00We left 80 billion dollars in equipment behind.
- 9:03We still giving, by the way, 85 million dollars a week to the Taliban
- 9:07while terrorism is growing in Afghanistan.
- 9:09And we're giving that money to sanction people that are sanctioned,
- 9:11and our FBI's top 10 most wanted list, which is a complete atrocity.
- 9:15So all these things I didn't agree with,
- 9:18I couldn't change and I kind of went on a tangent there.
- 9:20But the one thing I could control and could have,
- 9:23I could do even as a civilian was to go and get my friend Aziz.
- 9:27So I made a decision that while I was not happy with this draw,
- 9:31I was going to do my part to go get my friend.
- 9:33And so I called a couple of other special operations veterans that I knew well and trusted
- 9:38and said, hey, I'm going to go get Aziz's wife and his six kids.
- 9:41Will you help?
- 9:43And you know, I have some great friends with a lot of experience.
- 9:46And we put together a team by 12 guys from, you know,
- 9:48Navy CEOs to Green Berets, to Recon Marines,
- 9:51to got a few guys from CIA's, a paramilitary unit.
- 9:54And we put together a team and while we're planning this
- 9:56effort to go get Aziz's wife and six kids,
- 9:58we realized how tragic this really was.
- 10:01There was a call that came in or a text that came in
- 10:04that these group of orphans, about 3,000 orphans,
- 10:06had just been abandoned.
- 10:07And in that moment, we made a decision.
- 10:09And God, I think burdened all of our hearts to say,
- 10:11beyond Aziz's wife and six kids,
- 10:13let's go help as many people as we can,
- 10:15Americans, interpreters, allies.
- 10:17And so we leaned forward to do that.
- 10:18As Aziz's six, eight says,
- 10:21send me, we all had to send me the heart.
- 10:24And beyond that decision, God performed a miracle that allowed us,
- 10:27not only rescue Aziz's wife and the six kids,
- 10:29but 17,000 other people, which, by the way,
- 10:32ended up being the largest civilian evacuation in American history.
- 10:36And I say that not to pat myself in the back here.
- 10:40I say that to do it, say that this was completely a God
- 10:42orchestrated miracle.
- 10:43I'm not smart enough, by the way,
- 10:44or capable enough to pull anything like that off.
- 10:46God, miracle off the miracle off the miracle to pull that off.
- 10:50It was absolutely amazing.
- 10:51And so the book captures that story and highlights
- 10:56some amazing people that I was proud to be served with.
- 10:59It glorifies God, and we God did.
- 11:01And then it's been made into a very big motion picture movie.
- 11:06And I'm very proud.
- 11:07I was nervous about that at first,
- 11:08but I'm very proud to see it's going to be done well
- 11:10and done right by some amazing folks.
- 11:13It's been a few amazing folks left in Hollywood.
- 11:18So when can we be expecting that?
- 11:20Is that next year?
- 11:22Yeah, it's probably looking at early to actually hit theaters
- 11:25probably early 2026 in the 2025, 2026 as window hit theaters.
- 11:31It's been produced now.
- 11:33And I can't say who, but there's some people involved in it.
- 11:38And from acting to directing that,
- 11:39most people listening would recognize who they are.
- 11:42Right.
- 11:43Chad, it's an amazing story.
- 11:44No wonder they're going to take the book
- 11:46and make a movie out of it.
- 11:47And if you, friends, if you go to Chad robachow.com
- 11:51and click on a bow, you can scroll down where it says,
- 11:53friend, you'll see a picture of a Z's.
- 11:56And he's the man that spent.
- 11:59Did you say Chad, eight missions with you?
- 12:02And they were going to leave him behind?
- 12:05Well, we did eight deployments and over 100 missions with me.
- 12:08He served at America's top tier special operations unit.
- 12:12I believe that, you know, at JSOC,
- 12:14the number one special operations unit world,
- 12:15we served there for over 15 years.
- 12:17Wow.
- 12:18So him and all of our other allies,
- 12:22you know, we left, we left,
- 12:24we didn't only leave Americans behind,
- 12:26we left our allies, a wartime allies
- 12:27that we made a contractual promise to for their service to us
- 12:32that we would give them a path to citizenship.
- 12:33It's called the SID, a special among your visa process.
