Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Firecracker, firecracker.
- 0:12Boom boom boom. Welcome to what your least
- 0:15favorite scary movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:18the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd and all of our
- 0:20favorites and least favorite scary movies.
- 0:22Because we believe every horror movie rifely has its fan base.
- 0:25Even if we don't always get it, My name is Travis, my name is
- 0:27Jesse, and welcome back to another live, unedited and
- 0:32mostly undrawn episode of To Be or Not To Be, our monthly bonus
- 0:36series where we find the indiest of the Indies on free streaming
- 0:40platforms. So with that being said, I was
- 0:45very, we've been, we've been going through the Bring It On
- 0:48movies, admittedly because two reasons.
- 0:53One, 'cause I had to watch Cheer Die when we were when it was
- 0:56available, right? Yeah.
- 0:58And also because we found a three pack of the first three at
- 1:02Half Price Books. Yeah, Half Price Books.
- 1:03So we've watched the 1st 2:00 so far.
- 1:05Travis is very excited because I told him Hayden Payne is here is
- 1:08in the next one. So all that being said, we're
- 1:10watching the cheerleader sleepover slaughter.
- 1:13That was what I was in the mood for and it was a nice slick hour
- 1:17and 2 minutes. And guess what?
- 1:19It did take full use of that and I'm so excited to talk about it.
- 1:22Yeah, this is a this is a movie that really, really tried his
- 1:26hardest to be as long as it could, and it really didn't
- 1:29really do. You know what though?
- 1:31We talk all the time about how a movie doesn't have to be any
- 1:34longer than necessary. And I think this movie is only
- 1:38as long as it is is because the people were having fun with it.
- 1:40And that comes through in a way that I really enjoy.
- 1:44Yeah, no, it's fine. Like, you know, whatever, we'll
- 1:46we'll get into it here in just a.
- 1:48Second, yeah, we'll go ahead and get into it.
- 1:49First, I got a little bit of background information.
- 1:51Not as much of A dive as we normally do on like our regular
- 1:54episodes, but you know, we do want to give it some of its
- 1:56flowers while we're here. So the Cheerleader Sleepover
- 1:59Slaughter came out January 1st, 2022.
- 2:03We had a debate last night if this was 22 or 21.
- 2:06I tried this, like it says 22 right here on the screen.
- 2:08I was like, OK, And then I looked this up this morning,
- 2:11just barely. What was the date again?
- 2:13January 1st. Oh shit.
- 2:15OK, Yeah. We watched this one on Tubi.
- 2:21Written and directed by Christopher Leto.
- 2:23Music by Tanner Tanner Hand I had to check my handwriting
- 2:29'cause I was like, did I actually?
- 2:30Say, it's not really that difficult of a name to say.
- 2:32No, I I wasn't sure that I wrote it correctly.
- 2:35Special effects makeup by Carl Huber and Picardo Limbo starring
- 2:39Taylor Heard as Lori, Indica, Jane as Lisa, Sydney Spalding as
- 2:44Renee, Bo Leto as Bo, and Jaden Leto as Jason.
- 2:49So we got, I'm assuming Leto brothers working on this.
- 2:53Yeah, I think it's a whole like family situation.
- 2:56This seems like a family type. Movie.
- 2:58You know what I mean? Everything about this seems like
- 3:00it was very tight knit. I guess there's a word for it.
- 3:05Yeah. I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 3:08I mean it just seems like a small non crew.
- 3:12Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you like a lot of these
- 3:14people only have this or have this and one other like acting
- 3:18credit to their name that makes sense.
- 3:20So. I actually believe it or not.
- 3:22OK, first of all, time for our favorite game.
- 3:25Budget and you said you have a budget.
- 3:28I do 4.5000. You can get, let me guess, I
- 3:32mean I we all know the answer to this.
- 3:34Sorry, I was really excited cause normally I can't find
- 3:37budgets for these. Yeah, sorry I I took away the
- 3:40fund for you. It's OK, Yeah.
- 3:42I mean, this obviously isn't gonna be $10 million.
- 3:45This is probably not even 10,000, right?
- 3:47Right. What was it again?
- 3:494.5. 4.5000 Yep man, where did the money go?
- 3:56I'm assuming it's a lot of like space rental.
- 3:58Probably. That's probably all it's got to
- 4:00be like, unless it's, well, yeah, they had to rent the
- 4:04field. They had to rent the field, the
- 4:06school and the. Restroom.
- 4:09Well, the school. Oh, and the restaurant, yeah,
- 4:11yeah, I guess I, I don't know if they would rent the restaurant,
- 4:14they would maybe just have that be a favor.
- 4:16Well, I mean, they, they might have been like a favor and then,
- 4:19you know, offered compensation. Plus they probably had to have
- 4:22like some sort of insurance to do this stuff.
- 4:24Yeah, probably. I wonder you can go for like
- 4:26gorilla filmmaking and just, you know, do this shit without
- 4:30getting permission. Well, we're gonna talk about the
- 4:32cafe here in a minute. Oh, OK, 'cause I I kind of went
- 4:36on a a little side quest 'cause I got curious about it last
- 4:40night. OK, Should we give like a
- 4:43summary of what this movie is? Well, we're not there yet.
- 4:45Well, we're never at a summary, that's never part of the thing,
- 4:48but I feel like we maybe it would benefit.
- 4:50People, can I get through my sheet first?
- 4:52OK. Yeah, go ahead.
- 4:53OK. I just, I don't wanna lose the
- 4:54flow of what we're doing. Yeah, sure, go.
- 4:57It has a three-point O out of 10 on IMDb.
- 5:00That's kind of generous. OK, I pulled 3 movies from 2022
- 5:06and these aren't even fair comparisons because 20/22 was
- 5:09fucking stacked. But I did wanna come up with a
- 5:14theme, and the theme was fuck them kids.
- 5:17Fuck them. Kids which is movies where
- 5:19generally the killer was targeting kids since these are
- 5:21high schoolers in this movie. OK, Yeah.
- 5:24OK, the first one is Thanksgiving.
- 5:26Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
- 5:29Was released November 17th, 2023.
- 5:32A budget of 15,000,000 and a worldwide gross of 146.
- 5:35No, that's just 46,000,000. Wait.
- 5:37Hold on 2023, this isn't even the same year.
- 5:42Oh my God did I type in 23 in my Google search?
- 5:45You must have cause Thanksgiving was last year.
- 5:48OK. Well, we're doing 2023
- 5:49comparisons because that's what I have there.
- 5:51That's OK. You know what?
- 5:53What? We're capturing the Spirit.
- 5:55That's what we're going for here.
- 5:56My bad. They weren't gonna, they weren't
- 5:58gonna be good comparisons anyway because this is like ultra
- 6:00indie. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:01I mean, you could probably, if you really, really wanted to do
- 6:04a deep dive, find some micro budget horror movies that are
- 6:06probably fuck them kids. But yeah, it's gonna be kind of
- 6:09tough. It's gonna take some time, Yeah.
- 6:11OK, well we'll we'll just go along with this and IMDb score
- 6:166.3 out of 10. That's probably gonna be this
- 6:20month's or Not month, this year's Thanksgiving movie.
- 6:22Probably the second movie is Knock at the Cabin, which I
- 6:26guess is more fuck them kid rather than fuck them kids.
- 6:29I don't know anything. I don't know anything besides on
- 6:31the trailer where Dave Batista says kill your baby or the world
- 6:35explodes. And fuck that kid.
- 6:37Yeah. That kid in particular.
- 6:38Yeah, this. This kid specifically.
- 6:41Yeah, I I really, really wanna watch that movie.
- 6:44Remember, we're doing a Shyamalan double feature.
- 6:46Well, we said we were gonna do that.
- 6:48We never actually committed to. It I'm just saying when you
- 6:50watch that we're also watching old.
- 6:52Yeah, see, that's the, that's what's keeping me like hesitant
- 6:55because. Well, that's what's keeping me
- 6:57hesitant because I want to watch old, but I don't want to watch
- 6:59Knock at the Cabin. Old just seems so not good.
- 7:03But you know what does seem good?
- 7:05The new may be coming out trap. That does seem interesting.
- 7:09I'll, I'll give it. I'll give it a shot.
- 7:11OK anyway, Knock at the Cabin came out February 3rd 2023
- 7:16because I'm bad at numbers. 20 million Budget and a worldwide
- 7:21gross of 54,000,000 and an. IMDb 54 million.
- 7:25And an IMDb scores 6.1 out of 10.
- 7:28Jesus. And then finally, Evil Dead
- 7:31rise. That was a small budget one for.
- 7:34Sure, I remember mother daddy, it says.
- 7:37Fuck these kids especially. Fuck my kids.
- 7:40Yeah, fuck my kids. Yeah, fuck these kids so bad.
- 7:43Yeah, that released April 21st, 2023 budget of 12 million, so
- 7:50pretty happy for them for that. That was a great.
- 7:52One worldwide grows of 147 million.
- 7:55Yeah, I I like that movie a lot. That was a that was a fun one.
- 7:58I remember because that one was going to be like straight to
- 8:01streaming. And then they like blew it up to
- 8:03be a theater because it was like, this is too good to go
- 8:05straight to streaming. Yeah, and we went and saw it in
- 8:07theater and it was it was a good time.
- 8:08I respect it. IMDb score of 6.5 out of 10.
- 8:12Nice. Yeah, really high.
- 8:15I have A tag line. Yeah, All right.
- 8:18Just one. Just one OK, they didn't have
- 8:20the budget for more. Come on.
- 8:23Blood blades and pom poms. Sure, it's that's OK.
- 8:31Yeah. OK.
- 8:31So now I guess we can give a little mini summary before I
- 8:34give. I actually have a couple fun
- 8:35facts for this one. We don't have to give a summary.
- 8:38It's fine. I just thought like, you know,
- 8:40it would be good, especially with to be or not to be movies
- 8:42because we generally pick movies that are like not really known.
- 8:46So like, I feel like it's kind of good to give like a little
- 8:49summary of what it is exactly we're talking about.
- 8:52So we have a seven person cheerleading squad that doesn't
- 8:55have room for another member and she really wants to be on it and
- 9:00this is her last chance because she's a senior.
- 9:03Somebody starts killing the cheerleaders and their annual
- 9:06sleepover is in danger because one of the ones that's killed
- 9:10was supposed to be hosting the sleepover.
- 9:12So the girl that wants to be a cheerleader has them over at
- 9:15their house and people just keep dying.
- 9:17Also, they're high schoolers. The other high schoolers, but
- 9:21they are like 35. Also, they cheer at soccer
- 9:24games. I don't even think that there's
- 9:27a game going on. There's not a game going on.
