- 0:00They might be music a mile has. Don't mind me, I'm just testing
- 0:39some audio before we get rolling in the treehouse. Today, it is time
- 0:45to leave your worries outside and join us here in the Treehouse. I'm Daniel
- 0:49Malley along with Trey Trenholme and Raj Sharma. Welcome too, Friday number two
- 1:00here in the Treehouse. Yeah. Where it's the special end of the week
- 1:06episode that we now do weekly for the second time ever, and we'll continue
- 1:14to do it until we either don't feel like it or we die, whichever
- 1:19comes first. That is where we get the events of the day to carry
- 1:26you into the weekend and ultimately feel better about yourself because hopefully you were not
- 1:33the subject of one of these news stories you actually, Dan and I think
- 1:40we're good here, but you left a third option out of reasons why we
- 1:44couldn't do this, and that would be incarceration. How dare I forget one
- 1:51of the other major arteries that tends to get ruptured in this show. Did
- 2:00you notice that on one of the reels I posted, I think it was
- 2:04the real I posted on Monday? I uh see this this see this is
- 2:08proof that no one reads the captions on those things, even though I put
- 2:14fourth probably too much effort into him. But I had said, I said,
- 2:20laughter, they say it's the best medicine. Yes, And then I
- 2:23mentioned, you know what was in the show, and uh, and I
- 2:27said warning, like they do, like the like the doctor warnings before starting
- 2:34a new exercise regiment, check with a doctor, so I said, uh,
- 2:38I said warning our doctors in prison, so you check with yours.
- 2:53I should probably also say it's former doctor. It was former before he went
- 2:57to prison for other reasons, but afterwards definitely, I wonder if they make
- 3:02him like help out in the like the medical facility of the hospital. I
- 3:07know a friend of mine from years and years and years ago. I haven't
- 3:10seen him in ages. His dad got it was like a white collar thing,
- 3:14like he was a doctor in Indiana, no sorry, in Illinois,
- 3:19and he I guess had done some insider trading or something like that. But
- 3:23he ended up going to federal prison. They took away his license. He's
- 3:28now a practicing registered nurse because you can you can't do that, but they
- 3:35like as part of his like plea agreement, he agreed to help out in
- 3:39the medical facility, like if the doctors were out, like because he was
- 3:44a medical licensed medical doctor at one point, right, so it wasn't like
- 3:47he could like even though he did do surgeries, It's like he couldn't,
- 3:51but he could assist that that lesson is sentence. You know what, ros
- 3:55I don't know if they have him, I don't know what job they have
- 3:59him forming in federal prison. I hope it's relieving congested balls. How congested?
- 4:11Are we talking? Backed up all the way? Like might need to
- 4:24call Brooks plumbing in. And people thought people thought a proctologist was the worst
- 4:31job. Now a prison plumber. I think we found the one job micro
- 4:41would not do. And I think we've going to a new phrase called prison
- 4:53plumber. Certainly we could not be the first to come up with you.
- 5:00I think we are. I don't think we should be proud of it,
- 5:03but I think you're just hoping that we are. Okay, we have to
- 5:08we have to ask our audience now if they've ever heard the term prison plumber,
- 5:15because wow, that is just that is fantastic. That made my day
- 5:17like that, But it actually it is an interesting question you think about it
- 5:26because as a prison, you're obviously a self contained facility, right and you
- 5:31have inmates from all walks of life typically, yeah, other than criminal some
- 5:40of some of them may have had a had a day job to coincide with
- 5:44their night criminality. I don't know. So it kind of makes sense that
- 5:48you have some doctors, certainly lawyers are in prison. It makes sense if
- 5:53there's a plumber in there, as opposed to imagine being a Brooks Plumbing,
- 5:59a regular, normal plumbing, family friendly plumbing company, and you get a
- 6:03call, and you get a call from Sunny Veil Yeah, saying hey,
- 6:09we have some backed up pipes here. I can't imagine. What's that tray
- 6:15said, I bet you do. So. I can't imagine being a plumber
- 6:24and getting that call from the federal prison saying, hey, we have some
- 6:26backed up pipes here. Would you mind come take a look. And if
- 6:30I'm the plumbing company, I'm not sure if I want to or not,
- 6:34because just from a just from a branding standpoint, I don't know if I
- 6:39want my work truck in front of the prison. It just may look bad.
- 6:45On the other hand, prison prison dollars spend outside the wall, So
- 6:48I don't know. Yeah, I just would I would want to get the
- 6:51call and be like, and you walk in like you've got all your plumbing
- 6:55gear. You've got your your tools and your snake and and all that stuff.
- 6:59And they're like and so so which pipes backed up? They're like,
- 7:02hey, big louy, I think you meant to called back page. It's
- 7:15like, all right, but this is gonna be time and a half.