- 12:36And we, we, we, we did not keep our promise in that.
- 12:43And, you know, and they're being left behind.
- 12:45Not only that, we left out by a metric system there
- 12:48with the Taliban, who has all of our interpreters,
- 12:50identities, locations, and the Taliban's actually using that
- 12:53with taxpayer money, we're sending them this,
- 12:55to hunt them down and murder them for what they did for us.
- 12:59So it's complete, it's complete betrayal to our allies
- 13:04and every service member, our service members are,
- 13:06or, I mean, look, beyond that,
- 13:10if you have any kind of heart and care about people,
- 13:14it's 40 million people in Afghanistan,
- 13:1520 million women and little girls
- 13:17that are being sexually enslaved from the moment we left.
- 13:19You know, little girls is always nine years old,
- 13:21they're being sexually enslaved,
- 13:22they lost all their human rights.
- 13:24And, and we did that as a country.
- 13:27And it should apologize for it, it should make it right.
- 13:30But instead, we're sending $87 million a week
- 13:33to them, half of it in cash,
- 13:35that's going right to the Taliban.
- 13:37And it's a, it's a complete atrocity.
- 13:38And, you know, I did my listening to call their congressman
- 13:41and as a constituent, say, you know,
- 13:43we're not okay with that.
- 13:44Well, we should, we, we need to take a brief pause here,
- 13:47but we can say elections have consequences in friends
- 13:50who have a big election coming up in November.
- 13:53And we got to vote the communists and the socialists out.
- 13:56But more with Chad Robachow,
- 13:58when we come back on World View Matters,
- 13:59we'll talk about the brand new book,
- 14:01A Mission Without Borders, that's next.
- 14:04Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.

- 14:39And subscribe to our Rumble channel,
- 14:42Freedom Project Media on Rumble.
- 14:44Thank you guys very much.
- 14:45It's been growing like crazy.
- 14:47Chad Robachow, I didn't get a chance to ask you
- 14:50about your MMA career.
- 14:53My goodness, it's just so vast,
- 14:56all the things that you've been a part of.
- 14:58And then you certainly don't look like a grandfather
- 15:02and you've got kids and grandkids.
- 15:05So let's go back and just share a little bit
- 15:06about the MMA career.
- 15:08And just for our listeners that don't know
- 15:11about your background, share a little bit.
- 15:13That's just fascinating.
- 15:14Yeah, well, I mean, more shorts
- 15:16or something that I did so I was five years old.
- 15:18And so it was never any career I pursued.
- 15:21It was just something I did on the side as in the military.
- 15:24It was like three years of my life that I did
- 15:26at my peak of my fighting that I only fought.
- 15:29It was after my last club in Afghanistan
- 15:31and the part of my recovery time
- 15:33that I just solely fought and taught martial arts
- 15:35and I ended up being ranked number six in the world.
- 15:38I won a World title.
- 15:39I was 18 and two as a professional MMA fighter
- 15:42and my background is mainly grappling
- 15:44based martial arts since I was a kid wrestling
- 15:46and judo and traditional juditsu.
- 15:48And in 1995, I started Brazilian juditsu
- 15:51and I've done a fourth degree by building
- 15:53across the Gracie Junior in Brazilian juditsu.
- 15:55And love that art.
- 15:57I still trained it this day.
- 15:58But once I started Mighty Yokes,
- 16:00it was time for me to retire at the 20 professional fights
- 16:02and did pretty good at it.
- 16:04But I still trained.
- 16:05And then it's something me and my sons have done.
- 16:07I have three kids, three adult kids, 27, 26, and 24.
- 16:13I am a grandfather at four grand children and one on a way.
- 16:16And then last year we brought a new daughter and a family.
- 16:20So I have a grand daughter, a grand kid
- 16:22that her same age as my daughter and my wife and I
- 16:24adopted our niece at birth.
- 16:27And so she's 20 months old now.
- 16:30We started all over from empty nesting
- 16:32to being a grandparent and parents again at the same time.
- 16:35So she's summers out my fourth kid and our daughter
- 16:39and she's just amazing blessing to us.
- 16:41And you are busy anyway.
- 16:44Let's jump into the book now, Chad,
- 16:46a mission without borders.
- 16:48Five star reviews already on Amazon.