- 9:30They just cheer out in an empty field with nobody around so.
- 9:34Yeah, that's a brief summary of this.
- 9:36This was filmed in Newport Richey, Florida.
- 9:40This Phil's. Florida.
- 9:41So this is a Florida maybe. Christopher Leto also Co
- 9:46directed a movie in 2023 with Shaun Donahue called Die Die
- 9:51Delta Pi. And if you'll remember, Lisa's
- 9:54wearing a Delta Pi shirt at the sleepover and that's Lori's
- 9:59whole back story revealed at the very end.
- 10:01So this is meant to be kind of like a spiritual sequel to the
- 10:05movie, really. Yeah, Die Die Delta Pi is a
- 10:07really cool name for him. Horror movie.
- 10:08Yeah, and I'm kind of curious about it.
- 10:11Christopher Leto's actually done a ton of work.
- 10:14Really. So much?
- 10:15Any in relation to Jared? No, I'm sure there's no way
- 10:20there's. Anything.
- 10:21It'd be kind of a jerk move for Jared Leto not to like help out
- 10:25with this, but also that seems kind of fun Branch.
- 10:27I I would not if if my brother was Jared Leto, I would not
- 10:32expect him to ever be there for me.
- 10:34Yeah, I would also like not tout the fact that we're brothers,
- 10:37but I'd probably keep the Leto name 'cause I'd be like a lot of
- 10:40people wonder. Yeah, OK.
- 10:45Wild Iris Cafe in Dunedin, FL It's a real place.
- 10:51I got curious 'cause I saw the sun and I was like, 'cause I at
- 10:54first when you see the inside of it, it looks like somebody's
- 10:56actual kitchen. And then we see the outside and
- 10:58it's like an actual restaurant. It's got a sign and everything.
- 11:01So I got curious if it was real. It is real, yeah.
- 11:03I don't think that this movie had the budget to do a fake
- 11:05sign. It's got decent reviews on
- 11:09Google. It's got a 4.6 out of five
- 11:12overall. OK, Google reviewers say.
- 11:15Check it out. What kind of restaurant is it?
- 11:17It is like a brunch type place they there's breakfast and lunch
- 11:20so think like Stella's for. Us.
- 11:22But you know, when we were watching this movie, it reminded
- 11:25me of that place. Yeah, so that's, I, I think
- 11:27that's an app comparison. I checked out the menu because I
- 11:30was curious. So I just want to read some of
- 11:33the some of the menu options that we have.
- 11:37We've got something called chicken salad stuffed
- 11:40cantaloupe. Chicken salad stuffed
- 11:43cantaloupe? That sounds disgusting.
- 11:45Yep, it's a homemade house salad served in a It's a oh God house
- 11:51made with a touch of sweetness, served with macaroni salad and
- 11:54muffin of the day. That sounds nasty.
- 11:57That doesn't sound good at all. They also have a quinoa salad.
- 12:00They have an Impossible burger fully vegan which I'm impressed
- 12:06both in general and because of Florida.
- 12:09Yeah, that's true. You know what?
- 12:11I'm sure there's some good eggs down there.
- 12:13And they've got a sandwich called the Fungi, which is
- 12:16sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, goat cheese, and garlic
- 12:19aioli on grilled sourdough. I would get that without the
- 12:23cheese and aioli. Man, I'm I'm not feeling this
- 12:26restaurant. This isn't for me.
- 12:27Well, they've got like other menu stuff.
- 12:29I just took a screenshot of the more interesting page.
- 12:32OK, and then because I love the insanity of reviews, especially
- 12:38reviews about restaurants. And you know how we talk about
- 12:41fart smelly movies? Yeah, they smell their own farts
- 12:45like they are really high on their self.
- 12:47This is a fart smelly reviewer. OK.
- 12:49I just want to read part of it. I've reviewed well over 1500
- 12:52restaurants, from the newest awarded 3 Michelin star
- 12:55restaurant, only 13 in the US to diners listed with Google as the
- 12:58top 10% restaurant reviewer. This is how they start their
- 13:02reviews. This is probably how they like
- 13:04open like they they lead off with us when they walk inside of
- 13:07a restaurant. Patrick Bateman business card
- 13:09with this. Yeah, like, it's extremely rare
- 13:13for me to submit a review without visiting three times as
- 13:16a chef, knowing that there may be a day of inconsistency.
- 13:20The food that I ordered and service had so many things
- 13:22wrong. I'll never return to Wild Iris
- 13:24Cafe again, particularly since the server told us the owner was
- 13:27there. What?
- 13:31Wild Iris is an adorable tiny place inside.
- 13:34Outside is a draw for the diners sitting under the oaks, however.
- 13:37Cheap tables and chairs with two ply napkins giving Wild Iris two
- 13:41stars. One for seating under the oaks,
- 13:43one for slicing the lemons into generous 1 inch slices that you
- 13:46can actually squeeze. Finding that most restaurants
- 13:49have to cut down on the slices of lemons and limes.
- 13:51This person, And I'm not like pausing at weird places.
- 13:54This is where they're actually starting and stopping their
- 13:56sentences. No.
- 13:58That's how it reads, or that's how it hears.
- 14:02A great test of a cook versus a chef is the knowledge of cooking
- 14:04a well pouched egg. Explaining a well pouch being
- 14:07slightly runny as explained to the server when I ordered.
- 14:11When she served my food prior to me even cutting into the eggs,
- 14:14she commented that they look great.
- 14:16I responded with I'll let you know as I'm also sitting with an
- 14:19empty glass of iced tea. Iced tea?
- 14:21This person sounds fucking insufferable.
- 14:23I don't like this guy. I don't like this guy.
- 14:24Where this restaurant? This goes trash.
- 14:26This goes on for. So long.
- 14:29I'm not gonna read the whole thing, but I just wanted to read
- 14:32the insanity because usually when I get I read a review like
- 14:35this. The restaurant itself is
- 14:37amazing. So wild Iris.
- 14:40If I'm ever in that part of Florida, we're going to check it
- 14:42out. All right, if you, if anybody
- 14:44listening is from Ford to give it a shot or from that area at
- 14:47least 'cause I know Ford is kind of a bigger state.
- 14:49Yeah, this just goes on and on and on.
- 14:50And like, seriously, that was the only negative review I could
- 14:53find. Everything else was positive.
- 14:54Everybody really liked it. Yeah, it's amazing.
- 14:56I was gonna show. They also said that they would
- 14:58not recommend for vegetarians, which is insane because it's
- 15:03brunch and that's one of the easiest things to make
- 15:06vegetarian without actually being vegetarian.
- 15:09It could be easy, but that doesn't mean that they're going
- 15:10to accommodate it, you know what I mean?
- 15:12No, but I mean like if you serve eggs, boom, that's vegetarian.
- 15:16Oh yeah, I guess I'm so used to you being vegan that I'm.
- 15:20Kind of cross. You've forgotten how easy it was
- 15:23back in the day. Yeah.
- 15:25So yeah, that's that's my little detour into Wild Iris and people
- 15:29being up their own butts on Google reviews.
- 15:32Well, I'm glad we talked more about this restaurant than we
- 15:34probably will about this entire movie, because this restaurant
- 15:38barely like is even the factor in this movie.
- 15:41Yeah, I think it's a 3 minute scene.
- 15:43Yeah, which is admittedly a large percentage of this movie.
- 15:47I can see that you focused your deep dive entirely on this
- 15:50restaurant to the point where you didn't even realize you were
- 15:53looking up 2023 movies. You're more focused on, like I
- 15:56got to get the perfect review for this restaurant.
- 15:58We got to go into detail about this restaurant, the menu of
- 16:00this restaurant, this. Is actually kind of what
- 16:03happened because I got all the information on the restaurant
- 16:051st. OK, I mean, it's clear.
- 16:08Yeah, yeah, I know where your priorities were.
- 16:12Yeah. OK.
- 16:12So yeah, this is a really weird movie.
- 16:14This is a really low budget movie.
- 16:16This is a this is probably what I would describe as like, I mean
- 16:21by definition, but also by looks a very micro budget movie.
- 16:25Yeah, there's like there's not a lot of meat on the bones with
- 16:29this thing here. We we we got to have fun little
- 16:32premise and they they do the best that they can with it.
- 16:36But you can tell that this is just a bunch of people just
- 16:40having fun with the camera and they happen to get their movie
- 16:42on TV. Yeah, so let's go into all of
- 16:46this a little bit more specifically, what did you like
- 16:48about the movie? What's your good?
- 16:50I I like that they weaned into the premise of it.
- 16:53They like they knew what they were doing with the name, so
- 16:56they know that it's gonna be like one of those low budget
- 16:58sleazy slashers. It gives me that feel of
- 17:02something that you could just throw on and just kind of enjoy
- 17:10it for what it is. Yeah, you can understand, like,
- 17:14I'm not going to be watching top tier cinema today.
- 17:17I'm going to be watching some bottom of the barrel trash.
- 17:19It's an easy way to spend an hour.
- 17:21It really is. I won't say that I was ever
- 17:25bored with it. I will say that, and that is one
- 17:29of the worst things that you can do with a movie is be boring.
- 17:32And they didn't they, they didn't make a boring movie.
- 17:34They made it pretty entertaining.
- 17:36I think the way that they did that they're like, I feel like
- 17:39they panicked and they're like, what do we do?
- 17:41Twerk session? It's just like 5 minute twerk
- 17:45sessions. Twice 2.
- 17:47Times. I was going to say one of my
- 17:49goods is double extended twerking montage.
- 17:53I just, it's like they panicked and like what the fuck do we do?
- 17:56We need 5 minutes and the girls are like whoa.
- 17:58I mean, we've been like, we can twerk for a little bit and like
- 18:02the weather was like, boom. Sydney was like, I was an actual
- 18:05cheerleader. Do you want me to do some
- 18:07aerials and walkovers? And he was like one time.
- 18:11One but like in the background like get the butts and the.
- 18:14Twerking soccer field. Yeah, come on.
- 18:16We really need to get the twerking in frame here.
- 18:19That's, you know what I mean. It's been a while since we've
- 18:22been in high school. Is that what cheerleaders are
- 18:24doing today? I don't know.
- 18:27It could be. It could be the new routine.
- 18:29You never know. We haven't seen the latest Bring
- 18:31It On except for well, we have, but it was focused more on the
- 18:34killing instead of the actual cheering like most of the other
- 18:37Bring It On movies. So I mean, that's pretty much
- 18:40all I can say good about this thing.
- 18:42Like it's fun, it's fun, stupid cheesy shit.