- 7:24Makes sense. You drove, You drove all that way. I mean,
- 7:30you don't want to have driven all that way for enough? Yeah, that
- 7:39is a prison plumber. I like it. Okay. Sometimes there's magic that
- 7:46happens on the show for absolutely no reason. That is the magic of the
- 7:51show. You cracked the code, my friend. All right, But I
- 8:01think it's a good idea, right if you if you are, like if
- 8:05you were a teacher and something bad happened in your life, now you can
- 8:07go into prison. And I think if you were to teach, maybe that
- 8:11takes some time off of your I don't know if they do that. If
- 8:13there's anybody that's a lawyer that's listening to show, or in the criminal justice
- 8:18or the Corrections of the Division, if that's a thing, Is there anybody
- 8:22listening in the prison systems? I guess yes. I was about to say,
- 8:26I'm sure there are like that. That is also one of the one
- 8:30of the great mysteries and magic and appeal of this show and has been now
- 8:35for many many years, is that we appealed to both criminals and law enforcement
- 8:39alike. I know we will, we will run the gamut, and we've
- 8:43had both on the show simultaneously. So, but I wonder if that's a
- 8:50thing, well, because I think that would be kind of cool. Like
- 8:52if you were a license plumber or whatever, or an electrician, whatever,
- 8:56and you can go in because you can you can take asses to learn,
- 9:00like you can get your g D. You can get your associates degree,
- 9:03some people get a college degree or a law degree. If you can do
- 9:05that, if that would take time off your sense, I think that would
- 9:07be kind of I guess, kind of a toning for your sins or whatever
- 9:13it is. Oh yeah, and also you know, kind of kind of
- 9:16like kind of like being a football coach, put put your players in the
- 9:20best position to succeed. So if you're a prison it's like, Okay,
- 9:24do do we have anyone in house that that was a bummer? You didn't
- 9:31even hear it when you said no, I didn't. I really didn't.
- 9:35You're putting people in the best positions. I was on about it. I
- 9:46was on about a two or three second delay as it left my As it
- 9:50left my mouth, I realized, Oh yeah, because I just saw trades
- 9:54face. Yeah, you got it. You do that? Are they giving
- 10:01copies of kamas Sutra? Prison initiation? No, trede, that's for prison
- 10:07yoga. I must stay, I must stay here for thirty five years.
- 10:22Now downward facing inmate plumbers. Here, gentlemen, good starting way. We
- 10:45even read the first birthday. Yet here we go. All right? Today
- 10:48is day September eight, twenty twenty three birth days to day. He plays
- 10:56Dustin on Stranger Things all seasons. That is a gatten mada rosso. He
- 11:03is twenty today. So now when Stranger Things four five? Is it five?
- 11:11So when the next season of Stranger Things comes out, I guess it's
- 11:13going to be the college years. Actually no, I think it's uh,
- 11:20it's gonna be like some of the cast didn't coming back. So I think
- 11:24it's actually gonna be like a prequel. That's what I read. Oh really
- 11:30yeah, because I mean, so are they going to dage the kids like
- 11:33they've like they've done in so many other films recently. I don't, I
- 11:37honestly, because last I read is what's your name? Who played even Bobby
- 11:45Brown. Yeah, she's not coming back, Aretty, sure about that,
- 11:48because I really have a hard time believing you can have as Stranger Things without
- 11:52her. That's and I'm with you, and that's why I didn't understand even
- 11:56how they were going to go and do this. Well, you pay her
- 12:01whatever she wants, and you fund the rest of her life and for probably
- 12:05two or three generations of her offspring after her, and you do another season
- 12:11of Stranger Things. You know, you just you just make Netflix like half
- 12:15hers never never never seen it, really really never. All right, I'm
- 12:22officially starting a list of all the things you would know before we got into
- 12:26where I was doing that thing before where you guys would say something from Stranger
- 12:28Things and laugh and then I would like laugh too. I'll just get it
- 12:33out of the way now, I've never seen one episode. Don't don't look
- 12:37at it as getting it out of the way, now, look at it
- 12:39as what's it called Trey being honesty? Yeah, but it was, you
- 12:46know, that was I didn't want to feel left out when you guys were
- 12:48talking about like white kid Christmas stuff. You know, I didn't want to
- 12:52feel left out like I was growing up. So when you're like, oh,
- 12:56whatever's full, I'm like, ah, that's hilarious. I remember that.
- 13:03It's really good. I mean, it is a it is worth the
- 13:05watch. Now. I will say this, it is going to be different
- 13:07for Raj because Trey, you and I. So part of the reason I
- 13:11think Stranger Things was was a success in at all was because it tugs at
- 13:16so many of us nostalgia wise. But I don't know if Raj ever had
- 13:20that experience as a child, riding bikes around with your friends and trying to
- 13:28figure out who's kidnapping and murdering people. I mean no, I mean we
- 13:33rode bikes and uh there was the one scary lady on the corner. We
- 13:39all had her, and then we had the the douche bag across the street
- 13:43who hated kids and didn't like people on his lawn, and so like,
- 13:48you know what, in that case, you might you might be able to
- 13:50identify enough with the Stranger Things kids to kind of get into it. Possibly.
- 13:54Let's I mean, I'll I will give it a shot if I usually
- 13:58give a series that's weird. I'm not a big like fantasy, sci fi,
- 14:03whatever this genre is. We know what you like, mister nine O
- 14:07two one zero, Yes, well, big fan, I mean honestly,
- 14:11And a lot of it, you know, takes place in an eighties mall,
- 14:15and I mean, oh, there is no greater eighties mall than Town
- 14:18East. Oh my goodness, that's that is true. If it was good
- 14:20enough for Vanilla I used to hang out there, it's good enough for you.
- 14:24Yeah, it really is. When you think about all time great malls,
- 14:30I don't think of the Mall of America. That was a novelty.