- 16:51It's been out what, three weeks or so,
- 16:52maybe a little bit more than that.
- 16:54But it says you offer an honest no holds barred account
- 16:59of what has really been happening in Ukraine.
- 17:02And you share powerful stories that are soaked
- 17:04in resiliency and determination, faith and sacrifice
- 17:09in the face of overwhelming opposition.
- 17:12So Chad, let's just say this right up front.
- 17:15A lot of people have different views on Ukraine
- 17:17and Americans, the US support of Ukraine and Zelensky
- 17:22and the globalists, but the people that are suffering.
- 17:26First of all, just share why you decided
- 17:28to write this book at this time.
- 17:31Yes, I'm definitely happy to address that
- 17:33because the thing has been a very confusing topic,
- 17:35especially for Christians and conservatives.
- 17:38I mean, obviously I'm a Christian person foremost.
- 17:42I'm very conservative.
- 17:43I'm probably most patriotic guys I know
- 17:45and I don't believe in using US taxpayers' dollars
- 17:48to be wasted overseas.
- 17:50So I got a lot of heat from people
- 17:51as those one of you, Ukraine.
- 17:53Well, Chad, why would you go to Ukraine?
- 17:55Why would you support this corrupt nation?
- 17:57Because President Zelensky's corrupt,
- 17:58we shouldn't be sending hundreds of billions of dollars
- 18:01to Ukraine.
- 18:02And first of all, I heard those complaints to me
- 18:05and I agree with that money being sent there
- 18:08is our US taxpayer dollars that is being sent
- 18:10to a corrupt government and is being wasted.
- 18:12It's not making that up front lines.
- 18:13No one knows that better than me
- 18:14up in the front lines over 10 trips now.
- 18:18But I also believe, and I'll say this,
- 18:22I did not go to Ukraine to help President Zelensky.
- 18:25I did not go for President Biden.
- 18:26I believe this corrupt politicians
- 18:29Zelensky and President Biden have the ability
- 18:31in this world 24 hours and they don't
- 18:33because they're becoming rich off of it
- 18:34and getting power off of it.
- 18:36So I did not go for them.
- 18:38What I went for is the innocent people
- 18:40that are victim of that corruption.
- 18:42And if us as Christians and conservatives
- 18:44ever let our politics and our jadedness
- 18:46get in the way of our compassion for people,
- 18:48then we should change our politics, right?
- 18:49I mean, these are, I've been their first hand in scene.
- 18:53There's been over many people killed at this point.
- 18:55Mostly, Zelens, I've been the pizza parlors
- 19:00and movie theaters and playgrounds and daycares
- 19:04just like we have here, this isn't a third world country
- 19:06and not that third world countries deserve that.
- 19:07But this is the first world country like America
- 19:10that have apartment buildings that are being rocketed
- 19:13by ballistic missiles, the size of telephone poles.
- 19:15You're talking first world nation, a world superpower
- 19:18attacking another first world nation
- 19:20and they're targeting civilians intentionally
- 19:23to create fear and terrorize the civilian population
- 19:25to make them bold.
- 19:27And you have corrupt politicians in the middle
- 19:28that are allowing it to happen and not ending it
- 19:31because they want this war to continue.
- 19:32You don't hear President Biden or President Zelensky
- 19:34talking about peace.
- 19:36In fact, the only person you've heard talk about peace
- 19:37is President Trump who said exactly what I say
- 19:39in opening in the book is this thing
- 19:41can be ended in 24 hours and he can't.
- 19:43And so that's why I went to Ukraine
- 19:46because there are victims that are resulted this corruption.
- 19:50And we've been one of the first reasons
- 19:52that went there is I knew when this happened,
- 19:55if you go back to Afghanistan,
- 19:57the withdrawal and the way the withdrawal happened,
- 19:59not only was I upset by that,
- 20:00but all over enemies were watching,
- 20:03were not upset and they were cheerleading.
- 20:04They're like, yes, our enemies, this is the time
- 20:07to do whatever evil we want to do in the world
- 20:09because we have a weak White House.
- 20:10And I tell you, if you have a weak White House,
- 20:12if you have a weak commander chief in the United States
- 20:14or America, the world is an unstable and dangerous place.