- 18:45It's shit. Like I'm not going to like
- 18:47Sugarcoat. It's not the greatest movie
- 18:49ever, but I I can still find the good in it.
- 18:54I think it's fun. It doesn't take it so seriously
- 18:57and it looks like they were all having a good time and I think
- 19:01it's great when that comes through on screen because having
- 19:05that kind of like a chemistry is a good time.
- 19:07I agree and I don't want this. Really creepy, too.
- 19:11Yeah, it's creepy. Like it's clearly like the
- 19:14casted face 'cause like I like it.
- 19:16It's a creepy. Premise let me at least just say
- 19:19I don't want to like just straight up shit on a movie
- 19:21because I've never made a movie and I know that they're really
- 19:23tough to make so I don't want it to sound like I'm shitting on
- 19:26this thing, but like I'm. I'm trying to speak from like an
- 19:30objective point of view with this thing here too.
- 19:33I just wanted to be queer because like, I know people
- 19:35worked really hard and they probably had a lot of fun and,
- 19:37you know, I don't want to take away from that.
- 19:39But yeah, it just for for real though, it's just it's not like
- 19:44a great movie. OK, well, we're still going
- 19:47through all of our points on it, so we have more room to talk
- 19:50about it. I just wanted.
- 19:51That because I had just said it was bad.
- 19:54I just wanted to like at least clarify.
- 19:56OK, well then do you want to go into your bed?
- 19:59Sure, yeah. Is this weird?
- 20:01No, I just. You're you're, you're giving me
- 20:03a like a you're giving me a talking to like I I'm going out
- 20:07of line here. No, I just like, I feel like
- 20:10you're getting caught up on on the things you didn't like and
- 20:13we're supposed to take a second to focus on the things we did
- 20:16like. I did.
- 20:17No, no, that's what I was. I was just talking about with
- 20:19the things that I did like I was just trying to like, you know,
- 20:21whatever, you know what that is my bad.
- 20:23Then we'll we'll move past it. I've I've said my bad.
- 20:26OK, OK. You say you're bad.
- 20:29Some of the dialogue doesn't feel natural to me, OK?
- 20:33It doesn't feel like they didn't really practice saying it out
- 20:39loud while they were writing it. Maybe.
- 20:41OK, you know, yeah, it's a little bit off.
- 20:44That's that. And then also like the the
- 20:47awkward scene cuts where they just go black for a second and
- 20:50then come back. Yeah, they don't really do good
- 20:52transitions. I'm not a big fan of those kinds
- 20:54of transitions. Generally I it, it kept,
- 20:57especially when you're watching it on a free streaming service
- 21:00like TV or something like that, because that's usually when
- 21:02they're going to commercial. Yeah.
- 21:04So that kept throwing me off. So those are probably two of my
- 21:08biggest criticisms with it. Let me add one more thing.
- 21:12I felt like the ending was super rushed.
- 21:15I OK I agree that the ending was super rushed but also we thought
- 21:22it ended at one point before it did and I think I would have
- 21:26loved it a little more if it had.
- 21:27I think I would have too. Yeah.
- 21:29I think it would have been hilarious if they ended it the
- 21:30way that we thought because, I mean, it did the thing that you
- 21:32were talking about. It caught hard to black and it
- 21:34stayed black for like. A long longer than the other
- 21:37transitions and we like had a moment where we were looking at
- 21:40something like, Oh my God, please tell me this is where it
- 21:42is because it would have just been hilariously awkward ending.
- 21:47Yeah, but yeah. OK.
- 21:49What is your ugly? I hate like the exclusive
- 21:54quickie bullshit that is the main theme of this movie here
- 21:58where they get the group of cheerleaders and they're not
- 22:00really accepting of new people wanting to be a part of their
- 22:03crew. Like I get like, you know,
- 22:05having your tight knit group of friends and wanting to keep it
- 22:08like that. But this is a cheerleading team
- 22:09and they only have seven people. And you, I'm pretty sure you
- 22:13need more than seven people, six at a certain point in this movie
- 22:18to be able to fill like a legit cheerleading team.
- 22:21I could be wrong but I feel like you need more in that maybe?
- 22:24They're like A1A school. Well, I came from, like, the
- 22:29tiniest of tiny schools for the graduating class of like, 50,
- 22:34some people. And we had cheerleader squads
- 22:37that are like, at least 20 people, OK.
- 22:40So yeah, I think it's still feasible for it to be like a
- 22:43decent fielded team. You OK?
- 22:48My ugly is probably they call him in the credits.
- 22:55I almost included him in the star because I thought it was
- 22:57funny. The peeping guy.
- 23:00Oh yeah. He's credited as creepy pee pee
- 23:03pee pee pee pee pee. Oh, I like that name.
- 23:07He is creepy pee pee Yeah that is just it's that's
- 23:10uncomfortable. I and like we've talked about
- 23:12this because we've covered all of the slumber party massacre
- 23:15movies like EW, like just let, let people have their time to do
- 23:23whatever they wanna do without creeping on them like that,
- 23:25especially like without them knowing like it's just.
- 23:29Creepy Pee Pee's probably also the worst red herring in a
- 23:33horror movie ever. Because never did I ever believe
- 23:36that he was the guy going around killing people.
- 23:39He did not match the frame whatsoever.
- 23:41I feel like the killer probably only killed him incidentally
- 23:44'cause he was like, yeah, like, well this is gross.
- 23:48Yeah, he kind of had it common. He's been pee, pee, pee, pee.
- 23:52OK, absurd. Not only do we have like the
- 23:57tortic sessions, but we also have like an extended handheld
- 24:00rap, like handheld camera wrap phone session where they're like
- 24:05driving the car and they like turn up the music and then they
- 24:07all start lip syncing and like singing along to this rap song.
- 24:10I like the sound, them having fun while they were shooting.
- 24:13Oh, that's totally what it. Was they decided to include it?
- 24:16But like, yeah, I, I don't think that they decide.
- 24:20I think that they needed to include it because they needed
- 24:22some extra minutes to qualify this thing for like feature
- 24:25length. So it's just yeah, seven person
- 24:30cheer squad is another one. I mean, it was way too few
- 24:33people. I already said that.
- 24:34And then the twerk sessions, like what the fuck?
- 24:37This movie? Like I don't think that they
- 24:39really understand, you know, it's not important, but they
- 24:44they don't understand cheerleading.
- 24:46I really don't think. I and this is not their fault,
- 24:52this is just how casting goes with an indie film.
- 24:55I was gobsmacked when I realized that this they were meant to be
- 24:59high schoolers. They were nothing like.
- 25:02High schoolers, they don't look like high schoolers.
- 25:04The main girl. And I don't mean that in a bad
- 25:06way. Like it's hard to look 18 when
- 25:09you're not 18. I don't.
- 25:10Know yeah I'm not trying to be harsh either but like especially
- 25:13Lisa the main one like she looked like she was like mid 30s
- 25:18maybe. Yeah.
- 25:19And I mean yes. And I mean, I like, and I don't,
- 25:22I'm not judgmental about it at all.
- 25:25I get how this stuff goes but it it it it like I feel like if
- 25:31they just said it was college. That's what I'm saying.
- 25:34Colleges have cheerleading teams.
- 25:36Yeah. I mean Community College if you
- 25:38wanted to keep it like. Smaller then, it also makes the
- 25:41Delta Pi shirt that Lisa's wearing later make a little bit
- 25:44more sense. Yeah, yeah, it really does.
- 25:46Yeah. So, and then also cheering at a
- 25:49soccer game, 'cause I keep saying it's the first game of
- 25:52the season, you're fully expecting it to be football and
- 25:55then you see the soccer goals behind them.
- 25:58I seriously though, think that they were meaning for it to be a
- 26:05football game. Oh, that's that's the energy
- 26:09that they were having. Yeah, they just only had a
- 26:12shooting location for the soccer field.
- 26:14And the great thing about it is on this soccer field, that's
- 26:18where they shoot this, and that's where they shoot the
- 26:20ending. It's hilarious that they have,
- 26:22like, you see cars just driving around in the background and
- 26:24shit like that. Like people are obviously
- 26:27witnessing murders if this is actually happening, but like,
- 26:31OK, we just have to ignore it. So I'm thinking what happened,
- 26:34sorry if that sound was terrible for people listening in earbuds.
- 26:39I'm thinking what happened is that they were at a public park,
- 26:42and public parks generally don't have football fields, but they
- 26:44do often have like soccer fields.
- 26:46Well. If it's a public park, they
- 26:47probably didn't have to rent it. Yeah, but that's that's my
- 26:51suspicion of what happened for for those exterior shots.
- 26:56I think that they couldn't afford the football field.
- 26:58I think that they could only afford the soccer field.
- 27:01Yeah, It's just because even if it's a soccer field, like they
- 27:04wouldn't be cheering right in the middle of like the field,
- 27:08like they're in between the goals.
- 27:09You know what I mean? It would have.
- 27:10Been fun would have been like if they made a comment about like
- 27:14what school cheers at a soccer game and somebody else feel like
- 27:18the school that only has seven people on its cheer squad.
- 27:21Dude, yeah. Definitely lean into it.
- 27:23They knew. I think that would have been
- 27:24fun. I think that they that would
- 27:26have really done wonders for this movie if they really just
- 27:28leaned into like, hey, they acknowledge how cheap everything
- 27:32is and how it's not exactly right, but they're like, hey,
- 27:34this is what we're doing. They're not like they're not
- 27:37trying to push anything on us. I think they're people.
- 27:39They're happy they made a movie. No.
- 27:41Yeah, have a good time with it and yeah.
- 27:43Yeah, but hey man, it's hard not to look at it from a critical
- 27:46point of. View, Yeah, definitely.
- 27:47I mean that's what we're here for.
- 27:49So, OK, so overall, what are you rating at?
- 27:54I'd say the IMDb is kind of right on the money with the
- 27:57three. OK, yeah, I mean, it's fun.
- 27:59Like 3 points for fun, zero points for like actual movie,
- 28:03you know what I mean? I'm giving it a 555.
- 28:07I feel like it's a solid 5. Like it's fun, it's inoffensive.
- 28:10Like it's just like we're gonna get straight to it.
- 28:14We're not gonna beat around the Bush.
- 28:16Here's what we got. OK, OK, let's get ready to get

- 29:00Nobody does. We know.
- 29:01I don't have balls and I don't wanna Nick.
- 29:04Every dude gets to heebie jeebies when it's time for a
- 29:06close shave down under, especially when using the wrong
- 29:08tools. That's precisely why I may
- 29:10escape this. My go to for those delicate

- 29:32This thing is waterproof, so you can take it in the shower, get
- 29:35yourself cleaned up, clean up the aftermath.