- 14:33That's not a real thing. That's that's a pr stunt. You want to
- 14:37talk about real, authentic malls in America, it's Town East Mall, that's
- 14:43right. And if I can also be somewhat biased, I think it was
- 14:48called Washington Square or Washington Park Mall and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. That was my
- 14:52mall when I was in the single digits as a child. And and that
- 14:58mall even after, I don't even know if they ever stopped stop letting you
- 15:03smoke in that mall. You can probably still smoke in that mall now.
- 15:07But that one didn't even have two stories. It was one just flat mall.
- 15:13Yeah, Town East. Town East, on the other hand, three
- 15:18stories. Yeah. The third story was the food court, and it was
- 15:22also featured in the movie Logan's Run. I don't know if you remember that
- 15:26nineteen seventies side. I don't remember. I don't remember the scene in Logan's
- 15:31Run where they where they go to the weird Chinese food in the food court.
- 15:35No, but it's because I don't remember Logan ever ordering like the number
- 15:39four at Panda Express. I like, how you think it was nice enough
- 15:45to have a Panda Express. No. Yeah, it was featured in the
- 15:52movie Logan's Run because of its futuristic sci fi design and it's light up steeple
- 15:58that it has outside. I'm sorry, I have a hard time wrapping my
- 16:00brain around describing Town East Mall as futuristic design. Oh it was. It
- 16:06was ahead of its time. It knew at some point that gang members would
- 16:08be too scared to go there, so like, but that's my that's my
- 16:15hometown of Mesquite so anyway, love it so much. Gatton Matazarro is twenty
- 16:22today that in again he played Dustin on Stranger Things other birthdays today was Khalifa
- 16:29is thirty five? Screw him? What do you do to you? Black
- 16:33and yellow? Hate bleep in song? Because I hate bleeping Steelers fans.
- 16:41Oh, okay, okay, Yeah, this is a This is a trey
- 16:45working in a in a bar that played lots of football games on Sundays.
- 16:49Coming out and man, a Steelers fan will get on the jukebox and they
- 16:53will beat you down with that damn song. Uh. My favorite moment with
- 16:57with was Khalifa's I was actually performed in Dubai and I was outside and I
- 17:00took a picture of the hotel, the Borche Khalifa, which is the tallest
- 17:06hotel for the tallest building, right, the tallest building in the world,
- 17:10and I put it next to Whiz Khalifa's mug shot, and I said,
- 17:15the Borg Khalifa is not higher than whis Khalifa. Well played Randy Taylor on
- 17:26Home Improvement. That's one of the three boys that is Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
- 17:30He is forty one today, so that'll make all of us feel nice and
- 17:33old. He was the one that was on the covers of all the all
- 17:37the heartthrob magazines back in the nineties when those actually still existed and he had
- 17:44somewhat of a career for a little while and now not so much. I'm
- 17:47really sure what he's up to now. And he's not the one that constantly
- 17:49gets in trouble like domestic violence and stuff like that. Is he? No,
- 17:55that was that was Brad. I think that Brad, the older son.
- 18:00I think he was the one that had those issues. Gotcha, Okay,
- 18:03yeah he was. Yeah, I remember who you talked about. Now.
- 18:06I think he did a couple of movies and I think I think the
- 18:08big royalty and syndication stuff came in and he's like, yeah, I don't
- 18:11need to work anymore. For his sake, I hope he did get a
- 18:15chunk of those royalties. Other birthdays today, Remember last week when we mentioned
- 18:22had Brian Williams done birthdays on NBC Nightly News. When he had that gig,
- 18:27people would have taken him less seriously. So therefore, when he lied
- 18:30about doing and saying, or when he lied about things that he did while
- 18:34covering the war, people probably wouldn't have been so shocked and surprise and would
- 18:40have been like, no big deal. And Raj, I believe it was
- 18:41your Trey when you said, yeah, had he just told us that Pink
- 18:45was thirty today, then all would have been forgiven. Pink is forty three
- 18:49today. Wow. Yeah, that's another another magical part of this show.
- 19:00We have a tendency to just do things like that that are that you never
- 19:06would There's no way you can plan for it. You just throw out a
- 19:08random name of a celebrity and the next thing you know, it's their birthday.
- 19:12Wow, Kennedy us fifty today. Did you know that Rolling Stone actually
- 19:18voted her the most hated MTV VJ of the nineties. Yeah, she was
- 19:22so so bad. She was so hard to watch. They were trying to
- 19:27I think I think she would be what you would coin as the first Emo,
- 19:33uh, like if they had a mascot, like if Emo was a
- 19:36high school, like Kennedy would be in their mascot. I always figured,
- 19:38like I figured Kennedy. I didn't know what came first or who came first,
- 19:44Kennedy or Daria, But to me, Kennedy was like Daria the cartoon
- 19:49as an MTV VJ. Yeah, she was just so hard to watch.
- 19:53And now I think she's all like weird, a conspiracy theory something is that
- 19:59what she does now? She's on business. Oh yeah, she's on Fox
- 20:03News. So no, Fox Business I think has more credibility. Okay,
- 20:10okay, I got you. I said more, not all. Martin Freeman
- 20:18turns fifty one today. Played Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit movies. He's doctor
- 20:22Watson on the BBC's Sherlock. And he's also, if I remember this correctly,
- 20:26Martin Freeman is also in the Marvel Cinematic universe. He was in Waconda
- 20:32Forever as the CIA agent who was in the Air Force. Oh got you?