- 20:17And it's time, it's the game on for the Putin's of the world
- 20:20and the President sees in the world and that's what happened.
- 20:23And President Putin saw this.
- 20:25He put a hundred thousand troops on the border,
- 20:27Eastern border of Ukraine.
- 20:29He flexed to see what President Biden would do
- 20:31and President Biden's response was to remove
- 20:32our U.S. troops from Ukraine and to close our embassy
- 20:35and consulate before he removed the Americans.
- 20:37So what that did was all NATO followed
- 20:39because they always followed what America does
- 20:41and they gave a green light for Putin across.
- 20:43And when Putin came across, we knew before this happened,
- 20:46when Putin would come across, we'd still Americans there.
- 20:48So my team positioned in place to remove Americans out
- 20:52because our government didn't.
- 20:54And look, you could have whatever political opinion you want,
- 20:57but no matter where you sit,
- 20:59there is never a scenario that the United States government
- 21:02should leave Americans behind in war zones.
- 21:04And we did it in Sudan, we did it in Africa.
- 21:06And so not Africa, we did it in Afghanistan,
- 21:09we did it in some other places in the world
- 21:11and we did it in Ukraine and unfortunately,
- 21:14good people, like the people work with,
- 21:16had to stand in the gap for our White House
- 21:18to rescue Americans and that's what we dare do.
- 21:19We rescued Benjamin Hall, the Fox News reporter
- 21:22recovered bodies of his teammate.
- 21:24We rescued, we recovered bodies of U.S. service members
- 21:27who volunteered to go there and fight
- 21:29when our State Department wouldn't and couldn't
- 21:31because of our White House.
- 21:33We've jumped in on missions that our tier one
- 21:35JSOC units couldn't do because the White House would let them.
- 21:38We did operations that are central intelligence agency
- 21:41wanted to do, but they couldn't because of the White House.
- 21:43And we were coordinated with them all the time.
- 21:45By the way, my organization, it does this stuff.
- 21:48We, we de-complexed with the Pentagon,
- 21:50we worked with JSOC to make sure we're not,
- 21:52we're doing de-complexion and we support
- 21:54as a patriotic surrogate these organizations
- 21:56to do things that either can't or won't do.
- 21:59And so, you know, this was very coordinated effort
- 22:01with our government who couldn't do with the White House
- 22:04but would not allow them to do, which is the right thing.
- 22:06And so, we rescued tons of people in Ukraine.
- 22:08And one of the things that Mighty Oaks did is,
- 22:10is went in and a Mighty Oaks foundation went in
- 22:12is is train, provide humanitarian aid
- 22:15but also train pastors to be chaplains to go
- 22:19and minister their congregate members
- 22:22who are now conscripted troops on the front lines.
- 22:25And so, we've actually trained in this date,
- 22:27I think a 300, 300 plus pastors to be chaplains
- 22:31and help get them on the front line.
- 22:32It's a incredible thing to be part of.
- 22:34I think one of the biggest things I take away from the book
- 22:36and talk about in the book is the fact that I did this
- 22:39with my son.
- 22:40We have 84 years of service in our family
- 22:42from War I to Korea, Vietnam.
- 22:46Both, I was in Marine, both my sons in Marines.
- 22:48One of them was Afghanistan veteran just like me.
- 22:50And he wanted to come to do this
- 22:52and I tried to bench him in the beginning
- 22:53out of my fear of control as a mother.
- 22:56And God just had different plans and so did my son.
- 22:58And they came up point to it and realized that,
- 23:01you know, I love my son but God loves him more.
- 23:04I can protect my son to God, protect him more.
- 23:06And there's no safer place for my son to be,
- 23:09whether on a couch, back in Texas or in the front lines
- 23:12of Ukraine amongst Russian forces,
- 23:15there's no safer place for him to be
- 23:17than the middle of God's will.
- 23:18And I had to release that fear to faith in my son
- 23:21and the God to allow him to do what God was burdened.
- 23:23It's hard to do and that was a,
- 23:24so to me that the most craziest part of this book
- 23:27and story is the relationship between me and my son
- 23:29and taking him into a war zone with me,
- 23:31which is something I know father ever wants to do.
- 23:34But I had to succumb to that and submit to that
- 23:39because I felt that was God's will.