- 29:38Clean up the razor itself also, and even if you don't use it in
- 29:41the shower, honestly I've found that I don't see the trimmings
- 29:45around the bathroom nearly as much as I do with your other
- 29:47razors. It's true it it's it creates
- 29:50less of a mess in general. Also I feel like, correct me if
- 29:54I'm wrong, I feel like you're shaving more now that it's.
- 29:56I kind of AM. Yeah, like.
- 29:59I mean, it's, it's like giving me a nice little shave.
- 30:01You know what I mean? Yeah, I, I really enjoy.
- 30:04I use it on my face. I use it, you know, everywhere
- 30:06else. I need to.
- 30:08We don't have to go into the details of all of that.
- 30:10I also like to appreciate the compact case that this thing
- 30:14has, because we can store it under the sink nice and neat.
- 30:17We have a teeny tiny bathroom and it's nice to know that we
- 30:19don't have to worry about the shaver, the charger and all the
- 30:24accessories that come with it. We don't have to worry about
- 30:26losing those because they come and the nice little shed compact
- 30:29case and even cooler is that the blade guards.
- 30:32If you're trimming your face, you just want to take a little
- 30:35off the top. You've got different options
- 30:37with it. So it's like basically a three
- 30:38in one. You can just.
- 30:40On the fly of the guards, you don't have to like, stop, turn
- 30:43it off, put the new one on. No, you just slide that bad boy
- 30:46down. Yeah, you're.
- 30:47Good to go. Yeah.
- 30:48You click it up, click it down and it gives you a bunch of
- 30:50different options with a single guard.
- 30:51It's it's really, really convenient.
- 30:53So trust us, this trimmer will be your crown jewels new best
- 30:56buddy. So get 20% off plus free

- 31:05fave20@manscape.com. Show your ball some love and
- 31:08feel free as a dove. Okay, so we start off.
- 31:14Here's the thing. This movie has apparently heard
- 31:18all of our criticisms over the years of please find an organic
- 31:21way to introduce your characters, and it did it twice
- 31:25and we were so unprepared for. It too soon, too fast like first
- 31:30frame of the movie is them just going all right roll.
- 31:33Call yeah. Lisa Summer, Ali, Renee Kelly,
- 31:38Brandy, Kayla, Marcy and that's it.
- 31:43And then it's like, OK, now you like one of the names fast,
- 31:45because here's the face, here's the name real quick.
- 31:47And that's all you're going to get for the rest of the movie.
- 31:49Yeah, yeah, it was a. Cause like, I mean, even at the
- 31:52end of the movie I was like who the fuck is who?
- 31:53And like we were kind of, we were at a point where you were
- 31:55marking off names like OK, like the only ones who left is this
- 31:58name. So it's gotta be her.
- 32:00Yeah, it just, it happened so fast and we just weren't
- 32:02prepared for it. And then it's going to happen
- 32:04again here in a second in a way that I also was not prepared
- 32:08for. But we say it all that I can't
- 32:11be mad at them for doing the thing we asked for.
- 32:14We just weren't ready. As audience they did, but they
- 32:17still just didn't drop in names throughout the rest of the
- 32:20movie. They did the name and then they
- 32:22did a kind of, but they never directly said the name.
- 32:25To they really basically only said it for Lisa and Lori.
- 32:28Yeah, Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 32:30Yeah, so there creepy pee pee is over there taking pictures.
- 32:35Creepy. Yeah, he gets yelling it though.
- 32:38Was it creepy pee pee or creeper?
- 32:39Peeper? It was something like that.
- 32:41I'm going with. Creepy.
- 32:43Pee pee pee is better. That's that's such a good name.
- 32:46Creepy pee pee. So at the end of practice, the
- 32:50coach is like, Ally, what's wrong with you?
- 32:53And Ally's like, sorry, I'll do better next time.
- 32:56She's like, OK, And the other girls are trying to be like,
- 33:00wow, but it isn't wrong with Allie.
- 33:02And one of them's like, her boyfriend is an asshole.
- 33:05And I'm like, OK, like maybe let's explore this a little bit.
- 33:10But we don't, because in the locker room, Allie gets killed.
- 33:13They just keep talking about like, yeah, her, her boyfriend
- 33:16sucks. She's like doing drugs and
- 33:18stuff. Did they say she's doing drugs
- 33:19or am I just like? I I don't remember that I
- 33:22didn't. Write doing drugs and alcohol.
- 33:24I don't know, like, yeah, they're, they're really just
- 33:26shit talking to her, Yeah. Lori approaches Lisa and Renee
- 33:30and she's like, can you talk to Coach Linda?
- 33:33Cuz I really wanna be a cheerleader.
- 33:34And she's like, we don't have any room on our squad Lie.
- 33:37Yeah, maybe next year. And she's like, but I'm a
- 33:41senior. She goes.
- 33:42Too bad, babe. So now they're discussing the
- 33:48sleepover. So the the main thing this movie
- 33:51has going for is they had this big sleepover that they were
- 33:53going to have with Ally, but they think Ally might be flaking
- 33:56on them because she's just got that asshole boyfriend of hers.
- 33:59Maybe drugs, we don't know yet, but maybe drugs involved.
- 34:02And we get a montage or not a montage.
- 34:05What is it? What's it?
- 34:07A nod? No, not a nod, an homage.
- 34:09That's the word I'm looking for. An homage to the original
- 34:12Slumber Party massacre. Because they're in a locker room
- 34:15and it's just shot after shot of T&A.
- 34:18Yeah, they they hit you with it like right up.
- 34:21Front. Yeah, they're like we we know.
- 34:23We know what we're doing. Yeah, we gotcha.
- 34:25Yeah. So let's see.
- 34:29Ali's. Ali's the only one that's left.
- 34:31Everybody else is gone, and while she's in the shower she
- 34:34gets her throat slashed. Yes, that's right.
- 34:37And then we cut to the credits. This is the most low budget.
- 34:41These are like, but these are like end credits.
- 34:43This is what you would expect to see at end credits 'cause it's
- 34:45like a yearbook and it's showing each of the cast members names
- 34:49with their character and they're like doing superlatives and
- 34:52stuff in there. And I really like it.
- 34:53I just wasn't expecting to see this at the beginning of the
- 34:56movie. I was expecting to see it at
- 34:58like the end. Yeah, it kind of makes I'd like
- 35:00to see this. It feels like it would make more
- 35:02sense for that, but I don't. I liked it.
- 35:04Like I like what they were going for.
- 35:05It was really cool. Like you're going through the
- 35:07yearbook. It's I mean, they're even more
- 35:09like listen crew and stuff. But I think really what they
- 35:11were trying to do is they were trying to buy a lot of time
- 35:14because this intro, like opening credits takes I'd say 5.
- 35:18Minutes. It would have taken just as long
- 35:20at the end too though. Yeah, but we're getting at the
- 35:23beginning, which kind of kills, you know, like when we front
- 35:28load it in the beginning, it always screams to me, oh, I
- 35:31needed time, you know what I mean?
- 35:34I'm gonna disagree with you on that because I think if you put
- 35:37something that's obviously like a time extender anywhere, it's
- 35:40obvious. I feel like it's more obvious in
- 35:43the beginning because if it's in the beginning then boy, they're
- 35:46really stretching for time. You can pad the credits anytime,
- 35:50but if you're having to pad the opening also, that's saying
- 35:53something. We catch the two dudes in a car
- 35:57and they're talking about sex and apparently one of the guys
- 35:59is just like, really hot. This guy, these guys have no
- 36:02chemistry. They.
- 36:03This is the most awkward conversation I've ever heard in
- 36:05my fucking life. And Beau, like, he's been with
- 36:09Renee forever and they haven't had sex yet.
- 36:11And I'm like, well, you guys are supposed to be high schoolers.
- 36:12It's not completely unreasonable.
- 36:14Yeah, panties on lockdown. It's what I have here.
- 36:18Buddies talking chicks. Panties on lockdown planning
- 36:21hanging time because like he's he's wanting to get more time
- 36:25with Renee she's not wanting to spend a lot of time because Lisa
- 36:28has been kind of really cannibalizing the time so he's.
- 36:32Like let's go crash their sleepover.
- 36:34Well, he's like, what? What do you think of Lisa?
- 36:36Because Lisa is Renee's like best friend and taking Lisa or
- 36:40Renee away from him. And he's like, he texts Renee
- 36:44about if what's this dude's name?
- 36:47What's the other dude? I only know Bo, I don't know the
- 36:50other. One OK other yeah, we'll call
- 36:53him guy. They they ask if he's like sexy
- 36:56or whatever to Renee and like, Lisa's into him.
- 36:58Whatever they're trying to like he's trying to hook something up
- 37:00between them there. Yeah, this like this whole thing
- 37:03though with him is just so uncomfortable.
- 37:06I it's just so bad. It's so fucking bad.
- 37:11Lori and her friend Jason are sitting on her bed and they're
- 37:15looking at photos saying wow, this is really messed up and
- 37:18like, we don't see what they're talking about and I thought we'd
- 37:20get a reveal later, 'cause it's setting.
- 37:22It's pretty obvious from the beginning that they're the
- 37:24killers and I. Didn't think so.
- 37:28Oh, I thought it was. No, I, I didn't like I, I had no
- 37:31idea who was gonna be. I thought it was gonna be.
- 37:34I thought at the end I thought it was gonna be the guy that's
- 37:37like, oh, I can get a date with anybody.
- 37:39No, I think that I thought that we were gonna see that they like
- 37:44looking at pictures of murders, and that's what they were doing.
- 37:47That's what I was expecting from this.
- 37:49I didn't even think of that. And he's like, why you wanna be
- 37:51a cheerleader anyway? And she's like, I just wanna be
- 37:53just shut up and be supportive. He's like, I'm gonna be
- 37:55supportive. I wouldn't go to the game
- 37:56tomorrow otherwise if I wasn't supportive.
- 38:01Then we cut to a group of the cheerleaders in the car.
- 38:05They're chatting. They're talking about the fact
- 38:09that nobody's heard from Allie, and they're like, well, Lori
- 38:12wants to be on the squad, What if we just swap her in for
- 38:15Allie? And then they sing into the
- 38:17camera. Lisa's really against it.
- 38:19Lisa hates Allie for whatever reason and.
- 38:22She shuts down Lori. Or yeah, Lori, she she hates her
- 38:25for whatever reason and shuts it down and then they just start
- 38:28rapping for 5 minutes again. Jason and Lori eat dinner with
- 38:35Lori's mom. This feels.