- 20:37Okay, Yeah, And if I remember correctly, he was also the
- 20:38only I believe he's the only white character I have seen in the Marvel movies
- 20:44to actually do the Wakonda thing and not get his ass beat for it.
- 20:49Yeah. I think if you're in the movie, Like, if you're in
- 20:52the movie, you like the director Ryan Googler says no, it's okay,
- 20:56you can do this, and yeah, he's still sitting like, I don't
- 20:57think I should. No. That's when that's when you turn to the cast,
- 21:02were like, can I and they're like, we voted, We're you're
- 21:04good, You're fine. It's kind of like that day on the set that
- 21:07I've read about a couple of times, on the set of Django Unchained,
- 21:11where Leonardo DiCaprio stops and says like like, hawn, I don't I don't
- 21:18feel so comfortable say in the end where this this much at, to which
- 21:22Samuel L. Jackson turned to him and said, mfort this is just Tuesday
- 21:26to us. Yeah, I'll get on with it. And that when when
- 21:34you know, when Samuel Jackson tells you now get on with it's like,
- 21:37okay, I guess I got my clearance. Yeah that's uh, yeah,
- 21:41that would work. Yeah, that's that's when you know you can say it.
- 21:45David David Arquette turns fifty one today. At this point, I think
- 21:51he may just be best known as Dewey in the Scream franchise. He also
- 21:56did some wrestling for a while. He was on the show a few years
- 22:00back and and that kind of got weird. And he did he did Courtney
- 22:03Cox. He no, No, he married Courtney Cox. Oh, I
- 22:07know that's I thought you said. I thought you said he dated her.
- 22:11No, I said he did her. Oh yeah, might be his best
- 22:15job, his finest work. He is also still currently a wrestler. Uh
- 22:22he does the I think it's it's a it's a it's out of la like
- 22:27it's called Lucas something like. It's no, not the movie, that's not
- 22:36Joe Libre. Whatever it is is a maga form of Mexican wrestling. Yeah,
- 22:41yeah, but it's asking that it's I think it's Robert Rodriguez who did
- 22:45like Dustal Dawn and all that. I think it's his. I think he's
- 22:48an investor in this wrestling uh promotion in like in California. But he's still
- 22:56like he does the extreme like extreme wrestling where you like light bulbs and chairs
- 23:02and like gets cut up and all that weird stuff. So Jesus, I
- 23:06think that's one of the I think that's one of the reasons, if not
- 23:08for him just being insane. Is what like kind of drove a wedge between
- 23:14him and Courtney Cox is because he was doing like that weird stuff, and
- 23:18I can see how that would make a little well, sub celebrities are making
- 23:23money, you know, doing reality show about a soccer team or they're playing
- 23:29pickleball, and they're all making money and doing everything. Get else. Here's
- 23:33David Arquett who decided I'm gonna be a wrestler. Yeah. Yeah, here's
- 23:37David Arquett cutting his own face with a broken light bulb. Yeah. See.
- 23:41You know, no, if you just reverse that and went if you
- 23:44heard Ryan Reynolds do that, you'd be like, man, there's something wrong.
- 23:48But then you go, David, watch that, because my thinking is
- 23:51Ryan Reynolds will find a way to make that damned entertaining. Yeah. But
- 23:53if you hear like, hey, man, David Cox, David dor Qett
- 23:56just you know, smacked himself in the face with a chair and then smashed
- 24:00the light bulb overs and you're like, yeah, right. Even T and
- 24:06Z would be like, we're not running that. That's too obvious. Yeah.
- 24:11Brooke Burke also turns fifty one today. She's the former Dancing with the
- 24:15Stars co host. She also won the seventh season Amy Mann Lead Singer until
- 24:19Tuesday is sixty two. David Steele from Fine Young Cannibals and The English Beat
- 24:26is also sixty two today. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is eighty one today,
- 24:33and he will he will live forever thanks to that, thanks to that meme
- 24:37of him at the inauguration sitting there cold legs crossed with his mittens. He
- 24:44was adorable. And finally, as far as the living birthdays today, Willie
- 24:49Tyler is eighty two today he was a ventriloquist of Willie Tyler and Lester.
- 24:55Oh. Yes, yeah, really, you really you know who Willie Tyler
- 25:00the ventriloquist is, but you have not seen stranger things, goonies or Christmas
- 25:06vacation. That is correct. When I was a wee lad and I knew
- 25:10I wanted to be in the entertainment business. So when you were ventriloquist dummy
- 25:14size, yes, I actually went door to door and I sold remember the
- 25:18back of the comic books where you could go like sell stuff and you get
- 25:22points and you can get it from like a fishing pole or a KaiA whatever
- 25:25all that stuff was. You could get like these prizes. I got a
- 25:29ventriloquist dummy because I wanted to learn. I wanted to be in entertainment in
- 25:33some way. And I got my dummy and they gave me the thing on
- 25:37how to do like the how to talk without moving your lips and it was
- 25:40like, yeah, I can't do that, and that was the end of
- 25:42my ventriloquism days. But I so so what you're saying is, if you
- 25:48could have just mastered the speaking without your lips moving thing, you would have
- 25:52been the Indian Jeff Dunham. Yeah, except your dummy would have been a
- 25:59white guy. Now they're just two of them. You are listening to the
- 26:11Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com. Nine seven two
- 26:25fifty two hundred is Rodney Anderson's phone number. I've used it many times in
- 26:27the past, and I think you should as well. Nine seven two hundred,
- 26:33especially if you're thinking about or actively in the housing market. But if
- 26:37you're not pre approved, you're shooting yourself in the foot, isn't that right?