- 23:41And that's my biggest takeaway from this book, by the way.
- 23:45There's no safer place to be than in God's will.
- 23:48That's what you said.
- 23:49And your son, it's just amazing.
- 23:50So it says you did seven trips
- 23:53and you saw a change in your son as his confidence grew
- 23:57and excelled but that conversation
- 23:59or conversations before he decided to go
- 24:03or you decided to allow him to go.
- 24:04That must have been fascinating.
- 24:05Do you detail that in the book as well?
- 24:07Oh yeah, the whole book,
- 24:09one of the string through the whole book
- 24:11is that relationship between me and my son
- 24:13and him wanting to go to the different steps
- 24:15of letting him get more and more involved to the end.
- 24:17And ultimately about the end, I did 10 trips to Ukraine
- 24:20and he's done more than me now.
- 24:21He's done 13 trips to Ukraine.
- 24:23And he's been some amazing work that I'm extremely proud of.
- 24:28So yeah, he's been there more than I have now.
- 24:30And yeah, through the book, from the very beginning to the end
- 24:33is that journey that he and I went on
- 24:35as a father and son through this.
- 24:38Chad, before we let you go,
- 24:39just three minutes left.
- 24:40Talk a little bit more about the chaplains
- 24:43and the inspiring work that they're doing in Ukraine
- 24:46and reaching people that are suffering
- 24:48and hurting and in need, the real victims.
- 24:51Yeah, I mean, because when you, you know,
- 24:53one of the things that I think Americans,
- 24:56one of the great things about being in America
- 24:57and one of the terrible things about being in America
- 24:59is we're in this bubble.
- 25:00And we don't realize how great we have our life is
- 25:05because of the freedoms of one art,
- 25:08art aimed by God and the freedoms that we've been protected
- 25:11by every man and woman who's born in uniform
- 25:13since 1775 and fought blood and died for those freedoms.
- 25:15We're part of only 25% of the world
- 25:17that have religious freedoms and we're free of persecution
- 25:20and we can go and pulp it in Sunday
- 25:22and either give or hear the word of God.
- 25:24And so we just have this amazing opportunity
- 25:27that we just take for granted sometimes and you know,
- 25:30and we think that this can never happen to us.
- 25:33In Ukraine, these people would have thought
- 25:34this can never happen, right?
- 25:36Ukraine's a first world country.
- 25:38It's this malls and, you know, just regular everyday life.
- 25:41And so you imagine being in a church one Sunday
- 25:44and the congregation has filled with 50% men,
- 25:4750% women.
- 25:48The next Sunday you go, all the men are gone
- 25:51from 16 years old to 60 years old, they're all gone.
- 25:54And you imagine me in that pastor saying,
- 25:56these are, you know, I've knew little, I knew your little,
- 25:58I've since he was, since he was five years old
- 26:02and now he's 22 years old and he's off.
- 26:05And these pastors wanted to go to the front line
- 26:08where their memory had conscripted
- 26:09and be able to go and minister them on the battlefield
- 26:11because Ukraine didn't really have a chaplaincy.
- 26:13And so, but these pastors don't know how to sleep
- 26:16in the woods, poop in the woods, you know,
- 26:18not be a burden to the troops, how to be a chaplain,
- 26:20how to minister to people dealing with PTSD.
- 26:22They didn't know how to apply medical first aid
- 26:25and not be a burden.
- 26:26So, we decided, we saw that need.
- 26:29And so, my de-oaks and our team and my de-oaks,
- 26:31these are guys who came through my de-oaks as students
- 26:33and now become team leaders and want to go
- 26:35around the world and pay it forward,
- 26:37put together a program that trained,
- 26:40and again, that was been over 300 chaplains,
- 26:42trained these pastors to be chaplains and equip them
- 26:44and supply them the move forward
- 26:45and help coordinate with the importance of our lines.
- 26:47So, they can minister to their congregate members
- 26:50on the front lines of their communities.
- 26:52And it's been an amazing thing to watch our team do that
- 26:55and be part of that.
- 26:56Wow, incredible.
- 26:58Incredible things happening behind the scenes.
- 27:00We're thankful for you to share some of that insight.
- 27:02And in the books, friends,
- 27:04both a mission without borders and saving a Z's