- 38:37Like an actual mom. This is somebody's real mom on
- 38:39the set. They're like, we need a mom.
- 38:40I wonder if it's Mama Leto. It's it's gotta be like if it's
- 38:44the Leto family movie like this, she obviously never acted.
- 38:48I don't think she ever really wanted the act.
- 38:51I think it feels to me like they took a camera and they just kind
- 38:54of pointed it there. And then they actually had
- 38:56dinner and she's like, what's the camera here?
- 38:57And like, don't worry, mom. Like so.
- 38:59Points for a realistic dining table.
- 39:01Yeah, I liked that. Can we also please talk about
- 39:05the salt and pepper shakers that are pig fucking?
- 39:08What? They're pigs and they're having
- 39:10sex. Are they really?
- 39:12Yeah. No, I didn't even notice that.
- 39:13Yeah. Oh shit.
- 39:15Yeah, like one of the pigs is like upright and it like nests
- 39:18into the other pig. That's hilarious.
- 39:21I can't believe you didn't notice that there's like nothing
- 39:23fancy on the table. That's what I like about the
- 39:25table is that it's very like normal but like that also makes
- 39:28it the centerpiece. That's hilarious.
- 39:30No, I didn't even catch that. No, it's a nice little like, you
- 39:33know what? Yeah.
- 39:34I I like that it's we get novelty salt and pepper shakers.
- 39:38You don't see that very often in movies.
- 39:40And as a person with a history of novelty salt and pepper
- 39:43shakers, I appreciate it. OK, so we get Renee and Lisa.
- 39:50They're hanging out. They're painting their nails.
- 39:52They're painting them toenails and apparently Renee sells feet
- 39:56pictures. She's she hints with Lisa.
- 39:59She's like, you know, you could make some money off those toes
- 40:01and she's like, that's weird. I, I was feeling the suit.
- 40:03I'm glad that Lisa actually said it.
- 40:05Whenever she was like, she kept making comments about her feet
- 40:07and she's like, that's weird. Why do you keep talking about my
- 40:09feet? Are you into feet stuff?
- 40:11Do you sell your feet pictures? And then she's like, I mean, you
- 40:13can make a lot of money with it, which is true.
- 40:16But I'm I'm not, I'm not behind that.
- 40:22Summer gets dropped off at her car and she's all alone in the
- 40:27parking lot. I will say the friend waited to
- 40:29make sure she got in her car. She did the friend thing.
- 40:31She couldn't have suspected that there would be a killer in the
- 40:34back seat. But because we, the audience,
- 40:36know we're watching a horror movie, we suspect it.
- 40:41Yeah. And of course, the killer does
- 40:43pop up and immediately slashes her.
- 40:45They. Have they have the fucking gall
- 40:48to do that trip two times in a row?
- 40:50I was, yeah, I was a little bit mad that they did it.
- 40:52Twice. Why?
- 40:53Why? You did it one time.
- 40:54Don't do it twice. It's already cheap if you do it
- 40:56one time because that's like one of the most.
- 40:58It's pretty cliche. It's.
- 41:00Still scary regardless. Yeah.
- 41:05One of the cheerleaders is getting texts from her boyfriend
- 41:08and these sexy texts Let me see them titties.
- 41:14Yeah. LMAO was it complete with an
- 41:19exclamation point and a question mark?
- 41:21Dude if it's so easy to get sexting pics I guess.
- 41:26Let me see them titties. Let me see them titties.
- 41:29She only shows one. He's like no the other one and
- 41:31then she doesn't bother. He's like yeah LMAO.
- 41:34Damn bitch, you've got hot tits. God, like we should all be
- 41:40spoken to so kindly. So Lori dreams that she's a
- 41:45killer and she wakes up and she's like.
- 41:48And she apparently sleeps in her makeup because she still has her
- 41:51little cat eye and foundation and blush and everything.
- 41:56She goes downstairs, her mom has made her waffles and they're
- 42:00clearly egos. And this is also how I knew
- 42:03Laurie was a serial killer because she just eats that shit
- 42:06and dry. No syrup.
- 42:08No syrup 'cause she just grabs them in her hand and walks off.
- 42:11Also respect to Mama Leto who said I will be in your movie but
- 42:16we are not using my real dishes because for both this scene and
- 42:20the dinner the night before it was paper plate.
- 42:23She's like, I'm not doing extra dishes for your.
- 42:25Movie. No, that really, that just kind
- 42:27of makes me feel real, for real. I like it.
- 42:32Not to be like me. And they just seem like the
- 42:35paper plate type of family some people are like that was how my
- 42:38family was for a long time. Like I don't wanna do this.
- 42:40So it's just the shit away. Yeah.
- 42:43I mean, I got the urge and really, honestly, for me, dishes
- 42:46are more of like an environmental thing than a like,
- 42:50I feel like I need to eat on ceramic plates.
- 42:52It's just like, well, it's, you know why?
- 42:54Why contribute to to waste if you don't have to?
- 42:58Well then also, they're not flimsy.
- 43:00Yeah, well, there there is that. OK, so Ali and Summer are not at
- 43:06the game that night. And then we get the first of our
- 43:09extended montage. Twerking, twerking montages.
- 43:13Did you mention though that Mom's leaving for the weekend?
- 43:15No. OK, yeah, She, that's what she
- 43:17was doing. She was telling Warrior like,
- 43:19OK, I'm going to be going for the weekend.
- 43:21I'm going to go hang out with my boyfriend for a while.
- 43:23No parties. You can have Jason over, but
- 43:26don't be throwing any bangers. That's what she said.
- 43:28She's like don't throw bangers. Don't.
- 43:30Yeah, don't throw bangers. Yeah, obviously.
- 43:32OK, so yeah, now they're over there at the the game, yeah,
- 43:38soccer game, Yeah, Ally didn't. She's in no show so and.
- 43:41So is summer. And so is summer.
- 43:43So they do their whole dance routines, twerk on the soccer
- 43:46field. Nobody there.
- 43:48We do get some really good like acrobatics and stuff though.
- 43:51There are a couple of the actresses clearly do have some
- 43:54training because Renee specifically, like we see her do
- 43:57several tricks, tricks like aerials and walkovers and stuff.
- 44:00And I thought that was cool. There was one shot that I almost
- 44:03got really scared because when she was doing an aerial her foot
- 44:06clearly slipped before her hand and I thought she wasn't gonna
- 44:08make it. I was kind of worried for her a
- 44:10few times whenever I saw her. I didn't know if she was
- 44:12experienced or not. And I know that they probably
- 44:14wouldn't put her falling down in the final movie, but a few times
- 44:18it's like. Come on.
- 44:19And this is like a real, like this is real grass.
- 44:22Their shooting at night is entirely possible that it's not
- 44:25like a fully dry field. They're not.
- 44:27These people aren't taking precautions.
- 44:29Yeah, I was just like, yeah, I got real scared for her, but she
- 44:32got it. She did it.
- 44:33It's just Can you imagine though, if this is actually a
- 44:36game that was going on and this is what the cheerleaders are
- 44:39doing? Can you imagine?
- 44:42The soccer team is like, we need to kick the ball, Yeah.
- 44:48It'd be hilarious if they just held up the entire game and made
- 44:50the home team forfeit because they wouldn't get off the field.
- 44:53They're just like twerking the entire time.
- 44:55This school has a losing. Stream because.
- 44:58This The cheerleading squad is always in the middle of the
- 45:00field. That's OK, 'cause the football
- 45:02team sucks. So they're like, OK, we're just
- 45:04here for the cheerleaders anyways.
- 45:06Yeah. Yeah, Lori approaches, she said.
- 45:09I heard that Ally was a no show. My mom's out of town for the
- 45:12weekend. You want to come to my house?
- 45:14I've got liquor and pool and a hot tub up, and they're like,
- 45:18well, if she doesn't show up by tomorrow, we'll consider it.
- 45:22Yeah. Bo and his Bobby talk about
- 45:24crashing the sleepover yet again.
- 45:26And then they do a handshake that feels like these two guys
- 45:29are bubbies in real life. And they already had this
- 45:31because it wasn't. It was natural in a way that,
- 45:34like, they didn't just rehearse it a lot.
- 45:36Like they've been doing it for years.
- 45:38If they're bubies in real life, I feel like they might have
- 45:40better chemistry these guys like anytime that they talk to each
- 45:44other. Maybe they're just not
- 45:45comfortable, like filming, yeah. Why are they in a movie?
- 45:51Well. Bow is bow Leto.
- 45:53Yeah, I guess it's just. Oh God.
- 45:55That's what Letos do. Letos act so the coach makes
- 46:02everyone leave. They gotta leave the field.
- 46:05They gotta leave the lock around.
- 46:07She has a phone call, she says. All right, well, I'm going to
- 46:09shower here and then I'll meet you at the restaurant.
- 46:12Worth mentioning the coach looks the same age as the cheerleader.
- 46:15She actually looks younger than most of them.
- 46:17That's. True, she.
- 46:18Does, but she's got way more tattoos, so I understand why
- 46:21they made her the couch because she's got like 1/2 sleeve on her
- 46:25forehead. Yes, and that would have been a
- 46:27lot like some of them have like a couple tiny tattoos and I can
- 46:31see like I, you know, I knew people that were seniors that
- 46:34had like a couple of tattoos if they 18 before graduation.
- 46:39But yeah, that amount of tattooing, Too much.
- 46:41Too much to be realistic. I'll give this movie a lot
- 46:44credit cuz I think that the scene right here is really well
- 46:47done. I like that idea of her.
- 46:49So she's taking a shower in there, the coaches, and the
- 46:52killer just keeps turning the lights off on her.
- 46:55And I don't know if you've ever been in a bathroom like that and
- 46:58have the lights turn off. Yeah, 'cause you lose your sense
- 47:02of everything. Balance.
- 47:03Yeah, where you are. Like you don't know what the
- 47:05fuck is happening. It's not just that it becomes
- 47:07pitch black 'cause there's no windows or anything in there,
- 47:09but it's also like it's all tiles, so everything's a little
- 47:11bit more echoey. I'm sure it's super slippery.
- 47:13Too 'cause it's. White fours, yeah.
- 47:16So she has to keep. She goes up, gets out of the
- 47:19shower, gets her phone, turns on the flashlight and then turns
- 47:21the light on, makes her way back to the shower, starts showering,
- 47:24and as soon as she turns the water back on, the lights flip
- 47:26off again. And then next time she gets out
- 47:29of the shower to go turn them back on.
- 47:30She. Gets a cleaver to the head.
- 47:32Thank you. OK, so Lisa calls Renee about
- 47:37Ali, Summer and coach Linda. They're all missing and Lisa
- 47:40doesn't sound like she is concerned at all.