- 26:41Rodney? Absolutely? You know I tell people every single day you must
- 26:45be pre approved up front. What is that? What is pre approval of
- 26:48people? It's like a golden ticket. It's like a golden ticket that has
- 26:52your amount that you can qualify for the type of loan it fits into your
- 26:56budget. And you're we're looking at everything. We're looking at your credit.
- 27:02Why is that so important that determines your interest rate, how much money you
- 27:06have to put down, what type of loans are available for You don't assume
- 27:10by looking online that you have great credit because lenders look at what's called a
- 27:12mortgage VICO score, So we have to look at your credit. Therefore,
- 27:17we look at your income, we look at your assets. We make sure
- 27:19that you're not over paying over and above your budget, because the last thing
- 27:22you want to do is set yourself up for a failure. Then you're in

- 28:59Sorry, I'm just I'm still imagining uh young Raj playing with a ventriloqousm.
- 29:06Yeah, and it was. It was a lot of stuff that I
- 29:08sold to get a very very poorly made like clown. It was a it
- 29:14was a clown dummy little Yeah. Yeah, this is not now it's turning
- 29:19into a horror franchise. Yeah. See, I have no issues with clowns.
- 29:23I think they're fantastic. I'm not afraid of them, but they are
- 29:27creepy. They bring joy to so many Uh not anymore, but yeah,
- 29:34that's what it had a little the string and it did the whole the whole
- 29:37thing, and you can move the ahead in the eyes. And then it
- 29:41had like a little instruction thing on how you certain letters you pronounced differently because
- 29:47you can't move your lips so uh like v's and f's and all that stuff.
- 29:52And I just couldn't. Like I would try in the mirror, and
- 29:55I gave it. I gave it like a solid two weeks of like every
- 29:57day like trying, and I could see my own lips move, and I'm
- 30:02like, this is there's no way I will be a successful entertainer. They
- 30:06will see, they will they will not believe that it is the dummy talking.
- 30:11So I was like, I did, So what was your what was
- 30:12your dummies name? I didn't. I didn't. I it was just clown
- 30:18because I was like, I have to master this first before I give him
- 30:22an we can take before I could take the stage with the routine. So
- 30:26did did you practice in front of dog? No? Dogs had My dog
- 30:32was Dusty at the time. We had dog names because they had personalities,
- 30:34and this was just my clown. And I was like when I get when
- 30:37I get my act and I get my jokes, and like I was gonna
- 30:41do the setups and he was gonna do the punchlines, like that was the
- 30:44whole idea. That's pretty smart for it for how old were you? I
- 30:48was eight? Was Unfortunately now, I feel like you're just doing the same
- 30:52thing, except Trey and I are the dummies. Actually, yes, Ty,
- 31:07no, not at all. I'll be the poster child of it.
- 31:10But no. I was actually curious because Rage talked about something, I think
- 31:15it was last show about it, and I don't remember what, but talking
- 31:18about talking to your parents and saying, you know, I'm gonna do this,
- 31:21and they're like, you're you know I'm gonna kill you? How did
- 31:25they did they? Were they supportive of you when you told them you wanted
- 31:27to be a comedian? No, my mother cried. My mother cried the
- 31:34same amount of tears is when I told her that I wasn't going to med
- 31:37school. Uh, the exact same reaction. She's like, what am I
- 31:41supposed to tell everybody? Everybody else's kids, doctors. I was like,
- 31:44well, when they start paying my bills, I'll go to whatever school they
- 31:47want me to go to. But I was also working for them, so
- 31:48there was no like it's like, hey, I want to be a comic.
- 31:52It's like cool. Make sure that this was. I was like,
- 31:53I want to do this full time. They're like that's great. Uh,
- 31:56to make sure you're at the office at eight thirty. And so as long
- 32:00as I did my job, I was, it was okay for me to
- 32:02go do this quote hobby. And it's when the hobby started taking up more
- 32:08time and started making money. Is when my mom was like, you know,
- 32:13if you want to go part time, I was like, you gotta
- 32:14fire me, Like I gotta I'm not coming in like I would. I
- 32:16would go to work at like, I'd get there like ten, ten thirty.
- 32:22I would take lunch at noon and I would leave it three that was,
- 32:25and I would just a good job. Yeah, you sound like a
- 32:29program director of a radio station if you are. Are your parents hiring I
- 32:36was? I would, Uh, I would? I would. I would
- 32:38have them adjust my check for the full forty hours. Like I'm like,
- 32:42hey, you know I was still working because we had now had cell phones.
- 32:45I'm like, I took calls in the car and I'm like, well,
- 32:47I mean I can't prove I'm wrong. And so you were doing remote
- 32:52work before it was cool? Yeah, and I mean I was still kind
- 32:54of doing what I would like, do my job on the way to the
- 32:57open mic. Uh, And then like five thirty would hit and they would
- 33:00hey, can you work a little bit extra? No, so, but
- 33:04I would, but I would still make them give me forty hours. And
- 33:07one day my dad I was, God, I've got there at ten thirty
- 33:08and I was leaving at eleven thirty to go meet a buddy of mine in
- 33:12Denton, and my dad's like, we can't. He's like, I love
- 33:15I love that you're passionate about this, but I can't keep paying you for
- 33:17this. I was like, please God fire me. And he's like,
- 33:21he's like, how you own one quarter of this company? And I was
- 33:23like, just take it. I don't want it. Look he's like,
- 33:28okay, just don't don't don't tell. Your mom was like where you like,
- 33:32how you're both afraid of your mother? Yeah, and it was like,
- 33:36so get up and get dressed like you're and he's like, and then
- 33:37go f off and go go somewhere else and do whatever you got to until
- 33:40you're open, like and that went for months before she's like, hey,
- 33:44you know Steve, when the old employees like you. He said, you
- 33:46haven't been in the office in three months, and I'm like, what,
- 33:53at least at least you knew who Steve was. Yeah, I was like
- 33:57he I was like, he drinks a lot. Mom. And then and
- 34:01then the walls came crumbling down and she was just like, I can't believe
- 34:05we've been paying you every week for the last three or four months and you
- 34:08haven't been in that office once. I was like, I would have loved
- 34:10to have been a fly on the wall to see the conversation that after you
- 34:15see the conversation she had with your father after you oh yeah, oh no,
- 34:20no, We're there, like we were both there and she's like,
- 34:22did you know about this? And he's like what he did? He was
- 34:29legitimately like I loved it for it because he was like he what he said?
- 34:32Don't tell your mom? And she found out. He looked at me
- 34:36like, you know, I'm going to throw you under this bus. It
- 34:40was like I'm then back up. He's like, how dare you have been
- 34:45lying to us this whole time? And I'm like, I know, I'm
- 34:49a I'm a piece of crap. I'm just the worst. They got those
- 34:55checks cleared, but I appreciate. I won't do it again. Speaking of
- 35:05not wanting to do something again, a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Barcelona
- 35:13was forced to turn around last Friday after a significant medical issue on the plane.
- 35:22Is that what they're they're calling it significant medical issue now, well,
- 35:25at least according to at least according to USA Today, that's how they're referring
- 35:31to it for the moment, or at least in the first part of the
- 35:36story. Is it's like one of these words, someone out a heart attack.
- 35:39Okay, you know, it would not surprise me if someone had a
- 35:44heart attack in the aftermath of this situation, because it would have been a
- 35:52probably a preferred escape from the situation or what they might have called a full
- 36:00flight. This was indeed a full flight. So I'm going to let the
- 36:12pilot here tell you basically what happened on this flight that forced them to turn
- 36:19around last Friday. Negative, it's just a bio hazard issue. I movie
- 36:24benifactor who had diary all the way through the airplane. So they want us
- 36:28to come back to Atlanta. In case you missed it the first time.
- 36:35Negative, it's just a bio hazard issue. I movie benifacturer had diary all
- 36:39the way through the airplane, So they want us to come back to Atlanta.
- 36:45Wait wait, wait, yep, yep. Did you just say wait
- 36:50wait wait? That's probably what the passenger was saying all throughout the plane.
- 36:54Yeah, I mean that's it makes it sound like, you know, they
- 36:59were having fun with it and running down the aisles, and I don't.
- 37:02I don't think joy was being had but now, which is unfortunately because you
- 37:08think there'll be at least one person having a good time. But keep in
- 37:15mind, Trey, this was two hours into the flight, so when he
- 37:21said we're coming back to Atlanta, they turned the plane around to now full
- 37:25plane of diarrhea. Now is going two hours back to Atlanta as opposed to
- 37:35the next nine hours to Barcelona. But yeah, I can't imagine there would
- 37:38be any happy passengers on that flight unless that flight just happened to be carrying
- 37:44the two girls from the Two Girls One just turn around, look like bac
- 38:00Man going down the aisle. I'm laughing, but I also need to throw
- 38:09up. You're listening to The Treehouse. Visit us online that Treehouse on air

- 38:57just saying there's some there's some relative belief here on Oak Island, and I
- 39:00can't wait to take a trip up there. Matter of fact, we may
- 39:04need to take a charter up there just to get some on island research and

- 39:47with the shingles in the yard and a massive hole in the roof, what
- 39:52are some other signs that someone's roof has some issues. Well, you know,
- 39:55people, if you can see the top of your roof or around the
- 39:59edges, you need look for shingles that may be missing, gaps or anything
- 40:01like that. Sometimes you'll see some things around the accessories. You might have
- 40:07vents that got blown around, you might have gutters that got dennet. You
- 40:10know, these are things that you can possibly see from the ground, but
- 40:14majority of the time you're not gonna be able to see a lot and that's
- 40:15what gets people really messed up with thinking they don't have a problem with their

- 40:55to Jacqueline L. From Brooks Plumbing the website Rooks Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 41:00I'm besides the obvious, Jacqueline up, just get a water gushing everywhere?
- 41:05What are some signs that you may have a plumbing issue in your home?
- 41:07I think you should go with the five senses. Smell, site, feel,
- 41:14maybe, don't taste your plumbing. Definitely, don't don't lick that.