- 47:42Even those those are supposedly her friends and her coach.
- 47:47And they guess that they are going to go to Ali's, she said
- 47:51to be there at six. And so they're all going to do
- 47:52dinner at 4:00 at Wild Iris. And at the restaurant, they
- 47:57discuss the the missing people and they try and like retrace
- 48:01their last steps. They're trying to remember the
- 48:03last time they all saw them and where they said they were
- 48:05supposed to be going. And then Lisa's like, you know,
- 48:07the police have already done this.
- 48:08Like, what are you? What are we doing where this is
- 48:10not? This is not that type of movie.
- 48:13Yeah, we're gonna get drunk. While we're here at the
- 48:17restaurant, I have a theory. OK, I have a theory.
- 48:21That creepy pee pee is the reviewer that left that
- 48:25obnoxious reviewer, it seems very creepy pee pee.
- 48:29Yeah, yeah, I can see creepy pee pee doing that.
- 48:31Mm. Hmm.
- 48:32Is creepy pee pee in the scene? I don't think so because we've
- 48:36got all of this that give like a nice shout out to the Wild Iris
- 48:39Cafe. They're, well, actually, I
- 48:41didn't see pulled pork sandwiches or macaroni and
- 48:44cheese on their menu, so no. But I didn't look at the whole
- 48:48menu. I just looked at a couple of
- 48:49pages. Now we're getting back on board
- 48:52here with me if we get that kind of stuff.
- 48:54Yeah, yeah. OK, I I kind of appreciate the
- 48:57shot. So they all leave and the last
- 48:59one left behind. What?
- 49:01What was her name? I think we decided it was
- 49:03Brandy. Yeah, Brandy, she stays behind
- 49:06and I like the tracking shot where he, like the cameraman,
- 49:10stays behind her as she walks out and just follows her all the
- 49:13way to her. Car It's a really nice tracking
- 49:15shot. Yeah, it was cool.
- 49:16It follows her all the way back there and then she gets in her
- 49:19car and. She gets strangled and she falls
- 49:23forward onto the horn and I do like that the killer gently
- 49:26moved her to the side so she wasn't on the horn.
- 49:29Again, back to the seat. I wish, honestly, I wish that we
- 49:34had this one and not have the other kill in the parking lot.
- 49:37Yeah, like if I had to keep one of the back seat killer scenes,
- 49:41I would keep this one. If you have to have it with the
- 49:43car, the one in the parking lot, have them be hiding underneath
- 49:46the car. Yeah.
- 49:48That would be creepy. Yeah, Peepy.
- 49:53Yeah, OK, so let's see. Jason is helping Lori set up and
- 49:59he leaves right before everybody arrives.
- 50:01Lisa is in a Delta Pi church, which is again, confusing
- 50:05because she was in high school. I guess like maybe in I would
- 50:09think maybe like an older sister gave it to her or something,
- 50:12except then she says she's an only child later so.
- 50:14Yeah, yeah, that was my thought too.
- 50:18Yeah, I was like, well, this is weird, but you know, maybe it's
- 50:21like an older sister situation. Nope.
- 50:22She says she's an only child and that's why she's so spoiled.
- 50:26She wants some vodka right away. She's the first one.
- 50:28Immediately goes to the drink. You know what?
- 50:29Respect. That's it.
- 50:32I get to a party and I'm like, hey, where can I mix myself a
- 50:35drink? I don't immediately ask for
- 50:36somebody else's alcohol, but I'm just like, it's a party.
- 50:38I'm socially anxious. I need something to help me calm
- 50:42down some. I think it's funny where he's
- 50:44like, yeah, I got some vodka and some orange juice.
- 50:46She's a guy, I guess, like, I don't know, like, and it's like,
- 50:49you don't know. It's a pretty.
- 50:50Common combination. Yeah, it's like the office where
- 50:53Michael's like, I call it an orange fod juice.
- 50:55Yeah, it's like. It's got a screwdriver.
- 50:57Yeah, it's a screwdriver. It's got a whole name.
- 50:59Yeah, it's so fucking good. It's a really.
- 51:01Good drink. I don't like, I don't like
- 51:03orange juice, but sometimes I'll do it with like pineapple juice.
- 51:07Yeah, you. Miss it now I just.
- 51:10I'm very particular about citrus and we actually this
- 51:12conversation last week, the only oranges I like to eat are
- 51:15Mandarin oranges and I really only like them when they're in a
- 51:17little fruit cup. OK?
- 51:20I have very strong feelings. OK, so the rest of the people
- 51:24started drinking now. Yeah, they see Lisa start to get
- 51:27shit housed and they're like, OK, well she's gonna be down and
- 51:29out soon and we can actually start having some fun.
- 51:32Pee, pee, pee Pee's outside. Yeah, he's watching through the
- 51:35window. And as he's watching through the
- 51:37window, I feel like they're taking a page out of slumber
- 51:39Party Massacre here. And that's where this work off
- 51:42begins. Yeah, instead of doing like, the
- 51:45Hills Cafe, a strip dance thing, they do the twerk off.
- 51:52Yeah. And like, we're not kidding.
- 51:54That's what they call it. Yeah, they're like, we're gonna
- 51:56do a twerk off. Well, they're like, they're
- 51:57bored. Like what do we do?
- 51:58Like, I don't know, I guess we could twerk.
- 52:00It's like where's like, I don't know how to twerk and like we'll
- 52:03show you. We'll have a twerk off.
- 52:04I'm gonna be really honest, I would love to learn how to twerk
- 52:06and I need somebody not judgmental to show me how to
- 52:08twerk. And these girls seem like they
- 52:09could be really good friends to her, minus Lisa.
- 52:12Whoa, we just seem to play the scene on repeat.
- 52:15That way you can learn how to do it.
- 52:17I need something. No, that's no fun.
- 52:19I want somebody that knows how to twerk to come drink or in
- 52:22vajuska and twerk with me. OK, so I love that when they're
- 52:30done, none of them is sweaty. Yeah, but you would be sweaty
- 52:33after a dance off like that. That.
- 52:35Was fun, yeah. Then they play Never have I
- 52:40ever. Yeah, Never have I ever.
- 52:42Yeah. And then of course the boys show
- 52:45up and then I let them in and Lisa start shit stirring.
- 52:49I thought that they were going to do the thing with slumber
- 52:51party massacre here again, where the boys like crash the party
- 52:54and actually like sneak and watch from the window for a
- 52:57little bit, you know, or break in.
- 52:59But no, they're the most polite party crashers ever.
- 53:01They go over there and knock on the door like, hey, can we come
- 53:03in and. They're like, OK.
- 53:05Yeah, and. Then Lisa's immediately like
- 53:08what question can I ask that Renee will put her finger down
- 53:11and it'll cause problems between her and her boyfriend?
- 53:15Except it doesn't work because after the game's over, Renee and
- 53:18her boyfriend go to the hot tub. Lisa has flirted with hot guy
- 53:23friends I guess and then she needs to go throw up so one of
- 53:28the other girls goes with her. Marcy gets a call from Mark,
- 53:33don't know who he is, but she goes outside to meet him in his
- 53:36car. You were missing.
- 53:39Oh my God, I missed the most important line of the movie.
- 53:43Hold on guys. Let me take control here because
- 53:45I've got notes of this whole scene.
- 53:47You bypassed a lot. I forgot about it.
- 53:49I forgot about it. OK, so yeah, they OK, I've got
- 53:54all of the never have I ever written down, by the way, if you
- 53:59want to go over those. I didn't think that they were
- 54:01all that interesting aside from the one release that was shit
- 54:04stirring where she was like never have I ever kissed two
- 54:06people on the same day. It's never have I ever cheated,
- 54:09never have I ever shoplifted, never have I ever dined and
- 54:12dashed, never have I ever sexed, Never have I ever had sex.
- 54:17And then that's when the boys crash.
- 54:19And then then it's like, all right, never have I ever kissed
- 54:22more than one person in 24 hours.
- 54:24Which is why it gets Renee in trouble with Bo.
- 54:26Yeah, because Bo realizes that Renee and Lisa have made out
- 54:30once whenever her and Bo weren't really official yet.
- 54:33Yeah. So he has to try and play it
- 54:35cool. And he's like, oh, no, I'm not
- 54:37jealous. Obviously you're jealous every
- 54:40ride to be jealous. Except then Lisa changes it.
- 54:46Let's play truth. And.
- 54:50Dare. Yes.
- 54:52And we were like, oh, is that what she meant?
- 54:56That's an interesting twist on the game.
- 54:58Except then a hot guy immediately goes all right,
- 55:02truth or dare. No, no, you got it wrong, man.
- 55:05We're playing truth and Dare. You gotta choose both.
- 55:07You can't pick one. You gotta do both.
- 55:09But of course we have to have some casual lesbian fetishism,
- 55:13so Renee and Lisa make out and then that's why Renee and Bo are
- 55:18cool and he's like, let's go be horny in the hot tub.
- 55:22That's what hot tubs are for though, to be fair.
- 55:24That since doesn't make any sense.
- 55:26His girlfriend made out with a girl, so that's why they're
- 55:29cool. Well, 'cause he's like, well,
- 55:30that was pretty hot. Yeah, I guess I, I think that he
- 55:33wasn't really. Well, maybe he was.
- 55:36I can't really tell because of the acting with this guy.
- 55:38This guy's such an awkward actor.
- 55:41OK, yeah. So then Renee and Bo go to the
- 55:43hot tub 'cause they mentioned the hot tub, but you gotta have
- 55:46a hot tub seen in this movie after.
- 55:48The hot tub. So all right, Marcus here,
- 55:53that's the guy that you were talking about.
- 55:55So that's whenever. People start splitting up.
- 55:58Yeah. So Marcy goes to meet Mark, and
- 56:00while she's walking out towards the car, she gets suffocated
- 56:03with a dry cleaning bag. They tell you not to put it
- 56:06around your head. I still stand by the term being
- 56:11Billy bagged. That's, you know, that's good
- 56:14terminology. Yeah, you any time it's
- 56:16something that's a Billy bag. OK, let's see, Bo and Renee are
- 56:21making out and then they're making out into eternity because
- 56:24they get stabbed through their mouths together.
- 56:26That's a good kill. Oh yeah.
- 56:28Give them some credit. Oh yeah, I'm never going to be
- 56:30mad about. That I didn't expect her to die.
- 56:32I I thought her and Bo were going to make it.
- 56:34Well, I thought Renee might make it, you know, maybe she would
- 56:37like survive and be like, wow, Lisa really was a bit.
- 56:40Yeah, that's what I was singing too.
- 56:42Let's see, Kayla is just killed on the couch.
- 56:46She's just like sitting there awkwardly and then she's killed.
- 56:49Someone talking about the movie gets so rushy that we kill
- 56:52everybody in a matter of two minutes.
- 56:54Yeah, well, like, she doesn't even get a cool kill because
- 56:56she's just sitting there waiting for people to come back and then
- 56:58all of a sudden, like, her eyes filled with blood and she's been
- 57:01stabbed in the head. It's the worst CG blood just
- 57:03pouring from her eyes. Yeah, it's terrible.
- 57:06All right, then, this is where Kelly, Yeah, she runs outside.
- 57:11Yeah, she sees a killer and she tries to hide behind a bed and
- 57:14when the killer like, leaves the room, she runs outside and is
- 57:18chased and goes around to the backyard and sees Lori and
- 57:21Lori's like, no, no, it's OK it's OK.
- 57:25And so Kelly like approaches her and Lori stabs her in the tum
- 57:28tum. Yeah, you know it's not going to
- 57:30be OK. Come on.
- 57:31And Jason is the one in the mass.
- 57:34Yeah, whatever. And then I thought what was
- 57:37happening here is like, all right, Lisa is like sick
- 57:39upstairs, let's go get her. And then it cuts the black.
- 57:41I'm like, did you kill Lisa off screen?
- 57:43Yeah, and that's what I really thought happened.
- 57:45I was going to be so one happy for a second if it ended, how
- 57:49it's about how we thought it was going to end here in a second.
- 57:52But also it would just be so shitty because she's the one
- 57:55that needs to be killed the most.
- 57:56She's the shittiest 1. So we cut to Jason and Lori in
- 58:00the parking lot behind their car.
- 58:02And Jason's like, I was killing all of your rivals for you, and
- 58:04I was worried you would be mad. And Lori was like, well, no,
- 58:08once I realized it was you, it was like, well, let me give this
- 58:11a shot. And when I stabbed her, it just
- 58:13felt really great. Also, I need you to know I was
- 58:15adopted at 10 years old. My mom and sister are serial
- 58:19killers. They killed a bunch of people.
- 58:22Do you remember the Delta Pi murders?
- 58:24Yeah, that was that one. She what?
- 58:25Did you say she's adopted? Yeah, she's adopted Delta Pi
- 58:28Murders, so it's part of that movie from before.
- 58:31I'm yeah, die die delta π. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:33Mom was there and her mom was house mom.
- 58:38Yeah, alright. And then the sisters killed 20
- 58:40people in three days. Mom kept it in check with love
- 58:45and counseling. That's how she kept her in
- 58:47check. Because yeah.
- 58:49And so Lori's like, you know, I guess killing's always been in
- 58:51my blood cut to black for a really long time.
- 58:56And we looked at each other like, Oh my God, is that just
- 58:58how it? Ends.
- 58:59I would love it. Because I would have been
- 59:00amazing. Yes, dump.
- 59:02All of this shit right at the beginning or right at the end,
- 59:04just like straight up shooting it out there and then cut.
- 59:09That would be hilarious. I would love.
- 59:11I feel like that would. That would have been amazing.
- 59:12It would have like bumped it. Up it would have bumped it for
- 59:15me too. I would have I would have
- 59:16appreciated that I would have respected the move of doing that
- 59:20but no we cut back to the soccer field Warriors in full
- 59:25cheerleader gear. Now she's doing her cheer.
- 59:28We used this tattoo, the goal post and apparently she is super
- 59:34tough because. She gets stabbed in the face
- 59:36like a lot with the knife inside of a pom pom these.
- 59:40Are some brutal stabs man. Like how the fuck does she even
- 59:44what how does she operate? After this, well, 'cause like,
- 59:47Lori and Jason start to walk away, except Lisa's alive and
- 59:50she kills Jason and then her and Lori fight and she stabs Lori
- 59:57twice in the tummy, which should be fatal following this movie's
- 1:00:00own rules. It's the it's kind of the
- 1:00:03opposite of what is Scream. No, the one movie that we talked
- 1:00:09about was Paris. Hilton, and they're all.
- 1:00:12Is it nylon? Yeah, it's nylon.
- 1:00:13OK, where, you know, we talked about how a stomach wound is
- 1:00:17survivable, but a shoulder wound's immediately fatal.
- 1:00:20This is similar rules, kind of, except that a stomach wound is
- 1:00:25immediately fatal and a face wound is survivable.
- 1:00:28That's a previous to be, not to be for anybody looking for that
- 1:00:31discussion. Yep.
- 1:00:33So then we get Oh yeah, and my final note here is a Jessie Pom
- 1:00:40pom experience, which could be Jessie's next band.
- 1:00:43But also, Jessie told me to make a note about her experience with
- 1:00:46pom poms. So these specific pom poms, and
- 1:00:48these are the type of pom poms you normally see.
- 1:00:50And I just had so many flashbacks looking at this.
- 1:00:53I danced for a long time when I was younger and one of the dance
- 1:00:56styles is actually pom pom. And I was part of a mixed age
- 1:00:59group and we came in first at Nationals Bragg, but we had pom
- 1:01:03poms like this. And so they come in little tubes
- 1:01:06and when you first get them, they're just flat little tubes.
- 1:01:08So you know how, like, when you do a Christmas tree, you have
- 1:01:09to, like, fluff the branches. You essentially have to do it
- 1:01:12with these pom poms. So we had to do that for all of
- 1:01:16these. And I just had such visceral
- 1:01:17memories looking at these pom poms with it.
- 1:01:19And I used to also have stress dreams about my pom poms
- 1:01:22because, like that, you can't miss that piece of your uniform.
- 1:01:25And one time I had a dream that they fell into the lava.
- 1:01:27And I was like, oh, man, my mom's gonna be so pissed.
- 1:01:30Well, yeah, I had to, like, walk through a volcano to get the
- 1:01:31competition. I was running late.
- 1:01:33Oh God. So yeah, these pom poms, I, I
- 1:01:37appreciate that these are like the legit kind of pom poms you
- 1:01:40would normally see 'cause I think a lot of times people
- 1:01:42think of like the little like flappy handle and the.
- 1:01:45But really you get the ones that your hands go inside and like
- 1:01:49that. But yeah, you have to like
- 1:01:51really fluff them up and everything.
- 1:01:53Interesting. Yeah, OK.
- 1:01:55So that's that's my fun little diversion into pom poms.
- 1:01:59How? How realistic is it to hide A
- 1:02:01knife? Inside one of them because
- 1:02:03you're like holding it like you've got like this middle
- 1:02:06handle part and then the palms are actually on the side and you
- 1:02:09fluff them enough. But that's what you hold on to
- 1:02:11is like a little thing. So she could have like a knife
- 1:02:13right there in her hand and just.
- 1:02:15Punch it in her. So that's, and that's also why,
- 1:02:19like, it's easy enough for like when cheerleaders, when you see
- 1:02:21them like, do like cartwheels and stuff with pom poms in their
- 1:02:23hand. That's why it's easy enough to
- 1:02:25do that. Oh, that makes sense.
- 1:02:26Yeah. OK.
- 1:02:28All right. Fun facts.
- 1:02:30All right, that's it for this movie.
- 1:02:32It is. Oh, Lori's not dead.
- 1:02:34Also her. Her eyes open at the end.
- 1:02:37Oh. Really, I'm just sad.
- 1:02:37Yeah, OK. OK, after we've talked about it,
- 1:02:42what's your score? 3 1/2 I guess, I don't know,
- 1:02:49it's stupid. Like you can have fun with it.
- 1:02:53Like seriously, it's just, it's just an objectively bad movie,
- 1:02:57which I like plenty of them, but this one, it's a little bit more
- 1:03:03rough than usual. I would say it feels more
- 1:03:08homemade. Yeah.
- 1:03:10And that's the thing that I actually kind of that endears me
- 1:03:14to it. I don't think that the writing
- 1:03:16is necessarily great. No shade to Christopher Leto,
- 1:03:20but I, I don't, I don't love the writing of it, but I do like the
- 1:03:24spirit of it in that it's endearing to me.
- 1:03:28Yeah. So I'm gonna keep mine at a 5.
- 1:03:30So we have a 4.25 as our ending average.
- 1:03:33Travis, what's one thing you would change?
- 1:03:35Well, I, I feel like the killer needed more of a presence
- 1:03:44because he is there for those few killers in the opening and
- 1:03:48then he's just not really there at the end.
- 1:03:51And then it just gets rushed so fast at the end that like
- 1:03:56they're like, oh, hey, we were focusing on the party.
- 1:03:58Oh shit, we need to kill everybody.
- 1:04:00Oh shit. We don't really have a lot of
- 1:04:02time or money to do this. Let's just go ahead and wrap
- 1:04:04this thing up. Well, and that's what I mean
- 1:04:06that I don't think like writing is probably necessarily his
- 1:04:08strength because those are like those are writing things like we
- 1:04:13need more of a set up this and this so this we're we're not
- 1:04:20getting that with this. No, you're not.
- 1:04:22Which sometimes it's fun to just have slasher like, you know,
- 1:04:26just a mindless slasher. It would be nice to have it like
- 1:04:30paced a little bit better and, you know, maybe a little bit
- 1:04:32more variation with the kills. Yeah, the variation too.
- 1:04:36I just it would be with this type of movie, you really need
- 1:04:40like a cool killer, you know, like a good killer with a good
- 1:04:42presence. And I didn't really think the
- 1:04:44killer had a great presence in this movie.
- 1:04:46OK, Yeah. And like, I normally am a person
- 1:04:49that loves a good mask. I I I respect that you
- 1:04:52appreciate this mask, but I didn't.
- 1:04:54They just kind of felt low effort.
- 1:04:56It's creepy that it's a face. Yeah, it looks like it's an
- 1:05:00actual skinned face and I wish we'd gotten that it.
- 1:05:02Kind of did look like that. Yeah.
- 1:05:03But I just. It just kind of made it look
- 1:05:05like another person. It was too much of A face, you
- 1:05:07know what I mean? OK.
- 1:05:08Like, it was just like, oh, like, I'm just staring at a
- 1:05:10guy's face, OK. And those are usually lame
- 1:05:13killers for me and a slasher. Like I don't like seeing faces
- 1:05:16until later so. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:20So OK, that's my thing. Who did you relate to?
- 1:05:25Well I think I related to God damn dude.
- 1:05:37This is a hard one to try and pick for.
- 1:05:42I'll relate to the I hate that we can't cut this because like I
- 1:05:54have to think on this. OK, well, I'll say mine while
- 1:05:57you think about it. I I'm going to say that I relate
- 1:06:00to Mamaletto because novelty. Salt shakers.