- 41:20Okay, good, good to know number one unless it's water coming out of
- 41:22the tap. But if you smell something that's off, especially in a room
- 41:25that has plumbing. Bathroom, and I'm not talking about running in the bathroom
- 41:30after your teenage son, but I'm talking like if you go into a bathroom
- 41:31that you don't use ever, and all of a sudden it has a foul
- 41:37odor, that's a symbol, a signal that something might be wrong. If
- 41:39you go into a room and all of a sudden, you're looking around.
- 41:42You're like, where did this mold come from? But you don't have a
- 41:45high water bill, you can't smell anything odd. That might be a symbol
- 41:47that something's wrong you. You at your house that you don't live at anymore.
- 41:52We're there for a couple of weeks, and all of a sudden,
- 41:54tier I was like, oh my god, there's a roach in a house.
- 41:58One roach, and you had a plumbing problem. They an't seek water.
- 42:01Roaches seek water, So you I mean, anything that's not right might
- 42:07be a symbol that there's a problem. If you think something is off,
- 42:10just give Rooks Plumbing your call. They can help you through any and all

- 42:40three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. That's two one four three six a
- 42:44thirty eight thirty eight for any and all of your plumbing once and needs the
- 42:47website Rooks Plumbing Texas dot com. Still have a couple of other stories,
- 42:59actually got five or six, and I know we'll never get to and I'm
- 43:01just trying to decide do we do that. Do we do a couple of
- 43:05those? Or hery, what was the story you were telling me about the
- 43:09other day, an SMU student getting busted with a fake ID. I don't
- 43:15feel like that was really newsworthy. I feel like that's just any given night
- 43:20in Dallas. It normally, yes, she would be correct. So this
- 43:27girl, and the key to the story is she's with her parents. And
- 43:30if you're not familiar with the laws of Texas, if you're with your parents,
- 43:34and I think it's pretty much this way anywhere. You know, if
- 43:37you're under age, and as long as you're in their presence, you can
- 43:39drink, you can come in whatever I should. I wish I knew that
- 43:43back in the day. I would have been like, Mom, come on,
- 43:45let's go. Now here's another part of the law of in Texas.
- 43:52Under t ABC law, if a door guy bounce or whatever, anyone,
- 43:57if they know you have a fake ID, you can be in on the
- 44:00premises because then no one knows if you're you know, of age, underage,
- 44:06whatever, you're not to be let in. So dad, mom and
- 44:10dad come up with her daughter. They asked your door guy, Hey,
- 44:15h our daughter's with us. She's under age, but yeah, it was
- 44:17that cool. Can she come in? He goes sure, and but they
- 44:22check everyone's I D got the parents ID check? Dad check. Mom.
- 44:27Daughter then whips out quite proudly and gives the door guy a fake ID,
- 44:34says she's over, after they had just had the conversation in front of her,
- 44:39saying that it's okay for her to drink as long as she's with her
- 44:42parents. Yes. Yes, And this was you know, it went into
- 44:45the details of yes, she can come in and drink. They have to
- 44:49be you know, she can't, has to be in your eyesight at all
- 44:51times, you have to order the drinks. Blah blah blah. Yet she's
- 44:54still handed over a fake ID to the door guy. Yes. The reason
- 45:00why I'm I'm I feel like I'm the reason why I'm asking you these these
- 45:04questions because I want to make sure I am absolutely clear at just how stupid
- 45:09she is. Oh no, yeah, no, it's it's every bit of
- 45:14stupid ass as you're thinking, and literally it was like watching the dad.
- 45:19It was like watching the five stages of grief just flash over him in seven
- 45:23seconds. It's like denial, I can't believe my daughter is this bleeping stupid
- 45:31anger? You are so bleeping stupid? What is it? That's the next
- 45:38one, bargaining my daughter cannot be the stupid, Please make her smarter and
- 45:47we'll go with And then just sadness of my daughter, is that stupid?
- 45:53And then acceptance of looked at he goes, thank god, she's pretty.
- 46:00I thought it might have been his own acceptance by realizing I can't believe I
- 46:04sired a moron. H Yeah, No, I think that was part of
- 46:07it. I mean I think he probably had a hint before this, and
- 46:09this was just the cherry on top of my daughter's a moron. Yeah.
- 46:14I feel like as a parent, you know, if you have a stupid
- 46:15kid. Yeah, but that's when he turned to go, how did you
- 46:19get into smu? Oh? I think dad knows how she got into because
- 46:25I think Dad's having to pay more than just tuition to get that idiot into
- 46:30school. Yeah. I suspect Dad and his financial planner. No, exactly
- 46:32she got into ESTMU. You pulled an A and M stunt at an SMU
- 46:37campus that it really is. Yeah, that's you want. You want to
- 46:45go someplace where they have that stuff down to a science. As far as
- 46:50getting into places with fake IDs and all sorts of things. You go to
- 46:52tech, yeah, oh, you go to you go to to my alma
- 46:57maters, Southwest Texas. That's what you know. If that was the case,
- 47:01if the parents would have broken out their fake IDs at the same time.