- 1:06:03Salt and pepper shakers. OK I'll rule relate to Jason
- 1:06:11because I appreciated him shitting on something but
- 1:06:14supporting it all on the same time because that's why he was
- 1:06:18doing with her and her cheerleading things.
- 1:06:19Like you know what I like? It's stupid, but I respect it
- 1:06:22and I support you for doing it. That's what you're doing with
- 1:06:24this movie. Yeah, I wouldn't say I'm
- 1:06:27shitting on it. Well, I mean, in about as much
- 1:06:31the way as he was shitting on cheerleading.
- 1:06:33Like, I don't get it. It's not my thing.
- 1:06:35I guess it's. True for you, but The thing is,
- 1:06:37this is my thing, this is my, this is my type of thing.
- 1:06:40So like and I am into it. So a little bit different, but
- 1:06:44the same. OK, what was Scout's favorite
- 1:06:49part? Scout's favorite part was the
- 1:06:52hot tub scene because she likes heat and she also likes being in
- 1:06:57the water at the same time. No, Scout's favorite part was
- 1:07:03obviously her taking the echoes and running.
- 1:07:07Oh God damn she would do that. I can just see her doing her
- 1:07:11little scout shuffle all the way through the hall.
- 1:07:13Whenever Scout has something she's not supposed to have, she
- 1:07:17runs the fastest she's ever run, but she does it with her belly
- 1:07:20as close to the floor as possible.
- 1:07:22It's insane to watch. She discovered a brand new gear
- 1:07:26and for some reason getting your stomach as low to the ground
- 1:07:29without actually dragging is like optimal speed.
- 1:07:32Right, it makes her her most aerodynamic.
- 1:07:35Yeah, there's something about it.
- 1:07:36Because she doesn't have her. Her belly doesn't say.
- 1:07:40I don't know what it is, but she she found it I'm really happy
- 1:07:43for. You OK?
- 1:07:45Dream sequel. I OK, so I guess Warry's going
- 1:07:50to be the like the main killer the next time around.
- 1:07:53I would say maybe she like, has a change of heart.
- 1:07:55Let's say this goes to college and she's like, OK, well, like I
- 1:08:00realized now that colleges also have cheerleading squads, so I
- 1:08:03guess my dream's not totally over with.
- 1:08:05So she goes there, tries out for that squad, she makes it, but
- 1:08:09this time her squad is getting killed and she doesn't know they
- 1:08:15got somebody targeting. Her.
- 1:08:16It's Lisa. Lisa's coming back for revenge
- 1:08:19because the face stabs disfigured her and she wasn't
- 1:08:22allowed. She wasn't allowed to cheer this
- 1:08:24time. Yes, but I wanted to not
- 1:08:26actually be Lisa, but I wanted to be all signs pointing to her.
- 1:08:30She's a red herring. So like maybe at one point Lisa
- 1:08:32and Lori have a confrontation and Lisa's like, I can't believe
- 1:08:36that you gave me scars like this.
- 1:08:38And Lori's like, dude, it's really fucked up if people are
- 1:08:41discriminating against you, and it's really fucked up that you
- 1:08:45stabbed me in the face. Like also did you know that they
- 1:08:48actually play the sport here at this place like?
- 1:08:51Did she know there's football? Yeah, did you know that
- 1:08:53twerking's done actually like a cheerleading move?
- 1:08:55Like what were we doing? And then maybe we get that Delta
- 1:08:58Pi connection cuz maybe Lori also rushes Delta Pi and then.
- 1:09:03That would be great. Yeah, so we can tie everything
- 1:09:06in together. I think that's what you gotta
- 1:09:08do. You gotta take it to the right
- 1:09:09there and make it come full circle.
- 1:09:11Yeah. All right.
- 1:09:12I think that's fun, yeah. OK.
- 1:09:14All right. Do you have reviews for this?
- 1:09:19Yes, I have. As we do with 2B or not to be,
- 1:09:23I've got a lower review and a higher review.
- 1:09:27So the lower review is a one out of 10.
- 1:09:33OK, Lori Taylor Heard wants to be a cheerleader.
- 1:09:37She is now a senior and it appears that the Mean Girls
- 1:09:39won't let her on the squad. They plan an annual sleepover at
- 1:09:42Allie's Vera Marlow house, but Allie doesn't make it past her
- 1:09:45first shower scene. When other girls go missing,
- 1:09:48they accept Laurie's invitation and have the event at her house.
- 1:09:51There's a lack of suspects so the killer was easy to figure
- 1:09:53out. I don't know what happened to
- 1:09:55the bodies. The murders were fast and there
- 1:09:57was a lot of useless filler. The girls did not look like they
- 1:10:00were in high school or were cheerleaders.
- 1:10:02Poor photography and sound. Cheap version of the classic
- 1:10:04slumber party massacre. Great if you like twerking in
- 1:10:07showers. True.
- 1:10:12That's a spot on review, like all the way through.
- 1:10:15Yeah. One of the things I would like I
- 1:10:17didn't say is like the sound was one thing that really bothered
- 1:10:20me. They didn't get the ambience
- 1:10:21out. I think a big, I think that was
- 1:10:24the worst part about the car scenes for me.
- 1:10:27And we had them both car scenes. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:30OK, then. I've got a six out of 10 and.
- 1:10:33That's the best. It was.
- 1:10:35I liked this. I liked this review.
- 1:10:37OK, OK, Cheerleader Sleepover Slaughter was actually a very
- 1:10:41enjoyable movie. Was it the greatest movie ever
- 1:10:43made? Now, just for the record, I'm in
- 1:10:45no way associated with anyone who is in any way involved in
- 1:10:48the film. The cast and crew seem to have
- 1:10:50had a great time in making this film.
- 1:10:52I would not recommend this for most viewers and I think a
- 1:10:54person should be in the right mood to really experience it.
- 1:10:57I do have doubts that The Cheerleader Sleepover Slaughter
- 1:10:59will reach cult classic status, but you never really can tell
- 1:11:02about these things. If you're reading this and are
- 1:11:04interested in watching The Cheerleader Sleepover Slaughter,
- 1:11:06you should also watch Die Die Delta Pi.
- 1:11:08There's an actual connection between these two films.
- 1:11:10We should maybe watch that. Yeah, and I generally agree with
- 1:11:13this review. I, I don't think it's the best
- 1:11:16movie I ever made. I respect that they made a movie
- 1:11:18and they had fun doing it. And it, you know, there are
- 1:11:21times that, like, we watch a movie and we're like, I respect
- 1:11:27that they made a movie, but I, I didn't enjoy it.
- 1:11:30And it was kind of tedious. This never really felt tedious,
- 1:11:33even though there were some scenes that were like, why is
- 1:11:36this here? Why is this drawn out?
- 1:11:37At one point, we paused to let Talia out, and there was 10
- 1:11:40minutes left. And we were like, wait, what?
- 1:11:41Yeah. Because we hadn't even gotten to
- 1:11:43all the kills yet. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:44That's how rushed the ending. Was.
- 1:11:46That's when the actual sleepover starts.
- 1:11:48Yeah, no, I was. I mean, like the cult.
- 1:11:53Well, First off, yeah, that's like a solid review.
- 1:11:55Like I 100% agree with that too. The cult status thing, though, I
- 1:11:59that's something that I think about these types of movies all
- 1:12:01the time because like, generally, yeah, you don't know
- 1:12:05a lot of movies that do have that cult status for once, for
- 1:12:10whatever reason, somebody found 2010 years later down the line
- 1:12:15and they're like, do you see, like weird and ridiculous and
- 1:12:19absurd and awesome this movie was?
- 1:12:21And I feel like this movie kind of does have the DNA of that
- 1:12:23type of movie. Yeah, I could definitely see
- 1:12:26this being something where it like, because it's the thing
- 1:12:29about this movie is it's easy. Yeah.
- 1:12:31Like it's easy to watch and be like this is silly and fun and
- 1:12:36it's nonsense and in a way that I generally like from these
- 1:12:39types of movies. I do wish that it had a little
- 1:12:42bit more story with it, but I'm also not mad at the product that
- 1:12:45I have. No.
- 1:12:45And I'm gonna just gonna and say the twerking in the showers
- 1:12:49definitely do help get that cult status if it ever does get to
- 1:12:54that point later down the line. We all know I'm a sucker for a
- 1:12:58montage. I'm not mad that we got doom
- 1:13:01twerking montage. I'm not either.
- 1:13:02You know what? I think it's a fun time.
- 1:13:04It was fun, it was funny. It was so like I, I, I kind of
- 1:13:08just enjoyed it for what it was in the moment because like, I
- 1:13:10knew what was happening here. Like, let's just have fun, you
- 1:13:13know? I guess that leaves us with
- 1:13:15articular question, Travis. Yeah.
- 1:13:17To be or not to be? Much like this person.
- 1:13:21Yeah, I like, I would recommend it to the right person whenever
- 1:13:25they are in the right mood. For sure.
- 1:13:27Because you're not gonna, I'm not gonna tell a lot of people
- 1:13:30to throw this thing on. You gotta you gotta, I gotta
- 1:13:34know you. I gotta know what you like.
- 1:13:37If you watched Doom Asylum you can watch this.
- 1:13:41I don't know about that, maybe, I guess.
- 1:13:44Yeah, Yeah. OK.
- 1:13:45If you've watched Doom Asylum, you can watch this.
- 1:13:47You can make it through this just fine.
- 1:13:51Would you watch it again? Maybe.
- 1:13:55OK, I'll go ahead and say, yeah, I'd give it a watch.
- 1:13:59Like wow, like watch Die die Delta Pi and then be like, OK,
- 1:14:04now let's go back and watch that one again.
- 1:14:05Yeah, I, I'm curious about that one.
- 1:14:09It has a higher IMDb rating and it's got different people
- 1:14:13involved. It's not like a purely Leto
- 1:14:15family outing. So I am kind of curious, but the
- 1:14:19reviews on it were a little bit mixed.
- 1:14:21Like from the reviews on cheerleader Sleepover Slaughter,
- 1:14:27people were like, it's got a connection, you should watch
- 1:14:28this. And other people were like, this
- 1:14:29is somehow better than that one. Yeah.
- 1:14:32So it's a little bit mixed reviews.
- 1:14:34I'm curious though. It makes me want to watch it.
- 1:14:36Me too. Yeah.
- 1:14:37OK. All right.
- 1:14:39I guess that's it for this one then.
- 1:14:41I suppose it is, Yeah. On Thursday we're gonna have our