- 47:07It's so ironic that you mentioned that, RAJ, because I had one
- 47:10fake ID way way back in the day, and it wasn't even a fake
- 47:15driver's license. It was a fake college ID two Southwest Texas. I'm pretty
- 47:24sure thirty two thousand students on that campus did too. I think that was
- 47:30part of the admissions packet. It's just here you go. It comes with
- 47:42a beer bomb. But the good news is you can give those things to
- 47:49the to the news student at orientation, like when the parents are helping them
- 47:53move into the dorm and everything, because parents know its Southwest Texas. They
- 47:57know of course. I'm like, there's an our in our quad. They
- 48:00have a beautiful bronze statue of of two horses with two Native Americans on horseback,
- 48:07Like you're gonna say, horrors, Southwest, That's just that's hold.
- 48:15That was in front of our attorney house. But that was difficult, but
- 48:20it was they have a display there, but it's two Native Americans on horseback
- 48:25and it's this beautiful bronze statue. And one of the things that you got
- 48:30at orientation was like myths and sayings and like whatever at at Southwest Texas and
- 48:34it said that if I'm not even making this up, it said, if
- 48:37a virgin graduates from Southwest Texas State, the horses will sprout wings and fly
- 48:42away. I was like, I'm going to school here. My mom's like,
- 48:54where are you planning on going to med school? I'm like, do
- 48:57you think I'm going to med school? The horses just flew away. At
- 49:01that point, that's what you tell my mom. I'll go to med school
- 49:05with those horses fly away because I've got a better chance of getting into med
- 49:12school. I have a better chance of showing up to med school on one
- 49:19of the horses. It's just a total it's just like a complete alternate reality.
- 49:29At that point, Yeah, I'm just that school that was always I
- 49:37mean and I'm not. I really don't think I'm exaggerating when I say,
- 49:43at the time, now this is in the nineties, fifty percent of the
- 49:47dancers at strip clubs who came from San Marcus. Yes, and that has
- 49:52God intended it. And fifty percent of all strippers from San Marcus. And
- 50:00one original strain of chlamydia that was that was that was ours. We had
- 50:06suthless has five it was five guys to everyone, five girls to every one
- 50:09guy. Uh. And then because of those us spectacular odds and uh drinking
- 50:16and fake IDs, we had our own strain of chlamydia. Yeah. Yeah,
- 50:23Dan, Dan looks but dumbfounded, And I thought, I am just
- 50:29stunned. I thought you froze. I was like, okay, I was
- 50:34like, I thought you frozen. I was like, oh, Dan's computer
- 50:36got it. That's what happened. Yeah, So people would come from Austin,
- 50:40and I know for fact this happened to a couple of people that come.
- 50:45You know, it's like telephone friends of a friend of a friend.
- 50:47So but they would come down and party and and have a good time over
- 50:51the weekend and float the river and meet chicks, and you know, they'd
- 50:54go back to ut or A and M wherever they were going, and you
- 51:00know, things, things weren't weren't going that well down south, like a
- 51:04little burning when you pete and they'd go to there, they'd go to their
- 51:07student medical center and they'd be like, well, uh, you got you
- 51:12got chlamydia. But it's Southwest Texically, you gotta either we gotta get the
- 51:15I don't know if it's the antidote. I don't know how it works,
- 51:19but uh, it's like, uh, it's sort of like is it sort
- 51:22of like anti vennon, Like you have to like go to the source.
- 51:24Yeah, I think yeah, So you had to go to the school,
- 51:29you had to go to the Southwest Medical Center there and get your whatever protocol
- 51:34was for that strand of committia. So not only did Southwest Texas have its
- 51:38own strain of chlamydia, yes, but it also had the franchise. It
- 51:44also had the monopoly of the cure for it. Yes. Because we thought,
- 51:51well, we thought we would just keep it in the house. We
- 51:55weren't expecting it to go rogue, Like, we weren't expecting it to head
- 52:01over to twenty six miles up north to Austin. We've been clearly they didn't
- 52:06go to the Buffalo Club on Sunday night. Oh yeah, yeah, that
- 52:09was I probably that's the weird thing. I probably ran into you there if
- 52:14you we used to go. We it was a caravan. It was just
- 52:16like, uh, like a bunch of mine. That's what you could call
- 52:22that distance between between Southwest and the Highway, the Clamdia caravan. It was
- 52:30just all the strippers from the Yellow Rose and then uh then right behind them
- 52:35was just us and we'd all get and we'd all get to the Buffalo Club
- 52:38and in downtown Austin and I'll look at each other like you're here too,
- 52:43Like we we drove together, Like what are you talking about? Yeah,
- 52:47but I did. I did run into a few times. We ran into
- 52:52Sandra Bullock and her sister out there. They used to come. It was
- 52:55service industry night on it was service industry night on Sundays, so, uh,
- 53:00the service industry. We would bring the girls that would service the industry.
- 53:07Would it be weird if you look at the table next to you and
- 53:10it's the Southwest Texas doctor just just just filling up syringes like you're gonna need
- 53:17me in about three days. He's just he just handed out business cards.
- 53:21There you go, just just pulls open his appointment book is like you want
- 53:27to just make one how Today's age. It really be funny if you just
- 53:35some doctor put one of those video boards that they put above a urinal just
- 53:38looking down going does it burn? Have you been to Southwest Texas State recently?
- 53:49I think it's pretty amazing that even in the test, that the test
- 53:52would come back not just positive for chlamydia, but for the specific strain from
- 53:57Southwest. Trust trust me, it's that was gonna be one of the only
- 54:01tests somebody passed. Trust me, it's one of the only tests killings.
- 54:12You know what. I just looked out the window and saw a horse.
